Dunham let her red-hot dress shine by keeping her hair classic, having pulled her dark brown tresses into a relaxed updo. She looked fresh-faced with minimal makeup, and changed up her usual look by rocking bleached eyebrows.
She skipped jewelry, besides a pair of unique earrings, but added a little sparkle with a pair of red and gold Valentino Rockstud pumps. The look highlighted Dunham's many tattoos across her arms, shoulders, and back.

In Dunham's 2026 book Famesick, she revealed that she had "stopped being invited" to fashion's biggest night following complications during her last few appearances in 2017 and 2018. The first of the two ended with her hospitalization due to an endometriosis flare-up, and the second amid a 28-day stay at a rehabilitation program.
However, it was announced in December 2025 that not only would she be returning to the event in 2026, but that she would be on the host committee alongside stars likeSabrina Carpenter, Teyana Taylor, and Sam Smith.

"I love this theme; feels like it was tailor made for my passions, focused on the intersection of art and the body, and all the versions of what a fashionable body can be."
"In the years since I last attended, I’ve developed a new appreciation for what my body can do for me. Incredible athletic feats like…. getting up those steps in a low heel," she added, concluding, "See you in May."

1980 Rejected Rock Track Became a Grammy-Winning Hit Years Later Thanks to an ’80s Music Icon
On some occasions, it takes the right popular artist to make a track award-winning and successful on the global charts. In 1982, rock icon Pat Benatar turned a rejected track that was created for a film years earlier into one of her Grammy-winning hits.
By the '80s, Benatar was dominating the charts with signature hits like "Heartbreaker" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." Benatar would later release her fourth album, Get Nervous, in 1982, which included one of her hit tracks, "Shadows of the Night," that was written by composer D.L. Byron in 1980 for a film.
According to details behind the song, Byron had written the track for the film Times Square that focused on teenage runaways in New York City. It starred Trini Alvarado, Robin Johnson, andTim Curry in one of his earliest roles as a radio DJ. Byron's track was sadly rejected by the movie producers who felt it didn't have chart-topping potential. His own record label also didn't see a need to release the track as a single. "Shadows of the Night" was later recorded by Helen Schneider and Rachel Sweet in 1981, but received moderate success.
It wasn't until Benatar and her drummer, Myron Grombacher, reworked "Shadows of the Night" for her fourth album that it became a sensation. It landed at No. 3 on the Mainstream Rock charts and No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. While later becoming one of her hit tracks, it also won her a third Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1983.

"Shadows of the Night" didn't come without its challenges that ultimately led Benatar to have a rekindled respect for creativity. According to UltimateClassicRock, Benatar was going through a rough patch as her label was pushing her, and there were always new problems to dodge.
When it came to the track's music video, the idea of creating a World War II short feature film in the form of a music video didn't sit well with the higher-ups. Benatar and her band rallied behind the idea as a way to be creative and entertain. The singer admitted that the video storyline "wasn’t tied to the song or the message of the song, but that didn’t matter."
The music video also starred up-and-coming actors Bill Paxton andJudge Reinhold, who were "young Screen Actors Guild guys who were brought in for the day, just getting started in the business and taking what jobs they could find." She called having the actors on set "enlightening."
While "Shadows of the Night" wasn't her biggest chart-topping hit, she admits it was "such a seminal time for all of us. We were embarking on a new and historic venture, but I don’t think any of us grasped the significance of those days at the time. We were just having fun."
Naomi Osaka Switches Out of ‘Masterpiece’ Look Into Sparkly Second Gown at 2026 Met Gala
Naomi Osaka just proved she can serve on the tennis court and off it.
One of the most influential tennis players of her generation made a bold and fashionable appearance at the 2026 Met Gala.
The tennis star, who is a 4x Grand Slam champion and former No. 1 in women's singles, hit the Wisteria-draped red carpet in a larger-than-life look.
The 28-year-old donned an all-white Robert Wun dress with red feathered elements. It also included a matching headpiece designed by London miliner Awon Golding, per Towne & Country.

