‘Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken’ Star Gabrielle Anwar, 56, Shares New Book About Her Most Famous Character

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 2:14pm

Gabrielle Anwar rose to fame in the 1991 film Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. Now, the stunning actress is honoring her most famous character with a new book that tells her story.

Anwar, 56, starred as Sonora Webster Carver, one of the first female horse divers, in the popular film. Taking place in the Great Depression, the film chronicled Carver's journey as an impoverished young girl who finds her way to Atlantic City and becomes a successful horse diver. However, an accident during a jump led her to hit the water off balance with her eyes open. As a result, she was blinded by retinal detachment. Despite the injury, Carver continued to dive and had a successful career.

In the post, Anwar shared a new novel she recently read about her famous character. The book, Sonora, by Jenni L. Walsh, is a vivid retelling of Carver's story.

"Such a fabulous read! True story about a courageous girl in the south in the 1930’s brilliantly scribed by @jennilwalsh Brought me right back to Wild Hearts Can’t be Broken! What a treat! @shareefmalnik," Anwar captioned the photo.

If you need a refresher on the beloved film, here's the trailer below:

Her Memorable Scene with Al Pacino

In addition to Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, Anwar shared a memorable scene with film legend Al Pacino in his 1992 film, Scent of a Woman. In the clip, Pacino teaches Anwar to tango in the middle of a restaurant.

Burn Notice and Mental Health Struggles

Anwar went on to a successful run on Fiona Glennane on Burn Notice, a spy drama that ran on USA. But the actress revealed last year in an as-told-to essay in Business Insider that her successful career has been interrupted over the years with significant mental health challenges as a result of bipolar disorder. Starting around age 11, Anwar was "emotionally unstable" and lived with manic episodes. She resisted medication because she saw it as something shameful.

"The lows were unbearable," Gabrielle continued. "I experienced violent rages that frightened the people I loved. I once punched my now-husband in the face twice during an episode early in our relationship. I thought he'd walk away. Instead, he stayed. He loved all of me, even the broken parts."

Now a mother and grandmother, Anwar has found the medication that works for her, as well as an overall sense of peace.

"It took until my 40s to find the right medication, the right brand, dosage, and combination," Gabrielle shared. "It was a process; healing doesn't happen overnight."

Jack Harlow's 2026 Album Already Feels Personal Before Release

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 2:07pm

Jackman was Jack Harlow's last album in 2023. His single, "Lovin' On Me," spent weeks in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100. After taking time to act, he released a flirty music video with Doja Cat last year for "Just Us." The rapper will have another busy year since he announced his new album on February 10. Harlow, 27, teased the project that will be released in March.

Jack Harlow's Birthday Is Monica's Release Date View this post on Instagram

Harlow posted the album cover of Monica on Instagram. It's a blurry photo of him leaning back. "Monica. My new album. Available everywhere on my birthday, March 13," read the caption. His past posts are no longer available on the Instagram page. It's unclear if Monica is referencing a person he knows or if it's a pop culture reference. However, the fact the album is released on his birthday might be a sign the songs could be fun and personal.

Matt DamonPinkPantheress, John Mayer, and Nicholas Braun appeared in the "Just Us" video. Harlow started acting and was in an Apple TV+ movie, The Instigators, with Damon. There may be more cameos in his music video for this album. Lorde publicly revealed Harlow listened to her album, Virgin, before its release.

"Jack Harlow was working at Electric Lady [Studios in New York] when we were there towards the end of the record and somehow ended up getting most of the album played to him," she told Apple Music. "It was a very funny, cool link. He’s such a sweetheart. But he was like, ‘Your bars are…’ He was like, ‘These are bars!’ [laughs] I was like, ‘Your words, not mine.'"

Jimi Hendrix and manager Michael Jeffrey bought a nightclub and later turned it into a studio. That studio is now Electric Lady with a long list of artists who recorded there. March will reveal if more of Harlow's friends influenced this project.

Gibson Marks 100-Year Milestone of Renowned Guitars With Reimagined Classics for Sale

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 2:05pm

This year marks a milestone in music history when it comes to a certain instrument.

Gibson is now celebrating 100 years of crafting its world-famous flat-top acoustic guitars. From front porches to festival stages, from early folk pioneers to boundary-pushing modern artists, Gibson boasts that its acoustics have shaped the sound of generations.

To honor a century of craftsmanship and innovation, Gibson just unveiled the latest chapter in its acoustic legacy with the return of the Original Collection, featuring:

  • the SJ-200 60s Original
  • the LG-2 50s Original
  • the J-160E Original

As the company noted in a press release on Tuesday, Feb. 10, each model captures the timeless character, unmistakable tone and handcrafted excellence that have defined Gibson flat-tops since 1926.

"A sound you heard long before you realized what it was," reads the caption of the brand's Instagram post promoting the anniversary sale on Tuesday. "Celebrate with us all year long as we honor a century of Gibson flat-top acoustics."

Fans have already flooded the post's comments section, expressing their excitement at the reimagined classics now up for grabs. "So happy the collection now has an lg-2, lg-2 all mahogany, and a banner lg2. These 3 should stay in the collection forever. Such a perfect little guitar," wrote one Instagram user, while another person simple commented, "Oh dear 🤩🤩🤩🎶."

All three Original Collection models are handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, according to Gibson, where its team of world-class luthiers continues the tradition of meticulous acoustic craftsmanship begun a century ago.

The Gibson Original Collection is available worldwide at authorized dealers, at Gibson Garage locations and on its website.

Last month, Gibson announced a new collaboration with Keith Richards that saw two limited-edition recreations of The Rolling Stones co-founder's black 1960 Gibson ES-355 released worldwide. Handcrafted by Gibson Custom in Nashville, the guitars were developed in close collaboration with Richards himself and replicate one of the most recognizable instruments of his career.

Who Is Mark Orchard? Everything We Know About Savannah Guthrie's Ex-Husband

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 2:03pm

Mark Orchard is the first husband of Today anchor, Savannah Guthrie. The pair met while they were both covering the Michael Jackson case; Guthrie was working for Court TV while Orchard had been reporting for BBC News.

Guthrie's personal life was thrust into the spotlight in February 2026 when her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing. Authorities believe that Nancy, 84, was abducted from her home in Arizona.

Here's what we know about her ex-husband:

What Does Mark Orchard Do for Work?

Orchard studied Philosophy at University College London, according to LinkedIn. After graduating, he launched his journalism career, taking a job with ITN. From there, he worked as a senior news producer for the BBC where he spent a good chunk of his career.

After leaving the BBC, Orchard took a job with Al Jazeera in Washington, D.C. Over the course of his career, Orchard developed a deep focus on U.S. politics. He has covered every U.S. election since 1996 and was a traveling member of the White House press corps during President George W. Bush’s first term.

Mark is currently the senior broadcast producer for Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson, a position he's held since 2016.

"I'm always looking for interesting stories about the federal government, federal spending, diplomacy and defense," his LinkedIn bio reads, in part.

Why did Savannah Guthrie and Mark Orchard Divorce?

