Vera Wang Shares 'Graceful and Beautiful' Skating Video In Nostalgic Olympic Post

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:35am

Vera Wang may be known for designing gorgeous gowns, however as a former figure skater the designer is in her feelings as olympians prepare to take the ice this week.

The fashion designer, 76, who notably designed outfits for famed skaters including Michelle Kwan and Nancy Kerrigan, took to Instagram showing off her own skills on the ice from almost a decade ago.

"Shot in 2017…. do the math!!!!!" she wrote. "But these GAMES made me so nostalgic. I never made it to the Olympics, but gratefully my clothes did ! THANK YOU ALL who trusted me! ONCE A SKATER….. ALWAYS….. no matter! PRAYERS FOR OUR LADIES TONIGHT!🙏. GO TEAM USA"

And course, fans, impressed with her moves, took to the post's comments praising her skills.

"I love it! You’re so graceful and beautiful!!" one wrote.

"So graceful so stunning," another said.

"Simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing this. Gorgeous lighting too" said a third.

Wang also commented on the video herself, saying that skating was her first love.

The fashion designer has not only been in Milan for this year's games, but she's been sharing snaps reflecting on when her designs were worn on the ice, a job she's been done for 20 years, according to People.

“It’s not for the faint of heart,” Wang told the magazine ahead of 2018's Pyeongchang Games where she designed the costume for skater Nathan Chen. “If one strap were to break, or if the beading on the sleeve gets caught when they turn, their whole Olympics is over. That is how serious it is. It’s absolutely nightmarish!”

As for understanding what the athletes endure, she also shared that she's aware of their athleticism thanks to her own experience.

“I understand the physics,” she added. “I think people are fooled by the nature of the costumes and the ease and the musicality and the choreography. It is an extreme sport.”

Wang has also been joined by her daughter, Jojo, for the 2026 games. The designer has shared posts of the two watching skating events as well as shopping while in Milan.

Per the Olympic schedule, Women's figure skating will be happening on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:31am

If you’re a fan of Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie Xo, you already know how candid the couple can be about their marriage. Recently, Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alyssa DeFord, opened up about the pair’s sex life before Jelly Roll’s staggering weight loss

“We always had a sex life, but there were mountains and valleys that we had to go through — especially when he was so big,” Bunnie, 46, told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview promoting her memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic.

“Even when he was 500 pounds, this dude was an agile, big guy. I’m like, ‘You are athletic under that meat suit.’ Now that he has the weight off of him, he just gets to be who I always knew that he was, and I think it’s brought a new sense of happiness to him,” Bunnie added. “Any time he’s happy, I’m happy.”

Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic was released on Tuesday, February 17.

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has lost nearly 300 pounds since he began his health and fitness journey in 2022. The “Somebody Save Me” singer, 41, has maintained that he’s lost the weight naturally, with little to no assistance from GLP-1 medications.

Though Jelly Roll did try a GLP-1 for two weeks, he quickly stopped taking it, according to Men’s Health. So, how did he do it?

“Even before I got into getting my blood work done, I went and got mental health therapy about my overeating. I started treating my food addiction like what it was: an addiction. Why did I treat cocaine a certain way? I went to meetings for cocaine and found a sponsor and detoxed off of it and s–t myself and went through real hard life-changing emotional choices to get off cocaine and codeine,” he told the publication in a January interview.

“I didn’t look at the food addiction different,” Jelly Roll said. “Once I started treating food like an addiction, it started changing everything for me. When I started really looking at the source of why I was eating. What was I eating for?”

Burger King’s President Is Giving Customers His Phone Number

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:23am

Burger King is taking customer feedback to an unusually personal level.

Beginning today, guests can call or text Burger King President Tom Curtis directly to share their experiences with the brand. The company says every message will be reviewed, and Curtis plans to return as many calls as possible.

