If your porch light barely reaches the driveway or your backyard gets too dark once the sun goes down, Walmart has an outdoor lighting deal worth checking before the Fourth of July. Right now, the Ume LED Motion-Sensing Dual Head Floodlight is on sale for just $20 in black, down from $40. It also comes in white, which is marked down to $25.
The floodlight features two adjustable heads, so you can angle it toward multiple areas instead of keeping it pointed in one direction. It puts out 2,000 lumens, so it should be much brighter than a small porch fixture. It also has 5000K daylight brightness, which gives off a crisp white light, and the motion sensor can detect movement up to 50 feet away with a 120-degree field of view.
Ume LED Motion-Sensing Dual Head Floodlight, $20 (was $40) at Walmart Shop at WalmartThe motion sensor is designed to turn the light on when someone walks by, and you can set it to stay on for one, three, or 10 minutes. And since the heads and sensor are adjustable, you have more control over where the light reaches. It does need to be hardwired, though, so it’s best for replacing an existing outdoor fixture or for anyone comfortable with that type of installation.
One shopper said the light is “very easy to install and brightens up the area very well,” adding that the sensor’s distance is ideal and activates as it should. Another reviewer noted it’s “great for security,” while a third called it “very bright.”
The biggest benefit of a hardwired floodlight is that you don’t have to deal with batteries or rely on sunlight to keep it charged. Plus, with 2,000-lumen brightness, an IP65 waterproof rating, and a $20 sale price on the black version, it’s a super practical and durable upgrade that costs much less than other similar lights.

This new category evaluates innovative stories that expand on traditional environmental stories. Work eligible for the award may look at environmental concerns or follow characters whose stories are connected to climate issues.
“He [Redford] elevated overlooked voices and spotlighted urgent issues. This award honors his legacy by recognizing exceptional storytelling that deepens our understanding of environmental challenges while inspiring action,” Tidman said.
The Film Independent Spirit Awards are proud to celebrate the work and legacy of the two-time Academy Award winner.

Accused Killer of Actor James Handy Ruled Unfit for Trial
The man who is accused of fatally stabbing actor James Handy has been found mentally unfit to stand trial, CBS News reports
In a competency hearing on Monday, June 22, Michael Gledhill was not present in court, but his public defenders were there. Before the hearing, Gledhill was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
And based on the result, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maria Cavalluzzi ruled that Gledhill does not understand the case against him, which has made him unable to assist in his own defense. With that, the judge added that Gledhill can not make medication decisions.
Cavalluzzi also ruled that Gledhill can be involuntarily medicated for one year, which is based on a psychiatrist's determination that his mental health can be helped with the proper medications.
He is set to appear in court on July 14 for a hearing on his long-term placement.
His case can still head to trial if he is later found to be competent.
Gledhill is the son of Handy’s girlfriend, Wendy Gledhill, with three having lived together at Handy’s Tarzana, Calif., home. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a stabbing on Wednesday, June 3, and found Handy unconscious in his front yard with a wound to his chest. He was transported to a hospital and was pronounced dead.
In a statement shared by police shortly after Handy's death, they revealed that Gledhill "flagged down nearby responding officers, telling them he was the one they were looking for." He is also said to have made a “bizarre” 911 call where he told dispatchers, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin." He was arrested and booked on one count of murder, with his bail being set at $2,000,000.00.
His mother, Wendy, previously spoke with TMZ to talk about her son's mental health struggles, saying that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia in July 2025.