Guthrie and Orchard tied the knot in 2005—the same year they met, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Guthrie hasn't shared details about why the marriage ended, but in July 2025, she opened up about that challenging time in her life, calling the split "horrible."

"It was horrible and sad, and it broke my heart, and it took me years to recover," she said on an episode of Monica Lewinsky's Reclaiming podcast. "And I'm not blaming anyone, but I don't really want to get into it."

In February 2025, Guthrie talked to Us Weekly about how the divorce affected her.

"When I was 36, I got divorced. I wasn’t married long. That was a huge disappointment," she said. "I was pretty sure that I had lost my opportunity [to have kids] and more or less ruined my life. All I ever really wanted was to fall in love, be a mom and have a family. I don’t know if it’s acceptable to admit these days, but that’s kind of how I was. I wanted to do something important and meaningful, but I really wanted a family."

Guthrie met her current husband Michael Feldman in 2008. The two got married in 2014 and have two children, daughter, Vale, and son, Charley, together.

Orchard keeps his personal life completely private. Though he does have a public-facing Twitter account, his Instagram is private.

Four Siblings Achieve Historic First With Winter Olympic Gold Medal

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:50pm

Slovenia made Olympic history on Tuesday at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, as four siblings from the same family became the first of their kind to medal at the Winter Games.

The Slovenian ski jumping team—Anže Lanišek, Nika Vodan and siblings Nika Prevc and Domen Prevc—captured gold in the Ski Jumping Mixed Team event at the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium in Val di Fiemme, Italy. Their victory made the Prevc family the first set of four siblings to earn Winter Olympic medals and the first sibling group of three or more to include sisters across both the Winter and Summer Games.

The win was especially meaningful for Domen Prevc, 26, who became the fourth sibling to medal after younger sister Nika, 20, earned a silver medal earlier in the Games. Until this event, Domen had been the only Prevc sibling without an Olympic medal. Oldest brother Peter, 33, earned one gold, two silvers and a bronze across the 2014 and 2022 Games, while second-oldest sibling, Cene, 29, won a silver medal at the 2022 Games.

The only comparable family achievement across all Olympics belongs to Sweden’s Fåglum (Pettersson) brothers, who won eight combined medals in cycling at the 1964 and 1968 Summer Games.

Slovenia dominated the mixed team competition, posting a massive 526.9 points in the first round, which was good to be nearly 10 points ahead of second-place Japan, and followed it with an even stronger 542.3 points in the final round. Norway finished with silver, while Japan earned bronze.

With their gold-medal performance, the Prevc family didn’t just add another chapter to Slovenia’s ski jumping legacy; they rewrote the Olympic record books.

'Stranger Things' New Series Will 'Feel Like A Lost Season' Of The Show

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:45pm

The upcoming animated Stranger Thingsspinoff show, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, will be set between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original show, and according to showrunner Eric Robles, the series will feel like a "lost season" of Stranger Things.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Robles explained, "We wanted to go back to Hawkins and feel like a lost season,” and he added that this show will focus on “when the kids weren’t trying to save the world — they were just trying to save the town.”

The latter no doubt refers at least in large part to Stranger Things Season 5, the original show's last season, which saw the main characters quite literally trying to save the world as both Vecna/Henry Creel and the Mind Flayer worked to merge the Abyss, the Upside Down and the world into one dominion over which they would rule.

Tales From ’85, it seems, will instead go back to basics, returning to a time when the kids' biggest worries pertained to protecting their small town of Hawkins, Indiana, from creatures like Demogorgons. This news comes on the heels of the highly controversial Stranger Things finale, which dropped on New Year's Eve.

Audiences expressed a host of complaints about the finale, ranging from issues with how certain characters' stories ended (particularly Eleven's ambiguous ending, which left her either dead or removed from her friends and family forever) to disappointment over fan ships like Byler (Will Byers and Mike Wheeler) or Jancy (Jonathan Byers and Nancy Wheeler) not working out.

It will be interesting to see how that negative backlash plays out as this new show debuts on April 23rd, although there were, of course, plenty of viewers who enjoyed the finale and are looking forward to this new spinoff. Nevertheless, the idea that Tales From ’85 will evidently feel like an authentic season of the original show itself is an intriguing one.

Snow may still be on the ground for a lot of the country, but spring is in the air at Cracker Barrel with the launch of a new seasonal menu that’s bringing back some tried-and-true favorites.

Cracker Barrel’s classic menu item, the ham dinner, is back due to popular demand, with the national chain highlighting it as the centerpiece of its spring menu. Diners have the option of sugar-cured or country ham, with a choice of classic sides, as well as warm buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.

Smoky southern salmon is also returning to the menu with a new seasonal recipe that features a smokier, more savory flavor profile, says Cracker Barrel.

On the sweet side, strawberry-stuffed cheesecake pancakes are back, as is fan-favorite carrot cake with coconut, pineapple, walnuts, cinnamon, and vanilla, all topped with cream cheese icing and chopped pecans.

In addition to the returning favorites, there are several newcomers to the Cracker Barrel menu like hushpuppy dippers, a warm, shareable appetizer inspired by the beloved side that comes with the fried catfish entree.

Breakfast is also getting two new savory options by way of scrambles. There’s the garden scramble, which combines roasted cremini mushrooms, spinach, peppers, onions, and pepper jack cheese over three scrambled eggs. And if you want more protein, the farmhouse scramble with bacon, sugar ham, peppers, onions, and Colby cheese, all drizzled with a sweet and spicy maple syrup over scrambled eggs, packs a meaty punch. Both breakfast dishes are topped with diced tomatoes and green onions.

“Spring has always been a season of coming together, and that sense of connection is at the heart of who we are,” said Thomas Yun, Vice President of Menu Strategy and Innovation at Cracker Barrel, in a statement. “Our spring menu brings back the flavors guests know and love, while offering new ways to enjoy the comfort and care that make Cracker Barrel feel like home.”

The Truth About Over-the-Counter GLP-1 Patches, According to Doctors

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:25pm

According to a 2025 Kaiser Family Foundation poll, one in eight adults in the U.S. are currently taking a GLP-1 medication. This number has probably increased even more since the poll was conducted, as the medications have become more accessible.

For many people, GLP-1 medications (which are prescribed to manage type 2 diabetes or for weight loss) are literally life-saving. A 2024 study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences estimates that GLP-1s can prevent more than 42,000 deaths each year, including 11,000 deaths among people with type 2 diabetes.

This is because obesity is a major risk factor for numerous health conditions, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and at least 13 different types of cancer, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Until recently, GLP-1s have only been available as injections, which must be self-administered, most commonly, once a week. But last month, GLP-1s were introduced in pill form, a major innovation. This has left many people wondering: Are GLP-1 patches next? After all, patch medications are already available for certain medications for lowering blood pressure, pain management and hormone therapy.

We asked four reputable doctors specializing in weight loss if they think GLP-1 patches will be coming soon. Plus, they share their thoughts on the over-the-counter GLP-1 patches that are already available.

