Holly Marie Combs is setting the record straight about her career, as the Charmed actor explains what led her to step away from Hollywood and take on new roles.

The 1998 WB series was Combs’s breakthrough role after having originally started her career in the CBS series Picket Fences in 1992. While having become a pop culture sensation in the role of Piper Halliwell for Charmed, Combs revealed she had “retired” from acting.

Her decision to put a halt on her acting career was discussed on her rewatch podcast, The House of Halliwell , on Tuesday, where she admits her children were a big factor. Combs had three children with her ex-husband and former Charmed key-grip David Donoho before they divorced in 2011. She later married restaurateur Mike Ryan and is a stepmother to his daughter.

“It was a lot of family,” she said. “During COVID, we had three teenagers. Well, it was three teenagers and a preteen in the house, and it was just mayhem and chaos.”

Taking care of her family wasn’t the only reason the Charmed star decided that her acting career wasn’t where it used to be. She admits that the roles she was being offered weren’t impressing her and were being more tailored to her age.

“The stuff that I was getting and coming across my desk was just nothing that I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is really great. I need to do this,’” she recalled. “And being in, you know, that 40 to 50 range, the job pool gets even smaller and smaller. And I feel like the roles get a little less interesting.”

Combs adds that, despite the roles offered being better suited to an older actor, the industry is “not as bad with the ageism as it used to be.” Many of her friends in the industry tried to pull her out of retirement, but she says she’s enjoying her life in Washington state and is “running 15 businesses.”

Is Combs closing the door entirely on never acting? It doesn’t appear so, as she teased that maybe once her middle child graduates, she will reconsider returning. The Pretty Little Liars star adds that she still loves her craft and even misses it from time to time.

“I miss it occasionally because, like you said, there’s those moments when you’re involved and you’re acting and you’re working that are just, I think it’s like being present,” she explained.

“That’s what escapism is. And we get to escape into this different character with a different set of situations than our own life. And there is something about being in that moment that is quite peaceful, even if you’re doing something highly dramatic.”

Combs’ last on-screen TV role was in 2019, when she appeared as a guest character for one episode of Grey’s Anatomy. She also produced the Sharkwater Extinction documentary a year earlier, and when it comes to the big screen, her last credited on-screen role was in Ocean’s Eleven in 2001, and her last narrator cameo was in Corky in 2022.

Five Finger Death Punch has made a special announcement for fans who cannot attend the band’s upcoming 20th anniversary show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in person.

The heavy metal band revealed that its Sept. 8, 2026 concert in Morrison, Colorado, will be livestreamed worldwide for free through Veeps. The show is part of Five Finger Death Punch’s 20th Anniversary Tour and will also celebrate the release of the band’s new album, Legacy.

The band shared the news on Instagram alongside a trailer for the event. 

“We’re excited to bring you a special livestream of our upcoming show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater, in partnership with Veeps on September 8th. Stream the show live and for FREE,” the caption read.

The livestream is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. MDT, 11 p.m. EDT, and 7 p.m. PST, according to tour information. 

The Red Rocks concert will feature a career-spanning set that brings together some of Five Finger Death Punch’s biggest songs and new material from Legacy, the band’s 10th studio album

The Sept. 8 show marks a major stop on Five Finger Death Punch’s North American anniversary tour. The band formed in Las Vegas in 2005 and has now reached its 20-year milestone.

Legacy arrived digitally on July 31, while physical editions, including CD, vinyl and cassette versions, are set to follow on Sept. 18.

The 10-track album includes the songs “Legacy,” “De Oppresso Liber,” “Eye Of The Storm,” “Nails In The Coffin,” “In Time,” “Unscathed,” “Joke’s On Me,” “Everybody Lies,” “Shelter” and “Scapegoat.”

The release also includes “Eye Of The Storm,” which became the band’s 18th No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. The achievement extended Five Finger Death Punch’s record for the most consecutive No. 1 songs in the chart’s 45-year history.

Founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory described, per Ghost Cult, where Legacy stands in the band’s career, saying:

“This album is our loud and clear answer to the question of whether a band can stay true to the signature sound that has become the soundtrack to millions of fans’ daily lives and still write something new and exciting. Legacy is an absolute monster, an unapologetic monument to how far we’ve come, and a clear signal that we’re not even thinking about slowing down. If you asked me to pick the one record that best represents the essence of this band, I would hand you this one.”

