Golden Retrievers Rushing to Greet Mail Carrier Bestie Bring the Ultimate Dose of Joy
Get yourself a bestie that greets you the way these three Goldens greet their favorite mail carrier, and you'll be set for life.
In this absolutely adorable TikTok, a trio of delighted Golden Retrievers enjoys "the best part of the day" after waiting to greet the woman who delivers the mail. With tails wagging uncontrollably, the dogs run to the fence at the arrival of their bestie, who happily exits her mail truck to return the love. With treats and cuddles for each pup, the woman thanks the canine welcome party for what we can only imagine is the best part of her route as well.

♬ Golden - Harry Styles"Imagine having a hard day at work, but then you get to go to this stop?" asks one viewer, clearly touched.
Others are living vicariously through this lucky lady:
"So this is the goal," comments on person.
"Literally a dream," agrees another.
While a third sums it up best, "What kind of Nancy Meyers movie is this?"
The greatest kind, that's what. Nancy, are you watching?

Golden PersonalitiesLuckily for this mail carrier, Goldens are far friendlier than turkeys are to UPS delivery men, but that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's had experience with this affable breed. Golden Retrievers are basically the emotional support friend of the dog world — and that reputation isn’t just internet lore. The breed standard itself describes them as friendly, reliable, and trustworthy, with kind expressions that reflect their temperament.
They were originally bred to work closely alongside people (retrieving waterfowl for hunters), and that history matters. Goldens weren’t designed to be independent guard dogs — they were designed to cooperate with humans all day long. That’s why they naturally seek connection, eye contact, and reassurance, and why they tend to bond with everyone in the household rather than choosing a single person.
Their friendliness also extends outward, as we can clearly see in the video. Golden Retrievers generally get along well with children, strangers (mail carriers!), and other animals, which is why they’re often described as ideal family dogs. Though the flip side is they’re famously terrible watchdogs because they greet intruders like guests.
What people experience as “warmth” is really a combination of traits: eagerness to please, emotional sensitivity to human behavior, and a steady, gentle temperament. Golden Retrievers aren’t just friendly — they’re relationship-driven dogs. Being near their humans isn’t a preference for them; it’s the whole point of who they are.

Woman’s Expensive Homemade Dog Dinner Sparks Heated Debate Online
How far is too far when it comes to homemade pet food? In the past several years, we’ve seen owners turning to homemade food for their pets, be it cats or dogs. But is there a line? Human-grade ingredients can be safe for dogs, but at a certain point, we may cross the line from homemade dog meals to luxury meals that cost more than what most people eat daily.
A recent video on YouTube, posted by Kayla Kowalski Nutrition, stirred that debate. To be fair, if you look at her videos, almost all of them are premium meals for her precious dog. But this one got more than 6 million views. The reason? Well, you can see she uses some unique ingredients in this one.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BQjS-adLB2M
We see Kowalski preparing the meal and talking about the ingredients as she films it. We cannot see the dog’s reaction until the very end, when what looks like a rescue dog goes nuts for the bowl.
Related: Toddler's Sweet Reaction to Golden Retriever Having No Food Is Pure Joy
But let’s take a look at the ingredients, including raw whole quail eggs, blue spirulina, decaf green tea and a dehydrated chicken foot. Are they your everyday ingredients? Of course not!
How Did the Internet React? The video is controversial in many ways, but looking at the ingredients, people rightfully so noticed that these are all premium ingredients that most dog parents cannot afford.
In the last few years, we’ve gone from quinoa-era humans to modern pet parents, and this dish raises some eyebrows.
Some of the comments on the luxury aspect of the dish included “this looks like its more expensive than what a human eats in 2 weeks” and “How dogs managed to survive for hundreds of thousands of years without blue spirulina and decaf green tea is a mystery for the ages.”
Others said this dog is living a life that's almost like a human's. Some comments included “This dog got a whole 401k, dental, medical, pto, and sick hours,” and “This dog eating better than half of the people on this planet.”
In an era where food is more expensive than ever and people are working hard to put food on the table, spoiling pets this much can be seen as controversial.
Estimated Cost of DinnerMost of the commenters talked about how expensive this dish is—let’s try to provide an estimated breakdown.
First, we have three raw whole quail eggs, which cost around $0.50 to $1 each. That means we may already have $3 toward this meal.
Next, we have pet-grade blue spirulina powder, which can be pricey, and for a sprinkle on a meal, it can cost up to $2.
A serving of plain Greek yogurt can cost up to $2, depending on the brand.
The premium ingredient here is the dehydrated chicken foot, which sells for between $3 and $6 in stores.
Now let’s take a look at the main ingredient: the air-dried beef recipe. Often, that food cost between $10 and $15 for a small bag, which means it is a few dollars per serving. Add in a dollar for the decaffeinated green tea, and you're near $20 for a single meal. That is easily far above a standard commercial dog meal.
How Safe Are the Ingredients? In the past several years, it seems like everyone is a dog nutritionist. The meal is labeled as a healthy homemade dinner, but exactly how healthy is it?
According to studies, blue spirulina can support immune and gut function at controlled levels. In a proper dosage, blue spirulina is fine, but overdosing can cause mild digestive upset.
Quail eggs are rich in protein, but eating them raw carries a well-documented risk of salmonella infection. Many vets recommend cooking eggs to reduce this risk.
Plain and unsweetened Greek yogurt is safe for most dogs in moderation and provides beneficial probiotics.
But we have to talk about the decaf green tea. While the decaf label says it doesn’t contain caffeine, there are still traces of it. Yes, the emphasis is on trace. In most cases, if the amount doesn’t cross the threshold, it doesn’t mean anything in terms of toxicity. But would you take that risk?
What do you think of this pet meal?

