Here’s Kylie Jenner’s Iced Coffee Recipe—and P.S., Stormi Doesn’t Approve

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 4:51pm

When Kylie Jennerisn’t busy sitting courtside at the New York Knicks playoff games with her beau, actor Timothée Chalamet, she’s doing something very relatable—making iced coffee. In a recent Instagram clip, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star treated fans to a Kylie-style tutorial on how to be an at-home barista. And while her adoring public is all for the home-brewed beverage, Jenner’s daughter doesn’t feel the same.

Kylie Jenner’s Morning Coffee Recipe

So how exactly does the Kylie Cosmetics founder make her coffee? Forget about basic instant blends. The entrepreneur has a recipe that’s…well, let’s just say that it’s absolutely interesting.

Jenner starts the video by saying, “We’re going to attempt to make an iced coffee.” And no, that doesn’t really inspire confidence in her skills.

Of course, Kylie isn’t the only Jenner who has had a culinary faux pas. KUWTK fans may remember when Kylie’s sister, Kendall Jenner, famously attempted to slice cucumbers a few years back. As the cameras rolled, and mom Kris Jennerwatched, Kendall basically butchered the poor cuke. Kris asks “the chef” to finish the job, and even though Kendall keeps cutting, critics slammed the reality star/model for her less-than-stellar kitchen skills.

As it turns out, Kylie’s coffee-making adventure went much better. While she admits, “I’m not good at this, I actually have no idea what I’m doing,” she does seem pretty professional.

As Jenner takes us on her iced coffee journey, her eight-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster, pops in for a hug from mom. One explanation of Stormi’s sling (as it turns out, she had an injury at school that Kylie says is fine and doesn't really require the sling viewers can see in the clip) and one mom-daughter staring contest later, the drink is brewed and almost ready to go.

What’s in Jenner’s glass? She explains, “I just did oatmilk, coffee…I poured the coffee in, now I’m going to do a little bit of this banana syrup.” As she picks up a bottle of creamer, Kylie adds, “Call me crazy, Stormi, no, don’t actually call me crazy. I’m going to do a little bit…a tiny bit of vanilla and a tiny bit of cookie dough.”

Jenner walks away to get a straw and, as she says, “That was very good” in the background. Judging by the clip (and Stormi shaking her head no vehemently), the little girl clearly has an issue with her mom’s creative concoction.

Apparently, Stormi isn’t the only one who doesn’t exactly approve. Friends and fans had plenty to say. Influencer Catherine Ebs wrote, “You’re not selling me on this recipe,” and one commenter added, “Girl, you know that doesn’t taste good, lol.”

Oatmilk, banana, vanilla, and cookie-dough iced coffee? We’re not sold either!

Walmart’s ‘Fun and Colorful’ $24 Outdoor Rug Is the Final Touch Your Patio Setup Is Missing

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 4:45pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Relaxing patio furniture? Check. A grill that can handle burgers, steaks, and everything in between? Check. String lights and a setup that feels inviting after sunset? Also check. When you’re building out a backyard, the essentials tend to come together pretty quickly, and suddenly you’ve got a space that works for hosting, lounging, and everything in between.

But the truth is, even the best patio setups can feel a little unfinished without the right finishing touches. Accessories are what turn an outdoor area into a true extension of the home. If you’re looking for one of those high-impact pieces that pulls it all together, the Lahome Decor Rainbow Outdoor Rug is currently $24 in the 5-by-8-foot size, marked down 52% from its original $50 price tag thanks to a limited-time Walmart flash deal.

This rug leans into a modern, geometric aesthetic through a tightly woven double-rainbow pattern that’s available in six colors. The design is fully integrated into the weave itself, with interlaced curved lines and alternating bands of color worked directly into the polypropylene fabric. Because it’s fully reversible, the same pattern appears on both sides with an inverted color emphasis, effectively giving you two usable looks in one piece while also helping extend its lifespan. One shopper confirmed that the “fun and colorful” design “brightens up the backyard.”

The flat-woven construction sits flush to the ground and works easily under patio furniture without bunching or creating uneven surfaces. Finished with tightly stitched binding along the edges and reinforced corner seams, it’s designed to hold its shape even in high-traffic areas. The weave is made from lightweight virgin polypropylene plastic straws, giving it a subtly textured feel that is smooth enough to feel comfortable on bare feet. It’s also UV-resistant and abrasion-resistant, meaning it's less likely to fade, rip, or unravel with use.

Care is simple, with reviewers highlighting that the rug is “waterproof and so easy to clean.” Because the fibers don’t absorb moisture, spills, rain, and wet shoes stay on the surface and can be quickly wiped away or rinsed. It’s also resistant to mold and mildew buildup, which makes it especially practical for seasonal outdoor use. Four integrated stake loops help secure it directly into grass or soil for added stability in breezy conditions, making it especially useful for camping trips, beach days, and picnic setups where wind can be an issue.

Available in four rectangular sizes, starting at a standard 5-by-8-foot option, the rug can scale to fit a range of spaces, from small balconies and larger patios to RV awnings and indoor transitional areas like sunrooms and playrooms.

