Orange Cat Physically Refuses to Let Dad Go to Work and It's a Little Scary
My dogs don't like it when we leave the house. They love having their humans home and express their sadness when they see any family member headed for the door. My Pug mix is especially clingy and tries to avert our plans with a last-minute plea to play or snuggle. Eventually, he accepts that we have to go about our daily routine.
This orange cat has a more direct approach in letting his dad know he doesn't want to be left alone.
@brandonnn00xxEvery morning same routine 🤣 #orangecatbehavior #fyp #cat #clingy #catsoftiktok
♬ original sound - brandonnn00xxIn the TikTok from @brandonnn00xx, the pretty kitty's father walked toward the door to leave for work. The orange cat was literally guarding the door, knowing his dad was going to attempt an exit.
"I'll be back later," his dad promised.
As soon as his father reached for the doorknob, the fast feline lunged toward his dad's arm and grabbed it in a sort of choke hold. The cat daddy successfully shook him loose, but the fur baby grabbed him again in the hopes of preventing his escape.
"He won't let me go to work," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Every morning, same routine."
The ginger cat would not be deterred and wrapped himself around his dad's arm every time he tried to leave. He added a hiss along with the physical movement, adding more of a threat to the intimidating attack.
His father finally put his foot down and firmly told him, "Stop!" Finally, the contrite kitty backed off and let his dad go earn a living.
Followers Lobbied for a Day OffViewers of the video sided with the cat cutie, with many encouraging his dad to stay home from work.
"Well, looks like you have to take the day off," one noted.
"I would send that to my boss and stay home," another remarked.

Woman Says Her Cat Is 'Prettier Than Any Human' She Knows, and It's Hard to Dispute
I'd argue that every cat is cute, and many are beautiful. But Lumi the Ragdoll? He's mesmerizing.
In a TikTok posted by @lifeoflumielovie, a woman boldly declares that her cat is "prettier than any human" she knows. After watching the video, it's honestly difficult to argue.

Meet Lumi, a Blue Bicolor Ragdoll @lifeoflumieloviehow is he so pretty #ragdoll #kitten #catlovers #cat #kittensoftiktok
♬ Kokiri Forest with Ocarinas - David Erick Ramos - OcarinaThe star of the clip is Lumi, a blue bicolor Ragdoll kitten born in September 2025, and living his best life in Miami. The video shows Lumi perched in a leafy cat tree, partially hidden among glossy green leaves. The on-screen text reads "this cat is prettier than any human I know." His mom playfully touches his paw, and then, he slowly looks up.
It's one of those cinematic moments where the lighting hits just right, and his bright blue eyes lock onto the camera. The first time I watched it, I actually said "whoa" out loud.
His fur looks impossibly soft and plush, like someone airbrushed a cloud and gave it ears. His creamy white coat contrasts with the cool gray "blue" shading on his ears and mask, which frames his face with almost perfect symmetry. His nose is a delicate bubblegum pink, and his white whiskers fan out against his darker facial points. But it's the eyes that truly stop you mid-scroll: wide, luminous and the prettiest icy blue color.

What Is a Blue Bicolor Ragdoll? The Ragdoll breed originated in California in the 1960s and quickly became popular for its gentle temperament and dramatic good looks. The name "Ragdoll" stems from their unique tendency to relax and go limp when picked up or cuddled, much like a child's rag doll.
A blue bicolor Ragdoll, like Lumi, has a soft gray (often called "blue" in fancy cat terms) and white coat pattern. "Blue" doesn't mean bright blue fur, but rather a diluted gray tone. In the bicolor pattern, the cat's legs, belly and chest are white, and their ears, upper face and tail are light gray.
Purebred Ragdolls always have blue eyes. It's part of the breed standard, so green or gold eyes would indicate a mix or a different breed altogether. Their eye color can range from pale icy blue to deep sapphire.
Between the toasted marshmallow coat, symmetrical facial markings and those vivid blue eyes, it's easy to see why Ragdolls are often described as one of the most beautiful cat breeds in the world.
Still, even among Ragdolls, Lumi stands out. Whether he's lounging among leaves or delivering a perfectly timed upward glance, he has the kind of photogenic presence that instantly grabs your attention.
Prettier than any human? That might be up for debate, but the evidence is pretty compelling.