The Red Rocks performance is the first date on the next stretch of Five Finger Death Punch’s North American 20th Anniversary Tour. Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire are set to appear on the tour, although Jinks will not perform at the Sept. 24 show in Phoenix or the September 25 stop in Albuquerque, according to THEPRP.

After Red Rocks, the band will visit cities including Auburn, Ridgefield, Wheatland, Mountain View, Long Beach, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, Kansas City, Tampa, Raleigh, Charlotte, Virginia Beach, Greenville and Columbus.

The North American run is scheduled to end on Oct. 23 in Bristow, Virginia.

Five Finger Death Punch will then return to Europe in January 2027 for an arena tour with special guests Lamb Of God and Bleed From Within.

Just more than a year after his death, Ozzy Osbourne’s family is ensuring his legacy lives on. He’s set to be the latest musician to land a biopic.

Osbourne’s son, Jack Osbourne, is leading the charge on the project, and he shared a recent update that showed promise. The script is “done.” Now they’re looking for directors, and then it’ll be time to see if they can land the person they want to take on the lead role.

Osbourne has told E! News that he does have someone in mind to play his father. He isn’t allowed to talk about it right now, but they are in the process of conversations at the moment. He’s hopeful that it all works out.

Something he promises is that the biopic won’t be “artsy.” He knows that the fans won’t want that, and he is passionate about making sure he gives “the fans what they want.” There are “many reasons” to not make it an “artsy, esoteric biopic,” as well. It’s probably not something the late Prince of Darkness would have wanted.

The biopic about the Black Sabbath frontman has been something the family has worked on for a long time. Back in 2021, Ozzy’s own X (formerly Twitter) account made a statement that there was work being done on a project that would chronicle the legendary life of the man. More than that, it would focus on the great love story between himself and his wife, Sharon. Lee Hall was attached to write it.

However, on July 22, 2025, the 76-year-old rock star died of a heart attack, shortly after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and coronary heart disease. There had been few comments about a future biopic after that, as the family dealt with their grief, but the work has continued behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old son of the Prince of Darkness has continued to work on other projects. He most recently took part in the UK reality series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, and he’s been working on Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror, a series that is dedicated to paranormal investigations.

He has also been focused on preserving his father’s digital fingerprint, but using AI frameworks to ensure long-term archiving. During the E! News interview, he also talked about his streaming platform Spark, which is a hub for all things paranormal. Considering his work in paranormal investigations, he shared “it all made sense to me,” and it certainly does.

With a career dating back to the mid 1980s, Emmy-winning actor John Leguizamo has worked alongside some of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, from Matt Damon and Patrick Swayze to Leonardo DiCaprio and Keanu Reeves.

As many notable faces as Leguizamo worked with, one notable actor that Leguizamo confessed he absolutely “hated” was ’90s action star, Steven Seagal.

In a 2023 interview with ComicBook.com, Leguizamo discussed his run-ins with Seagal during their time working on the 1996 action movie, Executive Decision.

At the time, Leguizamo said that his experiences working with Seagal were so bad, he wound up basing his portrayal of a washed-up B-movie actor on Seagal for his role in the 2022 comedy horror movie, The Menu.

“I wouldn’t have done it as myself,” Leguizamo said of the inspiration behind his character. “What, am I going to spoof myself like I’m a failed actor? Hell, no. I wouldn’t have done that. I used Steven Seagal because I hate him.”

Describing Seagal as a “bully,” the Odyssey star explained, “I was playing a washed-up action star, so I thought [Seagal] was perfect for it.”

“I kind of based mine on Steven Seagal. I had a bad run-in with him,” the actor continued. “We did a movie together. It was Executive Decision. He’s kind of a horrible human.”

In a separate interview with The AV Club back in 2012, Leguizamo even alleged that Seagal physically assaulted him upon their first meeting on the set of the film.

“We start rehearsing and he came in and was like, ‘I’m in command. What I say is law.’ So I started, like, [laughed]. I mean, who the f**k talks like that? Who comes into rehearsal and says that sh*t? So I started laughing and he slammed me with an aikido elbow against a brick wall and knocked all the air out of me,” Leguizamo said.

In 1959, a 16-year-old Tuesday Weld landed the role that would help make her one of Hollywood’s most talked-about young stars.

More than six decades later, Weld is celebrating another milestone. The retired actress turns 83 on Aug. 27, and she is now the last surviving original cast member of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.

