Irony Alert: Emotional Support Dachshund Has Anxiety
In an ironic twist, an anxious-looking Dachshund has become an emotional support dog for an appreciative pet parent.
“Everyone, meet Beans,” the pup’s parent says in an adorable TikTok introduction. “I got her for emotional support. Now we share the anxiety.”
Fans can’t get enough of this furry little gal, but were quite perplexed by the selection of a Dachshund for emotional support!

Viewers familiar with the breed questioned the choice.
“A Dachshund? For emotional support?” wrote one viewer. “They’re one loud noise away from shivering themselves into another dimension.”
"She’s like, 'I’m kinda worried, are YOU worried?'" added another.
“Now get her an emotional support dog,” chimed in a third person.

While Beans’ pet parent recognizes the irony, they went on to explain how important it is to have a loving, understanding companion to help them navigate life’s challenges.
”Having a dog can be a transformative experience, especially for those struggling with anxiety. In my case, I welcomed a Dachshund named Beans into my life on the recommendation of friends who suggested getting a dog for emotional support. Although they didn’t specify a breed, Beans has quickly become my essential companion. Beans has not only filled my home with joy but also provided me with comfort during challenging times. The bond we share is profound; it’s a mutual understanding of support. When I look into her eyes, I see more than just a pet; I see a friend who understands my anxieties.”
Beans’ pet parent isn’t the only one recognizing the emotional support power of a Dachshund.
“I also got a Dachshund for my anxiety,” said a fan. “I had her for 12 years, and she DID help because I spent so much time telling her everything was fine that I started to believe it a little, too.”
Aw, we love the power of positive affirmation.
Are Dachshunds Good Emotional Support Dogs?Loyal and loving, Dachshunds are actually very good emotional support pets! Their propensity for affection makes them brilliant emotional support animals and great service dogs for those with health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
We think Beans is the best, and we're happy that she’s been a rock of support for her pet parent.
Bernese Mountain Dog Dad Checking in on His New Puppies Is Pure Sweetness
Some dogs ignore their puppies. This Bernese Mountain Dog dad? He's an active participant in fatherhood.
A viral TikTok from Blissful.berners shows a gentle giant popping his head over the puppy pen to check in on his babies, and the tender moment has the internet experiencing emotional overload. Posted with the caption "Dad checking in! 🐶," and text reading, "Dad checking in on his puppies!" the video captures papa Berner peering lovingly at his litter.
The sweet scene shows the massive tricolor dog carefully positioning himself at the pen's edge, looking down at his tiny puppies with what can only be described as pure tenderness. No aggression, no indifference—just a dad making sure everyone's okay.

♬ Maple Tree - Paul Alan MorrisThe comment section couldn't handle the cuteness. "This is so cute it's infuriating. I'm furious right now," declared one overwhelmed viewer, perfectly capturing the emotional chaos this video creates.
"Don't you dare separate them," demanded another commenter, clearly invested in keeping this family together.
The admiration poured in for this attentive father. "He's a proud and lovely dad! 💛👍👏" praised one fan, while another simply noted, "So cute, good dad."
"Too cute 😍" gushed another viewer.
Do Father Dogs Recognize Their Own Puppies? This dad's affectionate behavior is actually quite special. Male dogs generally don't recognize their own puppies specifically, lacking the paternal instincts that mother dogs possess. Their protective feelings toward young pups tend to be generalized—they recognize puppies as immature pack members rather than identifying them as their offspring.
Related: Goldendoodle's Gentle Kindness Toward Rescued Stray Dog Will Warm Any Heart
Father dogs' reactions to puppies vary widely, ranging from indifference (the most common response) to jealousy, and rarely, genuine affection. Some males act rough or aggressive around puppies, which is why experts recommend keeping father dogs away from litters for the first 20 days and supervising early interactions carefully.
When a father dog does show affection toward puppies—cuddling, cleaning or gently checking in like this Bernese dad—it's likely a reflection of the dog's naturally empathetic and loving personality rather than specific paternal recognition.

Deaf Cat Learning and Understanding Sign Language Will Have You in Your Feelings
Pets have a way of showing us they're capable of so much more than they're often given credit for. Their intelligence can't exactly be measured in the ways a human kid's can, but given some kind of challenge or obstacle in their path, and they're ready for the spotlight to show us how it's done!
If you were to ask deaf cat Huckleberry what his greatest strengths are, he might not hear you, but he'll do you one better—he'll show you! This supersmart kitty is learning how to communicate with Mom through sign language, and it's the most impressive thing you'll see this week!
A Persian cat relaxes on the bed. Before you try to find an explanation for Huckleberry and Mom's conversations, it's best if you just take a look. Not only does the sweet kitty know what she's saying, but he answers back through action. Consider this your inspiration for the year!

Huckleberry's quite the performer, and it's not a one-video kind of thing. This is his everyday life as he learns new words and ways to communicate each day. Major props to Mom for having the patience and compassion to take the time to teach him so the deaf angel can live the rest of his days happy, healthy, and "hearing" in a whole new way.
@huckleberry.cant.hearTell me again how I won’t be able to teach my deaf cat how to talk with buttons 💁🏼♀️🤯 Not sponsored but lots of tube treats from @INABA Churu ANZ @Pretty Wild 🐱 @Delectables Cat Treats were used in the making of this video 🤣🤤 #cattraining #deafcat #cat #viral #cattok
♬ delulu - NESYA White Cats Are More Likely To Have These TraitsBeing a gorgeous white cat comes with a few risks. Due to a dominant W gene that masks all the other colors, white felines with two blue eyes are more likely to have some level of deafness (65% to 80% more likely). Those with non-blue eyes still carry a 20% (or higher) risk of having deafness in one or both ears, as the gene is linked to inner-ear development.
White kitties (and dogs) also have a significantly higher likelihood of having heterochromia—two different-colored eyes, as you can see in Huckleberry.
The fact that a deaf cat can learn and understand sign language is pretty remarkable if you think about it. What's next for Huckleberry and his deaf cat buds—driving? Never say never!

