The Lush Jamaican Hideaway Where James Bond Was Born Celebrates 80 Years of Intrigue
For fans of high-stakes adventure and "quiet luxury" hideaways, there is no address more storied than GoldenEye. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Jamaican estate that served as the creative womb for the world’s most famous spy.
In 1946, Ian Fleming—then a commander in British Naval Intelligence—discovered a 15-acre tropical plot in the quiet port town of Oracabessa Bay. He sketched his dream villa on a desk blotter, dubbed it GoldenEye after a World War II intelligence operation, and spent the next two decades returning every winter to write all 14 of his bestselling James Bond novels.
Today, the property remains a stronghold where the jungle meets the sea, simultaneously private and cinematic. To celebrate eight decades of history, GoldenEye is launching a series of experiences that lean into the author's personal rituals and the property's vibrant natural heritage.

The heart of the celebration takes place at Sha’Been, the property's rooftop lounge. Every Friday night, guests can participate in a "Golden Hour" cocktail session featuring Fleming-era classics. While the Martini (shaken, not stirred) is the obvious headliner, the menu also highlights Blackwell Rum, owned by Chris Blackwell, the visionary founder of Island Records who eventually purchased the estate from the Fleming family. The mood is further set by live Niyabinghi music, a hypnotic blend of African drumming and gospel traditions that provides the authentic heartbeat of Jamaican culture.
Nostalgic travelers may know that 007's name wasn't plucked from thin air. Fleming was an avid birdwatcher and took the moniker from American ornithologist James Bond, author of Birds of the West Indies. In tribute to this legacy, the property is hosting biweekly nature tours to explore its most biodiverse pockets, led by experts like conservation ecologist Ann Sutton, widely known as Jamaica’s "bird whisperer."

For those seeking the ultimate 007 pilgrimage, the property has curated the "Ian Fleming’s GoldenEye at 80" package. This exclusive four-night stay offers a rare look behind the curtain of the author's daily life, including a guided snorkeling tour of Fleming Reef, the exact spot where the author swam every morning before his daily 2,000-word writing session. Guests will also enjoy a 60-minute Brown Sugar Scrub at the field spa and a tour of the original five-bedroom GoldenEye Villa (pending availability), where the desk where Casino Royale and Live and Let Die were penned still sits.
Starting from $3,794, the anniversary experience offers a sophisticated alternative to the crowded mega-resorts of the Caribbean. It is a chance for travelers to see that 80 years later, the spirit of creative sanctuary that Fleming first fell in love with is very much alive.
2014 Underrated Crime Drama Named the Greatest First Season of a Television Show of All Time
True Detective is an anthology crime drama from HBO starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The first season of the series, which is about a pair of police detectives in Louisiana who pursue a serial killer over the course of 17 years, was recently ranked at the top of TV Line's "Best First Seasons of TV Shows."
When speaking about the initial season, Michelle Monaghan, who plays the wife of Harrelson’s character, told Collider, “There are true cliffhangers with every episode. It was the kind of writing that was very existential, so I would read it, and then I would read it again. There are a lot of things that Rust [McConaughey's character] said that were very provocative and very thought-provoking, and that I really wanted to contemplate myself. I just thought, 'Gosh, I have not come across anything like that, ever.'”

Monaghan continued, "It was so interesting to see where these characters went. It spans 17 years, and what I found to be really fascinating is how people change, over the course of 17 years. And then, in the backdrop is this ongoing investigation, and how it changes them and how their relationship with each other changes, throughout that whole entire process. That’s what really intriguing.”
The first season of True Detective won five Emmy Awards and received four Golden Globe nominations. It also won TCA Awards and a BAFTA. The show went on to release a second, third, and fourth season—but they all follow completely different, self-contained stories with a different set of actors. The fifth season is currently in development.
When asked about reprising the role for a future season of the show, McConaughey told Variety, “We nailed that first season. But if it’s a script like that first one, with that fire and originality, I’d do it. And you talk about monologues. Well, Rust Cohle had a monologue. He talked about everything that was inside him, and he didn’t care if you were listening or not. There’s freedom in that.”
However, Harrelson disagreed. When asked about returning, he told Variety. “In fairness, never. No chance because it turned out great. I love that it turned out the way it did, and if anything, doing another season would, I think, tarnish that."
Other shows that made the list of “Best First Seasons of TV Shows” are Stranger Things, The Bear, and Homeland.
Who Is Kevin Hart's Wife? All About His Marriage to Eniko Hart
Kevin Hart and his wife, Eniko Hart, have been through plenty of ups and downs throughout their relationship, but they’re currently going strong—and he’s repeatedly described her as the “backbone” of his life.
After meeting in 2009, the couple quietly dated for two years before going public with their romance once Kevin finalized his divorce from first wife, Torrei Hart. Kevin and Eniko tied the knot in 2016, two years after he proposed on her birthday, but their marriage was tested early on when Kevin was caught in a cheating scandal.
Kevin later said that weathering the storm wasn’t easy, but Eniko decided to stay with him—and held him “accountable” for his actions. “She came to an amazing conclusion of, 'I like the fact that we have a family, that we have a household, and I like the fact that we now got a job to do to get better,'" he recalled during a 2020 episode of the School of Greatness podcast. “It was her understanding that we don't let the outside world affect our inside, and I credit her for setting that tone.”

