Eminem’s Daughter Welcomes a Baby Girl
Eminemis a grandpa…again. But this time, his eldest daughter, Alaina Marie Scott, is the new mommy!
Marshall Mathers (or as his fans know him, Eminem) has three children—Alaina (born in 1993), Stevie Laine Scott (born in 2002), and Hailie Jade Scott (born in 1995). Hailie Jade is the performer’s only biological child. He adopted his oldest, Alaina, in the early 2000s.
Born to his then-wife, Kim’s sisterDawn Scott, Alaina’s birth mother struggled with addiction. She passed away in 2016 from a suspected overdose. In a 2004 interview, Eminem told Rolling Stone, “I have full custody of my niece.” He continued, “My niece has been a part of my life ever since she was born.” And if you’re wondering what Mathers is like as a dad, he also revealed, “I’m not saying I’m the perfect father, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and raise them the right way.”
The doting dad officially became a grandpa in 2025 when his daughter, Hallie Jade, had a son, Elliot Marshall McClintock. And now he’s a grandfather times two! Alaina announced her baby news on Instagram, with a precious post captioned, “My heart outside my body, she’s everything and more. Scottie Marie Moeller born 4/14/26. Welcome to the world my sweet darling.”
View this post on InstagramSo how did Scott come up with the curiously cute name for her little one? The new mom explains the special meaning behind the moniker, “Scottie, in honor of my “Scott sisters.” The women who have given the name and my life so much meaning. May she now give it a meaning of her own and always know how loved she is, by mom + dad, and her aunties.” Alaina also shared two pics of the newborn (wearing an absolutely adorable crocheted monogram onesie), covering little Scottie’s face with a heart for privacy.
Fans and friends took to Instagram, sending their well-wishes. One commenter wrote, “She is so perfect! Beyond happy for you two,” while another said, “You chose the perfect name for her! Congratulations!”
View this post on InstagramBack in October, the then-soon-to-be mom announced her pregnancy on Instagram, writing a heartfelt post, “For months, I’ve carried a tiny heartbeat inside me, one that has already changed mine in every possible way. There’s something indescribable about knowing there’s a little life growing, dreaming, and becoming, all while you go about your day.”
Her sister, Eminem’s younger daughter Hailie Jade, gushed in response, “So happy for you guys, can’t wait to be this little one’s aunties & Elliot is so excited to meet his cousin.”
Meteor Showers Are Going to Light Up the Sky This Week— Here's Where (And How) to See Them
If you’ve been looking for a reason to step outside at night, this is it. One of the most reliable and oldest meteor showers of the year is peaking this week, offering skywatchers a chance to catch dozens of “shooting stars” streaking across the sky.
This meteor shower is the Lyrid meteor shower, and it’s expected to deliver one of the best celestial shows of the spring.
Related: The Sky Is Putting On a Dramatic 'Planet Parade'— Here's Who Will Get a Front Row Seat
What’s Happening in the Sky This Week? The Lyrids are active from mid-April through about April 25, but the real highlight comes during their peak in the early morning hours of April 21–22. During that window, viewers can typically expect around 10 to 20 meteors per hour under ideal conditions.
What makes this year especially exciting is the timing of the moon. With a darker sky and minimal moonlight interference, visibility will be better than usual, meaning even fainter meteors could be visible.
Meteor showers occur when Earth passes through debris left behind by a comet, and in this case, material from Comet Thatcher. As those tiny particles burn up in Earth’s atmosphere, they create the bright streaks we see from the ground.
Where You Can See Them BestThe good news: you don’t need to be in a specific city or country to enjoy the show. The Lyrids are visible across much of the world, but they’re especially favorable for viewers in the Northern Hemisphere.
Ideally, you’ll want to head somewhere with minimal light pollution, so think rural areas, open fields, or even a quiet beach if you’re near the coast. City dwellers can still catch a few meteors, but the difference is dramatic. The darker your surroundings, the more you’ll see. If you want a general rule: if you can clearly see the Milky Way, you’re in a great spot.
Related: The Best Day This Month to Star Gaze Is Coming Up
When to Look UpTiming is everything with meteor showers, and the Lyrids are no exception. The best viewing window is after midnight and before dawn, when the part of Earth you’re standing on is facing into the stream of debris.
While you might spot a meteor earlier in the evening, the rate increases significantly in the early morning hours. Around 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. is often the sweet spot. Also, don’t expect constant action. Meteor watching requires patience, and there may be quiet stretches followed by sudden bursts of activity.
How to Watch (No Telescope Needed)One of the best things about meteor showers is how simple they are to enjoy. You don’t need any special equipment, just your eyes and a little preparation.
Here’s how to get the most out of the experience:
- Give your eyes time to adjust: It takes about 20–30 minutes for your eyes to fully adapt to the dark
- Look away from bright lights: Even your phone can ruin your night vision
- Dress for the weather: You’ll likely be outside for a while
- Lie back and relax: A reclining chair or blanket makes a big difference
Although the meteors appear to originate from the constellation Lyra, you don’t need to focus on that exact spot. In fact, you’ll often see more activity by looking at darker areas of the sky away from the radiant point.

