The Osbournes Become Emotional Watching Post Malone Sing This Iconic Ozzy Song at Grammys

Mon, 02/02/2026 - 12:26am

Fans knew an Ozzy Osbourne tribute was coming as they tuned in to the 2026 Grammy Awards. And boy, did it deliver.

The Recording Academy had previously announced that Post Malone and other big names would honor the late icon in a special way during the Sunday, Feb. 1 ceremony. It wasn't confirmed, however, what exactly would be in store when the annual "In Memoriam" part of the Grammys would come around.

But once the curtain opened to show Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash holding his axe — and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith seated with sticks in hand... viewers and audience members certainly knew they were in for a treat as an instantly recognizable Black Sabbath song began.

And then, the one and only Malone, 30, stepped up to the mic to croon the lyrics to "War Pigs" in an epic way that paid homage to the heavy metal band's frontman, who died last July 22 at age 75.

During the show-stopping performance, which also featured Andrew Watt and Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan, Ozzy's widow Sharon Osbourne and her kids Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne were seen watching from the audience in tears.

Each of the musicians who jammed during the Ozzy tribute had previously collaborated with the late rocker at some point, Variety reports. Malone recorded duets with the Black Sabbath frontman on the songs “Take What You Want” and “It’s a Raid,” while Watt, 35, executive produced Osbourne’s final two albums: 2020’s “Ordinary Man” and 2022’s “Patient Number 9.” Slash, 60, featured Ozzy on the 2010 track “Crucify the Dead,” while McKagan, 61, and Smith, 64, contributed to his last records.

On Saturday, Sharon, 73, was surrounded by her children in a touching family moment as they attended Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles. On the red carpet, the family posed for photos wearing head-to-toe black in a touching gesture to honor the late rock god.

Krispy Kreme Drops 4 New Doughnuts: ‘Sprinkled With Love'

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 11:02pm

Krispy Kreme agrees that the best way to someone's heart is through their stomach, so it's launching a special Valentine's Day menu that it says is "sweeter than a love letter."

While some people want a dozen roses and a teddy bear, others would prefer a dozen doughnuts, and now, thanks to Krispy Kreme there's an adorably creative way to satisfy the want for both this holiday season.

Inspired by classic Valentine's Day gifts like teddies and chocolates, Krispy Kreme's Valentine's Day doughnuts make traditional presents even sweeter, according to an official statement from the company's chief brand and product officer, Alison Holder.

"There are so many ways to show love on Valentine’s Day, not to just one person, but to everyone who makes your life a little brighter. This year we took inspiration from classic Valentine’s gifts to create a doughnut collection perfectly made for sharing," Holder explained, noting, "We’re a bit partial, of course, but we feel these doughnuts might be the sweetest way to express love this Valentine’s. And … you’ll love these doughnuts!"

Krispy Kreme Unboxes Its Special Menu for Valentine's Day

Krispy Kreme's 2026 Valentine's Day doughnuts include four all-new varieties with Cupid-approved names, per the official press release.

For a limited time, customers can snag an "I Love You A Choco-Lot Doughnut," the "Teddy Bear Cookies & Kreme Doughnut," the "You're Berry Sweet Doughnut," and the "Sprinkled with Love Doughnut."

‘90s Rock Band Scores First Grammy in 30 Years

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 10:25pm

Nine Inch Nails is finally back to its Grammy glory after being nominated for this year’s ceremony.

On Sunday, celebrities and artists gathered at a star-studded 68th annual awards show at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth time in a row, the event celebrates the industry’s top talent and outstanding contributions to music.

Among those who received the coveted recognition was Nine Inch Nails, winning Best Rock Song for its single “As Alive As You Need Me to Be,” beating out Sleep Token’s “Caramel,” Hayley Williams’ “Glum,” Turnstile’s “Never Enough” and Yungblud’s “Zombie.”

Unfortunately, the band was unable to attend the ceremony to accept the award.

The recognition was Nine Inch Nails’ first Grammy win in 30 years. Their first was in 1993 when they won Best Metal Performance for the song "Wish.”

Nine Inch Nails at Mad Cool 2025 at the Iberdrola Music venue on July 11, 2025 in Madrid, Spain.

It was followed by a Best Metal Performance award in 1995 for the live version of "Happiness in Slavery" recorded at Woodstock ‘94.

Written by vocalist and guitarist Trent Reznor and band member Atticus Ross, “As Alive As You Need Me to Be” appeared on the original motion picture soundtrack for TRON: Ares. Moreover, the song was also the band’s first single in five years.

