Happy Father's Day From Music's Best Father-Son Duos
Some of the most loved and celebrated musicians also get to join in on the festivities this Father's Day with musical children of their own. It's often the case that incredible talent can transcend generations and carry on into the next generation of stars.
In honor of Father's Day, let's take a look at some of music's most iconic fathers and sons.
Willie and Lukas NelsonOf Willie Nelson's two musical sons, Lukas Nelson seems to have followed in his father's footsteps the closest. The two have been consistently touring together every year for the Outlaw Festival tour, a recurring summer event that sees the whole family get together for a musical celebration.
Lukas Nelson has carved a really nice career for himself, whether that was touring with Neil Young as his backing band, creating some great solo material, or carrying on the legacy of his father's music at his great live shows, he is a true country star who has set himself apart from his dad in his own special way.
Bob and Jakob DylanWhile they have never performed on the same stage together, there is no doubt that Bob Dylan's mark has been left on his son Jakob Dylan, lead singer of The Wallflowers. Jakob Dylan came to prominence in the '90s with the huge success of his band. The rough around the edges style that the band perfected is shades of Dylan with its sonic honesty.
Currently, The Wallflowers are on tour celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of their fantastic hit album "Bringing Down The Horse." I have a soft spot for this record. It has the two biggest hits of Jakob Dylan's career with "One Headlight" and "6th Avenue Heartache," but also has so many great songs. The closing track "I Wish I Felt Nothing" is a fantastic song that everyone should check out.
Eddie and Wolfgang Van HalenWith Eddie Van Halen no longer with us, his son Wolfgang Van Halen has been carrying on the legacy of guitar wizardry to this day. For a long time, Wolf was a core member of Van Halen during their years as a legacy act, filling in as the band's bass player.
Nowadays, Wolf is touring a successful solo act called Mammoth, where he plays every single instrument on the studio records. The talent from his dad was not lost, as he is a master of all instruments he plays. Whether its concert footage with his dad, his solo records, or the many live performances he has featured in with other iconic musicians, WVH is always shredding the family way.
There are countless other incredible families the music industry has given us. We'd like to wish a happy Father's Day to all the musical fathers out there and the great talent we've been granted over the years.

'Diary of a CEO' Host Steven Bartlett's Latest Confession Has People Questioning His Self-Optimization Obsession
Steven Bartlett has built an empire around self-improvementâand recently, his podcast sparked heated debate after Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary's comments about Gen Z spending habits divided the internet. Now, Bartlett himself is finding his approach to health and productivity under scrutiny.
According to an analysis published by RTĂ, the Diary of a CEO host has become an unlikely symbol of extreme wellness culture after revealing that three glasses of wine disrupted his sleep, eating habits and exercise routine for daysâa revelation that has sparked ridicule and renewed debate over the growing obsession with tracking every aspect of life.

Three Glasses of Wine Set Off a Domino EffectThe comments came during an interview with podcaster Chris Williamson, where Bartlett described how a seemingly ordinary night of drinking affected him far beyond the next morning.
According to RTĂ, Bartlett said that although he never became drunk, the alcohol set off a chain reaction that impacted several areas of his life.
He explained that he slept poorly, made worse food choices the next day, performed less effectively while recording podcasts, and skipped the gym for two days afterward.
Bartlett said he was able to track the effects through his Whoop wearable, a fitness device that monitors health metrics and one in which he has invested.
The comments quickly attracted mockery online, with critics suggesting they reflected an unhealthy obsession with self-optimization. Others saw them as emblematic of a growing "tech bro" culture focused on maximizing sleep, exercise and productivity through data tracking.
RTĂ noted that the reaction transformed Bartlett into something of a figurehead for the trend, with some questioning whether relentless self-improvement can become self-defeating.