(Photo by Michael Buckner/Penske Media via Getty Images)Additionally, she paired the look with sheer red gloves, turning heads as she walked the red carpet during fashion's biggest night for the second time ever.
The outlet reports tha its rare for in-season players to attend the event, though she was a oo-chair at the 2021 Met Gala, held in September.
Fans praised the dress for fitting into the "Fashion is Art" dress code, with the theme "Costume Art" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's spring Costume Institute exhibition.
Despite arriving as one of the first on the carpet, many noted that she was in contention for the "best look" of the evening, as another added, "she's taking it."
"Loving the minor details so simple but so on theme," another commented on the choice, which was hailed as a "masterpiece."
There was also plenty of praise for Osaka's dedication to Wun, as she previously worked with the designer for her walk-on outfits at the Australian Open.
And just when fans thought they’d seen it all, Osaka raised the stakes, switching from her white look to a dazzling all-red gown with a sweeping train

'Heated Rivalry’ Star Connor Storrie Makes Bold Polka Dot Met Gala Debut
After days of fan speculation, Connor Storrie has officially made his Met Gala debut. Wearing a sleek black suit and an eye-catching polka dot scarf, the Heated Rivalry actor turned heads as he walked out of The Carlyle Hotel on the way to the gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The dress code for this year’s Met Gala is “Fashion Is Art,” and he aced the assignment. Storrie paired the black suit with a Tiffany & Co. Fleurage brooch, which features “a rubellite of over 3 carats and diamonds,” according to Town and Country. He also wore a ruby and diamond ring, two brooches and Tiffany huggie earrings.
John Nacion/Getty ImagesStorrie, known for his performance as Ilya Rozanov in Heated Rivalry, recently announced that he’s an ambassador with Tiffany & Co. In the announcement post, Storrie shared pictures of himself wearing a Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace.
“I’ll have Breakfast all over your Tiffany’s munch munch munch yum yum yum,” Storrie’s Heated Rivalry co-star, Hudson Williams, commented on his post.
Storrie attended Tiffany & Co.'s Blue Book event in April, donning gemstone brooches and diamond earrings. He also wore a Calvin Klein suit, which he swapped for an Anthony Vaccarello Saint Laurent suit for the Met Gala. Vaccarello signed Storrie to an exclusive deal and said to GQ during Paris Fashion Week, “I know everyone is fighting over him. And if you fight, I take."
John Nacion/Getty ImagesNot long after the sighting at The Carlyle Hotel, Storrie took off his suit jacket and made his official Met Gala debut. Wearing a sleeveless polka dot vest to pair with the scarf, Esquire called the actor "one of Gen Z's major fashion it-boys."
Before his walk down the Met Gala stairs, GQ spoke with Storrie and asked how he was feeling about the fashion event. He admitted that he wasn't nervous.
"I feel good. I mean, I love my look," Storrie told GQ. "I’m really happy with what Anthony [Vacarello] pulled together, and I’m really happy with the guidance and the ideas that James [Yardley] had. And it’s really cool to watch something start out as just a conversation and a concept and come to fruition. So I’m happy. I’m feeling confident. I love New York. I always love whenever I get the chance to be here."
Williams is also expected to arrive at the Met Gala. Known for his performance as Shane Hollander, this will be Williams' first public appearance since Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party on March 15. At the Oscars Party, Williams introduced his girlfriend, Katelyn Larson. While the couple is choosing to keep their relationship private, their red carpet pictures certainly turned heads.

