Parrot Spills Everyone's Secrets During Pretend Phone Call

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 9:20am

If ever there were a certified yapper award in the wide world of pets, I know who'd make the list: Parrots Parrots Parrots! As much as I'd love to give first place to one of my personal favorites, Cockatoos, they'd have to take a backseat to this one (and don't get me started on Macaws, who deserve a category of their own).

First place would for sure go to Brody, a charismatic Parrot with an impressive array of talents. Unfortunately for his family, one thing he's really good at is telling the world whatever he's picked up in conversation, and this time, he's even spilling it on a fake phone call!

@brody.and.the.flo

Who is he talking to or what is he talking about? My is trying so hard to figure out 🤣 #parrot #funnyparrot #talkingparrot #funnyanimals #amazonparrot

♬ original sound - Brody and the flock

This self-proclaimed bad boy has never been subtle with his ability to mimic just about anything, including everyone's secrets, private conversations, phrases he overheard, and whatever comes into his cute little head!

Even for Yellow-Naped Parrots, Brody is one you won't soon forget. His everyday comedy routines are instant mood boosters, and he'll have you rolling with laughter one minute and trying to figure out how he's so smart the next.

Related: African Grey Parrot Performs List of Talents Like He's Auditioning for Broadway

As the world's greatest "certified yapper," Brody never fails to bring his A game. Whenever I'm in the mood for the perfect song, it's this funny bird primed and ready to go in the most over-the-top way possible!

@brody.and.the.flo

By the way, did he take us through the town? Lol 😂 not sure where the bus is though lol #talkingparrot #singingparrot #funnyparrot #funnyanimals #parrot

♬ original sound - Brody and the flock Parrots Can, and Will, Spill the Tea

Thanks to a Parrot's ability to learn, retain, and mimic a lot of words, phrases, and even private conversations (or something they overheard that you wouldn't want repeated!), you can count on them announcing it at the most inconvenient time possible! Even if they don't know what they're saying isn't for public consumption, they can comprehend context if it gets them attention—they're that smart!

As social flock birds in the wild, communication is key, so having pretend conversations, spilling secrets, or making up songs about them is part of what it's like to have an entertaining bird like Brody, our number one certified yapper recipient! It's a good thing he's cute because you really don't know what he'll say next!

Dachshund Is Such a Good Digger, He’s Basically a Master Gardener

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 8:55am

Some dogs go outside, sniff around, and call it a day. Others treat the ground like it’s hiding secrets they personally need to uncover, and they are not leaving until the investigation is complete.

That’s exactly the energy Dilly is bringing to this situation, and honestly, it’s impressive.

@dillyanddaisy

big digs and soil sniffs 🐾 #dachshund #digging #cutedogs #wirehaireddachshund #fyypp

♬ original sound - Dilly & Daisy

TikTok user @dillyanddaisy shared the clip with the caption, “Discover the charming world of a Wirehaired Dachshund as [he] indulges in natural instincts with big digs and soil sniffs,” and that’s exactly what you get. A very focused, very determined little Dachshund fully committing to the art of digging.

This isn’t casual. This is a full-body experience. Nose down, paws working, ears flopping, Dilly is locked in like he’s on a mission that only he understands.

Related: Dachshund With a Cleft Palate Has the Sweetest Little Snoot

The commenters immediately picked up on the intensity. “Not sure what’s being achieved here, but we’re obsessed,” one person wrote, which feels like the correct takeaway.

“Scratch and sniff, but make it feisty,” might be the most accurate description of all, while this: “I see NO dirt moving, but great effort,” adds a layer of honesty that’s hard to ignore. It’s not about results. It’s about passion.

“The ears propel the dirt away, technique 10/10,” is giving him a lot of credit, and honestly, he deserves it. The form alone is worth recognition.

“This is a whole body and soul activity,” really captures what’s happening here. This is not a hobby. This is a calling.

And then, of course, “Better stop him before he digs straight through to the earth’s core,” which… at this rate, I wouldn’t rule it out.

“Dilly is straight up dallying,” might be the simplest explanation of all. No notes.

Why Dogs Love Digging in the Dirt @thedogcaptains

How Digging Makes Your Dog Happy #dogtraining #dogs#dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - The Dog Captain

Dogs have a natural instinct to dig, and for breeds like Dachshunds, it’s especially strong.

Originally bred to hunt small animals underground, Dachshunds are wired to follow scents and investigate anything that might be hiding beneath the surface. Digging is part curiosity, part instinct, and part pure enjoyment.

It can also be a way for dogs to burn off energy, explore their environment, or even create a cool spot to lie down in warm weather.

A dog’s sense of smell is so powerful that the ground can hold layers of scents we can’t detect, which makes digging feel like uncovering a whole hidden world.

So while it might look chaotic or unnecessary, for Dilly, this is exactly what he was built to do. And clearly, he is taking that responsibility very seriously.

Australian Shepherd Shot by Delivery Driver: What Happened Next Shocked Everyone

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 8:20am

Well, you do not get to write one like this every day.

At first, it sounds like one of those stories that is heading somewhere awful. The video caption says, “#Livonia #dog shot by delivery driver found alive weeks later,” which is already enough to make anyone stop scrolling. A dog shot. Missing. Then, somehow, against all reasonable odds, alive.

That dog is Daisy, an Australian Shepherd from Livonia, Michigan.

And yes, what happened next really did shock everyone.

@fox2detroitwjbk

Livonia dog shot by delivery driver found alive weeks later dogtok fyp michigan

♬ original sound - FOX 2 Detroit - FOX 2 Detroit

According to local reporting, Daisy disappeared after a delivery driver said he was scared and shot her during a delivery. The family searched for days, and Daisy remained missing long enough that people were bracing for the worst. Then came the twist nobody was ready for: Daisy was found alive, close to where she had gone missing, and reportedly in far better condition than anyone expected. FOX 2 Detroit reported that drones, thermal imaging, community sightings, and professional trappers all played a role in finding her.

