Mother-in-Law of Person Detained in Nancy Guthrie Case Speaks Out

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 12:05am

The mother-in-law of the person reportedly detained in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is speaking out.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, law enforcement detained an individual for questioning during a traffic stop in Rio Rico, Arizona — a city about 60 miles south of Tucson and near the United States/Mexico border.

That same night, CNN spoke to a woman in the area who said her name is Josefina and that the person detained is her son-in-law.

However, she claims he had nothing to do with the 84-year-old’s disappearance, saying her son-in law is a “good guy,” who does not have a criminal record or history of being violent.

“They had somebody give a tip that the lady was in my house,” she said, noting that she doesn't know who Nancy is or anything about her. “I told them you can go in and search my house. There is nobody there. I have nothing to hide.”

Josefina said authorities were "invading" her property and “taking a lot of pictures.”

She also told reporters she is “positive” her son-in-law was at home during the time Nancy was abducted.

Law enforcement has yet to confirm the name of the detained individual, nor have they officially named a suspect or person of interest.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it was “conducting a court-authorized search” of the detained person's home, according to Tucson news outlet KOLD.

FBI Director Kash Patel also said on Tuesday that agents are looking for more than one individual as a person of interest in the case.

Nancy Guthrie has not yet been found and the FBI urges anyone with tips or leads to call 1-800-CALL-FBI in addition to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office number, 520-351-4900. A $50,000 reward is currently being offered to anyone with information leading to Nancy or the arrest of her kidnapper.

This is a developing story...

Nancy Guthrie Detained Subject: New Details Emerge

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 11:02pm

More details are emerging about the individual who was detained for questioning in connection with Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, including his alleged job.

"In Rio Rico, Texas near Mexico where subject was detained," reported Brian Entin, who has been on the scene in Arizona since Guthrie's disappearance. "Just talked to his family and they say he was delivering DoorDash when he was pulled over."

Entin reiterated that the detained individual is not being considered a "suspect" or "person of interest" at this time.

"The latest from my sources is, unfortunately, they have not located Nancy Guthrie. But they do have this person detained and being questioned right now."

— Brian Entin (@BrianEntin) February 11, 2026

Entin's report comes just moments after the Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed they had detained an individual during a traffic stop south of Tucson.

CNN later confirmed that a court-authorized search warrant was being conducted on a home in the Rio Rico area, though it is unclear whether the detained individual lives on the premises.

The outlet spoke with a woman who claimed to be the owner of the house in question, who said, "They told me that they had somebody gave a tip that [Nancy Guthrie] was in my house."

The unnamed woman, who claimed to the be mother-in-law of the detained man, added, "We don't know her at all. I don't know who she is. I don't know anything about her. They only said that they [got] a tip that she was in my house. I told them, 'You can go in and search the house. There's nobody there. I have nothing to hide. There's nobody in my house, and I don't know what's going on.'"

She added that her son-in-law, Carlos, works in Tucson as a delivery driver, possibly for FedEx.

Entin later spoke with the same woman and added, "They took all of their electronic devices. She insists her son-in-law is not involved."

'Days of Our Lives' Confirms Shawn and Jada Romance

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 11:01pm

A new romance may be taking shape on Peacock’s Days of Our Lives, as a recent Valentine’s Day social media post hints that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) are officially a couple.

The official Days of Our Lives Instagram account shared a playful video captioned, “What keeps things spicy in Jada and Shawn’s relationship? Find out in their #MeetCute 👀 😏.”

In the clip, Jada and Shawn confirm their relationship status when asked directly, “Are you a couple?”

“Yeah, yeah we are,” they respond.

Asked how they got together, Shawn explains,  “We got set up together at work, as partners.”

Jada jokes that they were brought together by “my almost ex-husband or almost husband,” while Shawn adds, “My ex-stepfather,” Shawn added, before they simultaneously name-drop “Rafe.”

“But you know life has a way of bringing you together,” Jada explains. “Yes it does.” Shawn responded.

When asked what makes their relationship work, Shawn quips, “Definitely gotta be handcuffs,” prompting Jada to laugh and respond, “Oh baby,” before the two exit the set.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Shawn and Jada’s relationship has been teased more than once in recent months. Late last year, a preview for the show’s 61st season showed Shawn involved in a police shootout alongside J.J. (Casey Moss) and Liam (Hank Northrop), with the promo strongly suggesting that Shawn is shot.

