We Can't Stop Laughing at How This Golden Retriever Watches Her Cartoons
The children's TV show Twirlywoos may have stopped airing in 2017, but thanks to streaming, toddlers are still being delighted by it. And for one golden retriever, the show still very much feels like must-see TV.
"Yesterday she perched herself on the table to get a closer look at a car zooming around the screen....who knows, maybe she'll learn something from the show too!🤷♀️" wrote the curious pooch's owner on Reddit's r/goldenretrievers.
In the video, we see the golden completely mesmerized by the show's colorful stop-motion animation.
What Are Fans Saying About It?One commenter painted another perfect picture of a similar situation, saying, "My 5yr old golden watches the Wheel of Fortune with my elderly parents every night. He knows their schedule, so at 6:29pm every night he gets up from wherever he is and goes to their TV room and sits and leans against my dad's leg and watches with them. When it's over he goes back to napping."
Can't help but wonder if this pooch has amassed an extensive vocabulary thanks to the game show.
Another commenter talked about what happens when another dog appears on the screen, saying, "My dog was oblivious too, except for one time when she looked up and saw another golden retriever on the TV. That time, she barked and bumped the screen with her nose."

Why Moving Images Are so Hard for Dogs to IgnoreDogs experience the world differently from us, especially when it comes to vision.
They are far more sensitive to motion than humans. Modern televisions with higher refresh rates display motion in a way that dogs can clearly perceive. Older televisions often looked like flickering images for dogs, but newer screens appear smoother and more lifelike.
That means fast-moving shapes, bright colors and animated characters can grab their attention in a very real way.
The Joy of Sharing a Screen With Your DogThere is something oddly comforting about seeing a dog enjoy something so ordinary.
You sit on the couch, turn on a show, and suddenly your dog is right there with you, watching. Not out of loyalty, but genuine curiosity. While we may never know exactly what they think they are seeing, moments like this make it feel like the gap between us is just a little bit smaller.

2-Month-Old Puppy Becomes Tech Firm’s ‘Employee of the Month’ for Zero Work
She showed up on Monday, and by Tuesday, the standup meeting ran 10 minutes long because nobody wanted to stop talking about her.
That is what happened at a tech firm that shared the story of its new employee, a 2-month-old Chow Chow puppy, on Reddit.
Often, when employees bring dogs to the office, things change. It starts with one glance. Then another. And before anyone realizes it, an entire office has quietly stopped working.
Our newest coworker is only 2 months old! Her main job seems to be being cute.by u/KIRI_Engine_App in aww
Here is the moment when productivity can disappear. You sit down with your morning coffee, open your laptop and prepare to check your to-do list. Then, you hear soft paws on the floor. A tiny head appears beside your chair.
You tell yourself you will just pet her for a second. Ten minutes later, you are on the floor.
That is the kind of shift a puppy creates. It is not loud or disruptive. It is softer than that. More persuasive. The kind of distraction people welcome.
One commenter on the original Reddit post summed it up perfectly: zero work done, still employee of the month.
Related: This Adorable Office Dog Just Battled an ‘Alligator’—You’ll Love the Ending
How Are Fans Reacting to It?Naming her employee of the month was not the only funny comment. People loved seeing the two-month-old Chow Chow puppy and had some thoughts on her work at the office.
“Best we can do is doubling the treat quota and adding a 15-minute scheduled nap every hour,” wrote one person. Another commenter said, “Nono, her job is to help raise morale and provide emocional support in the Office, her being cute is just a bonus.”
And one commenter gave her a new title: CCO. In his words, “She's the CCO... Chief Chaos Officer! (Or Chief Cuteness Officer, depending on her mood, lol).” We couldn't agree more.
How Puppies Change the Entire Mood of a WorkplaceThere is a reason this scenario feels so familiar. Puppies do more than distract. They reset the emotional tone of a room.
Research on workplace animals has shown that dogs can lower stress levels and increase social interaction between coworkers. Even brief interactions, like petting a dog for a few minutes, can reduce cortisol, the hormone linked to stress.
In a high-pressure environment like a tech firm, that matters.
People talk more. They smile more. Conversations start that would not have happened otherwise. And for a few moments, deadlines feel less overwhelming.
The next time someone suggests bringing a dog to the office, maybe the real question isn't whether it's professional. It's whether your team needs it, and from the looks of the joy this pup brings, we think every office could use the boost of morale a puppy brings.

Rare Golden Retriever-Bernese Mountain Dog Mix Is the Perfect Blend of Two Beautiful Breeds
All dogs are beautiful in our eyes, but some just have something extra that takes their beauty to a whole new level. When it comes to rare-breed mixes, seeing features or colors we're not used to adds to the spectacular and adorableness of it all, and these pups tend to be very memorable.
And this video of a stunning Golden Retriever-Bernese Mountain Dog mix is the perfect example of how two very distinct-looking breeds can somehow still shine through. Her features are so gorgeous that she's a real, true beauty.

She's a stunning half Golden Retriever and half Bernese Mountain Dog, and somehow she has all the features of a Golden while in the coat of a Berner—she oozes charm.

