Garth Brooks Says This Cover of His 1993 Hit Song Is Better Than His Own Version
Garth Brooks not only gave his stamp of approval when one of his iconic songs was covered, but also declared that the singer did it better than he did.
That’s right, the country legend was blown away by hearing a version of his 1993 hit song “Ain’t Goin’ Down (Til the Sun Comes Up).”
Country singer Morgan Evans appeared on the God’s Country podcast to chat with brothers Dan Isbell and Reid Isbell, who host the podcast. During the interview, Evans gave a brief acoustic cover of Brooks' song with Dan playing guitar, and it was music magic.
Brooks got wind of the cover, and he couldn't hide that he was very impressed with Evans version.
“Dude!!!!! Are you kidding me??? I can’t sing that song without going into cardiac arrest and you guys make it look easy!!!! OUT doing Garth stuff better than Garth!!!! Honored, flattered and absolutely LOVE that moment, love g,” wrote the country legend in his bold declaration.
View this post on InstagramThere’s no question that getting a rave review like that from Brooks is beyond amazing.
Fans were also delighted by Evans and Dan’s version of Brooks song. In fact, the comments section of the podcast clip posted on Instagram had fans losing their minds.
“Definitely record this one!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” insisted a fan. Another fan agreed, adding, “Sounds like @morganevansmusic needs to hop in the studio and record this one 😍😍😍😍.”

'16 & Pregnant' Alum's Son's Reaction to Her Episode Will Break Your Heart: 'A Hard Watch'
At least one good thing has come from the controversial documentary series 16 & Pregnant: Season 2, Episode 2's Nikkole Ledda's (née Paulun) son, Lyle.
While the MTV series, and similar shows like Teen Mom, are abundant in criticism, viewers are applauding the now-31-year-old (possibly 32, as her exact date of birth is not public knowledge), for a job well done in raising her oldest, who is now 16 himself.
Ledda recently sat down with the teen, whose birth was documented on the aforementioned episode of 16 & Pregnant, and allowed him to watch it for the first time, sharing some of his thoughts with her TikTok followers.
"You guys asked for his commentary so here it is 🙈," she captioned the video, which featured the teen's reactions to various scenes. "most [of] the time he was too stunned to speak but he had some things to say as well 😬."
Lyle Was Affronted on His Mother's BehalfThe teen seemed stunned by his father’s behavior throughout the episode, as he often insulted Nikkole's friends, antagonized her throughout the pregnancy and labor, and even went toe-to-toe with her mom in the hospital.
@nikkoleleddaYou guys asked for his commentary so here it is 🙈 most the time he was too stunned to speak but he had some things to say as well 😬 #teenmom
♬ original sound - nikkole“He’s wilding—why is he so crazy?” Lyle asked at the start of the video, which showcased Nikkole trying on dresses for a school dance. “Why’d you let him bully you?”
But when the time came for Ledda to give birth to Lyle, things got even worse. While she cried into her boyfriend’s shoulder throughout the contraction pain, his cheeks ballooned with stifled laughter, before he said, “I think guys’ pain tolerances are super higher than women’s.”
“Why is he so dense?” Lyle quipped, wondering, “What makes him say that in that moment?”
As the scene went on, he slumped into the couch, adding, “I have no words. It’s a hard watch.”
Before the brief video ended, he called his dad “a walking cliche.”
The couple broke up not long after Lyle's birth, and Josh eventually went to prison on several charges.
Fans Applauded His Emotional MaturityThe social media influencer's followers commended Ledda for Lyle's maturity, telling her, "What a wonderful kid YOU raised!!!"
"'Why you letting him treat you like that?' Awww ❤️you raised a good man," another agreed, while a third emphasized, "The fact he’s more mature then his dad was at that age shows you did a great job raising him 🥰."
"Girl we were ALL so mad at your episode. Watching the literal baby also be mad about it 16 years later is so satisfying hahaha," another admitted.