Kevin Hart is married to Eniko Hart (née Parrish), who began her career as a model. In 2013, she appeared on the BET series Rip the Runway, which was hosted by Kelly Rowland and highlighted collaborations between the worlds of music and fashion. She’s since become an ambassador for Fabletics, the lifestyle brand co-owned by Kate Hudson. Kevin and Eniko have teamed up for multiple his-and-hers capsule collections with the brand.
“She’s the backbone of our household,” Kevin said during a January 2024 interview on Today With Hoda & Jenna. “She definitely has shaped and molded me in ways I never knew that I could possibly [go], just with growth in the world of adulting.”

Kevin Hart met his wife, Eniko, in 2009 at a nightclub in Washington, D.C. In the 2019 Netflix docuseries Don’t F**k This Up, Eniko said that their connection was instant. “One thing led to another, and it just happened,” she recalled of the evening, during which Kevin ran to the DJ booth to serenade her. “We couldn’t resist each other. It was nonstop.”
At the time, Kevin was still married to his first wife, Torrei, but he made it clear in the same series that there was no overlap between the two relationships. “The biggest misconception is that Eniko was the homewrecker,” he explained. “This woman came in and destroyed this man’s family. Reality is, I was done with my first marriage. We were done. In separate homes.”
View this post on Instagram When did Kevin Hart and Eniko Hart get married?Kevin and Eniko tied the knot on Aug. 13, 2016, after getting engaged two years prior. Their wedding took place in California, and both of Kevin’s kids from his first marriage were in attendance at the ceremony. Kevin’s eldest son, Hendrix, served as his dad’s best man.
One year into the marriage, Kevin claimed in an Instagram video that an unnamed person was trying to extort him with a sexually suggestive video. Kevin publicly apologized to Eniko, who was then pregnant with the couple’s son, Kenzo. Eniko said in Kevin’s Netflix series that she felt “publicly humiliated” by the scandal but ultimately decided to stick with her husband.
“I have to maintain a level head, I think that's the only thing that really got me through,” Eniko recalled. “I wasn't ready at the time to just give up on my family. I wanted Kenzo to be able to know his dad and grow up, so it was a lot. It was a lot for me, but we've been through it, we've gone through it, we passed it and he's a better man now because of it.”
Kevin, meanwhile, said in 2018 that the incident was “the most difficult test ever” for his and Eniko’s marriage. “I applaud my wife for just displaying a high level of strength that I can't even explain,” he told People. “I applaud her for being my backbone, my support system, and more importantly, taking my life to the next level.”
How old is Kevin Hart’s wife?Born on Aug. 18, 1984, Eniko celebrated her 41st birthday in 2025. Kevin, meanwhile, turned 46 on July 6, 2025.
How tall is Kevin Hart's wife?Eniko Hart is reportedly 5'6", making her about an inch taller than her husband, who has said that he's 5'5".

Kevin and Eniko Hart have been together for nearly 16 years and celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary in August 2025. They welcomed son Kenzo in 2017, followed by daughter Kaori in 2020.
After Kevin underwent emergency surgery following a car accident in September 2019, he said that he’d developed a new appreciation for his wife and family. “It all boiled down to four walls,” he told Men’s Health in February 2020. “And in the space of those four walls was my wife and my brother, my kids and my friends, all on rotation. And I got a chance to think about what matters, and it’s not fame. It’s not money. It’s not jewelry, cars, or watches. What matters are relationships. You know, the people that were helping me get up and out of the bed.”
Who else has Kevin Hart been married to?Prior to his relationship with Eniko, Kevin was married to Torrei Hart (née Skipper). The former couple wed in 2003 and filed for divorce in 2010 before finalizing their split one year later. The duo share custody of their two children, daughter Heaven and son Hendrix.
Kevin later said that he wasn’t ready for marriage when he and Torrei walked down the aisle. “I’m not ashamed to say it, guys,” he told Chelsea Handler during a 2016 interview. “I got married at the age of 22. I was still all over the place. I didn’t really understand the definition of marriage. I wasn’t ready for it, so I take responsibility. I can say I messed my first marriage up. I’m man enough to say that.”
1982 Punk Rock Classic Becomes a Surprise No. 1 Hit—9 Years After Its Debut
When The Clash released "Should I Stay or Should I Go" in 1982, they likely never expected it would take nine years for the track to hit the top spot on the charts.
The song, which was included on The Clash's LP Combat Rock, was written by band member Mick Jones, according to American Songwriter. Billboard's Top 100 in the United States ranked the song at No. 45 in 1982, released as a double-A side single alongside "Straight to Hell."
However, while the song was a modest success in the U.S. and the United Kingdom, it didn't really catch fire with listeners. But, nine years later, the song rocketed to the top spot on the British charts after its placement in a 1991 Levi's Jeans commercial.
According to Far Out Magazine, the band members allowed Jones, the song's writer, to decide whether or not they should allow "Should I Stay or Should I Go" to be used for commercial purposes. Reportedly, The Clash previously refused Dr. Pepper and British Telecom's desire to use the song.

