Nimoy Foundation Honors Astrophysicist and Self-Proclaimed 'Girl Spock'
Dr. Jessica Schonhut‑Stasik, known affectionately in the science community as “Girl Spock,” recently received the Nimoy‑Knight Foundation’s Live Long and Prosper Tribute Award for her work as an astrophysicist and neurodiversity advocate. The foundation’s mission, shaped by Leonard Nimoy’s legacy, honors individuals whose work reflects curiosity and courage. Schonhut‑Stasik’s blend of rigorous research and outreach is recognized as a shining example.
Her focus lies in an appropriately futuristic field called galactic archeology, which treats stars like fossils to reconstruct the history of galaxies. By studying a star’s motion, chemical makeup, and age, scientists can piece together how galaxies formed, how they interacted with each other, and how ancient collisions shaped their present structures. This research helps answer deep questions about how the Milky Way and its neighbors evolved over billions of years.
In her public reflection on receiving the award, Schonhut‑Stasik shared gratitude for the recognition and emphasized her work’s broader implications, especially for inclusion in science fields. The honor includes a pendant that flew on a Blue Origin mission. Her goal to become the first openly autistic woman in space adds another layer of significance to the accolade, highlighting her dual commitment to scientific excellence and representation.
She also reflected on why she feels a connection to the half-human, half-Vulcan Mr, Spock. 'As a high-masking woman,' she said, 'I often feel half human and half… something else. I used to hide that side. Now I wear it proudly. I was fortunate to have the support and resources to enhance my neurodivergent strengths, and I've made it my mission to help other space scientists do the same through my non-profit, The Neuroverse Initiative.'
Schonhut‑Stasik’s recognition also highlights the broader 'Star Trek'‑inspired culture of honoring innovation. For example, the Roddenberry Prize (named for 'Star Trek' creator Gene Roddenberry and founded by his son) celebrates bold ideas and early-stage ventures that aim to make the world a better place, demonstrating how the legacy of Star Trek continues to inspire curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving in science and technology.
'Thank you to my mentors, students, collaborators, and friends who made this possible,' Schonhut‑Stasik added at the end of her announcement post. 'The future is what we make it, and it will be stronger with the Vulcans among us.'
Which 'Love Is Blind' Couples Are Still Together in 2026?
Since the TV phenomenon Love Is Blind debuted in 2020, viewers have watched singles fall in love and get engaged sight unseen. While not all relationships on the hit Netflix series have ended in marriage, most of the couples who did exchange vows on the series are still going strong ... or so we assume.
Let's take a look back at which couples tied the knot over the course of the first four seasons (there were nine of them) — and which of that bunch are still together.
Season 1 Love Is Blind couples who are still togetherLauren Speed and Cameron HamiltonNetflix
Fan-favorites Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton fell in love on the first season of the Netflix series. "I don't think that I ever could have met someone like Cameron any other way," Speed admitted on her wedding day.
The pair are still going strong, years after their nuptials aired on Netflix. Speed and Hamilton celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in November 2024.
In a sweet 2022 tribute on Instagram, Hamilton wrote: "Happy birthday, my love! I’m grateful for you every day, rain or shine. You light up this world. The last four years together have been a gift. I threw away the receipt, so we’ve got to keep each other 😁 Happy anniversary, baby!"
Speed also commemorated their anniversary, writing: "4 years into forever with you Mr. Hamilton ❤️ I’m so much better because of it! I love you to the moon and back! Forever my Clyde #MinusThePowPow Happy Anniversary Baby! 🎉🍾💍 ."
Since appearing on Love Is Blind, Speed and Hamilton have also released a book titled Leap of Faith: Finding Love the Modern Way.
Amber Pike and Matt BarnettNetflix
Amber Pike and Matt Barnett were the first couple to officially say "I do" on Love Is Blind. But, before walking down the aisle, the bride declared that the morning of her wedding was a "disaster" because Barnett was "having cold feet." However, they warmed up in time for the ceremony. "I can't imagine a life without you," Barnett told Pike, to which she replied, "Good, cause you're stuck."
Like Speed and Hamilton, Pike and Barnett celebrated six years of marriage in November 2024.
Barnett has praised his "gorgeous and amazing wife" on social media, thanking her for "always pushing me to be my best self, for being my rock, and for filling my heart with joy and laughter. You are my everything and I'm blessed to spend every day with you."
The couple welcomed their first child in April 2025.

