2018 Hit Horror Film Gets Named the 'Scariest Movie of the Last 40 Years'

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:34pm

While all horror movies range in themes, level of gore, and frankly, quality, each film in the genre absolutely needs to be scary. However, some horror films are simply spookier than others, either by using clever cinematography to set a creepy stage or implementing perfectly timed jump scares.

The publication Colliderrecently spotlighted a few spine-chilling films that came out within the past four decades. The ranking of the "8 scariest movies of the last 40 years," published in May 2026, included spooky movies like 1998's Ringu, Obsession from 2025, and When Evil Lurks, released in 2023.

The acclaimed 2018 horror movieHereditary, starring Toni Colletteas Annie Graham and Alex Wolffas Peter Graham, took home the list's top spot. According to the publication, the Ari Aster-directed and written film provided a relatively slow-burn, somber story, punctuated with nauseating violence and disturbing deaths.

Toni Collette Said She Didn't Want to Star in Any More 'Heavy' Movies Before 'Hereditary'

In a 2018 interview with NowThis Impact, Collette said she wanted to take a break from emotionally devastating movies before she came across Aster's Hereditary script.

"I had said to my agents I don't want to do anything heavy. I felt like I was kind of accumulating a bit of emotional gunk. And I just wanted to do some comedies and some lighter work for a while, and then they sent me Hereditary," said the Oscar-nominated actress.

Collette joked that she "was slightly furious" when she received the screenplay because she knew she had to take on the role of Annie, who goes through immense grief throughout the film. She explained that she, like many fans of the film, was drawn to the script's rawness and shocking moments.

"It was the most incredible script. I mean, I guess I felt like an audience member when I was reading it because it felt original," said Collette during the 2018 interview. "It's completely surprising. It's a total roller coaster. I loved that it started with something really truthful and natural and raw, and from that kind of pure place it turns into something totally, totally unexpected."

During a recent performance of "Friday I'm in Love," The Cure reminded audiences why the classic anthem has endured for more than three decades, with fans flooding social media afterward to give the band their flowers.

“His voice sounds like it did in the ‘80s,” one fan commented.

“They were literally mind-blowingly epic,” another shared.

“They still sound fantastic,” yet another wrote.

A bright, jangly love hit, “Friday I’m in Love” became one of the band's biggest crossover hits and remains their signature anthem for many casual fans. Released in the summer of 1992, the track was featured on The Cure’s ninth studio album, Wish. It peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100and spent four weeks on the Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Belting the song out in front of a crowd of more than 50,000, per the BBC, The Cure also worked their way through a classics-filled set that included "Pictures of You” and “The Lovecats.” As the closing headliner of the legendary four-day Isle of Wight Festival, held annually at Seaclose Park in Newport, England, the band capped off the old-out event with one classic hit after another.

"If I don't talk, we can play another song," Smith joked before diving into “Boys Don't Cry.”

The fest, which included sets from The Kooks, The Last Dinner Party, Shed Seven, Rose Gray, David Gray, The Twilight Sad, Level 42, and Suzanne Vega, culminated in fireworks over the park, per Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

The Cure are in the midst of a massive year. After winning two Grammys in February--Best Alternative Music Album for Songs of a Lost World and Best Alternative Music Performance for “Alone”--they kicked off a summer festival and outdoor headline tour across Europe in support of their latest album.

More than three decades after "Friday I'm in Love" became a radio staple, The Cure continues to prove why generations of fans keep coming back. Judging by the thousands singing every word—and the flood of nostalgic reactions online—the song hasn't aged a day.

1972 Rock Song, Never a No. 1 Hit, Remains a Radio Classic 54 Years Later

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:15pm

Fifty-four years ago, iconic '70s rock band Deep Purple released "Lazy"—a song that became a lasting rock classic despite never charting on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Lazy" was originally released on March 25, 1972 as the sixth track on their landmark studio album Machine Head. Following the album's release, the track saw major traction on FM radio stations as disc jockeys frequently spun it. After the song garnered steady listener demand, it was re-released as a promotional radio single in May 1972. The band's record label cut the track down to roughly four minutes from its original seven-minute runtime for a more radio-friendly format.

Because "Lazy" was never originally issued as a commercial single, it never garnered the sales momentum required to enter the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 chart. The primary charting single off the record to breach the top tier of the tally was "Smoke on the Water," which peaked at No. 4. Despite its lack of chart history, "Lazy" has persevered as one of the band's most beloved fan favorites.