8 Cat Behaviors Decoded by Pet Behaviorists
Cats are famously mysterious creatures. One minute they’re curled up in your lap purring happily, the next they’re sprinting across the room at full speed for no apparent reason. While these feline behaviors seem random, there’s often a deeper meaning behind the silly antics. 8 Cat Behavior Meanings Explained Two cats sitting by each other.Getty Images Sally Anscombe
Understanding feline communication doesn’t have to be a mystery. In this guide, we have 8 cat behavior meanings explained by professionals to help you better interpret your pet's subtle cues and unique personality. By learning the science behind these common cat habits, you’ll be able to respond to your cat’s needs like never before.
They Play With Their FoodIt’s a common scenario. You feed your cat. They walk up to the bowl, sniff it and then turn around and start seemingly playing with their food. “This cat habbit can be frustrating, but it’s a very normal thing for cats to do when not interested in food or if they’re not hungry,” says Joey Lusvardi, certified cat behavior consultant at Class Act Cats. “Cats are prey to larger predators so if they leave uneaten food out, it may attract something that wants to turn them into dinner.”
While this feline behavior may seem odd, Lusvardi says your cat is just trying to protect themselves in a natural, instinctual way. “If your cat does this frequently or doesn’t finish their food, give them smaller meals more frequently during the day because a cat's stomach is the size of a ping pong ball so they can only fit so much in there. That's why it's more natural for cats to eat smaller, but more frequent meals.”
They Use the Litter Box After You Clean ItYou’ve just cleaned your cat’s litter box, and your feline family member decides it’s time to do their business. That may cause you to think to yourself, "What does it mean when my cat uses the lttler box after I clean it?" Experts say there's actually a reason why cats behave this way. “Cats sometimes will go use a litter box right after you scoop or clean it,” Lusvardi says. “And no, it’s not because they’re sitting there plotting to cause you stress.”
According to studies on cat litter box preferences, Lusvardi says cats show a clear preference for litter with smaller particles and without chunks. “There was even one study where researchers compared a litter box used by another cat, a clean one and one with fake urine or feces,” he explains. “They found that the ones with chunks were used less frequently even if the ‘waste’ was a decoy.”

They Constantly Headbutt YouIf your cat is constantly headbutting you, you’re witnessing one of the sweetest and most meaningful cat behaviors explained by experts. This affectionate action is actually called cat bunting, and it’s a major sign of trust and bonding. “Headbutting is more accurately referred to as bunting,” Lusvardi explains. "It is a very friendly behavior."
You may be wondering, "Why does my cat headbutt me?" Well, our experts say the reason simple. “Your cat has a bunch of pheromone glands, so your cat is trying to leave their mark on you," Lusvardi shares. Therefore, when your cat headbutts you, they’re reinforcing a social bond and creating a shared scent profile that signals safety and familiarity. After all, pheromone glands produce chemical signals that allow cats to communicate information about themselves to other cats, or in this case, to you. When your cat bunts, they’re not just leaving a scent, but showing trust and claiming you as part of their social circle.
They’re Obsessed with CatnipEveryone knows cats love catnip, but why do cats go crazy for catnip, and what does it actually do? This is one of the most searched and fascinating cat behaviors explained by experts. “If you have a cat that goes crazy for catnip, there's a good reason,” Lusvardi says. “Cats are responding to a class of chemicals called iridoids. These chemicals cause a cat to roll around, purr, drool and rub against everything. Many iridoids act as insect repellents so the behavioral response we see is because the cat is trying to cover themselves in the natural insect repellent.”
In other words, your cat’s dramatic reaction to catnip is rooted in feline biology and natural instincts. Interestingly, cats may respond in similar ways to silver vine, valerian root, honeysuckle, and certain types of wood, as these also contain iridoids that stimulate a comparable sensory response in cat.
They Chatter at BirdsIf you hear your cat making a trilling or rapid clicking sound while staring out the window, you’re witnessing one of the most fascinating cat behaviors. This quirky sound—often described as cat chattering at birds—is a common yet misunderstood part of feline behavior.
So, why do cats chatter at birds? This instinct-driven reaction is linked to your cat’s natural hunting instincts, prey drive, and built-in predator response. Even indoor cats retain these deeply rooted evolutionary feline behaviors, which is why you’ll often notice cat body language signals like tail twitching, intense staring, and crouching alongside the chattering. “The chattering of their teeth, which is a rapid clicking, sometimes with chirping, yowling or hacking sounds, is displayed when a cat is observing their prey, like birds,” says Michelle Bernstein, animal behaviorist at Switch4Good. “This type of behavior is the result of both the excitement of seeing prey with the frustration of not being able to get them.”
Understanding this common cat behavior helps pet owners better interpret their cat’s communication and provide appropriate mental stimulation for indoor cats, such as interactive toys or enrichment activities that mimic hunting.
They Make BiscuitsWhen your cat is “making biscuits,” they’re showing one of the most adorable and common cat behaviors linked to comfort and affection. This cute cat habit is formally known as kneading, and it’s one of the most recognizable forms of cat body language. So, why do cats knead? “This is a behavior that was learned as a kitten when cats would press on their mother's belly to stimulate milk flow," Bernstein explains. "As adults, this behavior continues to signal comfort and relaxed behavior.”
Kneading is often a sign of cat-owner bonding, trust, and emotional attachment, especially when your cat kneads on you, a blanket, or a favorite resting spot. Understanding this cat behavior meaning helps pet parents better interpret their cat’s communication signals and recognize when their feline feels safe and content.
They Don’t Seem to Like Their ToysWhen it comes to cat body language, you may wonder why your cat doesn't like to play with toys. While it’s important to rule out feline health issues that cause a loss of energy, especially if paired with other behavior changes, Lusvardi says the issue is often much simpler. In many cases, owners are misinterpreting their cat’s predatory drive or aren't providing enough environmental enrichment. “Playing should imitate a hunt so your cat may spend time watching a toy without pouncing on it,” he says. “They're still engaged during that time so stopping early can result in frustration.”
You may also not be playing in a way that appeals to your cat. “Cats have terrible near vision so dangling a toy in front of their face is going to be more annoying than fun for them,” he adds. “Try using a different toy, moving the toy differently or changing something else up about how you're playing with them.”
They “Scarf ‘n Barf”What's one common cat behavor that often confuses pet parents? Scarf ’n’ barfing. This is the common term for when a cat vomits undigested food immediately after a mea and it can sometimes signal an underlying medical issue or food allergy. However, in many cases, the cause is behavioral. "If your cat has a history of being underfed or didn’t get enough food as a kitten, the behavior may be due to memories of prior food insecurity,” Lusvardi explains. “More commonly, though, it's because people are feeding their cats incorrectly.”
Offering one or two large meals a day can overwhelm a cat’s digestive system, causing the food to come right back up. “Feeding your cats multiple small meals is less likely to result in this behavior,” he continues. “It can also happen if there’s food insecurity caused by another cat stealing their food. I hate to kill anyone's joy, but videos of cats sharing a bowl usually aren't as heartwarming as they seem because the cats are actually competing for food. Feed your cats separately and, if needed, use technology to help manage mealtimes.”