Maltese Happily Sings Along As 'Happy Birthday' Is Delivered in Her 'Native Language'
Just when you think you’ve seen every adorable dog or cat video, social media serves up something you’ve never witnessed before, like, say, a Maltesesinging along to “Happy Birthday.” When we say singing along, we mean pitch-perfect, correct phrasing and all. What’s even more adorable is that this Maltese’s humans are singing “Happy Birthday” to their cute pup in her “native language,” which, as best we can tell, is somewhere between adorable and cuter.
Fans are gushing over this sweet birthday video. Not only is this dog’s sing-along unbelievably sweet, but the fact that her humans made cupcakes with her face on them and gave her a boiled piece of chicken with a candle to blow out is making a case for this being the best dog birthday party to date.
In the video, the Maltese’s family replaces the words of “Happy Birthday” with dog-friendly “wa-wa’s.” In response, the Maltese joins in and sings every word in dog language, of course. The pup’s little voice is enough to make us press play over and over. Judging by the comments section, we know we’re not alone. This video may be the death of our workday, but canines this cute take priority.

♬ In Da Club - 50 CentCommenters had a lot to say, from imagining the contents of the pup’s thought bubble to gushing over the high adorable factor of the video.
“he’s like ‘yall learned my version just for me???’” commented one. Another added, “He’s singing along!”
“The happiness in her voice,” noted another.
Another wrote, “I love seeing dogs properly loved.”
If you’ve been around a Maltese, you know the breed is highly intelligent and known for being a social butterfly that relies on different pitches, tones and styles of communication with the intention of being understood.
This Maltese may not be able to sing the actual words to “Happy Birthday,” but she’s singing along as if she does. She’s letting her humans know she’s completely connected to them and doesn’t want to miss out on the birthday fun, especially since the party is in her honor.
Now, can we talk about the dog-inspired cupcakes? So cute.

Huge Mastiff Decides Human Baby Sister Is 'His' and His Proud Face Says It All
Bringing a new baby home is an adjustment for everyone who lives under your roof — humans, dogs, and any other living things. For some pups, it's going to take a minute to settle into what their new normal looks like now with a baby in the mix, but for others, it's like they were born to be a big brother or a big sister and the time for them to shine has finally arrived.
Watching this video, it seems like this Mastiff definitely has the big brother gene. After seeing these two together, I'm fully convinced that this baby girl has an built in bodyguard — and best friend — for life.
@kelbowwHe decided she’s his 🥹 #mastiffsoftiktok #gentlegiant #dogandbaby #protectivepup #fyp
♬ august - Ophelia WildeThis video from @kelboww shows the sweet way that her pup, Beau, hangs out in the grass with his baby sister, and you can just tell from that look on his face that this is 100% his baby.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the love between these two is mutual, though — just look at the way she smiles, just being near her dog!
He takes his role as a protector very seriously. This is absolutely what real love looks like.
Are Mastiffs a Protective Breed? It's not just that Beau loves his baby sister (which he clearly does), but also that it's instinctual of him to be protective of such a tiny member of his family.
According to the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a breed, Mastiffs are known for being unflinchingly loyal, and those protective instincts are only made more effective by the fact that they are such large and intimidating dogs... even though, if you've ever met one, you know that Mastiffs are actually big softies.
They're also a good dog to adopt if you have or are planning to have kids because of just how gentle and affectionate they can be with the humans they love, and boy, do they appreciate a good snuggle — kind of like the one that Beau is enjoying with his baby in the video.
Not all dogs will mesh with babies right away, but this one certainly has. These two are so lucky to have each other!

Great Pyrenees Hilariously Plays It Cool When Trying to Steal Chips From a Woman's Purse
My dogs are always on the hunt for food. They can be brazen in their attempts to steal any morsel left unattended. Neither my Dachshund nor my Pug mix even try to hide their blatant thievery. When they see or smell any food item that's attainable, nothing gets in the way of achieving their goal.
Ritchie the Great Pyrenees takes a different approach when it comes to a good snack heist. Despite his massive size, he tries to act casual and go unnoticed to make the grab.
@ritchiethepyrA human in a dog suit.. 😆💯 #ritchiethepyr
♬ Cute mischief, scheming (loop) - The PenguinIn the TikTok from @ritchithepyr, the gentle giant was at the park enjoying some nice weather outdoors. He was standing behind a young woman who had her back to him, and her purse lying on the ground unattended. Ritchie saw this as an opportunity.
"Ritchie's trying to sneak into the girl's bag," the onscreen text explained. "She was eating chips, and Ritchie was swimming in the lake."
The sight and aroma of the chips prompted Ritchie to hatch a quick plan. He nonchalantly stood nearby to survey his target.
"As soon as she put the chips in her bag, Ritchie naturally chose that exact spot to stand," the story continued as Ritchie discreetly bent down to sniff the purse, trying determine their exact location. Then he looked around to make sure no one was watching, especially his mom. "Check him making sure I'm not looking."'
Ritchie Remained Calm Under PressureThe Great Pyrenees completely played it cool even as more people came nearby, while monitoring his mom's whereabouts so he wouldn't be reprimanded. A man close to Ritchie caught on to the canine cutie's plan and found it amusing.
"Notice the guy behind Ritchie understand the situation," the text read, as the man had a good laugh. Still, the precious pooch didn't seem deterred from his objective.
Followers didn't find any fault with Ritchie's behavior and got a kick out of his determination.
"He’s just making sure no one else takes her chips while she plays with her dog. What a good boy," one pointed out.
"Ritchie knows what he is doing... The look he gives you like, 'Mom, why do you keep watching? On a mission here...'," another noted.
"I would have gladly offered him the chips," someone remarked.
The video ended before revealing if Ritchie accomplished his mission, but he looked like he wasn't leaving without those chips.

