Thu, 05/07/2026 - 7:00am

Like it or not, MTV's Jersey Shorewas a cultural moment. (And based on ratings still today, most people liked it than are willing to admit.)

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchioJenni "JWoww" Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Angelina Pivarnick, Deena Nicole Cortese and the most toxic reality TV couple of all time, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Samantha "Sammi Sweetheart" Giancola, became household names synonymous with being tan, tipsy T-shirt sellers.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi quickly became one of Jersey Shore's breakout stars thanks to her hard-partying antics and self-aware sense of humor. She went on to be one of the most popular Halloween costumes for 2010 (her signature poof and faux tan were iconic) and her storylines on the show were often quite dramatic.

We saw her looking for love, drinking on the job and getting into trouble, including getting punched at a bar and arrested twice—as well as her pregnancy with her first child, after which she clearly had to clean up her act.

Snooki proved she is one smart businesswoman, successfully capitalizing on her reality fame in numerous ventures, including a spinoff (Snooki & JWoww), a stint on Dancing with the Stars, a podcast, retail stores, a wine brand, several books and countless sponsorships. In 2023, she narrated the second season of the reality competition series All Star Shore.

She's married to Jionni LaValle, a relationship the world saw begin on Jersey Shore, and is a mother of three.

In February 2026, Snooki confirmed a stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis that she plans to treat with a hysterectomy.

Vinny Guadagnino had the wiggliest eyebrows on the East Coast. The Staten Island native intended to go to law school before landing on Jersey Shore, where he was most famous for having on-and-off-again hookups with Snooki, as well as for being a huge mama's boy and clogging the house toilet with his size small tank top.

Vinny Guadagnino pursued acting following Jersey Shore and continued working in TV and entertainment. He hosted The Show with Vinny, starred in Vinny & Ma Eat America on the Cooking Channel, starred in the SyFy original movie Jersey Shore Shark Attack and competed on The Masked Dancer as Hammerhead and Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. He also competed in Season 2 of All Star Shore.

Vinny is an advocate of the keto diet and wrote The Keto Guido cookbook. After suffering from severe anxiety during his time on the original Jersey Shore run, he became an anti-bullying advocate and co-authored Control the Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama, and Maintain Inner Cool.

Deena Nicole Cortese was Snooki's cheery fellow meatball from Season 3 on. Deena actually auditioned for Season 1 but got rejected, and Snooki suggested she replace Angelina after Angelina packed up her trash bags for the final time.

Deena quickly became a fan favorite for her positive attitude and raucous antics with Snooki. The pint-sized duo are affectionately called "Meatballs."

These days, Deena is married to Chris Buckner, with whom she shares sons Christopher John "CJ" Buckner and Cameron Theo Buckner.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro

View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro dated Sammi Sweetheart for seven years off and on and cheated on her left and right (and threw her property around when he was mad at her). Somehow, The Situation was often blamed for the couple's problems.

(Incidentally, Ronnie got into several physical altercations during his tenure on Jersey Shore, including one with Sitch.)

Ronnie and Sammi split for good in 2016.

In 2018, he and then-girlfriend Jenn Harley welcomed a daughter, Ariana Sky Magro. For the next 18 months, he and Harley would each be arrested for domestic violence, and Ronnie went to rehab for depression and alcohol abuse.

Ronnie began dating Saffire Matos in 2020, and was arrested the following year for felony domestic violence—while he was still on probation for a prior domestic violence charge from his relationship with Harley. That June, he and Saffire got engaged, but they called it quits a year later before marrying.

A source close to Ronnie told People, "He's in good spirits and dealing with it one day at a time. He continues to focus on his health, sobriety and the well-being of his daughter."

In 2023, Ronnie revealed on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation that he had full custody of Ariana and was moving to Miami, Fla., to open a sneaker store.

As recently as April 2026, there have still been reports of substance abuse and domestic violence.

Samantha 'Sammi Sweetheart' Giancola

Samantha "Sammi Sweetheart" Giancola began her time on Jersey Shore getting cozy with Sitch, but quickly dropped him in favor of a toxic on-again-off-again relationship with Ronnie that drove everyone else in the house bananas.

Sammi leveraged her Jersey Shore fame to launch a fragrance and a clothing line called Sweetheart Styles. From 2015 to 2017, she co-hosted a podcast called Just Sayin with Siggy Flicker and Clare Galterio. Sammi declined to join the earlier seasons of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, but ended up making her return for the show's sixth season and beyond.

Sammi is married to Justin May. During a 2024 episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Sammi revealed that she and May experienced a miscarriage before their engagement. The couple welcomed their first child in August 2025.

Paul 'DJ Pauly D' DelVecchio

View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article

DJ Pauly D brought the least drama and the most laughs to Jersey Shore. He got along with pretty much everyone (save Angelina) and had the most catchphrases (e.g., "Cabs are he-yah!")

DJ Pauly D was the first Jersey Shore cast member to get a spinoff, The Pauly D Project. He's an in-demand DJ and performer and even opened for Britney Spearson her Femme Fatale tour.

Pauly met Aubrey O'Day when they were each starring in the reality show Famously Single in 2016, and they went on to appear on Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars together. Their romance didn't last, and they split in 2018.

He's since starred on two reality dating shows, Game of Clones (in which he searched for a Megan Fox look-alike to love) and Double Shot at Love, where he met his current girlfriend, Nikki Hall.

Angelina Pivarnick

View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article

Angelina Pivarnick dubbed herself the "Kim Kardashianof Staten Island," which is hilarious when you consider that the actual Kim Kardashian spent time there when she dated Pete Davidson.

In any case, Angelina's nickname should be "The Angel of the Jersey Shore," because she brought endless drama to the show in her brief tenure before getting fired from the T-shirt shop in Season 1 and fighting with Snooki and Snitch in Italy in Season 2. (Seriously, it takes a divine level of talent to get Pauly mad at you. Angelina, you're perfect.)

In 2011, she appeared on the dating show Excused. She became a Jersey Shore: Family Vacation cast member in 2019 after guesting on the show the previous year.

Angelina is a licensed EMT in Staten Island and sued an FDNY lieutenant for alleged sexual harassment and misconduct. They settled out of court in 2020.

Angelina got engaged to Chris Larangeira in 2018 after dating for a year. They married in 2019, and she got quite mad at her castmates for the toast they gave her on the big day. She and Larangeira divorced in 2022.

In June 2024, Angelina was arrested after police responded to a suspected domestic dispute at her New Jersey home, where she lived with her then-fiancé, Vinny Tortorella. She pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct the following October. It's unclear if Tortorella was a victim in the incident.

Angelina shared during the January 2025 Jersey Shore reunion that she and Tortorella had broken up.

Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino

Jeff Kravitz/Getty Images

View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article

The best cook of the Jersey Shore cast, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was another breakout star thanks to his abs and his ego. His hookups and blowups were equally frequent.

The Situation's life has been a rollercoaster since his time on Jersey Shore, but he's been doing quite well in recent years.

In 2012, Sitch went to rehab for oxycodone addiction. He's been sober since 2015.

In 2014, Sitch found himself in a tricky legal Situation when he was charged with tax fraud, with further charges being revealed in 2017. In 2018, Sitch pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion and was sentenced to eight months in prison, 500 hours of community service and two years of supervised probation. He was released from prison in September 2019. The Sun reported in May 2025 that Sitch still owed $2.3 million in unpaid taxes.

Sitch married his college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, in November 2018. They welcomed a son in 2021, a daughter in 2023 and a second daughter in 2024.