While companies often encourage feedback through surveys and apps, offering direct access to a top executive is far less common. The move gives customers a more immediate voice while providing leadership with unfiltered insight into what guests are experiencing in restaurants.

“As the home of ‘Have It Your Way,’ guests are our most important advisors,” Curtis said in the announcement. “There’s nothing like hearing from guests firsthand.”

Burger King says the initiative builds on years of guest-driven changes across the business. Customer feedback has helped shape restaurant modernizations, operational improvements, and menu innovations to enhance speed, consistency, and the overall experience.

The brand has also experimented with interactive campaigns that invite customer participation. The Million Dollar Whopper contest encouraged fans to submit their dream sandwich ideas, while the “Whopper by You” platform has brought guest-inspired creations to restaurants nationwide.

By opening a direct line of communication, Burger King is leaning into a broader shift across the restaurant industry, where customer experience and transparency have become central to brand loyalty. In an era when reviews and social media can instantly shape public perception, direct dialogue gives companies a chance to better understand what matters most to guests.

The company indicated that this effort is not a one-time initiative. Later this year, additional members of the Burger King team, franchisees, and restaurant staff are expected to engage directly with guests to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.

How Customers Can Contact Burger King’s President

Customers who wish to participate can call or text Burger King U.S. & Canada President Tom Curtis at (305) 874-0520 to share their thoughts and ideas. Messages will be reviewed as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to evaluate feedback and inform future decisions.

For guests who have ever wished a company executive could hear their concerns firsthand, whether about order accuracy, speed of service, or menu favorites, Burger King is now offering exactly that opportunity.

Wendy Williams Is Emotional in Rare Public Appearance for Father's Funeral

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:15am

Former TV host Wendy Williams has been living a life mostly out of the spotlight these days, but she just made a rare public appearance for a personal matter, attending the funeral of her father, Thomas, on Monday, Feb. 16.

According to TMZ, which reported the news alongside photos of Williams at the funeral, the event took place near Miami, Fla., and other people in attendance included Wendy's niece, Alex Finnie, who originally shared the news of Thomas' death on social media with an emotional tribute, and her boyfriend, Eric Houston.

Williams attended the funeral in an all-black outfit consisting of a t-shirt dress, boots, a black purse, sunglasses, and some jewelry. In various photos, Williams appeared to be visibly emotional as she walked up to a building where the service was likely taking place alongside her loved ones.

This is a rare public appearance for Williams as she continues her battle to end her conservatorship, and the 61-year-old has not shared any public comments about her father's death. Thomas died only days before his 95th birthday.

Finnie shared the sad news on Feb. 8 with a sweet montage of memories with Thomas, writing about him, "My grandfather was truly a man of great intellect — an author, educator and keeper of historical facts. Papa poured into both family and community. I miss him tremendously."

A few days ago, Finnie shared another special memory related to her grandfather, writing alongside a clip from her work as a newscaster, "Sharing a story I did a few weeks ago on my grandfather and his experience walking alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the March on Washington."

"Telling this story reminded me how important it is to preserve our loved ones’ memories. These moments become a time capsule — a way to carry legacy forward and pass truth, history, and love to the next generations," she added.

Fans and friends shared support for Finnie and her family as they mourned the deep loss.

‘Back to the Future’ Legend Christopher Lloyd, 87, and Wife, 55, Snuggle Up: ‘The Sweetest Love’

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:10am

Christopher Lloyd and his wife have been married for almost a decade, and they took to Instagram to celebrate Valentine's Day.

The legendary actor, 87, known for roles in Back to the Future, ClueWho Framed Roger RabbitAngels in the Outfield, and endless other films, took to Instagram to celebrate the holiday of love with his wife of almost 10 years, Lisa Loiacono, 55.

With his arms wrapped around Loiacono's waist, Lloyd leaned his head against hers as they stood on a rooftop overlooking Los Angeles. Smiling for the camera, the couple appeared happy and in love.

