Psychologists Reveal That People Who Let Others Go Ahead of Them in Line Share These 7 Unique Traits
You're in a grocery store, and someone looks like they are in a rush, has a screaming child or only has one item compared to your cart full of food. Do you stay in your spot in line or let them go in front of you? Well, it turns out that if you're more likely to do the latter, it may reveal specific traits about you.
"Everyday behaviors can be small windows into how we relate to ourselves and other people," says Dr. Ernesto Lira de la Rosa, Ph.D., a psychologist and Hope for Depression Research Foundation media advisor. "Most of us are not consciously thinking about our values or personality traits when we are standing in line, but our choices still reflect patterns."
Importantly, noticing whether you'll let an individual go in front of you in line in certain situations or all the time isn't a morality test, like some people might make it out to be. Still, it can be helpful to think about.
"Paying attention to those patterns can help us understand what motivates us, what stresses us out and how we tend to show up in social situations," Dr. Lira de la Rosa says. "That awareness matters because it gives us more flexibility. We can keep the behaviors that feel aligned with who we want to be and rethink the ones that leave us feeling drained or overlooked."
Letting others go in front of you in line seems polite on the surface, and can be. However, psychologists say it can also reveal some traits that aren't so desirable and may actually hold you back. To help you reflect, psychologists share seven unique traits that people who let others go in front of them in line often share. Plus, they weigh in on whether or not you should prioritize this kind gesture.

The answer isn't so clear-cut, psychologists say. There are certainly times when it's polite and even socially preferable to let others go in front of you in line. However, there are times when it's best to hold your spot and let the other person wait their turn.
Dr. Brandy Smith, Ph.D, a licensed psychologist with Thriveworks, suggests yielding to someone else if they:
- Are struggling
- Have fewer items
- Remind you of someone special
- Seem like they are in a rush
She adds that another great reason to let someone go ahead of you in line is if you simply want to do a good deed. It's like paying for the next person's coffee, but free.
Sometimes, it's best to maintain a first-come, first-served mindset, though. She does not recommend letting someone cut in front of you if:
- It adds to your distress
- You are working on people-pleasing tendencies
- It doesn't make sense (For instance, they have a full basket and you only have two items)

7 Traits of People Who Let Others Go First in Line, According to PsychologistsNejron | Dreamstime.com
1. EmpathyEmpathy is a common trait and superpower of people who let others go ahead of them in line.
"Many people who let others go ahead are highly attuned to how other people might be feeling," Dr. Lira de la Rosa shares. "They may quickly notice signs of stress, fatigue or urgency and imagine themselves in that person’s position. That emotional awareness can naturally lead to kind, accommodating behavior."
In hard times, we're often told to "look for the helpers." You may be one yourself if you let others cut in front of you, even just once.
"Someone who is willing to do something to make someone else’s situation better is connected to wanting to be helpful," Dr. Smith shares. "It could be a momentary connection of wanting to be helpful in that moment or to that person or to that person’s plight, or it may be a broader sense of the person wanting to be helpful in general."
Dr. Smith says that people who yield their spot in line are often attuned not only to the needs of others but also to their own. They're able to think broadly and on the fly.
"The person is taking into consideration their circumstances and situation and deciding they have more time for this task to be completed than they deem the other person may have," Dr. Smith tells Parade. "By taking into consideration self and others, the person is able to do something that works 'for the greater good.'"

Life as an empath can go too far and morph into people-pleasing. Your inner voice may pressure you to give up your spot in line, even if you have places to go or fewer items in your cart.
"For some, stepping aside in line is driven by discomfort with saying no or fear of being seen as rude," Dr. Lira de la Rosa says. "While the intention is usually good, it can sometimes mean putting other people’s comfort ahead of their own needs."
Speaking of discomfort, you may have a ton of it around conflict.
"Standing their ground in line can feel uncomfortable if they think being assertive is the same as confrontational," Dr. Holly Schiff, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist, points out. "They want to reduce their own internal anxiety and let someone go ahead of them."
This one can be a sign of self-awareness or low self-worth.
"Some people genuinely are not in a rush and do not mind waiting," Dr. Lira de la Rosa states. "Others may be used to downplaying their own time or needs, even when there is no real reason to do so. Over time, this can become a habit rather than a conscious decision."

