His Heartbroken Face Will Break You, but This Shelter Dog’s Ending Is Pure Joy
The car ride started with a heavy silence and a downward gaze.
For a dog that has spent time in the rescue system, a car is not always a precursor to a hike or a pup cup. Often, it is the vehicle that moved them from one temporary cage to another.
One dog posted in Reddit's r/Awwww subreddit thought he was going back to the shelter, and he sat quietly in the front seat. His eyes looked like he was ready to cry, and his entire body seemed to scream, “Are we going back?” He didn’t make a single sound.
No excitement, no curiosity. Just the same subdued posture many shelter dogs fall into when something doesn’t feel right.
And then, everything changed. The car stopped, the door opened and instead of going back to the shelter, this dog found his forever home.
As we see in the video posted on Reddit, within seconds, he started running, spinning and bursting into full-body zoomies as he met his new dog siblings. That is the emotional switch that hits hard.
The Moment He Realized He's Going to His Forever HomeOne Redditor put it perfectly, commenting, “Awwh, the moment he realized he was going to a forever home! Thats just so heartwarming. I hope hes super happy now!"
Others couldn’t get enough of the sweet story, writing, “How can something so beautiful can make me cry my eyes out?”

Do Dogs Have a Sixth Sense?Dogs are far more perceptive than we give them credit for. There is a reason that car ride felt different for the pup in the video.
It is not just scent either. Dogs are also extraordinarily sensitive to the emotional weight of silence. On that car ride, there was no excited chatter, no familiar music, no upbeat tone in the air. Just the quiet that comes when humans are bracing themselves.
For a dog that had already lived through loss, that silence probably felt very familiar.
This dog had been in the system. He'd gone on those car rides before. His body had learned what they meant, and this time, it was wrong. The moment the door opened and the energy shifted, he did not hesitate.
His body made the decision before his mind could catch up. Instead of going back to the shelter, he understood the change of energy that meant he was going to a forever home.

Energetic Pup Wows With Impressive Dance Moves in Intense Standoff With a Cat
There couldn’t be a better example of opposites attracting than the relationship between cats and dogs. Famously combative while simultaneously friendly and harmonious depending on the individual animals, having both species under the same roof will always keep pet parents both on their toes and constantly attempting to record the shenanigans.
In a recent video shared to the r/funnypets subreddit by u/missprolqui, this special relationship is highlighted by a dog and a cat squaring off and putting on quite an impressive fighting display. As the scene plays out, it becomes abundantly clear that the two animals are in completely different fighting classes, as the dog shows off a rather unorthodox style and the cat defends itself in cautious confusion.

Dog’s 'Razzle Dazzle' Leaves Cat Completely Confused“Cat: ‘just fight, why do you dance?’,” u/missprolqui jokingly captioned their post, which has garnered dozens of responses and loads of attention since first uploading.
“If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS,” one viewer chimed in.
The video starts with the two animals face to face, seemingly waiting for the other to make the first move. As the dog’s tail wags, the cat slowly lifts its right paw, and when the dog flinches, the cat suddenly lunges. The two tussle for a second before separating, and that’s where the chaos begins.
As the dog seems to lunge in for a counterattack, instead, it pulls a completely unexpected move and starts spinning in circles. The cat stands still and watches in confusion as the dog makes a couple quick circles, lunges at the cat, makes a couple more quick circles and lunges again, repeating the process.
“It's the old razzle dazzle,” one viewer wrote. “Never let them know your next move, I guess..” another added.
“Dog uses confusion successfully,” a third fan chimed in, while another added, “When your opponent takes the fight in a completely unexpected direction.”
A Perfect Example of Dogs and Cats at PlayAs the video plays out, the same pattern continues, with the two pets occasionally locked in arms for a brief second before the pup resorts back to spinning and the cat sits and watches in disbelief. After about a minute, the dog starts to lose interest, retreats under the dinner table and curls up beneath a chair, leaving the cat to wonder, “what the heck just happened?”
Dogs and cats may look like they’re fighting, but a lot of the time it’s just how they play with each other, especially in households where they are already familiar with one another. And while their play styles can differ in many ways, with dogs being loud and physical while cats are quieter and more calculated, this usually leads to some pretty hilarious confusion between the two.
Healthy play between the two species generally involves some form of chase, swatting and taking turns roughhousing without actually trying to hurt each other. Though it can look chaotic from an outsider’s perspective, as long as both animals keep engaging without the other trying to escape, it’s usually a sign they’re just having fun and figuring each other out or settling some differences in the moment.
In the case of this hilarious cat and dog duo, we’ll chalk this one up to a win for the cat as the dog seemed to be the first to back down despite the heavy onslaught of spinning moves. And as the two take some time to decompress from the physical confrontation, maybe the cat will use the opportunity to plan a better counterattack for next time.

Dachshund Begs Like Crazy for a Bite of 'Raising Canes' and People Want Justice
Some dogs will beg politely. Percy the dramatic Dachshund? She's putting on a full performance.
There's a TikTok from @percy.lynn2 where Percy's watching her human eat Raising Cane's chicken, and the caption reads, "She's a real big fan of @Raising Cane's 🐶🍗" which is an understatement.
The text overlay says "Percy really wanted some Canes" and the video proves it. Percy's doing the tippy taps. The pleading eyes. The full-body wiggle. She's deploying every weapon in the begging arsenal.
And the internet had strong opinions about whether Percy got any chicken.

