1966 Rock Classic Became a No. 1 Hit in the U.K. 60 Years Ago Today

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 12:15pm

In 1966, The Beatles were riding a wave of success. With hit after hit topping the charts, the group was at its creative peak. Yet at the same time, their world tour turned chaotic as they faced exhaustion and security concerns ahead of their final concert in San Francisco.

But before the chaos erupted, there was “Paperback Writer.”

60 years ago today, “Paperback Writer” became The Beatles’ 10th consecutive No. 1 hit in the U.K. It was the band’s first hit that wasn’t written about love — in fact, it was inspired by a question posed by Paul McCartney’s aunt: why did he always write about love?

“Years ago, my Auntie Lil said to me, ‘Why do you always write songs about love all the time? Can’t you ever write about a horse or the summit conference or something interesting?’” McCartney recalled, according to an interview for Keith Badman’s book The Beatles Off the Record. “So, I thought, ‘All right, Auntie Lil.’ And recently, we’ve not been writing all our songs about love.”

McCartney set aside some time to write with John Lennon. Arriving at his home in Weybridge, the two got to work.

“You knew, the minute you got there, cup of tea and you’d sit and write, so it was always good if you had a theme,” McCartney said for the book Many Years From Now. “I’d had a thought for a song and somehow it was to do with the Daily Mail so there might have been an article in the Mail that morning about people writing paperbacks. Penguin paperbacks was what I really thought of, the archetypal paperback.”

Although Lennon is credited as a writer on the song, he recalled in an interview with Hit Parader that McCartney was the one who did most of the work on it.

“I think I might have helped with some of the lyrics,” Lennon said in 1972. “Yes, I did. But it was mainly Paul’s tune.”

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 12:15pm

Panera Bread is giving customers plenty of new reasons to stop by this summer. As part of a major menu refresh that launched on June 17, the bakery-café chain has rolled out an expanded lineup of bowls, salads, breakfast offerings, coffee beverages and seasonal drinks designed to deliver more variety and value.

The centerpiece of the new menu is the introduction of Market Bowls, a completely new category for Panera. These chef-inspired meals start at $9.99 and are built around protein-rich ingredients and vibrant flavors.

Guests can choose from three options—the Sesame Ginger Chicken Market Bowl, the Carnitas Elote Market Bowl and the All-In Veggie Market Bowl. Each bowl is designed to be a filling meal while showcasing upgraded ingredients and bold flavor combinations.

The addition of Market Bowls also marks a notable shift for Panera, which has focused heavily on soups, sandwiches and salads.

Salad lovers will also find several new premium options. The Ultimate Garden Steak Salad combines fresh vegetables and steak for a heartier meal, while the Farmhouse Crunch Salad offers a mix of textures and flavors for customers seeking something satisfying and fresh.

Perhaps the most talked-about addition is the Shrimply Baja Salad, which brings shrimp back to Panera's menu after roughly a 10-year absence. The return of shrimp is likely to attract longtime fans who have been waiting for the seafood option to make a comeback.

Breakfast is receiving attention too. Panera has introduced two new frittatas—Broccoli Cheddar and Five Cheese and Bacon. These portable egg-based breakfast items are designed for customers seeking a convenient but protein-packed morning meal. Panera is also offering a new Asiago Croissant Twist for just $1, making it an inexpensive add-on that could appeal to both breakfast and lunch customers.

The beverage lineup has expanded significantly. Panera is entering the frozen coffee space with new Frozen Java drinks, while also introducing Café Blend Iced Coffees in flavors such as Snickerdoodle, Hazelnut Mocha and Rocky Road. These beverages offer more dessert-inspired coffee choices during the warmer months.

For guests looking for something fruity and refreshing, the summer menu includes the Island Mango Energy Refresher and Blackberry Hibiscus Herbal Iced Tea. Both drinks are designed to complement the warmer weather and provide alternatives to traditional soft drinks and coffee beverages.

The summer launch represents one of Panera's largest menu updates in recent years. Company leaders have said the goal is to offer stronger value, upgraded ingredients and more variety while encouraging both loyal guests and former customers to revisit the brand.

By introducing entirely new menu categories, bringing back shrimp, and expanding its beverage selection, Panera is signaling that it wants to compete not only as a bakery-café but also as a destination for complete meals throughout the day.

Whether customers are looking for a hearty bowl, a premium salad, a quick breakfast or a frozen coffee treat, Panera's Summer 2026 menu offers a wider range of choices than ever before—and let's be honest, it sounds pretty epic.

Queen of Pop Reveals the Surprising ‘Popcorn’ Diet That Helps Her Stay Fit at 67

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 12:12pm

When it comes to favorite foods, the Queen of Pop keeps it surprisingly simple.

Madonna opened up about her favorite snack during a conversation with Interview magazine editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg, published Monday, June 22. "Can I eat popcorn while I'm talking?" The 67-year-old singer asked at the start of the interview. "Of course. People, she's eating popcorn," Ottenberg replied. "My favorite food, you can say that," Madonna revealed. "I haven't had it for a week."