Success and Controversy Have Long Followed the Podcast StarBartlett, who co-founded Social Chain before launching The Diary of a CEO in 2017, has become one of the most influential podcasters in the world. The show reportedly reaches around 50 million listeners each month and has featured guests ranging from Michelle Obama to Richard Branson.
But with that success has come controversy.
RTĂ highlighted previous criticism surrounding advertising disclosures and concerns over guests who have promoted controversial views on health and nutrition. Some experts have also accused the podcast of amplifying misinformation by giving extreme opinions a massive platform without sufficiently challenging them.
More recently, critics have taken issue with what they see as Bartlett's embrace of hyper-optimization culture. The irony, some observers noted, is that a philosophy designed to improve quality of life can sometimes appear to do the opposite.
For Bartlett, however, openness about his routines and struggles has long been central to the appeal of Diary of a CEO. And judging by the reaction to his wine confession, even three glasses can keep people talking long after the buzz wears off.
'80s Heavy Metal Band Releases New Song Ahead of 50th Anniversary
Accept is kicking off its 50th anniversary celebration with a tribute to one of the songs that helped define its legacy.
The German heavy metal pioneers have released a new version of "Fast as a Shark," the first single from the upcoming anniversary collection Teutonic Titans 1976â2026. The reimagined track features an all-star lineup of guest musicians, including Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett, Mikkey Dee and Billy Sheehan, and serves as the first preview of the band's milestone release.
"Our first single, Fast as a Shark from the upcoming 50th Anniversary release Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 features none other than Metal Icons: Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett, Mikkey Dee and Billy Sheehan," the band wrote on Instagram. "Its feedback and reception has been mind blowing."
Originally released in 1982 on Accept's landmark album Restless and Wild, "Fast as a Shark" is widely regarded as one of the songs that helped lay the foundation for speed metal. Its blistering tempo, aggressive riffs and relentless energy pushed the boundaries of heavy music at a time when the genre was rapidly evolving, influencing countless bands that followed.
Formed in Germany in 1976, Accept emerged as one of the defining acts of European heavy metal during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Albums including Breaker, Restless and Wild, Balls to the Wall and Metal Heart established the band as a global force, while songs such as "Balls to the Wall," "Princess of the Dawn" and "Fast as a Shark" became staples of the genre.
The upcoming Teutonic Titans 1976â2026 collection celebrates five decades of Accept's career, revisiting the music that helped shape heavy metal while bringing together some of the genreâs most respected musicians to honor the band's influence.
"It's really still very much like it always was," guitarist Wolf Hoffman to Louder. "You pack your gear, you get the guys together, and you travel to wherever you have to travel, and you play your songs in front of an audience, and that's pretty much like it always was. And that's great. I think the experience of a live show has as much value, or maybe even more value than it ever did because of all the digital digitization."
Nearly 50 years after first forming, Accept continues to look both backward and forward. With a landmark anniversary album on the way and a new version of one of its most influential songs already generating excitement, the band is proving its legacy remains as powerful as ever.

'What the F---, Dude?' Joe Rogan Recalls Donald Trump's Wild Reply to Terror Attack Fears
Joe Rogan is making headlines again after recently finding himself at the center of speculation about a possible future in television news, as a replacement for Anderson Cooper on CBS News. Now, the podcast host and UFC commentator is looking back on a conversation with Donald Trump that left him completely caught off guard.
According to a report by The Daily Beast, the podcast host and UFC commentator recounted a surprising exchange with the president during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, revealing Trump's blunt response after Rogan admitted he was worried about a possible terrorist attack during the White House's UFC Freedom 250 event.

Joe Rogan Says Trump Shrugged Off His ConcernsÂRogan reflected on the June 14 event, which took place on the White House South Lawn as part of celebrations marking Trump's 80th birthday and the nation's 250th anniversary.
Speaking with guests Trevor Wittman and UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje, Rogan recalled bringing up his fears directly to the president.
"I said to Trump, 'I hope we don't die in a terrorist attack,'" Rogan remembered. According to the longtime UFC commentator, Trump responded with surprising calm. âWe gotta go somehow.â
Rogan burst out laughing while recounting the exchange and remembered his immediate reaction.
âWhat the f---, dude?âÂ
His guests admitted they had similar concerns heading into the event. Wittman confessed that he had been "honestly really nervous," while Gaethje joked that if something happened while he was fighting, "how f---ing legendary would that be?"
The concerns weren't entirely new for Rogan. Back in March, he publicly acknowledged that holding a major event at the White House amid tensions involving Iran seemed unusual.
"I know it's going to be very high-security and high stress and weird to have a fight at the White House in the middle of a f---ing war," he said at the time, adding that he hoped the situation would be resolved by June.

Rogan Ultimately Called the Event âThe Wildest ExperienceâDespite his apprehension, Rogan ultimately described UFC Freedom 250 as the most memorable event of his broadcasting career. "That was the wildest experience that I've ever had in my 20-whatever years of calling combat sports," he said. "There's nothing even close."
He went on to call it "the greatest night of fights of all time," noting that every bout on the card ended by knockoutâsomething he said had never happened before.
The event itself proved unlike anything the sport had seen, with fights staged on the White House lawn and Rogan serving as both commentator and master of ceremonies throughout the evening. Looking back on the spectacle, Rogan said the experience left him feeling unexpectedly patriotic.
"I felt so American," he said.
While Trump's response to his fears may have initially left him speechless, Rogan ultimately walked away with memories of what he described as an unforgettable night and the most extraordinary event he has witnessed in more than two decades covering combat sports.Â

