Achieving good heart health involves a mix of diet, exercise and smart lifestyle choices, making it a concerted effort. But given that heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women globally, it’s worth putting the effort into ensuring your heart is in good shape.

If you already exercise regularly, minimize alcohol intake and don’t smoke, it makes sense to assume you’re in pretty good shape. But it’s also important to take a closer look at what lands on your plate. There are a lot of foods that are good for heart health and some that clearly aren’t. Cardiologists generally recommend limiting foods high in sugar, salt and sodium, and focusing on eating plenty of plants and minimally-processed foods instead.

And, of course, you shouldn’t neglect your protein intake. While no one food will magically lower your risk for heart disease, cardiologists agree that there’s one in particular that should have a regular spot on your plate—and it’s probably not there already.

Less than 25% of Americans eat foods in this heart-healthy category, suggesting there’s work to do. Here’s why cardiologists say this food deserves a solid spot in your diet.

It’s fatty fish. “In the early ‘70s, two Danish investigators noticed a surprisingly low rate of coronary heart disease in the Inuit population of Greenland,” says Dr. Christopher Clyne, MD, cardiologist at Tufts Medical Center. “They traced this unusually low incidence of heart disease to a diet high in fatty fish, seals and whales.”

When scientists dove deeper, they discovered that the omega-3 fatty acids found in these fish and sea animals seemed to be linked with the very low rates of heart disease, Clyne says. Fatty fish contain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, both of which are linked to good heart health, says Dr. Sergiu Darabant, MD, cardiologist at Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida. Specifically, they may help to lower triglycerides (fat in the blood), reduce blood pressure and support healthy blood vessel function, he says. 

Fatty fish “also have anti-inflammatory properties, which lowers the risk of coronary artery disease,” says Dr. Catherine Weinberg, MD, director of congenital heart disease at Northwell’s Lenox Hill Hospital.

Fatty fish are a type of oily fish that have healthy oils and fats spread throughout their bodies. Fatty fish generally include:

• Salmon
• Herring
• Mackerel
• Sardines
• Lake trout
• Albacore tuna

If you’re not eating fatty fish now, doctors say that any amount is better than none. But you’d ideally have about two servings of fish—or 3 to 4 ounces per serving—each week, Dr. Darabant says. “Preferably baked, grilled or broiled, rather than fried,” he adds. 

Fish does the most for heart health when it replaces red or processed meats, he explains. (That’s why he suggests Mediterranean- and DASH-style diets, both of which incorporate fatty fish.)

Fish isn’t for everyone, which is likely why only about a quarter of Americans regularly eat it. But while the best way to get the benefits of fatty fish is eating fatty fish, Dr. Weinberg says the following can also add heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids to your diet:

• Flax seed
• Chia seeds
• Walnuts
• Algal-oil

Again, the best way to achieve good heart health is to approach it from multiple angles. But your diet should include more than fatty fish, Dr. Weinberg says. “Load up on colorful fruits and vegetables, use olive oil as your go-to fat and incorporate flax seeds and nuts into your routine,” she says. “On the flip side, try to steer clear of ultra-processed foods.”

Overall, cardiologists say it’s a good idea to incorporate fish into your diet—and to just try to do your best. “It’s all about building a well-rounded, heart-healthy eating pattern,” Dr. Weinberg says.

Al Pacino and his on-again/off-again girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, just had a rare date night.

The legendary actor, 86, known for diverse roles ranging from The Godfather and Dog Day Afternoon to Carlito’s Way and Scent of a Woman, is currently raising a child with Alfallah, 32. The couple welcomed a young son named Roman in 2023, and just referenced the little one as they stepped out for a date night to attend the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening night in Los Angeles, California. In the caption, Alfallah wrote, “Roman’s Mom & Dad ❤️,” a sweet mention of their tyke. Noor’s sister, Sophia, commented, “Parents night out💃💃.”

Back in May, Pacino celebrated his 86th birthday with a fun party, and Alfallah was on deck for all the celebrations. In a video posted to Instagram that has since been deleted, the actor danced it out with a microphone in his hand and blew out his birthday candles on a large sheet cake covered with one of his childhood photos. Alfallah watched from the side with a smile on her face.

In total, Pacino has four children, and recently hit the red carpet with the three older ones, Anton Pacino, Olivia Pacino, and Julie Pacino, for the opening of I Live Here Now at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. Anton and Olivia Pacino’s mother is none other than beloved actress Beverly D’Angelo, who welcomed twins at 49 with Pacino, her then-partner. The star originated the role of Ellen Griswold alongside Chevy Chase‘s Clark W. Buying a home security system often involves two separate costs: the equipment itself and the service that keeps it monitored. Equipment can range from a basic hub and a few sensors to a larger system with cameras, smart locks, smoke detectors and other devices. Paying for everything upfront keeps the purchase simple, but financing can make a more comprehensive setup easier to fit into a monthly budget.

So, should you finance a home security system or buy the equipment outright? The better choice depends on the financing terms and how much cash you want to spend initially.

If you’re deciding between paying upfront and financing, an ADT quote can show the equipment and monitoring costs separately so you can compare the monthly and upfront prices.

