Oldest-Living Cat's Golden Abstract Fur Is Like a Beautiful Painting
In a perfect world, pets would live forever because they deserve to. The lucky ones make it far beyond what their typical lifespan should be, but you'd never imagine them living multiple decades.
That's exactly what a stunning Tortoiseshell cat named Flossie's done as the world's oldest-living cat—and she doesn't look a day over 15! If you can peel your eyes off her gorgeous golden fur that deserves a spot in an art gallery, you'll see Flossie is just the sweetest little lady who never takes each day for granted.
View this post on InstagramIn December 2025, Flossie celebrated her 30th birthday, which means this '90s baby (est. 1995) has lived through more world events than my human teens!
According to The Express Tribune, the British Tortie started her life in a feral cat colony in England before a hospital worker rescued her. She lived with several families throughout the years and eventually landed with the UK animal welfare charity, Cats Protection.

Guinness World Records verified the cute kitty's ripe old age of 26 and 316 days back in 2022, which was estimated to be the human equivalent of 120 years! The same year, her current mom, Victoria Green, adopted Flossie, who was found to be deaf with limited eyesight.
“I knew from the start that Flossie was a special cat, but I didn’t imagine I’d share my home with a world-record holder,” Green told The New York Post. “I’ve always wanted to give older cats a comfortable later life. I’m immensely proud that Cats Protection matched me with such an amazing cat.”
View this post on Instagram Secrets to a Cat's Longevity, According to FlossieEven with age-related conditions, the beautiful Tortoiseshell senior is otherwise in excellent health. Some things that might contribute to Flossie's longevity include a solid routine, which includes meals at the same time each day (she wakes early for breakfast), easygoing playtime, and a few more extended naps than she might've needed as a young girly.
PetMD suggests regular vet check-ups, keeping your kitty indoors, and watching their weight as basic ways to keep cats healthy for as long as possible. Also, make sure they get enough mental stimulation to keep their minds young and fresh!
Flossie's mom touted the precious kitty as "affectionate and playful" as if she were no older than a kitten, so her routines, naps, playtime, and meals are working for her. Here's to another 30 years for Flossie and at least three decades for the rest of our furry felines!

Rescued Peacock Growing Back His Feathers Is So Inspirational
Birds are some of the most commonly mistreated pets out there. People will buy birds because they're pretty, but they don't really understand how they actually need to care for them. Birds need a lot more than you might think!
One Peacock was recently rescued from a horrible situation, and he was really struggling. He was completely bare, no feathers in sight... Until he got to his new home. It seems like a little love was all he needed to grow back his beautiful feathers:
@sukithelionWhy did they do this 🥺 #animals
♬ Jacob and the Stone (Slowed) - Emile Mosseri & sped up + slowedSuki the Lion gave this Peacock the home he deserves, and you can clearly tell that it's working. When he first got there, there were no feathers on his body whatsoever. Apparently, he had been kept in a cage for his entire life.
He and several other Peacocks had been having their feathers plucked out, so all of the plucking you see in the first part of this video wasn't self-harm. It was intentional. While not all feathers will come back, especially with repeated plucking, his feathers are doing great!
Related: Stunning White Peacock Takes ‘Cloud Chicken’ to the Next Level
He even found a partner who was in a very similar condition. They've both been growing back their feathers together, and they look great! Growing back their feathers is only one step in a huge healing journey, but they're taking it on together!
When a bird plucks their feathers, they'll take weeks or even months to grow back, depending on the bird. There's also a risk of re-injury: traumatized birds or birds with a history of self-harm will continue to pluck budding feathers. If they're not monitored, continued plucking will result in permanent balding.
What Are Peacock Feathers Sold For?Clearly, whoever was keeping all of these Peacocks and plucking them was selling their feathers. You don't just do that for fun. Peacocks are famous for their stunning feathers.

Peacock feathers are used for decoration. People will craft things out of them, like accessories or home decor. Alternatively, you can often find them sold by themselves, meant for use as:
- Craft supplies.
- Centerpieces.
- Making banners/garlands.
There is such a thing as ethically harvested Peacock feathers, and people have been doing it for thousands of years. Healthy Peacocks naturally molt once a year, and those feathers can be harvested after they've fallen. Before you buy Peacock feathers, please do your research!

Foster Kitten's Wide-Eyed Look Upon Seeing Full-Grown Cat Will Crack You Up
When you're caught off guard, it can be tough to contain your surprise. Most of the time, that shock is written all over your face.
Apparently, pets, too, can't hide their true feelings when confronted with the unexpected either. Even typically cool cats can appear unnerved!
In a funny TikTok clip, we see a tiny foster kitten react with total confusion upon spotting an adult cat in the home, and it's adorable and hilarious. Take a look!
@its_stasi.sHe looked so surprised 😳 . . #foster #fosterkittens #vegas #catmom
♬ Oh my god what is that - UnheardCrime"My foster kitten was shook when he saw my cat," the foster kitty's family captions the clip. "He looked so surprised."
He sure did! That head swivel is too funny. He's clearly concerned, and it's too cute!
Viewers couldn't get enough of this sweet reaction and had plenty to say as they imagined what might be going through the kitten's mind.
"They make 'em that big?" one person wrote.