Fluffy Mini Highland Cow in Bows Is the Only Valentine We Need
A fluffy Mini Highland Cow named Sugar Plum is redefining Valentine's Day energy in the most wholesome way possible. With her shaggy coat, soft expression, and a pale pink bow perched perfectly on her head, this Highland Calf looks like she walked straight out of a storybook.
In the clip, Sugar Plum wears a wreath of tulips around her neck while standing there, looking impossibly sweet. The contrast of her thick, fluffy coat against the soft pink accessories makes the whole scene feel like a greeting card that came to life. We heart you, Sugar Plum!

♬ Flowers - SoundAudioThe video was shared by @highlandsoftheheartland_, and Sugar Plum does not have to do anything dramatic. She simply exists in bows and flowers and somehow manages to look both regal and cuddle-ready at the same time.
Comments flooded in immediately. “OMG, precious baby.” “This is the cutest thing I’ve seen all week.” “This might be the cutest animal ever.” One person joked, “I’ll take five, please,” which feels ambitious but relatable; like I would also like five, too.

Another wrote, “In another life, I had a farm because all I want are cows, chickens, and goats.” Same. Deeply same.
Someone even said, “Thank you for looking after her for me. Can I have her back now, please? Thank you.” Clearly joking, but honestly, the attachment is understandable.
And then there was the very practical dreamer who commented, “I want a Highland Cow so badly, but I do think I have enough room for one.” I want one, too. Truly. But my three cats, our dog, and our small yard would probably have some serious objections.
Still, if Valentine’s Day required one official mascot, Sugar Plum would be it.

14-Year-Old Dachshund Looks the Same as His Puppy Picture and We Want His Anti-Aging Secret
I adopted my Dachshund when she was almost two years old, and my Pug mix when he was one. They both had the playfulness of a puppy but were a little more mature, especially when it came to teething and potty training. My Dachshund is now 15 and has grayed quite a bit, but she's still a stunner. Her 8-year-old Pug brother has also kept his youthful looks, though I'm sure he's a tad thicker around the middle. Though I doubt they look drastically different, I wish I could've seen them as puppies.
Oreo the 14-year-old Dachshund must have been drinking from the Fountain of Youth because he still resembles his puppyhood photo.

♬ original sound - 🗿In the TikTok from @oreo.boyboy, the dapper Doxie quietly sat in his dog bed as the camera moved in for a close-up. The onscreen text posed the question: "What did he look like as a puppy?"
While there was clearly some gray and white fur on Oreo's muzzle, he still had a young look. The next clip revealed Oreo's picture as a puppy, where the precious pooch seemed very similar to his current appearance. Though his fur was a little darker in the photo, the Dachshund's likeness from puppyhood to today had barely changed.
Followers noted Oreo's age-defying presence and even compared him to the famous film character, Benjamin Button, who aged in reverse.
"Why does oreo look more puppy now then when he was a puppy?" one asked.
"He is just entering his 2nd puppy stage," another pointed out.
"The Curious Case of Oreo Boyboy (2026)," a follower highlighted.
"Did he ever look like an adult Dachshund?" someone posted.
"Oh my gosh, he's such a baby!!" a fan gushed.
When Do Dachshunds Start Graying?Dachshunds tend to maintain their coat color longer than larger-sized dogs. I started to notice my Doxie getting gray around the muzzle at about 7 years old.
Turns out, that is typical timing — standard dachshunds usually show some gray hairs between 5 and 7 years old. Miniature dachshunds may reach 6 to 8 years before showing signs of gray since they're smaller and have a longer lifespan.

Gray or white fur on long-haired Dachshunds is often hidden and goes unnoticed until it's more widespread. The graying process for Dachshunds gradually begins around the muzzle, slowly reaching the ears and brows. Regardless, these canine cuties are beautiful at any age.
Even though he's a bit of a silver fox around the snout, Oreo still looks like a pup.

Friendly Icelandic Cat Treats Local Shops Like a Second Home
Some cats are always up for an adventure, whether that means hopping on a boat, hiking through the woods, or tagging along with their pet parents while running errands. But for an Icelandic cat named Volvo, independence has reached a whole new level.
The gorgeous Norwegian Forest Cat mix has become something of a local legend, casually stopping into neighborhood shops and eateries and settling in as if he’s reporting for his daily “shift.” Sometimes, though, his workday runs a little long. On occasion, he ends up inside a shop after closing time, unintentionally locked in, but he takes on the overnight watch like a true professional.
In an Instagram shared by @volvo_the_cat on February 3, you can see him on the night shift.
View this post on InstagramAlthough he may have been locked in the store overnight, Volvo doesn’t seem worried about it one bit. He’s perched on top of a stack of cozy blankets, taking in the world outside. He sits there so perfectly that he almost doesn’t look real at first glance.

While his mom tried to pick him up before work the next morning, the store was still closed. That didn’t bother Volvo at all. Instead, he simply headed over to a nearby pita shop to start his “day shift,” holding down the fort until his mom was able to scoop him up later that afternoon.
Volvo the Cat’s Overnight Shift Had Viewers Asking QuestionsFor anyone wondering, Volvo’s mom was quick to reassure fans that he’s always well cared for. Shopkeepers keep food and a litter box on hand, so even if his shift runs overnight, this hardworking cat is perfectly safe and comfortable.
Viewer @punita_iyengar asked, “Please share his story. How did he become a for-hire cat?” His mom replied, “He just decided that himself. When we got him, he was supposed to be an indoor cat hahaha. He was having none of that. That’s why we always have to collect him at night. He can’t get into our apartment by himself, only out.”
Others were just as charmed. Someone else added, “Best Iceland tourism account ever. I want to come to Iceland just to meet Volvo!”
And if you’re still curious, an earlier video shared on November 25 offers even more insight into his daily routine.

