Beloved ’60s TV Star Makes Major Career Announcement After Grammy Nom

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 7:03am

Kathy Garver is entering 2026 with fresh momentum—and a new professional partnership to match.

The actress and voiceover icon, best known to generations of viewers as “Cissy” on the classic CBSsitcomFamily Affair, has signed with Allen Media Strategies, a Washington, D.C.–based media, marketing, and public relations firm. The agency will support Garver’s ongoing media outreach and promotional efforts as she continues to expand her work across multiple platforms.

In announcing the signing, Allen Media Strategies emphasized the remarkable scope of Garver’s career, which now spans more than six decades. While many fans associate her most closely with television stardom in the 1960s, Garver’s work has extended far beyond that era, encompassing film, animation, audiobooks, and extensive voiceover projects.

The timing of the announcement follows one of the most significant milestones of Garver’s career: her first Grammy nomination. Earlier this year, she was recognized in the Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording category for her narration of Elvis, Rocky & Me: The Carol Connors Story. The nomination placed Garver among a diverse and high-profile group of contenders, highlighting the growing visibility of audiobook narration as a performance category in its own right.

Although Garver did not take home the trophy, the nomination marked a major moment of recognition, particularly for an artist whose career has continued to evolve well beyond her early fame. In recent posts shared with fans, Garver has described the opening weeks of 2026 as an especially meaningful period, pointing to professional achievements and personal milestones converging at once.

"What a start to 2026! 🎉 Grammy nomination, Family Affair's 60th anniversary, a new book, and so much love from fans like you. Every role, every story, every moment has led here. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Here's to more adventures ahead! 💕✨," wrote the TV star.

The press release announcing her agency signing also spotlighted Garver’s long-standing reputation as a voiceover standout. Over the years, she has lent her voice to numerous animated series and projects, including Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, The New Yogi Bear Show, and Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos. Her audiobook work, which now spans dozens of titles, has become an increasingly prominent part of her career in recent years.

Allen Media Strategies said the new partnership will focus on connecting Garver’s legacy as a classic television favorite with today’s nostalgia-driven audiences, while also amplifying her current creative output. The firm specializes in positioning established cultural figures for modern media landscapes across television, radio, print, and digital platforms.

In addition to her recent Grammy recognition and agency signing, Garver is also preparing for the release of a new book later this month. Romancing with the Stars: Inspiring Hollywood Love Stories, co-written with Doug Hartline, is scheduled to arrive on February 14 and explores enduring partnerships from Hollywood’s golden age, drawing on classic film history and behind-the-scenes stories. In an interview with KGET in Bakersfield, California, Garver revealed that her most romantic moment was when she went on an African safari with her husband David Travis, who sadly passed away in 2025. Garver has since adopted a new furry friend after losing her husband and sister in the same year.

For Garver, the move signals yet another chapter in a career defined by longevity and reinvention. More than six decades after her earliest screen appearances, she remains an active presence in entertainment and, as her latest announcement makes clear, she’s still building toward what comes next.

Super Bowl LX Performers Send Message Before Bad Bunny's Halftime Show

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 7:01am

Super Bowl LX performers Charlie Puth, Coco Jones and Brandi Carlile are already setting the tone for game day, and they are pointing all eyes toward Bad Bunny’s upcoming halftime show

During a joint interview ahead of the Sunday event, the three artists shared what excites them most about the global superstar’s performance, praising his music, cultural impact and message of unity.

Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show, which is expected to run about 13 minutes, right in line with typical Super Bowl halftime performances. The Puerto Rican megastar comes into the event fresh off major Grammy wins, including recognition for his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, a project that celebrates Puerto Rican culture through a mix of traditional sounds and modern global music styles.

While Bad Bunny has kept the exact details of his halftime set under wraps, he has promised fans a “huge party” filled with culture and energy. Based on past performances and promotional clips, viewers can expect music that blends salsa, reggaeton, pop and traditional Puerto Rican sounds.

View this post on Instagram

Charlie Puth focused on Bad Bunny’s songwriting and emotional depth. He explained how the artist blends rhythm with feeling.