That alone would be enough to make this story unforgettable.

But the details make it even wilder.

View this post on Instagram

WWJ reported that Daisy’s pet parent said the bullet grazed the top of her head, and after she recovered, a vet found the bullet had ricocheted off her skull. Read that again. Off her skull. Which is why one commenter saying, “Daisy is from the planet Krypton,” honestly does not even feel dramatic. It feels medically adjacent.

And then there is the reunion piece, which is what takes this from shocking to emotional. Commenters were all over the story with questions, relief, and disbelief, but one said it best: “The best news!! So glad she is okay and reunited with her family! 🥹💛” That really is the feeling here. Because whatever people think about the circumstances, the ending everyone wanted was simple: Daisy alive, home, and OK.

The internet also had a lot to say about the delivery driver being armed, which is understandable, but the story itself is already doing enough without anyone adding extra drama to it. The facts are strange enough on their own. A family dog was shot, vanished, survived outdoors, and was then found alive after a community search effort. That is not just a news story. That is a full miracle with fur.

View this post on Instagram Lost Dogs Are Sometimes Found Because People Stay Organized

Daisy’s story is a good reminder that when a pup goes missing, especially after a frightening incident, it helps to search smart, not just hard. Missing Animal Response recommends keeping sightings organized, using search teams strategically, and being careful not to push a frightened dog farther away by flooding an area with random activity. Panic can make recovery harder.

Honestly, Daisy surviving all that and coming home is the kind of plot twist that makes Lassie look at the script and say, OK, now you’re doing too much.

Orange Cat Slowly Falling for Rescue German Shepherd Is a Love Story for the Ages

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 7:10am

It can take a little time for our pets to warm up to a new family member. Our senior Dachshund definitely kept her distance from our Pug mix when we first brought him home. She wasn't thrilled about having a baby brother without first being consulted and played it very cool for a while, even though he stuck to her like glue. Soon though, his charms won her over and now they're BFFs.

Scully the orange cat may have had the same hesitation when his mom introduced Jareau, a rescue German Shepherd, as his new big sister. Gradually, Scully had a change of heart and couldn't help bonding with his fur baby sister.

@jareauthegsd

my heart!!! they are truly partners in crime, always up to something! #germanshepherd #rescuedog #catsoftiktok #dogtok #dogmom

♬ Everywhere, Everything - Noah Kahan

The TikTok from @jareauthegsk opened with Scully walking across the kitchen counter, staring at Jareau as she chilled on the couch. The two made eye contact but didn't go any further.

"Watch my cat slowly fall in love with our rescue dog," the onscreen text shared.

Clips of the pretty kitty and sweet canine getting closer documented a growing bond. Soon, they were on the sofa together with Jareau affectionately nuzzling and kissing Scully's ear. Even though the cat immediately got up and left the couch following the cuddle, it was a step forward for their relationship.

Jareau and Scully Became Besties

Trust began to build between the two, where Scully even got cozy on her back and bared her belly to her big sis. More couch time together showed the two fur babies starting to play together and huddling in another room, forming sort of a partnership. The video concluded with Jareau and Scully snuggling together.

"My heart! They are truly partners in crime, always up to something!" the caption revealed.

Followers fell in love with the precious pair and their newfound friendship.

"Slowly but surely they became best friends!" someone raved.

"STOP! This is the sweetest thing I’ve seen," one gushed.

"Dogs and cats making friends always melts my heart," a follower remarked.

"I just slowly fell in love with them both," another posted.

These two just needed to get to know each other a bit before becoming BFFs. Now they have an unbreakable bond.

Cautious Vizsla Is 'So Stinking Cute' Going Down Stairs for the First Time

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 6:05am

Archer is a Vizsla puppy tackling stairs for the very first time. The adorable pup is taking social media by storm after his humans captured his “stinking cute” first attempt at climbing down stairs.

In a sweet video shared to social media, the Vizsla approaches a small set of stairs with caution before finally deciding to tackle them. After sizing up the steps, Archer paws his way down, bounding forward with newfound confidence and enthusiasm.

Archer has gained a whole new group of fans delighted by the video. “So stinking cute,” gushed one. Another added, “Very handsome little hound.”

“You did it,” another fan commented.

“Archer, great job 👏 sweet pup,” added one more.

Why Vizsla Puppies Can Be Cautious in New Situations @willowsworld0610

POV your pup is terrified of water 💙#vizsla #puppydog #dog #dogs #dogsvideo

♬ original sound - Willow

Archer’s cautious approach to his first trip down the stairs is a good example of this breed’s sensitive nature. Vizslas can be cautious, timid, and shy in new situations and around strangers, despite their affectionate and high-energy personality. They are also known for being sensitive and can be prone to anxiety or fearfulness.

Many dog breeds, including Vizslas, are nervous by nature and are most calm when in the presence of their humans. This breed is often called a “velcro dog” because they like to be close to mom and dad.

For puppies like Archer, every experience is new, which can often send them into an anxiety tailspin. Anxiety in dogs can actually serve as a survival instinct intended to keep them out of harm’s way. Archer is able to overcome his nervousness and descend the stairs for the very first time, amazingly caught on video.

Archer’s hesitation as he descends the stairs for the first time reflects a common experience in puppies, who often become cautious in unfamiliar situations due to a lack of experience. Despite his initial wariness, Archer pushes through and takes on the stairs with the confidence of a much bigger dog.

Way to go, Archer.

Stunning Dachshund Who Looks Like an Ewok Completely Lights up During Ear Scratches

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 8:55pm

All dogs are cute, but we can't deny that some pups look like they've stepped straight out of a movie set. These dogs have a little something that stands out, or they happen to be doppelgängers of famous characters we already know. And when that happens, it's hard not to notice.

