‘Today’ Host Dylan Dreyer Reveals How ‘The Office’ Star Accidentally Brought Her Son To Tears
Dylan Dreyerand Brian Baumgartner are still laughing about one ski trip moment that did not go as planned.
Baumgartner, best known for playing Kevin Malone on The Office, recently appeared on Dreyer's The Parent Chat, where the two longtime friends looked back on a family vacation that ended with Dreyer's son Oliver in tears.
Brian Baumgartner Was Trying to Get the Kids MovingBaumgartner said the moment happened during a ski trip with his family and Dreyer's family.
"This is me, alone, with five children," he said, according to TV Insider, referring to his two daughters and Dreyer's three sons.
He said he was trying to get everyone ready for ski school, which meant dealing with gloves, boots and all the usual cold-weather chaos.
The first day had been rough, with the group walking through a snowy parking lot while running late.
So the next morning, Baumgartner wanted everyone moving sooner.

Dreyer said her son Oliver, who was 5 at the time, was still trying to enjoy breakfast.
"Oliver loves breakfast," she said.
Baumgartner was trying to hurry everyone along.
"Guys, let's go!" he recalled saying. "We've gotta go!"
Dreyer said that was when she noticed Oliver starting to fall apart.
"His cheeks are shaking, and his eyes are welling up with tears," she said.
Then she asked him what happened.
"I said, 'Did Brian yell at you?'" Dreyer recalled. "And the waterworks just came out."

Baumgartner Said He Was Not Actually YellingBaumgartner defended himself, saying he was not yelling in anger.
Dreyer seemed to understand the difference, but pointed out that his voice can sound intense to a child.
"When a 5-year-old doesn't realize you're kidding, it's terrifying," she said.
Baumgartner joked that Oliver needed to "buck up" and said he would talk to him the next time he saw him.
"The first thing when I see him, I'm gonna yell, 'Ollie, come here!'" he joked.
The ski school incident has clearly become one of those stories that gets retold.
Disney's Darkest Animated Film, Home to Its 'Most Evil' Villain, Premiered 30 Years Ago Today
Thirty years ago today, Disney took its biggest creative risk in years and unveiled it inside a football stadium.
On June 19, 1996, The Hunchback of Notre Dame premiered before a crowd at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, two days before it reached theaters nationwide. Three decades later, it remains one of the studio's most daring and most debated animated films.
Disney's Darkest SwingBased on Victor Hugo's 1831 novel, the film followed Quasimodo, the bell-ringer of Notre Dame, voiced by Tom Hulce, alongside Demi Moore as the kindhearted Esmeralda and Tony Jay as the villainous judge Claude Frollo. Directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, the team behind Beauty and the Beast, it wrapped heavy themes of persecution, faith and obsession inside a G-rated cartoon that one of its screenwriters later called "the most R-rated G you will ever see."Alan Menken's score, including the brooding "Hellfire" and the soaring "Out There," gave the movie a near-operatic weight few Disney films had attempted.
Why It Still Sparks DebateThe film grossed more than $325 million worldwide, a strong run, though it landed below the era's The Lion King and Aladdin peaks. Its reputation has only grown since. In a study published by Parade earlier this year, Frollo was ranked Disney's most evil villain, a nod to just how unsettling the animated classic dared to be. Disney announced a live-action remake back in 2019, with Josh Gad producing and David Henry Hwang writing, but the project has stalled in development, reportedly because of its dark tone.
For now, the 1996 original remains the definitive version, still streaming on Disney+ and still introducing new viewers to Quasimodo. Thirty years on, his story hasn't aged a day.

We Asked 5 Oncology Experts What They Never Eat and They All Said the Same Thing
Cancer is a complicated condition that can be caused by a number of factors. But recent research suggests that four in 10 cancer cases around the world are preventable, giving people more control over their future health than they realize.
While some preventable factors are more obvious, like smoking and drinking high levels of alcohol, others are more surprising. There’s one food in particular that’s been flagged by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a carcinogen, and healthcare providers who work with cancer patients say they’re wary of eating this food themselves.
“Diet can create an environment in the body that is either pro-inflammatory and pro-carcinogenic or anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic,” Dr. Ketan Thanki, MD, colorectal surgeon with the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, CA, tells Parade. As a result, what you eat can either lower or raise your cancer risk.

This particular food “is one of the clearest examples where less, or even avoidance, is better for cancer prevention,” says Dr. Tracy Crane, PhD, RDN, director of lifestyle medicine, prevention and digital health at University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Experts say eating this food very rarely is unlikely to lead to cancer, but it’s something that shouldn’t be a regular part of your diet. Here’s why.

This Is What Oncology Experts Never EatIt’s processed meat. “The World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified processed red meat as a Group 1 carcinogen, placing it in the same category as tobacco smoking and asbestos,” says Dr. Steven Lee-Kong, MD, chief of colorectal surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. “This classification means there is ‘sufficient evidence’ that consuming processed meat causes cancer in humans, specifically colorectal cancer.”
Dr. Wesley Talcott, MD, a radiation oncologist at Northwell’s Lenox Hill Hospital, stresses the importance of understanding what this designation means. “This means that data has demonstrated in a convincing way that these products—and the chemicals used or generated in processing these products— promote cancer formation in the digestive tract,” he explains. (However, he notes that the exact amount of processed meat you'd need to eat to develop cancer is uncertain.)