In September 2024, Sitch announced that he and Pesce were launching their own treatment centers for people struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Jenni 'JWoww' Farley

View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article

Jenni "JWoww" Farley became a fan-favorite right away. Her smoker's voice, beauty and quasi-mom energy with Snooki and Deena made her an instant star—and her relationships with Tom and Roger made for great TV.

Also? The girl packs a serious punch. Literally. Ask Sitch.

JWoww starred in spinoff shows with Snooki and has been a fixture in entertainment since her Seaside days. She married Roger Matthews in 2015, and they share a son and a daughter. Jenni filed for divorce from Matthews in 2018, and before it was finalized, her other ex, Tom Lippolis, was arrested and charged with trying to extort money from her.

In 2019, JWoww began dating professional wrestler Zack Clayton Carpinello, whom she nicknamed "24" since that was his age when they started hooking up. They got engaged in 2021.

JWoww directed the 2024 found-footage horror movieDEVON and the 2025 psychological thrillerNanny Cam.

For certain outfits, basic studs just don’t make the impact you’re going for. Sometimes you want something with a bit more drama, whether you’re heading to a formal event or simply adding a touch of sparkle to your everyday look. A bold pair of hoops can instantly elevate an outfit without feeling overdone.

One standout option is the Crystal Column Hoop Earrings. Right now, they’re on sale for 71% off at Anthropologie, bringing the price down from $44 to just $13. For a piece that looks this chic, it’s a strong value.

These earrings are available in gold-, silver-, or gunmetal-plated zinc with glass stones. They measure about 1 inch long and 1 inch wide, making them noticeable without feeling too heavy. One shopper described them as “very pretty,” adding, “I really like the shine, and it’s just the right size!”

The design features a chunky, slightly curved silhouette that creates a bold, dimensional look. Each hoop is detailed with three rows of stones, adding texture and shine from every angle. The gunmetal version leans more moody and dramatic, while the silver option has a softer, almost ethereal feel. The gold version offers a more classic, high shine finish.

Styling them is surprisingly simple. Because they already have a lot of visual interest, you can keep the rest of your look clean. They pair well with everything from tailored blazers to casual denim, and they look especially striking with hair pulled back in a bun or ponytail.

The gold and silver versions work well for the office or daytime events, adding just enough polish without feeling excessive. For evenings, the gunmetal option pairs nicely with darker outfits and dressier settings like dinners or cocktail events.

These earrings also make a thoughtful gift. They have the look of something much more expensive, but the price point makes them accessible. With three finishes to choose from, it’s easy to match them to someone’s personal style, whether they prefer warm- or cool-toned jewelry.

On This Day in 1999: This Hit Film Premiered and Redefined the Action-Horror Genre

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 7:00am

When Stephen Sommers was brought on to write the screenplay and direct The Mummy, it was quite a change from what he'd been doing. At the time, he was best known in Hollywood as the guy who wrote and directed the Disney films The Jungle Book and The Adventures of Huck Finn. However, Sommers had loved the 1932 film ever since he was 8 years old, and he jumped at the chance to help bring it to modern audiences.

"Universal had been trying to remake the [Boris] Karloff movie for nine years when I got on, and it was going to be a low-budget horror movie set in modern-day," Sommers told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. After contacting the film's producers, he secured a meeting with Universal Studios. Within an hour of pitching his screenplay idea, he was informed that they wanted to hire him.

The next step was hiring the lead actors. At the time, Brendan Fraser was best known for goofy comedies, like George of the Jungle and Encino Man -- far from heroic, tough guy Rick O'Connell. American audiences knew Rachel Weisz from supporting roles in Chain Reaction and Stealing Beauty. While rumors claimed that others were asked first, Sommers disputed that.

"Recently, I read an article saying that we went out to Tom Cruise and then Brad Pitt," he said. "I’m like, 'No, we only went to Brendan.' Brendan loved it right away." As for the lead actress, when given other choices, Weisz was the obvious pick.

"The studio had a list of actresses like Ashley Judd and other young American actresses," I said, 'They’re all American. She should be English.' So Rachel was the gal, and off we went."

The Mummy captured audiences' hearts and changed fans' perception of the action-horror genre. It grossed more than $417 million worldwide on an $80 million budget, surpassing everyone's expectations and spawning two sequels. Thanks to the film's enduring appeal, Fraser and Weisz are even reuniting 27 years after the first film to make The Mummy 4.

This time around, the film will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who also directed 2022's Scream and Scream VI.

"It's not lost on us that we are inheriting now another truly wonderful franchise," Gillett told Entertainment Weekly. "We just are so humbled and so grateful to get to continue on."

Which Famous Painter Mirrors Your Soul, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 6:56am

Imagine walking through an art museum or gallery only to be completely taken by a painting. The colors, emotions, textures, and more immediately immerse you. And it’s not just this painting. Other works of art by the same famous artist stand out to you. Your soul is drawn to a famous painter, because their artistry feels familiar and enchanting. Their ability to draw you in creates an otherworldly cosmic connection that transcends time and space.

Astrologers and painting enthusiasts agree that your energy and soul aligns with a famous painter, based on your zodiac sign. This famous painter’s energy translates through their works of art to find you. Whether it’s a specific painting, their style, or how their personal story comes into their art, this famous painter shares a soul connection with you. Read on to discover your famous painter, according to your zodiac sign.

RELATED: The Painting That Mirrors Your Soul, Based on Your Birth Month

Your Famous Painter, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Keep reading, and look for your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs.

Aries: Artemisia Gentileschi

As the first zodiacal sign, you share a kinship with anyone considered a trailblazer. You gravitate toward powerful, ambitious individuals who are destined to pave their own way. While there are many famous painters known for their willpower, you’ll see yourself in Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the most famous female painters of her time. Against all odds, her historical paintings have thrived throughout history. Her vibrancy and fierceness is even captured in her most evocative work. Aries, you cannot deny that Gentileschi shares your pluck, courage, and vivacity.

Taurus: Georgia O’Keeffe

You have an eye for art and beauty, thanks to being ruled by lovely Venus. Your astrological planet is known for taste, sensuality, and aesthetic, so it’s only natural that you align with Georgia O’Keeffe. You may feel initially drawn to the natural landscapes, flowers, and raw beauty found in O’Keeffe’s. Between the vibrant colors and flowing forms, O’Keeffe’s paintings captured the beauty found within your soul. O’Keeffe also captures your soul’s sensuality in her radical yet exquisite flower paintings. The romance, energy, and emotion O’Keeffe’s conveys will always speak to you on a deeper level.

Gemini: Henri Matisse

Art doesn’t always have to be so clean and precise, especially for a mutable sign like you. Your breezy personality and inquisitive mind looks for movement, color, and whimsy in a famous painter. Henri Matisse perfectly captures your spirit. Matisse’s beloved for the bright colors and fluid shapes that are seen throughout all of his work. His flowy brushstrokes resonate with your changeable attitude, while his use of color represents your liveliness. Not only does his work align with your sprightliness, but you’ll also find a deeper message beyond Matisse’s playful color and forms.

RELATE?: Which Cute Baby Animal Matches Your Zodiac Sign

Cancer: Vincent van Gogh

Cancer, you cannot settle for historical paintings or dull aristocratic portraits. You’re ruled by the moon, which is the astrological planet of emotional depth and intuition, so your soul will only align with a sensitive painter. Vincent van Gogh’s work will feel personal, since he portrays the emotional complexity, you feel. Just looking at his work will bring buried feelings to the surface. Not to mention that you’ll have a special soft spot knowing van Gogh’s emotional suffering played a key role in his paintings. You’ll always see your heart and soul within the layered swirls of van Gogh’s paintings.

