Who Is Chuck Norris' Wife? All About Gena O'Kelley and Their Kids

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:48pm

Chuck Norris left behind a wife and five adult children when he died on March 19, 2026.

The actor was first married for 30 years, then for nearly 30 more before his death.

His wife at the time of his passing was Gena O'Kelley, who shared his love of fitness, prayer and giving back—and his kids share his love of gis, geri and gedan barai.

"To us, wellness consists of many components such as time with loved ones, because personal well-being includes cultivating healthy relationships," she told NewBeauty in 2023. "Our children are also devoted martial artists so it’s nice that they get to experience that with their father. We believe that a family that trains together stays together. We also try to get a regular workout on our Total Gym because it is such an effective form of exercise." (Of course!)

Get to know the women who stole the Walker, Texas Ranger star's heart, as well as the children who say they hope to keep his butt-kicking legacy alive.

Who is Chuck Norris' wife?

At the time of his death, Norris was married to Gena O'Kelley.

The pair met in 1997 when Norris was on a date with someone else. He wrote in his memoir Against All Odds that she visited him on set the next day, and he invited her to dinner that night.

"I wanted to get to know Gena better, so I asked her to return to Dallas as soon as possible," he wrote (via PEOPLE). "She came back a couple of weeks later, and our friendship grew into a dating relationship. Before long, I felt myself falling head over heels in love."

(No word on what happened to the poor woman he was on that other date with.)

They married on Nov. 28, 1998.

O'Kelley is a former model and TV personality, with appearances in Walker, Texas Ranger and Total Gym infomercials (who'd have thought?!).

She now serves as CEO of her and Norris' water bottling facility, CForce, and is co-founder with Norris of their Kickstart Kids foundation.

"One of our favorite shared passions that people often overlook is giving back to the community," she told NewBeauty in 2023. "We started Kickstart Kids, which is truly a fantastic organization that teaches martial arts and character development to students. We’ve reached more than 100,000 kids and the breakthroughs that we’ve seen mean the world to us."

What happened to Chuck Norris's wife?

According to Norris and O'Kelley, after an MRI scan in 2013, O'Kelley developed gadolinium poisoning, a reaction to a dye in the contrast agent injections used for many MRIs. She suffered kidney problems and rheumatoid arthritis after getting the injection, Hello! reported, and the couple spent $2 million trying to raise awareness of the condition and hold the drug companies who produce the contrast agent accountable. Norris had to take significant time away from Hollywood to be O'Kelley's caretaker until she was properly diagnosed and treated.

What is the age difference between Chuck Norris and his wife?

Norris was 23 years older than his second wife, O'Kelley. He and his first wife only had a one-year age difference.

How many times did Chuck Norris marry? Dianne Holechek and Chuck Norris in March 1981

Norris has been married twice.

His first wife, Dianne Holechek, was his high school sweetheart: They started dating when he was 16 and she was 15, and tied the knot in 1958—when he was 18 and she was 17!

They separated in 1988 and finalized their divorce in 1989.

He met O'Kelley eight years later and married her after dating her for about a year. They were together until his death in March 2026.

Does Chuck Norris have an illegitimate child?

That's a rude way to put it, but yes, he did have a child out of wedlock.

While Norris and Holechek were married and he was serving in the Air Force, he had an affair with a woman named Johanna—who didn't know he was married, so don't call her a homewrecker! Johanna had a daughter named Dina.

Norris only found out about Dina when she was 26 years old and wrote him a letter.

“I was going through my mail at home and I see this letter and I open it up,” he told Entertainment Tonight in 2004 (via the Daily Mail). “It’s from Dina, and she says, ‘I’m your daughter from a past experience,’ and she said, ‘I found out you were my father when I was 16, but my mother said you were married and we shouldn’t interfere with your family.' ”

Norris admitted he was reluctant to meet her at first, but is glad he did, because they have a close relationship now.

“I look at her and it’s so amazing," he said. "Because I’m looking at her, and she’s staring at me, and we just sort of gravitate toward each other, and we just went into each other’s arms and started crying."

Why did Chuck Norris leave his first wife?

Norris and Holechek never publicly stated the reason they split, but they remained amicable co-parents and friends throughout the rest of their respective lives post-divorce.

Is Chuck Norris' ex-wife still alive?

Sadly, Holechek died in December 2025. She was 85 years old and had battled dementia for years.

After her passing, Norris paid a sweet tribute to her, writing that Dianne was "an incredible person ... she was kind, intelligent and lived life to the fullest."

He also noted, "She was also a loving and devoted mother to our sons, Mike and Eric."

Does Chuck Norris have any biological children? Chuck Norris and his son Eric Norris in 1990

All of Norris's children are biologically his own.

He and Holechek shared sons Michael (born Oct. 4, 1962) and Eric (born May 20, 1965). He and O'Kelley are parents to twins Dakota Alan and Danilee Kelly, born Aug. 30, 2001. He is also father to Dina, born in 1964, through his affair during his marriage to Holechek.

Norris' twins are Dakota Alan Norris and Danilee Kelly Norris.

Danilee paid tribute to Norris after his death, writing in part on Instagram, "I don’t think grief is a good enough word to describe the emotions my family and I are going through right now.. losing a parent is something that you are never prepared for. Before I take the much needed time for myself and my family, I wanted to dedicate this post to my sweet father and acknowledge the amazing man he is."

She continued, "My dad was my protector the moment I was born and as soon as he took me in his arms, I’ve been his little girl. That was something I would always acknowledge even when I was too big to be cradled properly ... My dad loved so deeply and cared for every single person in his life with so much tenderness."