Knicks Star Jalen Brunson Just Wrote a Children's Book — and It's Perfect for Little Fans
Basketball superstar Jalen Brunson just helped the New York Knicks win their first NBA Championship in 53 years, and now he’s…writing a children’s book!
Some athletes might take a victory lap on a private jet, and others might spend the next few months partying. But Brunson is trying to release a new picture book ASAP.
So what exactly is the dad’s (he shares almost-two-year-old daughter, Jordyn Brunson, with his wife, Ali Marks) first try at kid lit about? Well, of course, it’’s about sports. But don’t expect a bio or a basketball-only book. Brunson wants to empower kiddos by sharing his journey from a child athlete to an NBA star. Along with basketball, Brunson’s story will also include the many different athletic activities he explored in his earlier years.
The NBA player recently told PEOPLE, “I hope kids read this book and realize they don’t have to have everything figured out.” Brunson continued, “Keep trying new things, keep learning, and keep putting in the work. You never know where these experiences might take you.”
Titled ‘Jalen Plays It All,’ the book is written by Jalen, illustrated by Neely Daggett, and published by Feiwel & Friends.
On Tuesday, Brunson posted a brief description on Instagram that reads, “The children’s book is a story about discovering that success doesn't happen overnight. There are mistakes, setbacks, and moments when giving up may feel easier than pushing forward.”
Brunson continued, “And while basketball was always at the center of my journey, every sport I played helped build the habits, character, and work ethic that made me who I am.”
View this post on InstagramWhat do fans think of Brunson penning a kids’ book? Based on the comments in his post, they’re more than just excited about this new endeavor for the Knicks player. One wrote, “I’ve seen enough; give this man the Pulitzer,” while others commented, “I have a 15yo, 13yo, and 8yo. Not another star I would rather them watch and be inspired by”, “Amazing. I can’t wait to read this to my class,” and “I’ll be the first in line.”
Then there were these fans' priceless reactions: “I haven’t read a book in 15 years, but I’ll be reading this one (no kid)” and “Lotta grown a** men gonna have this book.”
As of now, there is no release date, but the basketball superhero does say, in his recent Instagram post, that it’s coming “next year” and is “Available to preorder wherever you buy books.”
Marshalls' 2-Pack of Washable Rugs Comes in the Most Magical Cottagecore Print
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
I've never been someone who believes every room in a home has to match perfectly. In fact, a little mix-and-match charm is often what makes a space feel collected rather than straight out of a catalog. (Not that I wouldn't mind hanging my hot in a spot that looks like a Crate & Barrel showroom.) That said, having a set of area rugs in the same print feels kind of nice. Suddenly, it looks like you had a decorating plan all along. It's a small detail that ties spaces together.
Area rugs do a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to decor, too. They add color, texture and warmth, plus they help define spaces. A good rug can even soften a room, making furniture feel grounded. Of course, the dream is finding rugs that are both stylish and practical, especially in high-traffic areas where spills and muddy shoes are a fact of life.
Sanderson 2-Pack Clementine Border Floral Print Washable Rugs, $39.99 at MarshallsMarshalls
Shop It!That's why I'm just slightly obsessed with a new set of washable rugs from Marshalls that feature a charming cottagecore-inspired look. The Sanderson Clementine Border Floral Print Washable Rugs come in a two-pack that includes a 24-by-36-inch runner and a two-by-five-foot rectangular area rug.
Related: Target's 3-Tier Rustic-Modern Kitchen Island Has a Luxe Look Without a Hefty Price Tag
Aside from just how pretty it is, one thing I like about this rug set is that the two sizes can work in completely different spots around the house while still making everything feel connected. The larger two-by-five-foot rug is a great fit for a hallway, galley kitchen, laundry room or along one side of a bed, while the smaller two-by-three-foot rug works nicely in front of a kitchen sink, bathroom vanity or entryway.
Using the same print in multiple spaces creates that subtle pulled-together look that makes it seem like you have a decorating master plan, even if you're really just choosing pieces you like.
If you're washing a washable rug, start by shaking it out or vacuuming it to remove loose debris. Use a mild detergent, wash on a gentle cycle with cold water, and skip bleach or fabric softener, which can damage fibers or leave behind residue. Be sure the rug fits comfortably in your machine—overstuffing can prevent it from actually getting clean. When it's done, air-drying is your safest bet, especially for rugs with nonslip backing, though some can be dried on low heat if the care instructions allow it.