Weld played Thalia Menninger, the beautiful, calculating high school classmate who captured Dobie’s heart while keeping a much more practical eye on his wallet. She was a series regular during the first season and later returned for guest appearances in seasons 3 and 4.

The other four principal members of the original cast have all died. Dwayne Hickman, who played Dobie, died in 2022 at 87; Bob Denver, who played Maynard G. Krebs, died in 2005 at 70; Frank Faylen, who played Dobie’s father, Herbert, died in 1985 at 79; and Florida Friebus, who played his mother, Winifred, died in 1988 at 78.

Weld had already been working for years by the time Dobie Gillis premiered.

Born Susan Ker Weld in Manhattan on Aug. 27, 1943, she began modeling as a child after her father’s death left the family struggling financially. She made her television debut at 12 and appeared that same year in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Wrong Man.

By the end of the decade, Weld had appeared opposite Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward in Rally ‘Round the Flag, Boys! and played Danny Kaye’s daughter in The Five Pennies. Then 20th Century Fox cast her as Thalia on Dobie Gillis, reportedly paying the teenager $35,000 for the year.

Although Weld stayed with the series as a regular for only one season, the role generated considerable national attention. In 1960, she was named a co-winner of the Golden Globe for Most Promising Female Newcomer for her work in Dobie Gillis and The Five Pennies.

Her career quickly moved beyond television.

Weld appeared opposite Elvis Presley in 1961’s Wild in the Country and later starred with Steve McQueen in Soldier in the Rain and The Cincinnati Kid.

But Weld’s career is nearly as fascinating for the movies she didn’t make.

She was Stanley Kubrick’s first choice to play the title character in Lolita, but turned it down with an explanation that became one of her most memorable quotes: “I didn’t have to play it. I was Lolita.”

She also turned down roles in Bonnie and Clyde, Rosemary’s Baby, True Grit, Cactus Flower and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. Weld later offered a startling explanation for some of those decisions, saying she deliberately avoided projects she suspected would become major commercial successes.

“Do you think I want success?” she said in an interview originally conducted in 1971. Discussing Bonnie and Clyde, Weld said she knew “down deep” that the film was going to be a huge hit.

“I may be self-destructive, but I like taking chances with movies,” she explained. “I like challenges.”

And Weld had a memorable description for the unusual career she had built.

“I’m happy being a legend,” she said. “I think the Tuesday Weld cult is a very nice thing.”

That unconventional approach ultimately produced an eclectic résumé.

Weld starred opposite Anthony Perkins in the 1968 cult favorite Pretty Poison, Gregory Peck in I Walk the Line and Jack Nicholson and Orson Welles in A Safe Place. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for 1972’s Play It as It Lays.

Then came one of the biggest honors of her career. Weld received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Katherine in 1977’s Looking for Mr. Goodbar. She later earned an Emmy nomination for The Winter of Our Discontent and a BAFTA nomination for Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America.

Her later films included Thief, Author! Author!, Falling Down and Feeling Minnesota. Her final screen appearances came in 2001 with Investigating Sex and Chelsea Walls.

Decades earlier, while still trying to make sense of a childhood spent working and a career that had begun before she was old enough to choose it for herself, Weld offered a striking description of where she stood.

“Half of me feels so incredibly old and tired, and the other half hasn’t even begun, hasn’t touched the good, whole part of life,” she said. “But, for the first time, I feel really free.”

Now, more than 65 years after Thalia Menninger first set her sights on Dobie Gillis, Weld celebrates her 83rd birthday as the last surviving original cast member of the show that helped introduce her to America.

Actor Samuel Monroe Jr., who is best known for his role in “Menace II Society,” has died at the age of 52 after a battle with meningitis.

His mother, Joyce Patton, told TMZ that the actor died around 10:24 PM PT on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at a hospital. She shared the news of his death on Facebook.

“I want to thank all of my Facebook family and friends new and old for praying for Samuel Monroe, Jr., my son,” she wrote. “But today God called him home. Please honor my final request to pray for the family, especially his 3 children.”

Monroe was hospitalized in April with a bad case of meningitis and MRSA pneumonia, which is a severe lung infection. He was ultimately placed on life support in a medically induced coma.

Along with his role in 1993’s Menace II Society, he also appeared in Tales From The Hood, Set It Off, Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, and The Player’s Club. Monroe also appeared on television shows including NYPD Blue, Murder One, Smart Guy, Southland, and The Lion’s Den.