‘Happy Days’ Star Will Be Delivering the Commencement Speech at a Top-Tier College
Henry Winkler is best known for his roles as Fonzie on Happy Days and Gene Cousineau on Barry. He is also a director and writer who has published a series of children’s books called Hank Zipzer: The World's Greatest Underachiever. This year, the Emmy Award-winning star is scheduled to deliver the commencement speech for Emerson College on May 9 in Boston.
This is not the first time Winkler has given a commencement speech. He also spoke at Georgetown University in 2025 to congratulate the College of Arts & Sciences.
In his Georgetown speech, he reminded the students that they could achieve anything. “The overall umbrella of what I’m going to say today is that all things are possible," he said. "Because I am living proof. So I went to Emerson, I nearly flunked out. I talked my way back in, I don’t know where I got the nerve. I went to the Yale School of Drama. Twenty-five actors were chosen. Eleven finished. Three were asked into the professional company. I was now making $173 a week. I was on my way. This was amazing. Then I went to New York. I tried out for commercials. Everybody I went to Yale with said, ‘I don’t know how you can do commercials. It goes against our aesthetic grain. We were trained for the theater.’ Their next question to me was, ‘How do you get them?’”
The actor went on to say, “Don’t put a period on the end of a negative thought. I want to tell you that every one of you is powerful. Every one of you here—your parents, your relatives, your brothers, your sisters, your aunts, your uncles—you are all powerful.”

Winkler continued, “There is not one way to do anything. There is only your way. You’re not hired to fill just time and space. You are hired to fill that time and space with your imagination, with that power that you’re going to find. You are wonderful. And everything is possible. Everything is possible.”
Some other celebrities who are scheduled to give commencement speeches this year are Conan O'Brien, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Green, James Patterson, Hilary Duff, Queen Latifah, and Hugh Jackman.
Nancy Guthrie Update: FBI Releases New Message for the First Time in Weeks
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than 10 weeks after she was abducted from Tucson, Ariz.—and the FBI just released a new message about the case for the first time in weeks.
On April 16, news broke that the FBI had received DNA evidence from the 84-year-old's home. The Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) initially sent it to a private lab in Florida.
The FBI is reportedly using new technology for advanced analysis of the genetic material, a hair sample, ABC News reported. Naturally, the news sparked a flurry of interest from those who have closely followed Nancy's case.
In response to the reports, the FBI addressed the ongoing investigation.
"There is no new DNA evidence in the Nancy Guthrie case. The FBI requested this material over two months ago," an FBI official told ABC News. "The Pima County Sheriff's Office sent it to a private lab in Florida. Eleven weeks later, that lab has now transferred an original hair sample to the FBI Laboratory for testing. We remain fully committed to this investigation."

On April 17, the PCSD also addressed the situation in an X post, writing, "PCSD has worked with the FBI since the beginning of the Guthrie investigation. This is not new information. The private lab we utilize in Florida continues to share information with the FBI lab & other partner labs across the country. DNA analysis remains ongoing."

— Pima County Sheriff's Department (@PimaSheriff) April 16, 2026In February, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed that DNA evidence collected from Nancy’s home was “mixed,” meaning it contained genetic material from more than one individual. This made separating it and identifying the people challenging.
“Our lab tells us that there are challenges with it,” Nanos said, per Fox News. “The technology is moving so fast and in such a frenzy that they think some of this stuff will resolve itself just in a matter of weeks, months, or maybe a year.”
Nancy was last seen at her Tucson residence on the evening of Jan. 31. The PCSD (later with the help of the FBI) launched its search on Feb. 1. As of writing, no suspect has been named, despite Savannah offering a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother’s recovery.
Lindt’s Exclusive Lindor Truffle Flavor Taps Into This Spring’s Hottest Trend
Lindt is bringing back a Lindor Truffle flavor that seems to be this season's "it girl."
The cult-favorite chocolatier has been ahead of the trend, producing the spring-inspired chocolate truffle for years. But now that the flavor is beginning to pop up everywhere, from Red Bull to Starbucks (even Oreo tried hopping on it with a limited-edition flavor last spring), we have a feeling its popularity will hit a new peak this year.
That's right, returning for a limited time is Lindt's Sakura Lindor Truffle.
Lindt's Sakura Lindor Truffle Flavor Returns for the SeasonThe cherry blossom-flavored chocolate truffle officially returned for spring 2026 earlier this month, marking its fourth year in the States.

Reviewers have backed up those claims, with one gushing on Reddit a few years ago that they're "Pretty good!" The fan went on, explaining they "bought a bunch" at a nearby Lindt Factory Outlet Store and hope that the brand eventually makes a milk or dark chocolate truffle with a cherry filling.
"They are delicious!" a more recent comment declared, describing the treat as "light and floral with a cherry kick."
"Floral cherry ish taste," someone else agreed, calling the confection, "My favorite."
"The best lindor truffle flavor I have ever tried," one more wrote on Facebook.
Where Is This Spring Truffle Flavor Available?Lindt's Sakura Lindor Truffle flavor is available exclusively at Lindt retail stores, sold individually by weight (prices may vary). The trendy chocolate truffle flavor can also be purchased online via the company's website as part of its Pick & Mix collection (which ranges in price from $31.49 to $210) and in larger, bulk quantities (such as an 800-piece case, which retails for $294).
From what Parade understands, the spring-exclusive flavor will be available until sometime mid-summer, or as long as supplies last.

