Hollywood Icon Sends Message After Lindsey Vonn's Winter Olympics Crash

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 1:50am

In the hours after one of the most painful moments of her career, Olympic skiing icon Lindsey Vonn received an unexpected show of support from Hollywood.

Actress Reese Witherspoon left a powerful and encouraging comment on Vonn’s Instagram post after the skier revealed details of her crash and serious injury during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Vonn, 41, confirmed that she suffered a complex tibia fracture during the women’s downhill race after clipping a gate just seconds into her run. The injury is stable but will require multiple surgeries, officially ending her Olympic campaign. Despite the physical pain and emotional weight of the moment, Vonn made it clear she had no regrets.

“While yesterday did not end the way I had hoped, and despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets,” Vonn wrote. “Standing in the starting gate yesterday was an incredible feeling that I will never forget.”

Among the many reactions to her post, Witherspoon’s words stood out.

“LV, I’m so inspired by your courage to always challenge yourself. You are & will always be a true Champion 🏆,” the Oscar-winning actress commented.

Vonn’s Instagram message went beyond injury updates. She explained exactly what went wrong during her run, noting that in downhill ski racing, a difference of just five inches can change everything.

“I was simply 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm hooked inside of the gate, twisting me and resulted in my crash,” she wrote. Vonn was clear that her torn ACL and past injuries played no role in the accident.

View this post on Instagram

She also spoke openly about risk, both in sports and in life.

“Similar to ski racing, we take risks in life. We dream. We love. We jump. And sometimes we fall,” Vonn shared. “But that is also the beauty of life; we can try.”

The crash happened during Vonn’s first Olympic downhill run, just 13 seconds after leaving the starting gate. She was treated on the slope before being airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Treviso, Italy, where she later underwent surgery.

Vonn entered the Olympics after an incredible comeback season. After retiring in 2019 due to chronic knee pain, she returned to competitive skiing following a partial knee replacement in April 2024. By the start of the 2025–2026 season, she was once again dominating the World Cup circuit and leading the downhill standings.

Cortina d’Ampezzo held special meaning for Vonn. It was the site of her first World Cup podium in 2004, and she had earned 12 career wins there. Even after revealing a torn ACL just days before the Games, Vonn chose to race.

“I also knew that racing was a risk. It always was and always will be an incredibly dangerous sport,” she wrote.

Her final message struck a hopeful tone.

“I tried. I dreamt. I jumped,” Vonn said. “Because the only failure in life is not trying.”

'90s Rocker Sends Clear Message After Super Bowl LX

Tue, 02/10/2026 - 12:06am

Kid Rock sent a loud message to fans and critics just hours after the Super Bowl halftime debate cooled down and he did it with a chart-topping song and a simple social media post.

The 1990s rocker shared an Instagram post showing music charts where his cover of “’Til You Can’t” sat at No. 1. Right behind him were global superstar Bad Bunny’s songs “DtMF” at No. 3 and “Tití Me Preguntó” at No. 4.

The ranking came right after Super Bowl LX weekend, where Bad Bunny headlined the official halftime show while Kid Rock performed in an alternative halftime event.

In his caption, Kid Rock made it clear he was enjoying the moment but not chasing chart numbers.

Musician Kid Rock introduces U.S. Vice President JD Vance to speak in front of members of the US Military on November 26, 2025 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

“I could care less about the charts but I can’t miss out on the fun of posting this! Thank you!! God Is Good. PS: I will be on Fox News Laura Ingraham tonight,” he wrote.

Kid Rock released his cover of Cody Johnson’s hit song “’Til You Can’t” at midnight after the Super Bowl weekend. In less than 24 hours, the track climbed to No. 1 on the all-genre iTunes chart. The original version by Cody Johnson jumped to No. 2, showing strong interest in both versions of the song.

View this post on Instagram

The release came right after Kid Rock performed the song during the Turning Point USA “All-American Halftime Show.” During the performance, he added a new verse with spiritual themes. He explained the reason behind it, saying he felt inspired one morning to write one more verse for the song.

“I awoke one Sunday morning all alone with this song stuck in my head, and in that moment, something or someone spoke to me," he said, according to Whiskey Riff. "They said there was still a verse that needed to be written for this song. And to get up and write it down.”

