‘Patchwork’ Dachshund Puppy’s Pretty Blue Eyes Are the Best Sight

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 11:00am

Puppies have the prettiest eyes, I swear. All of my dogs are so adorable, but my youngest dog's eyes when she was a puppy had my heart in an instant. They were just so big and precious!

She's got absolutely nothing on this Dachshund puppy, though: her patchwork coat and stunning blue eyes win. When her caretaker turned her around, my heart instantly became a puddle:

@delciewelch

Those blue eyes are just chefs kiss 😘. She is such a pretty girl. She was only held like this for a few seconds for the purpose of the video. #dachshundsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #fypシ #dachshundpuppy #dachshund

♬ So Easy (To Fall In Love) - Olivia Dean

Welch's Dachshunds are truly some of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen in my life. They all look different, of course, but their aura remains the same every time! They look so elegant, and I would not be surprised if they grow up to be little divas!

The one in this video has not made her way to her forever home yet, so she doesn't have a name. What she does have, though, are:

  • Cute floppy ears.
  • Beautiful little patchwork stripes all over her body.
  • The prettiest blue eyes in the world.

She'll definitely make someone's home much better one day, I can just tell. She's so gorgeous!

More About Merle Dachshund Puppies

This girl's patchwork coat didn't just happen on its own; she's a Merle Dachshund, though they typically call them "Dapple" Dachshunds. Whatever you call them, the end result is the same. They have:

  • Spotted coats.
  • White patches all over them.
  • Often, blue eyes, but not always.

The Merle gene causes pigment dilution, meaning that there's less pigment in certain areas than others, giving these dogs a speckled effect. That also impacts their eyes, which can have speckles in them as well!

Raising Dachshund Puppies

Just because a dog has pretty eyes doesn't mean they're necessarily the right fit for your home and lifestyle, unfortunately. Though this Dachshund puppy is so pretty that everyone wants to take her home, Dachshund puppies are:

  • Stubborn.
  • Difficult to train.
  • Prone to bad habits (biting, begging).
  • Loud.

Dachshund puppies require experienced caretakers; it's not the kind of breed you should probably start off with. This girl will end up with someone who knows how to take care of her, though resisting those big baby eyes will be tough!

Beloved Big Bear Bald Eagle Jackie Lays New Egg After Earlier Nest Loss

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 10:49am

There’s good news coming from a Big Bear Valley bald eagle nest. Jackie, the mother eagle, watched by fans on a popular live camera with her mate Shadow, has laid a new egg after the pair lost their first clutch earlier this season. Fans were devastated for the pair, but with Spring on the horizon, there's now renewed hope surrounding this beloved bird couple.

According to Friends of Big Bear Valley, which operates the live-streaming camera, Jackie laid the egg on Feb. 24 and is now resting while Shadow keeps watch nearby. Earlier this year, a raven took both eggs from the nest, leaving viewers worried the pair might not have another chance this season.

But as one loyal fan put it, "This is the positivity we need right now."

View this post on Instagram

It's possible, in fact, that more good news is on the way, according to FOBBV: "Jackie generally lays two to three eggs per clutch, and they have been laid three days apart. If she is going to lay a second egg, we will start watching for the above signs on Friday."

I, for one, will definitely be tuning back in for updates, and based on the comments, so will many other long-term supporters of Jackie and Shadow.

"It’s happening again… I’m going to be fully invested for the foreseeable future until this nugget hatches," said one such fan.

The Bald Eagle: A True Symbol of Strength

The bald eagle is North America’s largest bird of prey and one of its most recognizable wildlife symbols. Adults are easy to identify by their white head and tail, dark brown body, and bright yellow beak and feet. Despite the name, they aren’t actually bald — the word comes from an old term meaning “white-headed.”

They’re found across most of the United States and Canada, especially near large bodies of water like lakes, rivers, and coastlines. That’s because fish make up the majority of their diet, though they’ll also eat waterfowl, small mammals, and carrion when needed. Bald eagles are powerful hunters but also opportunistic — they’re known to steal prey from other birds rather than catch it themselves.

These birds build enormous nests, called aeries, in tall trees near water. Pairs typically mate for life and return to the same nest year after year, adding to it until it can weigh hundreds — sometimes even thousands — of pounds.

Once nearly wiped out in the lower 48 states due to pesticides and habitat loss, bald eagles have made a remarkable comeback thanks to conservation efforts and the banning of DDT. Today, they’re considered a major wildlife recovery success story.

Let's hope that Jackie and Shadow continue to experience success of their own.

Cats Go Snow Tubing in Central Park and Draw a Crowd Like Celebrities

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 10:10am

The Northeast is still recovering from a massive blizzard, adding to the frosty conditions this winter. Many saw the snowfall as the perfect opportunity to build snowmen, get in some skiing, and sled down some powdery white hills. Some fur babies also love the snow and get in some much-needed playtime.

These three fetching felines — Sponge Cake, Donut, and Buttercream — wanted try snow tubing after the major snowfall, so their dad headed to New York City's most iconic park for some fun.

In the TikTok from @spongecake_cats, three white kitties were completely decked out for their day in Central Park. Donned in red sweaters with matching berets, the fashionable felines sat together in a round snow tube being pulled by their dad.

"My cats' first time snow tubing in Central Park," the onscreen text explained.

