2001 Pop Rock Hit Has One of the ‘Greatest Choruses of the 21st Century’
Originally written when she was just 15-years-old, "Everywhere" by Michelle Branch is a millennial pop rock staple. The song is such a 2000s anthem, Billboard ranked it and its chorus among the greatest of the 21st century.
"Everywhere" was among the tracks that solidified Branch a record deal with Maverick Records in July of 2000. Branch had originally written the song to be more of a soft-rock, love song, however producer John Shanks encouraged her to make it more up-tempo and pop-rock in its style, and had Branch raise the key and told her to sing "as vigorously" as she could.
"Everywhere" as we know it today was released to contemporary hit radio in July of 2001, just eight days before Branch's 18th birthday.
Critics raved about the song with Billboard calling the track "shot of tequila" compared to similar songs of the time. Multiple reviews compared Branch's voice and style to that of Alanis Morrisette. AllMusic called "Everywhere," "a lively and heartfelt song with electric-guitar power chords, spirited vocal delivery, and catchy chorus."
When discussing the song and its inspiration, Branch commented on how she was intentionally vague with the lyrics because she prefers when people can inject their own experiences into the music, rather than look at her (or a songwriter's) own. She also noted how she has probably written better hooks and refrains since, but nonetheless she remains proud of her work on "Everywhere."
When ranking the track among the best choruses of the 21st century, Billboard noted how "Everywhere" marked the end of 1990s angst and ushered in a new vibe for pop-rock, specifically amongst female vocalists. The publication credited Branch with inspiring the likes of Haley Williams, Kelly Clarkson, and Sara Bareilles.
The Washington Post also gave credit to the song and its nostalgia factor for millennials in 2022 writing:
"['Everywhere'] transport[s] a significant portion of the population back to the simpler times of watching MTV after school, dramatic AIM away messages and piling friends into a car fresh off getting a driver's license and cranking up the radio."
Over the last 25 years, "Everywhere" has proven to hold its own, taking us right back to where we were the first time we heard that iconic refrain.

1973 Timeless Classic, Inspired by One of the ‘Best Movies’ of All Time, Became a Soft Rock Anthem
The yellow brick road has led generations of movie fans to the Emerald City. In 1973, it also inspired one of rock's greatest songs.
When Elton John released "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," the sweeping ballad quickly became one of the standout tracks from the landmark album of the same name. Inspired by the enduring imagery of The Wizard of Oz, widely recognized as one of the greatest films ever made and included on Rotten Tomatoes' list of the best movies of all time, the song became one of Elton John's signature recordings and a defining anthem of the soft rock era.
Its inspiration came from one of cinema's most iconic journeys.
Written by longtime songwriting partners Elton John and Bernie Taupin, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" borrowed the famous road from the 1939 classic not as a literal reference, but as a metaphor. Rather than longing for the glamour and promise of the Emerald City, the narrator chooses to leave behind wealth, fame and excess in search of a simpler, more authentic life. The familiar imagery from The Wizard of Oz gave Taupin the perfect framework for exploring themes of identity, ambition and returning to one's roots.
"It's been said many times, but Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is a cinematic album," John told Rolling Stone in 2014. "The lyrics to the title track do say that I want to leave Oz and get back to the farm. I think that’s still my M.O. these days. I don't mind getting out there and doing what everybody else was doing, but I always had to have an escape hatch."
Released as the second single from the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album, the song became another major success for Elton John, reaching the Top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic. Its lush orchestration, heartfelt lyrics and Elton John's soaring vocal performance helped establish it as one of the defining soft rock ballads of the decade.
The song also became the centerpiece of one of the most celebrated albums of Elton John's career. Released in 1973, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road produced a remarkable string of classics, including "Bennie and the Jets," "Candle in the Wind," "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" and "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding." The double album is widely regarded as Elton John's masterpiece and remains one of the best-selling records of all time.
"I'm not someone who normally looks back, I'm not someone who gets nostalgic, but I had to listen to this album because I have to do interviews about it," John said in an interview with Today for the album's 40th anniversary. "It made me very emotional. I cried a little at it, because it reminded me of a time when I was very innocent."
Over the decades, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" has become a staple of Elton John’s live performances, with audiences around the world embracing its timeless message. Its reflective lyrics and sweeping melody have also made it one of the defining soft rock anthems of the 1970s, continuing to receive regular airplay on classic hits and adult contemporary radio.
"My records don't sell as much as they used to by a long way, but I'm not really interested in that any more," John told BBC. "I don't have to chase the charts any more, I can just do what I like and that's a tremendous asset. I've been successful and I have the freedom not to care about that any more."
More than 50 years after its release, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" remains one of Elton John's greatest achievements. Inspired by one of the most beloved films in history, the song transformed a familiar cinematic image into a universal reflection on finding the courage to choose one's own path, ensuring its place as one of the timeless classics of the rock era.

