'90s Rock Band Is Suddenly Climbing the Charts After 20 Years
More than 20 years after its last major Billboard chart appearance, Sublime is back on the charts with a brand-new album.
The legendary Long Beach, California ska-punk band has returned to the spotlight as its latest release, Until the Sun Explodes, debuts at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. The achievement marks a major comeback for the group, whose last charting album appearance came in 2006.
The new album is a fresh entry on the chart, arriving at No. 19 in its first week. At the same time, Sublime's iconic self-titled 1996 album continues to show staying power, sitting at No. 88 on the Billboard 200 and extending its chart run to 287 weeks.
The chart success comes just weeks after the release of Until the Sun Explodes, the band's fourth studio album and its first full-length record under the Sublime name in 30 years.

Released on June 12, Until the Sun Explodes reunites original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh while introducing Jakob Nowell, the son of late frontman Bradley Nowell, as the band's lead vocalist and guitarist.
Bradley Nowell died from a heroin overdose in 1996, shortly before Sublime's self-titled album was released. That record later became the band's commercial breakthrough and produced enduring hits including "What I Got," "Santeria," "Wrong Way" and "Doin' Time."
Jakob, who was only a baby when his father died, now leads the group into a new era.
The 22-track album was produced during the band's reunion period and serves as both a continuation of Sublime's legacy and a tribute to Bradley Nowell's influence.
The album arrives with several new songs that helped build anticipation before its release.
"Ensenada," one of the record's lead singles, became a standout track and reached No. 1 on radio charts before the full album arrived. The song showcases the blend of ska-punk, reggae and hip-hop influences that made Sublime famous during the 1990s.
Other tracks include "Can't Miss You," "Favorite Song," "F.T.R." and the title track "Until the Sun Explodes."
The project also features guest appearances from several well-known artists, including Fidlar's Zac Carper on "Backwards," H.R. on "Trey's Song," G. Love & Special Sauce on "Come Correct" and Pennywise on "247-369."
Founded in 1988, Sublime became one of the most influential bands of the ska-punk movement. Although the group originally disbanded following Bradley Nowell's death, its music continued to attract new generations of listeners.
Now, three decades after the release of its breakthrough album and 20 years after its last significant chart appearance, Sublime has once again found a place on the Billboard charts.

Country Music's Most Storied Stage Could Soon Have a New Owner
One of the most historic music venues in the United States could soon be changing hands, although nothing concrete has happened yet. The Grand Ole Opry, the stage founded in 1925 in Nashville, Tennessee, could potentially be sold to a new owner, according to new reports.
Ryman Hospitality Properties (RHP), which is currently the major shareholder of the Grand Ole Opry, is exploring sale opportunities.
Colin Reed, Executive Chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties, said in a statement to NewsChannel 5, "With the rise in global popularity of country music and the increasing demand for live experiences, we have received inbound interest from a range of organizations seeking to partner with our entertainment business."
Because of the interest, RHP decided to work with Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC to evaluate any possible deals. Reed noted, "We expect to play an integral role in the continued growth of OEG irrespective of any strategic partnerships being considered."
The statement also made it clear that no deal has been made, and in the end, a sale might not happen.
Reed added, "We are incredibly proud of our OEG business and of our role as stewards of these historic and iconic brands, which are deeply important to the country music community and the markets we serve. We remain focused on bringing artists and audiences together through iconic live entertainment experiences."

2000s Post-Metal Band Announces First Album in 4 Years
It’s been four years since Russian Circles released a new album. But that will all change this summer, as the instrumental post-rock and post-metal band have just announced their newest record.
Nine, a seven-track project and Russian Circles’ ninth studio album, will arrive Aug. 28 via Sargent House.

Formed in Chicago in 2004, Russian Circles is rooted in Midwest, post-rock, and motorik influences, with the amalgamation creating a sound and genre all their own. Fans are drawn to the band’s cinematic blend of metal and rock, defined by driving riffs and soaring melodies.
“When we first started, we had no idea we’d be doing this forever," guitarist Mike Sullivan said in an Audiotree video. "It’s still a trip to us. It isn’t lost on us that we’re in the game still, for being a loud, aggressive, instrumental, repetitive rock band. That is mind-blowing to us.”
The trio — completed by drummer Dave Turncrantz, and bassist/keyboardist Brian Cook — is scattered across the country but remain firmly committed to keeping the music a priority.
"The music we make is a collective process of reconciliation, navigation, and reflection upon aging both as individuals and as a creative entity,” they said, via Blabbermouth. “Life has created very real distances between us, but the band continues to be at the center, and this creative collaboration is a way of charting the passage of time while also giving us a reason to look to the future."
Russian Circles will head out on tour this fall, hitting pit stops across the country and Canada. Tickets go on sale this Friday, 10 a.m. local time. Tour dates and ticket information can be found here.