Nitrates and nitrites, which are used as preservatives, can form N-nitroso compounds in the gut, Dr. Lee-Kong says, adding, “These compounds can damage the cells that line the bowel, which can lead to the development of cancer."
As a result, “I generally avoid them,” says Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, oncologist and author of Eat Your Ice Cream.
What To Do When It Comes To Processed MeatsIt’s best to avoid processed meats as much as possible, according to experts. But if you really enjoy processed meats like bacon or deli meat, Dr. Crane recommends having them as an “occasional food” rather than something you routinely have at meals. “A hot dog once in a while at a ballgame is different from bacon or deli meat every day,” she says.
Still, “for individuals interested in minimizing cancer risk, cutting out or minimizing consumption of processed meats is a good decision,” Dr. Talcott explains, and Dr. Lee-Kong agrees, adding, “Think of them as a rare treat, not a daily staple."

These Are Healthier Alternatives, According to ExpertsIf you’re focused on protein, Dr. Thanki suggests having poultry, fish or seafood, legumes, eggs and dairy products. “For similar convenience as picking up a pack of pepperoni, try hummus, nut butters, canned fish or home-baked turkey,” he says.
Overall, Dr. Crane recommends centering your diet around plants, fiber and minimally processed proteins. “That is the dietary pattern most consistent with cancer prevention and overall metabolic health,” she shares.

2010 Summer Smash Launched a No. 1 Streak Matched Only by Michael Jackson, 16 Years Ago Today
Sixteen years ago today, a bubblegum blast of whipped cream and beach sunshine took over the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and refused to budge.
On June 19, 2010, Katy Perry's "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, reached No. 1, where it stayed for six straight weeks and became the undisputed song of the summer.
What no one knew yet was that the breezy single was only the opening act.
A Record Only Michael Jackson Had Matched"California Gurls" was the lead single from Perry's album Teenage Dream, and it set off one of the most dominant chart runs in pop history. The album went on to produce five No. 1 hits on the Hot 100: "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)." That made Teenage Dream the only album besides Michael Jackson's 1987 blockbuster Bad to spin off five No. 1 singles on the Hot 100, a record the two albums still share alone in 2026.
The streak turned Perry from a rising star into one of the biggest pop acts on the planet and cemented Teenage Dream as a defining album of the era.

The Summer 'California Gurls' OwnedThe candy-colored single dominated radio for months and became 2010's definitive summer anthem. Its music video, which dropped Perry into a fantasy candyland of cotton-candy clouds and gummy bears, became an instant pop-culture touchstone, and the song has since crossed a billion Spotify streams.
Perry, now 41, still keeps "California Gurls" in her live sets, including her recent Lifetimes Tour, proof that the song that ruled the summer of 2010 can still fill an arena 16 years later.
Experts Say Most Retirees Are Looking for the Wrong Thing When They Move—Here's What Actually Matters
When it comes time to retire, many people have visions of settling down somewhere new where they can spend their golden years living out their dreams (preferably with lots of sunshine and mild winters). However, the experts we spoke with say that retirees may be setting the wrong priorities when looking for the perfect home for their next chapter, even those who are dreaming of trading in their snow shovels for beach towels.
That's because there are a few things they say should be top of mind when you're looking for a place to move to in retirement, and warmer weather doesn't even come close to making the top of their list.
Walkability Should Be a Top PriorityWhen considering where to move, Nicolle Aube, a Certified Planner with the American Planning Association and Principal Planner and Founder of Civex, says ditching your car in retirement should be a consideration when looking for a new home. She says people should look for neighborhoods where grocery stores, pharmacies, parks, and community centers are all easily reachable on foot. Of course, that's not to say you should totally rule out a place if it's not walkable.
"Retirees that may eventually stop driving can choose walking as their preference, but those with mobility limitations may have some restrictions even if their area is walkable," she says. "Many cities are using available funding for senior 'dial a ride' services where you can make an appointment for a free/low-cost city rideshare service that will take seniors to medical appointments and other vital services. These local financial decisions help retirees age in place and maintain a sense of independence."
Hospitals, Healthcare, and Senior Centers Should Be NearbyAs you age, being close to hospitals, doctors, and senior centers all becomes way more important. "Senior centers offer programming, social connection, fitness classes, and often serve as information hubs connecting seniors to resources they may not know they qualify for," Aube says. "Cities that have invested in senior-specific programming and facilities are making a financial commitment to that population that shows up in budgets, staffing, and long-term planning documents."
She goes on to explain that cities with an active, well-funded senior center and a hospital within a reasonable distance are more than just a convenient or "nice-to-have" option. "They are building neighborhoods that move beyond accommodating aging into embracing the senior community."
You Should Test Drive Your New NeighborhoodIf you're considering a big move, Jeff Lichtenstein, CEO & Broker at Echo Fine Properties-Palm Beach Gardens, says the best way to ensure your potential new neighborhood has everything you need is to take it for a test drive.
"Spending a long weekend in an area is a good way to explore," he says. "Drive around. Talk to people. The Realtor should mostly explore neighborhoods with the client and act as a tour guide."
This can also help you get an emotional gut check, according to Lichtenstein's wife, Veronica Lichtenstein, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Veronica Listens. "Are the neighbors friendly? The community has to feel right."
While sunshine and saying goodbye to harsh winters may be the things you're looking forward to the most in retirement, these experts clearly believe that there's a lot more to consider before moving to a new town, especially if your goal is to age in place once you arrive.

