Cat Mom Finds Genius Way to Let Her Kitty Join Her in the Bath—and It’s Too Cute

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 1:55pm

Some cats run at the first sound of running water. Others want in on the action—such is the case for one orange kitty named Peach, who clearly had no intention of missing out on bath time with her favorite human.

In a YouTube short posted by @Peach-Pablo, Peach can be seen perched on the edge of the tub while her mom relaxes in a bubble bath. Her tail dips into the water, but she doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, she looks more curious than anything. It’s obvious she wants to join, but she doesn’t want to get completely wet.

Enter: The Floating Kitty ‘Boat’

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/XjaMv-mtaHI

Peach's mom comes up with a solution that’s as clever as it is adorable.

She grabs a plastic bowl, places Peach inside and puts it into the tub, creating a tiny floating “boat” so the curious kitty can join her without getting soaked. And just like that, Peach is in.

The only problem? The setup is quite wobbly (as you might expect from a makeshift kitty raft), and her mom has to keep a steady hand on it. But then comes the upgrade: she adds a small inflatable ring around the bowl, giving it extra stability and buoyancy. Problem solved.

Living the Dream, One Bubble Bath at a Time

Once her floating setup is secure, Peach fully settles in, curling up for a cozy nap. It’s clear this kitty is living her best life. Meanwhile, her mom gets to enjoy a relaxing bath with her cat bestie right by her side.

People in the comments were completely charmed by the setup.

“Oh, to be a little orange kitty, nestled in a bowl in a warm tub with my favorite person… pure bliss,” one commenter wrote.

Another added, “That sweet face, barely able to stay awake because it’s just so warm and cozy. Perfection.”

"One very sweet, very pampered kitty,” someone else wrote.

Honestly, being a pampered house cat might just be the dream.

A Little Creativity Goes a Long Way

While most cats prefer to stay far away from water, some are more curious and just want to be close to their people, no matter what they’re doing.

This setup might not be something every cat would go for (or that every pet parent would attempt), but it’s a sweet reminder of how a little creativity can go a long way when it comes to bonding with your pet.  In this case, all it took was a plastic bowl, a floating ring, a determined cat mom and one very chill orange kitty.

Golden Retriever Who's Obsessed With 'The Master's Is the Ultimate Golf Buddy

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 11:13am

Some dogs watch TV passively or ignore it altogether. Pita Bread the Golden Retriever? This good boy is locked in on The Masters like he's got money on the line.

There's a cute TikTok from @pitabreadthegolden where Pita's watching The Masters Golf Tournament with such intense focus, and the caption reads, "Favorite week of the year!"

The broadcast shows coverage from Augusta National, and Pita's not just casually in the room. He's attentively watching every move they make. Actively. Like he thoroughly understands what's going on.

@pitabreadthegolden

Favorite week of the year #themasters #goldenretriever #golftournament

♬ original sound - Pita Bread The Golden

The commenters immediately recognized a fellow golf fan in Pita.

"He has a bet on McIlroy and he's freaking out"somebody joked about Pita's intense viewing.

"My dog just barks at the TV the whole time turning a relaxing Masters weekend into chaos," another Golden parent sharing their experience.

"Who let him bet on PupKings?" questioning Pita's gambling activities.

Related: Cat Breed Ranked No.1 'Best for Apartment Dwellers' Is a Quiet and Content Kitty

Pita is clearly invested in Masters week like the rest of us. Whether it's the sound of the announcers commentating, the movement of the ball on screen, or genuine appreciation for the sport of golf at Augusta National, he's paying attention in a way that goes beyond typical TV watching.

Golden Retrievers Are Intelligent Dogs Who Often Engage With Television Content

Here's what makes Pita's Masters obsession possible: Golden Retrievers are naturally intelligent dogs who can fully focus on visual stimuli. Some dogs ignore screens all together. Others, like Pita, appear to literally watch and process what's happening on the screen.

Dogs can recognize movement on screens, though they perceive it differently than we do. Fast-moving content with lots of action tends to capture their attention more fully and effectively than more calm television. Golf might seem like a weird choice for pup viewing—it's not exactly high-energy or loads of action—but the combination of voices and movement could explain Pita's dedication to the sport.

Golden Retrievers are also famously trainable and attentive. If Pita's family makes Masters week a tradition, he's probably picked up on the annual excitement and routine surrounding the event. Dogs have high EQ and are excellent at reading human behavior and emotions. If his people get excited about The Masters, Pita's learned that this particular TV programming is significant.

Whether Pita actually understands golf or just loves the vibes of Masters week, he's committed to the watching. And based on the comments, he's not alone—plenty of dog sons and daughters have strong opinions about their peoples' TV choices.

Pita watching The Masters with that level of focus? That's a golf buddy who never complains about slow play.

Dachshund Star of Netflix Series Gives First Red Carpet Interview and May Have Overshared

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 10:10am

High-profile premieres are commonplace in Hollywood and offer fans an opportunity to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities. The superstars who walk the paparazzi-lined carpet often give interviews to promote their latest project and share their personal thoughts.

Jones the Dachshund got to strut his stuff at the Season 2 premiere of the Netflix hit, Beef. The famous fur baby was completely ready for his close-up and had plenty to say when approached by the press.