When recalls hit our usual shopping spots, it's always a little unsettling. And when it affects two big retailers, like Walmart and Aldi, the recall covers an even larger number of consumers. Right now, there's a frozen pizza recall underway at both chains, though the items in question are sold under different labels and in different forms.
Food recalls usually begin when something triggers a safety alarm—such as routine testing, consumer complaints, reports of illness or manufacturing issues like contamination or undeclared allergens. Sometimes companies catch the problem themselves, while other times the FDA or USDA steps in.
😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔
At Aldi, the recall involves some Mamma Cozzi's pizzas that the grocer sells. Meanwhile, over at Walmart, there are varieties of the store's private-label Great Value and another brand, Culinary Circle, that are cause for concern.
USDA
According to the USDA, these pizzas were recalled because some of the dairy ingredients used in them, specifically those made with recalled dry milk powder, may be contaminated with salmonella, a bacterium that can cause serious foodborne illness.
How Was the Problem Discovered? The issue started when the FDA discovered the dry milk powder problem and alerted the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), which then traced where those potentially affected ingredients had been used in meat and poultry products, including certain frozen pizzas. In other words, this recall wasn't initially sparked by the pizzas themselves, but by a contaminated ingredient used somewhere along the production chain. Because more products could still be identified, officials are continuing to update the alert as they track where that recalled ingredient may have ended up.
Which Frozen Pizzas Are Involved in the May 2026 Recall? If you think you may have one or more of these items in your freezer right now, it's best to take a look at the variety names, lot codes and/or expiration dates to help you identify whether it's time to toss.
First up: Aldi. It has recalled Mama Cozzi's Biscuit Crust Sausage & Cheese Breakfast Pizza and Biscuit Crust Sausage, Bacon, Peppers & Onion Breakfast Pizza. Both carry best-by dates of Oct. 15, Oct. 21, Oct. 22, Oct. 23 or Oct. 24, 2026 (from products made between Feb. 17–26, 2026).
Over at Walmart, you're checking for Great Value Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza with best-by dates of either Oct. 9. 2026 or Nov. 7, 2026. The Great Value Stuffed Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza includes products with best-by dates of Oct. 25, Oct. 26, Nov. 8 and Dec. 9—all in 2026. Culinary Circle Ultra Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza is also part of the alert, with a lot code of WC103309 and a Best Buy date of Oct. 18. 2026.
If you'd like a full refund on the recalled product, take it back to the point of purchase to request one.

Nicole Kidman Makes Bold Met Gala Return in Fiery Red Dress After Keith Urban Divorce
All eyes were on Nicole Kidman as she made her way up the iconic Met Gala steps on Monday.
The actress stunned in a fiery—and feathery—red dress on May 4 at the annual fundraiser. The form-fitting look featured shimmering red sequins and dramatic feathered cuffs, while pairing the statement piece with art deco-inspired earrings and rings. Kidman rocked her long blonde hair sleek and straight for the occasion, with face framing bands, as well.
The look definitely aligned with this year’s Met Gala theme of “Costume Art,” with the event encouraging attendees to lean into dramatic outfits that treat the body as a sort of canvas.
And Kidman wasn’t just an attendee this year—she also served as a co-chair of the event along with celebs like Venus Williams, Beyoncé, and former Vogue global editorial director Anna Wintour. She also was co-chair back in 2023 and 2005 as well.
This year, the Moulin Rouge star arrived alongside her daughter, Sunday Rose, who wore an equally stunning gown. Sunday, 17, opted for a pink strapless dress which featured bursts of deeper pinks and purples, which had almost a fuzzy-like appearance. She paired the look with matching earrings made out of the same material, and also wore her hair straight and down.

Notably, this marked Kidman’s first Met Gala appearance without Keith Urban by her side in years, following their recent split. The two had been married for nearly two decades before going their separate ways in 2025.

Reports from Australian outlet New Idea recently suggested that Sunday briefly unfollowed her father on social media before quickly re-following him, a move that didn’t go unnoticed online. Urban has not addressed the situation directly, aside from maintaining that “Family is private,” in a brief statement.
Still, fans have pointed out that Kidman has been more frequently seen stepping out publicly with Sunday and 15-year-old daughter Faith Margaret in recent years, while Urban was last publicly spotted with his girls in 2024.
Anne Hathaway Says She Was the Ninth Option for Iconic Movie Role
Twenty years since the release of the iconic film The Devil Wears Prada, Anne Hathaway revealed something shocking.
She revealed in a chat over British afternoon tea alongside her co-star Emily Blunton Capital FM that she was not the first choice to play Andy Sachs, the young, aspiring journalist who takes an assistant job with the demanding and hard-to-work with Runway Editor-in-Chief, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Hathaway reprised the role in the movie's highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, in which she suddenly lands a Features Editor role at Runway two decades after leaving her assistant job, following the fashion magazine's PR disaster.
"I wasn't the first choice to play Andy Sachs," Hathaway revealed, after she and Blunt were asked if they thought TheDevil Wears Prada would be a hit all of these years later. "I was actually the ninth choice to play Andy Sachs."
Blunt quickly asks if Hathaway can name them, and she laughs, saying, "Yes, of course I can. Tattooed on my brain."
"[I was] just like 'Why is everyone turning down this amazing part in this amazing movie?' I couldn't figure it out," the 43-year-old actress continued. "I like to kid myself and say it was some kind of destiny."
Blunt, who plays Emily Charlton, another one of Miranda Priestly's assistants at Runway, responded to this comment, telling Hathaway that "there's no one else who could play her."
As the casting process continued and each time an actress turned down the role, Hathaway would tell the casting director she was available.
"They're like, 'We're going to go to someone else. I'm like, 'Okay, but I'm still here,'" Hathaway explained. "And the reason that I felt really strongly about putting myself forward and I shouldn't take my eye off the prize was because the project had this really unbelievable, like almost mystical magnetism to it, and I could feel it and I was just like, 'It doesn't matter how you get on this project, just get on it.'"