Which '80s Cars Are the Most Iconic?AmericanMuscle Marketing Director Paul Knoll describes the 1980s as "one of the most important periods in automotive history."
"In addition to the desire for increased horsepower, consumers demanded more style, technology, status and reliability," he says. "As such, models such as the Fox Body Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z, BMW 3 series and Mercedes-Benz W126 became cultural icons of their respective eras."
The '80s were characterized by a "period of innovation," per Knoll, who shares that cars "developed new designs (sharper lines), engines (turbocharging), interior features (digital dashboard) and combined performance and luxury elements."
"Automobiles produced during this time were a reflection of the identity and ambitions of the era. They did not simply serve as means of transportation," he states.
Robert M. Kennedy, a car collector, auto expert and author of Mustang Unbridled: The High-Octane History of Fordâs Legendary Pony Car, notes that other iconic '80s cars include the Ferrari F40, Porsche 959, DeLorean DMC-12, Ferrari Testarossa, Buick Grand National/GNX and Audi Quattro.
What Cars Did Most People Drive in the 1980s?Oftentimes, the cars people drive the most are daily drivers and not expensive sports cars. In the '80s, Knoll says, everyday people were searching for "a practical and reasonably priced model."
Examples included the Honda Accord, Toyota Corolla, Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Celebrity and Volkswagen Golf.
"Following the fuel shortages experienced in the 1970s, issues related to fuel economy, dependability and comfort became increasingly important considerations for automobile owners," he tells Parade. "Additionally, the introduction of Japanese automobile manufacturers dramatically altered consumer perceptions concerning quality and lifespan. The 1980s also provided a split between cars that served as daily practical transportation vehicles and performance vehicles in which consumers desired to aspire towards owning."
Kennedy adds that some other popular cars of the '80s included the Ford F-Series, Escort and Taurus, Chrysler K-cars and minivans and Chevrolet C/K Series trucks.

Knoll describes the Mercedes-Benz W126 S-Class as "the pinnacle of executive luxury in the 1980s."
"The W126 was designed to an unprecedented standard and became the status symbol of professionals and celebrities," he says of the 1980s Mercedes.
2. BMW M3 (E30)shaunl/Getty Images
Knoll says the BMW M3 (E30) "defined the modern sports sedan" and was a popular '80s BMW.
"It offered a combination of luxury, performance and comfort unmatched by its competitors," he says.
Per Kennedy, the popular car was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
"BMWâs 1986 M3 was built to satisfy homologation requirements for the famed marque to compete in Germanyâs popular DTM race series," he explains. "Though not as competitive as Audiâs Quattro in rally racing, the original M3s excelled at endurance races at Spa and the NĂŒrburgring, developing a devoted fanbase along the way."
3. Ford Mustang GT 5.0Different_Brian/Getty Images
If you owned a 1980s Mustang, there's a good chance that it was a 5.0 model.
"5.0 Mustangs (and their Mercury Capri cousins) were the perfect antagonists to GMâs Camaro and Firebird duo," Kennedy shares. "Ford also offered an SVO Mustang with a turbo four cylinder similar to that of the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, but 5.0 LX and GT sales remained decisively dominant."

4. Ferrari F40Martyn Lucy/Getty Images
Released in 1987, the Ferrari F40 had a 471-hp twin-turbo V-8 paired to a five-speed transaxle, Kennedy tells Parade.
"Though not as technologically advanced as the Porsche, its 201 mph top speed ensured its place in history as the single most coveted car of the â80s," Kennedy says.
5. Chevrolet Camaro IROC-ZJohn Prieto/The Denver Post via Getty Images
"Aggressive styling and substantial V8 power meant the IROC-Z had presence on the streets and became one of the iconic muscle cars of the MTV era," Knoll states.
6. Lamborghini CountachSjo/Getty Images
"Wedge-shaped with scissor doors and futuristic styling, the Countach became one of the most sought-after bedroom posters of all time," Knoll shares.Â
Kennedy says the car, which debuted in the '70s, soared in popularity in the '80s.
7. DeLorean DMC-12Beata Zawrzel/NurPhoto via Getty Images
If you've ever seen Back to the Future, you know how iconic the DeLorean DMC-12 was in the '80s.
"Though it came and went from the marketplace in the blink of an eye, it was Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloydâs time-traveling adventures in this gull-winged sports coupe that forever etched its stainless steel silhouette into history as one of the most iconic â80s cars," Kennedy says.
8. Porsche 959John Keeble/Getty Images
"At a glance, the uninformed may have thought it was a 911 Turbo with a wide-body kit," Kennedy says. "However, the 959 was a groundbreaking supercar with a 444-hp twin-turbo flat-six engine, six-speed transaxle and all-wheel drive. When it was released in 1986, its top speed of 197 mph briefly qualified it as the fastest street-legal production car on the planet."
9. Chevrolet Corvette C4Mike Powell/Allsport/Getty Images
"Futuristic in appearance and technological capabilities, the C4 Corvette was the true evolution of America's sports car into the modern age," Knoll tells Parade.
Per Kennedy, the 1984 Corvette "saw its sales more than double" as its popularity skyrocketed.
10. Ford Mustang (Fox Body)Kukurund/Getty Images
"Lightweight, inexpensive and infinitely customizable, the Fox Body Mustang was the performance bargain of the decade and played a huge role in reviving American muscle," Knoll states.