Fans Celebrate Nine Inch Nails as Three-Time Grammy Winner

Following the band’s remarkable milestone, fans celebrated the victory across social media.

Walt Disney Studios, the production behind TRON: Ares, basked in the excitement on X.

“Congratulations to Nine Inch Nails on their Grammy Awards win for Best Rock Song for "As Alive As You Need Me to Be' for Tron: Ares!” the caption reads.

“god it’s just so hard .. winning just all the time F—k YES DUDEEE AAYNMTB WINNING A GRAMMY F—k YEEES,” a fan account posted.

On the other hand, a social media user joked about the band skipping the ceremony.

“They weren't even at the awards, which is the most rockstar thing ever, so cool. Trent and Atticus were like sorry too busy cooking bangers up to attend,” a commenter playfully said.

Meanwhile, a fan also highlighted another music legend, noting the iconic status of both bands, saying, “The Cure and Nine Inch Nails winning Grammys today? Show off Gen X!”

Besides their collaboration in TRON: Ares, Nine Inch Nails members also created an original score for the Apple TV+ movie The Gorge, starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy and directed by Scott Derrickson.

Music Legends Reba, Post Malone and Lauryn Hill Lead Heartfelt In Memoriam Performance at 2026 Grammys

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 10:24pm

The "In Memoriam" segment at this year's Grammy Awards was nothing short of a tear-jerker.

During the 68th Grammy Awards presentation on Sunday, Feb. 1, a number of music mega-stars took the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to pay tribute to the those the industry has lost over the past year, including Ozzy Osbourne, Roberta Flack, Brian Wilson and many, many more.

The tribute started with a special moment narrated by Bruce Springsteen to honor Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson, followed by a spoken tribute from John Mayer to honor late Grateful Dead co-founding member Bob Weir.

The performance portion then began as Reba McEntire took the stage to perform her song "Trailblazer," alongside fellow country stars Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson. Throughout the emotional song, names and photos of various late music artists who died over the past year appeared on the screen behind them.

Next, Post Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and Andrew Watt teamed up to honor Osbourne with a performance of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs," while more late rock stars like Ace Frehley of KISS and Clem Burkeof Blondie were memorialized on the screens behind them.

Finally,Lauryn Hill and took the stage with a number of guests—including John Legend, Leon Thomas, Jon Batiste and so many more—who performed a mashup of songs to honor beloved neo-soul artist D'Angelo and genre-bending icon Roberta Flack. To close out the performance, Hill was joined on stage by Wyclef Jean for a rendition of "Killing Me Softly With His Song," a 1973 hit for Flack, to pay homage to the late songstress.

— Spencer Althouse (@SpencerAlthouse) February 2, 2026

The segment ended with a tribute to Sly Stone, narrated by Chaka Khan.

Many fans online seemed to be pleased with the evening's In Memoriam segment, particularly the tribute to Osbourne, which one fan on X (formerly Twitter) said was "the best performance of the night."

Another user agreed that the "War Pigs" performance was "cool as hell."

Other viewers, however, were disappointed by the production of the In Memoriam performances, with many arguing that the cameras were too focused on the performers rather than the names of late honorees on the screens behind them.

"They’ve missed multiple people on the broadcast, instead doing close ups of the performers (who have all been great) instead. Incredibly disappointing and disrespectful to those people and their families," one critic wrote.

"Live performances for the in memoriam section is cool but the camera focusing on the performance vs showing the folks they’re supposed to be celebrating is such bad production," someone else echoed.

Another user wrote, "WAY too many names were cut off because they decided to zoom in on the performers."

But despite the criticism, a number of fans online were still moved by the performance, with one X user calling it "one of the best in memoriam tributes done in a while."

"Everyone did a phenomenal job on the In Memoriam from beginning to end," another fan applauded.

Here's a list of just some of the names honored at this year's Grammy Awardsceremony:

  1. Ozzy Osbourne

Just as many did for the Golden Globes on Jan. 11, several celebrities donned a small white pin that read "ICE Out" in black lettering. Those who participated in the political stance against ICE's intensifying presence in U.S. cities—and in the wake of the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of federal agents— included the following.

Billie Eilish Walks Away From the Grammys With a First-Ever Achievement

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 10:06pm

Billie Eilish made Grammy Awards history Sunday night at the 68th annual ceremony.

Eilish won Song of the Year for “Wildflower,” an honor confirmed during the live broadcast and reflected in the Recording Academy’s official winners list. Song of the Year is one of the Grammys’ most prestigious General Field awards and recognizes the songwriters behind a track rather than its performer or production team.

