Jenna Bush Hager Calls the Novel a "Delicious Summer Read"

The novel has drawn early praise for its sharp humor and easy readability, with comparisons to some of the most popular contemporary beach reads in recent years.

Fans of books like Pineapple Street, Malibu Rising and The Vacationers may find familiar appeal in its blend of luxury settings, emotional tension and interpersonal drama set against a sun-soaked backdrop.

Readers are also responding to its focus on the complexity of long friendships, especially how shared history can both protect and trap people over time. The story leans into the idea that even the most polished lives can hide unresolved feelings just beneath the surface.

Love Island USA's Tierra Davis Allegedly Threatened to Shoot a Girl Years Ago

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 10:17pm

Love Island USA's Tierra Davis allegedly assaulted a girl years before appearing on season 8 of the Peacock series.

According to TMZ—who obtained the 2018 restraining order and spoke to Davis's alleged victim, Shayla Woodard—the reported assault occurred due to jealously over Davis's ex-boyfriend.

Per the court documents, Woodard, who was 16 at the time, claimed then-17-year-old Davis threatened to shoot her with a gun after physically assaulting her.

Woodard claimed she knew of Davis from a friend of a former classmate but did not know her personally. Woodard added that she believed the reality star was upset because she knew her ex-boyfriend.

Woodard claims to have called the police on Davis, who allegedly kept harassing her regardless.

She then filed for a restraining ordering against Davis in hopes that she would stop contacting her and stay away from her family.

The temporary restraining order was granted, however, the case was later dismissed in December of that year.

Sources who spoke the outlet say that Woodard only found out that Davis was on Love Island USA this week. Despite their past, the insider claims Woodard has "no ill feelings" towards Davis, wishes her the best, and believes people can evolve and change.

Davis entered the Love Island USA villa during the Casa Amor twist, in which the original men and women are split up and introduced to a new group of singles.

In a controversial move, Davis was brought back to the villa by KC Chandler, who had been coupled up with Aniya Harvey. Harvey, meanwhile, chose to remain single at the end of Casa Amor.

The next episode of Love Island USA will stream on Peacock on Tuesday, June 29 at 9 p.m. ET.

1975 Crossover Hit That Spent 41 Weeks on the Charts Quietly Captured a Legend's Biggest Inner Turmoil

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 10:17pm

One of Glen Campbell's biggest crossover hits wasn't just another chart success. It also offered a revealing glimpse into the inner turmoil that accompanied his extraordinary rise from rural Arkansas to Hollywood stardom.

Released in October 1975 as the second single from his chart-topping album Rhinestone Cowboy, "Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in L.A.)" became another major hit for Campbell. The song climbed to No. 3 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Adult Contemporary chart, giving Campbell his fifth No. 1 on that survey. Combined, it spent 41 weeks across the three Billboard charts, further cementing Campbell as one of the era's defining crossover stars.

Written by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, the song tells the story of a man who has achieved the success he always dreamed of but finds himself longing for the simpler life he left behind. The narrator enjoys the rewards of fame, yet questions whether they're worth the distance from the place that shaped him.

For Campbell, those emotions were more than just compelling lyrics.

Born in the tiny town of Delight, Arkansas, Campbell left home as a teenager before eventually building a remarkable career in Los Angeles. As one of the legendary Wrecking Crew session musicians, he played on countless classic recordings before becoming a television star and one of country music's first true crossover sensations. But even as his success grew, he never stopped talking about the tension between his roots and his new life.

Following Campbell's death in 2017, international press organization DW pointed to "Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in L.A.)" as one of the songs that best captured that lifelong push and pull. The publication noted that Campbell often spoke about feeling caught between two worlds, once remarking that he could earn more in a week in Los Angeles than he would in a year picking cotton back home, yet still found himself drawn to the place where he grew up.

At the same time, Variety noted after his death that Campbell often ssaid, "I’m not a country singer. I’m a country boy who sings.”

The song also arrived just months after "Rhinestone Cowboy," another recording Campbell later described as deeply personal. Variety observed that "Country Boy" reflected many of the same dreams, compromises and sacrifices that defined his career, making it feel like a companion piece to his signature hit.