Fans paid tribute following the news.

“Damn OG I was really hoping he was gonna pull thru, he really fought a hard fight & now you’re at peace now R.I.P.,” one person commented.

“Rest in peace. Menace II Society changed an entire generation of film, and Samuel Monroe Jr. will always be part of that legacy,” another person posted.

“One of the greatest villain actors of our generation. Rest In Peace King,” a fan wrote.

“Him playing a parody of his Menace II Society character in Don’t Be A Menace is a Top 10 all-time comedic moment for me, R.I.P.,” another fan said.

“RIP Samuel Monroe Jr. 52 is too young. He was one of those 90s character actors who showed up in the right movies at the right time: Menace II Society (Ilena’s cousin) and The Players Club (Junior, opposite Ice Cube). Small roles, but they stuck because the films themselves became cult classics,” one fan stated.

Christina Applegate is mourning Tim Curry with a heartfelt tribute to the actor she called one of her idols, recalling a final hug that now feels especially poignant.

Applegate, 54, shared her memories of Curry following his death, reflecting on the years she had the pleasure of spending time with him. She said she last saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show star earlier this year at Cinespia, where they embraced during a screening of the cult classic. In hindsight, Applegate said the moment “felt like a goodbye.” Curry died at age 80 on Aug. 25.

She shared a photo of Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Instagram, writing, “This one stung. I had the pleasure hanging with him throughout the years. I last saw him earlier this year at Cinespia where they showed Rocky Horror and I gave him a huge hug. It felt like a goodbye. Goodbye to one of my idols.”

In October 2025, Applegate attended a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show alongside Lou Adler, Barry Bostwick and Curry, underscoring her longtime admiration for the actor. She is also among the stars featured in an upcoming biographical documentary about Curry, spearheaded by filmmaker Kathleen Robertson. Applegate’s admiration for Curry goes back decades; she has said she grew up with his poster on her wall and recently opened up about his impact on her while participating in the documentary.

Robertson has also opened up about Curry’s death, sharing her own tribute on Instagram. “This is a very sad day. Going into this documentary, I knew Tim Curry was an icon. I knew the work. I knew the voice, the wit, the danger — that completely singular thing he brought into the world. But then I got to know him deeper than before,” she wrote alongside a series of photos.

Days of Our Lives fan favorite Robert Scott Wilson is hyping up his character, Alex Kiriakis, and his upcoming storyline as game-changing, one viewers will definitely want to tune in for.

Erin Goldsby recently interviewed Wilson for The Soap Scene, where he discussed his current storyline, balancing his life with his wife, Stephanie (Abigail Klein), and the reintroduction of Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) and his daughter Kelsey Kiriakis.

During the conversation, Wilson teased that an upcoming big storyline for his character. “It’s a bombshell, it’s an absolute bombshell that, you know, rocks Alex to his core,” he shared.

Wilson went on to describe the storyline as one that “makes him [Alex] question everything,” including his family, “the woman he loves,” as well as who he is.

The actor explained that the storyline is “everything tied up in one bombshell,” and, as excited as he is for viewers to see things play out, he added that it will be a “heavy one” and that viewers should be prepared to watch the journey unfold.

No specific storyline details or timeline have been revealed at this point; however, due to Days of Our Lives’ advance filming schedule, it is expected that the storyline will play out within the next ten months.

Alex has been involved in many front-burner storylines since his conception in 1989, as the product of an affair between Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Anjelica Deveraux (Jane Elliot, later Judith Chapman, most recently played briefly by Morgan Fairchild). Initially believed to be the son of Harper Deveraux (Joseph Campanella), it was quickly revealed that Harper was sterile and unable to have children. Justin’s uncle Victor (John Aniston) attempted to cover everything up by marrying Anjelica and posing as Alex’s father, before the truth was exposed.

Viewers will have to stay tuned to figure out exactly what this “bombshell” storyline is and how it ties into the history of the character.

Peter Cullen, an actor best known for voicing Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise, has died at the age of 85.

TMZ was the first to report the news, although there was a post on X (formerly Twitter) that initially shared the passing and was considered a hoax at first.

He died peacefully at home on Aug. 26, 2026.

An official cause of death has not been released at the time of writing this. We will update when we know more.

The TMZ report shares that his family shared that he was at home, surrounded by his family, with the family asking everyone to remember the legacy he leaves behind.