More recently, head writers Jeanne Marie Ford and Paula Cwikly, told TV Insider’s Stephanie Sloan that Shawn and Jada will find their way “back to each other in wake of tragedy.”

Shawn and Jada’s relationship began in February of 2025, following the end of Shawn’s marriage to Belle Black (Martha Madison). Around the same time, Jada’s relationship with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gerring) collapsed after she was left at the altar by his doppelganger Arnold Feniger. The two eventually formed a close friendship that later turned romantic.

When the real Rafe later returned from captivity, Shawn and Jada chose to take a step back as Jada attempted to repair her relationship with him. That effort ultimately ended when it was revealed that Rafe had slept with his ex-wife, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), leading to their final breakup.

Most recently, Shawn and Jada have been portrayed as friends, though the latest tease suggest that a romantic reunion could still be in the cards.

Fans have also noted photos from the show’s 60th anniversary celebration, which appeared to place Shawn and Jada in each other’s storyline orbit, further adding to reunion speculation.

Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.

Walmart’s $69 Collapsible Folding Wagon Is 'Perfect for Any Adventure' and Holds 560 Pounds

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 10:45pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Some tasks are decidedly more challenging than they need to be. Hauling the groceries inside and moving gardening supplies around the yard can be a struggle. Then there are seasonal chores like transporting firewood and carting essentials to the beach or campsite. Wagons are a practical solution that can make it far easier to lug heavy loads, but finding the right type of four-wheeled carrier is essential.

While there are many factors to consider, durability and structural support are two of the most important. The Qunler Collapsible Folding Wagon has earned its sterling reputation for providing both of those, along with a 560-pound capacity and a practical, space-saving design. The thoughtfully constructed utility tool retails for $150 at Walmart, but is currently reduced to only $69 for a limited time.

With its robust heavy-duty steel and 600D polyester fabric construction, this wagon is built to shift those heavy loads while reducing strain. The wide wheels glide smoothly over any terrain, whether you're pulling it over sand with the kids or navigating a more craggy surface while camping or working outside.

The average homeowner will find it incredibly useful outside of that scope, too. The outsized capacity makes it especially well suited to carting multiple shopping bags from the car to the house, for example, or for taking laundry to the laundromat. Its 39-inch extended body can accommodate up to a 100-square-foot tent, making it an impressive companion no matter your intended use for it.

Related: Walmart's $85 3-Piece Dining Set Looks Like It's Made From 'Expensive Wood,' According to Shoppers

There are other little features included that set it apart from ordinary wagons, too, including a zippered storage back at the rear and two mesh cup holders. They're thoughtful extras that can make your wagon journey even easier, especially if you're tailgating or with kids!

Setup is simple, according to reviewers, and takes no more than a few steps to attach the wheels and affix the fabric body to the frame. The handle adjusts for maximum comfort, and rebounds automatically when pulled downward. When it's not in use, the wagon conveniently collapses to a flat silhouette that's easy to store away.

"This wagon is so big and so functional," one shopper wrote. "Perfect for any adventure!" Another customer added that it holds "massive" loads with ease. "It's been through snow, rain, wind, and mud," they said, noting that the "super big" wheels offer "consistent support."

No matter how it's used, a collapsible wagon can be a huge asset to any household. This one is available in both black and gray, and for an $81 discount it's a great value at Walmart right now. The caveat is that flash deals only last for a few days, so it's smart to grab the Qunler Collapsible Folding Wagon while it's still available.

Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy Update: Investigators Search Location in Rio Rico, Ariz.

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 10:42pm

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing after the 84-year-old was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz. home—and investigators are now searching a location in Rio Rico, Ariz.

On late Tuesday, Feb. 10, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI’s Evidence Response Team conducted a court-authorized search in Rio Rico, roughly 60 miles south of Tucson and just north of the Mexico border, CNN reported.

Police cordoned off a road, Camino Agosto, near Interstate 19, per CNN. The operation was expected to last for several hours.

During the search of the property, a woman named Josefina in Rio Rico told CNN that it is her home that law enforcement was scouring after they received a tip.

“They had somebody give a tip that the lady was in my house,” she said. “I told them you can go in and search my house, there is nobody there. I have nothing to hide.”

According to Josefina, law enforcement is investigating her son-in-law, who she said was detained. KOLD reported that the man detained is Carlos Palazuelos. "He had nothing to do with that," she told CNN.