NYC Shelter's Video of Adoptable Dogs Choosing Their Humans Will Have You in Tears
If you’ve been on social media lately (no shame), your feed has likely been filled with heartwarming videos of rescue animals getting to choose which human they want to go home with. The videos usually feature a silent room full of people sitting in anticipation as a rescue dog paces through the rows of chairs before finally jumping into the arms of its new companion. Tears are shed, applause breaks out, but most of those social media videos are created with AI and are completely fake.
The Animal Care Centers of NYC, also known as NYCACC, decided to recreate the AI dog adoption trend — except make it real. They recreated the scenario, but in their social media video, the tearful scene is completely authentic. In the video, which NYCACC shared to its own social media, loving pet adoption hopefuls calmly wait while the dogs sniff around the room and, just like in the AI videos, choose the family who gets to adopt them.
Happy humans are later seen taking their first family photos with their new furry friends.
“We saw an AI video of shelter dogs picking their person… so we made it real. Even a New York City blizzard couldn’t keep the good humans of NYCACC from finding these sweet pups new homes.
View this post on InstagramThey write:
“A blizzard couldn’t stop the event from happening. Multiple pups went home, and even more soaked up the spotlight.”
“Should we do another round of Love at First Wag? Let us know in the comments.”
Comment, they did.

NYCACC Turns a Viral AI Trend Into a Real Adoption Event View this post on InstagramOne pet lover wrote, “What a fantastic idea to bring this to real life! You all are amazing — thank you for all you do.”
Another gushed, “I love that you made this a real thing. At least AI could do one good thing and inspire some real pups to get adopted! Definitely another round!!”
One more shared their own pet adoption story, writing, “Yes please ❤️❤️❤️ When I rescued my first mastiff, Shayla (she was New Hope only), I offered to adopt without even meeting her. I sat in the waiting area among several other people. (This was the old Brooklyn location.) The door opened and Shayla stood there a second and made a beeline directly to me. I stayed seated because her owner described her as standoffish. She threw her head into my lap. Even though I chose her, in reality she chose me. This really hits home. That's all I have to say ❤️❤️”
With over 3 million dogs currently in shelters across the United States, there has never been a better time to rescue a precious pup and make them your forever family member. AI can do a lot, but it can’t replicate the sweet kisses of a dog or the sound of a dog greeting you at the door after a long day at work.
Well done, NYCACC. We can’t wait to see what you do next.

Saint Bernard's Sad Eyes Over Pillows on Couch Inconveniencing Him Will Crack You Up
It has to be hard to be a big dog sometimes. Of course, the biggest, fluffiest dogs among us are still absolutely adorable (duh), but their large size makes it harder for them to do the things smaller dogs can do with ease... and sometimes, that even includes resting comfortably on the couch for the evening.
When it comes to thisSaint Bernard, Kingsley, it is absolutely key that someone moves the pillows off the couch so he has room to lounge, and when they failed to do that, he did not try to hide that he wasn't happy about it.

It's easy to see why he's a little bummed; he really is too big to lay down and really get comfy with those pillows on the way!
Fortunately, the video did have a happy ending, and Kingsley was able to lounge exactly how he wanted to. Just like he deserves!

Do Saint Bernards Need a Lot of Room? It's pretty obvious but still worth stating: As a breed, Saint Bernards are big dogs. They're as gentle as they can be, and they're very friendly and affectionate pets... but sometimes, they do have a "bull in a china shop" way about them.
So while it's totally possible to have a happy Saint Bernard in a smaller living space, you and your dog will both be happier with a bit more room (and plenty of clear paths free of things they could crash into).
One dog trainer recommends that these dogs live in homes that also have a yard, preferably a large one. And if you have a Saint Bernard in a warmer climate, you'll want to make sure that yard includes some shade and that you're offering them water, because they do tend to overheat pretty quicky.
And for everyone's health and happiness, it's key to make sure they're getting enough exercise, which should include a 30-60 minute walk each day.
Don't worry, they will thank you for the investment — they have so much love to give.

Bulldog Reflects on Reasons Why She's Still Single and It's Hilarious
Dating can be a challenge these days, regardless of age or species. Finding that special someone takes time and patience, even for our fur babies. Some canines search for that lifelong companion they can grow old with, but may not realize they may need to do some work on themselves first.
Pancake the Bulldog hasn't had luck making her match yet, and she's starting to ponder some things about herself that may be holding her back from coupledom.
@thebabypancakeYou don’t choose Pancake. Pancake chooses you. #valentines #valentine #englishbulldog #funnydog
♬ L O V E - Michael BubléThe TikTok from @thebabypancake explored the Bulldog beauty's little idiosyncrasies that may be the cause of her ongoing single status.
"She gets awkward on first dates," was listed as Reason #1, showing Pancake unsure of where to look when a male friend was over.
"She judges everyone who shows interest in her," ranked second, where Pancake's very disapproving expressions speak volumes of criticism.
"She gets the ick easily," which was obvious from the clip of Pancake sniffing a gentleman caller and immediately leaving the room with a look of disgust on her face.
Other potential reasons include how Pancake can be very clingy and needy. Then there are her unresolved trust issues, lack of emotional regulation, and poor anger management skills. The dog diva also has a sense of entitlement, where she "expects to be worshipped".
Pancake is more of a couch potato than a party girl, which can dissuade potential suitors. She also needs a lot of alone time, which may be considered a turnoff in the dating pool.
Followers Sided With PancakeViewers of the video related to Pancake's dating dilemmas and felt she was entitled to be set in her ways.
"Pancake just has high standards for herself, as she should," one remarked.
"Being a couple isn't for everybody, Pancake," another pointed out.

