Anna Wintour Stuns After Ditching Signature Look in Rare Public Appearance
It’s not often that Anna Wintour strays from her carefully curated image that has defined her trademark look for decades, but when she does, fans notice it immediately.
During a rare public appearance since her retirement, the former Vogue editor-in-chief stunned onlookers with a subtle change.
The British-American media executive and fashion icon marked the first day of London Fashion Week together with Queen Camilla.
The two powerful ladies came together to discuss British fashion and the charity launched by Her Majesty known as The Queen’s Reading Room.
While Queen Camilla looked stylish in an all-black outfit, the 76-year-old fashion icon matched the vibe with her burgundy dress and a matching long coat with a velvet collar and caramel-colored high-heeled boots.
However, it was her decision to ditch her signature oversized sunglasses that quickly caught the public’s attention.

“Oh, she took the sunglasses off, what an honour,” a follower noted.
Some preferred to see the fashion titan without her iconic style, noting, “Glad to see Anna without her sunglasses on!”
“Almost didn't recognize Anna without the sunglasses,” an Instagram user wrote.
“Glad Anna took off her glasses. It’s only polite,” a fan commented, seemingly referring to her meeting with the Queen.
Another fan also noticed a subtle change in her hairstyle, writing, “Looks like Anna darkened her hair a bit. They look great!”
Apart from the style shifts, one commenter also noticed a glow about Wintour and said, “Love Anna ! I hope she is enjoying retirement.”

One notable instance was during a ceremony with King Charles III. She was presented with the Order of the Companions of Honour at Buckingham Palace in February 2025. The gesture was a respectful move in the presence of the royal family.
Another occasion was in January of the same year, when she was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House.
In 2019, she revealed the reason behind choosing this style. Wintour told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that she finds eyewear “incredibly useful because you avoid people knowing what you’re thinking about.”

Why Was Rose Dropped From Season 3 of ‘The Night Manager’? Gabriel Basso Answers, Teases Her Return
The Night Agent season three hit Netflix today.
But there's one familiar face who's missing.
Luciane Buchanan, the Rose to Gabriel Basso's Peter, is nowhere to be found. Fans of the thriller who have kept up with the binge know how the two left things; so as to not spoil any plot lines for the rest of you, let’s just say Rose and Peter went their separate ways.
According to Deadline, however, a surprise return isn’t out of the question.
Chatting with the show's creator, Shawn Ryan, and star, Basso, the outlet shared a peek into the minds of the writers and why Rose left on the cutting room floor.
“In the writers room, we certainly discussed it,” Ryan said. “In fact, that was our starting position: What would a Peter-Rose-centric story in season three look like? There were moments in that conversation that felt a little derivative of the first couple seasons. And then we challenged ourselves, What would it look like without Rose in the season, and we came up with a lot of what you see in season three. So it was completely a creative decision.”
Gah, but the longing, the yearning, the romance.
View this post on InstagramAddressing the fandom Peter and Rose have created as a couple, Ryan said, “Yeah, I know it’s a topic. I don’t mind answering it, because my answer has always been consistent. I love Luciane and I’d love to see Rose on the show again at some point. This was the best story that we felt we could tell.”
Last year, Buchanan talked with People magazine about her absence from season three. After spending the first two seasons by Peter's side, the actress said the writers jsut couldn't make her storyline work with the new financial-world plot lines.
“They were like, 'We’ve been trying to find a way to bring [Rose] in, but we want to do her character justice and not make her a sub-character,’” Buchanan said. “I totally respected that decision and agreed. I was like, ‘If it makes sense to a story, I’ll do that. If it doesn’t, let’s not force that.’"
Despite having no lines, role, or appearance in the third season, girl is still on the lips of nearly every character. The writers made sure to keep the spirit of Rose alive through direct and indirect references.
Addressing Rose’s physical absence-slash-spiritual presence, Basso told Deadline, “Rose might not be present physically, but she is a presence mentally."
"She was a very significant person for Peter, and I don’t think that he’s the kind of person that just forgets things and moves on," he continues. "So she might not be there on screen, but she’s definitely still a motivating factor in his life. And I think he’s definitely taking away things that she’s told him and applying them to his situation in season three. She might be back in season four. Chelsea came back for season three.”
If the sting of Rose’s loss is too much, you can head over to Apple TV and binge Chief of War, in which she stars with Jason Momoa. The story of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands, it hasn’t yet been renewed for a second season, though creator and star Momoa has expressed interest in a another go-round, per Coming Soon.
The Night Agent, season three, is now streaming on Netflix.