Janet Jackson, 59, Looks Like She’s Aging in Reverse in Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 4:44pm

Janet Jackson may be a musical icon, but she does her best to fly under the radar.

Jackson, 59, the highly successful sister of Michael Jacksonand the rest of the Jackson 5, kicked off her career as a child actress in the role of Penny on Good Times. As an adult, she blossomed into a musical phenom, triumphing across multiple decades with diverse albums like Rhythm Nation 1814 and janet. Flash forward to the present, and Jackson is still a staple of the music industry. This week, the beauty hit the red carpet to attend the Grammy Hall of Fame Gala 2026 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and worked the red carpet in an androgynous look before receiving an award onstage. With her long hair in tight curls cascading down her shoulders, Jackson looks almost the same as she did back on the red carpet in the '90s.

Jackson Made Her First Public Performance in 7 Years in 2025

Jackson’s performance in May 2025 at the American Music Awards was her first public performance in seven years. With 50 years of making music under her belt, it’s safe to say people were eager to see her back on the stage. She also received the ICON Award at the ceremony.

I love you so much,” Jackson said in her acceptance speech, according to PEOPLE. “I am so so honored. I am so grateful. I mean, no disrespect in any way, but I don’t consider myself an icon.”

She continued, explaining that it wasn’t the Jackson family’s goal to be famous.

“We weren’t raised like that. We always had a special love for music, dancing, singing, and fame came with the result of hard work and dedication,” she explained. “My story, my family’s story, is truly an American story. This would have only happened in America.”

Makeup Artist Says Spring 2026 Is All About 'Ghost Lashes'—So, See Ya, Mascara

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 4:08pm

Larger-than-life lashes are a mainstay on red carpets and runways alike, and we don't see that changing anytime soon. After all, there's something ultra-glamorous about full, long lashes, especially since they do a marvelous job of making your eyes pop.

Still, every so often, an eyelash trend tries to swoop in and give falsies a run for their money. Spring 2026 is all about ghost lashes, so Parade was curious to know what the makeup trend is all about and whether it has staying power.

To learn more, we chatted with Markphong Tram, a professional makeup artist based in New York, and asked him what ghost lashes are and why some makeup artists are skipping mascara altogether as we head into the warmer months.

Tram shares plenty of tips for achieving the ghost lashes look on your own and breaks down some common mistakes to avoid when trying the trend at home.

To help you decide whether or not ghost lashes are right for you, the makeup artist offers insight into who the trend flatters the most. So, if you're interested in making your eyes look defined without mascara, his insights will help you nail the look.

What Are 'Ghost Lashes'?

The term "ghost lashes" sounds mysterious, but it's really quite simple.

"Ghost lashes can mean going without lashes, wearing just a light touch of mascara (or none at all), allowing your natural lashes to breathe and stand on their own," Tram says.

Why Some Makeup Artists Are Skipping Mascara Altogether

False lashes and lengthening mascaras are perfect when you want your eyes to really stand out. But this spring, some makeup artists are favoring the ghost lashes look. Curious to know why the trend is gaining traction, we asked Tram—and he cites the rising popularity of natural beauty.

"Ghost lashes are all about embracing your natural beauty with that clean-girl aesthetic," he says. "Honestly, who doesn’t love a beauty trend that promotes something so positive?"

While working with clients, Tram doesn't usually skip mascara unless they ask him to do so. However, he often incorporates elements of the ghost lashes trends into his work.

"Even with natural lashes, I’ll often apply a very light coat just to restore a bit of definition after the foundation process," he says.

Overall, the rising popularity of ghost lashes signals a shift in women's ever-evolving relationship with beauty.

"At the end of the day, it really comes down to what makes the client feel most comfortable and confident in how their makeup is done," Tram says.

How To Get the 'Ghost Lashes' Look

Considering giving the ghost lashes trend a try? Tram has a few tips for mastering the look.

"The simplest approach is to skip heavy falsies and heavy-coated black mascara all together," he says. "Instead, gently curl your lashes and use a small amount of clear mascara or brow gel to hold the shape."

Additionally, Tram says a "softer" mascara shade like brown can provide a more natural look.

"Or, consider a lash tint or lift to cut down on daily effort. The goal is to lift and separate your lashes, creating the appearance of brighter, more open eyes," he suggests.

Who the 'Ghost Lashes' Trend Works Best For

Before you try a new makeup trend, it's always best to consider how it will flatter your features. Tram notes that ghost lashes are generally "great for anyone who wants to try out a new makeup style." The trend can also work well in the workplace.

"It's especially perfect for 9–5 beauties who prefer a minimal approach. Think quick, effortless, out-the-door in five minutes and ready to take on the day," he tells Parade.

Anyone who was blessed with full, thick lashes can easily rock the look.

"Because honestly, no one wears that soft, natural lash look better than they do," Tram says.

3 Common Mistakes To Avoid When Trying the 'No Mascara' Trend

While you're mastering a new makeup trend, you're bound to make a few mishaps along the way. Luckily, you can avoid some common mistakes with Tram's professional know-how.

