Grumpy Orange Cat’s Ongoing Battle With the New Cat Flap Is Comedy Gold

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 7:55pm

Being a cat parent, you become aware very quickly that these animals run on their own rules, and they're pretty independent. They don't mind playing on their own, they'll come for cuddles when they want them, and they'll ignore you when they don't. They also don't need an escort to get some fresh air outside. Actually, they're happy to use a cat flap, so they don't even need a human to open the door for them.

In this video, we learn that there is a learning curve to using that cat flap for some kitties, and watching a grumpy Orange Cat try to figure it out is actually hilarious.

Any tips? 😅 #cat #orangecat #cats

♬ Welp, Didn't Expect That - Yu-Peng Chen & HOYO-MiX

TikToker @mangus_the_orange shared a video of the charming Orange Cat, Mangus, who was having a funny moment with the cat flap on the door of his house. He has the funniest, grumpiest look on his face as the round-cheeked kitty pokes his head out the door flap, looking outside. His ears being held down by the door flap makes this even funnier because it makes him look so mad and annoyed.

Mangus doesn't even try to get out of the door; instead, he gives a grumpy look directly into the camera, then pops his head back in the door, seemingly giving up on trying to let himself out into the world. With his cheeks, Mangus looks like he could be a chubby Orange Cat, so maybe he was worried that he wouldn't fit, or he just wasn't interested in going outside to touch the grass.

In the comments, people had a lot to share about grumpy Mangus and his battle with the new cat flap.

One person wrote, "That is a porthole, and he is using it correctly."

Another shared, "Why use the cat flap when you have a door opener, i.e., you?"

Someone else added, "Yeah, use treats, some snacks, and hold the flip open with one hand."

Other comments included, "It looks a bit small for him," "You're going to need a bigger cat flap," "It's a viewing portal," "Too small for him," "He wants a bigger opening," "Thanks for the window," and "He will learn when he sees a pigeon outside."

How Cats Learn To Use Cat Flaps and Why Some Take Longer To Adjust Than Others

It's really funny to watch this silly Orange Cat struggle with the door, but we have to give him some understanding, since there is a learning curve to using it.

According to PetPlanUK, some kitties take to the cat door and understand how to use it very quickly, while others take a little longer and might need extra incentive to try it out and start using it.

The site explains that installing a cat flap is a great way to give your feline access to both indoor and outdoor spaces. That door can be especially cool if the plan is to put it as an entrance into a catio. But whatever the use, getting your pet to use the door is the first goal, which starts with introduction, keeping the door open at first, using rewards, and taking it slowly.

If your cat is being extra reluctant, PetPlan UK explains that you can try feeding meals near or under the flap to encourage your kitty to see that space as a happy zone. You can also use familiar scents on the flap to help them feel safe, since cats use their sense of smell so much. Do your best to keep the routines predictable while you're training.

Rescue Dog Cactus's First 'Beard Trim' With Dad Leaves Him Beaming With Pride

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 7:25pm

Anyone who shares their life with a dog knows that personal space is often optional. Whether you're cooking dinner, folding laundry, or trying to get ready for the day, chances are your four-legged shadow is right there, making sure they don't miss a thing.

That's certainly true for Rescue Dog Cactus, whose signature smile and lovable personality have already won plenty of hearts. This time, however, his curiosity led to one of his funniest moments yet.

In a June 10 TikTok shared by @cactustherescue, Cactus sits attentively beside his dad as he trims his beard with an electric trimmer. Watching every move with interest, the rescue pup seems determined not to miss a single moment before getting his own treatment.

Check it out:

@cactustherescue

Cactus loves watching me trim my beard. I could tell he wanted involved this time! How do you think he looks?

Once Dad is finished, he turns his attention to Cactus. Keeping up the buzzing sounds, he carefully gives his sweet pup his very own "shave," complete with all the seriousness of a professional grooming session. When the makeover is complete, Cactus is lifted up to admire himself in the mirror, looking every bit like a dog who knows he just received the VIP treatment.

It's easy to see why fans fell in love with the sweet interaction.

Viewer @Steph summed it up perfectly, writing, "Reason #693647 why I love dogs. He wants to be included. So much love."

Another commenter, @Jlyn, couldn't help but admire the rescue pup's post-grooming confidence, joking, "Such a distinguished gentleman."

Meanwhile, @nåt pointed out what may become a new household tradition: "Now you are going to have to add his shaving to your routine."

Cactus Can't Get Enough of Dad's Grooming Routine

And it's not just a shave, Cactus wants in on. In this June 14 TikTok, he's right there for the hair styling too:

@cactustherescue

Since Cactus had his first shave the other day I figured I’d complete the look and try out a new hairstyle for him!

♬ Soft Sand, Subtle Rhythm - Lại Văn Nam

Anyone who has a dog knows how closely they pay attention to daily routines. Whether it's following us from room to room, waiting by the door at 5 pm, or joining in on everyday activities, many pups just want to feel included.

For Cactus, that extends to grooming routines as well

And judging by the proud look on his face when Dad held him up to the mirror, this Rescue Dog seemed pretty pleased with his very first shave.

