1993 Classic Rock Album Became Iconic Band's First No. 1 33 Years Ago
On this day 33 years ago, one of the biggest rock bands in history finally achieved an exciting milestone in their career as their latest album became the first to reach No. 1. The band in question was Aerosmith.
Despite first forming in 1970, it took the band, which currently consists of members Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry, and Brad Whitford, over two decades to finally top the charts in America, and they did it with the record Get A Grip. Although the album was released on April 20, 1993, it wasn't until the next month, on May 8, that it reached the top position on the Billboard chart. It ended up being one of the group's best-selling albums ever.
The album wasn't just a chart-topper in the U.S. either, as it also hit No. 1 in Finland and Switzerland. In other countries that included Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, Australia, the U.K., and more, Get A Grip got into the Top 3 on the album charts.
Get A Grip had quite a few official singles in the U.S. and U.K., including "Livin' on the Edge," "Eat the Rich," "Cryin'," "Amazing," "Crazy," and "Shut Up and Dance." The new music from Aerosmith made a huge impact on music lovers everywhere, and they ended up earning two Grammy Awards for songs on the album in two different years.
"Livin' on the Edge" won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1993, while "Crazy" won the same award in 1994.

At the time of the album's release, the band made it clear that they felt like it wasn't even their best work. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Hamilton declared, "We didn’t, and still don’t, feel like we’ve done the Aerosmith album that we know we can do."
"We’re really proud of what we’ve done up till now, but every time you get to the end of recording an album, you know you can do it better so you get really hungry for the next time," he went on.
After Get A Grip, Aerosmith went on to release the albums Nine Lives, Just Push Play, Honkin' on Bobo, and Music from Another Dimension!

Eddie Van Halen’s Ex-Wife Recalls a Heartbreaking Turning Point in Their Marriage
Valerie Bertinelli is reflecting on a heartbreaking turning point in her marriage to Eddie Van Halen, opening up about the emotional toll of watching his health decline. In a candid interview with Ted Danson, Bertinelli recalled becoming increasingly frustrated and concerned over Van Halen's smoking and other coping habits following his cancer diagnosis.
"I was so angry with him," Bertinelli said on the May 6 episode of SiriusXM’s Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast. "At one point, we were still together, and he had surgery to cut off part of his tongue. And the doctor said, 'You know this is because you smoke, right?' And I was like, 'Ed, God, you better stop smoking.' Yeah. 'Just stop smoking. I don't even care about the alcohol anymore. Just stop smoking.'"
"It was hard. It was hard for him. He used a lot of different tools that were soothing but harmful for his body. A lot of us use different tools in our toolbox for trauma that numb ignore any kind of feelings we don't wanna feel..." she continued.
Van Halen was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2000. Following surgery to remove part of his tongue, he was cancer free by 2002. About a decade later, he was treated for throat cancer and, in 2017, he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. He died three years later—at the age of 65—following a stroke.
"I loved Ed more than I know how to explain," Bertinelli wrote in her book, Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today, according to People. "I loved his soul."
Also in her book, Bertinelli shared one of the last conversations she had with Van Halen before he died. "Maybe next time. Maybe next time, we'll get it right," she told him.

Inside the Detroit Michelin-Key Hotel That Brings the City’s Best Boutique to Your Door
If your ideal girls’ trip involves less time navigating crowded malls and more time catching up over a bottle of champagne in your robe, the Shinola Hotel—Detroit’s only Michelin Key property—just delivered the ultimate itinerary upgrade.
Through a new partnership called Curated by Coup, the hotel has essentially turned its guest suites into private, high-end trunk shows. By tapping into Coup D'état, a Detroit East Side boutique that The New York Times recently named one of the "50 Best Clothing Stores in America," they’ve created a way to experience the city's best style without ever leaving your floor.

For a group of friends celebrating a milestone or a "Solo Social" traveler looking for a stylish getaway, this is a new breed of "room service" that feels like a total dream. "Our goal is to give guests elevated access to high end fashion through a locally rooted lens," says Jacob Dondzila, General Manager at Shinola Hotel. "Coup D'état was the perfect fit, the most fashion-forward boutique in the city, carrying pieces by top global brands and Detroit-based designers too."
The real magic happens when the Coup D'état team arrives at your suite to set up a private showroom tailored specifically to your group’s taste. You can try on pieces from cult-favorite designers like Sandy Liang and Eckhaus Latta, or discover local Detroit gems like Detroit Rose, all while enjoying a professional styling session in the comfort of your room. "You can even book a Shoppable Suite and have Coup's team come directly to you, setting up a private showroom tailored to your taste, styling you alongside what you've already packed," Dondzila explains. "For a group celebrating together, that's a shared moment, not just a service and it's what turns a great stay into an exceptional one."

If you realize you need a last-minute "statement piece" for a big dinner out, you can order an outfit change straight to your door. You can even browse the boutique's roster online before you check in and have your selection waiting in your closet when you arrive. According to Dondzila, the response to this seamless access has been immediate. "The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Guests are excited to find this level of fashion access built into their stay," he notes. "The collaboration feels natural because both brands share the same values of community, quality and a deep connection to Detroit."

