Viral Puppy Bowl 2026 Participant Teigan Died Months Before She Warmed Viewers’ Hearts

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:39pm

Teigan, a wheelchair-bound dog who went viral during the 2026 Puppy Bowl, died before the special event aired.

Perfect Imperfections—a Connecticut animal rescue for dogs with disabilities—announced in October 2025 that Teigan died from a severe case of pneumonia.

“Teigan, my tiny little girl was so fragile and strong at the same time,” read a Facebook post. “Born with neurological issues and a severely curved spine. When she first arrived to me she almost died from pneumonia. She fought and survived but we knew this could be an issue for her. The way her head bent made it harder for her to eat and swallow. We started feeding her in an upright position, burped her and watched carefully that food was not getting stuck in her throat.”

What started out as a “normal day” for Teigan in October took a turn when she was rushed to the vet.

“Within an hour she could barely breathe. X-rays showed severe pneumonia,” the post continued. “She spent the day at the vet in oxygen and IV fluids. Her breathing was very labored. I took her home and set everything up for her so she could continue getting her fluids and oxygen. I checked on her every two hours to change her position and flush her catheter. I started to get tail wags when I talked to her and for a moment I was hopeful she would beat this again but knowing her little body had already suffered through this once.”

According to the post, Teigan ultimately “took her last breath” as she succumbed to her symptoms.

Ahead of her Puppy Bowl appearance, Perfect Imperfections reflected on Teigan’s experience filming the special.

“It will be bittersweet to [see] her on TV,” a Friday, February 6, Facebook post read. “For those who don’t know, Teigan and I spent a day at the rescue taping a segment about Teigan, her condition and her receiving her custom cart made by K9karts. A few weeks after we had the taping we traveled to NY and participated in the Puppy Bowl. It was such a fun experience. We [met] so many incredible people from rescues all over the USA. Spending the day in a room full of puppies was an added bonus.”

The post concluded: “Please tune in and help celebrate Teigan. She was such an incredible soul. I’m not sure I will ever get over losing her so soon.”

Two days later, Teigan became a fan-favorite during the Sunday, February 8, Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

“Teigan isn’t afraid to give it her all! #PuppyBowl,” Animal Planet captioned a viral X post on Sunday, which showed Teigan in the competition.

“I’m not crying, you’re crying,” one person commented, while another replied, “I’ve never been more proud of a lil puppy.”

A third person chimed in, “[She’s] so precious and doing [her] very best.”

“How sweet and look at all her supportive friends!” another responded.

“Oh my goodness, that tiny baby melted me completely,” another fan shared. “I was in tears—[she ’s] just the sweetest little angel ever!”

After news spread online of Teigan’s death, social media users flocked to the comments section to send their condolences.

“She was such a sweetheart!! So sad to hear of her passing,” one person wrote, while another added, “RIP Teigan you stole millions of hearts this Puppy Bowl. You’ll never be forgotten, queen. You can finally rest now.”

Another fan summed up everyone’s feelings, replying, “Teigen [sic] did amazing! Rest in peace, sweet baby. The entire world loves and will miss you.”

Costco's Is Selling a Giant Chocolate Valentine's Treat for Just $20, and Shoppers Say It's a Total Steal

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:30pm

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, there's really only one thing that matters most: chocolate, and exactly who will be gifting it to us. Whether you plan to selfishly hoard delicious treats for yourself this year or you're in full gift-giving mode, you can always count on Costco to deliver something that feels perfect for the occasion and appropriately over-the-top.

Case in point: Del Conte's Hollow Milk Chocolate Giant Heart, a fantastically oversized 5.5-pound chocolate heart that typically sells for upwards of $87 and has just been spotted in Costco warehouses for only $19.97. Anyone on the hunt for a perfect last-minute Valentine's Day gift might want to lace up their sneakers and sprint for their local warehouse before it disappears.

Del Conte's Hollow Milk Chocolate Giant Heart, $19.97 at Costco View this post on Instagram

We first came across this incredible chocolate gift earlier this year and immediately swooned over its premium quality and oversized design, even if it hit stores a little earlier than expected. Crafted in Italy, it features embossed hearts cascading down one side and a hollow construction that can be easily portioned into roughly 78 servings. (In theory, that is.)

As for the chocolate itself, it's made with pure milk chocolate using just six ingredients: sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa butter, unsweetened chocolate, soy lecithin and natural vanilla flavoring. So far, only a milk chocolate version has been spotted in Costco warehouses, with no confirmation yet on whether a dark chocolate option even exists. Sorry, dark chocolate lovers, we were rooting for you, too.

What Shoppers Are Saying

"If you're looking for a last-minute Valentine's or Galentine's gift, this may be it—because this chocolate was actually delicious," @costcohotfinds raved in her post, adding in the caption, "It's a Costco-sized chocolate heart 🤣."

Ironically, before the markdown, fans online didn't care for the near-$90 price tag. Earlier this year, a Reddit user shared a picture of the chocolate heart priced at $87 with the caption, "Can't go wrong with this Valentine Gift for your significant other," only to be met with comments like, "She'll love you more for the 58 hotdog combos instead." Now, beneath Laura's post, shoppers seem to have changed their tune:

"Not gonna lie, I'm buying this for myself and scooping it in peanut butter," one fan wrote. Another added, "OMG! This will not last long in my house," while a third brought some levity, saying, "An enlarged, hollow heart. There's a metaphor in there somewhere." Others kept it short and sweet with "yes please," and "I could eat this all myself."

With a new price tag and likely dwindling supply as Valentine's Day approaches, this once-overlooked gift has entered brand new territory, perfectly priced for last-minute shopping and sure to barely make a dent in even the most modest of budgets. Check your local warehouse this week and grab one for yourself or a loved one before they're all gone.

Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni’s Home Search: What Is Luminol and Why Is it Used? (Exclusive)

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:29pm

On Saturday, Feb. 7, authorities arrived at the home of Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni, where they collected evidence and took some photographs, according to media sources on scene. Deputies spent nearly three hours at the home, arriving after sundown and leaving before midnight. Within a short amount of time, X lit up with people talking about Luminol, a chemical reagent that is used in forensics to detect trace amounts of biological substances.

Parade chatted with former FBI Special Agent Bryanna Fox, a professor at the University of South Florida (USF) in the Department of Criminology and the co-director of the Center for Justice and Research and Policy at USF, about what Luminol is and why it might have been used at Annie and Tommaso's home.

For starters, Fox tells me that Luminol isn't presented by a "flash."

"It is a fluorescent blue light. You need to use it in complete darkness," Fox began. "Basically, the way it works is you shine it and it iridesces when it comes in contact with some kind of a biological substance, which could be blood, urine, saliva."

Although Fox doesn't know for sure if Luminol was used in Annie's home, she says that using Luminol is fairly standard protocol.

"There's a few things. One is—and I only saw brief coverage of that sort of Annie's house, and I saw the photographs being taken—the number one thing that you learn in the Academy is you only have a chance to see the way [a crime scene] was once. ... The FBI does not do the minimal. They do...everything. There's no shortage of resources. There's no shortage of manpower or time. They go all in on every case, every time. And so, if there's a choice, like, well, could this be relevant? Should we photograph it? No, the answer is you photograph it. I mean, everything," Fox continues.

Related: Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Nancy: Former FBI Agent ‘Skeptical’ About Kidnapping Theory

If authorities did use Luminol at Annie's house, without any context, it wouldn't set off alarm bells for Fox.

"I would not assume there's any deeper meaning other than they just want to document everything. You never know what's going to be important. You never have a chance to go back to it at a later date," she says.

When it comes to the reason authorities showed up at Annie's home at night, Fox believes it was simply a case of "urgency." With Annie's home allegedly being one of the last places that Nancy was before her disappearance, it makes sense to do a thorough search. Fox explains that authorities could be looking for anything that may have been left behind... maybe some files, envelopes, pieces of mail, or other things of that nature that could possibly contain information that would aid in the case.

Related: What Happens to Nancy Guthrie if Second Ransom Deadline Isn’t Met? Not ‘the End’ Says Former Hostage Negotiator

It's a similar deal with vehicles being taken in for evidence. On Friday, Feb. 6, Nancy's car was towed from her home.

"They could be searching it for hairs or fibers," Fox says, explaining that things found in people's cars can help authorities put clues together. "You don't know unless you take that vehicle in, right?"

Even if the car isn't suspected as being part of the case, there may never be an opportunity to search it in its current condition, which could lead to a "question mark" down the road," Fox adds.

"How do you know that there wasn't a perpetrator that was in the car? So, by crossing every T and dotting every I, they can gain the evidence that's potentially at that location and also eliminate a potential reasonable doubt that could be raised later on in the future," she says.

This 87-Year-Old Triathlete Developed a Rare Heart Condition—Here's the First Symptom She Noticed

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:25pm

Luise Easton, who is 87, has always been active. Her high school offered both junior varsity and varsity team sports for girls, even though it was before Title IX was passed. “We had basketball and field hockey, which I did for four years,” Easton tells Parade. She was also a synchronized swimmer, a sport for which she won a state championship.

It’s swimming that Easton loved the most, something she did throughout high school and still does today. As an adult, Easton became a P.E. teacher and has completed more than 100 triathlons and aquathlons (races that are a combination of running and swimming).

Over the decades, Easton built her daily life around movement, viewing exercise as both a passion and a routine part of her identity. Even as she balanced her career and personal responsibilities, she prioritized staying active, often training early in the morning or fitting in workouts whenever she could. Friends and family members have long described her as someone who rarely sits still, and she credits her longevity and independence to maintaining consistent physical activity throughout every stage of life.

It’s safe to say that she has lived a more active lifestyle than most people, which is exactly why it’s so surprising that she was diagnosed with a rare heart condition in 2021. Here, Easton reveals the first symptom she noticed that prompted her to go to the doctor and shares how she supports her heart health now. Easton’s cardiologist also shares what everyone should know about this rare heart condition.

Lisa DeJong/Cleveland Clinic

The First Symptom She Noticed of a Rare Heart Condition

By 2021, Easton had been doing triathlons for decades. So when she found herself feeling out of breath during exercise, it was a red flag; she wasn’t used to getting winded so easily. Easton’s doctor had her do a stress test. This led to discovering that her ejection fraction (a measurement that indicates how well the heart pumps blood) was below normal.

“The dysfunction in how strong her heart contracts is related to the electrical wiring in her heart, specifically a phenomenon called left bundle branch block,” says Dr. Tamanna Singh, MD, FACC, Easton’s cardiologist and the director of sports cardiology at Cleveland Clinic.

Related: 'I Was Diagnosed With a Rare Heart Condition At 25—This Unexpected Symptom Was a Huge Red Flag'

Dr. Singh explains that in a healthy heart, both bottom halves of the heart contract nearly simultaneously. “This allows for an efficient, strong contraction and ultimately delivery of oxygenated blood throughout the body,” she says. But with left bundle branch block, she explains that the left bottom half of the heart contracts a little bit slower than the right. This can lead to a weaker heart.

Less than 1% of the U.S. population has left bundle branch block, but it becomes more common with age. Typically, it isn’t diagnosed until someone is in their 80s, as was the case with Easton. Sometimes, a heart condition such as heart disease, a heart attack or high blood pressure causes left bundle branch block. But other times, there is no known cause.

Experiencing shortness of breath during exercise was the first (and only) symptom that Easton noticed, which prompted her to see her doctor, but left bundle branch block doesn’t always have symptoms. “This condition is typically diagnosed by a standard 12-lead electrocardiogram,” Dr. Singh says.

The lesson here is that it’s important to fully share your health history with your doctor, and if something feels off, that’s a sure sign to see your doctor, just like Easton did.