Based off a 2003 book written by Lauren Weisberger, The Devil Wears Prada follows Andy (Hathaway), who gets a job as a fashion magazine to the assistant to their demanding editor-in-chief, despite not having experience in the fashion world. After struggling to meet many of Miranda's irrational demands, Andy seeks Runway's art director, Nigel (Stanley Tucci), for advice.
The first film grossed over $326 million worldwide when it was released in June 2006. In addition, Streep won a Golden Globe for Best Actress - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her role as Mirana, as well as being nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a SAG Award and Critics' Choice.

This past weekend was the opening for the film's highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, which sees the original cast reprise their roles, along with Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, B.J Novak, Rachel Bloom, Pauline Chalamet, Patrick Brammall and Lady Gaga as new additions. On its opening night on Friday, the film made $77 million in the United States and Canada, and $157 million around the world, totaling of $234 million.
The sequel follows Andy 20 years after leaving Runway, where she is now a respected reporter. Meanwhile, Runway is under fire for failing to vet a piece about a brand that uses sweatshop labor. To improve the magazine's respectability and reputation, Irvin Ravitz (Tibor Feldman), the owner of Runway's media company and Miranda's boss, hires Andy as the magazine's feature editor without Miranda's consent.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is out now in movie theaters nationwide.

1971 Bittersweet Classic With Soulful Soundtrack Ranked Among Greatest Rock Movies
Harold and Maude, Hal Ashby’s 1971 film with an iconic and emotionally resonant soundtrack, took a beat to find its audience. But now that it has, the bittersweet cult classic — an unconventional romance and sublimely dark comedy — has just been named the greatest rock movie of 1971 by Ultimate Classic Rock.
Adapted from Colin Higgins’ novel of the same name, Harold and Maude follows the unlikely bond between an 19-year-old obsessed with death and the free spirited 79-year-old woman who helps him rediscover a reason to live. Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon star, bringing both emotional depth and offbeat charisma to Ashby’s darkly funny meditation on love, mortality, freedom, and connection.
View this post on InstagramPerhaps the best thing about the film — and the reason it’s achieved cult status — is its brilliant soul-stirring soundtrack, crafted by Yusuf/Cat Stevens. Defining the emotional tone, Stevens included tracks from his hit Mona Bone Jakon and Tea for the Tillerman albums, while also writing original material for the film. Two of the movie’s best songs, “If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out” and “Don’t Be Shy,” serve as the film's “Greek chorus.”
In a bit of fun Harold and Maudemovie trivia, Ashby actually didn’t want to direct from the outset, because he didn’t think the film could be humorous, telling producers, “I can make this movie as funny as the Vietnam War.” Meanwhile, Stevens wasn’t the first choice for the music. Elton John was. Ashby wanted John as his leading man, too, but John passed, suggesting pal Cat Stevens for the music gig.
When Harold and Maude hit theaters in December 1971, the film flopped due its unconventional nature — not to mention it was fighting cinematic giants like Dirty Harry and James Bond for ticket buyers. Over time, however, the odd couple found their audience, with a boost from Steven’s timeless soundtrack, which was finally released in 2007 as a soundtrack LP on filmmaker and music aficionado Cameron Crowe’s own Vinyl Films label.
These days, the soundtrack is available as a reissue limited edition, complete with alternate and instrumental track versions, film dialogue, and Gordon’s vocal. You can get your hands on it here. Which we highly recommend, as reliving the timeless celebration of love between Harold, Maude, and Stevens is exactly what this crazy world needs right now.
Harold and Maude is available to rent or buy on Prime Video.

