Walmart Is Selling a $170 Automatic Pet Food Dispenser for $45: 'So Easy to Use'

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 6:09am

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

My dog and I have a morning routine, one that works for both of us. At least, it works well for the dog, and not so well for my left arm and hand, which hold her leash.

Once I’m up and out of bed, Winnie and I go for a long walk. Winnie gets excited when she sees other dogs, and she pulls my arm. There’s a reason why the “doggy paddle” is a swimming technique, because that’s exactly what Winnie does.

Anyway, when Winnie and I are back inside, she gets treats and breakfast. I reach down into the pantry for her food, fill her bowl, and then I go for my long walk. An hour and change later, I’m back inside, Winnie is playing with her toys, and the day begins.

Part of that routine will be changing, though, because Walmart is offering the popular BEBANG automatic pet food feeder at a major discount. Right now, it’s on sale for 73% off — and, no, that’s not a misprint. Oh yeah, and shipping is completely free.

I plan on taking full advantage of this deal, and I suggest that you join me, whether you’re dealing with cats, dogs, or both.

Reviews: What Buyers Say About This Automatic Pet Feeder

Saying that shoppers approve of this automatic pet food feeder is an understatement, as 168-of-178 reviewers (94%) have left a five-star rating on Walmart’s website.

Much of the praise centers around how easy it is to operate, which is excellent news for both the human and the pet.

Check out what a few past buyers have written online:

  • “Works great, so easy to use on the app."
  • “As a pet parent who frequently travels, I worry about my cat’s diet every time I leave home. This food cat dispenser allows me to leave home safely for several days, and my cat can still eat on time.”
  • “The little dog liked it very much, and in the future, he finally doesn’t have to wake up early to feed him. He can rest for a while longer.”

I’m a softie, and my heart warmed reading those reviews. Happy pets also make me happy.

What to Know About This Pet Food Dispenser

The BEBANG automatic pet food feeder is designed to make life simpler for pets and their loved ones. It boasts everything from a reinforced sealed lid to a timer to ensure that your animals are fed on time. Here’s what else to know:

  • How It Works: The automatic pet food finder contains over 5 liters of storage, allowing you to fill it with up to six meals and, depending on your pet’s size, as many as 20 portions. You can customize when the refill happens, which is excellent news for those away from home for the entire day.
  • Easy Cleaning: The device has an anti-clogging mechanism and detachable equipment, including a stainless steel bowl.
  • Power Supply: When you’re setting the automatic pet food feeder up, you won’t need to do too much power-wise. The device uses a 5V 2Apower adapter, as well as a wall adapter or 3 C-cell batteries.

The Bottom Line: As I write this, Winnie is staring at me, wanting attention. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when we add the automatic pet food feeder to her routine. It has everything that a pet parent and their furry loved one could ask for. Now, we need her to ease up on trying to rip my left arm from its socket. One goal at a time, I guess.

Golden Retriever Insists on Carrying the Groceries Inside, and It's the Sweetest Thing

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:55am

For most dogs, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway means one thing: their favorite human is finally home. For Mazy the golden retriever, though, it means something extra—it's time to clock in for her very important shift as the family's grocery assistant.

In a heart-melting TikTok posted by @crazymazygirl, dog dad is seen unloading groceries from the trunk while Mazy waits nearby, laser-focused on the task at hand. She's already prepared for duty, proudly holding a reusable grocery bag in her mouth.

Mazy Favorite Chore Is Bringing in the Groceries @crazymazygirl

She does an excited little hop, eagerly waiting for Dad to place an item inside. The second he drops an item into the bag, it's game on. Mazy carefully grips the handles and turns toward the house with determined purpose, exuding what can only be described as a full-body smile.

She trots across the yard and straight through the doorway, delivering the goods to her mom, who can be heard behind the camera, encouraging her: "Bring it in the house." And moments later: "Awww, thank you."

And if pride had a face, it would look exactly like Mazy's. She carries herself with that unmistakable golden retriever confidence—the "Did you see that? I helped!" energy radiating from every step.

People Are in Love With Mazy

Naturally, people in the video's comments section were enamored with sweet Mazy's dedication to her job.

"She is so proud of herself ❤️," one viewer wrote.

"Why is this pup more helpful than a human child? 😅," another joked.

"The pride on her face!!! She is precious!! 💞," someone else added.

"Do you hire her out? Nobody will help me bring groceries. 😂😂😂" (But really, do you?)

Goldens Are Known for Being Eager to Please

Golden retrievers are famously eager to please, which is one of the reasons they're consistently ranked among the most popular family dogs. Originally bred to work closely alongside hunters, they were developed to be attentive, responsive and cooperative with their humans.

That history still shows today. Goldens love being included in whatever their humans are doing. And for many of them, having a "job"—even a small one—creates a sense of purpose and connection. It's also what makes them so highly trainable and often more than willing to lend a paw with everyday tasks, whether that's fetching the mail or, in Mazy's case, proudly carrying in the groceries.

This Samoyed Loves Fresh Snow, But How He Gets Down the Mountain Will Blow Your Mind

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:50am

It's no secret that Samoyeds love the snow. Whether it be frolicking through the freshly fallen powder or burrowing deep into a drift, it's clear that the cool fluff suits them.

Unsurprisingly, if given the chance, they will spend as much time as possible in the snow running, playing or even skiing. However, one pup, Lumi, has a pretty clever way of tagging along with his mom as she heads down the mountain.

Samoyed Catches a Free Ride Through the Fresh Snow View this post on Instagram

Lumi is a pretty special pup who is lucky enough to go on adventures with his mom. In one recent video on his account, @littlelumibear, his mom shows exactly how they get down the mountain together while skiing, and Lumi does not go on his paws.