"It’s the sweetest love. My Valentine❤️," Lloyd captioned the photo.

Loiacono was Lloyd's Real Estate Agent

The story of how the couple met is an interesting one. Back in 2012, Lloyd listed his Montecito home for a whopping $6.45 million, and Loiacono was mentioned by the Los Angeles Times as the listing agent on the property. The piece stated that the actor built the Umbria-inspired country home after the previous house he had on the site was destroyed in a 2008 wildfire.

While Loicano is the fifth wife for Lloyd, the actor made it clear that she's absolutely the one.

"Five is the last,” Lloyd shared in a 2021 interview with The Guardian.

“Number five is sitting right here!” Loiacono added.

Lloyd Reunited With His Taxi Costar Carol Kane

One of Lloyd's most famous television roles is that of Reverend Jim Ignatowski on Taxi, the '70s TV series that followed the ups and downs of taxi drivers in New York City. Known for his denim getup and spaced-out behavior, Jim served as a staple member of the cast alongside Tony Danza, Marilu Henner, Danny DeVito, and Carol Kane, who joined the show in its later years as Simka Dahblitz-Gravas, the wife of Andy Kaufman's memorable character Latka Gravas. Back in December, Lloyd got the opportunity to reunite with Kane on an episode of NBC's Happy Place.

1978 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 47 Years Ago Today

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:07am

The American rock band Blondie's most successful album to date, Parallel Lines (1978), topped the U.K. Albums Chart on Feb. 17, 1979 — 47 years ago exactly.

Parallel Lines was the band's third studio album together, produced during the summer of 1978 alongside Australian producer Mike Chapman, who is also behind other breakthrough works for artists like The Knack and Suzi Quatro. Lead singer Debbie Harry was reportedly skeptical about the collaboration at first, and wasn't confident that Chapman's production style would align with Blondie's sound at the time, which combined new wave and punk elements.

But after Chapman played early demos of "Heart of Glass" and "Sunday Girl" for Harry, she felt more reassured about the collaboration. "Heart of Glass" would end up becoming a worldwide hit, reaching No. 1 on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. Singles Chart.

View this post on Instagram

"The Blondies were tough in the studio, real tough," Chapman once said in an interview. "None of them liked each other, except Chris [Stein] and Debbie, and there was so much animosity. They were really, really juvenile in their approach to life — a classic New York underground rock band — and they didn't give a f--k about anything. They just wanted to have fun and didn't want to work too hard getting it."

After recording the entire album in just six weeks, Parallel Lines was released on Sept. 8, 1978, immediately entering the Billboard 200 album chart. The album was the U.K.'s best-selling album of the year and continues to hold the reputation of being Blondie's magnum opus.

At the time of the album's production and release, Blondie was facing growing pains as a band at this point in their career. "There was a certain amount of competition within the band by now, never mind outside it. Who was writing what songs, et cetera," Harry said in a 2011 interview with Classic Rock. "I’m not gonna point fingers at anybody, because at the same time, strangely, we all really stood up for another too. I guess we were sorta like brothers and sisters: there were healthy rivalries in a way. I wasn’t going to be anybody’s victim, and I wanted to do what I did on my terms. I was a stubborn, strong woman, but as vulnerable a human being as anyone else."

Parallel Lines maintains a legacy as one of the most defining albums in rock history. Rolling Stone named it one of the best 500 albums of all time in 2003, crediting it for helping new wave and punk music find a breakthrough among American audiences. "Parallel Lines is a perfect synthesis of raw punk edge, Sixties-pop smarts and the cool New Wave glamour Blondie invented," the magazine wrote. "Deborah Harry, of course, invented a new kind of rock & roll sex appeal that brought New York demimonde style to the mainstream. Madonna was surely watching."

Jane Seymour, 75, Credits This Simple Diet for Her Ageless Glow

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 11:04am

Legendary actress Jane Seymour marked a major milestone on February 15, celebrating her 75th birthday.