11. Ford Bronco IIDifferent_Brian/Getty Images
"They say, 'bigger is better,' but that's not always the case in the auto industry. Ford nearly tripled Mustang sales when it released the smaller, lighter and more economical Mustang II in 1974," Kennedy states. "Likewise, the smaller, lighter and more economical Bronco II sold twice as many units from 1984-1990 as its larger, heavier namesake."
12. Buick Grand National GNXDifferent_Brian/Getty Images
"While Camaro, Firebird, Mustang and Capri duked it out on dragstrips with their small-block V-8s, Buick presented a compelling argument that a turbocharged V-6 could be every bit as authoritative," Kennedy explains. "Grand Nationals quickly built a cult following, but when ASC/McLaren worked its magic to produce an ultimate version, dubbed 'GNX,' they created one of the most desirable and collectible muscle cars of the â80s."
13. Ferrari TestarossaNational Motor Museum/Heritage Images/Getty Images
"Stylish looks and frequent appearances in movies made the Testarossa one of the most recognizable supercars, perfectly embodying the excess of the 1980s era," Knoll shares.
Per Kennedy, Miami Vicehelped elevate the car to "true icon status."
"Exploding into pop culture with a set of 12 cylinders, pop-up headlights and huge side strakes, the Testarossa was everything an â80s Ferrari should be," he says.
14. Dodge DaytonaDenver Post via Getty Images
"Turbocharged and tuned by Shelby, the Dodge Daytona showed Chrysler's ability to offer affordable performance with truly advanced engineering," Knoll says.
15. Toyota MR2PA Images via Getty Images
Kennedy describes the 1985 Toyota MR2 as a "sporty two-seater."
"Its 1.6-liter dual-overhead cam engine produced 112 horses, providing it with significantly quicker acceleration than the Honda CRX. And its mid-engine design yielded particularly agile handling, to boot," he says.
16. Honda CRXLAT Images/Getty Images
"The Honda CRX arrived from Japan as a supremely economical, yet sporty, front-wheel-drive (FWD) subcompact," Kennedy points out. "The 1.3- and 1.5-liter four-cylinder engines in these tiny two-seaters may have only produced 60-76 hp but, thanks to their five-speed transmissions, could also achieve north of 50 mpg."
17. Audi QuattroNational Motor Museum/Heritage Images/Getty Images
"In 1965, Ford considered producing a high-performance Mustang with all-wheel drive to improve traction, handling and acceleration. But with their new pony car selling so well so quickly, they chose not to invest in the advanced driveline technology," Kennedy explains. "Audi took up that challenge. Its quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system dominated rally racing and proved such an enormous success for the German manufacturer that all their AWD vehicles to this day wear the Quattro badge."
18. Acura LegendBrittany Murray/MediaNews Group/Long Beach Press-Telegram via Getty Images
"The Acura Legend represented one of the first serious attempts by a Japanese brand to compete in the luxury market, helping pave the way for Lexus and Infiniti," Knoll says.
19. Pontiac FieroNational Motor Museum/Heritage Images via Getty Images
Kennedy says the Pontiac Fiero debuted at roughly the same time as the Honda CRX and Toyota MR2.
"It lit a fire among enthusiasts and commuters alike (even pacing the Indy 500 in 1984)," he shares. "Unfortunately, that fire would occasionally prove literal. Over the Fieroâs life, GM implemented improvements to its original four-cylinder engine, shoehorned a V-6 into Pontiacâs sporty two-seat 'commuter' car and even introduced a genuinely attractive fastback body for its GT models. Alas, the Fieroâs initial popularity still flamed out."
20. Toyota CelicaKen Goff/Getty Images