“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week,” he added. “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”

Donald Trump Is Directing Government To Release Files On Aliens, Extraterrestrial Life
President Donald Trumphas shared a post indicating that he has directed government officials to identify and release files related to aliens and extraterrestrial life.
As shared by the White House account on X, Trump's message read, "Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

— The White House (@WhiteHouse) February 20, 2026Trump's latest comments come on the heels of multiple alien-related president and former president commentaries. On February 13, Former President Barack Obamaappeared in an interview with Brian Tyler Cohen and, when asked about the existence of aliens, said, "They're real, but I haven’t seen them."
This sent the internet into a tailspin, with many taking this to mean Obama was confirming the existence of aliens. However, Obama clarified his comments soon after, explaining, "I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify."
He went on, "Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!"
This led to a previous statement from Trump in which he said, "[Obama] gave classified information. He's not supposed to be doing that."
This most recent update, with Trump instructing government agencies to identify and release files related to aliens, is the latest in this ongoing string of alien-related comments, and it seems the next step could be files on extraterrestrial life being released to the public.
2005 Classic Ranked Best ‘American Sitcom’ of All Time
Nearly 20 years after its debut, The Office has officially been ranked the best American sitcom of all time in a new list from Collider, and for many fans, the honor feels long overdue.
Sitcoms, short for "situational comedies," traditionally revolve around a recurring cast in a consistent setting, with humor driven by character quirks and everyday scenarios. While many assume sitcoms must be 30 minutes long, that runtime is more convention than rule. What truly defines the genre is its ability to generate laughs from relatable circumstances, and few shows have done that more memorably than The Office.
Premiering in 2005, the NBC comedy was adapted for American audiences by Greg Daniels from the British series created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Set inside the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, the show followed an ensemble of office employees navigating corporate monotony, awkward management, and workplace relationships.
At its center was Steve Carell's Michael Scott, whose blend of cringe-worthy leadership and surprising vulnerability helped anchor the series. The show's mockumentary style, including its now-iconic "look to camera" reaction shots, reshaped the sitcom landscape and influenced later hits such as Modern Family and Abbott Elementary.
"Michael Scott is someone with an enormous emotional blind spot," said Carell in a 2025 interview with NPR. "He is someone who truly does not understand how others perceive him. And if he did gain any knowledge, his head would explode."
The cast of The Office season one. Photo by: Paul Drinkwater/NBCU Photo BankThough its first six-episode season received mixed reviews, Daniels adjusted the tone in subsequent seasons, softening the harsher edges and making the characters more relatable and optimistic. The shift paid off. Over nine seasons and more than 200 episodes, The Office became a cultural phenomenon and launched the careers of actors including Mindy Kaling, John Krasinski, and B.J. Novak.
More than a decade after its 2013 finale, the series remains one of the most-streamed comedies in the world. It has evolved into a comfort-watch staple, particularly among Gen Z viewers who often cite it as their go-to background series.
Its legacy has continued to expand, with a follow-up series titled The Paper premiering on Peacock and featuring the return of Oscar Nunez's character alongside the same documentary crew concept.
In a television era crowded with prestige dramas and rapid-fire content cycles, The Office endures as a defining American sitcom. The show transformed workplace awkwardness into timeless comedy and continues to resonate with audiences nearly two decades later.