How Easton Is Supporting Her Heart as She Ages

After Easton was diagnosed, her primary concern was that she would have to stop racing. Fortunately, she didn’t have to. To manage her heart condition, Easton was prescribed several medications, including a beta blocker. Dr. Singh also told her to listen to her body, exercising at an intensity that felt attainable, but not stressful.

Easton has taken that advice to heart—literally. While she no longer participates in triathlons, she still does aquathlons, which consist of swimming one mile and running a 5K. “I walk the 5K instead of running it,” Easton says. She also walks regularly, explaining, “I’m not motivated to walk by myself, so I often meet a friend and we walk together."

Related: A Startling New Study Found That 75% of Past COVID Patients May Suffer From This Heart Condition

Dr. Singh says Easton’s lifelong habits of staying active have positively impacted her cardiac health. “We have an abundance of evidence supporting the positive impact long-term physical activity has on cardiovascular risk reduction and mental health. It has helped her stay mobile, physically independent, socially engaged and empowered,” Dr. Singh says.

“Luise is an incredible human, motivating to many, including myself,” Dr. Siingh adds. “She is proof that age does not define our abilities nor our capacity. Belief goes a long way and staying intentional about movement is what keeps us moving independently for longer.”

Staying active is certainly an important part of supporting your heart. But sometimes, you can do everything right and still experience heart problems. If something feels “off” about your body—no matter what it is—it’s worth seeing your doctor about. It just may be your body’s way of clueing you in on an underlying condition that needs your attention, and it could save your life.

Robert Irwin's Halftime Show Dance Goes Viral For All the Right Reasons

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:23pm

Like many celebrities on Super Bowl Sunday, Robert Irwin stepped out for the Big Game on Feb. 8 at Levi's Stadium.

The renowned conservationist's uploads from the Super Bowl match-up between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots—with a Halftime Show performance from Bad Bunny—brought an immense amount of joy to the timelines of his 9.3 million followers.

His first video captured the energy before the football game began, as the 22-year-old, rocking a custom jacket that read "Super Bowl LX," put on his glasses and posed with the stadium filled with spectators behind him.

His second upload showcased more of his excitement to be at the major live event, including a selfie from the stands, a video in which he could be heard stating, "It's game time, let's go," and a mirror shot, showing off his full outfit, stylish shades included.

A third video revealed the DWTS winner's comedic side, celebrating the Seahawks' win with a Minion-inspired voiceover, which he captioned, "Tonight we steal the WIN!! Well done Seahawks, never doubted you!"

Yet the video that’s gone viral is Irwin's genuine reaction to the Halftime Show—a live moment that sparked plenty of pre-and post-show controversy.

In the video, set to Bad Bunny's hit "Monaco," Irwin recaps his experience at the Super Bowl, with footage showing him dancing and celebrating the Puerto Rican artist's performance.

He showed even more support in the caption, writing, "American football = Robert Irwin approved ✅ Congrats Seahawks, and congrats Bad Bunny - what an amazing night."

"Aww, yes!! Robert Irwin enjoying Bad Bunny! Heart happy ❤️ Wildlife Warrior in La Casita! ❤️ ¡VAMOS! 🔥🔥" one fan wrote, as another expressed, "Robert enjoying Bad Bunny wasnt on my 2026 bingo card But i loved it!"

Many extended their gratitude, with one stating, "Thank you for celebrating Bad Bunny!!! We need people like you to support diversity these days ❤️❤️," as another emphasized, "thank you for embracing all cultures 💖."

With so much division surrounding Bad Bunny's performance, one person on X (formerly Twitter) used Irwin's dancing video as an example of allyship, writing, "look at this random white boy who doesnt know a lick of spanish living his best life to bad bunny with no problem. let's learn something from this!"

The post quickly went viral, racking up more than 8 million views. The user, Carlos, later clarified that he knew the dancer was the Australian icon when he shared the clip, as many followers rushed to Irwin’s defense after he was referred to as a “random white boy.”

"I’m sorry you’re getting so much heat for this even though it’s clearly a joke but at the same time it’s crazy to see how much love he has in his corner," one expressed.

Others understood the post as celebratory, praising the son of the late Crocodile HunterSteve Irwin for embracing the culture. “Bro is not listening with his ears — he is listening with his soul. Respect the energy,” one fan commented, while another added, “A great reminder that joy and music have no borders.”

What Happened to Quiznos? Inside the Rise and Fall of the Toasted Sub Chain

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:15pm

The '90s and early 2000s were home to a slew of popular sub and sandwich chains, notably Subway, Blimpie, Schlotzsky's, Potbelly, Jersey Mike's, Firehouse, and, of course, Quiznos. In its heyday, Quiznos Subs took off as a highly sought-after convenience staple because, unlike other cold-cut chains, it offered—and built its reputation on—toasted subs. Quiznos, which opened in 1981, truly revolutionized the sandwich industry with hot subs and touted its ingredients as "higher-quality" and "premium." Not only was its slogan "Mmmm… Toasty," it also championed its subs as "warm, melty and flavorful."

Another differentiator for Quiznos was its self-serve pepper bar, offering pickles, banana peppers, pickled jalapeños, and pepperoncini, as well as sauces such as red wine vinaigrette and four-pepper chili sauce (at select locations). Customers could add as few or as many briny toppings and flavorful dressings to their toasted sub as they desired, differentiating themselves from the competition. Some of its most iconic sandwiches included chicken carbonara, Baja chicken and spicy Monterey club, to name a few.

Remember the Creepy Mascots? View this post on Instagram

In addition to the delicious sandwiches (I personally preferred Quiznos over all other sub shops in the Midwest), Quiznos was both celebrated and criticized for its arguably foolish ads featuring quirky—and creepy—mascots named Spongmonkeys. Two strange, red-eyed, rodent-esc creatures sang-shouted off-key, "We love the subs." The unforgettable mascots and commercials were polarizing, reportedly causing 30,000 complaint calls to Quiznos' customer service per week when the jingle first came out in 2004.