Danielle Reyes is addressing rumors she was cast on Big Brother 28.
Leading up to the season's premiere next month, eagle-eyed fans noticed the reality star had set her Instagram to private and paused her Cameo account.
On Wednesday, June 24, Reyes broke her silence on rumors she's playing the game for the 3rd time via a video posted to X.
"First and foremost, I'm working. I'm not doing Big Brother 28," Reyes said while wearing a Big Brother: All-Stars hat. " I know, I know, I know, and I appreciate you guys hoping, but I haven't been contacted by the producers."
"I am excited that this season's gonna be the 1000th episode of Big [Brother]. How exciting is that?" she continued. "I haven't been invited to do anything for this, so you guys most likely won't see me. So I just want to share that with you, that I'm not gonna be on the season, and just squash some rumors."
"You guys know, I would never lie about something like that," she concluded while smirking at the camera.

In the replies, fans were still not convinced that Reyes wasn't making an appearance on the next season.

Dolly Parton Makes Unexpected Appearance Just Weeks After Canceling Las Vegas Residency
Dolly Parton wasn't supposed to be there.
Promotional materials for the grand opening had said the country icon would skip the public festivities at her new travel stop. Then, at 2 p.m. on June 24, she walked up in her signature stilettos and cut the ribbon herself.
So why the surprise? Parton couldn't resist a little fun at a rival's expense. "I couldn't leave it to beavers," she joked, a wink at the cartoon beaver that fronts mega-chain Buc-ee's, before adding that she had to throw her scrawny little self in there.
The moment carried extra weight. Parton canceled her Las Vegas residency in early May over health issues, telling fans her immune and digestive systems had fallen out of balance but that her conditions were treatable. "I'm responding really well to meds and treatments and I'm improving every day," she said at the time.
Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop sits at Exit 22 off Interstate 65 in Cornersville, Tennessee. The rebranded flagship blends fuel, food, shopping and live music with the kind of down-home Tennessee hospitality Parton has built her whole brand on. West Wilson Breaks Silence on Rumored 'Summer House' Exit
West Wilson is officially leaving Summer House.
Last week, TMZ reported that the sports journalist was not set to return for season 11 of the Bravo reality series, which is set to begin filming over the 4th of July weekend.
Wilson finally confirmed the news on Wednesday, June 24 while appearing on The Broadcast Boys’ Instagram breakdown of the Summer House scandal involving him and Amanda Batula.
“I wanted to tell it on my own but that [exit rumor] is true,” Wilson said in the video. “In [Bravo’s] defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer."
Though it looks like Wilson will no longer be apart of the main cast, insiders who spoke to TMZ said that the door isn’t completely closed, and it’s possible he could come in for a cameo at some point during the season.

The reality star's exit follows a turbulent end to season 10 after Wilson and Batularevealed their romantic relationship in March, much to the dismay of Batula’s ex-husband, Kyle Cooke, and former friend Ciara Miller, who previously dated Wilson in 2023.
Cooke and Miller previously considered Batula and Wilson among their closest friends, respectively. The conclusion of season 10 has centered on the cast grappling with the couple’s relationship, which many viewed as a betrayal, and the subsequent fallout as their relationship timeline was called into question.
Wilson first joined the cast for season 8 which filmed in summer 2023, and his relationship with Miller was one of his main storylines on the show.

Clay Aiken Says Kelly Ripa Interview Turned 'Cold' Before the 'Most Catastrophic Week' of His Life
Nearly 20 years after one of daytime television's most talked-about on-air moments, Clay Aiken is finally sharing his side of the story.
Appearing on the Hollywood Raw podcast on Tuesday, June 24, the former American Idol runner-up reflected on the infamous 2006 incident in which he briefly placed his hand over Kelly Ripa's mouth while guest co-hosting Live with Regis and Kelly.
Asked whether the pair had ever made amends, Aiken, 47, revealed there still hasn't been much of a reunion. "No," he said. "I didn't have the problem."
Looking back, Aiken admitted the fallout was far more difficult than many people probably realized. "That was probably the most catastrophic week of my life, to be honest with you," he said. "No one would remember but me because I was the one with the scars."
Aiken explained that he had been auditioning as a potential television host at the time and simply wanted the opportunity to participate in the interviews. "I'm on the show because I wanted to show them I can handle this myself... I could host something, and I wasn't getting to talk," he recalled. "Like, there were cue cards. They had my name on them, and... I tried to be funny and I did what I did, which was incredibly innocent."
He said the atmosphere in the studio changed immediately afterward, leaving him convinced he had genuinely upset Ripa. "I felt bad and I was really worried that I had upset her 'cause it's very cold, very cold in the audience," he said.