Dachshund Gets Stuck in a Sleeve, and It’s Peak Sausage Dog Chaos

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 6:55pm

Certain Dachshund moments feel like a rite of passage, and watching one get trapped inside clothing is absolutely first on the list.

In the video, Kai, the Doxie, is fully stuck in the sleeve, and the situation is both very serious and deeply unserious. His mom explains in the post caption that he was only trying to snuggle her clothes, which is honestly the most Dachshund thing possible. He wasn't looking for trouble. He was seeking comfort, warmth, and maybe a little emotional support laundry.

@lifeofkai6

he was just trying to snuggle my clothes😭😭😭 #dachshundsoftiktok #weeniedog #funnydachshund #dachshundlife #pigsinablanket

♬ original sound - Noah

Unfortunately, Dachshund anatomy had other plans.

Kai's long, little body has somehow committed to the sleeve experience, and now the dog is wedged in like a very confused sausage in a fabric casing. You can see why one viewer basically took one look at the pup and declared that this was true sausage dog behavior. No notes. The nickname has never been more accurate.

The best part is Mom trying to help while also completely losing it. She's laughing, apologizing for laughing, and still doing her best to gently push Kai out of this accidental clothing tunnel. It's that very specific pet parent moment where you know you need to be useful, but your animal has done something so ridiculous that your nervous system simply chooses laughter first.

And really, who could blame her?

Kai looks like he entered the sleeve with confidence and then immediately regretted every decision that led him there. One minute thinking, "This smells like my person and looks cozy." The next was a tube dog with no clear exit strategy.

That's why Dachshunds are comedy gold. They're brave, dramatic, stubborn, snuggly, and built like they were designed by someone who wanted maximum personality in minimum clearance. They'll burrow into blankets, laundry piles, sleeves, couch cushions, and anything else that feels like a den. Then they'll act personally surprised when the den becomes a trap.

Still, the whole thing is incredibly precious. Kai wasn't being naughty. The sausage just wanted to be close to his mom's scent, and if that meant crawling into a sleeve like a tiny emotional support noodle, so be it.

Luckily, Mom was there to rescue him from his wardrobe crisis, even if she had to laugh through the mission. Kai may have lost the battle with the sleeve, but he definitely won the internet.

Every Dachshund parent knows this won't be the last time.

Why Dachshunds Love Burrowing Into Clothes

If your sausage loves crawling into blankets, laundry, or clothing, you're not alone. Many Doxies love tight, cozy spaces because they were originally bred to dig and go into dens. You can make that habit safer by offering soft blankets, supervised snuggle spots, and clothes-free zones when sleeves, strings, or tight openings could become a problem.

The American Kennel Club notes that Dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers, which helps explain their bold personality and natural love of burrowing. That instinct can be adorable, but it's still worth checking that your pup can always back out safely.

Kai's sleeve adventure is a perfect reminder that Dachshunds don't just find comfort. They commit to it with their whole long bodies.

Golden Retriever Puppy Thinks Printer Is a 'New Fetch Machine' and It's Hilarious

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 6:10pm

Puppies frequently get themselves into trouble, thanks to their insatiable curiosity and penchant for mischief. These fluffy fur babies consider everything a toy to be played with and freely explore areas that are supposed to be off-limits. Their antics can be a bit destructive yet hilarious.

Sally the Golden Retriever puppy recently discovered some office equipment and quickly made up her own little game.

@sally_thegoldenpup

I discovered a new toy. And it is a 10/10 🖨️🐾😍 #goldenretrieverpuppy #goldenretriever #goldenretrieverlife #puppytiktok #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - Sally

In the TikTok from @sally_thegoldenpup, the precious puppy stared at her mom's printer, completely enraptured as paper magically appeared from the machine. Every time the printer produced a sheet, Sally grabbed the paper with her teeth and turned into a puppy paper shredder.

"I discovered a new toy. And it is a 10/10," the caption read.

Sally's mom reprimanded the canine cutie, but the pup was too excited over this fascinating item to listen. The camera panned over to show a pile of ripped-apart papers, making it clear that Sally had been having some fun for quite a while.

The gorgeous Golden was practically glued to the printer as she anxiously waited for another piece of paper to appear. Despite her mom's admonishments, Sally was too captivated to budge. The scene became a race of who could get to the printed paper first.

Followers got a kick out of the comical scene and chalked it up to puppy chaos:

  • "It's a new fetch machine mom," one pointed out.
  • "I'm just trying to help mom! This thing looks dangerous and it's noisy... I help, I protect you! So cute!" another posted.
  • "Like a professional," a follower noted.
  • "I hope those papers weren’t important!" someone remarked.
Ideal Toys for Golden Retriever Puppies

While a loud and active printer will certainly capture a puppy's attention, it's far from ideal as a toy. There are plenty of toy options to consider as fun items for your fur baby.

Teething rings made of durable nylon provide your pup with plenty of chew time and can be soothing for their gums. Baby Kongs offer a spot to hide a treat and are also excellent chewing toys.

Rope toys are great for getting between your puppy’s teeth and massaging their gums. They are also ideal for playing a mini tug-of-war game with your pup.

Related:

Other items include non-toxic, durable balls and dental bones. Choose toys carefully to make sure there is no chance of choking hazards.