"My dachshund also dances for the things she wants" confirming this is standard Dachshund behavior.
"The little tippy taps 🥹," capturing what everyone was watching.
Percy's technique is flawless. The tippy taps alone would be enough, but she's combining multiple strategies simultaneously. It's advanced begging.
Dogs Beg for Food Because the Behavior Gets RewardedHere's what's happening with Percy's performance: begging is a learned behavior. Dogs try something, it works, they file that information away and repeat it. If pleading eyes once produced a piece of chicken, those eyes are coming out at every meal going forward.
Dogs are hardwired to pursue food. Their sense of smell is extraordinary, and the moment something appealing hits the air, their brain lights up. Percy smelling Raising Cane's chicken? Her brain's telling her that smells incredible and she'd like some.

The begging habit develops through trial and error. Percy's clearly figured out what works—the tippy taps, the stare, the wiggle, the full production. Whether it actually gets her chicken is between Percy and her human.
But based on the comments demanding justice for Percy, the internet's pretty clear on what should happen.
Percy wanted Canes. The people have spoken. And those tippy taps deserve recognition.
Justice for Percy. 🍗
Great Dane Gets One Last Tearful, Happy Birthday Before Crossing Rainbow Bridge
Some moments stay with you for your entire life and change you forever. For Duke the Great Dane's family, singing "Happy Birthday" to their beloved brown-eyed boy on his last day was that moments.
The TikTok from @yenib9421 shows Duke shrouded in love surrounded by his family just hours before he would cross the rainbow bridge. The caption reads: "His quality of life declined so fast. I can't wait to see my beautiful brown-eyed boy again! 🤎"
The text overlay addresses something people often say when they don’t know what else to say: "'They can't feel emotions.' But this is my soul dog as we sing happy birthday to him one last time a few hours before he gets put to sleep."

Great Danes Form Deep Bonds With Their Families Despite Shorter LifespansGreat Danes are known as "gentle giants" for good reason, they are patient, affectionate, and bond deeply with their family. They'd rather be inside with family than anywhere else in the world. They follow you room to room and they lean against your legs with their full weight. They have no idea that they're enormous.
The devestating truth is that their average lifespan runs between six and eight years—significantly shorter than most breeds. Anyone who loves a Great Dane (and other big dogs) knows the time togehter feels both too short and completely unforgettable.

English Bulldog Gets Caught Stealing Dog Food and the Evidence Is Priceless
My dogs are always on the hunt for food. Whether they are begging at the dinner table or searching for scraps on the floor, my Dachshund and my Pug mix throw their morals and manners out the window when it comes to finding any little crumb they uncover. They don't care who the tidbit belongs to or where it came from — any morsel of food is considered fair game.
Norman the Bulldog may have the same mindset regarding meals. His mom walked in on a trail of dog kibble strewn about the floor that was clearly stolen, and the clues all led to him being the culprit.
@normnormmnormanSo this happened and our dog sitter sent the video to my mom & dad!!!! @Walmart #dogsoftiktok #norman #englishbulldog #bulldogsoftiktok #ididit @Jimmy Kimmel Live
♬ original sound - NormanThe evidence was clear-cut and unrefutable. A wide trail of dog food was scattered across the floor. Even the scooping cup was carelessly tossed aside during the kibble caper, with the thief showing no apparent concern over covering their tracks.
A Golden Retriever mix was lying on the floor, minding his own business and just as confused about the robbery as his mom. Making sure to record all the details to solve the hasty heist, the dogs' sitter went over the sequence of events.
"Ok, so there was a bag of dog food right there — I don't know who did it," Norman's dog sitter said, pointing to one corner of the room. The camera panned along the pathway of kibble, which ended at Norman's crate. "I'm guessing it was this guy."
Norman Had No RegretsA trail of morsels led to Norman, who was chilling in his crate with a huge open bag of dog food. The crafty canine was mid-chew when the sitter called him out on his thievery. Yet the Bulldog barely blinked an eye and didn't seem at all remorseful.
Followers got a kick out of Norman's cavalier attitude and brazen burglary of the family's kibble stash.
"And he’s still munching! No shame," one remarked.
"Not even sorry," another noted.

Baby Ragdoll Kitten Playing With Her Mom’s Tail Is the Cutest Villain
Raising young is not easy for anyone. It doesn't matter if you're human or not: there are going to be times when your babies get on your nerves, and that's fine. It seems like their singular mission is to do things that get under your skin sometimes.
That's not true, though. Take this Ragdoll kitten, for example: she didn't want to make her mom's day worse, she just wanted to play. The toy she wanted to play with just so happened to be attached to her mom. It's her tail:
@pearlsragdollsUnicorn loves to attack her mom and her siblings
♬ original sound - Pearl’s RagdollsPearl's Ragdolls are all seasoned veterans when it comes to dealing with the babies, don't worry. Their kittens are raised in-house: they all live together. There's also a senior Golden Retriever and a couple of human kids! These are some very well-rounded kittens.
Unicorn is part of the newest batch of kittens, and she's been one of the most... Unique so far. She loves to attack everyone, from her mom and siblings to her human caretaker, Pearl. She goes after paws, tails, toes, and anything else she can pounce on. She's a skilled huntress!