‘Kate & Allie’ Star Susan Saint James, 79, Looks Incredible 37 Years After the Sitcom Ended
Susan Saint James may not act anymore, but the entertainment icon looks incredible at 79.
Saint James, 79, rose to stardom in detective series like It Takes a Thief and McMillan & Wife. However, it was her role as a single mom alongside Jane Curtin in the hit '80s sitcomKate & Allie that made her a household name. The duo played two divorced mothers who decide to live together and raise their kids in the same house in New York City. The show ran from 1984 to 1989, and Saint James decided to stop acting after that. But in a new spread in PEOPLE, the TV icon returns to the spotlight and looks better than ever.
Still sporting her classic brown hair, Saint James hasn't changed very much in the 37 years since Kate & Allie ended. The star shone brighter than ever as she opened up about learning that Shrinking star Christa Miller is actually her niece.
View this post on Instagram How They Discovered They Were RelatedWhen Miller was 11, her grandmother handed her a copy of PEOPLE that had Saint James on the cover, and told her she was her aunt. Christa learned her biological father was a man named Chuck Miller, Susan's brother.
At 16, Miller finally reconnected with Saint James.
“It was seamless,” Miller shared. “I felt like, ‘Oh, this is my family.' Susan instantly welcomed me and brought sunshine into my life."
The Devastating Loss of Her Son, TeddyIn 2004, Saint James was dropped off in Colorado by a private plane carrying her husband, NBC executive Dick Ebersol, and two of the couple's sons, Teddy and Charlie. After the jet headed back into flight, it went down and skidded on its nose before crashing through a fence and hitting an embankment, PEOPLE reported. While Ebersol and Charlie survived with injuries, Teddy and the plane's crew died.
Saint James later shared that she was grateful the family had a wonderful holiday together before the tragedy.
"There's so many ways that these things can happen," she told PEOPLE. "You can have an argument the night before, or you're far away or working. It's a whole other experience that we had, because we could just remember the hilarious time that we had in L.A. Everybody has really fond memory of that, and everybody said, 'Oh, I love you. See you at Christmas. Goodbye."

Blake Shelton Blasts Fellow Country Star and His Wife
Blake Shelton is keeping track of who remembered his birthday.
The country superstar took to Instagram Stories on Friday, June 19, to thank fans and friends for their well wishes after celebrating his 50th birthday the day before. But among the gratitude was a playful callout aimed at one of his closest friends, fellow country singer Trace Adkins.
"I just wanted to say thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday," Shelton wrote. "Also @traceadkins is the only one of my friends who didn't wish me a happy birthday. And his wife Victoria. Trace and Victoria did NOT wish me a happy birthday."
A screenshot of Blake Shelton's Instagram Story on June 19.If you've ever seen Shelton and Adkins together, you'll know neither one misses an opportunity to give the other a hard time. The two country stars have been friends for decades and have frequently traded jokes both on and off stage. Earlier this year, Adkins actually surprised Shelton with an unusually sweet (and slightly sarcastic) message during a special appearance at the Grand Ole Opry.
READ MORE: Beloved Country Star Reveals He Secretly Got Married
While Shelton was performing back in February, host Kelly Sutton read a letter Adkins had written in his honor. "Blake and I have been friends for almost 25 years. I think of him as more of a brother than a friend," the message read.
Adkins went on to praise Shelton's career and even referenced the fact that Shelton officiated his wedding to Victoria Pratt back in 2019. "He even officiated at Victoria and my wedding. I got him to include in our vows that I never have to eat salmon. Now that is friendship," the letter continued.
When Sutton revealed Adkins as the author, Shelton couldn't resist getting one more joke in. "It's the first time Trace has ever said anything nice to me, and he had you say it," he quipped.
The pair later performed their 2011 hit "Hillbilly Bone" together before Shelton gave Adkins a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Adkins responded by wiping off his face, prompting Shelton to jokingly label his friend a "grumpy bastard."
Given their history, it's probably safe to assume Adkins' birthday oversight—or alleged oversight—won't cause any lasting hard feelings.

This Midwest State Has the Absolute Highest Risk of Bed Bug Infestations
Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable, but when bed bugs decide to crawl into the picture, it’s anything but. It's hard to predict where they will pop up, even the nicest hotels are susceptible to these annoying critters. Travelers assume densely populated areas like NYC. While most vacations can go on without bed bugs, a new survey has identified the states with the highest risk of encountering them.
Where You're More Likely to Find Bed Bugs in Your Hotel RoomCanadian researchers have released a new survey showing that certain destinations have a higher risk of bed bugs in their hotels. Here’s a look at the top 5:
- Michigan
- Ohio
- Maryland
- Pennsylvania
- Wisconsin
Michigan leads the pack here, with a 1-in-57 chance of finding bed bugs, followed by Ohio with a 1-in-59 chance. New York and Washington, D.C., were also on the list, rounding out the top 10.
Related: The Top-Ranked Airport for Layovers In the World Is Nicer Than Most Hotels
What Makes Some Areas More Prone to Bed Bugs?Contrary to popular belief that major cities are more likely to have bed bugs, researchers say it has to do with high levels of visitor turnover. Researchers say Michigan is most likely at the top of the list because of its high volume of business and leisure travel.
Even the bougiest hotels can have bed bugs. This is because they travel on people’s personal belongings. This is why it’s more important than ever to do a sweep of the room before you even unlock your suitcase.
You should always keep your suitcases elevated on luggage racks and away from the bed. Give your bags a thorough check before heading back home to make sure you’re not bringing any unwanted souvenirs home.
If there’s any silver lining in these situations, it is that you can see bedbugs with the naked eye. They are small, but visible. Look around the bed when you get there. Bedbugs shed their skin. Look for any eggs and dot-like feces around the mattress and box springs.

