Former NFL RB Chris Johnson Reveals ALS Diagnosis
Former running back Chris Johnson revealed that he was diagnosed with ALS in 2025 during an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" that aired Monday, June 29.
Johnson used a speech-generating device based on recordings of his voice to speak during the interview.
"There's no history of ALS in my family," he said. "My doctors believe my case is what's called sporadic ALS, which is actually how the vast majority of ALS cases happen... That's one of the reasons this disease can be so shocking. It can happen to someone who never expected it."
According to the Cleveland Clinic, ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a "neurodegenerative condition that affects how nerve cells communicate with your muscles," which can lead to muscle weakness and impacts how a person moves, speaks, and breathes.
Johnson's NFL career spanned 10 seasons, beginning with the Tennessee Titans from 2008 to 2013 before going on to sign with the New York Jets for the 2014 season. He then was with the Cardinals from 2015 to 2017. During his career, he broke the NFL's single-season record for yards from scrimmage in 2009, when he finished with 2,509. That year, he was named The Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Following the news, Johnson's former teams shared messages of support.
"Some people leave a mark on an organization that you just can't put into words. Chris Johnson is one of those people for us. His leadership on the field, in addition to his impact in the locker room and Nashville community, has written him permanently into the story of this franchise," Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said. "Learning this news is extremely difficult, and we all support Chris every step of the way throughout his journey. We are holding him and his family close, and join our fans around the world in expressing our love for Chris."
"The Cardinals join the entire football community in sending strength, love and support to Chris Johnson. We know he will face this latest challenge with the same tenacity and toughness as he has all others," Arizona added.
Iconic ’80s Rock Band Faces Uncertain Future After 2 Members Quit Touring
An iconic British new wave band has been forced to share a shocking update on the future of live shows.
The '80s rockers New Order are scheduled to play Festival Fauna Primavera in Chile during the last weekend in November, marking the band's first performance there in seven years. High up on the billing, the "Blue Monday" hitmakers will be headlining alongside The Strokes and FKA Twigs.
However, a statement released on June 19 revealed that drummer Stephen Morris and keyboard player Gillian Morris, two of the founding members, will no longer be performing on tour due to health issues.
"Due to personal health reasons, Stephen and Gillian won't be touring for the foreseeable future and will not be joining for this show," a statement read, per The Mirror. Bernard, Phil and Tom are really sorry that Stephen and Gillian can't join us this time, but unfortunately the circumstances make it impossible."
Stephen and Gillian's departure means that only one of the original founding members, Bernard Sumner, will be performing live. Keyboard player Phil Cunningham and bassist Tom Chapman joined the group down the line.
Fans have speculated that there were issues within the band behind the scenes after former bassist and songwriter Peter Hook appeared in a YouTube video discussing Stephen and Gillian's decision to step back from touring.
“It’s quite interesting because supposedly Barney is touring in New Order on his own this year because Steve and Gillian have left," he said in an interview with Rock Daydream Nation, which aired on June 28. "So, now, Barney is New Order, which is quite interesting, and he’s actually booked a gig in Chile that he will be playing as the only member of New Order.”
Hook said that this line-up shake-up is "quite rich," as Hook and Sumner, Stephen, and Gillian have were previously entwined in a longstanding legal battle over song royalties.
He continued, "They actually sued me for passing myself off as New Order when we were doing the court case, they brought a case against me for passing myself off as New Order and Joy Division at the same time, which is pretty good going isn’t it that.”