Season 2 Love Is Blind couples who are still together (there are none)While Season 2 ended with two couples tying the knot, both have since split.
Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely—no longer togetherADAM ROSE/NETFLIX
Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced in August 2022 that they were splitting. "What's going on, family. After much thought, we're saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing. While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that's okay," a statement on Instagram read. "Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best."
"We hope you all will give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives. Thank you to our close friends and family for loving us both through our experience. To the Love Is Blind family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support. Each of you have brought overwhelming love and joy into our lives," the pair's statement continued. "This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don't regret a single thing!"
In court documents obtained by E! News, McNeely is said to have cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.
Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson—no longer together...but reconnected as friendsADAM ROSE/NETFLIX
After one year of marriage, People reported in August 2022 that Danielle Ruhl had filed for divorce from NickThompson. Months later, Ruhl told E! News, "There has been no accountability from his side...I wanted to make sure that it was noted that it takes two, but unfortunately, with every interview, he is putting all of the blame on me and this isn't new. This was something he did the entire relationship."
Thompson reacted to his ex's remarks in a statement to People. "It's hurtful to hear these comments. It's disappointing that Danielle chooses to make false claims and defamatory comments about me and our relationship," he said. "It's especially hurtful because she knows firsthand how difficult being in the public eye is."
Thompson also said that Ruhl's claims were "either untrue or best-case scenario, lacking context."
"As I have stated before, I implemented a boundary to not engage in communication with Danielle for my own mental health because I did not feel like our communication was trustworthy or yielding positive outcomes," he told People. "In good conscience, I will not share private matters or my experience in our relationship publicly because it's not in my character to disparage people. I am and have been ready to stop living in the past and move forward."
Since then, however, couple has made amends. On May 7, 2023, Ruhl posted a photo of the couple getting cozy on a couch. "Sup," she wrote on her Instagram Story.
This made fans wonder whether the two were back together. But, for now, they seem to just be friends: On an episode of Thompson’s Eyes Wide Open podcast, Ruhl talked about how their shared experience on Love Is Blind bonded them.
“We lived through all of it together, but no one else in the world, even my friends— everyone else that was on the show—none of them had the experience that we did,” she said. “And that’s why it was so hard to not be able to find comfort with anyone. No one else can relate to this but you and I.”
Both Ruhl and Thompson have alleged that elements of the filming experience were abusive — a claim that Netflix and production company Kinetic Content have denied.
Season 3 Love Is Blind couples who are still togetherAlexa Alfia and Brennon LemieuxSara Mally/Netflix
Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux were the first couple of Season 3 to get engaged in the pods and the first to walk away from the altar married. "While Brennon never converted to Judaism, he did convert me to that country livin," she wrote on Instagram in 2022. "We’ve spent the last year and a half going to football games on the weekends, spending time with family and friends, and falling even more in love."
"This man has changed the way I look at life and shown me what truly matters," she added. "He’s taught me how to love and how to not take life so seriously. I love you so much my cowboy❤️."
In 2023, Alfia told Us Weeklythat she and Lemieux were "working" on having kids.
They welcomed their daughter, Vienna Ziva Lemieux, in July 2024.
Colleen Reed and Matt BoltonSara Mally/Netflix
While Colleen Reed admitted multiple times ahead of her wedding that she didn't know whether she wanted to go through with it, she ended up taking "that leap of faith" with Matt Bolton. The pair were the second couple to get married in Season 3 of Love Is Blind.
During the reunion episode, the pair revealed that they were not living together. Reed explained that "logistics-wise and money-wise" they "weren't there" after the wedding. "We got married in an unorthodox way, so we're doing marriage in an unorthodox way," Reed said.
At the time, Reed shared that they had a plan in a couple of months, when their leases lined up, to move in together. "I can't wait to move in with him. I can't wait," she said. "I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with him, so I'm content. We are content. We're on the same page with how we're doing things."
Almost two years after their wedding, Colleen revealed on Out of the Pods, Deepti Vempati and Natalie Lee's podcast, that she and Matt would finally move in together.
"Me and Matt are going to move in together in the next two weeks," Colleen said. "We don't have the finances to buy, by any means, but we're going to rent in Dallas and then that gives us time to really find the perfect home for what works for us."
Now they live together in continued wedded bliss!

"Not a lot of people knew, but we had actually gotten a lease the day before the wedding. And so, we knew going into it," he shared.
After their wedding episode dropped on Netflix, Appiah posted photos and videos that were taken during their engagement when "the big cameras weren’t on" them.
"We got to enjoy life, and communicate, in the ways that feel most natural to us," he wrote alongside the post. "Just a quick response to anyone saying 'they have no chemistry,' or 'they don’t even love each other'.. based on what you saw, I don’t blame you for thinking that. But actually, we had the MOST fun together falling in love!"
Tiffany Pennywell and Brett BrownNetflix
Tiffany Pennywell may have fallen asleep mid-date in the pods, but that didn't stop Brett Brown from proposing to her anyway! Thirty minutes after the groom's pants were tailored, the beloved couple exchanged vows in Season 4 of Love Is Blind.
"We had no hiccups," Pennywell told Women's Health of her and Brown's journey. "It was too perfect for me, and I'm sitting here trying to figure out am I making the right decision?"
Brown gushed in the 2023 interview that "married life has been great."
"We're enjoying our life together," he continued. "Our love is growing stronger every day."
When asked about "the baby timeline" on the reunion special in April 2023, Pennywell said that she and Brown, at the time, were "really just trying to enjoy" their marriage. "We're traveling the world. We're still getting to learn one another," she continued. "But the thing is, like, we're so committed to one another. We want to have our lives set before we bring a life into this world."
Zack Goytowski and Bliss PoureetezadiNetflix
Although Zack Goytowski broke up with Bliss Poureetezadi in the pods, they got their second chance at love after he and Irina Solomonova ended their engagement.
"I just want to be with you. I just want to spend time with you. I believe there's nobody in this world who I'm meant to be with more than you," Goytowski said as he proposed to Poureetezadi. "No matter what I did. No matter how stupid I was, we were always gonna end up here. I found my person."
The pair went on to get married in Season 4 and shared their first dance to Lee Ann Womack and Sons of the Desert's "I Hope You Dance."
Poureetezadi admitted to co-host Vanessa Lachey on the reunion special that she can't wait to have a family with Goytowski. She said, "We're still talking about when that time is, but I'm really, really excited for it."
They welcomed their daughter Galileo in May 2024.