Bulldog Puppy Spots Mom With Camera and Her Bunny-Hopping Protest Is Adorably Dramatic
You know when someone unexpectedly surprises you with a camera and suddenly you can't remember how to stand or smile like a 'normal' person? That's more or less exactly what happened to Sadie the English bulldog puppy, except she reacted much more dramatically.
There's this TikTok. Sadie's hanging out under a chair, doing puppy stuff, completely unbothered. But then, she spots her mom coming with a camera in hand. Something inside Sadie just lets loose in the most adorable way.
Sadie starts aggressively hopping like a bunny while barking. The entire comedic performance caught on camera.
The adorably comedic video is narrated by Sadie's supposed inner monologue: "God, here she comes with that damn camera again. Just play it cool. Act cool."
@sadiethebulldawgBunny hops #englishbulldogsoftiktok #bulldogsoftiktok #puppytraining #bulldogpuppy
♬ original sound - Rebecca LeeExcept Sadie immediately does the opposite of playing it cool. She's playfully bouncing around like she's got springs for legs and barking complaints. She's making sure everyone is fully aware that this dastardly camera situation is completely unacceptable.
People were losing it in the comments section. Someone called her "Miss Sassy pants," which honestly fits perfectly.
"So CUTE" appeared multiple times. Obviously, aggressively cute bunny-hopping bulldogs are the most ridiculously adorable.
"Spicy," described her personality exactly.
One person took Sadie's side: "Moms… they're so extra!" Fair point. Moms do live for surprise photo ops and playing puparazzi.
Best comment? "Total COOL GIRL Energy!" And it's true—Sadie's trying so hard to act unbothered while being the most bothered creature on earth.
Why Do Bulldog Puppies and Other Dogs React Dramatically to Cameras?Sadie's not just being difficult for difficult's sake. Dogs actually have legit reasons for hating cameras.
Firstly, dogs communicate predominantly through their body language. They see your every move and try to understand what you're doing. When you point a camera in their direction, what are you doing? You're staring. Dogs hate being stared at because, to them, it's a sign of aggression. It's very rude. Staring equals a non-verbal challenge with your eyeballs.
Cameras are noisy and distracting to dogs. Not to humans—we barely even notice the clicks and mechanical sounds. They've become white noise in a loud world. But dogs? Their ears tune in and pick up everything. They can hear sounds we don't even know to listen for. That 'quiet' camera shutter? It could sound like a gunshot to puppy ears.
Plus, cameras just look weird. If you'd never seen one before, it might be seen as this strange and obtrusive object that your human keeps pointing at your face for reasons unknown to you. Suspicious.
Most dogs exhibit their stress in quiet ways—they'll yawn, lick their nose, or turn their head. Sadie decided on a completely different route. She chose violence. Well, adorable bunny-hopping violence with sound effects.
Puppies raised around cameras usually adapt to having their photo taken. They soon figure out that the process is harmless. But Sadie? She's got her beliefs and no one is changing them anytime soon. Cameras are her arch nemesis. Therefore, protest is not only an option but required.

