Medicaid Work Requirements Are Actually Happening; Here’s What It Means for You
Six of the seven red states that voted for more Medicaid coverage will see pushback from their Republican senators in the form of stricter rules. While many blue states are expanding Medicaid access to help citizens get the care they deserve, these states are thwarting voter wishes by cracking down.

What States Are InvolvedThe 2012 ruling by the Supreme Court made the Affordable Care Act’s (nicknamed Obamacare by many) Medicaid expansion rules optional for states. Many states have expanded coverage to include millions of low-income residents who were previously ineligible, but six have implemented rules that make it more difficult to get on and maintain coverage.
Idaho, Maine, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Utah decided to implement new rules that will require low-income patients to provide more documentation more frequently, offer fewer exemptions, and begin enforcement much earlier than federal law requires. Most of the states putting in these extra hurdles are run by conservative Republicans.
A healthcare think tank, KFF, found that most Americans actually support the expansion of Medicaid to include lower-income people without children or disabilities. 83% of Democrats and 58% of Republicans, according to the study, support expanding or maintaining Medicaid enrollment so that more Americans have access to affordable health care.

How Will It WorkThe new crackdowns will begin in 2027 and drop any participant who can’t prove they’re working, enrolled in school, volunteering, or caring for a loved one at least 80 hours per month. Four states, Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana, and Iowa, will not give exemptions to anyone living in areas with high unemployment.
In addition, Oklahoma and Missouri plan to use AI to assess someone’s documentation and eligibility for Medicaid, a move analysts fear may lead to errors due to the issues AI presents.
Nebraska, Utah, and South Dakota, all states requiring more documentation and proof, have no plans to create new jobs or hire additional workers to manage the influx of data required to implement these new rules. Without additional staff to handle the mountain of new paperwork, there’s a chance for a backlog of approvals.

The Projected OutcomeThe Urban Institute is a center-left think tank that estimates that 3 to 7 million Americans will lose coverage solely due to work requirements, with more to be dropped from other requirements. The rush to implement the crackdown could leave these six states and the people who rely on the healthcare they provide in the lurch.

Trump Claims His Trump IRA Benefit Will Make People Rich— But Experts Don't Agree
PresidentDonald Trump has signed many executive orders focused on Americans' finances, but the April 30th one is meant to expand access to retirement funds for everyday workers without access to 401(k) plans. In it, the President claims that a young investor can retire with $465,000 by the age of 65, making them “rich.” Market analysts aren’t so sure.
Related: Dave Ramsey Sounds the Alarm on 401(K)S and What So Many Americans Miss
The New OrderDuring the signing ceremony for TrumpIRA.gov, the President remarked that saving that amount would make anyone wealthy in their retirement. Financial advisors note that, while nearly half a million dollars is a nice nest egg, that amount isn’t necessarily able to sustain certain lifestyles when spread over twenty to thirty years post-retirement.
Currently, the retirement age for anyone born after 1960 is 67 years old. The average American lifespan is 79 years old, with women living a little longer at just over 81, while men live a little shorter at just over 76. Many people, however, are living well into their 90s. This is especially important, given that the executive order targets young Americans with the potential to live much longer, as science and medical advances help extend our healthy golden years.
What Retirement Will Look LikeIf the average Gen Z worker has a retirement age of 69 (a realistic projection given the economy they’re inheriting) and a lifespan of 85, they’ll need that IRA to last at least 16 years. Many of them will live longer, stretching it out over 20-30 years.
Even at the lowest lifespan projection, the $465,000 Trump promises equals only around $29,000 a year. That’s not a sustainable yearly income, now much less what will be needed to live comfortably in four decades when many young workers will retire. Since most of these workers will likely live longer, that yearly amount drops even lower.
Another barrier to collecting this payout is the need for workers to invest their own funds. In November 2025, the U.S. Labor Market reported that 9.3 million Americans were working at least two jobs to make ends meet, with at least half of those workers having a college degree. That’s the highest percentage, roughly 5.7% of the population, working more than one job since we began tracking numbers in 1994. Many people working today simply don’t have the extra money to put into a private Trump IRA.

