When you’re spending long days on your feet, comfort matters just as much as style. Sneakers usually get the job done, but they can feel bulky or too sporty for certain settings. That’s where a loafer-style slip-on stands out — it offers the same support you need while keeping a clean, streamlined look that feels appropriate for a wider range of activities. This allows you to transition from a long walk or a flight directly into a business meeting, a nice dinner, or a gallery without feeling underdressed.
One option that balances comfort and style is the Clarks Women's Breeze Step II Loafers. Right now, they’re on sale for 40% off at Amazon, bringing the price down from $70 to just $42. It’s a solid deal for a pair you’ll likely wear often.
Clarks Women's Breeze Step II Loafers, $42 (was $70) at Amazon Shop at AmazonThese loafers come in sizes 5 through 12 and are available in narrow, medium, and wide widths. That range makes it easier to find a comfortable fit no matter your foot shape. You can choose between a neutral beige or classic black, both of which are easy to style.
They’re designed with comfort-focused features like the brand’s proprietary Contoured Comfort and Cushion Plus technology. The breathable textile upper keeps things light, while the soft EVA footbed and high-density foam provide support throughout the day. The flexible sole and low 25-millimeter heel help keep your stride natural and easy.
In terms of design, these are a true hybrid shoe. They combine the structure of a classic loafer with the feel of a lightweight sneaker. The result is something that looks put-together but still feels easy enough for all-day wear.

Styling them is simple because of their minimal design. They work well with linen trousers and a button-down for a relaxed, summer-ready look. You can also pair them with leggings and an oversized sweater for something more casual, or dress them up with a blazer and tailored pants.
The slip-on design makes them ideal for travel days, especially at the airport. They’re comfortable enough for long walks or sightseeing, yet polished enough for casual office settings or daily commutes.
This beloved style has over 200 five-star reviews. One shopper described them as “beautiful” and “well-constructed,” adding that they feel “like walking on clouds.” They added, “The extra padding in the heel and across the bridge make these slip-ons the only summer shoes for me. No socks? No problem!”
Another shared, “They're one of my new go-to shoes. They're very easy to slip on and the sole is comfy. My feet get sore easily, so finding supportive shoes is important to me.”

1972 Classic, Written While Recovering From Surgery, Became a No. 1 Hit for Four Weeks
In 1972, Johnny Nash released a song that would define his career and become one of the most recognizable hits in pop music history.
“I Can See Clearly Now” climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for four straight weeks, marking a peak moment for the singer-songwriter who had already lived several musical lives before his biggest success arrived.
The track was released as the lead single from his twelfth album of the same name. After a steady climb on the charts, it surged from No. 20 to No. 5 and then to No. 1, where it remained for a full month. It also topped the Adult Contemporary chart for the same four-week stretch and became a gold-certified record after selling more than one million copies.

According to Billboard, “I Can See Clearly Now” was reportedly written during a period when Nash was recovering from cataract surgery, a detail often linked to the song’s message of renewed vision and emotional clarity. While some reports differ slightly on the exact medical details, the core idea remains consistent: the song came from a personal moment of challenge and healing.
The lyrics reflect that shift from struggle to hope, describing a brighter outlook after hardship. Nash’s delivery, combined with a reggae-influenced arrangement, helped turn that feeling into something universal.
The recording was made in London with members of The Fabulous Five Inc., blending pop structure with early reggae rhythms that Nash had helped introduce to American audiences.
The song’s impact extended far beyond the United States. It reached No. 1 in countries including Canada and South Africa, while also charting strongly in the United Kingdom and other international markets. Its success marked one of the early moments when reggae-influenced pop crossed into mainstream global radio.
In the U.S., it became Nash’s biggest hit, standing apart from earlier songs like “Hold Me Tight” and “You Got Soul.” It also helped define his reputation as one of the first American artists to bring reggae sounds into popular music at scale.
The song’s chart dominance was also consistent across formats. It led both the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts for four weeks, showing strong crossover appeal among different audiences.
“I Can See Clearly Now” did not fade after its initial success. It became one of the most covered songs of its era, with interpretations by artists such as Ray Charles and Donny Osmond.
One of the most well-known versions came from Jimmy Cliff, whose 1993 cover was featured in the film Cool Runnings and brought the song back to the Billboard Hot 100 nearly two decades later.
Cliff’s version reached No. 18 on the Hot 100 and introduced the track to a new generation of listeners. Johnny Nash’s original version, however, remains the defining recording. Its blend of pop melody, reggae rhythm and uplifting lyrics helped it stand apart in the early 1970s music landscape.