I've never heard that expression, but it truly sums it up!
"He was really trying to process reality!!!😂," someone else commented.
It looks as if he wants his kitty companion to weigh in, but the other little one is pretty chill about this new development.
“I took a 5-minute nap, and there’s a dinosaur in here,” one viewer joked.

"Is that me from the future?😳" another person imagined the kitten thinking.
How Fast Do Kittens Grow?Who can resist a kitten? We can't. And it's important to savor every second of kittenhood because these funny felines grow up pretty quickly!
In fact, kittens typically double their birth weight during the first week. By 7 weeks old, their senses are developed, and they're rapidly gaining independence. Between 9 and 12 weeks of age, kittens are ready to play and even hunt. By 14 weeks, they've hit adolescence and are ready to be adopted. Aw. And we think children grow fast!
It's funny to watch the wheels turning in this kitty's brain as he tries to process this big cat. We hope the more mature cat befriends these little guys and shows them how cats of all sizes can be friends!
German Shepherd Becomes Part of Kids’ Soccer Game and It’s Adorable
You hear kids yelling across the field, and then suddenly everything changes. “TOMMY, WANNA COME PLAY WITH US?” and just like that, this German Shepherd is fully invited, fully included, and fully ready to go. He pauses for half a second, looks back at his mom like, is this happening? Am I allowed? And then he is gone. No hesitation. Just pure joy. The following clip makes me so happy. As someone who grew up playing outside with other neighborhood kids, this is absolutely the best.
In the clip, Tommy takes off running toward his little human friends in this open field between houses, instantly becoming part of the game like he has always been on the team. Not awkward. Not unsure. Just locked in. It is the kind of moment that feels simple but hits you right in the feels for some reason.
@tommythesoccerdogAll of a sudden you hear ‘TOMMY, WANNA COME PLAY WITH US?’. Then Tommy looks at me as if he would ask ‘Can I go mom? Really? Okay bye love you!’ Ughhh the way he was running to his human little friends, so adorable. You guys were right - It’s becoming a daily thing where Tommy gets invited to play with them. My heart is oh so full! #germanshepherd #germanshepherdsoftiktok #gsdlife #gsdpuppy #fydog
♬ Island In The Sun - WeezerThe German Shepherd named Tommy in the TikTok video from @tommythesoccerdog is getting everyone in their feels, and the comments prove this.
“Remember when we were kids, and we played soccer with that cool German Shepherd? That was the best,” one person wrote, and honestly, that feels like a memory I somehow already have.
Related: Neighbor Dogs 'Asking' Golden Retriever to Come Play Are Just Like Little Kids
Another said, “I don’t know what was better, the dog joining or just seeing kids out playing together,” which is so real. Kids outside, no phones, just running around with a dog like it's 1998 again.
“Tommy has a better social life than me,” someone added, which… yeah. Same.
“And all those kids’ parents know they have a built-in bodyguard pupper,” which is actually such a comforting thought. Big, loyal dog, right there in the mix.
And then, “This will be a core memory for everyone involved,” which feels exactly right. You can see it happening in real time.
I keep thinking about how my own pets would handle this. Kingston would be overwhelmed in 3 seconds and just bark his dumb head off. Meatball would sit in the middle of the field and refuse to move. Tommy? Tommy said, put me in, I’m ready.
Are German Shepherds Good With Kids? A German Shepherd running with a little girl.Image Via: Andrew Angelov/Shutterstock
German Shepherds are often great with kids, especially when they are raised with them or properly socialized from a young age. They are known for being loyal, protective, and incredibly intelligent, which makes them naturally tuned into the people around them.
That said, like any dog, it really comes down to the individual pup’s personality, training, and experiences. A well-socialized German Shepherd who has been exposed to different people, environments, and situations is much more likely to be calm, confident, and gentle around children.
@tommythesoccerdogSome of you were worried about the street being close by. Here's what Tommy will do: he'll check for cars, wait if one is coming, chase the ball to stop it, and wait for a kid to get it. Then he'll herd them back to the grassy field. We're lucky to have such a great neighborhood where kids (and Tommy) can play safely! #gsdoftiktok #gsdlife #germanshepherdsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #safetyfirst
♬ original sound - kellyscaninebase - kellyscaninebaseThey also tend to form strong bonds with their families and can be very protective, which is why you often hear people describe them as natural “guard dogs.” But in everyday situations like this one, that loyalty shows up as engagement, playfulness, and just wanting to be part of whatever their people are doing.
It is always important to supervise interactions, especially with younger kids, and to teach both the dog and the children how to interact respectfully. But when everything lines up, you get moments like this. A dog who is not just tolerated, but invited. Not just present, but part of the group.
And judging by Tommy, he is absolutely living for it.

Orange Cat Gets Put in His Place By Prairie Dog Sibling and It's Hilarious
Many pet parents have different species living under one roof. Dogs and cats are usually the first animals people think of when it comes to domestic fur babies, though families often have rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, or even pigs cohabitating with their canine or kitty.
Linen the orange cat usually lives peacefully with his prairie dog sister, Lorraine. Sometimes the frisky feline can push Lorraine's buttons and she has to remind him who's boss.