Leo: Yayoi Kusama

Having a strong personality means having strong feelings about art. As a solar-ruled star sign, you’re only drawn to painters who share your larger-than-life personality. Yayoi Kusama will instantly stand out, because Kusama demands to be seen just like you. You may not know what to make of Kusama’s painting style—it’s uniquely individualistic, courageous, and daring. Kusama’s commitment to self-expression mirrors your genuine self-confidence. You’ll see your ability to command the room and elevate the energy within her dynamic paintings. There’s an undeniable fire shared between your soul and Kusama’s artistry.

Virgo: Leonardo da Vinci

Striving for excellence is your soul’s mission. Like any other Virgo, you’re particular about the art you consume and resonate with. A painting must be distinct, carefully arraigned, and precise for it to intrigue you, which is why you’re paired with Leonardo da Vinci. Similar to you, da Vinci spent hours plotting any number of his paintings. He left no stone unturned, even going so far to use his scientific knowledge and engineering skills to create a work of art. Da Vinci’s attention-to-detail and commitment to perfection is something your soul is all too familiar with.

Libra: Sandro Botticelli

There’s nothing more beautiful or captivating than Renaissance paintings. Libra, your Venusian spirit naturally gravitates toward romantic paintings with curvy feminine figures, adorable cherubs, and beautiful people. While you may love all Renaissance painters, your soul feels a unique kinship with Sandro Botticelli. You probably first fell in love with Botticelli upon seeing one of his most famous paintings, The Birth of Venus. Since then, your heart and soul has never strayed. Botticelli’s artistic style captures your tenderness, idealism, and harmoniousness. Your soul remembers that beauty’s all around whenever you think of Botticelli.

EXPAND: The 4 Birth Months Everyone Feels a Special Bond With

Scorpio: Edvard Munch

Pretty paintings don’t click with you, Scorpio. Your artistic taste is complex and perplexing, so you’ll feel drawn to Edvard Munch’s melancholic style. Unlike other famous painters, Munch doesn’t shy away from using a darker color palette to convey feelings most wish to ignore. Most of Munch’s work depicts a solitary figure or individuals who feel worlds apart despite being seen together. Your soul will sense the loneliness, introspectiveness, and emotional depth Munch’s work conveys. Instead of looking away out of fear of being seen, you’ll only dive further in because Munch’s painting validates your soul’s rawness.

Sagittarius: Frida Kahlo

Is there a famous painter who captures your frankness? Sagittarius, it’s no secret that you tell it like it is. Honesty—and art—requires depth, which is why you’re aligned with Frida Kahlo. You might have felt immediately drawn to the directness and openness in her self-portraits. Kahlo’s knowing, direct gaze feels like kismet. As you dive deeper into Kahlo’s work, you’ll resonate with her grief, introspectiveness, and resiliency since Kahlo’s paintings depict your innermost thoughts and feelings. Kahlo’s journey of self-discovery and self-actualization mirrors yours, which you will recognize in every brushstroke.

Capricorn: Paul Cézanne

Great art stands the test of time and influences painters for centuries to come. Capricorn, you’re fond of famous painters who have a lasting touch on the art world, so you’ll feel at home with Paul Cézanne. His warm, sunny landscapes speak to your soul. Peering into them feels like looking into a past life or your ancestor’s home. Cézanne’s paintings carry a nostalgic energy that leaves a lasting impression. Aside from seeing your soul’s many lives in his work, you’ll also be touched to know that Cézanne’s legacy and success mirrors your own.

Aquarius: Jean-Michel Basquiat

Your soul is here to shake up the world, so you’ll only feel a special bond with revolutionary painters. While many famous painters have made quite the impression, you’ll see yourself in Jean-Michel Basquiat’s daring artistic style. Basquiat’s works are raw and real, showcasing a mix of drawing, painting, and graffiti. Not only will you connect with his funky color scheme and daring strokes, but you’ll also resonate with Basquiat’s humanitarian spirit. Similar to you, Basquiat isn’t afraid to take a stance. Only a soul like yours truly understands Basquiat’s rebellious style and progressive approach.

Pisces: Claude Monet

Finding a famous painter who captures your whimsy is easier than you think. Pisces, you will feel inexplicably drawn to Claude Monet’s dreamy works of art. Monet’s best known for his soft, cool-toned color palette that resonates with your gentle nature. There’s a quiet beauty found in Monet’s art that feels like living in a fantasy world or dream state. Your soul feels at home mentally wandering Monet’s hazy sunsets and lush gardens. Anytime you need a break from reality, you should get lost in Monet’s paintings.

Clarks' 'Lightweight' Braided Leather Flip-Flops Feel Like 'Walking on Air,' and They're $33 at Amazon

When sandal season rolls around, the choices are endless — but finding a flip-flop that actually supports your feet all day is another story. Many styles are too flat, too flimsy, or start to wear out after just one season. If you've been settling for cheap foam flip-flops that leave your feet sore by midday, it may be time to upgrade your shoe game.

One option worth considering is the Clarks Women’s Fenner Nerice Flip-Flops available on Amazon. Made from faux leather and designed with Clarks’ signature cushioning, they offer a more supportive, comfortable feel for everyday wear. Right now, they’re also on sale for 40% off, bringing the price down to just $33. They’re available in two versatile colors — honey and off-white — so they pair easily with a range of outfits. The sandal sizes range from five to 12.

The Clarks Fenner Nerice sandals are a step up from basic foam flip-flops thanks to the thoughtfully designed build. The leather upper gives them a slightly more polished look, while the breathable footbed helps reduce the footprint marks that often show up on lower-quality styles, according to reviewers.

Comfort is another area where these sandals set themselves apart. They feature a cushioned footbed with targeted padding in high-impact areas — like the heel and ball of the foot — where you feel the most pressure when walking. An EVA midsole keeps the sandals lightweight while adding shock absorption and a bit of traction, making them more practical for all-day wear.

Many Amazon shoppers highlighted the comfort and support as standout features. “Very comfortable, good arch support,” one buyer shared. Another wrote, “They're so incredibly comfortable, it truly feels like I'm walking on air. Plus, they're surprisingly lightweight, so I barely notice them on my feet.”

With their versatile design, they pair easily with summer dresses, denim shorts, or lightweight trousers — making them an everyday choice for warm days ahead.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Forensic Science Professor Reveals What She Thinks Will Ultimately Solve the Case

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 6:15am

As Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing three months after her abduction, a forensic science professor weighed in on the DNA technology being used to analyze evidence—and how it will likely solve the case.

On Wednesday, May 6, The CW aired a special called NewsNation Presents: The Nancy Guthrie Mystery. NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin spoke with several experts, including April Stonehouse, a forensic science professor at Arizona State University.

“We know scientifically that they will leave behind traces of their DNA," Stonehouse said of the perpetrator in Nancy's case. "It’s just a matter of locating and finding it.”

She told Entin, “So what I wanted to know is, how many people were there? Because I’m showing you a nice mixture that has two people. These are called simple mixtures. When you get to mixtures of three and four and five people, those are called complex mixtures.”

When asked if it takes more time to process complex DNA, Stonehouse confirmed that it can. "Or it can take more DNA," she pointed out. "And so you basically are at the mercy of whatever the suspect left behind.”

Finally, Entin asked, "Do you think it’ll be a DNA that ultimately solves the Nancy Guthrie case?”

Stonehouse replied, "I hope it is. I hope it is. Yes, I do.”

In mid-April, ABC 7 reported that a private Florida lab working with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department sent a DNA evidence, a hair sample, to the FBI for processing. A genetic genealogist, CeCe Moore, agreed with Stonehouse during a conversation with Entin shortly afterward that DNA could be the "Hail Mary" that solves the case. Moore later shared that testing could take months, assuming the sample was a rootless hair.