The lovely ladies huddled together as their father whirled them through the snow. People gathered to watch the adorable scene, with many taking out their phones to record the special moment. Some spectators even followed the kitty trio as they sledded through the park, capturing the entire event in action.

The snow-loving cats seemed unbothered by the attention, almost like they were used to being in the spotlight. At one point, Donut was so relaxed she started dozing off.

Followers fell for the stylish fur babies and noted their commitment to kitty couture.

"They have far better fashion than anyone I know," one remarked.

"Such well-behaved babies, and SO cute to boot," another gushed.

"Their little outfits. Their names. The whimsy. I'm in love," a follower posted.

"Wow, having one cat, let alone three, who let you put hats on them? Goals!" someone pointed out.

"What fun, and such a darling trio," a fan shared.

These Cats Are World Travelers

Sponge Cake, Donut, and Buttercream are no strangers to city life. Their social media account revealed that they are seasoned travelers and have navigated numerous airports en route to major cities like Los Angeles and Paris. Naturally, these pretty kitties are always dressed for success.

They've definitely made their mark on Central Park!

Polka-Dot Poodle's Perfect Fur Pattern Looks Almost Unreal

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 9:55am

You know how sometimes a dog looks so perfectly patterned that your brain immediately suspects stickers or a fancy grooming dye job? That’s Geri, a rescue Poodle whose black-and-white coat looks less like fur and more like someone carefully painted polka dots on a plush toy and then brought it to life. It’s almost suspiciously neat, like she showed up on Earth already professionally styled. She's like a DalmatianPoodle!

In the clip, Geri is simply sitting in her favorite chair, gazing out the window with the quiet dignity of someone contemplating very important matters (probably squirrels or snacks). Her body is bright white, dotted with inky black spots, while her entire head is black, giving her the appearance of wearing a tiny velvet hat. My cat, Elvis, once sat in a sunbeam so perfectly framed that she looked Photoshopped into the living room, so I respect an animal who accidentally becomes art.

@geraldine_jones_geri

♬ braincells - tomcbumpz

TikTok user @geraldine_jones_geri shared the peaceful moment with the caption: “Sitting in her fave chair and looking out,” which is extremely understated, considering she looks like a designer throw pillow. Viewers were mesmerized, calling her beautiful and comparing her to their own spotted dogs. One person clarified that her coloring isn’t just random spots—it’s actually called piebald, which sounds like a bakery item, but is in fact a legitimate coat pattern.

There’s something about unusually patterned animals that just makes people stop scrolling. Maybe it’s the novelty, maybe it’s the symmetry, or maybe we’re all secretly magpies for black-and-white aesthetics. Meatball, my Maine Coon, has exactly one random white toe that looks like he dipped it in paint and then panicked halfway through. Very charming.

What Is Piebald? @raisingdane

Reply to @juliecr829 We just wanted a big dorky dog. We got one!! He may be mismarked but we love him #perfect #piebaldgreatdane

♬ Fancy Like - Walker Hayes

Piebald is a genetic coat pattern that produces large patches of white combined with areas of another color, commonly black or brown. It occurs when certain pigment cells fail to fully spread across the body during development, leaving distinct white sections.

This pattern appears in many species, including dogs, cats, horses, and even some wild animals. In dogs, piebald markings are especially common in breeds like Dalmatians, Beagles, and some Poodles, though the exact look can vary widely from scattered spots to bold, high-contrast patches.

Piebald animals are generally just as healthy as solid-colored ones, though in some breeds the gene can be associated with a higher risk of hearing issues when large areas of white are present around the ears. Otherwise, it’s simply a naturally occurring pattern—not dye, not editing, not magic (sadly).

In short, Geri isn’t unreal. She’s just a walking, tail-wagging masterpiece.

Newly Engaged Couple Has Magical Moment With Their 4 Dachshunds in the NYC Blizzard

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 9:20am

There is something very romantic about a blizzard, but add in a dog, and it becomes magical.

Add in four dogs, and it becomes irresistible.

That is exactly what happened in a new video from influencer Halley Kate, who just got engaged to her boyfriend of many years while they were on vacation in Europe.

Together, the couple parents four—yes, four—Dachshunds in New York City.

Their Dachshunds are named Oslo, Finnley, and Rusty (the blind Dachshund). Then, at the end of last year, she adopted Roxy.

Obviously, life is pretty chaotic with four Dachshunds running around a New York City apartment, but they make it work (it also helps that they have their own outdoor space).

But for the recent record-breaking blizzard in NYC this past weekend, the family decided to take it to the streets and frolic in the snow!

With all the dogs on leashes, they went for a little romp in the snow when it was really starting to stick, but not so much that it was taller than these little dogs.

It was the perfect amount of snow, and then with the jazzy "Snow in New York "playing in the background, it truly was a beautiful sight.

As one commenter said, "This looks like a rom-com," and they were quite right!

@halleykate

♬ Snow in New York - Bewings Records How Do Dachshunds Do in the Snow?

In case you hadn't heard, New York City got quite a lot of snow starting Sunday, February 22.

According to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, some areas of Manhattan recorded more than 2 feet of snow, breaking records set in 1972 and 1987 on February 23.

Related: Blind Dachshund Waits by the Door for His Brother To Come Back From the Vet and We're Crying

As for how Dachshunds fare in the snow, we have seen some videos of Dachshunds struggling with the colder temperatures and inclement weather, but for the most part, Dachshunds should be fine in the snow (just as long as they don't stay out too long and wear a proper coat and even boots).