This 15-Year-Old Novel Is Considered the Best Science Fiction Story of the 21st Century So Far
We’re just 26 years into the 21st century, so it’s really just the baby stage, and yet, the list of best fiction from the century is being put together. The list will run from 2000 to 2099, once we get there, and that means there’s plenty of room for this list to change. For now, there is one science fiction novel that sits at the top of the list for Goodreads users.
The list is made up of votes from users, with this particular 15-year-old novel 251,954 with 2,543 votes. With a movie that’s already been made and a sequel, it’s clear that it is one to put on the list, especially if you love 1980s pop culture and technology.
‘Ready Player One’ by Ernest Cline Is the No. 1 Science Fiction BookThe list makes it clear that Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is the one to read. There are some substantial differences between book and movie, making them great companions to each other. While certain elements, such as the ending, are the same, the journey there and the level of detail added into the prose make them both worth experiencing.
Ready Player One is set in the year 2044, where technology has all but taken over. If you don’t get yourself into the virtual world, you’re nothing and you have little access to anything. However, there are still the haves and have-nots, and Wade Watts is one of the have-nots.
Wade is on a mission to work out the puzzles that sit within the OASIS, working out the way its creator’s mind works. As he works out the first clue, he’s suddenly thrust into a world of survival. He has to constantly stay one step ahead if he wants any chance to win the grand prize and change his life forever, while also protecting the nature of OASIS in the first place.
A Fun Romp Into All Things PastThis is the type of novel that works well for fans of nostalgia, especially those who love Back to the Future. It takes us into the 1980s without being set in that time period, bringing everything that was hip and cool, whether it’s TV shows and movies, music, or even the technology of the time.
At the same time, it’s a joyful and quick read. There are high stakes as the story gets into it, and sometimes, it’s hard to see how Wade can get out of the mess that he’s found himself in. With characters meeting in real life, twists to who they choose to be in the online world, and a story of acceptance and accessibility.
With the fun read, it’s not surprising to see that it sits at the top of the list of the best science fiction of the 21st century so far. That doesn’t mean it will always stay there!
Bethenny Frankel Didn’t Expect This Takeaway From Her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Moment
Once upon a time, The Golden Girls made your 50s look like wicker furniture, muumuus, and early bedtimes. Now, celebrities like Bethenny Frankel are rewriting the script—turning her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit moment into proof that confidence doesn’t come with an expiration date.
"That's what's going on," Frankel tells Parade about the tidal wave applause coming from Generation X women. "I did not know that would be what would happen from that walk, but there could be no better reaction, like no better group that it hit, so I'm thrilled."
Frankel adds that she "wanted to have fun with" her Sports Illustrated experience and was flattered to be asked. "But the meaning that it had is so much greater because of that," she says. "And it's just great."
She's also reflected on fan questions about what her 15-year-old daughter Bryn, thought of her appearing in the timeless magazine tradition. "The truth is, we didn't have to wonder because I asked her what she thought, and so it was great," she says. "I did that for myself and for women. My daughter loved it, but I don't ask my daughter for permission to be a strong ass woman, and I don't apologize to my daughter for working, and she doesn't ask me to."
But the real takeaway wasn’t the swimsuit; it was the shift in mindset. Frankel says the moment resonated because it pushed back on the idea that women have to maintain perfection 24/7. In reality, she admits she spends most of her time in pajamas, rejecting the pressure to always look “done.” The message? Confidence isn’t about constant upkeep—it’s about showing up when it counts.
“I don’t like this false pretense of people pretending that they look perfect all the time… that’s not realistic,” the 55-year-old entrepreneur explains, as she shares insights into how she’s maintained her approach to health over the years.
View this post on InstagramInstead of rigid routines, she takes a more flexible approach. “I prioritize sleep before exercise. Sleep comes first,” she says, adding that she’s a “do what you can when you can” person when it comes to fitness. When it comes to food, “I listen to my body” and “I never binge.”
That philosophy extends beyond her routine and into her latest partnership with Yasso. “It’s a nice, healthy, better for you treat," she says, adding, “You’d rather just eat the quality item and then you’re satisfied.” For April Fool’s Day, Yasso is giving away 40,001 Spoonables to fans fooled by “freezer fraud.” Enter at Yasso.com/FoolproofFreezer from March 31 to April 30.
Zendaya Shares What She’s Jealous of When It Comes to Tom Holland
Zendaya is revealing why she's a little envious of her fiancé, Tom Holland.
While shooting a promotional video for her upcoming film The Drama, Zendaya answered questions alongside her castmate Robert Pattinson, as reported by Just Jared. Zendaya was prompted to share if there's someone in her life she's "most jealous of." She responded that she would like to have Holland's gymnastic abilities.
"My own person can do backflips and s--t like that. That kind of pisses me off. Because I'm like, what do you mean that you can like, you know what I mean," said Zendaya, who is Holland's co-star in the MCU Spider-Man film franchise.
When Pattinson stated that, "It is really unfair," Zendaya replied that she has "never been able to do a backflip," but would "love to."
"I think the ship has sailed," quipped Pattinson, causing Zendaya to laugh.
Zendaya's Stylist Law Roach Said She & Tom Holland Have Gotten MarriedZendaya and Holland haven't revealed whether they've walked down the aisle. However, in a March 1 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach, stated that the pair had already wed.
"The wedding already happened. Ya'll missed it," said Roach to the publication.
Following Roach's comment, AI images that showed Holland and Zendaya getting married began circulating online. Zendaya addressed the AI images during a March 16 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, hosted byJimmy Kimmel.
"Many people have been fooled by them. While I was like just out and about in real life and people were like, 'Oh my god, your wedding photos are gorgeous!' And I was like, 'Babe, they're AI. They're not real,'" said Zendaya in the March 2026 interview.
In addition, Zendaya said "many people" from her personal life were also tricked by the AI photos. When Kimmel asked if said individuals were upset because they believed they didn't secure a wedding invite, Zendaya replied, "Yeah!"