Season 2 of the Emmy Award-winning series stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Cailee Spaeny, and Charles Melton, yet Jones is the celeb who stole the show at the premiere. Entertainment Tonight caught up with the famous fur baby and had some questions for the rising star.

"Are you making your ET debut?" the entertainment correspondent asked, prompting a direct response from Jones. The dapper Doxie was obviously thrilled to be a part of the Netflix series and had the utmost respect for his fellow castmates. Talk soon turned to money, and Jones wasn't shy about his salary requirements.

"We're going to have to pay you the big bucks for this appearance," the reporter noted after listening to the Dachshund's dollar details. She asked Jones to kick off the show and he barked the program's iconic intro.

The Beef star didn't seem concerned about possibly oversharing, and fans loved hearing all the latest gossip from the set.

"Every word he said is true," one pointed out.

"Very controversial take," another remarked.

"Did he really say that?" a follower asked in surprise.

"Most watchable interview on Entertainment Tonight I've ever seen," someone noted.

"I’m a huge fan of this dog now," a fan posted.

The pooch played it cool as he posed for pics on the red carpet. Jones went with a simple look for the night, sporting a classic gold link chain around his neck. He stayed away from any glitter and bling.

The Dachshund didn't comment on any upcoming projects but is most likely fielding plenty of offers and weeding through scripts. Jones was the hit of the night, exuding star power without even trying. Fans can't wait to see what role he takes on next.

Tiny Dachshund Puppy ‘Brushes’ German Shepherd’s Teeth Like the Silliest Helper

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 10:00am

Puppies are invasive, no matter what breed you get. There's nothing you can do about that: they're curious. They're new to the world. Everything they do is something they're doing for the first time. I'll never forget sneezing in front of my youngest puppy for the first time, mostly because she stuck her entire head in my mouth.

One Dachshund puppy must have taken a page out of her book, because when her German Shepherd brother opened his mouth, she decided it was time to take him to the dentist. Or, rather, to bring the dentist to him...

@ashleychain89

German shepherd + Mini dachshund

♬ You've Got a Friend in Me - Randy Newman

Ashley Chain has her work cut out for her with these two, but it's not as much work as her Dachshund has cut out for her. You've got a tiny dog and a dog with the biggest teeth she'll probably ever see! This is going to take forever!

He probably wouldn't let her go for that long, but he's being very patient with her at the moment. There are actually two German Shepherds in this house, so I wonder if they play rock-pa(w)per-scissors to choose whose turn it is for a cleaning. She's not taking no for an answer!

Related: Bernese Mountain Puppy Riles Up Big German Shepherd Like a True Little Brother

She actually loves to try taking on both of them at once sometimes, which is hilarious. Not only is she a Mini Dachshund to begin with, but she's still a puppy, so she's even tinier. Yet, in a house full of other dogs and cats, she is not struggling to hold her own:

Should You Clean a German Shepherd's Teeth?

Keeping our teeth clean is important, and even though many people don't know it, it's just as important for our dogs. German Shepherds have a lot of big, sharp teeth. They need to stay in top-top shape!

Dental hygiene for dogs doesn't look exactly the same as it does for humans. Whereas we brush our teeth twice a day, dogs need their teeth brushed at least 3 times a week. Periodontal disease impacts over 85% of adult dogs, and it can lead to:

  • Other complications.
  • Terrible breath.
  • Pain.

Ideally, you should start teeth brushing for dogs when they're young, because that's when they'll be most receptive. Older dogs can learn, though. Regular dental checkups will help (and I mean checkups by an actual professional, not a sweet dog!).

Dog Breed Ranked No. 1 'Best for Retirees' Is the Perfect Lap Dog

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 9:34am

Getting a dog in retirement can be incredibly rewarding—built-in companionship, a little daily structure, and just enough motivation to get moving. The key is choosing a breed that actually fits your lifestyle, not just one you love the look of.

Luckily, however, looks and compatibility often go hand in hand. This list of the best dogs for retirees is full of variety, and the top spot also happens to be absolutely adorable: the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. These small and manageable pups just want to be loved and are generous with affection in return. Give them a lap, and they're happy. Cavaliers also require only moderate levels of exercise; a couple of leisurely walks a day, and life is good.

If you’re looking for other dogs that are affectionate, easygoing, and relatively low-maintenance, the Shih Tzu, Maltese, and Bichon Frise are great for relaxed households—they’re manageable in size, love being close, and don’t require a ton of exercise.

If you’re a bit more active and enjoy being outdoors, breeds like Poodles and Labrador Retrievers can be a great match. They’re smart, social, and will happily keep you on a routine (in the best way). And then there’s the Greyhound—surprisingly low-key for such a large dog, and basically a professional lounger with occasional bursts of energy.

Related: AKC Reveals Top 5 Dog Breeds in America, and No. 1 Is a 'Great Companion for All Ages'

And regardless of breed, regular vet care is part of the deal. Staying on top of health, nutrition, and preventative care ensures your dog stays happy, healthy, and right by your side for years to come.

Tips For Choosing The Right Breed For You

When choosing a dog later in life, it really comes down to finding the right fit—not just emotionally, but practically.

Size matters more than people think. Larger dogs can be harder to manage, especially on walks, while smaller breeds tend to be easier to handle and adapt well to smaller living spaces.