7 Bunny Breeds That Act Like Dogs and Cats, Says a Vet
Welcoming any new animal into your home is a big deal, but bunnies offer something a little special. These floppy-eared pets are total sweeties who will quickly hop their way into your heart. If you don’t have a lot of experience with rabbits, it’s fair to wonder if a bunny breed that acts like a dog or cat will be more your speed. After all, if you already have experience with those animals, making the transition to a cat-bunny or dog-bunny might feel a little more seamless as these pet rabbits often share familiar traits like loyalty, playfulness, or independence. To help you out, we rounded up 7 bunny breeds that act like dogs and cat, according to a vet.
While rabbits aren’t as common of a pet as a dog, cat, or even fish, they still have plenty to offer if you decide to become a pet parent to one. “Rabbits are the ‘hidden gems’ within the world of companion animals,” says Aimee Warner, DVM, resident veterinarian at Waggel. “They have a great deal of personality, which is not always recognized.”
But while you’re shopping around for your perfect rabbit breed, Warner suggests taking a beat to think about where your bunny will hang out to make sure you home is rabbit-ready. “Because of their energy and social nature, they need more space than a typical rabbit hutch can provide,” she says. “Consider keeping them as ‘house bunnies,’ so they have plenty of room to stretch their legs and display their personalities.” If you feel like you have the space for them and you're ready to dive into bunny parenthood, but want a rabbit that is similar to a dog or cat, consider one of these popular pet rabbits from our list. Trust us, you’ll find them to be completely ear-ristible!

Bunny Breeds That Act like Dogs and CatsSome bunny breeds are surprisingly social and affectionate, often behaving more like dogs or cats than typical rabbits. These rabbits bond closely with their humans, showing loyalty, curiosity, and a love for attention and cuddles. If you’re searching for pet rabbits with personality, these dog-like and cat-like bunny breeds are sure to win your heart.
Lionhead A fluffy bunny that looks like a cat.The Lionhead’s name doesn’t come out of nowhere: this adorable rabbit breed sports a fluffy mane around its head that makes it look just like a tiny lion, giving it a wild, feline-inspired appearance. But this little lion is more than just its mane. “If you are looking for a rabbit with a cat-like temperament, then the Lionhead is the breed for you,” Warner says. “These rabbits are very particular and aloof, like a cat."
Lionheads are smart and often prefer that you wait until they decide you’re worthy of their affection. Once trust is earned, they will show love on their own terms—sometimes following you around the house to see what you’re up to, just like a curious feline. Their grooming habits are also very cat-like, as the mane requires regular attention, giving owners a feline-style bonding experience.
Because of their calm and independent nature, Lionheads are ideal for people looking for a relaxed, low-maintenance pet or those who live in apartments or smaller spaces. Much like an apartment cat, they enjoy observing their surroundings, quietly exploring and showing affection on their own schedule. They don’t require a huge area to roam either, and their selective, cat-like attention makes them perfect for owners who want a feline-style companion in a cozy space.
Mini Lop A playful bunny bunny eating grass. The Mini Lop has a stocky, compact build, making it irresistibly adorable to look at and interact with. But this rabbit breed is also known for its affectionate, loyal nature—earning comparisons to Golden Retrievers. These dog-like rabbits also love attention and enjoy being part of the family.
Mini Lops are generally laid-back and very smart pets as well. Plus, this interactive, trainable rabbit can learn tricks, use a litter box like a cat, and even come when called by name. With their mix of dog-like devotion and cat-like trainability, there’s plenty of fun and bonding to be had with your Mini Lop, making them amazing pets to have.

Netherland Dwarf A small and adorable pet bunny. When it comes to bunnies that act like cats, our experts says the Netherland Dwarf is one to keep in mind. As their name suggests, this tiny pet rabbit is small and compact, but don’t be fooled by their size—they have a true cat-like personality. Netherland Dwarfs can be shy or skittish at first, so they usually prefer observing from the sidelines rather than being picked up, just like many cats.
Despite their petite size, these smart, interactive rabbits are full of curiosity, making playtime and bonding sessions fun for both you and your bunny. They can also be trained to use a litter box, just like a cat, which adds to their independent, cat-like charm.
Mini Rex A spotted dog-llike rabbit outside. If you’re looking for an affectionate rabbit, the Mini Rex is a perfect choice. With its plush, velvety coat, this adorable rabbit breed is usually happy to be petted. “Mini Rexes are often referred to as the ‘dogs’ of the rabbit world because of their playfulness and energy,” Warner says. Like a loyal pup, they may follow you around or nudge you for attention, showing a dog-like desire to interact and bond with their humans.
Mini Rexes also like to play with toys, similar to a pooch. “They are one of the few dog-like bunny breeds that will actually ‘fetch’ or throw toys to get a reaction from their human friends,” Warner says. At the same time, their independent streak—sometimes pausing to groom themselves or explore quietly—shows a cat-like side, making them a well-rounded, interactive, dog-like rabbit you can bring into your home.
Overall, they thrive in homes where they get attention and mental stimulationmaking them perfect for pet parents who want a sweet pet alternative to a dog or cat.
Dutch A cat-like bunny in a field of flowers. The Dutch rabbit is a perfect mix of dog-like and cat-like traits in a bunny. Dutch rabbits are also known for being calm, curious and love forming strong bonds with their owners, making them affectionate, social bunnies. They’re also smart little learners and can be litter-trained like a cat, adding to its interactive, dog-and-cat-like charm. It's no wonder the Dutch is one of the most popular pet rabbits in the United States.

