PETA Sends Pointed Message to Sabrina Carpenter After Her Latest Performance
Sabrina Carpenter's performance at the Grammys may have earned a round of applause from fans, but not everyone was pleased.
The former Disney star delivered what's being described as a theatrical performance of her nominated single, "Manchild," at the show on Sunday, Feb. 1, in which she brought a retro airport-themed stage to life.
The 26-year-old danced on a moving luggage conveyor belt while clad in a bold all-white outfit inspired by a pilot's uniform.
But there was one part of the performance that stirred up controversy, and even sparked backlash from animal-rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Carpenter was joined onstage by a special guest—a live dove—which appeared several times throughout the performance.
PETA wasted no time sharing its feelings on the situation via Instagram, writing, "Did @sabrinacarpenter really just bring a bird on stage in 2026?!"
"The Manchild singer is giving childlike behavior. Leave animals out of the #GRAMMYs!" the post further called out the Espresso crooner.
View this post on InstagramThe post also included an image of Carpenter posing with the bird, with yet another blunt warning, "Hey Sabrina, bringing a live bird onto the Grammys stage is stupid, slow, useless.... and cruel."
The non-profit organization went on to explain their reasoning, adding that "bright lights, loud noise, and handling cause fear and distress for a bird who belongs flying free in the sky."

While some in the comments agreed with PETA, many others defended her actions.
"y'all acting like she gutted the bird on stage i'm crine [sic]," one wrote, while another noted, "I watched and felt bad for that little baby."
Others questioned the bird's necessity in the performance, writing, "I love Sabrina but i saw the bird and I was like why?"
Several more echoed, "Yes I love her and the performance ate so bad but the bird wasn't necessary" and "Same. Added nothing."
Someone went as far as making an Instagram handle called "Sabrina's Grammy Bird" and defended, "No guys, trust, I wanted to be there."
Despite being one of the most-nominated artists of the year, Carpenter walked away empty-handed, though her performance was seen online as one of the most standout moments of the evening.
Carpenter wasn't the only one to catch the wrath of the organization following the Grammys, as another post called out Lady Gaga's performance outfit that featured feathers.
"Feathers belong on birds and birds should be free, not in cages. Not sure what @ladygaga’s #GRAMMYs message is, but that’s PETA’s. Whether they’re plucked out while the bird is alive, or after they are killed, the bird always suffers," the post read.
However, many fans pointed out in the comments that it's an archival Alexander McQueen look from a 2009 collection, with one underscoring, " Blaming her for wearing feathers here feels misplaced and a bit irrelevant."
View this post on InstagramPETA has taken issue with many celebrities in the past, most recently sending a letter to the creator and showrunner of The Bear, Christopher Storer, to encourage him to use only vegan foods and props.
Indie Rock Band Reflects on Third Grammy Nomination Since Forming
The Marias are celebrating this incredible milestone.
The indie rock band consisting of María Zardoya, Josh Conway, Jesse Perlman and Edward James was nominated for Best New Artist at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday evening. The Marias, named after the frontwoman Zardoya, formed in Los Angeles in 2016, after she and Conway met at the Kibitz Room in LA.
Before the ceremony, The Marías spoke with Rolling Stone on the red carpet to talk about their nomination.
"I've been looking forward to [Sunday] since [last] Tuesday," James said, which caused the rest of the band to laugh. "We're so lucky and fortunate that we get to do it together."
Zardoya added, "We're a little family. "We've been doing this together since 2016 — writing in our van, playing pizza parlors, playing bars, just playing to five people. You know, to be here years later at the Grammys is just so special and so cool."
View this post on InstagramWhen first starting, The Marías were offered an opportunity to create songs for television, which helped them understand the visual and sonic feel they wanted. When the plans did not make it on the shows, they made two EPs: Superclean Vol. I and Superclean Vol. II in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
Three years later, they signed with Atlantic Records and released "Hush," which became their first chart-topping single. In 2022, they released their debut album, Cinema, which was nominated for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at the 64th Grammy Awards. In addition, they collaborated with Bad Bunny on the song "Otro Atardecer" from his album Un Verano Sin Ti, for which they were nominated for Album of the Year as featured artists in 2023.
In early 2024, they started promoting their second studio album, Submarine, which includes their viral hit "No One Noticed," which peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. They also performed this song on Sunday evening as part of the award ceremony's Best New Artist segment.
To become a Grammy Best New Artist nominee, an artist or band must achieve a significant, breakout impact in public during the eligibility year. In addition, artists must have at least five singles or one LP, but not more than three albums, or have won a Grammy. Though The Marías were formed a decade ago, they still match these requirements.
"It's surreal, we've been doing it for a while, it didn't feel like Best New Artist was really gonna be an option, after six years, now it's been 10," Conway told Rolling Stone. "It was surprising, and we are very excited to be here."
The Grammy Awards took place this past Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Other nominees for the Best New Artist category included KATSEYE, Addison Rae, Alex Warren, Leon Thomas, sombr, Lola Young and Olivia Dean, who took home the award.

