My German Shepherd Loves Snuggling on This Cozy Dog Bed—And it Has Some Features I Love Too

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 2:50pm

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Dog beds have always been a point of contention for us and our German Shepherd pup, Grizzly. When he was a puppy, we went to Costco and got him a giant fluffy bed that he could grow into. A week later, it was a giant pile of stuffing with shreds of fabric mixed in. I was determined to give him a place, so I moved to a low-fill flat bed. It had a slightly longer lifecycle but met the same end.

From then on, we swore off all things fluff-based and settled for an elevated cot-like bed, which was perfect for summer and works for the winter. But I've always felt terrible that he didn't have something cozier to snuggle into during the winter months. When we got the opportunity to try Bedsure's orthopedic bed, I was a little hesitant. However, I am thrilled we gave it a shot, because it is not only still in one piece, it's one of his favorite spots in the house.

Bedsure SupportMax Orthopedic Waterproof Cover Dog Bed, $72.99 at Chewy

The Bedsure SupportMax Orthopedic dog bed may arrive vacuum-sealed in a small package, but don't let its initial small size throw you off. After a little fluffing and airing, the bed becomes an incredibly comfortable perch for your pup.

The interior has three separate bolsters, creating an even space for your pup that won't shift or flatten with use. They provide support for your pup's head and relieve pressure on their joints and spines. As dogs age, they need all the support they can get. While Grizz is only 4, as a larger dog, I think he appreciates it being firm and supportive, so he doesn't feel like he is sinking into the bed.

The cover is an incredibly soft sherpa material that Grizzly immediately rubbed his nose into before snuggling up. For half a second, I was a little worried that all that aggressive nose rubbing was going to lead to him chewing on it. But he surprised me and hasn't given the bed so much as a nibble.

Instead, he seems to have made it his mission to find as many different ways as possible to sleep on it. By far my favorite is him smooshing his face into the corner of the small bolster, while the rest of his body flops off the edge. I can't begin to understand how that is comfortable, but he sleeps like that, or some variation of it, the majority of the time, and seems pretty happy with his life choices.

And I'm thrilled that the cover is both waterproof and washable. Despite trying to keep him clean and dry throughout the winter and now into the coming spring, I know I'm going to have to wash it here pretty soon. Though in the two months we've had it, the bed has stayed relatively clean. While we have carpet where he sleeps, I know many pet parents will also appreciate the non-slip bottom that helps keep it in place for pups on hardwood.

The bed comes in navy (which is what Grizzly has), grey, brown and beige. It's available in medium to extra-large pro sizes, supporting pups from 40 to 120 pounds. Lengthwise, the medium measures 35 inches, the large 38 inches, the x-large 42 inches, and the x-large pro 45 inches. Medium is 25 inches wide, large is 28 inches, x-large is 30 inches, and the x-large pro is 32 inches of foam-filled support.

One thrilled dog mom writes on Chewy's product page, "Accurate dimensions for the medium. Beige color true to picture. Fluffed up nice and firm after 24 hours. Most importantly, the kid settled right in. His measurements are 32” head to tail, and 25” at the shoulder, and he weighs about 50ish lbs. He fits perfectly on the medium (smallest size available). Haven't had to test the waterproof feature yet, and I hope I don’t have to, but it doesn’t make the bed noisy, crunchy, or anything. Maybe the best bed he’s ever had."

I have to agree. This may be the best bed I've ever had for Grizzly, and it seems like it is going to last for quite some time.

Pregnant Cat Found Injured on the Streets—Now This Resilient Feline Is Living Her Best Life

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 1:55pm

A cat who survived a brutal dog attack while pregnant is now enjoying a life filled with cuddles, love and plenty of squeezable treats, thanks to the people who refused to give up on her.

The resilient feline, originally named Aphrodite, was found badly injured on the streets of Mexico. Fortunately, she survived the dog attack and was taken to a local pet hospital, where staff cared for her while she gave birth and nursed her babies.

After two months, Aphrodite and her two surviving kittens were transferred to the Cat Lounge Rescue and Adoption Center, a rescue in La Jolla Shores, Calif., dedicated to helping cats find loving homes.

Her two kittens were adopted together and are now thriving in their new home. Aphrodite, however, still needed significant medical care upon arrival at the rescue.

Injuries Discovered During Her Intake

The Cat Lounge Rescue and Adoption Center

During her intake exam, the rescue team discovered she was covered in scabs, had severe ear mites, and her spay incision site was open and infected. X-rays also revealed something even more shocking: four broken ribs and a small spinal injury.

Considering she had recently given birth while enduring those injuries, the discovery was both heartbreaking and a testament to just how strong she was.

The rescue immediately brought her to a partner veterinary clinic. There, veterinarians treated the infected incision, closed the wound with staples and started her on antibiotics. Imaging confirmed the spinal injury, but fortunately, it was not causing neurological issues.