With the win, Eilish now holds three Song of the Year victories, following earlier wins for “Bad Guy” and “What Was I Made For?” No songwriter had won the category more than twice prior to this year, making Eilish’s achievement a first-ever milestone in the award’s history.

Why Song of the Year Is a Career-Defining Award

Song of the Year is widely regarded as one of the Grammys’ most meaningful honors because it centers on composition and lyricism. Unlike Record of the Year, which factors in performance and production, this category highlights the craft of songwriting itself.

Repeated wins are rare. Achieving three places Eilish in singular territory, underscoring the Recording Academy’s sustained recognition of her writing across different eras of her career.

Related: What Did Billie Eilish Say During Her 2026 Grammy Awards Speech?

The Role of Finneas in a Historic Run

Eilish’s milestone is closely tied to her longtime collaborator and brother, Finneas O’Connell, who is credited as a co-writer on “Wildflower.”

Finneas has co-written and produced much of Eilish’s catalog and is a Grammy-recognized artist in his own right, including a 2020 win for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. His minimalist, detail-driven approach has become a defining element of Eilish’s sound and a consistent through-line in her Grammysuccess.

Together, the siblings have built one of contemporary music’s most recognizable creative partnerships; one rooted in restraint, emotional clarity, and precision.

A Rare Threshold Crossed

Multiple Song of the Year wins are uncommon. Surpassing the previously documented ceiling in the category places Eilish in rare company, particularly at this stage of her career.

On Sunday night, Billie Eilish didn’t just add another Grammy to her resume. She crossed a threshold no songwriter before her had reached, further cementing her place in Grammy history.

The country star performed a special version of “Trailblazer,” her song with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson, alongside Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson during the ceremony’s “In Memoriam” segment. Blackstock, who died in August, was among the music industry professionals honored during the tribute.

Lauryn Hill then took over, singing her 1998 hit “Nothing Even Matter” and the Fugees' "Killing Me Softly" in honor of D'Angelo and Roberta Flack.

On the red carpet earlier in the evening, McEntire told E! News the performance was "really special" to her because her stepson was the one being honored.

“He passed away in August, and so Brandon is going to be up on the stage with [us] … so it’s going to be very special," she said.

The country star, who has won three awards from 18 nominations throughout her career, noted that this performance “is going to be [her] favorite memory" from the awards show.

Blackstock died at the age of 48 from melanoma on Aug. 7, 2025.

Music Icon, 38, Breaks All-Time Grammys Record With Historic Wins

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 10:01pm

Kendrick Lamar just made history at the 2026 Grammys.

On Music's Biggest Night, held Sunday, Feb. 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif., the music icon—suited and booted in a Chanel tuxedo—took home four wins (so far): Best Rap Album for GNX, Best Rap Song for "TV Off," Best Melodic Rap Performance for "Luther," and Best Rap Performance for "Chains & Whips" on Clipse's fourth studio album, Let God Sort Em Out.

“It is hip-hop as usual, man. I’m not good at talking about myself, but I express it through the music. It’s an honor to be here,” Lamar noted while taking the stage. “Hip-hop is going to always be right here. We are going to be in these suits looking good, having our folks with us. We are going to be having the culture with us.”

An Afro pick was meticulously positioned in his hair for added effect—on the first day of Black History Month, no less.

Lamar led nominations at this year's ceremony with nine nods, and his wins solidified his position as the most-awarded rap artist of all time. The "Not Like Us" rapper dethroned Jay-Z, who previously held the record with 25 total Grammys.

When it comes to making history, it's not the Compton native's first time at the rodeo. In 2025, he became the first rapper to headline the Super Bowlhalftime show as a solo act, where he went viral for performing his hit Drake diss track after much speculation and fan anticipation. The song also swept the Grammys last year, earning Lamar five awards, including in the coveted Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories.

All the Major Artists That Skipped the 2026 Grammy Awards

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 10:00pm

The Grammys is perhaps one of the biggest nights in the entertainment business. From career-defining wins, jaw-dropping outfits, to surprise performances, the night is designed to bring the music world together under one roof. But just as much attention is paid to who isn’t there—and the 2026 Grammy Awards were no exception.

While the 68th annual Grammy Awards ceremony honored legendary artists and featured crowd-pleasing performances, including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Justin Bieber at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, a surprising number of major stars were missing from the audience. Some absences came down to eligibility rules or scheduling conflicts, while others appeared to be intentional sit-outs amid a quieter awards season. Either way, fans couldn’t help but notice which A-listers chose to skip music’s biggest night.