‘Outlander’: Caitríona Balfe's ‘Hard’ Lesson About Sex Scenes Without a Coordinator
In 2014, Outlander premiered on Starz. That was long before the industry started using intimacy coordinators to choreograph the scene and advocate for actors.
Many fans hoped for more intimate scenes between Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe) after the first season. But Balfe explained why that expectation without an intimacy coordinator was hard in a new interview.

Outlander is currently airing its final season. Balfe reflected on the early seasons with Bustle.
"We were very nervous about the amount of sex scenes and I had never done anything like that…and so it was very new territory for all of us, but Ron [D. Moore] was like, ‘I really want these to be part of the storytelling,’" she said.

A sex scene furthers the plot when it's the first time between two characters. That can be the case with an established couple, but it's harder. The star said it was expected from the studio and fans. "It's not my first thing that I want to do is take my clothes off," she said.
Balfe sometimes comes across those intimate scenes and has complicated feelings about it. "I wish we'd had them," she said about intimacy coordinators. "I think we learned along the way some of the pitfalls…were all such good friends and were able to look out for each other…then later on you're just watching screenshots and memes and you're like, ‘Oh my God, my poor parents.’ And you learn the hard way, maybe, how to protect yourself a bit more."
Balfe is preparing for life after historical fantasy, which will have a different set of expectations. She will play Mrs. Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility. She'll also be in a movie about the first mountain climbers to reach the summit of Mt. Everest called Tenzing.

Iconic ’60s Rock Band Announces Exclusive Collaboration
This year, the iconic Beach Boys album Pet Sounds (1966) will be turning 60 years old, and the rock band has some major plans to celebrate the momentous milestone.
"The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day" was announced in January as a festival on May 16 that will consist of live music, a community run and pet-themed activities along Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade. On Tuesday, the band also announced the Surfrider Foundation as the event's charity partner. The organization advocates for the protection and preservation of the world's oceans and beaches through campaigning, fundraising and organizing beach cleanups.
"The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day is proud to partner with the Surfrider Foundation, and bring our shared commitment of protecting & restoring our ocean to the sun-soaked streets of Santa Monica," the band wrote on social media.
View this post on InstagramThose who have registered for "The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day" can donate to the Surfrider Foundation and enter a prize drawing in which three lucky winners will receive a YETI Roadie 15 Hard Cooler and a Surfrider x Sand Cloud Beach Blanket. The winners will be announced on the day of the event at 11 a.m., after the 5K run has been completed.
Pet Sounds is The Beach Boys' 11th studio album and remains to be one of the band's most ambitious works to date. The concept rock album was produced after the band had begun to distance itself from the surf and beach sounds it had become well-known for and was composed by frontman Brian Wilson and guest writer Tony Asher.
The album saw the creation of a couple of The Beach Boys' breakout hit singles, including "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "God Only Knows." While Pet Sounds may not have enjoyed immediate commercial success in the U.S., its influence quickly spread among musicians. Most famously, it directly inspired The Beatles, particularly Paul McCartney, in the creation of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967). Sixty years later, the album still holds up as a career-defining project for The Beach Boys.
Registration for "The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day" is already open, with tickets for participating in the community run starting at $63.24.

1970 Classic That Started a Craze Was a No. 1 Hit 56 Years Ago Today
Airport, the seminal crisis flick widely regarded as the catalyst that launched the disaster film craze, was tops at the box office on this day in 1970.
The film, which was released on March 19, reached the pinnacle position in its third week of release, returning to the top spot four more times by mid-July.
View this post on InstagramDirected by the Oscar-winning George Seaton, the action thriller was adapted for the screen by Seaton himself from the bestselling novel by Arthur Hailey. Also known for assembling the largest cast ever for a feature at the time, it stars Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, Jacqueline Bisset, George Kennedy, and first lady of the American stage Helen Hayes.
As for the plot, the narrative is composed of seven different storylines ranging from personal to professional, but all pivoting around news that there’s a bomber threatening to blow up an airliner heading from Chicago to Rome.
According to CNET, the film draws from real-life events, with Hailey borrowing details from a plane crash in 1962, when authorities investigating a Continental Airlines 707 crash in Missouri determined a passenger had purposefully set off a bomb after purchasing a large life insurance policy.
A master of avaition catastrophes, Hailey also wrote the screenplay for the 1957 thriller Zero Hour!, which sees its passengers fall ill with food poisoning and the pilot looking for an off ramp in a fit of fog. Both of Hailey’s contributions to the disaster thriller subgenre were spoofed in the ’80s by Leslie Nielsen inAirplane!
Offering a blueprint for future disaster thrillers including The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno, and Die Hard, Airport established a winning formula its successors: One star-studded ensemble cast + several interconnected plot lines + one high-stakes emergency = box office smash.
Airport, produced for around $10 million, went on to make $128 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing picture that year, according to Variety. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won one, for supporting actress, which went to Hayes.
Airport is streaming on Prime Video.