No worries, you can train puppies to be okay with cameras. Start by letting them smell it, giving them treats when they stay calm and never ever using a flash. Eventually, most dogs get comfortable being uncomfortable.
Right now, though? Sadie is committed to leading her bunny-hop rebellion.
Honestly, it's working. She's got thousands of views. Everyone's talking about her and she's basically famous.
Who really played it cooler here? The adorable, bouncing puppy protesting cameras, or all of us who can't stop watching her do it?
Sadie wins. Obviously.
Orange Cat in Adorable Bow Tie Clearly Says 'Thank You' After Compliment
Of the many cats I've had throughout my life, I've only had one Orange Cat, and though she's been gone nearly 10 years, she'll always be my number one. With so much said about the oddities of orange felines, it's easy to forget that each kitty has their own personality that might lean into that narrative—but not always.
Diesel, however, doesn't only lean in; he IS the Orange Cat narrative. There are a slew of examples I can give as to why he's doing an A+ job being orange, but the latest is the sweet way he acknowledges Mom's bow tie compliment.
An Orange Cat hangs on a pillow. Many tangerine-tinted kitties have a lot to say. It's in their nature to use their given gift of gab, and Diesel shows as much, but in a quieter, gracious kind of way.
@dieseldoesnothingHe knows he’s cute 🥰
♬ original sound - Diesel Does NothingFor starters, cats in bow ties (or clothes in general) are way too cute, but second to that, it's Diesel basically saying "thank you" in response to Mom that makes this so great. The dapper little gentleman is little brother to cowboy hat-wearing Tabby, Loki (@thelokishow), who generally likes to steal the spotlight. But this is Diesel's moment to shine, so everyone tell him what a good boy he is now.
Related: Orange Kitten's 'Razzle-Dazzle' Greeting Makes Him the Cutest Gymnast
When I said not all Orange Cats act as though they only have one brain cell, I forgot to note that Diesel is capable of acting very orange. For instance, many cats like drinking fresh water from the faucet, but this funny kitty only thinks he's quenching his thirst.
@dieseldoesnothingHe was so close…
♬ original sound - Diesel Does Nothing How Much Do Cats Understand?Whether Diesel fully gets the magnitude of Mom's compliments (or anything, really) is up for debate. Experts believe cats can understand 25 to 40+ words through association. Things like their name or "treat" are learned from us teaching them to associate the word with something, like a compliment.
“There’s no way to directly understand what they think it means,” Kristiina Wilson, MA, CCBC, owner of Cattitude Adjustment, tells PetMD. "Giving them a choice and giving them the ability to control their surroundings and asking for what they need is super helpful."
I'm sure Diesel knows he looks cute in his bow tie, no matter what Mom says. But it's still cool to think we can have these conversations with our kitties and they can say "thank you" in their own way.

Adorable Scottish Fold Cat’s Lazy Playtime Energy Is Weirdly Intimidating
Not all cats bounce and pounce during playtime; instead, they prefer a slower, more deliberate approach, conserving energy while still asserting dominance. It can be really hilarious to watch, only because by the time you realize they might be serious and not playing, the situation doesn’t change much, making for an even funnier memory.
This video captures aScottish Fold at lazy play, barely moving, as she locks eyes with a gaze of intimidating focus. The contrast between her relaxed body and serious gaze makes the moment oddly powerful. It’s strange, funny, and impossible to ignore.

In this clip, though, we get to see the silly energy Maxi has when she's trying to play or tell her mama that she doesn't want to be bothered while lying down on the kitchen floor. And that's the funny confusion that comes from this clip—we can't tell if she's being lazy during playtime or if the energy she's giving off is supposed to be intimidating, because it is, in some ways.

In the comments, many people shared emojis after watching this clip of a playful Maxi being really silly on the floor while her mom tries to cook.

Scottish Fold Cats Are Known for Being a Little StrangeWe know that Maxi is a little bit odd and strange, in the best way possible. But given how she's trying to look intimidating and play on the floor while lying down, she's definitely known for doing things her way, which is very typical for a Scottish Fold.
According to Highland Titles, Scottish Fold cats love to play and to be around others. They don't do well when they're left on their own, and another thing they're known for is the weird, strange way you may sometimes find them.
The site explains that this cat breed is known for sitting weirdly, either on their backs or in a "Buddha position," which looks like they're sitting on a couch as a person would.
We love when the weirdness about cats comes out, and it's a big reason they're such a popular pet.

Enormous Flemish Giant Rabbit Is Practically the Size of His Dad
Some rabbits are tiny little marshmallow puffs you could tuck into a hoodie pocket and forget about until snack time. And then there are rabbits who look like they should be paying property taxes.
This Flemish Giant Rabbit falls firmly into the second, “Sir, that is a whole livestock situation” category. In a clip shared online, the proud bunny dad lifts up his enormous fluffy gray rabbit like he’s presenting Simba to the kingdom, except Simba never weighed as much as a bowling ball and a Thanksgiving turkey combined. The caption, originally in French, roughly translates to something like, “My big baby. Impossible for me to live without a rabbit at home,” which honestly feels both sweet and slightly threatening in the way giant animals sometimes are. Just check out the size of this thang.

He looks completely unbothered, as if being the size of a medium-sized dog is just a personal lifestyle choice.