After thanking God for giving her Norris as a father, she concluded her post, "Thank you, Dad, for supporting me in all my passions and for pushing me to not shy away from the impossible. Thank you for your constant compassion and for loving me so much that it’s made me learn to love myself. I promise I will always and forever try to make you proud even if you already reminded me every day that it was impossible not to. I love you forever."

Dakota, who followed in his father's footsteps in studying martial arts, also paid tribute to Norris, praising his generosity and courage.

"You lived your life with purpose and with love for all people," he wrote in part. "You were the greatest father God could have ever given me and the finest man I’ve ever known. No matter what I was going through, you were always there. You made sure I knew how much you loved me. Honest to God, I don’t think there was a single day that went by where you didn’t say it. I’m so proud to be your son. The memories we made, the lessons you taught me, and the constant laughs we shared will stay with me for the rest of my life."

"Thank you for everything you gave to our family and for the example you set every day," Dakota ended his post. "I hope I can live a life that honors you and makes you proud. I love you, Dad. I’ll miss you forever."

How many grandchildren does Chuck Norris have?

At the time of his death, Norris had six grandchildren (and was expecting a seventh, as son Michael Norris' wife announced she was pregnant in January 2026).

Dame Jenni Murray, Legendary Journalist and Broadcaster, Dead at 75

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:41pm

Dame Jenni Murray, a longtime journalist and broadcaster for BBC, has died.

Murray, who presented BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour for more than 30 years, was just 75 years old.

"We are very sad to learn of the death of Dame Jenni Murray," her talent management firm Knight Ayton said in a statement to BBC on Friday, March 20. "We started representing Jenni in 2020 as she was leaving Woman's Hour after a long career at Radio 4. True to her spirit of fun, she surprised many by taking part in ITV's The Real Full Monty to great acclaim the same year. The announcement of her participation made front page news. Her reason for taking part was simple. To encourage more women to check for breast cancer."

While her cause of death remains unknown, Murray announced her breast cancer diagnosis in 2006.

Before her departure from BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour in 2020, Murray was recognized as the longest-serving host of the program after joining in 1987.

"This is incredibly sad news and our thoughts are with all of Dame Jenni’s family and friends. Dame Jenni was, simply put, a broadcasting icon," BBC director-general Tim Davie said. "Throughout her three groundbreaking decades on Woman’s Hour, Jenni created a safe space for her audience thanks to her warmth, intelligence and courage."

According to The Independent, "she was made a dame in 2011 in recognition of her contribution to broadcasting and was awarded an OBE in 1999."

Murray interviewed powerful figures throughout her career including Margaret Thatcher, Gloria Steinem, Bette Davis, Monica Lewinsky and Hillary Clinton.

"Jenni leaves an indelible legacy on generations of listeners. We are profoundly grateful for her outstanding contribution to Radio 4, and she will be deeply missed," director of BBC speech audio Mohit Bakaya said.

Remember the Pepsi Jet? 10 '90s Food Scandals That Still Feel Unreal

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:30pm

The 1990s were a decade chock full of innovation, experimentation and bombastic advertisements. The years that brought us classics like the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series, the X Games, grungemusic and Friends were also responsible for famous food creations and even more famous food flops.

From major recalls that plagued businesses to lawsuits you'd never expect to win, the '90s saw its fair share of food scandals, innovation disasters and ahead-of-their-time creations. While some businesses managed to power through the negative press, others proved to be no match for the consequences of their mistakes, showing that the food industry can be very unforgiving, where big risks don't always pay off.

10 Food Scandals From the '90s You Forgot About

With '90s nostalgia securing a rent-free space in all of our minds, we've rounded up 10 food scandals from the decade that you may have never heard of or otherwise totally forgot about. Some brands stood the test of time despite their blunders, while others did everything in their power to capitalize on the wild‑west nature of product creation. Follow along to see which ones jog your memory most.

1. Jack in the Box—E. Coli (1993)

In 1993, a deadly E. coli outbreak was traced back to undercooked hamburger patties sold at Jack in the Box locations across several West Coast states. More than 700 people ended up getting sick after consuming the burgers, many of them children, which ultimately led to four unfortunate deaths.

During their investigation, officials found the patties weren't consistently cooked to industry-safe temperatures, allowing the deadly bacteria to survive. The outbreak undoubtedly became a turning point for U.S. food safety, leading to stricter meat regulations and new nationwide monitoring systems that are still in place today.

2. McDonald's—Hot Coffee Lawsuit (1992) View this post on Instagram

Likely the first thing to come to mind when anyone is asked about famous fast-food lawsuits, the legendary 1992 case involving 79-year-old Stella Liebeck and McDonald's hot coffee is truly one for the books. After spilling McDonald's coffee in her lap, Liebeck suffered severe third-degree burns that required hospitalization, skin grafts and years of recovery.

To nobody's surprise, evidence at trial revealed that McDonald's had known for over a decade that its coffee could cause serious burns. From 1982 to 1992, more than 700 people suffered similar injuries, including severe burns to sensitive areas like the inner thighs and buttocks, sometimes even involving children and infants. One woman was reportedly burned when coffee was dropped into her lap through the service window, leaving her disabled for years.

Liebeck initially offered to settle for $20,000, but McDonald's refused. A jury later awarded her $200,000 in compensatory damages (reduced to $160,000 for partial fault) and $2.7 million in punitive damages, though the judge reduced the punitive damages, and the parties eventually reached a settlement out of court. McDonald's later lowered the temperature of its coffee by about 10 degrees to reduce the risk of severe burns.

