Maltipoo Can't Stop Licking the TV, and the Reason Why Is 'Unreal'

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 4:06pm

Bless little Joey's heart. The sweet Maltipoo is the victim of a cruel scam involving fake steak, and I admit that I'm here for it.

In this very entertaining TikTok, Joey is doing his best to make an enormous image of a grilled steak on the TV come to life. The poor Maltipoo is licking the screen with everything he's got, hoping to get just a taste of the very realistic image. And while this trick is mean, it's also hilarious, and we just hope that Joey's humans gave him a piece of the real deal after all of his pain and suffering.

View this post on Instagram

I, for one, have been guilty of similar behavior while watching TV. I've yet to lick the screen, but I've fallen victim to many an appetizing food commercial and ordered delivery on the spot. Therefore, I can't blame this duped dog for taking matters into his own paws (or mouth). I wonder, though: do most dogs recognize the images they see on TV, or is Joey in the minority?

The Power of TV

Turns out, dogs aren’t just randomly staring at the TV—they can genuinely see and process what’s happening on screen in a way that’s pretty similar to us. They’re able to recognize animals (even ones they’ve never seen before) and respond to familiar sounds like barking as if it’s happening in real life. But food? Yes, that too.

A big part of the appeal is movement and sound. Dogs are especially tuned into motion, so anything running, jumping, or darting across the screen can grab their attention fast. Add in high-pitched or recognizable noises—like another dog barking—and you’ve got their full focus.

Modern TVs actually make a difference, too. Today’s high-definition TVs are much smoother, which makes the experience more engaging and realistic.

There’s also a sensory component. While dogs don’t see the full range of colors we do (they mostly see blues and yellows), certain programming—like shows designed specifically for dogs—leans into colors, movement, and pacing that hold their interest.

That said, not every dog is going to care. A lot of it comes down to personality and breed. Visual, high-energy dogs (think terriers or herding breeds) are more likely to get invested, while scent-driven dogs (like hounds) may be completely unimpressed.

TV appeals to dogs for the same basic reasons it appeals to us—movement, sound, and something interesting to focus on—just filtered through their own unique senses and instincts. Oh, and appetites.

Five Below’s $5 Find Makes It Easy to Keep Your Dog Hydrated On the Go

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 3:55pm

If you’ve ever been out on a walk or road trip with your dog and realized you forgot water, you know how quickly that can turn into a problem. Staying hydrated is just as important for dogs as it is for us, especially during warmer days or longer outings.

That’s why this $5 find from Five Below is such a smart grab.

Pet Travel Water Bottle, $5 at Five Below Pet Travel Water Bottle

Five Below

Five Below’s Pet Travel Water Bottle is designed to make giving your dog water on the go quick and hassle-free. The unit features a water bottle with a connected drinking bowl, so everything you need is in one compact design.

Instead of fumbling with separate bowls or trying to pour water into your hand (we’ve all been there), you can simply slide the button and let water flow into the attached basin for easy drinking.

The two pieces also come apart easily, making it simple to refill the water bottle whenever you need.

Related: Five Below's $5 Dog Poop Bags Smell Like a Favorite Childhood Candy

Perfect for Walks, Hikes and Road Trips

This is one of those items you don’t realize you need until you have it. Whether you’re heading out for a quick neighborhood walk, a longer hike or a road trip, having an easy way to offer water gives you peace of mind.

The bottle is lightweight and compact enough to toss into a bag or backpack. It also comes with a strap, making it easy to carry or loop around your wrist. These features make it easy to take with you, so you’re more likely to actually bring it along (and that’s half the battle).

Why Hydration Matters for Dogs

Dogs don’t sweat like humans do, so they rely on panting and hydration to regulate their body temperature. Without enough water, they can become dehydrated quickly, especially during exercise or in hot weather.

Signs of dehydration in dogs can include excessive panting, dry gums, lethargy and reduced energy levels. Having water readily available helps prevent these issues and keeps your dog comfortable during outings.

This travel water bottle is useful year-round, but it’s especially helpful during warmer months, when dogs can overheat more quickly and need more frequent water breaks.

A Small Upgrade That Makes a Big Difference

At just $5, this is one of those low-cost items that ends up being surprisingly useful. It simplifies something you already need to do—making sure your dog has access to water—and turns it into a quick, convenient task.

If you’re already heading to Five Below, it’s an easy add to your cart because when it comes to your dog’s comfort and well-being, being prepared goes a long way.

Home Inspector Calls Someone Mid-Inspection After Spotting ‘Intimidatingly Large’ Maine Coon

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 3:55pm

Home inspections are usually pretty straightforward. You walk through, check the basics, maybe make a few notes about the roof or the wiring, and ideally, nothing too unexpected happens.

But every once in a while, something completely derails the entire process. Not in a dramatic way. Just enough to make a grown adult stop what they’re doing, pick up their phone, and immediately tell someone else about it.

@rachbiscuit22

TikTok user @rachbiscuit22 shared the moment their home inspector encountered their Maine Coon, and things took a turn almost instantly.

While walking through the house, he pauses and then, instead of just… continuing his job like a normal person, he calls someone and starts describing what he’s seeing in real time: “I’m doing this inspection right now and there’s this cat here… and like, it’s a very large size cat. It’s an intimidatingly large size cat.”

Related: Orange Maine Coon Cat Gets Head Stuck in Box and It’s Pure Doofus Energy

At one point, he reassures the person on the other end, “No, I pet him and he was chill,” before trying to explain the vibe in a way that honestly deserves an award: “You know how you see a cat and they have a cute face? This cat is like… I might eat you later.”

That phrase alone has already entered my personal hall of fame.

The whole thing feels less like a home inspection and more like a live commentary on a cat he cannot emotionally process. And honestly, I get it. The first time someone sees a Maine Coon up close, there’s always a moment of… wait, is this still a cat?

A tree fell on my house last November and when the roof repair guy came out, he saw my Maine Coon, Meatball, and asked me twice what kind of dog he was. Twice. He simply could not accept that this was a cat existing in the world at that size.

People in the comments were losing it over the inspector’s reaction.

“Yes! I had an HVAC guy get back in his van, call me, and say there was a bobcat on the front porch. Sir, that’s Pretzel,” one person shared.

“I’m crying. WHO did he call to gossip about your cat?” another wrote.

