Devoted Newfoundlands Volunteer for 'Best Listeners' as Human Sister Learns To Read
I never grew up with dogs, which is exactly why I couldn't wait for my kids to have the experience. As loyal companions to the very end, there's no greater friend a kid can have than a precious pup. Even more, dogs seem to understand they have a real purpose to serve and protect those little ones.
For one crew of Newfoundlands, being there for their human siblings is their number one job. Whether they're moral support, guarding them from danger, or hanging out for a reading session, there's a reason these gentle giants are known as the original Nanny Dogs!
@thatnewfielifeI’m not crying 😭 Newfies and children go hand in hand… seeing my first babies grow up along side my daughter is the joy of my life. 🫶🏼🥹
♬ original sound - LyricMessengerNearly everything a dog does is enough to make me cry, and this is no different. Volunteering as tributes to sit quietly while their human learns to read is a core memory for all, and something all kids should get to experience.
The two Newfoundlands are happiest when they get to be involved in anything their family does, but this moment is really special. It makes me wish I had the chance to feel this kind of unconditional love as I learned to read. Sigh.

5 Reasons Newfoundlands Are the Perfect Kid CompanionsAs shown in the many videos via @thatnewfielife, Molly and her canine siblings are the perfect example of why so many families with children opt for a big, sweetheart of a breed like Newfies. These pups are beloved for:
- Having a docile, friendly temperament
- Being gentle despite their large size
- Showing patience and calm when around children
- Enjoying their place alongside the family
- Taking their loyal, devoted, and dutiful watchdog role seriously
It's an added bonus that these "Nanny Dogs" are big enough to use their origins as working dogs with any children home from school on a snow day (aka they'll happily pull the sled just to be included!).

♬ No Particular Place To Go - Stereo Remix - Chuck BerryI have a feeling that by practicing her reading to her sweet Newfoundlands, this little girl will one day be a scholar, excelling in English—and it's all thanks to the dogs' precious commitment to be there for her in every way possible. Adorable Golden Retriever Shows Off Impressive Catching Skills in the Kitchen
Some dogs beg for food and snacks, while others go and get it. In a kitchen filled with tasty options, some dogs know exactly where to find their treats. And in this case, Daisy, a golden retriever, was quick to catch her snacks before they even hit the ground.
Golden retrievers have a reputation for being “garbage can dogs,” meaning they will eat almost anything within reach. They are more of an "eat first, sniff later" type of dog.
A recent video shared on social media shows a female golden retriever patiently waiting in the kitchen as the popcorn machine is working. She's smart and waits below the counter and catches every snack that she can.
Great catch, Daisy!by u/damonmowr in aww
Yet, for this golden posted on Reddit, the popping machine is less of a kitchen appliance and more of a game launcher. Each kernel is a challenge. Each catch is a small victory.

How Did the Internet React?Fans love videos of dogs that entertain themselves, that much is certain. One fan commented, “Entertaining for the dog. We all need enrichment activities.”
And it seems like popcorn is a popular choice among pet parents. Many commented how their dogs love popcorn, with one person saying, “My dogs also camp out when they hear the air popper firing up."
And one person talked about how his dog figured out a better way to get quality food. He said, “My dog figured out it was easier to sit by the grill than to fight and beg for food. If the grill master was going to feed her, she would get food. No need to fight. And she always got food.”
Can Dogs Eat Popcorn? This question has a yes and no answer. First, let’s talk about the positive part of it. According to the American Kennel Club, dogs can eat popcorn in small amounts, but only if it is fully air-popped and plain.
They cannot eat popcorn that contains butter, salt, oil or any other seasonings. Consuming seasoned popcorn can cause stomach upset, dehydration and long-term health issues.
Moderation is key, as popcorn should only be given to dogs as an occasional treat. Of course, when you have a dog like a golden retriever who is a garbage can, moderation is even more important. Daisy, however, takes care of it herself. She knows exactly how much popcorn she can have and gets it in the most adorable way.

Forever Pals Heavy Duty Tie Out Cable for Dogs, $13.25 at Dollar General Forever Pals Heavy Duty Tie Out Cable for DogsDollar General
If your dog loves to run, sniff and explore outside, this is the perfect pickup heading into the warmer months of the year. Designed for dogs up to 125 pounds, it gives plenty of security while offering unrivaled flexibility, letting your pup play, roam and follow its nose to its little heart’s content within a full 20-foot radius.
Portable by design, this handy tie out cable can be quickly coiled up and packed away, and its included quick-release swivel clips make attaching and detaching a breeze. Plus, a smartly designed rotating clasp adds extra flexibility at the tie-down point, making it perfect for energetic dogs who love to tug, pull and put it to the test.

