Heather Graham, 56, Rocked Instagram With a White Bikini Video and Fans Can’t Stop Calling Her Ageless

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:33am

Heather Graham is stopping social media in its tracks with her new sunbathing video.

Graham, 56, who broke onto the scene in films like Drugstore Cowboy and License to Drive, later solidified her role as a Hollywood staple in hits like Boogie Nights and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. With her soft blonde hair and bright blue eyes, the gorgeous star has the acting creds to back up her stunning looks. And with a new gig starring on The White Lotus, it’s incredibly exciting to see what she’ll bring to season 4. While she was just frolicking in the French sunshine in recent photos during her downtime from the set, the star has moved on to Italy.

"Sending love from Tuscany," Graham captioned her new Instagram Reel, which showed her wearing a white string bikini and black sunglasses as she sunbathed with her legs in the pool.

How Does Heather Graham Maintain Her Looks? View this post on Instagram

Graham looks absolutely stunning at 56, leading many to wonder what her trick is. She recently told Retreat Magazine that she doesn’t drink alcohol or use drugs, and she gets plenty of sleep. A healthy diet and workout regimen keep her body and mind going strong. However, she also believes in keeping her head straight.

“I think what matters most is how you feel inside. Decide that you’re hot and enjoy your life. What other people think of you is none of your business. If you feel good about yourself, no one can take that away from you. Pursue the things that fill you with joy, and surround yourself with loving people,” she told the publication. “Also, I do affirmations. I think they are very powerful. I work on strengthening my inner loving parent muscle, so I can be supportive and loving to myself. One of my affirmations is: ‘This is the best time of my life.’”

"Easily the best blank/basic white tee ever," one shopper raved in a review.

"I've been searching everywhere for a good white tee and nothing compares to these," another shopper added. "The fit is perfect for summer, the material feels high quality and they hold up way better than any other white shirts I've tried. After buying these, I honestly don't see myself wearing anything else."

Other shoppers echoed similar sentiments, with one describing it as "one of the nicest feeling t-shirts" and another calling it "simple and clean" while noting it was "exactly what I needed."

The praise didn't stop there, either. "The cotton on these always feels great and no matter how many times I wash them, they look amazing," another fan wrote. "I have so many different colors of these and I wear them all the time."

While the shirt does follow men's sizing, it's actually a reliable unisex option, making it a great gift for anyone in the family looking for a straightforward fit that works across a wide range of body types. Even better, it's incredibly easy to style, pairing easily with your favorite pair of denim, straight-leg pants, baggy chinos, dress slacks, shorts, workout gear and more.

Don't waste any time adding one (or two) to your collection, though. With summer in full swing, it's only a matter of time before everyone else gets the same idea. And if you're looking for more options, Old Navy also has two straightforward picks worth keeping in rotation: the Crew Neck T-Shirt and V-Neck T-Shirt.

7 Things Scary Mommy Founder Jill Smokler Accomplished Before Her Death

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:30am

Jill Smokler, the founder of Scary Mommy, died on June 22, 2026, at age 48.

According to a tribute published by Scary Mommy, Smokler died after a more than two-year fight with Glioblastoma.

She started Scary Mommy in 2008 with a very simple first post: "Here goes. Day One."

At the time, Smokler was a stay-at-home mom with three young children. What started as a personal blog eventually became one of the most recognizable parenting sites online.

Here are seven things Smokler accomplished during her career.

1. She Started 'Scary Mommy' From Home

Smokler launched Scary Mommy in March 2008.

In a 2017 essay for TIME, she wrote that she was living in a new town with three kids under 4, a large dog and a husband who traveled for work.

She started the blog while her children were napping.

At first, she thought it would just be a place to write about her own family. Then strangers started reading and commenting, and everything changed.

2. She Built a Place for Parents to Be Honest View this post on Instagram

Scary Mommy stood out because Smokler was honest about the harsh truths of parenthood.

She wrote about the kind of days many parents were having, but not always admitting to.

In her TIME essay, Smokler remembered finding other moms online who understood her. They were also struggling, yelling, burning dinner, and wanting a break.

It made parents feel less alone without pretending everything was easy.

3. She Turned a Personal Blog Into a Community

Scary Mommy did not stay a one-woman blog forever.

As the site grew, Smokler added ways for readers to submit their own stories.

According to TIME, she said that change helped turn the site from her personal journal into a community of "imperfect parents."

4. She Sold 'Scary Mommy' to Some Spider Studios View this post on Instagram

Smokler also turned Scary Mommy into a business.

In her TIME essay, she wrote that she sold the company to Some Spider Studios in 2015, seven years after starting it.

After the sale, she stayed on as editor-in-chief and continued overseeing the site's content.

By that point, Scary Mommy had grown far beyond the small blog she started at home.

Smokler wrote that the site had gone from publishing a handful of posts a week to about 20 a day.

5. She Became a Bestselling Author

Smokler also brought the Scary Mommy voice to books.

According to People, she wrote two New York Times bestsellers: Confessions of a Scary Mommy (2012) and Motherhood Comes Naturally (and Other Vicious Lies) (2013).

6. She Took Her Message to National TV

Smokler's work eventually reached audiences beyond the blog and books.

She appeared on programs including Today and Good Morning America.

Those appearances helped introduce more people to Scary Mommy and to the kind of parenting conversations Smokler had been having online for years.

By then, she had become a familiar voice in the parenting space.

7. She Kept Being Honest Until the End

Smokler publicly shared her glioblastoma diagnosis in May 2024.

According to People, she wrote at the time, “Glioblastoma was not on my 2024 bingo card, alas, here we are. Life changes fast, friends."

After her diagnosis, Smokler said that she wanted to spend time with her children, ideally at the beach.

Her family remembered her in a statement shared by Scary Mommy and People, saying she spent her life telling the truth about motherhood and that she was proudest of her three children, Lily, Ben, and Evan.

Smokler founded Scary Mommy because she was honest about motherhood, even as many people still felt pressure to make it look easy.

Many parents recognized themselves in that.

Brandi Glanville Offers Health Update After Saying Her Facial 'Parasite' Returned

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:29am

Brandi Glanville is sharing another update on her health after announcing earlier this month that the "parasite" causing her facial disfigurement had returned.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsalum, 53, shared the latest on her diagnosis journey on the Thursday, June 18, episode of her Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast, revealing that when she went to a dermatologist to have a lump on her jaw examined, the test results returned with a surprise.

"I have a benign tumor in one of my lymph nodes in my face," Glanville explained. "That could be why the fluid is going around my face."

"It came back on the blood test," the reality personality continued, adding that before going to her current dermatologist, "Every doctor that I've shown, they're like, 'It's just scar tissue.' I'm like, 'From what? I haven't had a facelift yet.'"

Lamenting that she can only wear makeup "for like 15 minutes" before having to take it off, Glanville said she was looking forward to being able to put her health problems behind her. "I just want to put a ton of makeup on again, get my hair extensions," she said. "I want to have a glow-up."

Glanville's new diagnosis comes just weeks after the Bravo personality lamented the return of the facial "parasite" she's blamed for many of her health problems.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me, guys. I thought I was fixed and then it happened again," she said on the June 4 episode of her podcast. "And now it’s sinking in again. If I had answers, I would tell you. I’ve been to a million doctors."