The partnership reflects a broader movement in travel where access is becoming the primary amenity. As Evelina Chiang of Vantage X points out, modern luxury is about "feeling taken care of" and removing the "heavy lifting" of travel. Guests, especially those celebrating a milestone, are seeking an experience that feels completely personal. By bringing a homegrown boutique directly to the guests, Shinola is offering a shortcut to the city’s heart. "Local credibility, exceptional taste and a shared commitment to this community made this partnership a natural fit," says Dondzila. It turns a standard shopping trip into a shared social event, allowing you to spend less time in transit and more time enjoying the convivial energy of a well-earned weekend away.

Cavit’s Popular Pinot Grigio Just Went Back to 1970s Prices—but Not for Long
Cavit is giving fans a reason to cheer with a limited-time deal on select wines—and we’re spilling all the refreshing details.
In honor of the popular Italian winemaker's 50th anniversary, and just in time to celebrate National Pinot Grigio Day, Cavit is offering a throwback deal that discounts its Pinot Grigio to that of its original 1970s price after rebate.
"Bringing Cavit Pinot Grigio back to its original 1970s price is a meaningful way for us to celebrate this milestone with consumers," the brand told Parade via email. "This promotion gives both longtime fans and new consumers an opportunity to engage with the brand in a way that feels nostalgic, accessible and timely."
Cavit Celebrates 50th Anniversary With 1970s Pinto Grigio PricesIf you're new to Cavit, it's actually short for Cantina Viticoltori Trentino (a wine cooperative made up of 11 wineries and over 5,000 family growers in Trentino, located in the foothills of Northern Italy). The brand debuted in 1976 and was introduced nationally by 1977. Fast forward nearly 50 years, the company says its products "remains the #1 Italian Pinot Grigio in the US."
"This anniversary offer is both a celebration of our heritage and a thank you to the loyal fans who have made Cavit a household name for nearly five decades," Marc D. Taub, president and CEO of Palm Bay International (Cavit’s US importer since the brand’s introduction), added in a statement, noting that as "America's original Pinot Grigio, Cavit has played a pivotal role in shaping how consumers experience Italian white wine."

The company also produces several other varietals as part of its Cavit Collection (which we're told has plans to grow next year) such as Merlot, Moscato, Prosecco and Riesling, but this special rebate—which brings the price of a bottle down to $6.99—is only valid on its approachable, "crisp, refreshing" Pinot Grigio.

