In an ironic twist, an anxious-looking Dachshund has become an emotional support dog for an appreciative pet parent.

“Everyone, meet Beans,” the pup’s parent says in an adorable TikTok introduction. “I got her for emotional support. Now we share the anxiety.”

Fans can’t get enough of this furry little gal, but were quite perplexed by the selection of a Dachshund for emotional support!

Viewers familiar with the breed questioned the choice.

“A Dachshund? For emotional support?” wrote one viewer. “They’re one loud noise away from shivering themselves into another dimension.”

"She’s like, 'I’m kinda worried, are YOU worried?'" added another.

“Now get her an emotional support dog,” chimed in a third person.

While Beans’ pet parent recognizes the irony, they went on to explain how important it is to have a loving, understanding companion to help them navigate life’s challenges.

”Having a dog can be a transformative experience, especially for those struggling with anxiety. In my case, I welcomed a Dachshund named Beans into my life on the recommendation of friends who suggested getting a dog for emotional support. Although they didn’t specify a breed, Beans has quickly become my essential companion. Beans has not only filled my home with joy but also provided me with comfort during challenging times. The bond we share is profound; it’s a mutual understanding of support. When I look into her eyes, I see more than just a pet; I see a friend who understands my anxieties.”

Beans’ pet parent isn’t the only one recognizing the emotional support power of a Dachshund.

Having only been adopted toward the end of 2025, Huckleberry's still settling into his forever home. Learning sign language is new for both him and Mom, but so far, they're crushing it!

As she explained, going "outside" was one of the first signs the deaf cat learned and understood, and he loves taking nature walks where he can explore all the cool scents. Now, the two "talk" as if the kitty can hear and comprehend like a human!

Highland Cows, even mini ones, are still livestock and need proper space to roam and graze. A standard recommendation is at least 3 to 3 acres per cow, depending on pasture quality and climate. Mini Highland Cows may require slightly less, but they still need enough room for exercise and access to fresh grass.

I adopted my Dachshund when she was almost two years old, and my Pug mix when he was one. They both had the playfulness of a puppy but were a little more mature, especially when it came to teething and potty training. My Dachshund is now 15 and has grayed quite a bit, but she's still a stunner. Her 8-year-old Pug brother has also kept his youthful looks, though I'm sure he's a tad thicker around the middle. Though I doubt they look drastically different, I wish I could've seen them as puppies.

In the TikTok from @oreo.boyboy, the dapper Doxie quietly sat in his dog bed as the camera moved in for a close-up. The onscreen text posed the question: "What did he look like as a puppy?"

While there was clearly some gray and white fur on Oreo's muzzle, he still had a young look. The next clip revealed Oreo's picture as a puppy, where the precious pooch seemed very similar to his current appearance. Though his fur was a little darker in the photo, the Dachshund's likeness from puppyhood to today had barely changed.

Followers noted Oreo's age-defying presence and even compared him to the famous film character, Benjamin Button, who aged in reverse.

"Why does oreo look more puppy now then when he was a puppy?" one asked.

"He is just entering his 2nd puppy stage," another pointed out.

"The Curious Case of Oreo Boyboy (2026)," a follower highlighted.

"Did he ever look like an adult Dachshund?" someone posted.

"Oh my gosh, he's such a baby!!" a fan gushed.

When Do Dachshunds Start Graying?

Dachshunds tend to maintain their coat color longer than larger-sized dogs. I started to notice my Doxie getting gray around the muzzle at about 7 years old.

Turns out, that is typical timing — standard dachshunds usually show some gray hairs between 5 and 7 years old. Miniature dachshunds may reach 6 to 8 years before showing signs of gray since they're smaller and have a longer lifespan.

Gray or white fur on long-haired Dachshunds is often hidden and goes unnoticed until it's more widespread. The graying process for Dachshunds gradually begins around the muzzle, slowly reaching the ears and brows. Regardless, these canine cuties are beautiful at any age.

Some cats are always up for an adventure, whether that means hopping on a boat, hiking through the woods, or tagging along with their pet parents while running errands. But for an Icelandic cat named Volvo, independence has reached a whole new level.