"This droopy-eared sweetie is laid-back and easygoing," Warner points out. The Holland Lop, a popular rabbit breed, is known for being affectionate and social, much like dogs. “They are most likely to jump up onto the couch and snuggle up close to you while you are watching T.V.,” she says. “This need for affection is extremely dog-like.”
This bunny breed that acts like a dog is also one of the five most popular pet rabbits in the U.S., as these adorable animals have a compact built, large head and signature droopy ears. “Their droopy ears only add to their puppy-like, interactive appearance, making them all the more lovable,” Warner adds.
Flemish Giant A rabbit the size of a small dog laying down.Getty Images Stanislavs Vasilkovs
Want a bunny that rivals the size of a small dog? Meet the Flemish Giant, one of the most iconic rabbit breeds. Our experts says this large, dog-like rabbit can weigh 20 pounds or more, making them hard to miss as they hop around. They don’t just look like a dog: this affectionate, interactive rabbit will follow you around the house just like a loyal pooch.
Despite their size, the Flemish Giant has a surprisingly laid-back personality. Known as a “gentle giant” among pet rabbits, this social, dog-like rabbit is easy to bond with and can even be trained to use a litter box—just like a cat does!
They are ideal for families, couples, or pet parents who enjoy interactive, affectionate pets and can accommodate a bunny that loves to stretch, hop and explore. It's no wonder so many dog and cat lovers consider getting one of these furry creatures.

This German Shepherd’s First Snow Zoomies Are Pure Winter Magic
Snow can bring so much joy and wonder to our days. But no one is quite as excited about seeing flurries of white falling from the sky as animals. Whether they are seeing it fall for the first time or the thirtieth, they always take a moment to appreciate the beauty or frolick and play: some even do both!
One German Shepherd got to experience the magic that comes with seeing snow for the first time, and his reaction couldn't possibly be more precious. Without an ounce of fear, he tore out into the yard, zooming through the snow.

German Shepherd Becomes a "Rocket" in The Snow @domtheshepherdFirst snow ever and suddenly he’s part reindeer, part rocket 🚀❄️ I think the snow activated something we can’t turn off now. #GermanShepherd #SnowZoomies #FirstSnow #DogLife #creatorsearchinsights
♬ original sound - Teton RidgeDom the Shepherd had never seen snow before. But that all changed when snowstorms blanketed most of the United States, and the young Maryland-based pup was treated to his very first snow day. His adorable, though slightly chaotic, reaction was documented and shared on his TikTok account by his parents.
The footage opens with Dom taking off into the snow-blanketed yard like a horse coming out of the gates racing for the win. His zoomies take over, and before anyone knows it, he's plowing into the white fluff, jumping over mounds of snow, only to be momentarily paused by sinking into a hole. However, it didn't stop Dom for long. It was truly more of a minor inconvenience.

His owners wrote on TikTok, "As soon as he stepped into the white, fluffy wonderland, something seemed to click in him—he transformed into a bundle of joy, displaying delightful snow zoomies. It's as if the snow activated a play button that we can't turn off!" They conclude that he is now "part reindeer, part rocket."
I don't think there has ever been a more accurate description of a German Shepherd in the snow. Our pup was about 2 years old when he first experienced the snow, and while we didn't get nearly as much as Dom's parents did, he had just as much fun.
Other GSD parents chimed in in the comments, confirming that their little fur missiles love the fluffy white stuff just as much as Dom, and that many of them get the zoomies as well. One writes, "My 7-month female GSD absolutely loses her mind in the snow." Dom's parents replied, saying, "Dom loves it. He just waits at the door, crying, wanting to go back out."
That sounds accurate. While nothing can replace that first snow feeling, something tells me Dom will be having many more magical days in the snow now that he knows just how cool it is.

7 Funny Ways Cats Communicate With Their Owners
There's no denying it—cats are curiously opinionated creatures. They seem to have strong reactions to everything, from a person entering a room to everyday sounds in their environment. However, since cats don’t speak the same language humans do, it can be tricky to understand what they’re trying to communicate at any given moment. Because of this, some pet parents assume that cats are aloof or antisocial, but that’s not always the case. Understanding cat behavior, feline body language and the subtle ways cats communicate can help you strengthen your cat-human bond. To help you decode your furry companion, we rounded up 7 funny ways cats “talk” to their owners, according to veterinarians.
"People generally believe that cats are an enigma and that their thoughts and actions are difficult to be predicted or understood," says Dr. Julie Hunt, DVM, a veterinarian contributor for Embrace Pet Insurance. "In reality, cats have a somewhat predictable range of likes and dislikes."
The challenge is that most people don’t recognize what their cat is “saying,” and they often miss all the ways cats are trying to communicate through vocalizations, body language, and behaviors. After all, most of us didn’t learn how to speak feline in school! To help boost your kitty IQ, two veterinarians shared several funny and revealing ways cats speak to their owners—and what each action really means. That way, you can know just how much your cat loves you and you won't be asking yourself, "How do cats communicate with their owners?"