Will You Be Rich?So while the President claims that investing in his namesake IRA will make young workers “rich,” that simply isn’t the case. Investing now is a good idea, but it’s best to spread it across multiple areas to ensure a comfortable retirement.

Why Florida Is No Longer the Top Choice for Your Retirement, According to Real Estate Pros
There was a time when Florida was considered the best place to go when you were ready to retire. Between favorable tax laws, low cost of living, and the year-round sunshine, many seniors headed to the Sunshine State the moment they retired.
These days, experts say there are many reasons to avoid moving to Florida in retirement. According to them, the state has really lost its luster in recent years for a lot of reasons, and they are ready to spill the beans about why you should think twice before heading to the Sunshine State.
Costs Are on the Rise in FloridaWhile Tim McGarry, a loan officer at PrimeLending, says that Florida's weather remains a huge draw for seniors, he also notes that there's a downside to all that sunshine: The Storms that come along with it.
According to him, weather hazards such as hurricanes have driven up insurance premiums over the years. "Housing is very expensive too, and a lot of people have moved to Florida in the past two years," he adds, noting that it's becoming overcrowded and harder to find a good price on a home.

Temperatures Are Also SoaringAnthony Askowitz, a Broker at REMAX Advance Realty II, notes that the warm weather has gotten even warmer in recent years, noting that both the heat and humidity are often a pain point for some folks.
"People come to Florida on vacation in the season when it is a bit cooler and fall in love with the lifestyle," he says. "Their first summer and hurricane season are an eye-opener for some."
But, Askowitz says that weather isn't the only thing transplants end up disappointed by when they move to the state, and says that many new arrivals are shocked to learn about all of the creepy crawlies and big predators that also call the Sunshine State home (I'm looking at you, palmetto bugs).
Surprise Fees Can Hit Certain HomeownersWhile there are a lot of known costs that can factor into whether or not Florida is the right place for you to retire, Sain Rhodes, a real estate expert with Clever Offers, says that those unexpected costs are the ones that hurt seniors the most.
"Last year, I had a client, a widow from Ohio who moved into a condominium near Fort Myers," he explains. "After 14 months in her new home, she faced a $78,000 special assessment on HOA fees due to a concrete reconstruction, her insurance premiums grew from $4,200 to $9,800, and she evacuated twice during hurricane season."

Your Social Network May be Found ElsewhereMost of the experts I spoke with noted another aspect of moving in retirement, and it wasn't just the downside of heading to Florida. They all noted that many people opt to move elsewhere in retirement, failing to realize they could be leaving all their friends and family behind.
According to Steven Kao, MBA, CAIA, Director of Portfolio Management at Kisner Wealth Management, sometimes the best place to be in retirement is right where you already are. "If your home is paid off and your network is local, that can be financially and emotionally optimal," he says of staying put.
Of course, deciding where to go in your golden years will be a deeply personal decision that only you can make. And while these experts listed a variety of factors to consider, many people still thrive when they move to the Sunshine State, especially if it's somewhere they've always dreamed of living.

Classic '70s Rock Legends Announce Exciting 2026 Residency News
Eagles fans who weren't able to see the '70s rock band's Sphere residency just got another chance.
On Friday, May 4, the classic rockers announced the extension of their multi-year residency in Las Vegas.
"Due to overwhelming demand," six shows were announced for the 2026 fall season.
Shows will kick off on Friday, Sep. 18 and Saturday, Sep 19, as the only two dates in September.
The additional four dates will lean into the start of the holiday season in November with two separate weekends: Friday, Nov. 13, Saturday, Nov. 14, Friday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 28.