Because she needed careful monitoring while healing, Aphrodite was placed with one of the rescue's foster caregivers. During her recovery, she wore a small protective onesie to keep her from chewing at her incision—although she reportedly went through several of them after repeatedly ripping them off.

Her Sassy Personality Comes Out

The Cat Lounge Rescue and Adoption Center

Even while recovering from painful injuries, Aphrodite's personality shone through. According to the rescue team, she was incredibly sweet, gentle and affectionate. "You never would have had any idea that she was in so much pain," the rescue shared with Parade Pets. "She just totally stole our hearts."

Once she healed, that gentle demeanor evolved into something even more spirited.

"She turned into the sassiest little girl," the rescue shared, explaining that she became talkative, playful and eager for attention.

A New Name and a Happy EndingMochi (0:05)

It didn't take long for someone to fall in love with her. Aphrodite was soon adopted by a military couple, who also adopted a kitten from the rescue at the same time. In her new home, Aphrodite received a new name: Mochi.

According to her new family, Mochi quickly settled in and made it clear she loves attention.

She also has a favorite activity. "Miss Mochi loves watching tv. Put on some cats goofin around and she'll watch it FOREVER. Might need to limit her screen time 😂," her new mom shared.

Mochi also bonded quickly with the kitten her adopters brought home at the same time, Hazelnut Nutella Spread. The two get along wonderfully, and Mochi has taken on a bit of a motherly role, treating the kitten as if she's her own.

After everything she endured, Mochi's story is a powerful reminder of how resilience and care from the right people can completely change a life.

Dennis Quaid's Bulldog 'Peaches' Leaves TODAY Anchors in Stitches With Her Unbothered Attitude

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 12:32pm

If you looked up the word blasé in the dictionary, you would probably see a photo of Peaches the Bulldog. The "unbothered queen" accompanied her well-known dad, Dennis Quaid, to his appearance on the TODAY show recently, and stole the show without barking a word. As the cameras rolled, Peaches kept her distance on the couch, dressed in an adorable bandana befitting her name, and with an expression that alternated between indifference and boredom. She went as far as to give everyone the side-eye, causing Al Roker, in particular, to lose himself in laughter.

As the caption reads: "She's sweet, she's sassy, she's Peaches!"

@todayshow

She's sweet, she's sassy, she's Peaches! 🍑 #DennisQuaid #DogDad

♬ original sound - TODAY Show - TODAY Show

No matter how uproarious the humans found her, Peaches never broke. She remained over it.

As one funny viewer commented about her attitude, "'This could have been an email'” - Peaches probably."

Another fan had the best idea I've heard in a while: "Can we make this a thing? Like just bring in celebrities' puppies?"

Yes, please. More Peaches, STAT!

Bulldogs: The Easygoing Breed

As funny as we all found Peaches' TV debut, her laid-back demeanor is on par with Bulldog behavior overall. Bulldogs may look tough with their wrinkled faces and stocky build, but their personality is famously gentle. The breed is known for being sweet, devoted, and easygoing, with a calm temperament that makes them great companions for families.

Bulldogs tend to be affectionate and people-oriented. They thrive (tolerate, LOL?) on human attention and are especially loyal to their families, often forming strong bonds with the people they live with. Many are also patient with children and can live peacefully with other pets when properly socialized.

Modern Bulldogs are far removed from their historical roots in bull-baiting. Today, the breed standard describes them as kind, courageous, and steady-tempered rather than aggressive.

In everyday life, Bulldogs are generally low-energy dogs who prefer lounging near their humans to intense exercise. Their relaxed personality and adaptability make them well-suited to a variety of living situations — including apartments — as long as they get attention and companionship.

But don't expect the attention to make a real impression. As Peaches has shown us, Bulldogs are all chill even when at the center of the national spotlight.

Golden Retriever's Annoyance Over Mom Moving Dog Bed Is Priceless

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 12:30pm

Many dogs tend to be creatures of habit, so if you've gotten a little attitude for moving one of their prized possessions, you're definitely in good company. As often as I try to leave my dog's things undisturbed, sometimes, you just have to clean, which might require moving some of your dog's stuff.

But when this Golden Retriever discovered that her mom had moved her bed, all bets were off. You can mess with anything but the bed!

@wailea_and_hana

How did she even get up there #goldenretriever #dogtok #goldensoftiktok #waileaandhana

♬ Monkeyshine-JP - Lt FitzGibbons Men

As Mom explained in this video shared by @eailea_and_hana on TikTok, she was simply cleaning the room that her dog's bed was in and moved it to the couch so she could clean the floor.

But her pup wasn't about to let that happen, so instead, she got on the bed where it was on top of the couch — and she looked supremely annoyed the entire time.