To mark the milestone year, Seymour spoke with the Daily Mail, where she opened up about her approach to staying fit, eating well, and maintaining a size 4 for decades.

"I love the Mediterranean way of eating, it works so well, and it tastes good, it includes a lot of delicious food like tomatoes, olives and fish," she shared.

The Live and Let Die star detailed her eating routine, which consisted of breakfast and one big meal a day. Starting "the day with coffee and hard-boiled eggs for protein, and it isn't till later, around lunchtime, that I have a full meal because then I can really enjoy it," she told the outlet.

When it comes to snacking, Seymour also likes to keep it clean, sharing that she prefers vegetables and nuts. "I do love nuts. I am a savory person, I like the salt."

While the Mediterranean diet is widely praised for its health benefits, Seymour told Daily Mail that she doesn't think of it as a "diet" in the traditional sense. Instead, she focuses on eating "healthy foods you really love that make you feel good, you never feel shorted."

And when it comes to staying active, Seymour adds that her favorite form of exercise is Pilates.

In an interview with People to mark her milestone birthday, Seymour revealed that she is a "big believer in exfoliating and protecting my skin." The actress shared that she uses the Crépe Erase by Body Firm brand, a product the actress swears by, with Seymour also being a long-time face of the brand. This isn't the first time these two powerhouses have shared a stage. The Doobie Brothers opened for Santana, led by guitarist Carlos Santana, on the 2019 Supernatural Now Tour, a 29-date run celebrating 50 years since Santana's iconic Woodstock performance. "The tour with Santana is a great match,” Doobie Brothers founding member Tom Johnston told Ultimate Classic Rock at the time. “We've known Carlos for many years and we both came out of the Bay Area when we started."

Seven years later, they're back with more to celebrate than ever. Santana, a 10-time Grammy winner who just received a 2026 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, told USA Today the tour will be "a glorious experience of sharing light, love and music at the highest vibration." The Doobie Brothers, meanwhile, are riding the momentum of Walk This Road, their first studio album featuring Michael McDonald since 1980.

Citi presales started today, with general tickets going on sale Friday, February 20 at 10 a.m. local time at Santana.com

“Oh no! I’m so sorry! Too much loss! I love you,” one fan wrote.

Another shared, “I’m so very sorry to read this, she was a beautiful little girl. I’m happy I was able to play with her for a little while some years ago. 💔.”

Several commenters echoed Betty’s sentiment that Clementine was now reunited with the Mavericks frontman.

“Oh, no! I’m so very sorry! Back in Raul’s arms! ❤️😢🙏🏻🐶💔,” one wrote.

“My deepest condolences on the passing of your sweet Clementine. She’s traveling with her Daddy again. Blessings and love for you all,” another added.

One longtime fan remembered seeing the dog onstage with Malo during a solo performance. “She was the softest, sweetest pup. Just this week, I posted photos from when Raul brought her up on the stage with him at a New Hope Winery solo show. I’m so, so sad to read this… She and Raul together again🥹no question about it. My heart goes out to you Dino, Victor and Max. 💔.”

Raul Malo, the Grammy-winning frontman of The Mavericks, died on Dec. 8 after a long battle with cancer. In the weeks since, Betty has shared glimpses of grief, remembrance, and the quiet ways his presence still echoes through their home.

Now, as she says goodbye to Clementine, fans continue to surround the family with prayers, love, and gratitude for the music and memories that Raul left behind.

Iconic ’80s Heavy Rock Band Announces New Residency as Part of 60th Anniversary Tour

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 10:38am

The Scorpions are officially coming home—to Las Vegas, that is.

The iconic German rock band delighted fans on Tueday, Feb. 17, by announcing a Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

"Coming Home to Las Vegas! We are back for our third residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino," the announcement read.

It went on to reveal the dates, with the residency running "from Thursday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026."