Nancy was last seen at her Tucson, Ariz., home on the evening of Jan. 31. As of writing, no suspect has been named.

A New Energy Drink Brand Just Launched in 4 Fun Flavors

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 6:05am

A Storm—or should we say several—are heading to the energy drink aisle.

The new energy drink brand debuted under the Monster umbrella this week as a wellness-forward option for people who "expect more from their energy" and "make mindful choices about what they put in their body," at least according to a statement from general manager Tim Ryder.

"From morning runs to workouts to weekend exploration, STORM is designed to fuel real, everyday moments where fitness, lifestyle and community intertwine," Ryder added, "It’s Energy for Life."

New Premium Energy Drink Storm Hits the Market With 4 Debut Flavors

Storm is debuting in four flavors—Guava Strawberry, Harvest Grape, Tropical, and Valencia Orange—packed with 200 milligrams of caffeine and a proprietary blend of immunity, metabolism, as well as skin and hair health-supporting vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), vitamin B7 (biotin), vitamin B8, vitamin B12, vitamin C, chromium, and zinc. The entire line is sugar-free and each serving (12-ounce can) contains only 10 calories.

Storm energy drinks debut in four flavors (L-R): Guava Strawberry, Harvest Grape, Tropical, and Valencia Orange.

The new energy drink line may look a whole lot like a spinoff of Reign's original Storm line, which was celebrated by fans for its "delicious" taste before it ultimately disappeared to their dismay, but Parade confirmed it's not the same and its own standalone brand.

Storm does offer similar flavors and come from the same parent company, but it features its own unique formula. That said, the company's celebrity partners—which include tennis pros and Olympians Sloane Stephens and Taylor Fritz, NBA star Quentin Grimes, Grammy-winning singer Maren Morris, and lifestyle and fashion influencer Morgan Riddle—are all raving about the new line, so if you liked the now-defunct collection, you may very well enjoy these too (and in turn, reap more lifestyle-supporting benefits than before).

Better-for-You Kids Soda Launches in 4 Flavors and Tastes Like a Treat

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 6:01am

Many parents are all too familiar with the struggle to limit their kids' sugar intake, and sweet drinks like juice and soda can be a major culprit. In fact, drinks like traditional sodas can pose a particular problem, because not only do they tend to contain high amounts of sugar, but they are also easily accessible and highly desirable for kids.

With their brand-new juicy sparkling kids drink brand NoBiggie, former CMO of Glossier Ali Weiss and former VP of Quality and R&D for Vita Coco Aytunc Atabek are hoping to address these issues head-on, launching a drink that not only contains significantly less sugar than the average soda but also offers kids a 'fun' drink option (and thus ideally saves parents the headache of fighting over whether their children can have a soda).

"We noticed that kids were aging out of juice boxes, parents were not liking them because of the high sugar content, and that there was this real desire for fizz because it felt special and it felt like a treat," Weiss explained. "Everywhere we looked, we couldn't find that in between step, that leap from the juice box to the soda, that leap from the juice box to the flavored sparkling water. There was nothing that was sort of that Goldilocks in between just right moment, so we set out to create it."

Of the NoBiggie difference, Atabek explained, "One of the things that was really important to us was that in the marketplace, the products we see in a similar scale have three times more sugar than us. They have twenty grams per serving versus where we are in the Goldilocks range. The product feels sweetened by the juices and nothing else but the fruit and then still has three to five grams of sugar."

The NoBiggie debut collection features four flavor options, including Strawberry Watermelon, Clementine Lemon, Cherry Berry and Kiwi Apple. Each can is 7.5oz, and all four flavors have no artificial sweeteners or dyes and no added sugar. Each drink contains up to five grams of sugar, all of which are naturally occurring from the fruit.

NoBiggie

Beyond just the flavors, the NoBiggie drinks contain their own interactive elements, with the goal of making the beverage feel even more like a fun treat for kids. Among those features are dares, secret notes and game board elements.

About that decision, Weiss shared, "We've thought and created something that's so much more than just the sip of the drink...There's secret mantras and little jokes and prompts in the can."

"Everything is built on creating these moments of connection and these particular memory-making moments," Weiss added.

"NoBiggie is more than just a beverage company," Atabek said. "We are a treat company. We are bringing those moments."

Both co-founders also hinted that this could mean additional products that are "no biggie" in the future, beyond the new sparkling drinks.

NoBiggie drinks can be purchased through the NoBiggie website, on Amazon or at select experiential locations.

1980s Pop Star Thought This Now-Iconic Hit Would Ruin the Band's Career

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:59am

The English new wave band Culture Club arrived on the music scene in 1982 with their debut album, Kissing to Be Clever, but the band’s first two singles failed to take off. Then came "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me"—the massive breakthrough hit single that would turn the group into global stars. There was just one problem: frontman Boy George didn’t want to release it as a single at all, fearing it could derail the band’s career before it even began.

After Culture Club's first two singles "White Boy" and "I'm Afraid of Me" flopped, Virgin Records was ready to pull the plug on the band. Instead, the British record label decided to shift gears and release the band's soulful, reggae-inspired ballad "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" as the third single. But Boy George vehemently disagreed with the decision.

"I didn't want ['Do You Really Want to Hurt Me'] to come out as a single," says Boy George in a 2013 interview. "You couldn't dance to it. You couldn't play it at a club. So who's gonna like that? It's really personal. It's really slow. I mean, I liked the song, but I just didn't really see it as a single."

Boy George felt so strongly, he says he stormed into Virgin Records saying, "I can't believe you're going to ruin our careers before they started" and even threatened to leave the band if they put it out. Spoiler alert: He didn't quit, and they released the single.

What happened next changed the trajectory of Culture Club's success forever. With a boost from a last-minute performance of "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" on UK’s Top of the Pops, the song that almost didn't happen reached No. 1 in 23 countries, including the UK and Canada. In the U.S., it reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the charts for a colossal 25 weeks. In 1984, the song was also nominated for a Grammy.

"I was so wrong," Boy George admits in the 2013 interview and goes onto explain how the success of "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" shifted the way he thought about songwriting. "I realized from that point that vulnerability was really to key in reaching other people."

"Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," with its relatable and emotional lyrics and its distinctive sound stood out among Culture Club's others singles. It went onto become a defining hit for the band and helped shape the band's future songs and success.

Decades later, this song is still widely recognized and enjoyed. To date, Culture Club’s 1982 hit song has over 209.7 million streams on Spotify.

Throughout music history, many artists have misjudged their biggest hits. Initially Patsy Cline didn't want to record her iconic song "Crazy." Four Seasons' keyboardist Bob Gaudio co-wrote "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)," but the other band members didn’t like it at first. And “She Drives Me Crazy” by the Fine Young Cannibals was almost thrown out before the band's producer saved it. It's hard to imagine if any one of these song didn't exist.

What Boy George feared might ruin the band instead became the song that changed everything. "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" not only launched Culture Club to fame, but also cemented its place in 1980s music history.

1975 No. 1 Classic Rock Hit Was Rewritten in 30 Minutes—and Everything Changed

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:50am

In 1975, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils had a huge hit with “Jackie Blue.” The song, from the band’s second album It’ll Shine When It Shines, hit No. 1 on the Cashbox Singles chart for two weeks on May 10, 1975, and went to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Written by Steve Cash and Larry Lee, “Jackie Blue" was the second Top 40 single for the band—they had previous success with the 1973 hit “If You Wanna Get to Heaven”—and it was by far their biggest song. The radio classic was seemingly about a woman looking for happiness and meaning in her life. But it didn’t start out that way.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils bass player Michael "Supe" Granda told Classic Bands "Jackie Blue" was written during a very creative time for the band, when songs were being “written in the morning, recorded in the afternoon, and mixed in the evening” as the band stayed at a ranch.