Both Golden Retrievers and Bernese Mountain Dogs Have Kind PersonalitiesToostie, the mixed-breed dog, is such a sweet charmer; it's easy to understand why so many people have fallen in love with her looks and personality. And all that makes sense because both the Golden Retriever and Bernese Mountain Dog are known for being true charmers, according to experts.
The American Kennel Club says Golden Retrievers are "intelligent, friendly, [and] devoted," while the Bernese Mountain Dogs are considered "good-natured, calm, [and] strong." The Golden is part of the "sporting group," which is said to be "well-rounded," and the Bernese Mountain Dog is from the "working group," which is "strong, watchful, and alert." These are much-loved qualities in a pet, so it makes a lot of sense that when combined—called the Golden Mountain Dog—they're so loved.
Wag! explains that the Golden Mountain Dog is usually black or brown and has a thick coat that needs grooming to stay shiny and untangled. These pups have a "reputation for being gentle giants," and they love to make their families happy. Add in their intelligence, easygoing attitude, and love of work and tasks, and they're a dream to add to the family.
And we believe that fully when we watch Toostie's videos!
Massive, Rare 'Stop Sale' Issued for Popular Cat Food Due to Serious Health Risks
When we're picking out our pet food brand, most of the time, we're picking out the food they're going to eat for the rest of their lives. We want to make good, healthy choices: the better the food we choose, the happier they'll be. For many, they want to go with raw food.
Right now, there's a massive recall and "stop sale" issued for one of the most popular raw cat food brands on the market: Go Raw L.L.C.'s Quest Cat Food. Specifically, there's a recall on the Frozen Raw Cat Food: Chicken Diet.
Quest Cat Food Frozen Raw Chicken DietImage via Quest Cat Food
Back in February, GO Raw issued a voluntary recall for some of their freeze-dried products, but has now expanded the recall and included two lots of their Raw Cat Food: Chicken Diet. The affected lots (including the initially recalled product) are:
- Quest Cat Food Freeze Dried Chicken Recipe:
Lot #C25288 Best By 10/15/27 - Quest Cat Food Frozen Raw Cat Food (Chicken Diet), 2LB Bag:
Lot Code: MCC25321 UPC: 6-91730-17104-9 Best By: 5/17/27 - Quest Cat Food Frozen Raw Cat Food (Chicken Diet), 2LB Bag:
Lot Code: MCD25350 UPC: 6-91730-17104-9 Best By: 6/16/27
The products are being recalled due to having low levels of the essential thiamine (Vitamin B1). Affected bags of food were sold in retail stores across 21 states, and the bags are all the same: beige plastic with a zip-lock and a purple stripe. If you have a bag, you'll be able to find the lot information and best-by date on the front of the bag.
Related: Another Popular Cat Food Recalled Due to Bird Flu Dangers
GO Raw L.L.C. has ordered a stop-sale of all Quest products while they investigate the issue further and address it. For now, consumers who purchased affected bags should return them to retailers for a refund or contact the company if they ordered from them directly.
Vitamin B1 Deficiency In CatsThe biggest danger with GO Raw's Quest Cat Food is that the food is deficient in thiamine, more commonly known as Vitamin B1. It's essential for cats, and going without it long-term could potentially lead to:
- Seizures.
- Ventral neck flexion, or neck-curling.
- Weight loss.
- Lethargy.
- In extreme cases, death.
If you have been feeding your cat affected food, contact your vet: they will be able to diagnose based on the symptoms or via bloodwork and draft a treatment plan to help get them back on track!

This Sleepy Kitty Takes the Biggest Yawns You've Ever Seen, and It's Adorable
There's a moment, somewhere between sleep and wakefulness, when a kitten opens its mouth in a yawn so complete it looks like it might turn itself inside out. The whole face reorganizes. The eyes squeeze shut. The tiny pink tongue curls.
That moment might last just a few seconds, yet, somehow, it's the most adorable thing you've seen all day.
One Reddit user recently shared a video of their kittens waking up from a nap, and what follows is a sequence of yawns so expressive, so physically committed, that viewers couldn't stop watching.
Tiny Yawnsby u/LCCheerio in aww
The moment one yawn ends, you are eagerly waiting for the next one, and your patience gets rewarded.
Commenters loved seeing this tiny kitty's big yawns, writing, “It's tiring being so little. Everything is so far away!” and “Aww what a tired baby.”
Watching a kitten mid-yawn is something that can make you stop scrolling and smile. The mouth opens wider than seems physically possible for something that small. The jaw drops. The tongue stretches into a pointed curl. Whiskers fan forward. For a brief moment, the whole kitten is just yawn, nothing else.
It is so compelling to watch. There's no performance here. Just a small animal doing something with unintentional grace.
What makes it look so dramatic on a small face is proportion. A kitten's mouth, relative to its head, opens to roughly the same angle as an adult cat's. But on something that fits in your palm, that same gape looks almost cartoonish. The anatomy is identical, but the effect is completely different.
Related: This Abandoned Tiny Kitten Found His Hero, and the Snuggles Won’t Stop
Why Do Kittens Yawn?Yawning in kittens works much like it does in humans, but there are a few extra layers.
First, it helps regulate oxygen and wakefulness. Kittens cycle quickly between sleep and activity, so yawning helps their bodies adjust.
Second, it’s tied to brain development. Young animals spend a lot of time sleeping because their brains are growing rapidly. Yawning often appears during these transitions between sleep stages.
Do Kittens Stop Yawning? No, kittens never completely stop yawning and continue to do so through adulthood. Yawning is a normal, involuntary behavior that continues through adulthood. Cats use yawning to signal relaxation or boredom, or to wake themselves up.
Think of it like humans. When we wake up, we stretch and yawn to transition between the sleep stage of the day and wakefulness, and it is the same with cats. But as this video shows, when tiny baby kittens do it, it's way cuter.