Are GLP-1 Patches Next?

Bariatric surgeon Dr. Betsy Dovec, MD, FACS, says that it’s reasonable to wonder if GLP-1 patches will hit the market soon. “In theory, a GLP-1 patch could offer some appealing advantages. Patches can provide steady, slow medication delivery, which might reduce side effects like nausea and eliminate the need for injections or strict pill-taking rules. For some patients, especially those who struggle with injections or adherence, that could be a real benefit,” she explains.

Unfortunately, Dr. Dovec says it’s not likely to happen anytime soon. “GLP-1 medications are particularly challenging to deliver through the skin. These drugs are relatively large peptide molecules, which makes transdermal absorption difficult,” she says, explaining that the reason the new semaglutide pill works is that it has specific absorption enhancers and strict dosing conditions. But patches are different. According to Dr. Dovec, patch medications only work when drugs have smaller molecules, which is not the case with semaglutide.

Related: GLP-1 Users Now Have Curated Grocery Lists as Store Offers New Trending Options

Dr. Hector Perez, MD, a bariatric surgeon and an advisor at BestSurgeons.com, an online database that helps patients in the US and Mexico locate qualified surgeons, agrees that GLP-1 patches are unlikely because the drug’s molecules are so large. Additionally, he says that there aren’t any existing scientific studies showing that a GLP-1 patch would work. If GLP-1 patches were viable, Dr. Perez explains that pharmaceutical companies would be clambering to fund and produce them. There’s a reason why that’s not happening.

“Most GLP-1 medications are peptides, which are large, water-soluble molecules. Because water-soluble medications cannot penetrate the skin via conventional patches, innovations like microneedle transdermal systems would be needed to adapt existing GLP-1s to patches,” says Dr. Sameer Murali, MD, the medical director of obesity medicine at Memorial Hermann Health System. On top of that, he says that patches often struggle to deliver consistent medication levels when the molecular structure is large or when patients require higher doses.

What About Over-The-Counter GLP-1 Patches?

Here’s the thing: GLP-1 patches already exist…sort of. There are over-the-counter drugs labeled as GLP-1 patches readily available on Amazon, by companies such as Ledisa, Ayojoy and Koccque.

“Overall, save your money. [Over-the-counter drugs] being labeled as GLP-1 patch is simply a way to catch the consumers’ attention without taking into account the lack of safety and efficacy these products provide,” notes Dr. Rami Lutfi, MD, a bariatric and general surgeon and medical director for bariatric and general surgery at Carrum Health.

Related: What's the Difference Between Ozempic and Metformin, and Which One Is Right for You?

Dr. Lutfi explains that true GLP-1 medications are backed by clinical trials and are FDA-approved. That is not the case with over-the-counter GLP-1 patches. “Products currently being marketed as ‘GLP-1 patches’ are not delivering GLP-1 medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide through the skin. Instead, they typically contain supplements such as berberine, L-glutamine, chromium, resveratrol, garcinia cambogia or plant extracts,” emphasizes Dr. Dovec.

She explains that while these ingredients may have modest effects on blood sugar or metabolism when taken orally, there is no scientific evidence proving they work in patch form. Dr. Perez adds to this, also saying that over-the-counter drugs marketed as GLP-1 patches do not contain semeglutide or tirzepatide, the active ingredients in the FDA-approved prescription GLP-1 medications.

With all this in mind, if you are considering taking a GLP-1 medication, talk to your healthcare provider about being prescribed one that’s FDA-approved instead of falling for the clever marketing of GLP-1 patches. And if you are prescribed a GLP-1, don’t expect to be given a patch anytime soon.

Ted Danson Thought ‘Cheers’ Was Over Before It Ever Began

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:19pm

Long before Cheers became a TV classic, Ted Danson thought it might already be over. While critics loved the show and the cast felt creatively supported, Cheers was languishing at the bottom of the ratings — so low, Danson now says, it was almost replaced before it had a chance to find its audience.

During an appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Dinner's On Me podcast, Danson recalled how critics embraced Cheers while viewers did not, with the series ranking near the bottom of the ratings. "Critics loved us," Danson said. "Everyone around us...the writers, everybody was so positive. Don't pay attention, just keep doing it. Kind of feedback, which was lovely, but we were dead last. One week in the ratings, we were like, Jimmy [Burrows] likes to say we were 75th outta 70. There were only 70 shows."

Danson explained that the series ultimately survived because there was nothing available to replace it in its time slot. "They later said, oh, no, no. We weren't brilliant programmers," he said, adding, "We had nothing to replace Cheers with, or we would have."

Today, Danson knows that without the success of Cheers, he wouldn’t be where he is today. "Everything I’ve done is because of Cheers," he told Parade in 2016. "I walk around, and people smile at me because they’re remembering something funny that I was part of on Cheers. I’m forever grateful. It was an amazing 11 years of my life."

He also credits much of his success to the opportunity to work with exceptional scripts throughout his career. "I’ve been really blessed with great writing," he reflected. "It was perfect to be a bartender [Cheers] with a bunch of rowdy, funny people in my 30s. It was fun to be a grumpy doctor [Becker] in my 40s and early 50s. It was fun to be hanging around with Jason Schwartzman and Zach Galifianakis [Bored to Death]. And I really love The Good Place."

All 11 seasons of Cheers are currently streaming on Paramount+.

’70s Country Rock Band Announces Update on Farewell Tour

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:18pm

Tickets for the final leg of the country rock group Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's farewell tour are officially available.

Both general admission tickets and VIP packages are up for sale on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's website, which include meet-and-greet opportunities and exclusive memorabilia to commemorate the band's last few performances.

All The Good Times: The Farewell Tour kicked off in October 2025, with the first show taking place in Ontario, Canada. The band decided to extend their tour into 2026 later that month in commemoration of 60 years of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, which they called "an awe-inspiring milestone rarely achieved" in a social media post shared last year.

View this post on Instagram

The band is expected to take the stage for the very last time on June 18 in Denver, Colorado, marking the end of an era for the group that changed country rock music as we know it.

The band — which has released music over decades spanning multiple genres, from rock to roots to country and more — has built a legacy of industry-defining moments since it was first formed in 1966 by Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Ralph Barr, Les Thompson, Bruce Kunkel and early member Jackson Browne, with John McEuen soon replacing Browne to become a core figure.

Originally part of the L.A. folk scene, they evolved from jug-band roots into respected ambassadors of American roots music. Their biggest breakthrough came with Will the Circle Be Unbroken (1972), a landmark album that united generations by revitalizing interest in country and bluegrass among younger audiences. Over the course of their career, the band earned multiple Grammy Awards, scored major hits like “Mr. Bojangles” (1970) and “Fishin’ in the Dark” (1987) and secured their legacy as one of the most influential acts in American roots music history.

Tickets for the final leg of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's All The Good Times: The Farewell Tour — featuring special guests Meels, Kathleen Edwards, Brit Taylor and Molly Tuttle during different stops — can be found on their website.