♬ original sound - 𝙎𝙋𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙍𝙀👻 - 𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗬𝗔𝗥 ɴᴇғᴇʀ ᴀᴠᴀʟᴏɴ♪Linen and Lorraine were chilling in a recliner, just enjoying some rest and relaxation. The pretty kitty took up most of the chair and seemed to be holding Lorraine back with his paws. She crawled over to the edge of the chair, then back toward her big brother.
Apparently, he wanted his space and gave her a quick nip while pushing her away. Lorraine was unfazed and unintimidated, despite their noticeable size difference. She burrowed toward the lower part of his body and must've squeezed him somewhere sensitive because Linen bolted up and left the recliner.
"Why he knows better than to get too rough with Lorraine," the onscreen text explained.
Followers were impressed with Lorraine's sass and got a kick out of the relationship between the fur baby siblings.
"Lorraine goes straight for the reverse jugular," someone remarked.
"Prairie dog can hold her own — I would be more afraid for the kitty," another pointed out.
"Lorraine is a clever girl! These two crack me up!" one shared.
"Lorraine's got zero fear," a follower noted.
Prairie Dogs Remain SmallThese stout-bodied rodents usually weigh about 3 pounds as adults and measure up to 16 inches long. Prairie dogs tend to live until approximately 10 years old in the wild and have a diet consisting of mainly grasses, roots, seeds, and sometimes insects.

Though they appear cute and cuddly, prairie dogs are tougher than they look. They are often subjected to extreme weather conditions including hail storms, blizzards, and floods. These rodents also contend with water scarcity and large predators. Burrowing underground is one of their strongest survival skills.
Lorraine may not have to face any outside elements, but she definitely has no problem standing up for herself.

7 Strange Cat Behaviors That Show They’re Happy
It’s easy to write it off as just one of those things when you spot your cat doing something odd. But when it happens repeatedly, it’s fair to wonder what’s going on and what the reason behind your cat's actions are. That goes double when they seem to be content while they’re doing it. Since cats sadly can't talk to their pet parents and explain why they do what they do, it's up to cat moms and dads to decode their body language. To help you do that, we listed 7 surprisingly weird things cats do when they're happy, according to pet behaviorists.
That way, you'll see that even while every pet will engage in what may seem like strange behaviors here and there, some are actually signs your cat is happy that you may have otherwise missed. The trick is to pay attention to them so you can start to understand what certain things mean. “It's all about body language,” says LeeAnna Buis, certified feline training and behavior specialist at Feline Behavior Solution. “If you can read your cat's subtle movements, you can learn so much about how they're feeling.”
Of course, this doesn’t mean that common happy kitty behaviors you’re already familiar with are out the window. “Purring is probably the most well-known sign of contentment,” points out Alison Gerken, DVM, a veterinary behaviorist at the San Francisco SPCA. "A content cat is also more likely to want to sleep or rest near you, as well as groom in your presence, however, none of those are weird cat behaviors." So, read on to see what quirky cat behaviors you should look out for if you want to know if your cat is happy.

7 Weird Things Cats Do When They’re Deeply Content A cat giving their owner kitty eyes.Cats have some of the most unusual habits, and knowing these weird cat behaviors can help you understand when your cat is feeling joyful. These signs of a happy cat show just how much your feline trusts and loves their home. Check some out, below!
They ‘grimace’How can you tell if your cat is happy? Well, this strange cat behavioral sign is admittedly confusing. That "grimace" is actually something called the Flehmen response, and it’s a happy sign your cat that means your pet is simply taking in their environment. “This behavior helps cats process interesting or important scents through a special sensory organ called the vomeronasal organ—or Jacobson's organ—located on the roof of their mouth,” Gerken explains. "When your cat makes this funny face, they’re drawing air over this organ to learn more about the scents they’re investigating."
What’s the link between this and feeling content? “Cats typically perform this behavior when they're relaxed and comfortable enough to investigate their environment,” Gerken says. “A stressed or fearful cat is unlikely to stop and analyze interesting smells.”
They ‘make biscuits’ on youThis weird cat behavior is a clear sign of a happy and content cat. Often called “making biscuits,” this kneading habit is a throwback to when your cat was a kitten. “Kittens will knead their mom's belly to stimulate the flow of milk,” Buis says. “Nursing is a special bonding time for both mom and babies. Due to this, many cats carry this kneading habit into adulthood when they feel the same kind of contentment.”
They droolOne sign your cat is happy that can be odd to witness? If your cat drools! This cat behavior usually goes hand-in-hand with kneading, according to Gerken. “Some cats drool a little while kneading, which is just another sign that they are in their happy place,” she says. "You may also see kneading happening along with purring, half-closed eyes, and a relaxed body."
They do the tail-high 'elevator butt'A quirky and funny cat behavior, known as 'elevator butt,' may look unusual at first, but it’s an important part of your cat's body language and can be a sign of a happy and content cat. When your cat raises their tail and butt into the air, it may trace back to kittenhood. “This action may come from kitten behavior when mother cats would groom their kittens' rear ends, and the kittens would lift up to facilitate the grooming,” Gerken explains. “It’s a sign they’re enjoying the interaction and feel comfortable with you.”