Melissa Gilbert appeared in the first social media video since her husband Timothy Busfield's arrest for alleged child sex abuse.
On Jan. 20, a judge granted Busfield, 68, release on his own recognizance pending trial. All About Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy and Her Family
Savannah Guthrie's mom Nancy Guthrie is, the TODAY anchor says, "a mother like no other."
"My mom Nancy is my heart and my everything and my model for what a mother should be," Savannah wrote in a heartfelt birthday tribute to her mother on Jan. 27, 2020.
Nancy went missing over the weekend and was last seen outside of her home on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.
The 84-year-old matriarch is reportedly in poor health and has mobility issues, and authorities announced on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, that they were treating the disappearance as a "crime."
Savannah missed the Monday broadcast of TODAY and said in a statement, "On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

All About Savannah Guthrie's MomWho is Savannah Guthrie's mom? Savannah Guthrie and her mother Nancy Guthrie on the set of TODAY on June 15, 2023Savannah Guthrie's mother is Nancy Guthrie.
“She’s lived a life of integrity and loyalty. She is a consistent doer of the right thing and the hard thing,” gushed on TODAY in January 2022. “She’s a truth teller, whether you really want to hear the truth or not. She’s quick and she’s smart, she’s well-read, she’s curious about everything.”
Savannah also said her mother, who was a stay-at-home mom, is "selfless," and that trait played a huge role in Savannah's success as a broadcast journalist.
"My father died when I was entering my senior year in high school. I then lived at home all through college," she said. "We didn't have money to afford the dorm. And that was thing one, but the other was that my sister and I really felt like we should stick with my mom and not leave her alone."
When Savannah was 21 years old, she got a job offer at a small newsroom in Butte, Montana, at the NBC affiliate KTVM. She said her mother encouraged her to accept it and chase her dream instead of staying home with her.
"When I moved to Butte, Montana, this was it, and it was really hard for me to leave her," Savannah recalled. "And that's when she said, 'If you can't leave me, then I didn't do my job right, Savannah,'" Savannah said of her mom's unselfish stance. "She just gave me permission to go, you know? She could have held onto me. It wouldn't have taken very much. If she said, 'Well, you know, Savannah maybe you could find something a little closer to home...'"
She added, "It's not because she didn't want me to stay. Of course she wanted me to stay! But she's like, 'I'm not going to stand in the way of your dreams. I'm going to tell you, go go go go go.'"
In a tribute to Nancy also in 2022, Savannah said on TODAY, "She has met unthinkable challenges in her life with grit, without self-pity, with determination, and always, always with unshakeable faith. She loves us, her family, fiercely, and her selflessness and sacrifice for us, her steadfastness and her unmovable confidence is the reason any of us grew up to do anything."
"She's daring and adventurous," Savannah added. "She's willing to jet off anywhere, and I really do mean jet—she once got in an F-16 in Fort Wright."
Similarly, on Mother's Day 2024, she wrote that Nancy was "God's first, best and most important gift to me."

She previously described him in an essay for TODAY as "always strong, sometimes terrifying, loyal to the end, and disarmingly gentle and tender when it counted."
"People adored him and gravitated towards him. But for all these wonderful and magnetic traits, the one I remain most grateful for is his integrity," she added. "He had an unbending notion of right and wrong. His moral clarity was demanding and sometimes intimidating, but he tempered it, at the moment you most needed and least expected it, with kindness and mercy."