3. Denny's—Discrimination Lawsuit (1994) View this post on Instagram

During the '90s, Denny's faced widespread allegations of racism, including claims that Black customers were asked to prepay for meals or even told to leave if too many Black patrons were present. To no one's surprise, thousands of complaints led to lawsuits, and the chain agreed to pay more than $54 million in settlements for over 4,300 claims.

As part of the settlement, Denny's implemented investigations and oversight measures, including sending in Black actors to test for discriminatory practices at various locations. Additionally, any remaining settlement funds were donated to civil rights nonprofits.

4. The Oprah Winfrey Show—Beef Lawsuit (1996) @90spodcast

In February 1998 Oprah was cleared in a lawsuit filed by Texas cattle ranchers who said comments by the talk show queen tanked beef prices. #90s #historyofthe90s #oprah

♬ original sound - History of the 90s

In 1996, vegetarian activist Howard Lyman appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and warned that U.S. beef could be at risk of spreading mad cow disease. And as we all know, when Oprah talks, everybody listens, and her declaration that she would never eat another hamburger didn't sit well with the cattle industry. Two lawsuits claimed her statements violated Texas law and somehow had actually harmed sales. Winfrey ultimately won the first case, and a federal judge dismissed the second, marking a victory for free speech and general consumer awareness.

5. Pepsi—Crystal Pepsi (1992) View this post on Instagram

Launched in 1992 as a clear cola marketed for its "pure" and caffeine‑free formula, Crystal Pepsi was supposed to be the next big thing in soft drinks. Instead, it famously flopped. Consumers didn't understand the lack of color, and many reported a strange, metallic taste that didn't live up to the hype. Sales tanked within months, and the product was discontinued in 1993, leaving Pepsi with a cautionary tale about how bold innovation can easily backfire.

Despite the failure, Crystal Pepsi became a symbol of '90s experimentation and over‑the‑top marketing. Its odd taste and visual novelty inspired pop culture jokes and nostalgic throwbacks, and it's even been brought back in limited runs years later, proving that a scandalous flop can sometimes make a comeback if the stars align just right.

6. Pepsi "Stuff" Jet Giveaway (1996)

In 1996, Pepsi launched its "Pepsi Stuff" loyalty program, letting customers collect points from purchases and redeem them for prizes. One commercial, however, showcased a Harrier fighter jet worth $33.8 million as the grand prize for seven million points. Naturally, Pepsi assumed no one would take the advertisement seriously, since it was more of a novelty than a real offer. That is, until John Leonard saw it and spotted a loophole.

Realizing he could buy Pepsi Points for 10 cents each, Leonard calculated he could technically claim the jet for $700,000, far less than its actual value. Pepsi insisted the offer was a joke, but Leonard called their bluff and took them to court. A judge ultimately ruled in Pepsi's favor, but not before the stunt turned Leonard into a living legend, cementing the promotion as one of the wildest marketing campaigns of the 90s and a classic cautionary tale about ambitious advertising.

7. Frito-Lay WOW! Chips—Olestra Controversy (1998)

In 1998, Frito‑Lay introduced WOW! Chips, marketed as a fat-free snack thanks to a new fat substitute called Olestra. At first, the snack gained traction quickly, but many consumers soon experienced digestive problems, including cramps, loose stools and diarrhea. The issue was found to be worsened by overconsumption, as people often ate entire bags in one sitting rather than the "snack-sized" portions tested in studies.

As complaints stacked up, Frito‑Lay's parent company, Procter & Gamble, had hoped Olestra would revolutionize snack foods and even planned an entire line of fat-free products as a result. But sales never lived up to expectations, and only a few other brands experimented with the ingredient. WOW! Chips were eventually rebranded as Ruffles Light and Doritos Light, and Olestra later found use in products like eco-friendly paints (shocking). Today, it remains in some foods, but it's no longer the industry-disrupting sensation creators had originally hoped for.

8. Wonder Ball—Choking Hazard (1997) @aubrey.janik

What happened to the Wonderball? #whathappened #wonderball #greenscreen

♬ original sound - Aubrey Janik

In the mid‑'90s, Nestlé introduced the Nestlé Magic Ball: a hollow chocolate ball with a small toy hidden inside. Meant to be cracked open into two halves like a surprise candy, consumer groups and competitors voiced concerns that the embedded toy could pose a choking hazard to young children. By 1997, pressure over worries that kids might swallow the toys eventually led to the product being pulled from U.S. shelves altogether.

Years later, the treat was reintroduced as Wonder Ball, but this time with candy inside instead of toys. The original version, however, serves as a memorable example of a well‑intentioned 90s novelty that became an unexpected scandal due to public safety concerns. Rightfully so, because who would want their child choking on something that's supposed to bring them joy?

9. Campbell's—Souper Combos (1990)

Keeping with the theme of '90s innovations, Campbell's tried its hand at instant meal mashups long before anyone else with the creation of Souper Combos, a microwaveable meal that combined soup in one compartment and a hot sandwich in another. With convenience as the driving factor in its creation, Souper Combos ultimately faced an execution problem. Each compartment heated differently, leaving eaters with unevenly cooked food, soggy bread or lukewarm soup.

With a product that didn't quite land with consumers, Campbell's quietly shelved it after a short run from the late '80s into the early '90s. Remembered more for its awkward packaging and inconsistent results, Souper Combos will likely strike a chord for many '90s kids as one of those forgotten food experiments that probably seemed great on paper and just missed the mark in execution.