Why Iron Maiden Is Skipping Their Long-Awaited Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Induction
Fans have been waiting for decades for Iron Maiden to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and now that it's finally happening, the band is skipping the highly anticipated induction event. Here's why.

“As the most observant have already noticed, the band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the Induction ceremony for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles,” manager Rod Smallwood told Billboard in a statement on April 16.
The induction is scheduled for Nov. 14 in Los Angeles, just one week after the Australian leg of the tour kicks off on Nov. 7 in Auckland, and smack dab between the shows in Melbourne and Sydney on Nov. 13 and 15, so there was no way to make both work.
View this post on Instagram“We would like to assure all our fans in Australasia that the Australian and New Zealand dates will remain unaffected,” he added. "We look forward to bringing the Run For Your Lives Tour to them on the penultimate stop of our 50th anniversary celebrations.”
So, is there beef with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for not attending? Smallwood insists it's all good. “In accepting, Iron Maiden made it very clear to the R&R HoF that the fans always come first and that the shows will of course go on," he said.

After forming in East London in 1975, it took the band—currently featuring Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, and Janick Gers—46 years to even be nominated for the honor. After noms in 2021 and 2023, the metal legends finally joined the inductee class of 2026.
This will only be the eighth time Iron Maiden has made the trip down under during their half-century in the music industry, so fans are surely relieved that nothing is going to derail it.
This year is a huge milestone for the band, who will also get their own documentary, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, released in theaters on May 7, 2026.
This 2013 'Breaking Bad' Episode Won an Emmy and Ranked No. 1 'Best TV Episode of All Time'
There are a select few TV episodes that can be titled as being the best of the best by fans and media outlets. During its fifth season, Breaking Badreleased a stellar episode that led to multiple Emmy wins and became known as one of TV's best episodes of all time.
Breaking Bad released the episode "Ozymandias" as the 14th episode of its fifth season, with its storyline concluding the cliffhanger narrative from its prior episode. Fans flocked to TV screens in mid-September to watch the episode written by Moira Walley-Beckett and directed by Rian Johnson. The self-described "partners in crime" had previously worked together on the episode "Fly," with Walley-Beckett having admitted her involvement was simply "luck of the draw."
"Ozymandias" was called by series creator Vince Gilliganas one of the show's best, and he wasn't wrong. It was ranked No. 1 on Rolling Stone's list of "Best TV Episodes of All Time," with them commenting that the episode "tops our list not only because of how well it builds on what came before, but for how perfect it is as an individual hour of storytelling, packed with one indelible moment after another."
With only two episodes before the series finale, "Ozymandias" became the culmination of every horrible thing Walter White (Bryan Cranston) has done over the past five seasons, blowing up in his face. The episode's storyline follows a breaking point, picking up immediately after the desert shootout in the prior episode. Jack Welker (Michael Bowen) is ready to kill Hank Schrader (Dean Norris), with Walt begging them to let Hank go, and promises to give them his entire fortune.
In an upsetting moment, Hank tells Walt that they had already decided to kill them, with Hank ultimately being killed by Jack at gunpoint. A shattered Walter gives up Jesse (Aaron Paul) in an attempt to hold onto what he has left and confesses to Jesse that he watched Jane die. Jesse is taken by the gang and forced to cook meth.
At the same time, Marie (Betsy Brandt) tells Skylar (Anna Gunn) that Hank arrested Walter, unaware that he's really dead. Skylar is also forced to reveal the truth about Walter's drug enterprise to Walter Jr. (RJ Mitte) and her own role in illegal business. Back at home, Skylar finds Walter frantically packing and urges his family to leave with him, while learning the grim truth of Hank's death. Believing Walter was responsible, she finally turns on her husband and threatens him as Walter Jr. calls the police.
Walter ends up fleeing with Holly, and later calls their home to establish Skylar's innocence and being the sole person responsible for the drug business, knowing the police are listening. The episode ends with Walter confirming Hank's death, leaving Holly at a fire station, and meeting with Ed Galbraith (Robert Forster), who drives away with Walt and the money barrel.
"Ozymandias" was a success upon its release, earning Walley-Becket an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Cranston also won an Emmy for Lead Actor, alongside Gunn for Leading Actress. It was hailed as one of the best and toughest episodes to watch, having been viewed by over six million fans at the time, and received a perfect score on IMDb.