"Pancake is single and unbothered," someone noted.
It's hard to tell if Pancake will come to any conclusions after her soul searching, but she doesn't seem to be in any rush to change.

This 'Fantastic' Find Has Pet Parents Calling It an Absolute 'Game Changer' for Feeding Time
Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Every pet owner knows the distinct sound of a "hunger protest." It usually starts well before the sun comes up—a soft paw to the face, a persistent meow echoing through the hallway or perhaps a rhythmic scratching at the bedroom door. We love our furry companions dearly, but the role of being a personal sous chef at dawn can wear thin. Managing a pet’s weight and energy levels requires a level of consistency that our frantic, modern schedules don’t always allow. Between late nights at the office and early morning gym sessions, the bowl-filling routine often becomes a source of stress rather than a moment of connection.
Beyond the mere inconvenience of early feedings, there is the growing concern of pet health and portion control. Veterinarians increasingly warn against "free-feeding," a practice that often leads to sedentary lifestyles and weight gain in indoor animals. Transitioning to a structured schedule is the gold standard for longevity, yet manually measuring out kibble six times a day is nearly impossible for anyone with a life outside the kitchen. This is where the intersection of home automation and animal behavior becomes vital, providing a way to nurture our pets’ health without being tethered to their food bowls.

A red flashing light and a "low food" screen prompt take the guesswork out of maintenance, letting you know exactly when it’s time for a refill. Customers have already noted the impact on their daily lives, with one reviewer sharing, "Great product! No complaints. Aesthetically neutral, does what it’s supposed to do, and a red light lets you know when it’s time to add more food. This appliance has saved our household from hungry-cat antics."
Another happy owner highlighted how the feeder actually changes pet behavior for the better: "So far so good- it’s compact and sleek, and my cat is obsessed with it. She now gets several little snacks throughout the day in addition to her wet food breakfast and dinner. When she hears the food dispense, she comes running!!"

Senior Dachshund Celebrates 18th Birthday With the Sweetest Hops
One of life's greatest blessings is being there as your aging dog reaches important milestones, like living nearly two decades. I rescued a senior gent, so I know the complexities of feeling such joy and heartbreak watching them navigate the world a bit more slowly and quietly (but still just as precious).
It's a wonderful thing to be there with them until the very end, but even more so to celebrate every birthday that they're still here. Daisy, the senior Dachshund, is the perfect example, as she just turned 18 with such style and grace; she's the epitome of a happy, hopping little lady.

Dachshunds live between 12 and 16 years, with some (like our girl, Daisy) beating that with ease. The best part is that many of these pups remain active and healthy nearly the whole time, giving pet parents a real gift.
The longest-living Dachshund ever recorded, Rocky, made it to an impressive 25 years before passing in 2011, giving all of us hope that our beloved dogs can, too.
As for Little Miss Daisy, she has a lot more life left to live. I can tell she'll be happy-hopping her way into the hearts of many as long as she possibly can!

Cockatoo Proudly Introduces Himself As a 'Good Boy' and We're Here for the Confidence
Some animals steal the spotlight without even trying, and Cumulus the Cockatoo is clearly one of them. In a TikTok video that is impossible not to love, the charming bird introduces himself in the most confident way possible by declaring that he is a “good boy.” Honestly, what more is there to say? He knows exactly who he is, and he is not shy about sharing it.
The post’s caption reads, “How he chose to introduce himself to a client today 🥹Happy Thursday!” and it could not be more perfect. There is something so funny about a bird deciding that his first impression should be a glowing self-review. No hesitation, no overthinking, just pure confidence. Cumulus is clearly living his best life and making everyone around him laugh in the process.
@fixchixHow he chose to introduce himself to a client today 🥹Happy Thursday! #positivevibes
♬ original sound - Fixchix💙That is part of what makes this video so sweet. He is not just repeating words; he seems to understand the joy those words bring. With his bright personality and perfect timing, Cumulus comes across like the kind of little celebrity who knows exactly how to work a room. It makes total sense that he lives with a vet who works on birds, because you can tell he is in an environment where his personality gets to shine. And from the sound of it, he has plenty of funny videos to prove this is just who he is all the time.
Birds have such huge personalities, and Cockatoos in particular seem to have a gift for comedy. They can be expressive, social, noisy, dramatic, and unbelievably smart. Cumulus feels like all of that wrapped into one feathery little performer. He is not trying to impress anyone, which somehow makes him even more impressive.
I also have to say, my dog Lola would absolutely lose her mind if a bird started talking to her. She would be barking, spinning, and trying to figure out how this tiny feathered creature suddenly had better communication skills than most humans online. Cumulus would probably just keep calmly telling her he is a good boy while she completely unraveled.
Cumulus is funny, yes, but he is also a reminder that sometimes the best energy is just being fully yourself. No apology, no second-guessing, just walking or flying into the room and owning it.
Confidence Looks Good on Every CreatureIf you have a pet with a big personality, lean into it. Talk to them, engage with them, and give them safe ways to express themselves, because that spark is part of what makes animals so special. Cumulus is hilarious, but he is also a great reminder that enrichment, attention, and trust help pets become their fullest little selves.
According to the Association of Avian Veterinarians, birds thrive when they have proper social interaction, mental stimulation, and expert care from professionals who understand their unique needs. That kind of support helps birds stay healthy and confident, which feels written all over Cumulus.
And honestly, the world could use a little more of Cumulus energy, bold, joyful, and totally sure he is a very good boy.