This Colorful Old-Fashioned Southern Easter Candy Is Drawing Crowds to Cracker Barrel
Something sweet is causing a stir inside Cracker Barrel stores this Easter. Shoppers aren't just coming in for biscuits and gravy. They're heading straight for the retail shelves, scanning for a pastel treat that feels like a blast from the past. Social media is buzzing. Candy dishes are getting a glow-up. And longtime fans say it tastes just like childhood.
If you grew up in the South, you might already know the candy we're talking about. If not, now's the time to pay attention.
The Easter Candy Everyone's Talking About View this post on InstagramCracker Barrel is once again selling Lammes Candies Sherbet Mints for the 2026 Easter season. These thin, pastel wafers come in soft shades of pink, yellow and green. They're light, creamy and known for their melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Lammes Candies Sherbet Mints have been made in Austin, Texas, since 1885. The family-owned candy company has been around for five generations. While Lammes is also famous for pralines, these mints became a Southern Easter staple over the years. Many families remember seeing them in candy dishes at church, at Grandma's house or on the holiday table next to the ham.
Each mint is hand-poured in small batches, which means no two look exactly the same. That homemade feel is part of the charm. They have a soft mint flavor with a subtle creamy sweetness that dissolves quickly as you eat them.
Cracker Barrel has partnered with Lammes Candies since 2007 to bring the sherbet mints to stores nationwide during Easter and Christmas. For many shoppers outside of Texas, Cracker Barrel is the easiest place to find them.

Why Cracker Barrel Shoppers Are Snapping Them UpRecently, a Cracker Barrel Instagram Reel featuring a store associate talking about the mints went viral. The video racked up hundreds of thousands of views and sparked a wave of excitement. Shoppers began calling stores to ask whether Lammes Candies Sherbet Mints were in stock. Some even made special trips just to grab a few boxes.
Part of the appeal is pure nostalgia. Cracker Barrel is already known for stocking old-fashioned candy. Finding Lammes Candies Sherbet Mints on the shelf feels like discovering a hidden treasure from another time.
They also look beautiful on an Easter dessert table. The soft pastel colors make them perfect for spring gatherings, baby showers and brunches. And because they're only available for a limited time, they tend to sell out quickly.
If you're hoping to grab a box of Lammes Candies Sherbet Mints at Cracker Barrel this Easter, call your local store ahead of time to make sure they have some in stock. With crowds forming and social media keeping the buzz alive, this old-fashioned Southern candy is clearly having a moment.

KLIMON Wins 2026 FABI Favorite Award for Innovative Dairy-Free Ice Cream Sandwich
While most people say it's never worth messing with perfection, numerous well-known dessert brands are coming out with new and exciting spins on classic sweet treats on an almost daily basis.
Case in point with KLIMON's increasingly innovative product lineup, which includes a highly imaginative (and altogether tasty) twist on traditional ice cream sandwiches.
Since its launch in summer 2022, KLIMON has become one of the most talked-about dessert brands to make its way in major grocery chains' freezer section. In contrast to most dairy companies, KLIMON specifically delivers plant-based, dairy-free frozen desserts, giving the brand its distinct name ("no milk" spelled in reverse).
While some skeptical shoppers might raise an eyebrow at the prospect of a dairy-free ice cream sandwich, the company has just won a notably impressive distinction within the larger culinary field, as reported by a recent press release from the company.
As the release mentions, KLIMON has formally won the 2026 FABI Favorite Award for Innovative Dairy-Free Ice Cream Sandwich. The award has specifically been given to the brand's beloved Churro Chata Dairy-Free Ice Cream Sandwich, a rich and creamy dessert inspired by cinnamon-dusted churros and nutty horchata.
"The Food and Beverage Awards highlight the creativity and product innovation that continues to drive the foodservice industry forward," said Tom Cindric, president of the exhibitions for Informa Connect Foodservice Group. "The FABI Favorites offer an extra spotlight to the most outstanding products that truly exemplify the future of food and beverage."
"We're watching a fundamental shift in food culture," said Alex Cotraviwat, Founder and CEO of Klimon. "Desserts and beverages are no longer the add-on. They're becoming the reason people show up. The new expectation is indulgence without compromise. Cleaner ingredients, dairy-free options, and a premium experience that actually delivers."
Right now, consumers can find KLIMON's ice cream products at most nationwide retailers, including Lowes Foods, Kroger, Gelson's and Harris Teeter, among other stores.
The Absolute Best Way to Make Tender, Juicy Brisket, According to Chef Andrew Zimmern (And His Grandmother)
Andrew Zimmern’s original go-to brisket recipe dates back to his grandmother. The classic braised brisket with fennel and onions recipe has been a staple in the celeb chef’s holiday celebrations for generations. As happens with many family recipes, Zimmern has added his tweaks over the years and makes the recipe “slightly different these days,” though much of the technique stays the same.
“[Brisket is] extremely difficult to cook. But if you follow a couple of easy principles, it's not that hard,” Zimmern tells Parade. Over the years, Zimmern has made many a brisket, including for holidays, parties, TV shows and more. And that's not where his love of brisket ends. He even created "Brisket Week," where he shared what to do with all the tender, juicy leftovers. With all of this knowledge, we knew Zimmern was the perfect person to show us how to make the best brisket.