'80s Rock God's Incredible Cover of Led Zeppelin Classic Resurfaces: 'Musical Genius'
An important milestone in any music fan's life is when they realize simply how incredible Prince was.
I know for me, it was a revelation that came as a bit of a shock. For a lot of my life, I went around with the cultural understanding of Prince that most people hold -- '80s pop star. I of course knew tracks like "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry," and they were obviously great songs, but I didn't really grasp what I was listening to. I always understood Prince as a showman as opposed to a musician.
That all changed when my dad one day showed me Prince's performance at George Harrison's Rock Hall induction in 2004. The event was a solemn affair, as it was a posthumous honor. George Harrison had passed away in 2001 after a battle with cancer.
The performance included Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Tom Petty, and Dhani Harrison. With all these legends and close friends and family of Harrison, it would come as a shock when the biggest rock star of all of them was Prince.
Young me could not believe the performance Prince gives here. His guitar feels possessed, screaming out with this rapturous tone that captured the emotions of the moment. My perception of Prince was forever changed in that moment.
The man was a master of pretty much every instrument he touched. There wasn't a style or a genre of music he couldn't play to perfection. Even with all of his acclaim and legendary status, I still feel he's a very underrated artist.
The Rock Hall of Fame Resurfaces Prince's Led Zeppelin CoverOf course, having had this milestone happen already, it came as no surprise to me when the Rock Hall chose to remind us all of Prince's versatility and mastery of the guitar with this amazing cover of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love."
@rockhallThrowback to when @prince covered @ledzeppelin. #prince #ledzeppelin #wholelottalove #cover #guitarsolo
♬ original sound - Rock Hall - Rock HallSeeing legend interpreting legend is always a very exciting thing, especially when it's two artists so entwined within the mythology of music. Fans were just as excited as I was, making a lot of the same points I am.
"I was at this show. Because I was in his fan club I got to see his sound check (1 hr) this show (3 hrs) and the after show (3 hrs). He played 7 hrs that night ending at 5am. Nobody touches him live."
"Wish he was still here. So many do not know the talent of this man. It was unbelievable."
"Musical Genius. 🎵🎶"
Whether you already had this epiphany, or are having it for the first time now, there's no denying that Prince was one of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar.

Whole Foods Shoppers Say This New Drink Is So Tasty, It's a 'True Win': 'Did Not Disappoint'
Whole Foods shoppers are already weighing in on a new bottled tea that's starting to show up in stores—and early reactions are surprisingly strong. In a recent Instagram reel, commenters called the drink a "true win" and said it "did not disappoint," pointing to flavor that feels closer to fresh juice than your typical ready-to-drink tea.
The buzz is around a new line of organic teas from Evolution Fresh, a brand better known for its cold-pressed juices. The drinks combine real brewed tea with fruit-forward flavors and functional ingredients, landing somewhere between a traditional iced tea and a juice blend. With warmer weather around the corner and demand for lighter, better-for-you drinks picking up, it's the kind of release that feels well-timed for spring and summer sipping.

What Is Evolution Fresh's New Organic Tea Line? View this post on InstagramThe new lineup is rolling out nationwide at Whole Foods Market, positioning itself as a more ingredient-driven alternative to many bottled teas on shelves. Instead of leaning on heavy sweeteners or artificial flavoring, these teas are built around brewed tea bases layered with cold-pressed fruit juices. And that sets it apart. According to a recent release, Evolution Fresh is the only tea brand on the market to blend real brewed tea with cold-pressed juice for a nutritious burst of fruit flavor.
It's a notable shift for Evolution Fresh, which has largely been associated with juices. Moving into tea keeps one foot in that "fresh, refrigerated" space while tapping into a category that's been growing as shoppers look for drinks that feel a little more purposeful than standard teas and sodas.
What Flavors Are Available—and What Do They Do? View this post on InstagramThe line is split across four flavor profiles, each tied to a specific function:
- Energize (Raspberry Passionfruit Black Tea): A lightly caffeinated option designed for a quick lift, thanks to naturally occurring caffeine from black tea.
- Focus (Mango Peach Green Tea): Combines green tea caffeine with L-theanine, a pairing often associated with more balanced, steady energy.
- Hydrate (Triple Citrus Hibiscus): A caffeine-free blend built around bright citrus and hibiscus, aimed at refreshment rather than stimulation.
- Relax (Berry Lavender Chamomile): Another caffeine-free option, leaning into softer flavors meant for winding down.
Rather than pushing hard into supplement territory, the approach here feels more like subtle positioning—flavor first, with function as a secondary benefit.