Ottenberg then pointed to a memorable Vogue photo shoot from May 1989. In a photograph by Patrick Demarchelier, Madonna is seen snacking on popcorn at her Los Angeles residence. Later in the interview, Ottenberg expressed his curiosity to know exactly how she likes her popcorn. "What do you put on your popcorn?" he asked. "Brewer's yeast," the "Like a Virgin" singer replied, explaining that the supplement is "high in B vitamins."

When Ottenberg commented that Madonna remains "still very fit," he followed up by asking about her diet.

"Popcorn," she replied with a laugh. While the comment drew a laugh, the "Material Girl" singer got refreshingly honest about her fitness routine. "I have a bad knee now," she explained in the interview.  "I have no cartilage in it, thanks to dancing for so long in high heels and running on pavement and doing Ashtanga yoga. Up until a year ago, I was jumping on trampolines and doing dance cardio and doing a lot of what a doctor would call loading on my joints. Can't do that anymore."

Instead, the music icon said she now relies on lower-impact workouts to stay active. "So now I do Peloton bikes and the Versa Climber and high-intensity circuit training," she said. "I ride my bike outside a lot. I dance."

In November 2019, the singer had shared an Instagram update about taking her "usual Ice Bath for multiple injuries" and thanked her "gang-gang for being my hype squad!"

Beloved '90s Sitcom Aired Its Emotional Series Finale 27 Years Ago Today

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 12:12pm

While the '90s were dominated by popular sitcoms, none had the style and charisma of Fran Fine (Fran Drescher) in The Nanny. Twenty-seven years ago, the sitcom released its two-part series finale that gave fans the happy ending they wanted.

The Nanny was TV gold and often cited as the '90s version of I Love Lucy. Alongside being an Emmy award-winning series, Drescher became a household name, earning multiple nominations for her role as a Jewish fashionista from Queens who finds herself the nanny of a rich upper-class family in New York City.

CBS aired the sitcom in early November 1993 and ran for a total of six seasons with the original cast. The Nanny would meet its end on June 23, 1999, but with a few discrepancies. According to timelines, the two-part finale was released earlier in May, but CBS continued to broadcast unreleased episodes until late June. The released episode, "The Baby Shower," marked the end of the sitcom.

"The Finale: Part 1" is drama galore as Fran and Maxwell (Charles Shaughnessy) are celebrating their first anniversary together while she's heavily pregnant with twins. The Frans get together one last time with the Maxwells before moving to California, as Nigel (Daniel Davis) tries to propose to C.C. (Lauren Lane).

In the midst of the celebrations, C.C. and Fran get stuck in the elevator, and it induces Fran to go into labor. C.C. questions if she'll be a good wife, while the others soon realize the two women are trapped. Upon rescuing Fran and jetting off to the hospital, C.C. accepts Nigel's proposal.

"The Finale: Part 2" gives the sitcom its needed end as Fran delivers two healthy twins. C.C. and Nigel end up getting married at the hospital as a doctor informs them that she's pregnant. Some time later, the family is ready to travel to California. Fran discovers her "Shades of Orient" makeup case and is reminded of when she first arrived at the Sheffield home.

The Nanny has been tagged as one of the greatest TV sitcoms and became a hit outside the U.S. in various countries. It's even inspired loose adaptations, with Drescher becoming a TV icon.

What Is a Labubu?

Labubus originated as whimsy-like storybook characters dreamed up by Hong Kong–born illustrator Kasing Lung. After falling in love with Nordic fairytales as a child, as an adult he launched a picture book series called The Monsters, which featured female elves known as Labubus. Shortly after the trilogy was published, Lung released a toy series that was inspired by his characters. Though it wasn't until he teamed up with Pop Mart that they became super popular.

However, if you've never seen a Labubu in person, you might be a little surprised by their appearance, as they are not the typical sweet and smiley plush you might be imagining. Instead, think big eyes, a wide toothy grin, wild hair and a look that’s a combination of a mischievous monster, a bunny and a cuddly forest creature.

Today, you'll find Labubus in various colors and in a range sizes, as well as on keychains, which have been worn on the bags of singers like Lisa from Blackpink, Rihanna, Dua Lipa and collectors likeJenn Guhit.

"I think Labubus have become so popular because they can be taken anywhere," Guhit tells Parade. "I love that you can just hang one on your bag and it instantly becomes a cute accessory.

Besides keychains, you can also buy Labubus in something called "blind boxes," which has also added to their appeal and is something collectors like Guhit love.

"I currently have several different sets," she says. "I have the whole set of Exciting Macaron, as well as Have a Seat and Big into Energy. Plus, I also have the Fall in Wild, Wings of Fortune, Time to Chill, Let’s Checkmate Series and the Coca Cola Series. Besides those, I also have a few from Popland, which is the Pop Mart theme park from Beijing."