I Tried a Viral Salmon Sushi Bake, and It Completely Changed Homemade Sushi Night
Some food trends explode across social media and disappear just as quickly. Others stick around because they're genuinely worth making. After seeing salmon sushi bakes repeatedly pop up on social media and countless recipe blogs, I finally decided to find out whether this viral dish actually deserved all the attention.
As someone who enjoys homemade sushi, I was immediately intrigued by the promise of getting those familiar flavors without spending hours rolling individual pieces. (Though I will absolutely do it from time to time.) Traditional sushi can be rewarding to make, but it's also a project that requires patience, precision and plenty of cleanup. The idea of achieving a similar experience in a simple casserole dish sounded almost too good to be true.
What ultimately convinced me to try it was the overwhelming number of people claiming it had become part of their regular meal rotation. Whenever a recipe inspires that level of devotion, I can't help but be curious. Was this just another internet food craze, or had home cooks discovered a genuinely easier way to enjoy sushi-inspired flavors?
I put the viral recipe to the test in my own kitchen to see if it lived up to the hype—and whether it could really compete with a traditional homemade sushi night.

What Is a Salmon Sushi Bake, Exactly? If you've spent any time on TikTok, Instagram or food blogs over the last few years, you've probably come across the viral salmon sushi bake. This casserole-style dish takes all the flavors and components of a salmon sushi roll and transforms them into a layered, shareable bake that's much easier to prepare than traditional sushi.
Instead of rolling individual pieces by hand, a sushi bake layers seasoned sushi rice in a baking dish, tops it with a creamy seafood mixture and finishes everything with flavorful garnishes. The result is a warm, comforting dish that delivers the same sweet, savory, spicy and umami-packed flavors you'd expect from your favorite sushi roll.
For my version, I followed the popular recipe from food blogger Christian Ou of One Happy Bite, who deserves full credit for the original recipe and technique that inspired this bake.

Ingredients NeededFollowing Ou's recipe, you'll need:
- Sushi rice
- Seasoned rice vinegar
- Sugar
- Salt
- Salmon fillets
- Imitation crab meat
- Cream cheese
- Kewpie mayonnaise
- Sriracha or Sriracha mayo
- Furikake seasoning
- Green onions
- Sesame seeds
- Nori sheets or seaweed snacks for serving, if desired
One shortcut I took was using frozen sushi rice, simply for time purposes. Rather than cooking rice from scratch, I steamed the frozen rice in the microwave according to the package directions. It saved time and worked surprisingly well. However, if you'd like to make it from scratch, you can absolutely follow the instructions for preparing sushi rice from scratch.

How To Make a Salmon Sushi BakeOne of the things I appreciated most about this recipe was how straightforward the process was.
First, prepare the sushi rice. If you're cooking it from scratch, rinse and cook the rice according to the package directions, then season it with a mixture of rice vinegar, sugar and salt. I used frozen sushi rice, so I simply steamed it in the microwave before seasoning it.
Next, transfer the rice into a baking dish and spread it into an even layer. Sprinkle a generous amount of furikake seasoning over the top. This creates the flavorful foundation of the dish and adds an incredible savory depth that makes sushi bakes so addictive.

Meanwhile, cook the salmon until fully done. Once it has cooled slightly, flake it into bite-sized pieces.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked salmon with shredded imitation crab, softened cream cheese, Kewpie mayonnaise and sriracha. Stir everything together until well incorporated. This mixture becomes rich, creamy, spicy and packed with flavor.
Spread the seafood mixture evenly over the rice layer. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or until everything is heated through and slightly golden on top.

Once the bake comes out of the oven, it's time for the fun part: toppings. I finished mine with additional furikake seasoning, sesame seeds, generous drizzles of extra sriracha mayo and plenty of sliced green onions.
Serve warm with sheets of nori or seaweed snacks for scooping and wrapping, just like you would with sushi.