Why Functional Drinks Keep Showing UpDrinks like this are landing at a moment when the beverage aisle is shifting. Shoppers are increasingly looking for options that do a little more, whether that's added energy, hydration, or a sense of balance without turning to heavily processed ingredients.
Tea has become a natural base for that shift. It already carries associations with both caffeine and calm, depending on the variety, which makes it an easy platform for brands trying to build in function without overcomplicating the formula.
Blending tea with juice pushes it even further, softening the bitterness that can turn some people away from traditional iced tea while adding additional vitamins and a more layered, fruit-forward flavor.
Where to Find ItThe new organic tea line is now available at Whole Foods locations nationwide, with a rollout timing that aligns squarely with the start of warmer weather. Given the early reaction online, it's likely one of those products that could pick up momentum quickly as more shoppers start spotting it in stores.
For now, it's another example of how brands are reworking familiar categories—this time taking bottled tea and nudging it closer to something that feels fresher, more flavorful, and a little more considered than what's typically in the cooler.

These Are the 2 Best Cooking Oils for High Cholesterol, Cardiologists Say
It's common to think that the best diet for heart health is low-fat or fat-free, so you may think you need to avoid cooking with oil (a tall task). But cardiologists say "fat" needs a nuanced rebrand.
"The idea that all fat is bad is a significant misnomer," explains Dr. Patrick Kee, MD., Ph.D, a cardiologist at Vital Heart & Vein. "While oils are calorie-dense, their effect on your heart depends entirely on their fatty acid composition."
He explains that oils high in saturated fat can raise LDL ("bad") cholesterol. "Saturated fats downregulate the receptors in your liver that clear it from your blood," Dr. Kee says. "Monounsaturated (MUFA) and polyunsaturated (PUFA) fats actually lower LDL cholesterol by upregulating those same liver receptors and improving the overall cholesterol ratio."
So, it makes sense that you'll want to find a cooking oil that helps improve your cholesterol, especially if you're currently using one that's high in saturated fat.
"Cooking oils can have direct effects on your good and bad cholesterol ratios, and also can help by adding in good fatty acids like omega-3 fatty acids, which also further improve cardiovascular health," explains Dr. Srihari S. Naidu, MD, a cardiologist and professor of medicine within New York Medical College’s Division of Cardiology. "So, choosing the right oil can be a total win."
Dr. Naidu says that having a working knowledge of cooking oils for cholesterol can also help if you eat out. "Don’t be shy about asking what oil they use when they prepare dishes," he urges.
But which cooking oils get a thumbs up from cardiologists? We spoke with three of them, and they agree that these cooking oils are the best for high cholesterol.