Record producer Glyn Johns heard Lee playing “Jackie Blue” on the piano and suggested the band record it. But he also suggested a major change that would make the song more commercially successful.

“Now, there's a phase two of the song,” Granda added. “The song was about a guy named Jackie Blue. He was this. He went here. And [Lee] started putting the vocals on, and Glyn Johns said, ‘Larry, come here. This is a number one song, but it must be about a girl. You must change the lyrics.’”

“We were a little bitty band from Springfield, Missouri. Glyn Johns was a famed producer, making a suggestion. Of course, we're going to take his advice,” Granda shared. “So Larry grabbed Steve Cash, and they went off into an adjacent studio that had a piano... Steve was a master wordsmith. Those lyrics are very cool in the song. … So, they came back over. ‘Hey, we've got some new lyrics.’ Larry went out and sang the new lyrics about Jackie Blue. So, Jackie Blue had a sex change in mid-recording. “

‘Jackie Blue’ was originally about a guy on drugs

Granda talked about the origins of "Jackie Blue" in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. “Larry Lee brought the song to us,” he said. “He said he wrote it about a guy we knew. Every night, this guy would go out to the nightclub with a wad of money and a pocket full of [drugs] and he’d be out there chasing women.”

In the book The Ozark Mountain Daredevils On Record, keyboardist Buddy Brayfield recalled a slightly different story. “[Jackie Blue] was about a guy on downers, is what it was first about," he said. “This down-and-out guy was Jackie Blue. Glyn turned around to Larry and Steve and said, ‘You’ve got to re-write the lyrics and make this song about a girl, and it will be a hit song.’”

Cash noted that the rewrite came quickly. “I sat down at the piano with [Larry]. In about 20 minutes, we finished the song,” the musician shared. “He wrote all the melody, and I just helped him out with the lyrics.”

In a post on the official Ozark Mountain Devils Facebook page, Lee recalled that the game-changing rewrite was completed in half an hour. “We just knocked some new lyrics out in about thirty minutes,” he shared. “[From] some drugged-out guy, we changed Jackie into a reclusive girl."

1978 Timeless Friendship-Themed Yacht Rock Collaboration Still Sounds Fresh 48 Years Later

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:46am

In the late 70, Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks collaborated on a song about friendship that would jump-start his solo career and become one of yacht rock's most enduring staples.

"Whenever I Call You Friend" landed squarely at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in October 1978. It remained a chart staple for a remarkable 20 weeks in total.

Loggins and the legendary Melissa Manchester co-wrote the song. Manchester’s official website quoted the artist discussing the tune that appeared on Loggins’ second solo LP Nightwatch.

“Kenny and I kept meeting each other at award shows, and he asked if I wanted to write with him. We met up, and we knocked it out. It was great. As a writer, he knows what he wants. I’d rather be in a room with someone like that than not.”

Once the song was written, Loggins needed someone to sing it with. He recalled how he enlisted Nicks, then a member of Fleetwood Mac, to lend her vocals to the track.

In 2024, he told PEOPLE Magazine that he first became friendly with Nicks after opening for Fleetwood Mac on their Rumors Tour. It was during that time that the singer and lyricist offered her talents as a vocalist if Loggins ever needed her.

"She said to me one day, probably we were drunk, she said, 'If you need a chick singer, give me a call.' So I said, 'OK, I got that going for me.'"

The sessions for the song about friendship were reportedly anything but friendly. Nicks said Loggins pushed her so hard to get the vocal he wanted that she nearly quit recording.

"That was a discipline thing," she said in a 1982 interview with High Times. "I called him Slave-Driver Loggins. He cracked the whip on me for two days to get that particular performance. And I was downright angry at points where I was going, 'I'm not going to do this.'"

"He said, 'Yes, you are.' He's a real good producer, Kenny, he got exactly what he wanted. When it was done, and I left, I was knocked out. I really had to keep my mouth shut and do what I was told. And it worked. He wasn't interested in a dull vocal."

The track was officially released and included Nicks as a featured contributor on the album version. However, she was not listed in the credits when the single was issued.

"I didn't realize at the time how difficult it was to go from a successful duo into being a successful soloist, and I credit Stevie Nicks a lot with my breakthrough, because it was the duet with Stevie that ultimately made a huge difference in launching my solo career, 'cause she was so loved at the time."

"Whenever I Call You Friend" was Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks' only collaboration. It remains one of the most beloved of the 1970s.

The hilarious young housemates became pop culture icons with their big personalities, hair gel, feuds, fights, fist-pumping and romances. After a hiatus, most returned to MTV with 2018's spinoff Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which rode the waves of success for nearly a decade.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation stars pose at the Season 9 premiere celebration.

While MTV announced that Season 9 of Family Vacation would mark the end for the series, the stars have implied that they might continue on another network—or make the move to streaming! This spring, Snooki and her castmates posted a video and captioned it: "Legends don’t retire—they reroute. The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next."

@snooki

Legends don’t retire — they reroute. ❤️The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next✌🏽💋

Snooki also told GMA, “It’s not over for us. We don’t know where we’re going yet, but we had a great relationship with MTV. It’s bittersweet, but I feel like we still got more.”

Given all the years of wild moments on both the original show and the spinoff, viewers will surely agree! Read on for Parade's guide to the 20 craziest moments in Jersey Shore and Family Vacation history.

20. 'Jersey Shore' Season 1, Episode 8: Is there a shore stalker?

Yes. Fans see Pauly D meet a woman named Danielle who keeps calling and visiting him too much, so the housemates snark that she’s a “stage five clinger.” Drama ensues as JWoww says, “That girl is going to go psycho on him.” When Danielle confronts her unwilling boyfriend, Pauly blasts her over the phone while ending the brief relationship: “You stalked my whole entire life.”

19. 'Jersey Shore' Season 2, Episode 7: Who fights over a note?

Sammi is on edge after discovering an anonymous note intended to make her aware of beau Ronnie’s alleged cheating. It read:

Sam, the first night at BED when you left, Ron made out with two girls and put his head in between a cocktail waitresses breasts. Also was grinding with multiple fat women. When you left crying at Klutch, Ron was holding hands and dancing with a female and took down her number. Multiple people in the house know, therefore you should know the truth. Use this information wisely.

Sammi is not pleased with this information and things quickly escalate into an actual physical fight with JWoww. The girls hit each other so hard that their roommates have to break it up!

18. 'Jersey Shore' Season 1, Episode 3: Angelina's excuse

When boyfriend trouble causes Angelina to skip work at the T-shirt shop, she arrives at the store claiming to be sick, but her boss doesn’t buy it. Setting a standard for laziness, Angelina tells cameras, “I don’t have to do what I don’t want to do.”

17. 'Family Vacation' Season 1, Episode 1: The Sammi doll

Sammi didn’t immediately join the spinoff, returning to the fold later in the series. During her absence, Pauly brings in a body bag containing a Sammi doll that even speaks her show taglines. Continuing their feud even when she's gone, Deena and Snooki assault the Sammi effigy and drown it in the pool.

16. 'Family Vacation' Season 1, Episode 11: Angelina's cab catastrophe

The roomies have long called Angelina the “dirty little hamster” and on this episode, it reaches new heights when she reveals that she “sharted” during a cab ride. Angelina completely disgusts Deena, Snooki and Jenni before sharing her cautionary cab tale with the guys back at the house.