The situation only escalated after Ripa and Regis Philbin revisited the incident on-air days later, eventually turning it into one of entertainment's biggest stories at the time. As the backlash grew, Aiken said he sought advice from veteran journalist Diane Sawyer after worrying he had genuinely upset Ripa.
At first, Sawyer told him not to send flowers, hoping the controversy would simply blow over. But after the story continued to dominate headlines—and Aiken even poked fun at it with Tori Spelling during the American Music Awards—Sawyer changed her advice.
Aiken ultimately sent Ripa flowers and said she later called to thank him and apologized for how much the situation had escalated. Although she invited him back on the show, Aiken said another appearance never happened, and the pair have rarely spoken since.
These days, Aiken is focused on a new chapter. Earlier this year, he released his first original single in 18 years, "Rewind," and said he's hoping to return to touring now that his son is nearly 18.
Multiple Planes Grounded After Cracks Were Found in Wings
Earlier this week, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued an emergency airworthiness directive (AD) regarding the structural integrity of wing spars on 16 Airbus A380 aircraft operated by Emirates and Qantas.
The planes had been inspected earlier this year following a broader December 2025 AD regarding the susceptibility of the entire Airbus A380 fleet to “hydrogen embrittlement.” Hydrogen embrittlement can result from prolonged storage, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic, and may cause cracks in key components.
“Following the review of the results of those inspections, it has been determined that the cracks found on certain aeroplanes could reduce the structural integrity of the wing,” said the EASA in its June 22 AD.
Emirates and Qantas are required to coordinate an additional, more detailed inspection of the 16 aircraft included in the EASA mandate. Those aircraft were divided into two groups: five planes operated by Emirates that must be evaluated before their next passenger flight, and 11, including one flown by Qantas, that should be inspected within their next 25 flight cycles, or 13 flights total. If any discrepancy is found by the airlines, they must contact Airbus for instructions on how to repair the aircraft and on what timeline.
This isn’t the first time that Airbus has had to address a wing crack issue on the A380 fleet. In 2012, the EASA issued an AD regarding a propensity for cracks in the structural components that connect the wing rib to the wing skin. The issue was caused by a flaw in the manufacturing process and resulted in €105m in repairs by Airbus, although grounding for inspection and repairs primarily impacted Emirates, as well as Singapore Airlines.
The Airbus A380 was introduced to the market in 2005 as the world's largest passenger aircraft, a competitor to the Boeing 747, designed for long-haul routes, with two decks and four engines. Emirates was the biggest customer, purchasing 123 A380S over 14 years, many configured with private first-class suites, lay-flat seats, and other luxury amenities.

The repairs made in coordination with Airbus aren't the first, or even the most expensive, upgrades Emirates has made to its A380S. The airline announced an ambitious multi-billion-dollar retrofit campaign in 2021, and the first A380 to complete the program made its inaugural flight from Dubai to London in 2023. In April of this year, Emirates also debuted Starlink WiFi on its A380 planes.
Neither Emirates nor Qantas has announced any flight cancellations as a result of the most recent inspections.
Just last month, Emirates began making changes to several routes between the airline's hub in Dubai and Beijing, Copenhagen, London Gatwick, Manchester, Munich, Osaka, Perth, Václav and Washington Dulles. Those adjustments include service frequency and swapping out A380S for Boeing aircraft and other options within Emirates' fleet. As for Qantas, the airline stated that its A380 was already grounded for routine "heavy maintenance," and that the additional inspection will not affect service.
’70s Rock Guitarist Announces First Regional Tour in 20 Years
Richard Bishop, the co-founder of the 1970s rock band Sun City Girls and an acclaimed soloist and composer, is officially returning to Australia for a tour after over two decades away. The exciting news was announced on June 23, and Australian fans can't get enough.
For the first time in 20 years, Bishop, who goes by "Sir Richard Bishop," will be back in Australia for four tour dates, starting on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Trash Cult record store in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. Next, he'll be at The Curtain in Melbourne on Oct. 22, followed by Marrickville Bowlo in Sydney on Oct. 23, and Season Three in Brisbane on Oct. 24.
Bishop and the Australian touring company Solitary Count shared the exciting news on social media. The announcement praised Bishop's musical talent, saying, "Renowned for performances that balance intricate composition with fearless spontaneity, Bishop remains one of the most restless and original voices in underground music."
"No two shows are alike, each unfolding as its own exploration of sound, place and possibility," the statement went on. The tour will follow the release of Bishop's new album, Hillbilly Erotica, on July 31.