Sally seems very creative and can probably turn almost anything into a fun toy, though hopefully she'll stick to those made specifically for puppies.

I Tried Amazon's Premium Wild Bird Food, And My Yard Became a Bird Hotspot

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 4:35pm

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If you're looking for a premium wild bird food that will attract new species to your yard, then you really need to give two specific flavors of suet a try: berry and peanut. The C&S Suet Variety Value Pack has both flavors for only $40 for a 24-pack on Amazon. That's less than $2 per suet block. And in my opinion, the price is more than worthwhile based on the results you'll see.

For the past year, I've been trying to get the wild birds in my backyard interested in suet, and it finally worked. But only because of these particular flavors! They're going wild for the Berry Treat and Peanut Delight suet cakes. All of a sudden, I'm seeing species I've never seen before, like woodpeckers and starlings. But I'm also seeing more of the beautiful old faithfuls too, like blue jays, goldfinches, titmice, and cardinals.

What's also great about the C&S brand of suet cakes is that they absolutely do not melt in the summer heat, just as advertised. I'm in Texas, where it's already getting into the 90s on some days. And these suet blocks have held up perfectly.

On Amazon, these suet blocks have a high rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars overall, with more than 3,700 reviews. Buyers agree with me that this is an economical and fun buffet for fruit and nut-eating birds.

"The birds absolutely love this suet! It attracts a wide variety and keeps them coming back all day," writes one buyer who had the same experience as me.

"These are great suet cakes - my birds go crazy for them! Also great price," writes another reviewer.

"I recently purchased the C&S Peanut Delight No Melt Suet Dough, and it has quickly become a favorite among the backyard birds," says a third buyer.

In one pack, you'll get 12 blocks of C&S Peanut Delight and 12 blocks of C&S Berry. The blocks are formulated to have a higher melting point of at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit. So you will likely only need to change them out early on the very hottest days of the summer.

Adorably Sensitive German Shepherd's Response to New Puppy Is Peak Only-Child Energy

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 2:48pm

For eight full years, Molly had one job. Stay close to her favorite person, be his shadow dog, and watch his every move.

Then, her dad went out and got a young German shepherd mix puppy. Now, Molly, his senior German shepherd, refuses to make eye contact, will not come when called, and looks like she has filed a silent formal complaint.

🐶SIGN UP to get "pawsitivity" delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

Her dad was surprised by the new relationship; he went on r/germanshepherds to seek advice. He wrote, "Honestly, my feelings are hurt. I am worried I ruined our relationship."

The good news is he hasn't. The bad news is he will have to work on it.

The Relationship is Not Broken

Other pet parents responded to his honest confession. They encouraged him to work on his relationship with Molly.

One commenter went through the same experience and said, "I experienced the same with our 5-year-old in the back when we brought this new rascal home. I had to specifically give special attention to my 5 year old and she perked up again. It's one big happy family now."

Another chipped in, saying, "Puppy disrupts the whole household routine. GSDs can be pretty sensitive to routine disruptions."

Related: Rescue German Shepherd's Remarkable Transformation Proves the '3-3-3' Rule Really Works

Why Senior Dogs Go Cold After a New Puppy

Velcro dogs like German shepherds build their world around one person and their routine. They were bred to be companion animals.

Puppies disrupt that routine. Right now, Molly is not rejecting her owner. She is under stress. She needs areas the puppy cannot reach.

How to Help Your First Baby Feel Secure Again

Many pet parents gave the same answer: more one-on-one attention with the senior dog. One commenter was specific, saying, "Not just attention but do things with her. You need to show her you need her."

That means dedicated time with your senior dog. Not quick pats between puppy interactions, no attention when the puppy is nearby. Make intentional one-on-one time a priority.

Familiar activities remind dogs that their place in the family hasn't changed.

Dogs Need Reassurance

It is impossible to know what Molly is thinking. But parents with sensitive dogs know the feeling. One day your dog is your constant companion. Then there is a bouncy puppy getting plenty of attention and treats.

All dogs need is reassurance that you still love them. One commenter said, "She just loves you. She thinks maybe being your shadow is the puppy's job now."

Man's Daily Homecoming Has a Secret Admirer, and It's Not Who You'd Expect

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 12:48pm

There are friendly neighborhood dogs, but some take their job even more seriously. As one man posted on Reddit, his neighbor's dog has been waiting for him every day for six months.

The dog, which, by the pictures, looks like a Jack Russell terrier, does not wait at the door or on the porch. He waits through a hole in the shared wall, pushing his snout through and greeting him every time he comes back from work.

🐶SIGN UP to get "pawsitivity" delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

The dog has had his full attention from the start. He boops his snoot every time he comes. And sometimes, he gives him treats, or as he says, "bones."

My neighbor's dog has been peeping through a hole in our wall for about six months now, greeting me everyone I come back home.
by u/OpportunityEasy5516 in aww Tiny Ritual People Cannot Stop Smiling About

As one commenter on the Reddit post said, "I love when the neighbor dogs learn my work schedule. They greet me in the AM and PM."

For some people, this tiny ritual might not mean a lot. But for this guy, who doesn't own a dog himself, that ritual is everything.

And the people in the thread cannot get enough of it. Neighborhood dogs are the best. One day, they notice you, and the next one, they wag their tail. Before you know it, they track your schedule better than your family.