Sophia Bush Breaks Down Wild 'Grey's Anatomy' Love Triangle — and That Jaw-Dropping Finale Cliffhanger (Exclusive)
SPOILER ALERT! The following interview gets into details from "Bridge Over Troubled Water," the Season 22 finale of Grey's Anatomy.
Another love triangle has arrived on Grey's Anatomy, and Sophia Bush's Dr. Cass Beckman is involved again. Bush started recurring on the medical drama in Season 21 and inspired Teddy (Kim Ravers) to consider opening her marriage with Owen (Kevin McKidd). The two almost hooked up at a medical conference last season and then actually spent the night together after Teddy and Owen officially separated in Season 22.
Cass showed up at Grey Sloan in the latest season finale to help with incoming traumas when the bridge collapse prevented her from getting to work at Seattle Pres. It was fitting to see her at Grey Sloan for Teddy's last day, but Teddy wasn't the only one Cass spent quality time with during her visit.
Apparently, she and Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) hit it off during surgery and decided to hook up at Amelia's apartment. They were still getting undressed when Toni (Jen Landon) showed up to announce she was choosing Amelia over her ex-wife because she was falling in love. That was the last thing Amelia expected, and now she will have to spend the beginning of Season 23 trying to convince Toni that her hookup with Cass was not a reflection of her true feelings.
Parade caught up with Bush to talk about the surprising cliffhanger, being on set for Ravers' and McKidd's final episodes as series regulars, and what being part of another Grey's love triangle means for Cass going forward.
It’s surreal being part of a Grey’s Anatomy season finale in general, but what was it like on set to be there for Kim and Kevin’s final episodes as series regulars?
I mean, personally, I was unwell. It’s such a crazy experience. I toed this line of being both a friend to many of the people in this cast now, after all these years, and being a fan of what they do there, and a fan of these people’s performances. Kevin, for example, I’ve been so fortunate to have been directed by him on multiple occasions in multiple episodes. He is such an amazing captain of the ship.
I’m sitting there reading this next script thinking, “Oh, this is going to be so fun. What’s our conflict going to be? …Cass and Teddy have been at this for a while. They’ve taken this moment. If I’m coming back, I wonder what’s going to happen? Are Cass and Owen going to get into it again? Is there going to be a weird moment with everybody? How crazy are the writers going to go?” I had no clue that this is what was coming in all of the sort of insane cliffhangers I imagined.
It was a surreal experience to know that these incredibly talented coworkers and friends were going to be putting these characters to bed, or at least for a nap. I have no idea how long that is going to last…but then to watch Kevin directing this episode and just to be able to be there and go, “This is so crazy.” It’s a surreal mix of emotions. They’re both so talented and professional and kind and funny. After all the years, and their characters have gone through so much drama, I love that they are getting a happy ending for now.
We don’t get to see Teddy tell Cass that she’s going to Paris, but what do you think that conversation was like?
I got to the scene where [Teddy and Owen] are going to double down on each other, and they’re going to Paris. I was like, "Wait, no! When are we going to have the conversation?" Given where this episode ends, there’s clearly a lot that has happened off-camera. In my head, in the backstory I built, Teddy and Cass had a goodbye at the hospital. Teddy would have explained in some fashion the a-ha moment she’s had about her own marriage. I think Cass would have understood. She and David stay together for their own reasons. I think to be truly happy with someone, the security that Cass has at home really enables this boldness and this outsized freedom in the rest of her life. She’s the kind of person who is sad to lose her crush, but also really happy that these two people are going to give it another shot. I guess at some point in a post-op catch-up, she’s then chatting with Amelia and whoever else. I imagine everyone went to the bar to blow off some steam after such a crazy day, and then the ending I didn’t see coming.
What do you think is appealing to Cass about Amelia? Is it Amelia specifically, or is she sad that Teddy is leaving?
I wouldn’t do Amelia dirty like that. I think Amelia Shepherd is an icon. There’s also something really interesting about these women who are at the top of their game, who’ve been through the gauntlet of personal life and development, who share the fact that they’re parents and they manage to keep all the plates spinning. There’s a lot for them to connect on, pretty immediately. I think at the end of the day of this doctor I play, who is still married but in an open relationship, it’s like, “Oh, look at this little piece of joy that just fell into my lap.” And I’m happy for her.
This is the second relationship on the show where Cass has become a complication. Are you worried that’s becoming a bit of a pattern with Cass?
At the end of the day, it’s TV. If you don’t have drama or conflict, what do you have? I wouldn’t think it would be quite so complicated. At the end of the day, you have got to surprise people. You have to keep the viewers entertained. I guess we’ll see where it goes. We’re all in the dark at the end of the season, including all of the actors.
What’s interesting is that Cass is the sort of person who can be both a love interest and a source of advice. We saw it with Teddy, offering her own perspective and asking questions so that Teddy could think about how she feels about her own marriage. I think the surprise of having had this experience with Amelia, and then suddenly there’s this woman at the door — I don’t know who that is! I don’t know anything about her. Then it’s like, “Who are you and what aren’t you telling me? What position did you just put me in? My cards are on the table.” That’s also very interesting. I have no idea if we’ll see us have that conversation, but I do think there is potential for Cass in that moment to ask Amelia some questions that might make her come to terms with some things.
This all implies that you will be back for Season 23. What is your dream storyline for Cass on this show?
We’ve been figuring out excuses to get me in the hospital since I don’t currently work there. I was able to show up after a disaster and say I can’t get to where I am employed, maybe there are some doctors who can’t get here. Where can I fill in? I like that. She has that sort of tenacity and really inherent desire to serve, to help, to take care of people. I think I really enjoy getting to do surgery in general. I enjoy the technicality of all the medical work. I love any excuse I get to really interact with Chandra [Wilson], whether it was at the conference last season or being in the OR with her in the finale. That was lovely. I’m very game for more surgery, but I think we’d have to figure out why I keep showing up and not going to Seattle Pres. That’s for the writers to figure out.
What does it mean to you to get to play this woman who is so open about her sexuality and representing open marriage/nonconventional relationships?
I’m so relieved that everyone at Shondaland is so unflappable. They’re not scared of anything. They’re willing to have conversations and break taboos. They represent people who, when you start looking at the data, are everywhere but maybe are not often highlighted in story or on screen. That’s been an interesting part of it for me as an actor to do some research about the demographics that are changing, whether we’re talking about queerness or we’re talking about versions of open relationships. I look at what’s happening in the world and then think about the way that it might inform a person I play, especially when a character makes different choices than I personally make in my life. I know two or three couples that are open. I called all of them and was like, “Can I ask you questions? DOn’t be mad that some of them will be really specific. You don’t have to answer, but I just need to understand certain things about this dynamic that I have no experience with in my own life.
That’s one of the great gifts, I think, of being an actor in general. You get to learn about people, and they will share vulnerabilities with you. It’s been really cool to try to figure out through people that I know and people that I don’t, where this woman stands in her own life. It’s fun to break a taboo. It’s fun to get to do something as an actor that I don’t do in my own life. What would it be like to be that assured in those departments? What would it be like to move through the world with this sort of security? How does that inform a person’s energy? The way they speak to people? How does it affect how they move through spaces in a crowd? It’s fun to explore all of that through her.
Grey's Anatomy will continue with Season 23 on ABC this fall. Episodes are available to watch on Hulu.