The outlet wrote, "Jones, perhaps seeing the benefits ahead, agreed to the song being used in a commercial, rationalizing the brand as being a rock music institution, rather than a brand that the group would object [to] on moral grounds.” To double the return on his investment, Jones added not "Straight to Hell" as the second side of the reissued single, but instead, his new song "BAD."
The commercial features young actors in a pool hall, while the song plays in the background. A young pool shark takes on an older player in the spot.

Due to the commercial's popularity, the song found a new generation of fans. By March 1991, according to a Facebook post on the band's official page, "Should I Stay or Should I Go" reached the top spot on the U.K. charts. Ironically, the band had broken up five years prior, in 1986.

1969 Iconic Folk Rock Song Was Inspired by One of the Greatest Films of All Time
“Space Oddity” was an iconic David Bowie song from 1969 inspired by the science fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. The film is considered one of the greatest of all time, winning an Academy Award and getting preserved in the National Film Registry.
In a 2003 interview, Bowie spoke about the Stanley Kubrick film that inspired the hit song. “It was the sense of isolation I related to,” he said. “I found the whole thing amazing. I was out of my gourd, very stoned when I went to see it, several times, and it was really a revelation to me. It got the song flowing.”
“Space Oddity” was rush-released as a single on July 11, only nine days before the Apollo 11 moon landing, in order to capitalize on the historic event, which occurred on July 20.
“It was picked up by British television and used as the background music for the landing itself in Britain,” the singer said. “Though I’m sure they really weren’t listening to the lyric at all. It wasn’t a pleasant thing to juxtapose against a moon landing. Of course, I was overjoyed that they did. Obviously, some BBC official said, ‘Oh, right then, that space song, Major Tom, blah blah blah, that’ll be great.’ Nobody had the heart to tell the producer, ‘Um, but he gets stranded in space, sir!’”
Related: 1966 Ballad, Which Was Originally a Famous Italian Song, Became a No. 1 Hit 60 Years Ago
Bowie continued, “When I originally wrote about Major Tom, I thought I knew all about the great American dream and where it started and where it should stop. Here was the great blast of American technological know-how shoving this guy up into space, but once he gets there, he’s not quite sure why he’s there. And that’s where I left him.”
56 years ago today, on May 10, the song landed Bowie an Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Song. He also sang the song at the award show while his performance was transmitted to venues in America, France, Holland, Australia, Spain, and Venezuela.
Bowie, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, released several more iconic songs throughout his career. They included “Heroes,” "Ziggy Stardust,” and “Life on Mars?” He was also an actor who appeared in hit films like Labyrinth and The Prestige. He died in 2016 at the age of 69 after a battle with liver cancer.

The film was directed and produced by Steven Spielberg from a script written by Melissa Mathison. Ranked among the American Film Institute’s 100 greatest American movies of all time, E.T. is considered one of the seminal works of Spielberg’s illustrious Hollywood career.
Released in June 1982, E.T. made history as the highest-grossing film of all time, raking in $797.3 million at the box office. The movie held the record for 11 years until Spielberg’s Jurassic Park surpassed its sales in 1993.
Given the massive success of E.T., talks of a sequel were inevitable. Spielberg, now 79, even co-wrote a script titled E.T. II: Nocturnal Fears with Mathison. The story centered around Elliott and his friends being kidnapped by evil extraterrestrials and E.T. saving them. Despite the creation of a script, the sequel was ultimately scrapped.
In January 2025, Spielberg opened up about why he was reluctant to make a follow-up from the get-go.
“That was a real hard-fought victory because I didn’t have any rights. Before E.T., I had some rights, but I didn’t have a lot of rights,” he explained during a discussion with Barrymore, now 51, as part of the TCM Classic Film Festival: New York Pop-Up x 92NY event. “I kind of didn’t have what we call ‘the freeze,’ where you can stop the studio from making a sequel because you control the freeze on sequels, remakes and other ancillary uses of the IP. I didn’t have that. I got it after E.T. because of its success.”
Spielberg then recounted his reasoning for pumping the brakes on a sequel.
“I just did not want to make a sequel. I flirted with it for a little bit—just a little bit to see if I [could] think of a story—and the only thing I could think about was a book that was written by somebody that wrote the book for it called The Green Planet, which was all going to take place at E.T.’s home and see how E.T. lived,” he recalled. “But it was better as a novel than I think it would have been as a film.”
As for the prospect of an E.T. sequel happening in the future, Spielberg added, “I have no intention ever of seeing E.T. anywhere outside of this proscenium.”
While Barrymore was young when Spielberg shut down sequel talks, she understood his decision to let the original film stand on its own.
“I remember you saying, ‘We are not making a sequel to E.T.’ I think I was 8. I remember being like, ‘OK, that’s a bummer, but I totally get it,’” she said. “I thought it was a smart choice. I very much understand it. Where do we go from here? They’re just going to compare it to the first and leave something that’s perfect alone in isolation open to scrutiny. It made so much sense.”
The Scenic 'Secret' Mountain Detours Between Denver and Salt Lake City Have Mineral Water Lakes, Cool Hikes, and Fun Fossils
Here's the thing about the Denver-to-Salt Lake City drive: most people treat it like a box to check. They hop on I-80 through Wyoming, clock eight hours of windshield time, and call it a day. But if you've got some extra time and actually want to remember the trip, there's a route that turns the drive itself into the whole point of going.
Take I-70 west instead. Yes, it's technically longer, but the 525 miles through Colorado's Rockies pack way more scenery—and actual reasons to get out of the car—than you'd expect. Even better, take a couple of days to make this a leisurely road trip. Trust us, these under-the-radar stops are worth the journey.
Glenwood SpringsTwo hours out of Denver, Glenwood Springs hits different. The town sits in this perfect sweet spot where you're tired enough to appreciate a break, but not so exhausted that you're ready to call it a day, which is exactly when you discover the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort—literally the world's largest mineral hot springs pool.
The water comes up from the ground at 122°F and will feel like heaven to aching, sitting-in-a-car-all-day muscles. After two hours in traffic, sliding into those warm mineral waters while staring at snow-capped peaks is the kind of reset button you didn't know you needed.
There are two main spots, depending on your vibe: Glenwood Hot Springs Resort if you want the classic, old-school experience with a lodge and spa attached. Or Iron Mountain Hot Springs if you prefer something more modern, with 16 different pools at varying temps right on the Colorado River. Either way, budget at least a couple of hours here.
Hanging LakeFifteen minutes from town, Hanging Lake is one of those places that looks almost too perfect to be real. The hike is challenging—1.2 miles of switchbacks that'll make your thighs burn—but when you round that last corner and see this turquoise pool suspended in a narrow canyon with waterfalls pouring down the sides, you'll get why everyone loses their minds about it. Bring water and good shoes. Go early if you can.