Ariana Grande

Despite winning Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Defying Gravity” with Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande didn’t attend, which many speculate is likely due to her packed acting schedule.

Beyoncé

After finally winning Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter last year, Beyoncé didn’t fall within this year’s eligibility window and seemingly opted not to attend.

George Strait

The country icon was also a no-show. George Strait had been nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for his duet with Chris Stapleton, but opted to skip the awards, per Page Six.

Gracie Abrams

Gracie Abrams missed out on major categories for her viral song “That’s So True” this year and seemingly skipped the show.

Lisa (Blackpink)

Ahead of the show, Lisa confirmed to E! News at the Golden Globes ceremony in January that she has “a movie shoot” and will not attend the Grammys.

Lorde

After receiving no nominations for her fourth album Virgin, Lorde appeared to sit out the night entirely.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert skipped the 2026 Grammys despite being nominated for Best Contemporary Country Album. According to Page Six, the singer chose not to attend the ceremony, though no specific reason was given for her absence.

Morgan Wallen

The country artist once again sat out the Grammys. Page Six also shared that Morgan Wallen—who has skipped major award shows in the past—did not attend this year’s ceremony and was not nominated in any category.

Taylor Swift

Swift was a predicted no-show. She wasn’t nominated this year, as her releases did not fall in the award ceremony’s window, plus, she could be focused on wedding planning with fiancé Travis Kelce.

Timothée Chalamet

Timothée Chalamet earned his first-ever Grammy nomination for singing in A Complete Unknown this year, which was up for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. He skipped the ceremony to attend the Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards in London instead, according to E! News. His girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, also was not in attendance.

The Weeknd

With no nominations for Hurry Up Tomorrow or “Timeless,” The Weeknd, who is a four-time Grammy winner, appeared to be absent from the event.

2010s Rock Duo Announces Co-Headlining U.S. Tour

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 9:38pm

Friendship Commanders, the heavy melodic rock duo that broke out in the 2010s, have announced a co-headlining U.S. tour that will take them across the Southeast and Midwest in early 2026.

The tour begins in February and stretches into April, bringing the Nashville-based band’s loud, emotional live shows to small clubs and key cities they hold close.

The announcement came directly from the band on Instagram, where they shared a full list of dates and a personal message to fans.

“OUR UPDATES! Our first run of 2026 starts in 4 weeks and we have some new shows to share!” the duo wrote.

The tour includes select dates alongside Temptress, as well as solo headlining shows later in the spring. One of the most meaningful stops is Miami on Feb. 25, which will mark vocalist and guitarist Buick Audra’s first-ever hometown performance.

“It will be Buick Audra’s first ever show in her hometown! Come spend it with us!” the band shared, highlighting how personal this run feels.

Friendship Commanders are touring in support of their fourth album, BEAR, released in October 2025 via Magnetic Eye Records. The record has earned strong praise in underground heavy rock circles for its mix of crushing guitars, melodic vocals and honest storytelling.

Friendship Commanders' 2026 Tour Dates and Cities

The U.S. leg opens on Feb. 18 in Houston, Texas, and winds through the South before closing with April shows in Nashville and Chicago. Stops include Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Gainesville, Tampa, Miami, Atlanta, Asheville and Richmond, among others. The added Chicago date on April 10 at Reggie’s Music Joint was a late addition, which the band noted with clear excitement, calling it a “fave city of ours.”

Here is the full list of announced dates:

  • Feb. 18 – Houston, TX – Black Magic Social Club
  • Feb. 19 – Baton Rouge, LA – Mid City Ballroom
  • Feb. 20 – New Orleans, LA – Siberia
  • Feb. 21 – Mobile, AL – Alabama Music Box
  • Feb. 22 – Gainesville, FL – The Atlantic
  • Feb. 24 – Tampa, FL – Deviant Libation
  • Feb. 25 – Miami, FL – Las Rosas
  • Feb. 26 – Orlando, FL – Will’s Pub
  • Feb. 27 – Jacksonville, FL – Hard Love
  • Feb. 28 – Savannah, GA – Totally Awesome Bar
  • March 1 – Athens, GA – The World Famous
  • March 3 – Atlanta, GA – Boggs Social
  • March 4 – Asheville, NC – The Odd
  • March 5 – Richmond, VA – Cobra Cabana
  • March 6 – Durham, NC – Pinhook
  • March 7 – Charlotte, NC – Snug Harbor
  • March 8 – Chattanooga, TN – JJ’s Bohemia
  • April 4 – Nashville, TN – TN Brew Works
  • April 10 – Chicago, IL – Reggie’s Music Joint

Tickets are available now, with the band urging fans to grab them early due to limited venue sizes.