Former ‘American Idol’ Finalist Rebuilds Life After His Darkest Days
Former American Idol finalist, David Archuleta, has opened up about his darkest days in a new memoir and reveals he is now "starting again."
In an excerpt published by PEOPLE Magazine from his new memoir Devout: Losing My Faith and Finding Myself, Archuleta shared that he faced dark times as he tried to reconcile his deep faith with his sexuality. He came out as queer in 2021.
The entertainer was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his entire life. However, he couldn't come to terms with his sexuality and his religious beliefs, and this conflict almost drove him to end his life.
Archuleta told PEOPLE, "I was almost willing to give my life up because I was so devoted to what I believed. I had to learn how to not be ashamed."

Archuleta continued, "I always felt like I had to hide before. I’m just grateful to be alive and to see what I can do with my life while I’m here. It really feels like starting again.”
In his memoir, the entertainer wrote, "In the past, prayer had always helped me endure. The difference now, though, was that I felt nothing while praying. I was numb to any emotion, any connection. I kept thinking, God’s not there. I thought He abandoned me because He was so disgusted with me."
He continued, "The logic flowed that if God left me with these homosexual feelings, I supposed He didn’t want me to exist. I contemplated whether it would be better to admit to myself that I was gay or end my life. It was a constant internal war."
"The thing that held me back wasn’t the fear of death, but the fear of not dying. If I survived but broke my back, I might be paralyzed, and then it’d be impossible to try again. I’d have to exist with my thoughts for decades without being able to do anything about them."
Archuleta concluded, "Suddenly, God spoke in my head. “David, you need to stop asking me this.” He said, “You’ve been asking me this for over half of your life, since you were twelve. I’m not going to change anything. I don’t see you how you see you. It’s time for you to understand that.”
David Archuleta continues to pursue a music career as an independent artist. He released the EP Earthly Delights in 2025. Devout will be released on February 17, 2026.

Audrey Hepburn's Simple Flourless Chocolate Cake Is a Timeless Classic
It's always a great time to curl up on the couch with a classic Audrey Hepburn movie. Whether it's Passover, Valentine's Day or any other day, why not pair Roman Holiday with one of the actress's favorite desserts? Hepburn's son, Luca Dotti, published a book of his mother's recipes in 2015 titled Audrey at Home: Memories of My Mother's Kitchen.
From penne alla vodka to Turkish-style sea bass, many of the recipes in the book not only reflect a moment in Hepburn's life, but they also stand out as classic dishes that can be enjoyed by modern eaters. Dotti writes in the cookbook that his mother loved chocolate and she would have it every day as a little pick-me-up.
On special occasions and birthdays, she served her signature dessert: a flourless chocolate cake sprinkled with powdered sugar that she served with homemade whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. I couldn't think of a more quintessential dessert to make for Passover, so I went to the kitchen to give this chocolatey dessert a try.

How to Make Audrey Hepburn's Flourless Chocolate CakeStart by preheating your oven to 400°F. Spray a 10- or 12-inch round cake pan with non-stick spray. (Alternatively, if you don't mind a little bit of flour, you can butter and lightly flour your pan.) Melt the chocolate and milk in a double boiler, then add the butter and stir until smooth. Turn off the heat and whisk in the egg yolks.
In a separate bowl, gradually add the sugar to the egg whites and whip to form stiff peaks (I used my KitchenAid mixer for this part). Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the chocolate-egg yolk mixture. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes and turn off the oven.
Open the oven door and leave the cake inside for about 10 minutes. This process is a preventive measure that helps the cake's crust from cracking. Remove the cake from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before removing it from the pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream.