Kid Rock said he also got permission from Cody Johnson and the songwriters before recording the cover. He called the song one of the best written tracks he has heard in a long time.

While iTunes is not an official global chart, topping the store, especially ahead of a major Super Bowl halftime artist, is still seen as a strong signal of fan support.

Even with the chart win, the overall Super Bowl halftime story was dominated by Bad Bunny’s performance. Early data showed his official halftime show reached a far bigger audience.

Reports showed the alternative halftime stream featuring Kid Rock drew about five to six million live viewers online. Meanwhile, early projections suggested the official halftime show could reach around 135 million viewers, possibly making it one of the most-watched halftime shows ever.

The official NFL YouTube halftime video passed more than 23 million views within a day. The alternative halftime stream reached around 20 million total views after posting, with many views coming after the broadcast ended.

Bad Bunny’s performance included major guest appearances and historic moments. He became the first Latino male artist to headline the halftime show and performed mostly in Spanish.

The alternative show was framed as a celebration of “faith, family and freedom,” offering viewers another option during halftime.

Kid Rock’s Instagram post and chart success added another layer to that story. His No. 1 ranking showed strong support from his fan base. At the same time, Bad Bunny’s massive viewership showed how wide his global reach is.

What is clear is that both artists stayed in the spotlight after the game ended, one through record-breaking viewership and the other through chart-topping downloads and a viral social media moment.

Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood Demands Music Be Removed From Controversial ‘Melania’ Documentary

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 11:09pm

On Jan. 30, the documentary Melania, focused on First Lady Melania Trump, was released, and since then, the controversial film has proven to be quite divisive for a variety of reasons. Adding to the controversy, a prominent musician is now demanding that a piece of music he composed be removed from the film.

Jonny Greenwood, of the rock bands Radiohead and The Smile, and director Paul Thomas Anderson requested that a part of the score from Anderson's 2017 film, Phantom Thread, be removed from Melania after discovering that it was used in the film.

Greenwood and Anderson said in a statement to Variety, "It has come to our attention that a piece of music from Phantom Thread has been used in the Melania documentary."

Going on, the statement explained why they are making the request, saying, "While Jonny Greenwood does not own the copyright in the score, Universal failed to consult Jonny on this third-party use which is a breach of his composer agreement. As a result Jonny and Paul Thomas Anderson have asked for it to be removed from the documentary.”

As of writing, there's no news of a response from Melania or the team behind the documentary.

Phantom Thread is a period drama starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Vicky Krieps, and Lesley Manville, focusing on a successful dressmaker, played by Day-Lewis, in 1950s London. Greenwood composed all of the music for the film. He also composed the score for Anderson's previous films, The Master, Inherent Vice, and There Will Be Blood.

The Radiohead guitarist most recently worked with Anderson on his award-winning 2025 filmOne Battle After Another.

In a 2018 interview with Adam Buxton on his podcast, Greenwood shared a little insight into the process of making the score for Phantom Thread, saying that he wanted it to be relatively simple, but "Paul just kept asking for bigger and bigger string section sounds. The romance, the big lush thing."

"He basically likes to take the piss out of me, and was joking about how unromantic Radiohead is," Greenwood said of the director. "And [he] said, ‘Come on, you must have some romance in you. Give me more strings.’ And he wanted the music to be really English and really romantic and be written by me, which feels like a big three-way contradiction now I’ve said that.”

Phantom Thread ended up being nominated for both an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, although it didn't win.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Monday, February 9, Anthony, 57, was asked whether Lopez, 56, has given him any advice about “the grueling nature of Las Vegas residencies” since she has headlined shows in the Nevada hotspot “several times.”

“No. I don’t need advice from Jennifer as far as concerts are concerned,” Anthony responded. “I’ve seen her residency as well. No, she hasn’t.”

Lopez embarked on her first Las Vegas residency, All I Have, at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in January 2016. The residency concluded in September 2018 after 120 shows, grossing $101.9 million.

In December 2025, Lopez kicked off her second residency, Up All Night Live in Las Vegas, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The venture is currently scheduled to wrap in March after 12 shows.

As for Anthony, he will debut his first Las Vegas residency, Vegas … My Way!, at Fontainebleau on Friday, February 13. There are 10 live performances planned between February and August.