Energy level is another big one. Some people want a dog that gets them out and moving, others want a more relaxed companion—and both are valid. The key is matching the dog’s energy to your own so it feels like a natural fit, not a daily struggle.

Temperament is just as important. Calm, friendly dogs tend to be the best companions—they offer comfort and connection without being overwhelming.

Then there’s maintenance. Grooming, shedding, and potential health issues all factor in. Lower-maintenance breeds can make life a lot easier, especially if you’re not looking to add extra tasks to your routine.

And finally, allergies. If that’s a concern, hypoallergenic breeds are definitely worth considering.

Ultimately, the "best" breed for retirees depends on your individual lifestyle and needs. It’s all about finding the right balance of energy level, temperament, and care needs. The right dog should enhance your day-to-day—not overwhelm it.

One of the Rarest Dogs on Earth Has 6 Adorable Toes

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 9:20am

There are more than 400 types of dog breeds in the world, and yet, you may not have ever seen or heard of some of them, especially when their numbers are scarce. The American Kennel Club recognizes 20 breeds considered rare, and one of them is pretty special.

This rare dog breed is the Norwegian Lundhund, and there are only an estimated 1,500 to 3,000 left in existence. With their wildly unique traits, these giant fox-looking dogs deserve the spotlight!

View this post on Instagram

If this is the first you've seen one of these pups, same! On the verge of complete extinction in the 1960s, Norwegian Lundehunds are making a slow comeback with strategic breeding. An estimated 900 of these numbers live in Norway, originally bred for hunting Puffins (who are now a protected species).

These days, if you find one of these rare cuties, they're more likely to be competing in agility than hunting anything, but it's their appearance that's really cool.

Related: Rare Mammoth-Sized Dog Who's Worth Thousands Looks Like the Cowardly Lion

At first glance, they look like other Spitz-type canines with a curvy tail and dense double coat, but look closer.

They have six toes with extra paw pads, a neck that cranes so far back it touches the spine, triangular ears that fold shut, and shoulders flexible enough that they can stretch their forelegs to the side, which the AKC calls a "rotary gait." They're just really cool dogs!

Polydactyl dogs aren't as common as cats (Maine Coons are known for this). Having the extra digits gives them a better grip and traction when the terrain is uneven. In a video shared by @kaitlyn.c88, you can get a better view of these amazing pups in action!

♬ original sound - mikenezz More About Norwegian Lundehunds

These loyal, energetic, and alert dogs grow to weigh around 18 pounds in males and 15 pounds in females. Their compact and agile frames, combined with their high level of intelligence, require experienced pet parents who can provide consistent training and offer plenty of chances for play, hunting, exercise, and mental stimulation.

Lundhunds are curious and playful companions who are loyal and loving with their people, while being reserved with strangers. They also have a 12- to 14-year lifespan, and the average cost is between $2,000 and $4,000.

It's clear these cute pups have a lot going for them, but the six toes and ability to touch their neck to their spine are pure gymnast material!

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 9:09am

The annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show brings out the dog world’s elite, all competing for the Best in Show title. Hundreds of winners have been named since the competition began in 1877. Technically, any breed can win the coveted Best in Show title, but some of the world’s most popular dog breeds have surprisingly never won. Keep reading to find out which dog breeds have never won the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and the breed that has won the most times. Maybe you have a future winner in your house.

The annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is one of the most prestigious dog shows in the world and the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the United States, behind the Kentucky Derby. The competition brings together top purebred dogs and evaluates them based on how closely they match their breed’s official standard, including appearance, movement, and temperament.

Despite their popularity as pets, breeds like the French Bulldog and Dachshund have never earned the coveted prize, highlighting just how competitive the canine competition is.

The breed with the most Best in Show wins in the competition’s history is the Wire Fox Terrier. Winning a total of 15 times, the energetic breed is known for its confidence and strong show presence.

The Westminster Dog Show typically takes place in February and is hosted in New York, with the finals often held at Madison Square Garden or outdoor locations depending on the year.

Fluffy Brown Ragdoll Kitten Looks Like a Chocolate Cotton Candy Cloud

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 9:00am

Ragdoll cats are so beautiful. I love them in all forms, all colors, and sizes. No matter what, they're always stunning. However, of course, there will always be some who are a little more special. Some cats just have that "wow" factor!

For example, this epic chocolatey-brown Ragdoll kitten. His fur is a very rich shade of brown, but it's also very fluffy, which has him looking like an extra-sweet cloud of chocolate cotton candy:

Finn the Ragdoll has grown up so much. He was born in mid-2025, so he's not yet a year old, though he's definitely a big boy. As he's grown, he's gotten way fluffier, which only makes him look bigger.

The first clip is from when they first got him, while the second is more recent. I love that his fur looks a little disheveled in the second clip; even though he has some bedhead, he's still so cute! His mom loves throwbacks like this: he used to look like a little chocolate chip!

Ragdoll Cats Are Very Intelligent

Ragdoll cats are also known to be people-pleasers. They went to do whatever will make us the happiest, and that often means that they're relatively easy to train. Break out their favorite tasty treats and some praise and you can train them to do lots of tricks, like:

  • Roll over.
  • Play dead.
  • Shake paws.

You could even train them to walk on leashes! If Finn went for walks, I know he'd be the talk of the town!