If you regularly let others go ahead of you in line, you are more likely to have a go-with-the-flow mindset, or at least be OK with making slight, sudden pivots.
"They are comfortable adapting in the moment," Dr. Schiff says. "They can regulate their emotions and tolerate minor inconveniences if they pop up."

Millennials Feel 'Old' After Hearing Hipster Duo's Song in a Super Bowl Ad
During Super Bowl Sunday, fans saw a spot where Serena Williamscelebrated losing 34 pounds with the help of a GLP-1. But certain fans, those who hung out at 28 Kent or Secret Project Robot in Brooklyn during the late 2000s, were shocked at what they heard: Was that Sleigh Bells in a Super Bowl commercial?
It was. As Williams praised the effects of Ro, a raucous guitar riff and an explosive drumbeat played. Fans immediately identified it as "Riot Rhythm," a song from Sleigh Bells' debut album, Treats.
"Can't believe there was a Sleigh Bells song in a GLP-1 commercial with Serena Williams," one fan on Bluesky wrote." "Serena Williams *AND* f--kin Sleigh Bells in one commercial!?!? My gawddd," added another. "I pretty much said SLEIGH BELLS," wrote one user, referencing the Tiffany Pollard "Beyonce?" meme.
"I did not expect to hear a Sleigh Bells song in a Super Bowl commercial in the year of our lord 2026 ngl," wrote another fan.
However, there was a growing realization: Millennials have aged to the point where their music is now being used in advertising. "They're selling [Ro] with Sleigh Bells songs now," said one user who realized they were so "old." "Happy Sleigh Bells is getting paid, devastating to hear the music in a weight loss ad," said another.
Of course, not everyone was down. Ben Collins, the youthful CEO of The Onion, was hyped. "Sleigh Bells in a Super Bowl ad. 2010 Williamsburg is back, baby!" he wrote, referring to the Northern Brooklyn neighborhood that was the center of the hipster movement in the 2000s. "Sabrina Carpenter is gonna start dating a carpenter in a deep V! We back up!"

Sleigh Bells consists of Alexis Krauss and Derek E. Miller (once of Poison The Well). The two formed in mid-2008, posted their first demos on MySpace six months later, played College Music Journal shows in late 2009, before signing with an indie label in 2010 to release Treats.
Blending noise, hip hop, R&B and metal, Sleigh Bells developed a "noise pop" sound over the next fifteen years. They released their sixth album, Bunk Becky Birthday Boy, in 2025.
"I think it's truly, like on a genetic level, I'm attracted to extremes," Miller told Pop Mattersin 2025. "So if two is good, four is better. Let's try eight. How about 16? Whenever there's a contradiction occurring, that's when it gets interesting. I feel like Sleigh Bells encapsulates that, just all of the extremes. It's cartoonish, it's exaggerated, it's over the top, and it's a lot."

By promoting Christopher (James Drew Dean) and having him do all the dirty work of disposing the evidence, Pioneer Electric hoped they could wash their hands clean of it. Unluckily for them, Christopher has a conscience.
Henry Asks Joseph for AdviceJoseph (Viv Leacock) enters the church where he finds Henry (Martin Cummins) sitting in one of the pews. Henry offers to leave but Joseph says there’s no need so Henry offers to help instead. Lee tells Gwe they can go visit him today if she wants. They head to Buxton and stop to gas up the car when Gwen gets anxious and doesn’t want to go anymore. As they head back to Hope Valley, Lee makes a pit stop at his favorite fishing hole and asks Gwen if they can stop for awhile to fish. While there, he gets Gwen talking and she confesses that when her mom was sick she visited her every day in the hospital and every one said she’d get better but she didn’t and she died. Gwen’s afraid her father will die also since he’s been in the hospital for so long. Lee assures her that her father is not sick the way her mother was and that he will be ecstatic to see her. This put her at ease. She catches a fish and asks if they can go see her father and they do. When they arrive home, Gwen retires to bed and Lee tells Rosemary how Gwen and her father were happy to see each other and they spent hours talking. It also gave Lee inspiration to spend more time with Goldie (Ellie Sweiss).