These Are the 2 Best Cooking Oils if You Have High Cholesterol, Cardiologists SayCardiologists recommend olive oil and avocado oil for high cholesterol.
"Olive oil, especially when used in place of saturated fats in cooking, can lower bad LDL cholesterol levels, increase good HDL levels and reduce oxidation of bad LDL, which is known to cause plaque buildup in arteries," explains Dr. Cheng-Han Chen, MD, a board-certified interventional cardiologist and medical director of the Structural Heart Program at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center.
Dr. Chen notes that avocado oil has a similar profile and effect on cholesterol. "Much like olive oil, avocado oil can lower bad LDL cholesterol levels, increase good HDL levels, and reduce oxidized LDL levels," he says.
Below, cardiologists dig into why olive and avocado oil are the best cooking oils for high cholesterol.
Olive oil and cholesterolDr. Naidu shares that olive oil deserves its golden reputation. "Olive oil is one of the best oils, especially extra virgin olive oil that has not been processed," he says. "This oil has the highest amount of the healthy monounsaturated fat."
Those monounsaturated fats help lower bad (LDL) cholesterol, reducing your risk of plaque buildup in the arteries and heart attack. A tablespoon of olive oil has:
- 120 calories
- 10 grams of unsaturated fat
- 2 grams of saturated fat
Dr. Naidu also loves that it has vitamins A, D, E and K and antioxidants like polyphenols, all of which can support your overall health.
"The refined—non virgin—olive oil loses some of its antioxidant qualities, so best to stick with EVOO (extra-virgin olive oil," he tells Parade.
Generally, Dr. Naidu notes that people can consume 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil daily, and even up to 4 tablespoons is fine. "This is good for whether you have a high risk for heart disease or not, as the benefits extend beyond cholesterol and can reduce risk of cancer and dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease," he explains.
Related: What’s Healthier, Canola Oil or Olive Oil? The Answer Isn’t as Black and White as You Might Think
Avocado oil and cholesterolA study conducted on rats suggests that avocado oil can also support healthy cholesterol levels by helping to reduce triglycerides and LDL (bad) cholesterol.
"Avocado oil is the second 'best' choice due to its similar monounsaturated fat profile to olive oil," Dr. Kee explains.
A tablespoon of avocado oil contains:
- 120 calories
- 10 grams of monounsaturated fat
- 2 grams of saturated fat
"We generally recommend roughly 1 to 2 tablespoons of avocado oil intake per day, in place of unhealthier—saturated and trans—fats," Dr. Chen says.
Related: The Cooking Oil To Avoid if You Have Fatty Liver Disease, According to Gastroenterologists
How Other Oils Can Affect Your CholesterolWhile olive and avocado take top honors as the best cooking oils for high cholesterol, Dr. Naidu says a few others are worth your while if you prefer them, including:
- Grape seed oil (rich in vitamin E and antioxidants)
- Sesame oil (equal amounts of polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats. "While it is still good, it’s not as balanced as olive or avocado oil; high antioxidants," Dr. Naidu says.)
- Walnut oil (high in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins B and E, iron and calcium)
Dr. Kee suggests avoiding:
- Palm oil (high in LDL-raising saturated fat)
- Partially hydrogenated oils (contain trans fats that can increase LDL cholesterol and lower HDL cholesterol)
- Repeatedly heated oils (reusing oil—common in deep-frying—"create toxic aldehydes and trans fats that promote inflammation," Dr. Kee says.)

How To Choose and Use an Oil That Supports Your CholesterolWhen shopping for and using cooking oil, you'll want to know what to look for on ingredient lists and how to incorporate it into your diet in a heart-healthy way. Cardiologists share tips we think you'll love.
1. Become label literateLook for phrases that don't leave anything to the imagination.
"It is best to look for a simple, clear ingredient list such as '100% extra virgin olive oil,' and avoid unclear phrases such as 'vegetable oil blend' or phrases that suggest extra processing, such as 'refined,'" Dr. Chen says.
Dr. Kee also recommends looking for:
- Cold-pressed or extra virgin, indicators of minimal processing and more polyphenols and tocopherols
- High oleic content, signs the oil has more heart-healthy, heat-stable monounsaturated fats
Also, check the saturated fat count. The American Heart Association suggests choosing oils with less than 4 grams of saturated fat per tablespoon.
2. Seek to replace, not just addEven cooking oils, such as olive and avocado oil, which contain healthy fats, are calorie-dense. You don't want to add these oils to a diet without subtracting less healthy fats used for cooking.
"The key is isocaloric substitution," Dr. Kee says.
That's a fancy way of saying that replacing 5% of your calories from saturated fats like butter with unsaturated oils can lower your risk of death and other health issues, like high cholesterol.
3. Consider what you're eatingOK, so you're cooking with olive or avocado oil—that makes your heart happy. But what's cooking?
"A healthy heart requires more than just the right oil," Dr. Kee emphasizes. "A complete diet must also balance carbohydrate and fiber intake, manage total calories and prioritize whole foods—like the whole avocado, which offers fiber and micronutrients that oil alone cannot provide."