Salmon Sushi Bake: My Honest ReviewCourtesy Julie Andrews
This recipe completely lived up to the hype. The biggest selling point for me was how easy it was. I've made homemade sushi rolls before, and while they're delicious, rolling individual pieces can be tedious and time-consuming. This sushi bake delivers nearly identical flavors with a fraction of the effort.
The real genius of the recipe is the seafood mixture. Combining the cooked salmon and imitation crab with cream cheese and spicy sriracha mayo creates an incredibly rich, creamy topping that feels indulgent without being overwhelming.
Every bite had tender chunks of seafood coated in a velvety, spicy sauce. That richness paired perfectly with the sticky sushi rice underneath, which brings subtle sweetness, tanginess and just enough saltiness to balance everything out.
The furikake seasoning was another standout component. It adds layers of umami, nuttiness and savory flavor that elevate the entire dish. Without it, the bake would still be good, but furikake is what pushes it into can't-stop-eating-it territory.
The toppings also played a major role in the final result. The sesame seeds added a subtle crunch, the extra furikake intensified the savory notes and the sriracha mayo delivered another layer of creamy heat. An important addition, though, was the green onion. The bright, crisp freshness cut through the richness and brought balance to every bite.
Texture-wise, this dish was a huge success. You get creamy seafood, fluffy sticky rice, crunchy toppings and crisp seaweed all working together in a single bite. It's a combination that keeps things interesting from the first serving to the last.
Perhaps most impressive is how closely it resembles the flavor of a classic salmon sushi roll. For a baked dish, it comes impressively close to recreating the eating experience of a restaurant-style spicy salmon roll.
I had plenty of the salmon sushi bake left over, so I covered it and stored it in the refrigerator, and was delighted with how delicious it was served cold the next day. I actually enjoyed it this way better than hot out of the oven, though both were delicious. Honestly, who doesn't love a dish you can eat straight out of the fridge throughout the week?