“‘An intimidatingly large sized cat’ is the FUNNIEST phrase to say about the cat, inches away from the cat,” someone else added.

And honestly, the fact that he paused his inspection just to process this kitty out loud? Completely valid.

How Maine Coons Are the Original Gentle Giants @pearlsragdolls

Blossom and I got to meet Mainecoons for the first time in person. Thank you for letting us meet your fur babies @wisteria wildcats

♬ original sound - 🤍🥥S•phia🐚🍨

Maine Coons are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, often weighing between 10 and 25 pounds, with long bodies, massive tails, and that signature lion-like ruff around their necks.

Because of their size, people who aren’t familiar with the breed are often genuinely startled when they see one in person. It’s not just that they’re big, it’s that they move and carry themselves in a way that feels… substantial.

But despite their intimidating appearance, Maine Coons are known for being incredibly gentle, affectionate, and social. They’re often described as “dog-like” because they tend to follow their people around, enjoy interaction, and have a calm, easygoing temperament.

Which means the inspector wasn’t wrong to be slightly concerned, but also had absolutely nothing to worry about.

Unless, of course, the cat did decide to eat him later. Which, based on that face… OK, fair.

Tiny Sea Lion Pup Has Unexpected City Encounter in San Francisco

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 3:30pm

Of all the oceanside cities in the country, San Francisco’s waterfront is one of the few places where city life and wild marine life blur so much that sea lions sunbathing on the docks barely turn heads. Especially at the famed Pier 39, visitors can see these marvelous creatures barking and jostling for attention as they sprawl across floating platforms just steps from tourists and traffic.

So when a lone pup is found far from the water, even in a place like the streets of San Francisco, it immediately draws attention to the obviously out of place beach dweller. Such was the case on Thursday, April 16, when the Marine Mammal Center (TMMC) revealed that a sea lion pup, who they promptly named Irving, was found near 48th Avenue and Irving Street in the early hours of the morning.

Inside One Sea Lion Pup’s Late-Night Journey View this post on Instagram

“California sea lion pup Irving made a BIG splash this week after his rescue during the wee hours of the morning Thursday,” @themarinemammalcenter captioned the post. “Thanks to our trained responders and support from our friends @sfpdofficial@sfrecpark and @oavhavevet, Irving is now recovering at our Sausalito hospital."

Quickly becoming something of a “seal-ebrity” in the handful of hours between Irving’s discovery and the Marine Mammal Center’s post, it’s still not entirely clear how the pup made his way so far from his family. According to local news outlets, Irving was located around 1:30 a.m. when officers from the San Francisco Police Department and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department responded to the scene alongside trained staff from the Marine Mammal Center.

From there, Irving was gently corralled into a carrier crate provided by Ocean Avenue Veterinary and transported to a San Francisco Recreation and Park Department ranger station. The pup was then transferred to the Sausalito hospital by mid-morning on April 16 after hanging out with the ranger for a few hours.

Updates on Irving and Public Response

“As of now, it's unknown why Irving was away from their usual habitat,” a representative from the Marine Mammal Center said. “The pup will receive an admission exam from our veterinary experts this week to determine sex, evaluate their condition, identify any underlying ailments, and better assess long-term future outlook.”

While Irving is officially in safe hands, the center also shared an endearing photo of Irving sitting on the sidewalk beside the Irving Street sign and a brief explanation of how the events went down. They also included a helpful tip for city dwellers and visitors alike, advising that the public always keep a safe distance from marine mammals and to contact TMMC’s rescue hotline to report any animals in need.

“Positive vibes for its recovery,” one person responded to TMMC’s post.

“What an angel,” another added.

A local chimed in with excitement, writing, “We are so lucky to have the Marine Mammal Center so close to the city. Fast response, fast rescue! Thank you Marine Mammal Center for keeping us in the loop!”

The fact that this brave little pup made it so far inland is impressive on its own. And while they are thankfully in good hands, we can’t help but hope they can be reunited with their family soon. If you’ve ever lost a kid or family member in a big store or at a theme park, you know that moment of panic all too well. Here’s hoping Irving’s parents are holding up OK and get to see their pup again very soon.

Tortoise Is Obsessed With Orange Cats—His Reaction to This Rescue Kitten Says It All

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 2:55pm

Nelly, a Hermann’s tortoise who was rescued from a hoarding situation and later adopted into a loving home, is known for his incredibly social personality. He’s friendly, curious and drawn to other animals. But not all animals are created equal in Nelly's eyes—he has a serious soft spot for orange cats.

His human, Amy Husk, fosters kittens through a rescue called If Cats Ruled The World Feline Rescue, which means there’s a steady stream of cats coming through the house. While Nelly is generally uninterested in most of them, something shifts the moment an orange cat enters the picture.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

How It All Began

It started when Husk fostered and then adopted an adult orange rescue cat named Mac. Nelly was instantly enamored with him, following him around like a puppy and always wanting to be next to him

More recently, the rescue took in a pregnant cat from a hoarding situation who later gave birth to several kittens. Husk stepped up to foster and took in Bert, a tiny orange kitten. As soon as Nelly spotted Bert, as seen in the video below, he made a beeline for him, moving as fast as his little legs could carry him.

Bert is still a bit unsure of his shelled admirer. After all, he’s never met a tortoise before. Nelly, on the other hand, seemed completely convinced he had just met another orange bestie.

Related: Adorable Orange Cat’s Reaction to NASA Launch Has Everyone Watching Twice

A Pattern That’s Hard to Ignore

Husk has noticed a pattern: orange cats get Nelly’s full attention, while cats of other colors barely register. It’s become a running joke and a full-blown personality trait.

Interestingly, there may be a scientific explanation behind Nelly’s unusual preference. Tortoises are known to have strong color vision, and they can be especially drawn to bright hues like red, yellow and orange. It’s possible that Nelly simply perceives orange more vividly than other colors and finds it intriguing. Or maybe he just has excellent, slightly chaotic taste.

An Unlikely Friendship in the Making

Either way, the pairing of a slow-moving, love-struck tortoise and a slightly skeptical kitten is peak internet joy. In follow-up videos, it appears as if Bert is slowly starting to accept his shelled admirer. If Nelly’s track record is any indication, it’s only a matter of time before he wins him over.