“What I love about his music so much… you can take any song of his and take the drums away, and it sounds like an emotional ballad,” Puth said. “Then when you put the drums and groove back in, it’s a ballad that gets everybody moving. I believe that’s how the best songs are made. They’re rhythmic ballads.”

Meanwhile, Coco Jones shared how Bad Bunny inspires her personally and artistically, especially through language and culture.

“I love telenovelas. It’s one of my favorite things to watch,” Jones said. “Whenever I’m listening to Latin music, I’m trying to see how good I am at speaking their language. Bad Bunny, you inspire me to be bilingual.”

Moreover, Brandi Carlile focused on Bad Bunny’s personality and presence, especially after seeing him recently at the Grammys.

“I just think he’s incredibly powerful,” Carlile said. “He radiates love and acceptance and conviction. I was just in the same room with him at the Grammys and I was so struck by it. This is going to be a really special house.”

Before the halftime show, Puth, Jones and Carlile will each perform during the pregame. Puth will sing the U.S. national anthem, Jones will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and Carlile will sing “America the Beautiful.”

Super Bowl LX will air on NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock on Sunday. The game will feature the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, but for many viewers, the entertainment lineup is just as exciting as the football.

If early reactions from fellow performers are any sign, Bad Bunny’s halftime show could become one of the most talked-about Super Bowl performances in recent years.

British Beauty Minnie Driver Celebrates 56th Birthday Soaking in Giant Bathtub in Mexican Villa

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 7:00am

Minnie Driver knows how to celebrate her 56th birthday in style.

The beloved British actress, who left her mark on American cinema starting in the ’90s with parts in films like Circle of Friends and Grosse Pointe Blank, earned tremendous acclaim for her role as Skylar in 1997’s iconic film Good Will Hunting, alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. More recently, she starred in the ABCsitcomSpeechless, playing the mother of a child with cerebral palsy, and completed a five-episode run on the Netflix hit Emily in Paris. But no matter what show she's featured on, Driver continues to dazzle her followers with her trademark curls and natural good looks.

After celebrating her 56th birthday on January 31, Driver took to Instagram to share some stunning snaps from a luxurious trip to Mexico.

"I haven’t been on a proper beach holiday since 2022. This epic, birthday time stays in my heart forever . ♥️🐋♥️ @oneandonlypalmilla#kerznerinternational 📷 @addisonodea," the actress captioned the photo carousel, which showed her lounging in an oversized bathtub in a Mexican villa.

Driver’s More Than a Pretty Face

Driver may be an absolute beauty, but she's got the brains to back it up. She recently took to social media to call out past tabloid coverage that criticized her looks. In the first throwback photo, the natural-faced actress appeared with minimal makeup and her hair in its natural curls. To the right, another photo showed Driver with full makeup for the red carpet. The headline read “Minnie Driver…From Drab To Fab.”

In the caption, Driver had a few things to say about the rude statements.

“And we wonder why the labels that are stuck on women become internally weaponised and pinball around our heads, doing their worst. Or at least, women wonder. F— labels. Plain Janes and Hot Girls are just women. There was absolutely no recourse pre-social media, no way of adding your voice to those who described you with such authority. I’m sorry I believed them at the time, I’m so glad it was always a lie. Chin up Ladies ♥️ #selflove #drab #fab #bollock,” she captioned the post.

Driver also shared a video of herself standing up to the headlines, Parade previously reported.

“I can’t remember what rag that was in, but yeah, that was being a young woman in the 90s. What is the rejoinder to that *****Is it ‘I’m back to drab?’ Because I think that probably resonates with a lot of women,” she said.

Last month, the trailer for Run Away, the upcoming Harlan Coben 8-part series, was released. It stars Driver alongside James NesbittRuth Jones, and Alfred Enoch.

According to the synopsis shared by Netflix with Just Jared, the series follows “Simon (Nesbitt), who had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter, Paige, ran away and everything fell apart.”

This Classic ’70s Series Opener Was Ranked the ‘Greatest TV Theme Song of All Time'

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 6:45am

In the 1970s, TV theme songs were big business. The opening song from The Rockford Files became one of the biggest radio hits of 1975, and the instrumental Theme From S.W.A.T hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February the following year.