This is another example of how dogs recognize routines and learn patterns. Whether that is feeding time, walks, or the favorite neighbor coming back from work, dogs notice.

Related: Mom Calls Out Sick, Only to Witness Her Dogs’ Secret Daily Ritual

The Internet Decided the Dog's Intentions

One commenter said, "He loves you," to which the original poster replied, "I hope he does. Sometimes it just feels like he's there for the bones."

Others had more dramatic solutions for this relationship. One joked, "6 months now and you still haven't torn down the wall?!"

At the end of the day, this is a great relationship that exists through a tiny window into another dog's world.

Why Do We Love Stories Like These

Many pet parents and pet lovers experience similar relationships with dogs. Sometimes, it is the dog down the street by the fence during your walks. Or the golden retriever who wants to say hello to everyone they meet. Or the senior dog who watches from the porch and probably knows everyone who passes by.

Those might be small relationships, but for some people, they become part of daily life. This dog might have another parent, but he has claimed partial ownership of his favorite neighbor as well.

Whether he is there for the friendship or the bones, he keeps showing up and improving one man's daily life.

Dachshund 'Chews Out Mom' for Leaving Him at Doggie Boarding—and the Sass Is Real

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 12:30pm

Dachshunds are tiny dogs, but that doesn't mean they can't pack a huge personality into those little bodies. Plenty of pups who belong to this breed are born with a lot of opinions, along with the need to share those opinions with anyone who will listen, animal or human.

And in the case of Moose the Dachshund, those opinions all revolve around going to doggie boarding — basically, that he really, really isn't into the idea of being left behind. Poor Moose!

@whimsiweens

Moose is a spicy ween #dachshundsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #dogs #dogmom

♬ original sound - WhimsWeens

Moose's mom shared a video of her two Dachshunds sitting in their car seats after leaving doggie boarding, and let's just say Moose really isn't happy about the way things have played out here.

His brother, Archie, is trying so hard to mind his own business, but Moose just can't quiet down. He's barking at his mom to let her know that, in the future, wherever she's going, she needs to take them with her. Forget about this boarding thing!

Even when their mom says their names, Moose still refuses to dignify her with a response. She might be on the receiving end of a lot of attitude from him for the foreseeable future.

How to Choose the Right Doggie Boarding Facility

Boarding your dog can be really stressful. Even if you just need to find the right place for them to stay while you're off on a fun vacation, nothing is going to stop a pet parent from worrying about their dog's welfare while they're gone. How can we possibly have fun if they're miserable?

Fortunately, you do have control over where you board your dog, so doing research ahead of time is key.

As Fayetteville Veterinary points out, there are a few factors to consider when choosing a doggie boarding facility:

  • The cleanliness of the facility
  • The space and privacy they are able to offer your dog
  • Daily exercise time and routines
  • Safety protocols that are already put in place
  • How experienced the staff are (especially when it comes to your dog's particular needs)
  • Vaccination requirements for dogs who board there

You can never be too careful when it comes to ensuring your dog will be safe, happy, and well cared for when you're not around, so remember that the right facility will be open and honest in answering all your questions before you book. If they seem like they're dodging questions, look at that as a red flag for sure.

With any luck at all, your dog will have a blast while you're gone and be happy to see you when you get back. There's nothing better than that reunion!

Senior Pug Is the Sneakiest Thief—And We Support Her Crimes

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 12:22pm

If you're lucky enough to get to the twilight years with your pet, you're in for a real treat. New quirks come out, new habits, and sometimes, they even find new ways to commit crimes.

Take Wilma, for example. Wilma is a senior Pug whose human shares her antics and day to days via TikTok at @wilmatheseniorpug. Recently, her person took to social media to share their latest experiment: Pretending to fall asleep in front of Wilma while holding a cube of cheese.

The results, of course, are hilarious.

@wilmatheseniorpug

Don’t worry she got her cheese 😂 #dogsoftiktok #pug #dog

♬ original sound - user8276237552639

Wilma does her best to secure the goods, but her floppy tongue and the cheddar's angle just don't do her justice in the end. The cheese ends up falling into the blankets and Wilma's hard work is for nothing.

Commenters got a huge kick out of the viral video saying:

"me trying to eat after a dentist appointment when my mouth is still numb"

"She was about as stealthy as a marching band."

"I’m pretty sure that if you give it to her directly, she’ll still miss it 😂"

Rest assured, Wilma did get her cheese in the end, her owner confirmed via the caption on the hysterical video.

Best Snacks for Senior Pets Photo by Benjamin Wong on Unsplash

Photo by Benjamin Wong on Unsplash

As your pup crosses from typical adulthood into their senior years, it's more important than ever to pay attention to their bodies and their diets. Diets for our older animals may require things like controlled calories to prevent weight gain, more easily digestible proteins to account for muscle mass, and added supplements like glucosamine and Omega-3s for joint and brain health.

Because of these factors, it's important to also be mindful of treats and snacks for your senior pet. Some good options might be:

  • Treats specifically designed for joint health and brain health
  • Soft chews that are easier on aging teeth and jaws
  • Freeze dried raw treats that are packed with protein
  • Blueberries that are rich in antioxidants
  • Veggies like carrots that are high in fiber but low in calories
  • Pumpkin which is great for gut health

However as with all things related to our fur babies, it's always best to consult with a veterinarian about any changes regarding your pet's lifestyle.