JCPenney to Offer a Free $10 Shopping Credit When You Show Your Gas Receipt—Here's How to Get It
The upcoming holiday weekend brings a rare collision between the gas pump and the department store cash register.
JCPenney announced a promotion targeting travelers facing high summer travel costs. On Friday, July 3, the legacy retailer will hand out $10 shopping credits to any customer who walks into a brick-and-mortar store with a gas receipt.
The single-day event, dubbed "Fuel Up and Save," functions as a dollar-for-dollar trade. A physical paper receipt or a digital confirmation on a smartphone screen showing a recent fuel purchase unlocks $10 off any transaction of $10 or more.
For holiday commuters, the timing is kismet. The Independence Day weekend historically represents the busiest driving period of the summer season, leaving millions of Americans watching numbers spin at the pump before hitting the interstate. JCPenney is betting that a direct discount on apparel, home goods, or travel gear will lure those drivers off the highway and into the store.
“JCPenney has always been there to help families stretch their budgets without asking them to compromise on style, quality or value,” Michelle Wlazlo, Brand CEO of JCPenney said in a statement. “You’re already heading to the gas pump, so why not use the opportunity to put some money back in your pocket? Fuel Up and Save is a fun way to take an everyday expense and turn it into something rewarding at JCPenney, so you can spend the holiday weekend making memories with the people you love—not worrying about every dollar spent getting there.”
The move could be seen as a play for foot traffic during a critical summer sales window. Brick and mortar stores frequently struggle to capture the attention of consumers focused on outdoor recreation and travel during early July. By anchoring the promotion to gas station receipts, the company bypasses traditional digital coupons to meet consumers directly at their point of financial strain.
The promotion carries few structural hurdles, operating as a functional giveaway for anyone purchasing a small item or basic essentials. The retail giant confirmed the credit applies across standard inventory departments, making it a viable option for last-minute holiday weekend needs like sunscreen, beach towels, or basic summer basics.
Shoppers looking to capitalize on the trade need to keep their gas receipts during their fuel stops. Store doors open on Friday at normal morning hours across nationwide locations, and the promotion will run through closing time Friday night.
The deal is limited to one per customer and requires the transaction to take place inside a physical store location, meaning online orders won't qualify for the gas receipt exchange.
Sammy Davis Jr. 'Hated' the Only No. 1 Song He Ever Recorded, 'The Candy Man': 'This is Going Straight into the Toilet'
As one of the most accomplished performers of his generation, it's safe to say that Sammy Davis Jr. achieved many different accolades in the entertainment industry, from starring in numerous box office hits to singing countless crowd-pleasing songs throughout his lifetime.
As many fantastic singles as Davis released, however, the singer only managed to top the charts with one song: the biggest hit of his career, "The Candy Man."
Released as part of Davis' album Sammy Davis Jr. Now in April 1972, "The Candy Man" was originally written as part of the 1971 film,Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, with the lyrics alluding to the title character's eccentric love of chocolate, candy and other sweet confectionaries.
While Davis' cover of the song went on to achieve prominent success in the mainstream music industry, the singer himself apparently despised "The Candy Man," preferring to record the single in a hasty two-take recording session rather than spend an unnecessary amount of time on it.
According to Stereogum, Davis specifically disliked the lack of "romance" in the song, viewing it as a lighter tune that lacked the signature characteristics of the singer's more prominent musical ventures.
"It's horrible," Davis said of "The Candy Man." "It's a timmy-two-shoes, it's white bread, cute-ums, there's no romance. Blechhh!"
When listening to the playback of his recording sessions, Davis went so far as to tell his manager, "This record is going straight into the toilet. Not just around the rim, but into the bowl, and it may just pull my whole career down with it."
As fate would have it, the song went on to appear at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart starting June 10, 1972, remaining in that prestigious spot for a total of three weeks. By the end of the year, Billboard even ranked "The Candy Man" as the number-five song of 1972, as well as earning Davis a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male at the 15th Grammy Awards.
LeBron James' Wife Savannah James Announces Career News
The wife of NBA superstar LeBron James announced the launch of Signed, a new holding company she co-founded with longtime friend and business partner April McDaniel.
The announcement came through Instagram, where James shared a photo with McDaniel and revealed the milestone with a personal message about the journey that led to the company's creation.
"For me, building has never been about doing more. It’s been about doing what matters with the right people. Signed is the result of years of intuition, trust, and ambition and I’m excited for what we’ll build next,” she said.
Signed brings together the pair's growing portfolio of women-focused businesses and media projects while laying the foundation for future brands under one umbrella.

According to Fast Company, Signed will serve as the parent company for three existing ventures founded by James and McDaniel.
The company will oversee creative agency Crown+Conquer, which McDaniel founded in 2016, the membership community Let It Break, launched in 2024 and the podcast Everybody's Crazy, which debuted in 2024.
View this post on InstagramThe new company is launching in partnership with MarcyPen Capital Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm co-founded by Jay-Z.
James and McDaniel also hired Christopher Gray as chief creative officer. Gray previously worked at Nike and Wieden+Kennedy London and will help guide the company's creative direction.
James said surrounding themselves with experienced professionals was an important part of building the company.
"I’ve always been a champion of experts. There’s always somebody that’s smarter. There’s always somebody who’s more efficient. So if I can place those people around us, that’s what we’re going to do."
The launch reflects James' continued expansion into business and media after spending years keeping much of her personal life away from the spotlight.
In recent years, she has increasingly pursued projects outside of her role as the wife of one of basketball's biggest stars. Alongside McDaniel, she launched the Everybody's Crazy podcast, which focuses on embracing life's challenges through honest conversations and fresh perspectives.
James has previously explained that she intentionally stayed out of the public eye while raising her family.
"That time, to be honest, was spent pouring into my boys," she told The Cut in 2023. "I just really wanted to enjoy being a mom and supporting my husband. I wasn’t super comfortable with putting myself out like that."
The announcement also comes as public attention remains on the James family, with LeBron James' NBA future drawing widespread discussion during free agency.
While speculation continues about his next move, Savannah James is moving forward with a major milestone of her own by expanding her business portfolio through Signed.

Why Alicia Keys' Manager Was 'Livid' After Her First Clive Davis Meeting
Clive Davis died on June 22, 2026, at 94 years old. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer signed many music legends like Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. So meeting with him could change an artist's life.
Alicia Keys spoke at his funeral on June 29 at Central Synagogue in New York City. She spoke about meeting him for the first time and a funny story.
Alicia Keys Was Late Meeting Clive Davis for the First TimeKeys, 45, had an early start to her music career. She talked about her life-changing meeting at the funeral in front of attendees.
"This is called A Letter to the Man who Believed First," Keys said. "Dear Clive, there are moments in life that feel like they were written before you ever lived them. Like the universe conspired quietly in the background, arranging people and places and timing so that something extraordinary could be born. Meeting you was one of those moments for me."
She was 15 years old at the time and used the train to go to the meeting. Of course, there was a delay, which meant she was late to meet the record executive. "My manager was livid," the Grammy winner said.
The "Girl On Fire" singer also recalled the executive's humor. "'I have good news, and I have bad news,'" she said he once told her. "'The good news is you’re going to perform at my Grammy party — it’s going to be the first time I’m introducing a new artist. The bad news is that you’re going to have to follow Gladys Knight.'"