This is the kind of drama that many dogs are known for bringing over the smallest inconveniences, and yes, it's adorable, even if I totally get why she wouldn't want her bed to be moved. That's just the way it is sometimes, kid!

Dogs Can Get Mad at People (Sometimes)

Judging by the look on this dog's face, I can tell that she must be able to hold a truly impressive grudge — that is not the expression of a dog who is willing to hand out forgiveness to just anyone!

But do dogs get mad in the way that humans do? According to Rover, the angry behaviors you're seeing after you've done something that your dog didn't like (including moving their bed) might not necessarily be aimed at you, but at the situation. In other words? Usually, it's not that deep.

The site notes that the best way to deal with this kind of behavior when it comes up is to simply avoid approaching them. Give them some space, and they'll come around again eventually.

And maybe, in the future, think twice about moving your dog's bed. How dare anyone try to clean their own home?!

Bernese Mountain Puppy 'Zooms Straight Into the Mirror' and the Result Is Pure Chaos

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 11:30am

Bringing home a new puppy can be one of the most joyful experiences in our lives, and at the same time, also the most challenging. No matter how cute and special your new puppy is, they're going to need a little training... both for their potty breaks and as they learn how to conduct themselves now that they're part of a forever family.

Unfortunately, these puppy months mean that disasters both big and small are basically inevitable, and what happened with this Bernese Mountain Puppy is the perfect example of what can happen when your puppy is at their most chaotic!

@sherman.da.berner

Zoomied straight into the mirror! #puppiesoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #fyp #bernesemountaindog #puppy

♬ origineel geluid - Tik Toker

In this video that was recently shared by @sherman.da.berner on TikTok, we see the aftermath of a puppy named Sherman having way too many zoomies indoors: A very, very broken mirror.

He really did make a mess — there are countless shards of glass everywhere as a result of Sherman having "zoomied straight into the mirror," as his mom explained.

To his credit, this puppy does look incredibly remorseful, staring into the house from outside the back door. Clearly, he's very sorry about this!

Related: Bernese Mountain Dog Crushes 'First Days as Big Brother' in Adorable Clip

Bernese Mountain Puppies Have Plenty of Energy

Just in case this video isn't enough proof for you, multiple outlets like Rover have confirmed that these puppies do, indeed, have wild amounts of energy!

However, this is mostly because they're puppies, and all puppies are going to have more energy to burn than younger dogs. They're also going to be a bit more curious and mischievous in their brand new environments. Add the fact that zoomies are typically more intense in younger dogs, and it can be a recipe for destruction (or at the very least exhaustion for their parents).

The good news? These super high levels of energy are temporary. By the time they become adult dogs, Bernese Mountain Dogs are considered to have a "moderate" energy level and can thrive on 20-30 minutes of exercise a day, which is pretty manageable.

Just make sure you puppy proof the house before bringing a dog like this home for the first time, or you might just end up missing a mirror, too.

Cockatoo Watching 'His Donkeys' Play Is the Best Manager

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 11:00am

Cockatoos are good at a lot of different things. They're good at flying, talking back, learning tricks, and apparently... Managing. It makes sense, given that they're so bossy, but it's still always funny to see a Cockatoo really taking charge!

One Cockatoo lives at an animal sanctuary that specializes in caring for donkeys. He loves to watch them, but when they get a little too rowdy, he has no problem going full Kris-Jenner-style Momager on them:

@hardtimes.sanctuary

#hardtimessanctuary #fyp #cockatoolove #donkeylove

♬ Austin Powers Theme (Soul Bossa Nova) - N.Y. Jazz Orchestra

Hard Times Sanctuary has lots of cute donkeys, and they're super respectful, too. Once they notice their manager calling them over, they stop playing immediately and listen. The one on the far left end looks like he's thinking, "This meeting could have been an email."

This is the only video on their account that features this bird, but it's plenty. I think it shows exactly what he does all day: watches his donkey besties play, resolves conflicts when they arise, and looks very handsome in his harness. No flying away for him!

Related: Super Smart Cockatoo's Fancy Spins Can't Be Beat

The donkeys at Hard Times sanctuary are all rescues, as the name suggests, and they needed a soft place to land. Luckily, this up-and-coming sanctuary is exactly that! There are so many donkeys there, and they're all very goofy and playful:

@hardtimes.sanctuary

#shmellow #hardtimessanctuary #fyp #allgoodthings

♬ Do you guys smell that - Savage

The Cockatoo definitely has his work cut out for him, trying to manage all of these silly guys. Luckily, his voice is loud enough that he can call out to Mom whenever he needs some backup!

Cockatoos Are Observers

One of the best ways to provide a Cockatoo with enrichment (which they definitely need to prevent them from becoming bored) is to allow them to observe the things around them. Cockatoos are nosy. Some of their favorite things to watch are:

  • The people they love as they move throughout their day.
  • Other animals.
  • Kids/neighbors in their neighborhood.
  • Nature.