Instead, he gets zipped up into a doggie backpack. Once he is situated, she slips the pack onto her back, and the pair is ready to cruise down the mountainside, slicing through the fresh powder. Lumi even gets his own pair of googles, keeping his eyes protected from wind and debris.

While he may be 50 pounds, he looks so much smaller in his pack. Though my favorite part is how he puts his paws on her shoulders as they descend the mountainside. He looks so comfortable. Plus, he clearly enjoys the experience and is practically grinning from ear to ear.

Even though he is riding in a backpack, all four of his paws have snow shoes on, keeping them warm and safe from the elements. It also makes it easier when they transition to him walking around. Then, they don't have to worry about getting them on while he wants to run about in the snow.

Is it Safe to Wear Your Dog?

Safety was a big topic of discussion in the comments, despite Lumi clearly having a great time. Many fans were worried about what would happen if his mom fell. She did say in the comments that she has yet to fall with him and that she keeps to the easier trails to avoid it. It also helps that she has skied her whole life and was a former competitive skier.

I dare say that gives her a leg up on the rest of us who aren't nearly as talented in the arena. Of course, skiing with your pup in a backpack takes trust, training and time. But it is definitely possible. Just be aware that if you fall on them, they can get injured. Smaller pups may need a dog sweater like this one or a thicker winter jacket to stay comfortable, especially if it is very cold or windy.

Orange Cat Coyly Plays the Mom Guilt String To Get Early Workday Snuggles

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 10:50pm

Orange cats have a long-standing reputation for getting up to some crazy hijinks. Of course, much of it gets dismissed with a shrug of the shoulders, a "well, they are orange cats," and a hearty laugh.

As funny as their shenanigans are, orange cats have also mastered the art of cutely getting us to do their bidding, and we willingly do. The perfect example is Ginger and her adorable way of talking mom into mid-workday snuggles with some perfectly timed mews.

Orange Cat Demands Attention @collywally

The daily battle between productivity and cuddles. I lose every time 😌 #cutecat #ginger #kitten #catcuddles

♬ original sound - Colleen, Sparky & Ginger

The video shared on Ginger's mom, Colleen's, TikTok account @collywally, opens with Ginger sitting on the bed while Colleen works at her computer. Sweet Ginger clearly wants mom's attention, trying to pull her attention away from work, something many of our pets do as we try to get through the workday.

While my pup tries to get my attention with a few well-aimed sighs, Ginger sends a few mews her mom's way, hoping her cute little cries will move the needle when it comes to mid-workday loves.

Demands for love always come at the most inopportune times. In Colleen's case, she had just sat down and started working, leading her to tell Ginger that it's just not possible at the moment.

Ginger's little mews were too cute to ignore, though. Coleen did what all of us would do in the situation: she made a compromise. She would give her exactly what she wants for a couple of minutes, and then she could hang out and help mom work. Of course, Ginger isn't exactly on board with the compromise. But I am pretty sure their deal details were forgotten the second her mom snuggled up with her.

How Common Are Female Orange Cats?

If you're wondering how Ginger is a female orange cat, you aren't alone. Most of the time, orange cats are male. Researchers at Stanford discovered that the gene that creates their gorgeous pumpkin hue is attached to their gender.

Specifically, the mutation is on the X chromosome. While female cats have two of those, they need both X chromosomes to carry the mutation to be entirely orange, which is why 80 percent of orange cats are male.

The double mutation only occurs in 20 percent of females. So not only is Ginger one sweet kitty, but she is also pretty darn unique, and her adoring fans on TikTok agree. One writes, "It's the cutest thing."

While another comments, "A sad song about never getting snuggles hahahaha." Many other cat parents echoed the sentiment, adding that their cats behave the same way, giving them guff within seconds of being put down. Of course, it all has to be done on their own terms. But such is the life of a cat parent.

Kohl's $23 Hygiene Find Makes Oral Care Easier Than Ever

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 9:36pm

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

For all of the unconditional love our dogs give us daily, the least we can do is give them the best life possible in return. And while it’s easy to stay on top of the fun stuff like good food, fresh water, plenty of toys and loads of playtime, hygiene is just as important, if not more so, especially when it comes to oral care.

That’s where Kohl’s comes in clutch with a grooming must-have pet parents are loving: The Licker Store’s Dog Dental Finger Hypoallergenic Wipes. Made with aloe vera leaf extracts and available in a refreshing mint flavor, this 60-count container can currently be snagged for just $22.99. Designed to fight plaque and help reduce the risk of infection, this simple teeth-cleaning upgrade makes oral care easier than ever.

Dog Dental Finger Hypoallergenic Wipes, $22.99 at Kohl's Dog Dental Finger Hypoallergenic Wipes

Kohl's

When it comes to oral care, not every good boy or girl reacts the same way to a regular brush or deep teeth cleaning. Dental sticks and specialty chew toys are definitely helpful in the fight against plaque and infection, but a consistent brush or thorough wipe-down is still an essential part of a healthy oral care routine.

With these convenient mint-flavored finger wipes, you can skip the uncomfortable toothbrush now and then and swap in a soft, gentle wipe infused with natural extracts of aloe vera leaf, coconut oil and honey. This soothing combo helps remove plaque and odor-causing buildup while also calming sensitive gums. Even better, it’s super easy to use, turning your finger into a toothbrush your furry friend definitely won’t mind having in their mouth.

Why Finger Wipes Are a Game-Changer for Oral Care Dog Dental Finger Hypoallergenic Wipes, in use

Kohl's

More than just a way to freshen breath and support consistent oral care, these wipes make an otherwise tricky process for some breeds completely stress-free. The soft design slides right over your finger, giving you gentle but firm control to reach all the nooks and crannies of your dog’s teeth, all while giving your pup a break from more abrasive deep cleans.