Corgi Puppies Howling During ‘Milk Time’ Are Tiny Comedians at Heart

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 9:01am

Whoever said that not all dogs can howl was a filthy liar. I have three Boston Terriers, which allegedly aren't big into howling, and yet, they do it every day. All dogs can howl if there's something they feel passionate enough about!

What better to feel passionate about than food? For one bunch of Corgi puppies, "milk time" felt like the right time to discover their lungs. For being just a few days old, they definitely have some power in those little bodies:

@flying.k.corgis

No sound necessary🤭 Tootsies babies learned how to use their voices today! #corgipuppy #pembrokewelshcorgi #flyingkcorgis

♬ original sound - Flying K Corgis

Flying K Corgis specializes in Pembroke Welsh as well as American Corgis, though it looks like they mostly specialize in yappers. Their puppies are very opinionated, which they get from their mamas!

The mama in this case, Tootsie, is officially retiring after this litter. Once the babies start hooting and hollering over the milk supply, it's apparently time to go. Just a few more weeks and you're home-free, Tootsie!

Related: Corgi Puppy’s Bunny Hops of Chaos Have Brothers Ready for Spring Break

Tootsie isn't new to having puppies, so she had a gorgeous litter of puppies. Their human caretaker decided on G names for this litter:

  1. Gypsy
  2. Gemma
  3. Gwen
  4. Gabby
  5. Graham
  6. Gus

All of these puppies are howling already, and they're little "chonks," as their human calls them. They're eating well, and they'll make a forever home very happy... If a little noisier.

Corgis Are Loud Dogs

Corgis were bred for life on the farm: they're herders. They needed to be heard over the stampeding feet and the loud noises of the livestock! Though they're small and might not seem like it, Corgis have a very loud bark.

Two Corgis herd a sheep.

Image via Shutterstock / Pchela Vladimir

Corgis bark, howl, whine, and growl. Though there will be no way to eliminate their vocalizations completely, you can cut down on the barking by:

  • Beginning training when they're young.
  • Redirecting their attention when they start barking at something.
  • Limiting access to things that might upset them or cause barking.

Their wacky vocals are all part of the charm, though. It's what makes them so special, and these pups are shaping up to be the most special of all!

She Named Her Kitten Wolfie, Then Discovered She Actually Howls

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 8:55am

When people bring home a kitten, they usually try to pick a name that feels right. Sometimes it’s based on the tiny hints of personality they can already see, sometimes it’s simply cute—and sometimes, as one cat mom discovered, it turns out to be surprisingly prophetic.

That’s exactly what happened with an adorable cat named Wolfie.

Wolfie the Howling Cat @misfitmeowz

I’ve had her since she was tiny, tiny. I had no idea when I named her ,Wolfie, that she would grow up to do this. 😹 #howlingwolf #catoftheday #sundayfundayyyy #catsoftiktok #cattok

♬ original sound - Bunny

In a popular TikTok posted by @misfitmeowz, Wolfie’s mom shares a video of her howling like—you guessed it—a wolf. And this isn’t a one-time party trick. Apparently, Wolfie has been doing this for quite some time.

The clip begins with her mom calling out, “Wolfie-doooo,” stretching the nickname in a sing-song voice. Right on cue, Wolfie tilts her head back and lets out a long "awooooo" that sounds shockingly wolf-like.

The caption ties it all together: “I’ve had her since she was tiny, tiny. I had no idea when I named her ‘Wolfie’ that she would grow up to do this. 😹” What are the chances?!

People Are Amazed by Wolfie’s Howl

Naturally, everyone in the video's comment section thought her little howl was the cutest thing ever.

Others suggested she must be a reincarnated wolf. “That cat is 100% a wolf in a different life,” one viewer wrote.

“Excuse me I think that’s a werecat 😁,” another joked.

“Omg just like Wolfie in the Barbie movie 😂😭,” someone else added (a reference to Barbie in The Princess and the Pauper, which features a cat named Wolfie who howls).

Clearly, the internet agrees: this name could not be more fitting.

Wolfie's Story Before Viral Fame

In a follow-up TikTok, Wolfie’s mom shared a little about her backstory. She explained that a friend rescued Wolfie from a nearby mountain, where she was found severely dehydrated, malnourished and suffering from an upper respiratory infection.

Today, she may be small—“only six pounds full grown,” her mom said—but she makes up for it with personality. “She has the biggest attitude in the house,” she added, noting that Wolfie is incredibly loving, just very much on her own terms.

Are Howling Cats Common?

While most cats stick to meows, chirps and trills, some are known to produce loud, drawn-out vocalizations called yowls. Yowling is typically associated with distress, pain, mating behavior or, in senior cats, cognitive changes.

But a yowl is quite different from the wolf-like howl Wolfie delivers. Her sound is more rounded and melodic—closer to a canine-style “awoo” than a typical feline complaint—which makes it especially unique.

There have been other instances of cats mimicking dog-like howls, but it’s far from common.

Whatever inspired Wolfie's howls, one thing’s for sure: she has fully grown into her name.

Chocolate Labrador in a Field of ‘Chocolate Cows’ Is Living His Best Life

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 8:00am

Has your dog ever seen something that looks like them? There are typically two options there: they either fall in love or they find a new enemy that day's super fun to watch! My dogs all fall into the second category.