In this video, we meet a cute Dachshund who doesn't look like the typical wiener dog you'd picture in your mind. Instead, he looks like he has come from the Star Wars universe as one of the cute but underestimated Ewoks. He also happens to be incredibly dapper, stunning, and in love with ear scratches. Take a look!

@stanthehotdawg

♬ nhạc nền - Shin Music - Shin Music

TikTok user @stanthehotdawg shared a video of Stan, a Wirehaired Dachshund, patiently waiting for his mama to give him ear scratches. He's keeping an eye on her every move between pets. Then his whole face turns into blissful happiness when he's getting his mama's hand to scratch the perfect spot on his ears before lifting his chin to ask for a little there, too.

He's so charming, and his eyes have that old-soul vibe to them where you can see what he's thinking, and it's so precious. It also helps that he looks like a literal Ewok, those fuzzy bear-like aliens from the movie. The fur around his nose and mouth is a much lighter color than the rest of him, so it looks like he's got a beard. And it's easy to see why so many people in the comments are showering him with affection.

One commenter wrote, "How do you not hug and hold him all day? He is so adorable!"

Another shared, "Is Stan always this calm? Does he ever get the zoomies or have a bit of a wild, crazy, quirky side to him?"

Someone else added, "Darling Stan, those eyes of yours speak volumes!"

Other comments included, "His face is adorable, he's got so much on his mind," "I swear he has a Schnauzer face, beard and eyes," "I swear that's an angel, not a dog," Oh, those eyes," and "Stan, you are a supreme stealer of hearts!! You've definitely stolen mine!"

Wirehaired Dachshunds Are Wiener Dogs With Differently Textured Fur

If you've never seen a Dachshund who looks like Stan, looking more like a Schnauzer in ways, or the fictional Ewok, they get their unique look from the texture of their coat.

According to Purina, the coat on these Dachshunds is "hard and wiry," which means they can form the perfect beard and mustache, like the one Stan is rocking. They also have that longer, wirier fur on their eyebrows, which definitely helps draw focus to their big, beautiful eyes.

The site explains that these pups can come in a variety of coat colors, like the typical Dachshund, and their personalities are similar—bold, courageous, lively, silly, and hard to affectionate.

The commenters on the video are so right—it would be impossible to say no to sweet Stan!

American Kennel Club Names the Smartest Dog Breed: 'An Overachiever'

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 8:43pm

When it comes to intelligent dogs, breeds like the Poodle, Golden Retriever, Doberman Pinscher, and the German Shepherd are all known for their smarts. Researchers show that most dogs have the same intelligence as a 2-year-old child, but some dog breeds outsmart their counterparts. The American Kennel Club recently released its findings on dog intelligence, with one breed outsmarting the rest.

The American Kennel Club names the Border Collie the most intelligent dog breed. Here’s why:

“Paws down, this quick-as-lightning herding breed easily outsmarts other breeds. Ask anyone who owns a Border Collie; they’ll tell you this highly energetic and athletic breed is an overachiever. At 30 to 55 pounds, this dog is a heavyweight employee who thrives on getting any job done.”

@movingwithmilo

Always playing🎾👁️ #movingwithmilo #dogfyp🐾 #bordercollielife #dogtoy #ballislife

♬ original sound - DL Lee

Originally bred along the border of Scotland and England, the Border Collie was developed for sheep herding, which requires sharp thinking, quick reactions, and intense focus.

The Border Collie earns its reputation as the most intelligent dog due to its ability to learn commands quickly and to independently problem-solve. Known for excelling in obedience competitions, agility courses, and advanced training tasks, the Border Collie can often learn new commands in just a few repetitions.

Related: Experts Name the No. 1 Companion Dog: A 'Highly Intuitive, Sensitive Breed'

What Makes the Border Collie So Intelligent @katya.shykind

See she’s got a job - I’m always around to herd 🤠🤷‍♀️😉 full time work #bordercollie #dogsoftiktok #puppylove #dogpark #funnydog

♬ Old Man - Neil Young

So what makes a Border Collie so smart? Bred to herd livestock, Border Collies can problem-solve without constant human direction and can assess situations and respond almost instantly.

Highly focused, the Border Collie has an exceptional ability to concentrate, often referred to as “the eye,” which helps this breed control livestock. This skill now translates into strong focus during training and play.

Not only do Border Collies learn commands quickly, they retain them long-term, making them one of the most easily trainable dog breeds. Unlike other dog breeds, Border Collies can figure things out on their own, a key indicator of advanced canine intelligence.

Border Collies make excellent additions to a family. This breed, however, does require a lot of exercise, as well as mental and physical stimulation. In the right environment, a Border Collie is a standout family dog for its energy, work ethic, and intelligence, making it one of the best companion dogs and certainly one of the smartest.

Labrador Brothers Think Tiny Chicks Are 'Their Babies' and Our Hearts Can't Take It

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 8:20pm

Some animal videos are cute.

Some are sweet.

And then there are the ones that hit you right in the center of your chest because the tenderness is just too much to process like a normal person.

This is one of those.

In the video, we see two Labrador brothers being unbelievably gentle with a group of tiny chicks, and the whole thing has the soft, emotional energy of a story you would not believe if you had not watched it yourself. They are careful. Curious. Protective. And somehow so full of love that it really does feel like, in their minds, these little chicks are absolutely their babies now.

@nobullfarm

Wilson's been feeling so lonely, my black lab * feels left out, and the rest of the eggs still haven't hatched... animal lovers, this one's for you... #animallovers #NobleFarmTales #farmlife #doglovers #wholesome

♬ original sound - NoBull ❌

The setup behind it makes the moment even more touching. Wilson, the Black Lab, has apparently been feeling lonely on the farm while the rest of the eggs still have not hatched, and that sadness seems to have found an outlet in the sweetest possible way. Instead of acting restless or frustrated, he pours all of that big Labrador heart into these tiny new lives. It is impossible not to melt watching him.

And he is not alone in it.

