Cat Zens Out as Mom Plays Music as if They Feel It in Their Soul

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 5:20pm

One cat looks to be turning on, tuning in, and dropping out!

While I’m not sure if this kitty overdid it with the catnip or has simply achieved a nirvana-like state listening to Mom’s hypnotic acoustic instrument, this funky feline is feelin’ groovy!

This clip on TikTok is an absolute gem! Not only is the music really cool, but our feline friend’s zen-like moment is totally hilarious.

Fans couldn’t get enough, and they had lots to share about what they thought was going on here!

“Bro just ate catnip,” a viewer said.

“Is your cat a smoker?” another asked.

“Kitty is in love with free concerts,” chimed in a third viewer.

Others felt our friend was in a completely different mental state!

“He’s communing with the ancestors," someone said.

I can’t help but wonder what the lyrics to the song are.

Could it be from a traditional Turkish folk song? Maybe a modern take on the Beatles’ psychedelic song, “I Am The Walrus,” or something from the Grateful Dead’s catalog?

Either way, this kitty appears to be on a completely different wavelength.

Another possible explanation for their current state might be from being overserved at mealtime! Look at the size of that cat!

This little chunkster is reminding me of my husband on Thanksgiving when the tryptophan kicks in, and he waddles off to the den for a nap.

Do Cats Like Music?

Not really. To them, it’s just noise. Cats process sound differently, so our music isn’t made for their ears.

That said, cats do like certain sounds, like those in the same frequency range as purring or birdsong. They also might like simple tones and slow, steady rhythms that are like their resting heart rate.

One thing that's for sure is they don’t like loud volume, heavy bass, or sharp sounds. (Sorry, all you headbangers out there in the pet-lover world!)

Cockatoo Defies Mom to 'Feed the Puppies' and the Cutest Chaos Results

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 11:44am

Some birds follow the rules. Furby the cockatoo? He makes his own.

A viral TikTok video shows the mischievous bird deliberately dropping food to his puppy siblings despite his human's repeated requests to stop. Posted with the caption "#listen to #noone," the video perfectly captures Furby's rebellious spirit as he ignores commands and continues his generous food distribution program.

"Stop feeding the puppies," his human says off-camera. Furby's response? Drop another piece of food.

@furbythebirb

The comment section absolutely loved this chaotic energy. "Furby is like, 'You don't make the rules here!!!!'" wrote one viewer, nailing the bird's attitude exactly.

"He knows exactly when you call him out, but he doesn't care😂" observed another fan, recognizing Furby's full awareness of his defiance.

Several commenters appreciated the strategic nature of his rebellion. "Hahaha, I see Furby using my technique. 'Oops, that one fell on the floor... Oops! So did that one!' Hahaha. Cheeky but clever boy!" praised one viewer.

"Couldn't help but chuckle at this one. This truly just shows off Furby's impish personality and I'm here for it❣️❣️" added another delighted fan.

The relationship between Furby and the puppies particularly warmed hearts. "Evidence he loves them. True siblings. Furby loves to pester and love 😂🤣," noted one commenter.

"From the puppies' arch-nemesis to their co-conspirator 🤣," joked another, referencing their evolving bond.

"Partners in crime ❤️❤️❤️❤️," declared one fan, while another added, "Looking after his brothers 😂!"

Some commenters sided firmly with Furby. "So adorable. Feed the puppies, Furby! Good bird!!!" cheered one supporter. Another encouraged, "Sharing is caring, mom."

Cockatoos Are Intelligent, Social Birds Who Form Strong Bonds

Furby's generous behavior reflects cockatoos' highly social nature. These intelligent birds are known for forming strong bonds with both their human families and other household pets. Wild cockatoos eat an assortment of seeds, fruits, nuts, berries, and vegetation, making them natural food enthusiasts.

Cockatoos require balanced diets consisting primarily of pelleted bird food (75-80%), with fruits and vegetables making up 20-40% of their daily intake. While sharing food demonstrates affection, it's important that cockatoos eat their own nutritionally appropriate diet rather than feeding all their food to furry siblings.

As one viewer wisely noted: "Stop me, human."

Furby clearly has no intention of stopping his puppy-feeding mission—and the internet wouldn't have it any other way.

Tortie Maine Coon’s ‘Half-and-Half Beard’ Is the Sweetest Thing

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 11:00am

Cats have such unique fur. It almost seems like it shouldn't be possible, but somehow, it is! Every cat, even if they have a pretty "standard" coat, will have something about them that makes them totally special.

For one Tortie Maine Coon, it's her little beard. It's all natural, but it honestly looks like she got caught drinking from a saucer. The exact split is just too pretty:

@seramainecoon.cat

These Maine Coon kittens aren't just gorgeous - they're one of the smartest and friendliest breeds. They love playtime, they love people, and yes... they hold conversations with you If you want a cat that feels like royalty and loves like a best friend... adopt a Maine Coon. #royalcat #mainecoonkittens #smartcats #adoptme #viralcats

♬ What Is Love Slowed - Savior

The Sera Maine Coon Cattery is home to some very gorgeous cats, that's for sure. All of the cats in this video are stunning, but Miss Half and Half Beard in the middle takes the cake. I like that it even covers her nose a little bit!

She appears to be the only Tortie in the litter: she has a few orange siblings as well as a black one. This happens sometimes when the parents are black and orange, though it's relatively rare.

Related: Rare ‘Blue Cheese’ Tortie Maine Coon Has the Most Refreshing Face

This cattery has had several litters in the past, but this one is the prettiest. The kittens are European-style Maine Coons, which means they're:

  • Super fluffy.
  • Very defined, especially in their faces and ears.
  • Outgoing.
  • Larger than a typical American Maine Coon.