What to Do If You Discover Bed BugsWhile your instinct may be to scream and freak out (which is justified), there are some solid actions you should take if you find bed bugs in your hotel room.
Move your bags, since bed bugs like to hitch a ride on your belongings. The bathroom is usually a good idea because bed bugs are not big fans of cold bathroom tiles. They tend to like warmer areas.
Snap some pictures so you have proof to show hotel staff when you go to the front desk, and either request a new room (far away from yours) or ask for a refund.
If you do get moved to a new room, you’ll want to do another thorough sweep to ensure no other bedbugs are lurking.
While you may not be able to prevent finding bed bugs in your hotel, you can read online reviews. Many people are very vocal if they find bed bugs. If you see reviews that make your skin crawl, it’s probably best not to book in the first place.
1968 Rock Classic, Later Covered by Aretha Franklin, Remains a Timeless Favorite
In 1968, the Rolling Stones topped the charts with a hit that would go on to become so inspirational, it would be covered by hundreds of other artists.
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" was released as a standalone single and has featured in several of the band's greatest hit compilation records such as 1989's Singles Collection: The London Years and 2002's Forty Licks.
The unique title was inspired by guitarist and secondary vocalistKeith Richards' gardener, Jack Dyer. While Richards and lead singerMick Jaggerwere writing at Richards' country home, they heard a noise coming from outside.
"Oh, that's Jack… that's jumpin' Jack," Richards said when Jagger asked him what the noise was.
"I started to work around the phrase on the guitar, which was in open tuning, singing the phrase ‘Jumping Jack,’" Richards explained of the song's origin, per Far Out. "Mick said, ‘Flash,’ and suddenly we had this phrase with a great rhythm and ring to it."
A commercial hit upon its initial release, the song soared to No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart. In the U.S., the track hit the top spot on the Cash Box chart and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" has been covered many times — by almost 480 artists, according to Setlist.FM. One of the most notable covers was by the "Queen of Soul," Aretha Franklin, who covered the track in 1986. In the same year, the song received even more recognition after it inspired the comedy film of the same name, starring Whoopi Goldberg and Jonathan Price. The movie features both the original track and Franklin's cover, and the track is creatively integrated into the plot. Grossing an estimated $29.8 million at the box office against a budget of around $17 million, the movie received a 33% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Carson Daly Shares the Surprising Career Advice He Gave His Son
Carson Daly is thinking ahead as his oldest son approaches a big milestone.
The TODAY host and his wife, Siri, are preparing for their son Jackson to graduate from high school next year. Jackson is 17 and starting to look at colleges, but Carson admitted he is still trying to process the idea.
"I'm in total denial," Carson told TODAY.
Carson Daly Said Parenthood Goes FastCarson said he is trying to stay present as Jackson gets older.
"I think the key to parenthood for me, for fatherhood, is trying every single day how to figure out how to slow the hands of time," he said at TODAY's annual Father's Day event at Swingers Crazy Golf in New York City.
He said parents hear all the time that childhood goes fast, but it does not always sink in right away.
"It's the biggest truth in parenting, when we have our first kids and other parents say, 'Enjoy it. It goes fast," Carson said. "You have your first kid, and your world's spinning. You're like, 'Yeah, yeah. I'll worry about that later.' But you're on a rocket ship."
Jackson Is Looking at CollegesNeilson Barnard/Getty Images
Jackson has already started making college plans.
Carson said his son put together a list of schools to visit, and Siri went with him to tour Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia.
But Carson said the decision feels more complicated now because the world is changing so quickly.
"Jackson's looking at college right now," Carson said. "He's 17, a junior in high school. In two years now, when he's a freshman in college, the entire educational process of how or what he's supposed to get out of a four-year university experience is completely changing in real-time."
Carson Daly Has Another IdeaCarson said he has wondered whether college is still the best path for every high school graduate.

'Queen of Alt-Rock Angst' Reveals Record Executives Were 'Terrified' to Release Her 1995 Breakup Anthem
The 1990's were full of rock tracks from various genres that were dominating the Billboard charts and radio airwaves. Music iconAlanis Morissettelooks back at her hit track "You Oughta Know" and how record executives weren't a fan of it being released as a single.
"You Oughta Know" was released in 1995 as the lead single and was later included in her third studio album, Jagged Little Pill. Written alongside Glen Ballard, the track became a standout hit among critics and cemented Morissette as a future icon of the '90s. It landed at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, No. 3 on the Mainstream Rock chart, and No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart.
What became a signature classic also won Morissette a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song and Best Female Rock Performance. According to the singer on theTalk Easy with Sam Fragosopodcast, the track "wasn't a popular choice" among the higher-ups.
"Nobody wanted 'You Oughta Know' first," she said of releasing the song as a single. "They were terrified of that song. And I remember [thinking] at the time that I would much rather come out being maybe misinterpreted, maybe reduced — maybe there's some triggering going on — but we're starting on a note that is intense."
She added that the track was the perfect jumping-off point for her as the album's debut single. If other tracks like "Hand In My Pocket" or "Ironic" had been released instead, Morissette felt "it might be too much for people to see this to see this appeasement, joy, love [and] idealization and then follow it up with, 'Oh and by the way, of course, she's also angry.'"
'Queen of Alt-Rock Angst' added that the "male gaze" at the time likely couldn't have handled the other tracks.
"You Oughta Know" became an undeniable breakup anthem among fans and one of the best tracks of the '90s. Morissette has previously discussed the inspiration behind the track and it having been a song from her "subconscious." With the track being long rumored to have been about a breakup, the singer has never revealed who the ex-boyfriend in the lyrics is being referred to.
Speculations arose about it having been about her relationship with Full House actor Dave Coulier. In 2022, the actor admitted to having bought the track after believing it was about him and thinking, "Ooh, I think I may have really hurt this woman." The two dated in the early '90s when Morissette was 18, and the Full House actor was 33. They ended the relationship after two years.