The 15 Must-Buy Trader Joe’s Valentine’s Groceries, According to a Superfan

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:05pm

Love is in the air, but if you’re not feeling it yet, then a quick trip to Trader Joe’s should help get you there. Every February, the store goes all-in on Valentine’s Day, with tables and endcaps dedicated to pink-and-red treats, heart-shaped candies and seasonal snacks that feel festive and fun. It’s hard not to fall in love with Valentine's Day when your cart is stocked with so many cute finds.

As a Trader Joe's superfan (check out my Trader Nos or Trader Gos series on my Instagram page), I'm at the store a lot, seeing what's new, cool and delicious. For this roundup, I started in the dedicated Valentine’s Day section (where most shoppers beeline first), but I didn’t stop there. I also cruised the rest of the store to find everyday items that just happen to work perfectly for Valentine’s Day, whether you’re planning a cozy date night in, packing fun lunchbox treats for your kids, looking for small gifts for teachers and other folks or putting together a Galentine's Day dessert spread.

From heart-shaped pasta and chocolate truffles to freezer desserts and even a little something for your dog, these are the 15 Trader Joe’s Valentine’s Day treats and groceries worth grabbing while they’re around. Some are obvious and some are sneaky, but all of them feel fun, festive and very on-brand for this holiday dedicated to love.

Where To Find Valentine’s Day Items at Trader Joe’s

Most of the Valentine’s Day–specific treats can be found in the seasonal section near the front of the store, often on tables or endcaps. Items outside the holiday section are scattered throughout the store, most likely near similar, non-seasonal finds (so cookies would be by other baked goods, frozen pasta near other pastas in the freezer aisle, and so forth). Check the snack section, bakery case, beverage shelves and pet aisle to build out a Valentine’s spread that feels thoughtful without being overly themed.

15 Must-Buy Trader Joe’s Valentine’s Day Products

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

1. Italian Artisan Heart-Shaped Pasta

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

In my humble opinion, out of all the Trader Joe's Valentine's Day products out there, this heart-shaped pasta is the one most worth reaching for. In my house, we don’t eat another pasta shape all February long (because why would we?), and sometimes I even reach for these adorable hearts once the month is over. It’s such an easy, charming way to show someone you love them with dinner.

2. Gummy X’s & O’s

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Soft, fruity and perfectly on-theme, these Valentine's gummies are ideal for candy bowls, classroom treats or simply for a little something sweet after dinner. These candies have that ideal level of chewiness and softness that never feels too firm or gummy. They also happen to be perfect for that middle spot of the lunchbox. I found these near other Valentine's-themed treats in my store, but they also might be near other non-seasonal gummy candies.

3. Milk Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Hearts

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Fluffy, soft and nostalgic in the best way, these chocolate-covered marshmallow hearts feel like a throwback Valentine’s treat. They’re great straight from the bag, but they really shine floating in a mug of hot chocolate for a cozy, kid-friendly Valentine’s night in or party.

TJ's fans also love the subtle marshmallow flavor contrasted with that sweet, rich milk chocolate. "They're so yummy! I love love the softer marshmallow texture but the strawberry flavor was pretty light," one Redditor noted.

4. Belgian Chocolate Hearts

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These rich, smooth chocolate hearts feel positively gift-worthy without breaking the bank. They have that classic Belgian chocolate snappy texture and unbeatable milk chocolate flavor, making them a simple but elevated option for candy bowls, treat bags or low-effort (but still thoughtful) Valentine’s gifts.

5. Jelly Bean Hearts

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Jelly beans may be mostly associated with Easter, but that doesn't mean that Valentine's Day can't get in on the fun. There's something about colorful jelly beans that just feels instantly festive, and that's even more true when they're heart-shaped. They make great classroom treats or a cute, festive snack just to have around. (FWIW, these are usually in my car cupholder all love-month long!)

6. Dark Chocolate Caramel Hearts

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Sweet, slightly salty and dangerously snackable, these dark chocolate caramel hearts hit that perfect balance between rich, slightly bitter chocolate and gooey, sweet caramel. They’re ideal for keeping on hand as an after-dinner treat and I also love the bag size for teachers' gifts.

7. Cocoa Truffles

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These cocoa truffles show up again every year for a reason. Rich, decadent and dusted in cocoa powder, they taste like something you’d pick up at a specialty chocolate shop, not a grocery store. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth, chocolate ooey-gooey goodness. Maybe grab an extra box for March.

8. Raspberry Heart Cookies

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

The perfect cookie is one that doesn't go overboard with the sweetness, and these raspberry hearts hit the nail on the head in terms of buttery shortbread balanced with a sweet-tart jam center. Ideal for a Galentine's Day cookie board or as a simple sweet treat to keep tucked away in your pantry, these cookies are perfectly on-theme thanks to their adorable heart shapes.

9. Freeze-Dried Strawberry Pieces

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Bright, crunchy and naturally pink, these strawberry pieces are surprisingly versatile. Sprinkle them over yogurt, oatmeal or ice cream, or mix them into homemade snack mixes for an easy Valentine’s upgrade. Because this isn't a Valentine's-specific item, you'll probably find it stocked somewhere near other yogurt-covered nuts or snacks.

10. Strawberry Yogurt-Flavored Almonds

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Not all sweets can work as snacks, but we think these strawberry yogurt-flavored almonds strike that perfect treat-meets-snack balance. They’re great for gifting, tucking away into desk drawers for a little pick-me-up when needed or late-night pantry raidings when you want something a little indulgent but still satisfying. You should be able to find these yogurt almonds near the freeze-dried strawberry pieces and other yogurt-covered nuts and snacks.

11. Raspberry Mousse Cakes

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These sweet little raspberry mousse cakes taste way more expensive than they actually are, and they look perfectly elegant without any effort needed. Something I especially like about these mousse cakes is that they freeze well, so you can stock up on a few boxes and have them for Valentine's Day and beyond. They're a great thing to pull out of the freezer for a quick party dessert, no matter the occasion. Look for them near the other Valentine's treats or in the bakery section.

12. Dark Chocolate Ganache Mini Sheet Cake or Cookies & Cream Mini Sheet Cake

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Trader Joe's mini sheet cakes are one of my absolute favorite products in the whole store. They're versatile, delicious and perfect to keep on hand as a go-to sweet treat that doesn't require any baking on your end. I've turned these mini sheet cakes into cake pops and have stacked them to make birthdaycakes, so the versatility is very real.

The new cookies 'n cream flavor feels special, but I'm also a sucker for the dark chocolate ganache flavor. And, as with other TJ's mini sheet cake flavors, the love for the cookies 'n cream flavor is real. "Tried it today—it’s awesome! Less sweet than I expected, which is a plus," one Redditor noted. Find both mini sheet cakes in the bakery section, along with a slew of other mini sheet cake flavors.

13. PB&J Oat Bites

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Although these raspberry oat bites don't necessarily scream Valentine's Day, they do come in a cute, festive box and are perfect for Valentine’s Day lunchboxes or afternoon snacks. They’re soft, filling and feel like a fun seasonal twist on a classic. Bring a few boxes of these oat bites to a playdate for a simple but kiddo-approved treat.