Bill and Georgie suggest Nathan put his money where his mouth is and use the polygraph. The kids overhear and want to go also. As Mountie Briggs asks questions, Nathan is put in the hot seat whether or not he thinks Elizabeth’s lemon curd is his favorite dessert. When he says yes, the polygraph shows he’s lying. Nathan declares his love for Elizabeth by saying, “I love your lemon curd because I love you!” which prompts Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich), or LJ to say, “Does that mean you’re going to marry my momma?” Before Nathan can answer, Christopher enters.

Christopher Comes CleanChristopher confesses to everything he knows. There was a transformer there where the fire started. He was told by his superiors, Shelby Whitaker and Patrick McDougall, chief technician to remove it and dispose of it in the river, but he buried it instead. Bill says the maps Pioneer Electric provided shows the transformer was nearly two miles away, but Christopher tells them that the map is a new one and backdated so it’s fraud on top of arson. Nathan tells Christopher that he’ll need to show him exactly where he buried that transformer.

Proposal WatchThis week is the closest we’ve gotten to a proposal ever, but still no ring. After the lie detector with Nathan in the hot seat, he comes to see Elizabeth the next morning to tell her his hesitation wasn’t because of what he wants with her or dreams of with her. He takes her hand to his heart and tells her to feel his heartbeat. “This is how I feel about you,” he says. “Can we just leave it there for now?” Let’s hope “now” doesn’t last too long!
Fans Lose It Over Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Show Setlist
Bad Bunny dominated the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show stage.
The Latin artists show drew in plenty of buzz, along with its fair share of criticism, but up on that stage, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio proved that he wasn't listening to the haters and instead, proudly celebrating his culture.
Ahead of the show, there was plenty of anticipation among fans about which songs he would perform, with many even making predictions about the setlist and possible guest appearances.
Bad Bunny's performance comes following a historic moment in his career, fresh off sweeping at the Grammy Awards, where his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language record to win Album of the Year, so naturally a handful of those songs found their way into the halftime show, including "NUEVAYoL," "DtMF" “BAILE INoLVIDABLE”and "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii."
With a catalog that spans reggaeton hits, introspective ballads, salsa-infused tracks and several songs that have taken global charts by storm, there was plenty to choose from—and a lot to fit in.

And fans were left pleasantly surprised by what made the cut, including many of his classics and crowd-pleasers, along with the opener, “Tití Me Preguntó."
With the stage set amongst tall grass at Levi's Stadium, he was accompanied by a live brass band, plenty of dancers, and even cameos from Jessica Alba, Karol G, Pedro Pascal, and more, dancing in "La Casita."
His show even featured two special guest performers—LadyGaga and Ricky Martin—as he spread powerful messages of unity and love.
Social media erupted in celebration, as the frenzy celebrated his expansive body of work.
"THE SET??? THE PRODUCTION? THE SETLIST?? BADBUNNY YOU HAVE THE BEST HALFTIME SHOW," one wrote on X, as another echoed, "the stage design, the setlist, now everyone wants to be latino, the guests… i love you bad bunny you had one single job and you did it more than perfect i adore it."
"Puerto Rico in the house and the whole world at their feet. @sanbenito told Santa Clara and the world how beautiful it feels to be and live as a Latino. Flags of nations paraded by, and among them my México. And what a crazy setlist! Bad Bunny yes, he did make history and yes, he absolutely killed it…" someone else expressed.
"seriously, so emotional!!!!! bad bunny’s setlist was perfect," one fan noted, as another underscored, "With a very Latin presentation at the Super Bowl, this was the HISTORIC setlist from Bad Bunny that called for Latin unity."
"BadBunny’s setlist has more vibes than my whole life.” (He’s mixing salsa, reggaeton, and culture — this ain’t grandma’s halftime music," someone else shouted.
Others weren't totally pleased, expressing that they expected more songs, but still enjoying the show and feeling immensely proud, writing, "Disappointed at his setlist but also not disappointed but lowkey disappointed but I enjoyed it. Bad Bunny Benito babyyyyyy."
Ahead of the Super Bowl performance, the 31-year-old expressed that he's definitely excited about the show, but he's even more excited about what it means for his people, stating, "I'm excited, but at the same time, I feel more excited about the people than even me -- my family, my friends, the people who have always believed in me.
"This moment, the culture -- that's what makes these shows special," he added.
And now we know he wasn't joking when he said it was "going to be a huge party" and that the world was "gonna dance" and have a "good time.”