Frenchie Just Figured Out Her Mom Is Pregnant and Her Reaction Is Priceless

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 8:55am

A big question many expecting parents of human babies and dog parents want to know is, does their dog know they are pregnant?

They may notice a change in appearance and speed with a pregnant person, but they wouldn't know that this is because of pregnancy.

But can dogs sense a pregnancy?

It seems like the answer may be yes in this recent video from @calisabella_ featuring a very pregnant mom with her two Frenchies, one of whom has seemingly discovered that there is something inside that belly and it isn't food.

The other could not care less.

In the video, we see their mom on her exercise ball with her dogs sitting on the floor, staring up at her.

The French Bulldog, who has just discovered the pregnancy, stands on her hind legs and starts to gently paw at her belly, even doing some nose boops on it.

Her mom wrote in the caption, "Shocked she kept doing this."

Then she said to her little dog, "I can't give him to you yet!"

The video cuts to more shots of the dog just being obsessed with her mom's belly, trying to touch it.

Even when her mom puts an exercise ball between them, she tries to get to that bump!

"This is like a level of crazy I didn't think you would reach," she says to the dog at the end of the video.

Crazy but adorable!

@calisabella_

Honestly this was so crazy because she’s always been clingy but I was not expecting this level of obsession with putting her paw on my belly & smelling the belly😂 I guess he’ll be her baby! #dog #funny #frenchbulldog

♬ Funny - Gold-Tiger Can Your Dog Tell You Are Pregnant?

According to some experts, yes, dogs can sense when a person is pregnant based on canines' heightened sense of smell.

They may be able to detect your pregnancy even before you can.

Related: Pregnant Cat in the Universal ‘Tired of Being Pregnant’ Pose Has Moms Everywhere Cracking Up

“I suspect that dogs can smell something we cannot,” Dr. Ann Hohenhaus, Senior Veterinarian and Director of Pet Health Information at the Animal Medical Center of New York City, told the American Kennel Club.

According to a 2025 study published in Anthrozoös by Wilson et al., nearly two-thirds of dog parents noticed behavioral changes in their pups during pregnancy, and over a quarter reported these changes began before they even knew they were pregnant themselves!

Rare Puppy’s Training Takes a Turn the Second He Notices His Tail

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 8:20am

Training sessions are supposed to be all about focus, discipline, and learning the basics. But when you’re a puppy, even the most important lesson can be completely derailed by something far more interesting—like a discovery you didn’t realize was attached to you the whole time.

This video shows a determined little pup mid-training, when his attention suddenly shifts to his own tail. What starts as a lesson quickly turns into a full investigation, as he spins, chases, and forgets what he was doing entirely. It’s chaotic, adorable, and very relatable. Take a look!

@maverick.thedutchie

What it’s like training a puppy sometimes #dutchshepherdpuppy #dutchshepherdsoftiktok #dutchshepherd #dutchies #belgianmalinois

♬ original sound - Maverick the Dutchie

On April 2, @maverick.thedutchie shared a video of their rare-breed puppy, Maverick, who is a 5-month-old Dutch Shepherd, trying his best at training camp with his human. But he's just a puppy, a very young little guy, so everyone there probably knows he's going to get a little distracted here and there. And he does. But not by others, or even his own shadow. It's his tail that draws his attention and focus away.

At first, he's following his human's hand, spinning in response to the command. But eventually he stops following his human's hand and is mesmerized and surprised to see a tail behind him, not realizing it's his, and he starts spinning, trying to catch it. He can't, though, because it's always one step ahead (or behind) him.

In the comments, hundreds of people were playfully giggling at silly Maverick and his short attention span.

One person wrote, "Well, I mean, he spun. You didn't tell him what direction or how many times, but that my friend looks like a spin to me."

Another shared, "He's thinking at 10 brain cells per second."

Someone else added, "My puppy just randomly focuses on something else or runs off, it’s so annoying."

Other comments included, "He just found out that he has a tail," "He's loading, ya know... like computers," "He said wait a minute what’s this tail?!" and "I liked how he picked up speed for a second."

Dutch Shepherds Are Intelligent and Athletic

According to the American Kennel Club, Dutch Shepherds are described as "intelligent, lively, and athletic," which is a great combination for a family who likes to be on the go and enjoy a lot of activity. These pups are "lovey-dovey" on the affectionate with family scale and aren't afraid of putting in a day's worth of work on the field as a herder or holding other jobs on the farm.

Since the Dutch Shepherd is a very intelligent breed, they love a challenge, which means training classes are perfect for them. The American Kennel Club notes that these pups do better with shorter training sessions and that they will become more focused as the work becomes more mentally stimulating. They can be very independent and like to be on their own, which is why these classes are a great thing to start them with early.

You're doing a great job, Maverick. Even if you're just herding your own tail for now.

Rare Bengal-Maine Coon Mix Perched on His Cat Tree Could Be King of the Jungle

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 8:00am

Cats and birds have more in common than Looney Tunes might make you think. One of the main things they both share is a love of perching. They both adore being high up whenever they possibly can!

One rare cat, a Bengal-Maine Coon mix, can't get enough of his favorite cat tree. He's absolutely massive and almost too big for it, but he's not going to let anything get him down. He's having the best time ever, and we can't get enough:

Neville the Bengal-Maine Coon cat is amazing. Not only is he one of the longest cats in the world, but he's one of the prettiest. Do you see his permanent eyeliner? How cool is that?! He doesn't care about his looks, though.