The internet still talks about the British animator-designed critters, calling them "unhinged," "terrifying," "gross," and "annoying." Others feel the marketing was "genius," as they still remember the entire tune over 20 years later.

"I literally refused to eat there for years because of [those] commercials," said one Instagram user. "Using rodents to advertise food was a crazy time," exclaimed another. "I've never eaten at Quiznos BECAUSE of that commercial. It just made their entire brand look… gross. Not really a good look when you're trying to sell food," declared a commenter. "Thats why no one ate there. Singing sandwich rats," stated one more.

Others had positive things to say about the ads, claiming they brought attention to the chain, even if a bit odd or off-putting. "Ngl, we rode our bikes to Quiznos because of this," said one social media fan. "This is the most brilliant, yet ultimately unsuccessful marketing campaign of all time, because when was the last time you went to a Quiznos? But if someone says "we love the subs" in exactly the right voice, you know what they're referencing?" exclaimed someone else. "That commercial came out 21 years ago, and people are still talking about it. That's an effective ad," stated another.

Quiznos' Downfall Was a Death by a Thousand Cuts View this post on Instagram

Ultimately, the launch of the Spongmonkeys campaign contributed to Quiznos' demise. Like many other chain restaurants from the late '90s and early aughts, it took a nosedive in popularity in the late 2000s and into the 2010s. According to Restaurant Business, beginning in 2007, Quiznos downsized from 4,700 locations in the U.S. to fewer than 400, marking one of the fastest turnarounds in a chain restaurant at the time.

What started as a threat to Subway ended rather rapidly due to a collection of issues Quiznos faced after it hit peak popularity. Between the failed Spongmonkey ad campaign, low franchisee profits, lawsuits and settlements galore, the 2009 recession, a corporate buyout, the COVID-19 pandemic, and Subway's successful $5 footlong campaign and the addition of toasters to its shops, the combination of poor business decisions and outside variables ultimately sent Quiznos into the fast food abyss.

Where You Can Find a Quiznos Restaurant in 2026

itsmeapih / Shutterstock.com

Today, Quiznos still exists, but according to OwnAQuiznos.com, only 148 locations are operating across the U.S., with most concentrated in California, the Midwest and the South. Many shops are in airports and food court-style establishments around the country. There are also 183 shops internationally.

After the buyout of Quiznos' parent company, QCE LLC, High Bluff Capital Partners streamlined the brand for financial stability, with plans to grow. After the acquisition in 2018, Gerry Lopez, operating partner and executive chairman of High Bluff, explained, "We are excited about the acquisition. We have the commitment, industry knowledge and flexible capital to build on recent successes and drive future, sustainable growth."

Social media users participating in today's Quiznos conversations wish neighborhood locations would pop back up, tapping into early 2000s nostalgia and reliving their favorite orders from the chain. "The chicken carbonara was FIRE. I also loved the honey mustard chicken if I didn't want something heavy," said one person. "Their prime rib sandwich was damn good," stated another. "I miss Quiznos so much. I remember my order to this day, and their honey mustard was elite," exclaimed one more.

If you have a hankering for a Quiznos sub, it appears its open locations still offer the classic favorites from the early 2000s, in addition to some newbies like hot honey chicken and flatbread "sammies." You may have to take a road trip to find one.

As for the Spongmonkeys, if you are one of their few fans, you can follow along with their modern journey on their very own Instagram page. Sometimes nostalgia comes in a uniquely weird package.

Get to Know Jake Paul's Fiancée Jutta Leerdam, Who Just Made Olympic History

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:14pm

A month and a half after Anthony Joshuabroke his jaw on live TV and made him into an instant meme, Jake Paul had a vicarious taste of victory when his fiancée Jutta Leerdam made Olympic history.

Leerdam has been steadfastly in Paul's often-controversial corner for his boxing career, writing on Instagram in August 2023, "I’m so so proud of you. You have only been doing this sport for 3.5 years and make the biggest fights happen. You inspire me so much with your work ethic, the way you think big, and your crazy determination."

That pride is reciprocal. The influencer-turned-boxer was on hand to support Leerdam when she won the 1,000-meter speed skating gold medal and set an Olympic speed record at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. At the match on Feb. 9, 2026, as Leerdam crossed the finish line, she blew him a kiss in the stands, per the Associated Press. When Paul realized his future wife won gold, he began openly sobbing with joy.

Afterward, he posted an Instagram reel celebrating with Leerdam, picking her up as she bit her gold medal, captioning the clip, "We just witnessed one of the most important sporting moments ever ... Words can't describe how proud of you I am."

The Dutch stunner set a time record of 1 minute, 12.31 seconds in the 1,000-meter speed skating event at the Winter Olympics. (The actual full world record for the 1,000-meter speed skating time still belongs to Jordan Stolz of the United States with 1 minute, 5.37 seconds; the female world record for 1,000-meter speed skating is 1 minute, 11.61 seconds by Brittany Bowe, also of the United States.)

Influencer-turned boxer-turned Super Bowl halftime show critic Paul is clearly Leerdam's biggest cheerleader, and the beautiful blonde gives him a lot of reasons to simp for and stan her. Get to know Jake Paul's fiancée Jutta Leerdam.

He thinks he can do anything, but he won't get me’ ... but we really clicked in these two fast-paced worlds on a deep and super personal level. Since that moment, we have been inseparable.”

On May 9 of that year, Paul said in a video, “This whole thing with Tana is like escalating. I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s real, but it’s also not. But it also is, so it’s weird, man. I don’t know what it’s going to turn into. Stay tuned.”

Mongeau, similarly, answered the question of whether they were together with, “I don’t know. Sometimes.” However, right before their planned wedding date, she posted a tribute video to Paul and their relationship titled “I love you, Jake Paul.”