On June 14, @izskazki3 shared this video of their kitten, Helga, who is absolutely gorgeous — there are few cats out there who are more stunning than a Black Smoke Maine Coon like she is.

As Helga makes her way toward the camera to the tune of "Ice Ice Baby", we can see her gigantic paws in action. They seem pretty mismatched with her tiny body, but there's no doubt she will stay tiny for long. After all, Maine Coons are the biggest domestic breed of cats.

Still, people simply cannot get over these paws, as evidenced by the comments on the video.

"The feets are too much! I was not prepared!" one person wrote.

Another viewer commented, "I bet that baby would be a great swimmer with those flippers." (They might not actually be too far off with this prediction; many Maine Coons are known for loving the water, which is unusual for most cat breeds.)

I hope Helga's humans share more footage of her when she's fully grown, because I'm dying to know just how big she'll get!

Why Some Cats Are Born With Extra Toes

It seems like polydactyly wouldn't be all that common, but for cats, it's actually not that rare, and according to PetMD, it's even more common in Maine Coon cats, who are more likely to have extra toes.

But how does it happen? It all comes down to genetics, like all traits.

“When a polydactyl cat breeds with a non-polydactyl cat, the offspring have a 50% chance of inheriting the polydactyl gene,” veterinarian Alejandro R. Caos told PetMD. “If both parent cats are polydactyl, the likelihood of their offspring being polydactyl increases.”

For cats, being polydactyl usually means having just a couple of extra toe beans beyond the 18 that all kitties are born with. Some cats will end up having more than one or two extra toes, though, and that is actually considered rare.

The good news is that being polydactyl is basically just a fun fact of life for your cat. Those extra toes shouldn't impact their health or their mobility one bit, so don't worry if your cat happens to have Hobbit feet like Helga. It's no big deal!

Shelter Kitten Overlooked for Looking 'Different' Finally Gets Her Happy Ending

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 10:10am

Dogs and cats living in a shelter long for a forever home. Some get passed up by potential pet parents for various reasons including breed, age, or health issues. Canines and kittens with physical differences or impairments often have a harder time getting adopted, leaving them in a cage for way too long.

Michelle is a tiny shelter kitten with an eye impairment that affects her appearance, which may be a deterrent for adopters.

@peggyadamsarl

Why am I still here? Michelle has been ignored because of her looks 💔 Michelle was a little 1-month-old kitten when she came to us from an animal control facility for medical care. She was born with eye differences: eyelid agenesis (eyelids turned inward) and microphthalmia (small, underdeveloped eyes). Thankfully, we were able to send Michelle to an eye specialist for two surgeries: removal of her right eye, which was covered by a corneal ulcer, and cryosurgery to mediate eyelid agenesis in her left eye. Now, Michelle feels so much better! She still has her vision and is happier than ever. Sadly, it seems like her different appearance is stopping adopters from choosing Michelle 😢 This sweet girl has come so far - let’s find her the loving family she’s been dreaming of! Meet Michelle at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League! We’re open 11-6 daily 🧡

♬ snowfall - Øneheart & reidenshi

The TikTok from @peggyadamsarl showed the pretty kitty in her kennel. Michelle was missing one eye, and the other eye appeared smaller than average.

The feline fur baby was absolutely adorable, yet she had very few adoption applications while at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. The social media post explained the conditions affecting her eyes.

"Michelle has been ignored because of her looks," the caption explained. "Michelle was a little 1-month-old kitten when she came to us from an animal control facility for medical care. She was born with eye differences: eyelid agenesis (eyelids turned inward) and microphthalmia (small, underdeveloped eyes)."

Michelle had two recent procedures to relieve the discomfort she was experiencing and help her vision.

"Thankfully, we were able to send Michelle to an eye specialist for two surgeries: removal of her right eye, which was covered by a corneal ulcer, and cryosurgery to mediate eyelid agenesis in her left eye," the story continued. "Now, Michelle feels so much better! She still has her vision and is happier than ever."

Where Is Michelle Now?

Michelle's appearance seemed to make potential adopters hesitant, so the kitten had to wait in her kennel as she watched her fellow shelter kitties get their forever homes. Fortunately, someone saw how truly beautiful this kitten is inside and out and took her home.

"Update: ADOPTED!" the post shared in the comments.

Michelle should continue to heal after her surgeries and doesn't require extensive medical treatment. She now gets to experience the love she deserves with her forever family.

This Tiny Little Puppy Looks like the World's Smallest Chicken Finger

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 9:53am

Her name may be Cookie, but this tiny Poodle puppy looks tasty enough to dip in ketchup or ranch, depending on your condiment preferences.

Monica, @poodleswithmonica on TikTok, is an Ontario based creator and poodle breeder who regularly shares the gaggles of adorable puppies she raises to social media. Specializing in teacup, toy, and mini versions of the breed, Monica's babies are all very tiny, very cute, and very fun to see through our phones.