This cat is special, though, because it's not just the one spot on her chin that has some pure orange coloring. There's also some orange on her paw and chest:

Tortie Cats Have Attitudes

Tortoiseshell cats are notorious for their crazy attitudes. The phenomenon is known as "Tortie-tude," and it's the thing most people who have them love most about their cats. Tortie-tude might include:

  1. Excessive vocalizing.
  2. Being super clingy.
  3. Swatting and hissing at anything and everything.
  4. Stealing everything they can.

This cat is a Tortoiseshell and a Maine Coon, so wherever she ends up is definitely in for a wild ride. I just know she's going to grow up to be large, gorgeous, and in charge!

Cocker Spaniel Puppy Sits Just Like a Tiny Human and We Can't Get Enough

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 10:55am

If I had a penny every time I thought of cute puppies, I'd have a whole lot of pennies. They're born with a magical fairy dust sprinkled upon their furry little heads, I'm sure of it. Like sugar cubes or honeycombs, there's no limit to how delightfully sweet the little pups are, and I'll gladly take at least 14 of them, thanks.

Maple, an irresistibly precious Cocker Spaniel puppy, came along at just the right time to back me up. If it's not her already perfect-looking face or curly, pint-sized frame, it's her funny way of sitting that'll win you over. Beware of #puppyfever ahead!

Puppies doing anything makes me smile. They're innocent and pure, curious about the world while trying to figure out who they are inside of it. Little Maple is doing just that by sitting like a tiny human, and it's hilarious.

With a caption that says, "We call this her 'fat sit,'" you can expect something funny, and this little angel brought it! Bless @sweetlikemaplek for sharing with the whole class how a fine specimen like her spends her time. I'd have never guessed it's this, TBH.

The Cocker Spaniel puppy, whose full government name is Maple Kieffner, is closing in at just 5 months old, but she's already made quite a splash. If you're not already swooning over Maple sitting like a human, I suggest you rethink your life choices. In the meantime, there's so much more to this gal.

Cocker Spaniels Are Sweethearts

Known as smart, happy, and gentle, Cocker Spaniels have a lot to brag about. You wouldn't know by looking at them that they were originally bred as hunting dogs, but as the AKC describes, they're "easily trained playmates," so it makes sense. This is the kind of dog who can zoom around a while, or like Maple, practice sitting like us... just because!

Rescue Dog Gets Most Beautiful Chance at Happiness After 900 Days in Shelter

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 10:10am

Many rescue dogs deal with past abuse and trauma, and sometimes need a seasoned pet parent to help them through the recovery process. These canines have emotional and physical issues to work through and are often misunderstood, making adoption more unlikely as time goes on.

Melia the Pit Bull mix is one of these precious pooches who's had a difficult time finding a forever home. She has been at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter for years, and now is finally getting the chance she's been waiting for.

View this post on Instagram

Staff members and volunteers fell in love with Melia and knew she deserved a home. According to NBC Connecticut, they began a social media campaign to get her adopted and the pretty Pittie mix became an internet sensation. Her Facebook page had over 60K followers, with people tuning in to her story from all over the world.

Melia was abandoned as a puppy three years ago. The shelter matched her with a family at one point, but it didn't work out. Other animal rescues attempted to take in Melia, but they proved not to be an appropriate fit. She's remained at the shelter for almost 900 days.

Where Is Melia Now?

When Ingrid Kabnick of Paws Path to Furever saw Melia's story, she launched a campaign to raise $8,000 for Melia to attend a canine rehabilitation center for training. They raised $12,000, and now, Melia is headed to K9 Rehabilitation in Watertown, Connecticut, to get the training she needs.

Justin Michaels owns the center, where he has already trained 6,000 dogs. “I can create confidence, peace, discipline, and most of all make her, help her become adaptable, help her be flexible and find a home," Michaels said.

Thanks to the efforts of many animal advocates who believed in her since day one, Melia now has hope to find her forever home.

“She’s ready, she’s going to knock it out of the park,” volunteer John Esposito said. “She’s got good structure.  The shelter has set her up to succeed.  She has a shot at a good life.”

Each Maine Coon Kitten Is One Shade More Orange and It’s Getting Out of Hand

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 9:20am

You know when your printer starts acting weird, and someone says you need to shake the ink cartridge?

Apparently, that applies to Maine Coon kittens, too.

This litter looks like someone lined them up from “barely toasted” to “fully tangerine.” The first kitten is almost completely white. The next has a little more warmth. And by the time you reach the last one, we are in full orange chaos territory. It is literally a living paint swatch of orange colors.

@greekgardenmainecoons

Which kitten caught your eye? 👀 #mainecoon #kitten #remix #orange

♬ Pink Pantherr - Remix - Vũ Remix

The hilarious clip, shared on the TikTok account @greekgardenmainecoons, has the caption, “POV: Mom shook the ink cartridge.”

And honestly? Accurate.

Related: Maine Coon Kitten With Two Different Colored Eyes Is Impossible To Ignore

The comments were just as unhinged as you’d hope. “From raw to perfectly cooked,” one person wrote. Another said, “From snow white to tangerine!” Someone else declared, “I’ll take one of each, please,” which feels like the only reasonable response. And of course, “Look at all those extra toe beans,” because Maine Coon people always notice the paws first.

A lot of Maine Coons are polydactyl, meaning they have extra toes, which just adds to their oversized cartoon kitten vibe. Our own Maine Coon, Meatball, was a fully orange, feral little tornado as a kitten. He had huge paws, endless energy, and the confidence of a dog three times his size. Now he’s 2 years old, weighs 23 pounds, and is still basically a giant kitten. Maine Coons grow slowly and dramatically, and the orange ones especially seem to come with extra personality baked in.

Watching this gradient of kittens feels like witnessing an orange evolution chart in real time.

How Fast Do Maine Coon Kittens Grow? @mikaylahartung13

Maine Coon kittens grow much more slowly than most other cats. While many kitties reach full size by around a year old, Maine Coons can keep growing until they are 3 to 5 years old.

They start off fluffy and adorable, and then somehow just… keep expanding. Bigger paws. Longer tails. More floof. If this litter is already giving full orange-spectrum energy as babies, just imagine them at 2 years old.