While dental wipes can’t fully replace a toothbrush—especially in the tiny grooves where gums meet teeth—they do an excellent job removing surface buildup and biofilm, while also helping fight plaque and tartar. That makes them a reliable option for pups that simply won’t tolerate brushing. Pair them with daily dental-stick rewards and a semi-annual deep clean, and you’ve got a solid foundation for a healthy oral care routine.

Snag this 60-count container for $23 and give your furry friend’s oral care routine the noticeable upgrade it deserves. Prefer to skip the mint? There’s also an unscented version available, priced at $31, so you can choose the option that works best for your pup.

As a reward for sitting through another teeth cleaning, why not grab Chewy’s adorable plush puzzle toy or Target's Happy Meal-themed play set? Either one makes for a fun, interactive way to keep playtime stimulating and extra rewarding for your pup.

Tiny, Chirping Dust Bunnies Pop up Like Popcorn and We Cannot Cope

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 8:20pm

Tiny baby animals already feel illegal levels of cute, but 3-day-old Flemish Giant Rabbits apparently decided that simply existing wasn’t enough. No. They had to also pop straight up like caffeinated popcorn kernels and make tiny squeaky noises that sound like someone stepping on very polite dog toys.

Please, I am begging you, turn up your volume for this video. Not in a quiet office unless you want coworkers appearing at your cubicle asking why it sounds like haunted marshmallows are chirping. The sound that these babies make is so unexpectedly precious, it almost short-circuits your brain. I had no idea that this is what baby bunnies sound like.

@skiff_mini_farm shared the adorable TikTok clip of these 3-day-old baby bunnies at Skiff Mini Farm, and viewers immediately lost all emotional stability. The nest looks like a pile of dryer lint that suddenly achieved consciousness, and then one pops up… then another… then all of them start doing it like a tiny snack attack. It's basically the cutest thing ever.

One commenter perfectly described it as “squeaky popcorn,” while another called the entire situation “a kerfuffle,” which feels scientifically accurate. Someone else wrote, “Baby pop rocks,” which is also correct, and now I will never recover.

Several people admitted they had no idea baby bunnies made noises like this at all. Honestly same. I assumed they would be silent like tiny woodland ghosts, not chirping like wind-up toys powered by pure innocence and fluff.

And yes, for anyone wondering, those adorable dust-puff babies will one day grow into rabbits the size of small ottomans.

I

Flemish Giant Rabbits are one of the largest rabbit breeds in the world. Adults typically weigh between 14 and 20 pounds, but some can exceed that and stretch over 2 feet long. They are basically the gentle giants of the bunny universe.

Despite their enormous size, they are known for calm, friendly personalities and are often described as dog-like companions. Many rabbit parents say they follow people around the house, enjoy attention, and can even learn routines.

So yes, those squeaky popcorn babies will eventually become full-size floof tanks.

What You Need To Keep a Giant Flemish Rabbit as a Pet Flemish Giant Rabbit in a cage outside.

Image Via: mariesacha/Shutterstock

Because of their size, Flemish Giants need far more space than typical rabbits. A large exercise pen or free-roam area is ideal, along with sturdy flooring, plenty of hay, fresh greens, and heavy ceramic bowls that cannot be flipped by a determined bun.

They also benefit from enrichment, like chew toys, tunnels, and safe places to stretch out their very long legs. These are not “small cage in the corner” pets—they are full-room, full-personality animals.

But judging by how cute they are even at 3 days old, it's very easy to see how people end up completely obsessed.

Golden Retriever Puppy Uses Wiggles and Stares To Get Attention and It's Too Cute

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 7:55pm

Puppies learn quickly what works and what doesn’t when they hope to get a little more attention from the people around them. Dogs, and especially puppies, because they're so cute, seem naturally good at this and have been gifted with the skill of emotional persuasion. Big eyes, wiggly bodies, and perfectly timed pauses can melt resistance instantly, and pups from a very early age catch on to this.

This video shows a tiny English Cream Golden Retriever using every ounce of herself to ask for attention, which is ridiculously cute. The combination of gentle wiggles and unblinking eye contact makes it impossible not to give in. It’s basically impossible not to stop, notice, and give her the compliments she's looking for. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and it works every time. Take a look at this sweet baby!

@puppy.sprout.girl

Goooood morning! Follow and watch me grow up 🥰 #puppy #englishcreamgoldenretriever #dogsoftiktok #goldenretriever #fyp

On February 18, TikToker @puppy.sprout.girl shared a video of a stunningly adorable English Cream Golden Retriever puppy who is only a few months old. She's still tiny with paws that look too big for her body and little puppy eyes that seem far larger than they're supposed to be for the size of her head. These proportions mean she's an expert at giving "puppy dog eyes" to get anything she wants.

But she doesn't use that charm for anything sinister. She is really just hoping she can get some extra attention and cuddles. And we're all here for that.

In the comments, people were more than happy to shower sweet Sprout with compliments while she waited for some of those words.

One person wrote, "I can't handle the cuteness."

Another shared, "So stinkin' cute."

Someone else added, "Sprout! The cutest name ever!"

Other comments included, "Hello cutie," "Adorable," "Hi Sprout, I'm Leo, your new friend," "So cute, Sprout," "Hey handsome," "So cute," and "Good morning."

How Long Is a Golden Retriever Considered a Puppy?

Sprout is the cutest little puppy, and you can see just how much love she has for her family. It's clear she adds so much happiness to her family, too. Puppies are easy to love, and while they don't technically stay puppies forever, Golden Retrievers take a little extra time to get to the adult stage of life.