Roger Glover, Ian Gillan, Jon Lord, Ian Paice and Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple pose for a group portrait on March 1, 1972 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Jorgen Angel/Redferns

Machine Head was Deep Purple's most commercially successful record, selling an estimated 36 million copies worldwide and peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 LP chart. The parent album's global recognition prompted radio stations to play its deep cuts religiously, helping "Lazy" develop a massive cult following.

Produced by the band themselves, "Lazy" is notable for its fiery, blues-infused hard-rock sonics. The first four minutes of the piece act as a grooving instrumental jam session. Jon Lord opens the track with a Hammond organ playing a blues-scale style, while guitarist Ritchie Blackmore adds a heavy guitar riff and bassist Roger Glover and drummer Ian Paice join with a swinging rhythm response.

Halfway through the track, vocalist Ian Gillan comes into the mix, breaking away from his signature hard-rock grit to embody a smoother blues sound. Gillan completes the song's soundscape with a dynamic harmonica solo, complementing the existing instrumentation. The fiery vocals paired with the band's experimental arrangement made for a stunning masterclass of genre crossover, only amplifying its positive audience response.

Over five decades since its initial release, "Lazy" remains a deeply impactful rock song. The track continues to thrive on Album-Oriented Rock (AOR) radio stations today, additionally finding success in the digital era through streaming platforms. On Spotify, the song has accumulated over 29 million streams, attesting to its lasting ability to touch generations of listeners.

Boy George Reveals the Untold Story of Why 'Karma Chameleon' Almost Wasn't Made

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:49pm

As if Culture Club’s iconic earworm “Karma Chameleon” didn’t already get stuck in your head sometime in late 1983, Boy George apparently really wants it to sink in right now. The legendary performer recently released an AI-enhanced version of the ultra-catchy tune in honor of his 65th birthday

And while an entire generation may think it's a legend, the singer-songwriter says that in the beginning, everyone hated it. Believe it ot not, the classic Culture Club tune was almost never made.

Just reading the name of the infectious ‘80s smash hit probably sets off a cascade of “Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma, chameleon, you come and fo, you come and go” in your brain. But according to George Dowd (a.k.a. Boy George), it didn’t receive a positive reception. At least, not at first.

The Culture Club lead recalled the rest of the band’s initial reaction in a recent interview with PEOPLE, sharing, “The first time I sang it to the band, they all hated it.”

And yes, we’re recoiling in shock right now. How could anyone possibly have anything but praise for the beyond-bubbly pop anthem that seemed happy on the outside, but was actually about changing your personality to fit someone else’s needs and the fear of alienation on the inside? But back to why he believes it was well-liked.

Boy George continued, “So, I had to almost strong-arm the track onto the album Color by Numbers because we were going in a soulful direction, and the boys, I think, preferred that. But me being me, I like to throw a spanner in the works.”

Even though his band had doubts, the pop star was completely confident in ‘Karma Chameleon.’ “I knew that song was going to be a hit. I mean, I was absolutely adamant it was going to be No. 1, even though I really had no experience to base it on.”

Going back 42 years later and rerecording the hit is something that was more than just a fun thing to do for Boy George. He revealed to PEOPLE that the song is “massively powerful and iconic in connection to who I am and what I’ve created.”

In terms of revisiting the track in 2026 with an AI assist, he recently said to The Hollywood Reporter, “This gives me an opportunity, not just me, but other artists, to have a different relationship with those songs,” and “It has the sound of me at 22 years old with all the experience of everything that I’ve learned.”

While his bandmates weren’t exactly keen on the tune at first, luckily, they eventually agreed with George. ‘Karma Chameleon’ hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in February of 1984 and stayed there for three weeks. So yes, he was right!

Nancy Guthrie Update: Harvey Levin Says Emailer Fears Kidnappers Know Who He Is and Refuses to Provide Proof

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:47pm

There's been more communication between an anonymous emailer and TMZ regarding the Nancy Guthrie case.

On Friday, June 26, TMZ’s Harvey Levin appeared on Fox News, where he discussed the latest email the outlet received from someone claiming to have information about Guthrie’s disappearance.

Levin told Will Cain that the outlet had received another message from the same individual who previously claimed to have video footage of alleged kidnappers and Guthrie.