Final TakeawaysCourtesy Julie Andrews
The viral salmon sushi bake trend is popular for a reason. It captures everything people love about sushi rolls while removing the most labor-intensive part of the process.
Ou's recipe was easy to follow, beginner-friendly and produced fantastic results. Even with my shortcut of using frozen sushi rice, the final dish tasted restaurant-worthy.
The creamy salmon and imitation crab mixture, rich cream cheese, spicy sriracha mayo, seasoned sushi rice and flavorful furikake all work together beautifully. Add fresh green onions, sesame seeds and extra sauce on top, and you have a dish that's packed with bold flavor and satisfying texture.
Whether you serve it straight from the baking dish or scoop portions into seaweed wraps, this is a recipe I would happily make again. For anyone who loves salmon rolls but doesn't want to spend time rolling individual pieces, this sushi bake offers all the flavor with far less effort.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ Reece Weaver Shocks Fans and Retires: Why She Left and What Kelli Finglass Has To Say About It
Netflix’s hit show, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, took the already-famous sideline dancers to a totally new level. And while the recent rookies seem to enjoy their newfound fame, it looks like fan favorite Reece Weaver won’t return for another season.
Viewers were surprised, if not shocked, when Weaver hung her uniform on the right. As we all know by now, DCC’s who plan on staying with the organization place their uniforms on the left—because left has an ‘e’ like ‘yes.’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 11: (L-R) Reece Weaver, Sophy Laufer, Camille Sturdivant and Charly Barby of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders attend the premiere of Netflix's "America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys" at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood on August 11, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images for Netflix)While fans have enjoyed watching all of the young women go from nervous rookies to confident veterans, Reece has been one cast member who really stood out. The adorably innocent breakout star joined the squad in 2023, making her Netflix debut in Season 1 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders after graduating with a degree in dance from the University of Alabama.
Even though Weaver was only 22 at the time, she married her college beau, Will Allman, in 2024 (two months before her new series premiered). Viewers watched as Weaver and Allman navigated their first few years of marriage together, moving to a new city and starting new jobs. Unlike many other reality TV stars, fame didn’t seem to go to Reece’s head, and the couple thrived in the spotlight.
Why did Reece Weaver leave the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?Fast-forward to Season 3, and Reece makes the almost unbelievable decision to leave DCC. Weaver recently told Netflix’s Tudum, “I’d actually been wrestling with this decision since the start of my third year. My cup was just filled to the absolute brim, and I was in a place—I still am in that same place—of sincere gratitude.”
Reece continued, “With a lot of just prayer and counseling, I just felt led, that I was being called to take a leap of faith.”
Of her final conference with director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Tramell, Weaver said, “I was more worried about how this was going to be taken and received. I didn’t know what their response would be.”
How did Kelli Finglass respond to Reece Weaver leaving DCC?Finglass recently opened up to Us Weekly, sharing, “I wasn’t shocked, and I wasn’t surprised.” She added, “I am happy for Reece. It’s a tough decision. I think it’s the right decision to make it sooner than too late.”
The DCC’s director also said, “She’s got a bright future, whatever path she chooses. We obviously will miss Reece, like we do every cheerleader that retires after three years, four years, five years.”
What will Reece do next? The Netflix star has already moved from Dallas back to her former college town in Alabama. According to Weaver, “There’s been so many brands and organizations that have reached out. I’m really excited to be a little more available for some really cool projects.” As to what those “really cool projects” are, Reece revealed she’s working on a book but didn't say much more.
Michael Scott's Greatest 'The Office' Romance Reveals He Was Never Meant to Be Alone
It’s been more than a decade since The Office aired its final episode, but the NBC mockumentary-style comedy remains one of the most enduring and beloved TV comedies of all time. More than 10 years later, fans are still debating one of the most important questions in the show’s lore: Who was Michael Scott’s (Steve Carell)best love interest? A new ranking answers the question, crowning the No. 1 romance in the Dunder Mifflin regional manager’s long and cringeworthy dating history.
Despite Michael Scott’s never-ending series of awkward comments and tone-deaf moments, the iconic TV middle manager, expertly played by The 40-Year-Old Virgin star Steve Carell, was, at heart, just a guy looking for connection and community. Sure, his social awkwardness made for some of TV’s most hilariously uncomfortable moments. But at the heart of Carell’s portrayal of Michael Scott was a character audiences rooted for. Fans wanted to see Michael Scott end up happy, and he eventually did.
Michael Scott’s Greatest Romance RevealedMichael Scott’s series of romances and dates are legendary, including his turbulent relationship with former boss Jan Levinson (Melora Hardin). But a new ranking names the best of Michael Scott’s relationships, highlighting one of the most talked-about storylines in modern TV history, one that ultimately helped define and redeem one of television’s most beloved leading men.
“Never has there been anyone as childish or as eccentric as the great Michael Scott; at least that's what we thought. But upon Toby's (Paul Lieberstein) farewell, we got to meet the love of Michael's life, Holly Flax, played by Amy Ryan. The two hit it off straight away, telling stupid jokes and making terrible impressions. From there, Michael was so infatuated with Holly that he immediately tried to make a playlist to tell her he loved her.
Sadly, it takes a while for the two to inevitably be together, as Michael decides to help Jan through pregnancy, even though it's not his baby. Holly moves to Nashua, where she meets her future fiancé. Thankfully, the two do end up together, eventually getting engaged, and later in season nine, a season and a half after he left, Michael returns for Dwight's wedding, where it is revealed that he is happily married to Holly, and the two have four kids together.”