Dolly Parton Cancels Las Vegas Shows In Latest Health Update: 'I Am Truly Sorry'
Dolly Parton announced Monday that she's canceling her Las Vegas as she shared her latest update on her health.
In a lengthy video posted to Instagram, the country icon said that ongoing problems with her kidney stones resulted in her "immune system and digestive system to be all out of whack."
"Think of me as like an old classic car that once restored can be better than ever," the 80-year-old said. "But when they raised the hood on this old antique, they realized that I need to rebuild my engine, and that my transmission is slipping, my oil pan is leaking, and my muffler is busted, and my shocks and pistons need to be replaced, and for sure, my spark plugs need to be changed. Because, you know, as well as I know, that I can't lose my spark."
View this post on InstagramIn her update Parton assured fans that she's "responding really well to meds and treatments, and I'm improving every day," although the medication makes her "swimmy-headed" and dizzy.
"I have great doctors, and I'm doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I'm going with that," she added.
She also spoke about having to cancel her upcoming residency, that had already been postponed once.
"I am truly sorry that I'm going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas," she said, however she noted that she's working on a Broadway musical inspired by her iconic hits as well as a new hotel and museum venture in Nashville.
Parton was initially slated to perform six shows at Caesar's Palace last December and the dates were pushed to this upcoming September.
This isn't the first time Parton has opened up about her health. In a March appearance at Dollywood she told the crowd, I’ve had a few little health issues, and we’re taking good care of them. I just kind of got worn down and worn out, grieving over [husband] Carl [Dean] and a lot of other little things going on.”
Of her late husband, she thanked fans for their support following the 1-year anniversary of his death.
"I will always love him and I'll always miss him," she said. "But you would be surprised at how much your love and concern meant to me during that time. So yes, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. You have been a big part of my healing."

The Wild 82-Year History of 'Gaslight': From Silver Screen to TikTok Buzzword
Happy anniversary to the movie that taught us to never trust a charming Frenchman. If you’ve ever told an ex they were gaslighting you because they swore they texted when they definitely didn't, you owe a royalty check. Specifically, you owe MGM. Eighty-two years ago, on May 4, 1944, Hollywood released a film so psychologically toxic it changed the way we describe being lied to.
Before it was a buzzword on TikTok or a reason to fire your therapist, Gaslight was a black-and-white thriller about a guy who really, really wanted some hidden jewels. And he was willing to drive his wife to the brink to get them.
Bergman moves into her dead aunt’s posh London townhouse with her new husband, Gregory. He’s charming and he’s played by the dashingly handsome Charles Boyer who isn't all as he appears to be.
Gregory is the bad guy. He starts hiding his wife’s brooches and pictures, then tells her she lost them. He makes the gas-powered wall lights flicker and dim, then swears she’s just seeing things. He begins a full-scale demolition of her sanity. Ingrid Bergman plays the wife, Paula, and her slow-motion collapse into a puddle of nerves is why she walked home with an Oscar.
She isn’t crazy. The lights are dimming because Gregory is up in the attic turning on the lamps to search for loot, which drains the pressure from the rest of the house.
The movie also gave us 18 year-old Angela Lansbury in her first-ever role, playing a cocky, flirtatious maid named Nancy who spends her time blowing cigarette smoke in Paula’s face and eyeing Gregory.
Lansbury's character sees right through the bad vibes. While Paula is upstairs doubting her own ears, Nancy is downstairs being the sharp-tongued realist who knows that the house is full of secrets. It’s the kind of breakout performance that makes viewers realize why she became a star and stayed one for the rest of her career.
The film isn't a whodunnit. Viewers know Gregory is the villain from the first twenty minutes. The horror comes from watching a smart woman lose her grip because the person she loves is the one loosening pushing her to the edge.
Next time you accuse someone of gaslighting you, after shutting it down, take an afternoon to go back to the source. Watch Bergman realize she isn't losing her mind. Because the moment when she finally confronts Gregory is better than any modern mic drop.

’70s Rock Band Abruptly Cancels Show Amid 50th Anniversary Tour
On Saturday night, the '70s rock band the Eagles performed at the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana. The set marked their first performance at a venue other than the Las Vegas Sphere since the start of their residency in September 2024. Unfortunately, their performance was cut short by 20 minutes.
The band played a 19-song setlist packed with hits from the group's peak and members' most notable solo projects, including guitarist Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good” and lead vocalist Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer." The Eagles opened their set with "Seven Bridges Road," a deviation from their Sphere opener, which has consistently been their 1977 hit "Hotel California."