15. 'Jersey Shore' Season 2, Episode 10: Snooki vs. Angelina

When Angelina reunites with her co-stars in Miami, she declares, “I don’t give a f--- about anybody in this house.” Naturally, Snooki is offended that Angelina does not see them as family and hits Angelina. It quickly turns into a clawing, kicking, hair-pulling brawl as the others look on in shock. After that, Angelina decides to leave the show—only to return later.

14. 'Family Vacation' Season 3, Episode 10: Sunday dinner showdown

Insults and expletives fly during Sunday dinner after Angelina and longtime rival JWoww argue over Jen’s boyfriend. But it gets much worse—the two stood up to scream at each other and come close to throwing wine bottles.

13. 'Jersey Shore' Season 3, Episode 7: Ronnie's rage

After Sammi goes out dancing with other men, Ronnie gets so angry that he destroys her room. With co-stars watching, he destroys all of Sammi’s stuff—including her glasses.

12. 'Family Vacation' Season 3, Episode 10: Snooki walks off

Tensions rise between the cast members during an outing on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk, resulting in a massive public screaming match. Ultimately, Snooki leaves the house because she wants to go home to her kids. Fortunately, she doesn’t actually quit the show.

11. 'Family Vacation' Season 2, Episode 19: Mike's Legal 'Situation'

Mike's tax evasion case brings real-life drama to the show. Unlike the chaos elsewhere on our list, this one hits differently—fans gather and his co-stars cheer him on in front of the courthouse before he's sentenced to federal prison. For once, the cast is at a loss for words.

10. 'Family Vacation' Season 1, Episode 14: Rehab for Ron?

Mike attempts a heart-to-heart with Ronnie regarding his out-of-control partying—even suggesting he enter rehab. But the well-meaning sit-down turns sour when Ronnie throws Mike's own legal troubles and rough history back at him.

9. 'Jersey Shore' Season 5, Episode 5: Snooki has a situation

The cast’s partying leads to a mortifying moment with Snooki often front and center. As Vulture describes, this specific club scene shows Snooki getting “a little too loose on the dance floor” before peeing in her pants. The next day, she hilariously wears two pairs of underwear in case of another accident.

8. 'Family Vacation' Season 2, Episode 13: Angelina crosses the line

The cast spends weeks convinced Angelina and Vinny are secretly in love, even encouraging Angelina to make a move. But things take a serious turn when Vinny accuses Angelina of grabbing his crotch without consent—leaving him furious.

During a family dinner, Angelina insists Vinny is in love with her, but he doesn't hold back: "I hate that girl. I'm done with that girl, seriously. She went too far. I'm done being nice to her. She's f---ing psycho."

7. 'Family Vacation' Season 2, Episode 3: A crew intervention

Ronnie's volatile relationship with the mother of his daughter—Jen Harley (not to be confused with Jenni Farley)—boils over on camera. Furious over text messages from Ronnie, Jen confronts him in a screaming match—calling him a loser, slapping him and spitting in his face. A male crew member has to step in before things escalate further.

6. 'Family Vacation' Season 3, Episodes 28-29: Wedding woes

What's supposed to be Angelina's big day quickly becomes one of the show's most cringeworthy moments when bridesmaids Snooki, Deena and Jenni deliver a roast-style speech that bombs spectacularly. As guests boo them off, an offended Angelina rejects Deena's apology—and Snooki quits the show, only to return later.

5. 'Jersey Shore' Season 4, Episode 5: Mike vs. a wall

Fans are no strangers to the housemates' epic fights, and in Italy, The Situation freaks out on Ronnie. "You wanna hit me, tough guy?!" he screams. But then Mike headbutts a wall, knocking himself out instead!

4. 'Jersey Shore' Season 1, Episode 8: The boardwalk brawl

After being heckled by a stranger on the Seaside Heights boardwalk while taking a stroll with Sammi, Ronnie utters his now-infamous line, "Come at me, bro," and a brawl erupts. Ronnie knocks out the man during the fight and is arrested, though he reportedly avoided a criminal record through pretrial intervention.

3. 'Jersey Shore' Season 1, Episode 7: JWoww and Mike face off

During a visit to Atlantic City, Jenni drinks too much and ends up getting kicked out of the club. Back at the house, Jenni starts angrily punching Mike’s back like a wild child because he didn't help her out during the incident. “Chill the f--- out,” Mike tells Jenni, pushing her away. But she refuses to back down and punches him hard in the face like a boxer!

2. 'Jersey Shore' Season 3, Episode 3: Snooki's search

One of Jersey Shore's most unforgettable moments unfolds when Snooki drinks all day at a boardwalk bar and takes off running, screaming, "Where's the beach?"—while standing right next to it. Her castmates rush over to keep her out of trouble, but she's already in over her head. Cops escort a sloshed Snooki off the beach. After a wrestling match with the officers, she's arrested for public intoxication.

To commemerate the 15-year anniversary of the incident, Snooki reunited with the officer who arrested her and posted a hilarious TikTok about it that's racked up 20 million views!

♬ The Strumbellas - Spirits - Alikhan 1. 'Jersey Shore' Season 1, Episode 4: A shocking assault

What begins as a typical day of drinking turns into one of the most disturbing moments in reality TV history when Snooki is punched in the face by a male bar patron after the gang's drinks are stolen. MTV famously chose not to air the impact, fading to black instead. The man was arrested and the network's decision to censor the violence sparked a broader conversation about how television depicts attacks on women. The cast—and the country—rallied around Snooki in the aftermath.

1969 Rock and Roll Anthem Had a Massive Comeback 55 Years After Its Release

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:40am

A legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival song is going down in history as one of the "biggest comeback stories" on Spotify.

CCR's 1969 hit "Fortunate Son" is one of the most iconic songs from their catalog, and according to new Spotify data, it experienced a massive second wind in 2024, peaking on the platform a whopping 55 years after its initial release.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Spotify recently revealed new data in honor of its 20-year anniversary, unveiling some of the most-streamed songs and artists, albums, podcasts and audiobooks of all time. As part of the data drop, the streaming platform highlighted some of the "biggest comeback stories" in its history, with the CCR anthem coming in at No. 1.

"Fortunate Son," written by CCR frontman John Fogerty, is still a fan-favorite with Spotify listeners, even over half a century after it first came out. In fact, the powerful protest song was the most-streamed song from the '60s in 2025, as revealed by statistics from Chart Data earlier this year.

Fogerty, 80, celebrated the impressive feat by posting about it on social media, writing in a January 2026 Instagram Story, "Wow! So Happy to see Fortunate Son as the most streamed song of the 1960s in 2025! Almost 60 years later!"

"Thanks for continuing to listen and keeping these songs in your hearts!" he added at the time.

View this post on Instagram

Fogerty has also recently opened up about the songwriting process of "Fortunate Son," revealed in an interview with Rick Beato that the song actually almost had a different name.

"I’d already been showing the band the chords to the song and I had a vague idea of what it [would be]," Fogerty explained, noting that he first planned on calling the song, "Favorite Son."

The song was heavily influenced by "political and cultural" themes that Fogerty said were "just brewing" in his mind at the time, ultimately leading him to title the song, "Fortunate Son."

People Are Borrowing Up to $70,000 to Make Disney Trips Happen

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:17am

The Disney Parks are famous for their pixie dust, magic, and heavy dose of nostalgia, but in recent years, the cost of entry has become increasingly unaffordable for the average family. While a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth was once a standard childhood rite of passage, it is quickly becoming a luxury experience that some fans are willing to go into extreme debt to maintain.