Earlier in the day, TMZ reported that the email sender requested one bitcoin in exchange for the location of a hidden mobile phone and its passcode, claiming it contains footage that would allegedly identify the names and addresses of two individuals they say are responsible for Guthrie’s disappearance.

According to Levin, he responded to Friday's initial email by requesting a screengrab of Guthrie as proof that the sender actually possesses the footage they claim to have. The emailer replied that they are unable to provide any such material because they fear the alleged kidnappers may already know who they are.

Levin added that it is unclear whether law enforcement intends to pursue or respond to the request, noting that authorities may believe the emailer could be attempting a scam.

These new updates come after reports surfaced about different ransom notes that were sent to news stations just after Guthrie vanished on Feb. 1. One of those notes demanded bitcoin in exchange for Guthrie and a second note reportedly stated that Guthrie had died. Per NBC News, whoever sent the second ransom note did not ask for any money.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Tucson’s 88-Crime hotline at 1-520-882-7463 or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

‘Perfect’ Friends-To-Lovers Romance Named One of Goodreads’ ‘Most Read Books’ of 2026 So Far

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:45pm

It shouldn’t be too surprising to find out that Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune has become a major hit among the romance fans.

Goodreads has released its most popular reads of the year, and Our Perfect Storm is on the list. It sits in No. 6 on the “Most Popular Books of 2026 So Far,” marking it as the second most-popular romance book, behind The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez.

Our Perfect Storm is Fortune’s fifth novel, and it was released on May 5, 2026. It came just before the release of Every Year After on Prime Video, a series based on arguably her biggest hit, Every Summer After.

The novel follows Frankie, who is suddenly thrown into a world she didn’t expect. Her fiance leaves her on their wedding day, but he encourages her to go on the honeymoon that they planned. Of course, that’s the last thing Frankie wants to do, until her best friend, George, encourages her to go with her.

The two friends have been through some ups and downs in recent years, and this trip turns into their last chance to repair the damage done in the past. Secrets and long buried feelings need to be exposed and handled, but are they both willing to do that?

View this post on Instagram

Publishers Weekly (via Penguin Random House) called it “A tender tale about childhood friendship blooming into more…readers will be charmed.”

It immediately became a #1 best-seller on the New York Times list. Fans quickly praised it for its beautiful description of Tofino in a way that just makes you want to book a trip to the coastal escape. No, this isn’t groundbreaking romance. There are many predictable elements, but it’s a story that is going to make you cry — just not about the characters you expect!

One reader on Goodreads shared: “THIS is how you write childhood friends to lovers.”

Another, who gave it five-stars, said: “Our Perfect Storm is about a delicate love that grows between two childhood friends in a slow yet passionate and emotionally engaging way.”

The question now is when this novel will be developed into a movie or a TV show.

Beloved ’90s Rocker Cancels Final 2026 Tour Dates

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:27pm

Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine had some unfortunate news for his fans.

The American singer and guitarist announced on Instagram that due to his mother returning to the hospital, Morello has decided to head home and look after her. His mother, Mary, is 102 years old and is also an activist like her son.

"My dear mom, Mary Morello, is back in the hospital and I’m headed home to help look after her," the musician said in a statement. "Rocking the UK & Europe with you all this summer has been incredible, and I cant wait to be back with you and continue this movement that we started."

View this post on Instagram

Morello was scheduled to perform at multiple European music festivals this upcoming weekend, including Oslo's Tons of Rock Festival in Norway and the BBK Music Legends Festival in Spain. He was also supposed to have solo shows in Paris and London next Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Refunds for these concerts will now be issued at the point of purchase.

The sudden cancellation comes two days after Morello announced on Instagram that he had locked in new dates for these shows, which were originally postponed because he had to step away from the road due to a family emergency involving Mary Morello.

Despite the sad news, fans sent Morello and his mom tons of love on social media. According to many comments, Mary Morello was a high school history teacher and seemed to make an impact on many of her students.

"Family first. Mary Morello is a national treasure. Give her a hug and a kiss from all your fans," a fan commented.

"Mary was my father’s favorite teacher at Libertyville HS. I play him Rage while he tells me stories about her and how much she talked about you," another user commented. "We wish her a speedy recovery."

"❤️ your mom taught my mom history," another fan explained. "She said she was a great teacher and influence. Sending you all our love, peace and gratitude for the guidance and inspiration that has been passed down."