What I Thought of Audrey Hepburn's Flourless Chocolate CakeAt first glance, this cake looked simple, but it was actually a bit tricky to make. So tricky, in fact, I had to make it twice. On attempt number one, I used a double boiler, but had a few challenges. The bowl was touching the water underneath (rookie mistake) and the bowl also didn't fit snugly on top of the pot of water. The gap left plenty of room for steam and spurting water to get into my chocolate, which caused it to get dry and clumpy.
I pressed on in the hopes that I could fix it, but once your chocolate seizes you're usually sunk. After adding in the yolks, the cake batter got even drier and lumpier and the cake came out dry, heavy and tough. It was also bitter and tasted slightly burnt—a direct result of my failed chocolate melting.
I didn't want to let Audrey down, so I tried again. The second time around, I used the microwave to melt my chocolate, which gave me more control—and it came out perfectly. I was able to whip my yolks into it effortlessly and continue with the recipe. As you can see below, my second try was a success!

The second cake was rich and silky with impressive height. It had a cloud-like texture from the egg whites being folded into the melted chocolate and the top was slightly crisp, like the edges of your favorite brownie. If you've got a gluten-free family member or need a new dessert for Passover, this recipe is for you!

Tips for Making Audrey Hepburn's Flourless Chocolate Cake- Use the microwave, if possible. If you have a microwave, this is the time to use it. Melting the chocolate in 30-second increments, stirring between each burst, is the best and easiest way to get the job done. If you have a double boiler, make sure that the bottom of your bowl isn't touching the water and that the bowl fits snugly on top of the pot.
- Chop your chocolate. Audrey mentions using chopped chocolate in her recipe, so don't ignore this step (breaking the unsweetened chocolate bar into pieces isn't enough). Chopping your chocolate into smaller pieces helps it melt faster. And no, you can't use chocolate chips. Well, you can, but the texture will be affected because most chocolate chips have stabilizers to help them keep their shape.
- Use cocoa powder. Traditionally, recipes call for dusting the cake pan with flour to prevent sticking. If you want tokeep this cake fully flourless, you can use cocoa powder to dust your pan after spraying it with nonstick spray or coating it with butter or shortening. I used a round of parchment in the bottom of my pan for extra insurance.

In the music video, directed by Moni Haworth, Gordon, 72, is shown in a mostly-empty office building, mixing business proper with high fashion; pacing around and posing in wires.
"I was kind of musing about, is my next boss going to be an AI chatbot?" said Gordon, explaining the symbolism of the track in a press release from Grandstand Media.
She continued: "We're the first ones whose lights are going to go out—not the tech billionaires. It's so abstract that people can’t comprehend."

Along with the song, a short film was released, directed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy—the filmmaking sister duo behind Rodarte—and shot by Christopher Blauvelt.
"We go way back with Kim, we’ve known her for a really long time," said Kate, in conversation with Harper's Bazaar.
The film features Gordon dancing in a vintage 2008 Rodarte dress.
"The dress is the first piece we ever made for her, and we had her send it over to us because we thought we were going to maybe play with it or make variations for her, but we couldn’t believe how beautifully preserved it was," Laura said.
She added: "Kim wanted to dance, she wanted to move, so we focused on having movement in these different states and getting to that feeling of being alone in a space."
Gordon first made moves in the music world as a co-founder of Sonic Youth.
The band officially formed in 1981 and Gordon continued to play alongside fellow founders, Thurston Moore (also her ex-husband) and Lee Ranaldo, until 2011.
Throughout her career, Gordon has played with a number of artists and played in a number of bands—Free Kitten, Body/Head, and Glitterbust, to name a few. It wasn't until 2019 that she released her debut solo album.

Brendan Fraser's 'The Mummy 4' Lands 2028 Release Date
Nearly 20 years after its previous installment, Universal's The Mummy franchise is kicking it into high gear with its latest update. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the long-awaited Mummy 4 has just been slated for a 2028 release date, spelling out a major step forward for the dormant horror adventure series.
As per THR, Universal has finally locked in the series' original two stars, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, to return for the upcoming sequel. The film will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, collectively known as Radio Silence, whose previous films include V/H/S, Ready or Not and the most recent Scream films.
As the as-of-yet-untitled fourth Mummy movie gets underway, Universal has also confirmed the film's release date for May 19, 2028.
As fans of the original trilogy might recall, Fraser and Weisz first appeared in the franchise with 1999's The Mummy. Based on Universal's classic horror property of the same name, 1999's The Mummy followed a group of industrious adventurers and archaeologists excavating a cursed tomb in 1920s Egypt. After awakening a vengeful mummy in their explorations, the group races to reverse the curse and save the world from the creature's wrath.
A major commercial and critical success in 1999, The Mummy's popularity eventually paved the way for two sequels, 2001's The Mummy Returns and 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. While neither film managed to match the critical esteem of its predecessor, both managed to acquire a loyal fanbase, with a positive response geared toward Fraser's central performance in the franchise.
For the new sequel, Orphan: First Kill scribe David Coggeshall will provide the movie's screenplay, while The Mummy's original producer Sean Daniel returns for the new film. William Sherak, James Vanderbilt and Paul Neinstein will produce through their Project X Entertainment, with Fraser and Hivemind’s Jason F. Brown and Denis Stewart serving as executive producers.