Ticket prices have been increasing year-over-year, and currently, a one-day ticket to a single Walt Disney World park starts at $119—and that’s for non-peak days. A single-day ticket in 2027 could cost you upwards of $219. When you factor in the "extras" that feel like essentials—lodging, dining, Lightning Lane passes, and the inevitable souvenir haul—a family getaway can easily run into the five-figure range. But according to The New Yorker, these sky-high costs aren’t deterring a dedicated group of “Disney adults” from making multiple trips a year, even if their bank accounts say otherwise.

Related: Kylie Kelce’s Hot Take on Disney World Is Raising Eyebrows

The Growing Trend of "Disney Debt"

It appears there’s a growing trend of fans borrowing money just to experience the Happiest Place on Earth. According to data from LendingTree, roughly 45% of parents with children under 18 admit they’ve used credit cards and other interest-based means to fund these vacations.

The commitment to the Disney lifestyle can sometimes reach eye-popping heights. The New Yorker recently highlighted a couple who confessed to a YouTuber that they had borrowed a whopping $70,000, a portion of which was used to fund their park habits. For these fans, the parks aren't just a vacation; they are a significant part of their identity and community. Whether they’re hardcore pin collectors or "DisneyBounders" who dress in character-inspired outfits, the parks offer an emotional escape that many feel is worth the financial strain.

The Reality Behind the Magic

For many Disney adults, the escape provides a sense of peace and a break from the stresses of daily life. However, financial experts warn that the long-term cost may be higher than expected if it hinders the ability to achieve major life goals, such as homeownership or retirement. A popular joke often seen on social media captures the sentiment perfectly: "My retirement plan is just vibes and pixie dust."

While the joke is funny, the true reality is more serious. The magic of a walk down Main Street is undeniably real—but so is the high-interest debt that can follow it home. For those looking to experience the wonder without the "debt hangover," saving in advance may be the most magical move of all, ensuring the trip is as stress-free as it is memorable.

Color Psychologist Says if Your Favorite Color Is Purple, You Likely Have These 7 Traits

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:14am

Purple (or violet) may be the final color on the rainbow, but look around, and you'll see it in abundance out in nature. Lilacs, violets, lavender and amethyst are among the many blooms in a purple hue. Look up at sunrise or sunset, and you may see streaks of purple in the sky. Produce like the skin of red onions, eggplants and some asparagus stalks also comes in a shade of purple.

The hue is also often linked to regal types and royalty. One color psychologist notes that if your favorite color is purple, you're more likely to have certain characteristics.

"Purple lovers are the most open people in the room: open to ideas, open to experience, open to things that can't be easily explained or quantified," explains Michelle Lewis, a color psychology expert, certified color analyst, author and the founder of ColorAnalysis.com and The Color Institute. "They're drawn to mystery, exploration and the kind of conversations that go somewhere unexpected."

She knows some might consider purple-preference people a tad "woo" or fancy. And you know what?

"They genuinely couldn't care less," points out Lewis, who is also the author of Color Secrets: Learning The One Universal Language We Were Never Taught. "They know what they know, and they trust what they feel. There's a quiet confidence in the purple lover that doesn't need external validation because their sense of self is rooted in something much deeper than other people's opinions."

As a result, purple lovers often share some common characteristics. If your favorite color is purple, you're more likely to have these seven traits.

What Is the Psychology of Loving Purple?

Lucy Lambriex/Getty Images

Lewis describes purple as a "connective" color. "It bridges the seen and the unseen, the logical and the intuitive, the personal and the universal," she tells Parade. "Historically associated with royalty and spiritual authority, it carries a sense of elevated awareness that draws a very specific kind of person."

She notes that people who love purple aren't only interested in surface-level knowledge.

"They want to understand what's underneath, what connects everything and what can't be easily explained," she adds. "Purple sits at the edge of the visible spectrum, and the people drawn to it tend to live at that edge too—always reaching beyond the obvious toward something more expansive."

If you're new to color psychology, that may sound like a lot to say about someone based on color preference. But Lewis, who delves into color psychology for a living, says that favorite colors aren't random.

"Color preference is one of the most honest things about a person because it's chosen by something very deep inside of us that’s borderline instinctual," she states.

You don't reason your way into choosing colors. You feel it. And that feeling is connected to something very real about who you are, what you value and how you move through the world.

7 Traits of People Whose Favorite Color Is Purple, According to a Color Psychologist1. Deeply spiritual

Lewis says that purple lovers are usually the most spiritually-connected person in their orbits, though they're not necessarily religious. Instead, Lewis says that people whose favorite color is purple seek "meaning, connection and something larger than themselves."

"Spirituality isn't a practice for them; it's a way of being," Lewis notes.

2. Highly intuitive

Gut feelings feel right to purple enthusiasts.

"Purple personalities trust their gut in a way that can seem almost uncanny to the people around them," Lewis explains. "They pick up on energy, undercurrents and unspoken dynamics that others miss entirely, and they've learned to take that seriously."

3. Genuinely open-minded

People with a purple preference are essentially unicorns in modern society.

"Purple lovers don't just tolerate different perspectives—they're actively curious about them," Lewis says. "They want to see, experience and understand as much of the human experience as possible, which makes them some of the most non-judgmental people you'll ever meet."

4. Naturally connective

Since purple is a bridge color, people who love the color are like the glue and dot-connectors of their circles.

"They have a rare ability to connect people, ideas and experiences that seem unrelated on the surface, drawing threads together in ways that create something new and meaningful," Lewis explains.

5. Drawn to mystery

Lewis notes that "purple people" consider the mysterious as an invitation, rather than something unsettling.

"Whether it's through stones, energy healing, meditation, astrology or simply a love of the unexplained, purple lovers are magnetized by anything that exists beyond the purely rational," she says.

6. Creatively expansive

Purple lovers may connect the dots, but Lewis says it's rare to see them do so with straight lines. This trait carries over to how they approach life more generally—anything can be a creative pursuit.

"Their imagination produces ideas and art that feel like they came from somewhere beyond the ordinary," Lewis shares. "Creativity for them isn't a hobby or a skill. It's how they process and express their experience of the world."

7. Visionary

"Purple lovers tend to see things before others do—possibilities, connections, futures," Lewis reveals.

These individuals think expansively and rarely settle for the obvious or conventional.

"Their vision is one of their greatest gifts, even when the people around them aren't ready for it yet," she points out.

3 Potential Challenges Faced by People Who Love Purple1. Being misunderstood

Lewis reports that purple lovers operate on a frequency that not everyone can tune into.

"Their spiritual orientation, their intuitive leaps and their comfort with the unexplained can make them seem eccentric or out of touch to more grounded, literal-minded people, even when they're seeing something completely real," she explains.

2. Difficulty communicating their insights practically

Lewis says that purple personalities can find it deeply frustrating when they want to share a discovery or lead others to a new place.

"Purple personalities often perceive things that are genuinely difficult to put into words," Lewis adds. "Learning to translate their intuitive knowledge into concepts others can receive is one of their most important lifelong challenges."

3. Isolation

"The same openness and depth that make purple lovers so extraordinary can also make them feel profoundly alone," Lewis warns.

Indeed, she shares that not everyone wants to go where a purple personality wants to go.

"Finding people who match their level of curiosity, spirituality and expansiveness can be genuinely hard," she notes. "The world needs more purple lovers. They just don't always know where to find each other."

Final Takeaways

Color preference isn't random and can reveal traits. What does that mean for people who like purple?