Recently, she went insanely viral sharing the tiniest little Poodle pup named Cookie. Who frankly, looks more like a chicken finger than a cookie but regardless of sweet vs. savory, she is so insanely cute.

@poodleswithmonica

We named her cookie 😭❤️ #puppylove #foryou #trend #dogtrend

The video, currently with over 12.5 million views, captured hearts and people couldn't get enough of Cookie.

"bro is literally a chicken tender"

"me smiling like I am the owner of the cute puppy"

"I want cookie pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee😭"

Why Are Puppies so Cute? Photo by Wai Siew on Unsplash

Photo by Wai Siew on Unsplash

All joking aside, there is actually a scientific reason behind why we find baby animals like puppies and kittens so irresistibly cute. Puppies have overly exaggerated, infant-like features, that actually produce a chemical in our brains similar to what we experience when we see human babies. Kindchenschema—or "baby schema"—is the scientific reason for the phenomena.

Seeing their clumsiness, whimsy, and baby-like features releases dopamine and gives us that "awww!" feeling. Some scientists believe that through breeding and the selection process, we've actually made it so dogs hold on to those puppy-like qualities longer, which enforces our need and desire to protect them and take care of them as their people

Call it science or call it puppy fever, one thing's for sure. When we see someone as cute as Cookie, we can't resist it! And who would want to?!

Gentle Giant Golden Retriever Finds a Bunny—and Their Bond Is Pure Magic

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 9:20am

Golden Retrievers already have a reputation for being sunshine with paws, but this one may have taken that job description a little too seriously.

In the video, a gentle Golden finds a tiny bunny and somehow decides this isn't a snack, not a toy, and definitely not something to chase. This bunny is a friend. A very small, very delicate friend who has apparently been accepted into the Golden Retriever friendship program.

@goldenlakeretriev

Looking for his nest 😩 #goldenretriever #dogsoftiktok #goldens

♬ original sound - jimbopupperino

The caption on the video jokes about whether this might be the only Golden in the world who finds a bunny and chooses friendship over food. He's so careful. So soft. So focused on this tiny, little creature, like he's trying to understand where the baby belongs.

The post also mentions that he seems to be looking for the bunny's nest, which is too tender for words. He's not just curious. He looks concerned, like he's accidentally become a giant golden search-and-rescue volunteer with zero training but the best intentions.

And then there's the moment people can't stop talking about: the bunny's little paw resting on his paw.

That's the kind of detail that turns a cute video into a full emotional event. One tiny paw on one massive paw, and suddenly, everyone watching is deeply invested in interspecies diplomacy.

One commenter pointed out that Golden Retrievers are known for being friendly with other animals, and this video is making a very strong case. This dog looks like he was built in a lab of gentleness. Big body, soft eyes, careful moments, and absolutely no interest in ruining the bunny's day.

My dog, Lola, unfortunately, wouldn't have had this same encounter. She's part Heeler and Rat Terrier, which means she was basically made to hunt little animals and tell everyone what to do while she does it. I love her with my whole heart, and a baby bunny meeting would require major supervision, distance, and possibly some bulletproof glass.

That's why the Golden's reaction feels so magical and sweet. Not every dog would respond this way, and that's OK. Dogs have different instincts, backgrounds, and personalities. But when you see one this gentle, it feels like watching a Disney movie in real time.

He didn't need to be told to be soft.
He just was.

And for that tiny bunny, that made all the difference.

Signs Your Dog Has a Gentle, Nurturing Temperament

If your pup is calm around smaller animals, moves slowly when they’re curious, checks in with you, and doesn’t immediately lunge or chase, those can be signs of a gentle temperament. Still, even sweet dogs need supervision around wildlife, because instinct can surprise you.

The American Kennel Club describes Golden Retrievers as friendly, intelligent, and devoted dogs, which helps explain why so many people see them as naturally affectionate companions. That doesn’t mean every Golden should be trusted with every baby animal, but it does make moments like this feel beautifully on-brand.

The best kind of magic is the kind where everyone is protected, even the tiny friend with the bunny feet.

Family of Pit Bulls Form Their Own Welcome Committee To Greet Tiny New Orange Foster Kitten

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 8:55am

Though Pit Bulls and kittens seem like an unlikely pairing, sometimes it just works.

In a new viral, heartwarming video, we meet a tiny Orange Kitten named Gimlet, who was just adopted and is getting quite the welcome from his new Pit Bull siblings.

@peacefulchaosranch

Gimlet is finally feeling better, so I brought him down for some one-on-one snuggles. Apparently the dogs took that personally and immediately piled into my lap to inspect, supervise, and officially welcome the new guy to the family. #cat #kitten #dog #catsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - PeacefulChaosRanch&Sanctuary

Though the dogs are very curious about their new Orange Kitten friend, you can see they're also quite gentle with this little boy.

I love that Gimlet has his hand in his mouth for most of the interaction.

As you can imagine, the viewer reaction to this sweet video of the Pit Bulls and their kitten sibling forming a strong bond had quite a bevy of comments.

One person wrote, "The black dog with white spots on his face is in love."

"Oh, they all love their little tiger already," someone else said.

And another commented, "Wait, is that a cheese puff? Looks like a cheese puff. Doesn’t smell like cheese puff. (Lick)… doesn’t taste like a cheese puff. Is a little spicy. And cute—probably the dogs."