Peter, Paul and Mary’s Noel Stookey’s Just Made Savage Remarks About Bob Dylan, and Fans Are Not Happy
Peter, Paul and Mary's Noel Stookey just shocked fans with some savage comments targeting Bob Dylan.
Stookey, 88, who rose to stardom in his legendary American folk music group alongside Peter Yarrow and Mary Travers, was asked about Dylan's avid touring schedule in a new interview. While Stookey admitted that he recently attended a Dylan concert in Boston, it was his shocking comments that followed that turned the heads of readers.
When asked about how Dylan still performs nearly 100 shows a year, Stookey, who has covered several Dylan classics over the years with his band, including "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," said, “I’m saddened by it.”
“Because that’s all he’s got. I mean, that’s all he’s got. He hides behind a piano when he plays. I saw him recently in Boston. It must be really, really difficult for him to have a real relationship with somebody. I mean, unless he’s got a separate little place that he runs to, in which case, God bless you, Bob Dylan," Stookey added during the Rolling Stone interview, PEOPLE reported.
Stookey, who last spoke with Dylan at a television event in 1986, noted that he didn't really enjoy the Boston show all that much.
“No, because he wasn’t there. I mean, his body was there, but he didn’t reach out to me. I didn’t feel — he was just doing — it’s like he was doing a show in spite of the fact that we were there rather than because we were there,” Stookey told the publication.
Stookey's Early Bob Dylan MemoriesStookey also opened up about his early memories of seeing Dylan perform at The Gaslight Cafe in New York City.
“The first time he came in, he had that nasal set to his vocal cords, and he did basically Woody Guthrie tunes. It was nothing really great, and he asked if he could do a guest set, and I said, ‘Sure,’ because part of being an emcee was also kind of arranging the talent so that two singers didn’t go in a row,” Stookey shared.
Dylan returned a few weeks later and gave a much more complex performance.
“That was to me the beginning of the appreciation of how rich Dylan’s writing was, is, and could be. Because of that, I was already starting to work with Peter and Mary, and I knew Albert Grossman because he had put the trio together, and I said to Albert, ‘You’ve got to come down and hear this guy. He’s pretty remarkable,’ and that was the beginning of Dylan’s relationship with Grossman,” Stookey noted.

‘White Lotus’ Alum Changed Her Name at 13—And the Person Who Encouraged Her May Surprise You
At 13 years old, LISA made a choice that would shape the way the world knew her. The reason behind her name change, however, wasn’t what fans might expect.
"I don’t know about the culture here, but in Thailand, it’s fun to go see a fortune teller," LISA told Vanity Fair. During the visit, LISA, whose real name is Pranpriya Manobal, inquired about her future. At the time, the fortune teller suggested that the singer change her name to something that was more favorable.
At the time, LISA—then Pranpriya—thought, "You know what? I’ll do anything."
Now, 29-years-old, LISA has found success in the music industry as part of the K-Pop group BLACKPINK alongside Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé.
View this post on Instagram“We’re really grateful," she told Vanity Fair of the success of BLACKPINK. "We feel so lucky that we have a global fandom who always supports us."
Lisa also starred in the third season of HBO's The White Lotus, but you won't see her recognizable name in the credits. According to Variety, she's credited as Lalisa Manoban. Acting was a big change for LISA, who told the outlet that she was "so nervous" on the first day of filming. "I was sweating. I was like, ‘I can’t remember my lines. I’m blanked!'" she added.
"I’m a huge fan of “The White Lotus,” and I got this opportunity to play Mook. I’d never acted before, but I’m just going to try and going to give it a shot. Like, why not? I was so lucky and happy that I got the role," she also told the outlet.
LISA has done the work to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Her popularity is apparent on social media as well—she's amassed an impressive 105 million followers on Instagram!