When the roof repair guy came to our house and saw my Maine Coon Meatball strolling past, he stopped mid-sentence and asked my husband, “What kind of dog is that?” Sir, that is a cat. A very fluffy cat. A cat who has opinions about drywall dust. So I deeply relate to the confusion here.
Commenters were equally stunned. One person joked, “That’s not a rabbit, that’s the Easter Bunny,” while another asked the important question: “Is it a bunny or a whole dang DOG?” Someone else demanded to know where in the world you even find a rabbit this large, which is fair because I personally assumed rabbits maxed out at “loaf-of-bread” size.
Honestly, he looks like Bugs Bunny if Bugs Bunny discovered protein shakes and leg day. Or like a Victorian gentleman turned into a rabbit by a mildly cursed teapot. I don’t know. My brain freaked the freak out seeing him.
And the calmness! This bunny is so chill! If you tried to pick up one of my cats like this, there would be screaming, claws, and possibly a legal dispute.
How Big Do Flemish Giant Bunnies Get? @kunich.zarenThis is not a dog… it’s a rabbit。#giantbunny#FlemishGiant#bigrabbit#gentlegiant#fluffypet
♬ original sound - Darton ZarenFlemish Giant Rabbits are one of the largest domestic rabbit breeds in the world, and they truly earn that title. Adult Flemish Giants commonly weigh between 15 and 20 pounds, though some can exceed 22 pounds with proper care. The largest one on record weighed over 50 pounds! They can stretch over 2.5 feet long from nose to tail, which is approximately the length of a very suspicious baguette.
Despite their size, they are known as “gentle giants.” Most Flemish Giants are calm, affectionate, and surprisingly patient with handling, which explains how this bunny tolerated being hoisted like a plush trophy.
@sanantonio_aquariumHave you ever seen such a big bunny?! #flemishgiant #flemishgiantrabbit #rabbit #bunny #rabbitsoftiktok #bunnylove #bunnytok #flemishgiantbunny #bigbunny #animals #animalsoftiktok #fyp #viral
♬ Relaxing mornings, Lofi, rain, fashion(1434445) - Tana MusicBecause of their massive build, they require much more space than typical rabbits, along with sturdy enclosures, large litter boxes, and a steady supply of hay. Think less “cute cage pet” and more “small roommate who pays rent in pellets.”
They can also live five to eight years, though some reach 10 years with excellent care. And yes, they can be litter-trained, which is both adorable and deeply humbling as a human.
So if you ever find yourself wondering whether a rabbit can get dog-sized, the answer is apparently yes. And it will still somehow be cuter than you expected. Slightly alarming, but cute.

How Can You Convince Your Pet to Wear Sweaters? As adorable as pets look in clothing, it's not always easy to convince them to wear sweaters, coats, or boots.
I bought a similar sweater for my kitties, who love to be warm, but neither of them likes wearing it despite how fashionable they look in their knitwear.
So how do you get your pet to wear clothing? Experts suggest starting slowly and allowing the dog or cat to sniff the piece you'd like them to try on.
You can also pair getting dressed with treats to make it rewarding for all. Also, be sure that the clothing allows for maximum mobility. If your pet feels uncomfortable, chances are they won't keep the sweater on for a second after you dress them.
We hope this guy gets all the compliments he deserves in this outfit!
This Adorable Black Cat Has a Rare Mutation, and the Internet Can't Believe It
Genetic mutations in cats occur naturally. Some are subtle, such as variations in coat color or fur length. Others are more visible. Polydactyl cats, for example, are born with extra toes due to a well-known genetic mutation. While some traits become standardized in breeds, others remain rare and unpredictable.
That is the case with Dobby, a domestic cat from the common domestic shorthair-type cats. The black domestic cat is currently in a foster home. But what is so special about him is his rare mutation. He was born with four ears instead of two.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jCkQT-QlxpQ
Dobby's case stands out because of how clearly visible the difference is. Cats already rely heavily on their ears to communicate mood. A slight tilt can signal curiosity. Flattened ears can signal fear or irritation. With four ear flaps, Dobby appears permanently expressive.
How the Internet ReactedDobby is currently in foster care in Alabama, being cared for by Kitty Kat Haven and Rescue. In a video showing his beauty, fans were quick to point out that he is just adorable, no matter the extra pair of ears.

One fan commented, "The ears are adorable, the underbite sounds goofy. I wanna adopt this goofy lil' fuzzball sooo MUCH."
Then there were those who commented that this cat now has an advantage. One person said, "THIS CAT blatantly cheating! A feline with double the hearing!"
But most fans commented that he is adorable and gorgeous, and that he is now a TV star.
Do Cats Naturally Have Four Ears?Of course, not. Domestic cats are born with two ears like other mammals. Extra ear flaps are a rare developmental anomaly.
In Dobby's case, while the cat has another pair of ears, the extra flaps do not function. They are simply external tissue growth without inner ear canals.
The science behind his extra pair of ears is a small genetic mutation that altered his tissue growth patterns. In scientific terms, it is known as a congenital developmental anomaly.
Genetic Anomalies in CatsCats are a constant source of joy and quirkiness. While Dobby is a recent example of an anomaly, reports of cats with four ears date back to the 1940s.
Some other anomalies found in cats include extra toes, albinism, taillessness, folded ears, congenital deafness and dwarfism.