Alicia Keys Was Given a Gift After the Columbia Records MeetingA music deal is typically the reward after a great meeting with executives. But Keys once told Oprah Winfrey that she got another gift to sweeten the deal because multiple companies were interested in her.
"They were all interested, so we had a bidding war," Keys said. "Columbia brought me in to play in this gorgeous building that looks out over Manhattan. I was on, like, the 579th floor with this white piano. The whole room was white and glass, and I'd never seen anything like it."
Keys grew up in Hell's Kitchen, and money was tight in her household. Her mother paid for her to have piano lessons, and she began writing songs. This kind of glamour was new to her.
"I was like 'Wow,'" she continued. "So I played my little songs and everyone was excited. I was in heaven. Then the exec cleared everybody out and said to me, 'If you sign with us, I'll give you this piano.' All I had at home was my broken-down room divider. He might as well have been offering me diamonds. The guy says, 'I'll give you 15 minutes,' then he walks out."
Bruce Springsteen also gave a tribute, and other artists attended the ceremony. Kenny G performed on the sax.

Rare Winter Storm Causes Closures On Beartooth Highway, Areas of Yellowstone
Parts of the United States are getting hit with a snowstorm just ahead of the Fourth of July.
According to WYDOT in a Facebook post on June, Sunday, 28, snow had already started falling in some parts of the Northwest Mountains, specifically impacting Idaho, western Montana, western Wyoming, and northeastern Utah. As much as 12-18 inches was predicted at the highest peaks of the Anaconda Pintler Mountains.
June and July are rare times for snow in these areas, with weather experts sending out a warning of heavy snowfall. However, a local who spoke with Cowboy State Daily said that it was "not a surprise at all.”
“We’ve got about three inches of snow, and it's still snowing,” Libby Lane of Red Lodge, Montana, told the outlet. “It's blowing and melting off the road, but the road looks slick, icy, and slushy.”
The US National Weather Service in Riverton Wyoming sent out a warning to anyone visiting the area.
"If you happen to be visiting Yellowstone this morning, a light snow is currently falling throughout the park. It is not unusual to see snow in the park any month of the year. Snow is possible over the higher elevations of western Wyoming this morning, but should become rain later in the day as the sun rises," they wrote in a Facebook post on Monday, June 29.
A thunderstorm watch as well as a warning of heavy winds and potential isolated tornadoes were also issued in Nebraska, according to ABC 8’s Nebraska Now.
“Large hail, damaging wind, and isolated tornadoes will be possible with storms that form in the Severe Thunderstorm Watch area tonight,” they reported. “Parts of eastern Nebraska may see damaging wind this evening into the overnight... A few isolated spots may see wind gusts up to 80 mph anywhere in the highlighted areas.”

Here’s Exactly What Happens to Your Liver When You Drink Green Tea
When we talk about drinking and liver health, there's usually only one beverage that comes to mind: Alcohol. Registered dietitians won't argue that alcohol can negatively affect your liver (and other organs, for that matter). Yet, Metabolically Dysfunctional-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (formerly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease), now affects nearly 40% of people worldwide.
"What we drink plays a big role in that," says Malina Malkani, MS, RDN, CDN, LDN, a nutrition expert, owner of Malina Malkani Nutrition and author of Safe and Simple Food Allergy Prevention. "Sugary drinks, for instance, are associated with a significantly higher risk of fatty liver disease, while something as simple as your daily tea or coffee can actually work in your favor. Our livers quietly process everything we drink, all day, every day, so those small daily choices can add up over time."
Of course, there are tons of tea types—green, white, black, lemon, hibiscus and elderberry. You name it, the grocery store probably stocks it. Green tea has gained favor recently for its reported metabolism-boosting properties. The liver is a central organ in your metabolic system, so it's worth exploring what happens to it when you drink green tea.
"The liver acts as the command center of the digestive system," Malkani explains. "It sits downstream of the gut and gets first access to what we eat or drink before it reaches the rest of the body. The liver makes bile to help the body break down and absorb fat, manages blood sugar and cholesterol, and filters out toxins."
It's also constantly communicating with your gut bacteria. So, is green tea good for the liver? According to registered dietitians, it depends on how much you consume, how you take your green tea and your overall health. Scroll on for the tea.