They get the zoomiesA weird cat behavior that often surprises people is when cats get the zoomies, which are also called frenetic random activity periods (FRAPs). Many cat owners find this unusual because zoomies are commonly associated with dogs, but it’s actually a part of cat body language too and a sign of a cheerful cat.
“The zoomies might seem chaotic, but they're often a sign of a content, healthy cat,” Gerken says. “While zoomies can happen for various reasons—pent-up energy, prey drive being triggered, post-bathroom relief—they're generally most common in cats who are well-fed, safe, and living in a low-stress environment.” Buis adds, “This is also a great time to get in on the fun and play with your cat.”
They do their best bird imitationA weird cat behavior that often surprises pet owners is when cats chirp or trill like birds. This sound is a key element of cat body language and shows that your feline is feeling good, comfortable, engaged, and genuinely happy. “Making ‘chirping’ or ‘trilling’ sounds are often greetings or signs of friendly communication,” Gerken says.
When your cat does this, it indicates they’re relaxed and enjoying their environment, making it another sign your cat is joyful that may be looked over by some owners. So, go ahead and chirp or talk back as your cat is inviting interaction, reinforcing their contentment.
Puppy eyes get a lot of attention with pet owners, but cats have their own version of this that they use to communicate with their owner. "A cat with 'soft eyes,' is showing that they’re calm and content," Gerken says. "Couple that with relaxed whiskers and ears in a neutral position, and your kitty is expressing that they are feeling good and are happy."

Heart to Tail Pet Rain Jacket, CherriesIf you’re wondering whether it’s even necessary for your pet to have a rain jacket, that’s a pretty common question. Truth is, it really comes down to the individual pet, as some dogs or cats wouldn’t dare step a paw outside when it’s raining, while others seem to not have a care in the world.
As a general rule of thumb, smaller dogs and cats are more likely to benefit from a raincoat for warmth and coverage, while larger breeds, especially ones that love to play and get dirty outdoors, may not need the extra layer as much.
A couple things are for certain. For starters, your pet’s first time in a jacket is likely going to be a little awkward. But once they get used to it, that’s where the second thing comes in: they’ll quickly become the coolest pet on the block, strutting their walk in style.
Snag one of these adorable pet coats while they are still in stock, and while you’re there, check out Aldi’s cute birdfeeder bench and throwback Furby dog toy.

Orange Cat Channels Horror Legend for Creepy Dog Food Heist
If ever there were a pet who almost always lives up to their reputation, it's any Orange Cat at any place, any time. I don't know why, but there's something in them that forces them to do the wildest, funniest, and most chaotic things that other felines wouldn't dream of.
Ducky is here to prove this point with her ultra-creepy way of trying to grab her Pomeranian sister, Lola's, metal food bowl. The sound the bowl makes when she slinks her paw out from under a cabinet is truly worthy of Wes Craven's attention!
@lola_thepomThe orange is strong with this one 😂 #pomeranian #fyp #dog #funnydog #dogandcat
♬ original sound - LolaIf you didn't have your volume all the way up, do that, and then watch the video again for that terrifying "sching" sound. It's exactly what horror legend Robert Englund does with his knife fingers as his iconic Nightmare on Elm Street character, Freddy Krueger (and yes, I'll be having nightmares of this, so thanks, Ducky).
Even better, Lola, being the real main character in this family, plays her part, breaking the fourth wall, as if she's doing a scene from The Office! The siblings do get along, but when it comes to the Pomeranian's food, she doesn't mess around.

Like every Orange Cat I've ever seen, Ducky can't help herself. Some of her choices are questionable, like pretending to be Lola's backpack at the most inconvenient time, but hey, you do you, girl!
As long as Ducky understands how petty Lola can get, I doubt anything really fazes the bold kitty.
@lola_thepomCould Lola run away? Yes. Would she ever leave food? Absolutely not. #pomeranian #fyp #seniordog #kitten #funnydog
♬ suara asli - 𝙑𝙞𝙨.𝙘𝙤 - 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤 Female Orange Cats Are a RarityAs annoyed as Lola might feel at times, it's true that Ducky is a rare find. Most Orange Cats are male, and only 20% (or 1 in 5) are born female. The uncommon occurrence stems from the gene that dictates the tangerine-tinted fur.
Females have two X chromosomes, while males have XY. That means in order for Ducky to have been born, she needed the orange gene on both X chromosomes to be a full, complete, and unhinged Orange Cat. On the flip side, a kitten born with one X gene could be a Calico or Tortoiseshell-colored feline.
If you ask Lola, however rare Ducky is or isn't, it doesn't matter. She was made for the big screen, terrifying all pups in her path!