She shared the sad news publicly on her Instagram account, adding a meaningful message in tribute to her grandfather and a montage of memories from before his death. Finnie began the emotional note, "’ll be loving you always ❤️🕊️🙏🏾."
"It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share — after 94 years of extraordinary love, strength, brilliance, and wisdom, my grandfather Thomas D. Williams has passed," she went on.
Finnie's message continued, sharing kind words about Williams while also referring to her late grandmother, saying, "I know he is in heaven with Nana, watching over our family and continuing to guide us as he always has. No, Kid Rock Isn't Banned From California — But Here's Why Everyone Thinks He Is
If you logged onto social media this weekend and saw people claiming Kid Rock had been “banned” from California, you weren’t alone in doing a double take. Here’s the reality: he hasn’t been banned. But a viral post made it easy to think he was.
On Saturday, February 7, the Governor Newsom Press Office account posted on X (formerly Twitter), resharing coverage from Complex about the Kid Rock–led Rock the Country festival losing performers and canceling a stop in South Carolina.
The caption read: “KID ROCK IS BANNED FROM CALIFORNIA. AND NOW HE IS BEING BANNED IN MORE PLACES. TERRIBLE MUSIC. WHY IS HE SO ANGRY?”
KID ROCK IS BANNED FROM CALIFORNIA. AND NOW HE IS BEING BANNED IN MORE PLACES. TERRIBLE MUSIC. WHY IS HE SO ANGRY? https://t.co/AZWkwXb2w2
— Governor Newsom Press Office (@GovPressOffice) February 7, 2026Reactions came fast. Many users called the post misleading or flat-out false, and in a literal sense, they were right to question it. There has been no executive order, law, or legal action banning Kid Rock — whose real name is Robert Ritchie — from the Golden State.
Part of the confusion comes from a basic legal reality that isn’t always obvious: a governor can’t simply ban a U.S. citizen from entering a state. The Constitution protects “the right to travel” freely between states, and courts have repeatedly treated that freedom as a fundamental right. A performer could be barred from a specific venue, or a private event could cancel a booking, but banning someone from an entire state is not something a governor can just decide to do.
So how did we get here?
Kid Rock has been in the news for several reasons at once, which made the viral claim easier to believe. In recent weeks, his Rock the Country festival tour — an eight-city summer series co-headlined by Jason Aldean — hit serious turbulence when artists began dropping from the lineup one after another.
Ludacris's team told Rolling Stone his inclusion was "a mix-up. Lines got crossed, and he wasn’t supposed to be on [the poster].” Country artists Morgan Wade and Carter Faith exited shortly after, with Faith telling a fan on social media, "I'm not anymore!"
Then Shinedown became the fourth act to pull out, posting a statement on X that read in part: "Our band's purpose is to unite, not divide." Hours later, the festival's Anderson, South Carolina stop — scheduled for July 25–26 — was canceled entirely. The festival itself hasn't been scrapped, with seven other dates still listed, but the optics were hard to ignore.