3-Legged Husky Boards Jet and Lives Her Best Life After Being Abandoned

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 8:20am

They say living well is the best revenge.

That’s certainly the case for Swiff, the Husky, as this rescue dog lives large at 20,000 feet.

Is that a private plane? It has to be because a dog Swiff’s size doesn't typically sit in the cabin on a commercial flight, unless they're service dogs, of course. Regardless, that definitely looks like first-class seating! And Swiff looks so happy, and this sweet gal deserves it! Previously abandoned, Swiff's new family is making up for lost time by treating her like a queen.

Take a look at this TikTok clip of Swiff's high-flying new lifestyle!

Maybe she just ate a big, fancy meal because she looks pretty content lying down instead of looking out the window.

“Wish I could send this video to the people who dumped her on the side of a highway,” Swiff’s pet parent says in the TikTok clip.

“Living her best life,” noted a viewer.

“What a pretty girl, living her best life,” echoed another.

“How could anyone abandon these snow babies?” asked a third.

“Awwwww. She is just beautiful. Thank you for being her hero. This is so great! It was her destiny to be with you!” a viewer wrote.

How Do Dogs Fare on Airplanes?

Gererally, small dogs who fit in a carrier under the seat usually do pretty well on flights. Most pups just curl up and sleep once they get accustomed to the plane sounds. Having their pet parents nearby is a big comfort.

Things may be a little more challenging for dogs who have to fly in the cargo area. While modern cargo holds are pressurized and temperature-controlled, it can be loud, dark, and isolating, and especially difficult for pups with anxiety issues.

With that, maybe some of these dogs can hook up with Swiff, who clearly is enjoying her time in first class. What a way to fly!

I’m sure she’s going somewhere amazing because this inspirational girl is living her best life and deserves it!

Senior Golden Retriever Gets One Last Snow Day and It’s Beautiful

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 7:55am

There are some videos you click on, thinking they will just be cute. And then suddenly you are staring at your screen trying not to ugly-cry.

Harley, a sweet senior Golden Retriever, got one final snow day because, according to her dog mom, she absolutely loved the snow.

♬ White Winter Hymnal - Fleet Foxes

The touching video was shared on TikTok by @ms.swoleshady with the caption, “Giving Harley her last snow day because she loves the snow.” And that alone is enough to make your throat tighten.

In the clip, Harley is bundled up and being gently pulled in a sled. She is wearing a diaper, clearly an older girl, and her dog mom makes sure she can still feel the snow and the crisp winter air. Harley looks peaceful. At one point, she genuinely looks like she is smiling, just soaking it all in. It is beautiful. It is devastating. It is love.

Related: Senior Golden Retriever Napping in Yard To Enjoy 'Last Days' Has Everyone Sobbing

The comments are a collective group hug. “I wasn’t prepared for this today,” one person wrote. Another simply said, “No, I can’t, my heart.” Someone who had lost their own soul dog shared, “She was so loved, sending you so much love. I lost my soul baby in May.” And then there was the comment that somehow made it hurt and heal at the same time: “I’m just gonna act like y’all are moving to Hawaii.” People jumped in to play along because sometimes pretending is easier than facing goodbye.

“She was smiling so big. She got to play in the snow with her favorite person. I cannot handle this,” another commenter wrote. And that is really what it comes down to. She got to have her favorite thing with her favorite person.

Our little Pomeranian, Kingston, refuses to even step into snow deeper than his ankles. He will glare at me like I personally offended him. But watching Harley reminds me that dogs have their seasons, too. And if your senior dog loves something, whether it is snow or sun or car rides, give it to them if you can.

Sweet Harley Always Loved the Snow @ms.swoleshady

♬ The Great Divide - Noah Kahan

In another beautiful clip, Harley is younger, stronger, absolutely living for winter. She bounds through the snow with that classic Golden Retriever joy, nose dusted white, tail wagging like she invented happiness. It makes her final sled ride feel less like an ending and more like a full-circle moment. She loved the snow her whole life. And she got to feel it one more time.

Sleeping Cats' Perfectly-Timed Reaction to Automatic Feeder Going Off Will Crack You Up

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 7:31am

Sleeping peacefully one second, sprinting toward food the next. That's the life of a cat with an automatic feeder, and one viral TikTok video captures the phenomenon perfectly.

Posted with the caption "Reaction to the feeder going off. Wait for it..." the video shows three cats completely passed out, looking like they haven't moved in hours. Then the automatic feeder beeps, and chaos ensues.

All three cats' heads snap up simultaneously, and within seconds they're racing toward their food bowl like Olympic sprinters. The synchronized reaction is comedy gold.

"She didn't even open her eyes, that was straight muscle memory 😂," observed one viewer, perfectly capturing how instinctive the response was.

The comment section exploded with people relating to this food-motivated behavior. "Cats always act like they never get fed 😂😂😂😂," wrote one fan, while another joked, "They're STARVING! Probably haven't eaten in at least a few hours! How will they ever survive?! 😂"

"They haven't eaten in minutes 😂," quipped another commenter, nailing the dramatic energy.

Related: 'Gluttonous' Orange Cat Boldly Steals Mom's Breakfast With Exactly Zero Regrets

The comparisons to human behavior were endless. "Me as soon as my intermittent fasting time is up 😂😂😂," confessed one viewer. Another added, "Me at work when my break time comes 😭😂."

Several cat parents shared that their felines take food obsession to the next level. "Mine sits ON THE FEEDER, 30 minutes to an hour before it goes off. Greedy!😭" revealed one commenter.

"The synchronized head up was 🤌🏻" praised another fan, appreciating the perfectly timed reaction.

One viewer offered scientific insight: "Cats sleep with their ears up, always listening and aware."

Why Are Automatic Feeders So Useful for Cats?