Lady Gaga Brings Los Angeles Mayhem Ball to a Halt in New Concert Video
It's a new year and a new Errors Tour!
Lady Gaga experienced a moment that fans of Taylor Swift became quite fond of throughout the duration of the Eras Tour, which came to be known fondly as the Errors Tour, when she missed her mark on stage during her first night at the Kia Forum this week for the Mayhem Ball.
The "Born This Way" singer stopped the show and took things back a few steps after missing her mark, according to a new video shared on X by a fanpage dedicated to Mother Monster.
Lady Gaga Addressed the Crowd As She Paused Her PerformanceThe clip featured a darkened stage, with the performer's voice ringing out over the loudspeakers, “Hi, it’s Gaga. I’m actually in the middle of the stage.” She sounded a little bashful as she explained, “I’m sorry, I was a little late for my cue and I just want to make sure this is perfect. Do you mind if we just stop and go about 30 seconds back?”
The crowd cheered enthusiastically despite the disruption to the show, and she replied, “Ok, just give me one minute.” The camera caught her in the dark descending an on-stage staircase, waving to the crowd as she moved back to her starting point. The crowd chanted their adoration in the otherwise silent space, which she seemed to have heard as she replied, “We love you so much, thank you for coming to the show tonight!”
The video also included a moment of her telling the audience, “I just need a couple of pins for my hat,” with a crew member standing next to her securing her wardrobe before the show could go on.
According to Christine Samra, who reviewed the concert for local news affiliate KTLA 5, the interruption came as she was preparing to perform “Dead Dance.” Samra also reports that the songstress called for pins several songs later, suggesting the clip actually mashed two pauses into one.
Lady Gaga precisou pausar o show da noite passada, devido a um erro de marcação. Gentilmente, ela explicou aos fãs o que estava acontecendo, sem sair do palco, e contou com a compreensão de todos. 🖤
“Oi, é a Gaga. Na verdade, estou no meio do palco agora. Desculpa, eu me… pic.twitter.com/vZlj8BgArr
The audience received warning shortly before Gaga took the stage that night that the performance was being recorded and they might experiences some stop and starts. In fact, the whole Los Angeles-area run is reportedly being filmed for a concert film directed by Sam Wrench, who is also the director behind Swift's first smash Eras Tour film.
Fans suspected that "had it been a regular show and not recorded she would’ve just kept on going but she probably wanted it to look good..." with some dubbing her "so precious," "such a cutie" and a "high-level professional" for her transparency.
One noted how "weird" it is "to think that every step is choreographed" so strictly, but Gaga is far from the first to take things back a step if they're not exactly how she wants them to be.
Halsey is also known for starting entire songs over if the timing feels off or if they have to pause part way through for crowd emergencies. During the Eras Tour, Swift was spotted locking in on her marks as she approached them, and has also started songs over after messing them up.
1988 Chart-Topper Ranked 'Worst No. 1 Rock Album of the '80s'
Just because an album goes to the top of the charts doesn't mean it's destined to be a classic, as music history makes very clear. Sometimes a record sells a ton of copies based on the popularity of the band or artist but ends up being a disappointment, other times the music just doesn't age particularly well. (Many times, it's a combination of both of those factors.)
This is especially true of some of the most successful rock albums of the '80s, a decade celebrating all kinds of behavior that's frowned upon now. So when the entertainment website What Culture decided to rank the "10 worst #1 rock albums of the 1980's," there was no shortage of options to choose from.
Warning: This list is bound to make some people angry, and that's okay. Musical taste is subjective, after all. For example, this writer vehemently disagrees with the idea that the album in tenth place belongs here: Double Fantasy (1980) byJohn Lennon and Yoko Ono. Apparently, it made the list because of the criticism it received immediately upon release (some thought it idealized Lennon and Ono's marriage, among other things), though many of those reviews were pulled out of respect when Lennon was murdered three weeks after Double Fantasy came out. (But seriously, how an album with songs like "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" and "Watching the Wheels" could make a "worst of" list is beyond me.)
Interestingly enough, #9 was the only Styx album to ever make it to the very top of the charts: Paradise Theatre (1981). As What Culture argued, while it was technically a huge success, there isn't "anything special on this album to elevate it to the dizzying heights of its peers." ("Too Much Time on My Hands" is pretty great, though.) Next up, at #8, was U2's Rattle and Hum (1988), which — though it spawned such hits as "Desire" and "Angel of Harlem" — got mixed reviews upon release from both critics and fans who considered it a step down from The Joshua Tree (1987).
REO Speedwagon had a massive hit with Hi Infidelity, coming in at #7, which spent a staggering 15 weeks dominating the charts and gave the world such radio mainstays as "Take it on the Run" and "Keep on Loving You." However, the record earned its place among the "worst" because it's "cheesier than a Sunday farmer's market," in the opinion of What Culture (okay, and a lot of other people). As for the album taking the #6 slot, to call it "rock" is kind of a stretch...but whatever you want to label Huey Lewis and the News' fourth studio album, Fore! (1986), it was popular...at the time. (Why? Maybe because it's "Hip to Be Square.")
Kicking off the top five was Fleetwood Mac's Mirage (1982), the band's follow-up to the experimental (and divisive) Tusk. While it's definitely not Fleetwood Mac's best album, whether it belongs on a list of the worst albums of the decade is another question entirely (considering the album has "Gypsy" on it, some might say the answer is no). Next up, in fourth place, Asia's self-titled 1982 debut was slammed from the start for sounding artificial and hollow, but hey, they're still playing "Heat of the Moment" on the radio, right?
In third place, appropriately, was Boston's Third Stage (1986). The album was supposed to be somewhat of a comeback for the band, and while it sold well, fans weren't thrilled (though "Amanda" was a hit). Pat Benatar came in second with Precious Time (1981), her only number one album...which is odd, considering nobody really remembers any of the songs on it.
As for the worst rock album of the '80s...that dubious distinction went to Van Halen's OU812 (1988). The band's second album with Sammy Hagar, it produced the hits "When It's Love" and "Finish What Ya Started," but reviews were mixed...and it probably didn't win over any Van Halen fans who were still upset about David Lee Roth's departure.