“I’m sorry what’s happened to (the Guthries),” she added. “I don’t know her, I don’t know anything about their lives or what’s going on, but I’m so sorry—whoever took her, I hope she got back safe.”

News of the execution of a search warrant in Rio Rico came on the heels of a person being detained for questioning following the release of photos and video footage of a potential suspect. It is unclear whether the detainee is the same man spotted in the images.

Late on Feb. 10, FBI Director Kash Patel also confirmed that multiple persons of interest are being investigated in relation to Nancy's case.

On Feb. 1, the PCSD launched a search for Nancy, who was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31, at her home. The PCSD declared her residence a crime scene, determining that Nancy was “taken” from her residence “against her will.” Additionally, law enforcement confirmed that the blood discovered at the home belonged to her.

Investigators have since returned to Savannah’s mother's Tucson home multiple times to search for evidence. A video of a vehicle of interest was submitted to law enforcement, in addition to agents finding a camera on the roof of Nancy’s home. The FBI added digital billboards across several states in hopes of obtaining more leads, too.

On Feb. 9, hours before a ransom deadline passed, Savannah posted an Instagram video thanking fans for prayers on behalf of herself and her siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie.

“We believe our mom is still out there,” Savannah said. “We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock, trying to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken, and we don’t know where.”

The Today star concluded, “We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help.”

The summer headlining tour begins May 31 in Dewey Beach, Delaware and will travel across major cities, including Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Cleveland, St. Louis and Madison before wrapping up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 8.

The announcement comes after Taking Back Sunday wrapped a busy 2025 tour with Coheed and Cambria. Now, the band is ready to return to the road with special guests Bayside, longtime friends who share deep roots in the early 2000s emo and pop-punk scene.

Vocalists Jason Butler of letlive., Anthony Raneri of Bayside and Chris DeMakes of Less Than Jake attend the 2014 Gibson Brands AP Music Awards at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on July 21, 2014 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Taking Back Sunday and Bayside Reunite After 14 Years

For fans who grew up with songs like “MakeDamnSure” and “Devotion and Desire,” this tour feels like a full-circle moment. Taking Back Sunday reflected on their history with Bayside in a heartfelt message:

We're proud to share that this summer Bayside will be opening for our good friends Taking Back Sunday along the East Coast and through the Midwest.

Presale tickets will be available Wednesday at 10am local time at https://t.co/ZzlYeDsdBw with VIP Upgrades available on Friday. pic.twitter.com/5cf88CTlwC

— Bayside (@BaysideBand) February 10, 2026

“We first started playing shows with Bayside around Long Island and the greater tri-state area in the early 2000s. We played in basements and dive bars. The shows weren’t very well attended but we were having the time of our lives.”

The band added:

“Since those days, we’ve been fortunate enough to remain friends and share labels and stages across the globe. In 2012 Bayside was kind enough to join us in celebrating our 10 year anniversary of Tell All Your Friends. After 14 years, we thought it was about damn time we hit the road with them again. We can’t wait to see you out there!”

The tour includes both headline shows and festival stops. Before the official run kicks off in late May, Taking Back Sunday will appear at Busch Gardens in Tampa on May 3 and at Dia Libre Festival in Monterrey, Mexico on May 9.

  • August 8 – Bethlehem, PA – Musikfest

Some dates are festival appearances, while others are full headline shows featuring both bands.

Bayside Celebrates 25 Years in the Scene

The 2026 tour also arrives during a milestone moment for Bayside. Formed in 2000 in Queens, New York, the band is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Over the years, they have released nine studio albums and built a loyal fanbase known for its deep connection to the band’s emotional lyrics and melodic punk sound.

Bayside’s journey has not been easy. In 2005, a tragic van accident claimed the life of drummer John “Beatz” Holohan and seriously injured bassist Nick Ghanbarian. The band pushed forward, releasing The Walking Wounded in 2007, an album many fans consider their most powerful work.

Today, core members Anthony Raneri, Jack O’Shea, Nick Ghanbarian and Chris Guglielmo continue to carry the band’s legacy. In 2025, Bayside released a re-recorded version of their hit song “Devotion and Desire” to mark their anniversary.

Seeing Bayside and Taking Back Sunday share a stage again feels like a celebration of survival, friendship and two decades of music that shaped a generation.