Tiny Foster Kittens All Born With One Missing Foot Are Stealing Hearts Everywhere
Litters of puppies and kittens are sometimes born with health issues. One fur baby or all siblings may be affected by a genetic disorder. Sometimes it's easy to trace the source of the complication, while other situations aren't as clear.
These four black-and-white kitten siblings were all born without one foot. A foster mom is now tending to these pretty kitties and making sure they get lots of love.
@emiliexfostersMeet my new foster kittens 🥹 #fyp #foryou #fosterkittens
♬ New Home - Penguin PianoThe foster mom picked up each kitchen in the TikTok from @emiliexfosters to show how they were all missing their back left foot. The litter includes two boys and two girls, who were all letting out plenty of sweet little "meows".
While the foster mom didn't have a specific reason for the abnormality, she concluded it may be from an incident during the mama cat's pregnancy rather than a genetic disorder.
"We don't know what happened, but the likely scenario is that they got tangled in the umbilical cord," the onscreen text explained, adding, "Unfortunately, they were brought to the shelter without a mom."
The adorable kittens appeared perfectly content and happy as they snuggled with and piled on top of each other. None of them seemed to notice anything was missing, especially since they had each other.
Common Genetic Disorders in CatsThere's a strong focus on DNA in pets in recent years, resulting in some significant genetic discoveries. Cats seem prone to certain genetic disorders, including:
Related: Mother Maine Coon Cat's Cuddle Session With 3-Week Old Kittens Will Make You Go 'Aww!'
- Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease — Symptoms include straining to urinate, urinating small amounts frequently, painful urination and urinating outside the litter box.
- Polycystic Kidney Disease — Mostly found in Persians and Himalayans due to a defective gene found at a high frequency in these breeds.
- Heart Disease — Specifically, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, caused by genetic mutations in Maine Coon and Ragdoll cats.
- Manx Syndrome — Occurs mostly in Manx cats but can happen with other breeds, where they are born with extremely short or absent tails.
- Deafness — Often results from the inheritance of an abnormal gene, called "W” by feline geneticists.
- Blindness — Specifically, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), is known to have a genetic cause in some cats and usually occurs later in life.
With early intervention and proper veterinary care, cats afflicted with these disorders can live long and productive lives.
These little kittens already have a wonderful head start thanks to their loving foster mom, who promises in the onscreen text, "You're safe now, babies."

Tripod Cat Picks Fight With Sister Using Phantom Limb and We Can't Stop Laughing
Some cats pick fights, and then there are cats who invent entirely new ways to pick fights. A gray tripod cat in the following video is doing exactly that, squaring up with her Tuxedo sister from across the bed and fully committing to a battle strategy that involves… a limb that isn't even there.
In the clip, the gray kitty leans forward with intense focus, moving her whole body like she's delivering a series of very serious slaps, despite the fact that the limb in question is not actually there. She knows exactly what she is doing, and in her mind, she is absolutely landing every single hit.

♬ I Do Whatever The Fuck I Want - Nick HustlesTikTok user @bunnythetripodcat shared the hilariously adorable video, and those in the comments immediately recognized this three-legged baddie for the main character she is.
“A little imaginary skippity pat-pat,” one person wrote, which honestly deserves to be added to the official cat vocabulary.
Related: Precious Tripod Dog Refuses To Eat Until She Gets a Kiss
“Older sister felt every bit of those phantom skippity pats, too,” another added, and you know what, she probably did. The energy alone was enough.
“Bless her bad a*s heart,” someone said, which feels accurate. This is bold behavior.
One commenter pointed out, “She was so satisfied with those pats she laid back like the reigning queen,” and that might be the best part. The confidence does not end with the “fight.” It carries all the way through the victory lap.
“The confidence and seriousness of those skippity pats-pats are epic!” another wrote, and yes. There is no irony here. She means it.
And then, of course: “Once a baddie, always a baddie,” followed by, “This is the confidence us queens should all be striving for.”
Honestly, I agree. If my Maine Coon cat ever tried this, he would knock himself over mid- swing and then pretend it never happened. This cat, meanwhile, delivered a full smackdown and stuck the landing.
Five Reasons To Adopt a Tripod Cat Tripod Tabby cat standing.Image Via: Ferda Demir/Shutterstock

First, they adapt incredibly well. Most tripod cats learn to move, jump, and play just like any other cat, often within a surprisingly short amount of time. They figure it out, and then they carry on like nothing ever happened.
Second, they tend to be incredibly resilient. Whatever they have been through, they come out the other side with this very specific mix of toughness and sweetness that is hard to explain until you see it.
Third, they are just as playful as any other cat. As this video clearly proves, they will still chase, pounce, and yes, even pick fights using creative techniques that no one else could possibly invent.
Fourth, they often form strong bonds with their people. There is something about their journey that makes them especially affectionate and connected.
And finally, they deserve their happily ever after just like any kitty, and many times, these precious cats are overlooked in favor of their four-legged counterparts at animal shelters. If you are looking to add a cat to your home, please consider giving a tripod kitty a chance.

Gorgeous Maine Coon Answers Mom’s Every Question Like a Tiny Human
Most pet parents have talked to their animals in their own way. They may use a funny voice or even funny words, and of course, all the nicknames for their beloved canine or feline companions.
The best, though, is when our pets talk back to us, and we see that here with a beautiful Maine Coon cat who is literally having a full-on conversation with her mom.
In the video from the account @chakacoon, this Tabby-patterned Maine Coon could not be more talkative as her mom asks her question after question, and she politely answers.
"What do you want?" Meow. "Whatcha doing?" Meow. "You want to go to bed?" Meow. "You just want to cuddle?" Meow. "Where were you today?" Meow. "Were you outside?" Meow.
"You weren't?" Meow.
Each meow was distinctively different, like she understood what Mom was saying and answered accordingly.
Some couples don't have conversations this long and thorough!
The Maine Coon's mom also noted in the captions that she was very engaged with eye contact during the conversation. "It’s not the talking cat, it’s the eye contact for me..." she wrote.
@chakacoonIt’s not the talking cat, it’s the eye contact for me.. #mainecoon #funnycats
♬ original sound - ChakaCoonSome of the comments on the video included, "I love a chatty cat. We just be talking for hours, LOL" and "Sounds like she's saying, Mom."
One person also noted that because of their large size, she always expects Maine Coons to roar instead of meow, but clearly, as we see in this video, they meow.