She told PEOPLE that her father "spent so much time with us and he took us so seriously," making it hard to adjust to life without him.
"The loss of my father was shocking and devastating. It cracked open our family and crushed us," she said. "He was our center. We just idealized him and adored him. He was larger than life, and funny, and charming, and adorable. His loss was so sudden and so shocking."
She previously said on Brooke Shields'What Now? podcast that the grief from losing her father largely shaped her as a person and influenced her career choices.
“I know it changed me and probably changed the whole trajectory of my life,” she said. “I often think that I would have been totally different if my father had lived. I just don’t know that I would have chosen this career. I don’t know if I would have left home. I might’ve stayed in my hometown. I don’t know what I would have done, but I know fundamentally it changed everything. And some things it changed for the better, in the sense of, I know that my heart is more tender because of it.”
“I think it changes everything. I always think of it as on our calendars we have B.C. and A.D. There’s a before and after," she explained. "It’s just this stark dividing line. There’s before my dad died and there’s after, and it’s profound. Grief is a lifelong process. I really believe that. There’s acute grief.”

Timothee Chalamet Reveals Eye-Popping Amount He Paid to Perform Bob Dylan Songs on ‘SNL’
Timothée Chalamet put his money where his mouth was in his Saturday Night Live tribute to Bob Dylan.
During a Sunday, February 1, Q&A at London’s Prince Charles Cinema, the actor, 30, reflected on his January 2025 stint as a musical guest on the sketch comedy series while promoting his role as Dylan, 84, in the 2024 biopic A Complete Unknown. At the time, Chalamet performed his “personal favorites” from the singer’s catalog—including “Outlaw Blues,” “Three Angels” and “Tomorrow Is a Long Time”—but the moment was nearly thwarted due to issues behind the scenes.
“I spent over six figures out of my pocket to do the SNL performance,” Chalamet said on Sunday, per Variety. “Lorne Michaels said, ‘Hey, do you want to host SNL?’ I said, ‘Yeah, can I do the music?’ He’s like, ‘No.’ I said, ‘All right, I’m not doing it.’ He said, ‘OK, do the music.’ But I refused to take no for an answer.”
Chalamet recalled his Saturday Night Live performance while discussing his reputation for promoting his films with attention-grabbing public appearances.
“I really don’t look at it as promotion or marketing. I see myself as an artist expanding,” he explained. “I feel like I’m expressing myself. … I feel like I’ve got the keys, I’ve got the right attitude, I’ve got the juice.”
Chalamet added that he approaches his acting roles by embracing “method energy,” which simply represents “being in the tone of the film.”
A Complete Unknown follows Dylan’s career as a folk singer in the early 1960s. Ahead of the movie’s December 2024 release, Dylan shared his endorsement of the project via X.
“There’s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!),” he wrote at the time. “Timothée Chalamet is starring in the lead role. Timmy’s a brilliant actor so I’m sure he’s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me.”
He continued: “The film’s taken from Elijah Wald’sDylan Goes Electric—a book that came out in 2015. It’s a fantastic retelling of events from the early ‘60s that led up to the fiasco at Newport. After you’ve seen the movie read the book.”
Chalamet later told Rotten Tomatoes he was “absolutely floored” by Dylan’s praise.
“It’s like someone I never imagined putting an energy of affirmation out there,” he said. “And that’s how I’m gonna take it, that’s how I’m gonna cherish it, unless he deletes it.”
Chalamet earned an Actor Award for his portrayal of Dylan in A Complete Unknown. He was also nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Critics Choice Award and landed his first Grammy nod for the film’s soundtrack.
More recently, Chalamet has received critical acclaim for his role in Marty Supreme. This awards season, he has already taken home a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award for best actor. He is also nominated for an Academy Award and Actor Award for his performance in the film.
'American Pickers' Mike Wolfe Shares Rare Comments About Frank Fritz After His Death
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe shared rare comments about his late costar, Frank Fritz, following the History Channel personality's death at 60 in September 2024.
On Monday, Feb. 2, Wolfe took to Instagram with an old photo of himself during the filming of Season 1 of American Pickers.
"This photo was sent to me by someone in production a few days ago. It was taken the day Frank and I shot the intro to American Pickers back in 2009," he began in the update. "We were in a junkyard in Georgia and were cold wore out and depleted."
Wolfe continued, "The first season we were on the road weeks at a time. One block I remember was 5 weeks. We had no idea what we were doing. Even though I had filmed Frank and I traveling for five years, it wasn’t structured content. Our passion along with hands on knowledge carried us. We had a great team and we all felt like we were making something that mattered."
View this post on InstagramTo conclude his post, Wolfe quoted himself in the American Pickers' intro, writing, "'We make a living telling the history of America one piece at a time.' Those words from that intro still mean something to me and my crew. Derek Hough Skips Grammys at the Last Minute: ‘The Heart Had Other Plans’
Derek Houghwas all dressed and ready to head out to the Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 1, but he made a last-minute decision to skip the event.
"About to walk out the door and hit the @grammys last night. Picked up my girl to say goodbye , and then never walked out the door," Hough, 40, wrote on Instagram. "The heart had other plans last night."
Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert Hough, welcomed their daughter, Everley Capri Hough, in December 2025.
The Houghs are simply over the moon following the birth of Everley and have been so in awe of everything surrounding parenthood thus far. It's no surprise that Hough felt an urge to stay home and snuggle with his wife and his daughter, and fans love every minute of those authentic feelings.
Dozens of fans took to the comments section of the post to react, many completely understanding Hough's desire to stay home with his family.
View this post on Instagram"Those babies change everything. Your heart will forever be outside your body now," one person wrote.
"There was nothing good and important at the grammys!! You heart made the right and wise choice. Everley is proud of your choices @derekhough," someone else said.
"That is the sweetest thing! You made the right choice," a third comment read.
"Gotta say it’s better watching from home with your best buddy. There’s gonna be many Grammys. But never the same Everly in this moment in time," a fourth Instagram user added.
It's unknown if Hough was slated to work the event for Extra, or if he was just going to the show as a guest, but our best guess would be the latter.
Iconic ’80s Band Reunites With Original Lineup for the First Time in 34 Years
The rock community received some exciting news.
On Monday, the Frontier Rock Festival official Instagram account announced that the original members of the hard rock band Giant will be reuniting at this year's festival in Milan, which will take place from May 1-3 at the Live Club, Trezzo sull’Adda.
Formed in 1987 in Nashville, the band originally consisted of musicians Dann Huff, his brother David, Alan Pasqua and Mike Brignardello. Giant eventually disbanded in 1992, but resurfaced again in 2000 without Pasqua.
Dann Huff returned for the reunion in 2000 but left after the band disbanded again in 2002, and briefly returned in 2017. Giant officially came back in 2009, and the current members are Kent Hilli on lead vocals, Jimmy Westerlund on guitar, and original members David Huff and Brignardello.
In addition to the original Giant members, the "Time to Burn" touring members Larry Oakley, Bryan Cole and Larry Hall will also be in attendance at Frontiers.
"Giant are officially reuniting their ORIGINAL lineup for a full show at the Frontiers Rock Festival 2026 — a truly historic and long-awaited moment for melodic hard rock fans worldwide," Frontiers wrote in their Instagram caption. "This is more than a reunion — it’s a celebration of a band whose music helped define an era. Don’t miss your chance to witness Giant together on stage once again."
View this post on InstagramGiant released their debut album Last of the Runaways in 1989, which included their hits "I'm a Believer" and "I'll See You in My Dreams." They followed it up with their second record, Time to Burn, four years later.
After many lineup changes and breaks over the last 40 years, Giant has released four more studio albums, with their most recent being Stand and Deliver on July 4, 2025.