According to the American Kennel Club, Golden Retrievers typically reach adulthood around 18 months old, but these pups take longer to lose their playful puppy personalities. The site explains that they have a "joyous and playful approach to life," which means they maintain their "puppyish behavior into adulthood."

It's definitely not a bad thing because these dogs are so sweet-natured; puppyhood just means that sweet Sprout and other dogs like her will be as happy to see you as they were when they were younger.

Golden Retriever's Cute Snorts Make Her Sound Just Like a 'Little Piggy'

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 7:51pm

Here's a real question: have Golden Retrievers been secretly sneaking off to farms when we're not looking? Because the pig noises are getting out of control.

A TikTok's been making the rounds. It's a sweet video of Leia, a Golden Retriever, just chilling next to her person. She's got that sweet and naive Golden Retriever face going—big eyes, totally innocent. Then, she starts snorting. I'm not talking a delicate little sneeze. Leia was giving full barnyard animal energy.

The relatable caption, "Anyone else's golden retriever sound like a little piggy?" Judging by the comments everyone's dealing with this phenomenon.

People immediately started debating what to call it. One person went with "It's a golden purrr," which is kind of fancy for a pig noise.

@leia.the.golden

Her snorts are so funny #fyp #goldenretrieversoftiktok #trending #dogsoftiktok #goldenretrieverpuppy

♬ original sound - Leia & Daisy the Goldens

A bunch of Golden parents started confirming. "Mine does this when he's getting food or excited ❤️" wrote someone who's obviously witnessed plenty of snorting.

"My oldest one isn't very vocal but our youngest golden has the snorts!!! It's so sweet."

The best comment though: "Mine does this in his sleep!" They're literally snorting in their dreams. Peak dedication to the bit.

Why Do Golden Retrievers and Other Dogs Snort Like Pigs?

Alright, so why is this happening? Good news—there are actual explanations and most of them are harmless.

First off, it can just be how they talk. Snorting's quick. Efficient. Why put in the effort of a whole bark when one pig sound does the job? They'll snort as a greeting, to get you to look at them, or just because they're happy. Leia might literally just be snorting because she feels like it.

Related: Lindsey Vonn Reuniting With Beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel After Surgery Will Have You in Tears

Their sense of smell is also ridiculously powerful—we're talking 50 times stronger than ours. All that intense sniffing they do? Sometimes it comes out as snorting. Especially when they hit a particularly interesting scent that gets them going.

There's also something called reverse sneezing. It sounds scary but it's usually fine. What happens is something irritates their throat, they start sucking air in really fast, and that results in this weird honking-snorting sound. It happens more often when they're excited.

Some breeds snort constantly just because of the way they're physically built. Dogs like bulldogs and Pugs with flat faces? They always snort. That's just how their airways work. But Goldens have normal-shaped faces, so they're actively making the choice to sound like little piggies.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

Allergies and infections can cause snorting too. Same goes for having something stuck up their nose. If your usually-quiet dog suddenly turns into a pig and also seems sick—lethargic, running a fever, or can't breathe right—get them checked out immediately.

If you've got a Golden happily snorting away like Leia with no other issues? That's entirely personality. Some Goldens never shut up. Some grumble under their breath. And some go the pig route.

They're all ridiculous. Nobody's complaining.

Gentle Special-Needs Cat Looks Like an Old-Timey Raccoon

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 7:20pm

Some animals just look like they wandered out of a different time period entirely, and Deetz, the cat, definitely falls into that category. With her round face, plush gray fur, and sweet little expression, she resembles a tiny, old-timey raccoon who might politely accept a biscuit and then sit with you on a porch swing. There is something so gentle about her whole vibe that you immediately want to speak in a softer voice. I would basically do anything to see her wear a bonnet.

Deetz is also a special-needs cat living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue condition that can affect mobility and joint stability. Cats with this condition often move more carefully and may look a little different from typical felines, but they can still live happy, comfortable lives with proper care. In Deetz’s case, it seems to have only given her a calm, tender presence.

One commenter called her a “chunky little raccoon,” while another simply wrote “sweetest little baby,” which honestly sums it up perfectly.

There is something deeply comforting about watching a gentle animal just… be. No chaos, no zoomies, no destruction. Just a small, cozy creature radiating peaceful energy like a living weighted blanket with whiskers. Deetz is an absolute angel.

What Is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? @deetz_the_unique

a short story on deetz #petsoftiktok #kitty #cutecat #unique #foryoupage #fyp #foryou #ehlersdanlos #cat #cutecats #kitty #cats #deetz #pets #catsoftiktok

PetMD explains: "Feline cutaneous asthenia (FCA), also known as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, is a disease characterized by deficient levels of collagen, the protein molecule necessary for providing strength and elasticity to the skin and ligaments, along with much of the rest of the body. The condition is part of a group of hereditary disorders characterized by skin that is unusually stretchy and droopy.”

The primary cause of this medical condition is genetically based.

Cats with this disease are more prone to skin tears and wounds, so they must be handled carefully and protected from cuts. Special-needs cats often require a bit of extra patience and accommodations, but they give back an enormous amount of love. Many form incredibly strong bonds with their humans and thrive in calm, predictable environments where they feel safe.

Deetz is a beautiful reminder that different does not mean broken; it just means unique. And sometimes, the quietest, softest little souls end up making the biggest impression.

Golden Retriever Gets Vocal Over a College Basketball Game Just Like His Dad

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 6:10pm

Whether it's football, baseball, basketball, or some other competitive sport, we all get invested in watching our favorite player or team striving for victory. It doesn't matter if you're at the game or seeing it on television — sports fans get very passionate in these athletic battles.