There are plenty of ways to do this: you can put them on a leash, in a stroller, or in a backpack, and take them outside. Sitting them by a window works, too! Just be careful: they might try to micro-manage everyone!

Foster Shih-Tzu Meets a Puppy for the First Time and the Unexpected Result Is Too Cute

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 10:10am

Well-known animal advocate Isabel Klee is enjoying her time with her latest foster dog, Raven the Shih-Tzu. The precious pooch recently had surgery to remove a mass from her hind end and is flourishing through her recovery. Raven has to undergo another operation soon, so Klee is making sure she has plenty of fun before her next procedure.

The foster fur baby was introduced to a rambunctious puppy named Joey for some playtime, but was immediately taken aback by the pup's energy level.

@simonsits

Some puppy cuteness for your weekend 🥰 Joey will be available for adoption soon through @Muddy Paws Rescue!

♬ sonido original - 𝒄☆𝒑𝒑𝒚 ♫

The TikTok from @simonsits set the stage for Raven's inaugural interaction with an adorable brown puppy who was a pure bundle of activity.

"Raven is about to meet a puppy for the very first time," Klee shared before Joey was let loose.

The canine cuties both dressed for the occasion — Joey sported a striped polo sweater, and Raven was adorned in her pearl-like beaded collar. Joey didn't hesitate in approaching Raven with plenty of sniffs and tail wags. The Shih-Tzu automatically put her guard up, unsure of this peppy pup's playfulness.

A French Bulldog was also a part of the playgroup and seemed more open to Joey's vitality. Raven, though, intermittently stuck by Klee's side, still trying to make sense of the puppy's all-out exuberance.

"Raven has no idea what to do with this dog," Klee said with a laugh.

Raven Attempted Some Interaction

Raven screwed up her courage a few times and attempted to calmly engage the pup but quickly got overwhelmed by Joey's excitement. When the Shih-Tzu took solace at Klee's knee, Joey didn't pick up on her need for space and ambushed her privacy bubble with more playing.

Klee was charmed by the scene and had some cuddles with the baby pooch. Raven sent the social cues that she needed a break.

Followers got a kick out of the interaction and noted the contrasting personalities of the pooches.

"Watching Joey makes me simultaneously ecstatic and exhausted," one remarked.

"Ravens like what is thaaatttt??" another pointed out.

"From a technical perspective, how did you fast-forward just the puppy and keep everyone else at slow motion?" someone asked.

Raven may ask her mom for a break from puppy playdates for a while.

Big Boy German Shepherd 'Brings Baby to Bed" in Sweet Clip

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 10:00am

German Shepherds may be intimidating, but they're big babies. As long as you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you... Unless you're not giving them what they want, then they won't be so nice.

One German Shepherd might be the nicest boy of all: at bedtime recently, he decided he wanted to bring his baby to bed. It's just too precious:

@mommabearatx

#germanshepherd #love #puppy

♬ original sound - JEYYBI - JEYYBI

Mama Davy got a lot of demands in these comments: everyone wanted to make sure her German Shepherd, Max, got to keep his baby on the bed. Don't worry; she would never kick him or his baby off!

Related: German Shepherds Watch Happy Baby Splash With Pure Gleeful Joy

Max is hilarious. He came into his forever home in July of 2024 as a foster fail; at the time, he had a brother named Bookier. Booker has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, unfortunately, but Max is carrying on his legacy well. When he first arrived, he had heartworm, but they got him back in shape quickly.

This boy is so bad, and he's lucky he's very cute. He's gotten kicked out of daycare, sprayed by a skunk, and he lives to get dirty. But it's all worth it, mostly because of how precious he and his "baby" are:

@mommabearatx

#germanshepherd #love

♬ original sound - JEYYBI - JEYYBI

Clearly, Max is missing having a buddy. In the comments, his mama said she's going to get him a living, breathing buddy sometime soon. I can't wait to see it happen!

Do German Shepherds Need Siblings?

Max is definitely missing his brother, and that's to be expected: if a dog is used to having another dog around, odds are, they're going to be a little unhappy when they don't have one anymore. Until he gets a new buddy, it's him and his baby against the world!

German Shepherds do not necessarily need to have a sibling, but they do need companionship. As an intelligent, working breed, German Shepherds need:

  • Mental stimulation.
  • Rigorous training.
  • Established routines.

A sibling can certainly help keep a German Shepherd entertained, but they're not a substitute for interaction with you, either. Whether a sibling is needed or not is up to you and your family!

Golden Retriever's Gentleness Around 'Extra Spicy' Ragdoll Kittens Couldn't Be Sweeter

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 9:20am

Bringing a new baby or babies into the family can be challenging. Often, older siblings or pets are a bit put off by the new additions and not always as warm and welcoming as we hope they'd be. It's an adjustment for everyone!