Luckily, Unicorn's mom doesn't really care. Her tail is fluffy enough that she hardly feels anything, and she's so used to it by this point! All of her kittens have done the same thing. She's just glad they have something fun to do. When they're not chasing tails, they're fashion models!
@pearlsragdollsTurning my model cats into true models
♬ NOT CUTE ANYMORE - ILLITDo you wear wigs? Will you wear wigs? I love these cats and their fun haircuts. They kind of remind me of Moira Rose from Schitt's Creek, who is one of my favorite TV characters of all time. They make me want a Ragdoll kitten so badly!
Kittens Are AdventurousIf you're thinking about getting a kitten, you need to be prepared for shenanigans like these. Kittens aren't trying to hurt you when they do things like this! They're just exploring the world, and they're trying to hone their hunting instincts.

Even though this kind of behavior is normal, you should definitely work on correcting it as soon as it appears. Fingers, toes, and other cats' body parts aren't toys! Just gently redirect them with toys or another activity. Eventually, they'll learn what's appropriate!

Black Cockatoo’s Perfect ‘School Picture Smile’ Is the Cutest Thing We've Ever Seen
I can't be the only kid who absolutely dreaded picture day. I hated everything about it, and every year, I was actively trying to skip it. Unfortunately, most schools I went to made us carry our school IDs around. There was no getting out of it!
One Black Cockatoo would absolutely crush school picture day if they had school for birds. His smile is perfect in every single way, and I think I might have just fallen in love! Can I get this on a magnet? He's so handsome, I want to put it on my fridge:

Birds, unfortunately, do not smile as humans do. They do not have the facial muscles for it. If you see your bird "smiling," it's definitely just a coincidence. However, birds love to show their happiness in other ways, such as:
- Fluffing up the feathers on their crest.
- Nestling in to nap with you.
- Happily chattering whenever you walk by.
- Trying to preen you.
Happy birds are loud, playful birds. If you've got a bird who loves to be with you, you can trust that you've done a good job. Puppy's mom definitely has!

Visitors Say This Peaceful Otter Nursery Feels Almost Too Magical To Be Real
Have you ever heard someone say "go to your happy place" as a way to help reduce stress by picturing the most peaceful place you can imagine? It's all in your brain, but this happy place is the perfect environment to help life slow down, make noise fade away, and it's magic. Well, there might be a real-life version of that happy place where you could visit for real, and it seems almost too good to be true.
In this video, we're introduced to an otter nursery right in the open, filled with the most peaceful energy as the animals play, float, and rest together. People who have been there in real life say it feels unreal in person, and you get a little of that huge flush of magic watching this clip. Take a look!

How Long Do Sea Otters Stay With Their Moms? This is such a magical picture, seeing all these adorable families together in this little nursery where they all help take care of each other. But have you wondered how long they stay with their moms? Experts have the answer.
According to Shedd Aquarium, in the wild, otters tend to stay with their moms for around six months after they have developed the necessary survival skills, including finding their food and diving up to 250 feet deep for clams and other food. Otters show their babies how to use tools like rocks to open some food, and before they know it, they're ready to leave the nursery.
We're so thankful that things like this exist in the real world, not just in the safe, happy spaces in our heads.
'Lost' Chihuahua Is Found Sleeping in the Cutest, Most Unlikely Spot
If you’ve ever wondered why your Chihuahua isn’t just by your side but practically attached to it, this is for you. Chihuahuas are more than just expert cuddlers. This tiny dog breed seeks the warmth and security of human contact, which means staying in close proximity to their primary human. They’re tiny, after all, with very short coats coupled with high metabolisms, which means Chihuahuas can get cold fast. They’re also nesters by nature, drawing from their pack animal instincts. When you become their human, you become their pack.
In a sweet viral video that just crossed our feed, an adorable Chihuahua named Coco can be seen happily nesting while sleeping. Mom writes that she couldn’t find her pup. It turns out Coco wasn’t “lost”—she was sleeping right behind Mom’s head, tucked between a double layer of pillows on the bed. Coco had nestled herself between the pillows for a cozy night’s sleep, close to Mom and surrounded by comforting warmth.