How to Shop for BrisketWhen you go to the store, you might have a few brisket options: the point (sometimes called the crown), the flat and whole brisket. The point is the thicker, fattier portion and the flat is well, flatter and more even, typically about three or four inches thick versus the seven- or eight-inch point.
Although the flat and the point cook at different speeds, Zimmern still likes to cook a whole brisket. If all you can find is a flat, that will work, too, but Zimmern prefers a whole brisket because it adds a little extra insurance because of the fattier point. The flat is "very lean, and you end up with very little leeway on nailing it just right,” Zimmern says.

What Size Brisket Do I Need? When you’re at the grocery store, try to avoid giant briskets (like 15 pounds) because they are difficult to cook evenly. If you have a big crowd to feed, Zimmern recommends opting for two smaller briskets—but this guide will focus on a single 6- to 9-pound untrimmed brisket.
Madeline Hill
How to Cook BrisketNow that you know exactly how to choose the right brisket, it’s time to get cooking. Here are Zimmern's top tips.
1. Let It Come to Room TemperatureLike most meats, it’s best to temper it first (meaning, take the meat out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature). According to Zimmern, this process will take about 90 minutes. This step will help make sure that the meat cooks evenly. “If you put a cold brisket in the oven and seal it and then start the braising process, it's like putting an ice cube wrapped in a blanket in the oven. It's just going to take longer to get tender,“ Zimmern says. While you're waiting for the meat to temper, preheat your oven to 275° or 300°. Zimmern prefers the former for a low and slow cook, but if you need to speed things up a bit, 300° works too.

2. Don’t Trim Off the FatOne of Zimmern’s biggest chef takeaways is not to trim the fat off ahead of time. The fat is full of flavor, which has “too much value” to slice off before cooking. Once tempered, take your brisket out and feel the top of it for “big chunks of extraneous fat,” then slice those chunks off with a small sharp knife. Zimmern advises leaving the rest of the fat on the meat because it will melt into the brisket as it cooks. If there's any fat left after cooking, Zimmern also has a plan. “When I'm slicing my brisket to serve hours later, that's when I can trim that fat off. It's already done its job,” he says.
3. Always, Always, Always Pre-SeasonZimmern changes up his brisket methods about every ten years, but right now he's in his herbes de Provence era. There's a range of ingredients included in this French spice blend, but it often includes dried rosemary, tarragon, marjoram and thyme. If you don't have herbes de Provence, Zimmern suggests using a mix of dried thyme and rosemary. And no matter what spice blend you use, be sure to season the brisket generously with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper.
4. Sear and DeglazeAfter seasoning, Zimmern gives the brisket a good sear. He heats some high-temperature oil (like grapeseed) in a roasting pan set across two burners. When the oil shimmers, he adds the brisket and cooks it until it's browned, then flips it and sears the second side. After the meat is seared, Zimmern moves the brisket to a platter. While the brisket rests, he sautées vegetables (whichever type you prefer, depending on which recipe you’re following) in the roasting pan with tomato paste and a bouquet garni (a bundle of herbs tied with kitchen twine). Carrots, brussels sprouts, onions and fennel are all great veggies to consider cooking alongside your brisket.
Next up? A bottle of red wine for deglazing the pan. The wine will pick up all the browned bits in the roasting pan from the brisket and the veggies, which will add flavor to the dish. Zimmern likes to use red wine because it adds richness to the brisket and also helps tenderize the meat. “When [the wine] starts simmering, I push my vegetables to the side, and I put my brisket in, and then I cover the pan with foil, and I put it in a 275° oven,” he says.
5. Let It RestOnce the brisket is finished cooking, it's time for a rest. Zimmern’s rule of thumb is to let the brisket rest for one hour, minimum. If you have a little more time or are taking the brisket to a dinner party, you can cook it the day before, a method Zimmern likes a lot because the meat cools in the liquid and rests in the fridge, which allows all the flavors to meld and mingle.

How Long Should You Cook Brisket?Zimmern often avoids this question because the answer really depends on your brisket. Some briskets are short and stout, taking seven to eight hours, while others are long and thin, and cook in five to six hours. To make sure you get it right, Zimmern recommends letting your brisket cook for five hours, and then checking it each hour after that for tenderness. He starts to really pay attention when an internal thermometer reads 165° when inserted into the thickest part of the brisket. For a braised brisket (vs a smoked brisket) you're looking for a final temperature of 180°.
Having trouble figuring out exactly how to get the temperature of the meat? Zimmern can help. “The best thing to do is to pick a spot about two inches up from the end of the flat. Go about two, three inches in,” he says. Then, grab a cooking fork (the kind with the two long tines) or a pair of sturdy tongs and turn the brisket four times. If you’re able to turn it and the meat is tender, then your brisket is ready to be taken out of the oven.
A 9- to 10-pound brisket will usually take 6 hours at 300°. And just because the brisket is braising in wine, know that it's still possible to overcook it. “After a while, the absorption of liquid has tapped out. The fat is gone from the meat itself, and then every minute afterward that you're cooking it, it's getting drier and drier, even though it's sitting in liquid,” he says.