10. Maxwell House—Pre-Brewed Coffee (1990)

savannahsimmons625 / Discontinued Foods!

A true example of a product being ahead of its time, when Maxwell House introduced "Brewed Ready-to-Drink" coffee to its lineup, fans did not know what to do with it. Sold in foil-lined cartons and designed to make your morning routine more convenient, the idea was to deliver fresh coffee flavor without the need to brew it at home. The problem? You couldn't microwave it because of the foil packaging, leaving consumers unsure whether it was meant to be consumed cold or heated after pouring.

Naturally, the product flopped faster than you can brew a pot at home, with only lackluster sales and confused fans left to scratch their heads. And while the idea of ready-to-drink coffee would eventually become enormous decades later, Maxwell House's first attempt served as a valuable lesson that good ideas need proper execution.

Ahead of its time? Definitely. But honestly, it was a problem that could have been avoided in development, and if it had been, who knows what that might have done for the coffee scene with innovations so early in the game?

This Famous Swiss Alpine Gondola Just Suffered a Devastating and Sudden Failure— One Expert Weighs in on What Went Wrong

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:13pm

A family is left to mourn after a dream vacation turned into a tragedy on Wednesday, when a freak accident took the life of a 61-year-old woman. The incident took place at the Swiss resort Engelberg-Titlis, when a gondola came loose from its cable, crashing down the snowy mountain side.

Those riding in nearby gondolas were rescued without incident, and now Swiss authorities are investigating to find out what went wrong. Here's what we know.

The gondola cabin detached from the cable it was hanging from, according to Powder, which says that the woman was alone in the suspended structure at the time of the incident. Strong winds are being blamed for what happened, but both authorities and the company that owns the lift are still trying to piece together what happened.

According to Powder, the Titlis Bergbahnen gondola climbs the mountain in two different stages, which brings the cabin to an altitude of around 8,000 feet. While it's unclear what position it was in at the time of the incident, video taken at the time of the fall seem to show it tumbling down the mountain at a high speed.

Philadelphia's 6ABC News shared the footage on Facebook, noting that the other gondolas in the area were quicky evacuated and all operations on the mountain were suspended as a result of high winds.

Gondolas are Generally Considered Safe to Use

While the incident serves as a chilling reminder of how quickly a dream vacation can turn into a nightmare, Davide Guzzari, CEO of the Swiss company Exped Tribe GmbH says that these types of cabins are generally very safe and well maintained. In fact, he's even used these cable cars for some of his tours, and commended them on their quality.

"Cable cars are, in places like Switzerland, well controlled and to be considered safe in general, yet end users need to be aware of weather conditions proactively and to decide for themselves when operations are not safe anymore and wind gusts too strong," he said, adding that self awareness is key to keeping safe in any environment. As such, he suggests that people take some extra precautions before getting into one of these lifts, including:

  • Avoiding gondolas during high winds, which he described as anything over 30 miles per hour
  • Using weather apps like Windy, which he says "focuses on wind speeds and directions"
  • Checking Google or Meteoblue to see if any wind hazards are expected during the day

While the investigation remains ongoing at this time, I can't imagine what the woman's family is going through. Additionally, my thoughts are with the first responders and those on the ground who ran to the woman's aid before they knew she had passed. What a sad situation for everyone involved.

Is ‘Fire Country’ on Tonight? (March 20, 2026)

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:12pm

Unfortunately, after three new episodes in a row, Fire Country is taking another break and it’s not so the network can air reruns.

It’s that time of year again when CBS preempts regularly scheduled programming for March Madness. The NCAA Division I men's basketball has once again taken over the network, which means no Fire Country on Friday, March 20.

In fact, it will be a couple of weeks before the hit drama returns. New episodes of Fire Country are back on Friday, April 3, and fans won’t want to miss the return episode.

Fire Country Season 4 Episode 13 is the second part of the crossover with Sheriff Country. That’s right, the two shows living in the same universe are finally having a major two-hour event, much like what has been done in the One Chicago universe for years.

A school bus explosion forces Sheriff Mickey (Morena Baccarin) and Division Chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr) to bring their respective teams together to track down nine missing students and find out what caused the explosion.

The episode titled “The Bravest” picks up where Sheriff Country leaves off with Boone (Matt Lauria) and Bode (Max Thieriot) racing against the clock to find the missing students.

“With the clock ticking and the fate of nine missing students on the line, firefighter Bode Leone and Deputy Nathan Boone must risk it all in order to save innocent lives, in part two of the two-hour SHERIFF COUNTRY and FIRE COUNTRY cross over event,” reads the synopsis for Fire Country Season 4 Episode 13.

The crossover gives Fire Country fans something to look forward to amid another multi-week break. Those in need of a little Fire Country fix can watch all episodes on Paramount+.

Along with Farr and Thieriot, Fire Country also stars Jules Latimer (Eve), Jordan Calloway (Jake), Kevin Alejandro (Manny), and Michael Trucco (Luke).

Fire Country airs Fridays at 9/8c on CBS.

Who Is Taylor Frankie Paul’s Ex-Husband? What to Know About Tate Paul After the Swinging Scandal

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:07pm

Taylor Frankie Paul's season of The Bachelorette has been axed by ABC after video surfaced of her domestic violence incident with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, who is also the father of her youngest child, a son named Ever, 2.

"In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family," ABC told Parade in a statement.

But before Taylor was dating Dakota, which has been a recurring storyline throughout the first four seasons of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, she was married to a man named Tate Paul, with whom she shares her two older children.