So how does it work? For starters, you’ll need some sort of stake to fasten it to, which is not included in the package. That said, if you’re setting this up in your yard or a grassy park area, any tie-out stake, anchor stake or ground stake will do. You’ll also want a mallet on hand so you can easily drive it into the ground.
For most average-sized dogs, the stake should go about 8 to 12 inches into the soil so it stays secure while your pup explores. And if a stake isn’t available, you can also tie the cable around a sturdy porch post, tree or fence post, just make sure whatever you use is strong enough to handle a dog pulling and tugging.
Once it’s anchored, simply attach the swivel clip to your dog’s harness and let them do their thing. For long-term use, consider storing it in a waterproof spot to preserve its effectiveness and prevent rust from building up on the clasps and swivel clips.

Golden Retriever Decides She's a Mom to Pug Foster Puppies and It's Pure Love
Some dogs see foster puppies and think, new friends. One Golden Retriever apparently saw a whole litter of tiny Pugs and thought, these are my children now. In the video, we see her watching over the little Pug babies with the kind of focus and softness you would expect from the proudest mama in the room.
The caption says, “When your Golden Retriever thinks she's the mom of your Pug foster puppies..” and that honestly feels less like a joke and more like a documentary title. She is completely invested.
@blondshavemorefun865My golden retriever is in love with our pug foster puppies. #fosterdogs #pugsoftiktok #goldenretriever #rescuedog #spayandneuter
♬ Welp, Didn't Expect That - Yu-Peng Chen & HOYO-MiXIt is impossible not to melt watching a dog pour that much tenderness into such tiny little creatures. She has that gentle, hovering energy that says she is not just visiting the nursery, she is running it. She looks fascinated and fully convinced that these puppies belong under her supervision at all times.
Meanwhile, my dog Lola would have had feathers flying by now, or at the very least, she would have been loudly announcing herself like the world’s most dramatic hall monitor. She, on the other hand, is all calm eyes and quiet devotion.
The post caption makes it even sweeter: “My Golden Retriever is in love with our Pug foster puppies.” You can tell that love is exactly what people are reacting to. She does not seem confused or bothered by the chaos that usually comes with puppies. She seems enchanted by it. Every glance feels careful and affectionate, like she is checking in on her babies and making sure everyone is where they should be. Golden Retrievers already have a reputation for being soft-hearted, but Murphy is really out here making the case that some of them are born to mother absolutely anything.
One of the comments says, “You let her in so she can see her puppies right this minute!🤣.” That is the energy this video creates. It makes you instantly start rooting for her like she is a sleep-deprived but very loving new parent pacing outside the nursery window. She looks so sincere about the whole thing that it is easy to forget these are not actually her puppies. In her mind, though, the paperwork may already be signed.
View this post on InstagramThere is no big stunt. It is just pure, quiet affection, which somehow hits even harder. She is watching over those foster puppies with such warmth that the whole video feels like a small reminder that animals can be unbelievably nurturing. She may not be their mom, but she has clearly claimed the emotional position, and honestly, who is going to argue with her?
Gentle Dogs Still Need Gentle BoundariesWhen an adult dog becomes deeply attached to puppies, it can be adorable, but it still helps to supervise every interaction and make sure the older dog gets breaks. The AKC notes that while adult dogs can help puppies learn appropriate behavior, people should not rely on the older dog to do all the work, and positive interactions should be carefully managed over time.
That balance matters because puppies are still learning social skills, and adult dogs need space too. The AKC also explains that puppies learn important early social behaviors from their mother and littermates in those first weeks, which is part of why calm, supportive introductions and structured socialization are so valuable.
She is basically one tiny cardigan away from starting her own foster-mom support group, and we are here for it!

Golden Retriever Puppy's Cute 'Pink Nub' Tongue Makes Her Look Like a Teddy Bear
Puppies are so adorable that they almost don't look real. Those floofy coats, round bellies, giant paws too big for their bodies, and childlike curiosity that gets them into mischief are rolled into a big bundle of cuteness that's impossible to resist.
Lucy the Golden Retriever puppy has an extra endearing feature that gives her a plush toy resemblance and it'll make you do a double take.
@nalaandlucyLooks like the tongue will be out for life 🐶😂 #foryou #fyp #goldenretriever #goldenretrieverpuppy #fypシ
♬ Little Life - Robert GromotkaIn the TikTok from @nalaandlucy, the precious puppy's mom held her up to the camera to point out Lucy's "signature look".
"When we first got Lucy, her tiny little tongue was always poking out," the pup's mother shared in the video. "It was the cutest thing, like, just this little pink nub out all the time."
At first, Lucy's mom assumed this was part of Lucy's puppyhood development and in time, she'd learn proper tongue muscle control.
"I honestly thought it was just because she was so young and still figuring out how to use it," the story continued. "Like, maybe she hadn't mastered the whole keep-your-tongue-in-your-mouth thing yet."
Hanging Tongue Syndrome in DogsLucy's gone through some initial development stages, yet her tongue is still completely visible.
"Here we are, and Lucy is coming up on 6 months old, and the tongue is still out," her mom revealed. "At this point, I don't think she's figuring it out."
Many dogs aren't able to fully retract their tongue even when their mouth is closed, resulting in Hanging Tongue Syndrome. Brachycephalic breeds like Pugs and French Bulldogs are prone to the condition. Dental problems, abnormal anatomy, neurological conditions, or a previous injury can also cause this issue.
Hanging Tongue Syndrome isn't dangerous and doesn't require treatment. If your dog has this issue, make sure they are properly hydrated so their tongue doesn't become cracked or too dry.