Finally, a Carry-On That Tackles One of Travel’s Messiest Issues

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 10:05pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

As magical as travel can be, there's always a tiny voice in the back of your head reminding you that airports are, to put it simply, a lot. So many people, so many rolling suitcases, so many tray tables and armrests that have seen things. Hotels do their best (and we appreciate them for it), but when rooms turn over that quickly, you can't help but wonder about the remote control or the decorative throw pillow. It isn't that travel is dirty—it's just that when that many humans are moving through the same spaces, a little germiness is inevitable.

And then there's your suitcase. The real drama isn't even the airport—it's the moment you're trying to separate your worn clothes from the fresh ones. Suddenly you're building little fabric walls, shoving socks into shoes, and praying your gym outfit doesn't cozy up to your clean dinner look. It's chaotic, right?

But wait, there's actually a really simple solution to this problem. Flipside designed a carry-on that's actually kind of genius and should really be mandatory for all luggage. It has a movable center divider that keeps clean and worn clothes totally separate—no extra laundry bags, no packing cubes required. You just flip the partition as the trip goes on. It keeps everything organized and makes unpacking way less worrisome.

22-Inch Carry-On, $349 at FlipSide Luggage

FlipSide Luggage

From the outside, FlipSide's carry-on looks like a simple, sleek piece of luggage, but it's really that partition that sets it apart (no pun intended) from other travel pieces. And it comes in four different colorways: pink stripes, red stripes, blue stripes or white stripes.

Related: Carbone’s Newest Sauce Makes the ‘Perfect Plate of Creamy Pasta’: ‘Immediately Yes’

Having put this carry-on to use on two separate weekend trips, I can personally say it does an excellent job at keeping my worn clothes a safe distance away from my clean stuff. And that's such a relief when you arrive back home and are trying to decide if everything needs to get thrown in the wash, even if you didn't wear it.

The carry-on itself is only 8 pounds, so you're starting out with a light piece of luggage in and of itself (how much you add to it to make it heavier is on you). And it rolls like a dream. If you're worried whether or not the carry-on's dimensions will really fit into that dastardly overhead compartment, let me put your mind at ease. In FlipSide's product description they describe the bag as TSA complaint, fitting the U.S. standard of 22-inches-by-14-inches-by 9-inches.

While this makes a great piece of luggage to purchase for yourself, it also makes a great gift for the frequent flier in your life ... or someone who you may be traveling with on a special trip soon enough.

‘90s Country Legend Shares a Message After Being Robbed and Shot Four Times

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 10:00pm

Tracy Lawrence is offering some guidance for anyone who has faced a life-altering traumatic event, drawing from his own experience 35 years ago. It was 1991 when the country music star was unexpectedly shot four times during a mugging in Nashville, Tenn., following a studio recording session for his album, Sticks and Stones

Fortunately,  the “Texas Tornado” star survived that terrifying ordeal, and today, he is able to reflect on how the incident has changed his life. Since that day, Lawrence has been open about the physical and mental toll the experience took on him. While his recovery is ongoing, he has gained a new perspective from the horrific ordeal, and he’s sharing it with others.

He Shared Some Advice

"One of the most important things you can do when you go through something like that is to talk to somebody about it,” he said in an interview with Fox News Digital. “Don't suppress it. Purge that thing out and get it out and deal with it and confront it, because if you don't, eventually it's going to come out in a way that you can't control."

Lawrence remembers not facing his trauma head-on — something he regrets to this day.

"I was angry back then," he admitted. "I felt like… they were trying to take my opportunity away from me, and I didn't get the mental help that I needed.”

He continued, “ I'm much more aware of the consequences, whether it's, you know, if you go through a physical altercation or family trauma or whatever those things are. I'm a big believer in taking care of your mental health these days, and I didn't do that at the time. That was a very traumatic experience for me."

Lawrence said that suppressing his pain “caused me a lot of problems in my personal relationships, and problems in my career.” Noting, “When you overcome a life-altering experience like that, I think there's a little bit of a God complex that comes with it when you survive something that you probably shouldn't have. It caused me to push things to the edge a lot more than I would have if that had not happened to me.”

His Recovery Is Ongoing

Undergoing major surgery to remove bullets was also part of the healing process, and included extracting one from his knee. Lawrence ended up spending many days in the Vanderbilt Medical Center during that time.