On-screen romances often bring co-stars closer together, and sometimes blur the line between fiction and reality for fans. Yerin Ha opens up about the importance of separating fantasy from real life when it comes to how the audience sees her and her Bridgerton co-star Luke Thompson's private lives.
Bridgerton is no different in putting a spotlight on the relationship between its main characters every season, with Ha and Thompson's effortless pairing during the press tour leading fans to overanalyze their relationship. In an interview with The Nightly, Ha calls her co-star a "dear friend" after working together for 10 months, but admits they can't control every fan's perception of them.
"Luke is a dear, dear friend, I adore him as a friend," Ha said. "We worked together for a very intense period of time for nine, 10 months. But I can't control what people project onto us, but my friendship with him offscreen is different to what’s onscreen. It’s about being genuine, and my love for Luke as a friend is genuine."
The topic of conversation switched to use the stars of Heated Rivalry as an example of fans becoming fixated on Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams and unable to separate their on-screen characters from reality.
Ha believes that the fans are so "immersed" in what's on screen that they only see "that character rather than the person." The Bridgerton star goes on to say that social media also plays a role in being unable to "separate" one from the other, and "differentiate an actor from the character."

Since the release of Bridgerton Season 4 and the press tour, fans have put a magnifying glass on Ha and Thompson. Many believe the two are far more cozy than simple co-stars and have an innate desire for their on-screen romance to become real. While the two actors have never confirmed a relationship or anything beyond friendship, Ha warns that they also don't owe people an explanation.
"I'm not sure what there is to do except remind people in a gentle, polite way, that we are also humans and we don’t owe an explanation about what we do with our personal lives. Our private lives and our public-facing selves are very different," she said.
"It is an interesting time when people feel like they have the right to be able to say what they want about you, but I think we should be able to just give more grace to people."
The actor does admit that the fandom's reaction to Season 4 and their acceptance of her into the Bridgerton universe has been "exciting" and "fun."
365 Reasons Why I Love You—Ideas for a Sentimental Note to Share Every Day of the Year
Romantic gestures are important when dating or in marriage—they let the other person know you care. One way to share your feelings is by putting together a list of "365 reasons why I love you."
You can write a new reason each day and present it to your significant other the same day or gift a box or booklet of 365 reasons why you love him or her on a special occasion (like New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, your anniversary or his or her birthday). You can have them look through it either all at once or have them read only one reason each day of the year (talk about the gift that keeps on giving!).
My list is for the most special person in my life: my husband. My family and children are so fantastically wonderful, but I loved him first, I loved him longest and will continue to love him until the day after forever. So here are my 365 reasons why I love my husband.
Some of these are why there is still a spark after so long, and others are just the reason for the longevity. Feel free to use them for yourself. The greatest gift of writing these for my husband would be to inspire others to show their appreciation for their own partners and to better notice all of the little things that add up to mean really big things.

8. I can fart in front of you. Heck, you would probably take one for the team if I farted in public and could potentially embarrass myself.
9. Your dedication. You will still fix things around the house, even after a long day at work. I am not sure how many times I need things done around the house, or I spring a last-minute project on you like buying a microwave from Goodwill (without all of the hardware) because it was newer and shinier than the one we have, and I am not asking you to hang it right now (but if you insist on hanging it right now, that would be great) and it is now hung in my kitchen and looks wonderful. And now I can think of you whenever I am heating up dinner.
10. You never complain when I ruin dinner. I am not sure how many dinners I have ruined in 27 years (I am sure I could only count on one hand), but you have never pushed it away or complained about it.
11. You never complain when I forget to pack half of your lunch and you starve the rest of the day. There are many early mornings in those 27 years that I have (for most of those) made your lunch. And you never complain about being hungry all day, nor do you make me feel bad about it when I figure out, while cleaning out your lunch box at night, that I hadn’t put enough stuff in the box.
12. You just get another Chapstick out after finding yours has been laundered. There is always that chance you could still use it, but since you have never made it to the bottom of a Chapstick yet, why start now?

15. You implemented the “no killing Mom” rule when we play Call of Duty with the boys. (And you will stay in one spot to make it easier for me to shoot you!)

Original 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Star Reveals She Was Set to Return for Cancelled Live-Action
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans are outraged after learning that the shelved 2024 live-action movie, The Last Ronin, was meant to bring back an original cast member. Actor Judith Hoag revealed she was approached to return for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, based on the 2020 comic book miniseries.
While appearing at Big Lick Comic-Con in Roanoke, Virginia, Hoag gave fans some insight into where the now-cancelled live-action movie was headed.
"Yes, I've been approached, and I'd be happy. It would be a great bookend for me. And maybe that happens and maybe it doesn't. We'll see," she said, according to Collider.
Hoag played the role of local New York reporter April O'Neil in the original 1990 TMNT live-action movie that defined a generation of fans. Many were stunned when Hoag was absent from the sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and replaced by Paige Turco.