Followers fell in love with Lucy and found the unique attribute absolutely delightful, comparing her to a fluffy stuffed animal.
"She looks like a teddy bear," one remarked.
"I can’t take it! The overload of cuteness!!" another raved.
"She’s so adorable," a follower commented.
"I love it," someone posted.
Lucy's mom has no desire to correct the fur baby's tongue placement and feels it just adds to her charm.
"I think this is her personality, it's her signature look. And honestly, I wouldn't change it for the world."

Golden Retriever Joins His Tiny Best Friend on a Swing for Pure Joy
Golden retrievers consistently rank among the most popular family dogs in the United States, according to registration statistics from the American Kennel Club. Their reputation rests on the fact that they have a predictable temperament, they tend to be patient with children, are tolerant of noise and are responsive to training.
A recent post shared on social media further proves that goldens just love to be around children—and the child in the video will have the sweetest memory to look back on one day.
The Reddit video shows a young golden retriever and a toddler trying to get together on a swing. First, the golden gets up, and then the child follows. Together they swing, sharing an amazing moment together that strengthens their bond. As they sway together, side by side, it looks like they have done this thousands of times.
The caption of the video reads “this is a memory he will look back on and smile about someday,” and we can be sure that will be the case.

How Did the Internet React?Moments like these show why golden retrievers are always among the most popular family dogs, and even the commenters know it.
The comment section was filled with things like, “Moments like this should be captured and shared," “Perfect life moment,” “Dog looks stoked to swing,” and “It brought a huge smile. Thank you.”
One fan even commented that the scene looks like it was taken from a movie.

Golden Retrievers as Family DogsMany studies have supported the idea of children growing up with pets. Having a dog while growing up can shape a child’s development. One study showed that having a dog during the teenage years improves mental health and prevents aggressive behavior and delinquency.
Another study, from the University of Colorado showed that children growing up with pets have a better immune system. Years after they grow up, their immune system remembers, and they show a healthier stress response.
Most importantly, as this video showed, time spent playing with a dog means time spent outdoors and in motion. Kids and dogs can play fetch, throw a ball, walk or run around the yard, or, in this case, share a swing. Throughout it all, children learn responsibility of caring for a living being, building a foundation for reliable behavior in later life.

The good news is that, unlike Karma the Coonhound, Winnie the Jack Russell doesn’t shed. However, as much as I love Winnie, she has a bad habit of, shall we say, exploring when we’re outside. She loves the grass, lawn hedges, and anything that she can get her paws or her back on.
As we move into the spring and summer, I expect Winnie to continue her love of trying to roll around and enjoy the nice weather.
Luckily for dog dads like me, the AIRROBO dog grooming kit is on sale at Amazon for 30% off when you click the on-page coupon, and it’s definitely a deal worth looking into.
For $70 plus free two-day shipping, you can snag a professional-quality pet vacuum to ensure that you and your best friend stay clean.

Check out what a few of those past shoppers have said:
- “Best purchase I’ve made this year by far."
- “Surprisingly quiet, especially for how powerful it is, and that made all the difference. Grooming her at home was calm, smooth, and honestly kind of shocking.”
- “I can’t even believe how great this thing is. I wish I had had it through the summer and spring when the dog was shedding nonstop. This is going to really save me a lot of aggravation in the future with the shedding of a German Shepherd.”

More Details to KnowHere’s what else you need to know about the AIRROBO dog grooming kit and pet vacuum:
- Size: The vacuum clocks in at just over 8 pounds, making it easy to maneuver around a squirming pup.
- Keep Quiet: Reviewers have praised the grooming vacuum for its low volume, and it’s a key part of the product description. AIRROBO notes that the lowest noise level is below 50dB and won’t scare your best friend. Additionally, the vacuum has three adjustable suction levels, which will make things easier for comfort and sound.
- Clean Up: This vacuum includes a large dust cup, a 4.9-foot detachable hose, and six different guide combs, ranging in size from 3 mm to 24 mm.
The Bottom Line: With this grooming kit, I won’t need to worry about Winnie getting, and staying, dirty. And it's a great value at 30% off. Our managing editor even owns this exact model for his two Goldendoodles and he says it's a "lifesaver."
Golden Retriever Puppy Becomes the Cutest Little Supervisor During Kitchen Renovation
A kitchen renovation usually comes with noise, dust and a steady stream of workers carrying tools in and out. Yet, in one home, the renovation came with a sweet little surprise: a golden retriever puppy in the middle of everything.
In a video posted on Reddit, we see a puppy assuming the role of a foreman, and he really does act like a skilled supervisor who's in charge of a crew and overseeing daily operations.
One thing is certain: the video shows this puppy is completely focused on the task ahead. He pays attention to everything that the handymen are doing. He wants a perfect job, and nothing will stop him from making sure that is the result.
As the men are working on the kitchen, they are trying to ease him up. One of them is trying to pet him, and the puppy gladly accepts the affection. But do not think for a moment that will prevent this golden retriever from keeping track of whether they are doing a good job or not!
He planted himself on the floor in a prime spot to watch and study the handymen as they measured the cabinets and worked along the counters.