Persian Cat Is Completely Unfazed by a Robot Vacuum Invading Her Space
Robot vacuums tend to cause chaos in pet households with dogs and cats because these machines seem to have a mind of their own. They’re loud, and it can feel like they’re on a mission to scare pets on purpose. But some cats simply refuse to acknowledge the disruption is even in the room, and when that happens, it makes for this hilarious chillness that not everyone can pull off. Persian cats, with their serene confidence, often fall firmly into that category.
We see that in this video of a Persian cat sitting unbothered as a robot vacuum circles nearby. She doesn’t flinch, move, or react in the slightest, as if she’s above such nonsense, and she absolutely is.
@cleothecitykittynot moving for anything 💅 #persiancat #fyp #longhairedcat
♬ Queen of Disaster - ella@cleothecitykitty shared a TikTok video of a gorgeous, fluffy white Persian cat named Cleo, who is very unbothered in a situation where other felines would probably have a very different reaction to the robot vacuum coming their way.
Cleo is sitting in her favorite place, right in the middle of the floor, and being the "unbothered queen" she is, there is no fear of the vacuum coming straight for her. She's not just not going to move, but she doesn't give any indication that she even cares that this loud, moving thing is in the room with her. The vacuum grazes her back, runs right behind her down the body, and she doesn't even turn her head to give it a look to make sure it's not going to run her over. Her level of "unbothered" is humorous.

Persian Cats Have Very Chill PersonalitiesCleo might be the sweetest little cat we've ever seen, and the fact that she can't seem to be bothered by anything makes her even more charming.
According to Hill's Pet, Persian cats like to chill out in the sun but can have big bursts of energy that can be very "kitten-like." And those bursts can happen out of nowhere, which makes living with them very interesting.
But even with that, Persian cats are very chill and love to stretch out in bed next to you, sit on your lap when they want to, and are pretty friendly with everyone they meet.
Cleo, completely uninterested and unbothered by the vacuum, proves just how little these cats can be bothered by things that don't bug them.
English Setter Puppy Looks Like an Oreo Milkshake on Legs
English Setter puppies look less like actual dogs and more like someone spilled cookies-and-cream ice cream, and it decided to become an adorable puppy. Long, floppy ears, speckled fur, wobbly legs, and that extremely important puppy mission of investigating literally everything, including invisible dust particles.
Gus, a brand-new English Setter puppy, has officially entered the world looking like a walking Oreo milkshake with paws. In the TikTok caption, his new family simply wrote, “Welcomed this sweet boy home,” which feels understated considering they just acquired what appears to be a luxury dessert disguised as a dog. Repeat after me: I do not need another pet. But I want hiiiiiiiiimmmmmmm!!!

♬ Puppy Love - Paul AnkaTikTok user @amyhartman22 shared the adorable introduction to Gus, and people immediately lost their minds over his cookies-and-cream coloring. One commenter called him “a walking Oreo milkshake,” while another said he was a “beautiful cookies-and-cream milkshake,” which confirms we are all collectively hungry and emotionally unstable around puppies.

Someone else wrote, “This cookies-and-cream cutie will definitely bring all of us to the yard,” which is both accurate and now stuck in my head forever. Meanwhile, Gus himself seems blissfully unaware that he looks like a snack and is just busy doing classic puppy things like waddling around and existing aggressively cutely.
Gus Is Trying So Hard To Make Friends @amyhartman22Gus is trying to make friends. It’s not working…yet. #englishsetter #englishsetterpuppy #puppy
♬ Wild One (Real Wild Child) - FatboyIn another clip, Gus attempts to introduce himself to the family cat with the confidence of someone who has never experienced consequences. He waddles over, tail wagging, clearly expecting instant friendship and perhaps a joint business venture.
Puppies meeting cats can go either very sweetly or very dramatically, depending on the cat’s personality, and most kitties prefer a slow introduction rather than a bouncing marshmallow barreling toward them. Gus, however, appears determined to win this cat over through sheer enthusiasm and possibly awkward sniffing.
Honestly, I respect his determination to make pals.

♬ Tchaikovsky "Dance of the Reed Flutes"(1257471) - kzyEnglish Setters are known for being gentle, affectionate, and extremely people-oriented dogs. Originally bred as bird dogs, they have plenty of energy outdoors, but these pups are famously sweet and chill inside the home. They are usually great family pets, known to get along well with other animals when properly introduced.
They also come with that gorgeous feathered coat, which looks stunning, but it does require regular brushing unless you want your dog to evolve into a walking tumbleweed. Worth it though. Extremely worth it.
Gus may look like a dessert now, but he’s going to grow into a loyal, goofy, very fluffy companion, the kind of dog people fall completely in love with and then fill their camera roll with a gazillion photos of.