7 Ways Cats “Talk” to Their Owners A cat communicating in an affectionate way.Veterinarians say that there are many silly ways cats talk to their owners, and it's crucial to know what they mean if you're a pet parent. "Cats don’t communicate in quite the same way humans do, so learning their language can be incredibly helpful for understanding your cat’s needs, their mood and how to strengthen the bond you share," states Dr. Victoria Carmella, DVM, a veterinary advisor at Pet Honesty.
1. They eye pat their ownersIf your cat prefers this lol-worthy communication strategy, you may not need a fancy new alarm clock (sorry, Hatch enthusiasts). The eye pat is one of the cutest ways cats talk to their owners that many people miss as communication. Though, when your cat softly taps your closed eyelids with a paw, they’re sending a very clear message and letting you know it’s time to wake up. They aren't just pawing you because they are bored.
"When you’re sleeping, but your cat wants you to wake up, perhaps to fill their food bowl, you may feel a soft paw touch your closed eyelids," Dr. Hunt states. "This is your cat’s way of saying that your eyes should open and you should wake up now."
However, eye pat is much more than a wake-up call—it’s a playful, affectionate signal that your cat trusts you and wants to interact on their own terms.
2. They tail whopA cat's tail can certainly tell a tale about how they're feeling. Dr. Hunt reports that you'll notice this funny way cats talk to their owners if your pet wraps their tail around your leg or hits you in the face with it. This quirky behavior is more than playful, it’s your cat’s way of sending a clear message. Basically, every swish, wrap, or whop is a small and meaningful way your cat “talks” to you, showing that they are content.
"Your cat is communicating affection when they do this," Dr. Hunt reveals. "Cats have scent glands on the base of their tails, which emit pheromones. A cat that gives you a tail whop is spreading happy pheromones on you that mark you as familiar and safe."
3. They give love licksWhat are signs your cat loves you that you fail to recognize when your furbaby is trying to express themself to you? Well, dogs aren't the only ones who show their love by kissing—cats can, too! A gentle lick from your feline friend is one of the clearest ways cats communicate love with their humans. Through this behavior, your cat is “speaking” in their own language, sending a message of trust, closeness and affection.
"If your cat licks your skin or hair, this is a sign of a close-knit relationship and perhaps love," Dr. Hunt states. "Cats mutually groom only their very close, friendly cats, so if your cat is grooming you, this is high praise." In fact, she adds that it’s your cat’s way of saying, “I care about you,” in the language only cats truly speak.
4. The bring you giftsPlayful, loving dogs often bring toys to their favorite humans. However, dogs don't have "exclusive rights" to the gift-giving communication method. That said, cats have their own unique twist on this gift-giving behavior. So, why do cats bring you gifts?
"When your cat brings you dead or maimed prey as a gift, it is communicating that it cares for you enough to either bring you food or to bring you injured prey to teach you how to hunt for yourself," Dr. Hunt states. "Either way, the provision of these gifts indicates that your cat cares for you."
These items may not always be glamorous, but they are a meaningful demonstration of your cat’s affection and trust. When you notice your cat is doing this, it's their way of telling you they feel like part of the family.

5. They chirpA cat’s meowing can mean many different things depending on the type of sound they make. If your cat is frequently making short, high-pitched chirps, you’re witnessing one of the many ways cats communicate with their humans. Chirping is a common feline vocalization that shows your cat’s excitement, curiosity, or desire for attention.
"The quick high-pitched trill is often used as a friendly greeting or to express excitement," Dr. Carmella reveals. By learning what these cheerful trills mean, you’ll better understand your cat’s moods and strengthen your connection.
6. They head buttIf you're curious what's one way cats show affection that doubles as a form of communication, a head butt is it. So, why do cats head butt, exactly? This funny cat behavior is a sweet way they show their love. In fact, a cat head butt, which is when your feline presses its head right up against you, is one of the clearest signs of affection. Many felines do this to their scent behind, which is a subtle way cats mark you as part of their family. "This cat behavior is a way of saying 'you are my person,'" Dr. Carmella explains.
Noticing this adorable cat behavior can help you interpret your cat’s mood and respond in a way they appreciate. Plus, it'll also help strengthen your bond.
7. They deep growlIf you hear a deep growl coming from your cute cat, it's probably best not to laugh it off. Growling is one of the ways cats communicate, often signaling discomfort, fear, or irritation.
"As a veterinarian, I’ve heard this one many times," Dr. Carmella says. "A low growl is often a warning and their way of saying, 'please back off.'"
Overall, understanding these warning signs is key to reading cat behavior and keeping both you and your pet safe.

Aldi Is Bringing 'Haute Couture' to the Canine World—And Every Designer Look-Alike Is Under $5
High-end fashion may be popular with humans and pups alike, but it's not always great for our pocketbook. But if you have a pup with champagne taste on a limited budget, high-quality dupes are your best friend. Whether it be cozy dog sweaters or adorable pet beds, Aldi is here for all our furry friends' fashion needs.
Though they may have outdone themselves with their latest collection of dog toys. The Aldi brand Heart to Tail dove straight into canine couture with items like a doggie handbag, a gorgeous floral dog bone, a fancy slide, chic heels, and more. With these, your pup can easily claim the title of the neighborhood's most fashionable. No one needs to know they were less than $5 each!