But it was another iconic ‘70s opener that was ranked "The Greatest TV Theme Song" of all time. A ranking posted by Rolling Stone listed The Jeffersons theme song, “Movin’ On Up,” as the best TV theme song ever. The Jeffersons theme beat out the openers for the Twilight Zone, Game of Thrones, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and even The Brady Bunch for the honor.

Rolling Stone noted that “Movin’ On Up” was “everything you want from a theme song” and described it as “a rat-a-tat gospel number designed to get viewers out of their seats like they’re leaping up from a church.”

The Jeffersons, a spin-off of All in the Family, starred Sherman Hemsley as George Jeggerson, the owner of a successful dry cleaning franchise, and Isabel Sanford as his wife, Louise. Marla Gibbs played maid Florence Johnston, while Franklin Cover and Roxie Roker played wealthy neighbors Tom and Helen Willis. The series debuted on CBS on Jan. 18, 1975, and ran until 1985.

The “Movin’ On Up” theme song became an anthem for the American Dream as the Jeffersons “moved on up” from their humble Queens abode to a deluxe apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The Jeffersons was one of the first primetime television shows to feature an affluent Black family.

The song was co-written by songwriter Jeff Barry (“Chapel of Love,” “Da Doo Ron Ron”), and actress and songwriter Ja’net DuBois, who played Willona Woods on the Norman LearsitcomGood Times. DuBois was also the singer of The  Jeffersons theme song with a gospel choir providing backup.

RELATED: Maureen McCormick’s Husband Had No Idea She Was Famous

The theme song had special meaning for DuBois, who had helped her real-life family move on up.

In an interview posted by Pop Goes the Culture TV, DuBois recalled that she approached Lear with an offer to create some music for him. While he was skeptical, the legendary TV producer gave her a shot.

“What he didn't know was I'd written music before in New York, that I knew about music,” DuBois said of Lear. “But he looked at me like, ‘All right.’ He said, ‘Okay, I tell you what I’ll do. I have a new show coming up, I won't tell you too much about it.'"

With few details to go on, DuBois said she went to her mom for advice, and her mother advised her to write about her own childhood dream of moving to the East Side. Lear ultimately loved the song and asked DuBois how she knew what to write about.

“The song was everywhere,” she added of the success of the TV theme. “Everywhere I'm known for the song.  Churches, I sing the song everywhere because people want to hear the song. I called myself 'The One Song Chick.'"

“The reason why it's famous is because it was my dream,” she added.

DuBois died in 2020. Her daughter Kesha Gupta-Fields shared that "Movin’ on Up” was really written in honor of DuBois’ mother.

“She wrote that song as a promise to her mother, that when she obtained a certain level of stardom, that her dream was to essentially have her mom live in a deluxe apartment,” Gupta-Fields said, per The New York Times. “That was written and sung as a gift to her mother, Lillian DuBois.”

You'll Definitely Want to Steal This Shockingly Simple Trick for Keeping Guacamole Green

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 6:45am

Keeping guacamole green is an age-old snack struggle. Whether it's for leftovers from a Cinco de Mayo party, for a game day appetizer or simply making the avocadodip a bit in advance, it can be tough to keep your guac looking appetizing for more than a few hours. Once the surface turns that unappealing brown color, your options are to scrape off the browned bits or vigorously stir everything together, turning the whole thing a slightly darker shade of green.

Related: 50 Cinco de Mayo Quotes and Sayings to Kickstart Your Fiesta!

Neither of those options is ideal, so before we started in on our Super Bowl snack-making this year, we decided to do a little test to find out the best way to keep guacamole green. After smashing, mashing, storing and observing, we had a clear winner and new go-to method for protecting this precious dip.

Why Does Guacamole Turn Brown?

Nathan Hutsenpiller

So what exactly is causing guacamole to change its color in the first place? In short, oxidation. When an avocado is cut in half, the enzymes in its flesh begin to react almost immediately with oxygen in the air. The more time spent directly in contact with oxygen, the more discoloration you'll have.

Now that we knew that oxygen was to blame, we headed online to sort through posts and videos and comment threads where folks claim to have solved this problem once and for all.

3 Popular Ways to Keep Guacamole Green

Nathan Hutsenpiller

After combing through the many methods online, we narrowed our test down to three popular ways to keep guacamole green.