Fellow rock band Slash also joined the conversation, writing, "You're the fn best. 🤘🏼."

"Oh no. Mary Morello is one of my favorite people in the world," rapper Boots Riley also wrote.

"Mary, we are all thinking of you! You are the mama so many of us wish we had," a fan commented.

Born in New York City and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Morello became interested in politics and music in high school. He attended Harvard University and graduated with a degree in social studies. His mom was also an activist and a founder of the anti-censorship group Parents for Rock and Rap in 1987. Before that, Mary was involved in the Civil Rights Movement and the NAACP, and was a social studies and U.S. history teacher at Libertyville High School.

The 62-year-old musician has publicly praised his mother and her activism efforts multiple times, writing that she was "still the most radical and most popular member of the Morello family" on her 96th birthday in 2019.

Morello is best known for his tenures with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, as well as being a member of the supergroup Prophets of Rage and touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He is also loud and proud about his socialist political views, and began his solo project, The Nightwatchman, for those ideas in 2003.

Iconic '70s Rock Band Getting the Ultimate Tribute 61 Years After Forming

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:22pm

Sixty-one years after the Grateful Dead first came together in California and forever changed American music, a major new exhibition will celebrate not only the band's songs but also the artwork, technology and fan culture that made it one of rock's most enduring phenomena.

Opening July 3 at the Haight Street Art Center in San Francisco, Forever Grateful brings together more than 400 pieces of artwork, instruments, photographs, posters, vinyl records and memorabilia chronicling the band's remarkable journey from 1965 through 1995. The exhibition also marks the art center's 10th anniversary.

One of the exhibition's biggest attractions is a fully operational one-quarter-scale recreation of the Grateful Dead's legendary Wall of Sound. Designed to play live recordings from throughout the band's career, the installation recreates one of the most ambitious concert sound systems ever built and gives visitors a chance to experience the audio innovation that became central to the band's live performances.

The exhibition arrives just months after the Grateful Dead opened another chapter of its legacy with the launch of Play Dead, an official streaming platform that unlocks decades of restored live recordings from the band's legendary vault. Together, the digital archive and Forever Grateful offer fans new ways to experience the music, artwork and culture that have kept the Grateful Dead's influence alive more than six decades after the band formed.

Visitors will also see the original illustration that inspired the band's iconic Skull and Roses album artwork.

Beyond the music and artwork, Forever Grateful celebrates the passionate Deadhead community that helped transform the Grateful Dead into one of America's most beloved live acts. Displays highlight everything from the band's earliest fan club to the decorated mail-order ticket envelopes that became part of Deadhead culture.

"Forever Grateful celebrates the spirit, artistry, and cultural influence that made the Grateful Dead not just a band, but a phenomenon," exhibition advisor and Grateful Dead historian Dennis McNally said in a statement.

The celebration will continue later this year with a second Forever Grateful exhibition opening Sept. 5 at Golden Gate Park's Hall of Flowers, featuring immersive performances and additional artifacts connected to the band's extraordinary legacy.

Cookie Dough Sold at Target Recalled Due to Allergen Risk

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:17pm

If you’ve purchased ready-to-bake cookie dough at Target recently, you’ll need to check your refrigerator, as a voluntary recall has been issued due to an allergen risk.

According to a recall notice published by the Food and Drug Administration, one lot of Bakr Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Ready To Bake Cookie Dough pouches has been voluntarily recalled by Bear Stewart LLC of Chicago, Illinois. The FDA alert indicates that the product may contain undeclared soy, which could cause a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed by people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy.

The Bakr Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Ready To Bake Cookie Dough, which was sold in the freezer section of Target, comes in an 8-ounce blue package. Affected products have lot number 2606022, which can be found on the bottom left corner of the back of the pouch. The affected pouches were distributed to Target stores starting on June 11, 2026, in Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.

As of publication, no illnesses associated with the affected product have been reported. According to the FDA notice, “the recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing soy was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of soy.” It continued, explaining that a temporary issue in packaging processes caused S’mores cookies to be packed into Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk pouches.

Customers who purchased the affected product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Furthermore, consumers with questions regarding the recall are asked to call Bear Stewart at 1-800-697-BEAR.