Do Cats Really Talk to Humans? When we see videos like this one and others that are similar, where kitties even mimic the sounds of their humans, we have to ask if cats do understand language?
Well, it is complicated.
According to a study called "Meowsic," launched in 2016 by Lund and Linköping universities in Sweden that looked at how cats communicate with people, it was found that "adult cats only meow to humans and not to each other, most likely because their mothers stopped responding once they were weaned off [their] milk," according to The Science Explorer.
The study also found that humans tend to speak in the same way to cats as they do to small children.
They speak in a higher-than-average pitch and in a sing-song tone.

Spoiled German Shepherd Gets a 20-Minute Morning Massage, and It’s Hilarious
Life can feel unpredictable. Busy mornings, bad news, plans falling apart before noon.
But for one German shepherd, there’s one thing that never changes in his routine: his morning massage.
Every day, without fail, he gets a full 20 minutes of slow, focused attention. And if you watch the video posted on Reddit, you can see exactly how much it means to him.
For dogs, consistency and routine are everything. Routine builds trust, reduces stress and helps dog cope with everyday issues.
For this German shepherd, the massage isn’t a luxury. It’s part of his daily rhythm. It’s the kind of calm most owners spend years trying to create.
What Are Fans Saying About It?Many fans resonated with the post. Pet parents nowadays are trying to spend more time with their dogs, and giving a massage is a great way to do it.
Related: Wait Until You See This German Shepherd's Heartwarming Shelter Transformation
Some people commented things like, “We call our dog a bougie boy because he demands a turn when we use the massage gun” and “Best part of my girl’s day, and my day too!”
Others commented on the actual massage, saying, “Well played. And smart to include the paw massage. I waited too long on that and had trouble grooming mine” and “Demands a full body massage multiple times a day and falls asleep.”
One fan even provided some encouragement for the original poster, whose post had the caption “No matter how dumpster fire my life may be, my dog will still get his morning 20 min full body massage.” To that, the person replied, “You have a GSD. Life is far from a dumpster fire. Hope things get better for you!”
The Benefits Dogs Get From a MassageMassage does more than just feel good to dogs. It improves circulation, which helps muscles recover, and it reduces stiffness, especially in active or large breeds like German shepherds.
It can also help lower stress hormones. Dogs that receive regular physical contact in a calm setting often show fewer signs of anxiety.
Large breeds carry significant tension in their joints and muscles. German shepherds are prone to hip dysplasia and arthritis as they age, and gentle, consistent massage may help increase blood flow to these vulnerable areas. It may also reduce muscle stiffness after a long walk.
The Importance of Bonding TimeMost of the time, bonding between pet parents and their dogs happen in ordinary moments.
Not during training sessions or big outings, but in the quiet routines. Sitting together. Walking the same route. Repeating small interactions every day.
This pet parent and their German shepherd took it a step further. Their bonding time requires attention on both sides. Dogs notice when you devote your full attention to them, and it builds trust in a way that’s hard to replicate.
We're so happy this human and German shepherd get their special one-on-one time every single day because when we slow down and spend time with our pets, everyone benefits (and who doesn't love a massage?).

15-Year-Old Golden Retriever-Shih-Tzu Mix Still Looks Like a Puppy—And People Can't Believe It
Age is still a taboo subject for many people. The effort to keep those youthful looks as we get older is a massive money-making industry. From facelifts and laser treatments to Botox and tummy tucks, the quest to look young — and more importantly, not old — remains a priority for many men and women.
Buddy the Golden Retriever-Shih-Tzu mix doesn't need to worry about any age-defying procedures. This precious pooch could easily be mistaken for a puppy even though he's 15 years old.

At first glance, the canine cutie resembled a Golden Retriever puppy with his fluffy, honey-colored fur. Yet there were definite hints of another breed mixed in, especially in his small build.
His playful, somewhat clumsy movements were very puppy-ish, adding to his youthful appearance. Buddy's adorable face would probably have people guessing his fur baby age at about 6 months, but they'd be way off.
"I don't think he knows he's 15," the onscreen text shared, with the caption adding, "Hands down I have the actual forever puppy... what a baby he is."
Certain Breeds Maintain a Youthful LookMany small dog breeds can keep that puppy-like glow throughout their lives. Pomeranians, Yorkshire Terriers, Poodles, and Malteses have those soft, fluffy coats and compact size that seem forever young. Buddy's Shih-Tzu family line may have helped him avoid a more senior appearance.

Followers were in disbelief at Buddy's age and convinced he was still just a pup.
"15!!! He looks like a puppy," someone declared.
"He's just a baby. He's wearing a onesie," another pointed out.
"15 years? Surely you mean 15 months, right?" a fan asked.
"He's 15 minutes old and a loaf of bread," one remarked.
"15 and still looking like a 5-month-old," a follower posted.
Whatever Buddy's anti-aging secret is, it's clearly working.