But in this case, it's a litter of spicy kittens who seem a bit reluctant to embrace their Golden Retriever sibling. In a sweet clip on TikTok, we meet Lucy, the Golden Retriever, who is helping new cat mama Josie care for her brood of Ragdolls. Rather than appreciate that they have an admirer in Lucy, these spicy kittens are less than friendly. Take a look!

@pearlsragdolls

The spicy kittens aren't too sure of Lucy but their mama Josie still loves her

"The spicy kittens aren't too sure of Lucy, but their mama Josie still loves her," the caption states.

Aw, we feel for Josie, who is clearly caught in the middle, wanting Lucy to feel included and her kittens to feel safe.

"It’s so funny when they’re small and spicy 😂," a viewer wrote.

For being so tiny, they've got big feelings, that's for sure. Luckily, no one takes a swipe at Lucy. Also, they can't really vocalize their displeasure, which is probably a good thing for Lucy, too!

"Lucy is like, 'It’s not my fault. Love me' 🥺," another viewer imagined the Golden thinking.

"Is Josie trying to fix Lucy’s scent by nuzzling and pushing herself against her?" someone else asked.

Aw, that would be so sweet. Maybe if her scent rubs off on Lucy, Josie's kittens will be more accepting of her. Too cute! Josie also rolls around with her kittens, perhaps sharing Lucy's scent as a way of saying, "Get used to her, kittens. Lucy isn't going anywhere!"

Related: Ragdoll Cat Standing Inside Dishwasher Is the Cutest Little Helper

Not all dogs would be as sweet and welcoming as Lucy is, so we think these Ragdoll kittens should be grateful for the extra attention!

Introducing Cats and Dogs to Foster a Good Relationship

Letting pets sniff one another in a safe environment is a great first step when it comes to a new pet meet-and-greet. It seems like Josie knows that instinctively.

Also, you want to make sure your dog is feeling calm and not threatened in any way when introducing the kittens. It definitely seems like Lucy is very calm and ready to let the cat family make the first move. So precious.

We think once these kitties realize that Lucy is their pal (or perhaps an aunt/nanny?), they'll all get along beautifully!

Maine Coon Sitting in Patio Rafters Is So Lion-Like

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 9:00am

I'm so ready for winter to be over. I don't really like going outside when it's cold out, and as a result, it's been a while since I've seen all of my favorite neighborhood cats. There's something so special about a cat lying around when it's warm outside!

One Maine Coon is able to go outside even in these colder months, and he even has his own patio! Somehow, he's made his own special spot, and it legitimately makes him look like a little lion:

Oh, what I'd give to be Floki the Maine Coon right now. That looks so nice. The grass is so green! He doesn't care about that, though; he just wants to be up in the rafters, watching everything around him.

Floki has two sisters: a grey Tabby Maine Coon named Torvi and a white Maine Coon named Siggy. They're a beautiful bunch, but as the only boy, Floki has taken on most of the adventuring. His sisters much prefer to lie around closer to the ground!

Related: Maine Coon Kitten's 'Flame-Kissed Face' Is Melting Hearts

The patio is not technically a catio, but it's definitely used like one. The rafters are accessible, and that's Floki's favorite place; he likes to be able to see everything. Plus, when you're looking up at him, he looks even bigger than he already is. He's huge:

@bigdealsmeow

Yes he certainly does get whatever he wants!!🥰#catsoftiktok #catmom #cat #mainecoon #iattract

♬ I don't chase, I attract - Affirmation Club

He's so handsome that even his mom can't deny that he gets whatever he wants, whenever he wants it. When he's not up in the rafters, he likes to beg for treats, make biscuits with his huge paws, and make messes he has no intention of cleaning up!

Why Do Cats Like to be Up High?

If a cat can make their way to a high vantage point, they're likely going to. If given the choice between the floor and nearly touching the ceiling, they'll choose the ceiling every time! There are a few reasons for that:

  • It's a survival instinct; higher ground makes them less vulnerable.
  • Heat rises, so those higher spots are typically warmer.
  • Better light; cats love the sunlight!

Ideally, you should try to provide them with a safe, high spot to hang out in. If you don't, they're going to find one, and that could be bad! Luckily for Floki, though, the rafters are a safe and awesome place to hang out!

Precious Parrot Using His 'Inside Voice' Will Have You Instantly Charmed

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 8:55am

Pets are capable of more things than we realize, which is exactly why some vocal bird species are so fascinating. They are like little feathered humans with cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills that are only outmatched by their large vocabularies. I'm convinced these smart birds know all the world's secrets—but they won't tell!

Harley is one of these mega-intelligent Parrots who not only understands what his words mean, but he even gets what Mom means by "using your inside voice." Take a look at this incredible boy!