‘Supergirl’ Turns Head with Glowing First Reviews – Here’s What the Critics Are Saying
The reviews are officially in for DC's latest and greatest superhero film, Supergirl. And if early critics' responses are any indication, fans are in for a certified wild ride of a movie.
According to Variety, an early media screening for Supergirl has been met with largely positive reactions from critics, with many complimenting the film for star Milly Alcock's lead performance.
While many felt the movie didn't exactly set itself apart as the most revolutionary superhero movie of all time, they nevertheless deemed it a worthy successor to the DCU's earlier Superman movie, favorably comparing it to the Mad Max franchise.
“It isn’t a classic but it’s fun and hits most of the targets it aims for,” shared journalist Simon Thompson. “Milly Alcock is great as the titular heroine and Momoa’s Lobo is a blast. Other big wins are the action, humor and when it leans into physical production.”
“It doesn’t quite have the resonance of Superman, but it acts as both a perfect companion and follow-up to that movie with better characters and more complex relationships," added Germain Lussier, a critic for Gizmodo and io9. "It’s also incredibly emotional, which makes the action hit even harder.”
The second official installment in director James Gunn's newly rebooted DC Universe, Supergirl stars Alcock as the unruly titular character embarking on an intergalactic adventure beyond viewers' wildest imagination.
The movie's logline specifically reads: “When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”
Starring Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham and Jason Momoa, the film is slated for release on June 26. The film will be followed by the horror superhero movie Clayface later this fall, as well as a sequel to Superman, titled Man of Tomorrow, for July 9, 2027.
Hugh Hefner's Son, 36, Shares Rarely Seen 'Magical' Holiday Photos of 'Stunning' Mom and Playboy Mogul
Hugh Hefner's son Marston is showing a different side of his father in a recently-posted batch of nostalgic photos.
The throwback pics showed the Playboy founder and then-wife Kimberley Conrad playing with Power Ranger toys they bought Marston for Christmas. In the post's caption, the 36-year-old lovingly explained how his parents "made Christmas the best day of the year."
View this post on Instagram"The Power Rangers gift I received was my absolute favorite game for some time, because it could go wherever I went, unlike the SNES or Sega and it starred my favorite franchise in the world. Not only that, the game was quite good." Marston wrote. "My father and mother made Christmas the best day of the year. It was unrivaled. And it makes me miss him very much. He had a way of making the holidays feel magical."
Fans of Hugh, or those who only associate him with his Playboy empire, were delighted to see him as a father figure.
"To see these photos makes a lot of people happy. It was a side of your mom and dad that only some of us knew," one commenter said.
"Your mom is so stunning," another said of Conrad, who at one time was a Playboy Playmate.
"What a cool life!!! I love hearing your stories." added a third.
A sprinkling of commenters, however, didn't even know that Hugh was dad to Marston, as he tends to stay out of the spotlight.
"Hugh was your dad?" one wrote, with another asking, "Is that Hugh Hefner."

Before his marriage to Conrad, The Playboy Magazine founder was first married to Mildred Williams from 1949-1959 and they shared two children, Christie, who once served as a CEO of Playboy Enterprises and David, who was not involved in his father's business.
Later in life, Hugh married Crystal Harris in 2012. They were married until he died in September of 2017 at age 91.

How to Pick the Perfect Route 66 Drive Based on Your All-Time Favorite Musician
The iconic road and music are inextricably woven together in the fabric of American history. There's a reason there's a song about "getting your kicks on Route 66." This year, Route 66 celebrates 100 years of connecting Chicago to LA; it connects generations of music legends, from Chuck Berry to The Eagles.
So this summer, go on a cruise down Route 66's music memory lane at these historic spots.