Friendship Commanders consists of Buick Audra and drummer/bassist Jerry Roe, a duo known for making a massive sound with just two people. Formed in the mid-2010s, the band has built a loyal following through relentless touring and a strong DIY approach.

BEAR continues that path. The album explores themes of belonging, isolation and survival, with songs like “KEEPING SCORE,” “DRAIN” and “DEAD & DISCARDED GIRLS” standing out for their emotional weight. Audra has spoken openly about feeling like an outsider, a theme that runs through both the record and the band’s live shows.

That honesty carries into the tour announcement itself. Friendship Commanders closed their message with a note of solidarity, writing, “Our solidarity to everyone fighting back right now. We’re with you! See you at the shows.” It’s a reminder that the band sees touring not just as promotion, but as a shared experience with their audience.

After this U.S. run, the pair is also preparing for their first major European tour later in 2026, marking another milestone in a career built on persistence and connection. For now, the focus is clear: packed rooms, loud amps and real moments onstage.

Classic Rock Treasures Set to Be Unearthed in New Docuseries

Sun, 02/01/2026 - 9:33pm

Classic rock fans are about to get a rare, behind-the-scenes look at where some of music’s most important history is stored—and who is protecting it.

CNN has announced a new original docuseries hosted by Fred Armisen that will take viewers deep inside Universal Music Group’s vaults, home to what is widely considered the largest music archive in the world. The untitled series is set to premiere later this year as part of CNN Originals’ 2026 programming slate.

RELATED: Legendary 1967 Album Ranked Best Classic Rock Debut Ever

The series will explore pivotal moments in pop culture through the artists and recordings that helped shape them—many of them rooted firmly in the classic rock era. Universal Music Group’s archive includes original master tapes, rare recordings, alternative album art, photos, and performance footage, much of which has never been publicly seen or heard.

At the center of the project is a massive, highly secure vault located 220 feet underground at an Iron Mountain facility in Boyers, Pennsylvania—a former limestone mine that now houses priceless musical artifacts spanning generations.

Armisen, a longtime music fan and musician himself, will serve as the audience’s guide through the archive. According to CNN, the series will blend discovery with storytelling, uncovering not just famous recordings but the lesser-known moments, decisions, and creative risks that helped define eras like classic rock’s golden age.

“This series opens the doors to one of the most extraordinary music archives in the world,” said Amy Entelis, executive vice president of talent, CNN Originals and creative development. “His deep connection to music and natural sense of wonder allow viewers a chance to experience music history up close, discovering the unexpected stories behind some of the most iconic sounds ever created.”

EVP and Chief Administrative Officer at Universal Music Group Will Tanous added, “This series was born from a desire to show fans what it’s like to mine the greatest underground musical archive in the world—giving them a sense of the hunt, the challenge, the thrill of this work—as well as direct access to the dedicated experts who preserve and champion these incredible musical legacies. Fred’s singular blend of humor, fandom, and musical talent makes him the ideal storyteller to reveal the intimate era-defining moments and unheard gems that form the foundation of popular culture.”

While the series is expected to span multiple genres, classic rock looms large in Universal’s catalog, which includes recordings tied to some of the most influential artists and albums of the 20th century. From master tapes to unreleased material, the archive represents decades of cultural memory—carefully preserved, cataloged, and protected.

The project continues CNN Originals’ recent run of music-focused storytelling, following acclaimed documentaries that have explored legacy artists, landmark albums, and defining cultural movements. It also builds on Universal Music Group’s expanding slate of film and television projects that revisit music history with fresh access and modern context.

For longtime fans, the series promises something especially compelling: a chance to see where the music they grew up with physically lives, and how fragile and valuable that history really is.

As classic rock continues to find new audiences through streaming, reissues, and documentaries, this series positions the archive itself as the next frontier—revealing not just the sounds, but the stories buried deep beneath them.

Bad Bunny continued, "We're not savages. We're not animals. We're not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans."

After another round of applause, he added, "Also, I want to say to the people, I know it's tough not to hate on these days. And I was thinking, sometimes we get contaminados [contaminated], I don't know how to say that in English. The hate gets more powerful... The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love."

To conclude his acceptance speech, Bad Bunny implored, "Please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don't hate them. We love our people. We love our family. And that's the way to do it. We love. Don't forget that, please."