Applebee's Teams Up with Two Hip-Hop Legends for Its Newest Cocktails
Applebee's is adding some serious star power to the bar menu. The casual dining chain has launched a new lineup of limited-time cocktails created in partnership with hip-hop icons Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, available nationwide for a limited run.
The new drinks, called Still Together Sips, feature the duo's premium Still G.I.N. and are available exclusively at Applebee's locations nationwide. Designed as fun, shareable cocktails, the launch goes all in on nostalgia, music culture, and the growing trend of celebrity-backed spirits showing up on restaurant menus.

What's Included in Applebee's New Still Together Sips View this post on InstagramThe limited-time lineup includes two cocktails, both made with Still G.I.N., a spirit launched by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in late 2024. The first is the $7 "Young, Wild & Free Fruit Punch," a sweeter, fruit-forward drink made with grenadine, lemon sour and pineapple.
The second is the $10 "Rollin' on the Beach," which combines peach schnapps, prickly pear and orange and cranberry juices. Applebee's says this cocktail is poured tableside and served in a chilled shaker tin meant for multiple pours.
Both drinks are garnished with collectible temporary tattoos—a playful detail that ties into the brand's "toast to real friendships" theme.

The Gin Behind the DrinksThe cocktails are made with Still G.I.N., the premium spirit created by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The gin launched nationwide in late 2024 and has quickly become the centerpiece of the duo's expanding beverage lineup.
It's distilled in the U.S. and finished with notes of tangerine, jasmine and coriander, which gives it a smoother, slightly citrusy profile compared to more traditional, juniper-heavy gins. Still G.I.N. picked up a Master medal at the 2025 Gin Masters Awards, helping raise its profile beyond the celebrity connection.
Dr. Dre has said the goal was to create a gin that improved on what he'd been drinking for years, calling the final product something the team felt confident bringing to people.
The brand followed an earlier release of canned Gin & Juice cocktails, a ready-to-drink line packaged in 12-ounce cans with flavors like citrus, melon and passion fruit. This new line of drinks is a nod to the pair's long-running association with gin culture and music history.
Bringing the spirit to a chain like Applebee's makes sense—it introduces the gin to a wider audience while giving diners something that feels a little different from the usual vodka or tequila-heavy cocktail lineup.