“It’s a totally different proposition,” he teased to The Hollywood Reporter. “I have my stadium show and my arena show that I’ve been doing for years, but this Vegas residency affords itself for me to do things I’ve never done before. I’m designing a show for this intimate room. I’m going to sing songs I’ve never been able to perform live in my life, for various reasons. When you have 114 No. 1s, you can only sing a certain amount. I’m looking forward to just that bucket list moment of giving those songs life on stage.”

He added: “It’s going to be a big party. I think I’ll talk a little more; I’ll probably tell a couple of stories. And since I’ll be here for a while, we’ll arrange for some special guests to pass through and duet with me.”

Anthony and Lopez were married from 2004 to 2014. Since their divorce, the pair have continued to co-parent their 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

Lopez previously told Kelly Ripa in March 2017 that she and Anthony “are like best friends” following their split.

Both of the artists have moved on too. Anthony has been married to Nadia Ferreira since January 2023. The couple, who are already parents of 2-year-old son Marco, announced in January that they are expecting their second baby together. (Anthony also shares son Chase, 35, and daughter Arianna, 31, with ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado and sons Cristian, 25, and Ryan, 22, with ex-wife Dayanara Torres.)

As for Lopez, she tied the knot with Ben Affleck in July 2022, though the two divorced in January 2025.

'Hollyoaks' Star Gemma Merna Reflects on Carmel’s Emotional Return

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:48pm

Gemma Merna last appeared on Hollyoaks in 2013, when her fan-favorite character Carmel Valentine was killed off during the show’s dramatic train crash storyline. Now, more than a decade later, Merna is returning to the Channel 4 soap as Carmel’s on-screen brother John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) prepares to exit the series. The actress recently opened up about what it meant to step back into the world of Hollyoaks and reunite with the McQueen family, one of the show’s most beloved families.

Speaking about her return, Merna shared how natural it felt to be back on set. “It was lovely filming with familiar faces,” she shared. “It was like we’ve been transported back to over 11 years ago. It’s weird, it’s like nothing has changed, but obviously we’re so much older and wiser now. It was lovely to have the original family back together.”

Teasing what viewers can expect from her return, Merna revealed that Carmel appears in more than one emotional context. “We see two different versions of Carmel,” she explained. “Both scenes were written amazingly by Alanna Hallum. She has written so many amazing scripts for Carmel, so I was very excited as soon as I saw her name on the script. I knew it was going to be good.”

Merna also reflected on the lasting impact Carmel had on viewers. “People say to me ‘I used to run home from school to watch her, she used to really cheer me up,’” she shared. “That’s the thing with Carmel, she cheered everyone up.”

Looking back on Carmel’s role within the family, Merna said she always saw the character as a caretaker. “Carmel’s role before her exit was trying to look after Theresa and Kathleen-Angel,” she explained.  “She was the one who always had a good job and a lot of structure. She looked after everyone. If anyone felt down Carmel was there to give them a big hug and tell them that everything was going to be ok.”

When asked which storylines stood out most from her time on the show, Merna didn’t hesitate. “The train explosion storyline was epic and Who Shot Calvin,” she said. “Another was when she got married to Calvin, because it was a flash forward which was just genius.”

Merna believes that the McQueen family’s relatability is the key to their lasting popularity. “People say to me there’s someone in my family that’s like Mercedes, or Tina, or John Paul, or Carmel, or Myra,” she said. “Everyone relates to them because they’re normal.”

Sharing one of her favorite memories from the show, Merna recalled her very first episode, “When we first joined, it was me, Jen, Hollie-Jay and Leah. It was my first ever scene and we are all in the SU bar singing. Darren Osborne comes in and is like ‘we could make a girl band out of these’. I think that is one of my favourite memories, our first episode of coming into the village. I loved that.”

Reflecting on what the McQueen name still means to her, Merna added, Being a McQueen means everything to me. It’s like being a McQueen is part of my heart. As Carmel said just before she passed away ‘you get one McQueen, you get all of us’, that’s what it is, once you’re a McQueen you’re always a McQueen.”

Chappell Roan Is Leaving Casey Wasserman’s Talent Agency Amid His Involvement in the Epstein Files

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:26pm

Pop artist Chappell Roan has announced she is no longer represented by Wasserman–the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman—after his name appeared in newly released documents tied to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The revelations include previously undisclosed emails and interactions with Epstein's close associate Ghislaine Maxwell, which have ignited widespread backlash within music and entertainment circles.

