A Look Back at the Star-Studded Grand Opening of Disney California Adventure, 25 Years Later

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 3:37pm

Disney California Adventure celebrated its 25-year anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 8, so we're taking a walk down memory late to the grand opening of the beloved theme park across from Disneyland!

Photos from the 2001 event show all of the high-profile celebrity guests that got to be in the first groups of people to try out the new rides, hang out with Mickey and Minnie, and have fun with their families. Jack Nicholson, Fran Drescher, Mickey Rooney, David Cassidy, Drew Carey, Wayne Knight, and George Lucas were among the lucky stars to christen the amusement park.

The old photos also shed light on how much the park has changed in the quarter-century since it was first opened. While the part was originally a homage to the state of California, a 6-year, $1.1 billion "re-imagining" to make it more Disney themed began in 2007.

The entrance gate, which used to feature a miniature version of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and a postcard image of California's beautiful landscapes, was replaced with a more futuristic welcome motif in 2012. A flying swing ride called The Orange Stinger, which paid tribute to California's plentiful orange groves, disappeared. The famous Sun Wheel ferris wheel was reimagined as the Pixar Pal-A-Round, and Sunshine Plaza was replaced with the vintage-themed Buena Vista Street.

Even after the massive renovations, changes and updates have been ongoing. In 2018, the nostalgic California Screamin' coaster, which formally featured a Mickey silhouette, was turned into The Incredicoaster, getting a new Pixar Pier sign in Mickey's place.

‘I’m a Gastroenterologist—This Is the Most Overlooked Cause of Digestive Issues’

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 3:25pm

When something about your health feels “off,” there’s a good chance that the first place you turn to for help is Google. It might even be what led you to this very article. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 59% of adults use the internet to look for health or medical information. Women are especially likely to do this.

Unfortunately, the internet isn’t a reliable doctor. Googling possible causes of a headache (or asking ChatGPT), for example, could soon have you self-diagnosing yourself with a brain tumor when the real cause is a lot less scary

Gut health issues are particularly difficult to diagnose on your own, even though many people experience them. According to the American Gastroenterological Association, roughly 40% of Americans have stopped routine activities in the past year due to uncomfortable bowel symptoms. This could include bloating, diarrhea or constipation

If you experience bothersome gastrointestinal issues regularly, it’s important to see a doctor to get to the bottom of them. Gut health is complicated and nothing can replace the guidance a trained doctor can offer based on your individual health.

That said, sometimes, the reason for your distress isn’t as sinister as you may think. As gastroenterologists share here, often, the reason for digestive issues is a simple healthy habit that’s being overlooked.

The Most Overlooked Cause of Digestive Issues, According to a G.I. Doc

Olga Rolenko/Getty Images

If you’re experiencing bloating, constipation or diarrhea regularly,Dr. Carmen Fong, MD, FACS, a colorectal surgeon, author of What To Know When You Can’t Go and chief medical officer of Bummed, says to first consider your diet. This includes what you’re eating and drinking, as well as what you may not be eating or drinking enough of. Dr. Fong says that not drinking enough water is the number one most overlooked cause of digestive issues that she sees.

“Often, we get busy, so we eat junk and forget to drink water,” she says, adding that not drinking enough water can lead to a range of digestive issues, including stomach upset, heartburn, constipation and diarrhea.

Related: Here's What People Mean When They Talk About 'Gut Health'

If you’ve been experiencing constipation or diarrhea, Dr. Fong says it can help to go back to basics for a few days. “Eat a bland-ish diet of ripe bananas, apples, rice, toast or potatoes. Drink plenty of water, and, if you hate water, try coconut water or something with electrolytes. Just doing it for one day will make a huge difference, and doing it for three days will reset your system,” she explains.

Still not feeling better? That’s a sign it’s time to get an appointment with your healthcare provider on the books.

Another Commonly Overlooked Cause of Digestive Problems—That Has Nothing To Do With Diet

While examining your diet—including your hydration habits—is a great place to start if you are experiencing digestive problems, sometimes the cause doesn’t have to do with diet at all. Dr. Ritu Nahar, MD, a gastroenterologist with Allied Digestive Health, says that one of the most overlooked causes of digestive problems she sees is stress.

Related: 'I'm a Gastroenterologist—This Is the One Breakfast Mistake I'm Begging People To Stop Making'

“One of the most overlooked causes of digestive symptoms is chronic stress and the resulting deregulation of the mind-gut connection. Many patients focus on food triggers, but stress has a powerful and often under-recognized effect on how the digestive system functions,” she says.

Scientific research backs this up. According to a 2023 study published in Cell, researchers found that stress signals from the brain can travel to the gastrointestinal tract through the nervous system. They found that chronic stress literally changes the makeup of the gut and can lead to abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and intestinal inflammation.

Related: Gastroenterologists Are Begging People Over 50 To Start Doing This One Thing Every Morning

“Chronic stress can contribute to bloating, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux, nausea and flare-ups of conditions like irritable bowel syndrome. It can also make the gut more reactive, so normal digestion feels uncomfortable or painful,” Dr. Nahar says.

Dr. Nahar explains that it’s easy to overlook stress as a cause for digestive distress because it doesn’t show up on bloodwork or imaging, and people tend to think of it as a mental or emotional issue rather than a physiological one. But she emphasizes that stress directly affects gut motility, sensitivity and acid production. “So many of my patients will manifest GI symptoms at times of chronic, continued stress or acute life stressors,” she says.