If You Love Bruce Springsteen: Amarillo, TexasPhoto by Jaime Crosas / 500px on Getty Images
Here rests one of the most picturesque art installations, Cadillac Ranch, which, since 1974, has featured 10 cars buried nose-deep in the sand, with the back ends sticking up and adorned with graffiti. AFARcites this landmark by artists Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez, and Doug Michels as the inspiration for the song of the same name on The River, Bruce Springsteen's seminal 1980 album. It costs nothing to stop there, plus you can bring a can of spray paint to mark the occasion.
If You Love Chuck Berry: St. Louis, MissouriMosey on over for a drink or two at Blueberry Hill, the St. Louis bar that's essentially a shrine to Chuck Berry, whose "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" cover stands as one of America's all-time favorites. The venue was a noted performance residence for the St. Louis-born "Father of Rock and Roll," who played over 200 shows at Blueberry Hill, as shared on the music institution's website. It's still a route gem offering live music and slinging drinks.
If You Love Tom Petty and Eric Clapton: Tulsa, OklahomaIf you're a classic rock fan, Church Studio is a sacred chapel of music lore at the turn of the century. Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, and JJ Cale recorded some of their greatest hits there, and now it remains open as a museum that boasts this history on their website. It is now a fully operational music venue for local artists. If you visit, you're likely to experience a live recording session and grab drinks too.
If You Love Woody Guthrie: Tulsa, OklahomaFor Route 66's centennial, the city of Tulsa gets a second pit stop shout-out for a very special reason: they have installed a music road honoring the milestone and Woody Guthrie. For an immersive experience, now when you drive over the Southwest Boulevard Bridge that runs parallel to the Cyrus Avery Memorial Bridge at 35 miles per hour, the song “This Land is Your Land," made famous by Oklahoma native Woodie Guthrie, will play. The city shared in a release on their website that the engineering feat is made possible by installing grooves and rumble strips in the pavement that create the familiar sounds inside vehicles as they pass over them while driving to downtown on that stretch of highway.
If You Love The Eagles: Winslow, ArizonaPhoto by UniversalImagesGroup on Getty Images
One of the most photographed pit stops on Route 66 is the spot where Eagles musician Jackson Browne ended up stranded after his car broke down in the 70s. The ordeal influenced the lyrics for the Eagles' hit song "Take It Easy." There, you can find a dedicated mural corner and a statue that commemorates the song, according to the Boston Globe.
If You Love Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Laurel Canyon and Topanga Canyon, CaliforniaRoute 66 ends in the backyard of one of rock's most scenic drives in the Laurel and Topanga Canyon roads before hitting the Pacific Ocean. As noted in Wine, Travel and Song's guide to LA's rock landmarks, this stretch of highway is marked in an era that sparked Nash to pen “Our House" about his and Joni Mitchell's time living among those winding canyon roads. Known as a hub for other artists, including Jim Morrison of The Doors, The Eagles, and Neil Young, it evoked those California vibes within harmonies born out of the time rock legends spent there. It's said that David Crosby was so awestruck by Young’s Topanga Canyon home that it served as the inspiration behind the classic ‘Wooden Ships,' which he wrote with Paul Kantner from Jefferson Airplane. It's a perfect place to stop on a road trip, exactly where the bedrock of this music started.
7 Keto Pasta Brands, Ranked Worst to Best
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Whether you're a foodie or a picky eater, we live in a time where there are an endless number of food brands that cater to all different tastes. There are also a wide array of diets that focus on specific nutritional needs.
The keto diet isn't new, but my knowledge of the lifestyle was limited when Parade asked me to test a variety of keto-friendly pastas. I remembered that reality star Vinny Guadagnino used to talk about his keto diet on The Jersey Shore, and I knew it had something to do with carbs, but I wanted to learn more before my taste test.
While researching the diet, I spoke with several nutritionists to learn what it means to go keto. Jim White, RDN, a registered dietitian with the men's health brand BULT, describes it as a "low-carb, moderate-protein, high-fat approach to eating."
"It shifts the body toward using fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates. Many people use keto to support weight loss, improve blood sugar control or improve metabolic health," he says.
Dawn Menning, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist with Nutu, further explains the keto approach, saying people on the diet consume 25 - 50 grams of carbs daily.
"By restricting carbs, it puts the body in a metabolic state called ketosis in which the body uses fat for energy instead of glucose," she shares.
So, are keto pastas any good and what should you look for while shopping? Here's how my taste test went.

The 7 Keto Pastas I Tested- Thrive Market Hearts of Palm Pasta Angel Hair
- egglife Roasted Garlic Power Pasta
- Miracle Noodle Organic Angel Hair
- Great Low Carb Rotini Pasta
- Kaizen Protein Pasta Fusilli
- Aviate Keto Pasta Rotini
- Carbe Diem Penne
Helen Tieu, RD, MAN, CDE, a registered dietitian and the founder of virtual nutrition practice Diet Redefined, says many keto pastas replace traditional wheat flour with the following keto-friendly ingredients: konjac root, heart of palm and lupini flour.
"Keto pastas may contain more fiber and protein compared to regular pastas depending on the ingredients used," she says.
While shopping for keto pastas, Tieu says you should consider "taste, texture, flavor and personal preference."
"I recommend looking at the nutrition fact table and ingredients list to assess for ingredient quality and nutrition content such as calories, fiber, sodium, protein, vitamins and minerals," she says.
White also recommends reading the nutritional information closely to ensure that the brand is truly keto-friendly and has "lower net carbs and higher fiber" than traditional pastas.
Per Menning, keto pastas should ideally have less than 10 net grams of carbs (compared to 35-40 grams in traditional pasta), a short ingredient list without added sugar and a high protein content.
"With keto pasta, fiber is subtracted from total carb content to reduce net carbs,"
she says.
Since they have more fiber than traditional pastas, keto pastas are typically more filling. White also notes that the texture of keto pastas can vary "depending on the ingredients," but says "they've come a long way in recent years."

How I Tested the Keto PastaSince keto pastas can be made with several different primary ingredients, I did my research to find brands that made pastas with several of these key ingredients. Over the course of two weeks, my husband and I tested each of the seven different pastas.
We cooked them according to the instructions on the packages and added tomato sauce to all but two of them since we weren't sure that they'd pair well with sauce. For each pasta, I also tried it plain before adding sauce. I took notes for each taste test then ranked them based on texture and taste.