How To Safely Introduce Dogs to Kittens

One commenter pointed out that this pet parent got very lucky that the dogs were so sweet and chill while meeting this new kitten.

The kitten was also fairly relaxed when meeting three large dogs.

Interactions don't always go that smoothly between dogs and kittens, so here are a few tips to help you make this introduction between pets just a little easier.

First of all, take it slow and be patient.

Some pets won't become best friends overnight, and that's OK.

Ensure that all the pets have their own safe spaces to retreat to.

This means separate feeding and resting areas, and in the case of kittens, a space for their litter box.

Since both cats and dogs have such incredible smell senses, introducing them to each other's scents before they actually meet is a smart way to go.

Introduce each pet to the other's bedding or toys so they can smell them and become familiar with them, but still feel safe in their own space.

The introduction here was a bit different, but it's a recommendation to put the dog behind a gate or in a crate when they first meet a new kitten.

Also, be sure to keep the introductions brief!

This Mini Dachshund Has Rare Piebald Dapple Coloring, and the Internet Cannot Look Away

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 8:15am

A Mini Dachshund with rare piebald dapple coloring is capturing hearts online, and honestly, it's easy to understand why. Between the unusual markings and those striking eyes, this little pup looks like he stepped straight out of a Disney movie.

Dog lovers and Dachshund fans alike are completely obsessed with the beautiful pup, whose unique coat pattern has people doing double takes for all the right reasons.

The adorable video was shared by the TikTok account for @the.masked.ween and stars Dodger, an absolutely gorgeous piebald dapple Dachshund whose markings make him look like he's wearing a tiny superhero mask.

Sitting beside his human on the sofa, Dodger calmly shows off the kind of coloring most dog lovers have never seen before. The dark patches around his eyes almost resemble a costume mask, which only adds to his charm.

Honestly, he looks like the canine version of Zorro.

The comments section immediately filled with admiration:

  • "You got the mythical one," one viewer joked.
  • Another person dubbed him "Phantom of the Weens," which honestly deserves an award.
  • "What an odd pattern. Love the eyebrows! Beautiful pup!" another commenter wrote.
  • "Most gorgeous Dachshund ever," one person declared.
  • And another viewer summed up what everyone was thinking by writing, "That is the most beautiful coloring I have ever seen on a dog. Wow."
  • The eyes received plenty of attention too, with one commenter writing, "Eyes like the most beautiful weighted contacts omg."

It's easy to see why people can't stop staring. Dodger has the kind of once in a lifetime coloring that makes you wonder if somebody accidentally mixed a Dachshund with a raccoon, a superhero and a tiny work of art.

Piebald dapple Dachshunds have two separate coat patterns combined together. The piebald gene creates white areas on the coat while the dapple pattern produces marbled or mottled markings.

The combination is less common than traditional Dachshund colors and can create truly unique appearances, which is why no two piebald dapple Dachshunds look exactly alike.

In Dodger's case, the result is absolutely unforgettable.

Fluffy Saint Bernard Puppies Look Like Real-Life Snoopys

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 8:00am

Puppy fur is my favorite fur in the world. While sleek, shiny adult coats are elegant and beautiful, there's something so special about the puppy fur. It's so soft and fluffy, and although their coats aren't fully formed yet, it doesn't even matter. I wish dogs could keep their puppy coat forever!

Just look at these Saint Bernard puppies. There are so many of them, and they look so fluffy it's almost unfair. Plus, with their black and white puppy coats, it makes them all kind of look like Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoons:

@northwoodssaintbernards

Russell meeting his puppies for the first time. Freya in the background sent me, I just noticed it while posting 🤣🤣🤣 #saintbernard #puppy #puppies #puppiesoftiktok #fyp

♬ original sound - Northwoods Saint Bernards

The Northwood Saint Bernards are some of the cutest Saint Bernards I have ever seen in my life! I've never seen Saint Bernards that didn't have some brown fur, too: that will likely come in stronger as they age, but until then, they all look like sweet, fluffy Snoopys to me.

Snoopy himself is actually a Beagle: he was based on the author's childhood Beagle, whose name was Spike. As a Beagle, Snoopy looks a little off: he's supposed to be tri-colored, too! But he was a print character first: Peanuts was a black-and-white comic strip. By the time recoloring him was an option, he'd become too iconic to change!

Related: Rescued Lab Beagle Discovers His Favorite Toy—and His Joy Is Absolutely Contagious

I grew up in a heavy Snoopy house, if you couldn't tell, but back to these adorable Saint Bernard puppies! They're only a few weeks old, but they're already huge, and they're only going to get bigger. Right now, they're spending time with their parents, and they love going outside right after it rains:

@northwoodssaintbernards

Puppies enjoying the cooler weather 🖤🤎🤍🐾 #saintbernard #puppy #puppies #puppiesoftiktok #fyp

♬ original sound - Northwoods Saint Bernards

Their legs are so little. I can't handle it. I love that there's a parent there supervising, too: you can see their mom behind the gate. If they get in trouble, I bet she's not afraid to raise her voice!

How Fast Do Saint Bernards Grow?