Beyond creating hilarious viral moments, automatic feeders serve important purposes. They're particularly helpful for cats who wake their humans early morning demanding breakfast—the feeder handles mealtime without requiring anyone to leave bed.

Automatic feeders also allow multiple small meals throughout the day, which mirrors how cats naturally eat and keeps them satisfied longer. This is especially beneficial for food-obsessive cats who tend to overeat.

For cats with medical conditions requiring consistent meal times, automatic feeders help maintain schedules. They're also useful in multi-cat households where one cat might steal another's food—some feeders sync with microchips or collar tags to ensure each cat gets their own portions.

"If you're not first, you're last 🤣🤣" joked one commenter, perfectly summing up these cats' competitive dining philosophy.

Whether your cats sprint to their feeder or casually stroll over, one thing's certain: they know exactly when dinner time arrives.

Foster Shih-Tzu Attends Puppy Bowl Launch Party and Is the Belle of the Ball

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 7:10am

The Super Bowl is around the corner, but pet lovers are ready for the Puppy Bowl that airs the same day. The Animal Planet special features a pack of puppies in a model stadium with a mock field, "competing" as their adorable puppy selves. Lots of playing, pawing, kissing, sniffing, and clumsiness will abound and it's the cutest "sports" event ever created.

Raven the foster Shih-Tzu got an invite to the Puppy Bowl launch party and was eager for a night on the town, especially after recovering from a recent surgery.

To get a head start on celebrating, she was headed to the launch party with her plus-one, Raven. The precious pooch recently had a large mass removed and was itching for a little adventure.

"This is her very first party, her first soirée," Klee said as she held Raven, who was decked out in a stylish red and white coat for the occasion.

Once they were at the shindig, Raven mingled with some furry friends and their pet parents, clearly loving the social scene. The party had it all: paparazzi, pup cups, and even a bead bar to make snazzy collars.

Raven Had a Blast

The socializing Shih-Tzu barely stopped rubbing elbows all night. Raven was like a doggy diva and enjoyed every minute of her evening out. She was probably one of the last attendees to leave.

Exhausted from her adventure, Raven conked out in full snore mode on the way home. Followers were thrilled for the canine cutie's exciting evening and cautioned Klee that she may have unleashed a true party princess.

7 Adorable Ways Cats Show Affection, According to a Vet

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 6:10am

When you bring a pet into your home, many people think they'll get lots of cuddles, snuggles and experience other clear signs of affection that'll show their furry friend loves them. While dogs often wear their emotions on their sleeves, with kittens, it can sometimes be trickier to recognize signs your cat loves you. After all, cats have a reputation for being independent or even aloof, and their ways of showing they care can easily be missed by their owners since cats communicate differently than people do. That's why understanding cat body language and cat behavior can help you build a deeper bond with your feline companion. To learn more about how your cat expresses love, we rouded up 7 adorable ways cats show affection, according to a vet.

That way, you'll be able to start to notice subtle cat affection signs that arise each day. Dr. Hilary Humm-Beatty, DVM, a veterinarian with Embrace Pet Insurance, points out that cats absolutely show affection, it just may be in more subtle ways. "It is often a source of comedy and teasing that cats are aloof and standoffish, while dogs are bubbly and attention-grabbing," she notes. "You see, it is actually theorized that when cats give and receive affection, it is because they want to, not because of a food reward or because they cats are bred to be affectionate."

Ultimately, you just need to know what to look for if you have a cat of your own. To help, Dr. Humm-Beatty shared seven adorable ways cats show affection. Before long, you won't be asking yourself "Does my cat love me?" Instead, you'll know how cats show love.

Cats are full of subtle signals and cat body language that show they love and trust you. From gentle head bumps to curling up in your lap, these behaviors let you know your cat does in fact like you. Understanding how cats show affection helps strengthen your bond and lets you recognize the little ways your feline friend expresses love every day and that they feel like they are your family.

1. The high tail

Your kitten's backside may reveal you've high-tailed it straight to their hearts. Sometimes your cat’s tail is trying to tell you just how much they adore you! "A cat’s tail position held high with a slight bend at the tip has been shown by behaviorists to be an expression of happiness or affection," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. This is a classic example of cat body language that shows affection and often something pet owners miss.

2. The roll over

One of the most adorable ways cats show affection is when they roll onto their back. This classic cat behavior that shows affection signals a deep bond between you and your feline friend.

"Cats that roll onto their backs exposing their belly are showing affection and trust," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. "This is a very vulnerable position for a cat, and if they assume this position with their owner, it shows the cat trusts and feels safe with their person."

So next time your kitty flops onto their back, take it as a heart-melting reminder that your cat trusts you completely—and is giving you a furry version of a hug!

3. Slow blinking

When it comes to cat affection, this is an easy-to-miss cat behavior that is actually another clue that your cat trusts you with their life. "When a cat closes its eyes in the wild, it makes them vulnerable to attack," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. "If a cat does this slow blinking behavior with their owner, it shows that it feels safe."

Want to deepen the bond? Dr. Humm-Beatty suggests slow-blinking back. Your cat will understand and respond with even more cat affection behaviors. It’s basically a tiny, heart-melting conversation in cat language as slow blinking is how cats talk with their eyes.

Related: 8 Heartwarming Signs Your Cat is Happy You’re Home, Say Vets

4. They get loud

Cats may not speak our language, but they have plenty of ways to show love and affection through vocalizations. If you’re wondering how cats show affection, paying attention to their sounds is key. These melodic noises are cat behaviors that show love and proof that even without words, your cat is finding ways to express affection and bond with you.

"Long drawn-out meows and hissing convey agitation and aggression," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. "Short trills or quiet meows communicate contentment, affection and an invitation to play. Some cats will even meow back when their owners speak to them, actually engaging in a form of conversation."

5. They rub on you

If you've ever thought to yourself, "Why does my cat rub against me?" it's actually a good thing. In fact, it's one of the cutest ways cats show affection by initiating physical touch. "Head-butting, rubbing on or grooming their owner is a way that cats communicate affection, trust and love," Dr. Humm-Beatty shares.