Winston the Golden Retriever obviously keeps track of a certain college basketball team and was cheering them on with his dad in a recent matchup.

In the TikTok from @wackowinston, the gorgeous Golden sat next to his dad as they watched the Michigan/Duke college basketball game on the big screen TV. Winston seemed to be looking at his dad more than the game, gauging his father's reactions. The precious pooch howled during the game in either cheers or protests, following his dad's lead.

"POV: Your dad has been yelling at the TV... so you decide to chime in too," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Like father, like son."

Winston's dad saw the canine cutie getting emotional over the competition and snuggled with him to commiserate. They seemed to be supporting each other through the tough spots of the game. The fur baby's mom could be heard in the background, thoroughly enjoying the male bonding between Winston and his dad.

Followers got a kick out of the father-son moment and commended the canine for his basketball prowess.

"I think Winston knows ball," one remarked.

"He’s invested in the game," another pointed out.

"I need Winston to be on FaceTime against the Celtics tonight," a follower joked.

"He says, 'mum I’m a boy doing boy things'," someone posted.

Golden Retrievers Prefer to Participate

This popular breed is known for its playful disposition and high energy level. Golden Retrievers are more inclined to engage in a sport than be a spectator.

These active canines gravitate toward activities like playing fetch, swimming, hiking, and socializing at the dog park. Goldens also love a good snuggle and going for drives.

Like Winston, a Golden Retriever can have fun watching a good game, but more for the company than the competition.

Mini Aussie Rescue Dog Becomes an Unexpected Hero for Traumatized Kids

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 5:48pm

We often say that dogs help children through tough times. Dogs have a way of connecting with people, no matter the age, that feels comforting, and a children’s center in Georgia is proving that theory in real life.

At a Murphy-Harpst Children’s Center in Georgia, many of the teens have lived through severe neglect, abuse or abandonment. The residential program serves young people who are aging out of foster care, and it uses animals to help reach kids in a way that sometimes therapy cannot.

The news channel 11Alive reports that one of the biggest stars at the center is the rescue mini Australian shepherd, Robin. Young people in the program are able to sit there, enjoy their privacy and talk to the dogs about whatever they want to talk about.

Robin, who was adopted from a shelter, is now part of the counseling sessions. The center's pet therapy program also includes cats, horses and even a snake.

For Legend, a 19-year old teenager who lost his mom, Robin helps him cherish a memory. He said, “Robin helped me with a lot of things in my life like the passing of my mom. My mom used to love dogs. Robin is more than comfort. Robin is, you know, a little part of my mom that I carry with me.

In both cases, the two teenagers have formed an amazing bond with Robin, and they are feeling more comfortable and calm because of her.

How Therapy Dogs Support Children

Research helps explain why programs like this can work. Studies have found that interacting with a calm dog can help children in many ways.

For starters, interaction with a therapy dog can reduce anxiety and fear. Dogs are an effective tool for calming children and helping them cope with stress.

Therapy dogs also help decrease cortisol levels, improve attendance and increase motivation in educational settings.

For mental health and rehabilitation, therapy dogs help by reducing emotional outbursts by aiding in empathy development and physical, social and emotional functioning. At Murphy-Harpst, Robin’s role is simple. She shows up. She sits beside a child during hard conversations. She lets them talk. For teens who have learned to expect disappointment from adults, that steady presence can open the door to something new.

Australian Shepherd Mistakes Yorkie Sibling for a Cat and We Can't Stop Laughing

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 3:55pm

If my dogs could talk, I'm sure they'd have a thing or two to say about their daily treat allotment or why getting bangs won't fix my problems. They already say so much with their expressive, judgmental eyes, so I can only imagine the silly arguments they'd pick. This is why I enjoy watching pups who use those talking buttons to communicate, so I can see what dogs are thinking.

Flambo, the Australian Shepherd, has a slew of buttons he uses to communicate with Mom on a regular basis, and as I thought, it's a real riot. Recently, the funny pup shared his confusion over the Yorkie, Rupert, whom Flambo thought was a cat!

View this post on Instagram

The Houston, Texas yapper, Flambo, is a pro at tapping those buttons to say what he's thinking. Mom was amused that a very confused Flambo thought Rupert was a cat just before telling her "quiet," but this hilarious boy is also an award-winning show dog. I guess you could say he gets a blue ribbon in yapping and spilling tea!

Known for being so "vocal," make no mistake—this Australian Shepherd knows exactly what he's saying. He has about 45 buttons and is learning more each day, sometimes surprising Mom with his intelligence.

Related: 'Cerified Yapper' Australian Shepherd Sounds Like a Disappointed Killer Whale

How Do Dogs Learn To Use Buttons?

There's no shortage of advice on how to get started teaching your dog to use buttons the way Flambo does. It's like their own secret language. To get started, experts advise:

  • Choosing 1 to 2 high-value words like "treat" or "potty
  • Record one word on each button
  • Every time you do the action, press the button and say the word so they learn the association
  • Keep the buttons in relevant, consistent spots
  • Reward them each time they touch the button
  • Be patient and consistent

It won't happen overnight, but your pup could be arguing with you that the small dog is actually a cat before you know it!

Practice Makes Perfect

Flambo's had a lot of practice with his buttons, and his devoted mom works with him every day. Dogs are naturally inquisitive and extremely smart as it is, so giving them the tools to communicate this way is pretty cool.

View this post on Instagram

If Flambo can "talk" with buttons, what's next—he'll be teaching my son's class? Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised at this point!