Ashley Graham Had Her Sheer Gown Sewn Onto Her for 2026 Met Gala
Ashley Graham 2026 Met Gala gown is not for the faint of heart.
The supermodel arrived in a champagne-colored sheer gown for the annual event, known as fashion’s biggest night.
As all eyes and cameras darted her way, it wasn't the dress itself that was as head-turning as the fact that she had to be sewn into it.
You read that right!
This year, the exhibition of "Costume Art," is paired with the theme of "Fashion is Art," which Graham did not take lightly.
As Vogue reported, Graham's "serpent dress" comes from Greek designer Dimitra Petsa of Di Petsa, known for the "wet look dress."
Graham's choice is to be interpreted as her second skin, with the team hand-sewing the entire dress onto the model before she stepped onto the carpet.

(Photo by Michael Buckner/Penske Media via Getty Images)It features what Vogue calls a "draping technique," which creates the illusion of scales on a serpent on the bodice, with tulle sides draping down the sides.
Graham continued to turn heads with silver chrome-dipped fingers and nails, which the outlet said pays homage to the artists who have devoted their lives, hands included, to creating all the sculptures inside the museum.
With so much attention to detail, the 38-year-old model kept it neutral with natural makeup and straight, slicked-back hair that also added to the wet appearance.
Graham, who first made her Met Gala debut in 2017, has been a regular attendee in recent years, opting for a tailored suit look in 2025.

1998 Film Ranked the Most 'Perfect Fantasy Movie That Nobody Remembers'
Several fantasy films have been showered in acclaim and seem to be forever culturally relevant. However, there are some movies from the genre that audiences eventually became indifferent to, at no fault of the film.
For instance, Collider released a list of "10 perfect fantasy movies that nobody remembers." The ranking, published in March 2026, included magical movies like Bedknobs and Broomsticks from 1971, 1985's The Black Cauldron, Meet Joe Black, released in 1998, The Green Knight from 2021, and 1985's Ladyhawke.
The 1998 Gary Ross-directed film, Pleasantville, secured the ranking's top spot. According to Collider, the movie, which focuses on high schoolers, played by Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon, having to navigate being 1950s sitcom characters, is an important tale of fighting against damaging societal norms.
Pleasantville has a score of 85 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 71 on Metacritic.
Gary Ross Shared How He Came up With the Script for 'Pleasantville'In a 1998 interview, Ross, who also wrote Pleasantville, shared how he came up with the 1998 film's script. He explained that he "had the idea of this sort of modern Alice in Wonderland," where '90s teenagers are in "this very pristine super perfect world, a long time ago."
"I had the satirical angle of everything just being too perfect. You know, the temperature always being 72 degrees, firemen just getting cats out of trees because there's no fires, everybody's sleeping in twin beds," explained theHunger Games director.
He said, however, that he didn't initially envision the film to speak upon liberation.
"I hadn't had the idea, at that point of it, becoming liberated, more life, like more passionate more full of color. And when I stumbled upon that idea, which was so emotional to me that these people would come alive in that way such a visceral way that you could see, that became very exciting," said the Big co-screenwriter in the 1998 interview.
People Are Collecting Tax Refunds From COVID Thanks to a New Ruling—Here's How You Can Get In On It
Hearing the name IRS can be stressful for many people. That's because the agency is responsible for ensuring that Americans make their tax payments on time, often levying hefty penalties, interest, and other penalties when they fail to do so.
However, a new court ruling may have the IRS checking its pockets for spare change, after it was determined that many people should not have been charged interest and penalties during the height of COVID. Keep reading to find out if you're owed money.
The IRS May Owe Certain Taxpayers MoneyAccording to an IRS blog, tens of millions of Americans could be owed a big payout from the IRS after a court decided that the federal disaster that was established during the COVID-19 crisis should've prevented the IRS from collecting certain payments.
Taxpayers will need to advocate for themselves to receive the payment, according to the Taxpayer Advocate Service, which says they must file a request before July 10, 2026.
Related: The Best Strategies To Protect Your Social Security From the IRS
This is all happening due to a Nov. 2025 court ruling that found that filing and payment deadlines shouldn't have been enforced from Jan. 20, 2020, through May 11, 2023. Instead, the court argues that payments weren't considered late until after July 10, 2023, meaning any late fees, interest, or penalties assessed on payments made before then shouldn't have been collected until after the extension period, which would've come 60 days after the disaster declaration was lifted.
"The plain meaning of that statute is that the automatic extension runs from the beginning of the disaster declaration, through the end of the declared disaster period, and until 60 days after the end of the declared disaster period," the ruling said.
How to Find Out if the IRS Owes You MoneyWondering if this means you'll be eligible to get a little money back from the IRS? According to Today.com, payments made for the following reasons should qualify you for a rebate:
- "Overpayment interest for the 2020–2023 disaster period"
- "Interest that began accruing earlier than it should have, or not at all."
- "Penalties for failure to timely file returns, failure to pay taxes, or failure to make estimated tax payments"
Everyone, from individual filers to corporations, may be owed money under this new ruling, making it especially important for people to do additional research to see if they can get a refund.
How to Get a Refund Under the New RulingThe IRS won't automatically go back through its records and issue checks for the money that is owed. Instead, Today.com says that people will have to do the legwork themselves and file Form 843, which can be found on the IRS website.
However, it's worth noting that the Taxpayer Advocate website says many people will need to educate themselves about this refund to fully understand whether they qualify, and may benefit from hiring a professional to help them navigate the system and determine just how much they could be owed.
As many people already know, tax law is very confusing and constantly changing, which can make it hard to understand whether or not you can collect as part of this new ruling.