1. Put plastic wrap directly on the surface

For this method, you put your guacamole in a container, smooth the top, then stick the plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guac. The idea here is to cover the entire surface of the dip so no oxygen can get to your snack.

2. Add the avocado pit and cover with plastic wrap

Perhaps one of the few very unique methods, this version uses the same plastic wrap cover-up but with a twist. Once the guacamole has been transferred to a container, drop the pit directly in the center, smooth out the surface and cover the surface with plastic wrap, as you'd do in method #1. People swear by the magic of the avocado pit.

3. Cover it with water

For this method, you spoon your guacamole into a container, smooth the surface, then gently pour in enough water to cover the dip by about 1/2 inch. People who like this method mention the fact that water doesn't affect the flavor of the guacamole and it creates a barrier to keep out the oxygen. It's also super easy and free.

The Absolute Best Way to Keep Guacamole Green Three guacamoles after the test

Nathan Hutsenpiller

As you can see, the winner was abundantly clear.

Although we took our time and tried to make sure every bit of the guacamole was covered with plastic wrap, it was still very easy to get small bubbles on the surface, which allowed oxygen to sneak in. The pit version suffered a similar fate. The guac that wasn't in contact with the pit was as discolored as the plain plastic wrap test. On the bright side (literally), the guacamole that was in contact with the pit was perfectly green once the pit was removed because the pit created an oxygen-proof barrier.

But covering the guacamole with water was the hands-down winner. The water kept the dip nice and green, and it was easy to just pour the water out of the container and stir up the guac. There was very little water left after we poured it off, so it didn't dilute the flavor of the dip. For ease, effectiveness and economy, this is absolutely the method we'll be using from now on.

Savannah Guthrie's Mom Overnight Update Includes Police Activity at Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni's House

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 6:35am

As the nation went to sleep on Friday, Feb. 6, the search for Nancy Guthrie continued in Arizona. That search has now entered day seven. Authorities believe that Nancy was abducted from her home on Sunday, Feb 1, in the middle of the night.

Friday started off as a relatively quiet day in the case, with little to not information coming out until the late afternoon. At that time, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos put out a statement saying that authorities were aware of a "new message" that had been sent in about Nancy, though he didn't elaborate.

Within about 30 minutes of that statement being released, reporters camped outside of Nancy's home were asked to clear out for "investigative purposes." The street in front of Nancy's home was closed down and investigators were seen combing the area around Nancy's home—and on her roof—via drone footage that was shared on various news stations and on social media.

Around 10 p.m., a tow truck showed up at Nancy's house and towed a dark vehicle, presumably Nancy's car, from the garage.

At 11 p.m., NewsNation journalist Brian Entin sent out a message on X.

"3 deputies just arrived at Annie Guthrie’s house," he wrote. Within 30 minutes, he had an update. "And they left. Didn’t go inside."

Annie Guthrie and her husband Tommaso Cioni, live about 10 minutes down the road from Annie's mother. Annie and her husband may have been the last people to see Nancy prior to her disappearance. According to authorities, Nancy had taken an Uber to their home on Saturday, Jan. 31 where they all had dinner and spent some time as a family. Later that night, Sheriff Nanos told The New York Times that Cioni gave Nancy a ride back home.

Per the official timeline released by the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Nancy's garage opened at 9:48 p.m. and closed two minutes later. It wasn't until 1:47 a.m. that Nancy's doorbell camera disconnected. At 2:12 a.m. a person was detected on camera, though authorities say they don't have footage of this individual (or individuals). At 2:28 a.m., Nancy's pacemaker disconnected from her Apple Watch. What happens next is still a mystery.

Mike Nesmith Once Said He Was a Side Man to This Monkees Superstar

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 6:09am

In his final major interview, Mike Nesmith reflected on the Monkees’ collective success and candidly admitted he sometimes felt like a side man to one of the band’s superstars.

In October 2021, less than two months before his death at 78, Nesmith spoke with Rolling Stone. While on the final leg of The Monkees’ Farewell Tour with bandmate Micky Dolenz, he sat down for a wide-ranging interview about his life, the band, and the legacy he would leave behind.