Turning Point USA Reveals 'All‑American Halftime Show' Lineup Featuring Controversial Country Star
Ever since Bad Bunny was announced as Super Bowl LX's Halftime Show performer, Turning Point USA, the conservative organization founded by late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, revealed it would be hosting its own alternative halftime show.
And now, it just announced its lineup.
Turning Point USA's "All-American Halftime Show"—hoping to compete with the show put on by the NFL with Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—revealed it will feature the following performers: Kid Rock, BrantleyGilbert and Lee Brice.
Additionally, Gabby Barrett, who took home the new female artist of the year award at the Academy of Country Music in 2021, will also join as the only female performer, as of now.
View this post on Instagram"We're approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?" Kid Rock said in a release announcing the lineup, per USA Today.
Kid Rock has been widely considered a controversial artist for reasons spanning his music, public statements and political associations, as he's a close ally of President Donald Trump.
The announcement didn't come without a jab at Bad Bunny, as Kid Rock continued, "He's said he's having a dance party, wearing a dress, and singing in Spanish? Cool. We plan to play great songs for folks who love America."
Turning Point's show will celebrate "faith, family, and freedom" and will stream via their socialchannels, as well as several conservative networks, including Real America's Voice and OAN.
Reactions to the "All American Halftime Show" were mixed, with one writing, "Cringe asf 🤣🤣🤣 y’all are soooo mad about Spanish music being performed it’s HYSTERICAL," while others noted, "LET’S GO! Finally a halftime show worth watching! 👏🇺🇸🦅."
Someone else underscored that "Puerto Rico is part of America."
Most recently, Kid Rock's inclusion on the lineup for Rock the Country 2026, an official musical celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday, celebrating “250 years of freedom” at a “festival for the people,” according to the official event flyer, sparked an intense amount of backlash.
Many artists removed themselves from the lineup after fans questioned why they were taking part in an event headlined by conservative artists like Rock and Jason Aldean.
Ludacris was the first artist to drop out, with his rep telling Rolling Stone that he was never supposed to be on the lineup, and that his inclusion had been the result of a “mix-up.”
“Lines got crossed and he wasn’t supposed to be on there,” the rep said, with Morgan Wade and CarterFaith following suit.
Meanwhile, the NFL has stood behind Bad Bunny, saying he would “unite” fans, but the choice sparked considerable controversy. Some critics took issue with him performing primarily in Spanish, while others argued the show should feature more “traditional American” music. Additional backlash stemmed from perceptions that he is an overly political choice due to his activism and stances on immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, and the current administration.
Bad Bunny has continued to speak out about his beliefs and achieve milestones leading up to the Big Game, most recently accepting the Grammy for Album of the Year, becoming the first Latin artist to win the award in the award show's 68-year history.
During his acceptance speech after winning the Best Música Urbana Album category for his album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, he sent a bold political message about ICE, stating, "Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say ICE out,” he said, as the audience erupted into cheers and gave him a standing ovation.
The Super Bowl will air on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with kick-off scheduled at 6:30 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast live on NBC and Telemundo, along with streaming services like Peacock.
Coca-Cola’s ‘Nostalgic’ New Flavor Launches This Month
Coca-Cola fans, this isn't a drill, it's finally happening—and we're not talking about the return of Diet Coke Cherry (although we've received word that's also underway).
This past fall, the beverage titan teased a new flavor would be coming in the first half of 2026 and now that it's officially February, Coca-Cola has some updates to share. Thankfully, the company is sticking to its original timeline and confirmed on Monday that its highly anticipated new soda flavor would be launching very soon and alongside the official return of Diet Coke Cherry.
So for all those fans patiently waiting the arrival of Coca-Cola's new Cherry Float flavor, consider this the final countdown.
Coca-Cola Cherry Float and Diet Coke Cherry Expected to Roll Out Nationwide This FebruaryIn a Feb. 2 announcement, Coca-Cola suggested its new flavor—which was inspired by the classic soda fountain treat—is a reflection of the "growing demand for nostalgic flavors reimagined in modern ways," and it's finally making way to shelves four months after it was first announced.