The guitarist has an extensive discography from his decades in the music industry as a soloist, with a few of his other albums including Elektronika Demonika, The Freak of Araby, and The Unrock Tapes. Bishop is also very well-known for his band Sun City Girls, which he founded with his brother Alan and the late Charles Gocher in the 1970s. The group stayed together until 2007, disbanding after Gocher's death.

'The Wire' Star Bobby J. Brown’s Official Cause of Death Revealed Following Fire
Months after Bobby J. Brown was caught in a barn fire, his cause of death has been confirmed.
The actor died on February 24 at 62 years old. Earlier this year, TMZ reported that Brown was trying to jump-start a vehicle in Maryland when the barn was engulfed in flames. The outlet said he asked a family member for a fire extinguisher, and his wife, Arlene, received severe burns in an attempt to save him.
According to an autopsy and toxicology report obtained byUs Weekly from the Maryland Chief Medical Examiner, The Wire star “had been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to death,” and the postmortem toxicology testing for drugs was negative. His carbon monoxide level was at 71 percent in his blood.
The report added that Jones suffered “fourth-degree burns” with “a few brown hairs on the scalp, but the vast majority were singed off.”
He also experienced “thermal fractures of the ankles” and his skin was “absent from the left chest, a portion of the left arm and portions of the lower extremities.”
Ultimately, Brown’s cause of death was ruled diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation, and determined to be an accident.
The character actor was known for his roles in The Wire, The Corner, We Own This City, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Homicide: Life on the Street.
In February, a representative for Brown shared a statement about the actor withUs Weekly.
“Bobby J. Brown was a rare soul who brought a deep sense of humanity to every role he played,” they wrote. “While many knew him for his strength as a champion boxer and his powerful screen presence, we knew him as a dedicated professional and a kind-hearted individual.”
The statement continued, “He was a true joy to represent, and he will be missed by everyone at the agency. Our hearts go out to his family, and we ask for their privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”

“I needed pounding beats to make the music feel the way I feel it,” Shatner said, per the outlet. "The drums drive the emotion. They create the urgency, the excitement, the danger. Heavy metal should hit you in the chest and move your soul at the same time."
Drummers from Black Sabbath, Vanilla Fudge, Blue Öyster Cult, Danzig, and Kings of Thrash are also present on the album, produced by a team led by L.A. Guns’ Adam Hamilton and Cleopatra Records’ Brian Perera. Derek Hughes, Marcus Nand, and JurgenEngler of Die Krupps round out the team.
“Metal has always been a place where imagination gets loud,” Shatner said in a statement. “This album is a gathering of forces—each artist bringing their fire, their precision, their chaos. I chose them because they have something to say, and because metal demands honesty.”

'How I Met Your Mother' Actress Justene Alpert Opens Up About Terminating Pregnancy After Rare Diagnosis
Justene Alpert terminated her pregnancy in December after learning that her unborn baby had a “rare genetic disease."
The actress, recognized for her roles in shows such as 9-1-1, How I Met Your Mother, and Rescue: HI-Surf, took to Instagram on Monday, June 22, to speak about her experience.
“We didn't want to have to make this decision,” she wrote. “No mom or dad should ever have to be put in this place. The shame and guilt is unfair. Having to do this is something that is rarely spoken of and seems to not have the same kind of empathy as other situations. It's the worst pain and many suffer silently out of fear of being judged or simply misunderstood.”
Alpert shared that she was in her second trimester of pregnancy before she received the news. The actress and her husband, Mason Trueblood, were just starting to tell friends about family that they were expecting.
The 36-year-old spoke to a specialist who told her she’d be “high risk" if she didn’t terminate the pregnancy, adding that the baby would not make it to term.
On December 29, the actress wrote she “had to say ‘goodbye' to our son.”
Alpert ended the post with a message to him, "I loved you then, I love you now and I will love you forever," she wrote.
In the caption of the post, she wrote about why she decided to publicly share her experience.
“I’m sharing this for the woman who may be in the situation I was in not long ago,” she wrote. “The one who just had her heart shattered. The one who is frantically looking for a reason why. For a result. For a fix. For an explanation. For a friend. I’m sharing to let her know one simple thing that I hope can offer her so much comfort…’you are not alone.’”