"I really thought there for a while that they were going to have to amputate my leg, and that was pretty traumatic in itself, and I still struggle with that injury too,” Lawrence remembered, adding that he may need to have ankle surgery by the end of 2026.

This Spring, He’ll Hit the Road for His Headlining Tour

In addition, the charttopping artist shared a throwback on Instagram: one photo of him smiling, another of him in the hospital. He also captioned, “Back in 1991, I was mugged and shot four times. There’s a whole lot that goes into recovering from something like that, and music sure did help. Can’t wait to say thank you and celebrate on the No Alibis Tour this year!”

View this post on Instagram

In a stronger mental state, Lawrence will soon embark on his headlining 2026 No Alibis Tour, which kicks off in March and goes through August.

"I think it's a good time to go back out there," Lawrence said. "You know, I've never really stopped touring, but you know, to reconnect with some of those fans that I haven't seen in 25 years, and folks that followed me in the early '90s, and just to reconnect with that audience."

Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy: Multiple Persons of Interest Are Being Investigated, FBI Director Confirms

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 9:59pm

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing—and FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that multiple persons of interest are being investigated after photos and videos of a potential suspect were released.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, Patel spoke with Fox News about the latest updates in the 84-year-old's missing case after she was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home.

“We are looking at people who, as we say, are persons of interest,” Patel said, per CNN. Although he did not share details about who these individuals might be, Patel said investigators are in the process of eliminating anyone who might not actually be involved in Nancy's disappearance.

Patel also said that the FBI's outreach to the private sector showed “there might be persons of interest in and around the area related to this event.” Although the FBI's top priority is finding Nancy, he said that “right behind that is to find anyone and any others involved in this kidnapping case to make sure they’re brought to justice.”

On Feb. 1, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) launched its search for Nancy, who was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31, at her home. The PCSD declared her residence a crime scene, determining that Nancy was “taken” from her residence “against her will.” Law enforcement also confirmed that the blood discovered at the home belonged to her.

Investigators have returned to Savannah’s mom’s home multiple times to search for evidence. A video of a vehicle of interest was submitted to law enforcement, in addition to agents finding a camera on the roof of Nancy’s home. The FBI also added digital billboards across several states in hopes of obtaining more leads.

Additionally, multiple alleged ransom notes surfaced, and Nancy’s family sent several public video messages to the captors. A Feb. 7 video featured Savannah vowing to pay the staggering ransom amount.

She reiterated, “We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help.”

On Feb. 10, photos and video footage of a potential suspect were released, and a person was detained for questioning.

Shakira Fans Praise 'Warrior' Move After Video of Scary Onstage Fall Goes Viral

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 9:16pm

Shakira proved she is unstoppable this week after recovering from a scary fall during her historic Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour stop in El Salvador.

The "Hips Don't Lie" superstar was performing her classic hit "Si Te Vas" at the Jorge "Mágico" González Stadium when she appeared to twist her ankle, tumbling to the stage floor and landing hard on her elbow. While fan footage of the incident immediately circulated on social media, sparking waves of concern, the singer’s response has turned a frightening moment into a viral masterclass in resilience.

The "Made of Rubber" Update

Despite the audible gasp from the crowd, and what looked like a painful impact, Shakira reportedly wasted no time getting back on her feet. According to concertgoers, she continued the performance almost instantly, later addressing the mishap with the crowd by joking, "Ouch, what a fall!".

However, it was her post-show update that truly calmed fans' nerves. Taking to social media to address the "hard fall," Shakira dismissed fears of a serious injury with characteristic humor.

"Don't worry, I'm made of rubber," she shared in a lighthearted update, adding in Spanish that "nobody escapes falls".

A Historic Tour Moment

The incident occurred during a landmark run for the singer. The El Salvador concerts mark Shakira's first-ever performances in the country, a major milestone for her record-breaking world tour. The demand was so high that organizers added multiple dates to accommodate the sold-out crowds.

Videos from the night show not just the fall, but the electric energy of the audience and a touching backstage moment between Shakira's sons, Milan and Sasha, who were seen embracing while watching their mom perform.

Fans Rally Around the "Warrior"

Social media has been flooded with support for the Colombian icon, with many praising her professionalism. "Only the brave rise up and keep going like nothing happened," one fan commented, while the an Instagram caption about the fall dubbed her a "warrior" for finishing the set without missing a beat.

For now, the tour continues as scheduled, with Shakira proving once again that it takes a lot more than a stumble to keep a legend down.