The upfront cost largely depends on how much equipment the home needs and whether you choose self-installation or professional installation.

For example, ADT’s current Base package is listed at $269 and includes the ADT Base, a door/window sensor and access to the ADT+ app. Additional cameras, sensors and other devices increase the equipment total.

Financing divides the cost of qualifying equipment and installation into scheduled payments rather than requiring the entire amount at once.

ADT currently advertises financing as low as 0% APR for eligible customers with approved credit. Its product page, for example, shows the $269 Base package at approximately $7.47 per month for 36 months at 0% APR for qualifying buyers.

Credit matters. ADT states that its 0% offers are limited to well-qualified customers, and down payments or other financing terms can vary. Some buyers may also face an upfront financing fee of up to $49, depending on their history.

For this reason, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recommends looking beyond the monthly payment when evaluating financing. APR incorporates the interest rate and applicable lending fees, making it more useful for comparing borrowing costs.

Financing can make sense when you want to preserve cash or spread the cost of a larger security system over time. A homeowner adding several cameras, entry sensors, smart locks and life-safety devices could face a substantially larger equipment bill than someone purchasing a basic system.

If you qualify for 0% APR, financing also lets you divide that cost without adding interest. The main consideration is whether the monthly equipment payment comfortably fits alongside monitoring and other household expenses.

ADT can provide a customized equipment quote before purchase, making it easier to see what the system costs upfront and what qualifying financing would look like monthly.

Paying cash may be preferable if you already have money set aside and don’t want another recurring payment. It also makes comparisons simpler because there is no financing term, APR or separate equipment installment to track.

For financing offers that charge interest or fees, paying upfront will reduce the total amount spent as well. For this reason, the CFPB advises consumers to consider the APR, financing term, amount borrowed and monthly payment rather than focusing only on the smaller payment created by a longer loan.

No. These are separate agreements and costs. Equipment financing determines how you pay for the hardware. Monitoring covers the ongoing service connected to the security system.

ADT’s professionally installed systems generally require a 36-month monitoring agreement, or 24 months in California, while ADT Self Setup monitoring is available month-to-month. Keeping those costs separate makes it easier to understand the true monthly budget.

For example, a homeowner financing equipment could have both an equipment installment and a monitoring charge appearing each month until the equipment is paid off.

Paying upfront is usually the simplest option if the equipment cost comfortably fits your budget. Financing becomes more attractive when preserving cash matters or when a 0% APR offer allows you to spread the expense without increasing the equipment’s cost.

Start by comparing the full equipment price, APR, financing period and monthly monitoring cost. A $30 equipment payment may sound affordable by itself, but it should be considered alongside monitoring and any other services you choose.

For homeowners building a larger system, financing can make it easier to install the desired equipment now rather than scaling back solely because of the upfront price.

If you’re weighing the two options, request an ADT quote and compare the cash price with the available monthly financing terms before deciding how you want to pay.

The Blind Auditions kick off tonight on The Voice with BigCountry, who performs his own rendition of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins‘ “I Put A Spell On You” for coaches Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Adam Levine and Riley Green.

It’s the perfect way to launch the singing competition’s 30th season and BigCountry manages to get a three-chair with everyone but Kelly hitting their button for the 37-year-old from Tacoma, WA.

“Now I feel like a complete moron,” says Kelly once she turns. “I love that your name is BigCountry. I’m so excited to see what you’re going to do. The reason I didn’t turn was I was waiting for that next level…but BigCountry, you are one helluva singer. Welcome to the show.”

With Kelly’s comments out of the way, it was time for the three coaches who were vying to land BigCountry on their team to make their pitches.

“I turned around way first, way more first than anybody else,” Adam points out. Before he could say anything more, Riley begins blowing on his duck whistle, making both Kelly and Queen laugh. Then Riley says, “Excuse me. You were saying Adam.”

But Adam keeps it serious. “I’ve won the show four times. I won last season, 29. When I hear BigCountry, I get scared because naturally we  have the duck caller over here” [He points to Riley].

Riley picks up the cue and jokes, “Adam’s nickname is really Little City.

Adam says, “More like average-sized city.”

Riley comes back with, “Medium-sized city. Normal-sized city.”

Adam continues his most convincing best, trying to woe BiCountry, saying, “I know when I turn around and see someone who can win this thing. To be a part of this thing together would be magical, and it would be different and we would have the best time.”

Then it was Queen’s turn to do some persuading.

“You got it! You got it!” she says. “You just did that song from your heart for the people and that’s what I felt. We’ve heard it done many ways but never like that. You made it yours. I want to see you win this, so I’d be happy to be your coach and do whatever is necessary for you to rock that stage for the whole show.”

Then Riley turns it around and instead of pitching himself, asks BigCountry to tell him about himself.

“Even though I’m country bred and country fed, I sing everything,” BigCountry says.

Riley responds, “I love this. I’ll tell you, too,” as he puts on his cowboy hat to make a point. “Listen, country is not about singing the genre of country music, it’s about telling a story of how you grew up, where you’re from, what you believe in. That I know you can do whether you like Hip Hop, rap, country music, soul, whatever it is. What you just did is you sang something that had soul in it but had roots like country music does, and that’s what I was drawn to.”