"She probably feels like she’s being hugged because of the pressure of your body. It makes her feel safe," another theorized.
Commenters also shared other dog breeds who share the same behavior. One wrote, "I have a Yorkie and does the same."
Other viewers did offer concern over "smooshing" their pup. Duly noted, and thank you.
One commenter noted, “You’re her weighted blanket,” which might be more accurate than it sounds. Like a weighted blanket that humans use to calm nerves, stay grounded, and keep warm, Chihuahuas seek out that same sense of comfort and warmth—just from their humans instead.
So the next time you’re missing your pup, take a look between your pillows, in couch cushions, or under your favorite sweater. Your dog isn’t just finding ways to stay warm—it’s also cozying up to familiar scents like Mom, Dad, or any other favorite humans in the pack.
Dachshund 'Discovers His Purpose in Life' and It's Even Better Than It Sounds
There are moments in life when everything suddenly clicks.
For Wally, that moment was dirt.
In this video, the little Dachshund discovers digging, and it is not just cute. It is the kind of life-changing realization usually reserved for people who move to the woods, start baking sourdough, or get really into pottery. Wally hits the ground, starts digging, and immediately looks like he has found the one thing he was put on this earth to do.
@wallyandkirbyhe gets surprised everytime he throws dirt back 😂 #minidachshund #dachshund #dogdigging #happydog #dachshundpuppy
♬ Buying - Steve JablonskyThe caption says, “When Wally discovered his purpose in life 2,” and honestly, that is not dramatic enough. This is not a casual new interest. This is destiny. This is a tiny, long-bodied man having a full spiritual awakening in loose soil.
You can see it all over his face.
The focus.
The urgency.
The absolute conviction.
He is not just pawing around because he is bored. He looks like every scoop of dirt is unlocking ancient knowledge passed down through generations of very determined little sausage dogs. Somewhere deep in his DNA, a tiny voice clearly said, yes, this. More of this.
And if you know Dachshunds, that makes perfect sense.
These dogs were built to go after things underground. So watching Wally discover digging feels less like learning a trick and more like activating a family trait. It is giving inherited talent. It is giving natural-born specialist. It is giving, “I don’t know who I was before this, but he is gone now.”
And honestly, I get it. My dog, Lola, is a digger, too. She absolutely knows the thrill of deciding one patch of earth has suddenly become her personal mission. There is something about watching a pooch lock into a digging project that feels both hilarious and deeply serious. They are not just making a mess. They are pursuing truth.
That is why this kind of video works so well. It is funny, simple, and full of personality. Wally is not performing. He is becoming.
And frankly, that is compelling content.
Natural Instincts Need Safe OutletsWally’s big dirt breakthrough is hilarious, but it's also a good reminder that dogs often feel happiest when they get safe ways to use their instincts. Digging, sniffing, shredding, and searching are not just random chaos; they can be genuinely enriching. Humane World for Animals recommends giving pets ways to explore and interact with their environment, which can help prevent boredom and channel energy in healthier ways.
Honestly, Wally dug like he had just been personally summoned by the planet.

‘Basking Shark’ Spotted off the Coast of San Diego Looks Like It Belongs in a Museum
The ocean and I have a love-hate relationship. I love learning about all of the cool things living in it, but the thought of being in the ocean myself makes me itchy. No way! I will gladly stay here, on land, and spread the enjoyment of the ocean to others.
You're welcome: look at this awesome Basking Shark! They caught footage of him off the coast of San Diego, California, and it was such a treat. This shark is a rare one to spot, and I think this is the closest we're going to get to a megalodon:
@scripps_oceanography👀 What started as a whale watching trip ended in a once-in-a-lifetime encounter! 🌊 Scripps Oceanography PhD candidate and shark expert Jack Elstner recently encountered a basking shark in San Diego while captaining a whale watching expedition off of San Diego. Basking Sharks Are Filter FeedersBasking sharks are absolutely massive: they're the second-largest shark species on the planet! You might think that they get to that size by eating huge fish, or entire schools of tiny ones... But that's not the case. Basking Sharks are filter feeders!

Some studies claim that Basking Sharks have at least 1,000 tiny teeth, but they're not used for eating! As filter feeders, Basking Sharks have specialized rakers to consume:
- Zooplankton
- Krill
- Shrimps/small crustaceans.
They eat massive amounts of them at a time. Basking sharks filter about 2,000 tons of water through their gill rakers per hour, netting them hundreds of pounds of food per day.
Why Are They Called 'Basking Sharks?'Basking sharks are called that because of the way they eat. Typically, you'll find them "basking" near the surface of the water. That's where some of the most nutritious zooplankton and other tiny species are!
Occasionally, you'll catch them hanging out of the water a little bit. They can be found all over, though there's something special about those California sharks!

♬ original sound - NewVisionCatClubSomali Cats are known for their striking appearance, but their personalities are just as big. They are playful, curious, and incredibly active, which means they are not the kind of kitty who just sits around all day doing nothing.
They tend to be very social and enjoy interacting with their humans, often following them around and getting involved in whatever is happening. If you want a cat who feels more like a little companion than a quiet roommate, this is that.
They are also intelligent and need stimulation, whether that is toys, climbing spaces, or just regular attention. A bored Somali Cat will absolutely find ways to entertain themselves, and you may or may not appreciate those choices.
And then there is the coat. That signature fluffy, fox-like tail and rich coloring do require some maintenance, so regular brushing helps keep everything looking as dramatic as it should.
Basically, you are getting a cat who looks like a tiny fire creature… and acts like one, too.