PalisadeJust before you hit Utah, tiny Palisade sneaks up on you with its red rock cliffs and actual vineyards. It sounds random, but the wine is award-winning and poured among a stunning landscape. Pop into one of the local tasting rooms, grab a glass with a view, and suddenly you're not just passing through anymore. If you're there in the summer, be sure to stop by a fruit stand for some famous Palisade peaches.
Dinosaur National MonumentDinosaur National Monument straddles the Colorado-Utah line, and it's genuinely wild. On the Utah side near Jensen, there's a Quarry Exhibit Hall where you can literally touch 149-million-year-old dinosaur bones still embedded in the cliff. On the Colorado side, drive Harper's Corner Road for canyon views that'll make you understand why people love the Southwest so much.
Wisconsin Woman Says Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps ‘Changed Everything’ for Her Family
Financial guru Dave Ramsey has a lot of advice for his loyal followers. One of his more popular bits is called the 7 Baby Steps, where Ramsey lays out a series of small financial steps you can take to help put you and your family in a better situation, ultimately providing you with the resources to achieve true wealth.
And while that may sound too good to be true for anyone currently struggling with debt or other financial issues, many people swear by it, including Jennifer Metcalf of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, who spoke with Parade about her experience with the program. Keep reading to find out what she had to say about the process, including which step was the hardest, and which one felt the most fulfilling.
View this post on Instagram One Woman Says Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps Changed Her LifeMetcalf says she was first introduced to the process by a friend whose company had put its entire organization through Ramsey's Financial Peace University. For those who aren't familiar with the process, it involves setting seven goals, each of which helps you build on the step before it, and includes:
- Saving $1,000 for a starter emergency fund
- Paying off all debt other than your house, using Ramsey's snowball method
- Saving between three to six months worth of expenses to fully fund your emergency account
- Investing 15 percent of your income into your retirement
- Saving for your children's college fund
- Paying off your home early
- Building wealth and giving to friends, family, and charities
"The catalyst for all of this was in 2017," she revealed. "I was pregnant with our 4th child who was stillborn. The fact that we couldn't afford to pay for a funeral for our son was a huge wakeup call and the catalyst that jump-started all of this."
Metcalf says she began with step one in 2018, working her way through the process up until 2025, when she finally reached the seventh and final step. And while each part came with its own challenges, she said that one was not only the most difficult but also the most rewarding.
"The hardest but most fulfilling step was paying off the house," she says, adding that step six was the one that took the longest to accomplish.
Related: Dave Ramsey Wants North Dakota Man To ‘Walk Away’ From a $10 Million Family Business
Ramsey's Advice Requires Discipline and PatienceThe idea of paying off my house by simply following these seven steps seems unreal, but Metcalf says it's totally doable as long as you stay the course. She says you have to follow Ramsey's instructions exactly to make it work, warning, "Do not deviate, or it will cause you to backslide."
As for all that hard work, Metcalf says that it's paid off (pun intended). "It has changed everything," she says. "If something breaks, we have money to fix it. The freedom this has allotted our family is incredible." Like so many others, Metcalf says she was never taught how to manage money properly. "I thought credit cards and auto loans were normal. I thought being wealthy was because you inherited a fortune," she continued, adding that anyone can follow the process, as long as they are willing to do the work.
And it has truly made a difference not just in her life but in the lives of those around her as well. "We have the freedom and ability to help others," Metcalf says, adding that it is also changing things for her children as well. "Our kids are being taught the same, and this will roll downhill into their family."