Paul and Mongeau “got married” in a televised wedding at Graffiti Mansion in Las Vegas on July 28, as promised. They even allowed fans to livestream it—for a fee of $49.99. But two weeks later, Mongeau admitted that it wasn’t a legal marriage and that they were taking the relationship “day by day.”

Throughout the rest of 2019, fans continued to speculate on their relationship status, until finally the couple announced they were taking a break in January 2020. (They never got back together.)

The Cardinal Zodiac Signs in Astrology: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:11pm

The cardinal signs of the zodiac in astrology are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. These signs are known for their ability to confront adversity, take initiative, and achieve success in their endeavors. They consistently emerge victorious, even when faced with difficult challenges. With their "can-do" attitude, they complete tasks efficiently and excel in any job they undertake. Read on to learn more about the modality of cardinal zodiac signs in astrology, what it means, and more in this ultimate guide by expert astrologer Lisa Stardust.

What are the cardinal signs?

Cardinal signs—Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn—are recognized as the go-getters of the zodiac. As the initiators of the four seasons, they excel at trailblazing and embarking on new beginnings. These visionaries transform their dreams into reality, inspiring not only themselves but also others to achieve greatness. Each cardinal sign is associated with a different element: Aries is cardinal fire, Cancer is cardinal water, Libra is cardinal air, and Capricorn is cardinal earth.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MODALITIES IN ASTROLOGY:

What do cardinal signs mean in astrology?

The term "cardinal" refers to a "primary" force and comes from the Latin word "cardinalis," which means "pivotal." In astrology, cardinal refers to a modality, or energetic influence, associated with the zodiac signs Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. There is one cardinal sign of each of the zodiacal elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Therefore, each sign has distinct attributes—Aries is passionate, Cancer is emotional, Libra emphasizes justice, and Capricorn is focused on business matters. However, despite their differences, a common theme among these star signs is their willingness to roll up their sleeves and get to work. Being active and busy is essential for these four zodiac signs, who are not afraid to take the lead, innovate, and set cultural trends.

Cardinal signs have an influence that goes beyond personality traits and attitudes; they also signify the beginning of each season. The Sun's entry into the cardinal zodiac signs marks the initiation of one of the seasons, which can be identified as either an equinox or a solstice. In the Northern Hemisphere, Aries marks the Spring Equinox, Cancer heralds the Summer Solstice, Libra initiates the Autumnal Equinox, and Capricorn signals the Winter Solstice. Conversely, in the Southern Hemisphere, Aries corresponds to the Autumnal Equinox, Cancer brings in the Winter Solstice, Libra begins the Spring Equinox, and Capricorn marks the Summer Solstice.

How do cardinal signs differ from fixed/mutable signs?

Cardinal zodiacs represent the initiation of each season, while fixed signs are situated in the heart of each season, and mutable signs bring each season to a close. The cardinal signs—Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn—are known for their ability to inspire and spark new ideas. Fixed signs—Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius—focus on executing tasks and fulfilling responsibilities. Lastly, mutable signs—Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces—are characterized by their adaptability and ability to complete cycles, functioning in the transitional phases between seasons. Many astrologers believe that cardinal signs are the "strongest" because they constantly strive for growth and aim to succeed in their endeavors. As a result, they tend to invest their energy in ensuring that projects and relationships begin with enthusiasm, determination, and vigor, with their primary goal being to achieve success.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)- Cardinal Fire

Element: Fire

Ruling Planet:Mars

Keywords: Energetic, independent, active, passionate, direct

MostCompatible with: Leo, Sagittarius, Libra

Famous Aries:Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon, Pharrell Williams

Aries individuals are known for their innate drive and high energy, often taking on more responsibilities than any other sign can manage and completing tasks at top speed. However, their fast-paced nature—as the first sign of the zodiac and representing the fire element—can sometimes make them seem impulsive. Their direct communication style adds to this impression. But once you look beyond the surface of their unique personality, you'll discover that they are capable of loving deeply and acting swiftly when they sense the right vibe.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22) - Cardinal Water

Element: Water

Ruling Planet:Moon

Keywords: Nurturing, emotional, intuitive, protective, sentimental

MostCompatible with: Scorpio, Pisces, Capricorn

Famous Cancers:Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Tom Cruise, Margot Robbie, Meryl Streep

Cancer is the second cardinal sign and the first water sign in the zodiac wheel. People born under this sign are often sentimental and tender, frequently going to great lengths to protect themselves and their loved ones from harm, even if it means being a bit temperamental. This nurturing sign always puts its best foot forward, especially in professional settings. Cancers can nurture and support those they care about, even while managing their own challenges, because they can handle a lot. However, it’s wise not to stand in their way, because the crab can and will fight back when pushed too far.

Libra is the third cardinal zodiac sign, bringing the mark of Autumn.

Libra (September 23 to October 22) - Cardinal Air

Element: Air

Ruling Planet: Venus

Keywords: Charming, harmonious, artistic, justice-oriented, social

MostCompatible with: Gemini, Aquarius, Aries

Famous Libras:Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, Doja Cat, Serena Williams, Jenna Ortega

Libra is the third cardinal sign of the zodiac, represented by the element of air. They are thinkers who find common ground, allowing others to be nonjudgmental. Libras possess a strong sense of justice, providing wisdom and insight into what is right. As an ethical sign, they are also artistic, influenced by Venus. This connection with Venus allows Libras to assess trends and what is considered popular and appealing. They excel in communication and forming partnerships that stand the test of time, making them essential to how we relate to others and build connections.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19) - Cardinal Earth

Element: Earth

Ruling Planet:Saturn

Keywords: Ambitious, disciplined, pragmatic, responsible, hardworking

MostCompatible with: Taurus, Virgo, Cancer

Famous Capricorns:John Legend, Timothée Chalamet, Michelle Obama, LeBron James, Dolly Parton

As the last cardinal sign of the zodiac and an earth sign in the astrological wheel, Capricorns tend to exhibit a certain rigidity that drives them to both work hard and play hard. Often regarded as the most stubborn of the signs, sea goats are deeply committed to their pursuits, which makes them unlikely to stray from the beaten path. However, Capricorns possess notable strengths as well. They often excel as CEOs, easily climbing the corporate ladder, and they tend to be reflective and sentimental individuals. At their core, they are compassionate, even if their austere demeanor comes across first. Their care for others runs deep, which is why they can be particularly tough on those they love or see potential in.