Replying to @🐉 Harley says Hi 👋 in his inside voice! #macaw #parrot #birdsoftiktok

Between the sploot to hold his balance, the adorable whisper "hi," and the general sweetness he gives off, I don't know if there's anyone cuter! He's clearly a very loved bird with a home that allows him to let his true personality shine. Macaws are one of the smartest bird species in the world, and this feathered friend shows us all why.

Harley's list of talents seems endless, whether he's whispering a warm greeting, having a conversation, or figuring out a fun puzzle. Every new post gives his fans another glimpse into a-day-in-the-life, and he's living his best. For a curious, inquisitive, and analytical thinker, you can bet this cutie-pie spends his days investigating and making everyone smile.

He's also one to never turn down a bangin' tune to groove to, and he's got the moves!

In the world of genius birds, there are many you might not even think of. Ravens, Magpies, and Jays are incredibly intelligent birds in their own right, but the Parrot subspecies rule the so-called roost as well-rounded smarties (which is exactly why I have so many favorites!)—especially Macaws.

World-renowned for their capacity for learning, birds like Harley are fully capable of figuring out complex tasks as well as mimicking human speech and sounds. It goes far beyond being a copycat, as a Macaw's auditory learning and vocal imitation is above and beyond other chatty birds.

The caveat is that these birds are social and rely on their flocks to form bonds, which means pet parents should devote a solid amount of time socializing with them and keeping their little brains engaged. Harley is living proof that devoted time together leads to the most polite little gentleman around!

Chihuahua Dressed in JFK Jr.-Inspired Outfit Is Everything

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 8:20am

In case you may have noticed, there has been a lot of attention lately on John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

The couple tragically died in a plane crash almost 30 years ago, but their love story has now been memorialized in the new Ryan Murphy series, Love Story, on FX.

The show, which is a fictionalized retelling of how the legendarily beautiful couple met and America's fascination with them, has introduced the story to a whole new generation, continuing the enduring intrigue around them.

Social media is loaded with videos and photos of people trying to see all the places they loved in New York City, and of course, trying to emulate their style.

This group includes dogs, as we see in this fun video from the account @arturosalmaci featuring an adorable Chihuahua dressed as JFK Jr.

In the video, we see the little yellow Chihuahua wearing a blazer and a backward baseball hat, just like JFK Jr. used to do.

Love Story also shows JFK Jr. (played by newcomer actor Paul Anthony Kelly) riding on his bike all around New York City, which the very athletic magazine editor was known to do.

And yes, the dog even had a tiny little bike next to him to make it even more real.

This was something the real JFK Jr., who was a dog lover, often did, usually while wearing a blazer and a backward cap.

Why Are We So Obsessed With JFK Jr. and Carolyn?

It seems that even before this show, everyone was obsessed with this couple; this has just shed a new light on it.

America has always been enamored with the Kennedys, who are the equivalent of royalty in this country.

And with this couple in particular, and the immense media coverage they received, they have remained a fixture for decades. Now with this show, that interest is even more tangible.

Even Chihuahuas care about JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy!

Amazon’s Whimsical $9 Fish Tank Decorations Look Like a Movie Scene

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 8:16am

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

It’s funny the things that stick with you; I still remember my childhood goldfish was named Cookie. I don’t remember having Cookie for super long, but I know Cookie was around when I was probably 4 or 5 years old.

I also remember that Cookie had a fish bowl. Boring, right? In hindsight, Cookie should have had something like this popular 9-piece broken barrel decoration set for fish tanks, which is currently on sale for $9 on Amazon.

For $1 more, you can also choose the 12-piece set, which features a few more colorful plants for your enjoyment.

Make Your Fish Tank Stand Out

If you’re old enough to have grown up with “SpongeBob” or “The Little Mermaid,” or if you’re now around children who are watching those classics, then you know how vibrant some of the designs were.

That’s exactly what makes these decorations stand out to me. It’s not a bad thing that the design looks like something out of an animated feature, not when the sea-related cartoons in question were so memorable and whimsical. In fact, the barrel’s exterior was handcrafted!

Reviews: What Buyers Are Saying

Amazon has sold over 1,000 of these fish broken barrel decorations in the last month alone, and it remains immensely popular. As of March 2026, the fish barrel decorations have a near-perfect 4.8-star rating on over 420 reviews, with 87% of customers leaving a perfect score.

Here’s what some past shoppers have to say:

  • “It looks beautiful in my aquarium, and my tiny queens really love it. The plants give them great hiding spots and make the tank look lively.”
  • “Outstanding product!! My fish and snails love this item. They constantly house themselves inside!”