Hyatt’s Beloved All-Inclusive Debuts Stunning New Look as the Ultimate Adults-Only Escape
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the Cancun Hotel Zone lately, you’ve likely noticed a shift away from the sprawling, "mega-resort" energy of the past toward something much more curated. Nestled on a prime slice of real estate between the quiet, bird-filled mangroves of the Nichupté Lagoon and the famously bright turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, the Hyatt Zilara Cancun has officially pulled back the curtain on a massive, floor-to-ceiling renovation.
The resort is leaning into a sophisticated trend where the "vibe" is the primary amenity. By trading generic glitz for a refined aesthetic that honors the local landscape, the property is proving that a child-free getaway can feel deeply connected to its roots rather than just being a place to park a lounge chair.
“These new enhancements blend modern luxury with local character,” says Eduardo Rojas, General Manager at Hyatt Zilara Cancun. “The goal was to offer guests a richer sense of connection to a destination they already know and love.”

A Design That Reflects the DestinationHyatt Zilara Cancun
Walking through the refreshed property, you won't find a sterile, cookie-cutter lobby. Instead, the look is warm, organic and deeply connected to the coast. Rojas notes that the goal was to "immerse guests in their surroundings, from the mangroves and reefs to the region’s flora and fauna."
In the social spaces and the 310 redesigned suites, this translates to a palette of "sun-warmed tones, organic textures and locally inspired artwork that subtly reflect the surrounding landscape without feeling overdone." Every suite faces the Caribbean, with "spacious layouts paired with handcrafted details" that make the room that make the room feel like your own private oceanfront residence. The open-air floor plan connects the lively pool deck to tucked-away garden lounges, making it easy to move from a social afternoon to a quiet evening.

Intimate Dining and Hidden SpeakeasiesInstead of long buffet lines, the new dining setup centers on open kitchens and communal tables where you can talk directly to the chefs as they prep local ingredients.
If you want something exclusive, check out Bokeh, an Art Deco-style speakeasy that limits its guest list to just 23 people for a 90-minute mixology session. For those who want a deep dive into local culture, Casa Adelita takes things even further. "Only ten guests per day are immersed in an interactive culinary journey that celebrates Mexican heritage and Yucatecan roots," Rojas says. Between these clandestine social settings and Olio D’Olivia—a new waterfront Italian spot featuring handcrafted pastas—the resort is targeting the traveler who wants their meal to be a transportive event.

The Reimagined Zen Spa and BeachfrontHyatt Zilara Cancun
The transformation extends to the wellness offerings, specifically the newly imagined Zen Spa. Inspired by the philosophy of balance, the spa uses innovative techniques and naturally sourced ingredients for its treatments. Guests can embark on "revitalizing hydrotherapy journeys" or curated wellness experiences designed to help them fully reconnect with nature.
Even the outdoor amenities have been reconsidered. The pool and beach areas feature upgraded loungers and significantly more shade, with a "redesigned area with a more private and tranquil guest zone to fully disconnect." As Rojas puts it, "Adults are increasingly seeking more intentional, experience-driven vacations—whether that’s for romance, wellness or social connection." By focusing on these "tailored, high-touch moments," the resort offers a refined alternative for travelers who want to feel completely taken care of.

My Mom, Grandma and I All Swear by the Same Easy 200-Year-Old Lemon Posset Recipe
Sometimes, a few ingredients and a simple recipe can create the most picture-worthy dessert. That's what I've found with my family's 200-year-old lemon posset recipe.
This classic British dessert uses just four ingredients and the hollowed-out lemon as a vessel for serving. After mixing together sugar, heavy cream and lemons, and a pinch of salt, the refrigerator does the rest of the work as the treat chills and can be ready to serve for dinner in a few hours or brunch tomorrow.
My grandma always simply referred to this deliciously simple lemon dessert as “chilled stuffed lemons.” The end result is similar to a panna cotta, but made without eggs or gelatin.
Because these are ingredients many of us usually have in our kitchens, you can easily put this together for a last-minute menu addition during your week. It's simple enough to not require too much planning ahead of time, and elevated enough where it can make an otherwise-ordinary meal feel extra fancy.
Craving the sweetness already? Me too. Here's how to make the no-bake dessert yourself—including some of my family's go-to tips and substitutions, like utilizing herbs and flavored salt, and the perfect garnish that makes the lemon posset even better.