What Are Labubu Blind Boxes?

If you're not familiar with Labubu blind boxes, they are basically like little magical, mystery presents where you don't know which adorable Labubu will be hiding inside until you open it. That element of surprise makes collecting super exciting, but also a bit tricky if you're hunting for a special color or one of the rare, secret edition dolls. However, even if you don’t wind up with the exact one you hoped for, chances are you’ll still fall head over heels for the toy that pops out!

The fun of the mystery surrounding the blind boxes has become a trend all on its own as well. In fact, posting a video of yourself unboxing a Labubu online—where viewers can watch in anticipation and see the surprise unfold—has become a feel-good viral experience, creating a joyful way for fans all over the world to connect and celebrate the cuteness of one unboxing at a time.

Can You Still Buy Labubu Dolls?

When it comes to purchasing a Labubu, make sure you have Pop Mart's app downloaded on your phone or their page bookmarked on your desktop, because you can only buy the new launches and restocks on there.

However, due to how much people love them, they sell out fast. That's why you want to make sure you keep an eye out for news of restocking.

The newest restock is happening on June 25 at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST and it's THE MONSTERS Hair Salon Series. As you might imagine from the title of the launch, these Labubus have luxurious locks; each figure in their Vinyl Plush Pendant Blind Boxes has a chic outfit and a tiny little head of hair, from a blonde wig that curls up like a 1960s 'do to another Labubu with a pastel pink curly wig. These are $39.99 per box.

This collection also features something brand new: perfume! Yep: THE MONSTERS Hair Salon Series-Fragrance Spray Blind Boxes feature six potential figures with real spray bottles of perfume (with a 7th "secret edition" perfume). These are $29.99 each, and you have the chance of getting:

  • Flip Ends — Fragrance: Woody Floral, top notes: rose, myrtle, cypress
  • Master Hairstylist — Fragrance: Floral Chypre, top notes: citrus, pink pepper, lemon
  • High Ponytail — Fragrance: Oriental, top notes: iris

Also in the Hair Salon Series are:

If you missed any of the recent restocks, don't worry. In preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, taking place between Canada, the United States and Mexico in June, Pop Mart released Labubus themed for the global event back in April, and they seem like they're all still available. One of the bigger Labubus is THE MONSTERS × FIFA SERIES-Catch the Win Vinyl Plush Doll, costing $149.99. It's one of their classic, larger vinyl plush figures that's decked out in soccer gear—complete with cleats—holding a tiny replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy.

But that's not all. There are several pendant, lanyard and magnet blind boxes of FIFA-themed Labubus in this collection too. This includes:

A one-off, non-FIFA Labubu they dropped on the same date as well is the LABUBU Jazz Figure, for $39.99, and still available at the time of this reporting. It features a vinyl LABUBU lounging on a rocking recliner, listening to some nice music, with a thought bubble that has a simple heart in it (because they're enjoying jazz, duh).

Also, THE MONSTERS x HELLO KITTY collaboration dropped in early March and is also still available to buy. It includes THE MONSTERS × Hello Kitty and Friends Series-Vinyl Plush Pendant Blind Boxes ($39.99 each) and the THE MONSTERS × HELLO KITTY - Vinyl Plush Doll ($149.99). These haven't sold out just yet.

Back in January, Pop Mart released THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary Series, and you can still purchase some of those items as well, like the THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary Series — ZIMOMO Vinyl Plush Doll ($299.99).

As you can tell, not everything is sold out on Pop Mart's website for older collections, so you can always search for others.

There are also some Labubu options sold by Pop Mart on Amazon as well, like the POP MART The Monsters COCA-COLA Series-Vinyl Face Blind Box.

What Time Does Pop Mart Restock Labubus Online?

Typically, Pop Mart restocks Labubus on Thursdays between 6-7 p.m. PST /9-10 p.m. EST.

However, Guhit tells Parade that's not always the case; there can be surprise drops, and the time can vary.

"Sometimes you just have to keep checking because you never know when they’ll do a drop," she advises.

In fact, sometimes, instead of having a weekly drop, they will occur more frequently, like every other day. To check and see if they are about to have a drop, it's recommended to look on Pop Mart's website or app under "THE MONSTERS" series for something that says "LAUNCH TIME."

To ensure you get one when there's a new launch, Guhit says you have to act fast.

"If there's a Labubu restock happening on Pop Mart's app at 7 p.m., if someone tries to buy one a few hours later, they will most likely be sold out," she notes.

Edward Berthelot/Getty Images

Where Can I Find Labubu Restock Alerts?

If you or someone you know goes to buy a Labubu and they are sold out, Guhit suggests getting alerted when there's a restock.

"If you sign up for alerts, you'll get pinged when the Labubu you want becomes available," she shares.

To do this, visit Pop Mart's website, go to the product page where the sold-out item is, and look for a button or link that mentions something like "Notify me" or "Notify me when available."