Raising Chicks 101Raising baby chicks is actually pretty straightforward—but they do need the right setup from day one. The biggest priority? Warmth, safety, and consistency (and massage LOL). Baby chicks can’t regulate their body temperature yet, so they need a brooder (basically their starter home) that stays warm—around 90–95°F the first week, then gradually cooler each week as they grow.
The brooder itself doesn’t have to be fancy—a large box or bin works—but it does need clean bedding, good airflow, and enough space so they’re not piling on top of each other. Pine shavings are typically recommended, and keeping things clean is non-negotiable if you want healthy chicks.
Food and water are simple but important. Chicks should always have access to fresh water and a chick starter feed, which is specially formulated to support their early growth. Skip treats at first—they need proper nutrition more than snacks.
You’ll also notice they grow fast. Within a few weeks, they go from tiny fluff balls to awkward teenagers with patchy feathers. Around 6 weeks (give or take), once they’re fully feathered and the weather cooperates, they can start transitioning outside.
The overall takeaway: keep them warm, fed, clean, and not overcrowded—and they’ll do the rest. They’re surprisingly low-maintenance (except, apparently, when they require affection) once you get the basics right, but those first few weeks really set the tone for a healthy flock later on.

7 Surprising Ways Dogs Pick Up on Your Feelings
Sometimes, as a pet owner it can seem like your dog is playing a game of copycat. You may do something, and a few seconds later you may notice that they have started to mimic you moments later. No, they aren't copying you just to be annoying. Instead, your dog may be mirroring you. When pets do this, it can be very subtle and you may not even realize it. To find out 7 shocking ways dogs mirror your emotions, according to a vet, keep reading.
If you're wondering, What does it mean when my dog mirrors me?” it's basically when your pup matches your behavior. "Mirroring is when your pets reflects your actions," says Dr. Amanda Chambers, DVM, a veterinarian with Embrace Pet Insurance. "This may involve copying your behavior or sometimes even your emotions. Dogs can be very empathetic creatures. Because your pet can sense how you are feeling, it can impact their mood and behavior as well."
This behavior isn’t just cute, it shows that dogs are highly attuned to their owners’ feelings. When your dog reflects your mood—whether happiness, stress, or sadness—it’s a sign of empathy and connection.
Related: Trainers Reveal 8 Dog Breeds With the Sweetest Personalities
Why Do Dogs Mirror People's Emotions?Dr. Chambers notes that your dog may do what you do as well as copy your emotions because they care. "Sometimes pets can really feed off of their owners' energy and emotions," Dr. Chambers notes. However, this can be both good and bad. "While this may not be an issue when you’re in a good mood, when you are extremely stressed or anxious, your dog may also experience these feelings, which can lead to unwanted or concerning dog behaviors like them hiding, having a change in appetite or inappropriate elimination."
Once you know the signs your dog is mirroring your emotions, you can dig into whether it's a red or green flag and then work on better managing your own emotions to support your dog’s well-being. That way, you can create a healthier, more supportive environment for both of you.
7 Signs Your Dog is Copying Your Emotions A relaxed and happy dog with a relaxed and happy person. When you know the signs your dog is copying your emotions, you gain a window into their heads and hearts (and yours). According to Dr. Amanda Chambers, these dog behaviors can reveal that your pup is deeply connected to you and senses your feelings as they copy your energy. That way, the next time you notice your dog doing one of these things, you will realize they aren’t random dog behaviors—they’re signs your dog is mirroring your emotions.
1. They mimick your postureDogs reveal a lot about their thoughts and feelings—and even yours—through their body language. When your dog mirrors your posture, it’s often a sign they are picking up on your emotions and reflecting your mood. "If you are lounding, they may lounge alongside you on a lazy weekend. On the other hand, if you are alert and listening intently, they are likely to follow your lead and perk their ears up." This kind of dog behavior shows how closely your pet is tuned in to your energy and emotional state.
2. They yawn when you doNo, your dog isn’t telling you they’re sleepy every time they yawn. Instead, this behavior may be a subtle sign of emotional connection and empathy. According to Dr. Amanda Chambers, yawning is one of the classic signs your dog is mirroring your emotions. "This is common between humans too, but when your dog sees you yawn, they may also yawn, not purposely but more like a reflex," Dr. Chambers states.
This type of “contagious yawning” is linked to how dogs sense your feelings and respond to your mood. It’s a small but powerful example of how your dog picks up on your emotional state and reflects it back to you.
3. They become anxious when you are stressedDogs often take on your stress as their own. According to Dr. Amanda Chambers, dogs are highly sensitive to strong human emotions, especially anxiety and stress. Because of this, it can directly impact their mood and behavior. When your dog becomes anxious alongside you, it’s often a clear sign they’re sensing your stress and reflecting your emotions back to you.
"If you notice your dog's mood shif, it could be from your dog picking up on how you—their owner—is feeling," Dr. Chambers says. In some cases, Dr. Chambers says a dog may be stressed or anxious about a change in their environment (your home), if you're going through family shifts, such as regular disagreements, a move or a new baby.
4. They are excited when you areHave you ever noticed if you get excited and happy, your dog does too? That's a classic exmaple of a dog copying your behavior. "If you start excitedly jumping or shouting, your pup may follow suit," Dr. Chambers states. "They tend to feed off of owner behavior, including at times of celebration and joy."
This is a powerful reminder that your dog is not just observing you—they’re truly feeling your feelings with you.