Campbell's ability to bridge country and pop would help shape the careers of countless artists who followed. But while many fans remember him for the crossover success of songs like "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman" and "Southern Nights," "Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in L.A.)" may be his most revealing recording.

More than a hit, it was the sound of a man discovering that success doesn't always quiet the voice calling you home.

1973 Rock Song, Lasting Nearly Six Minutes, Remains a Classic 53 Years Later

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:47pm

More than five decades after its release, Black Sabbath's nearly six-minute song "Sabbra Cadabra" continues to stand as one of the defining tracks from the band's landmark 1973 album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Released as the fourth song on the record, the 5-minute, 59-second track remains a favorite among rock and heavy metal fans thanks to its powerful guitar riffs, blues-inspired groove and experimental sound.

The song arrived during a critical point in Black Sabbath's career. After touring behind Vol. 4, the band struggled with exhaustion, substance abuse and writer's block while trying to begin work on its fifth studio album in Los Angeles. Guitarist Tony Iommi later recalled that ideas were simply not coming together, leaving the group frustrated.

Looking for a fresh start, the band left California and returned to England, where they rehearsed inside Clearwell Castle in Gloucestershire. The change in surroundings proved to be exactly what they needed.

While working there, Iommi created the unforgettable opening riff for the album's title track, "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath," reigniting the band's creativity and setting the tone for the rest of the album.

Among the songs that followed was "Sabbra Cadabra," a track that showcased Black Sabbath expanding beyond the heavy, doom-filled sound that first made them famous.

'Sabbra Cadabra' Showed Black Sabbath's Musical Growth

Unlike many of the band's earlier recordings, "Sabbra Cadabra" blended heavy metal with blues rock and progressive influences while keeping the group's signature dark edge intact.

Iommi's guitar work remains the centerpiece of the song, delivering memorable riffs that helped define the band's sound. Bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward built a solid rhythmic foundation, while Ozzy Osbourne's distinctive vocals gave the track its emotional energy.

The recording also featured a notable guest appearance from Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman, who played piano and Minimoog on the song during the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath sessions at Morgan Studios in London. According to Rock and Roll Globe, Wakeman declined payment and instead accepted beer as compensation for his contribution.

The album itself marked an important creative step for the band. Alongside crushing guitar riffs, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath introduced synthesizers, strings, keyboards and more detailed song arrangements. Those changes earned praise from critics while helping the album become Black Sabbath's fifth consecutive platinum-certified release in the U.S.

Although "Sabbra Cadabra" was never released as one of Black Sabbath's biggest commercial singles, its reputation has only grown over time.

The song has also reached new audiences through later cover versions. Metallica famously recorded its own version of "Sabbra Cadabra" for the band's 1998 covers album Garage Inc., introducing the song to another generation of heavy metal listeners.

Music historians and longtime fans often point to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as one of Black Sabbath's most important albums because it balanced the group's classic heavy sound with new musical ideas. While the title track is frequently praised as one of Tony Iommi's greatest riffs, "Sabbra Cadabra" remains one of the record's most adventurous performances.

The album arrived on Nov. 30, 1973, and became an important turning point for the Birmingham, England, band. It reached No. 4 on the U.K. Albums Chart and No. 11 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. while eventually earning platinum certification in America.

Black Sabbath, featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, had already helped establish heavy metal through earlier albums including Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality, and Vol. 4. With Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, the group showed it could continue evolving without losing the sound that made it one of rock music's most influential bands.

Today, 53 years after its release, "Sabbra Cadabra" remains one of the lasting highlights from that era. Running just under six minutes, the song continues to be recognized for combining crushing riffs, blues-inspired musicianship and creative experimentation into a recording.

Cara Delevingne Was 'Entangled' With an Actress Who Had a Messy Divorce

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:42pm

Amber Heard's personal life was put under a microscope when her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, sued her. Cara Delevingne worked with the married couple on a movie, and revealed when she was "entangled" with Heard.

Cara Delevingne Said Johnny Depp Was Jealous While She Made 'London Fields'

Delevingne was interviewed on The Louis Theroux Podcast. The host claimed Depp was "driven crazy" by the thought Heard was cheating with the model. Delevingne paused before responding.