Courtesy of Amazon

Know Before You Buy
  • Amazon says these decorations don’t need lighting or trimming, and they work in fresh or saltwater.
  • The broken barrel measures 2.8 inches long, 2.8 inches wide, and 4 inches high, and the set includes eight aquarium plants ranging from 2.4 to 6.5 inches tall.
  • Amazon offers free shipping to Prime customers, as well as a free 30-day refund/replacement window.

The Bottom Line: Cookie would be thrilled with this broken barrel decoration set, and I'd bet your fish will feel the same way. Whenever a piece of decor brings this much personality to a space, and for under $10, it’s a catch worth keeping.

Soggy Pomeranian Taking a Bath Is Giving Total 'Groot' Vibes

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 8:10am

Fluffy dog breeds like the Newfoundland, Pekingese, Shih-Tzu, and Bernese Mountain Dog take on a completely different appearance when soaking in the tub. Pre-bath, the pup is a floofy, cloud-like-coated pooch that looks more like a cotton ball than a canine. Post-bath, the fur sticks to their body and their frame shrinks, and suddenly they're a skinny little noodle with legs.

Bailey the Pomeranian had a quite different look when her pillowy fur got submerged in the tub, taking on the appearance of an unlikely superhero.

Pomeranians are known for their lion-like fur and puffball shape. That lush, voluminous coat is their trademark. Yet once a Pom takes a dip in the tub, a different dog emerges.

The TikTok from @bailey_thepompom featured the fur baby after she had her initial soak. That pillowy and plush coat morphed into a shape mirroring a fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy character.

"I am Groot," the caption read.

Groot captured the hearts of millions when he made his screen debut in the 2014 blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. Classified as a Flora colossus from Planet X, the tree-like hero is known for his catchphrase, "I am Groot."

Bailey Liked Her 'Groot' Look

Bailey apparently adopted that trademark look during her bath. Her front paws rested on the side of the tub as she modeled her Groot persona. Bailey's hair stuck straight up into a point in the middle of her head. Her ears darted out to the sides, making her whole head look like an array of branches.

Tufts of hair poked out in various areas, adding to the Groot vibes. Damp, spiky wisps jutted out like twigs, giving Bailey's fur that tree-like 'do.

The Pomeranian held a wide-eyed expression and strong stance, like she took pride in her resemblance to the famed Marvel character.

Even though Pomeranians are known for their voluminous coats, they are prone to dry skin. Bathing them too frequently can exacerbate that issue, so most Poms can get by with a bath every 3 months as long as they aren't dirty. You can start bathing your Pom at 8 weeks old.

Bailey doesn't seem to mind bathing, especially since it makes her look like a superhero.

Ultra-Rare 'Nutella' Ragdoll Cat's Soft Fur Couldn't Be Cuter

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 8:00am

Nutella is one of my favorite snacks, and I don't want to hear a word about it. "It's just frosting," okay, cool, that's what I'm after. I would bathe in it if I could, but unfortunately, I am not willing to use my free will in that way.

Luckily, I don't have to: one Ragdoll cat looks like he took a bath in Nutella! He's fully brown, blue-eyed, and as handsome as a cat could possibly be. I'll take 14 of them right now, please:

Finn the Ragdoll Cat is what my dreams are made of. He's so little, too; he just went home in July of 2025, meaning he's about to celebrate his first birthday soon. He's been really loving his home, mostly because he's treated like absolute royalty.

In this video, he's lying around in the sunshine, but that's perfect. It really shows off his:

  • Chocolatey fur.
  • Softness.
  • Beautiful eyes.

He's the kind of cat everyone wants to be! Brown cats are really rare, so his mom got so lucky.

Finn is being very chill in that video, but don't let it fool you. He's just as crazy as any other kitten in the world. When he's not relaxing, he loves to jump around and get in his mom's way:

Staring at her is his favorite thing to do. He probably thinks she's beautiful, just like she thinks he is!

Can Ragdoll Cats Be Brown?

Brown cats in general are rare, but brown Ragdoll cats in particular are very uncommon. According to TICA breed standards, a Ragdoll cat can definitely have some brown on their body, though it typically only appears at the "points" (snout, ears, feet, tail). All-over brown like this means something different.

If you see a brown Ragdoll, they're technically classified as Mink or Sepia Ragdoll cats. You can typically tell beyond their fur, because they may also be:

  • Solid-colored (as opposed to pointed, bicolor, or mitted).
  • Green, blue, gold, or amber-eyed.
  • Slightly less fluffy.

There's nothing wrong with them, but if you're on the hunt for one, make sure the breeder you're choosing is not misleading you. Extensive research is always advised when purchasing a pet from a breeder!

Mini Plush Lop Bunnies Look Like Everything Bagel Babies

Mon, 03/09/2026 - 7:55am

Mini Plush Lop Rabbits already look like living stuffed animals, but these little babies? They genuinely look like someone sprinkled sesame seeds on soft dinner rolls and called it a day. Their speckled markings have people calling them “everything bagel babies,” and honestly, I have never heard a more accurate description of a tiny creature.