According to a press release, the new Coca-Cola Cherry Float delievers the "iconic" taste of a Cherry Coke float just without any added ice cream or dairy. It does so by blending the classic flavors of Coca‑Cola Cherry with smooth, creamy vanilla notes for "a familiar yet new profile."
To make the new flavor feel even more "nostalgic," Coke Cherry Float comes with refreshed branding that maintains Coca‑Cola’s iconic red while incorporating "cherry-inspired pink and purple gradients" and a vintage Coca‑Cola float illustration.

Coca-Cola Cherry Float will be available in both full and zero-sugar formats (white script on the label distinguishes full-sugar varieties, and black script differentiates zero-sugar) found in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and single 20-ounce bottles at most grocery stores and major retailers in the United States and Canada (prices may vary). The company has also made the cherry-flavored lineup available online via the official Coca-Cola website and said select offerings will be accessible via Coca‑Cola Freestyle machines.
As for Diet Coke Cherry, the company said it is also in the process of being shipped to stores and retailers nationwide and across Canada, so fans can expect to find it sometime this month, wherever they typically pick up other Coca-Cola favorites. It will also be available in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and 20-ounce bottles with updated packaging featuring standard Diet Coke branding and cherry iconography (the limited retro packaging previously seen in select markets will not be part of the national release).