It bears repeating that getting to the root cause of digestive issues can be complicated. Dr. Nahar recommends meeting with a doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions. But addressing stress as part of your treatment can only help.

“Prioritize sleep, slow down when eating meals, incorporate physical activity into your day and practice simple nervous system-calming techniques like deep breathing,” Dr. Nahar says.

And don’t forget to stay hydrated too. Your digestive system needs water to function properly, just like the rest of your body.

Country Star Details Disaster Dental Nightmare After Bloody Fall Left Her Unconscious — See the Photos

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 3:22pm

Carly Pearce is opening up about an accident that happened just days before she was set to perform at the 2020 CMA Awards. The country music superstar, 35, revealed she suffered a major dental injury that required immediate attention after taking an unexpected fall down a flight of stairs.

In a brand new TikTok post shared on Sunday, Feb. 8, Pearce detailed the events leading up to the gruesome injury and the aftermath of the nightmare, telling fans and followers that the incident knocked her out.

Pearce says she didn’t realize the severity of her situation until she looked at the calendar and noticed she was scheduled to appear at the 2020 CMA Awards just days later.

She’s Finally Ready to Talk

“I’ve never talked about this publicly, but I’m ready,” the beloved Grand Ole Opry member said in the video, sharing her story, while slicing up carrots in her kitchen. “So it’s Halloween 2020, and I went to a Halloween party dressed like a cat. It was pretty early in the night, and I was going down the stairs, and I fell.”

“It was one of those falls where you don’t catch yourself. So I landed straight on my mouth,” she explained, revisiting the impact of the brutal moment. “It knocked me out, and I remember waking up to my friend's face, timing my mom to show her what had happened. I ended up the next day realizing it was Sunday and also realizing that the CMA Awards were approaching.”

She Shared Photos of the Injury

The damage was severe.

“I’ll insert a picture for you of what my mouth looked like right after it happened,” she said, sharing an image of her front teeth looking chipped, bloodied, and bruised.

Luckily, she says, “I ended up spending a very long time the next day with a sweet dentist and a sweet plastic surgeon who came in on their off days after Halloween to help me with my face. When I made it to the dentist, we had realized that I almost bitten straight through my mouth.”

The “Next Girl” singer then explained she had to get “skin removed” in one location, and “seven stitches put in my mouth.”

“I spent the afternoon with a dentist who was able to put a fake piece on each of my front teeth and told me that I could come back after the CMA Awards to get root canals,” she said.

She Wasn’t Done Getting Care

The next hurdle was having to get plastic surgery.

“For the next week before the CMAs, I had to go to him every single day. He would put compresses on my face and scrape,” Pearce shared of the care she received. “Aquaphor was a healer. Not anything expensive. I put that on my face all day, every day. So by the grace of God, Aquaphor and these amazing doctors, my face looked pretty normal to be able to go to the show, at least from far away.”

Even with her face and teeth in recovery, Pearce attended the CMA Awards, where she won her first-ever CMA for Musical Event of the Year for “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice

“At one point during the show, my friend leaned over to me and told me my lip was bleeding,” Pearce recalled of her performance of the song. “So I performed my song. When I was singing, I had a lisp. My teeth were that freakin’ loose, but I did it. I made it, and I was all fine. I ended up winning Music Event of the Year. The events that had to happen for me to make it to the show and then win were a moment that I’ll never forget.”

The aftermath of the injury required more care and patience, with Pearce noting, “I went and got three root canals the next morning, and I had to read about the press and people online talking about what a bad lip job I got done. I have been on Invisalign for the last five years. My teeth have been reconstructed on the bottom several times because they always chipped off. I can never bite straight on.”

Jeffrey Epstein Emails Claim Donald Trump’s Inner Circle Raised Dementia Concerns Back in 2017

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 3:01pm

Newly released emails tied to Jeffrey Epstein are reigniting questions about Donald Trump’s mental fitness during his first term in office.

Among the millions of documents released by the Department of Justice, one email from Epstein to journalist and Trump biographer Michael Wolff stands out. Sent on December 29, 2017, the message alleges that people close to Trump, 79, expressed concern after a private dinner.

In the email, per PEOPLE, Epstein wrote: “Some at dinner with donald last night, were concerned about dementia. tons of makeup. did not recognize old friends.”

The claim, which Epstein shared while Trump was president in his first term, is not the first time concerns about cognitive decline have surfaced around the commander-in-chief. According to Ticking Clock, a book by former 60 Minutes producer Ira Rosen, Steve Bannon—who served as Trump’s White House chief strategist—allegedly believed the president showed signs of “early-stage dementia.” Rosen wrote that Bannon claimed Trump “had no attention span, didn't read, and now doesn't listen,” though Bannon later denied those allegations.

The Epstein files have prompted scrutiny far beyond Trump. Bill Gates was also referenced in draft emails Epstein allegedly wrote to himself, which included unsubstantiated claims involving Gates’ sexual health. A spokesperson for the Microsoft co-founder responded by calling the allegations “absolutely absurd and completely false,” stating they reflected Epstein’s efforts to defame others.