Dog Left Behind in Empty House Quietly Chooses Her New Human

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 2:48pm

The house was supposed to be empty.

No one from the property side seemed to know she was there. The dog had been so quiet, so still in her hiding place, that realtors and landlords had come and gone without realizing the previous tenants had left a living animal behind.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

When the new occupant arrived, she was pressed into a corner: not growling, not running— just watching. Waiting to see what kind of person this was.

As the new owner of the house wrote in a Reddit post in r/rescuedogs, "When I first got here, she was alone and didn't trust anyone. Now she follows me everywhere and finally feels at home. I think we rescued each other."

That last line is the one worth sitting with.

Dogs Pick Their Person

We talk about adopting dogs as if the choice is entirely ours. The steps seem simple: we walk through a shelter, we pick the one who catches our eye and we bring them home.

However, behavioral research suggests the dynamic is far more mutual than that. Dogs form what ethologists call "selective attachment bonds," and they do it fast, based on a surprisingly specific set of criteria.

They're watching your body language. They're listening to your tone. They notice whether you move toward them confidently or nervously.

Related: Brave Dog Won’t Leave His Spot in a Quarry for a Reason You Don’t Expect

The Moment of Trust

You've probably seen this if you've ever lived with a rescue dog. There's a morning, sometimes weeks after they arrive, sometimes a matter of days, where you walk into the kitchen and they're just...there.

Not hovering anxiously. Not at a careful distance. Just there, in the same room, because being near you is now the default instead of something to be weighed.

That moment of "now she follows me everywhere" is what we call a secure base shift.

The dog has transferred their attachment anchor from whoever used to be their safe person onto you. It's one of the more profound things a dog can do because it requires them to let go of grief and try again.

It doesn't happen on a schedule. It happens when the dog decides you've earned it.

As one commenter said, “"She's always been at right house, just wrong people. Now life is on track." Another one added, "Karma found you to be her family."

She Was Always in the Right House

The previous people were a wrong fit. The empty rooms, the quiet, the waiting. None of it was her fault, and none of it defined her.

The dog who hid in a corner long enough to evaluate one more stranger and decided to follow her anyway knew something about hope that most of us have to work harder to hold onto.

She picked her. She was just wise enough to let her. The house is no longer empty, and the dog is no longer a secret.

Proud Parent Takes Dog Hiking, But Her Final Moment Steals Hearts

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 1:48pm

By the end of the trail, she wasn’t slowing down. She was still chasing sticks.

Somewhere between the first cautious steps and the final stretch home, a young dog quietly proved she was built for more than her owner expected in a heartwarming Reddit post in r/BackpackingDogs.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

What started as a “let’s see how she does” backpacking trip turned into something else entirely. Confidence. Trust. A dog discovering exactly who she is.

The sweet pup is just under two years old—still in that phase where you’re not quite sure how far is too far. Her parent admitted being nervous about overdoing it. Anyone who has taken a dog on their first long hike knows that feeling. You’re watching every step, every pause, every sign of fatigue.

Turns out, she didn’t need the extra worry.

When the Leash Finally Comes Off

At one point, her parent made a decision that always feels bigger than it should. In a safe stretch of wilderness, the leash came off.

That moment can make your chest tighten a bit. One commenter summed it up perfectly: “Taking them off leash for the first time in the wilderness can be a bit nerve racking.” Some dogs stick close. Others disappear the second they get the chance.

She didn’t go anywhere.

She stayed within five feet, checking in constantly, choosing her person over everything else around her. No commands. No corrections. Just quiet loyalty.

Trail Manners You Can't Teach Overnight

She wasn’t perfect, but to be honest, no dog is perfect. As her owner explained in the Reddit post, she pulled a little at first. But what stood out was how quickly she settled into the rhythm of the trail.

When hikers approached, she gave a single alert bark, then stopped. No chaos. No lunging. Just enough to say, “I see them,” and then back to calm.

That is the type of behavior that doesn’t just happen. You have to build it through small, consistent experiences where the dog learns what matters and what doesn’t.

While seeing a dog thrive off-leash is a joy, successful backpacking relies on strict trail etiquette. Always yield to hikers coming uphill, and remember that even the friendliest dog should be leashed the moment another person or animal appears on the horizon.

Not everyone on the trail is a dog person, and some hikers may have reactive dogs of their own. By keeping your dog under immediate control, you ensure that the wilderness remains a welcoming place for every species.

The Last Surprise

The last photo, taken back home, tells the whole story. She’s exhausted, finally still, but completely content. The kind of tired that only comes from doing something right.

If you’ve ever come back from a long walk or hike with your dog, you know that look. They curl up, sigh once and fall asleep like they’ve accomplished something.

Because they have. And maybe that’s the real shift in moments like this. You stop wondering if your dog can handle the world, and start realizing they’ve been ready all along.

Rescued Baby Cheetah’s Chirps Show Its Sweet Bond With Mom in Viral Video

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 12:47pm

A rescued baby Cheetah is chirping its way into the hearts of animal enthusiasts thanks to an emotional social media video depicting the deep bond between a Cheetah mom and her cub. In a viral video shared by the San Diego Zoo, a rescued baby Cheetah’s chirp is gaining attention online while highlighting the importance of the zoo’s conservation efforts to protect young wild cats like the one featured in the clip.

In the video shared by the San Diego Zoo on April 19, 2026, a mother Cheetah can be seen giving her baby a series of gentle, loving licks, a behavior mother Cheetahs use to clean their young and help stimulate bodily functions. The interaction reinforces the deep bond between mother and cub while also providing comfort and care.

@sandiegozoo

Purr-haps the cutest chirp you ever did hear ❤️ Cheetah moms like Kelechi are devoted to their cubs, grooming and protecting them during these critical early months. These little ones aren’t just adorable, they’re vital to the future of their species. With fewer than 7,000 cheetahs left in native habitats, every new cub helps to ensure cheetah populations continue to thrive.  These cats are behind the scenes at the Cheetah Conservation Center, but you might just catch a glimpse of them on an Ultimate Safari. 📸: Sara Conklin, Wildlife Care Supervisor #cheetah #cheetahcubs #sdzsafaripark

Why Baby Cheetahs Chirp @metrorichmondzoo

Unlike other big cats like lions and tigers, cheetahs cannot roar. Instead, they are one of the few cats that can purr continuously, both while inhaling and exhaling. #metrorichmondzoo #rva #cheetah #asmr #cuteanimals

The baby Cheetah responds to its mother’s affection with a soft chirp. While the sound may surprise some viewers, baby Cheetahs often chirp as a way to communicate, especially with their mothers. Unlike their feline counterparts like the Lion and Tiger, Cheetahs can’t roar. Instead, they are one of the few cats that can purr continuously, both while inhaling and exhaling, occasionally pausing to chirp with their mothers.