Glanville said that the only treatments that had helped her over the past three years were exposure to sunlight, taking a parasite medication and implementing a "parasite diet."

"I don’t have answers," she went on. "Is there a doctor that specializes in parasites? Because I can’t find one. I’ve been to a thousand dermatologists. So anyway, we don’t know what’s going on but I’m here to get to the bottom of it."

Glanville first started experiencing health issues in July 2023 and has claimed that she can both see and feel a "parasite" moving inside of her face. In February, the model said that doctors ultimately pointed toward a ruptured silicone breast implant as the cause of her health issues.

“I was shocked, because they’re implants that I’ve had for almost 20 years, they looked fine, they felt fine, the mammogram said they were fine, it wasn’t until I had a sonogram," she told TMZ at the time. "I thought, if it's not broke, don't fix it, but I learnt a really, really hard lesson.”

1972 Hit Made a 13-Year-Old an Overnight Country Star With a Shockingly Mature Song

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:23am

Few artists have ever stepped into country music at an age when most kids are still in middle school and immediately changed the conversation around what a star could sound like, but Tanya Tucker did exactly that.

She recorded “Delta Dawn” at just 13, tackling the song’s mature theme with a voice far beyond her years. It was a moment that instantly set her apart and signaled the arrival of a rare kind of country star.

Her version of the song quickly caught fire, turning her into an overnight sensation in Nashville and far beyond. Before long, Tucker wasn’t just a promising newcomer; she was one of country music’s most talked-about young voices.

Although the song was later popularized by Helen Reddy and Bette Midler, Tucker's version was picked by UDiscover Music as one of the best country songs of the 70s. They wrote, "There was a grit to her voice beyond her years, a bluesy pain that suggested her childhood had been far from idyllic, that leaves you with a quietly eerie feeling."

Parade Daily🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

According to American Songwriter, the Tucker song was composed by songwriters Alex Harvey and Larry Collins. Harvey shared his story about writing the song in the book Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music.

“When I was fifteen years old, I was in a band,” Harvey wrote. “We had just won a contest and we were going to be on a TV show in Jackson, Tennessee. My mother said she wanted to go. I told her that I thought she would embarrass me. She drank and sometimes would do things that would make me feel ashamed, so I asked her not to go that night.”

However, he later discovered that his mother had tragically died in a car accident. He was overcome with guilt and channeled his energies into music. Over a decade later, he wrote "Delta Dawn" based on his late mom.

Tucker told CMT, "The first time I heard 'Delta Dawn' was in Billy Sherrill, my first producers' office. It was 1972."

"When the song was finished, I said, 'That's my song.' The credit I give Billy, and I give him all the credit, he listened to me. And I never recorded a song with him that I didn't want to."

"They rushed released it. I didn't have a record deal, I didn't have an album. I only had a deal for three songs."

She concluded, "My relationship with 'Delta Dawn' is ongoing. I never get tired of singing it, and I think that's a real blessing because I've had to sing it a lot. All the stars were lining up, and they lined up perfectly on that day."

More than five decades later, “Delta Dawn” is still the song people point to when they talk about Tanya Tucker’s unforgettable debut. It remains a striking reminder of just how young she was, and just how quickly she proved she belonged in country music.

Fast-Food Workers Dread When You Order This—and It's Not What You Think

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:18am

We’ve all been there: waiting in a fast-food drive-thru craving a comforting, quick meal. We order our favorite go-to item, hand over our money and drive away happy. What you probably don't realize is that the simple order you just placed might have caused a collective sigh of dread from the kitchen crew inside.

When we think of difficult fast-food orders, we usually imagine massive catering orders, hyper-specific customized burgers or complicated secret menu hacks people find on social media. However, the items that fast-food employees actually dislike making the most are often the most unsuspecting, permanent staples on the menu. From classic childhood favorites to seemingly simple cheesy snacks, some fast-food items are secretly notorious for disrupting the entire kitchen workflow.

😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔

The frustration rarely has to do with how the food tastes. Instead, the pressure mounts when a drive-thru timer is ticking down and a worker has to wrestle with a jammed steamer or frantically roll dozens of identical items while a line of cars wraps around the building. It's a perfect storm of messy assembly lines, tedious ordering questions and equipment that can't keep up with a heavy lunch rush.

Here, we've rounded up the common menu staples fast-food workers dread making, and the results may surprise you.

What Fast-Food Workers Hate That You Order

These are the seven menu items from major chains like McDonald's, Taco Bell and Starbucks that workers secretly hate making—and exactly why they cause such a headache.

1. McDonald's Happy Meal

Emile Wamsteker / Bloomberg via Getty Images

A Happy Meal might be designed for kids, but some McDonald's employees on Reddit say it's one of the orders they least enjoy taking.

The reason has nothing to do with the food itself and more about its assembly. Workers frequently mention that Happy Meals come with a long list of questions: nuggets or a hamburger? Apple slices or fries? What drink? Which sauce? And sometimes, which toy? The process can get even slower when customers wait until they're at the speaker to decide.

The challenge isn't making the meal—it's getting all the answers. A burger or nuggets can be assembled in seconds, but figuring out exactly what goes into each specific Happy Meal can take a lot longer.

2. Taco Bell Cheesy Roll-Up

A tortilla wrapped around melted cheese doesn't sound like the kind of menu item that would make workers groan, but according to Taco Bell employees, the Cheesy Roll-Up can be surprisingly annoying.

Workers say that large orders often require multiple rounds in the steamer because only a few roll-ups fit at a time—and then comes the rolling and wrapping.

A couple of Cheesy Roll-Ups aren't a big deal. The groans start when a family order includes a dozen of them. As one Taco Bell employee put it on Reddit, few things are more memorable than a minivan pulling up for "12 cheesy roll ups for the kids and one burrito supreme for the parent."

3. Subway Meatball Marinara

Photo by Image Professionals GmbH on Getty Images

If there's one Subway sandwich that employees seem to have a love-hate relationship with, it's the Meatball Marinara. On Reddit, workers describe the sub as messy, awkward to wrap, and especially challenging when customers load it up with vegetables and sauces.

The meatballs already take up a lot of room, and things can go sideways fast when the sandwich is made on flatbread or ordered with double meat. And making double-meat meatball subs can quickly make them so soggy they practically fall apart by pickup time.

4. Taco Bell Chicken Quesadilla

The Chicken Quesadilla looks like one of the simpler items on Taco Bell's menu, but employees say otherwise. On Reddit, workers repeatedly called out quesadillas because of the number of steps involved in creating one. Each one has to be filled, steamed, grilled, wrapped and cut before it reaches the customer.

The biggest complaints tend to come during rushes. Several employees said quesadillas can create a bottleneck when multiple orders hit at once, while others noted that they have a habit of sticking to the grill.