John Ramsey publicly denied viral claims linking his late daughter JonBenét to Epstein-related materials. “Absolutely no truth to it,” Ramsey told TMZ, adding that online speculation fueled by AI and misinformation has been deeply harmful.

’80s Rock Legend’s Performance Ranked ‘Best Super Bowl Halftime Show’ of All Time

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:57pm

The Super Bowlhalftime show has become one of the most sought-after stages for any artist. Throughout Super Bowl history, the NFL has hosted massive stars to headline the big stage, with some delivering performances iconic enough to be remembered for decades.

On Saturday, the New York Times ranked the top 35 halftime shows of all time, compiling a list of some of the most memorable sets in the NFL's history. Ranked via a point rubric system tracking music, dancing, staging, relevancy and relativity to stature, Prince's 2007 performance claimed the top spot with a whopping 40 points.

Prince's unforgettable set ranked ahead of both U2's 2002 performance, which took No. 2 with 39 points and Michael Jackson's 1993 performance, ranked No. 3 with 38.5 points. The incredible show was featured in Super Bowl XLI. Despite taking place in the middle of a torrential downpour, Prince delivered a jaw-dropping performance with lightening littering the sky behind him.

When asked by producers if he was okay to perform in the harsh weather before his set, Prince gave his now-iconic response:

"Can you make it rain harder?”

On a stage custom-built to resemble his "Love Symbol," Prince played electrifying renditions of his classic hits "Let’s Go Crazy,” “Baby I’m a Star” and “Purple Rain.” He completed the set with an improvised guitar solo while drenched in the Florida storm. The invigorating show was an instant crowd-pleaser. The intricate pyrotechnic effects, beloved set list and unmatched stage presence solidified Prince as one of the greatest halftime performers of all time.

Fogerty then played during halftime as the Kansas City Chiefs' hosted the Denver Broncos, giving an electric Thanksgiving Day halftime show, his second in one day.

While in Kansas City, Fogerty rocked out to his 1970 release "Travelin' Band." He had already performed CCR's "Born on the Bayou" during his first performance in Detroit.

'80s Rock Artist Thought His Hit Was 'Stupid and Silly,' Before Release

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:36pm

Musicians don't get to pick which songs resonate with a mass audience. They also disagree with producers and executives on how songs should sound and what makes it onto an album.John Mellencamp revealed his 1985 album Scarecrow had a song that he was very wrong about in a good way.

John Mellencamp Hated 'R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.'

Mellencamp, 74, said he didn't have high hopes for "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. (A Salute To 60's Rock)" on Real Time With Bill Maher. "I had a song called 'R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.' And I hated it," he said. "I just thought, this is f---ing stupid and silly." The lyrics painted a picture of people leaving home and having dreams of making it big. It also references Frankie Lyman, Bobby Fuller, Mitch Ryder, Jackie Wilson, The Shangri-Las, Young Rascals,  Martha Reeves, and James Brown. The video references the start of integration in the music industry.

Mellencamp let someone listen to the song, and they believed it would be number one. However, the songwriter didn't think it matched the other Scarecrow tracks and didn't want to include it. Mellencamp claimed he made a bet that if he won at arm wrestling, then the song wouldn't be on the album. They tied, which meant the artist lost. He learned a hard lesson.

"I didn't want to put it on the record, but I made the mistake — I never let the record companies hear my records until I present them because they have A&R people that want to come in and say, 'You need to do this, you need to do that,'" he said. "And I always say, 'No, no, no, no.' They're not even gonna ask me anymore."

Mellencamp announced "The Dancing Words" tour, where he'll perform that song and more of his greatest hits. He'll hit 19 cities in the United States between July 10, 2026, and August 12, 2026.

The Most Iconic Female-Headlined Super Bowl Halftime Shows

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:35pm

What makes the Super Bowl truly special is that it offers something for everyone, seamlessly blending top-tier sports competition with world-class entertainment into one massive annual cultural event.

After the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks wrap up action on the field during halftime, Latin superstar Bad Bunny will take the Super Bowl stage for a historic performance, and fans are eagerly anticipating a few surprise guest appearances to join him.

As millions around the world tune in for this year's game and halftime performance, it's worth looking back at the handful of female-led Super Bowl halftime shows that didn't just entertain; they made history in their own unique ways.

Diana Ross-1996

Diana Ross showcased her superstar power when she took the stage for the Super Bowl XXX halftime show in 1996. Her performance included a mix of her biggest solo hits and timeless classics from her time with The Supremes, including "You Keep Me Hangin' On," "Baby Love," and "You Can't Hurry Love." Throughout her performance, there were several special effects, hundreds of dancers who spelled out Ross' name on the field, and Ross standing on a crane as it lifted her in the air.

Ross capped off her show with one of the most dramatic exits in Super Bowl history—stepping into a waiting helicopter and soaring away, leaving the audience in awe.

Madonna-2012

It wasn't until Madonna's stellar Super Bowl XLVI performance in 2012 that another solo female artist headlined the halftime show since Ross in 1996. The iconic singer kicked off her performance singing her classic song, "Vogue," and was later joined by LMFAO to perform a mashup of their hits with her 2000's song, "Music."

Madonna later performed her newly released single at the time, "Give Me All Your Luvin'" alongside Nicki Minajand M.I.A., before closing out her visually spectacular halftime show with "Like a Prayer" with CeeLo Green and a gospel choir.