Great Dane Waiting for the Vet 'Looks Like He Works Security at Night'
Some dogs look nervous at the vet.
Some dogs look confused.
And then there is this giant Great Dane, who somehow manages to look like he is not here for an appointment at all; he is here to make sure everyone else has one.
@twinmarshranchOne of our pups at the vet’s office #greatdane #greatdanes #dog #funnydog
♬ Elevator Music - BohomanIn the video, we see this absolute unit standing on his hind legs, peering through the door, while he and his person wait for the vet to come in. It is such a simple moment, but the visual is unreal. He is so tall, so serious-looking, and so weirdly human in that position that it immediately feels like he should be wearing an earpiece and checking a clipboard.
If I were that vet and I opened the door to see him standing there like that, I would absolutely have to collect myself first.
Because that is not just a dog waiting.
That is a grown man on the night shift.
The commenters knew exactly what was happening, too. One person wrote, “That's a grown-a*s man,” which is honestly the only correct response. Another said, “Does the vet owe him money?” and yes, that is exactly the vibe. He is not looking through that door like a patient. He is looking through it like someone who has been patient long enough.
That is what makes the clip so funny. Great Danes are already huge, so whenever they do something even slightly human-looking, it immediately becomes comedy gold. But this guy takes it to another level. He is not bouncing around or being goofy. He is standing there with the full energy of a bouncer who has seen enough nonsense for one evening and would like to speak to management.
And honestly, my dog Lola’s protective nature would disappear instantly if she saw him. She would start loud, then take one look at this long-legged wall of dog and decide maybe the neighborhood can protect itself for a while.
Vet visits are usually associated with anxious little pacing, some whining, maybe a treat bribe or two. This Great Dane turned the waiting room into a private security operation. He made “waiting for the vet” look like “guarding the back entrance to a warehouse nightclub.”
And somehow, he still looks lovable.
This guy is enormous, serious, and unintentionally hilarious, which is pretty much the perfect recipe for a viral pet moment.
Big Dogs Need Calm Vet Routines, TooFunny as this is, giant dogs can still feel real stress at the vet, even when they look incredibly composed. VCA Hospitals notes that reducing fear around veterinary visits often comes down to keeping things calm, using treats and praise, getting dogs comfortable with handling at home, and building positive associations with the clinic over time.
If you have a very large dog, it also helps to practice basic skills before appointments, such as waiting calmly, following a treat lure, standing for brief handling, and getting in and out of the car without drama. VCA Hospitals also recommends watching for subtle signs of anxiety and slowing things down when needed, because dogs often show stress before they fully melt down.
Honestly, he looked less like he was waiting for the vet and more like he was there to audit the building.

Boxer Dog Has Big Feelings About Human Baby Getting Burped
Some dogs mind their business. Some dogs absolutely do not. And this Boxer? He is deeply, personally invested in what is happening to that baby.
The caption doesn’t even need to explain much because you can hear it. Off camera, his mom is burping the baby, gently patting his back and saying, “I’m just burping him, I’m not hurting him,” and this dog is like… I do not believe you.
@amoneyroordaHe’s fine just won’t burp 👹 #babiesoftiktok #boxerdogsoftiktok #babysanddogs #protective #fypシ
♬ original sound - a moneyIn the clip shared on the @amoneyroorda TikTok account, the brown Boxer is whimpering, whining, and then escalating into full barking, like he is about to file a formal complaint. Meanwhile, his black-and-white Boxer brother has clearly been through this before. He calmly reaches over, taps him on the back with his paw, like, “Hey. We talked about this. Relax.”
The comments were incredible.
Related: Bernese Mountain Dog Falling in Love With Newborn Baby Is Too Precious
“Emotional support dog has an emotional support dog,” one person wrote, which is exactly the dynamic.
“Dude, what? We talked about this!” another added, and yes. That is exactly the vibe of the second dog.
"The other one is like, 'Come on, dude, we do this every day!'" which feels very accurate.
“Boxers are such nanny dogs,” someone shared, telling a story about their Boxer watching over their baby constantly, which honestly explains everything we’re seeing here.
“The other dog like, ‘Chill bro, it’s OK,’” and “He’s so concerned,” which sums up both sides perfectly.
And then just, “The other one is like calm down,” which… yes. Please.
I keep watching the moment where he tries to intervene emotionally, and his brother is like, absolutely not, we are not doing this today. The roles are so clear. One is panicking. One is the other one's therapist.
Are Boxers Good With Kids? A Boxer dog with a little kid.Image Via: Anna Hoychuk/Shutterstock

Boxers are often known for being incredibly good with kids, which is why you’ll sometimes hear them described as “nanny dogs.” They tend to be affectionate, protective, and very tuned in to what’s happening around them, especially when it comes to their family.
Their playful and energetic nature also makes them great companions for active households, and they often form strong bonds with children. At the same time, that sensitivity can show up as concern, like in this video, where the dog is reacting to something he doesn’t fully understand.
As with any breed, early socialization and training are important to help them feel confident and calm in different situations. Supervision around babies and young kids is always key, too.
But overall, Boxers are known for their loyalty and their big, expressive personalities. Which sometimes means stepping in emotionally… even when no one asked.