"It's because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields," she explained. "He was also doing the movie. I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy, I suppose? Nothing was happening at that point."

Heard filed for divorce in 2016, which was seven years after they finished the movie. "Later, after they divorce it had, I suppose," she continued. "An entanglement? What is the word?"

Delevingne said they were close for a long time, but after they separated, they had a short entanglement. "But she was also entangled with other people," she added. One of those people was Elon Musk.

London Fields was based on the black comedy novel by Martin Amis. The movie flopped and received 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. Delevingne laughed and said she "loved it."

Heard talked about what it was like to work with Delevingne with E! News. "It was great," she said. "I mean Cara, Jim Sturgess, Billy Bob [Thornton], Theo James. Everyone was incredible. I worked with the most amazing people on this project."

Amber Heard and Cara Delevingne Worked Together Again

Heard announced her divorce was settled on August 21, 2016. She was out in London with Margot Robbie and Delevingne hours later, according to Entertainment Tonight. They went to a Rolling Stones exhibition and ate at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie.

Depp's defamation lawsuit against Heard started many rumors. His lawyers had a deposition with Josh Drew, who is the ex-husband of Heard's friend Raquel "Rocky" Pennington. He was asked if Rocky said Heard and Delevingne had an affair while she was married. He answered yes, according to the Daily Mail.

Drew was asked if Heard ever told him that she spent the night with Delevingne and Musk. "Yes," he answered. "To the specific date, I can't say." This started rumor that they had a threesome.

The actresses later worked together again in a 2018 dramatic movie called Her Smell. Elisabeth Moss played a punk rocker struggling with sobriety.

Delevingne talked about her sexuality on The Louis Theroux Podcast. She used to identify as pansexual, but now identifies as a lesbian. "I've never been in love with a man," she explained. The model is also monogamous.

Delevingne is dating musical artist Minke. She revealed that she has been engaged in the past, but was scared to get married. However, the Paper Towns star said she wants to get married one day and have kids.

Olivia Wilde Reveals How Her Biggest Box Office Flop Completely Changed Her New Movie

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:33pm

Olivia Wilde is grateful for past failure.

The actress and director shot her latest movie, The Invite, in just 21 days, on film, and in story order, all of which are incredibly rare. She credits her ability to take risks like these to her unsuccessful projects.

“I believe in early failure. The first pilot I did got canceled in three episodes. There were a lot of early bumps, and I think that taught me to have level-headed expectations for Hollywood,” Wilde told Varietyin a recent interview.

Her 2019 directorial debut, Booksmart, was a widely enjoyed indie comedy that grossed $24.9 million worldwide on a $6 million production budget. While her second film, Don't Worry Darling (2022), was not so well received.

Booksmart was a blessing, but it also creates a certain expectation for yourself when it comes to connecting with the audience, and you forget how subjective it all is,” she explained. “So my next movie has a 38 on Rotten Tomatoes, and I’ve been reflecting on how healthy it is to be reminded of how fickle it all is. You’ve already been through the thing that strikes fear in the heart of directors. What if they don’t like it? Once you’ve survived that, there’s liberation.”

The Invite premiered at the Sundance Film Festival with a splash. Wilde had an irrefutable demand from her distributor.

“Every distributor wanted to take this movie to theaters, and I was adamant that we didn’t go to a streamer,” she said. “From all the non-streamers, they all wanted to put it in a theater. That’s a really good sign for everyone.”

A24 ended up winning the bid. The 42-year-old director believes that although the future of moving-going feels uncertain, there is hope.

“What we’re seeing is the triumph of independent film, independent studios, and independent companies saying, ‘We’re going to approach this differently.’ There is an appetite for theatrical films and comedies,” Wilde said. “Audiences are very motivated to support independent filmmakers, and that’s a good thing for all of us.”

The Invite is currently playing at select theatres. It stars Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, PenélopeCruz, and Edward Norton.

Trump's New White House Gift for America's 250th Birthday: A Massive Golden Eagle That Has Everyone Talking

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:30pm

Donald Trump just gave the White House a 250th birthday gift, and it’s already causing controversy.