'90s Icon Behind One of the Most Beloved Love Songs Ever Turns 70

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:15pm

He was the brooding ’90s voice behind one of the most haunting love songs of a generation, but today Chris Isaak is celebrating a milestone that has fans doing a double take. The singer behind "Wicked Game," a track that defined an entire era of moody romance, not to mention one of the steamiest music videos in MTV history, is turning 70—an age that feels almost unthinkable for the artist so many still pictures in his early, blue-lit prime.

It’s 2026 and this song still hits ❣️ #chrisisaak #wickedgames #athens #greece #fyp @Chris Isaak

Best known for his 1989 hit "Wicked Game," Chris Isaak dominated the late ’80s and ’90s with his smoldering love songs and rockabilly style. Known for his quirky sense of humor and Elvis-like image, it’s hard to imagine Chris Isaak as anything other than the smirking pompadour-wearing youthful rocker whose best friend was his electric guitar.

Why “Wicked Game” Still Defines Chris Isaak’s Legacy

"Wicked Game" was featured on Isaak’s third album Heart Shaped World. The song became a sleeper hit that dominated airwaves, thanks in part to the Herb Ritts-directed music video that featured supermodel Helena Christensen rolling on the beach.

For Gen Xers who first saw Chris Isaak in the ’80s and ’90s (raises hand), his 70th birthday feels like a personal milestone as well. Isaak’s timeless hits still resonate, and his boyish look is still intact, but if he’s getting older, so are we. Listening to a Chris Isaak song can bring one right back to the excitement of seeing a favorite star at the MTV Awards or the anticipation of a new music video.

Now social media makes rock stars more accessible, but in the MTV era, audiences relied on videos to visually connect with their favorite artists. Few used the medium quite like Chris Isaak, an artist who tapped into the glamorous supermodel era of the ’80s and ’90s while displaying expert musicianship then and now.

Nearly four decades later, Chris Isaak is still on the road, still performing the songs that made him a defining voice of late-night MTV and ’90s romance. But for fans who first discovered him during his blue-lit “Wicked Game” era, his 70th birthday lands with a real sense of disbelief. The music hasn’t changed, and neither has the feeling it brings back—but time has clearly moved on, even if Isaak still feels frozen in that unmistakable moment.

2025 Sydney Sweeney Thriller Knocks Brad Pitt Oscar Nominee off the Charts

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:12pm

A lesser-known thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore, which premiered last year, shot to the top of the Apple TV+ charts. It even dethroned Brad Pitt's Oscar-nominated blockbuster, F1.

Echo Valley has become the #1 movie on Apple TV as of June 24, per Flix Patrol. Beating the likes of Outcome, The Gorge, Fountain of Youth, The Family Plan, Greyhound, The Family Plan 2, Eternity, and Emancipation

Sydney Sweeney even acknowledged the film's achievement on her Instagram Stories. It is one of her most underrated projects, never picking up the same attention as The Housemaid, Euphoria or Christy.

Echo Valley was directed by Michael Pierce and written by Mare of Eastown's Brad Ingelsby. It co-starred alongside Sweeney and Moore, Domhall Gleeson, Fiona Shaw and Kyle MacLachlan.

The film centers on Kate Moore, a grieving widow and horse trainer living on an isolated Pennsylvania farm. Her life spirals when her troubled, drug-addicted daughter, played by Sweeney, arrives unannounced. The thriller explores how far a mother's love will go as her daughter becomes involved in a conspiracy bigger than them both. Moore describes the movie to Variety as: “It’s a domestic drama wrapped in a thriller, which is very unusual.”

Sweeney went to great lengths for the role, studying people struggling with substance issues. “I watched a lot of videos. There’s a YouTube series of this guy that interviews people on Skid Row that have struggled with addiction and are [still] currently. I watched a lot of them and drew from different stories that they would tell or mannerisms that they have,” she told Variety.

The film received a mixed critical reception and only a 55% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie had a limited release in cinemas before landing on Apple TV+ a week later. It seems to have gained a new life as Sweeney's popularity rises.

A Major Regional Theme Park Is Permanently Closing This Summer—And Coaster Fans Are Devastated

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:09pm

For generations of families living south of Atlanta, the local amusement park in Fayetteville, Georgia, was a staple of childhood. Long before it featured massive neon signs, it was the family-owned Dixieland Fun Park, a nostalgic spot of the 1990s packed with go-karts, arcade games and affordable weekend wristbands.