— SHINEDOWN (@Shinedown) February 6, 2026Meanwhile, Kid Rock was also making headlines as the headliner of Turning Point USA's All-American Halftime Show, a conservative alternative to Bad Bunny's official Super Bowl LX halftime performance.
THE LINEUP FOR THE ALL-AMERICAN HALFTIME SHOW IS HERE! 🔥

The show, billed as a celebration of "faith, family, and freedom," drew its own wave of scrutiny when social media users resurfaced lyrics from Kid Rock's 2001 track "Cool, Daddy Cool."
The song — which, ironically, appeared on the soundtrack to the children's movie Osmosis Jones — contains the line: "Young ladies, young ladies, I like 'em underage, see some say that's statutory / But I say it's mandatory." As the San Francisco Chronicle reported, the lyrics went viral, with critics pointing to what they called hypocrisy in positioning Kid Rock as the face of a "faith and family" event. Kid Rock didn’t directly address the controversy, instead sharing a Kobe Bryant quote on social media about "learning to love the hate."
View this post on InstagramIt was against this backdrop that Newsom’s press office dropped the “banned” post — not as a new announcement, but as the latest chapter in a satirical bit that has been running since September 2025. That’s when the account posted an all-caps message claiming California would “indefinitely suspend” Kid Rock from performing in the state because of his “horrific music.” A fact-check published at the time confirmed there was never any real action behind the words.
'General Hospital' Reveals Kirsten Storms’ Maxie Return Airdate
Fans have been waiting for word on Kirsten Storms’ return as Maxie Jones on General Hospital, and now the actress’s airdate back on screen has been revealed.
According to ABC’s official spoilers for General Hospital, Storms is set to return to the daytime drama later this week.
Storms previously announced her temporary exit from the ABC soap in July 2025, sharing a video on Instagram explaining that she was relocating to Tennessee with her daughter. “I’m very excited to be making Tennessee my home! I can’t wait to return to GH, once Harper and I are settled in our new town,” the actress wrote.
View this post on InstagramThe actress later clarified that health concerns also played a role in her time away, explaining that she had undergone testing related to a brain aneurysm. “I wanted to post this because even though my brain seems to be sorta lowkey rebelling against me, it does allow me to understand that we’ve all got times when things aren’t great. If we can, we will do our best to do what is best for ourselves and loved ones. Since I knew what an aneurysm was, the scan in January majorly freaked me out. A few days after I was discharged from the hospital, someone created a blog post that said I was in the hospital that weekend because I tried to “unalive” myself. I couldn’t understand why a person would makeup something that terrible, when they had no idea why I was really there. There are a few really bad apples out there. We all know that…but there are people in my life who I am truly thankful to know. One of those individuals just made a sh*t load of sweaters with me. They are glorious. 😍@EmmeRylan@kirstenandemme#CrochetingIsGoodForTheBrain#KickinIt”
In a follow-up update shared weeks later, Storms reassured fans that she was doing well medically and hinted that her return to Port Charles could be coming soon, “My last appointment was with a new Neurosurgeon in St Louis. He told me that I am in the “gray zone” for the aneurysm procedure. It’s not super small, but it’s not at the mandatory surgery size. Basically, I can keep monitoring it - or have the coiling done, BUT he told me I wasn’t in immediate/“OMG! it’s going to burst tomorrow!” kind of danger. Obvi, great news. 💁🏼♀️ Trying to see if I’m comfortable with the “wait and see if it gets worse” plan. I do know that I am not eager to hop right on the operating table. (Plz refer to my post in 2021, following my craniotomy. The pic of the back of my head will *possibly* convey why this topic is a little difficult for me to openly discuss. And of course there was that surgery back in Jan this year 🙅🏼♀️). So, as I sit in this “gray zone”, pondering my plan, I want you guys to know that I really do appreciate the messages and stories offered of your own experiences. I needed those….and I had no idea (weird how that works, right?). Super easy to be silly and have fun on these platforms, but getting deep about online rumors and my feelings about them? Hah….i’d rather switch to decaf coffee. (My psychologist would tell me that’s a clear example of “avoidance”.) Welp I’m out of jokes, so I’m gonna say 🎄HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🎄and maaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon. ✨🎅🏼✨”
View this post on InstagramOn-screen, Maxie was poisoned by Jenz Sidwell, triggering a heart attack that left her comatose, a condition she has remained in for months.
During Maxie’s absence, her presumed dead husband Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) has resurfaced in Port Charles, setting the stage for an emotional reunion once Maxie awakens.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.

In addition to this, it will be 26 years since they released their debut album, Prison of Desire.