That's what makes this clip so special. It is not just one dog being gentle. It's two Labs showing the kind of patience and softness that makes animal people completely lose it. You can feel how careful they are being. There is no roughness, no chaos, just this incredible, instinctive tenderness that somehow makes the whole barnyard feel quieter and kinder for a minute.

One comment says, “We do not deserve them. Angels. Every single one of them.” And honestly, yes. That is exactly the feeling. Because what do you even do with this level of goodness? Two big dogs looking at tiny chicks with what appears to be genuine emotional responsibility is almost too much for the human nervous system to process.

What also works so well here is that the story taps into something a lot of people understand, even outside the animal world. Loneliness does not always look loud. Sometimes it looks like wanting to care for something. Wanting to belong. Wanting to feel included in the life happening around you. And in Wilson’s case, that seems to have turned into one of the sweetest little farm moments imaginable.

This is the kind of video that makes people stay on the page because it gives you more than one thing at once. It is adorable, yes. But it is also emotional, funny in a gentle way, and weirdly profound. Big dogs. Tiny chicks. Huge feelings. That is a winning formula every time.

Gentle Introductions Matter More Than People Think

One reason this moment feels so special is that safe, calm introductions between animals can create truly beautiful bonds over time. Dogs and chicks should always be supervised closely, especially early on, but gentle exposure, calm praise, and short, positive interactions can help everyone stay comfortable and safe. The Humane World for Animals also recommends making sure animals have separate safe spaces and that interactions happen at a pace that doesn't overwhelm either side, which is a good rule anytime different species are learning each other.

Honestly, Wilson looked like he had gone from lonely farm boy to extremely emotional stepdad in under 10 minutes.

Little French Bulldog Asking for a Cheeto Deserves the Whole Bag

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 7:20pm

If you’ve ever opened a snack around your dog and immediately felt like you were being negotiated with, this is going to feel very familiar. Because sometimes it’s not just begging… it’s a full conversation.

And in Archie’s case, he has a lot to say.

@archie.thefrenchbulldog

Can someone tell my parents “people food” is a made up word? #frenchie #frenchbulldog #frenchiesoftiktok #frenchies #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - Archie The Frenchie

The hilariously cute clip was shared on the TikTok account @archie.thefrenchbulldog with the caption, "Can someone tell my parents 'people food' is a made-up word?"

This is basically a one-sided debate between a very determined French Bulldog and a bag of Cheetos sitting just out of reach. Archie is in the bedroom, locked onto the prize, barking, whining, and very clearly making his case.

Related: Tiny, Roly-Poly Bulldog Puppies Wrestling Each Other Is Peak Cuteness

At one point, it genuinely sounds like he’s saying, "But I want some," and honestly… I believe him.

The comments immediately turned into a translation exercise. “Yup, yup indeed, I heard him say, ‘I WANT ONE,’” one person wrote, which feels accurate. Another added, “Hello, I want, I want, I want it, I want it, I waaant iiitt,” which might actually be a direct quote.

“I love this guy. I would love to just spend a day with him to just chat it up,” someone said, and honestly, same. Archie seems like he has opinions.

Then there’s this: “He deserves the bag,” which is a bold stance but not entirely unreasonable given the effort being put in here. Also, "Feed the baby, you meanie," adds a little pressure, while “Archie clearly said I want some,” leaves very little room for interpretation.

“Give that baby potato one immediately,” might be the most urgent request of the bunch, and “I think Archie gave a pretty compelling argument there, just cave in already,” really sums it up. This was not casual begging. This was persuasion.

Also, I’m just saying, my dog Kingston would bark once and give up, but Archie? Archie is staying in the conversation until a snack is secured.

Are French Bulldogs Loud? @archie.thefrenchbulldog

How dare you give attention to any other dogs but us!!!🤪🙈 #dog #dogsoftiktok #dogtok #frenchbulldog #frenchie

♬ Drama effect Mach - Don Nahum

French Bulldogs aren’t typically considered excessive barkers, but they are definitely vocal in their own way.

Instead of constant barking, French Bulldogs tend to use a mix of sounds like grunts, whines, yips, and those very specific “talking” noises that feel suspiciously close to actual words. They’re expressive dogs and aren’t shy about letting you know what they want.

Because they’re so people-oriented, a lot of their vocalizing is directed at their humans. Whether it’s asking for attention, reacting to something exciting, or in Archie’s case, requesting snacks with extreme urgency, they use their voices to communicate clearly.

French Bulldogs are known for their unique vocal range thanks to their compact build and facial structure, which gives them that signature “chatty” sound.

So while they might not be loud in the traditional sense, they are absolutely capable of holding a full conversation… especially when snacks are involved.

Dapper Cat With 'Mustache’ Is Giving Major Distinguished Gentleman Vibes

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 3:55pm

If there were ever a cat born to wear a monocle and sip espresso at a sidewalk café, it’s Henry.

The black-and-white feline, recently shared in Reddit’s r/SupermodelCats, is turning heads for one very specific—and very distinguished—feature: a perfectly placed mustache marking.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

Meet Henry, the Mustachioed Cat

The neat little “stache” paired with his tuxedo coat gives him the unmistakable air of a well-dressed gentleman who definitely has strong opinions about wine.

The Internet Has Thoughts

Naturally, the internet had plenty to say in the comments section.

“This cat definitely has the thickest French accent you ever heard,” one commenter joked, perfectly capturing Henry’s effortlessly sophisticated vibe. You can almost picture him ordering something elaborate in flawless French.

Another user wrote, “That is the most Henry-looking Henry that’s ever Henryed,” which feels hard to argue with.

And then there’s the celebrity comparison. “First photo is pulling off a Tom Selleck,” someone pointed out—and once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Related: This Cat’s Dreamy Aqua-Teal Eyes Have Everyone Mesmerized

What Causes Unique Markings on Cats?