There was so much cheering offstage from his family and friends that Riley and Kelly had BigCountry bring his supporters onstage: his wife, his mother and two battle buddies from his time in the military.

Then Riley pulled out his team gift: overalls. Queen pulled out her robe to try to entice BigCountry with gifts, but Adam wasn’t having it.

He said, “Don’t pay attention to all these shiny objects. I have a hoodie. I’m not going to take it out. I am not because I want to get to the competition.”

But then he was interrupted as Riley went up to the stage to show BigCountry the fabric on the overalls and kisses his mother, which gave Queen a chance to talk more about her robe gift.

But Adam was not to be deterred. He continues, “If you’re thinking about Riley, I don’t know where your head is right now, but don’t break my heart.”

Then Kelly asked the key question, “Who are you going to pick as your coach…”

“Did I tell you a neighbor’s nest cam caught an Uber delivering an envelope to Carlos’s house the day he died?” Claire asks her mother as we dive right into the action. “Driver said he didn’t look, but it felt like cash. My hunch is that the killer paid Carlos to lure Libby to that blind spot on the cliff, promised they’d get rid of her to keep his hiding place a secret, then killed them both.”

“You still haven’t offered why a deputy marshal would be targeted for a hit,” Jane simply replies.

“Sandoval knows Libby’s looking for him. Maybe she’s getting close.”

“But why would Libby be looking for Sandoval in the first place? We have a special task force on him. She could have asked to be on it. She didn’t.”

“Maybe she wanted brownie points for finding him herself,” Claire reasons.

“Or maybe she wanted to find him for another reason,” Jane responds.

The kitchen collusion is interrupted when Claire gets a call from the medical examiner. But it cannot be stated enough how incongruous this dialogue is with the actual visuals of the scene. Two characters are talking through possible motives for a government agent’s murder, something we’ve seen hundreds of times across the history of procedurals. But the talk is going down around the kitchen island, as an apron-clad Jane is nonchalantly preparing a meal while reasoning through what could have happened. Even just through this 45-second clip, we get a sense of what Line of Fire can provide in mashing up the concept of a work/life balance: A brutal murder as literal dinner conversation.

In 1985, Dolph Lundgren burst onto movie screens as the towering Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV, instantly becoming one of the most recognizable action stars of the decade.

More than 40 years later, Lundgren looks quite different from the imposing 28-year-old who stepped into the ring opposite Sylvester Stallone, but the actor is still in impressive shape as he approaches his 69th birthday.

Lundgren, 68, was photographed in Philadelphia on Sept. 19 while on the book tour for his new memoir from Harper Collins titled “Fights Worth Fighting: Finding Strength in Struggle.”

In the new photos, the Swedish actor sported slicked-back gray hair and sunglasses while wearing a fitted white T-shirt with black trim and light-colored pants. One shot captured him smiling and waving at the photographer.

The casual T-shirt also made it pretty clear that more than four decades after Rocky IV, Lundgren hasn’t exactly abandoned the gym.

That shouldn’t be surprising. Lundgren recently told Muscle & Fitness that he still trains three times a week, combining weight training with karate. He said maintaining muscle becomes especially important with age and credited strength training with helping him through his cancer treatments.

The actor’s appearance comes after an extraordinary health battle that began when a cancerous tumor was discovered in his kidney in 2015. His cancer later spread, and at one point Lundgren was given a grim prognosis. After seeking a second opinion, however, doctors identified a mutation that allowed him to receive a different treatment, which dramatically shrank his tumors.

Lundgren announced in late 2024 that he was cancer-free.

According to Harper Collins, his experience as a cancer survivor is a major part of “Fights Worth Fighting,” which traces his unlikely path from chemical engineering student and martial arts champion to international movie star while also exploring his struggles with fame, family and cancer.

Lundgren’s Hollywood breakthrough came when he beat out thousands of other hopefuls to play Drago opposite Stallone in Rocky IV. He went on to star in movies including Masters of the Universe, The Punisher and Universal Soldier, before reuniting with Stallone for The Expendables franchise and eventually reprising Drago in 2018’s Creed II.

And Lundgren isn’t slowing down. Along with his memoir and book tour, the actor will be the subject of the upcoming documentary Dolph: Unbreakable, which begins streaming Oct. 6.

The Traitors: New Blood has arrived! Throughout the season, Mike Bloom will speak with someone from the star-studded cast who was murdered or banished on the iconic Emmy-winning reality series.

The Traitors is a game that’s all about clouding the minds of others with deception. And, for some, that deception began before even stepping foot in the castle. Kim Daily decided to lie about her law career before arriving in Scotland, worried about how people would see her. So she came in as a college basketball coach, hoping that team-oriented nature and motivational skills would make her a valuable Faithful. And, unfortunately, that’s exactly why Joe Vanella and Tomica Adams murdered her first. Looking at initial victims, they were worried about people who would be able to lead the charge against them at a Roundtable. And, given her apparent resume, Kim was perfectly qualified for the job of first boot. So she soon found herself standing on a dock, in front of two masked “Accomplices,” benched in the first quarter of the season.

Now out of the game, Kim talks with Parade about how much her fake job contributed to her elimination, who she most suspected as a Traitor by the time she was eliminated, and how she almost had her hand on a Shield in the first mission.