And it's not just the '80s rockers who will be taking the stage, as the social media post revealed that they "will be rocking the strip with special guest @buckcherry."

"Rock Zone fan club members will have exclusive, first access to tickets starting Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. PT," the post read, adding that the general on-sale begins Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10 am PT here.

The Scorpions are more than familiar with Vegas, as they previously sold out all nine performances at Planet Hollywood in 2022 for "Sin City Nights" and then celebrated the 40th anniversary of their iconic "Love at First Sting" album.

“Our residency in Las Vegas last year was pure rock ’n’ roll joy!! Unforgettable nights with fans from all over the world. That energy stayed with us, so coming back in 2026 just felt right. We can’t wait to return to Planet Hollywood and celebrate the music, the memories, and another round of rockin’ good times. Vegas… we’re gonna sting you again!" Klaus Meine said in a statement.

The latest "Coming Home to Las Vegas" residency celebrates the band's 60th anniversary. It was originally set to kick off on Feb. 27, 2025, but was postponed due to drummer Mikkey Dee'shospitalization and recovery from sepsis. It was rescheduled to Aug. 2025.

Earlier this month, the icons announced they are re-releasing their debut album, Lonesome Crowe, which was initially released in 1972 and served as the soundtrack for the German anti-drug film Das Kalte Paradies.

One of the most successful rock and metal bands in the world, they've continued touring for the past several years, bringing their enduring music to stages across Europe—in cities like France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Poland—throughout 2025 as part of their “Coming Home” tour, and even setting their return to India for the first time since 2008, with several dates in April.

In addition to Meine and Dee, the band, known for their hits including “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and “Wind of Change," also consists of members MatthiasJabs, Rudolf Schenker and Paweł Maciwoda.

2004 No. 1 Hit Named One of the 'Top Breakup Songs of All Time'

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 10:37am

While all decades of music have produced major hit breakup songs, there are some emotional tracks that are too good to beat, and according to Billboard, Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" is one of those songs.

The music publication named the hit song, which was released on Clarkson's second studio album Breakaway, as the fourth best breakup song to ever be released, and it's really no surprise that it's so high on the list.

"Since U Been Gone" has stood the test of time, with fans of all ages belting out the powerful lyrics for over two decades now. Back in 2024, Clarkson celebrated the song's 20th anniversary with fans, proving just how timeless her song truly is.

The song was a hit with both critics and on music charts, reaching a peak of No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while it took the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Pop Songs chart for seven weeks in a row.

The lyrics likely resonated with a lot of fans going through the end of tough relationships, with Clarkson singing, "But since you been gone/ I can breathe for the first time/ I'm so movin' on, yeah, yeah."

Over 20 years since it's release, "Since U Been Gone" is still seen as one of Clarkson's best songs ever released, and in November 2025, it was the singer's first track to reach one billion streams on Spotify.

Other popular songs from Clarkson include "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Because Of You," released on Breakaway alongside "Since U Been Gone," as well as "Stronger" and "Already Gone," to name a few.

"Since U Been Gone" is listed among other greats on Billboard's list, with Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" taking the top spot. The other two songs that ranked above Clarkson's song were Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" in the second spot and The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" in third place.

Rev. Al Sharpton Says Rev. Jesse Jackson 'Taught Me Activism'

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 10:28am

Political and Civil Rights leaders are reacting to the news that Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. died at 84 on February 17.

One of them was Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter, Bernice King. Reverend Al Sharpton made an appearance on Morning Joe to talk about Rev. Jackson's legacy and what he learned from him.

"He definitely was the most definitive teacher in my life, including he teased me. We used to do a show on CNN, Both Sides. He said he was training me for politics nation," Rev. Sharpton, 71, said. The reverend was asked why his teacher didn't run for president again after placing second in 1988's nominating campaigns.