Then, follow the instructions, like entering your email address, so you can get on their list.

How Much Does a Labubu Doll Cost?

If you want a Labubu, they are affordable, but be prepared to spend more money than you would on another type of plush. A single box of the "Have a Seat Vinyl Plush Blind Box," as well as the "Exciting Macaron Vinyl Face Blind Box" and the "Big into Energy Series-Vinyl Plush Pendant Blind Box," are all $27.99. But as you saw above, newer, special edition blind boxes can go up to $39.99.

If you decide you want to purchase a whole set instead of just one, that price is drastically different and starts at about $167.94. The entire set will include six different blind boxes (or more, depending on the collection).

While not a plush, "THE MONSTERS Let's Checkmate Series-Pendant Blind Box" goes for $18.99 and is a chain with the pendant that you can hang from your purse.

Keep in mind that the price does not include the taxes or the shipping and handling fees, so the total will be slightly higher.

What To Know About Knockoffs: How Can You Tell if a Labubu Is Real or Fake?

Similar to other items that are collectables, Labubus have attracted the attention of resellers, which unfortunately means there are also knockoffs out there. These knockoffs have been dubbed as "Lafufus."

To help ensure you are buying the real deal, make sure you only buy them directly from places like Pop Mart or their official store on Amazon.

Another way you can tell it's a knockoff? The price. If you see a Labubu for an extremely low price, it's probably a fake.

Guhit echoes this point, telling Parade, "If you see a Labubu being sold to you at a too good to be price—it probably is too good to be true!"

She reveals you can also check the fine details of the doll to see if it's authentic.

"Real Labubus have 9 teeth," she says. "They will also have a Pop Mart logo stamped on one foot, and if you scan the QR code on the box they come in, it will lead you to the Pop Mart verification if it's a real Labubu."

2000s Rock Singer Announces First Solo Album in 11 Years

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 12:07pm

The Killers front man Brandon Flowers has announced his first solo album in over a decade.

Following on from his 2015 release The Desired Effect, the new record, Thrasher, arrives on Aug. 21 via Island Records.

"As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found my way back to my father’s music—‘Country-Western' (as he called it)—and discovered that the stories I carry really feel most at home in the skin of this beautiful American tradition,” Flowers said in a statement announcing the new record.

View this post on Instagram

"Two things can be true at the same time. The fact that I love new-wave and rock n’ roll is well documented, but life is long enough to allow for more,” he continued in a social media video that gave fans a first look at the forthcoming release.

Thrasher was recorded in Nashville and produced by longtime collaborators Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado. features a string of guest collaborators, including David Rawlings, Bruce Bouton, and Charlie McCoy. Flowers said that recording with such "seasoned and extremely talented musicians" for the ten-song album has been "one of the highlights of my career."

"I hope you hear the joy in the record, because we sure had a blast making it," he concluded. "This is not me running away from rock n’ roll. I don’t want to replace my old songs. I simply found room for more."

The lead single, "Plans," drops on June 26. Per NME, the track touches on themes of ill-fated dreams. In 2025, the "Human" singer discussed the timeline for another album from The Killers.

"The next thing we’re going to get is a Brandon Flowers record, unfortunately," he said.

Formed in 2001 in Las Vegas, The Killers shot to fame following the release of 2004's "Mr. Brightside," a hit that has become a timeless classic around the world. While it never topped the charts in the U.S. or across the pond, the track is known as the U.K.'s biggest selling song of all time yet to reach No. 1.

Legoland Florida Throws Shade at Universal Amid Backlash Over Newest Theme Park

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:43am

Legoland Florida is throwing shade at Universal ahead of its newest theme park opening.

The theme park's witty Instagram post, which doubled as promotion for its own 150-acre park, adds to the growing backlash Universal Kids Resort is facing just days before its scheduled opening.

“What does the ULTIMATE kids' theme park actually look like? 🎢✨ Welcome to LEGOLAND Florida, where the entire family gets to enjoy themed thrills, indoor attractions, and shaded areas all throughout!” the post read.

While it appears innocent at first, the video, which showcases the best Legoland Florida has to offer across rides, experiences and food, features the message: “btw… this is what a theme park built for kids looks like.”

View this post on Instagram

Fans caught on immediately, taking to the comments, writing, “Not the shade before they even open 🤣.”

“Throwing shade cuz Universal doesn't have any,” another wrote, as others chimed in, “Legoland is out for blood, oh my goodness lol” and “Sick burn LEGOLAND 😂.”

While Universal Kids Resort isn’t direct competition, as it is opening in Frisco, Texas, rather than Florida or California, it’s been hit with plenty of criticism following a press day for influencers and media.

Slated to open July 1, the Universal Kids Resort is Universal’s first-ever park for 3-8-year-old children, prioritizing kid-friendly attractions across franchises like Gaby’s Dollhouse, Trolls, Jurassic Park, Shrek and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Despite the $550 million price tag, the children's theme park was slammed for its "depressing" appearance, surrounded by concrete in every direction, and no shade in sight amid the brutal Texas heat.