Golden Retriever's Daily 'Grumbles of Judgment' Come With the Ultimate Side-Eye
Have you ever nonchalantly tried to capture your dog being cute? They almost always immediately catch you and cause you to regret every life choice that led to this moment.
That's exactly what's happening in this viral TikTok.
There's a Golden Retriever named Cooper who's decided that being captured on video is a personal affront to him. In no uncertain terms, he’s expressing this opinion through what can only be described as "Golden Grumbles" paired with the most judgmental side-eye you've ever seen.
The caption reads, "Here's your daily dose of Golden judgment. Sound up for Golden Grumbles,” and if we’re being completely honest, those sweet ASMR sounds are what make this entire video so addictive. Cooper is sitting there seemingly watching TV, minding his own business, when someone has the audacity to point a camera in his general direction. His response? Low, grumbly vocalizations that sound somewhere between a growl, a moan, and pure disapproval. Surprisingly, they are not always meant to be disapproving.
@tlexi524Here’s your daily dose of Golden judgement. Sound up for Golden Grumbles. #asmr #goldenretrieversoftiktok
♬ original sound - TlexiBut it's the side-eye that really sells it. Cooper refuses to ever make direct eye contact with the camera. Just giving those periodic judgmental glances that scream, "I see what you're doing, and I'm unimpressed."
The internet is absolutely loving this sassy Golden's energy.
"That is some strong side-eye," noted one commenter, stating the obvious truth.
"That's hilarious! He's so cute. Golden retrievers are the best," captured everyone's sentiment exactly.
"Our boy doesn't like being recorded either," shared another pet parent dealing with similar camera-shy shenanigans.
One person got really specific about what makes this so Golden: "The blinks...it's the blinks...oh, and that nossssssse...typical GR. We have one of those moaners at our house, too 😂. The most gentle and loving breed on the entire planet ❤️."
Related: Golden Retriever's Epic Sad Face in Attempt to Beg for Food Wins the Internet
Multiple people relate to the grumbling. "We growl back and forth at each other for like 10 mins a day 😂" wrote someone who's turned it into a whole conversation.
"My dog would do that too. It's because I stopped petting him 🤣," revealed the likely source of many Golden grumbles—insufficient attention.
"Judging hard," summed up Cooper’s entire vibe.
And this sweet observation: "My boy would do this to soothe himself when falling asleep. No sweeter sound."
Golden Retrievers Use Grumbles and Moans to Communicate Happiness and OpinionHere's what's actually happening when Golden Retrievers make these beloved ‘golden grumbles': they're communicating. Even more shocking, these sounds usually mean they're content, not upset.
Dogs sigh and moan for all kinds of reasons, but most often it's because they're feeling happy, safe and relaxed. Perhaps, they might be settling in for a cozy nap, enjoying a good belly rub, or, in this particular case, expressing mild annoyance that someone's interrupting their favorite show.
Around 50% of dog owners report their dogs growling during happy moments—playtime, petting, or just hanging out. These aren't aggressive growls. They're "happy voice" growls that communicate joy or mild frustration.

The key is watching body language. This Golden's got a relaxed posture, isn't showing teeth, and the grumbles are low-pitched and rhythmic. That's contentment mixed with a dash of "please stop pointing that thing at me."
Goldens are particularly vocal compared to some other breeds. They've got opinions aplenty, and they're not shy about sharing them with you through various sounds—moans, grumbles, sighs, and yes, even judgmental vocalizations directed at people with cameras.
Some Goldens use these sounds to self-soothe. Others do it to get attention or express frustration that you stopped petting them five seconds ago.
This Golden's making it very clear: the recording session is unnecessary, the side-eye is justified, and the grumbles will continue until morale improves.
Black Cat Adopted From Florida Sees Snow for First Time and Says: 'Never in My 9 Lives'
One kitty may be having second thoughts about his pet adoption.
In a hilarious TikTok clip, we see a very confused Black Cat trying to understand what’s going on outside his home as he adjusts to a new life… and a new season.
“Our cat, adopted from Florida, sees a snowstorm for the first time,” the little fella’s pet mamma says.
@yayamoroz#snowstorm #massachusetts #snow #florida #cat
♬ Funny - Gold-TigerThe look on this kitty’s face is priceless. His empty stare signals he is beyond confused, seeing all that white stuff outside!
“Never in my 9 lives,” the kitty’s mom imagines him thinking.
I’ve lived in the Northeast my entire life, so snow isn’t a big deal for me. That said, I can only imagine how weird it must be for people (and cats) who experience snow for the first time.
Fans could not get enough of this guy and had lots to share.
“He needs to see the adoption contract!” a viewer said. “He didn’t sign up for this!!!”
Aw c’mon! It looks like he’s in a nice, cozy house, and he is, after all, indoors. There’s no reason to get caught up in the fine print.

“The world is ending!” another fan imagines him thinking. “How are you not panicking!?”
“My cats are from Puerto Rico, and they are just as confused,” a third viewer chimed in.
Others who’ve transplanted to the colder parts of the country identified with this kitty’s reaction to the snow.