Can Green Tea Be Good for Your Liver?Drinking green tea can benefit your liver in the short and long term. You'll see the greatest benefits if you drink it regularly for months or years, but you may experience some benefits almost right away.
"Short-term benefits—within a day or a couple of weeks—are often at the cellular level and might not be 'felt' as a significant change in liver function," explains Diana Cusa, MS, RD, CDN, CDCES, the senior dietitian for Food & Nutrition Services at Plainview Hospital (Northwell Health).
However, green tea also contains Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a powerful antioxidant, that can begin to affect your liver—and therefore metabolism—within a few days or weeks.
"The antioxidants in green tea can have effects on the liver quickly by helping to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation," states Mckenzie Dryden, RD, a registered dietitian with HonorHealth Whole Health Institute. "Oxidative stress can accelerate aging and contribute to chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer."
Dryden cites a research review that found most studies showed these benefits of green tea over a 12-week period. Cusa adds that drinking green tea can also help:
- Regulate blood sugar (putting less stress on the liver)
- Improve mild fat metabolism
- Reduce new fat accumulation
"Within hours or days, green tea can slightly promote fat burning and inhibit new fat formation," Cusa explains. "Green tea can activate certain enzymes that signal the cell to burn fat for energy rather than store it and inhibit enzymes involved in fat synthesis."
Great as all of this sounds, green tea is not an instant and magical solution for your liver.
"The liver does not usually respond to one cup of tea in a way someone would feel that day," says Johannah Katz, RD, a dietitian from Consumer Health Digest. "Any liver-related benefits would more likely be gradual and measurable through biomarkers, such as liver enzymes or metabolic markers."
Indeed, these biomarkers generally improve when you regularly drink green tea for several months or years. Cusa says long-term, liver-health benefits of drinking green tea include a better shot at avoiding conditions, including:
- Metabolically Dysfunctional-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease
- Cirrhosis
- Steatosis
- Hepatitis
- Liver failure
- Liver cancer
- Type 2 diabetes
Why? Because the short-term benefits (less inflammation, improved blood sugar and increased antioxidant intake from EGCG) add up over time.

How Daily Green Tea Might Harm Your LiverDryden warns that drinking green tea is generally safe for your liver health. That said, remember it contains caffeine, so it's a diuretic (you'll pee more). "Drinking large amounts of caffeine—over 400 mg per day—can lead to dehydration due to water lost through urine," she explains.
Most of the short- and long-term risks of green tea are associated with concentrated green tea extract supplements, especially when taken on an empty stomach, Malkani explains. She says people taking these supplements should be warned that they can experience liver injury within a few weeks or months, and people with the genetic marker HLA-B35:01 allele face higher risks. "These injuries tend to happen at high supplement doses, which are far stronger than what you get from brewed tea," she clarifies.
Still, she emphasizes that it's worth speaking to your doctor if you have a pre-existing liver condition or take weight-loss supplements that already contain concentrated green tea extracts.

How Much Green Tea Should I Drink per Day for Liver Health? For long-term liver health benefits, Cusa notes that the common, generally accepted recommendation is to drink two to five cups of brewed green tea daily. For context, she says that an eight-ounce cup of brewed green tea contains about 50-100 mg of EGCG.
"Never assume that if a little is good, a lot—especially in supplement form—is better," Cusa says, adding that personal health and genetics can affect how you metabolize green tea—some people do so better than others. And your overall lifestyle matters. "The benefits of green tea are increased when combined with a balanced diet, regular exercise and avoidance of alcohol."
Remember, don't expect your liver health to drastically improve overnight. In fact, there's no known "dose" for seeing those instant, oxidative-stress-reducing benefits.
"It’s about consistent, moderate incorporation into a healthy lifestyle rather than looking for an immediate, noticeable liver effect from a specific amount," Cusa reports.

'80s MTV Legend Announces Rare Reunion for 2026 Tour With A Ton of Special Guests
More than three decades after they last shared a stage, Thomas Dolby is bringing back one of the most celebrated bands of his career.
The Grammy-nominated new wave pioneer announced Tuesday, June 30, that he will reunite with The Lost Toy People for the 2026 Totally Tubular Festival, marking the group's first performances together since the late 1980s. Joining the reformed lineup is acclaimed bassist Divinity Roxx, best known as Beyoncé's longtime musical director and bandleader.
The 15-city festival tour kicks off July 17 in Phoenix and features an all-star lineup of '80s favorites, including A Flock of Seagulls, Men Without Hats, Bow Wow Wow, Animotion, The Escape Club, Tommy Tutone and The Producers, with lineups varying by city. You can purchase tickets here.
Dolby originally formed The Lost Toy People after relocating from England to Los Angeles in 1986. The band went on to record his third studio album Aliens Ate My Buick, which earned multiple Grammy nominations and featured songs including "Airhead," "The Ability to Swing," "The Key to Her Ferrari" and the fan favorite "Pulp Culture." Their Totally Tubular set will revisit much of that album while also featuring Dolby's signature hits, including "She Blinded Me With Science," performed live with the full band.
The reunion carries added emotional significance. The Lost Toy People's final performance came before approximately 60,000 fans during Depeche Mode's legendary Concert for the Masses at the Rose Bowl in 1988. A few years later, original bassist Terry Jackson was among those killed in the 1991 plane crash that claimed seven members of Reba McEntire's touring band.
For the reunion, Dolby has assembled a lineup that includes original guitarist Larry Treadwell and singer-percussionist Laura Creamer alongside Roxx on bass, drummer Mat Hector, whose credits include Iggy Pop, Thom Yorke and Grace Jones, and New Orleans trombonist Ethan Santos. The press release also promises surprise appearances from additional former members of The Lost Toy People throughout the tour.
While many fans know Dolby for the 1982 hit "She Blinded Me With Science," his career has extended well beyond new wave stardom. He has produced and collaborated with artists including Def Leppard, Joni Mitchell, George Clinton and Belinda Carlisle, founded the Silicon Valley software company Beatnik, helped develop the polyphonic ringtone technology used in billions of mobile phones, served as music director for TED Conferences and now teaches at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
The announcement builds on Dolby's rare return to U.S. touring. Earlier this year, he performed a limited series of intimate American shows with a full band, but the Totally Tubular Festival marks the first time in decades that fans will see him reunited with The Lost Toy People onstage.