The Last Ronin would have been Hoag's return to the franchise after over 20 years since her original role. It was announced in 2024 to be in development, with Nobody's Ilya Naishuller in talks to direct, but the Paramount-Skydance merger led to the live-action being shelved. Reports claimed that Paramount decided to go with a more family-friendly film than the comic book mini-series.
News that Hoag was meant to return hasn't sat well with fans, with one fan commenting, "I've now lived long enough to see a Batman Beyond movie with Keaton cancelled and The Last Ronin with Hoag cancelled. Pain."
"Imagine the emotional damage of seeing Judith Hoag—the face of our childhood—walking through the ruins of NYC while her 'boys' are in graves. It would have been the most haunting performance in superhero history. Cancelling this is a literal crime against the fandom," said another.
Original TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird developed the storyline treatment for The Last Ronin back in 1987. It didn't become a full-fledged comic book series until 2020 and told a much darker story than the original franchise.
In the comics, Shredder's grandson is the new evil with his synthetic Foot Clan ninjas. The comic book also has Master Splinter, Casey Jones, and three of the Ninja Turtles dead, with it later revealed that Michelangelo is the last survivor. He teams up with April and her daughter to free the city and avenge his family.
Hoag also commented during the event on how "wonderful" the original storyline is, and that the person at Paramount who cancelled the movie doesn't know the fanbase. The actor suggested that "maybe you need to go to a comic con and spend some time with the fans."

Nicolas Cage Is ‘Spider-Noir’ Spider-Man in First Look at the Live-Action Series
Forget the multiverse. Nicolas Cage is officially bringing his unique brand of chaotic energy to a rain-slicked, Depression-era New York. And Prime Video / MGM+ just dropped the first official look at the live-action series Spider-Noir.
Don't expect a typical superhero romp. This isn't the 'friendly neighborhood Spider-Man' we’ve grown used to over the last decade. Between a major identity swap for the lead character and a release format that's unique in its own right, here is the lowdown on the show everyone will be talking about come Spring 2026.
The Lore Twist: Meet Ben ReillyThe biggest change isn't the fedora or the trench coat. While Cage voiced a version of Peter Parker in the animated Spider-Versemovies, this live-action series is pivoting. Cage is playing Ben Reilly.
In the original comics, Reilly is Peter Parker’s clone, but the show is reimagining him as an aging, jaded private investigator. This version of the character is down on his luck, struggling with his past, and navigating a city that’s just as broken as he is. Cage himself recently described the performance in an interview with Esquire as a mix of Humphrey Bogart’s grit and a dash of Bugs Bunny’s unpredictability. It’s a 'hard-boiled' detective drama first, and a superhero story second.
The 'Dual-Format' Release: How Will You Watch?A surpise part of this reveal involves the streaming format. The series will be released in two versions: "Authentic Black & White" and "True-Hue Full Color."
According to reports from Inverse, the black-and-white version is designed to mimic the grainy, high-contrast shadows of classic 1930s cinema. On the flip side, the 'True-Hue' version is inspired by a hyper-saturated, 'Technicolor' look.

Familiar Faces in New RolesThe newly released stills also gave us a look at the reimagining of some fan-favorite supporting characters. Lamorne Morris(New Girl) stars as a young, ambitious Robbie Robertson, a journalist trying to survive the cutthroat New York press circuit.
Perhaps most intriguing is Li Jun Li, who plays a 'femme fatale' lounge singer named Cat Hardy. Fans of the comics will recognize the name as a nod to Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), but in this universe, she’s a mystery with deep ties to the city’s underworld. With Brendan Gleeson also onboard as a philosophical mob boss, the series is leaning heavily into its noir roots.
Whether you prefer your heroes in monochrome or 'True-Hue' Technicolor, Spider-Noir is shaping up to be the most experimental Marvel project in years.
'Doctor Sleep' Filmmaker Mike Flanagan to Remake Stephen King's 'The Mist'
Nearly two decades after its first adaptation, Stephen King's harrowing 1980 novella The Mist is set to receive another remake from frequent King collaborator, Mike Flanagan.
The news comes via Deadline, who also reported that Flanagan will both direct the project and write the film's screenplay. He will also act as a producer alongside Tyler Thompson and Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Chris Stone, with Alexandra Magistro set to executive produce through Red Room.
As fans of both King's original story and its 2007 remake might remember, The Mist takes place in an ordinary New England town. After a mysterious mist filled with otherworldly creatures brushes over the community, the town's survivors do their best to defend themselves in an isolated supermarket. As the situation grows increasingly dire outside, the group also comes to find their fellow survivors might be every bit as dangerous as the monsters inhabiting the mist.
Initially published in 1980 as part of the Dark Forces anthology, The Mist was later republished in King's 1985 short story collection, Skeleton Crew. Since then, it has provided the basis for a critically well-received 2007 adaptation, as well as a short-lived TV series on Spike in 2017.
The Mist marks yet another venture between King and Flanagan, the latter of whom is best known for adapting several King novels and stories, including Gerald's Game, Doctor Sleep and The Life of Chuck. He's also currently developing a series adaptation of King's debut novel, Carrie, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video at some point in the near future.
In addition to his frequent adaptations of King's work, Flanagan has also produced several hit series for Netflix, including The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher. He's also garnered positive reviews for several of his mainstream movies, including 2013's Oculus and 2016's Hush.