Lady Gaga-2017

Lady Gaga put on a show-stopping performance, as she often does, when she took the stage solo for the Super Bowl LI halftime show in 2017. She kicked off her set with a powerful rendition of "God Bless America" before dramatically leaping into the stadium for a hit-packed performance of some of her most beloved songs.

The songstress sang "Poker Face," Born This Way," and at the time, sang her new single, "Million Reasons" while playing the piano. She closed out the show with a high-energy performance of "Bad Romance," bringing the stadium to its feet.

Shakira and Jennifer Lopez-2020

Shakira delivered an electrifying performance during the Super Bowl LIV halftime show in 2020. She opened her set with "She Wolf," instantly setting the tone for the night, before moving on to her iconic hit, "Whenever, Wherever," showing off her signature belly dancing that has become synonymous with her performances.

Later, she was joined by this year's halftime performer, Bad Bunny, and the two sang a medley of songs, including "I Like It" by Cardi B and "Chantaje." Shakira then ended her solo performance with "Hips Don't Lie," beforeJennifer Lopez took the stage.

Lopez began her set with her classics, including "Jenny from the Block," "Get Right," and Waiting for Tonight." She then introduced J Balvin to the stage, where the two sang "Mi Gente" in a high-energy performance. After singing her party hits "On the Floor" and "Let's Get Loud" (which included a performance by her child, Emme and Shakira on the drums), Shakira headed back on stage, joining Lopez for "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" to close the magnificent show.

Rihanna kicked off the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in 2023 by revealing she was pregnant with her second child, standing atop a floating stage as she launched into a medley of her biggest dance anthems, including "Where Have You Been," "Only Girl (In the World)," and "We Found Love." Her setlist was packed with career-defining hits, also featuring "Rude Boy," "Pour It Up," "Umbrella," and "All of the Lights."

She closed out her performance with a powerful rendition of "Diamonds," floating skywards as fireworks illuminated the stadium.

JonBenét Ramsey's Father, John Ramsey, Speaks Out on Ransom Note Sent to Savannah Guthrie's Family

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:34pm

JonBenét Ramsey’s father, John Ramsey, has some advice for the Guthrie family.

“The key is that they insist the police accept help from whoever offers,” he recently told the hosts of Fox & Friends.

TODAY host Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have been looking for their mother for a week now. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was declared missing on Sunday, Feb. 1, and was last seen Saturday, Jan. 31, in the evening near her home in Tuscon. The family has reportedly received a ransom note with a Feb. 9 deadline. See here for an ongoing timeline of events.

For Ramsey, he lost his 6-year-old daughter on Christmas Day in 1996. The family found a ransom note and called the police. However, JonBenét was later found murdered in the family’s basement. Her killer has never been found.

As someone who has been in a similar position as Savannah and her siblings, Ramsey joined the morning show to weigh in on the ransom note and latest videos posted by the family

Answering the question, should the family pay the ransom, Ramsey said, “No. Not unless they know that she’s alive. … Particularly in this world, you don’t want to be just sending money to anybody.”

Speaking to what could be going on behind the walls where the family are hunkered together, Ramsey said, “It’s a horrible anxiety and feeling of helplessness. … It’s a horrible time for them, I’m sorry to say.”

He then shared direct advice for what the family could be doing to help the investigation.

“Hammer the police. Ask questions,” he said. “The important thing for the family is to make sure the police are doing everything that can be done. … The key is that they insist the police accept help from whoever offers it.”

According to CNN, both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the disappearance of Nancy.

“We thought the police knew what they were doing, and they didn’t. At all,” Ramsey added. “It looks like this police department is doing some of the basic things that should be done as far as I can read, but they need an advocate with the police, asking, 'What are you doing? What are you doing with the FBI? How involved is the FBI?' The FBI can bring tremendous resources to bear, if asked. They have to be asked.”

At this time, authorities have not identified a suspect or person of interest. The FBI is working on the case and urges anyone with tips or leads to call 1-800-CALL-FBI in addition to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office number, 520-351-4900.

Nancy Guthrie is described as 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

1983 Performance Ranked ‘Worst Super Bowl Halftime Show’ of All Time

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:23pm

In the years before megastar performers became a fixture of Super Bowl halftime, the mid-game entertainment often took unexpected, and sometimes bewildering, creative turns. Now, one early production has been singled out as the most forgettable, and quite possible the worst, of them all.

The Super Bowl XVII halftime show, which aired on January 30, 1983 during the NFL's championship game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, has been ranked the worst Super Bowl halftime show of all time in a recent roundup of halftime performances.

Titled "KaleidoSUPERscope," the segment was produced by Bob Jani Productions and showcased the Los Angeles Super Drill Team in a parade of color and movement that in hindsight lacked the star power or emotional resonance audiences were beginning to crave.

The spectacle, which featured drill team choreography and themed visual elements, was incomparable in terms of its forgettable nature. It wasn't bold or confusing for the sake of being memorable or artistic. It just felt like chaotic, colorful noise without a clear through-line or intention. The performance was more akin to a corporate morale video than a show-stopping display that deserves a place at the mid-point of the Super Bowl. It just goes to show just how far halftime entertainment has evolved since the early 1980s

At the time, the NFL's halftime offerings were more similar to traditional marching band showcases and thematic variety performances than the celebrity-driven shows that would come later. "KaleidoSUPERscope" was emblematic of that era: produced by someone known for live event spectacles, like major parades and celebrations, but without the benefit of a musical anchor or household name to tie it together.