Here’s what to know about Tate and his past relationship with Taylor.

Taylor Frankie Paul and Tate Paul married in November 2016.

The couple welcomed their first child together less than a year later when daughter Indy May was born in August 2017. Their second child, son Ocean, arrived in June 2020.

During that time, Taylor was building a large social media following as part of the Mormon influencer community known as “MomTok.”

They Divorced After the Viral MomTok Scandal

In 2022, Taylor announced during a TikTok livestream that she and Tate were divorcing.

During the livestream, she revealed that the couple had participated in what she described as “soft swinging” with other couples in their friend group.

According to Taylor, the arrangement allowed romantic interactions with other partners but not full sexual relationships. She later admitted she crossed one of those boundaries and developed feelings for another person, which contributed to the end of her marriage.

The revelation quickly went viral and helped spark the controversy that later inspired the Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Tate Paul Now Keeps a Low Public Profile View this post on Instagram

Since his split from Taylor, Tate has moved on and started a new family. He is now married to Bailey Paul, a Utah-based esthetician who specializes in beauty services such as lash lifts and brows.

The couple welcomed a daughter together in 2023, making Tate a father of three.

Costco Is Selling a Super Silky 'Cooling' Comforter Designed to Give You a Better Night's Sleep

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:05pm

If you're a hot sleeper, you know the struggle is real to get a decent night of ZzZs. There's the tossing, turning and constant kicking off of covers, only to return them again because you want that comforting weight to calm your body. It feels like an endless game of late-night whack-a-mole, trying to adjust everything so that you feel cool enough to fall asleep without feeling cold.

Fortunately, there are a lot of different bedtime innovations that have come to the rescue. Like cooling sheets, pillows and pajamas. These aren't like mini air conditioners for your body per se, but they do feel cooler to the touch than, say, your average sheet set.

Below Zero Cooling Comforter, $39.99–$49.99 at Costco

Costco

Costco is selling a Below Zero Cooling Comforter in three different colorways—green (shown above), white and gray. You can choose from either a queen ($39.99) or king ($49.99) size, and the 90 percent nylon, 10 percent spandex jersey material is supposed to feel cool on your skin. Not ice cold, but gently cool. You could put a duvet cover over it if you want something with a print, but then you'd kind of lose that whole "cool to the touch" situation, unless you purchased a cooling cover as well.

It's important to note that you only get the comforter—there aren't any accompanying shams like you might find in a set.

While there aren't any reviews of the comforter on Costco.com yet, a quick search on Reddit shows customers love this bedding. Apparently, a similar version was in the warehouse club last year, then disappeared. One Redditor was inquiring whether Costco would restock seasonally after a pet mishap kinda, sorta destroyed hers.

"Last year I bought the Below Zero Cooling Comforter, my husband and i love it," she wrote. "Shortly after, we got a puppy and once he reached about five months he started jumping in the bed with his chews that absolutely destroyed it. Anyway, we're still using it even though it looks terrible (thankfully is not ripped, just the stitching is messed up) but i wanted to know if this was a yearly release? I would love a new one. thanks in advance!"

That's saying something if the couple was willing to keep using a slightly shredded comforter until they could find the same replacement. So here's to more restful—and slightly cooler—nights ahead.

Stephen King Pays Tribute to Chuck Norris

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 2:00pm

Fans and celebrities alike are pulling out all the stops to pay tribute to beloved actor Chuck Norris after his heartbreaking death. One of those who took to social media to pay tribute was author Stephen King. The path King chose was one that Norris surely would have loved.

After learning of Norris' death, King took to the social media site X, formerly Twitter, to acknowledge the loss. In the first of several tweets, King went with a joke about Norris.

"My fave Chuck Norris joke: Chuck doesn't flush the toilet, he scares the s**t out of it," King wrote.

King's choice of what to post would probably seem strange to many. However, fans who loved Norris also likely knew he loved the ongoing string of jokes, initially dubbed "Chuck Norris Facts" that had become a definite "thing" over the years

In March, ESPN explained the joke. Apparently, it began in 2005 when a high school senior got creative with a website he had. He took an idea he found on the Something Awful forum and made it his own.

One thread he found was titled "Facts about Vin Diesel," and was really a thread of jokes that were "half-homage, half-goof" on the actor. The teen took the concept and ran with it, starting with Diesel and then asking for suggestions.

Somehow, Norris became the top suggestion.

Memes were just starting to take hold across the Internet, and soon, "Chuck Norris Facts" was pulling in tens of millions of website visits a month.

Eventually, the website led to an in-person meeting with Norris, and later, a book and a lawsuit. Ultimately, Norris, somewhat reluctantly, at first, embraced the trend and came to appreciate how it increased his star power.

In August 2023, Norris posted about the trend on his Facebook page. He wrote, "I get asked a lot if I like the 'Chuck Norris Facts' that circulate. The answer is yes... my wife Gena and I really enjoy them."

Now, more than 20 years later, the Norris jokes have taken on a life of their own. After King shared one on X, he followed up with another.

"Second fave: When he was born, Chuck Norris drove his mother home from the hospital," King tweeted.

Then, he posted a more sincere tribute to the iconic actor. "Seriously, I thought he was great. SILENT RAGE scared [the] hell out of my boys...and me."

Silent Rage was a movie starring Norris that was released in 1982.

Norris played a sheriff who "tries to stop the killing spree of a silent maniacal murderer who, as the result of secret genetic experimentation by an unethical scientist, has the ability to self-heal," the movie synopsis on IMDb describes.