On Monday evening, the President shared a photo of the country’s new Bday present—a massive gold eagle that now sits on the White House. Trump posted a photo on X and Instagram showcasing the opulent exterior accent, with the caption, “A Golden Gift to the White House for its 250th Birthday Year!”

The comments started pouring in almost immediately. So, what do Americans have to say about the gilded birthday bird? X users clearly don’t think the ‘gift’ has style, writing, “That is so tacky!” and, “Thanks for the gesture but it looks out of place, I don’t like it.” Others wondered why he chose this particular presidential present: “I think half his motivation for doing things like this is because he loves to trigger the left,” and some doubted the eagle’s authenticity: “I take it that’s AI…even Trump wouldn’t have thought that was a good idea.”

"A Golden Gift to the White House for its 250th Birthday Year!" - President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/XV2sk6smcf

— The White House (@WhiteHouse) June 30, 2026

Critics also joined in on the White House’s Facebook page, with one sarcastically asking, “Was that a prize at the great American county fair?” and another adding, “Elvis’s belt buckle.”

Things didn't look much better for the golden eagle over on the White House’s Instagram feed. Commenters mused, “I’d take the promised fabulous healthcare”, “And how does this help the American people again? Please explain,” and “Made in China?”

Of course, some social media users supported the bold bird. One Trump fan wrote, “Okay that might just be the most beautiful thing that’s ever existed,” and another praised the present writing on X, “That is awesome and absolutely beautiful.” Others chimed in with compliments, including “The Bold Eagle—An enduring symbol of American identity” and a simple “Beautiful.”

Supposing this flashy front door overhang is real and not another AI-generated image, it wouldn’t be the first White House or Washington, D.C., renovation made by the commander-in-chief. Trump is famously redoing the White House’s East Wing ballroom, overhauled the Rose Garden (covering it with a patio) in 2025, and recently attempted to turn the Reflecting Pool “American flag blue.”

'Young and the Restless' Actor Tom Ligon Dies at 85 After Six-Decade Career

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:22pm

The stage and screen have lost one of their most versatile performers. Tom Ligon (born: Thomas Bryant Ligon), the New York stage veteran who won over daytime audiences as Lucas on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, has died at 85.

His friend Steve Hayes shared the news in a Facebook post, confirming that Ligon died on Friday, June 26, in New York City. An excerpt from the heartwarming tribute reads, “Farewell actor TOM LIGON. A West Village staple, who did everything from Broadway to movies to television. However, I first fell in love with him when he landed on the cover of AFTER DARK magazine in the ‘70’s.”

Ligon’s death was also confirmed on Monday by SAG-AFTRA New York Local. His cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Ligon's path into acting started with a stroke of luck most performers only dream about. While he was a student at Yale, his turn as Kilroy in Tennessee Williams' "Camino Real" caught the playwright's attention, The Hollywood Reporter reported. That moment opened the door to a working life on the New York stage. Broadway followed soon after. Ligon made his stage debut in 1963 in "Have I Got a Girl for You," then returned in 1969 with "Angela" and "Love Is a Time of Day," as per Playbill. In 1968, he created the role of Orson in the off-Broadway favorite "Your Own Thing."

The screen came calling, too. Ligon landed parts in Paint Your Wagon (1969) and Bang the Drum Slowly (1973), the baseball drama in which he picked up a guitar and sang "Streets of Laredo" in a locker room scene alongside Robert De Niro, per the outlet.

His 1971 film Jump later found an unlikely champion in Quentin Tarantino, who called it "this amazing film that no one's ever seen" and described it as "hilarious and very satirical" in a 2013 interview.

From 1978 to 1982, Ligon played Lucas Lorenzo Prentiss on The Young and the Restless, a run that earned him a loyal fan base, according to IMDb. His impressive resume reached well past Genoa City.

On the big screen, Ligon appeared in 1977's Joyride and 1989's Cutting Class, where a young, not-yet-famous Brad Pitt played his son.

On television, he popped up on shows including Starsky & Hutch, Police Woman, Dallas, Medical Center, Charlie's Angels, Law & Order, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Baretta, and The Heart, She Holler.