Wildcats also communicate affection in this way. "When cats headbutt or rub, they release pheromones from scent glands on their face," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. "Pheromones are special chemicals used for communication. While we cannot smell these chemicals, cats consider their owners marked when they rub their heads and faces on us."

6. The gift grab

OK, you may find this cat love signs more gross than cute. "Cats will bring their owners gifts of toys or prey as a token of affection," Dr. Humm-Beatty states. "This is a feline behavior of instinct, like cats bringing food to their kittens. It is a sign that the cat wants to play or show off their successful hunting."

All-in-all, watching your cat bring you little treasures is a classic example of cat behavior that shows affection, and it’s their unique way of saying, "I love you."

7. They love your lap

How can you tell if a cat loves you? Well, this show of cat affection is arguably one of the sweetest. "When a cat is curled up in your lap and is purring and kneading on you with their paws, this is a major sign of affection, safety and attachment," Dr. Humm-Beatty notes. "As young animals, kittens purr and knead as they nurse on their mothers. This behavior marks their owner with pheromones from the scent glands in their paws."

Overall, this gentle, furry ritual is one of the most heartwarming cat behaviors that show love, and it’s a classic way cats demonstrate affection for their favorite humans.

8 Adorable Ways Dogs Bond with Their Owners and Show Love

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 6:10am

As a pet parent, it's natural that you want to form a close connection with your dog, but it can be hard to know if the feeling is mutual. After all, while it can feel like you’re on the same wavelength with your devoted pup, you technically speak different languages. Due to this, how a dog communicats might not make any sense to you as people are usually more verbal, while your pooch will often show certain behaviors or body language. To help you out, we rounded up 8 adorable signs your dog is trying to bond with you.

“There are many ways in which your dog can indicate that they are interested in spending time with you to bring about a stronger bond,” says Shannon Walker, dog trainer and founder of Northwest Battle Buddies. You might view some of these pet bonding behaviors as random, but she say that they mean a lot to your dog—and so does how you respond to them.

With that in mind, these are some of the biggest signs your furbaby wants to build a stronger bond with you. If you notice your dog doing them, be sure to give them a pat or other sign of affection. It’ll go farther than you think. Remember, according to professional dog trainers, positive reinforcement strengthens the dog-human bond and helps your pet feel safe, loved, and emotionally connected. It’ll go farther than you think.

How Dogs Try to Bond with Their Owners

Dogs bond with their owners in the sweetest ways by using cuddles, eye contact and playful gestures to feel close and connected. Whether they follow their owners from room to room or snuggling, these are simple ways dogs communicate love and build an emotional bond with people. Many of these canine bonding behaviors are clear signs your dog loves you and feels safe by your side. Noticing how dogs express affection can help owners appreciate the special bond they share every day, that may otherwise be missed.

They Paw at You

It’s easy to assume your dog is trying to tell you something when they paw at you. Turns out, they are and it's one of the ways dogs show affection and try to connect with their owner. “Pawing is often a dog’s way of initiating interaction or asking for attention,” says  Erin Askeland, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, Camp Bow Wow's animal health and behavior expert. “When it happens gently and in relaxed moments, it can show their comfort and a desire to engage with you socially.”

They Sleep Next to You

What does it mean when a dog cuddles with you? It means they love you and it's a dog's way of bonding with you. So, if your pup desires to sleep next to you, ideally in your bed, it's no accident. Instead, it's a sign of dog attachment to an owner. “Sleeping close offers warmth, familiarity, and safety,” Askeland says. “When a dog chooses that spot consistently, it often means your presence helps them fully relax.” In fact, a dog's cuddlying style also reveals the type of bond they have with their owner.

They Have a Special Greeting for You

How dogs bond with owners can vary. From a special tail wag to dancing around, so-called “greeting rituals” suggest your pup wants to be close to you and that you have a good dog-human relationship. “A dog who saves a specific wiggle, spin, or toy-grab just for you has learned that your arrival is meaningful and is worth celebrating to them,” Askeland explains. She recommends praising your pup to show you understand what they are trying to communicate with you.

They Copy You

Why do dogs follow their owners? One reason is to copy them. When your dog starts copying your movements, like sitting when you sit or relaxing when you do, it’s a sweet sign your dog is bonding with you. “Dogs naturally sync with people they feel connected to,” Askeland says. That can mean sitting when you sit or kicking back when you do. “This shows how attuned your dog is to you, which signifies a strong bond,” Askeland reveals.

They Love Licking You

One dog bonding behavior that shows a dog loves you is when they kiss you no matter if they are a big dog or a small dog. To be fair, not all dogs are lickers so if your pooch doesn’t lick you, it doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy your company. Still, some furry companions are all about this sign of affection. “When a dog approaches and chooses to lick you, it can be a social gesture rooted in affection, comfort, or attention-seeking,” Askeland says. “In calm contexts, it is one way dogs maintain connection and closeness.”

For many pets, licking is a sign your dog is bonding with you and feels emotionally secure with their owner. This physical contact helps dogs show love and strengthen the human-animal bond.

They Lean Into You

When your dog leans their whole body into you, it’s not clumsiness—it’s one of the sweetest ways dogs show love and bond with their owners. This affectionte dog bonding behavior helps dogs feel safe, calm and emotionally connected to the humans they trust most. “Leaning allows dogs to stay physically connected while feeling supported,” Askeland says. “Many dogs use this contact as a simple check-in, especially in calm or uncertain moments," making it a clear sign your dog is bonding with you and trying to connect.

They Want to Roughhouse

When your dog nudges you with a toy or playfully pounces, it’s more than just extra energy—it’s one of the fun ways dogs try to bond with their owners. Playtime is an important dog bonding behavior that helps build connection. “Play strengthens social bonds and builds trust,” Askeland explains. “When a dog invites you to wrestle or chase, they are practicing cooperative play within a relationship they feel safe in.” You don’t have to reciprocate, of course, but playful moments like these can be a joyful way for dogs and humans to connect.