The Best Way to Serve BrisketTo slice your finished brisket, separate the two main parts. The flat and point have protein strands at different angles and you want to cut the meat across the grain for the most tender slices.
Sprinkle the brisket with salt and pepper once again (but don’t overdo it or it will suck out the moisture). You can even place pepper grinders on the table so guests can season to taste. To plate, arrange the sliced brisket on a platter, and place the vegetables around the meat. You can make a simple pan gravy with the liquid in the roasting pan and pour that on top of the brisket.

If you’re using the overnight method, Zimmern says, “One of the benefits of refrigerating it was that I could take away all the fat. All the fat rose to the top, I was able to take it off with a spoon in my hands.” To serve the next day, he takes the cold brisket out of the liquid, wraps it well, puts it in the oven and reduces the liquid to make a tasty sauce. Throw in a few tablespoons of red wine vinegar (note: a very small amount) to add a little tartness to the sauce to offset the sweeter vegetables. You then reheat the brisket at 225° for 90 minutes.

Best Sides to Serve With BrisketWhat should you serve with your perfectly made brisket? Zimmern loves crispy potatoes of some sort, especially potato pancakes. Green vegetables or a winter salad with a citrus vinaigrette are also some complementary go-tos. Get started with these great recipe ideas.

Is ‘High Potential’ New Tonight (March 31, 2026)? Everything to Know
We are just a week away from High Potential's highly-anticipated season finale, which fans are hoping will reveal the answers to some major plot points that have been brewing since the ABC crime drama's very first season. But is High Potential new tonight, March 31? Because there's a lot to dig into before we have a break from the series until the 2026 fall TV season. Like, seriously, what's the deal with the Roman situation?
Let's dig into whether or not we can expect newness tonight from our friends over at L.A.'s robbery and homicide division, shall we?
Is there a new episode of ‘High Potential’ tonight?Mercifully the answer to that question is a resounding yes. High Potential is indeed new on Tuesday, March 31, and it's looking pretty intense, if we're being honest.
@highpotentialabcThe stakes couldn't be higher on Tuesday's new episode of HighPotential. 😳 Don't miss it at 9/8c on ABC and stream on Hulu.
♬ original sound - High PotentialAs if last week's explosive episode that landed Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) in the hospital wasn't aggressive enough, this week depicts something even more sinister. Our favorite detective squad launches an investigation to find the culprits behind a series of heists involving private vaults or, as Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) puts it, "Storage closets for rich hoarders."
As it turns out, this is looking like way more than a string of high-profile robberies but, rather, could be leading to a cyber attack on the entire city. As Morgan explains in the trailer for the episode, titled "Second Sunday," "The power grid could be shut down, the water could be poisoned, or air traffic could be scrambled."
Needless to say, all of those options sound positively terrifying. And from the snippet above we can see that there's more explosions and a bunch of guys in pretty sinister-looking masks.

What time does 'High Potential' air?You can watch the latest episode of High Potential on Tuesdays at 9/8c.
Where can I watch ‘High Potential’?The first run of new episodes airs on ABC, but you can also stream it on Hulu the very next day.
What other storylines are currently in the works on 'High Potential'?Well, for starters, we now know that Willa Quinn (played by the incomparable Jennifer Jason Leigh) is in cahoots with Captain Wagner's (Steve Howey) dad, a nefarious politician. And they both know way more about Roman's disappearance then they want anyone to learn.
There's also the still fairly new on-again relationship between Karadec and Lucia (Susan Kelechi Watson) to keep an eye on.