1. Don't totally neglect your lashes

For starters, the ghost lashes trend is certainly minimalistic, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give your lashes any love.

"The goal isn’t to do nothing. It’s to create a refined, barely-there look. Even if you skip mascara, your lashes still need some attention," he explains.

Leaving your lashes uncurled can make them appear "tired or flat," per Tram, so giving them a quick curl can "instantly open them up without adding product."

2. Highlight other areas of your face

Mascara frames the eyes, so when you skip it, Tram says you'll want "subtle definition elsewhere."

"Try lightly filling in your brows or tightlining your lash line. Otherwise, your features can fade," the makeup pro says.

3. Aim for a balanced makeup look

Keeping the rest of your makeup in balance can take your ghost lashes look to the next level.

"Heavy foundation, strong contour or bold lips can clash with the no-makeup effect," Tram says.

In the end, the ghost lashes trend is about "harmony with skin, brows, eyes and lips" as they all "work together in a soft, understated way."

How To Make Your Eyes Look Defined Without Mascara

Worried that your eyes won't look defined without mascara? Tram says it's all about enhancing their shape and adding both contrast and depth.

"Try applying a dark eyeliner (brown or black) along your upper waterline, right beneath your lashes. This subtly thickens the look of your lash line without any obvious makeup," he says.

You can also softly define the lash line by smudging a pencil or dark eye shadow at the base of your lashes.

"This offers a gentle, smoky effect and adds definition without feeling heavy," Tram says.

Lastly, a lash curler can provide much-needed lift and help your eyes "look more open and awake without needing mascara."

Best-Selling Author’s Classic Book Ranked Among ‘Most Streamed Audiobooks’ of All Time

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 3:40pm

More than a decade after its release, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind is still finding new audiences, this time through headphones.

The bestselling book by Yuval Noah Harari was recently ranked among the most streamed audiobooks of all time on Spotify, highlighting the lasting cultural impact of a nonfiction title that transformed complex history into a global phenomenon.

Originally published in Hebrew before becoming an international bestseller, Sapiens explores the history of humanity from the emergence of early Homo sapiens to the modern technological age. Harari examines how humans evolved from relatively insignificant creatures into the dominant force on the planet, blending history, anthropology, science and philosophy into one expansive narrative.

The book became widely praised for making massive historical concepts feel accessible and engaging. Rather than focusing only on wars and political leaders, Harari explores ideas like money, religion, agriculture and capitalism, arguing that shared beliefs and collective myths helped shape civilization itself.

View this post on Instagram

Its popularity exploded through word-of-mouth recommendations and celebrity endorsements, eventually turning Sapiens into one of the defining nonfiction books of the 21st century.

"In some areas we've done amazingly well; in other areas we've done amazingly bad," the author told NPR. "Humans are extremely good in acquiring new power, but they are not very good in translating this power into greater happiness, which is why we are far more powerful than ever before but we don't seem to be much happier."

The audiobook format has played a major role in extending that reach even further. As long-form listening has surged in popularity, many readers have gravitated toward audiobooks that combine education with immersive storytelling, helping Sapiens become a standout performer on Spotify's platform.

The continued success of the audiobook also reflects a broader appetite for nonfiction that helps explain the modern world through a historical lens.

Years after its original publication, Sapiens remains a cultural touchstone—one that continues to spark debate, curiosity and conversation around how humanity arrived at this moment in history.

"I think morality is more important than ever before," Harari told The Guardian. "As we gain more power, the question of what we do with it becomes more and more crucial, and we are very close to really having divine powers of creation and destruction. The future of the entire ecological system and the future of the whole of life is really now in our hands. And what to do with it is an ethical question and also a scientific question."

Its place among Spotify's most streamed audiobooks of all time proves that compelling storytelling doesn't just belong to fiction.

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 3:29pm

Fans heading to tonight’s Luke Combs concert in Norman, Oklahoma, have been met with a last-minute update just hours before showtime. The changes were made due to inclement weather expected in the area, with organizers adjusting the schedule for multiple performers.

"Due to the incoming forecasted inclement weather and lightning, we will be shifting the schedule for today's show in Norman, OKLA. My team and l are doing our best to give all of our friends their time with you today," Combs said in a statement posted to his Instagram Stories.

"This is the updated schedule:

Ty Myers: 5:20 - 5:45 PM

Combs' stop in Norman is the latest on his "My Kinda Saturday Night Tour," which kicked off in March. He has two more tour dates in the U.S. before he takes his show across the pond for about a dozen or so more performances.

Taylor Swift's 2017 Hit Rated No. 1 of Songs You Didn't Know Were Samples

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 3:15pm

A well-used sample could outperform the original version of the song. When that happens, listeners are surprised that the hit isn't completely new.

There is a ranking of the best songs that you didn't know were samples. Taylor Swift came out on top.

MsMojo released a video of the top 10 songs that used samples. Gwen Stefani was at the bottom of the list with "Hollaback Girl," which used "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen in a clever way.