'Heated Rivalry' Official Merch May Be Sold Out, but These Etsy Styles Are in Stock (and Selling Fast)

Heated Rivalry practically came out of nowhere and somehow turned into a phenomenon—the kind that sneaks up on you and then suddenly takes over your entire internet feed. One minute, people were casually recommending it, and the next, fans were feral, quoting lines, making edits, and refreshing the official site as if it were their full-time job. The result? Merch is selling out in literal minutes. Blink, and it's gone. Five minutes? Generous.

The obsession feels very KPop Demon Hunters, but for the grown-up crowd. It isn't just about loving the story; it's about wanting to live in the story a little longer. Fans want shirts, prints, mugs, stickers—anything that lets them signal to other fans, "Yep, I was emotionally changed by this too." Or, really, just to let everyone know which character they're rooting for.

So what's a Heated Rivalry fan to do when the official merch is sold out? Hit up Etsy, of course. These aren't what I'd consider dupes per se, but they are fun pieces that match the energy of the series and its characters. Take this Embroidered Heated Rivalry Quarter-Zip Sweatshirt, for example, which can be customized in several different ways. (And is selling quickly, for the record.)

After choosing the color, style and size, you move on to personalization, like whether you're choosing Hollander 24, Rozanov 81 or Hunter21.

It probably goes without saying that Heated Rivalry fans are smitten with this item.

"Omg it's perfect," said one shopper in the reviews section. "I cannot wait to wear this to the hockey games I'm going to this month!!!!"

The second season of Heated Rivalry isn't expected to start filming until summer 2026, with episodes likely premiering in spring 2027. For fans, this feels like an extraordinary amount of time to wait for what happens next with these characters—because it is. However, showrunner Jacob Tierney has mentioned in several interviews that he has no interest in rushing season two's development—instead asking fans for their patience while the cast and crew work on another high-quality season.

3-Time Grammy Winner Emerges as Favorite for 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 3:02pm

Now that Bad Bunny has wrapped up his history-making Super BowlHalftime Show performance this year, fans all over the world are already speculating who might be next year's pick.

The 2027 Super Bowl is slated to take place next year on Valentine's Day at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and the sports betting publication Covers released an article last night sharing the different stars that fans are hoping will perform at halftime that day.

Among the top-predicted artists are multi-Grammy winner Taylor Swift, actress and singer Ariana Grande, rapper and producer A$AP Rocky, New York rapper Cardi B and more.

All of these artists have the potential to perform legendary halftime shows. But the musician who took home the top spot for highest odds to headline next year's show is none other than the three-time Grammy Award winner and former child star Miley Cyrus, who sits at the top of the FanDuel-curated list.

"Cyrus offers a little something for everyone in her music, ranging from a country-folk feel, a rocking Joan Jett vibe, to a modern Top 40 pop sound," Covers wrote in their article.

Covers also mentioned that Cyrus' appearance on Lil Wayne's 2025 album Tha Carter VI would be grounds for potentially inviting the rapper to guest perform alongside Cyrus at the Super Bowl. However, despite outlets like Rolling Stone reporting that Cyrus would be featured on Lil Wayne's album before it was released, Cyrus is notably absent from any of the tracks.

Cyrus is a singer-songwriter and actress who rose to fame early in her career as a child when she starred in the hit Disney Channel TV series Hannah Montana. Since breaking out of her Disney days, however, Cyrus has gone on to accomplish a lot within the entertainment industry across music, television, film and more.

The multi-hyphenate artist has accumulated three major Grammy Award wins, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her 2023 hit "Flowers," and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her feature on Beyoncé's "II Most Wanted" (2024). Her most recent visual album Something Beautiful (2025) was also nominated in this year's Grammy Awards for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Most recently, Cyrus produced the original song "Dream As One" for the Avatar: Fire and Ash movie that came out in December 2025.

Cyrus remains to be one of pop music's most legendary performers, and while it is definitely way too early to know for sure, it seems like people have high hopes that the NFL and Jay-Z's Roc Nation — who are the ones who decide on who performs during the Super Bowl Halftime Show — will select her to take on the largest stage in the United States next February.

'80s New Wave Group Shares Tour Update With First Special Performance in 40 Years

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 2:59pm

Q: Are we not men? A: We are DEVO…and we are doubling our 2026 tour dates!

Devo—who formed in the early 1970s as an artistic collective, becoming one of the most visually and sonically influential groups of the 1980s and beyond—announced on Monday (Fe. 9) that they were extending their 2026 Mutate, Don't Stagnate tour into June, ending with a show at the Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

What makes this performance so special is that it's the first time Devo has played Connecticut in over 40 years! The last time the group played "The Constitution State" was on November 12, 1982, at the Agora Ballroom in West Hartford.

View this post on Instagram

According to Setlist.fm, Devo 2.0—the all-kids offshoot playing Devo songs—performed at Buckley Elementary School in Manchester, Connecticut, in 2006. But this 2026 date is the first time that the adult Devo has made the trek.

DEVO formed in Akron, Ohio, in 1973 while Gerald Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh attended Kent State. First playing around with the concept of "de-evolution," the trio took the concept quite seriously following the Kent State Massacre in 1970, in which the National Guard opened fire on anti-war student protesters, killing four.

"DEVO was a protest band, but yet we weren't The Clash, and we weren't Sex Pistols," Mark Mothersbaugh told Parade in an EXCLUSIVE interview in September." We weren't doing the very most obvious kind of in-your-face protesting, because we saw that not being successful if you were really trying to change something."