The video quickly gained traction, with more than 19,000 views in just one day and over 3,000 likes. Viewer comments range from gushing to inspired. “Cheetahs are purrfection in cat form,” shared one commenter, while another added, “Absolutely precious.” What resonates most with viewers is the deep mother-and-child connection, something that transcends species and feels universally relatable.

Beyond the adorable chirps, the video also highlights the importance of conservation efforts led by accredited zoos like the San Diego Zoo. Breeding programs and rehabilitation initiatives play a key role in helping preserve the Cheetah, which is currently considered an endangered species.

Hilarious Puppy Turns Car Ride Into a Full-On Hostage Situation

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 11:48am

The car hadn’t even picked up speed yet and she already looked like she was planning her escape.

Petunia, a small puppy with a very strong opinion about car rides, has turned every trip into something that feels oddly dramatic. Her parent joked that it feels less like a drive and more like “a hostage situation.” And once you see her reactions, it’s hard to unsee it.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

She hates the car—that part is obvious. But she loves where the car goes.

The Dog Who Wants Out But Not Really

As her owner explained in a Reddit post uploaded to r/WhatsWrongWithYourDog, “She hates the car but she loves the destination so it feels like I'm driving my 81 year old grandmother around town like she's ready to duck and roll the second the car bounces but also gonna call the army if we go over 40.”

That contradiction is what makes it so funny. One second she’s tense, watching every movement, ready to react if the car slows down too suddenly. The next, she’s completely on board with the destination.

Related: Tiny Golden Retriever Puppy Finds Sweetest Bed on Ride to Forever Home

One commenter captured the energy perfectly: “She’s acting like she’s being driven to her own execution.” Another added that their own dog stares through the rearview mirror like a backseat driver, silently judging every turn.

If you've ever driven a car with a nervous dog, you've probably experienced that same exact moment. You hit a bump, and suddenly they’re standing, bracing, deciding if this is the moment everything goes wrong.

Why Some Dogs Struggle in the Car

Here’s what a lot of pet parents don’t realize. Car anxiety in dogs often comes from association, not the car itself.

If most trips end at the vet, the dog learns quickly that the car equals something stressful. Even if they enjoy parks or walks, that early pattern sticks. Motion sensitivity can also play a role, especially in younger dogs whose balance systems are still developing.

So what may look like stubborn behavior is often anticipation.

How to Help Your Dog Love Car Rides

The fix usually isn’t forcing more car time. It’s changing what the car means.

Short, low-stakes trips help. Sitting in the parked car with treats. Driving a few minutes and coming straight back. Letting the dog exit before the stress builds too much.

Over time, your dog’s expectations change, and their behavior changes. You’re not teaching them to “tolerate” the car. You’re giving them a reason to trust it.

There’s a point in almost every car ride where you take a look back and catch your dog looking at you. Not relaxed. Not panicked. Just evaluating the situation.

As if they’re thinking, “I’m watching you. Don’t mess this up.”

Petunia hasn’t fully decided how she feels yet, but she still hops in, because she knows that the uncomfortable clunky metal box is the only way to get to the world she loves.

Gray Cat Sees Mom Massaging Senior Dog and Something Unexpected Happens

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 10:10am

Dogs are known for their empathy and compassion, making them top picks as therapy animals in hospitals, schools, and nursing homes. Cats still have a stereotype of being overly independent and aloof, yet felines have a nurturing side they often show to loved ones in need.

Whiskey the senior dog recently began rehab due to some health issues and his feline brother River wanted to support his recovery.

Oakley was lying on the floor as his mom gently massaged him as part of his rehab regimen in the TikTok from @whiskeytoller. River lingered nearby and seemed both concerned and curious about his canine brother.

"I noticed my cat started acting differently after my senior dog needed rehab," the onscreen text explained. "He would come over whenever I would give Oakley his massages. He kept watching closely and offering his support and comfort."

River got closer to Oakley in each clip, almost like he picked up on the pooch needing extra care. The pretty kitty saw that his fur baby brother was hurting and wanted to lend a paw.

"Then he started doing something unexpectedly sweet," the story continued as River snuggled and kissed Oakley. "I think he wanted to do more than just comfort his brother Oakley."

River Took Over for Mom

River went from giving Oakley physical affection to actually massaging his sibling just like their mom had been doing. The gray cat went full-on masseuse mode for Oakley, climbing on top of him to get certain angles and making sure he covered the pooch's whole body with gentle rubs. All he needed was some candles and zen spa music to complete the setting.

"I couldn’t believe how sweet this was — River just wanted to help his brother Oakley too," the caption shared, with the onscreen text adding, "River is the best kitty brother to Oakley ever."

Followers praised the sweet cat for his compassion and brotherly love.

"That's unconditional love for you," another posted.

With River on the job, Oakley is definitely on the road to recovery.

French Bulldog Missing for 2 Years Is Finally Found and the Reunion Is Incredible

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 10:05am

When your dog disappears, there's this really difficult moment where you have to make the impossible decision: do you keep searching, or do you give up and accept that they're never coming back?

For the Picardo family in San Jose, that question haunted them for nearly two and a half years. Their French Bulldog, Koko, disappeared in 2023 after their gardener accidentally left the backyard gate open. Koko and her companion, Gizmo—both very  much beloved family members—just vanished into thin air.

What followed was textbook search protocol: police reports, neighborhood canvassing, flyers everywhere, constant shelter checks, microchips activated as missing. "Time just kept going on, and we kept checking, going to local shelters. We activated them as missing with their microchips," the family told NBC Bay Area's Marianne Favro.