Neville just wants to be happy, and very few things make him happier than lounging around on his cat tree. Sometimes, his mom even feeds him treats while he's up there! On this day, though, he was just sitting there and mentally rolling his eyes while his mom booped his nose.

Most of the time, he's not quite that calm. He's a Bengal-Maine Coon cat, after all: neither of those breeds is exactly known for being chill. Neville's biscuits are a little aggressive:

His energy is already at 100 in this video, and I love that for him. Climbing is definitely one of his favorite things, and his mom makes sure he has plenty of places to do it. If she didn't, he would be climbing all over her instead!

Bengal-Maine Coon Cats Need Tons of Enrichment

It's not easy being a Bengal-Maine Coon. These are two of the most active cat breeds, and if they don't get what they need, you can trust that they're going to cause problems.

Luckily, along with being some of the most active, Bengal-Maine Coons are very curious. They love to inspect everything and follow you around, which can help keep them satisfied. They really like things like:

  • Climbing wherever they can.
  • Going for walks on leashes.
  • Scavenger hunts, where they can sniff out different things.
  • Toys that dispense treats.

Neville gets everything he could possibly need and more. He's so special, it's hard not to want to give him everything in the world!

Story of Dachshund Puppy Born With Only 3 Legs 'Never Giving Up' Has Us in Tears

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 7:55am

Many years ago, I worked for our local humane society and fell in love with an overlooked, paralyzed Dachshund puppy who, due to many medical needs, needed to get out of there ASAP. At the time, I wasn't planning to adopt, but I couldn't let whatever time he had remaining be spent in a metal cage surrounded by stress and chaos. I took him home and gave him all the love he deserved without knowing he'd only live just two days—but it was two glorious days of freedom and hope.

I'm reminded of that strong, resilient little guy every time I stumble across other pups with similar life situations. Enter Henry, a Dachshund puppy born with three legs, whose story ends much happier than my sweet boy's, and I'm honored to tell you all about this amazing dog's incredible journey.

Henry is the dog of all dogs with the heart of a champion. Born from a breeder with a malformation in his front leg in 2021, Henry's fate was unknown until his forever family paid a visit. Like I did with my pup, they fell hard and fast for this sweet little Dachshund who would likely have medical issues down the road—but thankfully, that wouldn't stop them from adopting him.

Though walking with three legs was challenging at first, Henry got the hang of things very quickly, shocking everyone as he played fetch and ran with the power of any four-legged pooch!

In 2025, a spinal cord injury called IVDD (stage 5) caused this precious boy to become paralyzed from the waist down, leaving him with only one working limb. Remarkably, even that hasn't stopped little Henry from adapting!

He's happy, healthy, and thriving with the use of a cool set of wheels to make it easier to get around. I also want to highlight the incredible dedication of his mom, who found a morning routine that works for Henry and starts the day off with so much love, setting the tone for the rest of the day.

@henrythe3leggedweenie

The mornings have always been our special thing ❤️ I’m so glad we finally found a routine that works #dachshund #doxie #minidachshund #disableddog #disabledpets #disableddachshund #3leggeddog #threeleggeddog #miniaturedachshund #sausagedog #wienerdog #dachshundlife #doxielove #doxiemom #longhaireddachshund #blackandtandachshund #3leggeddog #3leggeddachshund #tripawd #specialneedsdog #wlw #lgbtq #queer #lesbian

♬ Matilda - Harry Styles What Is IVDD and How Do Dogs Get It?

Being a three-legged Dachshund, Henry's had the odds stacked against him from birth, but even more so when it comes to IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). This condition happens when cushioning discs between vertebrae burst or bulge into the spinal cord. It causes nerve damage, intense pain, and in those like Henry, paralysis.

There are five stages of IVDD, ranging from mild pain to complete paralysis. Stages 1 to 2 can usually be treated with rest and meds, but stages 3 to 5 require immediate intervention, as in Henry's case. IVDD is common in dogs with long, low-to-the-ground bodies (Dachshunds, Corgis, and Basset Hounds, to name a few).

Pups who show signs of weakness and reluctance to move, a hunched back, shivering, and even staggering when they walk should get to the vet right away so there's no risk of further damage. That said, the next time you see a pet with special needs looking for a home, take a chance on (what I know will be) the greatest love of your life. It's worth it.

French Bulldog Lets Little Girl Give Him a Full Jewelry Makeover Like a Reluctant Male Model

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 7:10am

Many dog breeds are known for being good with children. Golden Retrievers, Pugs, Poodles, and Labradors are just a few popular breeds with families. Canines with a gentle nature and playful spirit are top picks for pet parents with young kids.

This French Bulldog was the picture of patience when a little girl wanted to play dress-up and recruited him for her jewelry display show.

@lifewithhattiemae

This was not his idea 💀 #frenchbulldog #toddlersoftiktokfyp #funnyvids #fyp #dogsoftiktok

♬ sonido original - Juanki 🎼

In the TikTok from @lifewithhattiemae, the child sat on the floor with the fashionable Frenchie as she placed some bracelets over his paws. The little girl was very gentle while carefully styling the fur baby with beaded bling, and seemingly very strategic on picking the full ensemble.