They're Generous with Prized Possessions

Sharing anything is a big deal, especially when it comes to coveted playthings. “Sharing toys can be an invitation to interact or a way to include you in something they enjoy,” Askeland states. “For many dogs, it is a gesture that says they want to work together.”

This is one of the subtle dog bonding behaviors that shows your pet is trying to connect with you, strengthen your dog-owner relationship, and express trust. Many owners may miss this quiet form of affection, but noticing and responding—by playing along or giving gentle praise—helps reinforce the dog-human bond and shows your dog that their gestures of love and cooperation are appreciated.

Funny Doodle Who's Clearly 'Part Goat' Has People Cracking Up

Sun, 02/08/2026 - 5:40am

Some dogs sit politely on the couch. Others? They channel their inner mountain goat and perch on the edge like they're surveying their kingdom from a cliff.

Meet Pippa, a Goldendoodle whose hilarious balancing act on furniture has TikTok viewers absolutely losing it. Posted with the caption "Part goat?," the video shows Pippa standing confidently on the edge of furniture while watching television with her family.

But the real show starts when she spots something exciting on screen—an action fighting sequence. After glancing between her humans and the TV, Pippa makes her move. She launches into the air, pounces dramatically toward the television, snatches her Lamb Chop toy, and starts playing with it.

The comment section erupted with reactions to her theatrical performance. "I did not see that coming," confessed one surprised viewer, while another noted, "Big jump!"

"A very well-planned attack. She really gave it a lot of thought. ❤🥰" observed one fan, perfectly capturing Pippa's calculated pounce.

Others offered alternative animal comparisons. "Or kangaroo!" suggested one commenter, recognizing Pippa's impressive vertical leap.

Of course, many simply couldn't resist that adorable face. "Look at that face!🥰" gushed one viewer.

Why Do Goldendoodles Love Climbing on Furniture?

While Pippa's goat-like perching might seem unusual, furniture climbing is actually common dog behavior—especially for intelligent, people-focused breeds like Goldendoodles.

Dogs climb on furniture for comfort, safety and connection. They know humans find furniture comfortable and rewarding, so naturally they want in on the action. More importantly, dogs are empathetic creatures who want to be near their family members. If you're on the couch, your Goldendoodle wants to be there too.

Some dogs, particularly smaller ones, love being elevated because it makes them feel less invisible and more on equal footing with their humans. When dogs stay on the floor, they may feel separated from their pack.

Goldendoodles—a crossbreed combining Golden Retrievers and Poodles—are especially known for their friendly, intelligent temperament and strong bonds with their families. They're sometimes called "Velcro dogs" because of their desire to stick close to their humans.

These active, playful pups also maintain an extended puppyhood, which explains Pippa's energetic toy-grabbing performance. Goldendoodles love to play and need structured training, but their eagerness to please makes them highly trainable.

Whether Pippa is part goat, part kangaroo, or just 100% adorable Goldendoodle, one thing's certain: her furniture-perching, TV-watching, toy-pouncing antics have won the internet's heart.

Costco’s New Beautyrest Pet Mattress Is More Luxurious Than Most Human Beds—And It’s a Total Steal

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 10:50pm

We all love giving our pups a cozy place to sleep. Of course, many of them choose the floor, couch, our beds, or somewhere completely off the wall to take a snooze rather than the luxurious digs we've bought them. Mine tends to curl up on the carpet, completely ignoring his bed, the majority of the time, selectively choosing it from time to time.

No matter if it's a raised bed, plush, or shaped like stuffed animals, pups love to snuggle with them, even if it's just for a little bit. But nothing is quite as cozy as a traditional quilted top bed, especially one made by one of the top mattress makers. Costco carries a delightfully cozy bed that dogs "love," and it's just under $45.

Beautyrest Platinum Quilted Top Pet Bed, $44.99 at Costco View this post on Instagram

While we don't always readily admit it, our pups rule the roost, and they deserve to have the most comfortable throne to reign from. Costco comes through for us pet parents once again with a supportive, comfy bed that's the perfect upgrade for our pups.

The Beautyrest Platinum Quilted Top Pet Bed is a luxurious bed that gives your pup the naptime upgrade they deserve. At $44.99, it's a high-end accessory at a bargain price, offering orthopedic support with quilted plush. Plus, it's big enough for your pup to stretch out. The memory foam gives much-needed relief for your pup's joints, especially after a long day of squirrel chasing and ball retrieval. Plus, it's 4.5 inches thick and features AirCool gel properties that keep your pup cool as a cucumber.

The extra-dense foam base is especially comfortable for older pups, who find soft, plush beds too hard to get up out of after a nap. Older pups deserve both comfort and support. The anti-odor treatment keeps your pups' new bed smelling fresh while eliminating bacteria, mold, and mildew growth.

The bed measures 40-inches by 30-inches, giving medium to x-large dogs plenty of space. Small dogs, of course, can use this to achieve the ultimate stretch. The level surface allows pups to roll around, lounge, or stretch out as they wish. If you have a crazy sleeper like we do, you know exactly how important all that extra space can be.

One pet parent said on Costco Buys Instagram about the bed, "Our dogs love it! We're using them in their XL crates, and they just fit!" Another pet mom writes, "These beds last a long time. Put a crib sheet over it to make it easier to wash/vacuum."

These beds won't likely last long, so if you're ready to give your pup an upgrade, check in with your local Costco warehouse.

Bulldog Meets Stuffie in His Likeness and Instantly Decides It's His 'New Girlfriend'

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 9:20pm

We don't get to decide who we love—the heart wants what it wants. If, per chance, the heart falls head over heels for a stuffed animal, so be it... but it's really only adorable when pets do it, because they're the purest souls on the planet.