Eye-catching spots, stripes and even mustache-like markings all come down to a mix of genetics, pigment distribution and a bit of randomness. A cat’s coat is shaped by genes that control color (like black, orange or gray), pattern (such as tabby, solid or tuxedo) and where those colors appear on the body.

One key player is the “white spotting” gene, which determines where white fur shows up. Rather than adding color, this gene removes pigment in certain areas, turning them white. In doing so, it can leave behind small patches of darker fur in just the right places—sometimes creating markings that look like a mustache.

But while genetics provide the blueprint, the final result isn’t perfectly mapped out. As a kitten develops, pigment-producing cells spread across the skin, and slight variations in how those cells move and settle can lead to unique outcomes.

That’s why no two cats look exactly alike—and why some end up with perfectly placed, personality-packed markings like Henry’s.

A Face You Don’t Forget

What makes Henry especially captivating isn’t just the mustache itself, but how much personality it seems to give him. He looks like a character—the kind you’d expect to have a signature drink order and favorite armchair.

And somehow, with just a perfectly placed patch of fur, Henry manages to steal the spotlight without even trying.

'Kernel-Sized' Kitten Named Corn Who Gained Vacation Weight Looks Like Extra-Large Cob

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 3:55pm

It's always a fun surprise to see how much a kitten changes throughout their first year of life. Even the tiniest of kittens could transform into a gigantic feline who looks nothing like their former self—the possibilities are endless.

There's only one kitten whose glow-up is worthy of a standing ovation: Baby Corn. The once runt of the litter with a wobbly way about him is finally sizing up into a full-grown cob, and it's all thanks to a little R&R with Mom!

@whiskstowhiskers

We've all been eating so much on this trip. The wind could never push him down now. #babycorncat #cerebellarhypoplasia #wobblycat #dwarfcat #adventurecat

♬ original sound - Christina Ha

Many of Corn's fans compared him to a Renaissance painting, and now I can't unsee it. If the thick boy had an Elizabethan collar, it'd be *chef's kiss*. A few more pounds while relaxing and being the cutest, wobbliest kitty around sounds like a good trade-off to me!

To understand why Corn's vacation weight holds so much meaning, you must first know that mere months ago, he was smaller than a soda can. As such a petite prince, even the wind knocked him over! I'm all for this new, wide, rotund, perfectly poised Corn, because it means he's actually doing it—he's becoming everything we all knew he could be (and then some).

Related: Maine Coon Kitten's Chunky Highlights Are Sun-Kissed 'Purrfection'

The now 1-year-old's journey has been exciting to watch unfold. Corn has overcome SO much in his life already, so this vacation is the sweetest way to say "we're all proud of you, buddy!"

As the most loving and devoted foster dad to his kitty daughter and a shining example of what true resilience looks like, I'd say the former "Baby" Corn is doing a stellar job showing the world what he's capable of. His message of never giving up, always giving your all, and being grateful for each and every day shows.

Take a look back at where it all began, when we fell so hard for this precious Black Kitten.

@whiskstowhiskers

It's been exactly one year since I took in Baby Corn. Most of the kittens we take in are brought to the shelter without their mom so it never occurred to me that they had taken her in, too. A few months ago, when I reached out to ask if there was more information, they told me about Winter, how sick she was and how she was still nursing her kittens when she could barely move herself. She was suffering and they took her pain away and for that, I am grateful. I wanted to share Winter's story. Otherwise, her story disappears with her. She was sick, but she was an incredible mom. She made 2 healthy babies and one with tiny ears. Baby Corn may have been only 150 grams at 3 weeks old, but he was clean, his body was plump. He was cognitively delayed so she must have put extra effort into saving him, too, even if it cost her everything. Baby Corn was orphaned for less than an hour when @Animal Care Centers of NYC asked me if I could help. ♬ Soft violin and gentle piano music - Yusuke Shimizu How Much Should Adult Cats Weigh?

PetMD says the average healthy adult cat should weigh between 8 and 12 pounds, with the most ideal being around 10 pounds. Obviously, it all depends on the breed, gender, energy level, and age, because small breeds might only come in at 5 pounds or less, while Maine Coons can be 20 pounds or more.

That said, whatever Corn weighs or however big he gets, we love him all the same!

Adorable Security Dog Charms Sandra Bullock in the Sweetest Surprise Moment

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 2:48pm

On her way to a CinemaCon appearance, Sandra Bullock suddenly shifted her attention to a security dog named Hedge. She leaned in and locked onto him like nothing else around her mattered. She just had to stop and say hello to a dog she fell in love with instantly.

And what looked like a simple moment turned into something unexpectedly revealing, as Bullock paused, smiled and held back in a way most people don’t.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

The Moment Most People Misunderstand

In the video, the Hollywood star reached out to pet Hedge, a working Belgian Malinois, and was immediately stopped. The reason behind it is something most people misunderstand.

As the security guard told her, she couldn’t touch him.

Fans picked up on that, with one person commenting, “You can tell she is resisting the urge to get down and play with him.”

It feels surprising at first. The dog is calm, friendly and right there, but this is exactly the point. Security dogs are not just present. They are actively working.

Whether they are trained to detect explosives, track scents or monitor crowded environments, their attention has to stay locked in on their work—no matter who stops to play or pet them.

One quick pet, even with the best intention, can break their focus. For a detection dog, distraction is not harmless. It can mean missing something important.

What Makes Dogs Like Hedge So Good at Their Job

Hedge is a Belgian Malinois, a dog commonly used by police forces and the army. They are intelligent and can be trained to do almost anything.

Add in a sense of smell that can be up to 100,000 times stronger than ours, and these well-trained dogs can detect scents at incredibly low concentrations.

But scent alone is not enough.

The real skill is focus. These dogs are trained to stay engaged even when everything around them is designed to distract them. That is why even a quick interaction matters more than it seems.