Choosin' Style: Ella Langley Brings Her Signature Look to American Eagle
Ella Langley is having a major moment. As the country star celebrates the success of her hit single "Choosin' Texas" and the soon-to-be release of her new album Dandelion (April 10) ahead of a highly anticipated summer tour, she's adding another major milestone to her resume: serving as the new face of American Eagle in a magical campaign that highlights her authenticity and signature style.
Langley feels like a natural fit for the brand's latest denim campaign. In her interview with People about the new partnership, the country singer shared that she's always been a "T-shirt and jeans" kind of girl, and revealed that she's been a fan of American Eagle since she was young.
"I have these photos growing up wearing American Eagle shorts that my mom bedazzled herself. It was the first pair of denim I loved," Langley shared.
"American Eagle has always been about being yourself, and that’s something I really try to get across in my music. My style in day-to-day life is pretty laid-back, a little outdoorsy, and always about comfort, so working with a brand that celebrates that felt right," she continued.
View this post on InstagramThe new campaign opens with Langley sporting a pair of low-rise bootcut jeans as she reflects on her career. "When I started out playing gigs, I was 18. There wasn't a day or a time I don't remember where this wasn't the plan."
Set in a dreamy field of dandelions, Langley models American Eagle's classic blue jeans and a coordinating denim jacket stamped with "Denim Darling" across the back. The detail, she told People, is a sweet, full-circle nod to her childhood church nickname, "Ella Darling."
As her new song, "Dandelions," plays in the background, Langley shares, "Country music is storytelling, and then you do it with a little bit of twang."
"It's cool to be from such a small place and get to do such massive things," Langley says.
After sharing the campaign on Instagram, Langley was met with an outpouring of support as fans flooded the comments—not only eager to shop the new looks, but thrilled to see her as the brand's new face.
"🙌🙌🙌🙌 The hero all girls need!!!!" A comment read. "Ella… the epitome of a Denim Darling♥️👑♥️," another read. "AHHHHH THIS IS AMAZING!!! Denim Darling and Dandelions!!!! 🌼 💛🤍."
’80s Movie Star Wasn’t Invited to Her Breakout 1985 Film Premiere — Here’s Why
Rosanna Arquette revealed that she wasn’t invited to the Hollywood premiere of her breakout film 40 years ago. During a Feb. 10 appearance on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live, the actress explained the “weird” situation regarding the opening night for her 1985 movie Desperately Seeking Susan.
The Susan Seidelman-directed film starred Arquette as bored New Jersey housewife Roberta Glass, and Madonna as free-spirited drifter Susan. The film was released in April 1985, months after Madonna’s hit album Like a Virgin dropped, and it featured the soundtrack song “Into the Groove.” The movie also marked Madonna’s acting debut.
“While [Madonna] became so huge, they decided to make the movie around her. Which of course, made sense to make money, right?” Arquette, 66, told podcast host Andy Cohen. “But, they didn’t invite me to the Hollywood premiere of Desperately Seeking Susan.”
“I was here in New York doing this. Like, press. ...And so I was like ‘what?’” the actress recalled. “That was weird… It was very strange. But then you find out why that happened, the management …they made a thing about it because it ended up being [her movie]. But that’s okay, I won a British Academy [Film] Award.”
Madonna was 'the biggest thing in the world' at the timeArquette previously downplayed any drama between her and Madonna, telling The Daily Beast in 2021 that while she hadn’t spoken to the singer in years, she followed her on social media.
“I wish her well,” she said, adding that the release of the movie “coincided with the exploooosion, volcano, eruption of Madonna.”
“She suddenly was the biggest thing in the world, and then the movie came out,” Arquette said. “It happened to the point where they had a big premiere in L.A. for the movie, and they decided to have me do press in L.A. and not come to the premiere. …I didn’t understand the politics of how things are and thought, ‘Well, this is s---ty.” But it was all marketing. They thought they could make more money if they focused on Madonna at the time.”
Arquette would love to see a 'Desperately Seeking Susan' sequelArquette has expressed interest in filming a Desperately Seeking Susan sequel. In 2024, she was a guest on the Girls on Film podcast, where she admitted she had long wondered what became of Roberta, Susan, and Roberta’s lover, Dez (Aidan Quinn).
“I always had a fantasy about what happened to them?” Arquette said of the movie’s characters. “Who are they now? It would be so great to make that movie. And see where everybody ends up. Do Dez and her stay together? What happens to them?”
New 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Books, Restaurants and a Whole Lot More Are Coming
Millennials and beyond, unite! Those crime-fighting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles aren't going anywhere.
In fact, expansion is very much in the cards for Paramount's beloved franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with plans to bring the IP that spawned from comic books to cinemas, digital, book stores and more. Remember how the wise-cracking heroes love pizza? At least three themed restaurants are in the works as well.
The deal will start in 2027, Deadline reports, leading up to the release of animated feature sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. A new, untitled live-action/CG animation hybrid is due to follow in 2028.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is full of action, humor and heart, and showcases relationships that have resonated with generations of fans worldwide,” said Josh Silverman, Paramount’s president of global products & experiences, in a statement, per THR. “Continuing the Turtles’ adventures through products and experiences enables consumers to embark on their own journey. Whether it’s watching a movie, wearing a costume, playing with action figures or reading a book, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has made an impact not only on people’s lives but on pop culture in ways that few franchises can claim."
View this post on InstagramLaunching this year on YouTube for the younger demographic is Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles, a 30-episode CG-animated series exploring the early days of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo as ninjas-in-training, THR also noted on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
And let's not forget the literary realm. In June, a full novelization of the bestselling TMNT graphic novel The Last Ronin will be released from publisher Abrams and writer Erik Burnham, Variety reports. Targeted for adult fans, it's centered on a lone surviving Turtle who returns to New York City with a mission to avenge his family by killing the leader of the Foot Clan, Oroku Hiroto.
Then there's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splinter’s Dojo, a middle-grade illustrated novel releasing from Scholastic in September, Variety also noted on Tuesday. Per the description for the new book, “Splinter’s Dojo takes the turtles to class at the most radical middle school around.”
‘Abbott Elementary’ Fans React to Extended February Break: 'Quinta, Why?'
It’s going to be a long month for fans of the ABC hit comedy Abbott Elementary. Quinta Brunson’shilarious workplace comedy follows a dedicated group of teachers and staff as they navigate life in a Philadelphia public school. Following last week’s “Candygrams” episode, which aired on February 4, 2026, the network won’t air another new episode of Abbott Elementary until March 4. That’s not sitting well with fans of the beloved comedy.
The clever folks running Abbott’s social media accounts released the “school’s” February calendar, noting there would be no more new episodes this month. Despite an extended winter break at the end of 2025, Abbott Elementary will once again take an extended break until March.
View this post on Instagram Why Abbott Elementary Is Not Airing New Episodes in FebruaryAbbott Elementary is taking the remainder of February off from new episodes to avoid competing with NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage. Networks often adjust their schedules, pausing new episodes in competing timeslots during major events to avoid low viewership for scripted shows.