7 Keto Pasta Brands, Ranked Worst to BestHere's what to know about each pasta brand, and my experience testing them all.
7. Thrive Market Hearts of Palm Pasta Angel Hair, $3.49Thrive Market
Shop It at Thrive MarketWhat to know about the pasta: Thrive Market describes this keto-friendly, gluten-free and grain-free pasta as being made with "ethically sourced hearts of palm," which are harvested from the "inner core of naturally regenerating palm trees in Ecuador." Each serving has 25 calories, 5 grams of carbs and 1 gram of protein. There's only one ingredient: hearts of palm.
My experience: I was instantly pleased that I didn't have to boil the pasta. Instead, I just had to heat it up in the microwave. The first thing I noticed when I pulled the bowl out of the microwave was the fragrant scent. It honestly smelled more like perfume than food and it was pleasant.
When my husband and I tasted the noodles, we both agreed that they were very chewy and rubbery. The taste was very mild and non-offensive, especially considering the strong scent, so that was a plus. But we couldn't get over the overly chewy consistency, which is why I ranked the product as my least favorite of the bunch.
Overall, I think if you were to put the noodles in a soup and chop them up into small pieces it would be a better approach than eating them on their own. And just because I wasn't fond of the chewy consistency doesn't mean some other people wouldn't like it.

6. egglife Roasted Garlic Power Pasta, $7.99Target
Shop It at TargetWhat to know about the pasta: Egglife makes multiple keto-friendly pastas, including this roasted garlic version and the following other varieties: original, sundried tomato and spicy chili. Per the brand, each serving has double the protein and 90% less carbs than traditional pasta. One serving has 4 grams of carbs, 19 grams of protein and 100 calories.
The ingredients of the gluten-free pasta include egg whites, egg yolks, less than 2% of konjac fiber, dried garlic, parsley, xanthan gum, natural flavor, sea salt and nisin.
My experience: I enjoyed the fact that you don't have to boil water to cook the pasta. Instead, you have the option of microwaving it directly in its package in the microwave for around 40 seconds or warming it up in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat for three to four minutes. I chose the skillet option and added one can of my favorite sauce.
The thick noodles took a bit of effort to move around in the skillet and I ended up adding two cans of sauce since there were a lot of noodles. I'm a big fan of pasta and eggs, so I figured it would be a magical combo, however, my husband and I found the noodles to have a slightly grainy consistency. We agreed that it felt like eating eggs in a noodle form.
The noodles tasted better when cut up into smaller pieces, but they were definitely very chewy and had a wheat pasta consistency. We both appreciated that the brand has several flavors available, but found the garlic scent to be a tad overpowering. The garlic taste, however, was spot-on.
5. Miracle Noodle Organic Angel Hair 6-Pack, $27.54Amazon
Shop It on AmazonWhat to know about the pasta: According to the brand, these keto-friendly, gluten-free angel hair noodles are made with 97% water and 3% organic konjac plant flour. Citric acid is the only other ingredient. The pre-cooked noodles are made with a recipe from Buddhist monks and each serving has 5 calories and 3 grams of carbs.
My experience: I'll be honest, I was a little nervous to try this one. There was something about the almost translucent appearance of the noodles that freaked me out a bit, but I kept an open mind. After opening the package, I drained the remaining water and rinsed the noodles, per the instructions, then microwaved them for 60 seconds. You also have the option of heating them in a pan for five minutes.
When it came time to test the noodles, we noted that they didn't really taste like anything. Once we added a touch of salt, they instantly tasted better. I also added ketchup to them (yes, I'm that person) and that tasted good. The noodles are a bit chewy, so it takes some getting used to, but they weren't offensive, and they're very light. My husband and I both agreed that we'd be open to trying the noodles again in the future and would likely enjoy them in a soup.

4. Great Low Carb Rotini Pasta, $14.99Amazon
Shop It on AmazonWhat to know about the pasta: Great Low Carb Co. describes this keto-friendly pasta as having an "authentic texture." Each serving has 100 calories, 19 grams of protein, 5 grams of carbs and 28 grams of dietary fiber. The pasta is made with the following ingredients: modified tapioca starch, wheat gluten, pea protein, water, wheat fiber, egg white powder, acacia fiber and durum wheat semolin.
My experience: When I saw the label "Made in Italy" on the package, I had high expectations since Italians have the market cornered on quality pasta. It takes a bit longer to cook than traditional pasta (14 - 18 minutes) but that was similar to some of the other keto-friendly pastas I'd already tried, and didn't faze me.
When my husband and I tested the pasta, we both remarked that it was firmer like traditional pasta. However, it had a bit of a grainy, chewy taste as you continued eating it, kind of similar to wheat pastas. It wasn't offensive, but it took a bit more effort to chew. I used a simple tomato sauce, but think a thicker sauce like a meat sauce would likely mask some of the grainy consistency.
3. Kaizen Protein Pasta Fusilli 3-Pack, $28.99Kaizen
Shop It on AmazonWhat to know about the pasta: Kaizen Protein Pasta Fusilli is a high fiber, low carb pasta made with lupini beans. The brand notes that the pasta has triple the protein and 85% fewer carbs than regular pasta. Aside from lupini beans, other key ingredients include fava bean protein and tapiocha starch.
My experience: While cooking the pasta, I was pleased to see that it was ready in just four to six minutes, versus other traditional pastas that often take around 10 minutes. When I drained the water, I noticed it was pretty yellow and attributed that to the lupini beans. Similar to some varieties of chickpea pasta that I've tried in the past, the pasta can get a bit mushy while adding sauce to it, so just be gentle while you're stirring it.
The pasta was melt-in-your-mouth soft, which I enjoyed, and had a neutral taste. It's also pretty filling, so you don't need to load your plate with as much as you might be inclined to. I liked that the brand has multiple pasta shapes (seven, in total) in addition to rice and macaroni and cheese.
The only drawback? The brand's on the pricier side. For instance, a four-pack of fusilli is $39.99 for a one-time purchase. If you subscribe on the brand's website, however, you can purchase the same pack for $31.99.