5. They act calm when you are relaxedIf you're calm, cool and collected, chases are your dog will be too. "When you are relaxed, your dog feels like they, too, can relax," Dr. Chambers says. "They sense that they can let their guard down when you do."
In this instance, if you want to see if your pup is relaxing when you are, look for soft bodies, sleeping near you or them sighing deeply in your presence. These are all clues your dog is chill—just like (and because of) you.
6. They seek out your company in new placesIf you're ever in a new environment or experiencing changes, chances are you may be more on alert than usual and not want to be alone. It turns out, you're not the only one. In fact, many dogs will mimic those same emotions their owner feels. It just goes to show an example of another way pets can mirror their humans as they can experience anxiety and stress due to changes in their environment being altered too. "In those moments, pets may seek comfort, which they can find by being close to you, a familiar face, the same way you may find comfort in their presence," Dr. Chambers shares.
7. They comfort you when you're sadCan dogs sense your feelings? They can! One more way a dog can copy your emotions is when you're feeling sad. They can read the room and know that you're feeling blue and as a result they will not only experience the same feelings, but they will also try to be there for you.
"Just as humans learn how to detect the emotions of their peers, dogs can detect the emotions of their owners," Dr. Chambers reveals. "They can sense strong emotions, especially sadness or anger. If you’re upset, your dog may snuggle with you, or even lick your face to help comfort you."

Rare Video of New Baby Dove and Her Mom Is Full of the Sweetest 'Eye Blinks'
There’s an old saying that times move fast—“in the blink of an eye.” But for baby Doves, time passes with many blinks of their eyes. Baby Doves are known to blink often, which can make them particularly endearing to humans (raises hand). Despite the high cute factor of a baby Dove blinking its adorable eyes over and over again, Doves are active blinkers for more reasons than just charming nearby humans.
A recent social media video captures the charm of a Dove blinking. With the baby’s mom sitting protectively nearby in the bird family’s nest, the little bird is barely visible in the camouflage of the nest. The bird’s little eyes are almost all that can be seen over the side of the nest as the baby Dove adorably blinks to its heart’s content.
Press play on the video below to see this sweet Dove in action.

♬ sonido original - Isaí Álvarez“Mourning doves are so beautiful,” commented one viewer. Another added, “Crazy how it blends in with the nest, so cute.”
Another viewer gushed, “Oh God I absolutely love doves, especially the eyes.”
“So precious,” added one more. “I love Doves.”
Why Baby Doves Blink So Much @the.daily.landingVisitor: Mourning Dove #dove #birdsoftiktok #bird #wildlife #nature
♬ original sound - The Daily LandingSo now that we’ve established that Doves make everything cute, let’s talk about why baby Doves blink so much. A Dove’s eyes possess a thin membrane that acts like a third eyelid and protects the bird’s eyes from dust and wind.
Doves blink often when preening, perched, or when observing their surroundings. While the behavior gives them the appearance of being very relaxed, Doves blink often as a way of observing what’s around them or protecting their eyes from the elements.
Commenters on the video were quick to note the robust nest the baby Dove and its mother called home. Doves are notoriously bad builders. Doves build nests out of grass and twigs, often in as quickly as two days, with the male Dove gathering the supplies and the female Dove building the actual nest.
Doves prefer to nest in thick foliage but often make themselves at home in atypical places like flower pots, gutters, and even on the tops of other birds’ nests.

West Highland Terrier Shopping at HomeGoods Looks Completely Over It
A quick trip to HomeGoods turns into a full emotional journey the second this West Highland Terrier realizes what kind of outing he’s been dragged into. In a video that feels a little too relatable, this Westie is spotted at HomeGoods looking like he has emotionally clocked out 5 minutes into the trip.
He is not barking. He is not pulling. He is not causing chaos. He is simply… there. Existing. With a face that says, I was promised something better than decorative pillows and seasonal baskets. So many baskets.
@darling.shopping26🐶what do you think he’s thinking? #homegoods #palmbeach #shoppingaddicton #dog #puppytok
♬ suono originale - LapolissiaThe TikTok account @darling.shopping26 shared the hilarious video, and I have to disagree with this pup; I am always up for spending many hours at HomeGoods. It's my Disney World!

The comments absolutely nailed the vibe.
“My husband has the same look at HomeGoods,” one person wrote, and honestly, that might be the most accurate comparison in the entire thread.
Another said, “Grab me a dog bed in the pet aisle, so at least I can be comfy and sleep, lol,” which feels like a very reasonable request at this point.
“Dog probably, ‘This again, she always does this,’” someone added, and you can tell this is not his first trip. This is a pattern. He has seen things. Specifically, throw pillows.
“Definitely not his first rodeo,” another commenter wrote, which… yes. That is the exact energy. Experienced. Tired. Resigned.
“He’s happy not to be left at home, even if packed in,” someone pointed out, which is probably true. He chose this. But he's still going to complain about it internally.
And finally, “He is there for support,” which I love. An emotional support Westie, just trying to get through the candle aisle in peace.
Is It OK To Take Your Dog Shopping With You? Jack Russell Terrier in a stroller, shopping.Image Via: Reshetnikov_art/Shutterstock
Whether it's OK to bring your dog shopping really depends on the store. Some shops, especially pet stores, are openly dog-friendly places, while others only allow service animals. Big retail stores like HomeGoods can vary by location, so it is always best to check that specific store’s policy before bringing your pup along.
Even if dogs are allowed, it's important to think about your pet’s comfort. Not every dog enjoys busy environments with lots of people, carts, and noise. A calm, well-socialized pooch who is comfortable on a leash is usually the best fit for outings like this.
You also want to be mindful of other shoppers. Keeping your dog close, under control, and out of aisles helps make the experience smoother for everyone. Bringing a small blanket or pillow, or using a cart, can also help your pup feel more secure, especially if they are on the smaller side, like a Westie.
At the end of the day, some dogs love being part of every errand, and others would absolutely prefer to stay home and nap. And based on this Westie’s face, I think we all know which category he falls into.