These puppies are small right now, but they're not going to stay that way for long. In these videos, there's at least one adult Saint Bernard present, and you can really see the difference. Their paws are bigger than those puppies!

Cerise HUA / Getty Images

Saint Bernard puppies typically reach full-grown between 18-24 months. While they'll be about as big as they're going to get by the time they're around a year old, it takes several months for their adult coats to fully fill in, and they'll continue to gain weight during that time.

Eventually, they won't look like little baby Snoopys anymore. That's a little sad, but I'm sure they'll be beautiful!

Cat Crashes ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Finale and Completely Steals the Show

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 7:15am

The heartbreaking finale of Romeo and Juliet isn’t supposed to get laughs, but one unexpected cast member had other plans. During a performance by the Imperial Russian Ballet Company in Turkey, a curious cat wandered onto the stage and made a beeline for the spotlight. The fearless feline not only inserted itself into the tragedy's final moments, but it also played with Romeo's hair as the actor lay motionless. Somehow, both leads maintained their composure while the four-legged thespian remained on stage, completely unbothered by its dramatic surroundings.

View this post on Instagram

While there was no shortage of praise in the comments for the actors' abilities to stay in character, it was the cat that stole the show.

"Oh Romeow, Romeow, ‘tis time to awaken!! My food dish is empty!" joked one fan.

"Dude used mouse instead of mousse in his hair," added another.

"Forget Romeo, take the cat and live a happy life!" advised a third.

But it was one viewer who really summed it up best: "It’s a cats’ world. We’re just allowed to live in it."

So true. But I'm just curious how the cat made it into the theater in the first place.

The Science Behind Why Cats Are Completely Unbothered by Human Affairs

According to cat behavior experts, curiosity is one of the defining traits of the species. Cats are naturally driven to investigate unusual sights, sounds, movements, and objects in their environment. In this case, a brightly lit stage, dramatic music, and an actor suddenly lying perfectly still likely presented an irresistible mystery.

Cat behavior expert Dr. Mikel Delgado notes that many behaviors people interpret as mischievous, disruptive, or attention-seeking are often rooted in normal feline instincts. Cats frequently explore new situations by watching, sniffing, pawing, and interacting with whatever catches their interest. What looked like a dramatic interruption to the audience was probably just a cat gathering information about a very unusual scene.

Experts also point out that cats are often drawn to places where activity is happening. They pay close attention to movement, noise, and changes in their surroundings, which can explain why this curious feline decided the center of a ballet performance was the perfect place to investigate. Pawing can be part of a cat’s instinct to test and explore unfamiliar objects. As the actor remained motionless on stage, the cat appeared determined to figure out exactly what was going on. For cats, curiosity often wins over social convention, which is why they have a remarkable talent for inserting themselves into moments that humans consider important.

Great Pyrenees Looks Like She's Wearing 'Fluffy Pantaloons' After a Fresh Blow Out

Tue, 06/16/2026 - 7:10am

Both of my dogs have short-haired coats so I don't need to take them to the groomer. A simple brushing every now and then takes care of my senior Dachshund. My Pug mix is a major shedder due to his thick undercoat, but his no-nonsense fur always looks the same no matter how many times I give him a mini grooming.

Scout the Great Pyrenees is the total opposite. Her voluminous coat normally looks on the extra poofy side, yet the results after a full blowout are head-turning.

@sawlty.dawg

#greatpyrenees #pyrenees #dogsoftiktok #dog

♬ Curious Little Creatures - BlueWhaleMusic

In the TikTok from @sawlty.dawg, Scout sashayed around the kitchen to show off her halo-like hair after a grooming appointment. The precious pooch was more coat than canine and resembled something between a giant marshmallow and a billowy cloud.

Scout was like a walking soft, airy masterpiece, with each strand of hair gathered together in pillowy perfection. Her head was a little hard to locate since her luxurious locks were center stage.

Followers marveled at the width and breadth of the fur baby's coat, with some likening her hind end to an old-fashioned garment.

"Didn’t know they made cotton balls that size," one remarked.

"She's got floofy pantaloons!" another noted.

"Until today I did not think a cloud could walk," a follower admitted.

"The pantaloons are pantalooning!" someone joked.

"That’s one huge powdered donut," a fan posted.

Caring for a Great Pyrenees' Coat

A Great Pyrenees is known for its gorgeous and lush coat. Maintenance is vital to keeping your dog's fur healthy and free of mats. A few tips for basic care include:

Related: Great Pyrenees Gently Trying to Pet Turtle Is the Sweetest Thing

  • Spend approximately 30 minutes a week brushing your pooch to prevent mats and tangles. A curved-bristle metal slicker followed by a wide-toothed stainless steel comb or rake will penetrate through the fur for the most thorough grooming.
  • Regularly check for any eye, ear, or mouth issues since things can be hidden under that massive coat.
  • Stay on top of keeping your dog's nails trimmed.
  • Surprisingly, you only need to bathe your Great Pyrenees every 3 to 4 months since their coat doesn’t cling to dirt.
  • Avoid shaving your Great Pyrenees, even in the hot weather. Their double coat keeps them warm in the winter and cool in the summer, so just trim it down to a shorter length.

You can also give your dog a style like Scout's and go for the fanciest fluff possible — it's a guaranteed showstopper.