@nbcbayarea

On Sunday, a South Bay family was reunited with their lost dog Koko after nearly two and a half years. Marianne Favro reports. #sanjose#familyreunion#dogs

♬ original sound - NBC Bay Area - NBC Bay Area

Then, scammers made the situation even worse, demanding $500 via Apple Pay and threatening to, "send your dogs to Nevada," if they didn't pay the ransom. Two years passed and the family's 7-year-old daughter was completely devastated.

This week, one phone call changed everything.

Zoe Maxine, a 23-year-old DJ from San Francisco, did somethine most would not have done. She'd actually bought a Frenchie off Craigslist for $500 over a year ago, in San Jose. She named her Mochi. But, when Zoe could no longer reach the sellers, she got suspicious and searched online. What happened next, no one could have expected. She found Koko's photo and contacted the Picardos.

"She sent the picture of Koko. We just bawled our eyes out because we're like, that's her. That's her," the Picardo family said.

Related: Boxer Dog's 'Rage Tappy Taps' at Grandpa in Her Spot Are Hilariously Dramatic

Zoe told NBC, "I didn't feel right keeping her when her owner was searching for her. I'm happy her owner gets to know she's alive and well and is reunited with her."

Microchips Help Reunite Lost Dogs Even Years Later—Here's Why They Matter

This reunion happened because of three things: a registered microchip, someone willing to check it, and someone with the integrity to make it right. Research shows that dogs can find their way home using scent for shorter distances (up to 15 miles) and potentially, even Earth's magnetic fields for longer journeys. But, French Bulldogs—with their sweet flat faces and compact builds (those tiny little legs)—aren't built for long-distance travel like some larger breeds. When they're lost or stolen, microchips become their only way to return home and that's only if whoever finds them cares enough to do the work.

Koko's story demonstrates exactly why activating a chip as "missing" and keeping registration current matters so much. It's the difference between a dog lost forever and a family reunited.

The reunion happened last Sunday. Now, eight-year-old, Koko, is happily back home; chasing sticks, getting belly rubs, and meeting two new family members—Mia and Abraham, born while she was gone.

The comments captured the vibe:

"I hope Gizmo will find his way home, too."

"I'm so happy there are still good people out there."

"What a great person to give Koko back! Which was only right even though she lost money."

Gizmo is still out there somewhere. The Picardos are hoping that someone will do the right thing; exactly what Zoe did—check for a microchip, search to see if the puppy is missing from their home, and do the right thing, bring him home.

Welcome home, Coco! For the rest of us, be more like Zoe Maxine.

Vets Issue Urgent Warning for Dog Owners as Tick Season Arrives Early in These States

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:48am

It starts the same way every year. The air gets warmer. Walks get longer. Your dog pushes through the grass like nothing has changed.

Then later that night, your hand pauses mid-pet. Something small that wasn't there before.

Tick season doesn't come with a warning. Yet this year, the season has started earlier, spread faster, and shown up in places you would not expect.

🐶SIGN UP to get "pawsitivity" delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

Years ago, ticks were a late-spring concern. But this year, some states have reported tick issues as early as February.

Across the United States, veterinarians, researchers and public health officials are issuing urgent warnings, not as a precaution, but because they're already seeing the shift happen in real time.

Because the real risk isn't just the tick you find, it's the one you don't.

Which States Are Seeing the Earliest Tick Surge?

Getty Images

The first signs are subtle—a dog scratching more than usual, a tiny speck buried in fur. Easy to dismiss, until it isn't.

Across the Northeast, those signs are showing up earlier than expected.

In New York, labs tracking tick activity are seeing submissions surge, more than doubling in just a year. But it's not just the volume that stands out. It's the type of ticks being found. For example, the Lone Star tick, which was considered a southern species, has now expanded its range.

Connecticut is seeing the same shift. Ticks started showing up as early as February, weeks ahead of the typical season. After a winter that should have reduced their numbers, conditions did the opposite. Snow acted like insulation, protecting ticks from extreme cold, while sudden warm spells triggered early activity. As a result, the season is longer and more active.

In Wyoming, for example, tick season usually begins in late April. However, this year, veterinarians are already hearing from pet parents who are finding ticks on dogs, cats, and even horses far earlier than expected.

This is not an isolated problem. It is an expanding pattern.

What State Has the Worst Tick Problem?

Looking at the data, one state stands out: New York.

According to CDC data, between 2019 and 2022, New York reported more than 33,000 cases of tick-borne diseases. For comparison, the second state on the list, Pennsylvania, reported 25,000. New Jersey, Wisconsin and Maine round up the top five.

While not all cases involve dogs, the numbers reflect just how active and widespread tick populations have become.

What vets are warning is that tick risk is no longer a problem limited to a handful of states. It is spreading.

What Are the First Signs of a Tick on a Dog?

BSIP/Universal Images Group via Getty Images

Most dog parents don't notice a tick right away. Sadly, by the time they find it, the tick has already attached and started feeding.

The challenge is that some tick-borne diseases can begin transmitting within hours.

Here's what to watch for:

Physical Signs of Ticks on Dogs
  • Persistent scratching or licking in one area, namely, parts around the neck, ears, groin or between the toes
  • A small, hard bump on the skin that wasn't there before
  • A visible tick attached to the skin, ranging from the size of a sesame seed to a swollen, gray-blue lump
  • Redness, swelling or irritation at a bite site
  • Scabs with no clear cause during grooming

Tick-borne disease symptoms don't always appear right away. They can develop days, weeks, or even months after a bite.

Watch for lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, stiff joints, swollen lymph nodes, pale gums, nosebleeds, unusual bleeding, reluctance to move, vomiting or diarrhea. The moment you notice any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian.

How to Safely Remove a Tick From Your Dog

First things first, speed matters. Act sooner to lower the risk of disease transmission.

Sometimes, you cannot wait for a vet visit. However, you do need to remove the tick properly. Tools needed include: fine-tipped tweezers or a tick removal tool, disposable gloves, rubbing alcohol, and a sealed container.

Step-by-Step Tick Removal
  • Put on gloves and part your dog's fur to expose the tick
  • Grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible, focusing on the head
  • Pull upward slowly and steadily without twisting
  • Check that the entire tick is removed
  • Place the tick in alcohol to kill and preserve it
  • Clean the bite area thoroughly

Do not use petroleum jelly, nail polish, or heat. While some methods suggest using these products to help remove the tick, they can cause improper detachment. As a result, the tick leaves parts behind in the skin that can cause disease days after it is removed.