A Quick Lesson for Pet Lovers

Bullock’s reaction felt familiar because it was real. No performance. No hesitation in how she connected with the dog.

And the pause that followed mattered just as much. She respected the boundary.

The next time you see a working dog in a vest, the most loving thing you can do is walk past and let them work (even if it's hard).

Sometimes loving a dog means not touching them and letting them do their job, no matter how cute they are.

Drumroll please...The French Bulldog is ranked the number one breed for busy people, according to Boulder Barks. So, why is this Bulldog perfect for people on the go and what makes this easygoing breed a great pet for people whose lives are in the fast lane? According to Boulder Barks, they are are considered low-maintenance dogs and therefore they don't require owners to have to put in a ton of extra time in order to keep them happy and healthy. "Low-maintenance dogs require less grooming, exercise and overall care, making them ideal companions for those with limited time," says the company, adding, "French Bulldogs are known for their easygoing nature. They have short coats that require minimal grooming and are generally healthy dogs. Frenchies are also relatively low-energy, needing only moderate exercise, which can be easily met with short daily walks."

All of these traits basically sum up what makes a French Bulldog so appealing to dog lovers who want a pet that fits effortlessly into their fast-paced lifestyle as their chill temperament, and relatively easy upkeep makes them a natural fit for people with little time to spare. Plus, they’re just as happy joining you for a quick outing as they are relaxing at home, which is why it makes perfect sense that this breed is an ideal companion for those constantly on the go.

It just shows that these small dogs are quickly becoming one of the most beloved breeds. Besides French Bulldog being ranked the number one breed for busy people, they also hold another title as well. In fact, the Frenchie made headlines when it overtook the long-reigning Labrador Retriever as the most popular dog breed in the United States in 2022 and they have remained in the top spot the last four years. Labrador Retrievers had held the number one position for more than 30 years previously, making the French Bulldog’s rise even more notable.

French Bulldog Breed Overview

If you're not familiar with French Bulldogs, you might have accidently mixed them up with another breed and pictured an English Bulldog or an American Bulldog, which are actually much bigger, muscular pups. Despite their similar name, Frenchies are much smaller, typically standing 11–13 inches tall, with their signature oversized, bat-like ears.

Originally bred in England and later refined in France, French Bulldogs have a history that traces back to working roles such as bull-baiting. However, today they’re best known as affectionate, easygoing companion dogs.

With their compact size, calm temperament, and low-maintenance needs, it’s easy to see why French Bulldogs are considered a top pet choice for busy animal lovers.

Scientists Find Rare Whale ‘Alphabet,’ and the Human Similarities Are Incredible

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 1:48pm

Out in the open ocean, long before we ever understood it, something has been happening in the dark.

Sperm whales have been talking to each other in patterns that look surprisingly familiar.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

A recent study published in the journal Proceedings B analyzed their vocalizations and found that these whales use structured sequences of clicks, often called codas, that follow rules.

Not random noise. Not simple signals. Patterns that start to resemble the building blocks of language.

Related: Baby Elephant Trapped in Well Gets the Sweetest Second Chance

What Scientists Are Actually Hearing

Researchers studying sperm whales have identified combinations of clicks that vary in rhythm, timing and structure.

These are not isolated sounds. They form sequences that change depending on context.

In human language, meaning often comes from the order of sounds. The same appears to be true here.

This study in particular suggests that whales may be combining smaller sound units into larger structures, a feature known as compositionality. This is one of the foundations of language.

There is still a gap. Scientists cannot yet translate these sequences into clear meanings, but the structure itself is hard to ignore.

And this is not the only study on sperm whales and their communication. Scientists have been trying for years to identify their vocalization, trying to find data that shows that these animals can talk just like humans do.

Two years ago, researchers at UC Berkeley used artificial intelligence to discover the sounds whales make. The video below is the product of that study.

They Are Not the Only Animals Pushing This Boundary

Sperm whales are not alone in showing advanced communication.

Dolphins, for example, use signature whistles that function almost like names. Each dolphin develops a unique call, and others use it to address them directly.

African gray parrots have shown the ability to understand words, colors, shapes and even basic concepts.

Dogs also fall into this category more than people expect. A well-known border collie named Chaser learned over 1,000 words and could retrieve specific objects by name. That level of vocabulary is comparable to a young child’s early language stage.

This Is Just the Beginning of the Story

There is still a lot scientists do not know. No one can yet “translate” whale communication into human language. The meaning behind specific sequences still remains unclear.

But the pattern is there, and once you notice it, it changes how you think about the animals around you.

The next time your dog responds to a word you thought was random, or reacts to a tone you barely noticed, remember this: communication in the animal world is not simple.

And now, in the deep ocean, something has been speaking in ways we are only starting to understand.

Say Goodbye to Nylon and Plastic Dog Bones With This Plant-Based Option

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 1:28pm

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

My dogs love chewing on toys made from plastic or nylon, but sometimes they'll go so crazy for them that their gums bleed. With bits of plastic falling off with each chew, I worried about what they were consuming. Between the injured gums and the thought of them swallowing plastic, I stopped buying them.

Now, I like to give my dogs more natural chews. Something that they can easily digest and that won't damage their teeth. Many animal-based chew options work as natural toothbrushes, so it's a win-win.

However, my crew of pups is made up of super chewers. They can finish a natural chew in record time. While it's better for them, it doesn't provide as much long-term entertainment as the nylon or plastic counterparts.

I've been on the hunt for something that meets in the middle. A toy that is made of healthy ingredients that we can trust, but that also keeps them occupied for hours. Something that enriches their minds and keeps them from chewing on the furniture. I was excited to find a new product that checked every box: the HonestChew Meaty.

HonestChew Meaty, $9.99-$19.99 at Woof Shop It!

Real bones can be messy and dangerous, while plastic ones may cause painful irritation to their gums. Woof's HonestChew Meaty prevents both issues in a single product. Powered by plants, you can trust the material your dogs are gnawing on. The chew is covered in a real beef coating, and underneath is Woof's HonestChew technology, which is a plant-based solution to harsh plastic chews.