Indeed, halftime programming in the years before pop culture's embrace of the Super Bowl was often experimental and aimed at broad appeal. But, "KaleidoSUPERscope" was so far left-field that it failed to hit the mark entirely.

Twenty-plus years later, halftime shows would evolve into culturally defining moments, drawing global attention for headline artists’ performances. But for many fans and critics, the 1983 halftime remains a cautionary example of how not to entertain millions, and a compelling, if unintentionally humorous, entry at the bottom of the Super Bowl’s halftime history.

Mark Wahlberg's daughter Grace Wahlberg is back in the saddle—literally—three months after a "scary" equestrian accident left her hospitalized. The 15-year-old won a slew of blue ribbons in February during her first month back competing, and her famous dad couldn't be happier for her.

"Congrats!!!! So proud of you [three smiling face with hearts emojis href="https://parade.com/living/emoji-combos-funny-cute"] my girl," he wrote on Instagram beside a photo of Grace with her blue ribbon on Feb. 8, just hours before the Super Bowl featuring Wahlberg's beloved New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks.

Grace's mom, Rhea Wahlberg, shared some more insight into her kid's recent success on her own page. "Two 1st place wins = 1.40 Champion," she wrote beside photos of Grace with her champion horse, Zeppelin Blue, at Desert Horse Park in Thermal, California. "Congratulations on a beautiful first month back in the ring, Grace."

For her part, Grace wrote, "What a special week with my boy Zeppelin Blue. Jumping all clear rounds with multiple wins and a try color. Truly want to thank everyone involved. Time to go home and do more work for a big year ahead. [robot arm emoji. href="https://parade.com/living/emoji-meanings"]"

Fans sent lots of love in the comments, with one writing, "You're not back. You're in a completely different stratosphere, kid!" and another adding, "You're an amazing rider, Grace! I look forward to seeing you representing the US in the Olympics!!"

The exciting news comes three months after Grace revealed she was sidelined from the sport by an arm injury following an accident. “It was terrifying, you know," Walhberg told Access Hollywood in Nov. 2025. "It’s a very, very dangerous sport, but she’s so passionate about it… It’s very, very scary, and I thank everybody for their support and well wishes.”

But it was never a question for Grace whether she'd be back to riding again. “[She was] just chomping at the bit and, you know, worried that we would deem the sport too dangerous, but she is so passionate [and] so dedicated,” said her father, adding that “all she wanted to do is get back on that horse, no pun intended.”

Jelly Roll's Message to His Haters

While haters are a dime a dozen, Jelly Roll has a good sense of humor about it. The singer appeared as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last summer and turned a whole bunch of lemons into lemonade. He took the stage to read Internet comments from people who publicly hated on him online and turned them into a power ballad.

“Most of all, I want to thank my fans. I literally would not be who I am without you. Truly, truly amazing,” he explained to the crowd before busting into song, according to Country Living. “Well, most of you; some of you are a–holes. But you know what? I’ve never been the one to let my haters get me down, so tonight I’m going to debut my brand new single.”

He then sang off some messages that had the studio audience in stitches.

“Jelly Roll looks like a meth addict grabbed a microphone,” one of the messages read.

“Jelly Roll is just Lizzo for white people,” another one said.

Of course, the singer gets the last laugh in this bit, ending the song by singing “you can’t clown me, and tell me I suck, because I don’t give a f—.” On TikTok, commenters sang his praise.

“Jelly Roll laughing all the way to the bank,” one commenter noted.

“Not Jelly Roll calling the whole Internet out in true long-haired song of a sinner style,” someone else said.

It’s safe to say the “Beautifully Broken” star is doing just fine these days, despite having some haters.

'The Pitt' Star Had Never Seen 'Seinfeld' Before Being Cast: 'I Was Living Under a Rock'

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:05pm

Prior to her starring role as Nurse Dana on The Pitt, Katherine LaNasa guest starred on Seinfeld without ever watching the iconic sitcom.

In the Season 6 episode, "The Beard," LaNasa guest starred as an NYPD sergeant who flirts with Jerry Seinfeldand then subjects him to a lie detector test after he attempts to claim he'd never seen Melrose Place.

"I had never seen Seinfeld, nor had I seen Melrose Place, which is hilarious," LaNasa told ETalk in a recent interview. "Yes, I was living under a rock."

She went on to explain that early in her acting career, she rarely had time to watch television while juggling motherhood and the demands of breaking into the entertainment industry.

"I was a single mom, my son's dad was an older guy, and we didn't watch Melrose Place," she said in reference to her late ex-husband Dennis Hopper. "I just didn't watch a lot of TV. I know it sounds crazy, I was just starting out in television."

LaNasa is now married to Melrose Place star Grant Show. The two got married in 2012 and welcomed a daughter a few years later.

While LaNasa hadn't watched Seinfeld before landing the role in the Season 6 episode, she told ETalk that it was instantly evident that the cast was "unbelievably talented."

"It was just a big bucket full of talent and I was pinching myself. I couldn't believe I was a part of it or witnessing it," she said.