Should Dog Owners in All States Be Worried?

Short answer: yes.

Ticks are now a widespread problem, appearing in rural and urban environments. What used to be a countryside problem is now showing up in city parks, backyards, and everyday walking routes.

The message in 2026 is simple: Low risk doesn't mean no risk.

Tick populations are adapting. Warmer winters, shifting climates, and expanding habitats are changing where and when ticks appear. Areas that once saw minimal activity are now reporting regular encounters.

For dog owners, that means awareness matters more than ever.

Because in a season like this, it's not about whether ticks are around. It's about whether you notice them in time.

Chunky Dachshund Getting in Shape Is Exhausted After a 15-Minute Walk and It's Too Sweet

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:20am

Just like people, sometimes dogs put on a little extra weight, and it can be hard to lose it.

This can happen especially after a long, tough winter when it was harder to take walks outside.

Influencer Halley Kate is dealing with this with one of her four Dachshunds named Oslo.

"Oslo needs to lose some weight because he's a little chunky! So we've really been trying to burn some calories, take him on some walks," she says into the camera.

@halleykate

This & his diet is gonna be really strict 😂😂

♬ Nice and Easy - Louis Adrien

She explains that they just took a 15-minute walk, and well, Oslo is acting like he just climbed Mount Everest.

He's lying immobile on the floor in the middle of Kate's kitchen while one of his siblings stands nearby, confused.

"He's so tired! He's in for a rude awakening over the next couple of weeks cause we're getting him snatched for summer!" she says.

Ohh, Oslo, you may be a little chunky, but you are still oh so cute!

How To Help a Dachshund Lose Weight in a Healthy Way

Weight gain in Dachshunds can be very common due to eating too many calories and not getting enough exercise.

However, there can be other reasons for weight gain, including heart disease, tumors, parasites, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, neuturing, and some medications.

Be sure to take your pup to the vet before just putting them on a diet to see what the medical reason is behind your Dachshund's weight gain.

Once the dog has been assessed, then with the vet, you can decide what kind of food they should eat and if you should limit servings.

A slow feeder may also be an option.

Related: Dachshund Tries To Stow Away in a Jacket and We're Dying

Then you can also discuss the exercise plan, which may mean one or two additional walks per day or just going for longer walks.

Kate is the proud mom of now four Dachshunds—she adopted her fourth Dachshund late last year—and she loves walking them in statement outfits.

Sweet Bull Terrier With ‘Broken Heart Nose’ Has the Best Transformation

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:00am

Being in the shelter is a surefire way to break a dog's heart, even if they're the happiest dog in the world. It's just so hard for them, and for some, they stay there for a long time before finding their forever homes. It's all just so sad.

Luckily for one Bull Terrier, her time came to find a forever home. Her family just couldn't pass her up: when they saw her, they saw that her nose literally formed the shape of a broken heart. There was no way they were leaving her behind, and then the coolest thing happened:

@sugar.the.diva

Sugar the Bull Terrier checks all the boxes for me: heartwarming story, Target dog, heart nose. There's no getting better than that. Plus, she's very sweet, according to her new family!

Related: Shelter German Shepherd Begs Human To Hold His Paw and Gets the Happiest Ending

They adopted Sugar in 2024: animal control picked her up off the streets and brought her to the shelter. She would have been around 1 then, so still just a puppy, and she was really having a hard time. You could literally see it on her face: her nose looked like a broken heart!

Her new family adopted her after she had spent a little time in the shelter, and she was ready to go home. Pretty much as soon as she got there, she started to heal completely. Even her heart nose started to mend, and now it forms a full heart:

She's also a diva who loves to wear clothes, which is exactly the type of life she deserves to live. She has a whole bunch of different outfits, and she likes to choose based on her mood. She's so easygoing that she even lets her mom put sunglasses on her.

They really lucked out with this sweetie pie, that's for sure. She's one of a kind, and I'm so grateful they share her antics with us!

Bull Terriers Are the Kindest Dogs

The Bull Terrier is a severely underappreciated breed. Most people know them because of the Target dog, Bullseye, but that's pretty much it. They're kind of uncommon to see, but they're some of the best dogs ever! I've never met one who wasn't a total sweetheart.

Happy Bull Terrier smiling in her yard.

Bull Terriers are a mid-sized breed that does great with kids, other dogs, and even cats in the right circumstances. They're energetic and excellent listeners, which makes them perfect for:

  • Joining you for runs and hikes.
  • Taking trips to the dog park to socialize.
  • Accompanying you to pet-friendly stores.

You just have to be okay with them begging everybody for pets, because they will. There's just no way around it!

Calico Cat With Special Needs Has the Sweetest, Silliest Smile

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 8:55am

You know that split second where your brain is trying to process what you’re looking at and it just… can’t quite catch up? That’s this cat. Because at first, it’s just a little Calico cat standing on a desk, totally normal, nothing to see here.

And then you notice the posture. And then the face. And then the smile. And suddenly you’re staring at what looks like a tiny meerkat with the energy of someone who just heard good news and is trying to act casual about it.

@dhsiisk

#cat

♬ original sound - dhsiisk

TikTok user @dhsiisk shared the clip, and people immediately zeroed in on two things: that unbelievably sweet smile and the mystery of his front paws. It appears he may be missing part of both, though no context is given, which has viewers asking gentle, concerned questions while also completely falling in love.

Related: Rare Somali Cat Looks Like He Crawled Out of a Volcano

Because, despite whatever he’s been through, this little guy is radiating pure joy. One commenter said, “Well, this is by far the cutest cat ever!” while another declared, “Obviously a professional model,” which feels accurate. He’s got presence. He’s got angles. He’s got… whatever that smile is doing.

And yes, the smile is a whole situation. Someone asked, “Why is he smiling?” and another responded, “He is truly smiling. So happy!” which honestly feels less like a question and more like a fact. That is a kitty who woke up and chose delight.

Then there’s this: “Your cat is absolutely beautiful, what a charmer,” which is exactly right. He’s not just cute, he’s charming in a very specific, slightly mysterious way, like he might cuddle rodents whenever he gets a chance. He (or she) is such a friendly-looking guy!