This is the feeling English Bulldog Taco experienced recently when Mom gifted him with a lookalike stuffie. His smitten reaction to the stuffed dog is one for the books!

Listen, Taco's just a boy in the world asking a lookalike stuffie to love him in return. Whether he understands what the thing is or not, the moment caught on camera is the picture of "catching the feels." Take a look at their romance unfolding!

"He found the love of his life today," the caption says, and I think he'd agree! He's not worried about the other pups gathering 'round to investigate, because that's his girlfriend, and he doesn't care who knows it. Let the man live, will ya?!

While @houseofbulldogslv boasts a whopping 47k TikTok followers who also tune in to see Deuce, Belle, and Puff, Taco's the biggest star of them. When I say biggest, I mean the "chonky" English Bulldog's latest weigh-in at nearly 11 months old came in at 73 pounds! He is the definition of an absolute unit (and proud of it)!

Taco and His Stuffie: A Love Story

Since meeting the love of his life on January 10, 2026, Taco is still obsessed with his stuffie. An update shared on February 5 shows how patiently he waits to see the stuffed pup, then eagerly greets it like they're long-lost besties.

"Bro waited all day for this moment," the video says, "then his sisters showed up!" Sorry, bud, but it looks like they're just as obsessed!

Last year, I gifted my senior rescue Staffy, Franklin, with a stuffie in his likeness, and he responded nearly the exact same way. I'm not sure if it has to do with a scent or just a feeling, but who am I to judge? Dogs are perfect and deserve to find love... even if it's with a toy!

San Antonio Zoo’s ‘Cry Me a Cockroach’ Valentine’s Day Fundraiser is Back For 2026 Heartbreaks With Three Affordable Options

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 8:50pm

The ever-popular Valentine's Day tradition is back- and no, it’s not flowers, or even jewelry. This tradition takes a turn to the darker side of the holiday, offering those who are single, scorned, or otherwise unattached the opportunity to get a little revenge on their exes, all while raising funds for a good cause: the adorable animals of the San Antonio Zoo

San Antonio Zoo’s now world-famous fundraiser is taking off again. You will once have the opportunity to name a cockroach after an ex with a spin. This year’s Cry Me a Cockroach event will have more economical pricing, giving more people the opportunity to have a little fun on what otherwise may be a bleak day.

Cry Me a Cockroach is Here Again View this post on Instagram

While it’s all in good fun, people will get to buy a cockroach, rodent, or veggie, name it after someone, and then it will, well, get fed to one of the zoo’s animals. While it may be the beginning of a revenge plot, it’s all in good fun.

"With Cry Me a Cockroach, we've found a fun and creative way for people around the world to get some innocent revenge," said Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoo, in a press release. "It's a lighthearted fundraiser with real impact, and it's become a Valentine's Day tradition across the globe."

This year, donation levels are as follows:

  • $5 for a Cockroach
  • $5 for Veggies
  • $15 for a Rodent

All funds raised will support wildlife conservation, education programs, and animal care at the facility. Head over to www.sazoo.org to learn more about the zoo’s animals and programs. While naming a cockroach or other animal food option may be a big part of the fun, participants won’t just get satisfaction in return for their donation.

Every donation will get a downloadable Valentine's Day Card to send to family, friends, or your ex as proof you're over them. Participants will also get a Valentine’s Day video showcasing one popular zoo resident. You can also catch fun clips of the animals on V-Day by following @SanAntonioZoo on one of their social media channels.

The cheeky fundraiser was first started in January 2020 and has run every year since. The San Antonio Zoological Society began in 1929. The nonprofit's primary goal is to secure a future for wildlife by operating the San Antonio Zoo, the Will Smith Zoo School, the Edutainment Center for Conservation and Research at the Zoo, and Kiddie Park. The zoo is also a part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the Zoological Association of America, the American Animal Hospital Association, and Humane Certified by American Humane.

Black Cat Insists on Touching Every Matchbook on Mom's Coffee Table and It's LOL Funny

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 8:20pm

Though cats are known for being sly and sneaky, sometimes they really want you to see when they are being full-on mischievous.

We see that here in a hilarious video from the account @lillie__powell featuring her Black Cat messing up her very chic coffee table decor.

In the video, her very handsome Black Cat has decided he needs to touch everything in her large bowl of matchbooks just because he feels like it.

First, with his right paw, he begins to sort through the matchbooks in a shallow bowl, and then he switches to his left paw and really gets some movement going to make sure he touches all of them.

"Did you get them all? Make sure you touch them all," his Mom said, looking amused and annoyed.

Clearly, the cat is having a good time as he is purring quite loudly.

Oh cats! You are so silly!

@lillie__powell

He takes every single matchbox out of the bowl 🤍

This video produced a rather funny comments section.

One user wrote, "He’s clearly looking for a specific matchbook. Please don’t disturb the process."

Another wrote, "He is so unbothered by his chaos." Truth!

Hopefully, he saves most of his redecorating for small items like a bowl, as his mom clearly puts a lot of work into the interior design of her beautiful house.

She shares videos of her gorgeous house in other videos on the account.

Why Are Cats So Mischievous?

As for why cats are so mischievous sometimes and destroy something right in front of you, the answer is that it's part of their feline instincts.

According to The Spruce Pets, cats are born natural predators.

Even though kitties may be fully domesticated and expect their food to be served to them in a crystal bowl, they still retain those hunting and fighting instincts.

Of course, sorting through a bowl of matches doesn't really seem like something a hunter would do in the wilderness; we're sure he had his reasons.

Little Blue Staffie Puppy Has the Sweetest Angel Eyes

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 7:20pm

I think most of us can agree that all puppies are cute. And then there are puppies who are so amazingly cute that they make you question reality a little bit.

Bronxy is a 10-week-old Staffordshire Terrier with the softest gray velvet fur and the kind of pale blue eyes that look straight out of a painting. In the clip, he is just sitting there in a tiny pale blue harness vest, doing absolutely nothing dramatic. No tricks. No chaos. Just existing with the sweetest little face you have ever seen. That may not sound like much, but just wait until you see this little angel baby. Oh, my heart!