Along with Seinfeld, LaNasa guest starred on ER, 3rd Rock From the SunTouched by an Angel, and Grey's Anatomy before starring on The Pitt.

1984 Hit Ranked ‘Best Super Bowl Commercial’ of All Time

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 2:03pm

If you're not watching for the game or the halftime show, you're probably watching for the ads.

Over the past three decades, the NFL has garnered a reputation for airing eccentric commercials during the Super Bowl. If you want to capture the attention of 100 million people, why not go all out for the worldwide stage? With the countless unique and entertaining commercials to pick from, it is nearly impossible to choose the best, but there are certainly some standouts.

On Friday, FOX Sports ranked the top 10 best Super Bowl commercials of all time, compiling a list of the most unforgettable ads to date. While all of them are recognizable for their virality, one sticks out as the blueprint for what a Super Bowl commercial could be. Ranked ahead of both the iconic 2000 "Whassup!" Budweiser commercial and the 1980 "Hey Kid, Catch!" Coca-Cola ad, Apple's "1984" secured the top spot.

Apple's commercial, which aired during Super Bowl XVIII, was a play on George Orwell's 1949 dystopian novel 1984. Apple took Orwell's vision of a totalitarian, subservient society and used it to break expectations and advertise their new computer.

The commercial stars English athlete and actress Anya Major as she runs from police to smash a television screen broadcasting a "Big Brother" figure to hundreds of entranced subjects. The message of the commercial was to show Apple smashing the presumptions surrounding the year 1984 with their new top-tier technology.

"On January 24, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you'll see why 1984 won't be like '1984.'"

Directed by the critically acclaimed Ridley Scott, the ad won several major industry awards, including the 1984 Clio Award and the Grand Prix at the 31st Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Advertising Age also named it the "Commercial of the Decade" in the 1980s.

Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show: Who is Bad Bunny?

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 1:58pm

The clock is ticking toward tonight's highly anticipated Super Bowl LX match between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, who will be facing each other at 6:30 p.m. ET at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. For this year's halftime show, the Puerto Rican musician and producer Bad Bunny will be hitting the stage for a history-making performance as the first solo Latino artist to do so.

Over the past few years, Bad Bunny has seen a significant amount of growth in mainstream popularity as he's contributed to helping Spanish-language music find new audiences. He was Spotify's most-streamed artist in 2025, racking up over 90 million monthly listeners to date.

Bad Bunny's career has been filled with history-making and record-breaking moments, but how did the Grammy-winning artist get to where he is today? Read the rest of this article in order to find out — plus, what we might be able to expect from his halftime performance tonight.

Who is Bad Bunny?

Bad Bunny — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer and cultural icon best known for his work in reggaeton, Latin trap and música urbana — styles that blend Spanish-language rap with Caribbean beats and other genres.

He began posting music on SoundCloud while still a teenager starting at the age of 14 years old while still working at a grocery store. A producer discovered his song “Diles” in 2016, which helped him sign with a label and break into the music scene.

After signing to Hear This Music, Bad Bunny released a number of singles that quickly made their way up the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. His 2017 song "Ahora Me Llama," recorded alongside Colombian singer Karol G, was ranked one of NPR's Alt.Latino's favorite songs of the year.

Over the years, Bad Bunny would go on to release several high-charting works with artists across genres, such as Cardi B, Drake, J Balvin and more. His debut album X 100pre (2018) dropped on Christmas Eve and peaked at No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, as well as secured a spot on Rolling Stone's"500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list at No. 447.

Bad Bunny's second album Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana(which translates to "I do what I want" in English) made history as U.S. Billboard 200's highest-charting album performed entirely in Spanish when it debuted in the No. 2 spot in 2020. Pitchfork called the album "nearly flawless," and praised Bad Bunny for "his ability to push reggaetón forward while paying homage to its past." At the Grammy Awards that year, the album won the award for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album. It was even announced to be Spotify's most-streamed album of 2020, with Bad Bunny also being honored with the title of that year's most-streamed artist.

Needless to say, the Puerto Rican musician was quickly growing his influence and climbing the ladder of success, making waves in helping Spanish-language rap music find more fans all over the world. His third studio album El Último Tour Del Mundo (2020) made history as the first all-Spanish language album to top the Billboard 200 chart. In 2021, Bad Bunny won 10 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including the one for Artist of the Year, and at the GrammysEl Último Tour Del Mundo won Best Música Urbana Album.

His fourth studio album Un Verano Sin Ti (2022) remains one of Bad Bunny's most lucrative works, immediately debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, where it remained for 13 non-consecutive weeks. Featuring artists such as Rauw Alejandro, The Marías and Chencho Corleone, the album once again made history as being the first Spanish-language albums to be nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

Beyond music, Bad Bunny has become a prominent cultural voice, influencing fashion, representing Puerto Rican identity and often speaking on social issues. In 2024, he announced his newest album Debí Tirar Más Fotosa love letter to the artist's Puerto Rican heritage featuring collaborators that represented the country's various styles and cultural symbols.

In an interview with Billboard, he said, "When I released Un Verano Sin Ti, I knew it was something so big that I made a decision: I didn’t want to force myself to top it. I didn’t care about breaking records or being No. 1. I wanted to make music for Puerto Rico. That project reminded me that you have to trust your vision and sing from the heart.”