Nobody wants to be the first boot. But going into what would be your final night in the game, did you have any idea it would be you?
By the time I was out there, I knew what was going on. But by the time when I got the letter, oh, I was I was shocked to high heavens. I had no idea. Did not think that was going to happen. I actually thought that the coast was clear. I thought I was about to get recruited to be a Traitor and go ahead and go get a full night’s sleep that night. What a twisted turn of events!

So what was your reaction when you found out that one of the reasons Joe and Tamica wanted to murder you was because, given your fake job of college basketball coach, they were worried you could give a locker room speech at the Roundtable that could lead to their demise?
It’s true. And I think that I could have said that I was a baker from Kentucky, and they would have been like, “She is going to bake a cake that’s going to get us all killed.” I think the coach cover didn’t help, but I don’t think that it was the reason why what happened happened.

Well then, let’s talk about this coach cover. When you didn’t want to tell the truth about being a lawyer, why did you specifically settle on that?
I actually ran cycles before I left for Scotland on, “What do y’all think is most convincing?” People have commented throughout my life on my speech patterns, on the way that I walk into a room, on the way that I carry myself. And so there’s certain things I think it would have been a little unbelievable. I do make, unfortunately, a very believable coach, and I wanted that consistency. You don’t know how many lies you’re gonna have to keep up with on the show, and so I wanted a cover that I naturally fit into, and that was the one that I landed on. If anybody has any other ideas, I am happy to hear them! [Laughs.] Honestly, I’ve been racking my mind for months as to what could have been different. But I think I would have to be raised differently and have different experiences in life in order for the outcome to have been different.

Were there any times you came close to revealing you were actually a lawyer? Or when people were on to your actual job?
Absolutely. So there was one instance where Michael was signing something. And I don’t know what he was signing, but I was like, “Oh, just sign it like a pleading!” And no one says that unless you’re a lawyer. And I was like, “Damn it, Kim!” But there was another. There were two times it happened. Once I was in the kitchen and Arissa came in. It seems like she had just met Michael, and she was like, “Speaking of lawyers, you look like one.” And very quickly, I said, “I get that all the time. If you all have been watching women’s college basketball since the ’90s, you should recognize Sean Miller was the first to don a suit like this on a basketball court.”

So I went on this whole spiel about the rise of women’s basketball and women wearing men’s wear. They ate it up. And since probably part of her plot to get me off the show, Katie was like, “Really, a coach?” To which I responded, “Why does everyone keep asking me that? Yes, I’m absolutely a coach.” I made up a lie about how many years or X, Y, and Z. And I’m grateful for my cast member Madeline because she graduated from the University of South Carolina, and every women’s basketball coach knows that South Carolina women’s basketball dominates. So I’m gonna go with it. “You graduated in 2022? Yeah, they won the championship that year!” And then people left me alone because I know what I’m talking about because I’m a coach.

Who was the top of your Traitors suspect list by the time you were murdered?
Joe was one main suspect for sure. I kind of suspected about half the cast, to be honest with you. But Joe was at the top of that list, and I was still sussing everybody else out before I got caught in a trap.

What was it about Joe specifically?
I spent a lot of time with Joe during filming. He was the person I sat next to on the train. He was the person that I rode to the castle with the first time. And that was part of my goal: Get to know how people are from the beginning, and then see what changes happen once those blindfolds come off. And once those blindfolds came off, all of a sudden I was the most interesting thing in the world to Joe. I’m an interesting person. I can’t get enough of myself. But you seem to be doing a little bit of snooping. You seem to be trying to buddy up with me. I know I’m funny, Joe. I’m not that funny, my guy! So I was like, “This is some suspicious behavior. What’s going on here?”

What about Tomica?
She was on my radar, but further down. So I would say I suspected probably 10 people. She might have been about number eight.

Who were you working with closest by the time you were murdered?
Abby L. and I had just started to form a bit of an alliance, and so we were filling out, watching where everybody else went, deciding, “We’re gonna try to get a little close.” I was getting to know Jay, who I really can’t wait to see all that became of Jay once I left the castle. I have heard some things! And then Tomica is someone that I’m just naturally drawn to. But you can’t get too comfortable because it is a game of treachery and deceit.

Well, something that could have made you feel comfortable is a Shield. Did you ever debate going for one in that first mission?
Quiet as it’s kept, I actually touched the Shield in the challenge.

Really?!
I pulled myself up by the straps and did an excellent upper body workout. I got on the boat. I started to undo the things. It was getting hot. Felt like I was gonna pass out. Couldn’t access it easily. At that point, I’d been up there for a minute. I’m like, “I’m taking too much time away.” I feel like there’s a target on me. I don’t want people to think that I’m trying to cover up something. I’m a team player, Coach Kim. Coach Kim ain’t no threat! Some people that need a Shield are those who pose a threat. I’ll leave it. That’s how Madeline got the Shield. I knew my name would be on the chopping block. I didn’t think it’d be on then.

Joanna Gaines celebrated an emotional family milestone as her son Duke Gaines marked his senior night. The Fixer Upper star shared a rare photo on her Instagram Stories showing Duke, 18, standing on a football field with his parents, Chip Gaines and Joanna. 