'Apartment' Golden Retriever Finally Gets His Own House and We Can't Stop Smiling
Some dog breeds are considered more sedentary than others. Bulldogs, Pugs, and Shih-Tzus are a few examples of canines that would rather cuddle on the couch than run around the yard. Breeds like Labradors, Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, and Huskies love wide open spaces to burn off lots of energy.
Gus the Golden Retriever was used to apartment living and just got a big surprise with a lot more space.
@arcshop96our last home didnt have a yard & he has always loooooved laying in the grass at our parents. we thought he would be nervous moving to a new place, but he has been so at home since day one!
♬ âm thanh gốc - pocoupleuks - pocoupleuksIn the TikTok from @arcshop96, Gus sat in the car and had no idea what he was about to see. His mom opened the car door and led him inside their new house. The video explained why this was such a monumental moment.
"Taking our 'apartment dog' to his first house with a yard," the onscreen text explained.
Gus explored his new home with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. He pranced through the wide open space of the living room as the sunlight poured in. The joy on his face perfectly expressed how he felt about his new home.
"Do you like it?" his mom asked the precious pooch. "This is Gus's house! And you're gonna have a yard for the first time."
Gus looked out the sliding glass doors and saw a sprawling backyard with beautiful grass. He was probably picturing himself running through it at top speed with nothing holding him back.
Gus Adjusted Very QuicklyApparently, the gorgeous Golden had to go to his grandparents' to get his yard fix, so his mom was overjoyed that she could finally give him one of his own. Gus has had no problem getting acclimated to his new digs.

Tiny Maltipoo’s Hilarious Way of "Helping" Mom Bike Is Cuteness Overload
If you’ve ever stretched and your dog stretched right after, you’ve seen it. If you’ve ever yawned and your dog followed suit, it's the same thing. Well, following this logic, if you're cycling, then your dog is cycling too, and that was just the case with a pup named Maggie-Sue.
So, what makes Maggie-Sue so special? She is a tiny white Maltipoo who does not just ride along on her mom's bike—she participates.
In a Reddit video shared to the r/Maltipoo subreddit, we see her securely strapped into a dog carrier her human wears while cycling. But this dog does not sit idly by while the scenery passes. Instead, her legs move in a rapid, rhythmic pedaling motion in the air, perfectly mimicking the circular gait of the human pedaling behind her.
It's not trained. It's not prompted.
It just happens. And once you notice it, you can't unsee it.
Redditors Loved Maggie-Sue's AthleticismThe summer Olympics may be a few years away, but according to one Redditor, Maggie-Sue will be ready to hit the ground running (or should we say cycling). One person commented, “She’s training for the Olympics,” and Maggie-Sue's mom replied, “Gold medal incoming.”
Another person captured something deeper with this comment: "This is the most precious thing i've ever seen. She really loves her mama so much that she wants to be just like her!"
Related: Surprising Study Finds Poodle Mixes May Show More Behavioral Issues Than Expected
Dogs Copy UsThat last observation might sound like just a cute comment on a video, but there is genuine science behind it. Dogs don't just watch us. They copy us.
They are natural social learners. Research in animal cognition has shown that dogs can learn by observing human actions. Some pet parents even use it to train their dogs, which is a method sometimes called "Do as I do" that teaches them to replicate actions on cue.
Maybe your dog “digs” at the couch when you’re fixing blankets. Maybe they paw at things when you’re using your hands a lot. Maybe they get unusually focused when you’re doing something repetitive.
These moments feel small, but they reveal how closely dogs study us.
The bond between Maggie-Sue and her mom is not just visible in the pedaling. It is visible in the way she sits calmly in her carrier, completely unbothered by the wind and the movement, because the one person who makes the world feel safe is right behind her.
For Maggie-Sue, the bike is not a strange machine. It is just another place where her mom is.
And that, more than any scientific explanation, is what the internet fell in love with. Not the trick. Not the coincidence. Just a small dog, doing her best to keep up with the human she loves most.
She is not just along for the ride. She is trying to be part of it in the only way she knows how.

Bull Mastiff Who's Mesmerized Watching Cartoons for the First Time Will Steal Your Heart
There's nothing like a good TV show to help you relax, unwind, and slip away from reality. Whether you enjoy a movie or a series, chances are you look forward to it and the opportunity to tune out the rest of the world.
While we tend to think of TV viewing as a human activity, pets appreciate it, too. In fact, one Bull Mastiff is completely riveted by a cartoon, and it's the sweetest thing you'll see all day. Take a look at this clip shared on TikTok.

This person is one of many who shared that they want their fur babies to have company throughout the day, even if it's simply the sights and sounds of the television.
"I leave that on my TV when I have to leave the house for my dogs. They watch it, too. It's calming for them 🤣🤣🥰," someone else explained in the comments.
It sure does seem to have Fonzee hypnotized!
Do All Dogs Enjoy Television?Dogs may not enjoy television in the ways we do—chances are they're not in it for the drama of a reality show or the suspense of a police procedural—but they do appreciate the sounds and motions on the screen, experts say.
If you're unfamiliar with Siesta Dog TV, you can find it on YouTube. As Fonzee's family noted, it features colors that dogs can see and also includes background music that's proven calming for pets. It lasts for 8 hours and takes pets on a cartoon adventure through New York City. Now, if only smells were included, pups would be in heaven!
We're glad Fonzee is so content! But what happens when he wants total control of the remote? Just kidding!
Doodle Going Crazy in Kiddie Pool Wipes Out and Gets Right Back to It
You can tell within 2 seconds that Oscar has already decided this is the best day of his life. No buildup, no hesitation, just immediate, full-body joy. The caption says, “Watch me, Mom! Ooos… I’m OK, I’m OK!! Let's do it again!!!” and that is exactly the energy. No thoughts, just splash.
In the clip, this big blond Doodle is out on a concrete patio, absolutely losing his mind in a kiddie pool while “Splish Splash” plays like it was written specifically for him. He is jumping, spinning, zooming straight toward his mom, who's filming like he needs her to witness every second of this masterpiece. And then it happens. Full somersault. Complete wipeout. Legs everywhere. Dignity gone.
And he pops right back up as if nothing happened.
Straight back into the pool. No reflection. No learning. Just happy, crazy kiddie pool splashing vibes.
@eliserx1958Watch me Mom! Ooos… I’m ok, I’m ok!! Let do it again!!!
♬ Splish Splash - Bobby DarinIn the clip by @eliserx1958, no one is having as much fun in a kiddie pool as Oscar.
“Now give him a turkey sandwich with Doritos in it,” one person wrote, which feels like the correct post-pool reward situation.
“That baby is gonna sleep good tonight, ya hear me?” another added, and yes. This is the kind of exhaustion you earn.