Poofy Ragdoll's Winter Coat Is Plushie Princess Perfection
During the brutally cold winter months, cats get something not all pets get: a cool winter coat. My Ragdoll cat, Milo, gets all "poofed-up" once the temperatures dip, making him irresistibly snuggly. Biologically, some of these fancy felines are #blessednotstressed, and honestly, I'm a little jealous.
Carol is another Ragdoll who has one of the fluffiest coats in all the land, and she's sure to be the envy of all who see her—maybe even my cat!

This sweet ball of princess plush is the epitome of peak Ragdoll, with the kind of pretty coat others wish for. Add to that her unique coloring, which makes her blue eyes pop, and she's the purrfect specimen!

Do All Ragdoll Cats Grow Winter Coats? While not all kitties have as drastic or dramatic a winter coat as Carol, it's in their breed's genetics to develop thicker coats in certain seasons. Many experts explain that this process begins in the fall as a dense undercoat starts to come in, and they shed it in the spring to prepare for the heat.
It's kind of awesome if you think about how their bodies just naturally do what's needed to keep them at the best temps!
Ragdoll Cats Like Carol Need Adequate GroomingWhen you're so fly, humans envy your voluminous, luxurious hair; it's going to require some maintenance. You don't want someone as beautiful as Carol to get all knotted up, which can be uncomfortable and may even lead to other issues.
I can attest to this fact, as Milo can become matted to the point of needing a good cut if he's not groomed like clockwork, and let me tell you—those mats in Ragdolls are no joke! He might give us a good laugh with his shaved spots, but I'm sure he's humiliated. As for Carol, it looks like Mom keeps her style fresh enough for a ponytail.

Two Kids Discover Rare Albino Squirrel in Churchyard and Can't Contain Their Excitement
Albino animals are extremely rare in the wild, with some species ranging between one in 20,000 and others to one in one million births. Albinism is caused by a recessive genetic mutation preventing melanin production. These animals are rarely seen.
Yet two young children saw a rare albino squirrel in a churchyard, according to a BBC story. The two children were counting squirrels when what seemed like a slow afternoon kids' game turned into something special.
Albino animals lack melanin, the pigment that gives skin, fur and eyes their color. In mammals, albinism is caused by a genetic mutation that affects melanin production. Without pigment, blood vessels show through the iris, which is why the eyes often appear pink or red. The condition can also affect vision and increase sensitivity to sunlight.
This is not the first time albino squirrels have been spotted in the wild. BBC Wildlife has even filmed a documentary about these unique animals. Check it out below.

How Did the Children React?James, 11, and Jennifer, 8, found the animal at St. Martin's Church in Dorking, Surrey in England. According to their mother, Abigail, James, who is very into animals, was over the moon with his find. She said he loved taking pictures and sending them to their friends and the whole family.
The family was counting squirrels in the churchyard when Jennifer spotted the animals, and her son identified them as albino squirrels. What started as a slow day quickly turned into an exciting adventure for the young children.
But unlike the two young children, most of the people in the yard were not as excited. Abigail said, "I think the people in the churchyard were quite bemused at what we were looking at, but the children were really, really excited, especially my son."
The Challenges of Albino AnimalsThere are different types of albinism. True albinism is white color with pink eyes, and it is extremely rare. Partial albinism, also called leucism, can be found more frequently. In this variation, animals have white fur but dark eyes.
The biggest challenge for albino animals is survival due to their color. Their white fur makes them easy to spot in the wild. Another challenge is that they often suffer from poor eyesight. In some cases, they are even outcasts within their social group.

Shih-Tzu and Toddler Having Ultimate Showdown for Attention Is the Funniest Thing We've Ever Seen
My Pug mix is shameless when it comes to attention. If I'm petting his Dachshund sister or talking to another family member, he literally plops himself down on my lap to break up the interaction and paws at me until I focus on him. Since my Doxie is 15 years old, she's too tired to compete with his antics and is willing to let him have the spotlight.
Mr. Paco the Shih-Tzu wasn't giving up without competing for his mom's attention when his toddler sibling gave him a run for his money.
@mrpacoshihtzuTell me who won without telling me who won 😂 #shihtzulover #shihtzu #babyanddog #miamidog #puppyandbaby
♬ original sound - MR. PACO 😎In the TikTok from @mrpacoshihtzu, a little girl stood in her playpen and was clearly upset. The toddler vocalized her distress in the hopes her mom would come over and take her out of the playpen.
Mr. Paco was lying on the couch in the same room and refused to be outdone. Every time the little girl let out a cry, the Shih-Tzu one-upped her with one of his own.
"POV: Still figuring out who wants attention more," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Tell me who won without telling me who won."
The competition was pretty close. Mr. Paco tried matching the toddler's high-pitched note for high-pitched note. The child caught on to the persistent pooch's strategy and kept raising the vocal bar. Still, Mr. Paco stayed in the attention-getting game and had quite an impressive range.
Winner Is Still UnclearThe video didn't reveal a clear winner in the makeshift contest for attention, but the comical scene entertained followers.
"The fact that he refuses to look over at the toddler, he's like, 'The one who breaks eye contact loses'," one joked.
"I don't know — the baby is winning this one," another remarked.
"I'm sorry, your Shih-Tzu sounds human to me," a follower noted.