I have never wanted a bunny in my life. Ever. And then I saw these freckled little loaves, and suddenly, I was pricing out hay like I had lost my mind. One commenter summed it up perfectly: “Um, excuse me… but that’s making me want rabbits, and my husband has already said no. So now I’m in a predicament.” Same. Deeply same.

@blewettbuns

Some baby bunny spam… these little ones are just too cute! #miniplushlop #blewettbuns #babybunnys #bunnyoftiktok

♬ Happy Finds a Way - K.I.S.S. Entertainment

The darling caption on the video shared by @blewettbuns reads, "Some baby bunny spam… these little ones are just too cute!"

People in the comments were completely smitten. “Oh my, I love their freckles!” one person wrote. Another added, “So cute and the markings are beautiful,” while multiple viewers officially adopted the term “everything bagel babies.” It fits. The speckles, the softness, the tiny folded ears—they look like they should come with cream cheese.

But here’s the part nobody talks about when they’re staring at floofy, freckled fluff.

Why Bunnies Don't Belong in Easter Baskets Easter bunny in a garden.

Image via Shutterstock/UNIKYLUCKK

Unless you have spent significant time researching and thoughtfully preparing to welcome a rabbit into your home, a bunny should never be given as an Easter gift. Bringing a rabbit into your family is a serious, long-term commitment. Domestic rabbits can live 8 to 12 years with proper indoor housing, a balanced diet, and regular veterinary care, and they deserve families who are ready for that responsibility. Rabbits are delicate animals with super-fragile spines and strong back legs that can injure them if they’re handled improperly. They require calm, patient interactions and don't typically enjoy being carried around or squeezed.

Because of this, rabbits are generally not recommended as pets for young children. They belong in quiet homes with gentle, supervised handling and adults who understand their body language.

They may look like plush toys. They are not plush toys.

What You Need To Care for a Rabbit Three white-and-black spotted rabbits.

Image via Adobe Stock/Olha Tsiplyar

Rabbits require significantly more than a cage and a carrot. Proper care includes a large exercise pen or free-roam space, unlimited hay, fresh leafy greens, high-quality pellets, and constant access to clean water.

They also need enrichment, such as chew toys, tunnels, and safe flooring to protect their feet. Regular veterinary care, ideally an experienced exotic animal vet or a vet who is used to caring for rabbits, is super important because rabbits can live 8 to 12 years with proper indoor care.

So yes, these “everything bagel babies” are dangerously cute. But adopting a rabbit should always be a thoughtful, long-term decision, not an impulse based on freckles or what looks cute in Easter morning photos.

Even if those freckles are extremely persuasive.

Chocolate Labrador Making Snow Angels Is the Cutest 'Land Seal'

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 9:20pm

I always get a kick out of pets who have clear opinions about things like the weather. For example, my senior Staffy loathes the cold and will quickly abandon falling flakes, while my middle-aged Corgi will plant herself in a snow pile for hours to guard her kingdom.

For Chocolate Lab, Truck, there's nothing better than rolling around in the snow and making angels. He could do it all day! I have a feeling he and my Corgi would be besties, though good luck to anyone trying to herd them back inside.

View this post on Instagram

I don't know how an actual earth angel can make snow angels, but here we are. Truck, who may be a land seal, couldn't be happier doing anything outdoors—even in the coldest temps—and he'll make the best of it each and every time.

The rolling around part is exactly what my pup does with no care in the world about how filthy the melting, muddy ground is, and Chocolate Labs can take it a step further. Oh, to be a carefree pooch who's just happy to be alive, no matter the weather.

Related: Chocolate Labrador Claims Human Infant as 'Her Baby' After Falling Head Over Heels in Love

In case you didn't get the reference, sweet Truck (built like a truck) is a stumpy, petite king. A "thiccc boi" with extra chunky leg rolls for days. He's everything a Lab should be and more, and I'd give my last dollar to hug him.

His family agrees that he's the star of the universe. Rightfully so. He's happy, loved, and the perfect specimen of why we don't deserve dogs.

View this post on Instagram Labrador Retrievers Were Born for Snow

Considering Labrador Retrievers were bred as natural athletes who love being outside, will use all their excess energy for hours, and excel in agility, swimming, and anything that keeps them active, Truck is just doing his part. The seasons change, but a Lab's love of being in the fresh air doesn't!

Luckily, they come equipped with thick, water-resistant double coats to protect them from brutal temps, but even if they didn't, they'd find a way to roll in snow, dive into a pond, or get good and muddy!

These famously friendly, social, and outgoing pups may need lots of time under the sun (or clouds), but as you can see with Truck, it's a small price to pay if it makes them that happy.