“Cuteness overload for this little one,” someone said, which is an understatement considering he just stuck a perfect 10 somersault. “That somersault was a perfect 10,” another person wrote, and honestly, the recovery alone deserves extra points.
“He’s having him a good old time,” and you can feel it. Like you can physically feel his excitement through the screen.
“I can feel his excitement and fun through the phone!” someone else said, which is exactly it! It is contagious.
“There’s nothing better than a happy dog!! I can’t stop watching,” and same. I watched it an embarrassing number of times.
And then, “That is the sweetest thing… never thought of just buying a cheap pool and letting them jump around in the water,” which honestly might have just started something in a lot of backyards.
“He’s having the best time, absolutely adorable,” and yes. No notes.
I keep thinking about my own pets in this situation. Kingston would dip one paw in, panic, and leave forever.
Why Do Dogs Love Kiddie Pools So Much? Two dogs playing in a kiddie pool.Image Via: Sari ONeal/Shutterstock

Kiddie pools hit everything dogs love at once. Water, movement, and the chance to cool off, especially on warm days. For high-energy pups like Doodles, it is basically a playground. They can jump, splash, spin, and burn off energy in a way that feels exciting instead of structured.
Related: Golden Retriever Gets Her Own Kiddie Pool and the Sweetness Is Truly Unmatched
Water also adds a whole new sensory experience. The sound, the feel, the way it moves when they step in it—it all keeps them engaged. For some dogs, it becomes a game they invent on their own, which is exactly what Oscar is doing here.
It's also a great way to help dogs stay cool, especially breeds with thicker coats. Just a few minutes of splashing can make a big difference when temperatures start climbing.
That said, even shallow water needs supervision. Never leave a dog unattended in a kiddie pool, even if it seems small. Slipping, jumping, or getting too excited can lead to accidents, especially on hard surfaces like concrete.
But when done safely, you get moments like this. Pure, ridiculous, joyful chaos. And apparently, the occasional accidental somersault.

Orange Cat Visits Kitty Brother in the ER and Goes Into Caretaker Mode
Our fur babies can sense when their loved ones are suffering or in distress. Their compassion and empathy are seen in everyday life as well as service roles like a therapy dog or cat, bringing much-needed comfort and support for those who are sick or dealing with sadness.
Alti the orange cat was recently separated from his baby brother, Verbier, who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The older sibling got to see his kitty sibling in the emergency room for a quick visit and quickly stepped up as big brother.
@twintabbyboysOlder brother visits younger brother in ER. Young brother, Verbier, has congestive heart failure. 💔 Please send love and prayers to get Verbier healthy enough to go home. #catsoftiktok #brothers #twins #cats #kitty
♬ original sound - Alti & VerbierAlti waited for his baby brother in the examination room until Verbier arrived in a carrier.
"There he is!" their mom said when Verbier was brought in. "Are you excited to see your brother?"
Alti immediately greeted his sibling with a meow and sniffed the carrier when it was set down next to him on the table.
"Verbier, he missed you so much!" their mother shared. "I don't know who missed you more — me or him."
The veterinary technician unzipped the carrier as Verbier's mom gave him some pets. Alti didn't hesitate to stick his head inside to get as close to his brother as possible and let out some hisses. Then he curled up right next to Verbier in a protective position, almost like he was shielding his little brother from any possible danger while getting in some snuggles.
Followers were moved by the brotherly bond and the care and compassion Alti showed Verbier.
"He doesn’t want anyone touching his brother," someone pointed out.
"How dare you make me so worried! Move over, we're cuddlin'!" one joked.
"He went straight into protection mode — WOW," another remarked.
"He's hissing because he wants to protect his brother — he said nobody is touching him again," a follower noted.
Cats Hiss at Unfamiliar SmellsFollowers suggested that Alti's hisses may have been prompted by the smell of anesthesia coming from his brother. Cats are known to react by hissing when exposed to foreign scents at the vet's office, whether from their own smell or a fellow pet. Alti's vocal responses could have been a combination of excitement, protection, and uncertainty over specific aromas he encountered.
Regardless of the scent in the air, Alti is clearly committed to helping Verbier through every step of his recovery journey.