Canine Couture Dog Toy, Handbag, $4.99 at AldiWhile your pup may not have an arm to hang this bag from, they could certainly take it for a jaunt around the block. Your pup can grab up the rope in their mouth and head out the door. My pup loves to carry a ball or rope with him everywhere he goes, so that's certainly something he could get on board with. The soft plush body of the bag's label, "Fluer de Fetch," adds extra credence to the luxury feel, and the interior squeaker will provide lots of playtime fun.
Canine Couture Dog Toy- High Heel, $4.99 at AldiDogs love a good pair of shoes. Even when you think they won't go for your heels, they surprise you. The only pair of shoes my dog destroyed as a pup was a pair of my short-heel booties. Maybe if I had this high-heeled stuffy in the house, my boot would have survived. At least, it wasn't the elegant Chanel heel that this toy reminds me of. That would have been a tragedy.
The flashy heel is a far more suitable chew toy. However, the plush isn't the most chew-proof material. But for $5, the sheer joy your pup will experience while ripping through it to retrieve the squeaker is well worth it (especially if it saves the real thing!).
Canine Couture Dog Toy-Floral Bone, $4.99 at AldiAldi
The Floral dog bone screams quiet luxury. Between the royal blue hues and vibrant flowers, this may be the prettiest piece in the entire collection. While your pup might not appreciate the aesthetic of this chic toy, they will love that it's perfectly chewable and squeaky. It will look adorable sitting on your pup's bed. Well, for as long as it lasts. Our little super-chewer would annihilate it in less than 5-minutes. But at $5 a piece, stocking up is always a good option!

Canine Couture Dog Toy- Sandal, $4.99 at AldiAldi
Much like the heel, this sandal is the perfect dog-friendly alternative to your footwear. Additionally, the plush slide includes a rope and a squeaker for hours of fun. It can be tossed, flipped, and flopped all around the house, keeping your pup entertained in style.
Canine Couture Dog Toy- Cologne Bottle, $4.99 at AldiNothing says high society quite like a signature scent. Of course, our pups are used to sniffing out scents instead of wearing them. But that doesn't mean they can't have a plush toy modeled after a designer fragrance to spruce up their toy collection.
This navy bottle-shaped toy reminds me a bit of the men's cologne, Dior Sauvage. While it may not make your pup turn into a movie star, Midnight Howl Eau De Pawfum will give them plenty of playtime fun.
Canine Couture Dog Toy- Perfume Bottle, $4.99 at AldiFleur De Fetch Eau De Pawfum won't rid your house of that dog smell, but it will give your pup a very unique-shaped toy to play with. Thanks to its interesting shape, this toy can be tossed around for a fancy game of fetch or propped up on your pup's bed as an adorable accent. The pink bow gives it some flair, and I know more than a few dogs who will obsess over that detail before they even attempt to tackle getting to the squeaker.
Aldi is well-known for limited-run items that sell out quickly, so if you see anything you or your pup will love, run to the store and grab it before it is gone.

Whippet Puppy Redefines 'Wearing Your Heart on Your Sleeve'—Wait Until You See It
Most work-from-home companions sit beside you. Kayce the Whippet? He takes a much more creative approach.
An adorable Instagram video from Kayce the Whippet shows this tiny pup literally becoming part of his mom's outfit during work hours. Posted with the caption "Who doesn't need snacks & hydration while working?!🤭👀🥹💗 #whippetdog #sighthound #greyhound #italiangreyhound #velcrodog," the video starts innocuously enough—Kayce getting up close and personal while his human works at the computer.
Then comes the plot twist: Kayce crawls completely inside his mom's sweatshirt and pokes his tiny snout out through the sleeve cuff, giving an entirely new meaning to "wearing your heart on your sleeve."
View this post on InstagramThe internet collectively melted. "Yes Instagram, update my algorithm to more of this please. Thanks," demanded one viewer who clearly needed more sleeve-dwelling puppies in their life.
"What I actually mean when I say 'I wear my heart on my sleeve,'" wrote another commenter, perfectly capturing the sentiment.
The unexpected placement surprised many. "I expected a face to pop up from the top of the hoodie. The arm was a good plot twist," admitted one fan.
"I imagined you doing that while on an online meeting. 😂" joked another viewer, envisioning the professional implications of a snout suddenly emerging from a sleeve during a Zoom call.
Some experienced severe envy. "Looks with disgust at my dogless sleeves," wrote one dog-less commenter. Another added, "Was not expecting the nose peeking out of the arm 🤭"
Others recognized extreme devotion when they saw it. "And I thought my dogs were needy!" exclaimed one pet parent. "OMG, you are his safe place. ❤️ Going to find my biggest hoodie to stuff Bucky in now. I hope he likes it," declared another inspired viewer.
One commenter delivered the ultimate compliment: "This is what actual dreams are made of."
View this post on Instagram Whippets Are Known for Their Extreme Burrowing and Affectionate NatureKayce's sleeve-dwelling habit reflects classic Whippet behavior. These elegant sighthounds have a distinctive burrowing instinct, loving to tunnel into blankets, bedsheets or—apparently—sweatshirt sleeves. This behavior stems from their lack of body fat and thin coat, making them susceptible to cold and constantly seeking warmth and security.

Whippets are also known for their affectionate following, choosing to stay extremely close to their humans. This combination of burrowing instinct and velcro-dog tendencies makes sleeve-dwelling the perfect solution for work-from-home Whippets.
As one fan summarized: "I love this 😂 my dog loves hanging in my sweater too but she's 6 pounds 🥹😭 this is sooooo cuteeeee"
Ultimate productivity partner? Debatable. Ultimate adorable distraction? Absolutely.
Corgi Who Helps Get Dressed Wins Most Cooperative Dog in the World
Whether this cute canine is about to meet up with friends for a pup cup, hang out at the dog park, or go for a stroll through the neighborhood, there's no doubt that this dapper doggie is ready to start the day!
In a precious TikTok clip, a Corgi easily slips into a fashionable sweater and stylish harness (with a little help from a pet parent), ahead of making their way out into the world.
If there were an award for working together with a pet parent, we have the ultimate champion right here. This has got to be the most cooperative dog on the planet. Take a look!
@corgitutu ♬ 哆啦B梦 - 桃子鳄了I’ve never seen such a cooperative pet. Now I have cats, so the times I’ve tried to dress up my kitties in sweaters, they're less than interested. In fact, they look at me like I've lost my marbles. But, in my defense, I'm just trying to help them stay warm this chilly winter. They're often sitting on our radiator covers, so I thought they'd love a little added warmth.
The times I’ve walked dogs and had to prepare them with a sweater and harness, it’s never been as easy as it is for this duo! In fact, it’s usually something of a good-natured wrestling event.