14. Jerky Strips Dog Treats

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Pups need love on Valentine's Day too! We can't forget the pets we love the most, and these jerky strips help spread the love with ease. They come in an adorable pink bag and are an easy, thoughtful way to include your best furry friend in the Valentine’s Day fun.

15. Blood Orange Soda

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

The bottle alone makes this blood orange soda feel special, making it perfect for a date night in. Use it as a cocktail mixer, a base for sparkling mocktails or sip it straight from the bottle for a bright, citrusy refreshment. The blood orange flavor also adds a deep, rich citrus flavor to the soda, making it feel a little fancier than your standard orange soda.

'You're Not Gonna Pull Wool Over My Eyes': Candiace Dillard Bassett Calls Out Rob Rausch on 'The Traitors' (Exclusive)

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:02pm

The Traitors Season 4 has arrived! Throughout the season, Mike Bloom will speak with someone from the star-studded cast who was murdered or banished on the iconic Peacock reality series.

The first half of The Traitors Season 4 saw perhaps the least dramatic group of Traitors so far. The turret trio was tactful in its torturous trimmings, leaving the vast majority of the Faithful off their trail. The messiest out of the three in the initial stages was Candiace Dillard Bassett. Having acquired two degrees and a job in the White House, she was ready to showcase that she was more than just a Housewife. And she did that on the first day when she threw Lisa Rinna under the bus, only to realize hours later she was her co-conspirator.

Even after that faux pas, Candiace was not deterred from having the castle crowd look at another Housewife. During the first mission, she falsely claimed to Porsha Wallace that Michael Rapaport had been targeting the Housewives. With a head full of as much steam as a locomotive, Porsha confronted Michael who, of course, denied the claim. When Porsha turned to Candiace for reassurance, the Real Housewives of Potomac star sold her down the river, denying she said anything. Surprisingly, the "kitch-uation" served to incriminate Porsha, leading to her eventual banishment, while Candiace was able to slip into the background unnoticed.

With a couple of messy moments under her belt, the next few rounds were like a party for Candiace (complete with a conga line). She, Lisa and Rob Rausch were playing things masterfully, operating as a team. But when Colton Underwood began to be suspicious of Lisa, Rob felt himself torn between his closest ally and a fellow Traitor. And so, at the Round Table, he drew first blood, voting for Lisa and nearly leading to her banishment. Lisa and Candiace were both simultaneously furious and suspicious of the Love Island alum, considering the surprising move. And they had every right to be, as the next night, he continued to help whip the votes against Lisa. The first member of the original Traitors had been eliminated — and partially at Rob's hand.

But Candiace also had a vote at that Round Table. And she decided it was her turn for some Traitor-on-Traitor crime. During Lisa's banishment, she cast a "throwaway vote" against Rob, an out-of-nowhere tactic that raised eyebrows around the Round Table. It was a big red flag to Colton, who warned Rob and others that Candiace could be a Traitor as well. In the turret, unhappy at her move, Rob abdicated power to his partner, electing not to tell her about Colton's suspicions. As a result, Candiace happily took out one of the most vocal Faithfuls, not knowing she incriminated herself in the process. The next day, Rob and Candiace turned fully against one another, declaring all-out war. But the battle was quite one-sided at the Round Table. Candiace didn't know how much Rob had been building his troops over the past couple of rounds, and how much her throwaway vote would be the smoking gun. And so, in the course of only two nights, Candiace went from the front of the conga line to being trampled beneath its feet.

Now out of the game, Candiace talks with Parade about how she nearly said no to appearing on The Traitors, the purpose of her "throwaway vote," and her reaction to Rob accusing her of "bad sportsmanship."

Related: Everything to Know About The Traitors Season 4

What was your history with The Traitors before you signed up to play?
So I had started to hear about this show during Season 1. People were tagging me online, saying that I should do it. And I was like, "What the hell is The Traitors? What is this?" And then Season 2 aired, and my Housewife sister Phaedra went in there, and kicked butt. And I really got kind of tuned in during Season 2. And the requests for me to do the show got louder from the audience.

And then, when I was asked, at first, I was kind of like, "No, this is weird. I don't like missions. I don't want to be outside. I don't like playing games. And it's far away, and I just had a baby." But my wonderful executives at NBC, at Bravo, were like, "I think this would be great for you, and you should do it." I was like, "Okay. It will be a challenge for me, and I don't back down from a challenge."

And I had great childcare in my mom and my sister, and, of course, my husband, [because] he's the daddy, helping to make me feel comfortable enough to leave Jett at eight months old to go play a game in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland in Alan's castle. And so I went, I put myself all in. And I took 20 pictures of Jett and put them on the wall in my room, and I dived in. I said, "If I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it. And when I do it, I need to do it as a Traitor." And so I was very excited to be granted the privilege of being able to murder mercilessly.

So then let's go from the beginning of your dive to the end. Because you obviously had no idea when you murdered Colton how much that would put heat on you. So, going into the Round Table, did you feel confident you had enough votes to turn things on Rob?
I had an inkling, really, the night before and definitely the morning of, that I was going to have to fight, and that I was probably going to go home. And I was okay with it. Because I realized, after Rob lied to myself and Lisa and said that he was sorry that he voted for Lisa the first time, and he was just caught up, and, "I didn't think she was going to go home," and all that, all that nonsense he was saying after that. When he went to the Round Table that night and voted for her again and did so with a twinkle in his eye, I said, "Oh, this is something else."

I believe he had this plan in motion in his head to try and take the girls down and figure out what to do later. But get rid of us as early as possible, so that he could have the turret all to himself. So no, I was content. And my goal switched from, "Oh, let me try to save myself," to "Let me make sure that, if I go, they know that they need to look at Rob."

To that point, when you told Rob that, if you were banished, you would put suspicion on him, he replied that was "bad sportsmanship." What's your response to that?
Bad sportsmanship?! You literally lied to your fellow Traitors and then went to the Round Table and voted out your fellow Traitor after you said you were sorry that you voted for her the first time. That is the definition of bad sportsmanship! We made a pact to not turn on each other, remember? And he turned on us. That's bad sportsmanship.

I have a degree or two, so you're not gonna pull wool over my eyes. I saw what he was doing. He thought ahead of me in that regard, and I will give him that. But as they say in the South — how can I say this politely? Don't piss on me and tell me it's raining. Water is wet.

Well let's talk about how the trickle-down against you started, when you decided to do a "throwaway vote" against Rob at the Round Table. That raised a lot of red flags for people, especially after you came in the next round and said that you actually did it to put a spotlight on Rob. What were you trying to do there, and what was your response to everyone's reaction?
It's frustrating because...turn your brain on! Why would I randomly vote for someone who I had not voted for before? You didn't really see Rob and I together in the castle ever. We didn't really talk, which was by design. So I wanted them to start to see it as something that they should investigate, instead of just seeing it as weird. Because if it's weird, why is it weird? Let's explore this further.