Senior Munchkin Cat Legit Uses Human Words and People Can't Believe It
Some pets make noise.
Some pets make points.
And then there is Nonna, a senior Munchkin cat who appears to have decided human language is close enough and everyone else can just keep up. In this video, she is first caught on the security camera at the top of the stairs, absolutely unloading her thoughts into the universe. Then Mom catches her on the phone, coming down the stairs, because apparently the first statement was not enough and a follow-up was required.
@munchkinstevieNonna was feeling REAL chatty! She had so much to say, even if it was from the top of the stairs... she eventually came down to make sure we knew her news! #talkingcat #seniorcats #munchkincat
♬ original sound - Stevie & NonnaThe caption on the video says, “Just caught on camera my senior cat using human words... no big deal.” Which is obviously the funniest possible way to present something that is, in fact, a very big deal when you hear it. The post caption doubles down: “Nonna was feeling REAL chatty! She had so much to say, even if it was from the top of the stairs... she eventually came down to make sure we knew her news!” That is exactly the energy here. This is not random meowing. This is an announcement.
Nonna is not quietly testing out a little sound and hoping someone notices. She is speaking with urgency, commitment, and the exact tone of someone who absolutely will repeat herself until the room is listening. By the time she starts coming down the stairs, it really does feel like she has decided the household response time has been unacceptable.
The comments are perfect, too. One person wrote, “I have a stray in my backyard, and every time he walks into my house, he is very chatty all over my house 😭😭. I haven’t been able to capture it on camera.” That is part of why this lands so hard. Cat people know these moments. Felines act like tiny, weird roommates with secret emotional weather systems, and every now and then, one of them sounds so weirdly human you genuinely have to stop what you are doing.
And honestly, if my dog Lola could talk, we would be in trouble. She already has plenty to say with just a look. Actual words would finish me. But Nonna? She is already there. She does not need permission. She has news. She has follow-up news. And she will be taking no further questions because she is still in the middle of the story.
Some Cats Really Do Build a Language With UsAs funny as Nonna, the senior Munchkin, sounds, cats do use vocalizations in flexible ways around humans. International Cat Care notes that kitties communicate through vocal and nonvocal signals, and PetMD notes that meows can be used to ask for attention, food, access, or interaction. That is part of why some cats really do seem like they are “talking” to their people in a personalized way.
A good rule is to pay attention to patterns, not just volume. If your cat has a certain stair-meow, dinner-meow, or I-have-important-business meow, that is part of your shared routine.
Honestly, Nonna came down those stairs like she was late to her own press conference.

Black Oriental Shorthair Kitty at Cat Show Looks Like a Spider Made of Pipe Cleaners
The second you see the furbaby in the clip below, your brain does a full glitchy-glitch. Because yes, technically this is a cat. But also… what if someone took a handful of pipe cleaners, gave them opinions, and sent them to a cat show?
In the clip, this long, impossibly slender black Oriental Shorthair is being held up while the handler calmly describes him, like everything about this situation is normal. Meanwhile, his limbs just keep going. And going. And his little face is so sharp and expressive, it feels like he might whisper something judgmental at any moment. He looks like a spider. Made out of pipe cleaners. By a preschool student who has never seen a cat before.

♬ original sound - MyuuThe clip was shared on TikTok by @kuttheknit, and the comments absolutely spiraled in the best way.
“What a lovely entity,” one person wrote, which feels like the correct, respectful approach when you are not entirely sure what you are looking at.
“He’s so long,” another added, and honestly, that is the main takeaway. Length. Just… length.

“That’s a piece of lint,” someone said, which is rude but also not entirely wrong. A very elegant piece of lint.
“He’s so stringy. I love him.” Same. Deeply same.
“Does he know he’s famous?” another commenter asked, and I feel like he does. He has the energy of someone who knows exactly what he’s doing.
“I know he honks instead of meows,” which, if you have ever met an Oriental Shorthair, is not even a joke. Those kitties have opinions, and they will share them loudly.
“What brand is the pasta noodle?” took me out completely.
“He looks like a stick,” and then, my personal favorite, “He’s so sploinky,” which somehow captures everything.
I keep thinking about how Meatball would react to this cat. He would stare for a long time, slowly sit down, and then knock something over just to reestablish dominance. This cat, meanwhile, would simply elongate further and continue existing like a living piece of modern art.

Are Oriental Shorthair Cats Good Pets? Two Oriental Shorthair cats lying next to each other.Image Via: VittoriaChe/Shutterstock
Oriental Shorthair cats are actually known for being incredibly social, affectionate, and very, very vocal. They tend to form strong bonds with their people and are not shy about demanding attention, conversation, and involvement in whatever you are doing.
They are also highly intelligent and curious, which means they like stimulation. Toys, climbing spaces, interaction, they want all of it. A bored Oriental Shorthair will absolutely find ways to entertain themselves, and you may or may not enjoy those choices.
Because of their sleek build and short coat, they are more sensitive to cold than fluffier breeds, so they tend to seek out warm spots; ideally, your lap.
Personality-wise, they are big. Like, way bigger than you would expect from such a thin, delicate-looking feline. They are playful, expressive, and sometimes a little dramatic, which honestly feels on-brand after watching this one.
So yes, they may look like a pipe cleaner with opinions, but they are also loving, loyal, and endlessly entertaining companions. And occasionally, they will honk at you for no reason. Which you just have to accept.