1976 'Days of Our Lives' Debut Formed the Most Resilient Icon in TV History
Fifty years ago today, on June 21, 1976, daytime icon Deidre Hall made her debut on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives, changing the trajectory of daytime television forever.
Hallâs first episode introduced Marlena to the canvas as a psychiatrist who had been called in to work on a case. She was first seen working with Mickey Horton (John Clarke), who was spending time at Bayview Sanitarium after a severe mental breakdown following the revelation that his brother Bill (Edward Mallory) actually fathered his son Mike with his wife Laura, causing Mickey to shoot Bill in the arm and attempt to strangle his ex-lover, Linda (Nadyne Turney).
According to Days of Our Lives historian Jason 47, Hallâs first episode, #2667, was filmed just 11 days prior to her debut on June 10, 1967. In a script obtained by Jason 47, Marlene Evans (the original spelling of the character) is described as âan independent, intelligent young woman whose career as a psychiatrist never interferes with her life as a woman. Her success is due to her penetrating perception and compassion for people. She is every inch the professional.â
Over the next fifty years, Hall would become one of the most recognizable faces in daytime. Her electric chemistry made each of her major pairings more successful than the last. Her first major relationship was with Don Craig (Jed Allen).
One of Hallâs most famous storylines was a result of this relationship, as their child, Don Jr. (D.J.), died of crib death. Reflecting on the story, Hall told TVSourceMagazine that the series didnât promote the death prior to its airing.
âWhat was decided in the moment was that when a woman comes in and finds that baby, she doesnât get a warning. She walks into it. The decision was to let that happen to Marlena, and I thought that was beyond wise and disturbing⊠but beyond wise. â
DAYS OF OUR LIVES -- Pictured: (l-r) Matthew Paul Bischof as Don Craig Jr., Jed Allen as Don Craig, Deidre Hall as Marlena Craig -- (Photo by: Gary Null/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images)She explained that once the series aired, the audience reaction was nothing short of astonishing. âWe got an enormous amount of calls at that point. There was such an outpouring of people who trusted us with that part of their lives and hung in there with us. I was just so impressed with our ability to do that for our audience.â
In 1982, viewers believed Marlena had been killed off by the Salem Strangler; the cliffhanger angered fans. Little did they know it was actually Marlenaâs identical twin sister, Samantha (played by Hallâs real-life identical twin), who died.
Viewers were so riled up and demanding the show reverse their decision that they began picketing in front of the studio. Hall recalled this moment last year with TVInsider, sharing, âI was at work that day, and Al Rabin (executive producer) knocked on the door, and he said, âThere is apparently a picket line around the studio about you being killed off.â I said, âWow, what?ââ
She explained that the episode had already aired in New York, and fans reached out to their Los Angeles family and friends, who immediately started circling the studio. Hall and Rabin discussed her options to leave at that point, as viewers who saw her would know she was at work and ruin the surprise, but ultimately, the decision was made to have her go out and meet with the fans. âAl decided it was worth the risk of that knowledge, so I went out and met with fans. It was a simpler time; secrets were secrets, and storylines stayed mysterious and werenât being leaked, so you could surprise an audience.â
Following Marlenaâs relationship with Don Craig, she had two other notable romances. First with Roman Brady (Wayne Northrop) and then with the other Roman Brady, later John Black, played by Drake Hogestyn.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES -- "Marlena Evans & Roman Brady Wedding" -- Pictured: (l-r) Marilyn McCoo as Tamara Price, Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans, Drake Hogestyn as John Black/Roman Brady -- (Photo by: Alice S. Hall/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images)Hall previously shared with TVSourceMagazine that her 1986 wedding to John, then believed to be Roman, was her favorite. âLee Smith designed an extraordinary headpiece; we didnât want a veil because it wasnât quite appropriate to have one, but it had these amazing cut-out sleeves with cut-outs on the side with a lovely little train. I just adored it.â
Over the years, Hall has appeared in over 5,000 episodes and created countless memories for fans. From her stints being possessed by the devil to murdering half of Salem's most beloved characters, only for them to be alive on an island, Hallâs performance and storylines throughout the years have been directly correlated with not only its remaining popularity but its survival in the Nielsen ratings and ultimately still being on the air today.
Having been kidnapped over 33 times, 18 on-screen weddings, two devil possessions, one stint as a serial killer, and countless memories, fans will forever be appreciative of the hard work and dedication that Hall has brought to the character of Marlena Evans and look forward to many more memories in the years to come.
The Album That Launched the Folk-Rock Revolution Dropped 61 Years Ago Today
In 1965, a young Los Angeles band took a Bob Dylan song, added ringing electric guitars and soaring harmonies, and helped change popular music forever.
Released on June 21, 1965, the Byrds' debut album Mr. Tambourine Man is widely regarded as the record that launched the folk-rock revolution, creating a sound that blended the lyrical sophistication of folk music with the energy and accessibility of rock and roll.
The album's title track had already become a sensation before the LP arrived. Released as the Byrds' debut single in April 1965, their version of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. singles chart, making it the first Dylan composition to top a major pop chart.
Roger McGuinn's jangly 12-string Rickenbacker guitar became the song's signature sound, while the group's layered harmonies helped create a template that countless artists would follow. The record's success sparked a folk-rock boom on both sides of the Atlantic and influenced everyone from Simon & Garfunkel and the Mamas & the Papas to later acts like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, R.E.M., the Smiths and the Bangles.
The song itself had an equally fascinating history. Dylan wrote "Mr. Tambourine Man" in 1964 and included it on his March 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. While Dylan's original featured four verses and an acoustic arrangement, the Byrds streamlined the song into a concise pop single, using just one verse and emphasizing electric guitars and vocal harmonies.
According to accounts from the era, Dylan was impressed when he first heard the Byrds' interpretation. "Wow, you can dance to that!" he reportedly said after hearing the group's electric reworking of the song.
The influence worked both ways. Music historians have long noted that the Byrds' success with "Mr. Tambourine Man" helped encourage Dylan's own move toward electric instrumentation in 1965, culminating in the release of "Like a Rolling Stone" and his famously controversial electric performance at the Newport Folk Festival later that summer.
More than six decades later, both Dylan's original version and the Byrds' cover remain celebrated as classics. Each has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, while the Byrds' recording continues to be recognized as one of the most influential singles ever released.