Best known as a member of The Monkees band and the star of their namesake television series, Nesmith candidly revealed that during the band's heyday, he felt as if he was a side man to Davy Jones, the group's primary vocalist and percussionist. However, he remarks came from a sense of respect for Jones' abilities as a performer, not out of envy.

He revealed, "For me, David was the Monkees. They were his band. We were his side men."

"He was the focal point of the romance, the lovely boy, innocent and approachable. Micky was his Bob Hope. In those two — like Hope and Crosby — was the heartbeat of the show.”

RELATED: The Four-Letter Word That Got ‘The Monkees’ Censored

Despite Nesmith’s remarks, Monkees fans have always recognized the contributions of every band member, Jones, Dolenz, and Peter Tork, with each bringing a unique musical and songwriting voice to the quartet. Their combined talents helped define the Monkees’ signature sound and enduring legacy in pop music.

The musician reflected on working with Jones, admitting he “told great jokes. Very nicely developed sense of the absurd — Pythonesque — actually, Beyond the Fringe — but you get my point."

"We would rush to each other anytime we heard a new joke and tell it to each other and laugh like crazy. David had a wonderful laugh, infectious. He would double up, crouching over his knees, and laugh till he ran out of breath. Whether he told the joke or not. We both did.”

After Jones' death, Nesmith shared his thoughts about his bandmate to Rolling Stone. "I think David was the first one selected, and they built the show around him. English (all the rage), attractive, and a very accomplished singer and dancer, right off the Broadway stage from a hit musical. None of the other three of us had any of those chops. "

Micky Dolenz is the last surviving Monkees member. Davy Jones died in February 2012, and Peter Tork in February 2019.

If you’ve ever struggled to feel both comfortable and polished while traveling, a thoughtfully chosen lounge set can completely change how you pack. Travel days come with unpredictable temperatures, long stretches of sitting and limited suitcase space.

As a frequent flyer who covers fashion and travel essentials for outlets like Coveteur, Martha Stewart, and Travel+Leisure—and who has tested everything from airport-friendly separates to full sweatsuits in transit—I’ve learned that the right matching set strikes the ideal balance between comfort and intention from takeoff to arrival.

To find the best lounge sets worth traveling in, I spoke with two celebrity stylists, Rap Sarmiento and Stephanie “Lex” Alexandris, about what makes a set truly flight-ready and the styles they recommend for everything from red-eyes to transcontinental trips. “Lounge sets are one of the greatest travel hacks because they allow you to feel comfortable and look pulled together. You never know what the temperature will be on the plane, so they allow for easy layering while also freeing up space in your luggage,” Sarmiento says.

Ahead, seven standout lounge sets that blend comfort and polish for seamless travel.

This matching hoodie-and-jogger set from The Gap feels elevated without trying too hard. The fabric has a soft, brushed finish that makes long stretches in a plane seat far more comfortable, while the relaxed shape keeps it from looking sloppy. When styled with a structured coat or sleek sneakers, it reads intentional rather than purely athletic.

“The CashSoft Gap Blend is the perfect blend of chic and comfort at a great price point. For the traveler on a long-haul flight, this set is more polished than standard sweats when paired with a long wool coat. It's also a great set that can make the road trip up to the mountains feel like first class,” Sarmiento says.

Best Wide-Leg Set: H&M 2-Piece Sweatshirt and Joggers Set

“The wide-leg set from H&M is for the traveler whose comfort comes first. It's ideal for a red eye and grabbing a latte upon landing before you can check into your hotel. Pair with a leather jacket to pull it all together.”

The wide-leg silhouette gives this set a breezier, more modern feel than traditional joggers. It’s especially practical for overnight flights when you want room to move and layer. Throw on a leather jacket or tailored blazer and it instantly feels city-ready instead of sleepwear-adjacent.

Best Sporty Set: Splits59 Heritage Velour Bomber and Track Pants

Whether you're navigating a packed terminal or heading straight to dinner after landing, this velour bomber and matching track pants strike the right balance between comfort and intention. It’s the kind of set that feels effortless in transit but styled enough that you won’t feel underdressed once you step off the plane.