Christie Brinkley Eats Whipped Cream From the Can in Hilarious 72nd Birthday Video Made by Her Daughter
Christie Brinkley rose to fame as the eponymous California girl, and she's still the same legendary blonde on her 72nd birthday.
Brinkley, who rose to fame as a model and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl in the ’80s, has been on the cover of hundreds of magazines over the years. While she parlayed that beautiful face into an acting career, the role she considers most important is mother.
Brinkley's lookalike daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, took to social media on Monday to honor her mom with a hilarious clip video that shows Brinkley doing everything from dancing in her lingerie and feeding her dog from her plate at the table to eating directly from a can of whipped cream in the middle of the grocery store.
"HBD MOM!!!!❤️," Brinkley Cook captioned the sweet video. In the comments section, Brinkley replied with a sweet message to her "precious Sailor Lee like the Sunflower 🌻."
"You always add smiles and beauty to every day! With your talent as a filmmaker, you capture the little moments that might go unnoticed …but are actually the precious moments that make up our lives! Thank you for making all the moments special and for this film that captures them perfectly. Here’s to always finding the magic in the moments big and small. I love you! Thank you for this amazing present! 😘," Brinkley shared.
View this post on Instagram She's a DIY Diva in a BikiniThese days, Brinkley loves to spend time at her luxury Turks and Caicos estate, Lucky House. But when it comes to doing her DIY projects, she manages to make them look a whole lot more glamorous than the rest of us.
“Mirror mirror on the wall, fix you up if your shells do fall! I’m not complaining because I LOVE a project! Hope everyone finds time to do something you L❤️VE today! #before#after 🐚🪸 @luckyhouseparrotcay,” she captioned a recent series of photos, which features Brinkley sporting a dark string bikini to gather shells, reef, and other items from the sea to create a frame around a mirror. With a straw hat on her head, the ageless beauty has barely changed since her “Uptown Girl” days.
View this post on Instagram Revealing How She Was DiscoveredLast year, on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Brinkley shared that her modeling career kicked off when she was approached by a man during her days as a struggling artist living in Paris.
“My Paris apartment didn’t have a telephone. It didn’t have a bathtub or a shower,” Brinkley, who released her memoir, Uptown Girl, in April 2025, explained to Clarkson. “I would go to the public baths a couple of blocks away. If I needed to make a phone call, I would go to the telephoning office and I would use the phone there.”
A trip to that telephoning artist turned out to be just the thing that started Brinkley’s modeling career. A photographer in the neighborhood had seen Brinkley at the telephoning office before, and when he got a job that needed a fresh-faced California girl like Brinkley, he knew she’d be perfect for the gig.
“He thought, ‘that girl from the telephoning office!’” Brinkley recalled.
One day, Brinkley was carrying her puppy around and wasn’t paying attention to where she was going. It was then that she ran right into the photographer.
“I smacked right into him in the phone office,” Brinkley shared, explaining that moment was the catalyst for her legendary career.
While it may seem like a stroke of luck, Brinkley went on to say that the run-in with the photographer is just another example of how fate has played a role in her life.
“Whether it was something really bad, really heartbreaking, or really devastating, it can still propel you places that you never suspected, you know?” Brinkley shared.

Frank’s RedHot Brings Hip-Hop Energy to the Super Bowl
As Super Bowl LX descends on February 8, 2026, brands and advertisers are jockeying for attention, and Frank’s RedHot is no exception.
The hot sauce brand has launched a new campaign titled “Eat the GOAT,” featuring rapper and actor Ludacris in a commercial that combines food culture, hip-hop attitude and game-day rituals ahead of the Big Game.
The commercial reimagines the widely recognized acronym “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) as something to be eaten through food and flavor. In the humorous commercial, Ludacris interacts with a goat wearing sunglasses alongside cameo appearances from artists including Chingy, DJ Infamous and Shawnna, while his 2001 hit “Number One Spot” plays in the background.
A Flavor-Driven Super Bowl MomentThe choice to pair Ludacris with a food brand may seem familiar on the surface, but the spot leans into cultural fluency rather than straight product placement.
Super Bowl advertising increasingly blends entertainment with food-centered rituals, including wings, dips, and other game-day staples. Frank’s RedHot’s creative team reframes the brand’s signature sauce as part of that cultural moment, leaning on early viral buzz that’s less about heat and more about shared experience.
That strategy reflects a broader trend among advertisers: marrying recognizable cultural touchstones with playful storytelling to cut through the dense noise of Super Bowl ad season. While the brand did not disclose specifics of its ad buy, the campaign’s early circulation mirrors other star-led spots gaining traction online well before the game airs.