Macaw Telling Mom He Hurts and Is 'Going To Cry' Is Breaking Hearts
Birds are some of the smartest, most emotionally intelligent animals on the planet. Many of the Parrot species, like Cockatoos and Macaws, are often compared to human toddlers because of how well they understand the world around them and how they fit into it, and their robust vocabularies prove as much.
Hook is a Macaw, technically, but this precious little angel has to be a human on some level. When telling Mom about an injury, he's not just repeating words or phrases but saying exactly what hurts and that it's so painful he's going to cry. I wasn't planning on sobbing today, not until I saw sweet Hook's emotional plea (you've been warned).
@dorecountry ♬ original sound - Hook - talking MacawIt's clear Hook comprehends the weight of his words. By telling Mom his "bobo" hurts while showing her his "elbow," then adding he's "going to cry," is unreal! Macaws have genius-level IQ—and not just compared to birds, but all animals—and this one really got me in the heart.

Hook and his adorable conversation make me want to jump through the screen and hug him, and it's not the first time he's done something human-like.
One of his most viral videos shows the funny Parrot on a bit of a rampage as he plays with his dad's empty beer can and cusses Mom out! He has the mouth of a trucker one minute, and then he follows up with something sweet as pie. Hook really is something!
Then, on the flip side, he's just a good boy who wants to play peekaboo. I guess you could say Hook has many sides to him, and they're all entertaining!
@dorecountry ♬ original sound - Hook - talking Macaw How Smart Are Macaws?Macaws are one of the smartest birds in the world, with cognitive abilities comparable to a 3- to 5-year-old human toddler! These emotionally and socially aware birds can communicate their feelings through vocalizations and behaviors, expressing moods like us.
They understand anger, jealousy, fear, and love, happily sharing those feelings with their human "flock." When it comes to problem-solving and training, Macaws can learn complicated tricks and even how to use tools for foraging and building their habitat.
All of this to say, when Hook says his "bobo" hurts and he's going to cry, he knows exactly what he's saying and what it means. Here's hoping he feels better soon so our hearts can heal right along with him!

Super Rare Corgi-Malamute Mix Just Looks Like a Mega-Corgi and It’s Amazing
I love Corgis so much. I've always wanted one, but I've also always known that herding breeds are simply not for me. I just can't handle being herded or having my ankles nipped at all the time, which is how many of them operate.
Instead, I just like to watch them. They're so beautiful... And for one Husky Malamute mix, he's everything every Corgi lover has dreamed of. The Malamute doesn't really come through, except for where it matters... He looks like a mega-Corgi! How awesome is that?!

Apollo is beloved by everyone who sees him. He has a couple of classic moves, including his wave. He stands on his hind legs and waves his front paws at anyone and everyone he sees! It's pretty much guaranteed to make everyone's day the moment they see it, as it should!
Apollo is a Corgi-Malamute mix, which is pretty rare: those just aren't two breeds most people would consider mixing together even in their wildest dreams. When mixed, though, they apparently make mega Corgis, which is the silliest thing in the world. Here he is winning over people at Home Depot:

What Are Corgi-Malamute Dogs Like?Corgi-Mutes might be a rare breed, but they are certainly an awesome one. Additionally, this is exactly the type of breed you could very reasonably come across in a shelter. Whether you're thinking of buying one from a breeder or you've found one in a shelter, you need to know what you're getting into.

These dogs are sweet, smart, and absolutely stunning, but they're not for beginners. Both Corgis and Malamutes require experienced caretakers, and their offspring are no different. As wonderful as the Corgi-Malamute mix might be, they have some issues:
- They're prone to escaping.
- They can be very stubborn.
- Without proper enrichment, they can turn aggressive.
- They can be prone to biting.
If you can really handle one, these are awesome dogs. Just giant, fluffy Corgis!

Woman Made Her Boyfriend and His Dog Matching Puffer Jackets—and It’s the Most Adorable Thing
If you thought matching outfits were just for couples, think again, because this dog dad–dog duo just raised the bar, thanks to one very talented girlfriend.
A post on Reddit’s r/sewing is going viral after one woman shared a custom puffer jacket she designed and made for her boyfriend’s dog, Lola. And yes, it perfectly matches the one she made for her boyfriend.
The result is equal parts functional, fashionable and ridiculously cute.