What Pedro Pascal Said About 'Baby Yoda' That Made Him Cry in Front of a Crowd
For seven years, Pedro Pascal played a bounty hunter who never showed his face. When he finally had to speak about what that character meant to him, he couldn't keep a straight one.
At a fan celebration in Mexico City on April 26, Pascal took the stage for a Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu promotional panel alongside director Jon Favreau. Speaking about the journey from streaming series to feature film, Pascal described watching Star Wars in movie theaters as a child with his family, how those experiences shaped him, and how he always hoped that Din Djarin and Grogu would someday make it to the big screen. After shifting to Spanish to address the crowd directly, he paused, wiped away tears, and stood there for a moment while the audience erupted into cheers and began chanting his name. He then blew a kiss to the fans before composing himself.
'As soon as I saw this, I knew that it would be a new authorship of a streaming experience,' Pascal said of the original Disney+ series, per The Hollywood Reporter. 'But I always had a dream in my heart that it would be on a big screen because that's how I was developed as a child. I went to the movie theater so much with my family, and I saw the Star Wars movies on the big screen.'

The film, directed by Favreau and opening in theaters May 22, is the first theatrical Star Wars release since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. It follows Din Djarin and Grogu as they work with the fledgling New Republic to track Imperial war criminals, with Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White joining the cast. Favreau has described the movie as a coming-of-age story, one where Grogu, now a Mandalorian apprentice with growing abilities, steps into a much larger world. For Favreau, three years to make a two-hour film after producing annual eight-episode seasons was a different kind of creative challenge: bigger sets, larger action sequences, and for the first time in the franchise, extended scenes with Pascal's face fully on screen.
Pascal has spoken in several interviews about what it felt like to read the feature script for the first time. 'When they locked me in a room and let me read the script for The Mandalorian and Grogu, I felt that,' he told Fandango, describing the sensation of true cinematic adventure he remembered from childhood. 'And then being on set, what I saw was the kind of thing that made my mouth drop when I was a kid.'
The press tour continued through Europe, with Pascal, Weaver, and Favreau appearing at a fan celebration in Berlin on May 4 and a Paris premiere event on May 5. Pre-sale tracking currently projects a potential $100 million opening weekend in North America. Clips of Pascal's emotional moment in Mexico City circulated widely online, drawing responses from longtime fans who said it captured what the show has meant to them, a slow-burn story about an unlikely father and son that became the emotional heart of the Star Wars universe. That is the feeling Pascal has been carrying into every stop on the press tour, and, likely, the one audiences will be carrying into theaters on May 22.
Erin Murphy Shares New Details on the Sudden End of ‘Bewitched’—‘There Was No Goodbye’
Erin Murphy opened up about the end of Bewitched in a new interview. The former child actress who played Tabitha Stephens on the ABC fantasy sitcom from 1966 to 1972 appeared on Billy Corgan’sThe Magnificent Others podcast, where she shared new details about the sudden ending to the series more than 50 years ago.
In the May 2026 interview, Murphy, now 61, explained that the cast fully expected to return to the series for a ninth season, but that series star Elizabeth Montgomery made the decision to end the series amid her split from showrunner William Asher.
“So we went on hiatus, which is our break, and we had contracts to do two more years of the show,” Murphy told Corgan. “So, it wasn't like … we weren't canceled. I think people always ask why was Bewitched canceled, and it wasn't. We had a contract to do two, and I think it's like an addendum to do three [more seasons], that it was a guaranteed thing. And then we went on our break. … We all got telegrams and letters saying, 'We have decided not to do the show.' Bill Asher and Liz were going through a divorce and they just, she especially, decided just not to do the show anymore.”
Murphy noted that there was no official finale or closure for the cast, which also starred Dick Sargent, Agnes Moorehead, and David White.
“So there was no goodbye,” she shared. “So it wasn't like we said, you know how at the end of a school year you cry, you say goodbye. None of us had that. We had the ‘see you soon, we'll be back’ kind of thing.”

Murphy, who joined the cast of Bewitched at age two, explained that while the end of the show was hard in that she missed her castmates and the crew members, she was also excited to just be a kid again.
“We'd stay in touch with Christmas cards, and I was dear friends and still am with Elizabeth Montgomery and Bill Asher's kids,” Murphy added of her post-show relationship with her TV mom. ”So I stayed in touch with her through her children.”

Erin Murphy has no special memories of the final ‘Bewitched’ episodeThe final episode of Bewitched, titled “The Truth, Nothing But the Truth, So Help Me Sam,” aired on March 25, 1972, on ABC. It was a regular episode with no inklings of a series finale.
Murphy told Remind magazine that she had no special memories of the final episode because it “wasn’t supposed to be the final episode.”
“We went on hiatus like always, expecting to come back,” she said in 2025. “The final episode was just like any other week of the show. None of us knew it was the final episode while we were filming it. … There was no goodbye party except for the end-of-season wrap party. But that was like every other season,” the Bewitched child star added.
1966 Hauntingly Personal Brian Wilson Song From a Masterpiece Album Ranks Among His Best Ever
At the peak of Brian Wilson’s creative brilliance, one hauntingly personal 1966 song from the Beach Boys' landmark album captured the loneliness and vulnerability behind his genius.
"I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" hails from Pet Sounds. The Tony Asher and Wilson-penned song appears to describe Wilson's disillusionment with society and his tendency to withdraw from the world around him.
Rolling Stone named the tune as one of its 25 Best Brian Wilson Songs. It ranks among other classics such as "Caroline, No," "God Only Knows," "Wouldn't It Be Nice," and "Good Vibrations."
The track creates an eerie atmosphere, heightened by Wilson's unconventional arrangement. "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" also broke new ground by featuring one of the earliest uses of the Electro-Theremin in a mainstream pop recording.