The gorgeous Norwegian Forest Cat mix has become something of a local legend, casually stopping into neighborhood shops and eateries and settling in as if he’s reporting for his daily “shift.” Sometimes, though, his workday runs a little long. On occasion, he ends up inside a shop after closing time, unintentionally locked in, but he takes on the overnight watch like a true professional.

Although he may have been locked in the store overnight, Volvo doesn’t seem worried about it one bit. He’s perched on top of a stack of cozy blankets, taking in the world outside. He sits there so perfectly that he almost doesn’t look real at first glance.

While his mom tried to pick him up before work the next morning, the store was still closed. That didn’t bother Volvo at all. Instead, he simply headed over to a nearby pita shop to start his “day shift,” holding down the fort until his mom was able to scoop him up later that afternoon.

For anyone wondering, Volvo’s mom was quick to reassure fans that he’s always well cared for. Shopkeepers keep food and a litter box on hand, so even if his shift runs overnight, this hardworking cat is perfectly safe and comfortable.

Viewer @punita_iyengar asked, “Please share his story. How did he become a for-hire cat?” His mom replied, “He just decided that himself. When we got him, he was supposed to be an indoor cat hahaha. He was having none of that. That’s why we always have to collect him at night. He can’t get into our apartment by himself, only out.”

Others were just as charmed. Someone else added, “Best Iceland tourism account ever. I want to come to Iceland just to meet Volvo!”

Dom the Shepherd had never seen snow before. But that all changed when snowstorms blanketed most of the United States, and the young Maryland-based pup was treated to his very first snow day. His adorable, though slightly chaotic, reaction was documented and shared on his TikTok account by his parents.

The footage opens with Dom taking off into the snow-blanketed yard like a horse coming out of the gates racing for the win. His zoomies take over, and before anyone knows it, he's plowing into the white fluff, jumping over mounds of snow, only to be momentarily paused by sinking into a hole. However, it didn't stop Dom for long. It was truly more of a minor inconvenience.

His owners wrote on TikTok, "As soon as he stepped into the white, fluffy wonderland, something seemed to click in him—he transformed into a bundle of joy, displaying delightful snow zoomies. It's as if the snow activated a play button that we can't turn off!" They conclude that he is now "part reindeer, part rocket."

I don't think there has ever been a more accurate description of a German Shepherd in the snow. Our pup was about 2 years old when he first experienced the snow, and while we didn't get nearly as much as Dom's parents did, he had just as much fun.

Other GSD parents chimed in in the comments, confirming that their little fur missiles love the fluffy white stuff just as much as Dom, and that many of them get the zoomies as well. One writes, "My 7-month female GSD absolutely loses her mind in the snow." Dom's parents replied, saying, "Dom loves it. He just waits at the door, crying, wanting to go back out."

That sounds accurate. While nothing can replace that first snow feeling, something tells me Dom will be having many more magical days in the snow now that he knows just how cool it is.

"Cats don’t communicate in quite the same way humans do, so learning their language can be incredibly helpful for understanding your cat’s needs, their mood and how to strengthen the bond you share," states Dr. Victoria Carmella, DVM, a veterinary advisor at Pet Honesty.

1. They eye pat their owners

If your cat prefers this lol-worthy communication strategy, you may not need a fancy new alarm clock (sorry, Hatch enthusiasts). The eye pat is one of the cutest ways cats talk to their owners that many people miss as communication. Though, when your cat softly taps your closed eyelids with a paw, they’re sending a very clear message and letting you know it’s time to wake up. They aren't just pawing you because they are bored.

"When you’re sleeping, but your cat wants you to wake up, perhaps to fill their food bowl, you may feel a soft paw touch your closed eyelids," Dr. Hunt states. "This is your cat’s way of saying that your eyes should open and you should wake up now."

However, eye pat is much more than a wake-up call—it’s a playful, affectionate signal that your cat trusts you and wants to interact on their own terms.

2. They tail whop

A cat's tail can certainly tell a tale about how they're feeling. Dr. Hunt reports that you'll notice this funny way cats talk to their owners if your pet wraps their tail around your leg or hits you in the face with it. This quirky behavior is more than playful, it’s your cat’s way of sending a clear message. Basically, every swish, wrap, or whop is a small and meaningful way your cat “talks” to you, showing that they are content.