It nods to the rock song with "That's right, I'm the last one standing/Another one bites the dust." The sample is also used with the 2004's melody.

Related: 1983 Legendary Duet Named the Best of All Time

Swift, 36, placed number one with "Look What You Made Me Do." She is known for her pen work, but she's also not against sampling.

"The effortlessly cool melody interpolates English band Right Said Fred's pop song, 'I'm Too Sexy,' which was a hit in its own right," explained the video's narrator. The duo, Richard Fairbrass, Fred Fairbrass, and songwriter Rob Manzoli, were given a writing credit for the song.

It's an odd collaboration at first. Swift's hit was all about revenge, and the English band's song has playful, boastful lyrics about being too sexy to wear clothes. Right Said Fred wore muscle shirts in their music video. Swift is glamorous while being in dangerous situations. But it's the "Look what you made me do" part of the number that parallels the "too sexy" song.

"Thank you Taylor Swift, what a marvellous reinvention!" the twitter account for Right Said Fred quoted in response to her sharing promotion for the single.

The song was on her Reputation album and fits its vindictive tone. People were more focused on references to her feud with Kim Kardashian than the samples. The other credited writers and producers are Swift andJack Antonoff, and most people wouldn't suspect there are more.

Tim McGraw Just Revealed the Chilling Coincidence That Changed His Life Forever

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 3:05pm

Country music icon Tim McGraw is opening up about an emotional memory from the very day his journey to Nashville began. While reflecting on arriving in Music City on a Greyhound bus in 1989, the country superstar revealed a heartbreaking coincidence tied to one of his lifelong musical heroes—and why the moment still feels deeply personal decades later.

"On that day, ironically, Keith Whitley died," McGraw captioned an Instagram post on May 9. "It’s no secret I’ve been a huge Keith Whitley fan my whole life, and if you’ve ever seen me on stage, I started the night warming up with @bobminner, sitting on a road case in a hallway backstage or hanging out in the dressing room."

View this post on Instagram

McGraw's post comes as he reflects on recording music with longtime collaborator Bob Minner and acclaimed singer-songwriter Lori McKenna—a full-circle moment tied to his love for late country star Keith Whitley and the music that shaped his career.

"It takes me to the core of what I love about music — a great song, a great player, the ghost of one of my heroes singing along with me, the magic background vocals from one of my favorites… and I get to sing,” McGraw wrote. “Doesn’t get better than that."

Whitley was known for classic songs like "Don't Close Your Eyes" (1988), "When You Say Nothing at All" (1988), and "I'm No Stranger to the Rain" (1989). He died in 1989 from acute alcohol poisoning at the age of 34.

As McGraw takes a beat to share this memory, his schedule is going to pick up very soon. He's set to kick off his 2026 "Pawn Shop Guitar Tour" on July 9, 2026, at the Bethel Woods Center For The Arts in Bethel, New York. He has more than 30 shows lined up through the end of September.

1979 Hit Song Became One of Pop Culture’s Most Recognizable Rock Anthems Decades Later

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 3:01pm

Some rock classics stand the test of time after their release, thanks to becoming iconic tracks used across multiple films and TV series. Singer-songwriter Bob Seger released a track at the end of the '70s that would solidify itself as a rock 'n' roll anthem that he wasn't credited for.

Seger became known for hits like "Live Bullet," "Roll Me Away", "Like a Rock," and "Shakedown," with the latter having been specifically written for the Eddie Murphy filmBeverly Hills Cop II. In 1979, Seger released "Old Time Rock and Roll," which never topped the charts but would become one of pop culture's irresistible tracks. It was released as the fourth single from his album Stranger in Town and reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

"Old Time Rock and Roll" would become a sensation decades later when it was a main track in the Tom Cruisecult classic film Risky Business. Cruise's character famously danced to the hit song with a candlestick holder while wearing a button-up shirt and underpants when left alone at home.

It's become a rock anthem ever since, in pop culture, tied to the film. It's also been included in various series like The Nanny, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Growing Pains, South Park, Scrubs, and The Flash. It was also included in Stranger Things and various commercials since.

Related: 1986 Hit, That Saved This Singer’s Career, Ranked Among ‘Greatest Rock Duets’

While Seger sang the track, there's always been controversy over who should have been credited for its lyrics. The song was originally written by George Jackson and Thomas E. Jones III when it was sent to Seger by Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. Seger was desperate to finish his album and was out of original tracks. According to American Songwriter, he only kept the track's chorus, rewrote everything else, and borrowed a bit of the feel of Chuck Berry’s “Rock and Roll Music."

Despite rewriting a large chunk of the song, he never took credit against his manager's insistence to do so, and in return had no rights to its copyright. George Stephenson of Malaco Records later argued that Jackson is the true creator of the track. Seger re-establishing his stance in having written "Old Time Rock and Roll" years later. The track has also been covered by other artists since its release by Johnny Hallyday, Ronnie Dove, and the British rock band Status Quo.

Sandra Oh Says She Downplayed Her Asian Heritage While Rising to Fame on 'Grey's Anatomy'

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:59pm

Sandra Ohis getting candid about navigating the entertainment industry as an Asian actress during the rise of Grey's Anatomy.