Rolling Stone reprinted a quote from Wilson about the song's arrangement. It reads, "I wanted it to sound eerie, and that ended up with a situation where I introduced a new instrument to rock & roll."
None of the Beach Boys members played the instrument. Wilson hired Paul Tanner [a trombonist, a member of Glenn Miller's orchestra, and its inventor, with Bob Whitsell] to play the Electro-Theramin on the song, according to American Songwriter.

The track is No. 11 on Pet Sounds, the Beach Boys' groundbreaking LP that redefined pop music. Widely hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time, it showcased Wilson’s innovative production style, emotional depth, and orchestral approach to songwriting.

Wilson said of the LP to The Independent, "They say [The Beatles] Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pet Sounds were the two greatest albums ever made. I'm very proud to think that we could have made an album that good. It was easier back then because I was young and had energy. I wanted to make love music. I was in the mood for love music."
In an interview shared on the Beach Boys' official YouTube channel, Wilson added, "Music inspires me. I love music.
"I Just Wasn't Made for These Times" remains one of the most introspective tracks in Brian Wilson’s catalog. It not only highlights his sophisticated arranging skills, but also offers a revealing look into his inner world.
Brian Wilson died on June 11, 2025, at the age of 82.

2006 Novel Turned Into an HBO Series Tops the List of ‘100 Thrillers To Read in a Lifetime’
Sharp Objects is a psychological thriller that was released in 2006 by Gillian Flynn, the legendary author of Gone Girl. The novel was recently ranked toward the top of Goodread’s “100 Thrillers to Read in a Lifetime” list along with And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
Sharp Objects has a 4-star rating on the site with over a million reviews. The novel follows Camille Preaker, a reporter who is forced to return to her hometown on an assignment. She must cover the unsolved murder of two preteen girls.
In an interview with Public Libraries Online, Flynn admitted that the killer in the story changed over time. “In Sharp Objects, the murderer wasn’t even in the first draft of the book,” she said. “I had a completely different killer and didn’t like it. So I went back and realized I kind of liked this character I had been playing around with, and all of the sudden I had the murderer.”
She also explained how important characters are in her stories. “For me Sharp Objects was as much a mystery of ‘Who is Camille Preaker’ as ‘Who killed these girls?’” she said.
In 2018, Sharp Objects was turned into a miniseries for HBO. Flynn served as an executive producer and writer on the adaptation. It went on to be nominated for several Golden Globes and Primetime Emmys.

“HBO felt like the right place,” Flynn said in an interview with Collider. “I know HBO had actually tried to swoop in just a little too late to get Gone Girl after the fact and had instead signed me to an overall deal. They’d said, 'Well, what about doing Sharp Objects?' It was a 12-year overnight success, but it does feel really very cool.”
She also spoke about the lead in the series, Amy Adams. “I knew that she’d bring Camille’s vulnerability, absolutely, but she brought such pure grit to her,” Flynn said. “I guess Camille had that, but it was amazing to watch that come to life and to see it on display. Amy has such a capability to her. Camille has to feel vulnerable, but not too much, and she does have grit. Amy really has that, in spades, and she lent that to Camille, in a really new way. She’s got this spine to her that I think really comes across in the show, and I love that."
Flynn has also written Dark Places, which was adapted into a film starring Charlize Theron, and The Grownup, which won an Edgar Award.

Five Years Ago Today, Billionaire Elon Musk Hosted 'SNL' for the First and Only Time
Five years ago today, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk stepped onto the famous stage of Saturday Night Live for his first and only time as host.
On May 8, 2021, Musk hosted the Mother’s Day episode of the long-running comedy show during Season 46, with Miley Cyrus serving as the musical guest. The episode quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the year because it marked the first time the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX led the famous late-night program.
At the time, Musk was already known around the world for his work with Tesla, SpaceX, and other technology companies. But his hosting job on “SNL” added another unusual moment to his growing list of television appearances.