Sam’s Club’s New Spring Cake Might Be the Prettiest Dessert in the Bakery
A new Sam’s Club bakery item is getting attention for its fresh look and seasonal flavor, and I'm here for it. As part of the store's 2026 spring bakery lineup, a gorgeous strawberry cake is flying off shelves already. This stunning cake is made for celebrations, and I think it would be the perfect pick for a Mother's Day party.
The timing also fits a bigger trend. Strawberry flavors are having a strong moment this season, especially in bakery items that feel light, fruity and a little nostalgic. That makes this Sam’s Club cake feel right on trend for spring desserts in 2026.

Many shoppers say it looks like something from a specialty bakery, and I don't disagree. The combination of presentation and flavor has made it one of the standout Sam’s Club bakery items this spring. It's especially popular as a Mother’s Day dessert idea, where a visually impressive cake is often the centerpiece of the meal.

Spring 2026 Bakery Trends and the Rise of Strawberry CakesThe Sam’s Club cake is not the only strawberry dessert getting attention this season. Costco has its own strawberry pie, showing how major warehouse clubs are leaning into similar spring bakery themes in 2026.
Across the food world, strawberry is being used in more creative and nostalgic ways. It continues to appear in classic desserts like strawberries and cream cakes, but it's also showing up in more modern combinations. Some trends for spring 2026 include strawberry paired with floral flavors, pistachio, or even matcha in layered drinks and desserts.
This balance of comfort and freshness is part of what makes strawberry such a strong seasonal flavor. It feels familiar, but it still fits newer dessert styles that are more visual and shareable. That is especially true in bakery items that are designed to stand out in-store.
For Sam’s Club shoppers, this strawberry cake is an easy way to bring a seasonal dessert home without extra work.