Legendary Rock Singer Ranked New Album as Band’s Best Yet
Everyone has their favorite album, even Shinedown lead singer Brent Smith.
This week, the legendary lead singer sat down for a moment to share how his own music stacks up by ranking each of the band's albums in order from best to worst. Each album name was called out in order of when it was released, as Smith shared where he would place it on the list.
The caption read, "We ranked every album… watch till the end for #1 👀 let’s see your rankings 👇"
Shinedown's first album, Planet Zero ranked at No. 5 on his list, with Us and Them taking up eighth place. Surprisingly, The Sound of Madness took the second spot with Amaryllis coming in fourth.
Threat to Survival snagged the No. 7 spot, and Attention Attention took third. Smith put Planet Zero at No. 6, leaving only the No. 1 spot available, and he confidently ranked the band's upcoming album, EI8HT, as the top album.
View this post on InstagramThis list is surprising and a bit exciting because The Sound of Madness is widely known as Shinedown's best album, giving us hits like "Second Chance," the title track "Sound of Madness," and "Devour." Released in 2008, this was the band's third studio album and their biggest commercial success, ranking double platinum, putting out six No. 1 singles on the Billboard rock music chart.
Not all fans agreed with Smith, with one writing, "I am not ok with Planet Zero being number 6! Haha! I love you guys! Can’t wait for EIGHT! 💜"
Another shared, "Sound of Madness not being number 1 should be illegal."
"I’ll never understand why Us and Them gets so little love. Amazing times as a Shinedown fan around that era," a third fan declared.
Others debated the rank with one surprising re-order placing The Sound of Madness at No. 6, and another proclaiming, "Leave a whisper is and will always be the best!!!"
Shinedown's eighth album, EI8HT, comes out on May 29, 2026, with 18 songs including the already released (and chart-topping) "Safe and Sound," "Outlaw," "Three Six Five," "Dance, Kid, Dance," "Killing Fields," and "Searchlight."
Ahead of the album release, Shinedown is headed back on the road when their Dance, Kid, Dance – Act II World Tour kicks off on May 13 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Released on September 23, 1969, in New Haven, Connecticut, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid made waves as a transformative entry in the Western genre. The shoot-'em-up marked Hill's eighth feature film and remains his most celebrated work. Upon its release, the film achieved widespread critical recognition, with many singing its praises for redefining the traditional Western archetype.
Starring Hollywood legends Paul Newman as Butch Cassidy and Robert Redford as the Sundance Kid, the film followed two outlaws seeking a fresh start out west after committing a series of bank and train robberies. The blockbuster effortlessly blended comedy, action, unique friendship dynamics and Western aesthetics to create a masterclass in filmmaking that would inspire the genre for years.
The film's prestigious reputation was widely recognized during the subsequent awards season. In 1970, the film took home several notable accolades, including four Academy Awards, nine BAFTA Awards and a Golden Globe Award. Today, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid continues to resonate with modern audiences, consistently appearing on "best of" lists, attesting to its longstanding legacy in cinema.

Courtesy of Netflix
It's safe to say The Traitors has taken the world by storm over the past five years. And Netflix tried to take advantage of the global obsession with deception last year with Million Dollar Secret. In the original reality show, a group of contestants lives in the lap of luxury, all trying to hunt down who has been chosen privately to be the "Millionaire." The goal: Eliminate the Millionaire, in the hopes that you get the cash transferred to you, and take it home by the end of the game. After a well-received debut, the Peter Serafinowicz-led show returned for Season 2 on April 15 with its first three of eight episodes.

2026 sees the return of the World Cup, which is heading stateside to L.A. this year. So, with soccer hype at a fever pitch, it's the perfect time for Netflix to drop a docuseries on one of the greatest players in the sport's history: Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho: The One and Only takes a deep dive into the iconic attacking midfielder, from his humble beginnings as a young prodigy to becoming a global icon. If you leave the April 16 series with more appreciation for the Brazilian's talents, that's the "GOOOOOOOAAAALLLL"!

Beef Season 2 Carey Mulligan and Oscar Isaac in 'Beef' Season 2Netflix
In 2023, Netflix debuted one of its meatiest surprise hits in Beef. Created by Lee Sung Jin, the series started as a minor incident in a parking lot, before escalating into a series of events that left several bodies in their wake by the end. Beef was on the taste buds of the Emmy voters that year, earning awards for the series, as well as leads Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.
Three years later, Beef is finally back for a second helping on April 16. But it's taking a page out of shows like The White Lotus or the works of Ryan Murphy, as fans of the show will find the only similarity between the two seasons is the name. For Season 2, a new group of characters, led by Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Cailee Spaney and Charles Melton, dive into the drama behind the scenes of a high-scale country club. And, without spoiling too much about all the delicious drama, you'll absolutely want to watch this one for the cameos!

'Full House' Actress, 61, Looks Nearly Unrecognizable as She Debuts Brand-New Look
Have mercy! Lori Loughlin had fans doing a double take as she showed off a whole new look during her latest red carpet outing.
The Full House alum brought the glitz and glamour on Thursday, April 16, as she stepped out for a Los Angeles photo-op with a completely new look, rendering her nearly unrecognizable at first glance.
Known for her role as Rebecca "Aunt Becky" Donaldson-Katsopolis on Full House, Loughlin is among some of the most recognizable stars from the cast of the iconic sitcom from the late '80s and '90s — but she recently made a big change in the hair department, giving her an entirely different look.
As seen in the photos from the LACMA's Opening Gala for the David Geffen Galleries on Thursday, Loughlin, 61, debuted a new hairstyle that featured her freshly-chopped locks just barely touching the tops of her shoulders. The layered look also featured thick-cut bangs that partially covered her face.