“I’ve lived in Massachusetts my whole life, and this is still my reaction," noted a viewer.
How Long Does It Take a Cat To Adjust to a New Climate?Cats typically need two to eight weeks to acclimate to a new climate. While they are resilient animals, they often need a little help adapting to extreme weather. To make them comfortable, pet parents can create a safe indoor environment, adjust their diet, manage outdoor exposure, and watch for signs of discomfort. This helps kitties adjust with minimal stress, giving them a positive experience in their new surroundings.
With that, I’m sure this beautiful boy will be enjoying the snow in no time—from the indoors, of course!
‘Pretty Princess’ Dachshund Puppy’s Tantrum Is the Gentlest Chaos
Puppies are nothing but little tantrum tornadoes, I swear. I've had three in my lifetime, and each is worse than the last: something I know for sure a lot of other pet parents can relate to.
One Dachshund puppy is the princess of tantrum time, but she's so demure that no one even notices. Her tantrums feel a little more like suggestions than anything else! She's a true lesson in manners:
@shybunnydachshundlittle bunny temper tantrum #dachshund #girldog #minidachshund
♬ original sound - shy bunny 🌸Bunny the Dachshund definitely is not looking super shy in this video, to be honest. She's looking like she knows what she wants and is going to go after it, no matter what. She's a little more reserved in public.
She's just so gorgeous. She has a closet full of outfits to match her immaculate vibes. She wears lots of:
- Pink.
- Fuzzy garments.
- Cute coats.
- Bows.
She's the talk of the town. I don't know where exactly she lives, but I hope she gets to experience the big city. She was meant to be a star!

In this video, Bunny is throwing the tantrum to end all tantrums... Gently. She's jumping on her mom, definitely getting her point across, but it's not super effective. How can anyone focus on the tantrum when she is so adorable?
When she doesn't get what she wants, she has one more trick to try: the puppy eyes. She has the biggest, brightest puppy eyes ever:
@shybunnydachshundLove of my life #minidachshund #girldog #dogmom
♬ som original - | astroxv |You can clearly tell that Miss Bunny is spoiled rotten every single day, and I love that for her. It's what she deserves!
Dachshunds Are Very DramaticBunny's little tantrums are pretty much standard operating procedures for a Dachshund. These dogs are iconic and may seem easy to handle, but that is simply not the case. Dachshunds need experienced homes because they're:
- Stubborn.
- Prone to aggressive behaviors.
- Difficult to train.
- Territorial.
With training and a devoted family, these dogs can be perfect companions. You just have to be okay with a couple of tantrums here and there!

For 7 Years, This Woman Has Invited a Seagull Inside Her Home for Breakfast
Most people try to keep seagulls away from their food. This woman sets out a plate of high-quality salmon and opens her front door.
In a viral TikTok posted by @winstongull, the creator shares that for the past seven years, she’s been serving breakfast to the same seagull almost every morning. And not by tossing scraps onto a balcony—she literally invites him inside.

Winston the Seagull Has a Daily Breakfast Appointment @winston_gullBro meant business today 😳
♬ original sound - Winston gullThe video shows her opening the door as she’s done countless times before. Waiting patiently outside is her pointy-beaked regular. The moment the door swings open, he confidently strolls in like he has a standing reservation.
His webbed feet make the cutest little sticking sounds against the hardwood floor as he waddles toward a plate of salmon placed on the ground.
Then, with no hesitation, he devours the salmon chunks in about five seconds flat. And on this particular morning, he immediately pivots and heads right back out the door. She captioned the clip, “bro meant business today 😳.”
Apparently, that’s not always the case. In other videos, he lingers after breakfast, casually exploring her home and hanging out for a bit before leaving. But not that day. That day was strictly about the salmon.
When asked in an Instagram video whether he’s a pet, she clarified: “He lives free and only shows up for breakfast 😌.”

The Internet Is Captivated by This Unlikely DuoIt’s not every day you see a woman and a wild seagull maintaining a seven-year-long breakfast date—and the internet can’t seem to get enough of it.
“He's somehow very polite and very rude,” one person wrote in the video's comment section. (Honestly, fair.)
“Was not expecting him to eat like that. Was also not expecting him to be a Seagull. Proud of him for not telling his friends,” another remarked, impressed that he hasn’t invited the entire flock.
And in reference to his speedy eating, one person joked, “Breakfast starts: 10:00. Breakfast ends: 10:01.”
Can Seagulls Form Bonds With People?Short answer: likely not in the way a dog or cat might, but they can form strong associations.
Seagulls are wild, highly intelligent birds. They’re incredibly observant and quick to recognize patterns, especially when food is involved.
So while Winston likely isn’t forming an emotional “bond” in the traditional pet sense, he absolutely understands the routine. Door opens. Salmon appears. Breakfast is served.
Over time, repeated positive experiences can make a bird more comfortable returning to the same person and place. That consistency—showing up for seven years—suggests familiarity and trust, even if it’s rooted in a reliable meal schedule.

Pit Bull Runs to Grandma's Lap When It's Time to Leave and It's the Sweetest
Grandparents love to dote on their grandkids. It's an unwritten rule that children are allowed to be spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa with special treats, extra playtime, and lots of snuggle time. The same applies to granddogs, who also enjoy being showered with attention.
Zara the Pit Bull seems to prefer her grandmother's house over her own, where she literally runs to Grandma for cover when she's supposed to go home.

The fur baby wouldn't budge from her grandmother's side as her mom tried to get her moving toward the door.
"Zara, we have to go home," her mom told her. "What are you doing?"
The precious pooch just stared in response, with a look that seemed to say, "You can go — I'm staying."
Zara's grandmother was conveniently on the phone during the interaction and decided to stay out of the debate, though she didn't seem to be in any rush to remove Zara from her lap.
Followers sided with the canine cutie and felt Zara deserved to stay put.