How Did the Internet React? One fan described the golden retriever puppy as the ideal supervisor, saying “there for comfort, but quiet and stays out of the way. Has earned extra treats for excellent performance on the job.”
Related: Toddler's Sweet Reaction to Golden Retriever Having No Food Is Pure Joy
Many owners of golden retrievers know this all too well. One said, “Yup, this is what my goldens do too. Except usually they’re way more involved, sticking their head in and making the job all but impossible to complete.”
This young puppy has a long way to go. But as one fan said, “So cute, soon he’ll be able to get the tools for you.”
Simply put, it seems goldens were born for the role of supervisor.
Why Golden Retrievers Follow You EverywhereGolden retrievers are famous for wanting to be involved in whatever their people are doing. As the American Kennel Club describes them, they are friendly, eager to please and people-oriented.
The result is obvious. These dogs will follow you from one room to another and prefer to remain close. They choose affection rather than napping in another part of the house.
For these dogs, attention is not optional. Originally bred as sporting dogs to work closely with hunters, they developed instincts to remain close to their humans at all times, and that feature is still very evident here in this video.

Golden Retriever Reuniting With Girlfriend at the Beach Is the Sweetest Thing We've Ever Seen
Taking your Golden Retriever to the beach is already pretty great, right? But you know what makes it even better? When you get there and your dog's girlfriend—who, plot twist, is also the neighbor and his actual best friend—just happens to be there too.
No lie. This happened to Zebby the Golden Retriever and the TikTok capturing the whole thing has people in shambles.
So the caption reads "My golden reunites with his girlfriend (she's also his neighbor & best friend) 🤍" and listen, the video lives up to the hype.
Two sweet Golden Retrievers spot each other across the beach and completely lose it. Pure joy and absolutely zero chill.

♬ Second Chances - Gregory Alan IsakovHere's the situation: Zebby and Jetty are both Goldens and they live next door to each other. Already sounds like the plot for some Hallmark movie, right? But then they coincidentally end up at the same beach on the same day and spot each other from across the sand.
Game over. Best day ever achieved.
The two besties spent hours just doing what Goldens do best—flopping in the sand, running through the waves and being ridiculously happy about everything. As far as spontaneous dates go, this one definitely crushed it.

The comments kept it simple but said everything that needed to be said. "Happiness is… ❤️," wrote someone who got it.
Two Golden Retrievers reuniting at the beach and spending the afternoon frolicking in the surf together? That's pretty much the textbook definition of happiness. Nothing else needed.
The neighbor aspect makes it funnier though. Zebby is with Jetty all the time at home. But beach Jetty? That's a whole different experience. It's like when you see your close friend somewhere random, out of context, and suddenly you're both way too excited.
Golden Retrievers Are Known for Getting Along With Other Dogs Exceptionally WellWhy does Zebby and Jetty's relationship work so well? Golden Retrievers are legitimately some of the friendliest dogs walking around.
Patient? Check. Gentle? For sure. Social with everyone they meet? That's their factory mode setting. Other dogs, neighborhood cats, toddlers, strangers—Goldens are just friendly across the board.
Here's something awesome though: dogs can always recognize when they're encountering another dog from the same breed. Two Goldens meeting up? There's this instant recognition thing that happens. They get each other immediately.
These dogs also don't get possessive or territorial about stuff. They're content to share the beach, share toys, and share whatever. That laid back vibe means they happily coexist with other dogs.
Being neighbors definitely has a hand in this situation. Zebby and Jetty have been friends forever. They understand one another's energy, which makes spontaneous beach dates even more fun.

Got two Goldens at home? Or a Golden hanging with a different breed of dog? They'll probably be best friends in no time. These dogs are simple and don't overcomplicate things. Friendly is their baseline. Drama isn't really their cup of tea. They just want to hang out together and have fun.
Zebby and Jetty spent all day together at the beach achieving maximum happiness. There were no complications. Just nonstop tails wagging .
Spontaneous beach dates with your favorite neighbor who's also your girlfriend? Best day ever.
Labrador Puppy Spills Water and Then Turns Himself Into a Mop
There is nothing quite like LabradorRetriever puppy chaos, and this little guy understood the assignment. In a now-viral TikTok video, a Labrador puppy spills his water bowl all over the kitchen floor and then immediately decides the best solution is to become the cleaning crew himself.
Instead of running away from the mess, the fluffy Labrador rolls directly into the puddle like a very committed, slightly confused Swiffer. It is not effective. It is not sanitary. It is, however, extremely Labrador Retriever. What a good pupper!
@labradorbrosYep but I moped it all up myself!
♬ original sound - Rocky and BearTikTok user @labradorbros shared the adorable clip, and the internet is fully invested in this tiny, self-appointed janitor. The puppy lies in the spilled water, rolling and wiggling as if he genuinely believes he is fixing the situation. Spoiler alert: he is not.