Lonely Siberian Husky Waiting in the Snow Gets the Sweetest Surprise

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 3:48pm

The past several days have brought a record snowfall in the United States. Some cities have reported snow over 15 inches, with some reaching snow levels up to 25 inches. And while the snow has caused power outages and made everyday life difficult, some dogs are loving it. For example, Siberian huskies were bred to pull sleds, and they can sit in the snow all day.

In a viral video posted by @LeviTheHuskyRescue, we see a Siberian husky standing alone in a yard covered in fresh snow. He looks toward the street as if he is waiting for someone specific. For several seconds, nothing happens. Then a neighborhood child runs into the yard, bundled in a winter coat. And that is where the fun begins.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/o44_gHnuOMo

Within moments, the two become best friends. They play in the snow, with the kid burying the husky in it. And of course, as a winter dog, he loves it. Throughout, the husky remains calm and relaxed, following his friend with his eyes and loving it.

How Did the Internet React?

Fans instantly noticed how calm and relaxed Levi is. They said things like "Levi is not satisfied until he's 3 feet under the snow this is awesome," "Levi looks so happy to be covered in snow," and "I can't decide who is gentler with who in this clip. Levi with the kid or the kid with Levi. No wonder he's so relaxed. The kid is chill."

And they all agree that children need dogs by their side, and dogs need children to be happy. One comment put it best, "Every dog deserves to be loved by a kid, and every kid deserves to be loved by a dog. It's unconditional with no strings attached."

Why Do Huskies Love the Snow?

Scenes like this make sense when you look at the breed's history. Siberian huskies were developed by the Chukchi people in northeastern Asia, where winter temperatures regularly drop well below freezing. They were bred to pull sleds over long distances across snow and ice. Endurance and cold tolerance were essential.

A husky's double coat helps explain why they are comfortable in winter. The dense undercoat traps body heat. The longer outer coat repels snow and moisture. Huskies also have a high tolerance for cold compared to many other breeds. According to the American Kennel Club, they were built to work in harsh Arctic conditions.

Doodle Goes Head-to-Head With Sphynx Cat in Epic Battle of 'Shirts vs. Skins'

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 3:30pm

If you've ever been a parent to a cat and a dog at the same time the way I have, you already know that sometimes, it can be a bit of a love/hate relationship. One minute, they're all snuggled up together like they'd never be able to fall asleep at night without each other, and the next, they're in an all out brawl.

The Doodle and Sphynx cat siblings in the TikTok video below are absolutely no different. And if I didn't know any better, I'd think this cat had been professionally trained in boxing.

@friedveggiedumpling

On Tuesday, February 24, @friedveggiedumpling on TikTok shared this video of her pets squaring up for a fight, and I really mean it when I say "squaring up," because this cat can somehow turn her paw into a fist.

Even though she looks very serious, the Doodle is undaunted, and ultimately, they don't even end up having it out (at least, not in this video). They might talk big, but they don't walk the walk!

A little play fighting never hurt anybody, though.

Do Sphynx Cats and Dogs Typically Get Along?

Seeing these two on the edge of a smackdown is pretty surprising, because despite their sometimes intimidating appearance, Sphynx cats usually are pretty personable pets.

As PetMD points out, the breed is known for being especially social cats with big personalities, and they tend to get along easily with humans and other animals alike (dogs included).

Of course, each cat will have their own personality and quirks, so there are surely some out there who butt heads with the dogs of the household, but hopefully, those kinds of problems can resolve with time.

And for what it's worth, these two usually do get along, according to the other videos that their mom has shared on TikTok. When nap time comes around, they seem to become a pair of inseparable cuddle buddies.

As long as they really do love each other underneath their tough exteriors when fighting, that's really all that matters in the end!

Bark Tug-O-Worm Tugquila Dog Toy, $10.99 at Target Bark Tug-O-Worm Tugquila Dog Toy

Target

Designed to look like a turquoise tequila bottle labeled “Tugquila,” the plush toy isn’t just cute—it’s built for action. It features a super-stretch bungee “worm” that’s perfect for tug-of-war, along with a squeaker, crinkle texture and plenty of fluff.

Pet Parents Say Their Dogs Love It

One dog parent wrote in a review on the product's Target page, "This is my German Shepherd’s (1 year) favorite toy to play with. My Lab (11 years) has never played with a toy before; however, he will try to fight my German Shepherd for this toy."

Even pet parents of rough-playing pups are impressed. One reviewer wrote, “My 80 lb pit mix is a toy freak! Loves them so much, but generally destroys them in 10 min (and that’s ok, because that’s what he loves!). But this one is still together and it’s perfect to play tug of war with!”

Another shopper added that they’ve run the toy through the washer and dryer multiple times without any issues—always a bonus when you’re trying to get rid of the inevitable slobber and dirt that comes with a well-loved dog toy.

Why Play Time Is Important for Dogs

Regular play is essential for a dog's overall well-being. It helps dogs burn off physical energy, which can reduce unwanted behaviors like chewing, digging or excessive barking. But just as important is the mental stimulation that interactive toys and games provide.

Tug-of-war, fetch and puzzle-style toys challenge a dog’s brain, encouraging problem-solving and focus. That kind of engagement can help prevent boredom and anxiety, especially for high-energy or working breeds that crave a job to do.

Playtime also strengthens the bond between dogs and their humans. Whether you’re engaging in a spirited tug session or tossing a toy across the yard, those shared moments build trust, confidence and connection.

At just $10.99, this playful find is an easy and affordable way to deliver all of the above. Cheers to that!

One-Eyed Orange Cat Named 'Nicholas Cage' Totally Nails the Part

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 12:51pm

Some cats are silly. Some cats are dramatic. And then there is Nicholas Cage, a one-eyed Orange cat who somehow manages to be both while also giving off the energy of a retired actor who expects to be addressed properly.