One Chocolate Lab apparently can't relate. When he stumbled across a field of brown cows recently, he was all over it! He couldn't believe his eyes, though now he might be wondering if his mom is feeding him enough:

Clari's Life is certainly better with Lolo in it, just like his is better with her. As it turns out, both of their lives are better with chocolate cows in them. That makes sense, honestly. My life would be better that way, too.

Lolo is an only dog, and he has been for his entire life. He does lots of things with his mom, who's his best friend in the whole world! Luckily, he's a very well-behaved, active boy, so he's a part of a lot of her day-to-day activities. His favorites are:

  1. Going for car rides.
  2. Walks around the neighborhood.
  3. Vacations to visit his family.
  4. Going to see the chocolate cows.

That last one is new, and if he had hated it, it would be a one-time thing. However, pretty much immediately, he was totally smitten!

Cows Can Be Friendly With Dogs

Many farms have a dog or two on them, especially if there's a lot of land to cover. As a result, a lot of cows are born and raised around them, which means that they're not initially scared if a new pup comes up!

Beyond that, cows are super social. They thrive in herds and can usually be found grooming each other, playing together, and sleeping in close groups at night for protection. Just like they fold each other into their lives, they can bond with dogs.

If you're bringing your dog around cows and they're not regularly there, it's best to keep a fence between them. Additionally, keep your pup on a leash; you never know when you'll need it. Luckily, Lolo's mom has it all covered!

Orange Shelter Cat Rescued From Euthanasia List 'Falling in Love' With His New Home Is Everything

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 7:10am

Dogs and cats that are rescued from shelters seem to know they were given a second chance at happiness. These fur babies have a sense of gratitude that brings joy to everyone around them. Many of these animals are saved from impending euthanasia and literally get a new lease on life.

This orange cat is a beautiful example of that thankful spirit now that he finally has a permanent home.

@kailatz

I’m gonna rewatch this when he wakes me up at 4am

♬ Little Life - Robert Gromotka

In the TikTok from @kailatz, the pretty kitty was snuggled in bed with his mom. He was clearly getting cozy as he made those iconic biscuits that cats are known for when they feel safe and happy. The video revealed that this feline fur baby was rescued in the nick of time.

"Watch my former shelter cat on the euthanasia list fall in love with his new home," the onscreen text read.

The orange cat looked like he knew he was finally safe and in a family for life. His expression of gratitude and joy was crystal clear as he nestled into the fluffy comforter alongside his mother. Followers gushed over the sweet kitten's loving spirit.

"I’m falling in love with him!" one raved.

"Thank you for saving him," another praised.

"Awww — He's home," a follower posted.

"So cute, sweet baby!" someone remarked.

How Cats Show Gratitude

Cats still have a reputation for being overly independent and aloof, though they can actually be quite social and affectionate. They also have ways of expressing gratitude to their parents, such as:

Related: Orange Cat’s Outrage Over Mom Letting in a Stray Is Cracking Us Up

  • Purring — This vocal sign of contentment is a cat's way of communicating with humans and other animals. It expresses a feeling of safety and joy, as well as their own verbal "thank you" for your love and care.
  • Bringing you gifts — Many cats inherited this behavior from their ancestors, who would bring prey back to their families to provide and share. When your feline brings you a toy or some food, they're telling you that you're a part of their family.
  • Slow blinking — When a cat looks at you and blinks slowly, it's their version of a kiss. This behavior is their way of showing trust and affection.

Other signs of gratitude and trust include kneading, head butting, following you, and exposing their belly for a rub.

This orange cat obviously knows he's home and safe, right where he belongs.

Golden Retriever Refuses to Eat His Kibble Unless His Human 'Prepares' It Like a Chef

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 6:55am

Most dogs will inhale their food in 30 seconds flat, the moment their bowl hits the ground. But not Clifford the golden retriever. He requires a full culinary production before he'll take a single bite.

In a popular TikTok posted by @adudewithadogg, Clifford has made it abundantly clear: dinner will not be served unless it's properly prepared. And by "properly," he means chopped, sautéed, microwaved and taste-tested, like a five-star entrée.

Clifford Has High Standards @adudewithadogg

My puppy won’t eat unless I do ALL of this in this EXACT order.. 😂 #puppynoteating #goldenretriever #funnyvideo

♬ original sound - adudewithadogg

The video begins with dog dad scooping a couple of cups of kibble into a dog food bowl. On-screen text reads, "My dog refuses unless I do all of this."

He places the bowl under Clifford's nose. Clifford tilts his head away in that unmistakable canine gesture that says, "Absolutely not."

So the performance begins. First, Dad pours a small handful of kibble onto a cutting board and pretends to chop it with great seriousness. Clifford stands below the counter, watching closely and sniffing the air like a seasoned food critic overseeing a kitchen.

Next, the kibble hits a frying pan (with no heat). Dad gives it a few dramatic chef-style flips and shakes, and once again, Cllifford hovers underneath, clearly invested in the process.

Then comes a quick (fake) trip to the microwave. After that comes a generous sprinkling of imaginary "seasoning."

Related: Golden Retriever's Quirky Sleeping Spot Will Crack You Up

And in what might be the boldest move of all, Dad gives the kibble a sniff and crunches down on a piece himself to "taste test" it. (We're hoping he swapped it out for something slightly more human-friendly, but the commitment is impressive either way.)