'90s Top-Ranked Game Heads to Nintendo Switch 2 — But Fans Offer Mixed Response
The summer box office is looking pretty enticing. Until then, this year's highest grossing movie goes to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Expanding on the first one from 2023, the sequel introduced a number of equally nostalgic video-game characters, such as Star Fox (voiced by Glen Powell).
For anyone doubtful of his Super Mario connection, Fox was part of the Super Smash Bros. crew as one of the playable characters. But Fox also had his own Nintendo 64 game, which launched two years earlier in 1997 — and is now getting remade for Nintendo Switch 2.
That's right, fans. the Star Fox 64 legacy is not to be forgotten. What looks to be a new-and-improved version of the iconic 1990s game will hit the shelves June 25, IGN reports. The website also posted first-look images to its Instagram on Wednesday, May 6 — check them out below.
View this post on InstagramWhile the idea of an updated Star Fox game may sound enticing, fans haven't held back in the comments section of IGN's post with their thoughts on the newly designed looks for each beloved character. "Idk. The hyper realistic look isn’t for me. Still excited though," wrote one Instagram user, while another person commented, "They should've maybe used the graphic style from the new Mario movie, not a big fan of hyper realistic 😭."
Not everyone was against the new look of Star Fox. Someone else commented, "I don’t get all the hate. I love that Nintendo is embracing a new art style. This is easily the highest fidelity they’ve ever attempted. Fox looks a little off, but that feels more like a redesign issue than an art style issue. The cutscenes look insane, and the voice acting is actually good for once."
Looking back at the nostalgic console's vast collection of games, Star Fox 64 has often been viewed as one of Nintendo 64's best video games ever. As discussed in a Reddit chat a couple years ago, it launched N64's popular "rumble pack," which could attach onto the back of your controller to further immerse gamers into the on-screen experience.
1937 'Instant Success' Fantasy Novel Ranked a 'Best Book of the 20th Century'
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."
One simple sentence written on a blank page by Professor J. R. R. Tolkien that would become a critically acclaimed fantasy novel which would go on to become one of the most beloved novels of all time. On Goodreads and elsewhere, the book starring Bilbo Baggins as the titular hobbit is indisputably one of the "Best Books of the 20th Century."
By the early 1930s, Tolkien had finished his manuscript and sent it to several friends, including fellow writer C.S. Lewis. In 1936 Susan Dagnall, a staff member of the publisher George Allen & Unwin, was given or loaned a copy by a former student of Tolkein's from the University of Oxford and she urged publisher Stanley Unwin to consider it for publication. When Unwin's 10-year-old son, Rayner, loved the story, it convinced him to publish the novel.
Set in Middle-earth, The Hobbit centers on Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who lives a comfortable and peaceful life in his hobbit-hole at Bag End. Bilbo's life is somewhat upended when Gandalf the wizard and a group of dwarves enlist his services to go on a quest to reclaim their home on Lonely Mountain (and its massive treasure) from the dragon Smaug. After some coaxing, Bilbo joins the quest, encountering several things along the way including trolls, elves, giant spiders, goblins, and a magical ring that lets him turn invisible. Throughout his journey, Bilbo finds the courage and resourcefulness he didn't know he possessed. After several battles and instances of unexpected bravery, Bilbo returns to his home in the Shire with a much more vast outlook on his once little, somewhat unassuming world.
The first run of The Hobbit in September of 1937 was for 1500 copies, but it sold out by December due to the enthusiasm and buzz surrounding the book. Additionally, it was met with almost unanimous acclaim. C.S. Lewis wrote of the book for The Times:
"The truth is that in this book a number of good things, never before united, have come together: a fund of humour, an understanding of children, and a happy fusion of the scholar's with the poet's grasp of mythology... The professor has the air of inventing nothing. He has studied trolls and dragons at first hand and describes them with that fidelity that is worth oceans of glib "originality."
The book was nominated for a Carnegie Medal, and was awarded by the New York Herald Tribune for best juvenile fiction of 1938. Now almost 90-year's post-publication, The Hobbit has sold an estimated 100 million copies world wide, making it one of the best-selling books of all time. It has been adapted numerous times, most recently in 2014 with the live-action film version directed by Peter Jackson.
Readers still love The Hobbit and regularly praise the impact it has had on them and largely agree in terms of books, there are few better or quite like it.