In the video, we see him sitting there looking extremely composed, and the caption says, “A gentleman responds only to his full given.” That alone is incredible. His person calls his name a few times, and he does not even bother to turn around. No reaction. No courtesy glance. Nothing. But the second she uses his full name, he finally responds like, “Yes, that is me. You may proceed.”

@realgirlproject

I should have known from the arm positioning that this guy is all business

♬ original sound - Jamie Alyson Feldman

The post caption makes it even better: “I should have known from the arm positioning that this guy is all business.” And honestly, that is exactly the vibe. Nicholas Cage is not lounging. He is posed. The arm placement is immaculate. He looks like he has opinions about punctuality, etiquette, and whether this meeting could have been an email.

It is impossible not to laugh because orange cats already have such big personalities, and this one seems to have gone full executive mode. Most orange cats act like chaos in fur form. Nicholas Cage acts like he is on a board of directors. A one-eyed orange cat refusing to acknowledge casual use of his name until his full title is spoken? That is comedy. That is branding. That is commitment.

There is no big stunt, no wild zoomies, no dramatic soundtrack. Just a cat, a name, and a perfectly timed response that makes him seem like the most dignified little guy on the internet. It feels like one of those tiny pet moments that instantly tells you everything about an animal’s personality.

And yes, the one-eyed look somehow adds even more character. He is not framed as fragile at all. If anything, he comes across as even more unforgettable. Nicholas Cage is fully in charge of the room, the conversation, and apparently the naming protocol.

This is the kind of pet clip people replay because the joke lands harder every time. The posture. The delay. The full-name response. It is all so weirdly specific and completely perfect. He is not just a cat with a funny name. He is a cat who understands the assignment and insists everyone else does, too.

Respect the Cat, Respect the Routine

Cats with big personalities usually respond best when you lean into consistency instead of forcing interaction. Use the same cues, names, and routines for meals, play, and attention so they know what to expect and feel comfortable engaging on their terms. If your cat ignores you half the time, congratulations, you may simply be living with a tiny professional.

According to the ASPCA, cats thrive with predictable routines, enrichment, and low-stress environments, which can help them feel more secure and socially confident. Regular play, cozy resting spots, and gentle interactions go a long way, especially with cats who are expressive, particular, or a little dramatic.

I have such a soft spot for pets with very specific standards, and Nicholas Cage waiting for his full name before responding is exactly the kind of ridiculous dignity I will always adore.

Fluffy Golden Retriever Puppy Looks Just Like a Precious Little Potato

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 12:31pm

What in the world could be better than a Golden Retriever puppy? The TikTok video below concisely answers that particular question: A Golden Retriever puppy who happens to look like the fluffiest little potato.

That is most certainly the case for the sweet baby named Archie in the video below, who is giving his very best potato performance while snuggling into the couch cushions.

@our.golden.archie

Po-tay-to po-tah-to. Either way, I was soo fluffy! 🥹 #puppy #goldenretriever #goldenpuppy #potato #imapotato

♬ ShiloPotato - Kayla🦋

This video from @our.golden.archie on TikTok has already racked up over 472k views, and it's easy to see why — a fluffy puppy burrowing into the couch while the viral "I'm a potato" audio plays over the video might be the cutest thing you'll see all day.

This early in their lives, puppies really do give off potato vibes, but in the best way possible. It's not Archie's fault he's the same color as my favorite source of carbs!

Archie has plenty of fans who are showering him with compliments in the comments on the video, too, with one person writing, "I'll take him, thank you."

I seriously doubt that Archie's mom would be willing to let go of him anytime soon, but just in case, I'd also like to join that waiting list.

Related: Golden Retriever Puppy Trying to 'Help Human Pump Gas' Is the 'Cutest Floof Ever'

Archie is still very new to the world (and his forever family) but it's clear that since the very beginning, he's been so loved. His parents shared the first video on his account back in January, where they showed off all the preparations they'd been making ahead of his Gotcha Day, and less than two months later, this adorable dog has already gained nearly 10,000 followers and counting.

It's hard to imagine that this little guy was even smaller than he is now just a few weeks ago, but the videos don't lie. He's been a potato since day one, and that's most definitely a compliment.

Those precious new puppy months go by way too fast, let alone the first year, so it's good to see that Archie's parents are documenting it all and enjoying their little fuzzball while they can. He's too cute!

Golden Retriever Puppy With Rare 'Mosaic Birthmark' Is Truly a Sight To Behold

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 12:20pm

Golden Retrieverpuppies are already unfairly cute, but this 6-week-old little guy looks like someone added a surprise paint swatch before he finished downloading. Bernie has soft golden fur everywhere… except for the distinct black patches on his leg and body, giving him a rare “mosaic birthmark” pattern that makes him look like a tiny limited-edition version of a classic Golden.

Mosaic birthmarks in dogs are unusual but harmless variations in pigmentation that happen during early development. They don’t affect health or personality; they just create one-of-a-kind markings. In Bernie’s case, it makes him look like a fluffy bumblebee potato who wandered into the world with bonus customization settings enabled.

@berniethegoldenr

Hola soy Bernardo!! 🐾 Mi mamá se equivocó y lo subió a su tiktok en lugar de al mío 🙃 #newpuppy #goldenretriever #goldenretrieverlife #dogsoftiktok

♬ sonido original - zorii30t_😈

TikToker @berniethegoldenr shared the clip of Bernie waddling around, exploring, and occasionally collapsing into sleep the way only very young puppies can. He toddles with that signature baby Golden Retriever wobble, sniffs absolutely nothing in particular, and then plops down like he has worked a full shift. One commenter called him “a fluffy bumblebee,” while another simply declared him “a cute potato,” which feels medically accurate.