Ludacris, Humor and Cultural PlacementFor Ludacris, the campaign taps both nostalgia and personality. He has openly spoken about his affinity for hot sauce and game-day sharing moments, and his involvement adds a dimension beyond celebrity cameo, it connects a recognizable voice in hip-hop with the ritualistic side of sports watching. Ludacris described the shoot as fun and collaborative, with the actual goat stealing laughs on set and contributing to the lighthearted tone.
The inclusion of other artists from Ludacris’ circle reinforces the communal feel of the campaign, suggesting an ethos of shared food, shared culture and shared moments, a sensible fit for an event watched by tens of millions each year.
What This Campaign SignalsIn a Super Bowl ad landscape that mixes legacy brands with creative storytelling, Frank’s RedHot’s effort stands out for leaning fully into cultural language rather than hard selling sauce. By inserting a hip-hop voice into food and sports context, the campaign positions Frank’s not just as a flavor choice but as part of the entertainment fabric of the day.
Super Bowl advertising has always been about more than products; it’s about moments and memories. With “Eat the GOAT,” Frank’s RedHot has added its own beat to the soundtrack of one of the year’s biggest cultural events.

'General Hospital' Alum Shares How He Landed Dillon Quartermaine
Former General Hospital star Robert Palmer Watkins is reflecting on the journey that led him to join the ABC soap as legacy character Dillon Quartermaine.
Watkins recently spoke with NDB Media, where he discussed his acting training, his work on The Walking Dead, and his time on General Hospital, including working alongside the late Anthony Geary.
During the conversation, Watkins explained how the breakout role came together. “At the time my manager Paulo let me know that an audition popped up for Mark Techner, the casting director at General Hospital,” he recalled.
“I didn't hear anything for a while,” Watkins said. “It was kind of a back and forth thing.”
The process, he explained, wasn’t quick. “For whatever reason, I went in and then there were a few months that went by and I didn't hear anything. Then they called me back in and then things kind of picked up.”
Watkins noted that joining the soap involved multiple audition rounds. “Usually it goes initial audition, then you might have a call back or like a producer session where you come in and you get you do the scene again,” he said. “The final thing that I had to do was go to General Hospital to the actual set, and do what’s called a screen test.”
By the time of the screen test, the competition was still fierce. “It was down to me and five other guys which I was like, ‘Oh my god, it's there's still six of us,’” Watkins joked. “You're hoping that by the time you get to the screen test, it's like it's either you or this guy.”
Watkins revealed that his screen test partner was Emme Rylan, who previously played Lulu Spencer. “She did the scene and they filmed it just like they were filming the show,” he explained. “They did it with myself and with the five other guys. So, it was a full day of basically shooting the scene.”
Afterward, Watkins went home thinking it had gone well but tried not to get his hopes up, knowing several other actors were still in the running.
“The next day, my manager called me,” Watkins recalled. “He said, ‘You booked a four-year contract. You booked it Rob, and you're playing a legacy character, Dylan Quartermaine.”
“I was so excited,” Watkins said. “I called my mom at her work, and they announced it over the speaker phone.”
Looking back, Watkins said the moment remains one of his most cherished memories. “It was one of the greatest days of my life,” he shared. “Those are the days you got to hold on to when it gets hard out here, and it does get hard.”
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC with episodes streaming weeknights on Hulu.
The Popular Cooking Method Oncologists Are Begging People to Limit
We hear a lot about eating a healthy diet rich in nutrient-dense foods. Plant-focused eating patterns that limit foods such as red meat and ultra-processed, sugary items take center stage in dietary advice. Eating the rainbow and popular diets like the Mediterranean Diet have decades of data supporting their benefits for everything from better heart health to a lower risk of cancer.
Still. What you eat is only one piece of the puzzle, especially when it comes to cancer prevention. What happens to the food before it hits your plate also matters. We're talking about how you're cooking your food.
"How we prepare our food can change its chemical makeup," says Dr. Shikha Jain, MD, FACP, a triple board-certified hematologist and oncologist and an associate professor at the University of Illinois Cancer Center. "Certain cooking methods can create harmful compounds, while others help preserve nutrients and reduce inflammation."
Dr. Jain points out that these meal-prep choices happen daily, and you may have a preferred method you use consistently. "Small differences in food prep can add up over time and influence long-term health, including cancer risk," Dr. Jain says.
Another oncologist agrees, saying that shifting your cooking techniques can have a full-body and longevity-extending effect. "Choosing safer cooking techniques allows you to preserve nutritional value while minimizing exposure to these harmful byproducts," saysDr. Andre Goy, MD, a Hackensack Meridian John Theurer Cancer Center physician-in-chief and vice president of oncology.
First, you need to know the popular cooking method oncologists want people to limit. Three oncologists agree that it's best to avoid this one cooking strategy as much as possible, and what to do instead.
Alex Treadway/Getty Images
One way to reduce your cancer risk is to avoid charring food, such as meat and vegetables, intentionally.
"Charring foods, including meat, fruit and vegetables, can produce heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which can cause DNA damage in cells, increasing the risk of developing cancers, especially colorectal cancer," says Dr. Anton Bilchik, MD, Ph.D., a surgical oncologist, chief of medicine and the director of the Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Program at Providence Saint John’s Cancer Institute.
That may have been a mouthful to digest, especially if it's not every day or any day that you see terms like "heterocyclic amines" and "polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons."
"HCAs form when muscle proteins, like meat, poultry and fish, are exposed to high temperatures," Dr. Goy says. "PAHs are created when fat drips onto flames or hot surfaces, producing smoke that adheres to food."
If you accidentally charred food, you don't necessarily have to throw a whole broccoli tree or a slice of chicken in the garbage. "If food becomes charred, trim or scrape off all blackened portions," Dr. Goy states. "Discard food that is heavily burned throughout. These charred areas contain concentrated HCAs and PAHs and should not be consumed."
What you shouldn't do? Freak out, as hard as it is after seeing all of the above. "There’s no need to panic—just don’t make it routine," Dr. Jain says.
If you have been eating charred food for a long time, you may have concerns and questions about whether you're now at a higher risk for cancer. Also, you may simply want to know how much charred food is too much.
"There’s no clear cutoff," Dr. Jain adds. "Risk appears to be related tohow often and how long someone is exposed over time. An occasional charred meal is unlikely to meaningfully raise cancer risk, but making heavily charred foods a regular habit may."
Your best bet is to move forward and prepare food differently.