Related: Devo Frontman Didn’t Think ‘Whip It’ Hitmakers Would Even Be a Rock Band at First (Exclusive)

We became more about subversion," he said. "We began looking for other methods to transmit our message, and we adopted more commercial techniques, especially Madison Avenue techniques."

DEVO—having recruited Mark's brother Bob Casale, Gerald's brother Bob Casale, and drummer Alan Myers—released their debut album, Q: Are WE Not Men? A: We Are Devo! in 1978. With their industrial yellow jumpsuits, robotic movements, and aggressive synths, DEVO was punk before punk, new wave before new wave—and, with their interest in short-form films, DEVO was MTV before there was MTV.

"It was 1974," Mark told Parade, "and I remember thinking, it's been ten years, rock and roll's got to be over by now. What's next? And we thought sound and vision because the new technology was allowing proletariats to have their hands on VHS machines, and sound and vision was for real."

Though DEVO formed in the 1970s, the band rose to fame and icon status in 1980. Freedom of Choice solidified the fire-engine-red "Energy domes" as their signature look. The album's second single, "Whip It," reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it part of the '80s soundtrack.

Their videos for "(Can't Get No) Satisfaction," "Girl U Want," "Beautiful World," "Love Without Anger" and "Peek A Boo" were so ingrained in the new wave counterculture, "Weird Al" Yankovicwas able to seemingly honor them with his style-parody, "Dare to Be Stupid."

DEVO experienced ups and downs as the decade progressed. In 1990, the band released an album that led to its hiatus, and they wouldn't record another LP for 20 years. Thankfully, they have returned to warn us against de-evolution and to mutate, not stagnate.

Bond Girl Maryam d’Abo Is a Stunning Blonde at 65 After Reflecting on Lack of Confidence in the Role

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 2:50pm

Maryam d'Abo was just 26 when she became a Bond girl in The Living Daylights. But at that young age, she wasn't feeling very confident in herself.

The British beauty tackled the role of Kara Milovy, a Czech cellist sniper who falls in love with 007, who was played by the handsome Timothy Dalton in the 1987 film. It was the first of Dalton's two turns as the legendary James Bond. But in a revealing new interview, d'Abo opened up about how the experience changed her life, and not always for the better.

While filming the movie was a ton of fun (“It was like a big family,” d'Abo shared), she lived with the fear that she wasn't good enough.

“I take responsibility for not having had enough confidence,” she told the Guardian. “I was quite shy. I hadn’t been a child actor. But I’m not blaming Bond for screwing up my career. I’ll never regret it.”

She also posed for Playboy, but later said her perspective on the decision had shifted since then.

“I wouldn't do those pictures now," she told PEOPLE in 1987. "I've learned a lot since then.”

Here's a look at d'Abo in the hit film, which made millions at the box office:

She's Not One for Plastic Surgery

With age, d'Abo has found confidence in herself, which also means being comfortable with her looks. She recently shared with the Daily Mail that plastic surgery is simply "not her thing."

"I have not grown up with that world. I grew up with a world of wonderful actresses like Jeanne Moreau and Simone Signoret who aged naturally. I wouldn't dare go there!" she shared.

In her younger days, d'Abo said she "never saw myself as beautiful in the times when that's how people saw me. You don't go walking around thinking, 'Oh, I'm beautiful!"

At 65, it's safe to say d'Abo looks better than ever and carries the sense of confidence she always deserved.

D'Abo Has Found Her Groove

While d'Abo didn't have the confidence she needed in her twenties, she eventually found it. She went on to make a 2002 documentary, Bond Girls Are Forever, in which she spoke to women about their experiences on 007 films. She's also still thriving as an actress, and currently stars in Spanish Oranges, a play by Alba Arikha that describes itself as "a searing exploration of modern intimacy and the lies we tell on the page, on the stage, and to each other."

Savannah Guthrie Shares Update: 'We Are at an Hour of Desperation, and We Need Your Help'

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 2:49pm

Savannah Guthrie has taken to Instagram today with a raw, emotional message as her family continues to look for Savannah's mother, Nancy Guthrie, and live through what she called "another week of this nightmare." In a video posted to her account, Savannah spoke directly to followers about the ongoing search for her missing mother, thanking supporters while making an urgent plea for help.

Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31, 2026, at her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson, Arizona, after being dropped off by a family member. The next morning, when she didn't show up for a scheduled church service, her family became alarmed and reported her missing on February 1, 2026.

Evidence at the scene raised serious concerns, including blood found on her front porch, and her home security camera appeared disabled around the time she disappeared. Her pacemaker also stopped transmitting, suggesting something unusual occurred during the early morning hours.

Law enforcement officials, including the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI, quickly classified the residence as a crime scene, believing she did not leave on her own. Investigators suspect she was taken against her will. And, according to Savannah's latest post, the family still believes that Nancy is out there.

"Hi there, everybody. I wanted to come on and just share a few thoughts as we enter into another week of this nightmare. I just want to say, first of all, thank you so much for all of the prayers and the love that we have felt—my sister, my brother, and I. And that our mom has felt, because we believe that, somehow, some way, she is feeling these prayers. And that God is lifting her, even in this moment, in this darkest place.

We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock, trying to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken, and we don’t know where. And we need your help.

So I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers but, no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement. We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help."

Despite an intense search involving local, state, and federal authorities, no suspects or persons of interest have been identified, and there's no verified proof of life for Nancy.

Multiple alleged ransom notes demanding cryptocurrency have circulated in connection with the case, though authorities are investigating their authenticity and have found no definitive proof that they came from genuine kidnappers. A bitcoin ransom account reportedly set up hasn't received payments as of yet.

Nancy is considered a vulnerable adult due to her limited mobility and need for daily medication, making her continued absence particularly concerning to family and investigators alike.

Savannah and her siblings have made public appeals for help and communication with anyone who might be involved, urging the safe return of their mother.