During the episode, Musk appeared in several comedy sketches and also delivered a monologue that drew major attention online.
In that opening speech, he said, “I’m actually making history tonight as the first person with Asperger’s to host SNL. Or at least the first to admit it.”
Musk was not a traditional actor, comedian or musician. Instead, he came to the show as one of the world’s most famous business leaders.
Before hosting Saturday Night Live, Musk had already made several cameo appearances in movies and television shows as himself. He appeared in films like Iron Man 2 and Men in Black: International.
He also showed up in television programs including The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, Young Sheldon, and Rick and Morty.
Still, hosting “SNL” was different because the entire episode centered around him. The episode featured several references to Musk’s companies and public image. Some sketches joked about space travel, cryptocurrency and his reputation as a tech billionaire.
Five years later, the May 2021 episode remains Musk’s only time hosting Saturday Night Live.
Even though he has continued to stay in the public spotlight through his businesses, political activity and social media presence, Musk has not returned to host the show again.
However, “SNL” has continued to reference him through impersonations by cast members and guest performers. Cast member Mikey Day portrayed Musk in episodes that aired in October 2021 and April 2022.
Former cast member Dana Carvey later impersonated Musk during a November 2024 episode. In 2025, former cast member Mike Myers also portrayed him in multiple episodes.
Since 2021, Musk’s public profile has continued to grow. He has remained connected to companies including Tesla, SpaceX, X, xAI, Neuralink, and the Boring Company. He has also stayed active in politics and public debates, making him one of the most widely discussed figures in business and entertainment.
Still, for many television viewers, May 8, 2021 stands out as the world’s richest man stepped away from rockets and electric cars to try live sketch comedy on one of television’s biggest stages.
After Planning 10 Disney Trips on My Own, Here are the 3 Big Reasons Using a Planner Finally Paid Off
Having a vacation planner sounds fancy, doesn’t it? You may be just as surprised as I was to learn that there are vacation planners out there that don’t actually charge you any money for helping your family book your vacation. This year, my large family of 10 decided to work with a Disney vacation planner. We were staying on-site in a Disney World property for the very first time, and we wanted to make sure that we got everything right.
The Disney planner didn’t charge us anything when it came to booking our hotel rooms, figuring out which days to go to which parks, scheduling dining reservations, and dealing with all of the small nitty-gritty details. This is because the planners get paid from Disney themselves–simply because it saves Disney from having to answer questions and walk people through booking their trips themselves. By using Disney planners, it’s a win for Disney World to have less volume of inquiries, and it offers a money-making opportunity for people who are pros at knowing all things Disney vacations.
We did pay our Disney planner an extra fee to have them book our lightning lanes for us, which is a way to skip the long lines at Disney World. That was the only extra fee we paid, and let me tell you–that was absolutely worth it. Let’s dive in to all of the reasons why my family found using a Disney planner to be complete no-brainer.

View this post on Instagram They Book Your Dining Reservations For YouOver the past decade or so, booking dining reservations at Disney World has become its own version of the Hunger Games. Reservations open up 60 days in advance at 6 a.m.. For many popular restaurants like Cinderella’s Royal Table or Space 220, those reservations can get snatched up in the blink of an eye.
Our Disney planner asked us to submit our top three restaurant choices for each day, and she was ready the day that the booking window opened to get them all booked for us. One thing that my family didn’t know was that if you are staying on Disney property, you can actually book reservations for your entire stay starting at 60 days before your very first day booked at one of the resorts. So, 60 days before the start of our vacation, our planner had booked every single reservation for us for the entirety of the week. And the best part? She snagged our top choices for every single day of the trip.

They Have Insider-Knowledge That Most People Don’t HaveSince Disney planners are constantly booking things day in and day out, they know a lot more than your average Disney fan. Our planner was able to help guide us and make decisions that ultimately made our Disney trip much more enjoyable.
We went on the Kilimanjaro Safari right in the morning of our day in Animal Kingdom, skipping the line because our Disney planner booked us a Lightning Lane.Melissa Cabey
For example, we really wanted to be able to book both the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for my five-year-old niece, and book a dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table on our day in Magic Kingdom. Both of these are difficult reservations to snag, but our planner had our back. We originally were planning to go to Magic Kingdom on the first Monday of our vacation, but since we had these big reservation goals, our planner suggested we move our Magic Kingdom visit to the Wednesday of that week. This is because she has found that Wednesdays tend to be less-crowded in Magic Kingdom–giving us a better chance at snagging both of those reservations.
We were so excited to finally snag a reservation to Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.Melissa Cabey
Not only did we get the reservations we were hoping for in Magic Kingdom that day, but we were also able to go on six rides all before noon. The park was the least crowded that I’ve ever seen in my entire life (with over 10 Disney World visits under my belt). Little things like this can make all of the difference in a Disney trip.
They Can Organize Your Full Itinerary For You Each DayFor families with young children or multiple people to keep track of, staying organized can feel incredibly stressful. One thing that I absolutely loved about having a Disney planner is that they sent perfectly curated daily schedules for each day of our trip. This was distributed to each member of our family, which helped to avoid the classic “wait, what are we doing on Tuesday?” or “what restaurant are we eating at in Epcot?” questions. Every member of our party was able to overlook the entire week, helping to manage everyone’s expectations.
A week before the trip, we were able to see our first three rides booked for each day in the park. As I mentioned before, we did pay our planner extra to book our Lightning Lanes for us, and I do think it was worth it. They knew exactly which rides would be useful to get a Lightning Lane for based on the history of the standby times. They also helped us with strategy. For example, the Philharmagic is one of our favorite things to do in the Magic Kingdom. However, it’s not really an attraction that has a long standby line during this time of year, so it wouldn’t be useful to get a Lightning Lane for it. Instead, we used our Lightning Lane on a more popular ride that tended to have longer standby lines.
My niece had the time of her life getting the princess treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.Melissa Cabey
All in all, a large amount of stress was removed from a lot of my family member’s shoulders. My father, who was leading the charge, was able to relax and enjoy the trip much more knowing that each day was already planned for us. My sister who has two young children was able to take in each moment with her kids so much more freely because everything else was taken care of.
We used Hannah from Disney With The Littles for our Disney vacation planning, and I couldn’t recommend her more. You can find her on social media at @Disneywiththelittles or her website, disneywiththelittles.com.