The Type of Protein You Prep Also Matters (A Lot)The first step in safer meal prep is menu planning. Fruits and vegetables are excellent choices. When it comes to protein, though, you'll want to be discerning—especially when managing your cancer risk.
Dr. Goy suggests prioritizing plant-based proteins, such as lentils, beans, tofu and salmon. Read and processed meats, including bacon, sausage and deli meats, are red flags. The World Health Organization deemed processed meats as Group 1 carcinogens.
Related: ‘I’m an Oncology Dietitian—Here Are the 5 Foods I Always Have in My Kitchen’
6 Expert-Backed Tips for Safer CookingOnce you have your grocery list set, you'll want to figure out how to prepare the food. Dr. Bilchik shares some strategies you can use that won't raise your cancer risk and can help with nutrient retention, including:
- Steaming and poaching to preserve vitamins and antioxidant compounds, promote digestibility and nix HCA and PAH formation.
- Baking and gently roasting vegetables and lean proteins at lower, controlled oven temperatures helps avoid HCA/PAH-generating smoke and direct flame.
- Stir‑frying/quick sautéing with minimal oil to shorten cooking time (score!) and preserve nutrients and texture.
- Slow‑cooking at lower temperatures for tender, easy‑to‑swallow dishes (Dr. Bilchik adds that these dishes are go-to options for chemotherapy patients experiencing mucositis, taste changes, and fatigue.)
- Marinating with acids (lemon, vinegar, yogurt) and herbs when grilling to reduce harmful compound formation.
- Use olive or canola oil and season with herbs, garlic, citrus and spices instead of relying on butter and processed sauces.
And if something gets charred while you're playing around with new cooking methods in the kitchen? Just scrape it off and try again.

Chick-fil-A's latest menu test has customers talking.
Fans are eager to get their hands on two of the fast food chain's limited-time sandwiches, but there's just one problem—the menu items are being exclusively tested in only two select markets.
However, Instagram blogger Snackolator, who shared news of the Chick-fil-A menu items, personally admitted that they "could be a huge hit!"
So, what's got the internet buzzing? Sriracha Swirl Toast Buns.

According to the mouthwatering description, the sandwich features a "freshly breaded Original Chicken filet served on Sriracha Swirl Toast with lettuce, tomato, seasoned avocado mash and strips of hardwood smoked bacon, and cayenne ranch sauce on the side for an extra kick."
It comes in three options—original, grilled and spicy.

The Sweet Chili Lime Crunch Sandwich is said to boast "freshly breaded Original Chicken filet on a toasted, buttered white bun, topped with a Ginger Lime Cool Crunch—made with cabbage, kale and ginger lime dressing—and drizzled with sweet chili sauce for a sweet and spicy finish," per QSR.