Dachshund Is Totally Upset New Baby Sister Won’t Play Fetch Yet
Dogs and babies are the perfect pair—once the two get fully acquainted. In the beginning, there are a few adjustments to schedules and routines for everyone that your dog might not understand. Even a simple game of fetch becomes a battle of wills!
Daphne, the Dachshund, recently went through this when Mom brought home a tiny human who has NO idea how to play fetch. Despite Daphne trying to teach the infant how to do it, the little girl isn't old enough quite yet, and the pup's reaction is too good.

The dedicated Miniature Dachshund is just a girl in the world, asking this baby to throw the ball. If only the infant were old enough, Daphne would have a built-in bestie, down for playtime anytime!
The good girl is gentle with her human sibling, which tells me that the day will come when Daphne and her little sister will have the time of their lives... just not yet.

The fluffy little Doxie is nothing if not persistent. She's learned that resilience and the belief that her dreams will one day come true pay off. For months, Daphne patiently tried and tried again to get the baby to play, and she did exactly that!
A follow-up video shows the baby tossing the ball back to an elated Daphne. Maybe it's an accident or pure coincidence, but it doesn't matter. In the sweet pup's mind, they're finally playing fetch together!
@jillianmariejohnson89Practice makes permanent. 🎾 Baby sister will throw this ball one day! ♬ original sound - Jillian Johnson Why Dogs Bring Babies Their ToysIn Daphne's defense, Dachshunds were originally bred as hunting dogs, so the instinct to chase and retrieve is part of their DNA. Along with their high energy and love of playtime, this is a breed known for patience and dedication to the job. In Daphne's case, the job is fetch, and she deserves a raise.
When dogs bring their people a toy, it's to initiate play, to express affection, or to bond. This amazing sign of trust is a blessing. I guess you could say that Daphne not only approves of the new baby, but she also loves her so much already that she'd like to share her favorite pastime (swoon)!

Senior Ferret Grandma Is Still Living Her Best Life at Age 14
There are pets you call “old,” and then there is this tiny white ferret who has reached a level of elderly that feels almost mythical. In a video that has people doing double takes, a 14-year-old ferret is still out here exploring, sniffing around, and generally continuing to exist like a tiny, determined grandma who refuses to retire.
The caption reads, “I present to the world my sister’s ferret. She is 14 years old,” and that alone is enough to stop you. Because ferrets typically only live around 6 to 10 years, sometimes stretching to 12 with excellent care. Making it to 14 is… something else entirely. That is not just old. That is legendary.
Click here to watch the video of this amazing ferret on TikTok.
The amazing video was shared on the @suavema406 account. In the clip, the little white ferret is seen investigating a dog bed that a Golden Retriever is currently occupying, which already feels bold. She is very, very skinny, with her ribs visible, and at first glance, you might think she is fragile. But then there are other moments when she is still playing, still moving, still doing ferret things, like she has decided aging is more of a suggestion than a rule.
Related: Handicapped Rescue Cat’s Loving Gaze at His Mom Has Everyone Emotional
The comments were a mix of awe, humor, and genuine respect.
“I have never seen an old ferret, and my ferret made it to 10 to 12. I love seeing elderly ferrets. It means they had a good life with someone who loved them deeply,” one person wrote.
Another said, “Oh, that’s an ANCIENT stink noodle,” which feels accurate and also kind of iconic.
Someone else added, “So I googled what 14 is in ferret years, that bitty is over 100!” which honestly tracks. This is great-grandma status.
“I thought that was one of those skeleton Halloween decorations,” another commenter admitted, which… OK, a little rude, but also, you can see where they are coming from.
And then the real takeaway: “Your sister must take GOOD care of her ferret. This shows the quality of your sister’s love and care.”
That part matters. Because a ferret living this long is not luck alone. It is attention, consistency, and a whole lot of love over many years.
I love cranky old pets. There is something about them that feels earned. Like they have seen everything, judged it, and decided to keep going anyway. This little ferret has that exact energy.
How Long Do Ferrets Usually Live and What Are They Like as Pets?Ferrets typically live between 6 and 10 years, though some can reach 12 with great care. That is why a 14-year-old ferret is so remarkable (Here's another video of this adorable girl in action). It's well beyond the average lifespan and usually reflects a lifetime of attentive, consistent care.
As pets, ferrets are playful, curious, and a little chaotic in the best way. They love to explore, burrow, and get into things they probably should not, which is why ferret-proofing your home is very much a real thing. They are social animals and often bond closely with their humans, and if they have companions, other ferrets, too.
They also sleep a lot, sometimes up to 18 hours a day, but when they are awake, they are busy. Expect energy, curiosity, and the occasional moment where you wonder how something so small caused so much disruption.
Caring for a ferret means providing a proper diet, regular vet care, and a safe environment where they can explore without getting into trouble. And as this tiny grandma clearly proves, when they are well-loved and well-cared-for pets, they can stick around long enough to become absolute legends.

Jack Russell’s Wild Zoomies Leave Her Chill Labrador Brother Completely Unbothered
Going out for a walk before the end of the day, sometimes after dinner and before bed, can be a great way to unwind and start to relax. But that's not a reality for everyone, and especially not for this one dog.
This video shows a Jack Russell Terrier exploding into full zoomie mode the second the walk ends, and they're back inside. She's living her best life in full-speed mode, but it's her brother's reaction, a Labrador who was just on the same walk, that makes this even funnier. Take a look!