The 4 Most Passionate Birth Months, According to Astrology
Passion comes in many different forms. For some people, it's the way they throw themselves into relationships. For others, it's the energy they bring to their careers, hobbies, goals, or even the causes they care about. While everyone can be passionate, people born in certain months often seem to turn up the intensity a little higher than the rest.
Read on to discover which four birth months are known for bringing plenty of heart, drive, and emotion into everything they do, per an expert astrologer.
Which Birth Months Are Most Passionate?Passionate people can be born in any month, and every month has its own strengths. But if there's one thing March, July, August, and November tend to have in common, it's that they put their whole heart into the things they care about. Whether it's their relationships, goals, family, or personal dreams, they don't do much halfway. They care deeply, stay committed, and bring a lot of energy to the people and things that matter most to them.
MarchPeople born in March often have a depth to them that isn't obvious at first. They may seem calm, easygoing, or even a little dreamy, but underneath that exterior is a surprisingly passionate soul. When a March-born person cares about something, they care deeply. Either a compassionate Pisces or an energetic Aries, these individuals bring a unique blend of emotion and determination.
March birthdays tend to follow their hearts. They become invested in their relationships, creative pursuits, and personal dreams. They're not usually interested in doing things halfway. If they believe in something, they'll pour their time, energy, and emotions into it. Their passion comes from inspiration rather than competition, which makes it feel genuine and heartfelt.
JulyJuly individuals are known for caring deeply about the people they love. Family, friendships, and close relationships mean everything to them. That emotional investment creates a level of passion that's impossible to ignore. Whether you're a nurturing Cancer or a confident Leo, people born in July bring strong emotions and a generous spirit.
These souls don't just show up for the people they care about—they go all in. They celebrate your wins, support you through hard times, and fiercely protect the people they love. They're also passionate about creating a life that feels meaningful and secure. When they set their sights on something important, they're incredibly determined to make it happen.
AugustIf passion had a spotlight, August would probably be standing right under it. People born in this month often bring enthusiasm, confidence, and a strong sense of purpose to whatever they do. Either a bold Leo or a practical Virgo, August is a birth month known for determination and drive.
People born in August don't like sitting on the sidelines. They want to participate, lead, create, and accomplish. They tend to have big goals and aren't afraid to put in the work needed to reach them. Their passion can be contagious because they genuinely believe that exciting things are possible. Whether they're working on their career, a personal project, or a relationship, they bring inspiring energy that encourages others to step up as well.
NovemberNovember-borns are associated with intensity, and people born during this month rarely do anything halfway. They feel things strongly, think deeply, and commit fully when something matters to them. Whether you are a passionate Scorpio or adventurous Sagittarius, November personalities have strong convictions.
This birth month has a quiet but powerful presence. They may not always be the loudest people in the room, but their passion runs deep. They're fiercely loyal, incredibly determined, and often willing to fight for what they believe in. Once they commit to a goal, relationship, or dream, they're not easily discouraged. That level of focus and emotional investment is what makes their passion stand out.

Round 2 of FUE Treatement and this time I went all in for best possible results. Thank you @KenAndersonMD and the staff at Anderson Center for Hair for accompanying me on this journey! pic.twitter.com/0Gpareki5U
— John Cena (@JohnCena) June 29, 2026 What is FUE Treatment?FUE (or Follicular Unit Excision) is what most people call a ‘hair transplant.’ The procedure involves the removal of individual follicular units from other regions of the head, face, or body. A surgeon then transplants the follicles in a thinning or balding area.
Why does John Cena need a hair transplant?Based on pics of the celeb, it doesn’t seem like he really needs help with his hair. But sometimes looks can be deceiving.
In 2025, Cena opened up to PEOPLE, sharing his FUE journey.
During his ‘farewell’ WWE tour, the pro wrestler noticed a bald spot. And he wasn’t the only one: “As I was trying to hide my hair loss, the audience was bringing it to light.”
Cena explained, “I saw their signs that said, ‘The bald John Cena.’ They pushed me into going to see what my options were. I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner.” But that wasn’t all.
He revealed, “I also got a hair transplant last November. I hate the fact that, if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or right out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness.”
Not only did the transplant give Cena more confidence, but it also helped his acting: “A different hairstyle can identify a part that can get me more work, do the thing I love to do.”
What do fans think of John Cena’s FUE Treatment?Fans are here for John’s hair. They flocked to his X post, sharing their support. Cena’s doctor, Dr. Ken Anderson, wrote, “Your commitment to the process and long-term hair health has made all the difference,” while other commentesr said, “It takes real courage to come out and let the world know. More strength to you” and, “Round 2 looking strong already! Proud of you for going all in on what makes you feel more confident, John.”
This Network Soap Star Refuses to Call Her Divisive Character a Villain—Here’s Why
While Beyond the Gates fans often label Ambyr Michelle’s character Eva Thomas as a villain, now, the fan-favorite actress has opened up about how she sees her divisive character.
Michelle recently appeared on The Gatekeepers Podcast, where she was interviewed about her journey to joining the soap opera, the challenges of a daytime drama, and her dreams for the character.
View the original article to see embedded media.
During the conversation, Michelle was questioned about how she sees her character. “When I first got the scripts, I'm like, she's a villain.”
Michelle explained that the antagonistic personality led her to believe that Eva was a straightforward bad guy. But that perception quickly changed.
The actress shared, “When I started to get to know her and see how complex she is and layered she is and unique she is, I'm like, no, this girl is passionate. She's not a villain. She has a heart.”
Michelle believes that Eva loves hard, “and it comes off wrong to other people, but she makes decisions based on her loyalty, based on what she thinks is best in the interest of everyone.”
Michelle addressed the way Eva goes up for her mom, Leslie “Dana” Thomas (Trisha Mann Grant), even defending her in moments she probably shouldn’t. “People have to understand that this woman was the only woman in her life growing up. This woman is the only one who cared for her, whether it looked toxic or not, and she has been around this woman from day one, and so it's they're at the hip, and so that may look weird to other people, but it's actually extremely normal.”
Reflecting on who she sees Eva as, Michelle shared, “Eva is layered. She's complex. She's unique. She's bold. She's passionate.”
Michelle added that the role stretches her. “She stretches me as a creative and as an artist every single day because I don't know what she's gonna do, what she's gonna say, how she's gonna do it, and how she's gonna say it.”
With that said, Michelle has one approach to every scene and that’s to come from a place of love, “because that's who she is.”

