'Heated Rivalry' Star Hard Launches Longtime Girlfriend on Valentine's Day
Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams surprised fans on Valentine's Day 2026 by revealing he has a girlfriend, and has been in a relationship with her for quite some time!
"Happy Valentine's Day," the 25-year-old wrote beside six sweet photos with his ladylove on his Instagram Story on Feb. 14, including one that shows the couple having dinner with Williams' Heated Rivalrycostar and bestie, Connor Storrie, 25.

The post proved Williams has been dating his partner, whose name is still unknown, since before he got famous, adding, "With me since my 2000 gold Mazda protege smoked and squealed and I had no job."

The images sparked both support and criticism from fans. "Hudson marking his turf with his gorgeous girl and his beautiful man Connor," teased one fan, while another added, "They are cute! And Connie baby being included is everything to me." "Good on him for appreciating the people in his life that's [sic] been there from the start," shared a third.
Others accused Williams, who has not previously spoken out about his sexuality but plays a gay character in the hit show, of "queer-baiting." "Good thing I never watched it. I have no interest in straight actors in queer roles anymore. You all enjoy it," wrote one frustrated follower, while another warned him that Williams' relationship with a woman does not preclude him from being queer. "Bisexual ppl exist btw," they wrote.

Williams has intentionally kept his sexual orientation and relationship status private, until now. “I think there’s never a question for me, when I would dream of becoming in the public eye, that I would want just a level of privacy," he told Deadline in December 2025.
When it came to his relationship with his costar, though, he had plenty to say. “I want queer people telling queer stories, but also, there’s the element of Connor and I—we’re best friends, and we love expressing that physically,” he said. “You see people who infer or assume, and you kind of have to let that go. But then again, I never wanna stop expressing the love I have for Connor physically, and I’m never really going to.”
Even Heated Rivalry director Jacob Tierney worked to protect the stars' privacy. When asked if they feel the need to talk about their personal lives, Tierney chimed in. “I’ll answer this for them. I don’t think there’s any reason to get into that stuff,” he told Xtra in December 2025. “I’ll tell you something about the casting of both of these roles. You can’t ask questions like that when you’re casting, right? It’s actually against the law.”

Iconic ’90s Rock Band Could Release New Music for the First Time in 18 Years
After a 16-year break, Liam and Noel Gallagher returned for an Oasis reunion tour in late 2025. Now, the brothers are rumored to be planning a 2027 comeback with a tour and new music.
On Saturday, an insider reached out to the Sun to tease new information regarding a possible upcoming return. The source explained that while the brothers are taking a much-needed break after their reunion tour, they aren't quite done with the band yet.
"Noel and Liam are taking a well-deserved break from the road this year to recuperate," the source said. "But they know the fans are hungry for more so they want to strike while the iron is hot."
According to the mole, lead guitarist and primary songwriter Noel has been busy writing new material all year, finding inspiration in the hectic touring schedule. “Noel has been busy writing and they have all year to record. He was really inspired last year and is full of ideas.” This news is perfectly timed, as Noel is set to receive "Songwriter of The Year" BRIT award later this month.
If confirmed, this potential album will mark the bands first full-length album since 2008, when they released their seventh studio album, Dig Out Your Soul.
Noel Gallagher of Oasis performs live on stage at Luna theater on October 31, 1995 in Brussels, Belgium. Why Did They Split?Oasis spilt in late 2009 after severe infighting took place between Noel and Liam. The brothers had a physical altercation backstage of the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, leading to the cancellation of their set and the remainder of their tour.
Until August 2024, the two kept their 15-year-long feud alive, commonly throwing insults back and forth through the press, so their reunion tour announcement came as a pleasant surprise to fans. After the reunion tour concluded without issue, longtime fans began sharing possible comeback theories.
Now, those hopeful prospects regarding new material don't seem so far off.