’90s Rock Ballad Trilogy That Saved Its Band From Obscurity Ends With This Iconic Hit
If you’re like us, you spent the ’90sglued to MTV, where a certain hard rock band dominated the airwaves with one of the most iconic music video trilogies of all time. As the three-part storyline of "Cryin'," "Amazing," and "Crazy" unfolded, it also helped launch the careers of future stars Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler.
Silverstone, just 16 at the time, stars in all three videos, each connected by a loose narrative thread. Her breakout moment came in the summer of 1993 with “Cryin’,” in which she plays a flannel-clad heroine who gets a bellybutton ring, dumps her loser boyfriend (played by Stephen Dorff), and beats up a purse snatcher. The video ends with a now-iconic bungee jump off a bridge and a defiant gesture that pretty much defines the rebellious era.
According to reports at the time, sales tripled after the video hit MTV.
“Aerosmith made a hell of a lot of money off ['Cryin’']," Silverstone told Rolling Stone. "Their sales tripled or something. They would have been crazy not to ask me back."
That November, “Amazing” was released, shifting into a more futuristic tech vibe to reflect the rise of the Internet. In the video, a fanboy loads a tape of “Cryin’” into his computer, allowing him to then enter a metaverse where he interacts with a digital version of Silverstone. What follows is a surreal mix of fantasy, adventure, and romance before a plot twist is revealed. But we won’t spoil it.
Then, things got “Crazy.” In the third and final installment of the rock ballad trilogy, Silverstone plays a schoolgirl who skips out on class with her best friend, played by lead singer Steven Tyler’s daughter, Liv Tyler, also about 16 at the time. The two hit the road in a blur of freedom — shoplifting, skinny-dipping, pushing every boundary — that culminates in the seduction of a farmboy.
“By the time ‘Cryin’ hit MTV in the summer of 1993, it was clear Alicia was a new rock & roll muse,” Rolling Stone writes. The debut changed her life, leading to her role in Clueless. The success story is echoed in the rise of Liv Tyler, who was cast in Empire Records the following year, and then Armageddon in '98, for which her pops supplied the No. 1 hit original song.
“Crazy,” released May 3, 1994, on the band’s Get a Grip album, went on to win a Grammy and MTV Music Video Award. Climbing to No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, it cemented the band’s creative peak, as Far Out Magazine says, "Getting Silverstone into the ‘Cryin’ video turned Aerosmith from potential has-beens to rock icons all over again."
Today, the trilogy is still getting all the flowers it deserves, as it's hailed as the greatest rock video franchise of all time by Rolling Stone. It not only revitalized the band’s cultural moment, but helped launch two future stars — and remains a defining snapshot of MTV-era storytelling more than 30 years later. Doesn't get much better than that.