At the beginning of the set, Henley admitted the festival was a different experience than the Sphere, joking with the crowd about being able to see the sun. “This is very different from the Sphere,” he said. “We got some sunshine up in here.”
After completing the majority of their set, the group wrapped up quickly, ending the performance with "Heartache Tonight" and leaving with 20 minutes to spare from their allotted time. Die-hard fans noted the group's rushed exit, as they failed to play one of their biggest hits, "Desperado," a song they have not omitted from a set in decades.
Following the performance, NOLA.com addressed the situation, reporting that the shortened set was due to the band's piano player experiencing a health issue.
“In the latter half of the show, the band's piano player reportedly suffered some sort of medical episode and couldn't continue to perform,” the site reported. “Without him, the band had to skip the piano-heavy ‘Desperado.’”
Details regarding the specificities of the medical emergency remain unclear. The Eagles are scheduled to continue with another show separate from the Sphere on May 5 in Atlanta, Georgia, as they move forward with their 50th anniversary tour, "The Long Goodbye – Act III."

Taylor Frankie Paul's 'Bachelorette' Season Will Reportedly Air This Summer on ABC
Taylor Frankie Paul's season of The Bachelorette may not be lost after all.
According to longtime Bachelor insider Reality Steve, the season will air this summer on ABC.
There has been no official word from the network just yet, but the blogger and podcaster has correctly spoiled numerous Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise seasons beginning in 2009.
"According to my sources, it is going to air," Reality Steve said in an Instagram video on Monday, May 4. "And not only that, it's not getting dumped on a streamer. It's gonna air on ABC this summer."
He then speculated that the official announcement would be made during Disney and ABC's Upfront on Thursday, May 12. Historically, the Upfront is used to showcase the network's upcoming lineup of shows for the summer and fall.
" I don't know what day it's gonna air. I don't know the details. I don't know the date that it starts," Reality Steve continued. " But considering we now know there is going to be a Bachelor season that will probably film in September through November...I would think they'd want Taylor Frankie Paul's season to be done airing by the time the next Bachelor season starts."
RELATED: ABC Officially Cancels Taylor Frankie Paul’s ‘Bachelorette’ Season
Paul’s season was scheduled to premiere on Mar. 22. On Mar. 19, ABC pulled the plug on her season after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appeared to show Paul assaulting her ex-boyfriendDakota Mortensen in 2023.
In a statement to TMZ, a Disney Entertainment spokesperson said, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”
The Draper and West Jordan police departments in Utah also opened separate domestic violence investigations regarding alleged altercations between Paul and Mortensen that occurred in February 2026.
In April, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office announced they declined to file charges against Paul for the alleged incidents.
If you or someone you know has been a victim of domestic violence, help is available 24 hours a day through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.
2018 Hit Film Ranked No. 1 Highest-Grossing Music Biopic of All Time
When developing a music biopic of a legendary artist, it's always a double-edged sword that can be a hit or miss among a die-hard fanbase. With the release of the biopic Michael, only one film still holds the spot of being the highest-grossing music biopic, even years after it was released in theaters.
Billboard compiled a list of some of the biggest Hollywood films that tackled the stories of some of the biggest music legends. The list includes hits like 1997's Selena, focusing on the Tejano music star, to Austin Butler's portrayal of Elvis Presley in the 2022 film Elvis. Michael was added to the list since its release on April 24, 2026, but only ranks at No. 2 as the highest-grossing film. It's made $424.8 million to date.
Landing at No. 1 eight years after its release is none other than Bohemian Rhapsody. Directed by Brian Singer and starring Rami Malek as the Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, the music biopic generated a jaw-dropping $910.8 million at the box office. So far, no other film installment in the genre has come close to beating it.
The movie took almost eight years to develop, as it was announced in 2010 with Sacha Baron Cohen originally attached to play the leading role. Cohen left the project in 2013 due to creative differences, with Malik taking on the role. Bohemian Rhapsody also faced turmoil when Singer was fired due to repeated absences and clashes with the crew. Dexter Fletcher came on as its new director, with Singer still retaining the main credit as the film's director.