These 7 Subtle Phrases Sound Dismissive, Even When You Don't Mean To Be, a Psychologist Says
One thing you might have learned the hard way is that even the most well-intentioned phrases can come across wrong—and affect your relationship with someone. Case in point: the surprising phrases that make you "instantly unlikable" (at least for the moment). There’s also no forgetting about phrases people think sound confident, but actually come off arrogant. Our behavior can have unintended consequences, too; for example, certain habits make parents seem controlling even when they don’t mean to be.
Those unfortunate and common miscommunications can make us feel a whole host of ways: embarrassed, guilty, anxious, defensive and more. It’s important to give ourselves grace and remember this happens to everyone, and we can continue to educate ourselves on what those phrases are so we can avoid confusion, communicate more clearly and practice social etiquette. That can help us have more successful, effective and comfortable conversations with others, whether that’s at work, a social gathering, with family or somewhere else.
One common misstep we’ll focus on today is making someone feel disregarded when, in reality, you’re trying to make them feel better about their situation. Ahead, a psychologist shares seven subtle phrases that you may not realize sound dismissive, plus what that feels like for the other person and how to help others feel heard (even when you don’t totally understand or agree).
What Being Dismissed Feels LikeFirst, knowing exactly what we’re talking about here and how it can make another person feel is crucial.
“Being dismissed often feels like being told that your emotional experience is wrong, irrelevant or unreasonable,” Dr. Shannon Sauer-Zavala, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist, mental health treatment expert and author of The BPD Compass Workbook, tells Parade.
You might feel like you’re “stupid” or “overly emotional” for feeling the way you do, or that you’re “just being dramatic.” And that doesn’t feel good.
One sign that someone feels dismissed is if they are working hard to prove that their feelings make sense—which could escalate conflict, unfortunately, if you don’t respond with empathy and compassion.
Related: 9 Phrases That Give Off a Bad Vibe Without You Even Realizing It, According to a Psychologist
7 Dismissive Phrases That People Accidentally Say, According to a PsychologistNow, let’s jump into the phrases that sound dismissive, even when you don’t mean them that way. A psychologist explains each.
1. “You’re overthinking it”Have you ever said this to someone in hopes of making them feel better? Maybe you meant to name their anxiety as anxiety, versus a truth rooted in fact. That’s understandable—and it might still make the other person feel dismissed.
“Although often intended as reassurance, this phrase can communicate that the person’s concerns aren’t worthy of consideration,” Dr. Sauer-Zavala says.
Instead, she encourages saying something like, “I can see you’ve been thinking about this a lot.”
2. “Just let it go”It would be nice if we could always let our thoughts and feelings go, but they can be sticky.
“People rarely hold onto painful emotions because they want to,” Dr. Sauer-Zavala states. “This phrase can make it seem as though they're choosing to suffer.”
3. “It’s not a big deal"Similar to the overthinking phrase, people often say this to help lower anxiety—but it can make someone feel worse.
“The message often lands as, ‘Your reaction is too intense,’” Dr. Sauer-Zavala explains. “A better response might be, ‘I can see why this feels important to you.’”
4. “At least…”Pointing out a silver lining won’t always make it better, and it can even cause a person to feel invalidated.
“Optimism can be an effective tool, but it is important to process negative feelings first,” Dr. Sauer-Zavala advises.
Related: 35 Common Toxic Positivity Phrases To Stop Using—Plus, What To Say Instead
5. “I know exactly how you feel”While you may share an experience or feeling with someone, this probably isn’t the time to say it.
“Although the intention may be to provide empathy, this statement can inadvertently shift the focus away from the other person’s experience,” Dr. Sauer-Zavala explains.
Instead, she recommends asking more questions about the situation and not assuming you understand how they feel.
6. “Calm down”This is “one of the quickest ways to make someone feel misunderstood,” according to Dr. Sauer-Zavala.
“People generally calm down when they feel heard, not when they're instructed to calm down,” she adds.
7. “You’re being too sensitive”This phrase pretty much perfectly matches what being dismissed feels like: that your emotional experience is wrong, irrelevant or unreasonable. And that you're just highly sensitive.
“The phrase implies that the problem lies with the person’s emotional response rather than the situation itself,” Dr. Sauer-Zavala says. “Even if someone is highly sensitive, dismissing the feeling rarely helps them regulate it.”
Feeling like an emotion you’re having is “dumb” or “unnecessary” will only exacerbate the distress you feel.
Related: 13 Things People Say in Conversation That Make Them Instantly Unlikable, Etiquette Experts Warn
How To Help People Feel Heard InsteadThe opposite of dismissing someone is helping them feel heard and validated. How can we do that, especially if and when we don’t understand their feelings?
Ultimately, the most effective option is to see where a person is coming from, as much as you can, and to practice validation.
“Validation does not mean agreeing with someone or endorsing their behavior,” Dr. Sauer-Zavala clarifies. “It simply means communicating that their feelings make sense given their perspective and circumstances.”
She shares some good, go-to phrases you can choose from, saying they “can dramatically change the tone of a conversation”:
- “I can see why you’d feel that way.”
- “That sounds really frustrating.”
- “Tell me more about what that was like for you.”
In other words, rather than completely agreeing with someone’s perspective or challenging it, try to understand the appropriate middle ground, she says.
“When people feel understood, they're often more open to problem-solving, compromise and alternative viewpoints,” she states