Thirty Years Later: Monica Lewinsky Opens Up About Lingering Fear

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 2:49pm

It's been 30 years since Monica Lewinsky became a household name, due to her affair with President Bill Clinton that led to his impeachment. Since then, she's worked hard to reclaim her voice.

With her podcast, Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky, she has conversations with others who have reclaimed the narrative created for them. During a recent discussion with Jameela Jamil, Lewinsky revealed that, while she's "more confident" in herself, the trauma from the past still weighs heavily on her.

"Every time I'm able to be more myself in the world and have it reflected back to me that that's what's been received, I think that I shed skin of trauma for myself from the older days," she explained.

"I still live in a lot of fear," she continued. "It's like... I don't know that this will make sense. I know it will make sense; it just may sound crazy. Which is almost like an earthquake will happen, and everything I've built in the last 11 years -- oh gosh, it's making me emotional -- will be taken away again, and I'll somehow find myself without purpose or without an income. So I think in that sense, it's just trying to hold on to what's now and not what was."

After some time had passed from the Clinton scandal, Lewinsky came out as an anti-bullying advocate. In 2015, she gave a powerful TED talk on cyberbullying, and years later, she explained in a Vanity Fair piece how the #MeToo movement helped her feel less alone.

"I’m beginning (just beginning) to consider the implications of the power differentials that were so vast between a president and a White House intern," Lewinsky wrote at the time. "I’m beginning to entertain the notion that in such a circumstance the idea of consent might well be rendered moot."

In a recent interview with The Times, she spoke more about how, after years of saying their relationship was consensual, her views have changed.

"This was a gross abuse of power. Full stop," she admitted. "That doesn’t mean I didn’t make mistakes, that I didn’t make wrong choices, that my behaviour didn’t hurt other people. But at the heart of it was a gross abuse of power.”

Savannah Guthrie’s Mom: Former FBI Agent Warns What the Bureau Knows Is Just the 'Tip of the Iceberg’ (Exclusive)

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 2:39pm

We are more than one week into the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, and it seems the public has more questions than answers. Authorities say that Nancy, 84, may have been abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night on Sunday, Feb. 1. Her location and the person or persons behind her disappearance are still unknown.

Parade spoke with former FBI Special Agent Bryanna Fox, a professor at the University of South Florida (USF) in the Department of Criminology and the co-director of the Center for Justice and Research and Policy at USF, about the case.

"This is like an iceberg," Fox tells Parade. "The amount we know that law enforcement knows is the tip of the iceberg. The rest is below the surface, and they do that on purpose."

"I think that was one of the reasons that [Sheriff Chris Nanos] has decided to go from talking to the media a lot to basically only doing press conferences when there's a major development, because there is no benefit to sharing so much information with the public," Fox continues.

She explains that telling the public extra details in a case like this doesn't help find Nancy, and that's the task at hand.

"The only thing they care about right now is finding her safe," Fox says. "Any detail that's released that could potentially compromise where she is, or her safety, or the prosecution of these people. Why would you think that risk? It could backfire."

Fox believes that the unverified ransom notes are a good example of this because one allegedly mentioned an Apple Watch after Sheriff Nanos noted that Nancy had owned one.

"There are details in the ransom notes that could potentially have been used to validate their authenticity. Things like the broken flood light and the Apple Watch," Fox explains.

"Somebody's paying attention very closely and could have inferred she had an iPhone and an Apple Watch. We're just taking a wild guess, right? And that could have been included in the note because of a small detail they never thought was gonna matter was released," Fox says, referring to some of the early details of the case that were shared publicly by Nanos.

"It's the reason why the FBI says absolutely nothing unless it's absolutely necessary and urgent. It's because they don't take those risks," Fox tells me.

Fox stressed that the FBI doesn't leave stones unturned and that revisiting crime scenes or people's homes where a victim may have been is just part of the process.

"They do things to avoid risk," she reiterates. "So if there's a risk that someone can tamper with the scene, or there's any doubt that a person could be a suspect, the FBI's general policy is search it, photograph it, document it and do it as soon as possible, because you will only get one shot at that crime scene, the way it is."

Catherine O'Hara's Cause of Death Was Just Revealed Following a 'Brief Illness'

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 2:26pm

New details have come to light after Catherine O'Hara's sudden death on Jan. 30.

Following a "brief illness," the beloved Hollywood icon, best known for her roles in Home Alone and Schitt's Creek, died at the age of 71, leaving many fans and close friends shocked.

Ten days after her passing, the cause of death has been revealed, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office report underscoring a private cancer battle.

First obtained by TMZ on Feb. 9, the immediate cause of death was listed as a pulmonary embolism. In addition to the blood clot in the lungs, the report lists rectal cancer as the underlying cause.

Per the Daily Mail, this is the first time it was confirmed that the actress was battling cancer.

The certificate also revealed that the Canadian actress was cremated.

At the time of her death, the Creative Artists Agency confirmed that she died in L.A. after a battle with a brief illness.

Reports also revealed she was transported to a nearby hospital in "serious condition" that same morning. Additional details were not immediately available.

In the hours following the devastating news, tributes from many of her collaborators and other Hollywood stars poured in, including her on-screen son, Macaulay CulkinThe Last of Us lead Pedro Pascal and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice actor Justin Theroux.

The Emmy-winning actresses' screen work spanned five-decades across both film and television, bringing countless laughs and tears through many now-iconic roles.

However, when asked what role she wanted to be remembered by, it wasn't her on-screen work that came to mind, with the actress telling TMZ in 2024 that it would have to be her role as a mother and wife.

O'Hara is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bo Welch, and their two sons, Matthew and Luke, who celebrated her life and legacy with a private ceremony.

Her death came less than six months after her final public appearances, as she attended the Emmy Awards with Welch in Sept. 2025, where she was nominated in two categories—Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Patty Leigh in The Studio and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for portraying Gail Lynden in three episodes of The Last of Us