Related: 'Star Wars' Quote Ranked the Best Line in Franchise History Started as a Simple Sendoff
Why Holly Flax Was the Perfect MatchChildish, check. Eccentric, check. Awkward, check. Michael Scott was all of those things, but his romantic journey wasn’t just a storyline played for laughs. Michael Scott’s relationships were a central part of The Office and symbolic of the character’s personal growth.
Behind the overbearing boss and the often uncomfortable friend was a man willing to put himself out there. Across multiple seasons, fans watched as the character navigated heartache, rejection, and disappointment. His continued attempts at love helped humanize him, and his emotional journey kept audiences invested in his story.
By the time Michael Scott reunited with Holly, who seemed like his perfect match from their very first awkward joke, audiences were rooting for him to finally find his happily ever after.
Why Fans Still Love This StorylineThe pair’s romance remains one of the highlights of The Office’s long-running story arc and provided a satisfying sense of closure as audiences said goodbye to one of television’s favorite characters.
The Office may have aired its final episode more than a decade ago, but the series continues to be a favorite rewatch for fans who relate to its everyday characters and their attempts to navigate life in and out of the workplace. After spending seven seasons watching Michael Scott fumble his way through romance, viewers ultimately discovered a well-intentioned and decent man beneath the awkward exterior.
It makes perfect sense that as the character evolved, so did his ability to find true love. For many fans, there could be no other choice for Michael Scott’s greatest love interest than Amy Ryan’s Holly Flax.
1974 Hit, Over 22 Minutes Long, Became an Ultimate Road Trip Anthem
Given its title and lyrics, it should come as no surprise that the German electronic band Kraftwerk's 1974 hit "Autobahn," off the Autobahn album, is still recognized as an iconic road-trip anthem.
In 2025, Rolling Stone included the 22-minute and 47-second classic on the publication's list of "the 50 best road-trip songs." The publication, which placed the tune at the list's 42nd spot, noted that the song describes enjoying the famous German highway system.
Rolling Stone also reported that the band's lead singer, Ralf Hütter, revealed there's a thematic reason the song is German.
“The German language, like our own rhythms, is more machinelike, more abrupt," said Hütter during a 1975 Rolling Stone magazine interview.
Wolfgang Flür Shared Some Insight Into the Song During the 2009 Documentary, 'Krautrock'In an interview for the 2009 BBC4 Documentary, Krautrock, Kraftwerk's percussionist, Wolfgang Flür, discussed how the creation of the German motorways following the end of World War II inspired the band's hit, "Autobahn." He explained that the highways allowed a sense of freedom and fun, which the band enjoyed firsthand.
"Germany developed more and more after the war. Everything had to be rebuilt. As they built more Autobahns and more Autobahns, and we could drive longer Autobahns and longer and faster and faster and the engines became stronger," said the musician, now 78. "And the cars, they were more beautiful and more beautiful. Young men, which we were in between, could afford, really buy such cars. And we took a car and go. Went just for fun on the Autobahns, 120, 140, 150, that was fun."
He explained that he and his bandmates, which also included Florian Schneider and Klaus Röder, implemented the sounds heard in a fast-moving vehicle for the now-iconic song.
"We opened the window, 'pft, pft, pft, wah, wah, wah,' Or you heard the wind, 'pft, pft, pft.' And we made all of these things music," said Flür while filming the Krautrock documentary.
Country Star's 'Mind-Blowing' 'Banger' Just Earned One of the Year's Biggest Honors
Kacey Musgraves has added another major accolade to her celebrated career.
Billboard has named Musgraves' latest single, "Dry Spell," one of The 50 Best Songs of 2026 So Far, ranking it No. 5 on the publication's midyear list. In its review, Billboard went even further, praising the song's witty lyricism, playful music video and calling it a "perfect single."
The recognition comes after fans spent more than a year waiting for a song like "Dry Spell."
While Musgraves' 2024 album Deeper Well earned widespread critical acclaim for its introspective songwriting, Billboard noted that listeners had been waiting "a lot longer than 'three-hundred and thirty-five days'" for the kind of upbeat, clever country anthem that "Dry Spell" delivers.
"Kacey Musgraves is at it again – well, not it, but making phenomenal, mind-blowing country music ... it is fair to say that fans have been waiting a lot longer than 'three-hundred and thirty-five days' for a banger like 'Dry Spell,'" writes Billboard.
The Western-inspired track is packed with humorous double entendres about the narrator's frustrating love life, including lines about having "ain't nobody's boots under my bed" and "ain't nobody's truck up in my drive." Rather than leaning into heartbreak, Musgraves approaches the subject with her trademark wit, turning loneliness into something both relatable and funny.
Billboard also singled out Musgraves' vocal performance, praising the way she stretches phrases like "real long" and "last time" to emphasize just how over the situation her narrator has become. According to the publication, the song's tongue-in-cheek music video, featuring a suggestive grocery store run, "only adds to the humor of an already perfect single."
The latest honor is another reminder of why Musgraves remains one of country music's most acclaimed artists.
Since breaking through with Same Trailer Different Park, the Texas singer-songwriter has earned multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for Golden Hour. Her ability to blend traditional country influences with thoughtful songwriting has made her one of the genre's most distinctive voices while attracting fans well beyond country music.
Now, "Dry Spell" is earning praise not just from listeners but from critics as well.
Landing in Billboard's top five songs of the year so far places the single alongside some of 2026's biggest releases across every genre, further cementing Musgraves' reputation for consistently delivering songs that resonate with both fans and reviewers.