Best Pajama-Style Set: Quince Dream Lounge Oversized Long Sleeve Pajama Set

“This Quince set is understated and so simple — it’s a no brainer. Pair with a chic pair of sneakers and a long overcoat, you're ready to fly,” Alexandris says. An all-black set is a wardrobe staple, and this loose pajama-style option feels luxurious without trying too hard. Best Terry Set: Natori Terry Lounge Set

“This Terry set by Natori screams resort. You can arguably shift from lounge to plane to hotel lobby for a margarita in this set with a simple change from ballet flats to sandals,” Alexandris says. Made from lightweight terry fabric and its easy drape and clean lines, this set feels intentional rather than overly casual. It’s the kind of piece you can board in, unpack in and head straight out to dinner without needing a full outfit change.

Best Waffle Set: PJ Salvage Cross Stitch Casuals Navy Lounge Set

“This waffle lounge set from PJ Salvage has a youthful, sporty energy. The relaxed fit and lightweight fabric are ideal for travel. Add a blanket or some extra layers on the plane if it's chilly—ideal for the girl who hates to overheat.” Alexandris says. This set is ideal for travelers who prefer lighter layers and breathable fabrics, especially on flights where temperatures fluctuate. The textured knit adds dimension without feeling heavy, making it comfortable for extended sitting.

Best 3-Piece Cardigan Set: State of Day Women’s Solid Knit 3-Pc. Pajama Set

A coordinated cardigan, top and pant set gives you flexibility when cabin temperatures fluctuate. The third piece adds dimension and makes the outfit feel styled rather than thrown together. It’s especially useful for long-haul travel when layering becomes essential. “This cardigan set from State of Day is the obvious choice to look effortlessly cool and polished on a transcontinental flight. Reaching the destination sometimes requires patience and flexibility, and feeling confident in your outfit can quite literally soothe and comfort you on the journey,” Alexandris says.

American Airlines Is Launching New Nonstop Flights to the Laid-Back European City Everyone Wants to Visit

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 5:10am

Porto has quietly become one of Europe’s most buzzed-about summer destinations—and now it’s about to get much easier to reach from the U.S. American Airlines has announced a new nonstop route to Porto, launching in summer 2027, giving travelers a direct line to Portugal’s laid-back, wine-soaked northern city just as “Euro summer” planning hits its peak.

If Lisbon feels polished and buzzy, Porto is its more relaxed, romantic sibling—a city where time is measured in walks along the Douro River, long lunches that linger and evenings that revolve around shared bottles of vinho verde and port. It’s a city known for its colorful riverfront, blue-and-white azulejo tiles and food scene that’s far more exciting than its size might suggest. Add in easy access to the Douro Valley—home to terraced vineyards, river cruises and dramatic scenery—and it’s no surprise Porto keeps landing on “where to go next” lists.

American’s new nonstop will be operated on the airline’s Airbus A321XLR, a long-range, narrow-body aircraft designed to open up exactly these kinds of routes—cities that don’t always get nonstop service, but travelers are eager to visit. For passengers, that also means a more premium experience than you might expect on a single-aisle jet. The flight will feature American’s Flagship Suite® seats up front, complete with privacy doors and lie-flat comfort, along with Premium Economy and Main Cabin options for travelers looking to tailor their trip.

“Porto is exactly the type of new market the Airbus A321XLR enables us to serve,” Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning Brian Znotins told team members at the airline’s annual leadership conference this week, according to a recent American Airlines' newsroom release. “While we’ll have even more new routes to share later this year for summer 2027, we’re eager to continue growing our long-haul network that features service to new destinations, including Budapest, Hungary and Prague that will start this summer.”

The Porto route also complements American’s existing year-round service to Lisbon, giving Portugal-bound travelers more flexibility—and a compelling reason to skip backtracking across the country. Fly into Porto, explore the north, then work your way south or simply settle in and enjoy the city at a slower pace.

With this new nonstop, Porto officially moves from “great idea, slightly tricky to get to” to an easy yes. And for travelers plotting their next European summer, that timing couldn’t be better.

Celebrate Soulfully Is Back at Disney Parks for Black History Month

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 4:10am

If you’re heading to Disney Parks this month—or already counting down to a February visit—there’s more happening than rides and fireworks. Black History Month is officially underway, and Disney is marking it with Celebrate Soulfully, a series of experiences unfolding right now across both coasts that spotlight music, art, food and culture in ways that feel joyful, communal and easy to discover between attractions.