Related: McDonald's Has a Breakfast 'Secret Menu'—and These 7 Items Are Worth Ordering

5. McDonald's Snack Wraps

McDonald's Snack Wraps may have a devoted fan base, but some former employees aren't nearly as enthusiastic about making them. On Reddit, McDonald's workers say the wraps were a pain because they took more time to assemble, and large orders of three, four or five wraps could quickly slow things down

The complaints aren't really about the ingredients. They were about the extra handling. Burgers can be assembled quickly, but wraps require a little more finesse, especially during a rush. Snack Wraps are delicious—as long as you aren't the one making them.

6. Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust Pizza

Pizza Hut's Stuffed Crust Pizza has plenty of fans, but former employees say it also requires more work than a regular pie.

In online discussions, workers describe stretching dough around cheese and sealing the crust before the toppings are even added. On Reddit, one former Pizza Hut employee said stuffed crust wasn't a problem when business was slow but that it became "torture" during a rush.

The complaints aren't usually about making one pizza. It's when several stuffed crust orders hit the screen at once. Compared to a regular pie, employees say stuffed crust pizza simply comes with a little more prep before it ever reaches the oven.

7. Starbucks Frappuccinos

Photo by Lauren DeCicca on Getty Images

Ask Starbucks baristas which drink they'd happily make fewer of, and Frappuccinos come up again and again. Across Reddit threads, workers say the frozen drinks can throw off workflow because they involve more steps than a typical latte or cold brew, from blending and pouring to adding whipped cream, drizzles and toppings.

The frustration isn't necessarily with a single Frappuccino. It's when several show up at once, especially during a morning rush or after school. As one barista put it on Reddit, Frappuccinos are "the baristas' bane," while others say the drinks are notorious for slowing down drink production.

How You Order Matters Too

At the end of the day, a messy meatball sub or a tedious Happy Meal isn't the only thing that tests a fast-food worker's patience.

The real headache usually comes down to how we order. Ask any drive-thru veteran, and they will tell you that the absolute worst orders are the hyper-customized TikTok trends and "secret menu" hacks. It forces the kitchen to slow to a crawl just to decipher a laundry list of modifications, completely wrecking their drive-thru times.

The same goes for pulling up to the speaker box during a massive lunch rush and ordering for a family of six without knowing what you want yet. It's not about making the food hard for the sake of it—it's about breaking the rhythm of a crew that is already sprinting against a literal countdown clock. A little preparation and keeping the substitutions to a minimum go a long way.

So, the next time you pull up to the drive-thru speaker box, maybe skip the 20-step customization—your drive-thru crew will definitely thank you.

Madonna’s 'Like a Prayer' Co-Star Has 'Literally Not Aged At All' 37 Years After the Iconic Video

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:16am

While New York Knicks fans revel in the thrill of an NBA championship victory, some of the team’s longtime celebrity supporters are being spotlighted thanks to social media videos shared from the team’s victory parade through Manhattan. Famous fans like Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, and Timothée Chalamet are well known for their Knicks fandom, but one '80s icon surprised fans not only with his parade appearance alongside Stranger Things star Matthew Modine, but also with his ageless appearance.

It’s been more than 30 years since actor and singer Leon Robinson, 60, co-starred alongside Madonna in her trailblazing 1989 "Like a Prayer" music video. Robinson became a part of pop culture history after appearing as a saint-like figure in the controversial and iconic video.

Leon Robinson Celebrates Knicks Championship View this post on Instagram

Robinson, a New York native and longtime Knicks fan, joined the team’s celebration through Manhattan on Thursday, riding on a float alongside players like Karl-Anthony Towns, Modine, and other jubilant basketball fans.

Despite the excitement surrounding the Knicks’ NBA championship, Robinson’s youthful appearance had social media followers gushing in the comments. More than 30 years after starring in the "Like a Prayer" video, the actor, singer, and director looks remarkably unchanged.

“Unbelievable, he has literally not aged at all…” shared one commenter. Another added, “Looking fabulous.”

“How do you still look this good, man?” asked another.

From “Like a Prayer” to Hollywood Success

Madonna’s "Like a Prayer" video may have elevated Robinson’s profile, but the actor built a successful career throughout the 1990s and 2000s. His standout performances include Cool Runnings, The Five Heartbeats, Above the Rim, Waiting to Exhale, Cliffhanger, and HBO’s Oz.

In addition to the "Like a Prayer" video, Robinson is perhaps best known for portraying real-life music legends David Ruffin in The Temptations and Little Richard in Little Richard, with the latter performance earning him an Emmy nomination.

The lasting impact of Robinson’s performances remains evident today. Social media commenters turned the discussion into a virtual group chat, reciting memorable lines from his most beloved roles.

“Kicked who out?” quoted one fan, referencing Robinson’s famous line from The Temptations miniseries, a moment improvised by the actor himself.

“Ain’t nobody come to see you, Otis,” quoted another.

What Leon Robinson Is Doing Today

Robinson continues to work steadily in television and film while also maintaining a successful music career. He performs with his reggae band, Leon and the Peoples, and remains a beloved figure among fans of both music and entertainment.

Still, his joyful appearance celebrating a championship more than 50 years in the making may have become one of Leon Robinson’s most memorable moments yet.

I Just Got a New Fridge: Here Are 5 Organization Tips I'm Borrowing From the Pros

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:15am

After living with a small, unsatisfying fridge for nearly five years, I recently took the plunge and upgraded to a larger (and more aesthetically pleasing) option—and I couldn't be happier. I decided to go with a bottom-freezer fridge to make accessing my day-to-day ingredients a bit easier, and I've been loving this design so far.

However, it's been a while since I've thought much about fridge organization (my last one was so cramped that there wasn't much I really could do by way of bins and the like!). So, in order to ensure that I'll truly make the most out of my new appliance, I tapped a handful of pros and asked them to share their top organization hacks. They certainly delivered, and I can't wait to get my fridge into tip top shape.

1. Cater Your Fridge Organization to Your Lifestyle

While my new fridge has a crisper that's meant for storing fresh produce, I've already found that putting containers or plastic bags of fresh fruit in this drawer has led me to forget what I have on hand before it goes bad. Moving forward, I'll be following two pieces of advice from Michaele Tocco, the founder of Michaele's Precise Planning. Her first suggestion? "Create zones based on how you actually live," Tocco says. "The biggest mistake I see is organizing a fridge based on what looks good instead of how a family functions."

Tocco's next tip is to organize the fridge in a way that reinforces your nutritional goals. "Store washed produce and healthy snacks at eye level where they're easy to grab," she suggests. "The items you see first are often the items you eat first." Noted!

That said, it's also important to be realistic about your lifestyle and eating habits over the course of a given week. "Don't overbuy fresh food," cautions Jean Prominski, the founder of Sparkle Home Organizing. "Be realistic about how much produce and fresh food your household can consume before your next shopping trip."

2. Give Leftovers a Clear Home

Photo by Steven Puetzer on Getty Images

Given that I live alone, I usually accumulate a few servings of leftovers every time I cook. That said, it's all too easy for leftovers to be relegated to the back of the fridge, but Tocco offers an easy solution. "Designate a shelf specifically for leftovers and place it at eye level," she says. "This simple system reduces food waste and makes meal planning easier because you can quickly see what needs to be eaten first."