"He basically was not a politician," he answered. "He was one that saw politics as a means and not an end. And he saw himself fighting in the social policy arena." Rev. Sharpton said Rev. Jackson was focused on immigration policies, women's rights and racial profiling. "He felt he could be better with a broader context and he was going global."

Saddam Hussein's soldiers took British, American, French, and Canadian citizens as hostages in 1990 while invading Kuwait. Rev. Jackson went to Baghdad to negotiate for their freedom. He completed that goal a few days later. The negotiator reunited with the five-year-old boy, Stuart Lockwood, in London 19 years later, according to St. Louis American.

"This had never been done in the Civil Rights movement. It had never been done at that level," Rev. Sharpton said. "Jesse Jackson broke ground that no one had done." He explained that he paved the way for President Barack Obama by defending the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits racial discrimination in voting. Rev. Jackson registered many voters to prepare for his future presidential run, and that changed Congress two years later. The rule changed for delegates, and that led to President Obama's nomination decades later.

Elvis Presley Stage Show in Development, Baz Luhrmann Confirms

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 10:26am

A stage show about the life of Elvis Presley is in development, says EPiC director Baz Luhrmann.

In an interview with Magic Radio shared on TikTok, Luhrmann revealed that the musical has moved from idea to "being worked on." The Elvis director shared new information about this next project devoted to the King of Rock and Roll.

"It's already being worked on," he declared. "It's happening, yeah."

He continued, "I don't know if I'm supposed to announce it. But hey, I just did."

Could we see Elvis the Musical in the coming years? Baz Luhrmann confirms that an Elvis stage show is in the works 🎸 However, although he directed the hit film that was released in 2022, Baz won't be the one at the helm of the production 🎭 #bazluhrmann #elvis #elvisonstage #elvismovie

"We are actually, yes. I'm not doing it," Luhrmann continued. "I got Alex Timbers to do the Moulin Rouge musical. I can never go backwards."

He concluded that he "can't be precious. Take my baby!"

A stage musical adaptation of Presley's story would be the third project centered around the entertainer that Luhrmann is attached to. It follows his 2022 film Elvis and the expanded concert-style cut of the movie, further cementing the director’s creative investment in the rock legend’s legacy.

Elvis starred Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. That film received eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor (Butler), Cinematography, Costume Design, Film Editing, Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Picture, Production Design, and Sound.

EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert depicts the entertainer, in his own words, through rare footage and performances drawn from across his career. The project weaves together archival interviews and restored concert clips to present Presley’s story as he told it himself.

Luhrmann did not indicate when the stage project would begin or when it would reach audiences. EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, a documentary film by Baz Luhrmann, will be released in IMAX for an exclusive one-week run beginning February 20, 2026. The movie will then expand to theaters worldwide on February 27, 2026.

1990 Hit Ranked Best ‘Hair Metal Guitar Solo’ of All Time

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 10:25am

A killer guitar solo is what separates good hair metal songs from the great ones. That's why Ultimate Classic Rock decided to compile a list of the Top 20 Best Hair Metal Guitar Solos of all time in an effort to spotlight some of the greatest performances in '80s hard rock history.

Classic rock anthems like Kiss' "Under the Gun" (1984) and Bon Jovi's "Bad Medicine" (1988) made the list, but in the No. 1 spot is none other than Extreme's 1990 hit "Get The Funk Out," which features "the Mount Rushmore of hair metal guitar solos" performed by Nuno Bettencourt.

"You could argue for any number of solos on Extreme's second album taking the top spot here, but 'Get the Funk Out' strikes the perfect balance of melody, groove, feel and jaw-dropping virtuosity," Ultimate Classic Rock writes. "The bends and staccato walk-ups are full of character, and the multi-string tapping at the solo's core is simply unmatched."

In a 2023 interview with Songfacts, Extreme frontman Gary Cherone talked about the making of "Get the Funk Out," sharing how the song — like many of Extreme's other songs and albums — was built around the guitar riff.