Throughout the video, he hums and makes exaggerated "mmm" and "hmm mmm" sounds, fully leaning into the role of gourmet chef.

Finally, he carries the bowl to Clifford's eating spot. Clifford trails closely behind, clearly ready for his freshly "prepared" meal. The dish is set down, and, just like that, he eats immediately.

People Are Highly Amused

Naturally, the video's comment section had plenty to say.

"Imagine having to explain this to a dog sitter 😂," one person wrote. (Picturing a detailed, step-by-step instruction sheet for this routine is so funny.)

"Not him at the counter making sure you're cutting it right 🤩," another joked.

"Golden Ramsey," someone else quipped (an elite nickname, honestly).

And then the question we're all wondering: "So how did this even start lol."

That's the real mystery. Was it a one-time joke that accidentally became a ritual? Or did Clifford start losing interest in his food, and this turned out to be the solution? Either way, Clifford has standards now, and apparently, they're Michelin-level.

Maine Coon Kittens Moving Their Little Heads in Perfect Unison Are Too Adorable

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 6:51am

It’s a great day to be a Maine Coon cat. Though judging by some seriously cute Maine Coon kittens showcasing their synchronized head movements in a just-dropped social media video, it’s always a great day to be a Maine Coon cat, and even better to be their human.

If you’re new to the Maine Coon fan club (trust us, it’s a cool club to be a part of), this cat breed is known for its high intelligence, social nature and trainability. Often considered dog-like in nature, Maine Coon cats aren’t aloof felines whose moods can be chameleon-like at best. Maine Coons are curious and smart cats who respond to positive reinforcement and rewards like treats.

@mermazingmainecoons

Now to the video. This clip crossed our feed and had us pressing repeat over and over. In the TikTok video, a squad of six Maine Coon kittens can be seen doing a synchronized head dance that had us questioning reality. These kittens are so locked in, the video seems like it must have been created with AI. Were the starring cats another breed, we’d be searching for the “made with AI” hashtag ourselves. Maine Coons, however, are so smart and curious that they can learn tricks — even a synchronized head dance that has this cat squad giving us major Backstreet Boys or Spice Girls vibes.

Another commenter got the same boy band feeling from the video, commenting, “The cat version of BTS.”

“They are so cute,” wrote another. “They’re beautiful,” gushed another.

“Hello sweet kitty cats,” commented one more.

Part of the uniqueness of Maine Coon cats is that they retain many kitten-like qualities well into adulthood, making them easy to train even as adults. While independent by nature, these cats are also social butterflies who can learn to respond to their own name, high five, shake hands and more.

Maine Coons can also get stressed out by overtraining, so if you notice yours hiding from you or refusing to eat, they might be trying to let you know the latest synchronized routine you’re hoping they learn isn’t as interesting as, say, running around the backyard and exploring.

We said Maine Coon cats were highly trainable. That doesn't mean they always want to be. Regardless, you’ll have fun trying.

As for durability, feedback seems to vary. Some reviewers say it's better suited to light to moderate chewers than to dedicated shredders. Others, however, report that it's holding up surprisingly well, even with larger dogs and more aggressive play styles.

Why Dogs Love Plush Toys

Plush toys often tap into a dog's natural instincts. The soft texture mimics prey, while squeakers and crinkle sounds stimulate curiosity and play drive. At the same time, the cuddly design offers comfort, especially for dogs who like to carry their toys around or use them as makeshift pillows.

In other words, this adorable sloth is equal parts playtime and nap companion. And at just $10, it's a low-risk way to see if your pup wants to join the sloth-loving club.

Judging by the reviews, they almost certainly do.

English Bulldog Was Perfectly Behaved at Her Dog Wash—So What Cost Them the A+?

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 5:40am

There's this TikTok going around and we can't get enough of it. An English Bulldog decides to try the self-service dog wash at Pet Supplies Plus. First time ever. And she's just... cooperating? Like, actually standing there calmly while getting bathed.

Her review of the experience? A-.

Why not an A+? "Needs more treats 🤭"

The video captures her initial confusion—"What dis?"—and notes she came prepared with her own soap. She's labeled a "reluctant participant," which feels accurate. But she does it anyway. She pushes through and stands there. She gets cleaned and doesn't cause chaos.

@bulldog.gg

Trying out the dog wash at @petsuppliesplus, A- needs more treats 🤭 #bulldog #doglife #englishbulldog #puppy #bathtime

Then she leaves feedback. Not enough treats were provided during this 'ordeal'. Points deducted.

Valid complaint, honestly.

This bulldog knows what she wants. Bath? Sure, fine. Service quality? Good enough. Snack situation? Completely inadequate. Hence: A-.

English Bulldogs Need Regular Grooming and Apparently Adequate Treat Compensation

Quick reality check about bulldogs and baths—they need them way more than you'd guess for dogs with such short fur.

Those wrinkles everyone loves? Yeah, those are trouble zones. They collect everything—sweat, dirt, and random gunk. Skip cleaning them regularly and you're basically creating the perfect environment for bacterial infections. Washing bulldogs isn't just about making them smell nice. It's actual healthcare.

Their skin gets irritated super easily too. You can't grab whatever shampoo's on sale and call it good. Bulldogs need the gentle stuff—hypoallergenic formulas that won't make their skin freak out. Look for things with aloe or oatmeal or chamomile. Basically anything soothing instead of loaded with chemicals.