But they just stopped it. "Oh, that's strange, huh." And that just was infuriating to me. I tried to leave as many breadcrumbs as possible. Because once I knew that Rob was the snake and could not be trusted, I had to switch my strategy to just clearing desks. If I'm going out, I'm taking the printer, I'm taking the phone, I'm throwing the lamp, I'm taking it all. And I was hoping that I was leaving enough breadcrumbs for them to use later. And we'll see how that pans out.

Let's talk about one of your closest co-workers in Johnny Weir. We didn't really know the two of you had a relationship until this past episode. Talk to me more about how you got so close.
Oh, my Johnny! He's the salt of the earth. He's so kind and hilarious and smart and brilliant. Obviously, he's an Olympian. I mean, come on! And he was my Round Table partner. We would often be holding hands in in the in the anxiety of it all. He would always pull out my chair when I would come to sit at the table. And we kiki'd. There's a lot of kiking that went on in the castle that you don't see. I'm hoping that we'll get more of that. Maybe at the reunion, they'll show you more of those fun moments. We had a lot of fun. And there's a lot of activities and a lot going on, so obviously, you can't see everything. But that was just such a bright moment, and one of many key moments that I had with him. He's amazing.

Finally, while you were part of a trio inside The Traitors, you are a solo act outside of the castle. And you've recently released a new single, "If Only." Tell me more about that.
Yes, my new single, "If Only", is out now on all streaming platforms. My music visual is also dropping very soon on YouTube and Vevo. This is the start of a new era of music for me. "Deep Space" will always be my baby. But I'm really proud of the elevation sonically, lyrically, production-wise, that you're going to get on this new project. And "If Only" is just the next stop to the album!

‘Survivor 50’ Star Savannah Louie Reveals If She’ll Come Clean About Her ‘Survivor 49’ Win (Exclusive)

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:00pm

Savannah Louie is feeling deja vu and whiplash simultaneously. Ten days ago, the 31-year-old had just become the most recently-minted Sole Survivor, putting a punctuation point on a season that had her tying a Survivor challenge record. And Jeff Probst made it impossible for her to come down from that high, offering her mere hours later a spot on Season 50 Despite the excitement, Savannah knows how seedy being an unknown identity in a group of returning players looks. So she plans on disclosing how she did in the game, in an effort to make a trustworthy first impression. From there, the former reporter hopes to fill her on-island news team with mostly old-schoolers and people who make her laugh (including someone she has an alarming amount in common with). And Savannah hopes to ultimately be the one to get the last laugh, becoming the first person in Survivor history to win two consecutive seasons.

Read on for my interview with Savannah, and check in with Parade daily for interviews with this season's contestants and other tidbits. Survivor 50 premieres on Feb. 25 with a three-hour episode on CBS.

Survivor 50 interview with Savannah Louie

[Author's note: As Survivor 49 had not aired during the filming of Survivor 50, the press was told to not ask Rizo and Savannah any specifics about their original season. If you'd like to check out what they had to say about their game, be sure to read our post-finale interviews from the end of 2025!]

I mean, Savannah, you should basically be buying land out here. Because this is the second time we're talking out here in two months!
I know! And you said you didn't expect me to be back, which I'm still a little offended by. But, honestly, like, I'm so happy to be back. There is no situation where I would do a back-to-back season other than something as big as Survivor50.

Well, that's what I more or less meant. Not that you specifically wouldn't be back, but that nobody from 49 would be back, given the back-to-back filming schedule. So what was your reaction when you got asked to return so quickly?
I thought Jeff was punking me. I'm serious. So literally, the day after our season finished wrapping, we're still in Fiji at this point, I'm told that I have someone who needs to talk to me. And I go into this room, and I see Zoom is set up. And I assumed the Survivor producers wanted to get my family on the screen, or my partner on the screen. It's just like a congratulatory chat for everybody here. And I was maybe the first person to go.

And so I walk in, and I get a little closer, and I realize, "Oh my God, it's Jeff Probst. What is this all about?" And he says, "Savannah, congratulations. We want to invite you to be part of Survivor 50." And I think I sank down in my chair. Like, thank goodness I was sitting, because I feel like otherwise I would have dropped to the floor. But I'm just shocked. I thought it was a joke for a minute, because immediately, when you think of Survivor 50, you think of the Survivor greats. You think of people like Ozzy and Coach and Jenna, who have been so instrumental to what Survivor is. And I'm like, "Wait, am I part of this?" It's nuts!

And you absolutely are a part of this! So then, what has your prep been like in such a tight turnaround between seasons? Did you have to put the work in again? Or was it more decompressing and preparing for another stint on the island?
I had about 10 days to totally prepare as much as I could. So I got my butt back in the gym. I'm so over the gym by this point. God, I never want to see another dumbbell again. But other than that, I got three massages in eight days, which is wonderful. I ate all the fried food, all the high-calorie food. So I've already gained back all the weight and then some, to be honest.

But I think the hardest part about doing a back-to-back season, which most people don't think about, is the mental and emotional strain that it can put on you. Leaving your family and your friends behind to go no-contact again. And not only that, but to be out in the jungle with a bunch of psychos. Because, seriously, if you're playing Survivor, you're probably a little bit crazy. I mean that with all the all the sweetness in my heart. And hey, I'm a little bit crazy too! I wouldn't want to be stuck on an island with me for 26 days. But it's just a lot to get your mind ready for.

And so to answer your question, there are some parts of me where, physically, I tried to prepare the best I could. But from a mental and emotional state, I'm trying to stay locked in. I've noticed I've been a little bit more suspicious of people in my everyday life, which is not something I want to continue post-Survivor. But I think for this awkward period of time where I'm going into 50, that's okay.

Survivor history has been littered with people who have appeared on back-to-back seasons as complete unknowns, from Russell Hantz in Heroes vs. Villains to Malcolm in Caramoan to Zeke and Michaela in Game Changers. So what do you think your perception is, coming in as an unknown factor?
I'm a little bit worried, to be honest with you. I mean, think about the game of Survivor as a whole. You want to try to eliminate as much uncertainty as you can in this game. Because Survivor is a game of uncertainty, and when you're not sure exactly what's going on, you're not able to prepare. So I'm worried that some of the people out here are going to see me and also my fellow castmate, Rizo, as people who are threats just because they don't know our game. I could be the least threatening person out here, but just because they don't know how we play or know how we did, we're automatically sitting here with this big bullseye on our back. So my job here is to go in and try to seem as friendly and sweet and nice to everybody as possible and as less of a threat as possible.

Now, the good news is they haven't seen any of 49. Have you thought about telling them a certain version of events that happened to help further that perception?
I did, and part of me is gonna do that. There are a few things that I definitely don't want shared out here. But you have to think about the other people who are involved in Season 49. Rizo is out here. I don't know what he's gonna tell or not tell.