As mentioned, the forthcoming event was a result of their successful reunion shows for two special 25th anniversary concerts in October 2025.
According to Gommans, the first two albums were especially meaningful for the band, as they not only defined their music but also brought together a dedicated global fanbase.
"2025 was a milestone for the band: 25 years since AFTER FOREVER left a timeless footprint on the world of symphonic metal with our debut album, Prison of Desire,” he said, as cited by Blabbermouth, adding “Its successor, Decipher, released in 2001, took the band's music even further by blending progressive elements with a heavier sound that helped shape symphonic metal as we know it today. These two releases marked the beginning of a wonderful journey, one that took the band to international stages and into the hearts of fans all over the world.”
With this, After Forever’s Latin America show surely promises unforgettable nights of symphonic metal magic.

NFL Reacts to Charlie Puth's National Anthem Performance at Super Bowl LX
Charlie Puth opened Super Bowl LX with a calm yet powerful performance of the national anthem, and the NFL didn’t waste time sharing its reaction.
Shortly after the pregame ceremony wrapped, the league posted a video clip of Puth’s performance and praised the dramatic military flyover that followed, calling the moment “UNREAL.”
The performance took place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, moments before the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks faced off for the Super Bowl title.
With millions watching around the world, Puth delivered a piano-backed version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that leaned into simplicity rather than spectacle. The flyover by joint Navy and Air Force aircraft closed the ceremony, giving the NFL a picture-perfect opening to its biggest game of the year.

Standing behind his keyboard, Charlie Puth performed the anthem in his signature style, choosing control and clarity over big vocal flourishes. He played the piano himself while supported by a band.
View this post on InstagramIn the days leading up to the game, Puth explained that the national anthem is one of the hardest songs for any singer to perform because of its wide range and rising notes. He said he wanted to avoid “over-singing” the anthem and instead let the melody speak for itself.
That approach showed during the live broadcast. Cameras caught players, coaches and sideline staff visibly moved by the performance. Some athletes stood still with their hands over their hearts, while others closed their eyes as the final notes played. As Puth looked skyward during the flyover, the stadium fell into a quiet pause before erupting into applause.
Super Bowl LX featured a packed entertainment lineup, and Puth’s performance served as the emotional entry point. Before kickoff, Coco Jones performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” while Brandi Carlile delivered “America the Beautiful.” Rock band Green Day also appeared during the pregame show. Later in the night, Bad Bunny headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
Super Bowl national anthem performances often invite strong opinions. As someone watching from home, it felt like one of those Super Bowl moments that doesn’t need replay after replay to make its point.

How Much Do Artists Get Paid for the Super Bowl Halftime Show? How Much Celebrities Get Paid to Sing at the Super Bowl
The Super Bowlhalftime showis a spotlight for the absolute biggest names in music, and it's had some super-huge sponsors through the years, including Pepsi and currently Apple Music. With so much money poured into every Super Bowl thanks to millions upon millions spent on individual ads, the NFL surely has deep pockets for huge artist paydays, so it begs the question: How much do artists get paid for the Super Bowl halftime show?

How much do artists get paid for the Super Bowl Halftime Show?As it turns out, artists do not get paid for the Super Bowl halftime show, at least not by the NFL. However, the NFL does cover all the production costs of the Super Bowl halftime show, so artists won't be in the red if they perform.
The NFL also pays for artists' travel expenses to get to and from (and to stay in) the city hosting the big game.
Why don't artists get paid to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?Artists don't take home a paycheck from the Super Bowl halftime show for a few reasons. For one, the NFL pays for all the travel and production costs. Second, the Super Bowl halftime show is considered a major promotional opportunity, and financially, that typically works out in favor of the artist over time: They'll see a spike in single and album sales, as well as concert tickets, if the show goes well.
In 2025, Kendrick Lamar saw a 175 percent boost in Spotify streaming in the U.S. just hours after his halftime performance, with his Drake diss track “Not Like Us" surging 430 percent. The previous year, Usher's Spotify streams went up by 550 percent following his performance.