I Tried Martina McBride’s Creamy Chicken Tortilla Soup and It Genuinely Surprised Me
In the cold winter months, I love nothing more than channeling my inner George Costanza and going full "soup mode." I love my grandmother's chicken soup, my favorite pho from the takeout place down the street and my mom's split pea with a corn muffin on the side. I don't discriminate when it comes to soup. I love it all.
However, when it's time to make a batch, most of my go-to soup recipes fall into one of two camps: either thin and brothy that you can sip like a cup of tea or a hearty stew that's basically a full meal in a mug.
So when I came across Martina McBride's Creamy Chicken Tortilla Soup, which McBride shared with Parade, I was intrigued. The recipe comes from the country singer's cookbook, Martina’s Kitchen Mix, and it promises something a little different. Its creamy texture comes from three different kinds of dairy (four if you top it with cheese) and there are two kinds of beans, plus a kick of heat mixed in with the juicy shredded chicken.
McBride knew what she was doing here. This recipe lands squarely in the cozy, comforting territory—it's the kind of soup you want bubbling away on the stove when it’s cold and dark and you need dinner to feel like a big hug while you're snuggled under your electric blanket on the couch (just me?).
To make sure the recipe was as tasty as it looked online, I headed to the kitchen to give it a try. I had most of the ingredients I needed already, which I took as a sign. Read on to find out exactly how to make the spicy soup, plus the tips you need to know to get it just right.

For this soup, grab boneless, skinless chicken breasts, kosher salt, black pepper, chicken broth, canola oil, a yellow onion, jalapeño, garlic, chili powder (or chipotle chili powder), cumin, paprika, canned tomatoes with diced green chiles, masa harina or finely ground corn tortillas, milk, black beans, pinto beans, corn, heavy cream and sour cream, along with your favorite garnishes, like diced avocado, cilantro and shredded Mexican cheese.

How To Make Martina McBride’s Creamy Chicken Tortilla SoupCourtesy of Jessica Wrubel
McBride starts by cooking the chicken in the oven with broth until tender, then she shreds it and sets it aside. Next, onion, jalapeño and garlic are sautéed in a soup pot until softened. Once the vegetables are soft, the remaining broth, the reserved cooking liquid from the chicken pan, chili powder, cumin, paprika and tomatoes are added to the veggies.

Masa (or ground corn tortillas) mixed with milk goes in next to thicken the soup, followed by the shredded chicken, beans and corn. She finishes the soup with cream and sour cream, and garnishes the bowl with more avocado, cheese and more sour cream.

My Honest Thoughts About This SoupCourtesy of Jessica Wrubel
I love a good chicken soup with all the toppings, and this one hits in the very best way. It’s hearty without being too heavy, and just spicy enough that you can enjoy it without needing a glass of milk on the side (after all, this is dinner, not an episode of Hot Ones). I’ve made countless variations of chicken tortilla soup over the years, but this one genuinely surprised me.
The balance of flavors is truly out of this world. McBride nailed the amounts of everything here. I've never added sour cream, milk and cream to a soup before (usually, for me, it's just finishing with cream, something I'm a huge fan of), but the sour cream adds a subtle tang, which is absolutely delicious with the rest of the bold flavors.
The other unexpected twist (at least to me) was using masa or tortillas to thicken the soup. I went with the corn tortilla option, grinding them up and mixing them with milk, as McBride instructs. I loved the texture and flavor the tortillas brought to the dish.
Courtesy of Jessica Wrubel
I ate two bowls for lunch the day I made the soup and then went back for dinner the next night. And I have to say, like most things, it was even more flavorful the next day after the flavors had time to really get to know each other. This one, for me, is a total keeper.

2 Tips for Making This Tortilla Soup1. Work smarter, not harderInstead of baking the chicken in the oven, I cooked it in the pot I was using for the soup to keep it a mostly one-pot meal. That method was much easier and just as effective (in my opinion). The only adjustment I made was adding a little more broth to the soup because McBride bakes the chicken with broth and then adds that to the dish.
2. Use what you haveI didn't have a bag of masa harina, but I did have my trusty Trader Joe's corn tortillas, so I took about 4 of them and ground them up in the food processor, then whisked with the milk and added to the soup pot. I'm definitely keeping this trick in mind for future soups.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Glove Found 2 Miles From Home 'Matches' Ones in Suspect Video & DNA Results Are Pending
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing as the search enters its third week — however, police recently confirmed that a glove found 2 miles from the 84-year-old's Tucson home "matches" ones in a video of a potential suspect, and that DNA results are pending.
On Sunday, Feb. 15, new details emerged in an update from the FBI, per CNN.
In a statement from the FBI, it was confirmed that the glove—one of "approximately" 16 that investigators found near Nancy's residence—also contained DNA. Most of the other gloves reportedly belonged to searchers who discarded them while working in the area.
“The one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video,” the FBI said.
Now, the FBI is waiting on the final test results on the glove, a process that usually takes 24 hours.
On Feb. 10, investigators released photos and a video clip from Nancy's doorbell camera footage showing a masked person of interest wearing gloves and a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack. On Feb. 11, a video published by the New York Post showed investigators recovering a black glove as potential evidence in Nancy's case.

Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost,… pic.twitter.com/z5WLgPtZpT
In recent days, investigators also conducted a court-authorized search in Rio Rico, Ariz., detaining—and then releasing—a man named Carlos Palazuelos for questioning. TMZ has also reportedly received several emails (that have not been authenticated by investigators) from someone alleging to have information about Nancy’s captor in exchange for Bitcoin. Most recently, on Feb. 13, SWAT raided a house and vehicle in Tucson, detaining a man for questioning but later releasing him, following a tip.
Overnight on Feb. 13 and into Feb 14, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) executed a search warrant about 2 miles from Nancy’s home, CNN reported. More than a dozen vehicles from SWAT and forensics swarmed the residence, detained a man for questioning, and released him. No arrests were made. Additionally, FBI agents inspected a Range Rover in the parking lot of a restaurant just blocks away from the raided home.
Meanwhile, identifying DNA evidence not belonging to anyone "close" to Nancy was found on her property.
Savannah's mother remains missing, as of writing.
Those with any information about Nancy’s missing case are advised to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
Maya Hawke Says ‘I Do’ in Romantic V-Day Wedding With Star-Studded ‘Stranger Things’ Guest List
Love was clearly in the air this Valentine’s Day for one Stranger Things star.
Maya Hawke and musician Christian Lee Hutson officially tied the knot on Saturday, February 14, in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends and family. According to multiple outlets, including PEOPLE and DeuxMoi, the 27-year-old actress said “I do” while her famous parents, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, proudly looked on.
In photos obtained by those outlets, the bride stunned in a white wedding gown paired with an oversized, feathery winter coat, while Hutson, 35, opted for a classic tuxedo. According to PEOPLE, the ceremony drew a star-studded crowd, including several of Hawke’s Stranger Things co-stars: Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Caleb McLaughlin and Charlie Heaton, along with one of the Duffer brothers. Friends Kathryn Newton, Sam Nivola and Iris Apatow were also in attendance, per DeuxMoi.
Thurman wore a light blue gown with matching shoes, while Ethan kept it sleek in an all-black ensemble. The former couple, who were married from 1998 to 2005, reunited for their daughter’s big day alongside Maya’s brother Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke.
Hutson previously confirmed their engagement during a SoCal Sound Session interview last year when the host referred to Hawke as his “fiancée,” to which he replied, “Yeah.” Just weeks later, Hawke was photographed in Manhattan wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
Beyond her personal milestone, it’s a major professional moment for Hawke as well. Her father recently praised the final season of Stranger Things, telling Access Hollywood, “I am so proud of her. I am so proud of that whole group of people that made that show.” He added, “They took care of every character, obviously Robin is my favorite.”After the series wraps, Hawke is set to appear in The Hunger Games prequel Sunrise on the Reaping, proving that 2026 is shaping up to be a banner year—both on screen and off.

James Van Der Beek's Friends Helped Him Purchased $4.8M Home Just One Month Before His Death
James Van Der Beek made a major life decision just weeks before his death.
The Dawson’s Creek alum officially purchased the Texas ranch he had been renting with his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, and their six children, closing on the property on January 9 for $4.76 million, according to Realtor.com.
The off-market deal secured the Austin-area home the family had been living in since 2020. Just over a month later, on February 11, Van Der Beek died at age 48 following a years-long battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer.
In the days after his passing, friends organized a GoFundMe to support Kimberly and the couple’s children. The campaign quickly gained traction, raising more than $2.6 million from nearly 50,000 donors. But the fundraiser also sparked online criticism, with some questioning why financial help was needed given Van Der Beek’s successful acting career and recent multimillion-dollar home purchase.
His representative addressed those concerns directly. “James secured down payment for the Texas ranch for the family with the help of friends through a trust so they could shift from rent to mortgage,” the rep told Page Six on Saturday.
The conversation intensified when it was revealed that Steven Spielbergand his wife, Kate Capshaw, donated $25,000 to the fundraiser. The contribution was significant—but not everyone saw it that way.
“Steven Spielberg donating $25k is like me donating $25,” one user wrote on X. Another added, “$25k to SS is like finding a couple of quid down the back of the sofa.”
READ MORE: Steven Spielberg Called ‘Cheapskate’ For Donation to James Van Der Beek’s GoFundMe
On Threads, a commenter said, “Steven Spielberg donated $25,000. That’s still not a lot,” while another argued, “If I have the money that Steven Spielberg has I will donate easily 2 million in a lump sum.”
At the same time, others defended the filmmaker, noting his longstanding connection to Van Der Beek through Dawson’s Creek, where the actor’s character famously idolized Spielberg. Supporters called the gesture meaningful regardless of the amount, pointing out that the fundraiser’s rapid growth reflects broad community backing.