The full statement reads: “Peter Cullen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family – and held in the hearts of his many friends and countless fans worldwide. His family asks that you honor his remarkable legacy by serving your communities and leading others with compassion, integrity, and loyalty and always remember ‘be strong enough to be gentle.'”

The 85-year-old actor was best known for voicing Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise, starting with the original 1980s animated TV series. He then returned to voice the character in the Michael Bay movies, where he brought one of the most epic of speeches to Peter.

Another iconic character he voiced as Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, a franchise that turns 100 in 2026, and he returned for The Tigger Movie in 2000 and many more including Pooh’s Heffalump Movie in 2005. On top of that, he was the voice of Mario in the Donkey Kong animated series in the 1980s.

As for movies, he continued to lend his voice to some of the most legendary characters, including Predator in the 1987 movie of the same name.

Fans immediately took to social media to express the loss, especially in the days following the deaths of Dolly Parton and Tim Curry.

One noted on Instagram, “You have no idea how much this hurts my heart. RIP Sir Peter Cullen.”

A second shared their shock at the number of celebrities passing away recently, “Oh no… a fourth death in less than 10 days?!?! RIP. Goodbye Optimus!”

Someone quickly followed up with, “this would be the 5th death!”

It’s strange to think that, in an alternative universe, the late great Tim Curry served as the main voice for Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker.

While that honor eventually went to Star Wars alum Mark Hamill, Curry originally served as the voice of the character in the iconic TV show, Batman: The Animated Series.

Introducing a darker, more sophisticated version of Batman’s arch enemy than fans were used to seeing, Curry’s time on the show proved incredibly short-lived.

After the actor developed a serious case of bronchitis that halted his voice acting abilities, the producers wound up replacing him with Hamill, who redubbed all of Curry’s work within the series up to that point in time.

In the decades since, many of Batman: The Animated Series’ cast and crew have spoken about the “terrifying” rendition of the Joker that Curry left behind.

“Tim came with a natural theatrical sort of presence with his delivery, which was something we definitely wanted,” said producer Eric Radmoski (via Looper). “We didn’t want the Joker to be a bumbling, goofy, idiot.”

Series star Kevin Conroy, who famously voiced the role of Batman throughout his career, added that Curry left quite an impression behind for his role as the Joker, calling his portrayal of the character “crazy scary.”

Comparing both Curry and Hamill, Conroy explained, “Mark was the second Joker that we dealt with. The original actor was Tim Curry. He’s a fantastic actor. He’s a wonderful actor with a great career, and they replaced him after a couple of episodes. Because Tim’s Joker was dark and scary. Mark came in and did a Joker that was dark and funny. So it was just a different take on the Joker.”

Elaborating on the differences in another interview, Conroy continued, “Tim was great as the Joker. Tim was scary, ‘lock up the kids, don’t let them see it’ scary. Like sick, demented scary Joker. Mark is scary funny, like this is a great rollercoaster ride. Tim was fantastic. He was just doing it like it was a gothic horror show.”

Peter Cullen, who is best known for voicing Optimus Prime in the ‘Transformers’ franchise, has died at the age of 85, TMZ reports.

His agent told the outlet that he died on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at his Los Angeles home. No cause of death has been released at the time of publishing.

“Peter Cullen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family – and held in the hearts of his many friends and countless fans worldwide. His family asks that you honor his remarkable legacy by serving your communities and leading others with compassion, integrity, and loyalty and always remember ‘be strong enough to be gentle,'” his family said in a statement in TMZ.

Cullen first stepped into the role of Optimus Prime in the original 1980s “Transformers” animated TV series. He then returned for the Michael Bay movies.

“The phenomenon of Transformers itself is mind-shaking,” he said in a past interview. “Being a part of it is not only historical, it’s a part of your life that says, ‘Gee, I’m glad.’ I did something in my life that stood out, and I’m really grateful for that. Humbled by it.”

He is also known for voicing Predator in the 1987 “Predator” film, as well as Eeyore in the 1988-91 series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Monterey Jack in “Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers.”

Following the news, tributes poured in for the legendary voice actor.

“This is getting out of hand. My childhood is dying left and right. Rip to Peter,” one person commented.

“First Dolly, then Tim, and now Peter?! Why are so many amazing talents passing away?!,” another person wrote.

“R.I.P. Peter Cullen, he was truly a legend, he will forever be our prime,” a fan said.