Even after Orlando-based Fun Spot America acquired the property in 2017 and gave it a massive, modern face-lift, it remained a beloved regional staple where you could easily skip the colossal lines of major corporate theme parks. But in a sudden move that has caught both locals and the national roller coaster community completely off guard, an era is officially coming to an end.

Fun Spot America just announced that its Atlanta-area location will permanently close its gates for good, locking in its final day of operation for August 2, 2026.

While the park has welcomed millions of guests over its lifetime, operators dropped the news without citing a specific reason for the sudden shuttering, though industry insiders point to recent financial performance struggles and the uphill battle of marketing a year-round park in the regional Georgia market.

"This was an extremely difficult decision," says John Arie Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Fun Spot America, adding that the company is incredibly proud of the decades of memories built in Fayetteville. "Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together."

The heartbreaking news triggered a wave of intense emotions from the community, with many expressing a profound sense of personal loss. One heartbroken visitor shared, "I consider the park to be a home and the people there family."

Above all, there was a deep feeling of bittersweet gratitude for the park's history and the people who made it special, with a former employee writing, "That hurts me. Remember working there 5 years ago for 3 years there. Great memories with amazing staff and co-workers."

A World-Class Thrill Ride in Limbo

While casual local visitors are mourning the loss of a go-to family weekend spot, the news has sent massive shockwaves through the national coaster enthusiast community for one very specific reason: the fate of ArieForce One.

In 2023, Fun Spot made a jaw-dropping, $13 million gamble on the park's future by partnering with legendary ride manufacturer Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) to build a colossal steel-and-wood hybrid roller coaster.

Featuring a terrifying 154-foot lift hill, an 83-degree first drop, a top speed of 64 mph, and four mind-bending inversions, ArieForce One instantly became an elite, critically acclaimed masterpiece, drawing coaster purists from all over the country to Fayetteville just to experience its intense airtime.

Because the official closure announcement completely omitted any mention of what will happen to the rides, fans are frantically speculating whether this multi-million-dollar crown jewel will be carefully disassembled and relocated to one of Fun Spot’s Florida properties, auctioned off to a rival amusement park, or devastatingly demolished altogether. One enthusiast begged, "Please please please sell ArieForce to someone, it is one of the best amusement attractions and it has to live on!!"

What Georgia Passholders Need to Know

If your family is holding tickets or looking to squeeze in one last nostalgic ride, operations are continuing completely as normal between now and the end of the summer run. The park will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily right up until the final gates lock on August 2nd.

For anyone holding current Fun Spot Atlanta season passes or unredeemed gift cards, those credits will stay fully active and valid in Georgia through the final closing day. After August 2nd, the family-owned company has confirmed it will continue to fully honor those passes and gift cards down south at its flagship Florida locations in Orlando and Kissimmee.

Those Central Florida sister parks—which feature famous icons like White Lightning, Orlando’s sole wooden coaster, and Kissimmee’s massive 300-foot SkyCoaster—will remain open and unaffected by the Georgia closure.

It’s a bittersweet wrap on a 36-year amusement park legacy, so if you’ve been meaning to check out Georgia's most intense hidden thrill ride before it vanishes from the landscape, consider this your official final call to grab a seat in the front row.

Amazon’s 'Sturdy' $30 Vinyl Record Storage Crate Keeps Your Collection 'Accessible and Beautifully Displayed'

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 4:01pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Most storage solutions are designed to disappear. Bins slide under beds, cabinets hide clutter behind closed doors, and smaller organizational containers dot shelves. But for vinyl collectors, records aren't something to tuck away — they're part of their home's decor. Album artwork deserves to be flipped through, admired, and displayed just as much as it's meant to be played.

Instead of hiding your collection, the Vfelf Vinyl Record Storage Crate puts your favorite albums front and center while keeping them organized and protected. Normally $35, it's currently marked down 15% to just $30 during Amazon’s Prime Day, making it a “display-worthy” upgrade for collectors looking to give their records a proper home.

Measuring 14.4 inches long, 12.1 inches wide, and 11.8 inches tall, this record crate is compact enough to fit beside a turntable setup. It holds an impressive 60 vinyl records, whether your collection includes 7-, 10-, or 12-inch albums. Inside, a built-in divider helps keep records upright and neatly separated, making it easy to organize everything by artist, genre, or mood while preventing sleeves from leaning or becoming cluttered.