Prominski agrees and notes that she maintains what she refers to as an "'Eat Me First' zone" inside of the fridge, in which she'll store leftovers or food that will expire if not consumed soon.

3. Take Bulk Products out of Their Packaging

Photo by Penpak S. on Getty Images

I'm guilty of purchasing a box of canned seltzer and placing it directly into the fridge. Again, though, in order to have a clear sense of what's on hand, removing items from their package is the better bet, notes Maria Baer. The founder of The Baer Minimalist recommends removing the packaging encompassing yogurt cups, miniature guacamole containers, soft drinks, and the like so that they're easy to see and access as needed.

4. Don't Stress Over Countless Containers

Photo by Andrey Znamenskyi on Getty Images

I've seen so many fridge organizing photos and videos over the years that I would've totally assumed that using plastic containers and the like was the epitome of success according to all experts—but it turns out that's not the case! "One thing I've learned as a professional organizer is that refrigerator organization isn't really about containers—it's about visibility and reducing food waste," Prominski says.

Still, the organizer notes that, of course, clear bins are sometimes beneficial; the key is just to not overuse them. "I recommend keeping the system simple enough that family members will actually maintain it," she explains.

5. Manage the Freezer Like a Pro

Photo by SolStock on Getty Images

Bottom-freezer refrigerators like mine come with their own set of considerations as it pertains to frozen food. Tocco, who is well-versed in these types of setups, offers a few simple hacks that I'll surely be implementing. "Place the foods you reach for most often in the easiest-to-access areas," she says with regard to the freezer.

"If you're constantly moving five bags of frozen peas to get to your breakfast sandwiches, your system isn't working for you." Another tip she offers is to make use of freezer-safe bags as often as possible. "Soups, sauces and prepped meals take up significantly less space when frozen flat in freezer-safe bags," Tocco explains. "Not only does this maximize storage, but it also makes categories easier to maintain."

Prominski offers a few of her own suggestions that are specific to bottom-freezer fridges, explaining that this is where bins do indeed come in handy "so food doesn't disappear into a frozen 'black hole.'" Pairing like with like is key. "Group similar items together (vegetables, proteins, prepared meals, desserts, etc.) and label homemade foods with dates whenever possible," Prominski states.

Disney’s Largest Cruise Ship Ever Is Creating A Massive Island-Wide Festival This Summer

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:10am

Back on March 10, 2026, the Disney Adventure officially made history as the line’s largest ship ever built and the very first to be permanently homeported in Asia. The massive vessel has spent its inaugural spring season racking up rave reviews for its localized storytelling and sprawling layouts. But while the ship is busy sailing its popular three- and four-night itineraries out of the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, Disney is bringing that onboard magic directly to the shore for travelers who aren't quite ready to pack their cruise bags just yet.

Disney Cruise Line has officially partnered with the Sentosa Development Corporation to launch "A Magical Island Adventure: Let's Set Sail with Disney Cruise Line," according to reporting from Blooloop.

Running from June 24 through September 20, 2026, the three-month summer festival is designed to take Sentosa’s lush natural landscapes and famous beach precincts and transform them into immersive pop-up experiences. The massive installation serves as a living, breathing land map of the actual ship, with zones directly modeled after the Disney Adventure’s seven onboard themed areas.

For travelers who love a great visual photo-op, the scale of these temporary spaces is absolute wonderland material. The journey starts at the island's famous Sensoryscape venue, which has been transformed into a regal promenade representing the ship's central "Town Square." The area features 13 separate, beautifully styled Disney princess-themed hammock installations where guests can lounge under the tropical canopy. Over at the Tactile Trellis attraction, the "Disney Imagination Garden" area comes to life via a massive, 16-foot topiary installation meticulously shaped into the iconic Disney Cruise Line logo.

If you're traveling with family or just want to tap into some high-vibe nostalgia, Palawan Beach is bound to be your main afternoon anchor. The sand will play host to the "Toy Story Place" zone, packed with larger-than-life bath toys, interactive bubble inflatables, and a massive themed play area. Right next door, the high-tech world of "San Fransokyo Street" takes over the beach, headlined by a jaw-dropping, 20-foot-tall inflatable Baymax that is practically guaranteed to dominate your social media feeds.

The adventure also stretches across the island’s most famous landmarks. The Central Beach Bazaar will showcase an 11-foot "Magical Compass" installation that visually maps out the ship's distinct zones, and the transit experience is getting a full thematic upgrade—all three stations on the Sentosa line of the Singapore Cable Car will feature custom Disney photo backdrops, and the actual cable car cabins are getting a full, top-to-bottom graphic wrap.

But the real show-stopper for anyone who loves an evening stroll comes at sundown. The Southernmost Point of Continental Asia—famous for its dramatic suspension bridge and coastal views—is being completely reimagined as a glowing coastal wonderland. The nighttime illumination is inspired by the marine beauty of "Disney Discovery Reef" and the high-seas energy of "Wayfinder Bay," letting guests walk across the illuminated edge of the continent while experiencing the exact oceanic design aesthetics currently floating out at sea.

Ultimately, the Sentosa takeover highlights the pure, transportive magic of Disney storytelling. Bringing these seven distinct worlds to life on land means you don't even have to leave the shore to feel the incredible energy of this historic new ship. From sunset strolls across a glowing suspension bridge to afternoon beach days under the watchful eye of a giant Baymax, the festival seamlessly blends a beautiful tropical destination with the beloved characters and high-vibe imagination that only Disney can deliver.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Savannah Guthrie Makes Tearful Plea in Search for Missing Mom

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:08am

Savannah Guthrie fought back tears on Tuesday, June 23, episode of Today as she urged viewers to come forward with anything that could help investigators find her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie.

The longtime NBC anchor came on air live a day after NBC News reported that a second note tied to her mother's disappearance claimed that she had died. Seemingly responding to the reports, she noted that even though she is not part of the show's news coverage of the case, she could not remain silent during the segment.

"This is unusual and unprecedented to say the least to be sitting here," Savannah said.

View this post on Instagram

She then made a direct appeal, urging people to come forward with information. "So since I am I just wanted to take the opportunity to really ask people and really beg people to come forward because somebody knows something," she continued.

The award-winning TV host explained that the case that is making headlines nationwide is a devastating daily reality for everyone close to her. "This is a news story today that is on your radar, but this is the life my sister, Annie Guthrie, lives, that I live, that my brother, Cameron Guthrie, lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day," she said.

The 54-year-old said the uncertainty continues to take an emotional toll on her family. "We are in agony," she added. "We cannot be at peace."

Explaining how she is navigating this phase, Savannah added, "No matter how much I try to come out here every day and smile and find that joy and I will, I promise I will this is a moment to say we need your help. … I'm not gonna miss that opportunity."

While investigators are still working the case, the Today host insisted that even the smallest detail could matter. "No matter how small, the reward is there. You can tell us, it can be anonymous. Please do the right thing," she said.

The segment ended with Savannah reaffirming her family's commitment to finding their mother. "We love our mom, and we'll never stop looking for her. Ever."