He also had a recurring run as inmate Alvin Yood on HBO's Oz from 2001 to 2003. His credits include daytime soaps like Loving, Santa Barbara, AnotherWorld, and All My Children.

In 2013, Ligon made headlines for a surprising reason. At 72, he came face to face with an intruder who slipped through the window of his Greenwich Village apartment and sent the man falling, The New York Times reported in August 2013. When Ligon later heard the burglar, described as a career criminal, had been sent to prison, he had a fittingly cheeky response. "Well, I guess he's not having much of a 'career' right now. It's like acting, you've got your ups and downs," he told the outlet.

Away from the spotlight, Ligon spent decades advocating for other performers. He was a SAG-AFTRA member for nearly 60 years, served on the New York Local board, chaired the National Seniors Committee, and co-chaired the New York Seniors Committee, according to Deadline.

Ligon married actress and dialect coach Katharine Dunfee Clarke, famously known as K.C. Ligon, in 1976. They were married until she died in 2009, as per Playbill. She spent her career coaching some of the industry's biggest names, among them James Earl Jones, Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman, Variety reported at the time.

2009 Alicia Keys Anthem Returns to the Charts as New York Rejoices Knicks' Win

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:15pm

With the Knicks' long-overdue NBA Finals victory this month came a seemingly endless celebration across New York.

It should come as no surprise, then, that one of the Big Apple's "anthems" (as it's been dubbed over the years) has seen a resurgence of late thanks to the team's championship win.

Released in 2009, "Empire State of Mind" was one of the smash-hit singles off Jay-Z's acclaimed album The Blueprint III.

Hip-hop fans probably know the rap verses by heart, but it's featured artist Alicia Keys' iconic chorus that makes the end result such a household track to NYC residents. Check out the nostalgic music video below.

Fans are still flooding the YouTube upload's comments section to this day, to show their appreciation for the timeless anthem. "Best song ever in the world👍," one user wrote earlier on Monday, June 29, while another person commented not long beforehand, "this song really inspires me to go in nyc."

And now, more than 15 years after "Empire State of Mind" won multiple Grammy Awards, it's climbing the charts once again thanks to Jalen Brunson and his Knicks teammates clinching the 2026 NBA championship.

It also helps that Keys, 45, recently showed up to perform the track at City Hall in the metropolis to congratulate New York City on the team's victory, Forbes reports.

In effect, "Empire State of Mind" has returned to multiple Billboard charts and even manages to debut on several it has never reached before. That means Keys has scored a new win on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. this time around, with the rap song starting at No. 127 on the first tally and No. 155 on the latter roster.

The beloved singer-songwriter now counts three appearances on the Billboard Global 200, Forbes also noted on Monday.

1975 Rock Classic, Written Over 4 Years, Made a Surprise Comeback 22 Years Later

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 9:03pm

While Rumours might have produced the most hits of all Fleetwood Mac's records, with all four singles hitting the Top 10, their self-titled 1975 album didn't exactly disappoint. After all, Fleetwood Mac sent three songs to the Top 20 ("Over My Head," "Rhiannon" and "Say You Love Me"), plus it included "Landslide," which went on to become a cross-generational fan-favorite song. But "Landslide" wasn't the only tune from the album that would make a comeback years later.

Written by Lindsey Buckingham before he and Stevie Nicks even joined Fleetwood Mac, "I'm So Afraid" was originally intended for the second Buckingham Nicks album, as the iconic rocker told Entertainment Weekly in 2021.

"We'd been in LA only for like a year and a half," he said. "Things happened pretty fast. The album came out, and it didn't really connect and we were working material for a second album."

According to Buckingham, a demo for "I'm So Afraid" had already been made. This was also the case for all the other Buckingham Nicks tracks that ended up on Fleetwood Mac, which marked the duo's debut with the band.

"It made the process of cutting that first album much easier than it would've otherwise been, working with people we'd never worked with before," Buckingham recalled.

When writing "I'm So Afraid," Buckingham took inspiration from the church music he heard during his childhood as a member of a boys' choir.