Applebee's Bets Big on Celebrity SpiritsThis isn't the first time Applebee's has teamed up with big names in the beverage world. The chain has increasingly embraced celebrity-created alcohol brands as part of its drink strategy.
In recent years, Applebee's has featured collaborations with Dos Hombres mezcal, founded by Breaking Bad actors Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, as well as Teremana Tequila from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Earlier this month, sibling brand Fuzzy's Taco Shop also rolled out exclusive drinks made with Matthew and Camila McConaughey's tequila brand.
Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg aren't new to casual dining partnerships either. The duo previously teamed up with Red Lobster for a cocktail called The Side Hustle, made with Still G.I.N., showing how celebrity-backed spirits are increasingly finding their way onto chain restaurant menus.
When and Where You Can Try ThemThe Still Together Sips are available for a limited time at participating Applebee's locations across the U.S. The drinks are dine-in only in most markets and are offered while supplies last.
For fans of celebrity drink collaborations, or anyone just looking for a fun new cocktail order, this may be one of the more unexpected menu additions hitting casual dining this season.

Who Went Home in 'The Traitors' Season 4 Tonight? Rob is In Trouble!
For weeks, we've seen Rob Rausch play an absolutely masterful game of staying undetected on The Traitors. His low-key demeanor and good-guy persona has kept him in everyone's good graces — and off their radar. But with only a handful of players left on Season 4, everyone is being looked at, even seemingly the most Faithful. And so, for the first time this season, some meaningful heat was thrown Rob's way. But did he survive to make it to the finale?
Here's our full spoiler-filled recap of The Traitors Season 4 last night, including who went home.
Euan Cherry/PEACOCK
As an incredibly successful chef, Kristen Kish has learned to trust her intuition over anything. And that was what largely guided her through her time on The Traitors, with a palate refined to spot anything that was off. As a result, Kristen was clocked at one of the most observant players, more likely to butter some bread than butter you up. And, at the end of last episode, she had clocked that Eric Nam was being too quiet, even for him. That wound up being the nail in her coffin, as he and Rob felt she was too dangerous to keep in the game, making sure the Top Chef host's game was cooked.
Natalie Anderson (Faithful) Natalie Anderson on 'The Traitors'Euan Cherry/PEACOCK
Natalie Anderson came into The Traitors with a resume as jacked as her biceps. Her reality TV career spans across three shows, being one of the best-placing Survivor contestants of all time. This time around, however, proved to be less successful. As the gamers were being taken out left and right, Natalie survived, thanks to her tight relationship with Rob. After last night's murder, though, she was once again left confused. Why was she still in the game? It was then that all the "weird" things began to add up, as she and Tara Lipinski conspired to gather the votes against Rob. But, at the Round Table, Tara chose to back off of the argument, leaving Natalie to suddenly fend for herself. She was taken out unanimously, stunned and hurt the Olympic figure skater had left her hanging in the lift.

Now that the 15 chefs have been selected for Season 5 of Next Level Chef, the competition can begin in earnest, but first host/mentor Gordon Ramsay and mentors Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais had to select their teams.
Gordon had a clear vision for his team. He went with an all-female Gordon’s Girls team. Nyesha had been keeping notes and Richard was determined to hang on to his crown this season, but will he draft the winner?
Then, this week’s challenge got spicy with some tasty tacos but as the platform rose, disaster struck for one chef who was too late to the taco party in tonight’s "The Draft/Taco Party" episode.
Here's our spoiler-filled recap of who went home on Next Level Chef tonight.