Iconic ’70s Band Announces Exclusive Update Amid 60th Anniversary
To celebrate their 60th anniversary, the iconic hard rock band Scorpions is re-releasing their debut album, Lonesome Crow. The re-released was announced via Instagram on Sunday afternoon, and fans are thrilled.
The new version of the Lonesome Crow album will be remixed by Grammy-Award winning producer Hans-Martin Buff and is based on archives from producer Conny Plank's original master tapes. Aside from streaming options, the album will be available for purchase as a limited edition transparent vinyl in a gatefold cover and as digi sleeve CD.
Lonesome Crow was released in 1972 as Scorpions' debut album and served as the soundtrack for the German anti-drug film Das Kalte Paradies. Recorded in only seven days, the dark psychedelic album was foundational for the band's later success. Their debut is a noticeable deviation from their later work, which centers around a more melodic hard rock sound in comparison to Lonesome Crow's unpolished, almost progressive rock style.

Chart-Topping Superstar Reportedly Turned Down Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Invite
The year after Kendrick Lamar's huge Super BowlHalftime Show, Bad Bunny takes the stage to enjoy his own big moment, with fans everywhere cheering him on. But allegedly, the Grammy winner asked another major superstar to join him during the show, but he declined.
According to The U.S. Sun, Bad Bunny asked none other than Drake, who infamously feuded with Lamar last year, to be a part of his show, possibly as an opportunity for a "revenge" of sorts after getting dissed at the show by the "Not Like Us" rapper.
But Drake allegedly declined the offer, and for a touching reason, with a source telling the publication, "He said no because he wants everyone to focus on his brother Benito."
The source went on, saying, "He wants Bad Bunny to enjoy the moment, to do his thing and to not have his moment surrounded by noise about any kind of revenge on Kendrick.”
Considering Drake's personal connection to Lamar's performance last year, a surprise appearance at this year's show would almost certainly have brought renewed attention to the feud, taking away from the spotlight on Bad Bunny.

Travis Kelce's Super Bowl Appearance Draws Questions About Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs tight end and fiancé to Taylor Swift, has been spotted at Super Bowl LX in San Francisco, raising questions about whether Swift may also be in attendance.
Kelce was spotted at the game without Swift by his side, but that doesn't mean the singer-songwriter isn't somewhere at the event, out of sight of the masses. Some have begun speculating that Swift may be in a suite, having gotten in without being seen (yet).
TAYLOR IN A SUITE? Travis Kelce has arrived to the #SuperBowl in San Francisco. pic.twitter.com/1t6LwyxwjO
— The Taylor Swift Updates (@theTSupdates) February 8, 2026This certainly isn't outside the realm of possibility, as Swift is known for her ability to sneak into locations in increasingly creative ways—be it her own concerts or Kansas City Chiefs games. Even if she wasn't sneaked into the Super Bowl in a cleaning cart (her now famous go-to method for the Eras Tour), it's still possible that she's at the game but hasn't yet been seen.
However, there's just as much reason to suspect Swift isn't in attendance tonight. While Swift has become a familiar face at Chiefs games since she and Kelce began their relationship, Kelce's team isn't one of the two facing off at this year's Super Bowl. It makes sense for Kelce, as an NFL star, to attend regardless, but Swift doesn't seem particularly invested in the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots.
In fact, it's unclear the extent to which Swift is independently interested in football, as she isn't necessarily known for a love of sports (although, it's worth mentioning, Swift was raised in Pennsylvania and previously expressed support for the Philadelphia Eagles). If she isn't somewhere in the stadium, currently out of sight, she may very well be at home partaking in one of her better-known hobbies, including baking elaborate sourdough breads.
If Swift is somewhere in the crowd, though, it seems like it is only a matter of time before she, too, is spotted.