1965 Hit Musical Film, Saved from Cancellation, Ranked Among the 'Greatest Movies of All Time'
The 1965 musical film The Sound of Musichas earned the #15 spot on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Movies of All Time, securing its place as one of cinema’s most enduring classics.
Directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and Eleanor Parker, the film remains a defining entry in Hollywood musical history.
Based on the real-life story of the von Trapp Family Singers, the film follows Maria, a young postulant who becomes governess to seven children in the household of a widowed Austrian naval captain. Set in pre-World War II Austria, the story blends music, family life and political tension during the period leading up to the Anschluss.
Before production fully moved forward, The Sound of Music faced serious financial uncertainty inside 20th Century-Fox.

After the studio suffered massive losses from the expensive 1963 historical epic Cleopatra, executives became cautious about greenlighting another large-scale production. The financial strain temporarily weakened the studio’s willingness to commit to high-budget projects.
Only after leadership changes and renewed planning did development on The Sound of Music move forward again.
Upon its release on March 2, 1965, The Sound of Music was adapted from the Broadway musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The film expanded the stage version using Salzburg’s real landscapes, blending storytelling with sweeping cinematography.
A Variety review praised the film as “one of the top musicals to reach the screen,” highlighting its direction, performances, and use of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s songs. It also noted the film’s strong commercial potential and long theatrical run.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an 83% critic rating and a 91% audience score, with reviewers calling it a “tuneful, heartwarming story” centered on music, family and emotional transformation.
Julie Andrews stars as Maria, delivering a performance widely regarded as one of her most iconic roles. Christopher Plummer plays Captain von Trapp, a strict naval officer whose household changes after Maria introduces music and warmth into the home.
Peggy Wood appears as the Mother Abbess, while Eleanor Parker plays Baroness Elsa Schraeder. Richard Haydn portrays Max Detweiler and Charmian Carr plays Liesl, the eldest von Trapp child.
The film features unforgettable musical numbers including “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and “Climb Every Mountain.” These sequences were filmed across Salzburg and studio sets, combining real locations with carefully designed production work.
Despite early uncertainty, The Sound of Music became a global box office phenomenon. It broke international records, became one of the highest-grossing films of its era, and maintained strong theatrical runs for years.
The film’s inclusion in the ranking reinforces its long-standing cultural importance, not only remembered for its music and performances but also for its transformation from a studio risk into a global cinematic milestone.