“For just $55 your 3-8 year olds can use their imagination to pretend there is landscaping I guess.🥴” one account shared, with a side-by-side of the colorful concept art, featuring plenty of greenery, juxtaposed with the actual ride footage.

View this post on Instagram

“Concrete, concrete and more concrete. It’s about as whimsical as a freeway overpass,” one comment read, while another said “I just feel like it’s unfinished.”

Many others noted that it feels “cheaply done,” particularly for a Universal property, as others online called out influencers who were invited to media days for sugarcoating the reality of the park.

“Part of the issue is that all of the invited vloggers and influencers were so overwhelmingly positive that everything felt so disingenuous. Like, we all have eyeballs. It feels like gaslighting,” one expressed.

While others suggested fans wait for the actual opening to see how things shake out, others were simply disillusioned, with one adding, "I don't believe anyone should have to "wait a few years" to see how they take the feedback. It should be more or less polished at opening with only a few minor things to work on."

"My issue is that it's all....carnival rides. There's really nothing there that screams universal imagination. People said it's six flags for kids and I have to agree,” another echoed on Reddit

"I'm assuming it's intended to be a relatively affordable park for local families with young children and semi-locals who want to make a weekend trip out of it," someone else suggested, a sentiment echoed by AllEarsNet, who took to Instagram to clear the air, aiming for a more realistic review of her experience, writing, “We’ve GOTTA TALK about Universal Kids Resort.

She revealed that while her kids had fun at the park, it isn’t a destination you should travel to seek out unless you are already in the area, adding, “This park is for locals,” and that if you travel there only for the park, you will be “disappointed.”

“This basically is not a theme park, but it’s a big playground for kids,” she expressed, noting that you only need a single day to enjoy the entirety of the park, which could be less "overwhelming" for children.

She concluded, pointing out, "kids don't care about theming, you do."

Single-day passes start at $54.99 per person, with annual passes ranging between $129.99 and $164.99. Children 2 and under get in for free.

'The Quiet American' & 'Contempt' Actress Dead at 88

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:41am

Giorgia Moll, an Italian actress best known for her roles in The Quiet American and Contempt, died on June 2 in Rome at age 88, her family announced.

Specifically, in The Quiet American (1958), she played Phuong, who is in the middle of a love triangle between journalist Thomas Fowler and an American named Alden Pyle. The movie is based on the 1955 novel by English author Graham Greene and was the first feature made in Vietnam.

As for Contempt (1963), she portrayed Francesca, a secretary to American producer Jeremiah Prokosch, played by Jack Palance. The movie also starred Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli and Fritz Lang.

Moll also appeared in The White Warrior (1959) alongside Steve Reeves and The Thief of Baghdad (1961). She also had a role in The Cossacks (1960) as well as starring with Robert Preston, Tony Randall and Walter Matthau in Island of Love (1963). Other appearances include Lipstick (1960), Cover Girls (1963) and Dark Purpose (1964).

She also starred in the Pasta del Capitano toothpaste sketches with Carlo Dapporto, with the iconic line, "With that mouth, she can say whatever she wants." It aired nightly on the advertising program Carosello, following the 8 p.m. news, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Moll's film debut came in 1955 when she was 17 in Non scherzare con le donne. Her final onscreen acting appearance was in a 1985 Italian telefilm. In the 1960s, Moll also recorded a few singles.

Bath & Body Works’ Viral Wallflowers Hack Will Change the Way You Shop

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:37am

Bath & Body Works customers are all about the thrill of the chase, from waiting for big sales and promotions to stock up on their favorite products to scouring internet forums to guess what the next new limited-edition fragrance collection will be.

Related: Bath & Body Works Fans Gush Over ‘Unreal’ Limited-Edition Fragrance They’re ‘Obsessed With’

A lot of times, the Bath & Body Works fandom extends to specific scents, but what happens if you can’t remember which product you purchased? That’s usually not an issue with body care items or candles, since they are wrapped in labels with the fragrance prominently displayed. However, that’s not the case for Bath & Body Works’ popular Wallflowers, as the only labels for the plug-in air freshener refills are on the paper packaging, which most people toss as soon as they use the refill.

At least, that’s what most customers think. But a viral TikTok reveals that, in actuality, Bath & Body Works has been labeling the refills in a very subtle way. TikTok user Chrissyross15 recently posted a video explaining that a visit to a nearby Bath & Body Works store to try to figure out which refill fragrance she had been using was illuminating in more ways than one. “I walk in, and I bring my [empty refill], and I was like, ‘hey, can you smell this and tell me what it is?’” with the hopes that a Bath & Body Works salesperson would be able to correctly identify the fragrance.