In an exclusive preview of the upcoming HBO documentary The A List: 15 Stories From Asian and Pacific Diasporas, shared by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, May 8, Oh recalled feeling like she had to downplay her Korean heritage.

"The fact that half of the cast of Grey’s Anatomy weren’t white, that was a thing,” she said in the documentary clip. “And it was almost like, ‘Shush. Let’s just not talk about it. Let’s just do it and see if we can get away with it. Oh my gosh, it’s a hit!”

Further in the documentary, Oh poses the question, “How do you exist in a room that doesn’t want you, or doesn’t respect you? It was a different time."

Oh also commented on the notion of incorporating Asian characters into mainstream white narratives as too risky is hopefully over.

"It’s a feeling of where I come from, which is just like, ‘let’s just try and sneak it in. Let no one notice and we might have an existence, right?’ I really hope that kind of thinking has passed," she remarked.

The documentary also features interviews from Bowen Yang, Kumail Nanjiani, DJ Rekha, Yia Vang, Amanda Nguyen, Schulyer Bailar, Jada Yuan, Connie Chung, and more.

The A List: 15 Stories From Asian and Pacific Diasporas is part of an ongoing series by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders highlighting underrepresented communities in America. Other films in the series include The Black List,The Out List, The Trans List, and The Latino List.

The A List: 15 Stories From Asian and Pacific Diasporas will debut on HBO and HBO Max on Wednesday, May 13.

"Omg yay!!!!!" someone else celebrated, adding, "Tonight you will be Mrs Dooley!!!!" which earned her a "like" from the bride-to-be, while others still were "FREAKING OUT WITH YOU OMG" as the comments continued to roll in.

Just days ago, Baylen teased her "last post as a Dupree" on Instagram, and yesterday she gave fans a little look at their rehearsal dinner, posting a video of herself seated next to Dooley in a golf cart, all gussied up for the affair.

Naturally, fans are now waiting with bated breath for a glimpse at the full wedding look, with one admitting that, while Baylen is "Stunning already!" they "Can’t wait to see your dress."

Hopefully, they won't have to wait for Season 3 of Baylen Out Loud to drop in order to take it all in.

1973 Southern Rock Classic, Written in 5 Minutes, Ranked Among Best ‘Rock Songs’ of All Time

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:26pm

In 1973, The Allman Brothers Band released a song that would become their biggest commercial hit and one of the defining Southern rock tracks of all time.

"Ramblin' Man" was later ranked among the top 100 greatest rock songs of all time by Ultimate Classic Rock, cementing its legacy decades after its release.

Ironically, the song came together remarkably quickly.

Written by guitarist and vocalist Dickey Betts, "Ramblin' Man" was inspired by a phrase he’d heard repeatedly from a friend named Kenny Harwick. whom he visited regularly.

"I would come back to see him every night. He'd say, 'How you been doing? Playing your music and doing the best you can, I reckon,'" Betts recalled in an interview. "And that line just stuck with me. I said, 'That's rhythm, [a] rhythmic line.'"

Betts held onto the idea for more than a year before finally developing it into a song in 1972. The title itself was inspired by Hank Williams' 1951 country classic of the same name.

"I changed it around, and instead of 'playin' my music,' [I wrote] 'I'm tryin’ to make a livin', you know? Trying to relate to people that don't play music," Betts explained. "I sit down to write it, and I wrote it in five minutes. It's like you [were] writing a letter to your girl."

The song appeared on the band's 1973 album Brothers and Sisters during a difficult period for the group following the deaths of founding members Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. Despite those losses, the band found renewed success with "Ramblin' Man," which became their first and only Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

"I was going to send 'Ramblin' Man' to Johnny Cash," Betts told The Herald-Tribune. "This was when Johnny Cash was really vital in his younger days. I thought it was a great song for him. But everybody liked that song. Even my dad liked the song, before we recorded it or anything."

Lucky for the band, Betts decided to keep it. Blending country influences with bluesy guitar work and laid-back Southern rock swagger, the song helped define the sound of 1970s rock radio.

More than 50 years later, "Ramblin’ Man" remains an enduring classic, a song born from a casual conversation, written in minutes and transformed into one of rock's most timeless anthems.

Hudson Williams’ Makeup Artist Reveals the Inspiration Behind the ‘Heated Rivalry’ Star’s Controversial Met Gala Look

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:23pm

Hudson Williams walked up the Met Gala stairs on Monday in a flowing black train, a powder blue Balenciaga suit and red-and-blue eye makeup. His look was met with both praise and backlash, but Williams’ longtime groomer, Aika Flores, is taking it all in stride and revealing the inspiration behind the bold look.

“Taking a risk always comes at a cost, & I stand by that,” Flores shared on Threads. “There's always room to evolve, no matter where I am in my career."

Flores shared in an Instagram story on Saturday that the Heated Rivalry star's hair and makeup were inspired by the 2010 psychological horror film, Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman. Flores captioned the story as “a backstory of the blue eye.”