"'Get the Funk Out' certainly started from the music, when Nuno showed me that," Cherone said. "We were on the road touring our first record. It was one of the first songs we wrote for Pornograffitti (1990). I don’t know if it was an exit sign that inspired that song, but it was just something… a catchphrase. I don’t think that it has any deeper meaning. It’s pretty self-explanatory."

Musician Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme performs onstage during the Above Ground 4 concert benefiting Musicares at The Fonda Theatre.

The American rock band was evolving from a hair metal band into something more aligned with funk and groove at the time, and "Get the Funk Out" represented that transition. "It was like a defense of what our music stood for," Cherone said.

The song and the album it was released with launched Extreme into newfound territory as a band, helping them gain new audiences globally. Bettencourt spoke to Louder in 2018 about the song's legacy.

"It has all the elements: a funk riff, harmonies, a horn section, the kitchen sink," Bettencourt said. "The first time I met Brian May, the first thing out of his mouth was, ‘Hey, "Get The Funk Out" – who writes a riff like that?’ Maybe it was because I was writing it like a horn section?"

'90s Metal Singer Makes Bold Statement on Rumored Reunion With Beloved Band

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 10:25am

The good news: after Alissa White-Gluz's departure, it looks like Arch Enemy will continue with a femme-presenting vocalist. The bad news: despite the initial excitement over a slight tease, it's not former lead singer, Angela Gossow.

White-Gluz departed Arch Enemy at the end of 2025, leaving the band's future in doubt. Last week, the band scrubbed their social media accounts and posted a cryptic teaser with a hooded figure with polished nails holding a burning torch. Gossow was tagged in the post, leading many to think she had rejoined the fold.

"It's not ME!" commented Gossow on a second teaser, posted Feb. 16. "But thank you for all the love! I am really excited to be involved in this new chapter as the manager. This is gonna CRUSH!"

Needless to say, many Arch Enemy fans were very sad. "Don't say that!" one wrote in response to her message. "My heart is broken," added another. Others weighed in with similarly sorrowful messages, all dotted with crying emojis: "We'd love to see you again on stage!" "Stop playing with my heart. I'm not a young girl anymore." "We were hoping."

In the second clip, the rest of Arch Enemy—guitarists Michael Amott and Joey Concepcion, bassist Sharlee D'Angelo and drummer Daniel John Erlandsson—are tuning up, readying themselves to play. In walks a pair of boots, and someone reaches down to pick up the discarded microphone. End scene.

After seeing the new teaser, some fans began wondering that, if not Gossow, who is the woman picking up the mic? "If it's really not Angela, the perfect vocalist for this moment in Arch Enemy is Lauren Hart! She's visceral!" said one fan, referring to the lead singer for American melodic death metal band, Once Human. Hart's name came up a few other times in the comment section, with people swearing it's her in the teaser.

"I wish it were Angela, but [Lauren Hart] would be amazing," wrote one wistful metalhead.

Arch Enemy: A Short History

Formed in 1995, Arch Enemy was originally a melodic death metal supergroup, featuring members of Carcass, Mercyful Fate, Nevermore and Carnage. Initially, Johan Liiva served as the band's lead singer, belting vocals on the albums Black Earth, Stigmata, and Burning Bridges. In 2000, the band recruited Angela Gossow.

2001's Wages of Sin was the first Arch Enemy album with her singing. The band reached new heights of metal fame and fortune with Angela at the forefront until March 2014. Gossow released a statement saying she would step back from the mic to focus on her family, but would remain part of the Arch Enemy family as the band's business manager.

The group then welcomed Alissa White-Gluz, formerly of The Agonist. Alissa, who received Angela's blessing, was at the front of Arch Enemy up until November.

"After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways," she said in a statement. "I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way... I can't wait to share what I have been working on with you all (with some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026 and see you very soon."

Soon afterward, White-Gluz shared her first solo single, "The Room Where She Died."