1970 Rock Anthem Celebrated as One of the Most Patriotic Songs of All Time 50 Years Later
A rock anthem now regarded as one of the most patriotic songs of all time wasn’t always seen that way and once had the opposite reputation.
The Guess Who scored a major hit with “American Woman” in 1970. The tune became one of the band’s signature songs, though its meaning and reception have shifted over time.
The Hollywood Reporter compiled a list of the Most Patriotic Songs for July 4. Some honored the USA while others had a decidedly different slant.
The Guess Who hit falls somewhere between patriotism and protest in meaning. It’s this ambiguity that has kept the track relevant for more than 50 years.

Guess Who guitarist Randy Bachman spoke to Songfacts, sharing his thoughts about the fine line "American Woman" rides between the two schools of thought. He explained how the track has been interpreted in very different ways over the years.
The song was written on stage based upon an unforgettable riff by Bachman. He revealed, "I realize I'm playing a riff I don't want to forget, and I have to keep playing it. So I stand up, and I'm playing this riff. I'm alone on stage."
He added, "I look into the audience, and there's my drummer, Garry Peterson, so I get him to come onstage, and we start to play it. Then I see [Guess Who bass player] Jim Kale, he looks up, and me and Garry are playing. I call him up, and he starts to play the bass riff. And then we get Burton Cummings on the stage, and it's a jam session. We're jamming this riff over and over and over."
He said the song was complete when he yelled out, "Sing something, sing anything," to Cummings. The first words out of his mouth were, "American woman, stay away from me."
Bachman concluded that "American Woman" is "basically an anti-war protest song saying, 'We don't want your war machines, we don't want your ghetto scenes, stay away from me.'"
"'American Woman' is not the woman on the street. It's the Statue of Liberty and that poster of Uncle Sam with the stars and stripes top hat where he has a finger pointing to you. 'Uncle Sam Wants You.' That basically was our thought at the moment onstage when that song was written."
The song found a new audience when Lenny Kravitz remade "American Woman" in May 1999 for the Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me soundtrack.
More than 50 years later, “American Woman” continues to spark discussion about its meaning and legacy. Its enduring appeal lies in the way it can still be heard in more than one way.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Faces Hollywood Backlash for Controversial Political Stance
The Hollywood culture war has claimed its newest battlefield: the silence of the biggest movie star on earth. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, whose brand is built on being the likable everyman, faces growing criticism from classic sci-fi royalty. Wil Wheaton and George Takei have called out the action star's recent political retreat, sparking an online debate about whether neutrality in modern America is a luxury or a form of cowardice.
The spark caught fire when Wheaton publicly criticized Johnson for backtracking on his previous political stances. In 2020, Johnson famously broke his usual silence to endorse Joe Biden. By 2024, however, Johnson told Fox News he regretted the division that endorsement caused, stating he would not endorse a candidate again because his goal is "to bring this country together."
To Wheaton, that isn't unity; it's a lack of spine. The statement, which was a reply to Star Trek alumnus Takei's post on the matter, signals an exhaustion among progressive Hollywood veterans who believe massive platforms carry massive responsibilities.
The internet immediately split along predictable, yet fascinating, fault lines. On spaces like Reddit, fans and critics began autopsy reports on Johnson’s public persona. One camp argues that "keeping politics to yourself" is a dog-whistle for conservative leanings, suggesting Johnson is hiding a red vote behind a centrist smile.
Others see a more capitalistic motive: the Michael Jordan doctrine. Decades ago, Jordan famously noted that "Republicans buy sneakers too." For a global icon like Johnson, who straddles the worlds of Hollywood, the UFC, and professional wrestling, alienating half his audience is bad for business. His fans watch workout videos, football, and action films; it is a demographic mix that fans say cuts straight through red and blue states.
"All that muscle and show of a big strong guy, too weak to express his own opinion," wrote one online critic, pointing out the irony of Johnson's hyper-masculine brand crashing into political timidity.
(Source: George Takei/Wil Wheaton, Threads)George Takei/Wil Wheaton: Threads
Yet other Redditors claim Johnson’s track record complicates the "secret conservative" narrative. He has consistently filmed public service announcements advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and gender equality, positions that align squarely with liberal values.
The real conversation here isn't Johnson's statements, but the idea that a celebrity can occupy a neutral zone. In the current cultural landscape, staying quiet is no longer viewed as polite. It is viewed as an ideological statement of its own.
On This Day in 1971, 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory' Officially Arrives in Theaters
On this day in 1971, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory officially arrived in theaters, ushering in one of the most popular comedy films of its era.
Starring Gene Wilder as the title character, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory followed a group of five unruly children who are invited to explore the surreal candy factory of the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka.
Based on the novel Charlie & the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory failed to gain serious traction at the box office, grossing a mere $4 million against a $3 million budget.
At the time of its release, however, many critics complimented the film for its comedic tone, central performances and Wilder's energetic role as the eponymous Willy Wonka.
In the decades that followed, the film eventually took on fabled cult status among more contemporary viewers, continuing to rank as one of the best comedies of the 1970s, as well as one of the best family movies ever made.
As the iconic critic Roger Ebert said of the movie, "Probably the best film of its sort since The Wizard of Oz. It is everything that family movies usually claim to be, but aren't: Delightful, funny, scary, exciting, and most of all, a genuine work of imagination. Willy Wonka is such a surely and wonderfully spun fantasy that it works on all kinds of minds, and it is fascinating because, like all classic fantasy, it is fascinated with itself."
Along with the movie's growing critical success, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory also remains known for its musical soundtrack, including the popular song "The Candy Man" that would later be covered by Sammy Davis Jr. The song became Davis' only number-one hit in his career, spending a total of three weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart beginning June 10, 1972.