1977 Soft Rock Classic Ranked Among ‘Best Guitar Solos of All Time’ Became a No. 1 Hit
49 years ago today, on May 7, 1977, the Eagles soared to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their haunting rock classic "Hotel California." The song, which served as their fourth hit following “One of These Nights,” “Best of My Love,” and “New Kid in Town,” stayed in the top position for one week before being dethroned by Leo Sayer’s “When I Need You.”
Written by Eagles members Don Felder, Don Henley, and Glenn Frey, and produced by Bill Szymczyk, "Hotel California" belongs on the band’s fifth studio album of the same name. Lyrically, the tune sounds like a song about a man staying at a hotel, but the image of the hotel actually serves as a metaphor for the state of California.
The LyricsAt first glance, the place appears to be paradise with descriptive words such as a “shimmering light” and “pink champagne on ice,” but the inviting and warm welcome of luxury soon fades into a dark atmosphere as the singer begins to feel a feeling of entrapment, as visitors are told they can “check out,” but can “never leave.”
Henley opened up about co-writing the song in the ‘70s, saying he had a cassette tape with the guitar melody on it from Felder, and used it to come up with his portion of the lyrics.
“I would drive around with it in the car,” he told Howard Stern in an interview on The Howard Stern Show about the initial guitar-driven melody. “I would get words and melody in my head ... .We wanted some pot references, and ‘colitas’ means little buds.”
Of the songwriting process, he added, “Usually, I get the melody first, and then the words come on top of that. You have to fit the two together. That’s the trick.”
Henley went on to say that he came up with the “Hotel California” lyric while Frey was great at filling in the blanks, where I’d get stumped."
"I’d sing, ‘Welcome to the Hotel California,’ and he would say, ‘Such a lovely place. Such a lovely face,'" he added. "We made a great team.”
The Guitar SectionOne of the most standout sections of the near 7-minute song is the attention-grabbing, lengthy electric guitar solo toward the end, which finds Felder and Joe Walsh taking turns playing lead before joining in instrumental harmony.
That iconic back-and-forth guitar solo has landed the song on several “best of” lists. In 1998, the track was voted in at No. 1 for Best Solo of All Time by readers of Guitarist Magazine. It was also ranked more recently at No. 3 on Rolling Stone’s brand new 2026 list of “100 Best Guitar Solos.” The song, itself, in 2004 was named amongRolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”
Further success of “Hotel California” includes a Grammy Award for Record of the Year, which the Eagles won at the 20th Grammy Awards, and a later induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

’90s Hollywood Icon Once Called 'Last Movie Star' Turns 65
George Clooney is long celebrated for being one of Hollywood's most enduring leading men, but this time it is for a major personal milestone.
For decades, the A-lister has built a legacy defined by his undeniable charisma, impressive talent , and timeless appeal.
Moreover, his string of smash-hit films and award-winning projects cemented his status as one of the industry’s most bankable stars, earning him the title of the “Last Movie Star.”
Today, as Clooney officially turns 65, here’s a look back at some of his best movies.
George Clooney’s Top Three Best Movies of All TimeBorn on May 6, 1961, the Kentucky native made his debut in the late ‘70s by taking on an uncredited role in Centennial.
From then on, he was unstoppable, progressing from acting as an extra in a miniseries to guest roles before eventually landing major lead parts and achieving his well-deserved breakthrough as Dr. Doug Ross on the hit NBC medical drama ER that dominated the small screen in the 90s.

With a career spanning nearly five decades, Clooney not only made a mark in film and television but also produced a ton of timeless hits that still resonate with generations.
Among these are his top three best movies of all time, ranked by Rotten Tomatoes, a popular film and television review aggregation website.
Gravity
In first place is the sci-fi thriller Gravity, helmed by Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón.
Joined by Sandra Bullock as medical engineer Dr. Ryan Stone, Clooney portrayed veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski, whose mission is to survive in deep space after getting stranded.
Gravity received a solid 96% on the Tomatometer, indicating that the vast majority of critics gave it positive reviews.
One reviewer also noted that the chemistry between the A-list cast and the visionary direction of an “intriguing director” helped elevate the movie’s impact and intensity.
Three Kings
Released in 1999, the David Russell-directed film landed as Clooney’s second-best movie.
With a 94% Tomatometer score, Three Kings, the satirical war-comedy-adventure film was described by some critics as a remarkable movie that managed to “change themes and tones” seamlessly, without jarring or irritating the audience.
Although the 65-year-old star failed to secure major nominations or win from the "big four," Clooney, with cast members Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube, took home the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards in 2000.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Last on the list is Fantastic Mr. Fox, which ranks among George Clooney’s top three best films.
With a 93% score on the Tomatometer, the 2009 stop-motion animated comedy film directed by Wes Anderson, the award-winning star once shared what made the film memorable and “exciting to do.”
According to him, it “was done in such an unorthodox way” because instead of a studio, they recorded it out on a farm.
"We weren't in a studio doing voiceovers, we were on a farm pretending to be the character,” Clooney told Screenrant, adding, “It was such a granular way to make a film,” and called it a beautiful experience.