'I've Tried Every Rhode Beauty Product—Here Are the 5 I Recommend for Mature Skin'
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Hailey Bieber's beauty brand Rhode made a big splash in 2022 with just three products. Although still relatively small, the line now has 13 staples, and was purchased by E.L.F. Beauty in May 2025 for a staggering $800 million in cash and stocks with another $200 million to follow if it hits certain growth markers.
The hype around Rhode is likely due to Bieber's star status and huge social media following, and E.L.F. wanted to add her Gen Alpha fans to their millennial and Gen Z base, according to The New York Times.
I'm sure E.L.F will be happy to hear that some Gen-Xers and Boomers want to be part of the party, too. While its not marketed towards an older crowd, Rhode presents a focus on skin health and a concern for skin sensitivity, since most of the products are fragrance free and suitable for reactive skin, and Bieber herself has opened up about bouts of perioral dermatitis.
Since skin dryness and sensitivity can worsen as we age, I wanted to find out if the trendy line could be beneficial for mature skin as well. Below are my top picks from the Rhode line for mature skin.

I'm in my late 40s, and I used the Rhode skincare and makeup products for two weeks, replacing my regular skincare routine. I continued to use some of my everyday products that aren't available through the line, including a vitamin C serum in the morning and a retinol every other night. Rhode just came out with two new products that I didn't test, the caffeine reset sculpting cream mask and the peptide lip boost plumping lip mask.
I think it's important to mention that I tested these products during the dead of winter—the end of January and beginning of February 2026 in New York, where it's been very cold and my skin is a lot drier than normal.

Rhode
The glazing milk is my favorite of the bunch. It's a milky toner that you use at the start of your skincare routine right after cleansing, and if you don't already use a hydrating toner, this would be a great addition for mature skin.
I used it before putting on my vitamin C serum, and it was nice to have an extra layer of hydration during these dry winter months. The consistency is very thin, and you should give the liquid a good shake before applying.
Rhode
Like the Glazing Milk, Rhode recommends using the Glazing Mist right after cleansing. It can also be used after moisturizer, under or over makeup or "whenever skin needs a refresh," so I put the bottle on my desk next to my computer and gave myself a little spritz here and there during the day, which felt restorative and helped my dry winter skin.
The mist would make an excellent travel companion, especially on a long flight, since it contains an amino acid that they say "binds water molecules to the skin to keep it hydrated, even in dry and hot environments."
Rhode
If we weren't yet glazed enough, this Peptide Glazing Fluid follows the Glazing Milk or Glazing Mist for additional hydration with marula oil, peptides, niacinamide and glycerine. I like it because it absorbs quickly and adds a temporary dewy glimmer. This is a good option for someone who likes a lightweight moisturizer with no fragrance.
4. Barrier Butter, $36Rhode
If you're into skin slugging, the Barrier Butter would be a great swap for petroleum jelly. If you haven't tried it or don't know what it is, skin slugging means finishing your skincare routine with an occlusive layer that forms a barrier to prevent moisture loss as you sleep.
If you suffer from chronically dry skin, it can be a good idea to seal in your moisturizing skincare ingredients before bed, and this butter can be used on both face and body.

I've struggled to find a cute lip gloss that actually hydrates and feels like a balm. This lip tint will be one of my go-tos for the winter since the below-freezing weather is causing me to apply lip care about 800 times a day.
This has peptides, shea butter and vitamin E, and though it feels a bit sticky at first, it melts in and feels smooth and silky after a couple of minutes. It comes in seven core shades, in addition to some limited edition options. The color is subtle, so it doesn't look out of place when you're not wearing makeup.

Overall, I think the Rhode skincare line is suitable for mature skin. That's not to say it should be your top pick if you're over 40, since it's not specifically formulated for aging skin. Still, many of the products have dermatologists' favorite ingredients for hydration and skin barrier protection (like ceramides, peptides and hyaluronic acid).
If you have mature skin, you'll still want to invest in products that the line doesn't have, like vitamin C and a retinoid (along with a gentle exfoliator), but your bathroom shelf could certainly be supplemented with products from Rhode as well.