"If your cat licks your skin or hair, this is a sign of a close-knit relationship and perhaps love," Dr. Hunt states. "Cats mutually groom only their very close, friendly cats, so if your cat is grooming you, this is high praise." In fact, she adds that it’s your cat’s way of saying, “I care about you,” in the language only cats truly speak.

4. The bring you gifts

Playful, loving dogs often bring toys to their favorite humans. However, dogs don't have "exclusive rights" to the gift-giving communication method. That said, cats have their own unique twist on this gift-giving behavior. So, why do cats bring you gifts?

"When your cat brings you dead or maimed prey as a gift, it is communicating that it cares for you enough to either bring you food or to bring you injured prey to teach you how to hunt for yourself," Dr. Hunt states. "Either way, the provision of these gifts indicates that your cat cares for you."

These items may not always be glamorous, but they are a meaningful demonstration of your cat’s affection and trust. When you notice your cat is doing this, it's their way of telling you they feel like part of the family.

Wally the Golden is back and sadder than ever. And while it might seem unkind that TikTok viewers are laughing at his expense, Wally's unfounded sorrow is so dramatic that it's objectively hilarious.

In this latest video, Wally's mom lays out the "3 things that made [her] overly emotionally Golden Retriever sad this week." She's not talking about major life changes, however. The big reveal of what's got her dog so down is not what we expected.

The first thing that sent Wally on his downward spiral was the fact that his favorite toy was ruined -- by his own doing. He ripped it up while playing with it, as dogs do, and then had to be comforted by his dad as if the toy had been a living, breathing creature.

The second very sad thing was when his dad went outside to use the snow blower to plow the driveway. Wally was in the depths of despair, concerned that the evil machine would take his dad away for good instead of for the hour it took for him to clear the snow.

And the third and final thing that caused Wally to succumb to a depression was the fancy, automatic water bowl that his mom just purchased for him. What was supposed to add value to his life (a constant flow of fresh water!) only causes him deep emotional turmoil.

My two dogs love each other, yet like most siblings, they have their share of disagreements. When my senior Dachshund wants her alone time, but her Pug brother doesn't pick up on her social cues, she quickly puts him in his place. The drive over seemed a bit tense, where the two dogs made no eye contact. Frankie and Rambo sat in their car seats as their mom tried giving them a pep talk.

When she's not interacting with the neighborhood kids via screeching, Ayla can typically be found inside with mom. At 21 years old, she's still very young, but she's an old lady at heart.

Cockatoos and Kids Can Be Tricky

Ayla has heard the neighborhood kids screaming, sure, but she's never actually interacted with them. She really doesn't have much exposure to kids, but it's not impossible. Cockatoos and kids can live together if:

• You're there to supervise.
• The kids are a little older.
• The child understands the bird's boundaries.
• The child is old enough not to stick their hands in their mouth after handling the bird.

Cockatoos are very loud, and it's going to be next to impossible to soundproof their area completely. If you have young kids, you might have trouble with the bird waking them up! Not Ayla, though: if she met kids, she'd just tell them she loved them!

Dachshunds are going through it this winter!

In this record cold and snowy winter for much of the country, we have seen Dachshunds struggling to walk in snow boots and layered up with so many jackets and wraps that they can barely walk (or have any peripheral vision).

So, it is refreshing when we just get to see a Dachshund having some plain old winter fun in this tough weather.

We got to see that in this new video from the account @omelettedefromage of Wendy, the adorable short-haired Dachshund, walking on ice. Because it's so slippery, she almost looks as if she is moonwalking!

First, we see the little dog in a cute red jacket on a sheet of ice covered in snow, and then the classic beat of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" comes in.

Wendy does appear to be moonwalking and seems to have a perfect beat!

Though this is a very entertaining video of a dog not wearing boots in the snow, we have to ask: Do dogs need to wear snowshoes in the winter?

You often see pups wearing them in the colder months, and many don't seem very comfortable.

However, the shoes can be beneficial for protecting their paws from frostbite and cuts.

OK, no problem,” and immediately leans down to kiss the little nose poking out of her sleeve. She slips him a treat without missing a beat. Then, a moment later, “Oh! Jump after jump after jump, Kilo gives it his absolute all. But those adorably short legs and that chunky puppy belly just won't cooperate with his ambitious rescue operation.