  • Purple is a "bridge color" often associated with royalty, spirituality and connectivity. Lewis says purple lovers prefer to dig deeper than surface-level insights.
  • People who love purple often share certain traits. Purple lovers are often intuitive, visionary and genuinely open-minded.
  • Purple preference has its pitfalls. People whose favorite color is purple may have a hard time explaining new concepts or feel isolated. It's hard to match a purple lover's deep spirituality and curiosity level. But Lewis says the world is better off with purple-loving people (and their common traits) in it.

The 3-3-3 Packing Rule You’ll Wish You Knew Sooner

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:10am

I recently went on a trip with my family–my parents, siblings, their spouses and their kids. I was absolutely shocked by how much some of them had packed for just a 7-day trip to Disney World. I, on the other hand, confidently had just a carry-on and personal item, both of which had plenty of room available for souvenirs to bring back home.

The one thing that I noticed in my family’s packing habits is that they brought many planned outfits, yet none of those outfits were meant to be mixed and matched with each other. They also brought extra outfits “in case they felt like wearing them instead”. Personally for me, I’d meticulously plan my outfit options ahead of time, that way I can pack nice and light. Not only does that mean I get to skip the baggage drop and pickup at the airport, but I can save money on my flight, and save aggravation of having to lug around a large suitcase while traveling.

If I could go back before the trip and walk my family through packing more efficiently, enough to only bring a carry-on, I would have them try out the 3-3-3 method.

The 3-3-3 method is something that's been circulating the internet for a little bit now. I’ve used it before, and I’ve also done a few variations on it to fit certain vacation needs. The method is simple: pack three tops, three bottoms and three pairs of shoes. This gives you a total of 27 different possible outfit combinations for your trip! Now, I know that each outfit combination won’t feel exactly different (especially if it’s just a change of shoes) but you get the gist.

The key to using this method is to stick to a vibe or color palette. This way, every top, bottom, and shoe can be interchanged to match each other like a capsule wardrobe. It’s always good to choose clothing that leans towards being more basic. Not only can this be a timeless look for your vacation outfits, but they are more likely to look seamless when mixing and matching. I tend to stick with a simple denim short or pant, a cotton or linen short or pant, and a skirt. Then, if you wear the same top with all three bottoms, the outfit will seem completely different. You can get a little bit more creative with the tops by experimenting with patterns or colors, but you have to make sure they truly can go with every bottom option.

Shoes are simple. You can never go wrong with a classic pair of white sneakers, and then the other pairs of shoes depend on where you are going for your trip. Whether you’re packing sandals, ballet flats, or loafers, try to keep the colors neutral so they can easily be worn with all of your clothing options.

Don’t Overpack Your Accessories And Toiletries

Many people would look at all of the extra room in their suitcase after using the 3-3-3 method and think that they could fit in a lot more toiletries, hair products, accessories and more. My advice here is to not take away from the hard work that you just put into packing a curated carry-on. Stick to minimalism here as well. If you want to have one extra purse (besides the one you will keep in your personal item), that is totally fine–and it can help add more variety to your outfits. But more than one bag? Not necessary.

As for other accessories like hats, jewelry and scarves, try to not let them take up more than one small packing-cube sized amount. Then, for toiletries and other products, keep it simple. If you’re going to Disney like my family did (or any nice hotel for that matter), you don’t need to bring shampoo, conditioner and body wash. That in itself should save you tons of room in your suitcase. For hair, skip the blowdryer–you will most likely have one wherever you are staying. Pick one tool to bring–like a straightener or a curling iron. There’s no reason to bring both.

At the end of the day, you're gone for 7 days. You don’t need every single item that you’re used to using at home with you on your trip. Having seamless travel days is totally worth the light packing, and you’ll be happy to have tons of room for souvenirs to bring back, too.

Beaches Resorts Is Opening Three Brand New Getaways for Families

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:10am

If you’ve ever tried to book a spring break trip at Beaches Turks and Caicos, you know that finding a room can feel like winning the lottery. The demand for high-end, all-inclusive family travel is at an all-time high, and the Caribbean’s premier family brand has officially taken note. In a bold move to meet that demand, Beaches has announced it is doubling its resort footprint over the next five years, adding three entirely new destinations to its portfolio and a massive new village to its flagship property.

Executive Chairman Adam Stewart shared that the growth is a direct response to how we travel now. "We know that now, more than ever, families are prioritizing connection and seeking enriching, multigenerational vacations," Stewart said. For travelers, this means more options for those milestone reunions and "skip-gen" trips where the grandparents take the kids.

Where the New Magic is Happening

The expansion covers three of the most sought-after islands in the Caribbean, each offering a slightly different vibe for families:

  • Beaches Barbados: Marking the brand's debut on the island, this resort will soon break ground. It’s designed in a grand "Bajan Style" and will feature a dedicated "Main Street" center for shopping, dining, and outdoor performances.
  • Beaches Exuma, The Bahamas: Taking over the current Sandals Emerald Bay site, this will be the first Beaches in the Bahamas. The real star here is the water—Exuma is famous for having the clearest blues in the world—but families will also appreciate the Greg Norman-designed golf course and 12 on-site restaurants.
  • Beaches Runaway Bay, Jamaica: Located on the lush northern coast, this resort is leaning into the "active family" trend with skateboarding, bike trails, a climbable treehouse, and organic farm-to-table dining.

A Massive Upgrade for Turks and Caicos

For fans of the original flagship, the wait for more space is over. Beaches Turks and Caicos is currently accepting reservations for its brand-new Treasure Beach Village. This addition brings 101 new suites to the property, including four-bedroom villas that can sleep up to 10 guests. It also introduces a first-of-its-kind international food hall and the fan-favorite Butch’s Island Chophouse to the Beaches brand.

While the brand is growing, the core "Beaches DNA" remains the same: kids discover magic with the Sesame Street crew, while parents get some much-needed peace of mind thanks to certified nannies and the brand's groundbreaking Autism Program. As Stewart put it, the goal is simply to "wow them with new product offerings and provide unforgettable shared experiences."

1970 First Meeting of Daytime’s Most Iconic Supercouple Happened 56 Years Ago Today

Thu, 05/07/2026 - 5:00am

On this day in 1970, one of television's most enduring romances began on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives as Julie Olsen (Then Banning) (Susan Seaforth Hayes) met reformed bad-boy Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).

Prior to the episode, Julie’s rival and former best friend, Susan Martin (Denise Alexander), had met Doug, who was targeting Susan to get a hold of her late husband's inheritance. Susan saw through his scheme, but saw an opportunity to cause drama. She agreed to pay Doug in order to have an affair with Julie and wreck her life.

Thus, on May 7, 1970, Susan brought her new ‘friend’ Doug to Julie and her then-husband Scott Banning’s apartment and made the introduction. Doug introduces himself to Julie and, after meeting her son, David Banning, eventually asks for a tour of her home.

Off-Screen, Bill and Susan embarked on a romance of their own, with the pair ultimately marrying in 1974.

On screen, as the story developed, Doug and Julie are credited with becoming one of television's first ‘super couples.’ Their romance skyrocketed the show in popularity, with the Hayses dawning the cover of Time Magazine with the headline "Sex and suffering in the afternoon.”

Their romance wasn't without its share of tribulations, including Doug marrying and impregnating Julie's mother Addie Horton (Patricia Barry). But ultimately, their love overcame every obstacle.

The pair remained on the soap opera together until 1984, until the show decided to make a shift to go after a younger direction. Ultimately, Doug and Julie would make additional appearances throughout the following years, before ultimately returning on a more regular basis in 1999.

The Hayes's remained acting together until Bill’s death in 2024. The show eventually wrote Bill out of the series in November of 2024, when Doug died on Thanksgiving, surrounded by family and friends.