Jack Russell Terriers Have a Lot of EnergyPeppa has so much energy, and it's the funniest thing watching her zoom back and forth. And since she's a Jack Russell Terrier, it's not a surprise at all that she's got all those running zooms to burn off.
According to VCA Animal HospitalsCanada, Jack Russell Terriers are known for being "entertaining and adventurous" as well as "bold, watchful, busy, independent, and mischievous." They're pretty friendly with people, can fight with other dogs, and may not be the best companions for homes with small animals because they can be big balls of energy, as we see with Peppa.
Since Jack Russell Terriers are so full of energy, if they're bored and don't get enough exercise, they tend to go seeking trouble, the site explains. So, having a good plan of action for lots of exercise and mental stimulation will help keep the whole family as happy and carefree as possible.
And, well, it's a fun show to watch a speedy Jack Russell Terrier zoom around as Peppa does!
Baby Rooster's First 'Cock-a-Doodle-Do' Is the Cutest Thing We've Ever Heard
Proud parents remember those special milestones that mark their child's development. First word, first step, first tooth — the list is endless and brings so much joy to those who get to witness these heartwarming accomplishments.
Our pets have these landmark moments as well, from a puppy's first bark to a bird's first chirp. This adorable baby Rooster just let out his first 'cock-a-doodle-doo' with a little help from YouTube and completely delighted his family.

♬ original sound - Tori 🌻The tiny yet colorful Rooster was in his cozy nest, surrounded by his family. They wanted him to say his "first words" and tried to motivate him by playing some Rooster sounds on YouTube.
When the tiny male chick heard the fowl-friendly noises, he clearly felt a certain kinship and wanted to give the vocalization a try for himself. The little Rooster screwed up his courage, took a breath, and let out his first adorable "cock-a-doodle-doo". The sound was a bit squawky, but it was a solid inaugural attempt. His family laughed in amazement at little chicken's mighty accomplishment.
Followers gave props to the baby Rooster's for his efforts and encouraged him to keep trying.
"I hatched and raised so many chickens and I never witnessed such a young Rooster crowing — this is so funny and cute," someone posted.
"He said that with his whole little chest," a follower noted.
"Congratulations little buddy, you’ll learn all the words soon," another shared.
"Reminds me of Simba trying to roar," a fan joked.
When Do Roosters Start Crowing?Rooster breeds vary, but most chickens typically start crowing between 8 and 20 weeks old. Their crows in the early stages are often soft and faint, yet grow stronger with time and continued vocal use.

Most people expect to hear a Rooster's crow first thing in the morning. Roosters have an internal clock that prompts them to use those iconic voices at the crack of dawn. Yet it's also a way they protect their territory by verbally warning predators and Roosters from other flocks to stay away from their property.
This baby Rooster is already off to a great start and is sure to be making everyone rise and shine in no time!

Chocolate Labrador Literally Screams With Joy Over Going to Grandma's House
Some dogs get excited about car rides.
Then there is Moose.
This Chocolate Labrador does not merely get excited when Dad asks if he wants to go see Grandma. He erupts. The screams that come out of this dog are so dramatic, so immediate, and so full-body committed that you almost have to respect the level of emotional honesty. It is not a bark. It is not a whine. It is the sound of a dog realizing he is about to experience pure happiness and simply being unable to contain himself.
@moose.tracks.labMy house 😐 Grandma’s house 🤩😂 Part 2 #labrador #funny #exciteddog #moose #grandmashouse
♬ Springbound - Art MusicAnd honestly, once you see Grandma’s house, it all makes sense.
The caption says, “You Never Give Me Blueberries. Just Saying.” Which, frankly, is a strong case. Because when Moose gets there, we see him happily planted on Grandma’s floor, receiving blueberries like the beloved little prince he clearly is. The look on his face while he gazes up at her is incredibly sweet. You can see the love immediately. This is not just a dog getting a snack. This is a grandson visiting the woman who understands him.
Then the video gets even better.
Because Grandma’s house is not just about blueberries. It's also apparently Moose’s social calendar.
We see him greeting all his friends there too, which really takes this from cute dog video to full lifestyle fantasy. First comes “Fancie’s Version of a High Five. Through the Crate,” which is exactly as adorable as it sounds. Then we get, “Roxi Lives at Grandma’s. That’s All He Needs to Know,” followed by Moose and Roxi zooming around the backyard together like this place is basically Disneyland for Labradors.
That is what makes the whole thing so fun to watch. Moose is not just happy. He is deeply, spiritually, scream-level invested in this destination. Grandma’s house has love, treats, friends, and apparently the exact kind of welcome that turns an ordinary dog into a full emotional tornado.
One comment says, “It sounded like he said ‘GRANDMA!!! OH MY GOD!!!’” and honestly, yes. That is exactly what it sounds like. It has that same energy as someone finding out their favorite person is downstairs with snacks. Moose is not being subtle, and thank goodness for that, because subtle would be a waste here.
The best pet videos are the ones that reveal a whole little world in under a minute, and this one absolutely does. Moose loves Grandma. Grandma clearly loves Moose. The blueberries are flowing. The backyard crew is assembled. Everyone wins.
Except maybe Dad, who now has to live with the fact that his own house is apparently the less exciting option.
Dogs Love the People Who Build Good Things Around ThemMoose’s full-body reaction is funny, but it also makes perfect sense. Dogs form strong bonds with the people who bring them comfort, routine, affection, and positive experiences, which is why a place filled with favorite snacks, familiar friends, and a loving person can feel like the greatest destination on earth. Rover notes that dogs often choose their favorite people through consistent positive interactions, shared routines, and trust.
A good reminder here is that little rituals matter. A familiar treat, a warm greeting, a safe place to play, or even just one person who always seems genuinely happy to see them can become a huge part of a dog’s emotional world.
Honestly, Moose screamed like Grandma was Beyoncé and the blueberries were VIP access.