At Disneyland Resort, the month includes the return of Celebrate Gospel concerts at Downtown Disney, lighting up the LIVE! Stage over two February weekends. Grammy Award–winning artists Bishop Hezekiah Walker and Yolanda Adams headline the performances, alongside community choirs from across Southern California. The concerts don’t require park admission, making them a flexible stop whether you’re in the parks all day or just swinging by at night.

Throughout the resort, newly debuted heritage trail displays are already in place, honoring influential Black leaders, artists and thinkers. Guests will find these tributes woven into familiar areas—from Frontierland to Buena Vista Street—including displays recognizing Leah Chase near Tiana’s Palace and Disney Legend Floyd Norman in Disney California Adventure.

Food is also part of the celebration, with limited-time dishes available now through early March. Highlights include a French Quarter–inspired fried chicken bowl at Tiana’s Palace and New Orleans BBQ shrimp at Lamplight Lounge.

At Walt Disney World Resort, Celebrate Soulfully kicked off this week and continues throughout February. A special Magic Kingdom parade moment on February 9, led by Toya Johnson-Rushing as honorary Grand Marshal, sets the tone, followed by performances, art and food offerings across the resort.

EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts features appearances by Black artists and the return of the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, while Disney’s Animal Kingdom brings the energy with drumming groups and Caribbean street performances. Disney Springs adds vibrant murals and installations by Black artists, many of which are already up and on view.

Celebrate Soulfully is unfolding across Disney Parks all month long, weaving music, art, food and storytelling into the everyday rhythm of a Disney visit. Whether you catch a gospel performance, spot a heritage display or stumble onto a live show between attractions, the celebration adds another layer of joy, history and connection to a February visit.

'90s Rock Band's Beloved Hit Is Suddenly Climbing the Charts 35 Years Later

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 4:00am

As many of us who were teenagers in the '90s might recall, Pearl Jam's "Black" (from the 1991 album Ten) was pretty much the go-to song for young Gen X-ers going through a breakup. Eddie Vedder's passionate vocals and desperate lyrics were just the thing for high school heartbreak: "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life / I know you'll be a star / In somebody else's sky / But why, why, why can't it be / Oh, can't it be mine?"

Now, 35 years later, it turns out those lovelorn lines are just as relevant as ever.

As Forbes reported, Pearl Jam's "Black" is back on the charts; specifically, Billboard's Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, which tallies hard rock songs getting the most streams on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. "Black" debuted at #24, the only hard rock debut of the week.

Somewhat surprisingly, this is only the second time Pearl Jam has appeared on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. A little less than three years ago, "Evenflow" enjoyed a short stay on the same chart, though it peaked at #25.

Pearl Jam's 'Black' was never released as a single

While it's been a fan-favorite for decades, "Black" was never actually released as a single. Though the record company hoped to turn the emotional tune into a big hit, Vedder refused, according to Genius.

"Fragile songs get crushed by the business," he said. "I don't want to be a part of it. I don't think the band wants to be part of it."

As the singer once explained, "Black" is really about "letting go," per Grunge.

"It's very rare for a relationship to withstand the Earth's gravitational pull and where it's going to take people and how they're going to grow," he said. "I've heard it said that you can't really have a true love unless it was a love unrequited. It's a harsh one, because then your truest one is the one you can't have forever."

Harsh indeed.

Nike’s 'Comfortable' Retro Sneakers Are on Sale for $61, and They Go With Everything

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 1:45am

Nike has no shortage of iconic silhouettes, but the brand’s deep catalogue means that some of them don’t get enough love. The Killshot 2s, for example, originally dropped in 1979 as tennis/racquetball shoes, and were later re-released alongside J.Crew as an exclusive collab. The shoes were notoriously hard to get, but Nike ended that in 2019 when they brought them back, and now you can get a pair of them for nearly 40% off.

Normally priced at $100, the Nike Killshot 2s are now just $61 through the brand’s site. The pink-and-white option is the only one going for this price, but the purple-and-white shoes are also on sale for $64.