“The Princess is very much looking forward to visiting Italy next week and seeing first-hand how the Reggio Emilia approach creates environments where nature and loving human relationships come together to support children’s development,” her spokesperson said in a statement to People about Kate learning more about the internationally recognized method.
Kate welcomed her and Prince William’s first child, Prince George, in July 2023, their second child, Princess Charlotte, in May 2015, and their third child, Prince Louis, in April 2018. She has been quite candid about the ups and downs of pregnancy and postpartum.

This Sleek Digital Gourmet Waffle Maker Is About to Elevate Your Next Brunch
Real talk time: I love to cook and bake but for whatever reason, when it came to waffles, I always phoned it in. My kids were introduced to the almighty frozen Eggo at an early age and that's really all they knew of waffles. Pancakes? I've happily always made those from scratch. But the idea of purchasing a waffle iron just felt like a bridge too far. My kitchen cabinets are already packed with small appliances and gadgetry, and, frankly, Eggo waffles are delicious.
Then, one of my kids decided to order a Belgian waffle when we were having breakfast out. From then on, he was hooked. No more Eggos for that guy. He wanted the tall, fluffy goodness of Belgian waffle, and wouldn't accept anything less. Cut to me saying, "Alright, buddy, order them whenever we're at a restaurant."

Seriously, I was not about to break my "no waffle maker" at-home kitchen policy, not even for my Belgian waffle-loving kid. But then, I laid eyes on the All-Clad 4-Square Digital Gourmet Waffle Maker with Removable Plates. Listen, I love a small appliance. Love it. So it was really only a matter of time before I broke down. But when I tell you this little beauty has earned its place in our kitchen, I mean it.
You know how sometimes you'll see advancements in technology or a new-and-improved gadget and think, "Nah, I'll wait for the next version"? This is not one of those times. There are digital presets on this machine that make it so intuitive it feels foolproof. The very first time I made Belgian waffles with it they came out like I had been making them for years. I'm not kidding—beloved breakfast spot-quality.

All-Clad does sell a manual version of this waffle maker that's cheaper, but I am really loving the digital settings available on the more expensive offering.
Of course with anything digital, there's going to be the risk of technological mishaps, as evidenced by some frustrated reviews on Williams Sonoma's website. However I will say this bad boy has been working effortlessly for me, and at this point I've made a lot of waffles with it. So I feel really comfortable recommending it to elevate your next breakfast, but it's also a good idea to reach out to customer service if you find yourself struggling with your machine.

The Palace Omitted 1 Key Detail From Princess Eugenie's Birth Announcement for Baby No. 3
Princess Eugenie is expecting her third baby with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and the Palace quietly left one traditional detail out of the birth announcement.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer,” Buckingham Palace wrote via social media to announce her pregnancy news on May 4. “August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.”
The statement concluded, “His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

The announcement mentioned Eugenie’s sons and her uncle, King Charles III, but it made no mention of either of their families. Traditionally, royal pregnancy announcements usually make note of the extended family’s reaction, but this time, it kept the focus on Eugenie’s pregnancy news by omitting any mention of Eugenie or Jack’s parents.
RELATED: Royal Baby Moments Everyone Is Still Obsessed Over
In both of Eugenie’s past pregnancy announcements in 2020 and 2023, it was specifically written that her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, were “delighted.” Even more recently, in October 2024, the palace noted that "both families [were] delighted with the news" of Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy with her and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s second daughter, Athena.
Eugenie’s parents have been lying low after years of scandal centered around their involvement with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Fergie had been in hiding for seven months at a luxury Austrian ski resort after being stripped of her Duchess of York title in October 2025. As for the former Prince Andrew, he was arrested in February as part of an investigation into claims that he shared confidential information with Epstein while serving in public office as a trade envoy. The former Duke of York denied any wrongdoing.