Roan shared her decision on an Instagram story, emphasizing that artists deserve representation that aligns with their moral values and protects their safety and dignity.

"As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman," she wrote. "I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them, as well."

She added that neither artists nor agents "should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with [their] own moral values," and that she refuses to "passively stand by" while leaders of her agency face serious ethical scrutiny.

Roan also expressed deep respect for the agents and staff with whom she has worked, making clear her departure is about leadership at the top rather than individual employees.

"This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust," she continued.

Chappell Roan Ins

The controversy stems from the release of hundreds of thousands of pages of federal records, including racy emails that indicate ties between Wasserman and Maxwell from the early 2000s. Wasserman has issued a statement saying he regrets the correspondence and maintains he never had a personal or business relationship with Epstein himself.

"I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light," Wasserman shared at the time, according to the BBC. "I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them."

Wasserman's involvement in the Epstein files has sparked broader debates within the entertainment world regarding accountability at powerful agencies and what moral responsibilities leadership should hold. And significant exits like Roan's have the potential to reshape representation norms and artist affiliations in the months ahead.

While Roan's exit is one of the most high-profile departures so far, she's not alone. Other artists and industry figures—including the band Wednesday and Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino—have also publicly distanced themselves from Wasserman or urged changes in leadership, arguing that association with individuals connected to Epstein ultimately makes the agency untenable for creators who prioritize ethics and survivor support.

David Tag Reflects on McQueen Legacy Ahead of 'Hollyoaks' Return

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:05pm

David Tag made a lasting impression on Hollyoaks viewers as Sylver McQueen, but after his great-cousin and stepson Bobby Costello (Jayden Fox) left him to die in a dramatic on-screen stunt, it was time to say goodbye to the fan-favorite character. Now, Tag is returning to Hollyoaks for a special “What If” episode, reflecting on what it’s been like to step back onto the set, revisit his time on the soap, and look back on his favorite memories as part of the iconic McQueen family.

Tag exited Hollyoaks in January of 2022, and four years later, he found himself back on set once again. “It was honestly like I’d never left,” he shared. “I was on set and we were just laughing like the old days, it was pretty amazing. Seeing all the new family members as well, I had coincidentally met them all before. I’ve met Leah at a few events in the past. Gemma used to go to my acting class and I have mutual friends with Hollie-Jay. It was great to be on set with all of them.”

Tag also expressed excitement for viewers to see the special episode. “I think the fans are going to react really well,” he teased. “Without giving too much away, you will see Sylver in a very different light...”

The “What If” episode will also see the return of several familiar faces from Hollyoaks’ past, in addition to Tag those returning for the special include, Gemma Merna, Hollie-Jay Bowes, Leah Hackett and Annie Wallace.

Discussing filming the special, Tag added, A few things happened on set, when Nancy, played by Jessica Fox, turned up in a Goth outfit it took everybody by surprise, she looked incredible. Myra broke the Christ the Redeemer statue, and then me and Malique missed our cue two or three times because we were playing a racing game on the computer, which wasn’t very professional… “

Reflecting on his time on the show between 2018 and 2022, Tag shared that several storylines stood out. When I was a McQueen, the storyline which really stood out for me was when Liam Donovan was involved, I loved working with Jude Monk McGowan."

The actor shared some other moments that stood out to him, adding, "It goes without saying when my onscreen mum was a serial killer. The late-night episode with her was brilliant, she was such fun to work with. Then when I first arrived, we went to Magaluf, I couldn’t believe my luck, as soon as I arrived, I was flying off to paradise.”

Tag believes the enduring appeal of the McQueens lies in how relatable they are to viewers. “The McQueens still relate to the audiences now because they’re normal people, who get in awful situations,” he explained. “They’re honest, they’re raw, and people love that about them.”

For Tag, his favorite memory of being part of the McQueens is the family he gained along the way. “My favourite memory of being a McQueen is my family, every single member of it are such individuals on the show and in real life. We’ve maintained friendships since I’ve left and they’re all amazing unique people. It’s a privilege to have known them and to have been a part of that family.”