Instead of sniffing the refill, the Bath & Body Works employee showed her how to use her phone flashlight on the bottom of the glass refill to illuminate the top of the bulb, where the fragrance name was etched. “I feel like this is a game-changer,” she said, prompting hundreds of comments.

“This is really cool. I have a bunch of wallflowers and I literally keep the tabs on the cap so I don’t forget what scent they are. I had no idea you could do that,” said one person, as others chimed in to agree. “I’ve used these for years and never knew that. Thank you,” wrote another.

The two scents shown in the video have the name of the fragrance etched into the glass, but it should be noted that not all of them do. Parade editors checked several Wallflower refills they had at home, which, instead of showing the fragrance name, had a code etched into the glass. Social media videos from fans as far back as 2022 show that Bath & Body Works has been putting the names of fragrances on the refills for years, and a Bath & Body Works spokesperson told Parade that some names are not listed due to logistics. “We are limited to 10 characters, so if the fragrance name happens to be shorter, and we can fit the entire name within the 10 character limit then we can use the full name. If not, then we use the abbreviated versions or ‘codes’ to key what the fragrance name is.”

United Airlines Just Added a Major Perk — Will You Be Able to Take Advantage of it?

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:35am

It’s a first for United Airlines. Free ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi was available for MileagePlus members only beginning on Monday, June 22, 2026, on the night’s flight from Newark to London Heathrow. This is the first time this service has been available on one of the airline’s widebody long-haul aircraft. From gate to gate, passengers had access to Starlink’s broadband-quality Wi-Fi. This is a major perk for business passengers as well as regular passengers who just want to stay connected.

In a press release, United’s Chief Customer Officer David Kinzelman says, “Starlink offers the same fast, reliable internet access and connectivity we're all used to at home, delivered in the air at 35,000 feet, flying anywhere around the world. This technology has the potential to transform how we think about the in-flight experience for both our customers and our employees."

Related: United Airlines Debuts New In-Flight Menu Collaboration With World-Renowned Chefs

The Starlink rollout is helping the airline to provide a more connected and personalized onboard experience for passengers. This includes gaming, shopping, and multi-device connectivity. It’s also playing a role in real-time work collaboration, allowing passengers to share and update files without interruption.

If your flight has the Starlink service, you should get an email letting you know. You can always go on the United app to check your upcoming trips and in-flight amenities to see if you can expect to have them when you get on board.

Why Is Starlink So Special?

People get excited about Starlink because it can deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband to virtually anywhere on Earth using a massive constellation of satellites.

Starlink is pretty much available anywhere, so that’s where the draw is, especially for airplanes. The possibilities are truly endless. Unlike regular WiFi networks that are local and wireless, Starlink is considered better for many users because it is highly portable and requires no local cables.

It seems that people who already have Starlink access love it. Here’s just a sample of what they are saying on social media:

“Nice! I’ve had it a bunch on E175S and had it on my first B738 last week too… really great to see it expanding pretty fast now! “ - Giskarrrd (Reddit)

“Starlink was a nice upgrade, and they offered free on my trip.” -azskyrider (Reddit)

Starlink for the Future

This is just the beginning of Starlink’s presence on United planes. The airline plans to install Starlink on as many as 1,000 planes by the end of the year. The initial rollout started last Spring. Since then, more than 400 aircraft have been in service. United has plans to equip more than one aircraft daily with the satellite internet service throughout 2026.

United is not the only airline where Starlink has appeared. Other airlines have also jumped on the Starlink train. Hawaiian Airlines, Air France, Qatar Airways, and airBaltic have all used Starlink on their flights.

1965 Rock Classic, Featuring Lyrics Inspired by Reimagined Bible Passage, Ranked Among the ‘Most American Songs of All Time’

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:35am

In 1965, Bob Dylan left his acoustic folk roots in the dust with the release of the blues-based “Highway 61 Revisited.”

Written by Dylan, the title track from the 1965 Billboard Top 3 album of the same name used the real-life U.S. highway as a cynical symbol for America and its oddball characters.

Amid a driving, bluesy guitar riff, listeners were introduced to Georgia Sam, Mack the Finger, Louie the King, and a bored gambler “trying to create the next world war.” Most notably, the song kicked off with a sarcastic, reimagined reference to the Bible passage Genesis 22: 1-3, with God telling Abraham to get out to Highway 61 to sacrifice his son.

In June 2026, Esquire magazine ranked “Highway 61 Revisited” as one of the “most American songs of all time” as the nation approaches its 250th birthday.

Clarifying that the collection of songs on the list isn’t a best-of list but instead tracks that “are distinctly American, addressing protest and leisure, joy and pain, wisdom and silliness, nostalgia and experimentation,” the outlet noted that “Highway 61 Revisited” pays homage to “the hustlers, hucksters, and schemers who drive so much of our economy and politics.”

Dylan hasn’t explained the song’s meaning or the opening verse that reimagines the Book of Genesis’ story of Abraham and Isaac on Highway 61 instead of a mountain. But it’s no surprise that he used the famous highway as a setting to string together a fractured story of the American dream.