Our family recipe uses heavy cream, sugar and lemon juice, and a pinch of salt—bringing it to a boil in a pan and simmering for just three minutes to deliver a creamy, lemony mixture every time.
The acidity of the lemon juice firms up the texture of the heavy cream as it heats, causing the mixture to thicken and the high fat content keeps the cream from becoming curdled. (If your mixture does curdle, resulting in a grainy texture, it can be strained to smooth it out before chilling.)
The addition of salt in this short ingredient list is important. If you have never used salt in a recipe for something sweet, give it a try when making desserts as it helps balance the sweetness of the sugar with the other ingredients. Flavored salts also work here with a lemon salt or a lavender version (which perks up many of my other dessert recipes).
Real lemon juice is the key to getting the right balance of a zing of citrus. My family has also made this with lime or blood orange juice for a fun twist on citrus ingredients.

Ingredients Needed- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
First, cut the lemons in half and squeeze for juice.
Don’t skimp on the lemon juice used in this recipe as the tart lemon flavor is the star of the show here. Bottled lemon juice has a muted taste that won’t help the citrus shine. (If your lemons feel like they are too firm and won’t give off all their juices, roll the lemons back and forth under the weight of your palm on the kitchen counter a few times to help loosen up all the lemon goodness inside.)

Bring the cream mixture to a boil and lower to a steady, gentle simmer for three minutes. Keep a watch on the time as the three-minute mark is important for helping the mixture thicken.

Allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
Then, strain the mixture through a mesh strainer. This ensures a smooth consistency and removes any lumps that may have formed.
Pour into a vessel to chill and serve. Use a small glass, wine glass, ramekins or lemons sliced in half and hollowed out.

Tips and SubstitutionsAfter making this for years, here are a few of my tried-and-true tips, as well as some substitution ideas.
- Be sure to use a full fat heavy cream
- Only fresh lemon juice will do for the most concentrated lemon flavor
- Try a flavored salt like lemon or lavender
- Chill for at least four hours to get a consistent set up of the ingredients or overnight
- Substitute blood orange or lime for the lemon juice
- Infuse cream with vanilla beans or herbs like lemon thyme, rosemary, basil or mint
- Serve with shortbread or other type of cookie
- Serve with macerated berries and lemon zest
- Garnish with fresh mint and sanding sugar for a sweet crunchy texture on top

Lemon Posset Recipe Review: Final ThoughtsWhether you are making a large holiday dinner or planning a last-minute menu for a gathering, any recipes that can be made ahead of time with just a few ingredients are always a big help. And this is one of my go-tos.
This lemon posset can be assembled and chilled as you take care of other dinner items—and you can even use the lemons themselves as the vessel for serving or dress up the lemon posset and serve in a wine glass.
When a recipe calls for heavy cream, I often like to swap in a lighter cream but this recipe, with only a few ingredients, needs the fat in the heavy cream for texture to work with the acidity of the citrus.
Whole milk, half and half or low-fat milk will tend to clump and give a grainy and unpleasant consistency to the filling. The step of straining the mixture before chilling can help solve any problems with tiny bits before chilling and keep the mixture smooth.
With the fool-proof method of timing the three-minute simmer of lemon juice and cream, and a strainer to give a smooth texture to the filling, this recipe is easy to make, easy to love and easy to clean up!

2004 Performance, Ranked Among ‘Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time,’ Became the Ultimate Tribute to a Rock Legend
A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame tribute to a late Beatles legend has been named one of the greatest guitar performances of all time. Rolling Stone ranked Prince’s guitar work on the Beatles classic “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at No. 15 on its list of the 100 most iconic guitar solos. The outlet described Prince’s legendary “mega-viral guitar solo” from George Harrison’s posthumous 2004 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony as “three minutes of sublime guitar bada—ery … a blaze of acrobatic shredding, rapid-fire legato runs, and electric showmanship.”
“But even at his flashiest, Prince keeps his phrasing rooted in the melody of Harrison’s White Album classic — a show of respect from one all-timer to another,” the outlet shared.
The Rolling Stone write-up noted that in addition to being a masterful tribute to Harrison, Prince’s epic performance was considered a response to being “snubbed” on the magazine’s 2003 “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list. According to Guitar World, in Ezra Edelman's unreleased Prince documentary, it was alleged that his jaw-dropping solo was “an act of revenge” aimed at Rolling Stone for not including him on their list.
If that was the case, the “Purple Rain” icon proved the magazine—and everyone— wrong.
Prince surprised everyonePrince performed the blistering solo alongside Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne, and Harrison’s son, Dhani. The all-star tribute to Harrison, who died in 2001, was barely rehearsed by the musicians. Some of them almost seemed surprised when Prince completely took over the set a little more than three minutes in. Harrison’s son smiled widely as he watched Prince command his guitar. The performance ended with Prince tossing his guitar up into the air, for it never to come down.
In an interview at a MusiCares event, Dhani Harrison explained his reaction to the moment. “We had Prince playing guitar, which was the classic backbend guitar throw, which was a little gratuitous, really," he laughed. “But it was an interesting, you know, everyone's always like, ‘Wow, he's smiling so much onstage.’ And I was smiling because I was just like, oh man, I could just imagine Tom and Jeff going, ‘What the hell is going on?’”
“It was definitely a moment to be shared with the whole human race, and I was standing front and center,” Harrison added. “But it went down so well that it was a classic moment, you know.”
In an interview with The New York Times, Petty said he appreciated Prince’s show. The rocker revealed he knew something amazing was taking place as he watched Prince take over the stage. “He just burned it up,” Petty said. "You could feel the electricity of ‘something really big’s going down here.’”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony's producer, Joel Gallen, admitted he didn’t know what was happening with Prince until the music icon began performing the outro of the Harrison classic.
“They never rehearsed it, really,” Gallen shared. “Never really showed us what he was going to do, and he left, basically telling me, the producer of the show, not to worry. And the rest is history. It became one of the most satisfying musical moments in my history of watching and producing live music.”