Reality TV Star Behind $1.5 Million Cookie Brand Just Added a Classic New Flavor
Melissa Gorga is expanding her cookie empire.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 47, has added a new flavor to her rapidly growing Let's Sprinkle by MG brand, introducing a chocolate chip cookie packed with the colorful sprinkles that helped make her business a success.
The launch marks the latest chapter for a company that began with a family recipe and has since grown into a multimillion-dollar venture.
While chocolate chip cookies are hardly a new concept, Gorga's version puts a signature twist on the classic treat by baking sprinkles directly into the cookie. The new addition joins the brand's existing lineup of sprinkle cookies, which have become a recognizable part of her business since its debut in late 2024.
"Chocolate chip cookies are a classic, but I wanted to make them mine and that means sprinkles—always," Gorga said in a statement announcing the launch.
The reality star's cookie business traces its roots back much further than its official launch date. Longtime RHONJ viewers may remember Gorga's Italian family sprinkle cookie recipe from earlier seasons of the show, where it became an unexpectedly memorable fan favorite.
More than a decade later, she turned that family tradition into a full-fledged business.
Since launching Let's Sprinkle by MG in December 2024, the brand has reportedly generated more than $1.5 million in sales and expanded beyond online orders into grocery stores throughout the Northeast. The cookies are now carried by retailers including ShopRite, Kings Food Markets, Morton Williams and Top Tomato Supermarket.
The expansion comes as celebrity-founded food brands continue to gain traction with consumers, particularly when tied to a personal story or family recipe. For Gorga, that connection appears to be resonating with fans who first encountered the cookies through her television career.
The new chocolate chip sprinkle cookies are now available for nationwide shipping through the company's website.

Here’s Exactly What Happens to Your Liver When You Eat Bananas
Bananas are hands down one of the most popular fruits in the U.S. According to a survey conducted by The Packer, a produce industry publication, nearly 83% of grocery shoppers purchased bananas within 12 months before being surveyed. The fruit is even more widely consumed than apples, according to the survey.
Bananas are packed with nutrients, including fiber, vitamin C and potassium. Eating bananas regularly supports heart health, helps with digestion, supports the immune system, helps with blood sugar control, can assist with weight loss and even can lead to better sleep.

If you are among the 25% of people in the U.S. with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), formally known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, you may be wondering if eating bananas regularly can support your liver. On the one hand, it’s packed with nutrients. But on the other hand, bananas contain a fair amount of naturally occurring sugars, and it’s been scientifically shown that a diet high in sugar can be detrimental to liver health.
To learn more about how eating bananas regularly impacts liver health, Parade talked to Dr. Qin Rao, MD, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with Manhattan Gastroenterology.
🩺SIGN UP for tips to stay healthy & fit with the top moves, clean eats, health trends & more delivered right to your inbox twice a week💊
How Eating Bananas Regularly Impacts Liver HealthDr. Rao says that there are several ways that eating bananas regularly supports liver health. One big one is its high fiber content. “Fiber helps support liver health by promoting a healthy weight, improving blood sugar control and reducing fat buildup in the liver. It may also help lower inflammation, which is important for preventing liver disease progression."
To this point, a 2023 scientific study published in Frontiers in Public Health found that maintaining a high-fiber diet is associated with a lower risk of MASLD. Similar to what Dr. Rao explained, the researchers say that this is largely because high-fiber diets are associated with weight loss, and maintaining a healthy weight is key to liver health.
It’s not a coincidence that fiber supports both the gut and the liver. “The gut and liver are closely connected through what is known as the gut-liver axis. Blood from the intestines flows directly to the liver, so substances produced in the gut can affect liver health. When the gut is healthy, it helps reduce inflammation and supports normal liver function,” Dr. Rao explains.
The inverse is true, too: An unhealthy gut can allow harmful bacteria and toxins to reach the liver, contributing to fatty liver disease and liver inflammation. “Eating fiber-rich foods, such as bananas, helps support beneficial gut bacteria and may indirectly benefit the liver,” he says.
Bananas are a notoriously good source of potassium, and while many people think of this electrolyte in the context of supporting heart health, potassium is good for the liver too. “Potassium may support liver health by helping improve insulin sensitivity and reducing inflammation. Some studies have found that people who consume more potassium have a lower risk of fatty liver disease and liver scarring,” Dr. Rao says.
As with other fruits, bananas are high in antioxidants, which is another way they benefit the liver. Dr. Rao explains that antioxidants protect the body from oxidative stress, a process that can contribute to liver inflammation and damage.