Dylan, who was born in Minnesota, along a stretch of the 1400-mile route of U.S. Highway 61 that runs down to New Orleans, often talks about his roots.

“I was born in Duluth, Minnesota – give that a little plug,” he said in a 1961 interview. “That's where I was born and, uh, out in the Midwest most of my life. Well, about three-quarters of my life around the Midwest and one quarter around the Southwest …I bounced around a lot as a kid.”

The legendary musician has also admitted that Highway 61 remains very special to him.

In his 2004 memoir Chronicles, Vol. 1, he wrote. "Highway 61, the main thoroughfare of the country blues, begins about where I began…The Mississippi River the bloodstream of the blues…I was never too far away from any of it. It was my  place in the universe, always felt like it was in my blood.”

After he recorded the song in homage to the iconic highway that runs through eight states, Dylan admitted it may have been his best work. “I'm not going to make a record as good as that one,” he once said, according to Grammy.com.

Keith Richards Reveals Why the Rolling Stones May Be Done With Touring

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:30am

More than 60 years after helping define rock 'n' roll, the Rolling Stones are still releasing new music. However, Keith Richardsrecently acknowledged that the legendary band's touring days may be behind them.

With the release of their new album, Foreign Tongues, set for July 19, the Rolling Stones have no plans to stop making music. They also recently released their newest single, "In the Stars," which has dominated the Billboard charts. While the band has previously stated they won't be touring in 2026, Richards says that the band may never tour again.

In an interview with Uncut alongside his bandmates Mick Jaggerand Ronnie Wood, he says traveling is a major dealbreaker. The 82-year-old and the band have been touring around the world since the start of their careers, but Richard admits live performances aren't out of the picture.

“I don't know if tours are possible,” Richards said. “It's the traveling that takes it out of you. But I do see the possibility of us doing residency somewhere.”

“Wherever it is, London, New York, Paris, anywhere. I'll play Rome! But I don't see why they shouldn't be able to throw some shows together in a new format.”

In recent years, many artists have opted out of extensive world tours for more consistent residencies in one major city. Rod Stewarthad a long-running residency in Las Vegas, and Aerosmith's Deuces Are Wild residency was a major hit. Other legendary bands like The Eagles performed multi-night residencies rather than traditional tours. KISS also announced post-farewell residency plans.

Woods chimed in that none of them are "getting any younger" and "none of us are getting out of here alive." While pondering if performing live is still exciting at this stage of their careers, he admits that it'll be exciting until one day he says, "That's it."

“I mean, what am I gonna do? Jesus Christ. It's necessary for me – at gunpoint, if needs be – to keep a band together. ‘You will play drums!' I do my bit, but it's an incredible gift from everybody else. I didn't expect this in return," Richards said.

Earlier this year, Richards revealed they had no plans to tour to promote their new album. Richards teased that next year might be different, and they are still figuring out what's next for the band following their latest release. His bandmate, on the other hand, thinks differently, with Jagger saying he “would love to tour the album." He, too, admitted it won't be in 2026.

Amy Adams Gets Candid About the Traumatic Moment She Helped Save a Stabbing Victim

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:15am

Amy Adams is truly a hero.

During an appearance on the “Smartless” podcast on June 22, 2026, while promoting her new role in AppleTV’s “Cape Fear,” Adams recalled the time when she and her father saved the life of a man who had been stabbed in the neck.

The actress was out with her father, her husband, and her daughter when the incident occurred.

"We were in Santa Monica, coming out of our favorite restaurant … These people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, ‘He’s dying!’ And my husband’s like, ‘That’s blood!’” she recalled. "I was like, ‘Darren, you stay here with our daughter.’ [My dad and I] ran over and he’d been stabbed in the neck. So he was bleeding and his friends were freaking out.”

Adams said she and her father applied pressure on his neck wound with beach towels.

“I’m sitting there somehow going, ‘You need to calm your pulse rate. Take a deep breath in,’” she said. “I literally was just so focused. I was like, ‘The more you struggle, the faster you’re going to bleed. Just lay down. Let’s elevate this.’”

The man ultimately survived and Adams revealed she ran into him a year later.

A guy walks up to me in the restaurant. He’s like, ‘I heard a story that you and your dad were on the scene of a guy getting stabbed.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, that’s so funny you heard that story,'" she explained. "I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s you!’ And it was him. And he was, like, all teary, and he had his son with him. Yeah. It was so crazy.”

Adams credited her ability to stay calm and help the wounded man from her role on the 2004 medical TV series Dr. Vegas.

One New York City Tourist Staple May Be Riding Into the Sunset

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:13am

For nearly 200 years, horse-drawn carriages have been a staple of New York City life. They have been a major tourist attraction through Central Park and the rest of the city. But those rides may be over in light of recent tragedies that have some questioning their safety. The latest tragedy, which happened just this month, has brought the issues back to the surface. Despite the concerns, horse-drawn carriage rides have since resumed.