“Originally, I envisioned a white shadow/highlight to further embody the White Swan,” Flores said. “But once we saw the final Balenciaga look and its cool blue hue, we shifted the eye to an icy blue tone to complement it. I kept the white feathered detailing in the hair as a nod to the White Swan element of the story.”

In an interview with Vogue, Williams said he and Flores both love Black Swan, and wanted to have a reference to cinema through his hair and makeup.

“We’re creating more, staying fluid, never really locking in,” Williams said to Vogue. “We like masculinity and femininity in everything we do. This [makeup]? We’re just going crazy, having fun.”

Williams said that he thought “Aika killed it.”

In March, the Heated Rivalry star announced that he signed on to star in Apparatus, which Deadline described as “a darkly comedic thriller.” Written and directed by Sofia Banzhaf, Williams and his co-star Dylan O’Brien were recently spotted filming Apparatus in Toronto. Williams has also joined the cast of the thriller series Yaga, which is expected to be released later this year.

The 7 Best Eyeglass Frames To Brighten up Gray and Silver Hair, Stylist Reveals

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:13pm

Glasses were once a way of simply making your vision better. Outside of that, they can now actually be one of the best accessories a girl can have. Customizations to them allow us to perfectly pair them with our outfits, and even the color of our hair. In fact, it could be the ultimate addition to your look. After all, eyeglasses sit in the middle of the face and are one of the first things someone sees when they talk to you.

Some hair colors really glow once they're matched with the right eyeglass frame. This is so true for gray and silver hair, and it's best to pick out frames that don't wash you out and, instead, complement your complexion.

For celebrity stylist Emily Gray, who has styled notable individuals like Lori Loughlin and Janel Parrish, glasses have always been a really personal style choice.

"My mom, growing up, played a pretty big style influence in my life, especially when it comes to eyewear. She's in her 70s with silver hair," the stylist tells Parade. "She's actually always treated glasses as her signature accessory. I've always been able to see firsthand how much glasses, in particular, can elevate and become part of someone's identity."

Gray—who has 20 years of experience in editorial and commercial styling under her belt—says as we evolve through different chapters in life, it's important to remember that glasses can actually be "a cool accessory that a lot of people don't really think are fashionable anymore."

If you're over 50 or a certain age and think your days of worrying about the style of your glasses don't matter, think again. Ahead, Gray shares seven eyeglass frames that can brighten up gray and silver hair, while also working for mature faces in general.

"I think the biggest mistake people can often make is playing it too safe," she says. "Fashion should be fun! Especially in today’s world."

What Color Glasses Look Best on Gray Hair?

In general, Gray says that gray hair tends "to cool down the overall complexion," although it heavily depends on skin tone as well. Having said that, she suggests introducing frames based on whether you have a lighter skin tone or a warmer one in order to contrast properly.

"I obviously love bold colors," she shares. "Pops of cherry red, cobalt plum, emerald—I always feel like the jewel tones of those types of color palettes always bring a great energy and contrast. That can make someone with a darker skin tone, or dark skin tone or darker eyes really pop."

Rich tones, such as "burgundy and deep blues," are really great at bringing some life into the face, too, according to Gray.

"Softer tones like champagnes, blush or translucent frames can keep things fresh and modern as well," she notes.

She suggests that people with gray or silver hair should avoid glasses with colors that are too similar to their hair or skin tone.

"Anything too close to your skin tone or hair color can sometimes just make the face feel really washed out," she explains. "Because then the frames just kind of disappear, and they're not really enhancing anything. I just find that if you're going to be wearing glasses, it's more about creating intention and contrast."

What Glasses Look Best on an Older Face?

Gray says this inquiry comes up a lot in her styling endeavors. There are a lot of options to choose from, so she has a lot of tips up her sleeve.

"There [are] kind of two questions I get asked a lot," she reveals. "Are bold frames too much for older women? And what shapes are most flattering on mature faces?"

In terms of bold frames, Gray says they can be "very empowering" and offer confidence to many women.

"As women, we go through a lot in stages and phases of life," she explains. "I feel like it's less about age and more about personality. I've seen women in their 70s absolutely come alive from a strong frame; it becomes part of their identity."

Gray also reveals that as we age, our faces can become a bit softer. It's ideal to find frame shapes that "bring out a bit of our structure back."

She points to style icons, such as The Devil Wears Prada's Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep), and how her frames have evolved as time went on.

"In [a] 20-year difference we see her glasses change, but they evolve," she points out. "She went from having her clear frames, with darker side arms, which looked amazing on her. Clear frames are great for a silver-haired fox like her. But then she evolved to an amazing black-rimmed cat-eye in the new Devil Wears Prada 2, and she actually looks younger."

Gray says that anyone can "still be bold and evolved" even if they're at a later stage in their life.

7 Best Eyeglass Frames for Gray and Silver Hair, According to a Celebrity Stylist

With so many eyeglass frames to choose from, Gray narrows down the ones that look best on gray- and silver-haired women.