When King, the author known for his horror stories, admits he was scared by a movie Norris starred in, that seems like a very special tribute indeed.

Iconic '90s Actress, With 2 Major Emmy Awards, Turns 68

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:25pm

Holly Hunter, the beloved actress who rose to fame throughout the 90s, turns 68 on Friday.

Over the course of her career, she has become known for her intense, emotionally rich performances across film and television, and she has plenty of prestigious awards to prove it.

One of her most defining roles came in The Piano, where she delivered a powerful performance as a mute woman navigating love and survival in 19th-century New Zealand. The role earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress, cementing her status as one of Hollywood’s most respected talents.

"There’s an agent named Tracey Jacobs whom I liked a lot, but who wasn’t my agent. I was sitting next to her at Sundance and she says, 'Listen, I just read one of the greatest scripts I’ve ever read in my career. You should read it,'" said Hunter, recounting the journey that led to her Oscar-winning performance to Vulture.

"And it was the greatest script I’d ever read. The way Jane writes is so visual and visceral, you can feel the movie. I knew I wanted to work with her, so I got together with a dialect coach to teach me a Scottish dialect. The character of Ada was mute and obviously didn’t speak in the movie, but I memorized her bookend monologues. I also put together a piano tape because I could already play fairly well, and then I met Jane."

Hunter has also found major success on television, earning two Primetime Emmy Awards over the years. She won her first Emmy for the 1989 TV film Roe vs. Wade, in which she portrayed the real-life figure at the center of the landmark legal case. Years later, she earned another Emmy for her role in The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom.

Born in Georgia, Hunter studied drama at Carnegie Mellon University before launching her acting career in New York. She quickly gained attention for her work in film throughout the 1980s and '90s, starring in critically acclaimed projects such as Broadcast News and The Firm.

Known for her distinctive voice and commanding screen presence, Hunter has remained a steady force in Hollywood for decades, taking on roles that challenge both herself and audiences. In 2003, Hunter made a splash yet again with her performance in the haunting and painfully honest film, Thirteen, directed by Catherine Hardwicke and co-written by then fourteen year-old Nikki Reed. It was the script that first captured Hunter's attention.

"When I act I think a lot, I think an awful lot before I show up on the set and I try to obey my own impulses when the cameras are rolling," Hunter told Phase9 in 2003. "I think that the script does the same. It is very impulsive and it is not judgmental. It is an uncensored version of itself."

As Holly Hunter turns 68, her legacy as an Oscar-winning actress and two-time Emmy winner continues to reflect a career built on fearless, unforgettable performances.

"It's cool to think that I’ve put in almost 40 years in an industry," she said. "There's something durable about my career that I'm very pleased with. It's like, 'Wow, how lovely. How nice.'"

Robert Pattinson's "Pathological" Lies Caught Live by Jimmy Kimmel: ‘It Is a Good Story’

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:24pm

Robert Pattinson exposed by Jimmy Kimmel!

Robert Pattinson is doing the hard work of promoting his next film, The Drama, also starring Zendaya, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. But before that happened, Kimmel had a bone to pick with Pattinson: unravelling all the lies he had been telling him for two decades.

And Kimmel wasn’t letting it go. Armed with a list and a very satisfied grin, he fired the question rapidly.

Francois Durand/Getty Images

“I think you were like 22 or something the first time you did the show that turned out later to be patently false,” Kimmel said, setting the tone for the evening.

First up — living under a Venice archway beneath trash can lids. "No!" Pattinson fired back, laughing. "There was an archway in my house."

"The only piece of furniture you had was an inflatable pool raft," Kimmel continued. "That's 100% true," he said, completely unbothered. “Two separate houses,”

Then came the question of owning a thousand suits. "Could be," Pattinson mused, recalling a failed attempt to offload them on The RealReal. "Didn't add up to much."

“A Craigslist car purchase after Twilight?” That’s what Kimmel went for next. "That's true — it was before Twilight, though," he clarified.

Then Kimmel dropped the strangest one. "You claimed you have extraordinarily heavy saliva." Pattinson didn't even flinch. "I think it might be true. Like, I think like, I think it might have gotten lighter. It's got a little bit lighter as I got older."

The best catch of the evening, however, was the hand modelling claim — busted by Pattinson's own mother, who happened to be in the audience that night. “You claimed that you did hand modelling as a kid,” Kim said.

Pattinson couldn’t bring himself to answer, just smiled and delivered the response, "It's a good story though." Kimmel could only agree. "It is a good story."

Pattinson’s reputation as a pathological liar began early in his career. He has infamously admitted to the habit on numerous occasions to several co-stars, including Zendaya.

Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama hits theaters April 3rd.

1976 No. 1 Hit Was So Good It Helped Launch a Movie That Was Put on Hold

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:18pm

In late 1976, “Car Wash” soared up the music charts. The song by the funk/R&B band Rose Royce was released in September 1976 and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Jan 29, 1977.

The hit song, written by former Motown producer Norman Whitfield, appeared on Rose Royce’s debut album, which also happened to be the soundtrack to Joel Schumacher’s big-screen movie of the same name.

“Car Wash” set the vibe for the movie. In fact, if it weren’t for the disco hit, the movie may never have seen the light of day—at least not that fall.

Rose Royce’s song convinced producers to promote the ‘Car Wash’ movie

Rose Royce was a supersized group formed in Los Angeles. The band featured Gwen Dickey (vocals), Kenji Brown (guitar, lead vocals), Kenny Copeland (trumpet, lead vocals), "Duke" Jobe (bass), Michael Moore (saxophone), Freddie Dunn (trumpet), Victor Nix (keyboards), Henry Garner (drums), and Terry Santiel (congas). They were signed to Whitfield’s label, and he thought they’d be perfect to record the soundtrack song “Car Wash.”