20 Years Ago Today: This 'American Idol' Favorite Was Sent Home in a 2006 Shocking Elimination That Still Stings
Twenty years ago, one of the most shocking eliminations in American Idolhistory occurred as the final four were reduced to three.
With a final four of strong talent, fans expected close voting among Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee, Elliot Yamin, and Chris Daughtry as Elvis Presley week arrived.
Hicks performed Jailhouse Rock and In the Ghetto, while Yamin tackled If I Can Dream and Trouble. Meanwhile, McPhee’s renditions of Hound Dog, All Shook Up, and Can’t Help Falling in Love, along with Daughtry’s performances of Suspicious Minds and A Little Less Conversation, led to them being placed in the bottom two.
Seacrest shared that “a lot of people predicted both of you could be in our finale.” Before this elimination, Daughtry was widely regarded as a front-runner, with many, American Idol host Paula Abdul included, expecting him to reach the finale, even after his most recent performance.
Seacrest echoed this, sharing that “a lot of people predicted that Chris would be the next American Idol.”
The host then quickly and jarringly announced, “Chris, you are going home tonight. The journey ends. America, you have spoken. Chris is off the show tonight.”
Immediately, the crowd began to boo, but Daughtry remained professional and sang Suspicious Minds as the credits rolled.
Speaking to Zap2it.com reporter Rick Porter at the time, Daughtry said he was blindsided by the vote and did not expect to go out in the final four. "I was just being real. I wasn't going to pretend to be happy about it," he said. "It was definitely gut-wrenching. I wasn't expecting it, not even a little bit."
Reflecting on his exit, Daughtry explained to Seacrest the following day on his radio show, “I think possibly people thought it was a shoo-in and that they didn't have to vote.”
Despite losing American Idol, Daughtry’s career moved forward. Speaking to MTV News at the time, he commented, “Now I get to put a band together and write my stuff and put the album out that I wanted to put out. So I got what I wanted out of the whole process.”
He told Seacrest on his radio show, “I hope big things happen in the future and nobody forgets about me after the show.”
It turns out his fans would not forget him, and the artist would go on to release 9 studio albums over the last 20 years, beginning with his self-titled album, Daughtry, in 2006.
The album was released on November 21, 2006. Its hit singles It’s Not Over and Home replaced Daniel Powter’s Bad Day as the farewell song for contestants on season six of American Idol in 2007.
American Idol airs on ABC with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu and Disney+.
World Market’s Stunning Wood Rocking Chair Is Becoming a Backyard Must-Have
Outdoor spaces are getting more attention than ever. From front porches to backyard patios, people are transforming everyday outdoor areas into relaxing extensions of the home. Comfortable seating, warm wood finishes and timeless furniture designs are becoming major priorities as shoppers search for pieces that feel stylish without trying too hard.
There's also been a noticeable shift toward outdoor furniture that creates a slower and more relaxed atmosphere. Instead of overly modern patio setups, many homeowners are leaning into classic Americana-inspired designs that feel welcoming, comfortable and built for everyday use. Rocking chairs in particular are making a strong comeback because they instantly bring a sense of comfort to outdoor spaces while adding a timeless look that works across multiple decor styles.

One of the biggest strengths of this chair is its versatility. The slatted wood design keeps the overall appearance clean and classic while allowing it to blend naturally into different outdoor environments. Whether it's placed beside a garden, arranged around a fire pit or used as statement seating on a front porch, the chair delivers the relaxed outdoor vibe many shoppers are trying to create this year.

Due to the protective finish, some chairs may arrive with a light film on the wood surface, which can easily be removed with a soft, dry cloth.
As outdoor living continues to dominate home and lifestyle trends, shoppers are investing more in pieces that feel both functional and timeless. This Adirondack rocking chair taps directly into that movement by combining comfort, durability and classic outdoor style into one simple backyard upgrade.