1. Bold-colored

This is perhaps one of Gray's favorite styles to suggest to gray- or silver-haired women looking for just the right fashion statement.

She says that these work best if they come in cobalt, cherry red, plum or an emerald color.

"I really like these frame options because they tend to add life and vibrancy against cool-toned hair," she reveals.

2. Warm tortoiseshell

Frames that come in a warm tortoiseshell pattern can give you a fresh-faced look, according to Gray.

"Warm tortoiseshell frames are a great option because they really bring warmth back into the complexion," she shares. "They're also youthful and playful."

3. Translucent or clear

Dianne Gralnick/Getty Images

Gray- and silver-haired women might find that clear frames are a go-to in most cases. They're perfect for someone who wants a lighter pick that doesn't distract too much from the face, according to Gray.

"They're light and modern, and don't compete with features," she explains.

4. Ombré

This eyeglass frame color gives people an easier time to "explore trends," says Gray.

"With ombré-colored glasses, you can play with various colour transitions to suit your personality," she shares.

5. Metal shape

This is a really fun pick, according to Gray. Metal-shaped glasses give people the option to be playful, without taking themselves too seriously. Plus, they're the ultimate "artistic" glasses option, she says.

"They're lightweight, and they also open up the face," she notes. "It doesn't hurt that they also add some personality."

6. Cat-eye

As faces soften over time, Gray suggestes cat-eye glasses for those with gray or silver hair. It adds a ton of great features, such as giving your face a younger look.

"These will give you a subtle lift in the face," she reveals. "They're great for softness over time."

7. Classic black

Nothing beats a classic black-framed set of eyeglasses. Gray suggests them because they offer up a "clean and timeless" sense of style. Plus, you'll get to wear them forever because black glasses are—and always will be—a staple in wardrobes.

"Find a style that suits your face shape that you will love for years to come," she explains. "Or fancy a couple of shapes and styles that you know you can alternate between, as this style never goes out of fashion."

New Psychological Thriller Inspired by Natalie Wood Mystery Earns Major Honor

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:13pm

Barnes & Noble has selected "Saltwater" by Katy Hays as its Mystery & Thriller Pick for May 2026, shining a spotlight on the psychological suspense novel that blends family secrets, wealth, paranoia and a decades-old death on the island of Capri.

The novel comes from the bestselling author of "The Cloisters" and follows the powerful Lingate family, whose carefully controlled version of history begins to unravel after a shocking discovery tied to a death that occurred 30 years earlier.

The novel has drawn attention for its connection to actress Natalie Wood. In a blog post for Barnes & Noble, Hays revealed that the lingering mystery surrounding Wood’s death at the age of just 43 helped inspire the atmosphere and emotional undercurrent of the story.

According to the author, the real-life suspicions and rumors that followed Wood’s death became part of the framework for the fictional Lingate family, whose carefully controlled version of history begins to unravel decades after a woman dies under mysterious circumstances near Capri.

The story begins in 1992, when Sarah Lingate is found dead below the cliffs of Capri, leaving behind her young daughter Helen. Though suspicions linger around the wealthy Lingate family, Sarah’s death is ultimately ruled an accident. But when the family returns to Capri decades later, they are confronted with a chilling reminder of that night: the necklace Sarah was wearing when she died suddenly reappears.

As the family fractures under mounting suspicion, Helen teams up with the family’s assistant, Lorna Moreno, while investigators reopen the case. The novel gradually pulls nearly everyone connected to the original tragedy into the mystery, including Helen’s father Richard, her aunt Naomi and uncle Marcus, along with the family’s longtime inner circle.

Barnes & Noble described the novel as “a slow-burn psychological drama about an opulent family that unravels when a decades-old crime resurfaces.” The bookseller also highlighted the story’s morally gray characters, layered twists and exploration of generational privilege.

In the blog post, Hays explained that Capri became the perfect setting for the novel because of both its glamorous atmosphere and its artistic history.

“As writers we spend more time in the world of our novels than we ever do on vacation, so I try to set my books in a locale I’m happy to revisit for several years,” Hays wrote.

Hays also explained how the real-life tragedy surrounding Natalie Wood's mysterious death in November 1981 helped shape the atmosphere surrounding the fictional Lingate family and the public suspicion that follows them for decades.

“The suspicions, rumors, and implications that still swirl around Wood’s death were, in many ways, the template for what my fictional family, the Lingates, experience,” Hays wrote.

Hays also emphasized that while the scandal surrounding the Lingates often centers on the men in the family, the women ultimately drive the novel’s action.

“It’s the women who are the most adept liars and performers,” she wrote. “And in the case of Helen and Lorna, they’re about to give the performance of a lifetime.”

With its Mediterranean backdrop, layered family dynamics and psychological tension simmering beneath the surface, "Saltwater" is positioned as one of the season’s biggest mystery releases for readers looking for a dark, atmospheric thriller heading into summer.