Sprite Fans Score New Collectible Cans Thanks to NBA Collab
Sprite is giving consumers a reason to check the can—especially if they're loyal basketball fans.
After bringing back its beloved winter flavors for the season (Winter Spiced Cranberry and Vanilla Frost), Sprite is ready to move on to another limited-time offer—one that offers something more tangible for fans to collect and show off all season long.
On Wednesday, the Coca-Cola soft drink brand unveiled a series of limited-edition cans co-branded with select NBA teams and Unrivaled players, building on the company's ongoing partnership with the sport and its athletes.
Sprite Cans Receive Limited-Edition NBA, Unrivaled MakeoverSprite's iconic "Obey Your Thirst" campaign debuted in 1994 and, over the past three decades, has amplified its bold call to action by partnering with inspiring athletes who have helped shape the game on and off the court, such as Anthony Edwards in 2024 and LeBron James a decade prior.
Now, Sprite is going a step further, re-designing all of its original soda cans for a limited time this NBA season.

This collection features limited-time designs for 17 select NBA teams from across the league, as well as eight Unrivaled players, according to an official statement shared with Parade. The brand suggests each can is "more than a collectible" but a "visual homage" to its city that captures the "energy, attitude, and pride" that define local basketball culture.
Not only that, but fans who scan the code on their can will gain access to the Sprite Squad digital portal, where they can find exclusive merch, game-day tickets, and other prize perks.
Some cans will be more exclusive than others, making collecting them all a competitive sport in itself.
From what Parade understands, Sprite fans across the country should have no issue finding the special cans branded with one of 17 NBA teams in this campaign—it's the Unrivaled players' cans that may cause a little bit of a commotion.
Heading out now are Sprite cans featuring the logos and colors of popular NBA teams including the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, and Washington Wizards.
As for the Unrivaled cans, two designs are heading to select markets, each featuring action shots of four players. The first can features Lexie Hull, Brittney Sykes, Napheesa Collier and Skylar Diggins. The second can stars Kate Martin, Dearica Hamby, Rhyne Howard, and Breanna Stewart.
Both the NBA and Unrivaled x Sprite cans are available now through the end of March (only six weeks).
All of the NBA cans will be available for purchase at select retailers in their respective local markets. Those Unrivaled cans, however, will only be available at participating retailers in the Northeast, Las Vegas and Florida markets (prices may vary).