One person commented, “This is adorable and hilarious!! Labs are the best helpers.”
Another wrote, “He looks so defeated. Like he tried to fix it and it just didn’t work.”
Someone else said, “I mean, he’s mopping it up really well. What else is he supposed to do? Not spill?!?”
And honestly, that feels very Labrador logic. Spill water. Become water. Problem solved.
Another viewer joked, “Where can I purchase this kind of baby Swiffer?” which honestly sounds like a product that would sell out in five minutes.
He even pauses mid-roll like he’s thinking, "This was a good idea. I stand by this decision."
How Much Water Should Puppies Drink a Day? English Cocker Spaniel puppy drinking water.Image Via: New Africa/Shutterstock
Puppies need consistent access to fresh, clean water throughout the day, but the exact amount depends on their size, age, activity level, and diet. A general guideline is that dogs drink about 1 ounce of water per pound of body weight daily, though active puppies may need more.
It is normal for puppies to splash or play in water bowls as they learn coordination. If your pup regularly dumps the bowl, you can try using a heavier, nonslip dish or offer smaller amounts more frequently. Just maybe keep a towel nearby.
Why Labradors Make Such Wonderful PetsLabrador Retrievers are consistently one of the most popular dog breeds for a reason. They are friendly, eager to please, highly trainable, and deeply people-oriented. Labs tend to approach life with enthusiasm, whether that means learning commands, playing fetch, or accidentally redecorating your kitchen with water.
They are also known for their goofy problem-solving methods, which is exactly how you end up with a puppy trying to mop the floor using his own body. It may not be efficient, but it is very on-brand.

Golden Retriever 'Personally Offended' By Baby Touching His Foot Is Such a Vibe
Bringing home a new baby is a big adjustment for everyone who lives in your home, and yes, that includes the non-human members, too. Dogs can get very settled into their lives and routines, and a new baby will shake up the entire household... and at the same time, everything gets a lot louder with all those newborn cries.
The Golden Retriever in the video below truly does seem to be doing the best he can to stay patient with this baby... but that might be easier said than done!
@kelseysue03Why does the dog look personally offended 💀 #dogandbaby #donttouch #dogsoftiktok #goldenretriever #foryoupage
♬ Funny - Gold-TigerThis dog, whose name is Pretzel, seemingly has never forgotten what the days of a quiet house might look like with any other family. Before the baby was here, he wasn't messed with... but now, he's laying down a hard boundary.
"POV: You told the baby don't touch the foot and the dog meant it," their mom wrote in the video.
Sure enough, this baby will not give up on his relentless pursuit to touch the dog's foot, even though he knows it's against the rules, and even though the dog keeps moving his foot away so it's just out of the baby's reach.
It's the look that Pretzel gives his mom in the middle of all of this that really gets me, though. He simply cannot believe this baby does not follow instructions!

Baby and Dog BoundariesIt's important to set boundaries between babies and small children and the pets of the household in order to keep everyone safe (and to keep the peace under your own roof).
Sometimes, that means teaching your babies what not to do around pets (like touching the dog's feet), and other times, it means making sure that your two biggest troublemakers aren't left unsupervised.
Babies don't know any better, and if they're anything like my daughter was, they will immediately see tails as something they should pull on. It can take some time to really nail a boundary like that, but in the end, it's totally worth the effort.
It's so important for babies and dogs to respect each other. Those who do usually end up being the best of friends.

Scottish Straight Cat Watches a Dripping Faucet Like It’s a Nature Documentary
For our pets, something simple that we take for granted every day can have a very different meaning or impact on them. Dogs are thrilled to see anyone new walk past their windows, cats study the birds outside like it’s their calling, and thunderstorms or fireworks leave them with an experience that’s often opposite of what we feel about the same event. But these differences have a way of making the most beautiful memories.
We meet a funny Scottish Straight cat who is staring at something that we’d probably walk right past and not even pay attention to. But for the sweet kitty, the kitchen faucet dripping is treated like it’s the last game in a tie-breaking championship, and she doesn’t want to miss any second of it. She's got her eyes on the faucet, locked in and tracking each drop with intense focus. It all makes the faucet feel far more dramatic than it has any right to be.
@undeniablycocoHave you encountered this scenario? #talkingcat #catcomedy #scottishstraight
♬ original sound - Coco, Queen of the HouseTikToker @undeniablycoco shared a video of their adorable cat, Coco, an orange Scottish Straight, who has found a new fixation with the faucet in the kitchen and the way it drips and drains.
The voice-over is hilarious because we get to learn more about what this cat loves about the kitchen sink and her thoughts on the garbage disposal, how it works, and its purpose.