“OMG, he’s a cute clawsaurus,” made me laugh harder than it should have. “Such a sweet face” and “Smiley cat” pretty much sum up the rest of the comment section. It’s just a crowd of people collectively melting.

Also, and I mean this with love, Meatball would immediately try to body-check him off that desk just to see what happens. Not maliciously. Just… for science. Elvis, our Calico cat, however, would adopt him within 45 seconds and start grooming him like he’s been hers his entire life.

Are Calico Cats Always Female? @meowyouknow

5 Personality Traits of Calico Cats! #cat #kitten #catsoftiktok #cats

♬ You - Vietra

Calico cats are famous for their tricolor coats, usually a mix of white, black, and orange, and they come with a fun little genetic twist. The vast majority of Calico cats are female, thanks to the coat color's link to the X chromosome.

Because females have two X chromosomes, they can display both black and orange coloring, creating that classic patchwork look. Male Calico cats do exist, but they are extremely rare and usually have an extra chromosome, which can come with health challenges.

I do have a big Calico cat named Elvis, and she is just the sweetest thing. Technically, she belongs to my dog, because he’s the one who adopted her, which feels like a detail that raises more questions than it answers, but here we are. She’s calm, affectionate, and very much the quiet queen of the house.

And that tracks, because Calico cats are often described as having big personalities to match their bold coloring. In this case, though, this little smiling cat is bringing something extra. Not just personality, but pure, unfiltered joy in cat form. Which, honestly, feels like something we could all use a little more of.

Helpful Macaw Impersonates Mom To Get the Dog Inside

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 8:20am

If you don't have human toddlers following you around and mimicking your voice and laugh all day, a talking bird will do the trick! These little comedians are full of sass and personality, picking up any number of words and phrases to repeat 24/7. If you're lucky, they might even help corral the other house pets like the best little sidekick.

Theo, the Macaw, is one smart boy with an impressive vocabulary and a long list of talents. This time, he's showing Mom how he calls the dog inside, just like her, and it's too funny!

As captioned, Mom "bringing in the reinforcements" gets the job done! As Theo perfectly impersonates her voice, tone, volume, and cadence, I'm sure Louis, the dog, wondered if Mom somehow cloned herself as he picked up the pace to get home.

He's one of the most astute Parrots on the web and is always up for helping out any way he can—even if it means shouting for the dog. He's entertaining without trying, and it's exactly why more than 36k people follow his antics on TikTok. Theo is one cool dude!

Related: Macaw Has Cutest Response to First Golf Cart Ride

Calling the dog exactly like Mom is one thing, but as I said, he has a lot of vocal talents.

Like other internet-famous Macaws, African Grey Parrots, and even Cockatoos, there's no telling what will fly out of his mouth next. It could be a random phrase, or a deep, dark secret you didn't know he overheard. Whatever it is, he's just a little cutie—especially when he mimics Mom's laugh!

As one of the most intelligent birds on the planet, Macaws have comparable cognitive skills to that of a 3- to 4-year-old human toddler. They can learn hundreds of words, how to complete complex puzzles, mimic sounds, use tools, and even understand certain concepts like shapes and colors.

As social flock birds who communicate with other birds in the wild, they thrive when they can do the same at home with their people. One day, it's copying Mom's laugh, and the next, it's calling the dog inside. Whatever Theo says or does next, it's sure to be another viral hit!

Golden Retriever Has 'Girlfriend' Over and Makes Dad Feel Like a Third Wheel

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 8:10am

Being with a couple when you're solo can make you feel a little out of place. When you're that dreaded third wheel, it's hard to know where to look or what to do when you're hanging out with a couple of lovebirds who are being demonstrative.

Joey the Golden Retriever had his Golden girlfriend over to watch TV, and the two were getting pretty cozy on the couch. The pooch pair barely noticed Joey's father sitting right next to them, who wasn't sure where to look when the fur babies got a bit physical.

@joey_how_u_doinn

‘Wait wait she’s watching’ 🤣🥰 #goldenretriever #dogsofttiktok

♬ Pump It - The Black Eyed Peas

Joey and his girlfriend practically sat on top of each other on the couch despite there being plenty of room to sprawl out. The canines romantically canoodled and poured on the PDA , oblivious to Joey's dad sitting smooshed at the end of the sofa — or maybe they were so enraptured by each other, they didn't care who was around.

The Goldens got a little steamy with their flirtatious fondling, making Joey's father uncomfortable. The dog dad wasn't sure whether to pretend he didn't see anything or leave the room. He's apparently planning to talk to Joey about the birds and the bees after the dog's lady friend leaves.

"My dog has his girlfriend over and I think it's time to have a chat," the onscreen text revealed.

Followers empathized with the dad's unenviable situation while marveling at the passion between the pooches.

"These dogs are more in love than some human couples in relationships," one remarked.

"That feeling when you realize you are the third wheel," another noted.

"He is definitely in love and in front of the parents is wild," a follower posted.

"Make sure to tell them no closed doors in the house," someone pointed out.

"This is at least PG-13," a fan commented.

Joey Has a Way With Women

Apparently, Joey's charms work their magic on humans as well as canines. The Golden guy gets lots of attention from ladies wherever he goes.

A previous post highlighted several interactions where Joey was surrounded by women giving him lots of pets and praise, and he loved every minute of it.

Joey's girlfriend may want to keep him on a short leash when he's around females, just to play it safe.

Maine Coon Cat's First Time Out in the Sun Is Pure Magic

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 8:00am

Maine winters are no joke. It's nearly May, and I'm still not convinced we're out of the woods: it just snowed a little last week! In some places, there will be massive piles of snow until at least June. It's just the price you pay to live in the best state, I guess.

One Maine Coon knows exactly what I mean. He lives here, too, and he recently got to get outside and enjoy the sunshine for the first time. Needless to say, he definitely loved it:

@mcfloofenpantfamily

It was a long cold winter. Thankfully that’s over. Tan time #spring #sunshine #maine #fyp #foryoupage

♬ Sun Is Shining - Bob Marley & The Wailers

The McFloofenpant Family is a group of 7 Maine Coons living on a farm! In addition to the kitties, there are a couple of donkeys on the farm, but they get to live outside all the time. The cats typically only go out when it's nice out.