'Grease' Star Reveals the Strict On-Set Rule the Cast Had to Follow
While filming the 1978 cult classic film, Grease, the cast had some unconventional practices. Almost 50 years later, actress DidiConn has revealed to Peoplewhat it was really like on set.
"What happened, our relationship to each other began to form and it was great," Conn shared. "And it gave us the license to be these crazy high school kids and having fun and being horny or whatever. We just had a wonderful time."
At 74 years old, Conn would’ve been 27 years old when the film was released.
"We did something that for me was unique at the time and now I try to do this on other sets," Conn said. "What happened was most of us were a tad older than the teenagers we were playing. And so, we did a very interesting thing. As soon as we got our makeup on, our hair, whatever, we became the characters we were playing."
Set in the 1950s, Grease follows a young couple who meet on vacation and are reunited at the same high school. They must overcome their different reputations and social standings to accept each other. It starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
Conn played beauty-school dropout Frenchy in the movie.
"So nobody called me Didi. I was Frenchy," she said. "There was Stockard but that was Rizzo."
Grease went on to become the highest-grossing musical film of its time. The movie musical is responsible for hits such as "You're the One That I Want," "Summer Nights," and "Hopelessly Devoted to You."
All these years later, the cast keeps in touch. Conn shared, "And honestly, at the end when we say we'll always be together, we still are. We're all still friends."
The actress is best known for her roles in Grease 2, Benson, and Shining Time Station. Now, Conn has a new campaign for Laura Geller Beauty.
Guitar Legend, 82, Reveals What Keeps Him Going 60 Years Into His Career
I don't think there's any band out there who have defied the odds of aging more than The Rolling Stones. The band has been going strong since the first days of their career, perpetually selling out arenas and blowing people away with how they never seem to stop. Through hardship, aging, and falling out of the peak of the limelight, the band has not stopped doing what they love, which is extremely commendable.
The band are about to release their twenty-fifth studio album on July 10th, titled "Foreign Tongues." It marks a huge milestone for the band, and they've been making the press rounds to promote the album. Recently, guitarist Keith Richards appeared on the Today Show to talk about life, music, and what keeps him going after all these years.
@todayshowLegendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards says he still gets the thrill on stage when he plays the opening riff of “Start Me Up” or “Satisfaction” to 100,000 wild fans and shares what keeps him going after more than 60 years of making music.
♬ original sound - TODAY Show"That's why you do it, you know, just... you love to get on stage and kick some *ss!" Richards emphatically proclaimed.
The interview went on to discuss how Richards stays motivated and energized, as the man has never really stopped in the entirety of his career. "I just keep going. I feel good as long as I got something to do. You know, especially with these boys at the moment, they're really keeping me on my toes," Richards answered, adding the last bit about fellow bandmembers Mick Jaggerand Ronnie Wood.
When asked if he was going to keep going, Richards gave an answer I think we all expected: "Sure, man! Of Course! What else now? Am I gonna change?"
It goes to show what kind of person it takes to reach the stardom these guys have. It's just a fact of life for the band. There is no existence without music, and there is no self without music. It seems to me that the band tours and continues to record music because that's what they're meant to do. It's who they are. It's in their bones, their blood, and in every ounce of how they live their lives.
Legendary '70s Band Blows Fans Away With Newfound Joy at Concert - 'I Can't Remember Seeing Them So Happy'
For the first time in 11 years, the world has been blessed with the presence of Rush. The band are currently on their first tour of the decade, and it's marking some uncharted ground for them. In 2020, the world lost the band's drummer Neil Peart. He was a phenomenal talent, and one of the best to ever do it.
There was always a big question looming over the band's future without Peart, as he was a near irreplicable talent. His death hung heavy on the group, and seemed to be an impossible obstacle. However, with this new tour the band have found drummer Anika Nilles, and with her they seem to have found joy again as well.
In a new clip from their tour, fans have been captivated by how happy and youthful the band seems, delighting everyone with a love of playing we haven't seen in a long time.