I didn't notice a huge improvement in my skin after the test, perhaps because I already use hydrating and anti-aging skincare products regularly. Although I didn't see a significant change, I did find the line hydrating and enjoyed the look and feel of it. There are two products I would purchase again and again: the glazing milk and the glazing mist, and three others I feel confident recommending for individuals over 40.
All of the Rhode "glazing" products are meant to give you a glossy polish (like a glazed doughnut), but I'm happy to say they didn't make me shiny (a quality that doesn't work well for mature skin because it can draw attention to texture and wrinkles).

’80s Rocker Sends Clear Message on Canceling 50th Anniversary Tour
In early February, Dee Snider, frontman of iconic '80s heavy metal band Twisted Sister, announced his departure from the band due to health concerns. This sudden retirement startled fans, leaving the remaining members of Twisted Sister with no choice other than to cancel the group's upcoming 50th anniversary tour. Although news of his worsening health left fans worried, Snider reassured them.
On a recent episode of House of Hair, a radio show hosted by Snider, the 70-year-old frontman made an additional statement regarding his health. He explained that while he is taking it easy, he is by no means dying.
"The rumors have run wild that I am on my deathbed," Snider said. "I am not. I just can't do those things that I did in my 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and even 60s. All right? Otherwise I'm alive and well. I'm enjoying life."
From left, Twisted Sister's Mark Mendoza, Eddie Ojeda, Dee Snider, A.J. Pero and Jay Jay French pose for studio group portrait.Snider's decision to step away from the band was brought on by a series of health concerns, including struggles with degenerative arthritis in his shoulders, high blood pressure and a recent hip replacement surgery. While he loves to be on stage, Snider knew he would not be able to keep up with his past performances. He went on to thank fans for their support during this change.
"You won't see me on the stage kicking ass like I used to because that will mess me up," Snider explained, going on to share his gratitude. "Thank you very much for cheering me on. I'm OK. I just can't do that anymore. And you know what? The truth of the matter is: I don't want you to see me up there being less than you expect me to be. You got memories of a great show that I did? That's what I want to leave you with."
While the upcoming anniversary tour has been canceled, the remaining classic-era members, guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, are working to find solutions for the future of Twisted Sister.

Savannah Guthrie's Mom New Lead? Investigators Ask Residents to Review Camera Footage From January 11
As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, investigators are asking for the public's help once more. According to local Tucson news station KVOA, residents have been asked to review any camera footage they have from two specific dates. One of the dates is the night that Nancy, 84, disappeared. The other? Is January 11.
Residents who live north of Nancy's home, from the northern most part of Ina Road and going west to La Cholla Boulevard, south to River Road and west to the end of Roller Coaster Road have been asked to carefully check any footage from security cameras or doorbell cameras outside their homes.

Investigators are specifically seeking anything that seems out of the ordinary from 10 p.m. on January 11 through 1 a.m. on January 12—a full two weeks prior to Nancy's disappearance. Per KVOA, authorities are also seeking footage from the night Nancy went missing—January 31 from 11 p.m. through 4 a.m. on February 1.
The request comes on the heels of a raid at a home about two miles away from Nancy's place in the Catalina Foothills of Arizona. Authorities detained three people, but all have been released, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos—even the person of interest.
As far as what will happen next, the Pima County Sheriff's Department has told the public to expect more police activity like what was seen on the night of Friday, Feb. 13. Moreover, in an interview with The New York Times, Sheriff Nanos warned that the investigation could take "years."
There hasn't been a suspect or person of interest named in the case and Sheriff Nanos has said that no one has been completely ruled out.
’90s Rocker Addresses Potential Reunion Ahead of 2026 Farewell Tour
As the heavy metal band Megadeth begins to embark on their 2026 farewell tour, a former band member has publicly spoken out in hopes to take part in the performances.
Founding member David Ellefson — who was with the band from its conception in 1983 until its dissolution in 2002, and then again after rejoining the band in 2010 until leaving in 2021 — shared with UnDinamo - La última Radio de Rock in an interview on Wednesday that if given the opportunity, the bassist would love to reunite with Megadeth on stage.
"I have always said that I am available for that," Ellefson said during the interview. "And I would do it because I think any reason that I'm not there now is unfounded. It's untruthful and it's unfair because clearly there's nothing wrong."