This State Was Just Named the Worst Place to Retire in the U.S.
When my parents first started working on their retirement plans more than a decade ago, they considered relocating to several different nearby states. And while one state kept popping up on their radar thanks to access to everything from beaches to mountains, the lack of long-term affordability kept them from pulling the proverbial trigger.
Now, that state has just been named the worst place to retire in a report from Seniorly, and I'm kind of glad that my mom and dad passed it up all those years ago.
New Jersey Named Worst State for RetireesIn 2025, Seniorlycompiled data on all 50 states, looking at things like cost of living, access to healthcare, and overall recreational opportunities to come up with the best and worst places to retire. After reviewing all of the data, the company named New Jersey as the worst state to retire, calling it "one of the leas affordable states in the country." The report says that the tax rate is 10.75 percent for top earners. And while it's hard to imagine that retirees can be "top earners" these days, those with substantial retirement savings and investments could qualify.
Not only that, but Seniorly also noted a few other factors at play, stating that overall, the state has poor access to arts and recreation opportunity for seniors who are likely looking to stay active by filling their day with engaging and community driven activities. The report also determined that New Jersey has a very unhealthy senior population, stating that 65 percent of the seniors living in the state have more than three chronic conditions.
This hints at two different issues for those ages 65 an up, which include having to compete for healthcare options since so many seniors in the state will need specialists, as well as the potential for the environment itself to play a factor in your health as you age.
Several Other States Received Bottom Ratings for RetireesIn addition to New Jersey, Seniorly also called out several other states in its report, explaining that they also failed to meet some of the metrics that would matter most to seniors. The list includes:
- Alabama
- Kansa
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
Related: 10 Roadside Attractions That Are Still Worth Pulling Over For
While these states can be considered more affordable than others, it sounds like its the overall health of senior populations in these other states that landed them on the list, as well as below-average spending on long-term care, which likely means that the facilities that these seniors may need to call home once they can no longer live on their own may not be as nice or as updated as those in other states where the spending on long-term care facilities is higher.
Of course, all that being said, many people can make the most of any situation. And there are likely plenty of people who dream of retiring in New Jersey, especially if they are lucky enough to snag a place close to any of the state's beautiful shore points, which should find more than enough opportunities for excursive and outdoor recreation.
Kylie Kelce Surprises Fans With Unexpected Family Addition After Viral Tease
Kylie Kelce and her husband, retired NFL star Jason Kelce, have just expanded their family by one more. The podcast host and mom of four daughters took to social media to share the news.
On March 31, the host of the "Not Gonna Lie" podcast shared a new video on the show's Instagram page. The caption read, "Meet Kylie's new puppy!"
In an additional comment, Kelce added, "Meow?" That part made sense to everybody after watching the video.
The video showed Kelce standing outdoors, holding two puppies in her arms. She said, "So, as you can see, there is no snow on the ground, and, I'm holding two puppies."
"Something happened," she added.
View this post on InstagramKelce then shared, "May I introduce Bernadette Kelce." She teasingly tried to put a cat-ear headband over the puppy's head and exclaimed, "It's the cat I'm adopting. Meow?"
"You caught me. It's not a cat. It's a German shepherd puppy. I can't help myself," Kelce admitted.
She sheepishly added, "Someone let me loose in a rescue and this is what happened. I can't..."
Kelce then snuggled the puppy and said, "Welcome to the family, Bernadette. Until Jason changes her name."
Additional context regarding the newest Kelce family member was added in a new episode of "Not Gonna Lie." The new podcast episode was posted a few hours before the revealing Instagram post went live.
She explained as the podcast episode began that her husband had been "leaning more, I think, towards barn cats" in terms of adding another member to the family. Kelce then asked the ladies at the rescue she was talking with what they see as the biggest thing that holds people back from adopting, "if not their husband."
The episode was initially filmed about six weeks ago, when there was snow on the ground. Kelce visited the Pennsylvania SPCA Main Line Animal Rescue to showcase their work, but "then something special happened."
As a result of that something special, "We had to film an entirely new ending. That's called a tease," Kelce shared.
Kelce then joked that this was "the cuddliest, fuzziest, furriest, probably most personally reckless episode of FAFO. And that's saying something."
The reckless reference was because Kelce was specifically visiting adoptable animals at the rescue. "I know I'm putting myself in a very bad predicament here," she admitted, suggesting it might be impossible for her to leave without a new family member.
"Some of you might know that between my husband and I, we have an ongoing cat saga. Jason does know that I'm here today. We did discuss whether or not he would be peeved if I came home with an animal," she explained.
Apparently, the NFL alum told his wife that on a scale of 1 to 10 of how mad he'd be, he would be a 10. That may have slowed the podcaster down a bit, but it didn't stop her. Kelce admitted, "To my credit, he did not distinguish which side of the scale was p*ssed."
As soon as Kelce sat down with the first group of puppies, she started falling in love. However, Bernadette did not come from that first group.
When Kelce was filming the first part of the episode, she learned about puppies that were at another location of the rescue. She loves German shepherds, so she couldn't resist.
Several weeks later, as she met the puppies, she noted that her husband agreed to this, "If I gave him naming rights." Going into meeting the puppies, the name Bernadette was already a leading contender. Soon, Kelce met "the one."
While Kelce did meet a lot of cats, and the family has talked about adopting a cat, she declared, "We're not ready for that."
The decision was made, the puppy was picked, and the Kelce family has grown by one more.