Related: Litter of Rottweiler Puppies Is a Pile of Chubby, Fluffy, Wholesome Goodness

Some viewers wondered if he might be a chimera Golden, but others explained that black isn’t normally part of the breed’s color genetics and that these markings are most likely a rare mutation affecting pigment. Either way, the consensus was clear: Nobody cares about the science when the result is this adorable.

Honestly, he looks like the kind of puppy who would fall asleep mid-snack and wake up confused but still happy.

What Is a Mosaic Birthmark in Dogs? @sunrisengoldenshomestead

Meet Kloe! Her vet calls her a "mismatched golden" because of the black fur birthmark on her face! This occurrence is very rare! #foryoupage #goldenretrieverlife #golden4rvlife #blacksplotchgolden #goldens #rvfulltime #rvlife

♬ Sunrise - Official Sound Studio

A mosaic birthmark occurs when a dog develops from cells with slightly different genetic instructions, leading to patches of fur that differ in color from the rest of the coat. This can happen early in embryonic development and usually has no impact on the dog’s health or behavior.

These markings are rare, especially in breeds with very consistent coloring like Golden Retrievers, which is why Bernie stands out so much. Most mosaic dogs grow up perfectly normal, just extra recognizable. Think of it as nature’s way of making sure nobody ever loses their dog at the park.

Ragdoll Cat Meows With Pure Pride While Showing Kittens to Human Mom

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 11:35am

Of course, the relationship that mama cats have with their kittens is a bit different from the way that human moms relate to their newborns, but it still isn't easy to bring those babies into the world! And since the majority of kitten births are multiples, I can only imagine how exhausting it must be for a new cat mom right after months of pregnancy and giving birth.

New moms — human or cat — are never too exhausted to show off how proud they are of their babies, though, and that includes the Ragdoll cat in the video below who can't wait to show her new human mom what she accomplished.

@pearlsragdolls

Josie had 1 girl and 2 boys

♬ original sound - Pearl’s Ragdolls

On Tuesday, February 21, @pearlsragdolls on TikTok shared this sweet footage of proud mom Josie showing off her new kittens, which include one girl and two boys. Three babies at once is a big deal!

They are all so tiny, and it's too sweet to see how Josie jumped right back into their enclosure with them, ready to clean them and offer all the cuddles they could want.

She's a natural!

Related: Poofy Ragdoll's Winter Coat Is Plushie Princess Perfection

It seems like Josie has had her mothering instincts long before having kittens herself, considering the way she's treated the other kittens she's been around at home, including the ones who aren't biologically hers.

For example: The way she took a break from caring for her own babies to make sure that the older kittens who had been born earlier were doing okay. She's taking such good care of them, even though she has plenty of her own babies to worry about.

@pearlsragdolls

Josie still likes to mother the older kittens even though she has her own now

♬ original sound - Pearl’s Ragdolls

In a previous video, Josie's mom explained that her motherly instincts really went into overdrive hours before her babies were born, writing, "The day she gave birth she wanted to groom all the cats and attend to all the other kittens." It's like a cat version of nesting!

Josie deserves to live out her proud mom dreams and show those adorable new babies off to anyone she wants. She did such a good job!

Sly Cockatoo's Stellar Stalking Skills Are Straight Out of a Horror Movie

Thu, 02/26/2026 - 11:20am

I've never had birds, so I turn to the internet's best category of entertainment—Cockatoos—when I'm in need of an instant pick-me-up. They're guaranteed to bring the chaos, jokes, imitations, and sometimes... stalking!

Charlie Jr. is one of my favorite birds in existence, and it's 50% because of his precious bond with Dad, and 50% how he treats the "spare human" (Mom) when his favorite guy is home!

@charliejuniorcockatoo

The sound of the nails against the floor is the sound I hear in my nightmares xx #cockatoo #stalker #horrortok #parrotsoftiktok #foryoupagе

♬ Creepy and simple horror background music(1070744) - howlingindicator

Charlie is a rescue Cockatoo in his 20s, living la vida loca with his human parents, also in their 20s, so you could say he's a little spoiled. A perfect day in the life of Charlie is one where he runs the show, which is every day!

This dramatic, sassy Parrot has a few activities he enjoys doing each day, and they include:

  • Dancing with Dad
  • Watching football with Dad
  • Relaxing with Dad
  • Keeping Mom away from Dad by any means necessary
  • Reminding Mom through stalking, posturing, and intimidating: HANDS OFF DAD

You could say Charlie "tolerates" Mom throughout the day when his favorite human works, but once Dad's home, all bets are off. If his life were a movie, the typical drama or rom-com Charlie partakes in with the spare human quickly morphs into all things horror, and it's pretty entertaining!

Related: Cockatoo Who Loves Attention Becomes His Town's 'Prime Entertainment' Source

What Do Cockatoos Do To Show Dominance?

If you're ever in the same room with a Cockatoo like Charlie, and they spread their wings with puffed feathers, raise their crest, lunge, or begin loud vocalizations, as some experts note, you're probably getting schooled in who runs things. Some may even bite to establish territory or show dominance, so paying attention to body language matters.

As adorable as these birds are, they tend to bond strongly with one human, and anyone else is in the way! You'll never see Charlie happier than when he gets his nightly headbanging dance party with Dad!

@charliejuniorcockatoo

Sometimes Charlie gets a little too amped up, but it's why I love him. He exhibits all the best traits of a star pet, even when it's a targeted attack on Mom. Who knows, maybe next time his little horror flick audition will be a surprise love story with the spare human (but probably not)!