While his Love Island USA experience may be over, Casa Amor boy Kyle Greene didn’t leave the drama on the Island. Upon settling back in at home, the former Islander is addressing rumors his ex-girlfriend posted head-on.
Prior to Greene’s appearance on Love Island USA, Greene’s ex-girlfriend posted to her Instagram story discussing the two’s relationship.
She shared, “If everyone didn’t already know, Kyle Greene, my ex since a month ago, that I live with, who I was with for 3.5 years, is the new bombshell on Love Island tonight, so please don’t text me about it,” in a now-deleted Instagram story.
The story continued to post a photo of the two of them together, alleging, “and btw just so everyone knows this was us two days before he went on LOL. Told me he moved to Chicago to make some money so he can be better and get his ‘family back.’”
Her last story stated, “I’ve been paying his rent for 6 months because he didn’t have money and said he was going to work in Chicago to make me back, and he goes on a dating show. Like you don’t have a job. Anyone wanna take any guesses as to what he’s gonna say [about] this?”
Now, Greene is sharing his side of the story. “I just wanted to clear some things up,” he explained in a video he posted to his personal Instagram account.
He shared that his ex was truthful about the time they were together. “We were together for three and a half years,” he said.
But that’s where Greene's stories differ, “We did break up about 4 or 5 months ago,” he said.
Greene shared that this was due to various factors in their relationship. “It wasn't going quite the way that she and I wanted it to go. That's just how relationships go sometimes, and we did end up breaking up, due to her breaking up with me.”
He shared that they were living together, but “it wasn’t really working out,” so he moved out shortly after they broke up.
Regarding moving to Chicago, Greene says he did move there, but he’s been there for a while. That was when he was approached by Love Island USA production to join Season 8.
The Casa Amor boy added, “Because I wasn't in a relationship anymore, I decided that I couldn't pass up on the opportunity, and I decided to pursue that.”
Greene stated he is now just trying to adjust to life post-Love Island USA and get back to his new normal.

1964 No. 1 Classic Hit, Originally a Flop, Became a Beloved Live Duet Featuring 'Queen of Rock' 17 Years Later
Any classic rock fan can tell you that Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty made beautiful music together, but not everybody knows that "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" wasn't their only hit duet (even if it was their most successful).
In 1981, Nicks (who was deemed the "Reigning Queen of Rock and Roll" by Rolling Stone that year) joined Petty and the Heartbreakers onstage at the Forum in Los Angeles to perform a cover of the '60s classic, "Needles and Pins." The song was later released on Petty's first official live album, 1985's Pack Up the Plantation: Live!, per Ultimate Classic Rock.
While "Needles and Pins" didn't have the same chart success as the aforementioned "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" (which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100), it did make it all the way to #17 on the U.S. Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart in 1986 and quickly became a fan-favorite tune. But 17 years before that duet at the Forum, another musical act took the song all the way to #1 in the U.K.
Originally written by Sonny Bono and Jack Nitzsche, "Needles and Pins" was first recorded by Jackie DeShannon in 1963. Unfortunately, her version of the song didn't climb any higher than #84 on the Hot 100.
In a Songfacts interview, DeShannon blamed the song's lack of success on her record company's unsatisfactory marketing campaign.
"For instance, 'Needles and Pins' was Top 5 in Detroit, Top 5 in Chicago, and Top 5 in every city it was played in," she recalled. "However, unless you're coordinated across the country and the song hits the charts at the same time, you can't get the big leaps. My record didn't have that, because it would be going down in Chicago while it was going up in some other city. So that was a problem."
Next, the song fell into the hands of English rock band the Searchers, part of the Merseybeat scene. The group heard singer Cliff Bennett perform "Needles and Pins" at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany, and decided it should be their next single. Released in January 1964, the Searchers' take on "Needles and Pins" didn't just top the charts in the U.K., it peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S.
Like the Beatles just a few months earlier, the Searchers made music history when they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show in April, 1964, where they brought "Needles and Pins" into the homes of music lovers all over the country.
In between the Searchers and Petty/Nicks, yet another notable band covered the song: In 1978, the Ramones put their own infectious spin on "Needles and Pins," which was released on their fourth studio album, Road to Ruin.