Stanley Tucci, 65, Discusses 21 Year Age Gap With His Wife: ‘We Had Nothing in Common’
Stanley Tucci, the 65-year-old actor known for The Lovely Bones and Julie & Julia, is married to 45-year-old Felicity Blunt. She is the sister of Emily Blunt, who was the one to introduce them during the Devil Wears Prada premiere in 2006. Tucci was married at the time, but he ran into Felicity again at Emily’s wedding to John Krasinski in 2010 and they started dating shortly after.
When Tucci recently appeared on the Open Book podcast with Jenna Bush Hager, he discussed his age gap relationship. “I wasn’t sure that I would ever remarry,” he said, referring to his wife Kathryn Spath. The pair married in 1995, and Spath died from cancer in 2009.
Tucci continued, “I never thought I would have children again. And when I met her, it just sort of made sense, even though there is this age gap of 21 years. And obviously, I knew her family, or I knew her sister was one of my best friends. And we just hit it off.”
Tucci then explained more about his relationship with Felicity, who is a British literary agent working with the Curtis Brown Group. “We had a lot in common, even though we had nothing in common,” he said. “And it just sort of stuck. But I think she changed my life in the sense that she gave me a sense of security. She gave my children a sense of security. And she’s fun. Like, she’s fun to hang out with.”

Tucci went on, “She’s incredibly positive, which I am not always. I mean, her mind is incredible. Her capacity to take in information, not just from a book, but from the world and process it, and turn it into something else is just extraordinary. She’s pretty cool.”
According to Page Six, Tucci revealed that he once tried to break up with her out of fear that he would always feel too old because of their difference in age. However, the pair ended up sticking together and married in 2012. They had a son in 2015 and a daughter in 2018. Tucci also has three children from his first marriage.

1961 Pulitzer Prize Winner Ranked Number One 'Best Banned or Censored' Book
"Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
In 1960 the literary world was rocked and forever changed when Monroeville, Alabama native Harper Lee published her first novel, the Southern Gothic To Kill a Mockingbird. The book was an instant success met with raving, critical acclaim and won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction a year after its publication. Lee's first novel—and only one published while the author was still alive—is a classic in American literature.
Despite meeting the aforementioned acclaim, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most challenged, banned, and censored books in modern history. The book's use of racial slurs, profanity, and blunt depictions and discussions of sexual assault have led people to challenge its appropriateness being placed in libraries and classrooms and around young readers. The frequency at which the book has challenged combined with its notoriety landed it in the number one spot for the Goodreads list of "Best Banned, Censored, and Challenged Books."

To date, To Kill a Mockingbird has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide since its publication 66 years ago. The novel has been translated into over 40 languages and continues to sell between 750,000 and 1 million copies on an annual basis. In addition to the Pulitzer, Lee was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2007, and PBS named the novel America's Favorite Book.
Good reading challenges you, and no one is too young to read something that can leave an impact on their worldview. Despite the pursuits to ban the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird has withstood the test of time and continues to leave an mark decade after decade, read after read.

As we age, it's not just our perspectives and experiences that change—our skin does as well. And while a lot of the cosmetic industry is focused on new trends and preventative skincare, it leaves some women wondering how to simply find an established, tried-and-true mature beauty regimen.
That's why Dawn Pfingsten, 58, creator of Just Doing My Best (with 84k Instagram followers), is part of "a growing movement toward simpler, more realistic beauty routines for women over 50."
Pfingsten, who's been creating content for 10 years on social media and YouTube, is passionate about helping aging women find the right products and practices for their current life stage and unique skincare needs.
"There are many content creators sharing wonderful makeup and skincare tips—I wanted something for women who are mature and want simple tips," she tells Parade. "Maybe they walked away from makeup for a time. Now they need their makeup and skincare to be easy and affordable. That’s what I try to offer."
From sharing "very simple liner looks with more muted shades," to suggestions for especially hydrating makeup bases, Pfingsten is helping her audience feel empowered instead of overwhelmed by the many choices in the beauty aisles. Here, she reveals the foundations she calls her "current favorites" for mature skin (after trying 20+ in the last year!), what to keep in mind when shopping for a new foundation and the top tips she swears by for over-50 skin.