After her emotional remarks, her longtime colleagues offered support. Craig Melvinreminded viewers that an FBI tip line is open for anyone with information. He also praised Savannah’s strength through the ordeal. "The bravery and courage with which you have done this job every day since that happened is nothing short of remarkable," Melvin said.

As Savannah and her family navigate a painful chapter in their personal lives, investigators are still working to find Nancy and whoever is responsible for her disappearance. Authorities have maintained that the 84-year-old was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home in the middle of the night. No suspect has yet been publicly identified.

Anyone with information about Nancy's whereabouts or what might have happened to her is asked to call Tucson’s 88-Crime hotline at 1-520-882-7463 or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Oprah Winfrey Reveals How She Kept Whitney Houston's Onstage Fall Out of the Press

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:03am

Oprah Winfrey says she protected Whitney Houston from public scrutiny after the late legend fell off the stage, having apparently relapsed ahead of her final appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The media mogul opened up about using her television influence as a "force for good" during her presentation to Cannes Lions delegates at the Lumière Theatre in the Palais des Festivals on Tuesday, June 23, recalling at one point her decision to protect Houston from a devastating public moment in 2009.

"This was an amazing thing that happened. I had such trust from the Oprah Show audience … I think it was [Houston’s] last show with us, and she had gone back on drugs," Winfrey said, as per Variety. "The first interview I did with her, when we’d gone behind stage and I asked her about her intention, she was clean, but the day she came to my show then to perform in front of the audience, she was not, and she fell off of the stage."

Winfrey said that she knew how devastating the incident would have been for the "I Will Always Love You" artist and jumped into action.

"I knew that if that story got out … she would be destroyed by that," Winfrey said. "And so even though the audience was there and the audience had cameras, I begged them not to put those pictures out because it would ruin her life, and they did not. That would not happen today, I can tell you that."

Three years later, Houston died in February 2012 at the age of 48 due to an accidental drowning.

Winfrey later impressed upon her fellow creators the responsibilities that they hold. "Your bigger job here on the planet is to be the best human being you can be, not the best creator, not the best talk show host, not the best podcaster, but how are you evolving into what creation intended for you to be?" she asked.

Blondie Singer Debbie Harry, 80, Ditches Her Legendary Blonde Hair for White Tresses on the Red Carpet

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:02am

Blondie legend Debbie Harry may no longer be blonde, but she looks incredible with white hair.

Harry, 80, became a music staple in the late ’70s and ’80s thanks to her role as lead singer of the band Blondie. With hits like “The Tide is High” and “Rapture,” the beauty became one of the most desired musicians of her day. However, she hasn’t exactly slowed down in the decades that followed, and she still hits the stage to perform regularly.

In a new appearance, Harry kept her momentum going as she hit the red carpet for the Supergirl world premiere in New York City. Wearing a black jumpsuit with an electric green shirt underneath, the music icon made it clear she's got style to spare in her eighties. While her trademark blonde hair may be gone, she's rocking white tresses like an absolute pro.

Check out some photos of Harry below:

What’s Next for Debbie Harry?

While she’s best known as a music icon, Harry has done her fair share of acting, with roles in David Cronenberg’s Videodrome and John Waters’ Hairspray. However, her upcoming role sounds like quite a doozie. Last month, Deadline reported that Harry will play Pamela Anderson‘s mother in a comedy called Maitreya that’s directed by Portlandia creator Jonathan Krisel.

“Maitreya (Anderson), a rising star in the New Age Healing community who is about to head off to a conference in India when she receives a call from her estranged sister, Monica: their father is dying. Rather than stay home with him, Maitreya decides to bring her entire family – including her mother Barbara (Harry) – to the conference and put her New Age healing theories to the test (all while surreptitiously gathering material for her next book),” the description reads.

Now that sounds like an interesting one!

11 People Who Could Host 'Survivor' After Jeff Probst

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 9:00am

751 players have competed in 50 seasons of Survivor so far. But there's only one person who's become the face of the franchise: Jeff Probst. In a game full of an unlimited amount of variables, Probst has been the biggest constant, serving as the CBS reality show's host since the very first season. And his role both in front of and behind the camera has only grown, now overseeing nearly every facet of life on the island as showrunner and executive producer.

Over 26 years, Probst has been rewarded handsomely for his hard work, as winning four straight Emmys for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program has shown that Survivor is a gig worth hosting (for). And, given all the tireless effort, talent and passion he's put into helping keep the show going, he's deserved his place as one of the most iconic hosts of all time, up there with the likes of Johnny Carson, Bob Barker and Alex Trebek.

🔥Don’t miss our weekly Survivor newsletter! Sign up to get Mike Bloom’s exclusive interviews with the players and the latest news about the show right to your inbox.🔥

There's a commonality between all of those men, however. As much as they were at one time all regarded as venerated institutions of television, they all eventually left their post. At first blush, it would be near-impossible to imagine American Survivor without the "Probst Master General." But even though the 64-year-old has previously said Survivor is the best job he'll ever have, he does feel the show can carry on even without him carrying the torch snuffer. So the question is, if Probst were to ever retire, who would step into his metaphoric khakis and blue shirt to take over?

We've compiled a list of 11 people who could take over as Survivor host, from legendary former players to celebrity superfans to even a former host of an international edition. So come on in!

Who could host Survivor after Jeff Probst?Boston Rob Mariano Boston Rob Mariano

While Probst is absolutely the consensus choice for "the face of Survivor," if you picked a player, you'd be hard-pressed not to choose Boston Rob Mariano. The legend has appeared on a whopping six seasons, over a fifth of the show's run up to this point. He's half of one of the show's biggest-ever storylines, finding love and going to the end with his eventual wife Amber Brkich on All-Stars. He put together a masterclass in his winning season on Redemption Island, quite literally writing the rulebook on how to play. Not to mention that, with his recent appearances on The Traitors and Deal or No Deal Island, the reality TV world is experiencing a bit of a "Boston Rob Renaissance." Arguably being the most in the spotlight in over two decades, it would make sense to strike while the iron is hot to bring him in as emcee.

Parvati Shallow Parvati Shallow on 'Australian Survivor: AU V The World'

But Boston Rob isn't the only Survivor legend to have a second stint in the spotlight in the 2020s! Parvati Shallow cemented her legacy as one of the best to ever play all the way back in 2010, helming some of the most impressive moves in the show's history. In her time away from the island, she went through some monumental life changes, but was able to show her Survivor shine never dulled, taking home her second win on the all-star season Australia V The World with arguably her greatest performance ever. Additionally, while known as a contestant first and foremost, Parvati has done a large amount of hosting work around Survivor over the years. She led the official CBS after-shows for four seasons, and did cast previews for TVGuide, even getting to vote Probst himself out of the game. And that small bit would prove prophetic if the "Black Widow" were able to extend her web out to another leg of Survivor production.

Cirie Fields Cirie Fields with the first-ever 'Spirit of Survivor' award at the 'Survivor 50' finale

Robert Voets/CBS

We're not going too far for our next pick, as we're hopping over to Parvati's self-proclaimed "Survivor Soulmate." You'd be hard-pressed to say Cirie Fields isn't the most popular player in Survivor history, able to simultaneously showcase the lethal moves that people are capable of making, as well as the emotional journeys one can undergo to do more than you could ever imagine. Despite never winning, Cirie has established herself as one of the greatest players in the show's history, able to not only astoundingly make it to the endgame every time she plays but also do so with panache and power.