New Study Claims That Traveling Regularly Can Actually Help You Live Longer
Far from being just a break from routine, travel may actually help protect your heart, reduce stress, and contribute to a longer life. Imagine that: something as simple and joyful as exploring new places could have measurable benefits for your health. That’s the takeaway from recent research on travel’s effects on the body and mind, and it’s something any traveler can embrace without major lifestyle changes.
According to research out of Texas A&M University, traveling isn’t just good for the soul it might also be good for your physical health. The study found that people who travel tend to experience reduced life stress, stronger relationships, and even better heart health compared with those who do not travel. Traveling also increases productivity and promotes learning, both of which can contribute to long‑term wellbeing.
As someone who has always felt refreshed and energized after a few days on the road, this research aligns with my own experience. There’s something about stepping out of the everyday that seems to reset more than just your mood and it refocuses your perspective.
Adventure starts with a click—sign up for our newsletter for travel tips and stories.
The Science Behind Why Travel Can Benefit Heart HealthYou may not think of travel as exercise, but it often involves movement, including walking new cities, hiking trails, swimming on beaches, or even navigating airports and train stations. These activities elevate your heart rate and keep your cardiovascular system engaged. Regular physical activity, even in small doses, is a well‑established contributor to longevity. Research published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology suggests that small changes such as walking a bit more or sleeping a bit longer are linked with significantly lower risk of heart attack and stroke.
“Traveling for pleasure can contribute to subjective well‑being because people have more opportunities to detach from their work environment, to experience new things, and to control what they want to do during vacations.” says Paul Simeone, Ph.D., Vice President and Medical Director of Behavioral Health at Lee Health.
This helps explain why travel, which naturally encourages movement and exploration, could contribute to better cardiovascular health. Beyond sheer physical activity, travel also reduces stress, which is closely tied to heart health. Chronic stress raises levels of cortisol and can worsen blood pressure, while stress reduction supports better cardiac outcomes. Studies of vacations and breaks from work have repeatedly shown improvements in mood, lower levels of stress hormones, and better heart health markers.
How Stress Reduction on Trips Contributes to LongevityStress, as many of us know too well, is more than a mood. It affects hormones, sleep cycles, blood pressure, digestion, and the immune system. When stress becomes chronic, it increases the risk of heart disease, depression, and a host of other conditions that shorten lifespan.
Travel provides a built‑in interruption to your usual stressors. A change of scenery disrupts the patterns that keep your mind on autopilot. According to behavioral research, stepping into new environments enhances mood and reduces perceptions of stress by engaging the brain’s reward and novelty systems, releasing dopamine and serotonin, which promote wellbeing.
But the benefits go deeper than the days you’re away. When you return from a trip with reduced stress and restored perspective, you’re often better equipped to handle daily pressures with resilience. That long‑term reduction in stress response may be precisely the mechanism that helps travel have a lasting impact on health.
Travel Tips for Health‑Minded ExplorersIf your goal is not just to check destinations off a list but to genuinely improve your wellbeing while you travel, here are some practical strategies that blend exploration and health:
1. Move with intention: Whether it’s walking cobblestone lanes or hiking by the sea, aim to be physically active every day. Even gentle movement helps.
2. Prioritize rest: It sounds counterintuitive when you’re on vacation, but good sleep is critical. Rest allows your body to recover and supports heart and mental health. According to broader health research, even small increases in nightly rest are linked to lower risk of heart problems.
3. Engage the moment: Try to be present. Notice sights, sounds, smells, and conversations. Engaging fully with your surroundings reduces stress more than passive observation, like scrolling on a phone.
4. Travel with others: Social connection is another key piece of stress reduction. Shared moments with friends or family can reinforce support networks, another known factor in longevity.

Why This Matters for TravelersFor many people, travel has always been about experiencing worlds beyond their own and creating memories that outlive the journey. Now we can add that travel may genuinely contribute to your health in tangible ways.
In a world that often feels fast and demanding, taking time to explore is a real investment in your body and mind. Whether it’s a weekend getaway to a nearby town or a two‑week adventure abroad, stepping away from routine and into exploration may help your heart, lower stress, and even add years to your life.

Joseph Duggar Released From Jail After Posting $600K Bond as He Awaits Trial
Former 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On star Joseph Duggar was just released from jail after posting a $600,000 bond as he awaits trial for child molestation charges.
On Tuesday, March 31, Duggar, 31, was released from custody in Florida after his first court appearance in the state following his extradition from Arkansas.
Earlier in the morning, Duggar attended a Fourteenth Circuit court appearance via Zoom from the Bay County Jail. Judge Tracy Smith set bonds for Duggar totalling $600,000—$100,000 for the lewd and lascivious behavior by a person 18 years or older charge, $500,000 for the lewd and lascivious behavior—molestation of a victim less than 12 years old charge. She also ordered that he has no contact with the alleged victim and no unsupervised contact with any minors under 18.
On Sunday, March 29, Duggar entered a written plea of not guilty and requested a jury trial. His next court date is set for April 20 at 9 a.m. CT.

The release of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's seventh-born child from custody came after the Bay County Sheriff's Office arrested Joseph on March 18 over alleged incidents involving a 9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Florida.
“The victim reported Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap. As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket,” a news release from the BCSO detailed. “During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs. The victim stated Duggar eventually apologized for his actions and the incidents stopped after the apology.”
Meanwhile, Joseph also faces four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment in Arkansas. His wife, Kendra Duggar, 27, was arrested and faces the same charges, according to a news release from the Tontitown Police Department.
“Kendra’s arrest has nothing to do with Joseph’s—although one precipitated another," a source with knowledge of the case told Us Weekly. After his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there. They came to her house.”
The source continued, “Apparently, they had two rooms where the lock of the doorknob was on the outside instead of inside. They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids.”
If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual assault, help is available 24 hours a day through RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673.