Lee's massive grin is infectious, and speaks to the rejuvenation the band are experiencing in the wake of such a tragedy. There's no doubt that Nilles' presence has been a massive shot in the arm for the group, allowing them to turn back the clock and look like the rock gods of old.
Fans were absolutely blown away by not only how happy the band is, but how energized they are too. Taking to the comments, they shared their disbelief.
"I can’t remember seeing Geddy so happy!!👍👍👍👍"
"Alex and Geddy look so happy in these clips. I’m so glad they did this."
"I can’t skip ANY TikTok I see because I’m just floored that they’re this tight at their age. Absolutely incredible… they’re “lights out!!”🤘🤘🤘"
It's an absolute privilege to have Rush back doing what they do best: absolutely melting audience's faces with virtuoso playing, and making an absolute party out of it. Here's to a successful tour that doesn't stop anytime soon!

Costco shoppers have plenty of reasons to be excited this summer.
The warehouse giant is continuing its expansion plans with nine new locations on the way, including two stores opening their doors this week. The beloved bulk store is pushing toward more than 640 locations across the United States, so clearly, the retailer has no plans to slow down.
Two new Costco stores open this weekThe first wave of openings arrives almost immediately. A new Costco warehouse in Syracuse, Utah, opened on Tuesday, June 24, followed by a new location in Pensacola, Florida, which will open on Wednesday, June 25.
Seven more locations are on the wayIf your city isn't on this week's list, fear not. There may still be good news ahead.
Costco has announced seven additional stores all expected to open in August 2026, according to their website:
- Albany, New York
- Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
- Otsego, Minnesota
- Mansfield, Texas
- Celina, Texas
- Stone Mountain, Georgia
- Lee's Summit, Missouri
USA Today reports that during a May earnings call, Costco executives revealed plans to open approximately 26 warehouses during fiscal year 2026. Looking further ahead, the company expects to add 30 or more new locations annually in future years. They are also set to open a location in Taiwan next month in the city of S Kaohsiung.
Trader Joe's is expanding, tooCostco isn't the only retailer adding new locations this year. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Still Haven't Confirmed a Wedding—But an NYC Permit Fuels Rumors
We're still at the point where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce haven't officially announced wedding plans, but in lieu of all the NYC speculation, we're another step closer to putting the pieces of the puzzle together. While Travis' brother Jason was busy ripping his pants off for the world to see, the rest of us were getting the latest details on when and where we may get to witness the Swift-Kelce union.
According to a report from The New York Times, a permit was filed to close streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 through midday July 4. Winick Productions reportedly requested space for an event accommodating between 500 and 999 guests, while several members of the Kansas City Chiefs have allegedly reserved hotel rooms in Times Square around the same time. Representatives for Swift, Madison Square Garden and the event company declined to comment.

Why Officials Believe Something Big Is ComingWhile the couple has remained silent, city agencies appear to be taking the possibility seriously.
According to The New York Times, even Amtrak police officers who patrol Penn Station beneath Madison Square Garden have reportedly been told to expect a Swift-related event over the July Fourth weekend. One city official briefed on the preparations reportedly said the arena is planning to host wedding festivities on July 3.
The timing would place the celebration in the middle of an already packed period for New York. July Fourth festivities, celebrations surrounding America's 250th birthday and the FIFA World Cup are all expected to draw massive crowds.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently joked about Swift's wedding while discussing the city's busy summer schedule, saying New York was ready to welcome visitors and "excited to welcome the world here."
Apparently, should the event take place in NYC, there will be "historic demand" on NYC's police department given July 4th celebrations as well as the World Cup, according to the city's police commissioner, Jessica Tisch.
How Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Have Become Their Own Major EventWhether or not the wedding rumors prove accurate, the attention surrounding the couple has become a phenomenon all its own.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025, and speculation about their wedding plans has only intensified since then. A previous wave of rumors surrounding Rhode Island never materialized, but reports surrounding Madison Square Garden have continued to gain momentum.
The pair's star power has turned even unconfirmed plans into a citywide conversation. In many ways, the story has become bigger than the venue itself.
Without saying a word publicly, Swift and Kelce have already managed to create something few celebrities can: an event significant enough that New York officials are preparing for it before invitations have even gone out.
Until the couple confirms anything themselves, fans will have to keep watching for clues. But one thing appears certain: New York is already getting ready.