Her taking over would be the perfect follow-up to seemingly her final season on Survivor 50, where she earned not only the Fan Favorite prize, but the first-ever "Spirit of Survivor Award." Perhaps part of that trophy comes with a hosting job as well? Ideally, Probst's successor would be someone with authority, yet relaxed enough to let players drive conversation, in a position of respect, but able to comfort people at their worst with softness and sincerity. Given that criteria, you'd be hard-pressed not to couch Cirie in the discussion.

Tyson Apostol Tyson Apostol

Robert Voets/CBS

While empathy is certainly a must out of any good host, many Survivor fans would tell you their favorite version of Probst is what's colloquially known as "Spicy Jeff." There are myriad compilations online of his snarky retorts, sassy one-liners, and brutal call-outs over the past quarter-century. And if there were one alum who would fill that role perfectly, it would be Tyson Apostol. The Season 27 winner is one of the funniest players in the show's history, not afraid to call someone out either in confessional or to their face.

But, as Tyson has showcased over his four seasons on the show, he's more than just a wisecrack or ten. He's showcased an ability to manipulate and dominate a season, fighting against a handful of alumni and their loved ones to take home the win. And he's recently stepped into the hosting role on his podcast The Pod Has Spoken, recapping and analyzing the show, as well as conducting exit interviews with current players. With a mind for the game and a talent for commentary, there wouldn't be many feathers ruffled (or rustled) if he stepped in as host.

Rob Cesternino Rob Cesternino

Euan Cherry/PEACOCK

If we're speaking about former players who podcast about Survivor, we can't not mention the biggest of them all: Rob Cesternino. After competing twice, the once-called "smartest player to never win" revolutionized the media landscape around the show with Rob Has a Podcast. For 16 years, he's turned his Survivor superfandom into his life's passion, creating a veritable media empire, a stint on The Traitors, and, most recently, a New York Times-bestselling book.

Simply put, if Survivor is looking for someone with plenty of experience both digging deep into the show and moderating conversations, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better Tribal Council emcee than Rob. Despite not having played since 2004, his role around the show is incredibly prominent, with several RHAP patrons and even a podcaster appearing as castaways. Outside of Probst, Rob is perhaps the person who has spent the most time out of anyone in human history thinking — and especially talking — about Survivor. It would be a prime opportunity for the "know-it-all" to show exactly what he does know.

Rick Devens Rick Devens on 'Survivor 50'

Robert Voets/CBS

Of course, if we're talking about people with broadcast experience, we'd be hard-pressed not to bring up one of the biggest stars of Survivor's most recent season. Rick Devens has been a massive presence on both of his island stints so far, earning praise for his seemingly endless array of antics during the many times his back has been against the wall. Despite his adversity, though, what's notable about Devens is his unlimited font of positivity, an ability to mine the most amount of fun out of every experience, no matter how miserable it may be. That passion for Survivor is certainly something CBS would want in a host, as it would be assuredly contagious to the players themselves.

Plus, even amidst all the idol finds, fireworks and MrBeast coin flips Devens has caused during his time on Survivor, there's one resume point that stands out above all: The fact he has decades of experience as a morning news anchor. During Season 50, when Probst competed alongside the castaways as part of a twist, he even took over doing commentary, and predictably pulled it off with ease. At one point, production had a plan for Devens to be a part of Season 41, owning a market to sell advantages to players. Perhaps, all these years later, they can finally enact that plan — albeit with a large promotion.

Andrea Boehlke Andrea Boehlke

Robert Voets/CBS

While Devens built a broadcasting career before playing on Survivor, Andrea Boehlke had the exact opposite trajectory. Despite playing her first time at only 21, her spunkiness and skills earned her appearances on two other seasons, making deep runs in all of them. But, starting in 2015, she parlayed her 15 minutes of fame into a full-on career, serving as an on-air talent for People. She even got the chance to go back out to Fiji a fourth time, but not as a contestant, doing preseason press for Survivor: Ghost Island.

Not to make this entire exercise a matter of age. But it should be mentioned that, out of the alumni mentioned so far, Andrea is by far the youngest at 37. Ideally, if Survivor were looking for a new host, they'd want someone they could hopefully get decades out of as well (Probst himself started hosting the show when he was 39). If the show is looking for a successful, media-savvy alum who can contribute longevity to the role, Andrea perfectly fits the bill. Plus, she needs a make-good for having her only seasons be three of the least popular in the show's history!

Jonathan LaPaglia 'Australian Survivor' host Jonathan LaPaglia

Courtesy of Channel 10

Let's say you're not looking to cast a former player in the host role. If you want to replace Jeff, why not simply get his Australian counterpart? Jonathan LaPaglia was working in the industry for 50 years as an actor before he landed the hosting gig in the reboot of Australian Survivor. And, while it took some time for him to get adjusted to the role, he eventually took to it like a koala to eucalyptus. Through his ten seasons on the show, he was able to strike a fantastic balance of wisecracking and peacekeeping, knowing how to play his part without taking up too much space. While he started his reality TV career with accusations of simply being a Probst clone, by the end of his tenure, some were calling him the best Survivor host the franchise has ever seen.

Tragically, Jonathan's time with Australian Survivor came to an end after ten seasons (ironically, in the instance where Parvati and Cirie crossed over into international waters) when he was let go by the network. While the show was able to continue with former champ David Genat taking over, his dismissal prompted a massive outcry, with many advocating he get another chance to host somewhere else. Plus, if Jonathan were to helm his second Survivor series, it wouldn't be that difficult to change all of the name tags in wardrobe from "JP" to "JLP"!

Joe Manganiello Joe Manganiello

Monty Brinton/NBC

Jonathan was far from the first celebrity to make their foray into reality TV hosting, nor was he the last. And one of the most recent actors to take on a hosting role was Joe Manganiello. The Magic Mike star strutted his stuff, leopard-print at all, as the emcee of two seasons of Deal or No Deal Island. And, for a concept as ridiculous on paper as "Deal or No Deal as a social strategy game," Manganiello was a perfect person for the emotionality and volatility of the high-stakes game, with people risking millions of dollars over picking the right briefcase.

It also helps, as the True Blood standout told Parade, that he's a massive Survivor fan. We saw that come out on DONDI, where he got to geek out with the likes of Boston Rob and Parvati as contestants. He would absolutely jump at the chance to follow in Probst's footsteps, clearly harboring a passion for both game design and storytelling. Give the man an island and a jungle, and he'll be on the next flight.

Michelle Khare Michelle Khare

Courtesy of Michelle Khare

As we witnessed this spring, Survivor has accrued some quite famous fans over the years, spanning the wide world of entertainment from Jimmy Fallon to Billie Eilish. One of the many is Michelle Khare, a YouTuber who rose to prominence with her hit series Challenge Accepted. Having done everything from training like a NASA astronaut to running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days, she's a prominent example of throwing yourself into the unknown with an openness and eagerness to learn about yourself along the way.