Facts About the Scottish Straight CatIf you've heard of Scottish Fold cats, but you're not sure what a Scottish Straight is, it's understandable. Scottish Folds, known for their ears that fold down, are popularly known because of their ears, and a Scottish Straight is the "straight or normal-eared" sibling to the Scottish Fold, according to The International Cat Association.
Everything else about the Scottish Straight is similar to that of its sibling, the Scottish Fold, including the same variety of coat colors and both shorthair and longhair types. Literal siblings can be born with straight ears while their siblings have folded ones, but all their other personality and structural features are similar.
They're known for being sweet and charming, and we definitely see that with adorable Coco.

Tiny Orange Kitten 'Announces' Dinnertime While Faithful Subjects Stand Guard
You ever watch a tiny kitten hold a press conference about dinner being late? That's basically what Oliver the orange kitten's doing, except his press conference includes two French bulldog bodyguards.
There's this TikTok where Oliver—a very small, very orange, very loud kitten—is meowing his face off because apparently mealtime hasn't happened fast enough. But the best part? He's got two French bulldogs flanking him like Secret Service agents. They're not doing anything. Just standing there. Present. On duty.
The caption says "Oliver was hungry and let us know" but that's underselling it. Oliver didn't just mention he was hungry. He held a formal announcement. With witnesses. At maximum volume.
@indianaj37Oliver was hungry and let us know #orangecatbehavior #kittensoftiktok #kitten
♬ original sound - KevinHis human's trying to engage: "Is it dinner time, Oliver? Tell me all about it. Are you hungry?" And Oliver's responding with what sounds like a detailed list of complaints while his Frenchie siblings provide silent moral support.
The comments get it.
"Why's he got bodyguards 😂" asked someone who noticed the French bulldogs aren't randomly positioned—they're strategically placed like security detail.
One person went literary: "Please sir, can I have some more," referencing Oliver Twist, which honestly fits perfectly for this tiny dramatic kitten.
"My cat is the official spokesperson for mealtime complaints too," wrote someone else living with an equally vocal feline.
Oliver's not just meowing. He's filing paperwork. The French bulldogs are there as official witnesses to this injustice. Dinner's late. This is unacceptable. Management needs to hear about it.

The visual of this tiny orange kitten commanding the room while two much larger dogs stand guard is peak comedy. Oliver's clearly running this operation. The dogs get it. Everyone gets it.
Orange Cats Are Known for Having Strong Appetites and Bold PersonalitiesSo here's the deal with Oliver's dramatic dinner announcement: orange cats are genetically wired to be obsessed with food.
Orange isn't actually a breed—it's a coat color that shows up in American Shorthairs, British Shorthairs, and other breeds. Most orange cats happen to be male, and a lot of these breeds naturally have big appetites but aren't super into exercise.
Basically? Orange cats love eating and sleeping. Moving around? Not their favorite unless food's involved. It's genetic.
They're also bold and adaptable. Orange cats have this "will eat anything, don't care where, don't care when" energy. They're not picky. They hear a food bag crinkle from another room and suddenly they're right there demanding immediate service.
That built-in "time for dinner" Oliver's demonstrating? This is textbook orange cat behavior. These cats have internal alarm clocks for every meal and snack. If you run thirty seconds late for meals, you'll absolutely hear about it.

Their combination of strong appetite, bold personality, and zero embarrassment about demanding meals means orange cats are great at communicating their needs—especially when those needs involve food.
Oliver recruiting his French bulldog siblings as support? Absolute strategic genius. He's not just expressing his hunger, he's making sure everyone understands that this is an official complaint requiring immediate action.
The bodyguards seal the deal. The volume ensures you heard him. Dinner better be on its way.

How to Use This Bone BrothServing it is simple. Just add a couple tablespoons to dry food to create a gravy-like consistency. This may be especially helpful for senior dogs or pups with sensitive teeth because it softens kibble. You can also mix it with water to encourage hydration or serve it on its own as a treat.
A few buyers even mentioned their cats love this tasty topper, but if you’re considering giving it to your kitty, it’s always best to check with your veterinarian first to make sure it fits your cat’s dietary needs.
At the end of the day, it’s not about reinventing your dog’s diet. It’s about making their everyday bowl a little more exciting. And sometimes, a simple splash of beef-flavored broth is all it takes to turn dinner into something they can’t wait to dig into.

Golden Retriever Puppies Practicing to 'Sit Nice' for Their Food Will Make Your Whole Week
If you've ever had the absolute joy of raising a puppy, you know that this time in a dog's life can also bring a lot of chaos. Not only are they full of energy and curious about everything, but if you're bringing home a brand new pup, they aren't going to be trained very well quite yet. What rules? Where?!
These Golden Retriever puppies in the video below are built a bit differently, though...
@worldofgoldenssGolden retriever puppies are ready for new homes dm us #dogsoftiktok #petsoftiktok #goldenretriever #puppytok #doglover
♬ original sound - WorldOfGoldensThis video from @worldofgoldenss shows two puppies who are already amazing at following commands — even when food is involved.
You can tell that the last thing either of them wants to do is "sit nice" while they wait to be served their food, but they both managed to do it like champions (even though they were both practically vibrating with excitement).
Between the chattering teeth and wagging tails, they were so excited... but they sat like they were told anyway. Good puppies!