Pet Parents Say This $15 'Wine Glass' Dog Toy From Target Survives Even the Toughest Chewers

If your dog treats every toy like it's a personal demolition project, you may have finally found their match.
The Bark Super Chewer Vino Vidi Vici Dog Treat Dispenser Toy is a rubber, wobble-based toy cleverly designed to look like a glass of red wine. It's currently $14.99 at Target, and reviewers say it's as durable as it is amusing.

Bark Super Chewer Vino Vidi Vici Dog Treat Dispenser Toy, $14.99 at TargetTarget
According to the product description, the toy is meant to "transport your pup to the vineyards of tussle-cany." (We see what they did there.) It features a "wacky wobble" base that creates unpredictable movement while dispensing treats or kibble through a top opening.
It's made from tough rubber and designed for aggressive chewers. (It's also backed by Bark's Happiness Guarantee.) And judging by the reviews, it's living up to its promises.

Pet Parents Rave About Its DurabilityOne shopper wrote in a review on the product page, "This toy is fantastic. My pup destroys EVERY toy, even a Kong. We've had this since July… she's been going to town on it for 30+ min with a piece of collagen inside and it's still 100% intact."
Multiple buyers echoed the same sentiment: it survives where other toys fail. Perhaps the most encouraging review reads, "This is the only toy we have ever bought that my dog has not destroyed. It is so good that we bought two, and both are still going strong."
Beyond durability, pet parents love the enrichment factor. You simply add treats or kibble through a hole in the top and let your dog go to work. Because the base wobbles unpredictably, pups have to roll, paw and nudge the "glass" to release their reward.
One reviewer with a pit mix shared, "It's so cute to see her use her little brain to try and get the treats out. A huge success!"
The combination of physical durability and mental challenge is what really sets this toy apart.
Why Mental Stimulation Matters for DogsDogs need mental stimulation just as much as physical exercise. Without it, boredom can lead to destructive behaviors, excessive barking or anxiety.
Puzzle-style toys like this one encourage problem-solving, slow down fast eaters and help burn off energy in a productive way. For high-energy breeds or strong chewers, enrichment tools can be especially helpful in keeping both their minds and mouths occupied.
So if your pup enjoys a challenge—and seems to have the jaw strength of a small alligator—this $15 Target find might just be worth raising a glass to.
Cheers to that!

World's Oldest Manatee Officially Confirmed—and His Name Is Too Cute
For years, zoos and aquariums have tried to preserve some endangered species. There are plenty of benefits of animals living in captivity. For starters, they experience enhanced survival rates due to consistent veterinary care, nutritious diets, and protection from predators.
That might be one of the reasons why Romeo, a manatee living in captivity for more than 50 years, has reached 71 years of age. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, he is now officially the oldest-living manatee ever recorded. While his official age is listed as 71, some experts believe he is actually a few years older, in his mid-70s.
Romeo has been living in the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., where he's known as a laidback, "gentle giant."
His exact birth date is unknown. However, according to estimates, when he was found in the Miami area in 1957, he was described as a "subadult," meaning he was between two and five years old. That means that even at the most conservative estimate, he is at least 71 years old.

Can You See Manatees in the Wild?Manatees can be seen in Florida during the winter months, from November to March. During that period, they gather in warm, inland springs. Their prime gathering locations include Crystal River/Three Sisters Springs, Blue Spring State Park and Manatee Park in Fort Myers. If you want to learn more about these amazing mammals and their life in the wild, check the documentary below.
How Long Do Manatees Live?Romeo was initially known as Big Bull. He came under human care for educational display, living at the Miami Seaquarium. He remained there until 2023.
In the wild, manatees live between 40 and 60 years. However, only a few of them reach the upper range in the wild. Factors such as boat strikes, red tide events, cold stress, habitat loss and more can shorten their lifespan.
However, in captivity, manatees can live to 60 years or more. These massive grey marine mammals reach 10 feet in length and weigh more than 1,000 pounds. Some of them can grow up to 15 feet long and weigh up to 3,000 pounds.
Romeo is a great example of how these sea cows can live longer with proper conditions. Under the Endangered Species Act, manatees are considered threatened, but not endangered. The biggest challenge is starvation caused by pollution, habitat loss and boat collisions.

Golden Retriever Puppy’s First Walk Shows What Pure Joy Looks Like
There are happy moments in life… and then there is a Golden Retriever puppy discovering outside for the very first time. Grass! Leaves! Suspicious twigs! The overwhelming realization that the world is basically one giant snack buffet with tons of junk to explore. George, a fluffy baby Golden Retriever with zero street smarts and max enthusiasm, stepped out for his first official walk and immediately chose chaos in the most wholesome way possible.
He runs, he sniffs, he attempts to eat several nonfood items, and at one point looks so proud of himself you would think he personally invented sidewalks. My Pomeranian Kingston’s first walk consisted mostly of freezing in place and trembling like a decorative lawn ornament, and to this day, he gets exhausted walking half a block and demands to be carried. George is much better at this walking thing! Just check out this little baby.