Related: Bulldog Puppy Spots Mom With Camera and Her Bunny-Hopping Protest Is Adorably Dramatic

Baths also cut down on the shedding situation. And there is a shedding situation. Bulldogs lose hair constantly, but especially when seasons change. If you brush them twice a week with something soft—rubber glove works great—you'll find way less fur on your couch.

After bath time, dry every single wrinkle. Like, completely dry. Water hiding in those folds will absolutely cause problems. Some people put special dog-safe moisturizer on their bulldog's skin when it's cold out to stop it from getting dry and irritated.

Oh, and their ears. Bulldogs get ear infections constantly because of how their ears are shaped. Cleaning them regularly with proper ear cleaner stops stuff from building up in there.

Nails grow ridiculously fast too. You're looking at trimming every three or four weeks unless you want your bulldog uncomfortable walking around, especially on tile or hardwood.

Places like this self-serve dog wash actually make life easier. They've already got everything set up—the right products, enough room for a chunky bulldog who might have opinions about the whole thing.

This particular location just had one oversight. Insufficient treats.

This dog showed up. Cooperated fully. Handled the entire bath with zero drama. And STILL took time to leave constructive criticism.

A-. So close to perfect.

Lesson learned? Bring more treats next time.

The customer has made her position very clear.

Walmart's Best-Selling $156 Large Cat Tree Is Now $86 — 7 Levels of Fun

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 4:29am

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

When I was a kid, I had that brief phase where I really wanted a treehouse. The problem, as was often the case for a 90’s kid, was that I naturally envisioned that I could have an awesome-looking treehouse that you’d see in cartoons with couches and snacks and a TV.

Although I doubt cats can vocally express that desire the way a 5-year-old child can, I also have a gut feeling that they also want a wonderful place to hang out lazily.

Unfortunately, I never got my treehouse, and eventually forgot about it. Cats, though, won’t need to worry about having their dreams squashed, not when you can swoop in with this 65.7 “cat tree and tower condo at Walmart.

It's now on sale for $86 -- a 45% discount from its original $156 retail price, plus free shipping. This flash deal won't be around for long, though, so make like a cat and jump on it.

Reviews: What Buyers Say About This Popular Cat Tree

Shoppers are huge fans of this oversized cat tree, which boasts seven levels of fun for your furry friends. It has a 4.5-star rating (out of 5.0) based on more than 600 reviews on Walmart’s website.

Check out what a few past buyers have said about it:

  • “My cat loves it! She has slept in every compartment she can to see which one she likes the most."
  • “I have looked for years for a cat tower for my big cats. This is the best one I have ever bought.”

Courtesy of Walmart

What Stands Out

To their credit, Amolife asks the questions that it knows customers will have, such as how to identify the best cat trees that don’t lean easily and can hold multiple cats. No one can say that they haven’t thought ahead.

But, we wouldn’t fault you for wanting to know more before buying the cat tower. Here’s what you need to know:

  • 6 Color Choices: Dark blue, gray, beige, leopard print, pink, and white and black spotted (prices vary up to $99). I’m no interior decorator, but I feel like the beige would go best in my apartment.
  • Resting Places: Safety is paramount, so you’ll be glad to know that the cat tower has a condo, hammock, and a basket for your fur babies to comfortably rest.
  • So Much Room for Activities: Because the cat tree has multiple levels, you shouldn’t need to worry about cats competing for space. There’s more than enough room to go around!
  • Multiple Scratching Boards: The cat tower also has an anti-tipping strap, five sisal scratching posts, an upgraded wide base board, and two scratching boards.

The Bottom Line: Your cats are going to love you if you bring home this luxurious-looking cat condo. Between the space, the various activities, and how comfortable they’ll be, good luck finding any cat — even the most stubborn ones — that don’t immediately treat this tree like the greatest thing ever.

'Pupset' Boxer Issues Formal Complaint to HR When Denied a Cinnamon Roll

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:55pm

In my house, it's understood that what the pets say goes. I don't make the rules, I just follow them. That usually means giving them whatever they want, whenever they want it, since I'm just the mere peasant who works, pays the bills, and spends way too much money on treats and chews!

"Princess" Poppy, the Boxer, would fit right in here because this sassy girl never keeps her opinions or demands to herself. Her latest *need* is whatever's left of the cinnamon roll, and if she doesn't get it, she's calling in the big guns (aka Grandma)!

@princess.poppyyy

Has anyone ever successfully had a grandma stick to the diet mom requested.. asking for myself 🤣🤣🤣 #dogtok #dogmom #fyp #foryou #boxerdog

♬ original sound - Princess Poppy

There's no such thing as sticking to a diet when Grandma, Nana, Grammy, Gigi, or Mimi is around. Let poor, hungry, withering-away Poppy starve—not a chance! In true Boxer form, this feisty pup has Grandma wrapped around her little paw, and she couldn't be prouder.

Related: Boxer's Excitement Over Grandma's Visit Ends in Cutest 'Family Bedtime'

Are All Boxers Big Barkers?

As one of the internet's most popular pups, Princess Poppy knows how to get her way, and sometimes that means giving Mom a talking-to. She's been known to bark on occasion—especially when she wants something and Mom's not handing it over—but is otherwise a friendly, affectionate (albeit opinionated) girl like others of her breed.