What Age Is Best for Training Puppies?According to what dog trainer Kate Naito told the American Kennel Club (AKC), the earlier you start training your dog, the better — the first few months of their lives are the best time for them to learn and to cement good habits. So if you adopt a dog at around eight weeks old like many people do, you can get started with training right away.
If you and this puppy are new to each other, you'll want to form a strong emotional foundation first, since this is what will help them trust you and make it easier for them to cooperate when you're trying to teach them new tricks.
“If a puppy learns not to trust humans—maybe because they yell and punish, steal his food dish to establish dominance, or force him into scary situations—you will have an uphill battle teaching life skills later on,” Naito said.
Naito suggests keeping it simple at first, starting with commands like "sit" using plenty of positive enforcement, and you can build on their skills from there. Before you know it, your puppy will be a total pro.

Vet's Reaction to Pit Bull Patient Cornelia Proves She Was 'Made for This Job'
Sometimes you meet someone at their job and immediately you just know, this person was absolutely meant to do this job. In fact, it's more than a job; it's a calling. That's Dr. Nicole Fein with literally any animal, but especially with Cornelia the Pit Bull.
There's a TikTok going around from Dr. Fein's veterinarian office where Cornelia comes walking in limping, while wearing the most adorable little strawberry dress. What happens next is basically a masterclass in how all veterinarians should interact with all patients. She's that good. Honestly, Dr. Fein should set the standard.
The first thing out of Dr. Fein's mouth? "Oh my God, you're so cute in your little dress. Hi. I wanna eat you."
Already we're off to a strong start.
@dr.nicolefeinAlright all my Pibble people it’s your time to shine! Let’s show miss Cornelia some love! #pitbullsofinstagram #pibblelove #thefeinvet #vetlife #cutenessagression
♬ original sound - dr.nicolefeinAs she's examining Cornelia, Dr. Fein can't stop going on about the sweet Pit Bull. "Look at this mouth meat. A Cornelia sandwich. Oh my God. I love you so much. You're so cute."
Then, the most heartwarming moment of the visit that completely captured everyone's hearts. Dr. Fein looks directly at Cornelia and says: "I love a Pitbull. I just love a Pitbull. Anyone who says you're scary is stupid. You're perfect."
The internet went wild about Dr. Fein's bedside manner.
"When someone is made for a certain job it shows," wrote one commenter, perfectly summing up Dr. Fein and her entire magical vibe.
"Two happy queens 🥰" noted someone watching the mutual love fest happening.
"This is exactly how I would want my vet to act with my animals. Never change who you are and don't listen to the haters," wrote another fur parent who clearly gets it.
One commenter joked about how long the vet appointment took: "'Why was my dog's appointment so long?' Sees video. Perfectly 'acceptable. Please proceed.'"
The mutual affection got noticed: "Just a couple of ✨aggressive lovers✨👸🏼" because yeah, Cornelia becomes what Dr. Fein describes as an "aggressive lover" and then, she climbs straight into Dr. Fein's lap mid-exam.

"I know people say the baby voice is unprofessional, but as a pitty mom, I would LOVE for my vet to talk to my girls this way!!!" wrote someone defending the doctor's enthusiastic tone.
One person made Cornelia's moment their mantra: "'Anyone who says you're scary is stupid' is my house hippo's new daily affirmation! Here for the pibble loves ❤️"
"That is a certified lap potato, clearly," speculated a fan watching Cornelia refuse to leave Dr. Fein's lap.
"As a Pibble mommy I can confirm they are the lickiest babies ever and the only thing aggressive is their love!" wrote another pit bull parent who knows the breed well.
Pit Bulls Are Known for Being Gentle, Affectionate and Loyal CompanionsDr. Fein's interaction with Cornelia isn't just sweet—it's actually backed by what pit bulls were historically bred for. According to the ASPCA, many pit bulls were specifically bred for companionship, noted for their gentleness, affection and loyalty as family pets.
The "scary dog" reputation? It's absolutely not true at all. They are like all dogs, a product of their nurturing. Pit bulls bred for work were never supposed to be aggressive toward people. In fact, dogs that showed human aggression were specifically not bred because they needed to be handled often by people.