"It was an exploration into two things," he explained. "One, into the use of a guitar as a very orchestral thing with a triad of melody going on. And then, the unleashing of the solo at the end, which grew into epic proportions over the years on stage...It also addressed the yin-yang of having confidence and having faith that you have something to offer in a somewhat tenuous environment that is the entertainment industry. And yet, there's always a fear underneath that."

In his 2015 autobiography, Mick Fleetwood revealed that Buckingham worked on "I'm So Afraid" for a total of four years, toiling until he'd "gotten the harmony of the guitar parts so in tune they were a virtual orchestra unto themselves."

The last track on Fleetwood Mac, "I'm So Afraid" was released as the B-side to the song "Over My Head" and became a staple of the band's live shows over the years — even though Buckingham called it "very taxing" to perform on a nightly basis because of the "very long solo" in a 2012 interview.

In fact, "I'm So Afraid" was such a fan-favorite at concerts that Fleetwood Mac included the song on their classic 1997 live album The Dance, which went to #1 on the Billboard 200, earned the band three Grammy nominations and launched a massively successful tour.

Billy Joel's 'Vienna' Hits Major Milestone Nearly 50 Years After Its Release

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 8:51pm

From vinyl to streaming, Billy Joel's "Vienna" continues to stand the test of time.

The track, off of the famed singer's 1977 album, The Stranger, just made it on to Spotify's Billions Club playlist, Joel announced on Instagram recently.

"Vienna waits for you," the social media caption read, referring to the songs beloved lyrics. "'Vienna' is Billy’s 3rd song to join the Billions Club playlist on Spotify."

View this post on Instagram

The playlist, which aptly includes songs that have been streamed on the platform over a billion times, also includes Joel's "Piano Man," which joined in April, and "Uptown Girl," which joined in September 2024, according to Classic Rock 93.9. "Uptown Girl" currently has over 1.4 billion streams, "Piano Man" comes in second at 1.3 billion, with "Vienna" at just over a billion.

Joel's Instagram announcement garnered tons of comments with fans praising the song.

"An amazing song, that should be listened for all people. A song that just saved me," one wrote.

"One of my all-time favorites!" added another.

"I have 'slow down you’re doing fine' tattooed on my arm," said another, referencing other lyrics of the song.

The song, which has become known as a coming of age tune, is also about Joel's relationship with his estranged father who lived in Vienna, Austria. Joel explained the the backstory of the song in his 2025 HBO documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes.

Additionally, in an interview with the tourism board of Vienna, he said, "When I wrote ‘Vienna waits for you’, I meant that it is a place where you close the circle. By going to Vienna, suddenly things started to make sense in the world for me."

When asked to rank his own songs during a 2017 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Joel put "Vienna" in his top five.

"We give the audience a choice, 'Do you want 'Vienna' or do you want 'Just The Way You Are,?'" he said, referring to his live performances, most notably at Madison Square Garden. "They pick 'Vienna.'"

Other artists on the Billions Club playlist include songs by Fleetwood Mac and Lady Gaga.

A Beloved 'Love Island USA' Pair Just Made History as the Season's First Official Couple

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 8:42pm

Love Island USA stars Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff got the first official date of the season, and while away from the Villa, the pair decided to lock it down and become official.

Early in the episode, Trinity received a text message announcing that she and Bryce would be leaving the villa for a date.

The two take a jet ski to a boat in the middle of the ocean to have a romantic picnic and conversation.

While there, Trinity opened up, explaining how she stayed away from older men, “I never thought I'd be with somebody older because I've always been scared of an older guy because I felt like they'll be more manipulative, but like when I talk to you, I feel like the opposite. Like I see it more as a positive,” she explained.

Bryce shared how it’s the little things that Trinity does that make him happy. “Every time I hear you laugh, it makes me happy. Like your laugh literally gives me joy,” he shared.

As the conversation continued, Bryce explained that in the past, when he had dated the two, it had just been over time, but it was never established, “it's always just assumed,” but this time he wants to do something different.

So he asks her, “Would you wanna be my girlfriend?” To which Trinity excitedly accepted.

The two spent the rest of their date swimming in the ocean before excitedly returning to the villa and informing the Islanders that not only are they closed off, but they are officially boyfriend and girlfriend.