2010 Colossal Box Office Flop Starring a Future Oscar Winner Became an Iconic Time Capsule

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:10pm

Back in 2010, a movie packed with future Hollywood megastars bombed big time at the box office, with dismal numbers trailing The Expendablesand Eat Pray Love before quietly disappearing from theaters. That movie, of course, was Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Featuring early performances from Brie Larson,Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, and Michael Cera, the hyper-stylized comic-book comedy has a very different reputation these days. Widely considered a visionary cult classic, the film has reentered the conversation with Collider ranking it among the wildest box office flops no one saw coming.

But even though the movie tanked, many of its stars soared — perhaps none more dramatically than future Oscar winner Brie Larson.

View this post on Instagram

At the time, Larson was not yet a household name; she was known mostly for small supporting roles, including appearances in 13 Going On 30 and Greenberg. But as Envy Adams — Scott Pilgrim’s glamorous ex and the icy lead singer of The Clash at Demonhead — Larson suddenly commanded attention.

The role allowed her to channel both her musical background and razor-sharp comedic timing, especially during the now-infamous “Black Sheep” performance, which fans still obsess over. With her scene-stealing, cool-girl rock star energy, Larson became one of the biggest breakout stories, paving the way for later triumphs including Short Term 12, Room, and the Captain Marvel franchise.

Directed and co-written by Edgar Wright, the film about a guy who has to defeat his new girlfriend's exes to find happiness had a ton of momentum and a massive amount of star power behind it. The buzz at Comic-Con was electric, and early critical reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Still, none of the above translated into dollars.

The film struggled to expand beyond its niche graphic novel fanbase and hit theaters before gamer culture had crossed over into the mainstream. Pummeled by confusing marketing and poor timing, the film earned an estimated $47 million against a $60 million budget.

In the years that followed, as internet meme culture and comic-book-inspired fare became the status quo, Scott Pilgrim began to look more like a prediction and less like a misfire. Younger audiences discovered the film, older viewers revisited it, and the film’s rep shifted.

At the same time, the cast quietly began to conquer Hollywood, with Evans and Larson entering the Marvel Universe. In hindsight,  Wright’s hyperactive film finally became the language of online culture. In other words: Culture caught up.

In 2016, Larson won an Oscar for her performance in Room. Across the board, the film’s ensemble cast has only become more impressive. What once looked like a colossal Hollywood mistake now feels like a time capsule packed with future icons doing their thing before the rest of the world caught up.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is available to rent or buy on Prime Video.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy Is Going Back to His Reality TV Roots—With His Family

Sat, 05/09/2026 - 2:05pm

Long before Sean Duffy was the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, the politician was a reality TV star. Way back in the ‘90s (1997 to be precise), Duffy debuted in The Real World: Boston. And now the former congressman is ready to hit the small screen again in a brand-new family-focused reality series, The Great American Road Trip. And no, it has absolutely nothing to do with MTV’s Road Rules.

WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 07: U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy unveils Amtrak’s Freedom 250 Acela Train at Union Station on May 07, 2026 in Washington, DC. The new Amtrak train departed from Union Station and headed to William H. Gray III 30th Street Station in Philadelphia with a group of 4th graders and Secretary Duffy for the train's inaugural ride. MTV revolutionized the way viewers watched TV, introducing a fully unscripted series in 1992. The original Real World featured “Seven strangers picked to live in a house, work together, and have their lives taped to find out when people stop being polite and start getting real.” The New York cast struck a chord with Gen X, ushering in the age of reality TV.

Following the show’s NYC season, MTV moved the series to other major cities. Los Angeles, San Francisco (where we first met Duffy’s future wife, Rachel Campos), London, Miami, and then in ‘97…Boston. When Duffy moved into the firehouse with castmates Montana, Syrus, Genesis, Kameelah, Elka, and Jason, he was just a plaid-clad Midwestern competitive lumberjack with an innocent charm.

Of course, this wasn’t Duffy’s only stint on an MTV reality series. He returned the following year, starring in the spinoff, Road Rules: All Stars. Duffy, and as the show’s name implies, a few other all-stars, crammed into an RV and traveled across the country. New York’s Eric Nies, L.A.’s Jon Brennan, Miami’s Cynthia Roberts, and San Francisco’s Rachel Campos joined Duffy for the road trip of a lifetime.

In the first episode, Duffy meets his now-wife, Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, saying, “Rachel’s a cool girl, very bubbly…and I like her right off the bat.” And almost 30 years later, the pair are happily married with one (yes, nine!) children.

Sean Duffy’s New Family Reality Series

Duffy and Campos are going back on the road. But this time, they’re bringing their brood. Even though gas prices are skyrocketing, the rising cost of fuel isn't stopping Duffy from airing his on-the-road family vacation.

The Transportation Secretary quietly filmed his new reality show, The Great American Road Trip,  over the past seven months. In an interview on Fox News, he explained, “I want to lean in to America’s 250th birthday. Rachel and I actually met on a road trip on a reality show. And so over the course of seven months, we just kind of found these moments where I might be able to do some work. I could take the kids with me on a road trip. Oh yeah, and our motto is ‘To love America, is to see America.’ And there’s so much to see in this beautiful country.”

You can watch The Great American Road Trip with the Duffy family online starting this June.