The behavior that Cornelia's exhibiting in this video, kisses, lap-climbing, and a general love-fest, that's actually typical pittie behavior. They're extremely affectionate dogs who often think they're lap-sized regardless of their actual size.
The TikTok's a reminder that pit bulls, like all dogs, should be judged as individuals based on their actual behavior, not stereotypes.
And Dr. Fein? She's the standard every vet should aspire to. Cornelia clearly agrees—she refused to get off her lap.
Baby Giraffe Born With 'Toupee' Is Stealing Hearts
Eugene, an absolutely adorable giraffe born at the Toledo Zoo on January 17, 2026, is charming viewers after appearing to arrive in the world with a tiny toupee. His comical "hairpiece" is actually a normal part of giraffe development caused by his folded ossicones — the soft, horn-like structures that lie flat at birth before gradually standing upright.
Unlike true horns, giraffe ossicones are made of cartilage when calves are born and remain flexible to help protect the mother during delivery. Over time, they firm up and begin to stand tall, giving the giraffe its iconic silhouette. Eugene's ossicones have started to transition and currently resemble pom-poms - as if this baby couldn't get any cuter.
View this post on InstagramRegardless of them being flat or upright, fans of the video agree that this little calf is "perfect."
"Eugene is going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up." says one viewer.
"He’s very handsome," agrees another.
He's also a tall drink of water. Eugene measured around 5'6" (that's my height!) at birth, not to mention clocking in at 130 pounds. He was his mama Lily's first baby, and thankfully, everything about his development has gone exactly to plan.

Giraffes: Biological MarvelsGiraffes are one of the most recognizable animals on the planet — and also one of the most misunderstood. Previously thought to be only one species with multiple types, scientists now agree that there are actually four distinct species of giraffe: Masai, northern, reticulated, and southern giraffes. And while they may look abundant, their numbers are sadly declining. Across all species combined, only about 140,000 remain in Africa, and they’ve already disappeared from several countries.
Every giraffe has a unique coat pattern — like a fingerprint. They’re the tallest mammals on Earth, and calves enter the world with a dramatic two-meter drop to the ground — yet they’re standing within an hour, like Eugene.
Their anatomy is just as impressive. Giraffes have long bluish-purple tongues, dinner-plate-sized feet, and, as we've learned, ossicones on both males and females.
Because of their long necks, drinking water requires an awkward leg-spread stance — and their bodies are specially engineered to handle massive blood pressure shifts. Their veins, skin, and even their giant hearts are built to fight gravity, inspiring research in everything from medicine to NASA space suits.

Cowboy Cat Steamrolls Little Brother in Snowy Sneak Attack
Every neighborhood deserves a dedicated taskmaster cat whose main priority is keeping us all safe from whatever's out there. They're the silent heroes of the world, slinking behind the shadows to protect even in the coldest months, and we are not worthy.

How To Get Your Cat Into a Costume (Without a Fight)It's a feat in and of itself to convince a feline to don any kind of clothing, let alone a whole costume with a matching hat, but Jack and Monty make fashion look easy. Not all felines will allow this to happen, but experts suggest that a slow introduction to the outfit is a good first start.
You want to give them time to sniff it, get used to being around it, and reward them with plenty of treats. The costume's design also plays a big part, so make sure it's lightweight, comfortable, adjustable, and secure, starting with short try-on sessions and more treats, then repeat with longer sessions.

Loving Black Cat Finds His Way Into Barn to Give Newborn Baby Lambs Kisses on a Chilly Night
Cats are still stereotyped as overly independent and aloof, yet many felines are extremely loving and affectionate. While they may need some space at times, cats enjoy socializing and thrive around other people and pets.
Boots the black cat is a wonderful example of feline compassion and empathy, and recently took it upon himself to comfort two newborn lambs who were shivering in the cold weather.
View this post on InstagramIn the Instagram video from @redfalconranch, Boots hovered over two baby lambs in a low-lit barn. Apparently, the pretty kitty was trying to help out mama lamb Adelaide.
"Last Saturday, Adelaide gave birth at midnight to healthy twins, Yvonne and Rozhay," the caption explained. "It was one of the coldest nights of the year with temps in the teens. Hence the sweaters."
Boots sensed the vulnerability of the newborn lambs and knew they needed some comfort. He quickly stepped up to give Adelaide some time for a snack.
"As soon as Bootsie knew there were new babies, he quickly found his way into the kidding stall," the story continued. "And while Mama Adelaide was distracted eating grain, Boots jumped at the opportunity to give the little ones some kisses."
Boots Has a Heart of GoldThe beautiful black cat is known as a total love bug. After a bit of a rough start in life, Boots blossomed when he finally landed in his forever home and shows his gratitude on a regular basis.
"Boots is one of the most loveable cats I’ve ever met," the caption gushed. "From being passed around as a kitten at the fairgrounds, to ending up at our neighbors, who also didn’t want him, to finally finding his forever home with us. And yet through all that…he never lost his spark."
The feline fur baby also has a soft spot for baby lambs and sticks close by during kidding seasons to lend a paw.

"He loves everyone he meets and especially loves kidding seasons," the text read. "In fact, if the mama allows it, you’ll often find him curled up with the kids underneath the heat lamp. He loves snuggles, and I think the kids do too."
The post concluded with a loving shout out to the very special kitty.
"Love you, Bootsie!! So glad you came into our life."