The canine cutie was completely compliant, though the expression on his face revealed his reluctance. He looked quite bashful and uncertain of the whole experience, but willing to continue if it made the little girl happy.

"This was not his idea," the onscreen text explained.

The patient pooch clearly wasn't cut out for the prep and primping it takes to be a model, yet he put his own feelings aside for his little bestie.

Followers raved over the Frenchie's devotion to the child and gave him props for being such a good sport.

"It’s the way he’s just casually allowing it at this point," one noted.

"Whatever the tiny human wants — Living his best life," someone remarked.

"He's like, 'fine, I'll only tolerate this because I love you," a follower posted.

"He looks so over it," another pointed out.

"This frenchie loves his little human so much he’s willing to partake in what ever activities make her happy," a fan commented.

French Bulldogs Have British Roots

Despite the name, French Bulldogs did not originate in France. They were first bred in England during the 1800s as smaller versions of the English Bulldog. Lace makers brought these fur babies with them when they moved to France during the Industrial Revolution. The breed gained popularity there, prompting the "French" moniker.

French Bulldogs are known for their gentle, loving nature and make wonderful companions. This precious pup beautifully demonstrated how Frenchies are always willing to go the extra mile for loved ones.

Great Dane ‘Steals’ Brother’s Skateboard With Sneaky ‘Scooby Doo’ Moves

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 7:00am

Great Danes are massive, and what's more, they're magnets for trouble. People call them gentle giants, and they certainly are that, but they're also insane. These horse-sized pups love chaos, and a lot of them also love kids, which goes hand-in-paw.

One Great Dane was living his best life watching his little brother skateboard... Until he decided that he actually wanted it. Naturally, he channeled his inner Scooby Doo and yoinked that bad boy right out from under his little bro:

@penny7146

♬ original sound - lms

Nico the Great Dane was surprisingly good at driving the getaway board: the way it seemed so easy for him to push it along makes me think this was not the first time. He did exactly what I would've done: wait until his brother was distracted.

Taking in the bins was the perfect opportunity. After the boy is heard proclaiming, "he stole my ride," someone in the comments said, "bro, he IS your ride." It's a fair judgment when you consider that Nico was approximately the same size as the Trojan Horse.

Related: Great Dane Who ‘Fell in Love’ With a Maine Coon Kitten Is Such a Gentle Giant

This video is a throwback: Nico has been gone for a while. His brother still thinks about him every day, though, and everyone who sees this video knows exactly how much they loved each other. Except for the one time Nico tried to trample him:

@penny7146

Replying to @Noah #greatdane #nostalgia #dog #aibs #childhood

♬ sonido original - Gabriel🧃🪄

It was bone cancer, unfortunately, and Nico crossed the Rainbow Bridge at just 3 years old. This fate is decently common for Great Danes, but that doesn't make it any less tragic. While he was here, though, Nico was well-loved and very entertained.

How Common Is Bone Cancer in Great Danes?

Big dogs in general have a much, much higher risk of bone cancer (and cancers as a whole) than smaller ones, and Great Danes are proof of that. These goofy, gentle giants have one of the shortest lifespans of any breed, typically ranging from just 8-10 years.

Great Dane outside panting.

Image via Shutterstock / arfwag

Great Danes are particularly prone to osteosarcoma, at about 30x more likely than other breeds to develop it. There have been several studies done that provide different estimates, but anywhere from 10-25% of Great Danes will develop OSA in their lifetimes. This cancer causes:

  • Lameness
  • Fragile bones
  • Extreme pain

OSA is very aggressive and often results in euthanasia within a year of diagnosis. Even so, as Nico well knew, it's better to have loved and lost! I hope he has all the skateboards he wants, wherever he may be.

Border Terrier Singing in the Sunshine Sounds Like a Blocked Drain

Sun, 04/12/2026 - 8:20pm

You hit play expecting a peaceful little moment. Sunshine, a sweet dog, or maybe a soft howl. What you actually get is Fudge. And Fudge sounds like he has been through something. Or many things. Spiritually. Vocally. Possibly with a pack of gravel.

The caption says, “Lovely Fudge singing in the sunshine,” and technically, yes, he is singing. But the sound coming out of this Border Terrier is less “angelic melody” and more… garbled whisper howl with a hint of 50-year-smoker energy. It is quiet, it is scrungly, and it somehow still demands your full attention.

@emmmmms27

#wales #borderterrier #sunshine☀️

♬ original sound - Emma

The hilariously adorable clip shared by @emmmmms27 shows that Fudge above is obviously going to have the song of the spring.

Related: Mom Asks Her Bulldog to 'Sing' and Her Immediate Response Is Pure Comedy Gold

“Voice of an angle,” one person wrote, and honestly, yes. Not an angel, an angle.

“He sounds just like he looks,” another added, which feels a little rude but also incredibly accurate.

“What’s Fudge’s favorite type of cigs?” someone asked, which I did not expect but now cannot unhear.

“Practicing your voice before you call in sick,” which is exactly the energy. He is warming up for something.

“God love him, he sounds like a blocked drain. Adorable X,” which perfectly sums up the entire situation. Concerning, but lovable.

“Sing it, you adorable piece of dryer lint!” one person wrote, and I think that might be his official title now.