Sound familiar? That's eerily similar to how Probst has described Survivor as of late, consistently saying, "The game is the lure; the experience is the prize." Now, compared to the people that came before Michelle on this list, this is admittedly more of a left-field choice. But, looking into her career more, Survivor might seem like the perfect fit. She's hosted a reality TV show before, helming the 2020 HBO Max kids show Karma. She's a huge fan, having attended the Season 50 finale. Perhaps we'll see a Challenge Accepted video in the near future titled "I Tried Hosting Survivor."

Someone we haven't met yet

From its early seasons, Survivor has instilled in its players the idea that they may not knowing what's coming the next day (even though a certain other CBS show has taken the "expect the unexpected" motto). So, in that vein, for all of our talk, it's very possible that we simply haven't seen the next host of Survivor yet. But, as Probst himself has teased, we may be seeing them as soon as this fall.

"Every so often I meet a player," he tells The Wrap. "There’s actually somebody in Season 51 that in casting, I think I said to them, 'You could probably host this show,' meaning your instincts as a storyteller and about people are so good that you could probably sit in this chair and you’d be just fine." It seems like the "open era" may end up being an open casting call for a possible future Survivor host as well!

1977 No. 1 Movie Theme Song, Recognized From Its First Five Notes, Became a NASA Wake-up Call Favorite

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 8:57am

When composer Bill Conti released "Gonna Fly Now" as part of the Rocky soundtrack in 1976, he didn't know the track would inspire generations far beyond the movie theater. After hitting No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 1977 and earning an Oscar nomination, the song became so popular and inspiring that it eventually made its way to space and quickly became a go-to choice for NASA's astronaut wake-up calls in orbit.

How NASA’s Wake-Up Call Tradition Took Off

SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox.

NASA’s wake-up call tradition began in the early days of the Space Race as a way to help astronauts structure their days in orbit. What started as a scheduling tool during the Gemini and Apollo programs, featuring military songs, show tunes, and college fight songs, evolved into a daily ritual during the Space Shuttle era and later during the International Space Station missions.

Mission Control would play songs chosen by astronauts, their families, or flight directors at the start of each mission day. Over time, these wake-up calls became a way to boost morale, personalize long missions, and connect astronauts with their loved ones back on Earth.

The Day Mission Control Played Rocky for Astronauts in Space

The Rocky theme became a go-to in this tradition thanks to its motivational tone and association with perseverance and overcoming the odds. "Gonna Fly Now" made its NASA wake-up call debut during STS-41-C aboard the Challenger in 1984, where astronauts proved that satellites could be serviced while in orbit.

Photo by Paopano on Getty Images

One of the theme's most memorable wake-up calls came during STS-49 aboard Endeavour, a mission packed with firsts that saw astronauts perform the first three-person spacewalk and complete a dramatic satellite rescue operation. From 1984 to 2008, the song appeared multiple times across Space Shuttle wake-up calls and became a NASA favorite.

A Hit in Space and on Earth

While recreating Rocky's famous run up the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps would have been impossible in zero gravity, the song's message translated perfectly to life in orbit. Whether you're a boxer on a quest for greatness, an astronaut working 250 miles above Earth, or building a pre-workout playlist, "Gonna Fly Now" proved that a good song can inspire listeners on the ground and in space.

This Rare Solar Eclipse Won't Happen Again in Your Lifetime — Here's How to See It

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 8:55am

A rare total solar eclipse will sweep across Iceland on August 12, 2026, enveloping parts of the country in daytime darkness. This event is prompting international travelers to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience in one of the most fantastical destinations on the globe.

How rare is the solar eclipse in Iceland?

While total solar eclipses occur at various points on Earth about every 18 months, according toNASA's National Solar Observatory, one like the direct hit on Iceland is super rare. Seeing as the country hasn't experienced one in Reykjavík since June 17, 1433, based on Iceland's countdown site via eclipse2026.is, this makes this an event 600 years in the making.

According to the site, this solar eclipse will cross the Westfjords, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and the Reykjanes Peninsula before reaching greater Reykjavík. And it describes the event as starting when the Moon's shadow touches down on Icelandic soil at the Westfjords' Straumnes Lighthouse, first at approximately 5:44 p.m. local time and exiting the mainland by the Reykjanestá Lighthouse in about six minutes. It's set to sweep the sky from northwest to southwest. It notes that the relatively populated places, including Akureyri and Höfn, that travelers can visit will still offer up to 98 percent of the sun in silver-outlined obscurity.

The following are recommendations from Eclipse2026.is on where to go and the total duration, and varies depending on where you view it along the path.

Westfjords: Here is where you will get the longest totality on the mainland, clocking in at 2 minutes and 13 seconds at Látrabjarg. Ísafjörður, the region's largest town, will witness a totality lasting 1 minute and 31 seconds.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula: This is a highly picturesque place to be for the solar eclipse, just three hours from Reykjavík. In Hellissandur and Ólafsvík, the entire event will run close to 2 minutes. Meanwhile, it will last 1 minute and 50 seconds in Grundarfjörður. Expect crowds there, as the Kirkjufell mountain backdrop here draws a lot of people. For less touristy spots, try Arnarstapi and Búðir, which are adjacent to the Snæfellsjökull glacier.

Reykjanes Peninsula: Hit two bucket-list places at once with easy access from Keflavík International Airport. Spots such as Garður and Sandgerði, which also have The Blue Lagoon in the viewing patch, offer up to 1 minute 40 seconds of totality or about 1 minute 36 seconds from the water. This is super convenient if you're going for a quick trip.

Reykjavík: The capital will also be in the line of the eclipse if you happen to be there. However, it gets a shorter window, coming in at one minute downtown. Tall buildings can obstruct your view, so plan ahead to find a good spot in west-facing areas, as the sun will be low in the Western Sky.

What to know about booking flights to Iceland for the solar eclipse

Based on findings from the travel platform Kayak, flights are fluctuating right now, averaging around $1,200 round-trip from the United States at major airports on either coast. Demand is only going to intensify if travel flight patterns continue to dip due to low global summer vacation turnout, so there could be an opportunity to capitalize on an even cheaper flight. But we wouldn't bet on it.

Visit Iceland states that August can typically be one of the more expensive months to book trips to its destinations. The site advises, "If you're traveling to see the eclipse, plan to arrive in Iceland several days before August 12 and stay a few days afterward. Do not expect to arrive on the same day as the eclipse and still make it to a viewing location in time. Arriving early gives you more flexibility in case of weather changes and helps avoid the busiest travel periods," and it encourages prospective visitors to book rooms as soon as possible by offering adventurous accommodation suggestions, such as "Renting an RV is a flexible alternative that lets you adapt to changing weather conditions, and Iceland has countless campsites to choose from."

One of the Best-Selling Albums Ever Is Climbing the Charts Again

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 8:52am

More than three decades after it helped turn Metallica into one of the biggest bands in the world, The Black Album is still finding new listeners.

The band's self-titled 1991 album has returned to two Billboard rankings this week, re-entering the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart at No. 47 while climbing to No. 9 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

For most artists, chart success lasts a few months. For Metallica, it has lasted decades.