Is the Sugar in Bananas Bad for the Liver? While it’s clear that bananas are full of nutrients that benefit the liver, they also contain a decent amount of sugar. Minimizing sugar content is important for preventing or reversing MASLD, making it confusing to know if bananas are truly good for the liver or not.
Dr. Rao emphasizes that the natural sugars in bananas are not associated with liver disease. “Unlike sugary drinks and processed foods, bananas also contain fiber, vitamins and antioxidants that slow sugar absorption and provide health benefits,” he says.
While fruit is certainly a healthier choice than ultra-processed foods high in sugar, the science is mixed on whether increasing fruit consumption truly supports liver health. A 2024 review published in Frontiers in Nutrition found that a diet high in fruits and vegetables is linked to a lower risk of MASLD. But a 2022 study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology had a different conclusion. The study included 80 adults with MASLD. One group ate at least four servings of fruit a day for six months. A second group ate less than two servings of fruit for six months. At the end of the six months, the fruit-eating group had a significantly higher BMI than the group that ate less fruit.
The TakeawayWhat should you take away from these mixed results? “Bananas can be a healthy addition to a liver-friendly diet, but the overall eating pattern matters most. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and fish provides the strongest support for long-term liver health,” Dr. Rao says.
In other words, incorporating a banana into your breakfast or lunch every day can’t outweigh a diet that consists primarily of foods and drinks that are detrimental to liver health (namely, ultra-processed foods high in sugar and salt, sugary drinks and alcoholic drinks). But bananas can absolutely be an integral part of a diet that supports liver health.
As long as the rest of your diet is supporting your liver, adding a banana into the mix can help play a supporting role. It certainly makes having one for a snack appealing!

Mike Myers just dropped another clue that a fourth installment of the Austin Powers franchise is on its way.
The comedy legend, 62, who got his start on Saturday Night Live, is known as the star of films like Wayne’s World and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. In a new post to his Instagram, Myers sent another signal that indicated a fourth Installment of Austin Powers is in the works. He just shared a selfie alongside some of his legendary Austin Powers castmates, like Rob Lowe and Seth Green. While it's clear the selfie was taken on the set of the recent Verizon commercial, the group filmed together, it's the caption that really got people talking about a new sequel.
"Had a delightfully EVIL time getting this band back together! We’ll have to do it again soon mwah-hah-hah-hah #austinpowers," Myers captioned the photo, which showed him in full Dr. Evil costume on the set of the commercial.
View this post on Instagram Myers Confirmed There Will Be a Fourth Austin PowersThe comedy icon's new tease comes on the tail of major news he shared last week. Myers was asked by a fan on Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party whether there would be an Austin Powers 4. Myers responded with a simple “yes," and didn't elaborate any further.
View this post on InstagramBack in 2020, franchise director Jay Roach told Deadline that the potential for a fourth installment of the franchise all depends on whether Myers has something that really inspires him to delve into a new film.
“I wouldn’t say ‘never’ never, but it does depend on Mike having something that he’s inspired about and after all these years it hasn’t quite clicked yet. But I’m always game for anything he wants to do. He’s a genius and he helped me get started and it was a blast,” Roach added.
Maybe that stroke of inspiration has struck!
The Hit Austin Powers Verizon CommercialLast week, Verizon debuted its new Menace Mobile commercial, which featured Myers in full Dr. Evil garb alongside Green, Lowe, and Mindy Sterling, who plays Frau Farbissina.
Myers Just Received a Major Canadian HonorMyers has been plenty busy these days. Last month, he received a special award at the Canadian Screen Awards.
While Myers is a U.S. citizen, the Canadian-born actor is wildly proud of his native country. You may recall that in April 2025, he appeared alongside Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in a TV ad wearing a jersey that read “Never 51,” in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s 51st state taunts against Canada, THR reminded us. Myers later returned to his other home turf, Saturday Night Live, and made a statement by wearing a “Canada is not for sale” T-shirt.