Golden Retriever's Epic Sad Face in Attempt to Beg for Food Wins the Internet
Ever make eye contact with your beloved Golden while you’re trying to eat dinner? Don’t. The sheer guilt of eating while your fur baby stares at you, feigning starvation, is the worst.
An adorable Golden Retriever named Gamja is going viral for the most relatable reason yet: the epic side eye she serves with humility and just the slightest bit of sadness when she’s hungry. Something I affectionately refer to as Resting Beef Face ( RBF); sad and serving sassy but respectful because food is on the line.
The most hilarious part is that there are no other indications that she wants food. She didn’t drop her bowl in front of her mom or clank it on the baby gate like some sort of prison protest. Gamja just subtly and discreetly motioned to Mom’s plate with her eyes. If Mom blinked, she would have missed it, and maybe that was the entire point Gamja was trying to make.
@gamjamypotatoWorks every single time and she knows it 😂 #funnydog
♬ Kiss me Sixpence None The Richer - whitelinesprettybabyyThere wasn’t even a cry or vocalisation of any kind. Just a barely-there hint that anyone could have missed if they weren’t literally staring at this adorable Golden while they ate. Although I’m sure this wasn’t Gamja’s first time doing this, considering the camera was ready to capture the previously mentioned shenanigans.
The caption reads,” Works every single time and she knows it!” Accompanied by an acknowledgement by mom, “My dog puts on her saddest act every time we eat.” The gigs up Gamja, she’s definitely on to you.
Related: Golden Retriever's Cute Snorts Make Her Sound Just Like a 'Little Piggy'
The internet cannot get enough of this sweet Retriever’s minimal-effort, maximum-effect facial expressions.
One Gamja fan said what all fur parents were thinking, “ That’s a lot better than begging!” It most certainly is.
Many rallied in support of the lovable pooch’s request, “I need to see food in her bowl now!” and, “I would make her very own plate every night, “ and the ever true, “I would literally give her my entire dinner.” Same.
One fan took a look at the lighter side, “For only two dollars a day, you can ensure this precious baby gets a bite of broccoli.”
The overall sentiment was that Gamja needs whatever’s on the plate STAT. She’s so patiently, dramatically and humbly waiting to be acknowledged.
Golden Retrievers Are Incredibly Food-Motivated and Emotionally IntelligentHere's why Gamja's particular strategy works so brilliantly: Golden Retrievers are naturally food-motivated dogs. This makes them easily and effectively trainable, but also complete masters at manipulation when any sort of food is involved.
Goldens are naturally very emotionally intelligent. They have an uncanny ability to read their humans’ moods incredibly well and know exactly how to behave to get exactly what they want. That desperately sad face Gamja's pulling? She knows how to work it. She's done the research, and she will win this game.

Golden Retrievers are sensitive dogs who excel at reading their humans. This particular trait makes them absolutely amazing therapy dogs, but it also means they've figured out which facial expressions will get you to bend to their will.
Because they are so naturally friendly and gentle, they'll never demand food aggressively. They might not be the traditional begging sort, but they've certainly perfected the art of the guilt trip. The subtle glance. The barely-there acknowledgment that food exists and they, tragically, are not currently eating any of it.
Gamja's mastered the game. And honestly? She deserves whatever's on that plate.
Dramatic Pug 'Crashes Out' on Hike Every Time Dad Tries to Take a Break
Some dogs hit the trail like they are casually enjoying nature. Buddy the Pug hits the trail like he is late for a meeting and deeply offended by anyone slowing him down.
In this TikTok from the adventures of Buddy and Bear, we get a compilation of Buddy absolutely crashing out every time the hike pauses for a break. The video caption says, “A compilation of my dog crashing out every time we stop on our hike because he wants to keep going,” and that is exactly what it is. The second Dad stops, Buddy starts sounding off like a tiny union rep filing an official complaint. He is not subtle. He is not patient. He has places to be, apparently, and scenic breaks are not on the agenda.
@buddy_n_bearThe little howl at the end 🥹 and they say pugs don’t like walking! 🙃
♬ original sound - Buddy & BearPugs are constantly underestimated, and Buddy is out here proving that a compact little body can still contain the spirit of an overcommitted outdoor athlete. Every pause seems to insult him personally. You can hear it in the dramatic little outbursts, like he is saying, “We did not come all this way for you to sit down.”
One of the comments gets it perfectly: “He wants to see the view already why you slowing him down 🤣, just kidding, Pugs need water and snacks to continue..” Exactly. Buddy has the soul of a mountain guide and the respiratory system of a pug, which means his ambition and his body are having two very different conversations.
View this post on InstagramThe post caption adds another perfect detail: “The little howl at the end 🥹 and they say pugs don’t like walking! 🙃.” That final little howl really does seal it. It is equal parts protest, heartbreak, and pure determination. Buddy may be small, but he is clearly all in on the adventure.
Honestly, I get it. My dog Lola is a smaller breed too, but she lives for being outside and telling everyone what to do. She is part Heeler, so her size does not limit her at all. Just like these little tanks, she believes enthusiasm can solve almost anything.
Buddy is such a good reminder that little dogs are never just little. They are opinionated, committed, and often convinced they are running the whole expedition. And when they decide the hike must continue, you are either moving forward or getting yelled at on a mountain.
Let the Little Hikers Pace ThemselvesFor a dog like Buddy and Bear, the best hiking routine is one that matches enthusiasm with common sense. Bring water, keep breaks short but regular, watch the temperature, and let your dog set a sustainable pace instead of turning the outing into a marathon. Small dogs and flat-faced dogs can be surprisingly game, but they still need extra support, especially when excitement is doing most of the decision-making.
According to the AKC, dogs cool themselves mainly by panting, which makes water, rest breaks, and careful attention to heat especially important on hikes. Their hiking safety guidance also recommends bringing fresh water instead of relying on streams or standing water on the trail.
I love dogs like Buddy because underneath all that drama is the sweetest kind of determination, the kind that says the world is exciting and we should really get back out there.