@bronxthebluestaffie

@bronxthebluestaffie shared the adorable video on TikTok, and people were losing their minds in the comments. “Oh, that face!” one person wrote, which honestly sums it up. Another said, “Good God, he’s insanely adorable.” Someone else added, “He looks like an angel,” and I cannot argue with that. One commenter admitted, “OMG, I thought he was AI. He looks like a dream,” which is fair because Bronxy truly does not look real. He looks like the idea of a perfect puppy.

Related: English Labrador Puppy Suddenly Discovers His Tail and It's Hilarious

There is something about that round baby face and those blue eyes that just makes you melt. “He may have the sweetest puppy eyes ever,” one person wrote, and I fear they might be correct. Another simply said, “This is the cutest baby I have ever seen,” and honestly, facts.

Watching Bronxy sit there so calmly made me think about when our Pomeranian, Kingston, was a puppy. He was so tiny that even his smallest stuffed animals were bigger than he was. I swear I blinked, and suddenly he wasn’t that little anymore. Puppies grow fast. Like painfully fast. One day, they are tiny velvet babies in oversized harnesses, and the next, they are fully grown and stealing your spot on the couch.

If you have a puppy right now, soak it up. Take the photos. Record the videos. Memorize the little baby face. Because time absolutely flies.

Staffordshire Terriers grow into strong, muscular dogs, but they are typically medium-sized pups. Most adult Staffordshire Terriers weigh between about 24 and 38 pounds and stand around 14 to 16 inches tall at the shoulder. While they may not stay as tiny as Bronxy is right now, they keep that loyal, affectionate personality that makes them such beloved family dogs.

Stunning Samoyed Sings Goodnight to the Internet in the Cutest Way Possible

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 7:00pm

After a long day, even dogs have their own way of winding down.

A fluffy white Samoyed named Mango is going viral for his bedtime routine, and viewers say the gentle sounds he makes feel almost like a lullaby. In a TikTok shared by his human, the pup signals it's time for sleep by letting out a series of musical “awoos,” as if he’s saying goodnight.

According to multiple videos on Mango's account, his melodic vocalizations seem to happen around bedtime each evening -- and any other time he wants to chat! The soothing routine only adds to the cozy, snuggly vibe Mango already exudes thanks to his fluffy white coat.

@mangothesammy

Some goodnight awOos to wind down to 😚 sweet dreams friends✨

♬ original sound - jamille & mango

"Can you please tell your polar bear cub that I love him?" professes one viewer.

"I love the cloud puppers so much!" agrees another.

Sammies like Mango are famously expressive dogs and are often nicknamed “talkers” because of the range of sounds they make when interacting with their people. But Mango’s version feels especially gentle — less like he’s asking for attention and more like he’s settling in after a full day.

Related: Huge Mastiffs Train Tiny Grandma to Pay the 'Cheese Tax,' and the Video Is Too Cute to Resist

The Importance of a Routine

Many pets develop small daily rituals — waiting at the door, following their humans from room to room, or checking on family members before bed — and those routines often become part of what makes a house feel like home. Mango’s nightly “song” is simply an especially adorable example.

But establishing a routine for your dog is more than just sweet; it's necessary. Dogs love knowing what comes next. A simple, predictable routine can make everything easier, from house training to grooming to preventing behavior issues. Consistency helps dogs feel secure and builds confidence.

As puppies, they especially need structure. Regular times for meals, sleep, play, bonding, and potty breaks help them adjust to a new home. Adult dogs benefit too. Daily walks, enrichment, training, and grooming reinforce good habits and help them cope with life changes like moving, traveling, or new family members.

Senior dogs often rely on routines the most. Older pets can become confused, and predictable schedules help reduce anxiety and prevent accidents.

Just don’t be too rigid. Focus on consistent activities rather than exact clock times, and make sure everyone in the household follows the same rules. Clear expectations make for a calmer, happier dog — and a much calmer household. Just ask our comforting canine, Mango.

Sly Golden Retriever Stealing Mom's Trash Can Inspires Pup Sister To Join the Crime Club

Sat, 02/07/2026 - 6:55pm

Having two dogs means they're bound to pick up each other's habits, however odd (or funny) they may be. If both pups are rescues, some of those habits might be ingrained, for whatever reason, and it'll take time before they learn how to navigate their new lives.

Duke, the Golden Retriever, is known for having a bit of a stealing problem, but now that Leona has joined the family, Mom's got two adorable little bandits to keep her eye on!

Extreme closeup of a Golden Retriever showing off his two tennis balls.

The sly boy has been stealing hearts left and right since his social media debut. His resource guarding shows itself as hoarding, and as heartbreaking as that sounds, he has a supportive new mom who lets Duke be Duke. Leona, the wildcard, is learning with every passing day how to be a better thief, and the two make quite the team!

If you need a warm hug that feels like home, turn up the volume. Mom's voice is chicken soup for the soul.

Forget the groundhog. A trash can is Duke's pick of the day, which means spring is on the way! Leona opted for a more traditional item, a stuffie, but she's still learning!

Both senior Golden Retrievers may not fully understand all the ways their stealing and hoarding brightens the day of so many, but we're just glad they've landed in the safest, most loving home possible.

Funny Things Duke Has Stolen

It was only a matter of time before Leona caught on to Duke's ways. In the time since he found his happy ending, the precious pup has had his fair share of items he's taken to his bed.

From an emotional support lamp, a bottle of bubbly, and books (even one about hoarding, ironically), to couch pillows, empty kibble containers, a bag of apples, and a fine china tea set, it's the process Duke goes through selecting an item that's so interesting. He takes his time and carefully chooses something to describe his mood, and it's a funny sight to see.

Whatever Duke chooses next, we'll all be here anticipating what it'll be. Sweet boy (and Leona now, too), keep doing you!