When the weather warms up, it’s usually time to swap out heavy winter bedding for something lighter — something that still feels cozy but doesn’t trap heat. That’s where a good lightweight blanket really makes a difference.
Right now, the award-winning Bedsure 3D Fleece Bubble Blanket is on sale at Amazon for $17 (down from $24), and it’s been drawing steady attention from shoppers who say it offers coziness without feeling “too heavy” or “too hot.” It works well both as a throw for lounging and as an extra layer of warmth while you sleep. The blanket comes in 15 colors, including off-white, beige, sage green, light purple, and grey.
Bedsure 3D Fleece Bubble Blanket, $17 (was $24) at Amazon Shop at AmazonWhat really sets the CloudBubble blanket apart is the material. Instead of faux fur, it’s made from plush fleece, which gives it a soft, cozy feel without the shedding issues that can come with other textured fabrics. In addition, it’s machine washable and safe for tumble drying. Many Amazon shoppers said in reviews that it held up well after washing, coming out soft, fresh, and ready to use again each time.
Its softness comes from a raised bubble texture that creates that signature plush, cloud-like feel. Beyond comfort, it also adds a subtle decorative touch when styled in any living room or bedroom. Drape it over the end of a bed, fold it across an armchair, or toss it over the sofa to instantly give your space a more polished look.
The blanket is available in four sizes, ranging from a 50 by 60 inch throw to a 108 by 90 inch king.
Even though it’s light enough for spring and summer evenings, it’s still warm enough to keep on hand year-round. Shoppers noted that it strikes the right balance, saying it was “warm without being heavy.”

A First Look Inside Legend of the Seas: Why Bigger Actually Means Better
The cruise world has been buzzing for months about the launch of Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas. The 250,000-gross-ton vessel has officially claimed the crown as the largest cruise ship in the world, and she's packed to the brim with accolades: the most dining choices at sea, a massive Category 6 water park that feels like a full-scale theme park on the ocean and more entertainment than you could ever fit into a single week.
But as I sit on board this inaugural four-night sailing through the Mediterranean—traveling from Malaga, Spain, to Rome, Italy—I'm finding that the best part of the ship isn't the record-breaking stats. It’s about how easy it is for families of every generation to have the vacation of their lives together without ever feeling crowded.
Like her Icon-Class sisters, Royal Caribbean has designed this third ship using "neighborhoods," which means you can pivot from high-energy family thrills to absolute, quiet serenity in a matter of minutes. While Icon and Star of the Seas laid the groundwork, Legend has all but perfected the formula with a few subtle new tweaks. As one marketing leader put it, "there's a place on board for every vibe, every mood." For grandparents, parents and kids traveling together, it means everyone gets to choose their own perfect day.

Poolside Fun Without the Lounge Chair RaceOn many mega-ships, the pool deck can feel like a contact sport—a mad dash to claim an open lounge chair first thing in the morning. Legend of the Seas offers a brilliant fix with the subtle tweaks to "Chill Island," a genuinely next-level pool space. The space features four pools, including one with 40+ comfy, in-pool loungers that let you dip your toes in the water while you relax. On most ships, you're lucky to find five of these coveted chairs, and they're always claimed by 9 a.m. While this specific sailing was less crowded than usual, these chairs will likely remain available until noon on regular cruises, as families and high-energy crowds gravitate toward the Thrill Island waterpark deck.
Right in the middle of the action sits the new two-story Lime & Coconut bar, a vibrant hub that has quickly become the ultimate afternoon hangout spot. Royal Caribbean added a clever twist here, too: the entire upper deck is a dedicated, frozen-drink-only section. It's a smart move that keeps lines moving fast for perfectly blended poolside cocktails. Just around the corner is a third venue—an upscale bar serving a premium cocktail menu. Remarkably, it also manages to avoid the massive lines typical of mixology hotspots on other ships.