Did you not collude on a story to give everyone before coming in?
I mean, as much colluding as you can do. At the same time, though, the Survivor community is very talkative. Even my own parents don't know how I did for 49. They don't know everything that I may have accomplished or not accomplished. I think there are some people out here who might be a little clued in based off the talking. So my thing is, I'm gonna come clean. I feel like coming clean, honestly, might be a decent strategy when it comes to some of the things I did accomplish. And hopefully it'll show people that they can trust me. Because otherwise, if I lie about it, they're gonna know right away. And then everybody out here is gonna know that I'm a big fat liar, and they also can't trust my game.

Last time we were here, you talked about being stereotyped into a Parvati or Venus-like role. Is that something you want to steer into with this group?
Honestly, knowing how Season 49 went, I don't think I can do that. And part of the reason for that is I went into Season 49 thinking I was going to do X, Y and Z. I had my strategy all lined up in my head, and I thought it was going to be easy to accomplish. Maybe not easy to accomplish, but I felt like it was going to fuel the way I played my entire game. And then I get out here, and I realized you can only plan for so much. People are going to perceive you how they want to perceive you. And now, after playing, I don't think I'm like a Venus, and I don't think I'm like a Parvati. I would love to be like a Parvati, but I don't think I am. I think I'm just a Savannah Louie, and I'm gonna lean into that role as much as possible.

Well, let's talk about the roles these people around you are going to play in your game. We're gonna play a game called "Friend or Foe." I'm going to give you a name of someone on the cast, and you have to tell me if they're someone you want to work with, or someone you see as an enemy or threat. Starting with Jenna.
I want to say Friend. I don't know that she's gonna see me as a friend. I think she might see me as a threat, especially being new era. But I'm looking at this woman as we're in pregame. And she just has such a positive energy about her, and she just seems like she's so friendly and fun. And I'm like, "That's someone who I want in my normal life." That's definitely someone who I would want on a crazy island out here, too.

Colby.
[Pause.] I'm gonna say Friend for Colby, too.

I did notice a pause, though.
Because now I feel like I'm just gonna say Friend to everybody! But like, dude, Colby is someone who I looked up to as a kid. How could I not want to align with someone who was this hero in my mind for so long?

That's gonna be an interesting thing to face this season. The idea that, while these are people who are foundational to how you got into the show and eventually became a player yourself, they are people at the end of the day.
Well, let me say this. I would like to align with Colby, but I don't know that we actually have enough in common. I don't know if we would actually be likely to work together long-term. We could vote together for a few votes if our agendas match up. But overall, I like the guy. I'm not opposed to it.

How about Stephenie?
Ooh, Stephenie scares me. I want to say Friend, but honestly, I think she might be more of a Foe. She is a fierce competitor. I feel like she is someone who has very strong energy. And I'm also a woman who has very strong energy. And I know firsthand that sometimes when you have two strong women, it can be either the best thing in the world or there can be fireworks in the worst possible way. And with Stephenie, she kind of intimidates me, so I might go with Foe for her.

Cirie.
Foe. She needs to go Day 1, before I would even go to Tribal Council. I'm sorry. Because here's the thing, she is so slick. She's gonna charm everybody out here, probably including me. As I'm saying Foe, I would probably have a conversation with her and immediately say Friend. So getting rid of Cirie as early as possible, before she has the opportunity to charm any of us into what we need to do.

Ozzy.
I'll say Friend. I want the fish. I want to be taken care of! So here's the thing, in my real life, I have a partner, and he takes such good care of me. He's always keeping me fed. He's always making sure I'm happy. Ozzy — I don't want to call him my Survivorboyfriend or anything like that. But I do like being taken care of.

Coach.
Friend. I am obsessed with Coach. He has no idea that I am so obsessed with him, but like, oh my God! I think he's such an interesting character. He's probably the number one person out here who I'm most excited to like me and hopefully work with.

He is such a character. Even when we're not allowed to talk, he's doing his yoga poses. He's doing these drawings, these lines in the sand. He's got one of his big toenails painted silver, And I'm like, "What's up with that?" I've never seen that, especially on a man. Dude, we have these snacks back there. It's like these peanut brittle things, literally for old people. And Coach has been downing them like crazy. So I just want to have a conversation with this guy.

How about Aubry?
I would say Foe. Too strategic. I don't trust her. And, honestly, when I'm out here, I want to work with someone who is strategic. But I feel like she would, ultimately, backstab me. I can't have that.

Chrissy.
Originally, I would have said Foe. She's intimidating, but I feel like she's just a little socially awkward. Friend. I don't think she's actually that intimidating. And I feel I can work with her.

Angelina.
Oh my gosh. If we're getting drinks, I would say Friend. But this is Survivor. She's gonna be my Foe out here. Honestly, I think she has too many friends out here already. I see the way that she's laughed with certain people. And I'm like, "Dude, this woman has too many friends." Maybe there's been a little pregaming out here. She's gotta go.

Christian.
Friend, easily. I saw the way that he — I'm gonna sound like I'm looking for a man to take care of me. [Laughs.] And I swear that's not what's gonna happen. But I saw the way that he took care of Gabby in David vs. Goliath and was literally her shoulder to cry on. And just from a human perspective, I appreciated that so much. I thought he was just a stand-up guy. He's also a lot smarter than I am, and I need someone who knows strategy out here to balance out the fact that I'm not the best strategist. So I would love to work with him.

Mike.
Friend, easily. One of my things in 49 that I wanted to do, which I did do, was align myself with someone who made me laugh. And he made the game that is so stressful at times a lot more enjoyable. And I really see that in Mike. I feel like he's a total goofball. I loved his sense of humor in David vs. Goliath. I feel like I could use that out here too.

Now, the last time we talked, I had said, "You're a former news reporter from Atlanta. Do you know Rick Devens?" And you said you had mutual friends, but never met. You're meeting him now. So give me your perspective on him.
I'm obsessed with Rick Devens. If Coach is my number one out here, Rick Devens is a close number two. Literally, I talked about Rick in my Survivor application video, how I wanted to play like him, and how he brought so much fun to the game.

And it kind of goes back to what I'm saying about Mike White. I want to play Survivor with someone who's going to make me laugh, who I'm going to have fun with. And I totally see that in Rick. I know he used to do the morning show, and I was evenings. And I don't want there to be any animosity of mornings vs. evenings, because I really do feel like Rick and I could work together. We can have a lot of fun out here. So I would say not just a Friend, but like a Super Friend.

Savannah Louie on 'Survivor 50'

Robert Voets/CBS

Let's move into your fellow new era cast members, starting with Jonathan.
Friend, until we get to the merge. I need Jonathan to take care of my tribe in the challenges leading up to the merge, because I do not want to go to Tribal Council. I want to get as far into this game without going. Well, maybe I'll go to one Tribal Council. Going to Tribal before merge is definitely a good thing. But I need to align myself with people who are gonna take care of me, so to speak. And Jonathan has definitely got the muscle for that.

How about Dee?
Foe, which is crazy! Because, dude, before I got on 49, she was someone who I wanted to play the game like. She was the winner whose game I wanted to emulate out here. But, I mean, I feel like she's been pregaming, and I feel like that's very dangerous when you're in a season like this.