What Did Green Day Say at the 2026 Super Bowl? Band Was Censored During 'American Idiot'
What did Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong say at the 2026 Super Bowl? That was the question on viewers' minds during the band's pregame performance in a medley that included "American Idiot."
On Sunday, Feb. 8, the rock group performed a medley of "Holiday," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and "American Idiot." In "American Idiot," a portion of the lyrics was bleeped out, prompting football fans to wonder what happened? Did Armstrong go off-script? Were the lyrics inappropriate? Let's take a closer look.
What Did Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Say at the 2026 Super Bowl? The part of "American Idiot" that was bleeped out was the last line of the first verse that goes, "And can you hear the sound of hysteria? /The subliminal mindf--k America."

Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mom Case Takes a New Turn as Authorities Speak Out
The search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother Nancy Guthrie has entered a new phase.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Sunday that law enforcement is now maintaining a security presence at Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson-area home, following developments in the ongoing abduction investigation.
In a statement shared publicly, the department said:
“At the request of the Guthrie family, PCSD will maintain a presence at Nancy Guthrie’s residence for security. Media & the public are reminded to follow all traffic & private property laws. No trespassing is allowed on the Guthrie property. Violations are subject to enforcement.”

The update comes as Nancy Guthrie, 84, remains missing more than a week after authorities determined she was taken from her home against her will. Investigators have previously confirmed that the blood found at the residence belonged to her, and the property has been treated as an active crime scene since the early days of the investigation.
The latest development follows heightened activity around the case in recent days, including renewed searches at the property and continued appeals from Guthrie’s family. On Saturday, Savannah and her siblings posted a video message directed at the captor, urging the safe return of their mother.

“We received your message, and we understand,” said the Today Show host in the clip. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.”
A retired FBI crisis negotiator later told media outlets that the family’s wording appeared intentionally focused on resolution rather than confrontation.
Authorities have stressed that the investigation remains ongoing and fluid. In a separate update issued earlier Sunday, the sheriff’s department said there are currently no named suspects or persons of interest and no scheduled press briefings.

'Stranger Things' Star Caleb McLaughlin Devastates Fans With Finale Opinion
The Stranger Things finale certainly had fans talking for a host of reasons, some more positive than others, but one of the biggest talking points following the show's conclusion was whether Eleven really died in the end. The Duffer Brothersintentionally left the answer up to interpretation, but Lucas Sinclair actor Caleb McLaughlin has a clear opinion, and it has fans devastated.
While appearing on The View, McLaughlin shared that he believes Eleven is "gone," following that assertion up with, "Rest in peace, Eleven." The hosts of The View were immediately crushed by this perspective, and fans who watched the clip were soon to follow.
@theviewabc'GOAT' star #CalebMcLaughlin dishes on what he thinks really happened to Eleven in the 'Stranger Things' series finale! 👀 #TheView
♬ original sound - The View - The ViewInterestingly, McLaughlin is now the second of the main cast of kids to voice this opinion. McLaughlin's Stranger Thingsco-star Sadie Sink, who played Max Mayfield, also shared that she believes Eleven died in the finale while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonand then seemed surprised that this was a controversial opinion.
Although these Stranger Things stars believe Eleven is dead, many fans of the show believe they have evidence that Eleven lived, including that she had no nosebleed despite using her powers and the fact that she theoretically would not have been able to use her powers because of the suppressors that were present in her (apparent) final moments.
It's also worth noting that, while McLaughlin doesn't believe Eleven lived, he clarified that Lucas does—something that each of the main characters voiced in the show's final scenes.
Ultimately, fans are unlikely to ever get a direct answer regarding Eleven's fate, and it's clear that there are valid opinions on both sides. As controversial as the Stranger Things finale may have been, the Duffers did achieve their goal of leaving Eleven's ending open to interpretation—even if it now means that actors like Sink and McLaughlin are breaking hearts with their perspectives.

Whitney Houston solidified her legacy with a performance of the national anthem that transcended generations. Houston's soaring vocals on "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the 1991 Super Bowl—just 10 days into the Gulf War—led the song to actually debut at No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100, higher than any other first-week single from the music icon at that point in her career.
Houston's rendition charted once again after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, with Houston donating all proceeds from the recording to 9/11 first responders. If God ever did bless America, it happened when Houston touched the mic. Not only is hers the best performance of the national anthem ever at the Super Bowl, but it's also, by a mile, hands-down the best performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" of all time.