— BLABBERMOUTH.NET (@BLABBERMOUTHNET) February 12, 2026Ellefson was removed from Megadeth in 2021 after frontman Dave Mustaine released a statement saying that Ellefson had been accused of alleged sexual misconduct with an underage fan after explicit videos were leaked online. Ellefson has continued to deny the allegations, and the other party has also denied that they were underaged during the time of the videos.
RELATED: Legendary Metal Band Reaches New High With Final Album
In the interview on Wednesday, Ellefson said that he hopes his former bandmates would be willing to resolve any of the tension that still remains following his departure. "I would hope and even pray to [God] that any misunderstanding, any bitterness would be removed — that that would somehow be dissipated."
In 2023, former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman — who left the band in 2000 — was invited to perform with the band during two different live concerts in Tokyo, Japan, and Wacken, Germany. Ellefson said that Friedman's guest appearances prove that a reunion could be possible.
"I can't speak for anyone else, but I would wish that Dave [Mustaine]… Look, if it were just me and Dave sitting here, I'm sure everything would be fine. But there's a lot of people with influences, and that can be sticky," Ellefson said.
He also added that he hopes that fans will vocalize their interest in a reunion to prove that it's something they want to see. "My hope is that the voice of the fans gets louder than any other voice that would tear it apart," he said.
But a recent interview with Mustaine in Guitar World shows that the likelihood of Ellefson being invited back to perform is still slim. "That would be a huge undertaking," Mustaine said about inviting more Megadeth alumni back. "I don’t think I want to do that. I’d rather keep doing what we’re doing and let the fans [experience] Megadeth music and be happy about it. It’s not 'puppet show Megadeth.'"
Megadeth's global farewell tour kicks off on Tuesday in Abbotsford, Canada, and is expected to end on Sept. 29 in San Antonio, Texas.

Billy Joel's 'Chick Song' That Got The Seal of Approval From This Legendary '70s Female Rocker
Billy Joel was at a pivotal moment while recording his iconic album The Stranger, and it took the encouragement of a legendary ’70s female rocker to include what would become one of the LP's most beloved songs.
In a 2008 interview with MassLive, Joel shared how the fate of "Just The Way You Are" hung in the balance until two famous female singers, Linda Ronstadt and Phoebe Snow, gave the song their overwhelming stamp of approval. Their input convinced Joel the tune was worth taking a chance on.
"We just went in to make as good a record as we could. I didn't think at the time it was going to be a big commercial hit," Joel said of The Stranger. "Just The Way You Are" was written for his first wife, manager, and muse, Elizabeth Webber.
"I don't really know what's going to be a big commercial hit. We almost left 'Just The Way You Are' off the album because we really didn't like it that much. But some girls talked us into leaving it on."

He explained that the "girls" were Snow and Ronstadt, who heard the track and said, "'You guys are crazy, you've gotta keep that on the album.' We said 'Yeah? Well, ok.'"
Joel added, "I guess girls like that song. It's a chick song."
"Before we went in to record The Stranger, I think I had 'Just The Way You Are,' but we did not have the right drum pattern for it. I think we had it as a cha-cha, which made us hate the song right off the bat."
NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty ImageJoel worried the song was too sentimental and feared it would stick out from the rest of the album. However, the LP's producer Phil Ramone insisted it was a must-have. To prove his point, he invited Ronstadt and Snow into the studio to listen to the song and sway Joel’s opinion of the tune.
The Stranger would go on to become Billy Joel's best-selling album. It was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, with sales over 10M albums.
Per Billboard, the LP spawned four Top 40 hits: "Just the Way You Are" (No. 3), "Movin' Out" (No. 17), "She's Always a Woman" (No. 17), and "Only the Good Die Young" (No. 24).

No matter where you choose to set it up, you can count on it to make a statement. True to the cottagecore vibe, it's decidedly subtle in warm tones like brown and cream. The detailing is stunning, with distinctive knots that lend the lamp's "trunk" a realistic appearance. All models feature neutral linen shades that diffuse the light to a gentle luminosity.
It's just enough light to brighten up a reading nook, home library, nursery, or other space that might benefit from some pastoral charm. The look is homey and slightly undone, a characteristic that contributes to the lamp's rough-hewn feel. It's perfectly imperfect, just like a real tree trunk, yet still exudes the look of a classy piece of furniture.
Standing 69 inches tall, it's available in your choice of either a single or double shade. The design is practical, with a convenient foot pedal that makes it simple and quick to switch the light on and off. It also comes with LED bulbs, and several shoppers noted that it was very easy to put together.
"Worth every penny," one person said. "So cute. The quality is amazing, and the lamp pole looks like it could pass as real wood." Another reviewer commented on the "sleek, space-saving design," praising the "boho-modern" vibe and dubbing it an "excellent value for the money."