Thursday's look marked a stark difference from Loughlin's most recent appearance last month, when she attended a special event to celebrate When Calls the Heart and the prequel Hope Valley: 1874. She also stepped out earlier in March for an evening put on by the Women's Cancer Research Fund, and her hair was still well past her shoulders at that point — and she didn't have any bangs at the time.
During her latest photo-op, Loughlin's new hair wasn't the only part of her look to catch fans' attention, as she showed up dressed in a flashy, sequin-covered gown. The form-fitting silver dress, which was lined with rhinestones along the neckline and the straps, also featured a daring slit on one side that reached all the way to her upper thigh. Loughlin accessorized the sparkly look with a pair of metallic silver heels and a similar shade of nail polish to match.
While attending Thursday's event, Loughlin was also photographed alongside Olivia Jade Giannulli, 26, the younger of the two daughters she shares with estranged husband Mossimo Giannulli.

'The Pitt's Shabana Azeez Breaks Down Javadi’s Big Finale Choice: 'Season 3 Will Be a Hardening' (Exclusive)
Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) has finally found her calling on The Pitt. And it came from one of the most unlikely of places.
Over the course of Season 2 of the Emmy-winning medical drama, the gifted medical student has been trying to find the field she wants to pursue moving forward in her education. Has her time at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center given her interest in emergency medicine? Will she succumb to her mother's consistent pressure and follow in her footsteps into surgery? By the time the season finale hits, as she's finishing up her charting for the day, she vents to Whitaker (Gerran Howell), outright saying, "I'm considering law school."
"Look at what this place does to you," she continues, proceeding to list off the quirks and flaws of the entire main cast in one breath. "The more time I spend here, the more I realize the importance of my mental health."

"Well, maybe that's what you should focus on," Whitaker simply replies. It takes a second, but Javadi realizes he's absolutely correct. By the end of the episode, she tells Robby (Noah Wyle) her new path forward in medicine: Emergency psych.
"I think Javadi, particularly, is an interesting person to put in that space," Azeez tells Parade excitedly about the possibilities awaiting the character in Seaason 3, "because she's so sheltered and so privileged in so many ways. Learning socially is her sort of journey. She's really intellectually already really smart, but socially she's very sheltered, very coddled. Has lived a very strange and isolated life. And so I think emergency psych is the perfect place to throw that person, from a storytelling point of view. Because she's not the best equipped for it, but she's brave."
Below, Azeez talks more about her reaction to Javadi's new choice of career, and what she hopes to see from the character in Season 3.
Warrick Page/HBO Max
What was your first reaction when you found out that Javadi decided to go into emergency psych?
I've been interviewing a lot of doctors recently, and emergency psych is no joke. It's really intense. It requires a lot from the physicians who do it. Particularly emergency psych compared to psych, it's a really different space. I think Javadi, particularly, is an interesting person to put in that space, because she's so sheltered and so so privileged in so many ways. We sort of see that play out in Season 1 with the unhoused mom. She and McKay have a moment with that, where Victoria gets to learn a bit about what she doesn't know socially. And then Season 2, we see her with this other mom, and McKay again, seeing a version of what it is to be a kid and not have both of your parents.
Learning socially, I think, is her journey. She's really intellectually already really smart, but socially she's very sheltered, very coddled. She has lived a very strange and isolated life. And so I think emergency psych is the perfect place to throw that person, from a storytelling point of view. Because she's not the best equipped for it, but she's brave. Of all the characters, I really do believe she's one of the bravest in that she constantly does things she's bad at. She will ask people out on her first day at work. She never becomes avoidant. She just keeps going and keeps talking to them. She's acclimated to excellence, but not afraid of failure. And I think that is what you want from a physician.
It is interesting that her epiphany comes from talking about her noticing how much she saw emergency medicine being detrimental to the doctors' mental health around her. And, to your point, while others plod forward and take is as an occupational hazard, she questions whether it actually needs to be.
Completely. Just because it's this has been how it's been done forever, doesn't really mean to keep doing this. And I think Joy is like a great visual of that. "My shift is over. I'm leaving." And I've seen some great articles about that; it's a really interesting conversation. We expect our physicians to go above and beyond all the time. And so many doctors have side hustles. It's really incredible how many doctors are doing other things too. They are incredibly high achievers as a group. And the toll that takes, it doesn't really get talked about.
And I'm glad the show is talking about it in so many different ways. That you see Robby's mental health decline, you're seeing Langdon and his back, and the physical toll and the mental toll of that injury. And then all the way down to Javadi, who's brand new to this and has seen so much. She's so young, has really not been prepared for it by the system, because there's no time. So much of med school is like cramming information in just to be able to figure out what kind of skin disease that is, and what kind of dermatitis that is. I always say that it's almost impossible to succeed; there's only degrees of failure. Because it's just an impossible, Herculean task to be a med student.
Do you think her learning about the effect of the job on mental health will affect the way she views her mother at all, considering how complicated that relationship is?
As she gets older, as she experiences more, seeing why the physicians who mentor her are as unhealthy as they are mentally is a fascinating exercise in empathy for her. But also, really, it's painful to, I think, be ingratiated into a system that you know doesn't serve you fully, and that it will make you quite mentally unhealthy. The mental health outcomes for physicians are really low compared to other jobs, like other industries, and so I think for her, like, understanding her mom in that way is like, really something, but then also, I think it sort of just makes it more complex for her. It doesn't make it easier, it doesn't make it lighter. It just makes it more complex.
Do you know anything about what Victoria's storyline will be in Season 3?
I think these are questions I will be asking Scott. [Laughs.]
[Laughs.] Well, what are you hoping to see from her next season?
I think for me, Season 1 was about her growing as a person, learning skills, learning stuff. Season 2 feels like a cracking, like a shedding of skin. She's seeing the cracks, realizing what she doesn't know, really being ground down to zero. Like, "Today is hard, yeah."
After shedding skin, there's a hardening. And I think that Season 3 probably will be a hardening, unfortunately. And I think there's an attempt at retaining softness. You become world-weary. You want to stay curious and young and fresh, and you want to stay open, even as the world is like hitting you while you're down.
She is, to me, The Pitt's coming of age story. She's the youngest one. She knows so little, and she knows so much. She's so strange, she's so isolated. She's so unlike anybody else, but she definitely wants to be like everybody else. And she's finding herself. She doesn't know who she is in these really fundamental ways. And so I think I really like how messy that coming-of-age story will be. I really hope it continues to be as messy.
'Outlander' Stars React to That Shocking and Devastating Death: 'I Was Very Happy' (Exclusive)
In a shocking twist on Outlander’s seventh episode of its eighth and final season, a fire at Fergus’ (César Domboy) print shop in Savannah takes his life rather than the life of his son Henri-Christian (Benjamin Moss), which is what happens in Diana Gabaldon’s eighth book, Written in My Own Heart's Blood.
Fans of Gabaldon’s books were shocked by the switch, but Domboy says he knew about Fergus's demise going into the season.
“Basically, when [showrunners] Matt [Roberts] and Maril [Davis] approached me to ask me to do a final season of Outlander that wasn't planned originally, and welcomed me back on the show, we discussed what Fergus's arc would be,” Domboy tells Parade in an exclusive interview. "They said what happens in the book with Henri-Christian wasn't really matching with ending the show like that, and that we could beautifully wrap Fergus's storyline, having him doing the ultimate courageous move to save his kids instead. I was very happy with that. I thought it was really, really cool to wrap his storyline.”
Both Domboy and Lauren Lyle, who plays his wife Marsali, managed to keep the surprise a secret for more than a year, since Outlander wrapped in September 2024, and Lyle thinks there’s something legendary about it.
“I also think it's iconic as an actor, to be a character in a show that gets killed in the most romantic of ways,” she said.
And Domboy added, “What I can tell you is that I wasn't mad or sad, because I knew I made it before the last episode. So come on, you know what I mean?”