What To Keep in Mind When Shopping for Foundations for Mature SkinAging skin may benefit from different makeup and skincare formulas than you've used in the past.
"I always recommend skipping anything that is full coverage or comes in a matte finish," Pfingsten explains. "Serum foundations or skin tints are more flattering options."
What makes them better options?
"Because we have textured skin and fine lines, skin tints or serum foundations generally contain peptides, hyaluronic acid or niacinimide," she says. "These ingredients plump and hydrate the skin, giving a prettier, skin-like finish."

4 Other Makeup Tips for Women Over 501. Apply foundation with a brush"When it comes to applying makeup over 50, I recommend applying foundation with a brush," Pfingsten tells Parade. "It gives a beautiful look—without separating or looking cakey."
2. Utilize a makeup primer"Adding a hydrating makeup primer helps as well," she explains. "Something like the Maybelline Poreless Jelly Primer can help soften fine lines, blur texture and really give makeup staying power."
3. Transition away from black eyeliner"When shopping for eyeliner, I recommend transitioning away from black," she tells Parade. "We are losing color in our skin and most of us have hooded eyes now. Black can be too dark and can actually make the eyes appear smaller. I recommend brown, bronze or pewter."

4. Use an under eye color corrector"I wish more women over 50 knew that they need to use a color corrector before their under eye concealer," she explains. "Our dark circles and redness are more prominent and the darkness/color needs to be corrected before adding a concealer. It makes a huge difference."
And it doesn't have to be a pricey addition to your beauty routine.
"Catrice Under Eye Brightener is a great option under $10," Pfingsten reveals.

1965 No. 1 Hit Ranked Among the ‘Greatest Duets of All Time’ Became a Pop Culture Phenomenon—But Superstar Singer Hated It at First
In 1965, Sonny & Cher soared to the top of the charts with “I Got You Babe.” The song, from the duo’s debut album Look at Us, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Aug. 14, 1965, and remained there for three weeks. Written by Bono, “I Got You Babe” became Sonny & Cher’s signature song and biggest hit —the next closest would be in 1967 when "The Beat Goes On” peaked at No. 6.
Ultimate Classic Rock ranked “I Got You Babe” one of the greatest duets of all time. Describing the ode to love as an admittedly "polarizing track," the outlet highlighted how it beat the odds at a time when the music landscape was changing. “Of course, ‘I Got You Babe’ became Sonny and Cher’s biggest hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming a pop culture phenomenon,” UCR shared.
Cher didn’t like ‘I Got You Babe’ at firstCher wasn’t a fan when her then-partner presented her with "I Got You Babe" in the middle of the night more than 60 years ago. During an appearance on The Late Show With James Corden, Cher admitted she never thought the song would be a hit.
“No,” she said. “I was sleeping. We bought a piano for about $82, and it had only a few broken keys. We had only furniture for the bedroom, and [Sonny] would write in the living room. He said, ‘Cher, I want you to come here and sing this.’ I went, ‘Oh Sonny, I’m embarrassed.’ He said, ‘Jesus, it’s just me.’ And it was ‘I Got you Babe.’ I said, ‘I’m going back to bed, this is just not anything.’ Sonny had such a bad voice, and it was on the piano, and it sounded like I don’t even know, like not a hit song.”
In an interview with Billboard, Cher admitted she didn’t always know how to spot a hit. “With ‘I Got You Babe,’ Sonny woke me up in the middle of the night to come in where the piano was, in the living room, and sing it. And I didn’t like it and just said, 'OK, I’ll sing it and then I’m going back to bed,'" she shared. “So I was never a very good barometer. I loved songs that weren’t as big of hits.”

The song sparked massive fame for Sonny & CherBefore “I Got You Babe,” music fans didn’t know what to make of Sonny & Cher.
“Sonny wore that bobcat, and I wore huge bell-bottoms,” Cher told Elle magazine in 2018. “We didn’t think, ‘Oh, we’re breaking some taboo’ or ‘We’re going forward’ or ‘We’re avant-garde’ or any of that. We just loved the way we looked. Kids liked it, but adults just hated us. I mean, really hated us. Fistfights hate.”
Once “I Got You Babe” was released, everything changed. “It sounds so dumb, but everything happened so fast,” Cher said. “I didn’t even know where I was. One day we were poor. Two days, three days later, we were famous.”
The success of "I Got You Babe” sparked a succession of hits for Sonny & Cher throughout the mid to late 1960s.
“We had solo songs, and we had [Sonny & Cher] songs,” Cher told Billboard. “What happened was there were songs we made before, so when ‘I Got You Babe’ became famous, they released the songs that we had done before ‘I Got You Babe.’ So everything was just released at one time.”
“It was everything that we were living for,” she added of the duo’s success. “It was what we were breathing for. It was our goal to do it. … We struggled. We had songs that didn’t do anything, and then all of a sudden we had all these songs on the [chart] at one time.”
Sonny and Cher’s musical act was popular enough to score the couple a TV variety show. In 1971, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour premiered on CBS. The series aired for four seasons and ended each episode with Sonny and Cher singing "I Got You Babe" to each other.