This Is the Best Breakfast for Liver Health, According to a Hepatologist
Although no one can live without a functioning liver, itâs an organ thatâs easy to take for granted. You donât feel it working the way you feel your heartbeat increase during an intense workout, or see the fruits of its labor like you do with the digestive system.
But rest assured that while you go about your day, your liver is hard at work doing tasks such as clearing toxins from your blood, producing bile that helps you digest what you eat and providing the body with energy.
Itâs also easy to miss if the health of your liver is being compromised, until itâs in pretty rough shape. Between 32% and 42% of adults in the U.S. have metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), formally called nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. According to a scientific article published in Hepatology Communications, more than 95% of people with MASLD donât know they have it.
Related: The 'Healthy' Food That's Silently Damaging Your Liver, According to a Hepatologist
When MASLD isnât treated, it can progress from fat buildup to severe, irreversible liver damage, which can lead to liver failure or liver cancer. This is why having a diet that supports liver health is crucialâfor everyone.
The good news is that eating for liver health isnât complicated. The same foods that benefit the rest of the body (including the heart, brain and gut) are good for your liver. That means eating a lot of fiber-rich foods, lean or plant-based proteins and complex carbohydrates, while minimizing ultra-processed foods high in sodium or added sugar.
Breakfast is the first opportunity of the day to support your liver through what you eat. With that in mind, we asked a hepatologist to share the absolute best breakfast for liver health.Â
Related: Tips for a Healthy Liver: What Experts Recommend for Optimal Liver Function
The Best Breakfast for Liver HealthMany delicious breakfast foods support liver health, but when asked what the absolute best breakfast for liver health is, Dr. Susan Kais, MD, a gastroenterologist, hepatologist and associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Cincinnati, recommended a combination of eggs and oats.
âIf I had to recommend one breakfast for liver health, I would definitely suggest a combination of eggs and a bowl of oatmeal topped with fresh berries, along with a sprinkle of nuts or seeds,â she says.Â
Related: This Is the #1 Most Important Habit for Liver Health, According to a Hepatologist
Eggs are rich in protein (which provides the body with energy and is important for satiety) as well as choline, which supports liver function. âPairing that with oatmeal not only adds fiber to your diet, but also helps in reducing fat accumulation in the liver and helps regulate blood sugar and cholesterol,â Dr. Kais says. To this point, scientific research shows that a high-fiber diet decreases the risk of MASLD.
The berries that Dr. Kais recommends adding to the oatmeal are rich in antioxidants, which help prevent liver inflammation and prevent fat buildup. Nuts and seeds are high in antioxidants too, and they have protein and unsaturated fats. According to scientific research, unsaturated fats lower overall fat content in the liver and reduce the risk of MASLD and even help reverse it.Â
Other Breakfasts That Support Liver HealthEggs and oatmeal with berries and nuts certainly isnât the only breakfast that supports liver health. Dr. Kais says that avocado toast or whole grain toast with hummus are both full of liver-supporting nutrients. âAvocado is packed with healthy fats and fiber, which can help reduce liver fat and improve overall liver function,â she says. She adds that, similarly, hummus also has protein and fiber. âThis combination can help with liver detoxification and support healthy digestion."
Smoothies made with leafy greens are another great breakfast option, according to Dr. Kais. âBlending up a smoothie with leafy greens like spinach or kale provides vital nutrients and antioxidants. These greens are known for their detoxifying properties and can help reduce inflammation in the liver,â she says.
Wondering what the worst breakfast foods for liver health are? Anything ultra-processed should be a no-go, according to Dr. Kais, because ultra-processed foods are typically high in added sugars and are calorie-dense, which can lead to fat buildup in the liver over time. While sugary cereals and pastries may be tasty, they offer little in terms of nutrient value.
âAnother group to watch out for is breakfast sandwiches made with processed meats like bacon, sausage and deli meats, which often contain unhealthy fats and preservatives,â Dr. Kais says, explaining that when eaten regularly, these foods can lead to weight gain, which is not ideal for liver health.

What To Pair With Your Breakfast for Extra Liver Health BenefitsWhat you drink in the morning impacts the liver just as much as what you eat. Good news for coffee drinkers: Dr. Kais notes that coffee is a great morning beverage for liver health, as long as you donât add sugar to it. âRegular coffee consumption is associated with lower rates of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis," she says.
Dr. Kais explains that coffee contains several active phytochemicals that fight oxidative stress, reduce inflammation and slow the buildup of liver scar tissue. âThese natural compounds work together to protect the liver cells from damage and disease progression. One of the key benefits comes from coffee's ability to reduce inflammation and increase levels of a powerful antioxidant called glutathione, which helps detoxify the liver. It also appears to protect liver cells from damage, which is a major plus,â she says, adding that coffee can enhance the metabolism of fats in the liver, potentially reducing the risk of fat buildup, which is another way it supports liver health.Â
More of a tea drinker? Tea is another morning drink that supports liver health (again, as long as itâs sugar-free). Dr. Kais explains that teas contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that may help protect the liver cells from damage and support overall metabolic health.
Taking a morning turmeric shot is another way to support your liver, Dr. Kais says. She explains that turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and can boost liver function.
One popular morning drink that isnât as beneficial for liver health as many people think is fruit juice, including orange juice. âFruit juice is one of those things that sounds inherently healthy because it comes from fruit, but from a liver health perspective, the answer is more complicated,â Dr. Kais says. She explains that fruit juice doesnât have the beneficial fiber that whole fruits has. This means that it can spike blood sugar levels. Because of this, itâs better to eat your fruit instead of drinking it.Â
When deciding what to eat in the morning to support your liver, choose whole foods over ultra-processed ones and aim for a balance of protein, fiber, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats. And if youâre a coffee drinker, enjoy your brew knowing itâs doing your liver a whole lot of good.

Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 at the age of 76. Since this is the first Father's Day since his passing, his daughter Kelly posted an emotional tribute to him on social media. Her post included several throwback photos of the star with her as she was growing up.
The accompanying caption said, âDad, I still find myself looking for you in ordinary moments, the advice I need, the joke I want to tell, the victory I wish you could see. The ache of missing you is the price of loving you, and I would pay it forever rather than have never been your child at all! I will never stop missing you. It is an honor to spend the rest of my life loving you. Until we meet again!â The post ended with a red heart.

The 41-year-old also spoke about losing her father earlier this year after comments circulated about her weight loss. âFirst, I want to start by saying I received so many lovely, lovely, lovely comments from people that have really helped me get through this time in my life since losing my father,â she posted to her Instagram in December of 2025, as reported by Just Jared.
Then she went on to address the haters, saying, "I'm just here to say, what do you expect from me? What do you expect me to look like right now? The fact that I'm getting out of bed and facing my life and trying to be more than enough, I should be commended for that. You say that I look ill. Well, I am ill right now. My life is completely flipped upside down. I donât understand how people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is just fine in my life when itâs not.â
â80s Metal Legend Falls Off Stage Mid-Show
Metallica fans got an unexpected scare during the band's concert in Dublin, Ireland, when guitarist Kirk Hammett took a tumble off the stage mid-song.
The incident happened Friday, June 19, during the band's performance at Aviva Stadium. Hammett was playing Metallica's classic 1983 track "Seek & Destroy" when he appeared to lose his footing near the edge of the stage and fell into the crowd below.
Fan-shot videos quickly made the rounds online, showing the 63-year-old musician disappearing from view as shocked fans reached out toward him. According to reports, the mishap occurred after Hammett stepped onto a stage cover that unexpectedly gave way beneath him.
Fortunately, the fall didn't keep him down for long. While he briefly missed part of the song, Hammett quickly got back on his feet and continued performing, helping Metallica close out the first of two Dublin shows on their ongoing M72 World Tour.
The guitarist later showed he was taking the whole thing in stride. Sharing footage of the moment to his Instagram Story, Hammett jokingly renamed the song "Slip & Destroy."
View this post on InstagramFans were relieved to see the metal legend walk away uninjured.
âIs the guitar ok? đ€ But seriously I hope Kirk is alright after that fall,â one commented on an Instagram video of the moment.
Another wrote, âAnd still rocked the f**k on.â
âBut he kept fucking going fair play to him, legend,â a third said.

Hammettâs fall comes during a week that has seen another veteran rock stars experience a scary onstage incident.
That same day Rod Stewartsparked concern after appearing unsteady during a concert in Utah. Fan footage showed the 81-year-old singer leaning on equipment for support before crew members brought an oxygen tank onto the stage. After taking a few breaths, Stewart told the crowd "the show must go on" after he had "nearly fainted."
While Stewart's situation was linked to a recent string of health issues that forced him to postpone multiple performances, Hammett's fall appears to have been nothing more than an unfortunate accident.

A Legendary â80s Band Is Filming Their First Concert Film in Nearly a Decade
Iron Maiden, the iconic heavy metal band that exploded in popularity in the â80s, is about to record a concert film during their Run For Your Lives Tour. Billboard reported that the band is enforcing a phone-free area at their upcoming June 22 show in Paris at the La DĂ©fense Arena in order to capture footage for the new film.

The last time Iron Maiden released a concert film was in 2017 when they came out with The Book of Souls: Live Chapter. However, they released a documentary called Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition this May, which captured the bandâs rise to fame over the last five decades with old footage and interviews.
Meanwhile, the Run For Your Lives Tour film is going to include brand-new footage from their current tour. In preparation for filming, the bandâs social media recently posted a set of rules for the concert. âThe standing/General Admission area in La DĂ©fense Arena will be entirely phone-free to make sure the experience is optimal for the live recording of the Run For Your Lives Tour film,â it stated. âYondr pouches will be provided upon entry to the venue to store your mobile device during the show. Yondr pouches are lockable phone storage devices that you can carry around the concert with you, so you are never far away from your phone. All you have to do is turn your cell off (or put it in silent mode), then store it in the pouch to keep with you. That way, it will still be with you in case you need to use it during an emergency or if you want to use it in one of the phone-use areas, which will be available inside at the Paris concert.
If you want to see the band in person, Iron Maiden will be continuing their world tour until November 2026. Tickets are still available now.