The 4 Birth Months Who Love to Nap, Without Apology
There’s something universally comforting about a good nap—the kind where you drift off for “just 20 minutes” and wake up feeling like a brand-new person. While anyone can appreciate a midday snooze, some birth months seem especially suited for the art of napping. Whether it’s due to their temperament, energy levels, or simply their love of comfort, these four months stand out for their deep appreciation of rest. Enjoying naps isn’t about being lazy; it’s about recognizing when your mind and body need a break. According to expert astrologers, this awareness comes naturally for the following four birth months.
Which Birth Months Love to Nap?Birth months are listed.
March –The Dreamy EscapistsMarch people love rest, because their inner worlds are eing so active. Whether you're an imaginative Pisces or a bold Aries, learning to slow down, March individuals tend to value naps as a reset button. Particularly known for their dreamy nature, they often feel mentally drained from all their emotional depth and creativity. Even Aries, usually energetic and driven, benefits from recharging with a quick nap after burning through their fuel too fast. To them, naps aren't laziness, they're survival.
June – The Mental JugglersJune people always seem to have something on their minds, and it's exhausting. They are constantly thinking, planning, talking, and taking everything in. Whether you're a curious Gemini or a nurturing Cancer, there's a good chance you need a nap to slow your mind down. Geminis, although they love being busy and stimulated, can reach a point where it all feels like too much, and that's when a nap really helps clear things out. Cancers are a little different; they feel everything deeply and tend to pick up on other people's energy, which can wear them out without even realizing it. Napping, for them, isn't just about being tired; it's more like a reset for their mind and emotions.
September - The Perfectionist RechargePeople born in September tend to notice everything and usually expect a lot of themselves. That combination can wear them out pretty fast if they don't slow down once in a while. Whether you're a precise Virgo or a peace-loving Libra, a nap can go a long way. Virgos are always trying to keep everything in order, which can wear you down over time. Libras, although more easygoing, still need that sense of calm and balance, and sometimes a nap is all it takes to feel like themselves again. For September-borns, getting some rest isn't being lazy; it's just part of keeping themselves going.
December - The Cozy DreamersPeople born in December love being comfortable. They are happy with just a warm blanket and a quiet spot. Whether you're a free-spirited Sagittarius or a more serious, hard-working Capricorn, rest is something you actually enjoy. Sagittarians seem to be always on the move, doing a million things, but even they crash eventually and need time to recharge. Capricorns act like they can go nonstop, but deep down, they really appreciate a little peace, too. For both of them, a nap is basically a way to take a break from everything for a bit.

1967 Blistering Heartbreak Anthem That Became a Massive Hit Ultimately Destroyed the Band
A cover song made them legends. Then it trapped them forever.
Vanilla Fudge’s 1967 blistering take on The Supremes’ classic “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” became a Top 10 hit, influencing bands from Led Zeppelin to Deep Purple. But as BBC’s Classical Music recently pointed out, the massive hit ended up boxing in the band creatively — and destroying them in the process.
View this post on Instagram“Every time they tried to release original, sophisticated material, the audience — and the label — demanded more reworked Motown,” BBC wrote. “By the time they found their own voice, the very bands they had inspired had overtaken them. They were the architects of a sound that they were eventually forbidden from evolving.”
Vanilla Fudge, a psychedelic rock band from Long Island, was formed in 1966. Originating from a soul cover band called The Pigeons, the group was composed of vocalist/organist Mark Stein, bassist Tim Bogert, guitarist Vince Martell, and drummer Carmine Appice. One of the most prolific acts of their day, they recorded five albums in three years before calling it quits in 1970.
Some of their most famous covers included The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” and Donovan’s “Season of the Witch.” But by far, the group’s biggest hit was their debut single, “You Keep Me Hangin’ On.” Revolutionary in its execution, the song was recorded in one take and featured on their debut self-titled album. Peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 a year later, the tune became the band’s defining song.
“We used to slow songs down and listen to the lyrics and try to emulate what the lyrics were dictating,” Appice once said, according to Far Out Magazine. “That one was a hurtin’ song; it had a lot of emotion in it.”
In January 1968, Vanilla Fudge performed their version of “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” on The Ed Sullivan Show for an estimated 50 million viewers. Their theatrical showcase was raw, explosive, and inventive. Upworthy put it best when they said, “It’s the musical version of an athlete leaving it all out on the field.”
“Afterwards, it went off so amazing, everyone was claiming, and there were reviews in the newspapers and radio, even TV, saying that it was the most amazing performance that anyone ever did on Ed Sullivan,” Appice told Music Night at the Majestic. “Because it was so dynamic. So emotional.”
In hindsight, Vanilla Fudge’s performance and sound were considered the precursor to heavy metal and prog rock, and the beginning of the power ballad that would be perfected in the following decades. Bands like Yes, Deep Purple, and Zeppelin all took note: This wasn't hippie flower power — it was visceral, thunderous rock.
Unfortunately, it was also the beginning of the end for Vanilla Fudge. The song was so good their label and fans wanted only more covers, ignoring their original material. Meanwhile, the bands they initially inspired ended up surpassing them. Cannibalized by their own success, the group disbanded in 1970.
Decades later, the song saw a bit of a renaissance thanks to TV and movies. It was featured on Mad Men, The Sopranos, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, and various other projects. And still, it was like hearing it for the first time. Or as Far Out put it, “For a song to be 55 years old and still raise the hairs on the back of the neck with every listen is remarkable.”
Vanilla Fudge has no expiration date in our eyes.