As information about Andrew’s ties to Epstein began coming to light, Queen Elizabeth II stripped her second son of his military titles and patronages in January 2022. At the time, Andrew attempted to get Virginia Roberts Giuffre's sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed, which a judge denied. He settled with Giuffre out of court in February 2022 for an undisclosed amount with the stipulation of dismissal filed in March 2022. (Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025.)

Although he was no longer a working royal, Andrew continued to attend royal events, including his brother King Charles' coronation and royal family holidays. In October 2025, Charles stripped Andrew of his Prince and Duke titles as his past ties to Epstein came under renewed scrutiny.
Although their parents’ titles were removed, Beatrice and Eugenie’s HRH status has remained untouched. The sisters are not working members of the royal family, as they make their own money and do not represent the palace on outings.
Andrew, Beatrice, and Eugenie all remain in the line of succession to the throne, but British government officials have called for the former prince to be removed. Eugenie’s third child is expected to be 15th in line of succession behind big brothers August and Ernest.
Priscilla Presley Opens Up About 'DWTS' Experience: 'Could Not Wait to Get Kicked Off'
Priscilla Presley is sharing some insight into her less-than-ideal Dancing With The Stars experience.
Presley, 80, competed on season 6 of the ABC reality competition series in spring 2008. She was partnered with professional dancer Louis Van Amstel, and the couple placed 8th.
“I could not wait to get kicked off that show,” Presley said during a Saturday, May 2, speaking engagement in Las Vegas. “I was so nervous because … my partner, who I liked very much, was in a new relationship with another guy.”
“He was in a new relationship, and he wanted to get back home early,” she continued. “He had a date, and he wanted to get this and that, and I was a little bit frustrated because he put that before us. I felt we could have done a lot better.”

According to Presley, she and van Amstel would only rehearse for three hours a day while other contestants would practice for six. Regardless, Presley said she gave 100% on the dance floor.
“I like challenges,” she said. “I didn’t know how to dance that well. I mean, I did like dancing, but I thought, ‘You know what, I’m gonna go in for it and do it, and I think it’ll be fun.’ Yeah, still nerve-wracking.”
Van Amstel has not publicly addressed Presley's comments. He competed in seasons 1-3, 6, 9-12, 15, 21, and 31 of DWTS before retiring from the ballroom without a Mirrorball Trophy.
In November, he expressed a desire to return for the show's 35th season this fall.
“There was a side of me that said, ‘Hey, I might be OG but I ain’t done,'” Van Amstel said via Instagram after participating in the show's 20th anniversary episode. “I want back in, I ain’t done. So if I would ever be asked back to be on the show, season 35, I’d say yes in a heartbeat.”
Nancy Guthrie Update: Experts Offer Detailed Profile of Suspect in Savannah's Mom's Case
As Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing, three experts offered their detailed profiles of the suspect.
On Wednesday, May 6, The CW aired a special titled NewsNation Presents: The Nancy Guthrie Mystery. Brian Entin, NewsNation's senior national correspondent, spoke with three experts: clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Gary Brucato; criminologist, behavior analyst, and attorney Dr. Casey Jordan; and criminal profiler Dr. Ann Burgess, the inspiration for the Mindhunter series.
“I’m going to tell you, this guy, I’m just going to say, based on what I know about this kind of prowler burglar who, as Gary points out, probably has some kind of minor league record, but it represents a fraction of all this stuff that he’s actually done," Jordan told Entin.
Additionally, the criminologist predicted that the perpetrator in Nancy's case is roughly 27 or 28, and "definitely lives locally," but "probably not there anymore."
Jordan continued, "I think he was either eliminated by a puppet master or he fled. And I’m not saying he’s Mexican, but it’s the closest border. And that’s where he would go. This is a guy who, on the day this came out, quit his job, left town, broke up with his girlfriend, changed his behavior completely.”