Available in black, oak, and brown stains, the crate is crafted from durable wood, complemented by see-through metal mesh side panels that give it an industrial-inspired look while allowing colorful album artwork to remain visible from every angle. An open-front silhouette makes flipping through albums feel just like browsing the bins at a neighborhood record shop. Built-in side handles make it easy to move from room to room, while adhesive pads underneath help prevent sliding and protect floors or tabletops from scratches.

And if your vinyl collection eventually outgrows it (or you simply want another use for it), the removable divider transforms the crate into versatile storage for magazines, books, office files, coffee bar essentials, toys, snacks, and more. In the living room, it can corral throw blankets, coffee table books, or board games. In a home office, it's ideal for organizing files and notebooks, while in a playroom, it could neatly store toys, puzzles, or art supplies. It even works in the kitchen as a coffee station organizer or chip bag catchall, and in an entryway for shoes, bags, or seasonal accessories.

Vinyl enthusiasts raved about this “sturdy” and “well-made” crate in the reviews section, saying that it keeps collections “accessible and beautifully displayed.”

Reviewers also highlighted how “easy to assemble” the crate is, with many stating that it took them “less than five minutes” to put it together.

What's Next for Reece Weaver After Retiring From the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 3:57pm

For three seasons, Reece Weaver became a fan-favorite on Netflix’s America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Now, after officially retiring from the squad, she's already dreaming about what comes next.

Speaking with E! News in an article shared Friday, June 26, Weaver revealed that while she's still figuring out her next chapter, one lifelong dream continues to top her list.

"That's always been my dream," she said of performing on Broadway. "I went to a performing arts middle school and high school, so I was the bun head. I was being classically trained in all sorts of genres, all styles, and just fell in love with wanting to perform on a stage."

Although dance eventually led her to the University of Alabama and, ultimately, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Weaver said she's ready to return to where it all began. "I want to go back to my roots and my upbringing in dance," she explained, adding, "I think that involves taking the next step of wanting to be on Broadway. We'll see!"

She admitted Chicago would be at the top of her wish list, though she'd happily take any role.

What else is Reece Weaver up to?

Broadway isn't the only opportunity Weaver has her eye on. She also admitted to E! she'd jump at the chance to compete on Dancing With the Stars, calling it "probably my favorite show" and saying she grew up watching it with her mom.

Weaver also revealed she's currently writing a book centered on mentorship and encouraging young women to pursue their dreams. "I just want to encourage people to be bold enough to take that leap," she said. "It's scary because I'm currently in that right now, but there's so much more outside for everyone."

Why did Reece Weaver leave the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

Weaver's decision to retire at the end of season 3 surprised many fans of America's Sweethearts. After suffering a sprained ankle, which resulted in her having to sit out the rest of the season, Weaver decided that her time with the squad was up, explaining to DCC Director Kelli Finglass and Head Choreographer Judy Trammell that she felt fulfilled.

Speaking with Netflix's Tudum, Weaver revealed she'd been considering the decision for quite some time. "I’d actually been wrestling with this decision since the start of my third year. My cup was just filled to the absolute brim,” she said.

She then told People that she wouldn’t necessarily turn down another show or filming opportunity in the future, but wanted her fans to know that she’s more than just a cheerleader. “I hope that people know that I'm way more than just a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and that my identity is not found in my career or even my dreams," she said.

After 20 Years of Mayhem, 'Jackass' Finally Says Goodbye

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 3:55pm

It’s so painful, you gotta laugh. The new Jackass movie—the fifth film to spin off the gonzo prank series that started two decades ago on MTV, later becoming a pop-culture franchise—is a final-bow salvo of slaps, slams and other shocks that fans of the show have come to expect.

It is—supposedly—the parting shot from creator Johnny Knoxville and his cast of Jackass collaborators, mixing new material with stunts that never aired in previous movies or on TV. And ending with a giant grocery cart, filled with the cast, rolling slo-mo through explosions, pelted by debris, and ultimately plunging over a cliff to the tune of Frank Sinatra singing “My Way.”

It’s a ballsy move to open the same weekend as Toy Story 5, but Jackass has always been ballsy—in more ways than one. Like the bit when Knoxville, in a clip from his 2013 movie Bad Grandpa, airs out his alarmingly distended "old man" parts in a male strip club. And speaking of toys, there’s a bit from 2011 with a little toy car that becomes, ahem, lodged in the colon of Ryan Dunn, one of the show’s original collaborators.