Concerns Over Horse-Drawn Carriages

Although there are laws in place dictating how much the horses can work, many say they don’t go far enough. Advocates are pushing for Ryder’s Law, a complete ban on horse-drawn carriages and their replacement with electric carriages. The bill is named after Ryder, a carriage horse that collapsed and later died in 2022. Many were outraged, calling for change.

Earlier this month, a tourist, 18-year-old Romanch Mahajan, died after he fell from a runaway horse-drawn carriage in Central Park. The horse took off while the driver was improperly dismounted, taking a picture. Mahajan’s mother fell, and he jumped off to save her. He hit his head on the pavement and later died.

Supporters of Ryder’s law now say it will be renamed Romanch’s Law, in honor of the teen. He is believed to be the first person to die in a horse-drawn carriage accident since they were introduced in Central Park decades ago. His death was the eighth horse-related incident in the park in the past 13 months.

Animal rights activists say the carriage horses are overworked and can easily get spooked on city streets. They’ve also alleged that the horses are kept in inadequate stables. Horse and carriage owners have denied those claims, saying the animals are well cared for.

A hearing on the bill is scheduled for July.  New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has said that he would support phasing out the horse-drawn carriages.

What Other Cities Have Horse-Drawn Carriages?

While New York City has become known for its horse-drawn carriage rides, it’s not the only place you’ll find them.  Horse-drawn carriage rides are also available in the French Quarter of New Orleans, as well as in Savannah, Georgia.

Related: Runaway Horse Disrupts Inspection Near Buckingham Palace Before Serving as King Charles' Escort

They were found in other parts of the United States but have since been banned. Philadelphia, Colorado, and Chicago already have horse-drawn carriage bans in place, as well as Salt Lake City and San Antonio. The bans stem from safety concerns for both horses and riders.

6 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About ‘The View’ Ahead of Season 30

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 11:07am

The View is getting close to another big milestone.

The ABC daytime show premiered on Aug. 11, 1997, and is now heading toward Season 30. Over the years, the Hot Topics table has seen major exits, big political interviews, cast shake-ups, and plenty of live TV moments.

But some of the show's most interesting details happened behind the scenes.

Here are six surprising things you probably did not know about The View.

1. The Original Set Came From a Canceled Soap Opera

Before The View became one of daytime TV's most recognizable shows, it started with a recycled set.

According to the show's history on The List, the original set used during the first four seasons came from the canceled soap opera The City.

The show was filmed at ABC Television Studio 23 in New York City for its first 17 seasons before moving to the adjacent ABC Broadcast Center in 2014. It later moved again in 2024 to ABC Studio B at Disney's 7 Hudson Square headquarters in Manhattan.

2. Joy Behar Was Originally a Fill-In "The View" airs on ABC.

Photo by Lou Rocco on Getty Images

Joy Behar is now the longest-running co-host in The View history, but she did not start out as a full-time member of the panel.

When the show premiered, the original group includedBarbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos.

According to GMA, Behar filled in when Walters was unavailable and soon became a full-time co-host.

3. Elisabeth Hasselbeck Had to Try Out on the Air

Elisabeth Hasselbeck was not quietly added to the panel.

After Lisa Ling left the show, Hasselbeck was one of three women who received week-long on-air tryouts in 2003. The others were Rachel Campos-Duffy and Erin Hershey Presley.

Hasselbeck eventually got the job and officially joined the show later that year, says Variety.

Her run became one of the most talked-about in the show's history, especially during the mid-2000s, a period of political upheaval.

4. The Show Was Moved Under ABC News in 2014

For years, The View was part of ABC's daytime entertainment side.

That changed in 2014.

According to reports from Variety at the time, ABC shifted oversight of The View from a non-fiction programming group within ABC News after ratings declined and the show underwent major changes.

That move helped explain why the show leaned more heavily into news, politics and Hot Topics in the years that followed.

It also helped set up the version of The View viewers know now, where political interviews and breaking-news conversations often drive the biggest moments.

5. The Show Once Filmed a Whole Week at Disney's Animal Kingdom ORLANDO, FL - APRIL 03: General views of the 'Tree of Life' at Animal Kingdom, at the Walt Disney World Resort on April 03, 2022 in Orlando, Florida. (Photo by AaronP/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images)

Getty Images

Most viewers think of The View as a New York show, but it has also hit the road.

In March 2017, the show had its first remote broadcast from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and five episodes were filmed in front of the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The week included segments from several Disney parks, including Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios shares WDWMagic.

6. Joy Behar's Phone Interrupted the 6,000th Episode

The show's 6,000th episode in July 2024 featured a very fitting live TV moment.

Joy Behar's phone interrupted the opening of the milestone episode when it started playing Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe."

Sara Haines helped her silence it, and the show moved on, according to Entertainment Weekly.

After nearly three decades on the air, the show can still get interrupted by something nobody planned.