Bohemian Rhapsody took theaters by storm, cataloging the formation of the British rock band in 1970, all the way to their infamous Live Aid performance at Wembley Stadium in 1985. The film depicted every moment of Mercury's rise to stardom, the creation of their biggest hits, Mercury's marriage, LGBTQ status, and his diagnosis of AIDS.
Despite its popularity, the film gained a mixed response from critics. Many were enamored by Malik's portrayal of the rock icon and the film's in-depth look at the band, but many felt it fell short due to Singer's direction. Some felt certain scenes connected awkwardly, and the film was even tagged as being one of the worst movies to win a Golden Globe.
Bohemian Rhapsody won four Oscars in 2019, with Malik for Best Actor, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing. It was nominated for Best Picture but lost to Green Book, and won Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes. Malik again won in the Best Actor category at the Golden Globe Awards, the SAG Awards, and at the BAFTAs.
Carley Fortune Has Succeeded Again with Latest Release — Just Prepare for a Few Tears
Calling all Carley Fortune fans. If you even considered sleeping on Our Perfect Storm, I’m here to tell you not to! If you thought you could hold off just after the release date to check it out, you will wish you had read it sooner.
The romantic beach read is everything we need to escape the horrors of the world right now. Well, for the most part. There is one thing that is sure to make you cry, especially as you realize that there’s an element of truth to it. I had to put the book down for a minute, collect myself, and then move on.
‘Our Perfect Storm’ Delivers an Exciting Friends-to-Lovers StoryGoing into the story, you know what to expect. Frankie and George have been best friends since they were nine, and we get to see the important moments of their lives together. They’re all through Frankie’s POV, which does lead to some limitations, and I would love to explore George’s life a little more.
The part I found myself intrigued by was George’s time as a reporter during the Canadian wildfires of 2023. Living just outside of the Greater Toronto Area myself, I remember the haze that came over. I remember the constant discussions, the smell of the smoke, despite it being so far away, and the question of what it would mean for those living in the areas heavily affected.
What I never considered was the danger reporters were putting themselves in by reporting on it all, and Our Perfect Storm touches on that a little. Sure, that wasn’t the point of the book, but I think it was a huge turning point for George, and I would love to see that story play out — just a little.
However, overall, we get the perfect friend-to-lovers story. There are times when it seems like George is focused a little too much on his life and what he can do, but at the heart of it all, he is just thinking of Frankie. He wants her to heal, and he throws himself into making the perfect plan for the honeymoon that she should have gone on.
You can tell that he knows her well, such as when they’re both checking in at the hotel. Just the decision of George taking Frankie’s name instead of the other way round makes it clear that he respects her for who she is, although it takes time to really figure that out as it doesn’t come up until later in the book.
The signs of George’s interest in Frankie are clear, but I adore that she doesn’t see them. After all, even she hasn’t really thought about her feelings for George, and it helps the slow burn work at the perfect pace.
Berkley | Penguin Random House
Carley Fortune’s Research Will Make You CryThis isn’t just a story about finding love, though. Fortune also has a message of people losing themselves in their relationships, especially women. Frankie was always at risk of that with her fiancé, Nate, but we also learn more about her mother.
For years, Frankie has held some animosity towards her mother for leaving for 18 months when she was a child. It’s only as she’s willing to talk to her mom about it that the truth finally comes out. Her mom didn’t just up and leave, even though it sounded like it, and there was a discussion with her father as well.
This is the part that will make you cry, and it’s all thanks to the research that Fortune did. I don’t want to delve into it too much, because it would be a spoiler, but it is to do with Frankie’s mom’s work. There’s a truth in the story that hurts the soul, especially if you’re like me and care more about animals than people, and if you start to think deeply about the truth to the story.
Sometimes, there are moments in stories that hit hard, and it’s toward the end that it happens. It was cathartic for me, but it wasn’t what I expected going into Our Perfect Storm, so I just want you to have the Kleenex ready. I had to put the book down, cry a little, and then get back into it to see how Frankie and George’s story would end.
I do appreciate the research Fortune does, though, and not just in this one element of truth. I was taken back to the 2023 wildfires, and I could vividly picture the locations around Tofino, without ever being there.
Overall, it’s a wonderful beach read. Fortune hasn’t lost her magic, and this is one you’ll not be able to put down — at least, until you start crying. Our Perfect Storm will be released on May 5, 2026, and you will need to head straight out to buy it!