In an interview with The Guardian, Dickey recalled Whitfield telling the group he had a deal for a comedy film called Car Wash. The songwriter and producer wrote the lyrics to the future hit on a fast-food chicken bucket. He promised Dickey, “You won’t be laughing when this is a big hit!”

But Dickey expressed doubts about the song. “This will never be a hit, we told each other – we are literally singing about a car wash!” she recalled saying to her Rose Royce bandmates.

Producers were initially concerned about Rose Royce recording the Car Wash soundtrack.

“There was a big hoo-hah about that because MCA didn’t want an unknown group to do the music for a big budget film that was ‘Car Wash’ so Norman said, 'If you want me to do it I’m going to use this band,'" Dickey said in an interview with Soul & Jazz & Funk. “We used to go on the set every day because Norman had to go and see what was happening and then go home and write the music."

In The Guardian interview, Dickey revealed that the song ultimately helped “sell” the movie, which starred Richard Pryor, Franklyn Ajaye, Garrett Morris, and more.

“We recently learned that the movie was put on hold at first because Universal were unsure how to market a Black film, but the song sold the film,” she said.

Car Wash struck gold at the dawn of the disco era

Rose Royce’s music helped the film about a day at the Dee-Luxe car wash tie its story together. In a 1976 review, movie critic Roger Ebert wrote that the film Car Wash was “held together by the music, which is nearly wall-to-wall, and by the picture’s tremendous sense of life.”

“It’s one thing to have an idea like this — a zany, sometimes serious day in the life of a car wash — and another thing to make it work,” the legendary film reviewer wrote. “But the screenplay and the direction juggle the characters so adroitly, this is almost a wash-and-wax MASH.”

Dickey noted that at a screening for the movie, the soundtrack song had the crowd dancing.

“The song opens the film, and at the premiere the whole audience were up on their feet as it played,” she shared of Car Wash. “The producer was really upset, going: ‘Sit down! Sit down and watch the film!’ The song was a huge hit, and the film became iconic of the disco era.”

Taylor Frankie Paul Responds To TikToker About Domestic Violence Story: 'Breaks My Heart'

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:15pm

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paulhas responded to a TikTok creator who shared her story of domestic violence, amid ongoing allegations and discourse surrounding Paul's relationship with her ex, Dakota Mortensen.

In the video, posted by drrenalina, the speaker describes situations in which her ex would allegedly pick her up by the throat and drag her from room to room and then, when she began to react or respond, start recording her.

The TikToker explained, "As soon as he would put me down from having me picked up by my throat, I would be outraged. I was so helpless two seconds ago; there was nothing I could do, and it was almost as if a defensive mechanism kicked in. I would start picking things up and start throwing them, and that's when he would take out his phone and start recording."

The creator went on to directly link this to the recently released video of a 2023 altercation between Paul and Mortensen, in which Paul can be seen throwing chairs. "So, when I'm watching the Taylor Frankie Paul video, all I keep hearing is her saying, 'You threw me. You threw me,'" the creator said.

Paul left a comment under the video, which reads, "Girl I’m so sorry ❤️‍🩹 breaks my heart."

Jo Dee Messina, 55, Looks Better Than Ever After Revealing a Label Said She Was ‘Too Fat’ To Sign

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:07pm

Jo Dee Messina has faced plenty of obstacles in the music industry, but the country music queen is looking better than ever.

Messina, 55, who released her self-titled debut album in 1996, debuted with the hit single "Heads Carolina, Tails California." Her second album, "I'm Alright," racked up plenty of hit singles as well, and the country rocker earned plenty of acclaim for her talents. But after revealing in a new interview that a music label once told her she was "too fat" to sign, Messina made it clear she's looking better than ever these days.

The star stepped out at the Omni Nashville Hotel this week for a conversation with Ella Langley and looked healthy and happy in a white tank, shorts, and cowboy boots. We're guessing any label that refused to sign her dealt with some major regret!

Did a Label Really Say They Wouldn't Sign Her Because She Was 'Too Fat'?

While Messina has built a thriving career for herself, she recently shared during an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show that a music label once told her they wouldn't sign her because she wasn't skinny enough to be a star.

"They said I was too fat," Messina revealed during the interview. "They told my producer that, 'Oh, if she was 10 pounds lighter, we would have signed her,' is what they said... And I was devastated."

However, it was the advice of her older sister that encouraged her to keep fighting for a place in the music industry.

"I said, 'I did this showcase and I didn't get the record deal. They passed.' And she's like, 'Yes!' I was like, 'What do you mean, yes?'" Messina recalled. "She's like, 'Oh, they say you have to get passed on a thousand times before you get a deal... Now you only have 999 left.'"

When Will Jo Dee Messina Release a New Album?

Messina's fans will finally get a new album from the singer, who is set to release "Bridges," her first studio album in 12 years, this summer. Last week, Messina took to Instagram to announce the release of the album's first single, "Some Bridges."

"IT’S HERE!!!!!!!! Go stream it now! Wahooo!!!!!! 💜💜💜," Messina captioned her fun video announcement, which showed the redheaded beauty in a cropped blue sweater and jeans.

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Cast Speaks Out Amid Taylor Frankie Paul Abuse Allegations

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:06pm

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast is finally addressing the controversy surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul.