2. Aviate Keto Pasta Rotini 3-Pack, $29.99Amazon
Shop It on AmazonWhat to know about the pasta: Aviate's keto-friendly pasta is also gluten-free and vegan. It's made with lupini flour, water, sunflower flour, tapioca fiber, xanthan gum and natural flavors. Each serving has 140 calories, 20 grams of protein and 22 grams of carbs (3 grams of net carbs and 19 grams of dietary fiber). Per the brand, the pasta has triple the protein and six times the fiber of traditional pasta.
My experience: After boiling the water, I cooked the pasta for two to three minutes, per the brand's instructions. When you're running short on time, the shorter cook time is definitely a perk. My husband and I both appreciated the soft consistency of the pasta and the neutral taste. It was almost identical to the Kaizen pasta I'd previously tasted, maybe just a percentage softer.
As with the Kaizen pasta, you just need to be a bit delicate while stirring in the sauce, and the price is also something to consider if you're on a budget.
1. Carbe Diem Penne 3-Pack, $16.99Carbe Diem
Shop It at WalmartWhat to know about the pasta: Carbe Diem is a wheat pasta that's made with three ingredients: modified wheat starch, semolina wheat and vital wheat gluten. Per the brand, the pasta has 55% fewer net carbs than traditional pasta. Each serving has 110 calories and 8 grams of protein and 24 grams of dietary fiber.
My experience: Carbe Diem was our favorite keto-friendly pasta, hands down. It had the closest consistency to traditional pasta and tasted just as delicious. When my husband took his first taste, he asked, "Can we start eating this instead of chickpea pasta?" as his eyes lit up.
Compared to traditional pasta, Carbe Diem's pasta takes a bit longer to cook (13 - 15 minutes, to be exact), but your patience will pay off if you're willing to wait a little longer. It's quite absorbent and almost needs two regular-sized cans of sauce if you like a lot of sauce, like I do.
While eating the pasta, I felt a little bit like I was getting away with something. It was just as good as regular pasta and felt light but filling at the same time. I happily dug into the leftovers the next few days!

You Can Be Taylor Swift’s Neighbor—If You Have an Extra $23.5 Million Handy
Bumping into Taylor Swiftwhile walking your dog or strolling down the street to borrow a cup of sugar from your favorite pop idol sounds like every Swiftie's fantasy. And now is your chance if you have $23.5 million sitting around.
View this post on Instagram Home PortA sprawling waterfront estate dubbed Home Port in the historic Watch Hill Fire District neighborhood of Westerly, Rhode Island, recently hit the market with a whopping $23.5 million price tag. Built in 2006 and situated near the Rhode Island-Connecticut border, the harbor-front property spans 2.75 acres on a quiet dead-end road overlooking Watch Hill Cove.
Photo by Boston Globe on Getty Images
The estate is less of a quaint home and more of a luxurious coastal compound. Home Port features a four-level main residence, separate guest house, private dock, boathouse, tennis court, wine cellar, sauna, wet bar, saltwater pool, and even a recording studio. In total, the property offers eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and 12,248 square feet of living space. That's roughly $1,919 per square foot, and annual property taxes are estimated at $119,694 a year, so the next owner will need extra cash flow long after closing papers are signed.
The estate's deep-water dock can accommodate a yacht up to 70 feet long and offers stunning views of Watch Hill Harbor, Fishers Island Sound, and the Atlantic Ocean. Basically, it's the kind of property where leaving home might feel completely optional.

Your Famous NeighborOne of Home Port’s biggest selling points isn’t even on the property: Taylor Swift lives nearby. Just down the road sits the colonial-style High Watch estate, otherwise known as the house where Swift has hosted her well-known Fourth of July parties throughout the years. The historic estate also famously inspired Swift’s 2020 Folklore track “The Last Great American Dynasty,” which tells the story of former owner Rebekah Harkness, an American composer, sculptor, dance patron, and philanthropist who married into the Standard Oil fortune and became one of Rhode Island’s most talked-about socialites.

High Watch—and the surrounding Watch Hill neighborhood—has become so high-profile that policymakers have even considered a tax proposal unofficially dubbed the “Taylor Swift tax.” The measure would add a $2.50 surcharge for every $500 of assessed value on non-primary residences valued at more than $1 million.
Is Home Port Worth the Splurge? With all its amenities, Home Port has everything you need and will no doubt become your primary residence, so you won't have to worry about potential "Taylor Swift tax." But let’s be honest, the real perk isn’t staying in, it’s stepping outside into a stunning neighborhood surrounded by water, history, and the chance to rub shoulders with your favorite pop star.