'Dutton Ranch' Renewal Has Fans Begging for the Same Thing in Season 2
As the season 1 finale of Dutton Ranch fast approaches, fans of the hit Taylor Sheridan series can rejoice that more is in store.
It was announced on Wednesday, June 24 that a second season has officially been greenlit, and fans already buzzing online about their hopes for what's to come.
The Yellowstone spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler has been a hit for Paramount+, marking the biggest original series launch in the streamer's history and topping the Nielsen streaming charts in its debut week, according to Variety.
"We're just getting started," reads a joint Instagram post by the Dutton Ranch account and Paramount TV Studios on Wednesday. "#DuttonRanch has been renewed for season 2!"
View this post on InstagramFans certainly seem excited at the news, based on the comments left on Wednesday's post. But more apparent among the comments was an overarching theme, in the form of a shared request the fans have for season 2 of Dutton Ranch — and the beloved characters played by Reilly, 48, and Hauser, 51:
"Please center season 2 more on Beth and Rip instead of making them a subplot in their own show!" wrote one Instagram user, while another person commented, "Seems pretty evident based on these comments that the fans want to see MORE scenes with Beth and Rip together in season 2! Please and thank you. ❤️"
The hit series, which technically serves as a sequel to Yellowstone, holds an impressive 89% average critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which offers the following synopsis:
"Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton gamble everything on a new life in South Texas, but the promise of building a future far from the ghosts of Yellowstone quickly collides with new realities and a rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire."
90s Rock Icon Reveals Most Famous Song was 'Taken Away From Him'
One of the more unique bands to surface out of the '90s rock scene was The Smashing Pumpkins.
Central to the band is Billy Corgan, lead singer, principle songwriter, and the only consistent member throughout the band's life. Corgan has been there for every chapter, whether that was the fiery debut record "Gish," the experimental noisy period with "Machina/The Machines of God," or their most recent release "Zodeon at Crystal Hall," he's been a creative force for the group.
Over the years, he has written a lot of songs under the Smashing Pumpkins name, and recently, Corgan decided to share his favorite songs he's written with the band, and the stories behind them, including the band's most famous track "1979."
@spinEver wondered what some of Billy Corgan's favorite SmashingPumpkins songs are? How about the meaning behind “Disarm”? Agree with his choices? Find the new @lippsservice episode where he discusses all things Pumpkins, Courtney Love, Rush, Nirvana, and so much more at the link in bio. 90s rock
♬ original sound - SPIN - SPINThe list goes as follows: 1979, Pentagrams, Oceania, Disarm, Jelly Belly, and Glass and the Ghost Children. It's a wide smattering over Corgan's career that features early hits, deep cuts, and newer material. Corgan had interesting points about each, starting with 1979.
"I love 1979. It's inarguably one of the best songs I've written...but I feel like that song got taken away from me a long time ago," Corgan stated, talking about how the song's popularity made it feel less like his and more like a song that belonged to the people. "It's a beautiful thing, but I don't feel as personally connected to it because it became somebody else's, and if I didn't play it, it became a problem," he added.
Pentagrams and Oceania are longer tracks that you can tell mean something to Corgan, and feel like vintage moments in later parts of his career. Moving past those, he mentions Disarm, and speaks a bit about how it's about the innate capacity for evil in us all.
Corgan rounds out the list with a couple heavier classics, highlighting the real rock and metal roots of the group. No matter what era the band was in, there was always a wealth of creativity that has always kept me interested in them. "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" is one of my favorite albums ever, and if we're all getting in on choosing favorites, I'll personally submit my 5 favorites from the band: "By Starlight," "I Am One," "Mayonaise," "Luna," and a song written by guitarist James Iha "Take Me Down."

1985 Rock Classic, Once Spent 20 Weeks Charting, Was Written in Two Minutes
Forty-one years ago, iconic rock legend Bruce Springsteen released "I'm on Fire" as a single—a track that became a generational hit despite taking only two minutes to write.
"I'm on Fire" was originally released on June 4, 1984 as the sixth track on his landmark seventh studio album, Born in the U.S.A. Following undeniable listener demand, Springsteen issued it as a standalone single on February 6, 1985.
Just 10 days after its single debut, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart, eventually peaking at No. 6 and becoming one of seven top-10 hits from the multi-Platinum record. In total, the single spent a staggering 20 consecutive weeks on the chart.
Photo of Clarence Clemons and Bruce Springsteen performing on stage circa 1984.Aside from its chart dominance, the track achieved significant commercial triumph. The song went on to sell over 1.5 million copies globally, a testament to both Springsteen's unparalleled industry influence at the time and the overwhelming success of its parent album.
The Composition Process of "I'm on Fire"Written by Springsteen in 1982, "I'm on Fire" was initially intended for his sixth studio album, Nebraska. The piece was ultimately scrapped due to its stark contrast to the rest of that project's stripped-down, folk-driven sound.
When the track was picked back up by Springsteen and his co-producers, it was transformed into something completely new. During the recording process, "I'm on Fire" became one of the first tracks to utilize his signature synth-rock sonics. Its new rockabilly-infused elements fit perfectly with the rest of Born in the U.S.A., beautifully meshing with the album's cohesive, moody atmosphere.
Despite its stunning artistry, it took Springsteen a mere two minutes to pen the song. In a 2024 interview with People Magazine, the rock singer revealed his shock that the track garnered the recognition it did, stating he wasn't even sure it would make the record.
“That was literally a song I wrote in two minutes. Didn’t even think about it. Didn’t think it was ever going to be on a record," Springsteen recalled. "Wrote it in two minutes. And if you go to iTunes now, it’s the No. 1 favorite song out of every song I’ve written. I wrote that in two minutes!”
The single explores the inner thoughts of a narrator fighting insomnia while yearning for a lover who is taken by another man. The track's intense themes of forbidden desire and overwhelming longing resonated deeply with audiences—something it continues to do today.
More than four decades since its initial release, "I'm on Fire" remains one of Springsteen's most impactful tracks. On Spotify alone, the song has garnered over 783 million streams, proving his undeniable ability to touch generations of listeners with his music.