Legendary British Band to Play First North American Dates in 30 Years on Final Tour
Cabaret Voltaire is saying goodbye with their final tour but not before playing their first shows in North America in more than 30 years.
The pioneering British electronic act kicks off their final tour today (May 4) in Seattle before making stops in Vancouver, Portland, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Following the West Coast swing, they’re heading to Europe for a series of dates in Europe beginning in late May through June before returning to North America for additional shows in September in Dallas, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, New York and Philadelphia.
They’ll wrap their final tour slate of U.K. dates in October.
The band’s current lineup is led by founding member Stephen Mallinder on vocals, bass, keyboards and samples. He’ll be backed by Benge on keyboards and electric drums, Eric Random on keyboards and guitar, and Tara Busch from support act I Speak Machine on keyboards and samples.
“Cabaret Voltaire have always been a huge influence on ISM -- the grit, the raw electricity, not to mention their visuals and art direction -- and it’s truly thrilling to be supporting them in the US. I’m also very excited to be standing in for Chris Watson on synths & samples. I relish this as someone that loves performing and getting a deeper, ‘nerdier’ look at how sounds and songs are created and executed live by bands I love -- and Cabaret Voltaire is as good as it gets!” Busch said in a statement.
The group, named after a nightclub in Zurich, was formed in Sheffield, England in 1973 by Mallinder, Richard H. Kirk and Chris Watson, though that lineup varied during their career.
Watson initially left in 1981, but not before sharing the bill with like-minded bands like Joy Division. The then two-piece band called it quits in 1994. In 2009, Kirk revived the band as a solo project until his death in 2021 at the age of 65. Four years later, Watson and Mallinder regrouped to celebrate the group’s 50th anniversary on Oct. 25, 2025, at the Sensoria Festival in Sheffield.
The group’s final tour supports their recently released live album, But What Time Is It Really?
Though he’s not performing on the final tour, Watson is encouraging fans to check out the recently released live effort. “This record captures the powerful essence of contemporary live performance and establishes a visceral connection to the history of the band,” he said in a statement.
“It was an opportunity to capture the shows as a unique moment in time but also give people the opportunity to have a memento. Something that presented sounds and music, with respect to Richard’s memory, that also transcended time,” Mallinder added.
Mark Ballas Eyes His Next Broadway Role As 'Chicago' Wraps
Mark Ballas wants to be in the room where it happens.
The Dancing with the Stars icon who just wrapped up his stint in 'Chicago: The Musical,' took to Instagram over the weekend, perhaps putting it out there, that he'll hit the 'Hamilton' stage next.
The post, where Ballas was dressed in a Revolutionary War-type uniform while rapping "Cabinet Battle #1" from the musical, was complete with the caption, "Hey Hamilton, just a friendly reminder that I am free as of May 4."
View this post on InstagramAnd fans were totally here for it.
"I would be getting my tickets so fast," one said.
"Flight booked the minute this becomes a reality!" added another.
"I would sell a kidney to see you play Alexander Hamilton," joked a third.
Ballas also got support from fellowDWTSand Broadway stars including Derek Hough, Charlie D'Melio and Wayne Brady.
"I don’t want to see this, I must see this," Hough said.
Whitney Leavitt, Ballas' DWTS partner-turned-Chicago-co-star also commented, "Ayyyyeeeeeeeeeee."
This isn't the first time Ballas has put it out there that he's looking to suit up as Alexander Hamilton, a role that was originated by Lin Manuel Miranda in 2015.
In a recent episode of Instagram show, "What’s Poppin? with Davis!" the dancer and reality star also said that his dream role was Alexander Hamilton and proceeded to rap a verse featured in "My Shot" and "The World Was Wide Enough."

Aside from starring in 'Chicago,' alongside his former DWTS partner Leavitt, Ballas has also starred in ‘Jersey Boys’ in 2017 and ‘Kinky Boots’ in 2018 on Broadway.
He's also no stranger to the music of 'Hamilton' since he and Leavitt danced the foxtrot to "The Room Where It Happens" during Disney Night of Season 34 of the ballroom dance competition show.
And since the two also danced to 'Chicago,' ahead of Leavitt scoring the part of Roxy Hart, perhaps Ballas can manifest the same future for himself and the iconic role.

2001 Country Anthem Somehow Never Hit No. 1 on the Charts
One of Blake Shelton's most iconic songs never reached the No. 1 spot on the music charts.
"Ol' Red," a song from the country crooner's self-titled debut album, is considered one of his signature songs, but it didn't even crack the Top 10 on the Billboard county charts. Unlike the 30 No. 1 hits in his music catalog, "Ol' Red" never reached the summit, and instead peaked at No. 14 on the Country Airplay chart in 2002.
"Ol' Red" was the third single off Shelton's first album, which also hosted hits like "Austin" and "All Over Me," which peaked at No. 1 and No. 18, respectively. "Ol' Red" was initially recorded by George Jones for his 1990 album, You Oughta Be Here With Me, and it was covered by Kenny Rogers in 1993 for his album If Only My Heart Had a Voice.
But the song is now heavily associated with Shelton, who even used the song title as inspiration for the name of his restaurant chain, Ole Red. The bar and live music venue has several locations across the U.S., including spots in Nashville, Orlando, Las Vegas, Gatlinburg and Shelton's hometown of Tishomingo, Okla.
View this post on InstagramDespite not being his biggest chart success, there's no question that "Ol' Red" has a special spot in Shelton's heart. Even the singer himself has said that it's is one of his favorite songs from his entire catalog.
While making an appearance on Bobby Bones' BobbyCast podcast, Shelton named his top 5 songs from his own discography, with "Ol' Red" coming in at No. 3 on his list. His ranking also included "Mine Would Be You" at No. 5, "Who Are You When I’m Not Looking?" at No. 4, "The Baby" at No. 2 and "Austin" at No. 1.