A longtime favorite gets a lighter, more laid-back update with this version of the Killshot 2. The textile upper keeps things breathable while still holding up to daily wear, with a gum rubber sole for reliable traction and a nod to the shoe’s vintage roots. They’re super clean and versatile, with a style that works just as well with jeans as it does with leggings or a dress.

Related: Nike’s Skate-Inspired Nike Jordans Are on Sale for $72, and They’re 'Easy to Wear All Day'

One helpful shopper wrote that the shoes are “so cute and fun” and “very comfortable.” A second reviewer who had been eying these shoes for over a month finally grabbed them and said they’re “a good alternative to Sambas.” They just look great, too, with one reviewer writing, “I’ve gotten lots of compliments on them,” and they “go with everything.”

There are a ton of ways to style these shoes as well: “They’re perfect with jeans, leggings, and even sundresses.” They’re versatile in use, too, with one reviewer writing that they’re “excellent looking walking/tourist shoes.” A handful of shoppers did note that the silhouette runs a tad big, so you may want to go a half size down if you’re between sizes.

An underrated silhouette with tons of history, the Nike Killshot 2s are available now for $61. Since only one colorway is going for this price right now, it’s a good idea to grab a pair that fits before it’s too late.

December 10 Just Dropped the Live Version of 'Run My Way,' and It's 'Serving Perfection'

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 12:43am

This new performance offers listeners a fresher, raw take on the song, showcasing the band's vocal chemistry and the kind of showmanship that's helped them rapidly ascend in the music world... already.

The group—Cruz Lee-Ojo, Danny Bretherton, Hendrik Christoffersen, John Fadare, Josh Olliver, Nicolas Alves, and Seán Hayden—quickly built a wave of buzz through behind-the-scenes performances and covers during the show.

Then, their first original song, "Run My Way," dropped on January 30, 2026, marking a pivotal moment for the band. The track mixes catchy pop hooks with an upbeat tempo that leans into classic boy band sensibilities while nodding toward a modern sound. It offers a blend that fans have embraced rather enthusiastically.

The stripped-back song, shared in another YouTube video (below), highlights tight harmonies, confident vocals, and a palpable rapport among the members.

Social media users have applauded not just the polished studio vibes but the authenticity and energy of the live version. Many of them commented, "I'm brickin' it," which the boys said quite often throughout the Netflix series. Delta Is Bringing Back Its Coast-to-Coast Flight—and With Lie-Flat Seats

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 12:18am

Delta Air Lines is reportedly reviving a popular coast-to-coast service—and this time with lie-flat business-class seats for a premium experience. After a seven-year hiatus, the carrier is restoring its nonstop route between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, California, starting May 7, 2026.

According to The Points Guy, the service will be operated on a Boeing 757 aircraft. It will feature 16 Delta One lie-flat seats (for the first time on the New York-Orange County route), 44 Delta Comfort+ seats, and 108 standard seats in Delta's Main cabin.

View this post on Instagram

Delta shared the news on Instagram, captioning a photo of a Laguna Beach view: "Fly into Orange County nonstop from six cities, including our new JFK-SNA route starting May 7th."

Frequent travelers with Delta have already expressed their excitement, sharing that they "love flying in and out of SNA," which can often be less chaotic than other nearby airports in California.

View this post on Instagram

The announcement underscores how fiercely airlines are competing for premium travelers on long domestic routes. Delta's decision to bring back the JFK–SNA flight—previously discontinued due to airport slot constraints—reflects sustained demand for higher-end amenities on transcontinental hops, especially among business travelers and leisure flyers seeking comfort without transiting through multiple airports.

For many customers, lie-flat seats signal a significant upgrade from standard domestic first class. They allow passengers to stretch out fully on longer-haul flights, which can be a game-changer for coast-to-coast travel.

But the availability of lie-flat seats means more than just comfort. Travelers who book Delta One can also expect perks such as priority boarding, access to Delta's exclusive lounges (including the Delta One Lounge at JFK), enhanced dining, and elevated service, which are all hallmarks of Delta's premium product.

Delta is basically betting that these enhanced comforts will draw loyal flyers who are willing to pay more for a domestic flight that feels nearly as luxurious as some international services. It's a strategic play as airlines vie for premium travel dollars in 2026.