Wearing his blue-and-white uniform, Duke held a gift bag while his mom carried a bouquet of flowers. “Senior night,” Joanna wrote over the photo, shared on her Instagram Story on Sunday, September 20. See the photo here.

The occasion comes as Chip and Joanna adjust to having several of their children entering adulthood. The longtime couple shares five children: Drake, 21, Ella, 19, Duke, 18, Emmie, 16, and Crew, 8.

Duke turned 18 on May 23, making senior year another major milestone for the family. He’s currently a senior at Valor Preparatory Academy in Waco, Texas, the same school his older brother Drake attended before heading off to play college baseball at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, according to The List.

Joanna and Chip generally keep their children out of the spotlight, though they occasionally share glimpses of special family moments.

Just months earlier, Joanna documented Duke’s prom preparations. She spent the day making bouquets and boutonnieres from flowers grown in the family’s garden before Duke and his friends headed to the dance.

“Nothing like hanging in the garden all day for prom prep with some sweet mamas. When the kids showed up they were gracious to let us take a million pics of them,” she wrote at the time.

Joanna has spoken about how quickly this stage of parenting is moving. “My older kids are at that age where they’re kind of starting the exit,” she previously told People.

“Knowing that [the older kids] will be gone in the next few years, I’ve made a conscious decision to create micro-moments, to feel in the now with our family, just be really more intentional with our time together,” she said, adding, “And hopefully, try and slow it all down a bit!”

Those family moments occasionally appear on Joanna’s social media. 

Earlier this year, she shared footage of her older children as toddlers for Father’s Day.

In August, she also posted a rare glimpse of all five kids during a Colorado vacation.

Jim Morrison wrote one of The Doors’ biggest hits after ending a three-year relationship, with the song becoming one of the band’s most popular tracks while helping shape several musical genres.

“The End” is largely known as one of The Doors’ standout tracks of their career. It was released as part of their self-titled debut album and was recorded as nearly a 12-minute long track. Despite its infamy, the song never charted because it was not released as a single.

Morrison gave the track a unique backstory that went beyond its original breakup theme. The Doors singer dated Mary Werbelow before he joined the band. According to the St. Petersburg Times, the two met at Clearwater Beach in the summer of 1962. Werbelow was there with a friend when she caught Morrison’s interest; the future rock star had lost a bet, and they soon developed a relationship.

For three years, the two dated, but kept their relationship away from the public and never shared any real personal details. Werbelow even traveled with Morrison from Florida to Los Angeles. The two would ultimately break up, with Morrison having penned “The End” about the ordeal.

“Every time I hear that song, it means something else to me,” said Morrison to Rolling Stone.

“It started out as a simple good-bye song… Probably just to a girl, but I see how it could be a goodbye to a kind of childhood. I really don’t know. I think it’s sufficiently complex and universal in its imagery that it could be almost anything you want it to be.”

The track would take on a new life and evolve over the next few months as The Doors began performing it at Whisky a Go Go. It became a much longer track, with Morrison having changed some of its improvised lyrics.

The singer failed to appear during a performance, and the band found him tripping on acid. They hauled him to the stage, and Morrison sang “The End” earlier in the set, shouting the lyrics “Father, I want to kill you. Mother, I want to f–k you!” The new lyrics had the crowd going wild, but also had them fired from Whisky a Go Go.

Many interpreted themes of death in Morrison’s lyrics and living life as freely as possible. Writer John Densmore once commented on how the singer explained the track’s true meaning.

“At one point, Jim said to me during the recording session, and he was tearful, and he shouted in the studio, ‘Does anybody understand me?'” he explained.

“And I said yes, I do, and right then and there we got into a long discussion and Jim just kept saying over and over kill the father, fuck the mother, and essentially boils down to this, kill all those things in yourself which are instilled in you and are not of yourself, they are alien concepts which are not yours, they must die.”

Critics tagged the song as a precursor to the gothic rock genre and helped shape progressive rock. The track was once listed on the Rolling Stones‘ “Greatest Songs of All Time” list and considered to have one of the best guitar solos.

When The Brady Bunch aired in the early 1970s, Barry Williams’ character Greg Brady had dreams of becoming a pro athlete or a rock star. So fans were surprised to find that 14 years after the original series ended, the eldest Brady brother had a career as a doctor when he returned for the TV movie A Very Brady Christmas as well as a subsequent 1990 drama series.

During a September 2026 fan appearance at RetroCon in Philadelphia, Williams, 71, was asked if he felt Greg’s occupation as an obstetrician/gynecologist was in character for him.

“Did you expect Greg to grow up and become Johnny Bravo?” Williams cracked.

The actor, who moved to Branson, Missouri, to do a musical variety show decades after The Brady Bunch, then explained how Greg’s career came to be, crediting producer Lloyd Schwartz for the idea.

“We first were introduced to that when we did A Very Brady Christmas, and I thought Greg, I saw kind of like filling [patriarch] Mike’s (Robert Reed) shoes at some point,” he shared. “You know, he  was protective of his brothers and sisters and kind of looked out for them. Kind of the leader and a caretaker, I guess, if you will. So it would make sense to me that Greg would grow up to take care of people and, you know, as a doctor, and so I thought it was a pretty good fit and kind of straight and established … So I thought it was a pretty, you know, pretty good fit.”