Reflecting on what being a McQueen has meant to him, Tag added, “I can now safely say that in my acting career I have been part of an iconic family and no one can take that away from me. I’ll always be grateful and proud of that.”

This 1971 Classic Was Ranked the Top Rolling Stones Song of All Time

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:00pm

Considering they've been making music for over 60 years, it's pretty tough to pick a "top" song by the Rolling Stones. Fans and critics alike have their personal favorites, of course, and some hits have been bigger than others, but narrowing it down to just one tune by the legendary rock band seems next to impossible.

That's just what Classic Rock History did, though, with a list of the "top 10 Rolling Stones songs of all time." As writer Brian Kachejian put it, "if we were stuck in a subway station during a blackout, and we could only listen to ten Rolling Stones tracks to get us through whatever came next...then these are the ten we’d choose to ride it out with."

The songs that made the cut were all from the '60s and '70s, which isn't too surprising, and included a mix of their most famous tracks and a few somewhat lesser-known songs (though any true Stones fan would definitely be very familiar with all of them). "Moonlight Mile" from the 1971 album Sticky Fingers, coming in at #10, was never released as a single, for example, while "Jumpin' Jack Flash" — ranked at #6 — was released as a standalone single in 1968 and went straight to the top of the charts in the UK (it's also been performed more in the band's concert history than any other).

At #5 was the first Rolling Stones song to become a number one single in the U.S., "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," which occupied that position for four weeks after its release in 1965 and could arguably be considered their most well-known tune to this day. Next up, at #4, was the groundbreaking "Sympathy for the Devil," which stirred up a fair share of controversy when it was released on 1968's Beggars Banquet. A very different kind of song, the emotional "Memory Motel" from Black and Blue (1976), took the #3 spot, while "Gimme Shelter" — one of the most iconic tracks from 1969's Let It Bleed — was ranked #2.

The #1 pick, finally, was another song from Sticky Fingers..."Can't You Hear Me Knocking." As Kachejian wrote, "it may not be the most popular or the biggest hit, but there’s something truly special about this one. It captures the entire band playing their hearts out with such intensity — what made so many of us fall in love with the Rolling Stones in the first place."

Indeed, the seven-minute-long track, which features one of Keith Richards' meanest riffs, some truly outrageous vocals from Mick Jagger, and a sexy instrumental jam at the end, is a fan-favorite for a reason. (At the time of this writing, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" has racked up over 100 million streams on Spotify, for anybody who needs proof.)

‘American Idol’ Star and Son of ’90s Country Icon Earns Golden Ticket With Heartfelt Tribute to Dad

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 9:53pm

American Idol continues to feature the offspring of famous musical artists when Christian Brown, son of ‘90s country music star Marty Brown, auditions for a Golden Ticket to Hollywood Week.

The 22-year-old delivery driver introduces himself, saying, “My dad is country singer/songwriter Marty Brown. He’s known for his song ‘I’m From the Country and We Like It That Way.’ He put out three records in the ‘90s, he’s played on the Grand Ole Opry stage and he’s a member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. He’s all and all a great songwriter, a great singer and a great dad.”

For a bit of fun, Marty and Christian duet on “I’m From the Country,” and then Christian auditions for judges Luke Bryan– who knows Marty, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie with another of his father’s songs, “Wildest Dreams.” Marty wrote the song about his children. It’s a song about how much you love somebody.

“I am going to be singing it for my dad,” Christian says. “I want to tell him I love him, too. I would not be where I am today without him.”

After Christian’s solo, Luke tells Marty, “It’s got to make you proud to watch your boy do that.”

Then he asks Lionel what he thinks.

“I could take the both of them on the road right now and make a lot of money,” Lionel says. “Your enthusiasm on performing, I love.  I want to hear more from your vocals.”

To which Christian responds, “I’d love to give more to you.”

Then Carrie says, “What a surprising range to your voice. You hit a high note that I was, ‘Where did that come from?’ It’s a weapon in your arsenal for sure.”

“Thank you,” Christian says. “That means a lot coming from you.”

Finally, Luke says, “I think you’ve got all the tools to see some more rounds in this competition, really dig in more. It’s a big-time vocal competition. I want to see you go after that. I want to see you grow. It’s a yes.”

Lionel and Carrie also gave Christian a yes, so he’s got his Golden Ticket to Hollywood Week.