“I’m sending my condolences to peter cullen family and friends and he was very talented voice actor for so many iconic characters,” another fan posted.

Dolly Parton was a friend to all — even muppets.

While Miss Piggy is Kermit the Frog‘s forever No. 1 girl, Parton was certainly a close second. They shared the stage on a few occasions, but their 1987 cover of Sly Stone’s “Everyday People” is special, especially in the days following the country music icon’s death at the age of 80.

Sung as a duet, Parton and Kermit had undeniable chemistry. This rendition, seen below, was part of an episode of Parton’s variety show, Dolly. While The Muppet Show was notorious for inviting A-list guest stars onto its set, Kermit the Frog got to experience the red carpet treatment himself when he was invited to perform on Dolly in 1987.

The scene — the “Dolly’s Date” segment — found Kermit and Ms. Parton on barstools in a bar. After cracking a few punny frog jokes, they got right to it, with Parton’s 100-Watt smile practically lighting up the set.

Dolly ran twice as a series, in the 1970s and the 1980s. This iteration, which aired on ABC, was on television for less than a year — Sept. 1987 through May of 1988 — but she welcomed a long list of superstar guests in that time. Bruce Willis, Oprah Winfrey, Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, and even Miss Piggy graced the stage of the comedy hour.

The “Jolene” singer died in her hometown of Nashville, Tenn., on Aug. 25 after a brief battle with cancer. Tributes flooded in immediately after the news broke, with messages of shock and love coming from all over the world. Even The Muppets had to pay their respects to a woman who “filled the world with light.”

“She was the ultimate singer, songwriter, actress, performer, and philanthropist,” a note on The Muppets’ Instagram account reads. “We are so grateful for every second we got to spend with her onstage and off.”

And they’re right — there will never be another quite like Dolly Parton.

As for “Everyday People,” it was written by frontman Sly Stone in 1968 and became Sly & the Family Stone’s first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1969, as well as on the Soul Singles chart. 

Billboard even ranked it as the No. 5 song of 1969. 

18 years later, Parton and Kermit gave it an unforgettable spin.

When news broke that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were returning to the UK, many questioned why. Then the topic of Markle’s acting career came up, as she reportedly entered talks to land a role in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen Season 3.

Since then, there have been reports denying it and others making it clear that it is still a possibility. Netflix has finally reacted to the claims, offering a cryptic update shortly after the official renewal of The Gentlemen Season 3.

At first, it looked like Markle wouldn’t join the series. While Ritchie initially had some potential intentions, the backlash from the viewer base led to conversations coming to an end. However, Netflix now says “all bets are off” when it comes to a potential role.

It’s one of the most cryptic clues going. The statement came while Netflix’s scripted chief in the UK, Manda Levin, spoke to people at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Aug. 26, 2026. She refused to expand on that point, hinting that talks could still be ongoing.

Talks had started before The Gentlemen even landed an official greenlight for Season 3. That came this week, just ahead of the Season 2 release on Netflix. The second season will premiere on Sept. 3, 2026, and eyes are on how Eddie will take on a new role within the drug empire that was secretly running on his family’s estate.

Markle’s last acting role was Suits back in 2017, where she played Rachel Zane. She remained with the show for seven years before stepping away, and then shortly after that, she stepped away from acting completely after marrying Prince Harry. The two originally had working royal duties, but that ended in 2020, and shortly after that, they moved to California. However, she did recently play a version of herself on the Prime Video series Close Personal Friends.

The move back to the UK comes as a shock to many, but some have speculated that it’s due to Netflix dropping its deal with the Duchess of Sussex and canceling her show, With Love, Meghan, after two seasons. Prince Harry and Markle landed in the UK on Aug. 26, and their children are already enrolled in school for September, so while it’s unclear how long they’re staying, it looks like it’s long enough to affect Archie and Lilibet’s education.

Series creator Norman Lear took real-world arguments, politics, and social tension right out of American living rooms and put them on primetime, and millions of viewers were completely hooked.

Led by Carroll O’Connor’s legendary performance as the series loudmouth lead character, the show turned taboo topics into Tuesday night watercooler talk. More than half a century later, Lear’s bold CBS masterpiece still stands as one of the bravest, funniest, and most influential shows to ever air on television.

The song remains so legendary that Movie Web ranked it in a 2026 list as one of the Greatest Television Shows of the 1970s. They wrote, “Through its clever comedy, the show was essential to introduce mainstream television to subjects that wouldn’t have worked in any other setting.”