“I’m not sure I bought Bobby as a race car driver,” Williams added of the occupation of his co-star Mike Lookinland’s character in the 1988 holiday movie.

The Brady Bunch aired from 1969 to 1974 on ABC. During the original series run, Greg became obsessed with being a major league baseball pitcher and considered dropping out of school to pursue that dream. Other episodes featured him working on a songwriting career and an audition to be the “new” rock star Johnny Bravo. Even in his junior year in high school, Greg was clueless about his future career goals. In the season 4 episode “Career Fever,” he wrote a fake essay about wanting to be an architect like his dad.

Williams once revealed that he was happy to find out how Greg ended up.

In a 1988 interview with the Kennebec Journal, he revealed he only agreed to do A Very Brady Christmas after approving the script.

“It was a good experience, working with people I like a lot,” Williams said, according to MeTV. “I’m glad we’re doing a reunion because it somehow kind of legitimizes all of those early years. It almost makes them current. I can go my whole life and never do another Brady Bunch episode, and it will be okay because Greg has a kid and he’s a doctor and he’s married. It answers the question ‘Whatever happened to Greg Brady?'”

Brooklyn Beckham is paying tribute to longtime friend Presley Gerber, following the model’s death on Sunday.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Monday morning, Beckham shared a sweet photo of the two of them captioned, “I am so heartbroken, Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you so much x we love you.”

The tribute comes a day after Gerber’s family confirmed the news of his passing via a statement obtained by TMZ, in which they asked for “privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”

Both the same age, and the sons of famous parents, the two have seemingly been in the same friend group, having attended the same events and gatherings over the years.

In 2018, they were seen hanging out together at Coachella, E! News reported at the time, and Beckham also attended the 18th birthday party for Kaia Gerber, Presley’s younger sister, where he was also present, according to Vogue.

More recently though, Gerber supported Beckham at the launch party for his hot sauce brand Cloud 23 in 2024. Gerber’s model mom Cindy Crawford and dad Rande Gerber also attended the party, per the Daily Mail. The photo Beckham shared in his tribute post to Gerber was from the party.

Nicola Peltz, Beckham’s wife also took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, sharing a photo with a similar sentiment.

“I am truly devastated, Presley was pure light in this world, he had the kindest heart,” she wrote in part. “I feel so lucky to have had him in my life.”

While exact details around Gerber’s cause of death have not been revealed, it’s been confirmed that he died at a rehab facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. An autopsy has yet to be completed.

Gerber was open about his struggle with addiction on social media. In a since-deleted post from December of last year he shared, “The benzos have been fluctuating up and down depending on what’s been going on in my life,” and also disclosed that he was taking several depressant medications, including Buprenorphine, Xanax and Valium, to treat panic attacks.

However, he ended his post on an inspiring note, hoping to help others.

“So you feel like you’re not alone, because that is how I feel most of the time, and I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it,” he said.

Rewatching early seasons of classic TV shows usually brings a dose of nostalgia, but Friends fans might spot a surprising detail hidden right in plain sight.

Long before the series settled into its familiar groove, a memorable character made their screen debut, played by an entirely different actor. Their role was quietly recast immediately after that first appearance.

According to The Daily Express, the first time Friends viewers actually saw the character of Carol was in the episode, “The One Where Underdog Gets Away.” The actor playing the role? Anita Barone.

Barone was the first actress to play Ross Gellar’s (David Schwimmer) wife, Carol Willick. The character divorced Ross and eventually married Susan Bunch (Jessica Hecht).

According to Express, Willick chose to exit the series early on to pursue more substantial roles rather than a recurring supporting part. Coming so early in the show’s run, she had no way of knowing that Friends was about to evolve into a massive, global cultural juggernaut.

The role was quietly recast with Jane Sibbett taking over. She would play Carol through the end of season seven in 2001.

Screen Rant reported that Barone had initially auditioned for one of the show’s three female leads, roles that eventually went to Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow. Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry rounded out the cast.

Ironically, Sibbett also auditioned for one of the show’ female leads. She was offered the role of Rachel, the actress told News.com.au.

“I actually was up for another character. They wanted me to be one of the main six,” Sibbett revealed. “It was actually Rachel but I usually don’t tell people that because Jen; there’s no one who could’ve done it like Jen.”

However, Sibbett was pregnant at the time, and worried that would impact her casting. She admitted, “I asked them (agents) if they’d told the producers I was pregnant (at the time) and they said, ‘Oh no, we thought we’d tell them later.’ And I said, ‘No, you’ve got to tell them now.’”

“So obviously they (producers) said it wouldn’t work out. However, I have no regrets, my goodness, there’s no way anybody could have come close to what Jennifer Aniston did with Rachel. She was so perfect.”

Barone would go on to play Jeff Foxworthy‘s wife, Karen, during Season 1 of The Jeff Foxworthy Show on ABC. However, when the series moved to NBC for Season 2, the role was recast with Ann Cusack.