What was the first challenge on Next Level Chef tonight, and who won it? Christian AlquizaPhoto credit: FOX
For the first challenge, the chefs headed south of the border for a next-level taco party. They were given 30 minutes to create three identical next-level tacos. The winner kept their entire team safe and moved them to the top kitchen for next week’s challenge.
As reigning champions, Team Blais got the top kitchen this week, Team Gordon got the middle-level kitchen and Team Nyesha was in the basement.
Team Nyesha’s Emerson was late to the platform, and as he tried to throw his dish on, it fell to the ground. “I had a damn good dish that would have brought us to the top,” he said. It didn’t mean he was eliminated but it did mean when Nyesha had to pick which member of her team would compete in the elimination round, she chose him.
Andy also almost missed the platform, and her dish didn’t get put on the correct level.
The winner of the taco challenge was Christian from Team Blais.
“Top dish first round, are you kidding,” he said. “Wow!”
For his part, Gordon chose Mareya, who had had the worst tacos on his team, to cook in the elimination round.
What was the elimination challenge on Next Level Chef tonight, and who lost it? Mareya Ibrahim-JonesPhoto credit: FOX
The elimination challenge stayed south of the border with the challenge being a next-level version of a mole entree.
“I have never cooked a mole in my life,” Emerson admitted. “I don’t even know what’s in a mole.”
Even so, Emerson won the challenge, sending Mareya, who knew how to make a mole sauce, home.
“I cooked my heart out today, and I have no regrets,” she said. “It’s something I’ll never forget.”
Next Level Chef airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Streams next day on Hulu.
1999 Rockers Ranked Best ‘American Rock Band’ of the 2000s
When The White Stripes burst into the music scene in 1999, they managed to break away from Detroit’s underground garage-rock circuit to become one of the defining American rock bands of the 2000s.
Formed by the duo Jack White, who handled songwriting, vocals, guitar and piano, and Meg White on drums and vocals, they proved that being a minimalist rock band does not require more members to make an impact.
With their take on the ‘60s rock revival and riff-driven techniques blended with Delta blues traditions, the two-member band introduced iconic anthems such as “Seven Nation Army,” “Icky Thump,” and “Ball and Biscuit.”
The White Stripes’ legacy in music, especially in the new millennium, ranked them as the Best ‘American Rock Band’ of the 2000s.
As cited by Ultimate Classic Rock, the rock duo was not just another indie band, but they “were the most poised for stardom.”
Their unique take on the blues-rock style propelled them into the mainstream, with their fourth studio album, Elephant, selling over four million copies worldwide and receiving 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA.

Not only did The White Stripes achieve massive commercial success, but their iconic song "Seven Nation Army,” also on the same album, became a global football anthem, mainly because of its rhythmic and simple riff.
Jack White once shared in an interview how meaningful it was for them to see their song become a part of a culture.
"I am honored that the Italians have adopted this song as their own,” he said as mentioned by Goal. “Nothing is more beautiful in music than when people embrace a melody and allow it to enter the pantheon of folk music."
Apart from this, the band also earned the respect of influential music artists, among them country legend Loretta Lynn, prompting several collaborations, as well as an unlikely friendship between Jack White and Lynn that lasted until her death in 2022.
Besides The White Stripes, the ranking also features several notable bands that defined the era.
Following the rock duo are Green Day, The Killers, The Strokes and My Chemical Romance in the top five, while The Black Keys, Drive-By Truckers, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen and Wilco round out the top 10 best American rock bands of the 2000s.
73-Year-Old Rock Singer Gets Candid About Her Post-Stroke Reality: 'I Still Struggle When I Walk'
Lucinda Williams scrapped an entire album to write what she calls a "battle cry" for the current political climate.
The three-time Grammy winner opened up about the urgency behind her latest studio album, World’s Gone Wrong. She described the collection of protest songs as a necessary "battle cry" and a search for "grit and grace" during a tense political moment.
The album debuted in late January. The 73-year-old singer and songwriter revealed that she found writing protest songs difficult earlier in her career despite her long-standing admiration for Bob Dylan. That changed during Donald Trump's presidency, which shifted her creative focus and sparked the new material.
Navigating the Stage Without Her Signature InstrumentWhile the music takes a firm stance, Williams' return to the stage requires ongoing physical adjustments. Following a severe stroke in 2020, she continues to tour throughout the country but still cannot play the guitar.
Williams remains candid about her physical reality. She noted that she struggles with her balance and relies on her tour manager to physically assist her on and off the stage during live performances.
"I still struggle when I walk," she told NPRin late January. "Sometimes I hold on to the mic stand just to balance myself. I can sing. I'm not playing guitar right now. That's going to have to come later."

Channeling the Darkness Into Direct ActionWilliams has always embraced heavy subject matter in her storytelling. She noted that industry executives initially pushed back against her gritty style.
"I had trouble getting a record deal because people kept telling me my songs are too dark," Williams explained. "The darkness, that's what makes things interesting."
On World’s Gone Wrong, she channels that darkness into direct commentary. The project features a mix of blues, rock and Americana. It also includes a reggae-inspired cover of a Bob Marley song featuring a vocal collaboration with Mavis Staples.
"Every day there was some crazy thing that the president said or made a decision about," Williams said, referencing the inspiration for the project. "And these songs just had to come out."