Rather than immediately touring the world, Bad Bunny stayed true to his commitment to honor his home of Puerto Rico by announcing a 30-day residency in San Juan called No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí. The residency took place between July and September of 2025, with the first nine performances being exclusively for Puerto Rican residents. The performances were estimated to have brought in around $250 million to the economy of Puerto Rico.

At the 2026 Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny once again made history when Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language album to win the coveted Album of the Year award. In his acceptance speech, he once again reaffirmed his commitment to uplifting Latino culture: "Puerto Rico, believe me when I tell you when we're much bigger than 100 x 35 [miles], and there's nothing we can't achieve... To all the Latinos in the world and all the artists who came before and deserved to be on this stage getting this award, thank you."

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Bad Bunny was announced as the halftime performer for the Super Bowl LX matchup in September 2025.

While he will be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show this year for the first time, it will not be Bad Bunny's first halftime performance; he was featured as a guest artist during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's show when they headlined in 2020, coming out on stage to perform a rendition of his 2018 hit "I Like It Like That" featuring Cardi B and J Balvin.

This year, however, Bad Bunny will indeed be making history as the first solo Latino halftime headliner to ever perform at the Super Bowl. In conversation with Zane Lowe during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Press Conference on Thursday, he said: "I had a vision about the story, the mood and the feelings that I want to put on that show. I want people to feel happiness and joy. I want to make people dance. I want to make them feel proud and think that everything is possible.”

Tonight's performance is expected to run about 13 minutes long, and while Bad Bunny didn't reveal too many details about the performance itself, he did mention that viewers can expect "a huge party" full of celebration and culture.

Lindsey Vonn Has Major Surgery to 'Stabilize' Athlete After Terrifying Olympic Crash

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 1:56pm

Lindsey Vonn’s Olympic comeback took a frightening turn on Sunday when the veteran skier was rushed into surgery just hours after a violent crash.

The 41-year-old Olympian suffered a serious leg injury on February 8 during the women’s downhill event at the 2026 Winter Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, crashing only seconds into her run. Vonn was airlifted from the mountain to Ca’ Foncello Hospital in Treviso, where doctors performed emergency orthopedic surgery later that afternoon.

“In the afternoon, she underwent orthopedic surgery to stabilise the fracture sustained in her left leg,” the hospital said in a statement, according to Reuters. The injury occurred in the same leg where Vonn had torn her ACL just a week before competition, compounding concerns about the severity of the crash.

The athlete responded to people online who criticized her during training on Friday, February 6: “My ACL was fully functioning until last Friday. Just because it seems impossible to you doesn’t mean it’s not possible. And yes, my ACL is 100% ruptured. Not 80% or 50%. It’s 100% gone.”

U.S. Ski & Snowboarding updated fans right after Vonn’s crash Sunday that she was in stable condition. “Lindsey Vonn sustained an injury, but is in stable condition and in good hands with a team of American and Italian physicians.,” the organization said in a statement shared on X.

Just 13 seconds into her run that morning, Vonn’s right ski pole caught a course marker, sending her hard onto the ice. She remained down for roughly 15 minutes as medical personnel treated her, at one point audibly reacting in pain, saying, “Oh my god,” before being transported off the course.

Despite the pain, Vonn was still showing her trademark grit and support for her teammates. Breezy Johnson went on to win gold in the event, and later revealed that Vonn was cheering her on even while being evacuated. “Her coach said she was cheering for me in the helicopter, so I hope for the best for her,” Johnson told reporters. “My heart aches for her. It’s such a brutal sport sometimes.”

Vonn’s family was also watching anxiously. Her sister spoke during NBC’s broadcast, calling the moment “scary” as stretchers appeared on the course. “That definitely was the last thing we wanted to see,” she said. “When that happens you’re just immediately hoping she’s okay.”

The crash marks a sobering moment in what had been an emotional return to the competition for Vonn, who has now competed in the Olympics a total of five times. This year is set to be her final time taking part in the games.

Willie Nelson's Guitar Tuner Dies After 40 Years of Tuning Trigger

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 1:50pm

For more than four decades, Willie Nelson's faithful guitar tuner, "Tunin' Tom" Hawkins, was as much a part of the legend behind Trigger as the guitar itself. Hawkins wasn't just a technician; he was the steady hand behind the instrument that helped shape Nelson's signature sound onstage for generations. His passing marks the end of an era in American music.

Trigger—the battered, beloved Martin N-20 nylon-string guitar Nelson has played since 1969—is one of the most recognizable instruments in music history. Its worn wood, gaping hole worn through years of intense playing, and signature tone have been at the heart of Nelson's performances for more than half a century. But keeping that unique instrument playable night after night has required more than love and respect. It took expertise and dedication.

That's where Tom Hawkins came in.

Hawkins was Nelson's guitar technician and tuner for roughly 40 years, responsible for ensuring Trigger was ready for every concert. Hawkins was often seen onstage or backstage meticulously tuning the guitar and preparing it for Nelson's distinctive finger-style and flatpick hybrid playing. His work wasn't glamorous, but it was vital. After all, a finely tuned Trigger was the foundation for Nelson's sound.