Frasier's Jane Leeves on Why David Bowie Ransacked Her Purse
Before Daphne Moon, there was a 1920s flapper on a vampire movie set just outside London, and a rock legend who could not stop going through her handbag.
Jane Leeves, best known for her 11-year run as Daphne on Frasier, has been sharing stories from a career that predates the sitcom by more than a decade. On a recent episode of the podcast Dropping Names, hosted by Star Trek: The Next Generation veterans Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes, Leeves recalled spending time on the set of The Hunger, the 1983 gothic horror film directed by Tony Scott and starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. There's one detail about Bowie that she says is her favorite memory from the shoot.
'He went through the entire contents of my purse,' Leeves told the hosts.
The Hunger marked Tony Scott's feature directorial debut and remains a cult touchstone, celebrated for its moody visual style and the performances at its center. Leeves had been cast in a supporting role as a flapper from the 1920s, part of a couple that Deneuve and Bowie's vampire characters were watching as potential prey in a nightclub scene. The cast and crew had gathered at a house outside London for the shoot. During downtime, Bowie sat down near Leeves and, with her permission, began picking through everything in her bag, item by item.
'What is this and what is that?' she recalled him asking, curious about each object. When he found a small magnifying mirror, he was transfixed. There was no agenda to it, she said, just genuine fascination. 'He was just such a curious man,' Leeves said. 'He was a really, really sweet, sweet man.'
Leeves' scenes were ultimately cut from the finished film, which was released in April 1983. Her name does not appear in the credits. But the time she spent with Bowie on that shoot stayed with her. She also noted that Catherine Deneuve had a brief, low-voiced conversation with her makeup artist in French while looking in Leeves' direction. 'I don't know what she was saying,' she admitted. The Truth About the 1996 Country Classic Everyone Thought Was Written for Patsy Cline
LeAnn Rimes made "Blue" a country music classic. But the song's history stretches back long before the singer recorded it.
The heartbreak ballad was reportedly written with another legendary voice in mind.
Released in 1996, "Blue" became the breakout hit that introduced Rimes, 43, to millions of listeners and launched her career into the stratosphere. At just 13 years old, the Texas native stunned audiences with her mature vocals, drawing immediate comparisons to country icon Patsy Cline.
As it turns out, those comparisons weren't entirely coincidental.
According to some, songwriter Bill Mack originally wrote "Blue" decades earlier with Cline in mind. The story has become part of country music lore, with many fans believing the haunting ballad was specifically crafted for the "Crazy" singer before her tragic death in a 1963 plane crash.
But it's not true, according to Mack.
He wrote "Blue" after experimenting with note changes on a new guitar, recalling how the melody and lyrics came to him in about 15 minutes, and his wife immediately told him it was the best song she'd ever heard.
Hoping to turn it into a hit, Mack's friend Roy Drusky encouraged him to pitch the song to Cline. Mack gave a tape of the song to Cline's husband, Charlie Dick, but Cline died in a plane crash before she had the chance to record it.
Contrary to popular belief, Mack said in his autobiography, Bill Mack's Memories from the Trenches of Broadcasting, that he never specifically wrote the song for Cline. Â
So, Mack held onto the tune for decades before it eventually found its way to Rimes.
"Blue" became a major hit and helped turn Rimes into one of the biggest success stories of the 1990s. The song reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and earned Rimes a Grammy Award, making her one of the youngest Grammy winners in history.

Recently, shoppers have been warned about a sophisticated scam targeting Costco customers through seemingly legitimate order confirmation emails. According to reports shared online, scammers are exploiting authentic-looking Costco communications by inserting fake customer service numbers into order details.
The goal is to trick recipients into calling fraudulent support lines, where scammers may attempt to gain access to computers, financial information, or online accounts.Â
However, many Costco members seem far more focused on cookies than cybercrime, and, rightfully so.

On June 13, when appearing at the Storytellers event at Tribeca Festival, Springsteen received the Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award. As reported by PEOPLE, he spent time at the event speaking with Bono about his career and mentioned that the only Oscar he won was âkind of a fluke.â

âIt really was because Jonathan Demme called me up and said, 'I need a rock song for the movie I just made,ââ Springsteen explained. âAnd he told me a little bit about the film, and he sent me just an opening two minutes or so of it. I tried to write him a rock song when I just couldn't. So I went next door, and I had a little synthesizer and a little drum machine and [in] a couple of days I wrote the song."
Springsteen continued, âI sent it to him, and he roughed it into the film, and then I sent him a real version, and he threw that out and kept the rough version that I sent him, and then we won the Oscar."

The song is also included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll."
As Springsteen said, "It was really one of those things. If you do good things, good things happen. So Jonathan Demme, who is deeply missed and was a wonderful, wonderful man, incredible filmmaker, kind of invited me into his film, and I guess we lucked out.â