Jane Sibbett went on to make the role of Carol Willick an unforgettable piece of Friends history, and Anita Barone’s brief stint remains a fascinating “what if” for television buffs. Though Barone missed out on the historic decade-long run of Friends, her single-episode appearance lives on as one of the ultimate hidden trivia facts in sitcom history.

Major television networks are taking a united stand after President Donald Trump barred CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House.

ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, Fox News, and CNN announced Monday that they will not provide television pool coverage of Trump’s events after CNN was removed from its scheduled pool duties. The decision means the networks will not provide the shared camera feed that typically allows television outlets to cover presidential appearances.

“The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting,” the outlets said in a shared statement.

The move comes just days after Trump announced that CNN, MS NOW, and Politico were being banned from the White House, accusing the outlets of reporting what he called “fake news.” The administration began enforcing the ban Saturday, when journalists from the three organizations were denied entry to the White House and had their press access revoked.

The three outlets are now taking the dispute to court. CNN, MS NOW, and Politico announced Monday that they are suing the Trump administration, arguing that the White House’s actions violate their First Amendment rights.

“The president said it plainly in the Oval Office, describing his own planned action as a ‘ban on the free press.’ The Constitution protects the freedom of the press from government interference. That protection does not depend on whether the president likes a news organization’s coverage, agrees with its reporting, or approves of the questions its journalists ask,” White House Correspondents’ Association president and Fox News anchor Jacqui Heinrich said in a statement Friday.

Heinrich continued, “This is about more than the rights of journalists. It is about the right of the American people to receive a full and independent account of the activities, policies and decisions of whoever occupies the nation’s highest office. The WHCA stands in defense of our colleagues at CNN, MSNOW, and POLITICO who are being singled out for doing their jobs.”

Some movies never seem to get old, no matter how many years have passed since we first watched them. Can’t Buy Me Love is one of those 1980s favorites, and it has a surprising Michael Jackson and Beatles connection that makes the movie even more interesting to revisit.

The 1987 teen comedy opens and closes with the Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love,” a song that was part of Jackson’s enormous music catalog at the time. In 1985, Jackson purchased ATV Music Publishing, which owned the publishing rights to the majority of the Beatles’ songs.

Jackson’s ownership of the Beatles catalog became part of the story behind Can’t Buy Me Love. The filmmakers licensed “Can’t Buy Me Love” for both the beginning and end of the movie, giving the Beatles classic a prominent role in the film.

Released in 1987, Can’t Buy Me Love helped put Patrick Dempsey on the map. He plays Ronald Miller, a high school outsider who sees an opportunity to become popular when he pays cheerleader Cindy Mancini, played by Amanda Peterson, to pretend to be his girlfriend.

Of course, things don’t go according to plan.

The premise still feels surprisingly relatable nearly 40 years later. Ronald wants to fit in, Cindy is trying to protect her popularity, and both eventually discover that being admired isn’t necessarily the same as being happy.

Part of the movie’s enduring appeal is how completely it captures the era. The clothes, hairstyles, high school dances and Ronald’s lawnmower all bring back a very specific version of 1980s teenage life.

And then there’s the African Anteater Ritual, one of those unforgettable movie moments that fans can probably still picture decades later.

Actress Julia Stiles, 45, has her hands full these days, juggling life as a busy mom of three boys and crushing it as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, a show she’s self-admittedly “obsessed” with. But once things settle down a bit, perhaps with a Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy perched on her mantel, Stiles has her sights set on another surprising dream: directing a music video for one of her favorite bands.

Stiles dished on her future (and her past) while appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, in an interview airing on Monday, September 21 (check your local listings). As host and music icon Jennifer Hudson praised Stiles’ moves on the dance floor, she said it was clear Stiles is a music fan.

“I love music,” Stiles beamed. “I do not play an instrument. But I absolutely love music.” So much so, she said, that when she was a teenager growing up in New York, she would walk around the city “with my headphones on and I’d, like, imagine music videos and then I’d take my camcorder and I (tried) to make music videos.”

Hudson then asked Stiles which artist she’d love to direct a music video for, and the 10 Things I Hate About You actress had an immediate answer. “Haim, the band,” she blurted out. “Oh ladies, if you’re listening, I’m here! I’ll be available after Dancing with the Stars is over.”

“After I win the Mirrorball trophy,” she teased, and then backpedaled, “No, no, no, I’m in it for the journey!”

Haim is a pop-rock band of three sisters — Alana, Danielle, and Este — who’ve been making music together since they were kids. They skyrocketed to fame when they toured with Taylor Swift and, in 2021, became the first all-female rock band nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys.

“Yeah, I think they’re amazing and they’re great in their music videos,” Stiles told Hudson. “They are often in them, singing and lip-syncing and performing, and I think their music videos are really cool. I watch them all the time. That would be fun, ladies!”

Stiles, her pro partner Ezra Sosa and their fellow contestants will be back on the dance floor for the second week of Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, September 22, from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern.

Celine Dion is back onstage, back in Paris, and apparently not quite ready for the show to end when the curtain falls.

After performing the third show of her highly anticipated Paris residency on Friday, September 18, the singer had an unexpected encore waiting for her outside her hotel. Dion climbed barefoot onto the hood of a parked BMW, where she sang and danced with a crowd of fans gathered outside.