Lucky for them, it was very nice out on this day: 70 degrees and sunny! They couldn't wait. The cat in this video, Elvis, is the one who really loves going outside: he's orange. He loves a good adventure. Some might even call him The King!

Related: Maine Coon Kitten’s Surprising Transformation Makes Him the Most Handsome Boy

Of all 7 Maine Coons, he might just be the fluffiest. He loves to show everyone his belly, which is the fluffiest part of him. It makes him look almost like a lion, even when he's just lounging around inside:

@mcfloofenpantfamily

♬ Enter Sandman - Metallica

This video is awesome because it shows off that he also has very pronounced thumbs! A lot of Maine Coons are bred to be polydactyl, meaning they have extra toes, which is what causes that look. It doesn't hurt them at all; it's just adorable!

Maine Coons Love the Outdoors

Maine Coons are known for being adventurous, which is an awesome trait if you're looking for an adventure buddy, but it can also make them restless. These cats need stimulation every single day to stay healthy!

Now that it's warming up, taking your Maine Coon outside is the perfect way to get in some enrichment. If you're going to, you'll want to make sure they're supervised and secure using things like:

  • A leash.
  • A stroller.
  • A catio.

If you have a fenced-in yard, you could try just letting them roam around, but you'll need to keep an extra close eye on them. They can hop the fence if they really want to... Not that Elvis would. He's too busy warming his belly in the sun!

Dachshund Spots Mum Outside Day Care Window and His Happy Spin Says It All

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 7:55am

Some dogs play it cool at pickup.

Huey doesn't.

In this ridiculously cute video, Mom walks up to the day care window with her phone out, filming her little peanut from outside, and the second Huey sees her, the whole world changes. There's no slow realization. No cautious double take. He knows exactly who that is, and his tiny body reacts like joy just hit him all at once.

The spin is what really gets you. It's not just a wag. It's not just a little bounce. It's a happy little Dachshund twirl that somehow says everything a sentence could not. Excitement. Relief. Adoration. Possibly a little “finally.” Huey looks like every thought in his head has been replaced with one single beautiful fact: Mom is here!

@hueythesausage

Pick up Huey day ….. it was nice and quiet in daycare so loved his hey mum circle 🥹🥹🥹 #newyork #dog #dogsoftiktok #dachshund #bestfriend

♬ original sound - estwne

At one point, Huey seems to glance over at one of the other dogs like, “Hey, that’s my mom. Do you see her? That is my person. I love her.” It's such a tiny moment, but it makes the whole thing feel even more personal and funny. He's not just happy. He's proud. He wants the room to be aware that his favorite human has arrived.

It's not big or complicated. It's just a tiny dog having a giant feeling in the most obvious, wholehearted way possible. And people cannot resist that. One comment says, “These videos of Huey brighten my day 😊 he is so adorable!” and yes, exactly. He has that kind of energy. The kind that cuts through everything else and just makes the day softer for a second.

Dachshunds are already experts at having emotions that seem much too large for their little bodies, and Huey is clearly top of his class. He's small, dramatic, affectionate, and apparently fully committed to making sure his mom knows she has been missed.

View this post on Instagram

Which, really, is a pretty lovely thing.

There's something so comforting about a dog reacting like your arrival is the best event on the schedule. No pretense. No coolness. Just pure excitement that you came back.

Huey isn't trying to hide it.

And thank goodness for that, because this little reunion is cute enough to improve public morale.

Reunion Rituals Mean a Lot to Dogs

Huey’s little spin is precious, but it also points to something real: Dogs often build strong emotional routines around the people they love most. Familiar pickups, voices, faces, and daily rhythms can become a huge part of their sense of comfort and excitement. Rover explains that dogs often choose favorite people through attention, affection, consistency, and positive experiences, which is why moments like this can feel so big to them.

Huey spun like his whole little universe had just pulled up outside the glass.

Newfoundland on a ‘Hot Girl Walk’ Has the Whole Town Going Wild

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 6:00am

Some dogs are showstoppers, no matter what. There are plenty of reasons why a dog will catch everyone's eye, but their size is often a really big one. Huge dogs, as well as super tiny ones, always get people talking.

Case in point: this Newfoundland. She was just out for her daily walk, but that walk shook the world. Metaphorically, and also, possibly literally. She's large, in charge, and absolutely perfect in every single way:

@lilmoonwater

nah she ate the runway up

♬ оригінальний звук - Diva Pixel

As someone in the comments of Cristal's video pointed out, there are actually two divas in this video. I mean, those pink swim trunks deserve their moment, too!

Related: Newfoundland Puppy’s First Time With a Fan Makes Him Look So Easy, Breezy, Beautiful

Since this isn't Cristal's dog, there's not much we know about her, unfortunately. Someone in the comments claims they're local, and that the man walking her is known for always having Newfoundlands and having a ton of parrots as well, but that's all unverified.

We don't need anyone's entire life story to know that this dog is an absolute diva, though. The way she walks definitely proves that she knows exactly who she is and where she belongs. She's on the bigger side for this breed, and she's so fluffy!

How Big Do Newfoundland Dogs Get?

The Newfoundland is classified as a "giant breed," alongside other massive pups like the Mastiff, Great Danes, and Saint Bernards. Typically, Newfoundlands weigh between 100 and 150 pounds when they're full-grown, though many exceed that.

Male Newfoundlands are the largest of the Newfoundland breed, with many of them even pushing 200 pounds. When they stand on their back legs, these dogs can stand as tall as a human! If you're not ready for another full-sized adult in your house, this is not the breed for you.

Newfoundlands Need to Exercise

As with most giant dog breeds, Newfoundlands can be prone to being couch potatoes a lot of the time. They love to lounge around: being massive takes up a lot of energy. They're also covered in fur, so they tend to overheat.

A Newfoundland dog swimming in the sunshine.

Image via Shutterstock / rzoze19

Even though they might not want to, you have to make sure your Newfoundland gets enough exercise. Just because they're giant doesn't mean they're not prone to obesity or that they won't get bored! However, it might look a little different for them. Exercising your Newfoundland could include:

  • Swimming: most Newfies love to swim, and it's a great workout.
  • Daily walks at an easy pace.
  • Games of fetch in small bursts.
  • "Foraging" exercises and scavenger hunts.

Luckily, this precious girl gets to go on hot girl walks every single day. The whole town would miss her if she didn't!