Some of the taboo topics All in the Family tackled were racism, integration, feminism, homophobia, politics, religion, and antisemitism. While these issues were regularly discussed in mainstream media, the comedy series was the first to bring them to American living rooms, bookended with jokes.

Ask any long-time fan to pick the show’s most powerful hour, and they’ll point straight to Edith Bunker’s 50th birthday. Powered by Jean Stapleton‘s incredible talent, the emotional storyline remains one of the most talked-about moments in TV history.

REMIND Magazine featured the episodes as one of the series’ most groundbreaking. It was the first time depictions of sexual assault were shown in a primetime sitcom.

In Season 8, the episode titled “Edith’s 50th Birthday” aired on October 16, 1977. The two-part episode began innocently, with Archie, Gloria (Sally Struthers), and Mike (Rob Reiner) planning a surprise 50th birthday party for Edith.

She answered a knock at the door from a man claiming to be a police detective tracking a predator in the neighborhood. However he was the real predator and the atmosphere on the episode immediately shifted to heart-stopping suspense.

As Edith confronted her attacker, she realized she had to think quickly to escape. She realized her cake was burning, and in an instant, she pushed the pan into her attacker’s face, pushed him out the door, and escaped.

Lear told The Hollywood Reporter of the scene, “I never heard a bigger sound on television than when Edith got away from the guy who was attempting to rape her. That was an explosion.” He added, “For the episode that dealt with Edith’s attempted rape, we consulted a woman who specialized in that area. As a result of all the press that episode got, she started the Rape Treatment Center in Santa Monica, which has had a huge influence on the issue across the country.”

24 might have been one of the most popular TV series of its era, but one notable cast member expressed some harsh feelings about their involvement in the award-winning thriller series.

In an interview with ABC News back in 2014, 24 star Freddie Prinze Jr. revealed his “terrible” experiences working on the show, thanks in large part to what he viewed as an unfavorable working relationship with Kiefer Sutherland.

“I did 24, and it was terrible. I hated every moment of it,” Prinze explained. “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash. I’d say it to his face. I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”

Prinze went on to explain that his time on the show weighed so heavily on him, he briefly left acting behind for a time, saying the show “made me want to quit the business.”

For a time, Prinze went on to work with WWE as a writer, recalling that his experiences working with the famously colorful promotion was less negative than his time with Sutherland.

“I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ’s sake, and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer,” the Scooby Doo star said. “But at least he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m six feet and he’s five four.”

Responding to Prinze’s claims, Sutherland’s representatives shared a statement reflecting on the two actors’ time together on 24.

“Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr. more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie‘s grievances,” Sutherland’s representative told The Hollywood Reporter. “Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”

Was Lindsay Clancy able to speak when Patrick Clancy found her on the ground outside of their Duxbury home?

This has been an ongoing question in the Clancy case, with many people confused about Patrick’s testimony. While on the witness stand, Patrick said that Lindsay told him that she tried to take her own life. He also said that when he asked her where their three children were, she told him that they were in the basement.

Testimony from emergency personnel who arrived on the scene after Patrick called 911 revealed that Lindsay was unable to speak—that she was moaning and mumbling while on the ground.

In an effort to clear up these seemingly contradicting statements, NewsNation’s Brian Entin asked Lindsay’s attorney for clarification. Entin caught up with Reddington on Aug. 26, one day before closing arguments were set to take place.

“Did Lindsay speak when she was outside on the ground? Because it was confusing that the psychiatrist said that Patrick said she did, but then…”

“I wouldn’t believe him if he said, in the middle of a blizzard, that it was snowing out, okay? So, I don’t care what the psychiatrist said,” Reddington replied.

He went on to clearly state that his client was “unable to speak…she just moaned and made grunting noises, that’s all.”

When Entin followed up with, “so why would Patrick say that?” Reddington responded, “How do I know?”

Lindsay, 36, has pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility to killing her three young children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, at the family’s home in Duxbury in January 2023. The defense is arguing that Lindsay was experiencing postpartum psychosis and is not criminially responsible for the murders.

After closing arguments, the jury will deliberate, taking all of the evidence and testimony into consideration. The jury has been given the following options when it comes to the case’s outcome: First-degree murder, Second-degree murder, Manslaughter, Not guilty, or Not criminally responsible by reason of insanity.