These are superchewer-approved and come in two designs. One is a traditional antler chew, and the other is an infinity sign-shaped toy. They range in size for all types of dogs. The small size is for dogs 10-25 pounds, the medium is for pups 25-60 pounds, and the large is for dogs 60 pounds and above. The appropriate sizing ensures your dog will find their best fit.

With the Meaty, Woof created a safer alternative to plastic and animal-based bones for dogs. There are only four ingredients in each HonestChew: vegetable oil, cellulose, broth and antler powder. It's safer and less messy than other alternatives, and a unique way to entertain your dog with a plant-based toy you can feel good about giving them. Your pup (and your carpet) will thank you.

'Very Big and White' Golden Retriever Caught Red-Pawed With the Funniest Treat

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 12:51pm

Oh, Donny. He tried to get away with a tasty treat, but his body language and obedient nature gave him away.

In this hilarious Instagram video, Donny, a "very big and white" Golden Retriever, has absconded with an off-limits treat and knows it. He responds sheepishly and oh-so-guiltily when his human calls his name, slinking slowly around the corner toward her. He can't even make eye contact with his mom, but after she asks him several times to show her what's in his mouth, Donny reveals it to be a Kit Kat bar (thankfully) still in its wrapper.

Donny's mom responds with a simple "That's a 'no.'"

I can totally relate to Donny. I mean, who can blame him? Kit Kats are delicious, albeit dangerous for dogs like Donny.

View this post on Instagram

Viewers tend to agree with one confessing, "I can’t fault Donny. I’d do the same."

Others were convinced that Donny was a Newfoundland or Great Pyrenees because of his unusual size and coat, but no, he's a Golden through and through.

A few fans wondered if Donny was connected to a recent crime.

"There was a whole truck full of Kit Kats stolen in Europe a few weeks ago. Where was Donny then?" joked one person.

"It’s always the innocent-looking ones," chimed in another.

So, do dogs steal food just because it smells tasty? Not always, but yes. It can be that simple.

Up For Grabs

Dogs stealing food feels personal—but it’s really not. They’re not being sneaky or “bad,” they’re just doing exactly what dogs are wired to do: smell something delicious and go for it—no guilt, no moral debate—just instinct.

Instead of trying to out-discipline it, however, the smarter move is to manage the situation.

First, remove temptation whenever possible. If food is within reach, it’s fair game. Counters, coffee tables, cooling turkeys—if you don’t want it eaten, don’t leave it accessible. This alone solves a surprising amount of the problem.

Second, make sure your dog isn’t operating on an empty stomach. A well-fed dog is still interested in food (always), but a hungry dog is on a mission. Feeding them before parties or meals can take the edge off that urgency.

Training also helps—especially teaching a solid “leave it.” The goal isn’t punishment, it’s teaching self-control. When dogs learn that ignoring food actually earns them a reward, you start to shift the behavior in a way that sticks.

You can also limit access during high-risk moments. If you’re cooking, hosting, or have kids running around with snacks at dog-eye level, it’s completely fair to give your dog a separate setup. A crate, another room, or a safe space—with something like a stuffed Kong—keeps them occupied and out of trouble.

There are also deterrent tricks (like noise-based “gotcha” moments), but they tend to work only for certain dogs—and usually only a couple of times.

This isn’t about “fixing” a bad dog. It’s about setting them up to succeed in a world that constantly smells like... Kit Kats.

Why Circulating Water Encourages Pets to Drink More Often

Flowing water is likely more connected to your pet’s natural instincts than you might expect. It's far more appealing than still water, as in nature moving water is often perceived as fresher and safer, while stagnant water can signal bacteria buildup that pets instinctively learn to avoid. Because of this, many cats and dogs are naturally drawn to running water sources and tend to drink more when water is circulating rather than sitting still.

With that in mind, pet water fountains take advantage of these natural instincts by continuously moving and filtering the water. This helps keep it fresher and more enticing throughout the day, while steady circulation improves the taste and cleanliness as well. By encouraging more frequent drinking from a fresher source, your little ones benefit from better hydration and overall health, especially with pets that tend to underdrink from traditional bowls.

At $24, this smart water fountain is an easy purchase whether you are a first-time pet owner or an experienced pro. And judging by fan reviews, it might be the last one you need thanks to its convenient, easy-to-clean design. Snag one while they are still in stock and bring home a sleek, modern gadget that is BPA-free, Wi-Fi capable and built to last.

Boxer Dog's 'Rage Tappy Taps' at Grandpa in Her Spot Are Hilariously Dramatic

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 12:24pm

If you've ever wondered what happens when a dog discovers someone has the audacity to sit in their spot, Poppy the Boxer has the answer: absolute chaos. Some territorial disputes are settled quietly. Others involve progressively louder vocalizations, angry tap dancing, and what can only be described as theatrical fury.

Poppy the Boxer falls firmly into the second category in all the ways. Honestly? It's comedy gold.

There's a TikTok from @princess.poppyyy that captures the entire saga of Grandpa making what turns out to be a catastrophic furniture choice. The caption says "Grandpa never stood a chance 🤣💕" and the text overlay reads "POV: Your Dog runs the household."

Watching the video, both statements are completely accurate.

@princess.poppyyy

Grandpa never stood a chance 🤣💕 #doglover #boxerdog #souldog #dogmom #fyp

The video shows Poppy walking in to find Grandpa sitting on the couch—in her spot. Her human immediately tries to deflect control: "What's grandpa doing? He's not nice. That's not nice. Grandpa's watching Netflix. Don't be mad."

Too late. Poppy is already peeved. And she's about to get madder.

She starts making noises of frustration. Then, the angry sneezes start. The volume continuously cranks up. Her human warns Grandpa: "She wants you to move. She just hits things when she gets mad."