On Monday, Mar. 16, it was reported that season 5 of the hit reality show had paused filming due to an ongoing domestic violence investigation involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

Adding to the controversy, on Thursday, Mar. 19, ABC pulled the plug on Paul's season of The Bachelorette after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appears to show Paul assaulting Mortensen in 2023.

Though the cast of Mormon Wives has mostly remained quiet, cast members began posting statements to their Instagram Stories on Friday, Mar. 20.

"I've honestly been a little at a loss for words trying to process this all. Everything has been really heavy to see," Miranda McWhorterwrote. "Domestic violence and abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously. As a human, and especially a mother, I cannot support that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children in this and I hope they're safe, supported, and surrounded by love."

"My personal history as a survivor makes it impossible for me to stay silent," Layla Taylor added. "I stand firmly against domestic violence in any form. I am keeping her children in my thoughts, hoping for their safety above all else."

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed earlier this week that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and Mortensen.

The spokesperson confirmed “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th,” but declined to share any further details.

TMZ also spoke to sources connected to both Paul and Mortensen, who offered conflicting stories regarding the recent alleged domestic violence incident. Both parties have since issued statements accusing the other of abuse.

Chuck Norris' Net Worth at the Time of His Death

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 1:02pm

Chuck Norris' net worth came from more than just roundhouse kicks—the man also knew how to hustle.

The mythically in-shape actor, who died on March 19, 2026, at age 86, left behind a fortune amassed through fighting not just in tournaments and onscreen, but also in court over his contracts.

His earning potential was sky-high way before he was a household name: While competing on the tournament circuit, he taught celebrities martial arts and launched his own chain of studios and basically never stopped working.

Norris also endorsed a slew of brands (some quite controversial) and starred in a lot of commercials and infomercials, which are honestly what Gen Z and younger millennials may remember him from most.

Just how much cash did Chuck Norris earn throughout his career? More than you may think—and he got a ton of it less than a decade before his death.

How did Chuck Norris become famous?

Those kicks didn't come from nowhere!

Norris was born Carlos Ray Norris in Ryan, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of three brothers, all of whom his mother raised in Prairie Village, Kans., then Torrance, Calif., after their parents divorced. Norris has said he was an introverted and unathletic child and was often embarrassed at his family's poverty and his father's drinking.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1958, where he first began martial arts training, studying Tang Soo Do (tangsudo). When he was honorably discharged in 1962, he opened his own martial arts studio in Torrance and began competing in martial arts tournaments, including the International Karate Championships.

He finally won the International Karate Championship in 1967 after losing in prior years. He kept competing and earning more titles while running his own chain of karate studios, counting stars like action star Steve McQueen, Marie and Donny Osmond and Bob Barker (uh, yikes!) among his trainees. He later went on to found Chun Kuk Do, later called the Chuck Norris System, which combined elements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Korean Tang Soo Do, Kenpo, Taekwondo and various forms of karate.

Norris, who retired from the All-American Karate Championship undefeated, met Bruce Lee when he was still competing, and the pair became friends. He made his film debut in the 1968 film The Wrecking Crew, and four years later, starred alongside Lee in Way of the Dragon (Return of the Dragon), which made him a star.

McQueen took note of Norris' star power and encouraged him to continue acting. Norris took classes at MGM Studios, and in 1977, he had his first lead role in Breaker! Breaker!, followed by his passion project, Good Guys Wear Black (his first with his iconic cowboy hat) in 1978.

Norris continued making films, and his 1983 hit Lone Wolf McQuade inspired his now-iconic TV show Walker, Texas Ranger. The same year, he starred in his first video game, Chuck Norris Superkicks.

Walker, Texas Ranger premiered in 1993. The show was a hit and lasted for eight seasons—and solidified Norris as a full-fledged star.

The success of Walker endeared Norris to the right wing, who he embraced right back, with one of the tenets of his Chuck Norris System demanding patriotism: "I will always remain loyal to my God, my country, family and my friends." He penned a column endorsing intelligent design (creationism) and teaching the Bible in public schools, supported the 2008 California Proposition 8 ban on same-sex marriage, challenged the validity of Barack Obama'sbirth certificate, stoked fear of Sharia law being introduced in the United States and had an endorsement deal with Glock firearms in 2019.

He described himself as a fan of Ronald Reagan, became chummy with and endorsed Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu (currently wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity) in two elections, endorsed Mike Huckabee president in the 2008 Republican primaries and championed Ted Cruz in 2016.

Norris played himself in Dodgeball in 2004, and in 2005, Norris first became Internet famous for "Chuck Norris facts" that poked fun at his martial arts prowess and seeming invincibility (though it must be noted that a lot of these jokes were actually lifted from humble and hilarious comedian Judah Friedlander and his onstage persona, The World Champion). Norris went on to release an official book of Chuck Norris facts in 2008.

In 2010, Norris became a columnist for Creators Syndicate, and in 2012 starred in The Expendables 2.

His most recent screen appearances were 2019's Chuck Norris' Epic Guide to Military Vehicles on the History Channel and the 2020 series finale of Hawaii Five-O.

Per Fortune, Norris made a staggering $375,000 per episode for Walker, Texas Ranger throughout its 203-episode run and was entitled, per his contract, to 23% of the show's profits. However, he didn't get the full total he was due, he alleged in a 2018 lawsuit, claiming that CBS structured the distribution of the series in ways that, on paper, wouldn't grant him his share. Considering at the time the suit was filed that the show made a whopping $692 million, that is a huge chunk of change. They ended up settling out of court for an undisclosed sum.