“It also gives Marsali a really beautiful, love story ending as well,” Lyle adds. “She grieves the love of her life, rather than it being so horrific that it's her child. She's able to grieve something that, for the Outlander world, is so laced in love and romance. I think it's almost more impactful in a way that she's left with -- there's a line in it -- she's left with pieces of him in the kids.”
Closer to Fergus’ storyline in the book is his rejection of a dubious offer by Percy Beauchamp (Michael Lindall), who comes to Fergus with a deal. He has proof that Fergus, who was raised as an orphan in a brothel in Paris, is actually the son of the Comte St. Germaine, who disappeared years earlier. As the Comte’s legitimate heir, all Fergus has to do is come forward and claim his inheritance and then sell Percy a parcel of land that the Comte owned in North America to found a French colony.

But Fergus, who was adopted by Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), passes on the offer, saying, “I am already the son of a great man.”
“Fergus is definitely not a businessman,” Domboy jokes. Then more seriously, he says, “This is one thing I can tell you. It's too hard for him. There's a saying [that goes], 'There's money that costs too much to earn,' and I think this is that kind for Fergus. He cannot wrap his head around having to recognize being the son of a man that he has hated his whole life. And also, it's a way for him to really acknowledge that he's the son of Jamie Fraser, and this is worth more than anything to him.”
Fergus’ romantic approach to life may not be the same for Marsali. By sacrificing his life to save his kids, Fergus has given them something more important than money, but also left them with a void. His death now opens up the decision to Marsali, whose eldest son Germain (Robin Scott) is now the legitimate heir. And she no longer has a husband to support her.

“I think Marsali knows that she needs to look after her family, and will do whatever she needs to do to do that,” Lyle says. “A woman of the time will do what they need to do to survive. She's always done that. I also think she's got a little bit of bite from [her mother] Laoghaire, like doing maybe the harsher thing, or doing the more selfish thing. She's like a lioness with her kids, and she'll just do what she needs to do to make sure that they're safe, like any mother would."

Fergus’ death brings an end to the love story between Fergus and Marsali – at least on the TV series – but they are popular enough that they earned a ship name. Their loyal fans christened them "Fersali." Here’s their goodbye:
Lauren Lyle, César DomboyCourtesy: STARZ
“It's never farewell to the fans,” Domboy says. “The show's over. But they'll stay with us ,and we'll stay with them forever. We'll see them around the world. It was a pleasure. I'm forever grateful for that fan base. And I love them.”
And Lyle adds, “I don’t think I've ever experienced anything like it, and I'm not sure that I ever will again. Who knows? It’s a genuine honor to be in people's living rooms and to meet everyone and to see the impact it's made around the world. And for them to have changed my life. I do feel like Outlander has changed my life, so I'll forever love Marsali Jane MacKimmie Fraser, and all the space that came with Fersali as a couple, I really wouldn't have done it with anyone else.”
Outlander will air new episodes each Friday at midnight ET on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms; and at 8 p.m. ET/PT/7 Central on the linear network.