Maybe this little sweetheart just woke up from a nap, and this walk is the doggie equivalent of a cup of coffee to get the day started!

Are Corgis Easy To Train? After watching this clip, one has to wonder how easy (or hard) it might be to train a Corgi.
The good news is that Corgis are generally intelligent and eager to please, which can make them relatively easy to train.
If I were lucky enough to have a pet as cooperative as this little sweetheart, I’d buy them a whole wardrobe and take them for plenty of walks to show them off. There’s nothing better than a good, well-behaved, stylish pup by your side!
Tabby Cat's Baby Picture Throwback Looks Like He's Been Run Through a Dishwasher
You can't always tell what a kitten will grow up to look like. They can turn out as expected with all the typical bells and whistles, or they can have such a dramatic transformation that they look nothing like they did as a bitty baby.
This is Bernard's journey. The handsome Tabby cat has come a really long way since kittenhood. In a throwback photo you have to see to believe, the kitty went from dishwater status to cool, confident king.

'Overly-Emotional' Golden Retriever Is Devastated by the Funniest Things
Wally the Golden is back and sadder than ever. And while it might seem unkind that TikTok viewers are laughing at his expense, Wally's unfounded sorrow is so dramatic that it's objectively hilarious.
In this latest video, Wally's mom lays out the "3 things that made [her] overly emotionally Golden Retriever sad this week." She's not talking about major life changes, however. The big reveal of what's got her dog so down is not what we expected.
The first thing that sent Wally on his downward spiral was the fact that his favorite toy was ruined -- by his own doing. He ripped it up while playing with it, as dogs do, and then had to be comforted by his dad as if the toy had been a living, breathing creature.
The second very sad thing was when his dad went outside to use the snow blower to plow the driveway. Wally was in the depths of despair, concerned that the evil machine would take his dad away for good instead of for the hour it took for him to clear the snow.
And the third and final thing that caused Wally to succumb to a depression was the fancy, automatic water bowl that his mom just purchased for him. What was supposed to add value to his life (a constant flow of fresh water!) only causes him deep emotional turmoil.
As his mom relays, "he hates it. He won't even look at it." Instead, Wally just remains splayed out dejectedly on the floor. See for yourself:
@wally.meets.worldThe snowblower cannot be trusted #goldenretriever #dogsoftiktok
♬ original sound - Wally DogWhile many of us found humor in Wally's big emotions, an equal number of people were defending him in the comments.
"What do you mean OVERLY EMOTIONAL? These are TRAVESTIES, and he’s the only one reacting APPROPRIATELY," joked (at least, we think) one supporter.
Another viewer agrees, "I’m so sorry Wally! I think those are all valid reasons to be upset. I’m on your side."
Related: Dad's Solution to Surviving 'Drama King' French Bulldog's Nail Trim Wins the Internet
Sensitive SoulsWally comes by his sensitive nature honestly because, as a breed, Goldens are known to be deeply emotional and intelligent animals. They are intuitive dogs who read human moods well and respond accordingly. They often excel as therapy dogs due to their natural empathy and gentle responses to human emotions. So while their highs are quite high -- Goldens have naturally sunny dispositions -- their lows can be devastating, even over things that may seem inconsequential to us but are Earth-shattering to them.
Sweet Wally is a sensitive guy and will no doubt be sad over something else very soon. I'll be here, ready to watch and report. Luckily, his loving parents have his back.
As one person puts it in the comments, "You get a dog for emotional support, not realizing that it’ll be the other way around." Amen.

Pug Siblings Bicker Through Entire Vet Appointment and It's Hilarious
My two dogs love each other, yet like most siblings, they have their share of disagreements. When my senior Dachshund wants her alone time, but her Pug brother doesn't pick up on her social cues, she quickly puts him in his place. Then there are those moments when my Doxie wants some of her little brother's dinner and he draws a loud verbal boundary. Other times, they just tussle over nothing but it's always quickly resolved.
Frankie the Pug and her little puppy brother Rambo are a perfect example of siblings who get into tiffs from time to time. Their recent veterinarian visit may have caused them both some angst since they were squabbling before they got to the office.
@frankiedoesnyTwo dogs, one vet appointment. They fought the whole time.
♬ Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) - C+C Music FactoryIn the TikTok from @frankiedoesny, the two Pugs headed toward the car for their vet appointment but started getting riled before they were out the door. They speedily ran down the hall, possibly in some sort of competition for who was fastest.
The drive over seemed a bit tense, where the two dogs made no eye contact. Frankie and Rambo sat in their car seats as their mom tried giving them a pep talk.
"Are we gonna be good at the vet today?" she asked them, hoping to plant a seed of proper behavior. Their mom noticed Rambo looking off into the distance. "Why are you facing the other way? You guys beefing?"
Rambo just stared out the window "like a teenager" but soon turned around to be a little more sociable. Yet soon enough, low rumblings and barks toward each other ensued.
"How to make a 10-minute car ride feel like a long road trip: Pug Edition," the onscreen text read.
Jealousy in the Waiting RoomThe Pug puppy sat on his mom's lap while they waited to be called, which prompted some jealousy in Frankie. Never to be overshadowed, the elder Pug maneuvered her way onto her mom's lap as well.
In the examination room, weights were taken before some scuffling broke out. Their mom asked the playful pooches to "give it a rest" but to no avail. The social media post revealed that this behavior had nothing to do with stressing over a vet visit.
"No false advertising," the onscreen text explained. "This is who they are everywhere. True siblings."
They left the vet's office and were ready to head home. Despite the bickering between the fur babies, neither seemed to hold a grudge.
"Two dogs, one vet appointment. They fought the whole time," the caption summarized.