A Matching Moment That Stole the ShowIn the photos, Lola—a tiny pup who looks like a Chihuahua mix—is bundled up in a perfectly fitted mini puffer, complete with sleeves, a hood and cinching pulls. The craftsmanship alone is impressive, but it’s the matching moment with her human that really has people losing it.
“I feel like you’re burying the lead here,” one person wrote in the comment section. “Yes that’s an adorable dog jacket but it looks like you made MATCHING JACKETS for your boyfriend and his dog!!!”
And she confirms: yes, she made both.
Related: Dachshund Dresses for Cold Weather With a Headscarf and Boots and He's the Picture of Chic
Designed With Purpose (and Serious Skill)According to the creator, the project started with a practical goal. “We go on lots of hikes and Lola gets cold easily,” she explained, which inspired her to design a custom jacket tailored specifically to the pup.
Using Clo3D, she mapped out the design after taking Lola’s measurements, then printed the pattern and adjusted it as she went. She even used a translucent nylon outer layer with a synthetic filling—mixed with faux moss—to create that unique, slightly green, textured look.
She also revealed that she had previously designed the human version of the jacket, which made it easier to mirror the same details, like the hood, sleeve cuffs and adjustable elements, on Lola’s mini version.
The Internet (and Lola) Weigh InPair an adorable dog with a tiny jacket, and naturally the people of Reddit had a lot to say.
“This is the cutest thing I have ever seen omg,” one person commented, while another declared it “the most amazing thing I’ve seen this side of 2026.”
But the most important review is Lola’s. When asked if she actually likes wearing it, the creator shared a very relatable answer: “She tucks her paws away at the start of our hikes to avoid us putting it on and as soon as she gets a little cold she practically jumps in it.”
Sounds about right!
Cold Weather, but Make It FashionBetween the thoughtful design, the technical skill and the undeniable cuteness factor, it’s no surprise this post struck a chord. And honestly, major credit goes to the girlfriend behind it all—because thanks to her, both Lola and her boyfriend are staying warm in style.
Rescue Pit Bull With ‘Big Feelings’ Has the Sweetest Way of Saying Hello
You can almost feel the energy in the room shift for a dog when the day is over. Her people are back. Everything is right again.
In a viral Reddit video in the r/pitbulls subreddit, we see a couple of scenes of Louise, a rescue pit bull, welcoming her parents home for the day. She has a lot to say, but she does not use her voice to say it. Instead, she does something remarkable.
When her parents walk through the front door, this rescue pit bull does not just wag her tail; she immediately scans the room for a very specific peace offering.
A shoe. Tail wagging, eyes soft and her entire body wiggling, she carries the shoe like it is the most important object in the house.
She trots over proudly, holding the shoe as if she’s presenting a gift. She doesn’t chew it or run off. She just stands there, soaking in the reunion, like this small act completes the moment.
Whether it is a stray sneaker or a discarded flip-flop, Louise must have a shoe in her mouth before she can officially begin her welcome home dance.
And of course, the cherry on the cake is the zoomies at the end of the video.
Commenters Love LouiseRedditors loved seeing Louise's emotions, and several people commented that they could relate to seeing this kind of welcome. One person wrote, “my pit grabs whatever is on the floor when I walk in. I guess that's their way of dealing with excited emotions.” Another person said, “Our girl has an emotional support slipper too.”
The way Louise's body moves is also a sight to behold. As one person put it, “Love the rattlesnake tail shake.”
Related: Shelter Dog Goes on Simple Walk—Then the Unthinkable Happens
A Strange Yet Comforting HabitDogs build routines around emotional moments, and coming home is one of the biggest emotional peaks of their day.
For Louise, the shoe isn’t random. It carries her humans’ scent more strongly than almost anything else in the house. That makes it grounding. Familiar. Safe.
If you’ve ever noticed your dog grabbing socks, shoes or even laundry when they’re excited, it’s often their way of channeling that emotional overload into something physical. It gives them something to do with all that energy.
And for them, it is surprisingly calming. Instead of jumping, barking or pacing, Louise has turned her excitement into a predictable, gentle behavior.
You’ve Probably Seen Your Own VersionMaybe your dog brings you a toy. Maybe they grab something they’re not supposed to have. Maybe they spin in circles or freeze for a second like they can’t quite process that you’re actually home.
These small, repeated behaviors aren’t random. They’re how dogs manage big feelings in a world they don’t fully control. That shoe is just a shoe, but to Louise, it's the whole world walking back through the door.

Labrador Retriever Decides Turtle Is Her New Bestie and the Cutest Chaos Ensues
Many dogs love to befriend other animals. Canines are curious and intrigued by other species and usually find more common ground than differences. It's not always a perfect match but there are times when a relationship forms.
Roxy the chocolate Labrador Retriever recently met a turtle roaming in her neighborhood and wanted to make a new friend.
@alissaflanagan__I’m minding my own business watching TV and look over to see my dog, Roxy, chilling with a turtle on the couch like she’s hanging with her bestie. This is the second time this week the turtle has been inside. We’ve already relocated it once. Maybe it likes it here?? 🐢 #dog #wildlife #crazydogs
♬ Funny Song - Sounds Reel & Funny Song Studio & Thomas Hewitt JonesRoxy was chilling on the couch with her new turtle BFF in front of her, lying on its back. When Roxy's mom walked in and saw the impromptu playdate, she was a bit put off.
"Ma'am, why is there a turtle on my couch?" she asked her canine cutie. "Leave that turtle alone."
Roxy looked at her mom like she didn't understand what the problem was. Apparently, this wasn't the first time she invited the turtle over.
"That is the second time you've brought the turtle in this week," her mom continued. "We have already put it at the front of the house, and I guess it came back into the backyard and you brought it in again."
Despite her mom's protests, Roxy didn't move a muscle or make any attempt to show her turtle pal to the door. Her mother tried reasoning with her by giving her the turtle's point of view.
"That turtle has seen some things and it doesn't want to be in your mouth and it probably doesn't want to be in this house, and I don't want it on my couch," her mom explained.
Roxy stared straight ahead, possibly pretending not to hear a word her mom said. She clearly didn't agree with her mother and hoped to silenty change the subject.
Roxy's Mom Made a SuggestionThough the loving Labrador was being a good neighbor by inviting her new pal inside, Roxy's mom felt it was time for the turtle to go back to where it would be more comfortable.
"Let's maybe put that back outside," her mom prompted, though Roxy didn't look like a fan of the idea.
Roxy's mom wondered if the turtle enjoyed her canine's company and liked the cozy indoor environment.