And yes, there is video.

Dion, 58, was captured hopping onto the black car before removing her slippers and settling onto the hood as fans surrounded the vehicle. When her 1995 French-language hit “Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore” began playing, she immediately joined in.

The crowd sang along as Dion swayed to the music, tapped her feet and conducted her fans from her very unconventional stage. At one point, she even stretched out across the hood of the car before getting back up and continuing to dance.

The spontaneous moment ended with Dion clapping along with the crowd and making a heart shape with her hands before saying goodbye to the fans.

It was a fittingly joyful moment for the singer, who has spent years working toward her return to the stage.

Dion kicked off her 26-show Paris residency on Sept. 12 at the Plenitude Arena in nearby Nanterre, marking her first full concert in more than six years. Her live career was interrupted first by the COVID-19 pandemic and then by her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause muscle stiffness, painful spasms and mobility problems.

Her return to performing has been an emotional one. During the opening night of her residency, Dion became visibly emotional just seconds into the first song before telling the audience that she had made a promise to come back.

The singer has also made it clear that her fans played a major role in bringing her back to the stage. Ahead of the residency, Dion said the performances were a way to show her longtime supporters how much she had missed them.

The feeling appears to be very much mutual.

Dion’s Paris residency is scheduled to continue through May 2027, giving fans plenty more opportunities to see the superstar on stage.

Halle Berry noticed Zendaya’s Emmys pixie cut, and she loved it.

Berry, 60, shared on Sunday, Sept. 20, that she talks to Zendaya, 30, and called her “my little sweetheart.” She also said she hopes the two of them find a project to do together someday. Berry spoke at a Create & Cultivate event in downtown Los Angeles focused on menopause, aging and women’s health.

At the 78th Emmy Awards on Sept. 14, Zendaya walked the red carpet in a custom Prada dress covered in silver sequins, with her hair cut into a pixie much like the one Berry made famous. She had shown off the shorter cut on a night out with two Euphoria costars shortly before the Emmys. Her hairstylist, Coree Moreno, described the Emmys version as a reimagined pixie, styled with texture and lift.

Berry shared that she loves everything Zendaya is doing and thinks the actress is changing the game for her generation. She said she felt honored that Zendaya paid homage to her and called the gesture sweet.

This is not the first time Berry has talked about sharing a screen with Zendaya. She told Variety in 2022 that she would love to play Zendaya’s mother, and she said it again in February on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Four-time World Series champion and five-time MLB All-Star Bernie Williams is set to make his official Broadway debut as a special guest guitarist in the show’s legendary Afro-Cuban band. Williams will perform for an exclusive six-week run beginning Thursday, October 22.

While sports lovers know Williams for his 16-year career as a center fielder for the New York Yankees, his deep-rooted passion for music is less known. Williams is a classically trained musician and a Latin Grammy–nominated jazz guitarist who earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in 2016.

Williams, whose No. 51 jersey was retired by the Yankees in 2015, has spent decades blending jazz, classical, rock and Latin music, having previously performed at Carnegie Hall and alongside renowned recording artists.

For Williams, taking the stage in Buena Vista Social Club represents a deeply personal moment that connects directly to his upbringing in Puerto Rico.

“I am excited about the opportunity to join Buena Vista Social Club because the music was part of my childhood growing up,” Williams shared in a statement. “I remember my mother listening to this music on Sunday afternoons and it reminds me of wonderful times with my family when I was a kid. The opportunity to play that same music on Broadway in this show is truly a dream come true.”

His addition to the production highlights the powerful role music plays in preserving culture, family memory and heritage—a theme central to the narrative of Buena Vista Social Club.

Williams won’t be the only Major League Baseball veteran gracing the stage at the Schoenfeld Theatre this fall. Recording artist and MLB veteran José Iglesias—affectionately known to music and baseball fans as “Candelita”—made history earlier this season when he became the very first Latino MLB player to debut on Broadway.

Iglesias, who played for the New York Mets before entering free agency, stepped into the role of the Narrator for what was originally intended as a limited six-week run. However, due to overwhelming demand, producers have officially extended Iglesias’s run with the show for another six weeks through November 15, 2026.

Iglesias’s transition from the infield to the Broadway stage has earned widespread critical praise. New York Post columnist Matt Levy praised the former infielder’s natural stage presence, writing, “Jose Iglesias is a star in Broadway’s Buena Vista Social Club. He slides into the ensemble with ease, like a great pinch hitter.”

The excitement surrounding Buena Vista Social Club doesn’t stop with baseball royalty. The show is stacking its fall roster with incredible acting and vocal talent.

Film and television star Gina Torres—best known for her iconic roles in Suits, Firefly and 911: Lone Star—will join the Broadway company in the leading role of “Omara Portuondo.” Torres is scheduled to perform from Tuesday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Nov. 29, 2026, bringing both her screen presence and vocals to the stage.

Additionally, Tanairi Sade Vazquez (The Great Gatsby, Hamilton, West Side Story) will step into the spotlight to take over the role of “Young Haydee” from Oct. 27 through Nov. 15. Vazquez, an award-winning actress and dancer, is a huge advocate for Latiné representation across film, television and theater.