Cockatoo’s Kind Words About Neighborhood Kids Are Sweet, Wholesome Goodness
Kids are divisive. Like Cockatoos, a lot of kids are loud and have not yet mastered the art of personal space. Unfortunately, that means that a lot of people aren't exactly "kid-friendly," and loud kids are often considered a nuisance.
Not for one Cockatoo, though. She was recently outside with her mom when some loud neighborhood kids started hooting and hollering. She had something to say about it, but her words were nothing but kind:
@aylathecockatooFound this draft 😆 There’s a gaggle of 7-12 year old boys in this neighborhood so Ayla’s screaming fits right in 👍🏼 #birdtok #parrotsoftiktok #cockatoosoftiktok #funny #missingsummer
♬ Carefree Days - Peaceful ReveriesAyla the Cockatoo is an easygoing girl. Like the gaggle of 7-12-year-old boys who live in her neighborhood, she loves to scream. In fact, it makes sense that she loves them: their screams make hers fit in better.
Without them, she would probably be told to hush, especially outside! So naturally, when she hears them start hollering, she has nothing to say except, "I love them!" That is so sweet!
Related: Cockatoo's Sweet Happiness Over New Custom Outfit Is Too Cute to Resist
When she's not interacting with the neighborhood kids via screeching, Ayla can typically be found inside with mom. At 21 years old, she's still very young, but she's an old lady at heart.
She and her mom were actually apart for a while: Ayla has been in the family since she was born. However, life happens, and Ayla lived with a family friend for about 7 years. Now, though, they're back together and better than ever:
@aylathecockatooI wasnt that thirsty anyways #cockatoosoftiktok #parrotsoftiktok #aylathecockatoo
♬ Just A Girl - No DoubtShe loves sharing with mom, as long as everything she shares is hers. Ayla doesn't love sharing her personal stuff, though...
Cockatoos and Kids Can Be TrickyAyla has heard the neighborhood kids screaming, sure, but she's never actually interacted with them. She really doesn't have much exposure to kids, but it's not impossible. Cockatoos and kids can live together if:
- You're there to supervise.
- The kids are a little older.
- The child understands the bird's boundaries.
- The child is old enough not to stick their hands in their mouth after handling the bird.
Cockatoos are very loud, and it's going to be next to impossible to soundproof their area completely. If you have young kids, you might have trouble with the bird waking them up! Not Ayla, though: if she met kids, she'd just tell them she loved them!

Dachshund Accidentally Moonwalking on Ice Will Make Your Day
Dachshunds are going through it this winter!
In this record cold and snowy winter for much of the country, we have seen Dachshunds struggling to walk in snow boots and layered up with so many jackets and wraps that they can barely walk (or have any peripheral vision).
So, it is refreshing when we just get to see a Dachshund having some plain old winter fun in this tough weather.
We got to see that in this new video from the account @omelettedefromage of Wendy, the adorable short-haired Dachshund, walking on ice. Because it's so slippery, she almost looks as if she is moonwalking!
First, we see the little dog in a cute red jacket on a sheet of ice covered in snow, and then the classic beat of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" comes in.
Wendy does appear to be moonwalking and seems to have a perfect beat!

Clearly, people loved the video, and there were some good comments about it.
One person wrote, "Virtually indistinguishable," and then had a photo of Michael Jackson attached.
Another wrote, "She told me her name was cold toe beans……."
Many also wrote something along the lines of: It's these kinds of magical videos that make them keep this app.
Now that is the highest of compliments!
There are some more fun videos of Wendy, the Dachshund, on this account, so definitely check them out.
Should Dogs Wear Boots in the Winter?Though this is a very entertaining video of a dog not wearing boots in the snow, we have to ask: Do dogs need to wear snowshoes in the winter?
You often see pups wearing them in the colder months, and many don't seem very comfortable.
However, the shoes can be beneficial for protecting their paws from frostbite and cuts.
Related: Dachshund in 7 Layers of Coats Trying To Walk in a Snowstorm Will Make Your Day
The boots can also shield their paws from de-icing chemicals and give them better traction in inclement conditions.
However, not all pups necessarily need boots. Many dogs who are used to cold conditions have resilient paws and should be fine throughout the snowy season.

Whippet Hiding in His Mom’s Hoodie Is the Cutest Coworker Ever
A Greyhound-type coworker has entered the chat, and he is working from inside a hoodie sleeve. Kayce, a Whippet with elite Velcro dog credentials, has figured out how to stay as close as physically possible to his mom while she works from home.
In the clip, Kayce is tucked under his mom’s sweatshirt while she types away at her computer. Only his tiny snoot peeks out from the sleeve, quietly supervising the entire operation. If you have ever wondered what true workplace support looks like, this is it.

What do you need now?” More kisses. A water glass appears. Kayce laps politely from it like this is completely standard office business.

“You really just never know what’s going on in other people’s homes.”
“When I say I need special accommodations in the workplace, this is what I mean.”
“Now, that is a smart watch.”
And possibly the most accurate observation: “Imagine being on a Zoom call and noticing your coworker has a cute snoot poking out of their sleeve.”

I work from home, too, and many times, our Pomeranian, Kingston, has been under my sweater. Not in my sleeve, but definitely in my lap. And there is almost always a cat parked somewhere on me as well. Productivity is questionable, but morale is high. Don't tell my boss, Mary!