Meanwhile, Burgess shared, “Yeah, the only thing I’d add there is to look for anyone that wasn’t working, that was just doing odd jobs kind of thing.”
Brucato described the suspect as "somebody with some sort of cruel, sadistic, scheming kind of personality." He explained, "You do not develop that kind of personality overnight. You tend to have a long history of being that way. "
The forensic psychologist further explained, "Whereas if it’s true that they tend to be very cool under pressure like this, what makes them very not cool is when there are slights to their ego. I think they need to go around talking to people and say, look, I’m already kind of hotheaded, nasty, grudge-holding, kind of egotistical guy who might have had some run-ins with the law."

Finally, Brucato added, "I also think if I had to make an educated guess somewhere in this story, this individual is also dabbling with illicit drugs. It is entirely possible that drugs are on the table.”
Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31. The Pima County Sheriff's Department launched its search for the 84-year-old on Feb. 1, after her family reported her missing. More than three months later, no suspect has been named in the case, and Savannah has offered a $1 million reward.

One of the 1980s' ‘Best Fantasy’ Shows is Officially Getting a Modern Reboot
The series Highway To Heaven is coming back to television!
The 1984 fantasy drama show ran for five seasons from 1984 to 1989. The series starred the show’s creator, MichaelLandon, as JonathanSmith. He played an angel sent back to Earth while on probation, forced to help people in need. VictorFrench co-starred as Mark Gordon, a former police officer who helped Smith perform good deeds.
The series was an immediate hit and has remained a landmark television show. In 2024, it was ranked one of the “Best Fantasy Shows of the 1980s” by Collider.
Now, the beloved show is making its way to the 21st century. According to Deadline, Fox has ordered a reboot for the series.
Jason Katims will spearhead the new version of Highway To Heaven as the showrunner and executive producer. The Emmy-winning writer previously worked on shows such asFriday Night Lights and Parenthood.
“I’m excited by the challenge of putting a contemporary lens on this classic tale,” Katims said. “The idea of telling a very grounded, human story about an angel feels immediately emotional to me — and fun. I love going outside my comfort zone to tell a tale about someone trying to do better as an angel than he did as a man.”
The remake plans to keep the same themes of kindness, second chances, and empathy, with a twist on the original premise.
“Highway to Heaven has always been about connection, compassion, and the idea that small acts can have big ripple effects and make a lasting difference,” said executive producer and Landon’s widow, CindyLandon. “I’m proud to help carry Michael’s legacy forward with partners like Fox and Amblin, who understand the heart of this series and are bringing it to a new generation at just the right moment,” she said.
Highway To Heaven is set to premiere during the 2027-28 season.

What was the challenge this episode of America’s Culinary Cup, and who won it it? Matt PetersPhoto: Jackie Brown/CBS
The four remaining chefs were tested on the five taste profiles: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami.
“Mastering the five basic tastes is essential to creating food that’s balanced, satisfying and memorable,” Wylie said.
The challenge was to create two dishes: one hot and one cold in 75 minutes. Both dishes had to demonstrate one of the flavor profiles, the dishes still had to be balanced.
Because Chris won last week’s challenge, he received an extra 30 minutes to cook, but in order to get the 30 minutes, he had to take them from his competitors. He had the choice of taking all 30 minutes from one chef, or 15 minutes from two chefs. He chose to take 15 minutes each from Matt and Buddha, saying his mother would slap him if he took away time from Cara, who was in her second trimester.
The flavor profiles were determined at random by the board:
Chris: Sweet
Cara: Sour
Matt: Salty
Buddha: Bitter
The top two scorers were through to the finale. The bottom two had to undergo an elimination challenge.
Matt 105
Cara 98
Chris 88
Buddha 77

Chris and Buddha went into the elimination challenge which was to feature two taste profiles in one dish. They both had to feature umami and the second was their choice.
When the votes were counted, it was Chris moving into the finale and Buddha who cooked his last time in the competition.
“Of course, I’m bummed out,” Buddha said. “Of course, I want to make it to the finale. I love competition but I daresay this may be my last. You win some, you lose some. You can’t always win everything.”
America’s Culinary Cup airs Wednesday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Streams next day on Paramount+.
