Birds are some of the smartest species on the planet, and as it turns out, they're also big music buffs. Animal advocate Joey Graceffa shared the story of the mama dog, whom he saw on the euthanasia list at his local shelter. He immediately sprang into action to bring her home.

The precious pooch was huddled in her kennel when Joey arrived. Her large belly made it clear that her litter would be born very soon. The stress in her sweet eyes was clearly visible as she nervously left the shelter.

As soon as he brought her back to his house, she cowered in the corner out of fear.

"You could just tell she had a lot of anxiety and she had clearly been through a lot in her life," Graceffa remarked as he tried carefully petting the pooch. "Earning her trust is going to take some work but I'm up for the challenge."

After giving her a gentle wash, Graceffa let her explore the backyard in the hopes of helping her feel more secure.

Honestly, the logic is cleaner than some human decision-making.

The video starts with people outside playing with a baseball and a bat, and Douglas, the Golden Retriever, is fully locked in from the jump. He's watching the action like a pup who was spiritually built for this exact kind of moment. Then someone hits the ball, Douglas tears off after it, and somewhere between the crack of the bat and the ball disappearing, he appears to arrive at an incredible conclusion.

According to the American Kennel Club, the Yakutian Laika can have seven different coat variations and three different markings and still be genetically related. In addition, their markings can include black, tricolored, or buff markings in all the above colors. 

That's why Freya and her siblings can all be of the same breed, even the same family, and look so different. Genetics are cool, and so is the Yakutian Laika.