Jackass has always courted discomfort, built on a foundation of dangerous, pointless and sometimes unhinged—and frequently scatological—setups meant to surprise, shock and awe. Like strapping Steve-O into an overly “full” porta potty and sloshing it up and down on bungee cords suspended between two massive cranes, or a group of Jackasses bottoms-upping mega-doses of laxative, then playing a game of Twister. In another moment, we watch Sean “Poopies” McInerney trying to walk on a balance beam with a shock collar attached to his, well—it's inside his underwear.

Oh, and there’s a four-foot-tall robot, giving a rectal exam.

The barrage of self-inflicted abuses includes an early staged clip that caused MTV to temporarily cancel the show, as Knoxville, dressed in escaped-convict orange, goes into a hardware store and begs for help to saw through his handcuffs. It ends up with a confrontation by Los Angeles police.

There’s something perversely entertaining in watching other people willing to abuse themselves strictly for entertainment—especially when they look like they’re having such a great time doing it. Part of the appeal is being “in on the joke,” unlike a lot of the onlookers while they’re filming—like the customers at a L.A. food stand who watch as “guest star” Brad Pitt is whisked into a black van, apparently kidnapped. Cut to the inside of the vehicle, with Pitt and the Jackass crew laughing hysterically at the disruption they’ve just caused.

Knoxville and his cohorts (including co-creator, and longtime director Jeff Tremaine) know that their creative anarchy fills a certain niche and a need, lodged deep in our primate brains. Like Maximus (Russell Crowe) taunting the cheering arena crowd in another movie, Gladiator: “Are you not entertained?

Related: Steve-O says Jackass is Really Over

Jackass: Best & Last opens with Knoxville, in a 1998 bit that never aired, shooting himself in the chest point-blank with a handgun and padded only with a T-shirt and a Kevlar vest. A warning comes onscreen: “Do not attempt this. It’s extra stupid and could kill you.”

Knoxville survived that early brush with danger, and death, and stunts of jaw-dropping stupidity became the show’s calling card. And Jackass became a kind of institution, a daring dose of unruly chaos to spice up the pedestrian mundanity of modern life, a vicarious way to live outside the prim and proper, watching others do what we’d never dare.

“The worse an experience is,” says Steve-O watching Knoxville get flipped into the air and knocked unconscious by a bull, “the better it looks onscreen.”

Laughter may be good for the soul, but Jackass: Best & Last gives us a final reminder that it can be hell on a body. Especially when toy cars, bulls and porta potties are involved.

FINAL THOUGHTS: A dose of unruly stupidity to spice up everyday life

Rating: R

Best-Selling Author’s New Thriller Ranks No. 3 Among Goodreads’ Most-Read Books of 2026

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 3:54pm

One of the most popular books of the year so far is a psychological thriller that readers are simply loving. The book, My Husband's Wife by Alice Feeney, is a huge hit, taking the third spot on Goodreads' list of the most-read 2026 releases.

The novel tells the story of an artist named Eden Fox as she adjusts to a new life in a small village living with her husband in a charming old house called Spyglass. One morning, she leaves the house to go on a run, and when she returns home, she's shocked to discover that her key no longer unlocks the front door.

To make the situation even stranger, a woman who looks quite a bit like her appears inside, claiming to be her husband's wife, and he says the same thing. The predicament throws Fox's entire existence and sense of self into question, right before her landmark first art exhibition is set to start.

As you might expect, this premise quickly hooks readers in, and the book has earned rave reviews from critics and regular audiences. One reviewer gave the novel four stars, writing, "The suspense was incredible and the chapters moved so fast."

Another praised the unexpected story, saying, "Just when I thought I had it sussed out, another plot twist would leave me with my mouth hanging open… Because I read a LOT of thrillers, this does not happen often."

The book currently has a 4.01 out of 5 rating on Goodreads, which is extra impressive considering there are over 348,000 ratings. My Husband's Wife is now both a New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller.

I cried when I got the news (the happiest of tears). I’m crying again writing this post, and my dark heart is filled to overflowing with love and gratitude."

A few other books by Feeney are His & Hers, Sometimes I Lie, and Daisy Darker.