Roxy's plan to pretend she didn't hear her mom, or that the turtle was invisible, obviously didn't work. Hopefully, her mom let them hang out together outside.

Unusual and Adorable Big-Eared Rescue Pup Looks Like She 'Belongs In a Pixar Film'
Little Sage, a truly stunning white mixed-breed rescue pup, is capturing hearts with her oversized ears, bright blue eyes, and overall cartoonish presence. In this recent TikTok showing Sage's largely unchanged physical development over the last two years, viewers believe the pup 'belongs in a Pixar film' and that she's "a forever puppy" because of her perpetually petite appearance.
@brookeandsageMy baby is nearly two now! #dogsoftiktok #dogtok #dogmom #doglover
♬ Riptide - Vance JoyAnother devoted fan asserts that Sage's pronounced ears aren't ears at all, but 'angel wings' befitting the heavenly pooch. This unique canine really is a delightful sight, thanks to a buffet of genetic traits she inherited from numerous breeds in her lineage. According to another clip on Sage's account, genetic testing has revealed that she's a "super mutt" composed mostly of Chihuahua and Miniature Schnauzer, along with a smattering of other breeds, like Dachshund, German Shepherd, and Poodle. I think it's safe to say that Sage really is one of a kind and absolutely darling to follow.
Related: Internet's 'Most Elegant' Maine Coon Cat Is Truly a Sight to Behold
Breeds Blessed With Big EarsHow did Sage come by such unique ears, given her tiny size? It's hard to know exactly which of her genetic predecessors blessed Sage with her ears, but there are several that could be responsible. Chihuahuas, Poodles, Dachshunds, and German Shepherds are members of the big-eared club and are all part of Sage's background. Other breeds such as Bloodhounds, Bassett Hounds, Corgis, and French Bulldogs are also known for their oversized ears, but none seem to be in Sage's DNA.
To me, Sage's pointy ears with their long strands of fur most resemble those of the Papillon, a breed actually named for its butterfly-like ears. Testing says otherwise, however, and the wild thing about inheritance: it's a total gamble with random combinations of parental genes creating unique traits.
Whether your dog has big, small, pointy, or floppy ears, keeping them healthy really comes down to a few simple habits—plus knowing that not all ears are created equal.
First, check them regularly. A quick look (and sniff) can help you catch issues early—things like redness, odor, discharge, or excessive scratching are your first clues something’s off.
Cleaning matters, but not in an overdo-it way. Floppy ears typically need more frequent cleaning, while pointy ears can often get by with less. The goal is to remove wax and debris without irritating the ear.
Moisture is the real troublemaker, especially for floppy ears. After baths or swimming, make sure ears are fully dry—otherwise you’re basically creating the perfect environment for bacteria and yeast.
Dogs with pointy ears do have a bit of an advantage here—better airflow naturally helps keep things dry and reduces the risk of infection. That said, they’re not totally off the hook. Dirt, debris, and even parasites can still build up, so occasional checks and light cleaning are still important.
Overall health also plays a role. A well-balanced diet, regular exercise, and routine vet visits all support ear health more than you might think.

Tiny Newborn Dachshund Puppies Are the Cutest Little 'House Dragons'
Some people call them weinner dogs. Some say hot dogs and some, like my daughter, like to call them corn dogs. But the internet's newest favorite nickname for Dachshunds? The hilariously accurate ‘House dragons’.
There's a precious TikTok video from @wildideaswithbrian showing a snuggly, warm pile of scrumptious newborn miniature Dachshund puppies. The caption: "You wanna see some newborn baby house dragons? I'll show them to you. Here they are."
And there they are in all their doxxie glory. Tiny, wrinkled, barely mobile bundles of pure joy with those signature long bodies and short legs already visible even at this early stage. The video shows each one—a "desert camel" colored pup, what looks like a red dapple, and a solid black puppy with a white crest that the owner jokes could be sold as "a false Labrador."

The comments immediately embraced the house dragon terminology.
"I will now be referring to my dachshund as 'a house dragon'" one Dachshund fan declared, officially adopting the new name.

"I'm a Dachshund parent and I've been having SERIOUS weenie puppy fever. This does not help. 😭" because seeing newborn anythings makes everyones ovaries twitch.
"I love their jellybean phase" describing that early wrinkly stage perfectly.
"Dragon pile! How cute are they!" capturing the adorableness of the situation.
The owner mentions these particular puppies have racing potential. Their mom is the fastest wiener dog in the household, and their dad, Richard Brutus, is fast too. So there is hope that these little house dragons can someday win some wiener dog races.
Miniature Dachshunds Weigh Eleven Pounds or Under When Fully GrownHere's what makes these newborns so special: Dachshunds come in two sizes—standard and miniature. Miniatures weigh eleven pounds or less when they’re fully grown, while standards usually fall between 16 and 32 pounds. Both varieites are low to the ground and, usually under nine inches tall.