“He’s so scrungly,” another added, which is not a word I use lightly, but it fits.

“How wonderful, he sounds like a stone sliding sound effect,” which is so specific and so correct.

“It’s nice you let that lint come out to enjoy the sun,” and again, we are really leaning into the lint narrative here.

“Does he like Marlboro menthols,” and “Gargles rocks but still precious as heck,” which honestly might be the most accurate description of all.

I keep listening and thinking, surely it will get more normal. It does not. It somehow gets more committed. 10/10, would buy the record and attend the concert.

Why Do Dogs Howl? Golden Retriever howling outside.

Image Via: JSshots/Shutterstock

Dogs howl for a few different reasons, and while Fudge may be adding his own… unique interpretation, the behavior itself is completely normal. Howling is a form of communication that comes from their wolf ancestors, who used it to connect with their pack over long distances.

Related: Mom Asks Her Bulldog to 'Sing' and Her Immediate Response Is Pure Comedy Gold

Some dogs howl in response to sounds, like sirens, music, or even certain voices. It is their way of joining in, like they are part of the conversation. Others howl to get attention, express excitement, or sometimes even out of boredom.

Certain breeds are more prone to howling than others, but any pup can do it. And just like people, every dog has their own “voice.” Some sound smooth and melodic. Others… sound like Fudge.

The important thing is that it usually means your pooch is engaged, expressive, and reacting to the world around them. Even if that reaction sounds like a blocked drain trying its best.

Golden Labrador Literally Tap Dances Like a Rockette During 3rd Birthday Celebration

Sun, 04/12/2026 - 8:10pm

Birthdays can be celebrated in a variety of ways. Whether you prefer a fancy shindig, a small party, or a quiet dinner with a few friends, recognizing that annual milestone in your own personal style adds some fun to the year ahead.

Our fur babies enjoy a good birthday soirée as well and have no problem partying with pooch pals and plushies. Noodle the Golden Labrador recently celebrated his third birthday and showed his excitement with some fancy footwork.

@nicoleandnoodle

a little birthday @BILLIE EILISH #fyp #dogsoftiktok #billieeilish

♬ original sound - Carpaw Karaoke

Noodle stood in front of a glittery blue birthday banner with streamers hanging down and a big, gold "3" balloon. The birthday fur baby had a celebratory black and silver plushie bone in his mouth to add some extra bling to the day.

The Golden Lab was bursting with joy and couldn't stand still. Noodle performed a full-on tap dance that looked like it was choreographed for a Broadway show. The fur baby bopped like a pro, yet the moves seem to come naturally to him. Noodle never stopped dancing throughout the entire video and wasn't winded in the slightest.

Apparently, Noodle likes to groove on a regular basis. The social media account was packed with posts of the dancing dog busting a move in various settings. Whether he was in the car or at home, Noodle was doing some sort of impressive jig worthy of the Rockettes.

While the prancing pooch was obviously delighted with his birthday celebration, the dance performance was something this dog does daily.

Ways To Celebrate Your Dog's Birthday

Noodle obviously likes to bring disco vibes when celebrating his special day. Your pooch may have a different preference and choose something more low-key or outdoors. There are numerous ways to commemorate your dog's birthday that suits their personal temperament. Some ideas include:

Related: Senior Rescue Dachshund Celebrates 21st Birthday and Gets Official 'Legal Age' ID

  • Go for a hike and let your fur baby have unlimited sniff time.
  • Take your pup for a shopping spree at their favorite pet store and let them pick out some plushies and treats.
  • Invite some of their furry friends over for a playtime party.
  • Bake your canine companion a dog-friendly cake and decorate the room with 'Happy Birthday' bling.
  • Snuggle up with your pooch for a quiet movie night with some special treats for snacking.

You know your dog best and can tailor a party to their personality. Noodle definitely needs dancing involved for celebrations as well as everyday life.

Itty-Bitty Pinscher in Hilarious Granny Getup Is Mom's Little Doppelgänger

Sun, 04/12/2026 - 7:20pm

They say the longer you have pets, the more you all start to look alike. As I glance at my stout Corgi, stocky senior Staffy, and my three wildly different cats (a feral-acting Tortie, an impossibly fluffy Ragdoll, and a mean-girl Persian mix), I can't help but wonder who I'm twinning with...at least to the outside world.

For Yoshi, it's clear who his doppelgänger is: Mom! The teeny-tiny, itty-bitty micro Miniature Pinscher is the ultimate bestie who models whatever costume Mom puts on. In the most hilarious getup I've ever seen, Yoshi's impersonation of Mom—glasses, wig, and all—is so spot-on, it deserves some kind of award!

There's really little else that can top such a funny costume, and even Mom can't hold it together when looking at him! Is it the glasses, the wig, or the little "teefs" that make this work? ALL. OF. IT.

Honestly, little Yoshi is the best sport and does whatever is asked of him, as all besties would. He doesn't even care if his dog friends see this and make fun of him because he's THAT confident!

It's no wonder this cutie-pie has amassed an impressive 818k TikTok followers because most of his content is just Mom dressing him up in something silly and epic. He's just so tiny and adorable, my heart can't take it! I'll take at least seven of them.

In one of his most-reposted and viral videos, Yoshi sports this lime-green situation, complete with a crocheted hat that had many comparing him to Snoop Dogg. You really have to see this!