As Virginia LaMon, DVM, explains via PetMD, Boxers aren't usually as vocal as Poppy—but they can be due to their high energy level, prey drive, and intelligence. These things can lead to frustration if they're not getting adequate mental and physical stimulation to feel their best.

Poppy Issues Another Complaint

It should be noted that Poppy lives a bougie life of luxury, where everyone's lives revolve around her intricate bedtime routine, so not all Boxers can relate! Those who can may also understand it's not only cinnamon roll requests this funny pup gets "pupset" over, but also a snowstorm.

@princess.poppyyy

Valid crashout 🤣⛄️ #dogtok #boxerdog #fyp #foryou #dogmom

♬ original sound - Princess Poppy

I have no doubt that even when Poppy has everything she could ever ask for, she'll still find something to complain about or demand, and that's OK. That's the joy of having pets—they're more than companions, they're family... at least... that's what my five told me to say!

Cat's Funny Meow Makes It Sound Like She's 'Been Smoking Her Whole Life'

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:20pm

Cat lovers know that kitties can have very distinct voices.

I have two cats, and I can always tell which one is "talking" even when I'm not in the room with them. My male cat's meow is higher-pitched, and he really only makes a sound when he'd like me to open a door so he can steal his sister's food. My female cat, on the other hand, chats all day long—mainly to ask for treats or to get me to pay attention to her and her toy squirrel.

One family has been caught off guard by their mom's cat's meow, which can only be described as "crispy." In a funny TikTok clip, we hear this senior kitty emit a few vocalizations that make it sound like she's been a lifelong smoker. Take a listen!

@aliciahawkins645

Sounds like she’s been smoking her whole 14 years of life 😅 #lol #catsoftiktok #animals #animallover #fyp

"Oh, she has a cwrispy meow," one person said.

"She sounds like a bug💕," another person noted.

Yes, but what kind? Any guesses?

Related: Gorgeous Ragdoll Cat Pouts Like a Kid When Mom Leaves for Work

Despite her voice, fans think this kitty looks great for her age.

"She looks so good for 14 years old!" someone commented.

"My cat has a smoker meow, too! She’s 19 years old 😭," another fan wrote.

So, this makes us wonder: Will this happen to every aging kitty?

Does a Cat's Meow Change With Age?

It turns out that cats' voices do change over time. Why? Weakness in the muscles around the larynx can cause that "crispy" sound. If your senior kitty has become more vocal, that can be a sign of dementia. Also, as a cat's hearing ability decreases, they can no longer hear their meow, and that can change the sound as well.

If you notice a change in your kitty's voice that's accompanied by other symptoms, such as loss of appetite or difficulty breathing, these are signs that you should visit your vet.

Fortunately, in this case, it looks like this cat is healthy and content.

Cattle Dog Shepherd Mix’s Long Snoot Makes Him Look Like a Ghost Anteater

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:55pm

At first glance, this Cattle Dog-German Shepherd mix doesn’t quite register as a normal pup. Sweet Bluey has an extremely long, white snoot, a round little body, and unusual coloring that makes him look like some kind of ghost anteater or panda bear hybrid. He’s simply walking in to get groomed, yet somehow still looks like a rare animal you’d spot in the wild and immediately question your eyesight.

Bluey’s unique appearance is likely due to vitiligo, a condition that causes loss of pigment in the skin and fur. In dogs, vitiligo can create striking patches of white that make them look like a totally one-of-a-kind pup without affecting their health at all. In Bluey’s case, it just makes him unforgettable… and slightly confusing in the best way.

@poodlespetspa

We absolutely love Sweet Bluey the Cattle Dog/German shepherd mix🩵 He said yes to the spa upgrades today!🐾🤍 Hot spot shampoo and spray 15 minute Ayurvedic matcha mask Finished with a soothing colloidal oatmeal bath Calmer skin softer coat and one very good boy #cattledog #cattledogmix #doghotspot #dogspa #doggrooming

♬ All I Want is You - Barry Louis Polisar

The clip shared by @poodlespetspa shows Bluey calmly going through his grooming appointment (and his sad hot spot treatment, poor baby!) while the internet tries to figure out what species he belongs to. Some viewers said he looks like a Honey Badger, while others saw a Panda Bear, and several admitted they thought he was an anteater at first. One person summed it up perfectly: “What an absolute creature.”

Related: After a DIY Haircut, Dog's Tiny Head Looks Like a Beanie Baby on His Body

Once you get past the initial WHAT AM I LOOKING AT phase, though, he is deeply cute. His little walk has big “tiny bear” energy, and the groomer’s hands moving through that fluffy coat just highlight how substantial this boy is. Someone commented that he “came in like a Honey Badger,” which is possibly the most accurate entrance description ever written. And yes, when people started talking about how large he is, I immediately thought of my own Maine Coon, who once made a roof repair guy ask what kind of dog we had. I love a unit. A certified big lad. A household boulder with feelings.

Viewers kept trying to identify him using every animal except “dog.” Panda Bear. Hyena. Honey Badger. Person in a dog costume. Honestly, if he suddenly stood up and started doing my dishes, I would not be shocked. The long snoot is doing a lot of work here.

How Common Is Vitiligo in Dogs? Weimaraner dog with vitiligo.

Image Via: De Jongh Photography/Shutterstock

Bluey’s unique coloring strongly suggests vitiligo, a condition that causes loss of pigment in the skin and fur. In dogs, it most often shows up as patches of white or lighter hair, especially around the face, nose, or mouth. It isn't painful, it's not contagious, and it doesn't usually affect a dog’s quality of life at all. It just makes them look like a limited-edition version of themselves.