He had no idea what he was doing, ate everything in sight, but was so happy!” which is basically the puppy version of a toddler on a sugar high loose in a grocery store. Viewers adored his curiosity, his goofy smile, and the way he slowly ran out of battery by the end. I was exhausted just watching him. One commenter summed it up perfectly with: “Look how curious he was exploring everything and how exhausted he was at the end.” Another wrote, “He’s smiling,” which, yes, he absolutely is, in that floofy and goofy Golden Retriever way that makes you forgive everything, including attempting to eat leaves.

Should You Wait Until Your Puppy Is Vaccinated Before Taking Them Out? @pawsacademydogsCan your puppy go outside at eight weeks. Here is what is actually safe and what is not. Most owners get this part completely wrong and it affects socialisation for life. #puppytrainingtips #newpuppyadvice #puppysocialisation
♬ original sound - Paws Academy | Dog TrainerMany veterinarians recommend limiting outdoor exposure until puppies are fully vaccinated because their immune systems are still developing. They are just babies! Public areas can harbor viruses like parvovirus and distemper, which spread easily through contaminated soil, water, or contact with other animals.
Controlled environments, such as your own yard or clean sidewalks, are often considered safer early on. Your vet can give guidance based on your puppy’s vaccination schedule, local risk levels, and overall health.
Should You Use a Leash or a Harness? Black German Shepherd puppy in a harness outside.Image Via: Henry leo/Shutterstock
Some people were worried about George wearing a leash attached to a collar rather than a harness. Both can be appropriate, but many trainers recommend harnesses for puppies because they distribute pressure across the chest instead of the neck.
Harnesses can reduce the risk of injury if a puppy pulls suddenly, lunges toward something exciting, or performs an enthusiastic leaf dive. However, properly fitted collars are still widely used, especially for calm walkers or brief outings. The best choice often depends on your dog’s size, temperament, and training stage, and sometimes just what they will tolerate without rolling dramatically onto their back in protest.

Blind Dachshund Waits by the Door for His Brother To Come Back From the Vet and We're Crying
Though dogs love all their siblings (most of the time), sometimes they have a favorite (as do humans).
We see that in a new video from the fashion, lifestyle, and dog mom influencer, Halley Kate
Kate is the proud mom of now four Dachshunds—she adopted her fourth Dachshund, Roxy, at the end of last year.
Her other Dachshunds are Oslo, Finnley, and Rusty, her blind Dachshund.
She adopted him last year when she saw a video about him and flew the next day to get him.
And now, as the mom of four Dachshunds, things can get a little crazy, but also very sweet.
In this video, Kate tells the viewers that her assistant had to take Oslo to the vet quickly to get his nails trimmed, and Rusty is not handling it well.
Maybe it's because they are both boys, but Rusty misses his brother a lot when he leaves.
She explained that Oslo has only been gone for 15 minutes, and Rusty has parked himself in front of the door to wait for his brother.
"He's just standing, waiting for Oslo to come back. He loves him so much! You looove him!" she says to the viewers and Rusty.
Kate points out that there are two other dogs right there for him to play with, but he wants his Oslo.
Cut to Oslo returning to the homestead, and a very happy Rusty following him around.
Oslo seems happy to be back home, basking in all of his dog siblings' love.
Plus, anything is better than getting your nails trimmed at the vet!

♬ original sound - halley How To Keep Your Blind Dog SafeIt seems like Rusty is living his best life and is very safe and happy, but here are a few tips for keeping a blind dog safe in your home.
- Keep your furniture consistent so the dog is familiar with the layout and won't bump into things. If there are certain unsafe areas in your home, you must gate them off.
- When you take them on walks, keep them on a leash and take them to familiar areas.
- Use verbal cues as well as positive reinforcement to train them and keep in communication with them consistently.

English Cream Golden Retriever Protecting Bird Baby From Cat Is Looney Tunes-Worthy
While Golden Retrievers aren't exactly known for being guard dogs, they can be very protective of what and who they love. That includes their favorite humans, as long as the other pets in the household... and apparently, that protection extends to baby birds, too.
That might just be true where this particular Golden Retriever is concerned, though. He's ready to do whatever it takes to make sure the babies are safe — even from his own cat!

There's a baby bird on the couch, and when the cat, Kevin, starts to mess with her a little too much, he just had to step in to keep the baby safe.
Of course, living on a farm, there's a good chance that Dojo is better versed in handling all types and all sizes of animals than many dogs who don't live with other creatures, but it's still impressive to see how gentle he is around a bird who is so much smaller!
One inch further with that paw and I have a feeling Kevin will be having some major regrets...

Don't worry — it's not all serious body guard business for Dojo when it comes to the baby birds. He seems to be spending plenty of his downtime bonding with his tiny feathered house guests, too.