The One Thing Rachel Cruze Says You're Probably Doing Wrong With Your Emergency Fund
Many personal finance experts say that having an emergency fund is one of the best things you can do. However, financial expert and author Rachel Cruze takes that classic advice one step further in a new TikTok video, telling her followers that where they keep their emergency fund can make the biggest difference.
Her advice actually makes a lot of sense, and you may find yourself making money moves after learning why she says you need to keep your emergency savings somewhere special.
@rachelcruzeIf your emergency fund is sitting in your checking account, there's a good chance it doesn't feel very "emergency only." 😅 The more accessible money is, the easier it is to justify dipping into it for things that aren't actually emergencies. That's why I recommend keeping your emergency fund in a separate high-yield savings account. Give it its own place, let it grow, and keep it there for the things that really matter. Future you will be glad it's there when life happens. #moneytok #money #savings
♬ original sound - Rachel Cruze Why Cruze Says Your Emergency Fund Needs Its Own HomeIt's not enough just to have an emergency fund, according to Cruze, who says where you keep it is almost as important. She shared her message on her popular TikTok account, telling her followers that keeping your emergency fund in your checking account could turn into an expensive mistake.
"Do not do this, because things are gonna come up in life and you're gonna be like, 'Oh, yeah, I'll just use some of this here,'" she said, noting that having easy access to the money makes it easier to spend on non-emergencies.
Instead, she says people should put their emergency fund to work by investing it in something that can earn interest. "Have a separate account, a high-yield savings account, just for your emergency fund," she continued, advising her followers to start off with $1,000 in their account. After that, she says you should pay off all of your consumer debt before increasing that $1,000 to cover between three to six months' worth of expenses.
"That is a fully funded emergency fund," she continued. "But it needs its own place, its own home. Put it aside. Don't keep it in your checking account."
Her Followers Had a Lot to SayPeople flocked to the comments to share their opinions about Cruze's advice, with many people agreeing with her. "I learned this lesson the hard way. My Financial Peace advisor gave me this advice years ago, and it was a total game changer," one person wrote.
"Love keeping [my money separate]," another person wrote. "If it [isn 't] there, there's no temptation to spend."
And the Data Backs Her UpAccording to NerdWallet, a high-yield savings account is a great place to park your money while you're trying to build up your emergency fund. However, the publication takes it one step further and says that the real savings can be found with online accounts because these financial institutions often have less overhead, thanks to not having a physical presence, which can result in higher interest rates and zero fees.
They recommend the following accounts:
- CIT Bank Platinum Savings, which has a rate of up to 4.10 percent
- Marcus by Goldman Sachs Online Savings Account, which has a rate of up to 3.40 percent
- Forbright Bank Growth Savings, which has a rate of up to 4.15 percent
Please note: These rates are current as of June 2026, and can fluctuate from month to month.
Of course, you'll want to check into these accounts before making any deposits, and confirm whether they have annual fees, minimum account balances, and how quickly you can access your money if a true emergency does come up.

Jenny Mollen Thinks Divorce From Jason Biggs Fueled Backlash Over Controversial Photo With Son
Jenny Mollen believes there may be more to the backlash over her controversial photo with her son than the image itself.
The actress and author appeared on Not Skinny but Not Fat on Tuesday, June 23, where she reflected on the criticism she received after sharing a photo of herself back in May embracing her 12-year-old son, Sid, alongside the caption, “Your oldest child will be the most toxic guy you ever date.”
The post sparked heated debate online, with critics accusing Mollen of crossing boundaries and others defending the joke as consistent with the type of parenting humor she's shared for years.
But what stood out to Mollen, however, was the timing. A few weeks before the controversy erupted, the 47-year-old and actor Jason Biggs publicly confirmed their separation after nearly two decades together. Looking back, she thinks the reaction may have been very different had she still been publicly viewed as part of a couple.
“I think that if I had made this joke a month ago, two months ago, it would have played differently,” Mollen said on the podcast. “I think that there's something about a woman who is not attached to a man that somehow reads as a threat, dangerous.”
🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬
The backlash surprised Mollen largely because she says the joke wasn't new. “I've been making this joke forever,” she explained. “I've been like a voice on motherhood in a lot of ways.”
According to the actress, critics weren't just reacting to the photo itself. “They're sexualizing, moralizing; They're reading their own sh*t into it and saying, ‘Yeah, this woman is a threat,’” she said.
The criticism became so intense that Mollen said she broke down in tears. During that time, Biggs stepped in to support her. “I had just been like crying,” she recalled. “Jason had come over and was like, ‘You know, do you want me to say something?’”
While she appreciated the gesture, Mollen ultimately decided to address the situation herself. Instead of issuing a statement, she wrote a personal essay about the experience on her Substack.
Mollen and Biggs announced their separation on May 14 after 18 years of marriage. In addition to Sid, they are also parents to Lazlo, 9.
As far as their relationship now, Mollen says they’re still close. “We live in two different places, but we're still tethered,” Mollen said. “We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone's schedule and after school and holidays.”
Though their marriage has ended, she says the relationship itself hasn't disappeared. “We still love each other,” Mollen shared. “It's just the end of the romantic part. It's a different type of romance.”