Released on Aug. 12, 1991, Metallica marked a major turning point for the group. The band's first four albums established Metallica as one of heavy metal's most influential acts, but The Black Album introduced a more streamlined sound that connected with a much broader audience without abandoning the band's signature power.

The record produced some of the most recognizable songs in rock history, including "Enter Sandman," "The Unforgiven," "Nothing Else Matters," "Sad but True" and "Wherever I May Roam." Those tracks helped propel the album to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, where it spent four consecutive weeks atop the chart.

Its long-term success has been even more remarkable.

The Black Album has now spent 547 weeks on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart and 466 weeks on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking. It previously reached No. 1 on both charts and remains one of the most successful catalog albums ever released.

The album also reached a major milestone in 2025 when it was certified 2× Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying more than 20 million copies sold in the United States alone. Worldwide sales have topped 30 million copies, placing it among the best-selling albums in music history.

Critics and fans alike have long viewed the album as a landmark release. In addition to bringing heavy metal further into the mainstream, it helped establish Metallica as a stadium-filling global act. Rolling Stone later included the record on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

"After a decade of breaking metal’s speed limits, Metallica pared down their sound to the bare bones for their self-titled Black Album. 'Enter Sandman' became a blockbuster because listeners finally had the space to sing along with James Hetfield’s bleak vision," wrote Rolling Stone. "Metallica achieved maximum heaviness on “Sad but True” by letting their guitars ring out for once ... and showed unusual depth for a band named Metallica with the sincere, no-bulls--t ballad 'Nothing Else Matters.'"

The renewed chart success comes as Metallica remains an active touring force. The band is currently traveling the world on its M72 World Tour, which recently made headlines after guitarist Kirk Hammett took a fall from the stage during a concert in Dublin. Hammett quickly returned to the performance and later joked about the incident on social media, reassuring fans that he was unharmed.

Few albums released in 1991 are still charting in 2026. Fewer still are adding to chart runs that already stretch into the hundreds of weeks.

Nearly 34 years after its release, The Black Album remains exactly what it has been for generations of rock fans: essential.

1978 Tango-Infused Rock Track, Which Was Originally Banned, Includes an Amusing 'Butt Dial'

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 8:43am

It’s hard to believe that “Roxanne” by The Police included an amusing mistake at the start, especially when it flawlessly fits into the music.

Sure enough, the first big hit for the British band features a hilarious mistake, and the whole band decided to keep it. You can hear it in the first fix to six seconds of the song, a chord and laugh that sounds like it perfectly fits with the style of the track, and it was actually a “butt dial” of sorts. Literally played by Sting’s behind.

Sting explained it in an interview that he “just wanted to rest.” As he sat back on what he thought was a closed piano lid, he quickly found out that the keys were exposed, and he played an odd chord while recording. He even laughed at his own clumsiness, and all of that was kept in the recording of the song, because “it was real.”

The 1978 track nearly didn’t take off in the way that it would eventually be known. In fact, it was banned from the radio airwaves by the BBC in the UK, with the view that the song was too explicit with hidden meanings.

The decision angered the band, especially when “Banned by the BBC” was put on posters and still didn’t do anything to stir people toward the track. According to a 2023 interview, Sting shared that, “There was no talk about fucking in it, it wasn’t a smutty song in any sense of the word. It was a real song with a real, felt lyric, and they wouldn’t play it on the grounds that it was about a prostitute.”

Sure enough, the song itself was about a prostitute, and it came about because Sting realized how beautiful some of the girls were when he first saw them on the streets. However, they didn’t have much to work with apart from a general story in the song, and it was drummer Stewart Copeland who suggested that they infused the rock with the tango sound. Guitarist Andy Summers explained, “Stewart put that slight reggae thing on, and Sting changed where he put the bass beats. We worked it up in one afternoon.”

Thanks to an underground radio station in Texas, “Roxanne” gained popularity. From there, other radio stations in the United States picked up the song, and while it didn’t hit the No. 1 spot, it did help to put The Police, finally, on the map. They would walk away with two No. 1 hits in 1979 with “Message in a Bottle” and “Walking on the Moon.”

Since then, “Roxanne” has become one of the most renowned songs by The Police around the world. It was covered in Moulin Rouge, adding more of a tango style to the track, and artists such as George Michael and Fall Out Boy have put their own styles to the track.

Popular Protein Ice Cream Brand Expands Beyond Pints With an Entirely New Dessert Line

Tue, 06/23/2026 - 8:31am

If you've ever wished your favorite Häagen-Dazs ice cream bar would contribute to your daily protein intake in a meaningful way, boy, do we have news for you. Protein Pints, a high-protein ice cream brand, is making moves into a new space this summer—one that's nostalgic as ever.

On Tuesday, the macro-friendly frozen dessert brand revealed it would be launching a new line of high-protein ice cream bars. Fittingly dubbed Protein Pops, the new treats aim to recreate several classic flavors with a protein-packed twist that actually contributes to your gains.

And as Paul Reiss, co-founder and CEO of Protein Pints, put it, the timing couldn't be better. Not only is protein having a moment (just look at recent offers from Doritos, Kraft, Starbucks and even Papa Johns), but summer is "prime ice cream season and the perfect moment to introduce Protein Pops."

"With Protein Pops, we wanted to create something people genuinely crave in a format that complements their busy lives, while still delivering the protein and ingredients our customers expect," Reiss added. "Pops offer everything people love about our pints, now in a convenient grab-and-go format."

Protein Pints Debuts New Line of Ice Cream Bars in 4 Flavors

The novelty pops will be available in four flavors inspired by combinations long found in the freezer aisle: Caramel Crunch, Vanilla Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Mint Crunch.

Each Protein Pop delivers 10 grams of chocolate-dipped complete protein (meaning each has all nine essential amino acids), 5 grams of net carbs, 3 grams of fiber, and 4 grams of total sugar (only 3 of which are added), significantly less than a traditional ice cream bar.

  • Caramel Crunch: Caramel ice cream with sweet swirls of caramel dipped in milk chocolate and sprinkled with crunchy inclusions.
  • Vanilla Crunch: Protein-packed vanilla ice cream dipped in a milk chocolate shell and topped with crunchy bits.
  • Peanut Butter Crunch: Peanut butter ice cream coated in a milk chocolate shell and sprinkled with crunchy pieces.
  • Mint Crunch: Mint-flavored ice cream dipped in a milk chocolate shell and finished with crisped rice.
Protein Pops debut flavors (L-R): Caramel Crunch, Mint Crunch, Vanilla Crunch and Peanut Butter Crunch.

The bars are made with real ice cream, natural ingredients, and never any artificial sweeteners (using monk fruit instead). Protein Pops are gluten-free and contain about 180-190 calories per serving (one 2.4-ounce bar).

Where Can I Buy the New Protein Pops?

A limited quantity of all four flavors (sold in packs of three) is now available online at the official Protein Pops website, with the first shipments headed to the frozen section of Sprouts Farmers Market stores next week (Monday, June 29; prices may vary).

The brand said it has plans to expand the ice cream bars to Harris Teeter locations in late July and additional retailers nationwide closer to the fall.