Trinity and Bryce are the first couple in Love Island USA Season 8 to make things official, having coupled up on Day 1, and then navigated the challenges of not only both exploring bombshells on Day 3, but also the twists and turns of Casa Amor. Nevertheless, they always found their way back to one another and are now set to continue as official boyfriend and girlfriend.

Love Island USA Season 8 continues Tuesday at 9 P.M. ET streaming exclusively on Peacock.

’90s Alternative Rock Band Bring Back Their Iconic ‘Rapid-Fire’ Hit 32 Years Later

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 8:38pm

Letters to Cleo, a band that rewrote the rules to alternative rock by injecting the subgenre with a rush of power pop and female energy, were out in full force over the weekend.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Hyping up the crowds at the Des Moines Arts Festival yesterday, June 28, the band played a multi-track set that, of course, included their signature hit, “Here & Now.”

Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors got The Des Moines Arts Festival going in the best way ever and the crowd felt every note,” Degy Entertainmentwrote about the event on Instagram. “Then Letters to Cleo and Fastball brought us back to the '90s, the days of mixtapes and MTV. Turns out those songs still hit just as hard. Maybe harder. 🎶 Some things only get better with time.”

For ‘90s kids, “Here & Now” was the ultimate vocal challenge, a complete diction trap that demanded perfect enunciation of a whirlwind of nearly indecipherable lyrics. The song lived on countless mixtapes, blasted from bedroom stereos, and probably inspired more than a few viewers to watch MTV with subtitles.

The song was even difficult for Letters to Cleo frontwoman Kay Hanley, who told Songfacts in 2022 that the track’s rapid-fire, wordy hooks made for an oral marathon that required intense mental and physical effort.

“I love playing it,” she said. “I love singing it. It's hard now—it challenges me. I can't sleep on that song. It’s hard, but I love it.”

You’d never know it, though. Last night, Hanley nailed the song from, “The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky,” to, “But could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition in the.” If you know, you know. The biggest single from their debut album, Aurora Gory Alice, the track peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 and propelled its parent record to No. 123 on the Billboard 200.

Formed in Boston by vocalist Hanley and guitarist Greg McKenna, the group eventually included Michael Eisenstein, Stacy Jones, and Scott Riebling. The name of the band came from Hanley’s pen pal, and though the band said farewell in 2000, they have since reunited for touring and performances.

Southwest Airlines Makes Massive Flight Cuts at Major U.S. Airport

Mon, 06/29/2026 - 8:34pm

Southwest Airlines is making another round of changes to its flight network, this time eliminating seven nonstop routes from St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

The airline confirmed per Simple Flying that several routes previously offered during the busy July-through-September travel period are no longer available this year, affecting destinations across the Midwest as well as California.

Which Southwest routes are being cut?

The discontinued nonstop routes include flights from St. Louis to:

  • Des Moines, Iowa
  • Little Rock, Arkansas
  • Tulsa, Oklahoma
  • Wichita, Kansas
  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Long Beach, California
  • San Jose, California

While travelers will no longer be able to fly nonstop between those cities and St. Louis, Southwest says customers can still reach many of the destinations through connecting flights.

"While it is true we “ended” seven nonstop routes from STL, we also added routes elsewhere to account for that change," a Southwest spokesperson told PEOPLE. The airline noted that it now offers new nonstop service on routes including Chicago Midway to Des Moines, Tulsa, and Wichita, as well as Dallas to Oklahoma City and Nashville to Little Rock.

Southwest has been adjusting a lot of things lately

St. Louis isn't the only city affected. Earlier this month, the airline eliminated 43 nonstop routes in Florida, including flights between Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale and Kansas City and Jacksonville.

And earlier this year, the carrier introduced new rules for passengers traveling with portable chargers. Under the updated policy, travelers are limited to one lithium-powered portable charger with a capacity of 100 watt-hours or less. The device must also be kept on their person or in a carry-on bag stored beneath the seat in front of them, rather than in an overhead bin.

Southwest has also prohibited passengers from using in-seat power outlets to recharge portable battery packs during flights. While portable chargers are still permitted, they must remain visible throughout the flight. According to the airline, the policy changes are intended to improve its ability to "contain and mitigate lithium battery incidents."