♬ som original - rozi_pinscher_micros_of Small Miniature Pinschers Have a Big Title

As a Miniature Pinscher who's SO tiny, Yoshi is in a league all his own. The breed is a mix of Dachshund and Italian Greyhound, and they win the title of "king of toy breeds" for having a big-dog personality packed into a small package, standing around 1 foot tall at the shoulder (or less).

These pups are energetic and confident little sweethearts, but can teeter on the brink of fearlessness to the point of getting into trouble. With good training, exercise, and socialization, Min Pins are amazing companions. They might even let you dress them up so you can twin-out together!

Bernese Mountain Puppy Turns Into 'Perfect Little Fluff Nugget' After First Grooming

Sun, 04/12/2026 - 6:20pm

My dogs detest taking a bath. There are no words strong enough to express their utter hatred for getting in the tub and dealing with a full shampoo. My Dachshund tries to escape several times while the water is running, and my Pug mix has to be carried through the door. Afterwards, I give them extra treats and let them have free-range zoomies in the house for enduring their ordeal.

Burgundy the Bernese Mountain Puppy didn't seem to love his very first bath, but he hopefully appreciated the adorable floofy results.

@alpenspiritbmd

My favourite thing to do with the puppies is always the first baths, this is burgundy boy from our Journey x Otis babies. 5 weeks old yesterday🫧🐾 #bernese #bernesemountaindog #bernesemountaindogpuppy #puppy #alpenspiritbmd

♬ 오리지널 사운드 - 스위니 sweeney - sweeney

Burgundy's mom prepped for the fur baby's bath in the TikTok from @alpenspiritbmd. She placed the precious puppy in the tub and talked him through the process of rinsing his fur. Burgundy looked unsure of what was happening, but calmly sat as his mom got the shampoo.

His mother was very gentle with the 5-week-old pup throughout the entire bath and let him smell the shampoo before she sudsed him up. He even lay on his side when his mom had to rinse off his round puppy belly. The canine cutie was completely compliant during his mini glam session.

She swaddled Burgundy in a towel like a human baby once he was finished. The clean, cloud-like puffball was so relaxed, he started to doze off. His mom gently used a hair dryer to warm him up as he rested in her arms. It was almost like a little spa treatment.

Burgundy looked like a floofy stuffed animal post-bath and showed his appreciation by giving his mom kisses.

Followers fell in love with the fur baby and were a bit envious of his mom's tub time with the pooch.

"Oh I know he smells like puppy breath and joy," one remarked.

"Such a cute little potato," another gushed.

"It's exhausting being pampered," a follower joked.

"Just gonna say it... You got the best job in the world," someone pointed out.

Burgundy Will Get Much Bigger

This adorable little fluff nugget won't reach full maturity until he's approximately 3 years old. Bernese Mountain Dogs tend to stay in the silly, playful puppy stage longer than other breeds. This big breed reaches 25 to 28 inches in height and tips the scales at 115 to 150 pounds at adulthood.

Burgundy definitely won't stay this small forever, but he'll probably always have that floofy fur. His mom should just plan on having a lot more Bernese to bathe as he gets older.

Siberian Husky Living the Luxe Life With Hotel Room Service Especially for Dogs Is Giving FOMO

Sun, 04/12/2026 - 6:10pm

Wiley, the Siberian Husky, is one pampered pup. When he isn't exploring the Oregon coast with his humans, the bushy beast is enjoying the good life by testing out the amenities at different dog-friendly hotels. In this recent TikTok, Wiley and his family stayed at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville, Washington, which boasts a room service menu designed especially for dogs. It looks like this Husky sampled a rice dish with chicken that was served under a cloche (just like the human version) and enjoyed every last grain.

This hotel isn't alone in trying to attract pet parents with special amenities designed just for them and their fur babies. More and more people see their pets as part of the family, so leaving them behind just isn’t the default like it used to be. Pet-friendly travel is quickly becoming the norm.

The biggest shift is in accommodations. These days, about 75% of hotels—across all price points—allow pets, and many are going way beyond a simple “pets allowed” policy. Instead of just tolerating animals, hotels are actively welcoming them with things like beds, bowls, treats, and even on-site “pet ambassadors” (yes, actual dogs greeting guests).

Vacation rentals are following suit, too. Platforms like Airbnb have seen a huge spike in searches for pet-friendly stays, showing just how much demand has grown.

Full Speed Ahead

And it’s not slowing down. The entire pet travel industry is booming, driven by the simple fact that people want to bring their pets along—whether that’s to avoid boarding costs or just because it feels better to have them there. Pet-friendly hotels are becoming a major competitive advantage.

Searches for pet-friendly stays are rising fast, and hotels that lean into it are seeing real benefits, from higher bookings to stronger guest loyalty.

What’s also interesting is how the definition of “pet-friendly” is evolving. It’s no longer just about allowing pets—it’s about catering to them: designated pet amenities, yes, but also flexible policies, and even services that make it easier for humans to explore while their pets are comfortably cared for.

For hotels, it’s a smart move. Travelers are actively filtering for pet-friendly options, and properties that meet that demand stand out immediately. In many cases, it’s not just filling rooms—it’s attracting a more loyal, repeat guest.