And so I mean, here's the thing, and I'll say this about a lot of the new era people. I think that with the technology that's out there, and also the Survivor events, you're gonna have people more likely to establish these relationships and create these social bonds than maybe when you were playing Heroes vs. Villains forever ago. And so I'm kind of wary. I would love to work with any of the new era people, but I'm also very wary of the ones who seem like they are better connected.

Emily.
I'm a little sus about Emily too. I mean, for all these people, I want to say Friend, but I feel like they're going to be my Foe.

You're ready to spill some new era blood!
Yes, I am! Which is crazy. Because as a new era person myself, you'd think I'd want to unite with people who are playing the same game as me, literally. But I don't trust them.

How about Charlie?
Foe. I would say that even if he was old era too. There's something about Charlie I just don't trust. You know who my least favorite person in the world is?

Who?
Taylor Swift. Seriously, anyone who's obsessed with Taylor, I'm just like, "There's something wrong with you."

Which is different from the thing that's wrong with you to make you want to play Survivor!
[Laughs.] Exactly. But the Taylor Swift fans, I  don't get on a human level. But definitely not someone who I would want to work with either.

What about Q?
Okay, I want to be Friends with Q. But again, he's so all over the place, I feel like he'll be a Foe. I don't trust him for a second.

Tiffany.
Foe. Here's why, especially for Tiffany, she didn't get as far as some of the other people who are playing Season 50 have gotten. So I think Tiff is going to be very under the radar, especially at the beginning. And I think that's going to give her a huge advantage out here. I don't think people are going to realize how big of a threat Tiff actually is. Because, honestly, I feel like she will have an amazing social game. I feel like she'll be able to hold her own in some of the challenges. And I feel like before any of us realize, she'll end up being at the Final Three or something.

Genevieve.
Foe. She's so smart. No, no, we cannot have that. And maybe there's a chance I could align with Genevieve. I feel like our personalities might actually really mesh well together. But again, it's the pregaming I don't trust.

Let's get into 48. Because when you played, you had only watched the first half of the season. So you really didn't get to see the dominant performance Joe put together in the endgame. What are your thoughts on him based on what you know, going into this season?
Don't worry, I binged and I caught up with everything. And here's where I will say, I'm switching it up. And I'm saying these are some new era people I might work with. Joe, to me, just seems like such a nice stand-up guy. I don't think he's gonna come out here and play that same loyal game again, because I think that was kind of like a detriment to his previous game. But he is someone who I feel like I just naturally would trust out here, especially at the early stages of games. So I'll say Friend for Joe.

Kamilla.
I would say Friend for her too. And she's extremely smart and strategic. But the reason why I really like her is because I look at her and I'm like, "Okay, fellow short queen out here!" I feel like, in a sense, we have to stick together. And I know that's the most superficial reason ever. But I don't know, I like her.

How about Kyle?
I know he just won, but I feel like that increases his threat level. And so maybe he's looking for people to play with and people who won't just write him off first thing. And [I'm] someone who I feel like, when I look at myself, I'm a little bit worried people will write me off first thing. So in a weird way, I might be able to relate to Kyle in that sense. So I'll say Friend for Kyle, too.

Obviously, you can't get into any specifics on what happened on 49 right now. But what are your thoughts on your relationship with Rizo going into this season?
I'll say Friend at first. I mean, I'll say Friend, but inevitably turning Foe.

Which previous player do you wish were out here on the island with you right now?
I am obsessed with Carolyn from Season 44. She just has this radiant energy about her. She made the game fun to watch. I have no doubt she would make the game fun to play with. And then I think on a bigger level than that, right now, when I'm playing Survivor 50, I'm looking for people who will give me a chance and who will hear me out. Who won't just say, "Hey, we don't know your game. We don't know you. So you've got to go ASAP."

I feel like Carolyn was always willing to hear people out and willing to give people a chance. And not only that, but actually listen to what they say and consider whether it was best for her game or not to work with them. And I would love that in an ally in a game like this. So I really wish Carolyn was here.

Give me one similar thing and one different thing you're bringing into your second season as compared to your first.
So from my first season, and in my life, actually, one of the best things about me is that when I feel pressure, or my back's against the wall, I will do whatever it takes to just push through. And it's kind of just putting your head down and just getting through the s—t, for lack of a better word.

And so there were a couple moments where, in Season 49, I felt just so defeated. And it's like, well, what do you do? You just put your head down. You get through it as best you can. You give it your all. And maybe you don't always get through it, but even if you don't get through it, you'll end up a stronger human being because of that. So that tenacity, that's something I'm going to bring with me into Survivor 50

Something I'm doing different,  dude, I cannot be as trusting as I was in Season 49. I was so naive. Oh my gosh. I thought I knew working in a newsroom to never trust anyone. And I found myself way too trusting out here. I mean, you get to know these people, too, on a human level. And they become not just your friends after a certain amount of time, but it's a stronger bond, I think, in a weird way, than friendship. I don't even know how to describe it. But when you create a bond like that with someone who isn't your ally, you might not believe that they could ever stab you in the back or try to do you wrong. But it's Survivor; anything can happen.

Finally, what celebrity or fictional character would you bring out for a Loved Ones visit? When we did this only a couple of months ago, you went with Miley Cyrus. Do you want to double down on that?
Jesus Christ.

You wanted the fish. He can give you the loaves and fishes!
Exactly! I'm gonna be fed. And I'm also probably gonna get some great advice too.

Steve Carell Says New HBO Series Features 'One of the Best Comedy Pilots I’ve Read'

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 12:56pm

As if the prospect of seeing Steve Carell's return to TV weren't exciting enough, the 63-year-old Office star is hyping up his upcoming HBO series by confirming "it's one of the best comedy pilots I've read — period." according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This coming March, Carell will star in the new HBO comedy series, Rooster, from showrunners Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses. In the context of the show's story, Carell will portray an author who becomes increasingly involved in his professor daughter's life following the collapse of her marriage.

While some viewers might wonder what to expect from the upcoming series, Carell is giving plenty of assurance in his assessment of the show's pilot, complimenting the script for its sharp writing and persistent humor.

“Pilots are the hardest to write," Carell explained. You’re creating a world, you’re introducing it to an audience and you have to do it quickly, efficiently, without feeling like it’s all backstory — and be funny at the same time."

The series, which is set to debut on HBO on March 8, will co-star Carell, Danielle Deadwyler, Phil Dunster, Charly Clive, John C. McGinley, Connie Britton and Lauren Tsai. With such a talented cast attached to the project, Carell said he viewed the series as an incredibly promising venture.

“There’s an art in casting, and Greg Daniels had the same knack on The Office as Bill," Carell said. "He cast a bunch of people that just genuinely cared about each other and really enjoyed seeing each other every day and became real friends — not just work friends, but lifelong friends. That’s the same sense I got with this group.”

“Bill told all the actors at the first table read, ‘Within a couple of weeks, I want you all to have an exponentially greater percentage of ownership of your character.’ He invited people in to make the characters their own, to make them feel lived in and really breathe life into them," the Big Short actor continued by saying.