Hawkins became a familiar figure to fans and crew alike, known for his commitment to the music and the simple motto he always repeated: "Tune it or die." And Nelson's team took to Instagram this week to share that that's exactly what Hawkins did.

"Tom Hawkins, Willie's loyal guitar tech for 40 yrs, always said 'tune it or die,'" captioned the photo of Hawkins. "Mission accomplished."

View this post on Instagram

The heartbreaking news of Hawkins' passing in early February resonated through the music world, especially among Nelson fans who understood the quiet but significant role he played behind the scenes. The legacy of Tunin' Tom will live on every time the guitar rings out, a testament to his four decades of largely unseen loyalty.

Oncologists Are Begging People To Take This One Common Cancer Risk Factor Seriously

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 1:25pm

No one gets cancer on purpose. Yet, it's hard to find someone who the disease hasn't touched, whether they've personally received a cancer diagnosis or have a family member or friend who has.

The National Cancer Institute predicted that doctors would diagnose more than 2 million new cases of cancer in 2025, and more than 618,120 people would die from the disease. The most commonly diagnosed cancers are breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung and bronchus cancer, colon and rectum cancer and melanoma of the skin.

We haven't gotten the official National Cancer Institute report from 2025. Still, we do know that there are certain risk factors we can and cannot control. Your DNA? You can't change it, but genetics can increase your risk of some cancers, like breast cancer. Yet, you can take significant steps to lower your cancer odds, whether genetics are on your side or not. Think of core lifestyle habits, such as following a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

"It is vital to control your cancer risk because cancer is life-threatening and can shorten your lifespan," says Dr. Sandy Kotiah, MD, the director of The Neuroendocrine Tumor Center at Mercy in Baltimore. "Cancer is caused by damage to normal cells that cannot be repaired, so the cells lose control and continue to grow, causing failure of critical organs, such as the lungs and liver."

Instead, control what you can, including lowering your exposure to certain things that can raise your chances of developing cancer. Unsure where to start? Let's begin with this risk factor for cancers oncologists want people to take seriously.

Take This One Common Cancer Risk Factor Seriously, Oncologists Beg

Daniel Lozano Gonzalez/Getty Images

Oncologists stress it's vital to monitor your exposure to smoke and tobacco products.

"Smoke from cigarettes, pipes and cigars has dangerous chemicals such as nicotine, benzene, arsenic, formaldehyde, among others, which damage the airways, blood vessels and heart," warns Dr. Amna Sher, MD, a medical oncologist at the Stony Brook Cancer Center. "These chemicals also damage the DNA, which can cause mutations and lead to cancer development".

Importantly, you don't need to smoke cigarettes or other tobacco products to have this cancer risk factor. The CDC estimates that 10% to 20% of the people diagnosed with lung cancer each year never smoked or smoked less than 100 cigarettes ever.

Secondhand smoke is one reason for this grim statistic. "Secondhand smoke leads to inhalation of dangerous chemicals, which are carcinogens and contribute to the development of lung cancer as well as breast cancer, nasal sinus cavity cancer and nasopharyngeal cancer in adults," Dr. Sher says.

Dr. Bradley Hiatt, DO, of Mission Cancer + Blood, a part of University of Iowa Health Care, says other ways you can get exposed to smoke sources are:

  • Campfires
  • Grilling
  • Fireplaces
  • Automobiles

Research also suggests that long-term wildfire exposure can increase cancer risk.

Related: The Popular Cooking Method Oncologists Are Begging People To Limit

Smoke and Tobacco Exposure Is a Risk Factor for Many Cancers

While smoking exposure's effect on lung cancer is much discussed, Dr. Hiatt warns that it can also contribute to the following types of cancers:

  • Head and neck
  • Bladder
  • Esophageal
  • Kidney
  • Ureter
  • Stomach
  • Liver
  • Cervical and ovarian
  • Bowel
  • Acute myeloid leukemia

"It’s commonly understood that smoking is a cause of lung cancer, but these additional types of cancer are why it is important for those who smoke and the providers who care for these individuals to be aware of them, so that appropriate screening can be performed," Dr. Hiatt says.

Oh, and smoking can also raise your risk for other chronic illnesses, like heart disease.

"The other important damage is to the blood vessels and causes accelerated cholesterol plaque buildup that leads to heart attacks and strokes," Dr. Kotiah explains.

How To Lower Your Risk

One of the best ways to lower your cancer odds is not to start smoking if you don't currently, the oncologists Parade spoke with say. Unfortunately, you can still develop different cancers, including lung cancer, from other forms of smoke exposure, such as secondhand inhalation. Dr. Kotiah suggests choosing smoke-free places to hang out and eat. You can also make your home a no-smoking zone.

"Avoid inhaling or being around someone actively smoking," Dr. Hiatt adds. "Be proactive in minimizing exposure to other forms of smoke."

As for avoiding other types of smoke, it can be helpful to limit your exposure to campfires and avoid building too many fires if you have a wood-burning fireplace. And grilling is a great summer activity, but try to make sure to take breaks from the grill when you can and avoid letting smoke blow directly in your face.

People who currently smoke can also take proactive steps to kick the habit for good.

"Your primary care or pulmonologist can prescribe nicotine or medications to help you quit smoking," Dr. Kotiah shares. "There is also 1-800-QUIT-NOW or Smokefree.gov. There are apps as well, such as quitSTART."