'80s Hard Rock Frontman, 67, 'Looks And Sounds Great' At Recent Tour Stop 40 Years After Band's Debut
Tesla lead singer Jeff Keith, 67, is still belting out hits like it’s 1986. The infamous, if underrated, rock frontman helped carve out the band’s sound with his distinctive, raspy vocal style. At a recent tour stop, Jeff Keith put his emotionally charged vocals on full display, leaving fans in awe as they sang along to his cover of Climax Blues Band’s "I Love You."
Tesla’s Rise and Signature SoundFormed in 1981 in Sacramento, California, Tesla (originally called City Kidd) rose to prominence in the mid-to-late 1980s thanks to a bluesy hard rock sound that stood apart from the glam metal style that dominated the era. The band’s sound was defined in part by Keith’s ability to deliver emotionally charged performances, setting him apart from his more performative contemporaries.
Jeff Keith continues to front the band 40 years after the release of Tesla’s debut album Mechanical Resonance and still tours regularly. At a recent stop in Milwaukee, WI, Keith delivered another standout performance, covering Climax Blues Band’s 1980 hit "I Love You."

"dam his voice is still awesome," observed one fan. Another added, "Tesla was soooo underrated! probably my fave band ever."
"This is one of my favorite songs," commented another. "Love classic rock! They don’t make music like this any more."
"Tesla was known to be a band who would cover a song better than the original, and hard to beat as an acoustic set," shared one more.
"Dude can still sing," noted another.
A Lasting Legacy in Rock Music @teslatheband#soundcheck #vegas #residency #rocknroll #deepcuts
♬ original sound - TeslaForty years after the release of their first album, Tesla and Jeff Keith are still going strong, partly thanks to Keith’s grounded vocals and expert skill. While other hard rock and metal bands of the 1980s relied on image and antics over craftsmanship, Tesla focused on songwriting and musicianship, with Keith’s vocals helping define the band’s identity.
Tesla became known for its stripped-down acoustic sets and covers of other artists’ songs, often performing them in ways fans felt rivaled or even surpassed the originals. The band broke through with the release of Mechanical Resonance, but their 1990 acoustic live album Five Man Acoustical Jam helped pave the way for the singer-songwriter era that followed and the "unplugged" sound that artists in the 1990s embraced, even helping to inspire the MTV concert series "Unplugged."
Jeff Keith’s recent performance puts his vocal skill on display and proves that, 40 years later, Tesla is still here to stay. The band just announced the release of their new album, Homage, which contains covers including "I Love You," set to be released on July 17, 2206.
Stephen King Cites 'Lord of the Flies' As the Novel That Made Him Want to Become a Writer
Like every artist, best-selling novelist Stephen King has been collectively shaped by a variety of influences, from the personal surroundings of his New England childhood to more immediate inspirations found in books, movies and TV shows.
While the 78-year-old writer has long remained candid about certain key pieces of literature that helped shape his interest in writing, perhaps no book had a more immediate impact on King than the classic 1954 horror novel, Lord of the Flies.
A thrilling novel commonly taught in schools across the country, Lord of the Flies famously follows a group of British school boys who find themselves stranded on a deserted island following a devastating plane crash.
As they attempt to survive in their new environment, the boys slowly devolve into primal violence, leading to fatal consequences for some of the boys in the group.
In the past, King has repeatedly emphasized the life-changing significance of reading Lord of the Flies at a younger age. As King wrote in the foreword to the Centenary Edition of the book, "To me Lord of the Flies has always represented what novels are for, what makes them indispensable."
At a speaking event, King went on to say emphasize the deeper meaning he found in the novel, as well as hos profoundly the book's ending opened his eyes to the possibilities of complex storytelling.
As readers might remember, Lord of the Flies concludes with the timely arrival of British sailors, preventing the boys from falling further into a primal state.
"Golding writers in the afterword, and I never forgot this, he says, 'The sailors saved the boys, but who will save the sailors?'" the Shining author remembered. "And it kind of opened my eyes and I thought, 'Wait a minute, there's a whole other level to this story right here.'"

Over 130 Authors Walk Away From Major Publisher in Stunning Industry Revolt
A dramatic split inside one of France’s most respected publishing houses is drawing global attention, as more than 130 authors have walked away in protest of a leadership shakeup that many see as a turning point for the industry.
The mass departure centers on Éditions Grasset, a historic imprint under the Hachette Livre umbrella. The move follows the abrupt firing of longtime CEO Olivier Nora, who had led the publisher for more than two decades and was widely viewed as a stabilizing force for authors.
In the days since his removal, a wide coalition of writers, including some of France’s most prominent literary voices, announced they would no longer publish with the company. Their decision was formalized in an open letter that quickly gained traction across international media.
The authors argue that Nora’s dismissal signals a deeper shift in editorial direction tied to growing influence from billionaire media owner Vincent Bolloré, whose company controls Hachette. Many of the signatories say they fear that creative independence is being replaced by ideological oversight.
'We refuse to be hostages in an ideological war,' the group wrote, framing their exit as a stand for artistic freedom rather than a contract dispute.
The scale of the protest is unusual in modern publishing. While authors occasionally change imprints or agents, coordinated departures of this size are rare, particularly from a major house with decades of literary prestige. Some writers are now exploring legal avenues to regain control of their previously published works, which could further complicate the situation.