They also come in three coat varieties—smooth, long-haired, and wire-haired—and a range of colors including red, black, chocolate, and dappled patterns. Coat type actually influences personality. Long-haired Dachshunds tend to be calmer and more laid back, while smooth-coats are more high-spirited and intense. Meanwhile, wire-haired Dachshunds have a reputation as the clowns of the group.
The name itself tells their origin story: "Dach" means badger and "hund" means dog in German. These adorable dogs were bred for this exact purpose; to hunt badgers by following them into underground burrows. Their short, powerful legs were built for digging.
But, now? These adorably sweet fur babies who happen to look like tiny dragons when they're brand new?
House dragons. And it fits perfectly.
7 Orange Cat Breeds Everyone Will Fall in Love With
If you've always been dreamed of becoming a pet parent, you probably have a long wishlist of elements you want in a cat, ranging from looks to personality. For many, orange cat breeds top the list thanks to their striking coats. From fluffy orange cats who love cuddles to curious ginger cats who keep you entertained, these colorful felines bring personality, charm and companionship to any home. To help you narrow down your choices, we enlisted vets to share 7 orange cat breeds that make great companions.
So, whether you’re looking for a family-friendly orange cat or a bold, adventurous feline, there’s an orange cat breed that’s perfect for your lifestyle. Of course, like humans, a cat’s hair color doesn’t determine how they’ll act. “Even though there are cat breeds that are expected to have a big personality if they are orange, this does not necessarily mean that the cat’s coat color dictates how the cat will behave,” says Aimee Warner, DVM, resident veterinarian at Waggel. “Breed, environment, and early socialization are some of the factors that are at play here.” So, while redheads have a reputation for being spunky and fun, getting a ginger cat doesn’t automatically mean your feline will fall into those categories."
Because of that, there are tons of cat breeds with orange coats to choose from that have all kinds of amazing personality traits. From large orange cats that rival dogs in size to adorable warm-hued lovebugs who just want to cuddle, to smart cream-and-orange cats, these breeds of orange cats have more to offer than just a pretty coat. Check them all out, below and see which one is purrfect for you!

Maine Coon An orange Maine coon cat sitting. If you want a big ginger cat, the Maine Coon is one you should consider! Why? This is one of the largest domestic cat breeds out there. This fluffy feline, which has a range of coat colors, including orange, loves to spend time with its humans. Warner points out that even though they are large in size, these sometimes creamsicle-colored cats have an easygoing demeanor and are also highly affectionate without being clingy.
As giant orange cats, Maine Coons are usually compared to dogs, both in their size and love of playing games like fetch. They’ll also “talk” to you, using trills and chirps to get their messaging across. They’re incredibly smart, too, and love playing with water. Besides that, Warner notes that Maine Coons are impressively socially aware too and while they love to play with their owners and snuggle on laps, they’re also happy to just hang nearby.
Breed Stats- Personality: Gentle, friendly, affectionate

- Lifespan: 12.5+ years

Some cat lovers are originally drawn to American Shorthairs due to their short coats, which can lead to less fur tumbleweeds than some other breeds. The good news is, their fur comes in lots of colors, so if you're looking for a shorthaired orange cat breed, you'll love these kitties. But these felines have plenty of personality perks most people can get behind as well. In fact, the American Shorthair is known for its easygoing, happy personality, giving you and your cat plenty of good times ahead.
Julie Hunt, DVM, a veterinarian contributor at Embrace Pet Insurance, describes this cute breed of orange cat as friendly and affectionate, noting that they’re usually up for a good cuddle. “American Shorthair cats are intelligent, frequently talkative, and playful,” she says. They’re also usually content in a range of households, from families to people who live alone.

This cat is super-smart, high-energy and agile, which makes them great for playing games and learning tricks. You can even teach your Ocicat to respond to voice commands, Bonk says. Somalis are great companions as well. “Somalis form deep bonds with their families and will rely on them for entertainment and affection,” Bonk says. They’re also vocal, so expect your pet to speak up when the mood strikes. “Their vocal personality will also let their families know when they need something,” Bonk says. Overall, the Somali is a true family-friendly orange cat that’s impossible not to adore.

Don’t let their signature “grumpy” expression fool you—these felines are full of personality. “The Exotic Shorthair cat often presents a gentle and tranquil nature, but it also has an amusing and expressive vibe that may surprise others,” Warner says. “It’s this mix of calm and playful that makes them such lovable pets.”
These handsome orange cats thrive on attention and enjoy spending time with people. “They appreciate having a routine and being provided with a cozy place to rest,” Warner says. “Although they are not considered to be chaotic or naughty, there are times when they may surprise owners with a playful and amusing side, especially if they are comfortable and relaxed.” Warner stresses that this adorable breed is a great companion. “They may look very serious but are very loving and affectionate,” she says.