The frustration contnues to grow. Poppy literally can't even look at him. The rage tappy taps commence—that furious little tap dance dogs do when they're upset but haven't quite committed to full action.

Finally, Grandpa gives up and moves. Poppy claims her spot. Justice is served.

The comments were living for the drama.

"Poppy's like Sheldon Cooper: 'THAT'S MY SPOT' 😂," the perfect pop culture comparison.

"Grandma would never 😭," implying Grandma knows better.

"Her rage tappy taps ✨" giving that angry tap dance the recognition it deserves.

"The way she's so angry she can't even look at him I'm crying" peak dramatic energy.

Boxer Dogs Are Known for Their Expressive Personalities and Strong Bonds With Family

Here's what makes this so relatable: Poppy isn't being a brat. She's being a Boxer. The breed is known for being expressive, playful, and deeply bonded with their families. They have opinions. They communicate those opinions. And they absolutely have favorite spots that become sacred territory. Those favorite spots become non-negotiable territory.

The fact that Grandpa eventually got up and moved? Just confirms what the caption already told us—Poppy absolutely runs this household.

Giant Golden Retriever Takes Over the Pilates Studio With Hugs and It's Utter Delight

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 11:55am

Pilates is extremely hard, but many people argue it is the absolute best workout, makes you feel so good, and gets you into incredible shape.

But you know what would make it even better?

Having a big, fluffy Golden Retriever there to give you hugs while you do Pilates!

That is exactly what happens in this new video from the account @dukethatgolden featuring Duke, the Golden Retriever, accompanying his mom to her private Pilates workout at the Alo Gym.

Duke immediately decides he would like to be best friends with the teacher, jumps on the reformer machine, and starts giving her all the hugs (which she gladly embraces), all while his mom watches.

"He's obsessed! How did you get up there? She's trying to teach me, Duke! Let her teach me!" his mom says to him.

Not sure this is going to be the most productive Pilates class for Mom!

"His tail is wagging! Pilates time!" she says as Duke continues to hug her teacher.

Eventually, he gets down, but he is very interested in the reformer machine and how it moves back and forth.

Then we're guessing that Mom's friend or teacher takes over the camera, and Duke decides to hug his mom while she tries to do her Pilates workout on the reformer.

She wholly embraces his hugs, even though he is clearly disrupting her workout.

"I'm trying to get snatched!" she says as she hugs Duke, and he has a big smile on his face.

Her friend says, pretending to be Duke, "Mom, you're already snatched." Aww Duke! You do know best!

This fluffy, happy Golden could not be having a better time at the Alo Gym!

Cocker Spaniel's Sad Face Upon Realizing She's Sharing Room With New Baby Is Priceless

Thu, 04/16/2026 - 11:20am

There are a lot of dramatic faces in the animal kingdom.

But the face Alba makes when she realizes the room now comes with a newborn is truly elite.

In this video, the Cocker Spaniel is lying there looking absolutely wrecked by the news, and honestly, it is one of the funniest little expressions I have seen in a while. You do not need subtitles. You do not need context. You take one look at her face and immediately understand: This dog thought she knew what her life was, and now the plot has changed against her will.

@alba.thecocker

Those first nights with a newborn hit hard… and not just for the humans 😂 Alba’s face here says everything — that moment when reality kicks in and sleep is officially over. She really thought life was going to stay the same 😅 To be fair, she adapted fast. A few days later and she was sleeping through the chaos like a pro — crying baby? Doesn’t even flinch. Meanwhile, Mom is out here questioning everything 🫠 . . . . . #englishcockerspaniel #dogandbaby #newbornlife #tired #funnydogs

♬ original sound - ALBA

The post caption says it perfectly: “Those first nights with a newborn hit hard… and not just for the humans 😂 Alba’s face here says everything—that moment when reality kicks in, and sleep is officially over. She really thought life was going to stay the same 😅”

Exactly.

That is the whole joke.

Alba is not being loud about it. She is not throwing a fit. She is just lying there with the kind of tired, hollow-eyed disappointment usually seen in people who accidentally agree to an early airport ride. It is such a relatable expression that the whole thing becomes instantly shareable.

And then the caption gets even better, because it explains that she actually adapted fast. “A few days later, and she was sleeping through the chaos like a pro—crying baby? Doesn’t even flinch. Meanwhile, Mom is out here questioning everything 🫠”

Which somehow makes Alba even funnier.

Because she pulled herself together faster than the adults.

Of course, the dog took a few nights to process this new roommate situation, sighed deeply, and then moved on with her life while the humans kept unraveling. That feels exactly right.

One comment says, “Babies gotta move out, I’m afraid.”

And honestly, that is the exact energy of Alba’s face in the beginning.

Not cruel. Not aggressive. Just deeply inconvenienced.

That is what makes this clip work so well. It captures a very real household adjustment, but through the funniest possible lens. Anyone who has ever brought home a baby, a foster pet, a loud appliance, or honestly, anything that creates a big life change, can recognize that one family member who looks personally betrayed by the new arrangement.

Alba just happens to be wearing that feeling on her sweet little Cocker Spaniel face so clearly that the internet cannot look away.

And really, that is why people stay on videos like this. It is cute, yes. But it is also a tiny comedy about change, sleep deprivation, and the universal moment of realizing, oh no, this is the new normal.

Pets Usually Need an Adjustment Period, Too

Alba’s face is hilarious, but it is also a good reminder that pets often need time to adjust when a new baby changes the rhythm of the home. Keeping familiar routines, giving your dog some one-on-one attention, rewarding calm behavior around baby sounds, and creating quiet rest spaces can all help the transition go more smoothly. The ASPCA has helpful advice on preparing your pup for a new baby, and a lot of it comes down to helping dogs feel secure as everything else shifts around them.

Honestly, Alba looked like she had just found out her roommate cries, pays no rent, and cannot be reasoned with.