My Absolute Favorite Spot: The AquaDomeIf you want to slip away from the midday energy with a good book, the Overlook space at the front of the ship is the place to be. Tucked right inside the Aquadome neighborhood, it's my absolute favorite corner on board, it features the Rye and Bean coffee lounge, where you can grab a morning brew—or later, a Nitro espresso martini—and calmly watch the ocean roll by through towering glass walls. Filled with natural light, it’s the perfect peaceful escape when you just need a quiet moment to recharge.
By night, the central theater draws crowds for Shockwave, completely shifting the energy of the whole space. This breathtaking diving and acrobatic spectacular has to be seen to be believed—serving as a brand-new iteration of Royal Caribbean’s popular pool show that highlights the dynamic relationship between the beauty and power of water. The production weaves synchronized swimming, high-diving, aerialism, tightrope routines—and even magical butterfly drones—into a setlist of rollicking 2010s tunes from MGMT to Coldplay. Even the costumes exude pure joy, bringing a wave of iridescent Y2K nostalgia. It is, quite simply, incredible.
The entertainment on Legend goes far beyond standard cruise revues. There is a brand-new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory production show that kids and grandparents will both love, the return of the fan-favorite ice-skating show Fusion, and highly immersive experiences like the new Hollywoodland Supper Club and the Royal Railway theater (which I'll be checking out later this week).
Just around the corner is the AquaDome Market. This time around, Royal Caribbean has introduced new cultural cuisines to try, ranging from Louisiana Cajun food and fresh crepes to savory Korean kimchi bowls. It has already become my go-to lunch spot; even though the ship can hold up to 7,600 passengers, this marketplace never feels congested. Granted, it's only Day 1—word may eventually get out.
On the opposite side sits Hooked Seafood, serving up everything from lobster rolls to fish tacos. I couldn't get enough of this breezy, Mediterranean-inspired coastal spot. A Royal Caribbean team member mentioned that there was a concerted effort to emphasize regional flavors and ensure everyone on board felt reflected in the cuisine styles—an approach that is clearly apparent here, all the way to the global focus inside the Windjammer buffet.

Quiet Escapes and Family Photo OpsIf you happen to be traveling in the suite tiers, the two-story cabins are absolute jaw-droppers, and you get exclusive access to the Coastal Kitchen restaurant. But you don’t need a suite to find a beautiful, quiet escape. The Central Park neighborhood is still a lush, calm favorite for a peaceful evening stroll under real trees. If you're looking for some kid-free relaxation, The Hideaway neighborhood offers a peaceful time-out spot, complete with a stunning infinity pool suspended right over the back of the ship—easily my second favorite spot on board
When the family wants to meet back up, the Royal Promenade is the place to do it. Anchored by a massive, shiny architectural sculpture called "The Pearl," the promenade is the ultimate shopping and social hub for all generations. It’s visually spectacular, quickly becoming the designated spot for vacation photos and impromptu selfies against the ship's many sparkling backdrops. (And don't miss the fun Voyage to Adventure street party happening once or twice a sailing.)
Ultimately, Legend of the Seas is quickly proving that a bigger ship can actually mean a better, more effortless family vacation. And that paying attention to all the little details can have a huge payoff. By giving every single member of the family a space to love—whether that’s dropping down a Category 6 water slide or relaxing with a book at the front of the ship—I can already see how it will deliver a vacation that your family will be talking about for years to come.

'Elle' Star June Diane Raphael Says Working With James Van Der Beek Was 'A Dream'
June Diane Raphael is reflecting on her time working with the late James Van Der Beek in upcoming series Elle.
"It was such an honor to work with James," she told TV Insider ahead of the show's premiere on July 1. "He's so wonderful in the show, and I'm so excited for his fans to see this."
Van Der Beek, who died of cancer in February at age 48, played a mayoral hopeful on the show in what would be his last role.
View this post on InstagramRaphael, who plays mom to a young Elle Woods, played by Lexi Minetree, said working with the Dawson's Creek icon, and father of six, was "a dream."
"I'm really walking away with these memories of him talking about his family all the time," she recalled. "Anytime there was a downbeat on the set, he would share stories about his kids and how amazing they are and what they were going through, and I could just tell the kind of dad he was and also the kind of husband he was. He would just share the most beautiful things about his wife, and you could tell they were so deeply in love still."
"So I will hold those memories so close to my heart," she added.

The Grace and Frankie star also shared how he brought his daughters to set, a memory his wife Kimberly also talked about in a recent social media post.
"I know that that's such a big deal as a parent to bring your kids to your work environment, and you want to make sure it's the right one," Raphael said. "So, it was really special that he felt that this set was so joyful and such a cool world for the girls to see. So, I'm really honored that I got to share that time with him."
Leading up to the show's release on Wednesday on Amazon Prime Video, stars as well as Elle's show-runner Caroline Dries also spoke about what it was like to work with Van Der Beek amid his cancer battle.
“James told me that acting allowed him to be someone and forget the pain he was in, but even off camera, James appeared to be buoyant and happy,” Dries said during the show's New York City premiere. “He made us laugh. He told us stories, and he showed us nothing but kindness and gratitude toward the crew.”