For readers, the implications are less immediate but still meaningful. Publishing houses influence which voices are amplified and which stories reach a broad audience. When a large group of authors publicly questions that system, it raises concerns about how books are selected, marketed and distributed.
The dispute also arrives as the publishing industry is already navigating consolidation, digital disruption and shifting reader habits. Questions about ownership and influence are not limited to France, and similar debates have surfaced in other media sectors in recent years.
What happens next remains uncertain. Some of the departing authors are expected to seek new publishing homes, while others may delay upcoming projects as contracts and rights are sorted out.
For now, the episode stands as a rare and highly visible rupture in a traditionally quiet industry, one that is now facing a broader issue about who controls the stories readers ultimately see.
2002 Criminally Underrated Tom Hanks Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’
Rotten Tomatoes has compiled a list of the “300 Best Movies of All Time.” Topping the list are iconic films like The Godfather, Seven Samurai, Casablanca, and Rear Window. However, there are some hidden gems further down the list, like the underrated Steven Spielberg film, Catch Me If You Can.
This 2003 crime comedy-drama starred Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. The film was based on the supposedly true story of Frank Abagnale, Jr. He was a mastermind of deception who worked as a phony doctor, teacher, attorney, and co-pilot, all before he turned 18. He went on to be called one of the most successful bank robbers in history.
Abagnale was portrayed by DiCaprio with Hanks playing FBI Agent Carl Hanratty, whose mission was to take down the criminal. Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, James Brolin, and Martin Sheen also made appearances in the film. Walken was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 75thAcademy Awards and composer John Williams was nominated for Best Original Score.
Catch Me If You Can grossed $352 million worldwide, making it a commercial success. It currently has a 96% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an 89% audience score. It even went on to become a musical in 2011. It was nominated for several Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical and Best Actor in a Musical.
As one reviewer said when speaking about the film, “The script is smart, the cast is perfectly chosen, and every element, music, editing, cinematography are top notch. It moves beautifully and has more than a few laugh-out-loud moments along the way.”

Another reviewer raved, “Catch Me If You Can is probably one of the best films amongst Spielberg's minor titles, [which says more about] the man's talent than it says anything negatively about the film.”
The real Abagnale made a cameo in the film as a French police officer. The script was based off the autobiography that he co-wrote with Stan Redding in 1980, which was also named Catch Me If You Can. However, journalists have investigated the claims made in his book and found no evidence to support most of his stories.
'Survivor' Winner Vulnerably Shares What Happened to Her Body After the Show
Survivor 49winner and Survivor 50 contestant Savannah Louie, 32, opened up to fans about what happened to her body during the show, and the weight gain and inflammation she dealt with for months after.
Louie took to Instagram to share two side-by-side photos of herself, with the one on the left being from two months before she played Survivor for the first time, and two months after being voted out of Survivor 50. "The body on the right is about 30 pounds heavier," she explained. "Both of these bodies are beautiful, but it was wild to see my body change so quickly in such a short time period and feeling like I had no control over what I was consuming."

While Survivor players infamously lose a lot of weight while surviving on only rice, coconuts, and whatever they can catch in the ocean or win during challenges—earlier seasons even gave the players a mirror before the final tribal and told them how much they lost—Louie says the dramatic weight loss and unusual diet leads to lasting problems back home.
"All that weight loss—it is so temporary," she said. "When you get back around food, you are just insatiable. My body was also really inflamed. Eventually, you do reach a point where you stop craving a whole box of cookies, because that's what I would do—I would literally eat an entire box of cookies in one sitting."
View this post on InstagramThe fan-favorite player admitted that struggling with her weight and food intake was hard for her, which is why she's choosing to open up about her battle now. "I felt really alone and I felt like I was going crazy," she said. "You don't have to play Survivor to have a warped mindset around food. So if there's anyone out there who's feeling maybe the same way, I just hope that they feel less alone."
In the comments, many other Survivor players admitted they went through the same thing. Survivor 44 winner Carolyn Wiger took to the comments to share that she "struggled with this too."
"I’m glad you’re sharing this... I couldn’t tell when I was actually full so I would just keep eating because I constantly felt like I was starving," she wrote. "It was as if I couldn’t stop eating." Wiger and Louie both said that CBS was very supportive as they dealt with the problem, with Wiger saying they got her a nutritionist and Louie working with a therapist.
It isn't just the women who struggled with disordered eating after getting home from the show. Four-time player Benjamin "Coach" Wade, who most recently appeared on Survivor 50, commented, "Post Survivor bod sucks, especially at 54."
"I've got to get a handle of my eating and my exercise," he added. "This time around it's been brutal."
Louie's situation was particularly tough because she went straight from winning Survivor 49 into filming for Survivor 50, so she had very little time to get her diet back in order between them. After 26 days on Survivor 49 from April 20 to May 15, 2025, she started filming for the milestone season on June 5, 2025. Nearly a year later, Louie says that her "weight eventually stabilized" and she "feels like [she 's] at a normal point" now.