Vitiligo is considered relatively uncommon, but it is seen more often in certain breeds, including German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans, and some mixed breeds. The condition can appear gradually, sometimes changing a dog’s look over months or years. Importantly, it is cosmetic only. Your pup is not bothered by it. Humans, however, may be bothered by how cute it makes them.

So yes, Bluey may look like a ghost anteater Panda Bear hybrid who wandered out of a fever dream, but he is simply a very special dog with a very memorable face. And frankly, the internet could use more stunning creatures like him.

Golden Retriever's Gentle Patience With Curious Baby Will Melt Your Heart

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:48pm

Dogs and babies have a unique skill. They can both love unconditionally. And when they love someone, they truly show it. There might not be a greater bond than the one between babies and dogs. A baby growing up with a dog is adorable at every step of the journey.

In this video by @ThisisBailey, we see a young baby working on her fine motor skills, trying to touch the sweet golden retriever and turning her head to establish eye contact. At all times, our beloved furry companion is patient and calm. She lets the baby pet her, doesn't make any sudden movements that might scare her, and remains a support next to her.

🐾 SIGN UP to get "pawsitivity" delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

This scene is amazing because of the dog's restraint. Remember, large dogs like a golden retriever can weigh between 55 and 75 pounds. One quick turn of the head or a playful paw could knock the baby off balance. Instead, this dog controls his body to perfection.

How Did the Internet React?

We do love babies and dogs, that's for sure. These two are adorable together, and it is clear that their bond is beyond perfection.

Fans loved how the golden retriever was calm and patient with the baby. Users commented things like "Mia! The best sister ever! Patient, calm, a sweet protective angel! And beautiful Sofia, friendy and adorable," "Mia endures the indignity of having her whiskers pulled and her eye poked just to be close to Sofia. She's such a wonderful dog!" and "Adorable baby Sofia really connects with sweet Mia with tender gazes and valiant effort to pet her loyal companion."

Sometimes, you cannot tell whether the comments or the video itself is sweeter. And that is the case here, with Mia and Sofia showing us what real love looks like.

Best Family Dog Breeds

Families with small children and babies look for dogs that are patient, trainable, and predictable. Golden retrievers check all the boxes and consistently rank among the most popular family dog breeds in the United States.

Because of their history working as retrievers, they work closely with people and respond to cues. That cooperative background helps form a strong bond and trainability.

Other dogs that are perfect for families with babies are Labrador retrievers, Cavalier King Charles spaniels, standard poodles, bulldogs and beagles.

How to Introduce a Baby to a Dog Safely

Families who are expecting a baby should start preparing even before the baby arrives. Teach dogs basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, leave it and place. Dogs need to learn to settle on a mat or bed on a cue to create a safe default position when activity increases.

During the first introduction, keep the dog on a leash and let them observe from a distance. Reward calm behavior with treats and keep the initial interactions short. Always be within arm's reach of both the dog and the baby. In the video, the Golden retriever's stillness stands out. He does not treat the baby as a toy or a distraction. He waits. That pause, simple as it looks, is what makes the interaction safe.

Tiny 'Toasted' Ragdoll Kitten Uses Cutest Sideways Attack Strategy

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:20pm

When my Ragdoll cat, Milo, was a fluffy little cloud of a baby, everything he did was the cutest thing ever. It didn't matter if he was trying to figure out the automatic water fountain (which he used to play in) or demanding to be held most hours of the day (typical for this breed), because it was all adorable. Maybe his older cat sister, Feathers, would disagree, but even his failed attack plots against her made me swoon!

Toast, another Ragdoll kitten, reminds me so much of my Milo, especially as he prances on the bed, preparing for the ultimate play attack on his unsuspecting siblings!

@pearlsragdolls

Toast takes a while to prepare for his attack

♬ original sound - Pearl’s Ragdolls

Kittens happily hopping away will forever be a huge win in my book, and tiny Toast nailed it. It does take a while to plan this kind of surprise move, so it's good the bitty boy gave himself a moment to think. Sure, the other fluffy kittens were already having fun on the floor without him, but you can't just hop in without a solid plan!

Related: Tiny Ragdoll Kittens Trying To 'Bust Out of Jail' Are So Full of Sass

Toast has always been an active boy who loves lots of attention. He can just as easily thwart kitty playtime with his adorable vengeance as he can cuddle up with mom while she works. Thus is the life with a Ragdoll—you truly get it all with these cuties!

@pearlsragdolls

Toast may be small but he's already so good at climbing

♬ original sound - Pearl’s Ragdolls Do Ragdoll Kittens Play a Lot?

Like both Toast and my Milo, Ragdoll kittens are tiny balls of energy when they're young. It's pretty much an "all kittens" thing to be curious, mischievous, and playful during their first 12 to 18 months of life. Though docile and calm as they grow older, Ragdolls have tons of energy to burn and can happily play fetch, pounce, romp, and plot strategic moves like they think they would in the wild!

One of the best parts of having a "razzle-dazzle" kitty like Toast is that no matter how old he gets, it's in his breed's nature to keep that youthful, kitten-like attitude. My Milo has grown to be 15 pounds of fluffy perfection, and to this day, still believes he's just a baby—and I'm totally OK with that!
