Universal Studios Hollywood Unveils Sneak Peak at First-Ever High-Speed Coaster
Get ready, Fast and Furious fans. Universal Hollywood is opening its first-ever high-speed coaster this summer, and the theme park just dropped a detailed, closer look at the new attraction.
Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift is a brand-new high-speed outdoor roller coaster coming to Universal Studios Hollywood in Summer 2026. This marks a huge milestone for the park, as it’s their first coaster of this type ever, themed to one of Universal’s biggest blockbuster franchises.
In the pulse-pounding 30-second television spot narrated by Vin Diesel, longtime Fast and Furious star, producer, and Universal Parks collaborator, thrill seekers get a sneak peak at the Launch moments and big curves this incredibly advanced coaster will bring to the park. Designed to immerse guests directly into the Fast and Furious cinematic universe, Hollywood Drift promises to deliver the sensation of street racing—no driver’s license required.
Located on the Upper Lot, the attraction will be housed inside a striking red brick, garage-inspired structure. The innovative coaster will feature groundbreaking 360-degree rotation technology, allowing ride vehicles to spin as they move and creating the feeling of drifting cars tearing through sharp turns at incredible speeds. Guests will race along 4,100 feet of aerial track (the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields) at speeds of up to 72 miles per hour.
Adding to the spectacle, the track will wind its way above parts of the park itself, including a dramatic pass over the multi-level Starway escalator that connects Universal’s Upper and Lower Lots, making it just as thrilling to watch as it is to ride.
Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift launches as Universal Pictures celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Fast and Furious franchise, which began in 2001 and evolved into one of the most successful action series of all time. The coaster’s debut also helps kick off the countdown to the franchise’s final theatrical chapter, Fast Forever, slated for release on March 17, 2028.

‘80s Rocker Says Band Should ‘Finish Out Their Final Years’ With Original Frontman Amid Singer Search
Skid Row has launched a search for a new lead singer, but fans—and a fellow rock frontman—think the perfect candidate is right under their nose.
In a Feb. 5 post shared to Facebook, Stryper singer Michael Sweet expressed hope that Skid Row would reunite with former frontman Sebastian Bach in lieu of undergoing an extensive search for a new singer.
“Would be great to see this band finish out their final years with the original singer. Sebastian Bach,” Sweet, 62, captioned a photo of Skid Row’s classic lineup. “You do what you have to do and no one knows the reasons why but I can say this - I recently hung out with Sebastian and bowled with him out in LA. He was an absolute gentleman. Engaging and respectful. We even went to the Rainbow Bar and Grill and hung out there as well after we bowled.”
“We all know that Sebastian is the voice of Skid Row. He’s a powerful personality and a one-of-a-kind singer,” Sweet added. “It would be great to see them iron out their differences and give the fans what they want. I would certainly be there cheering them on.”
Sweet added that no matter what happens, he wishes the band “much success and happiness.” “They are a great band and respect them dearly,” he wrote.
A new chapterSweet’s post came just after Skid Row announced they had partnered with online music retailer Sweetwater to launch a worldwide search for a new vocalist under the teaser "Skid Row: The Next Chapter."
Skid Row was formed in 1986 by guitarist Dave Sabo and bassist Rachel Bolan. Guitarist Scotti Hill and drummer Rob Affuso were added to the lineup, while Bach was recruited to replace short-lived singer Matt Fallon the following year. Bach was the voice behind the band’s classic lineup and all of their biggest hits, including “18 and Life,” “I Remember You,” and “Youth Gone Wild.”
Bach, 57, was fired from Skid Row in 1996. In the years since, the band has been fronted by Johnny Solinger,Tony Harnell, ZP Theart, and Erik Gronwall. Halestorm leader Lzzy Hale sang with the band for shows in 2024, per Ultimate Classic Rock.
Bach has long expressed an interest in reuniting with Skid Row. In an interview with The Metal Voice in January, he said, "What is our problem? Like, what the heck’s wrong with us? Like, it’s just silly.”
“I mean, but I’m not waiting around either at the same time. I got my own band, I got my own albums, and I play tons of shows,” the singer added. “I’m extremely busy.”
RELATED: ‘80s Glam Rocker Was Told He’d Never Sing Again
Never happeningOver the years, the Skid Row bandmates have been adamant that a reunion with Bach will never take place.
“It’s not gonna happen,” Sabo told the Hook Rocks podcast in an interview in October 2024. “I’m thankful that people have such an interest in wanting to see that happen, but I also have to reiterate that this is about being happy in the situation that you’re in. … There’s three of us — myself, Scotti [Hill], and Rachel — who’ve had conversations about this, and we’ve all been on the same page that we don’t wanna go down that road again. We just — we don’t.”
Fans think Bach is the only singer for Skid RowAmid the Skid Row singer search, many fans agree with Sweet that Bach is the man for the job.
“We the Fans Deserve the Best Version of Skid Row. That includes Sebastian Bach. I’m certain there’s a Middle Ground when it comes to their Differences. Make it happen, fellows,” one fan wrote on Facebook.
“If Van Halen could put up with Dave for two tours post-ugly breakup, Skid Row could put up with Baz. Man up, Rachel and Snake,” another agreed.
In a Reddit thread, a fan wrote of the singer search, “Actually know a guy who would be perfect, and he happens to have been asking about it for a while too.”
“This whole thing is just depressing to me,” another wrote. “I watched them flounder without Bas. I hated it…I get that they don’t get along with Bas. But was it really all him? And, if he’s willing to come back hat-in-hand, can you really not let bygones be bygones?” another asked.
“This is embarrassing. Reunite with Bach. Have management handle communication with him. Just see him at rehearsals and gigs and make some money,” another Skid Row fan suggested.
The Only Time the Entire 'Brady Bunch' Reunited After the Series
Forty years ago today—Friday, February 6, 1981—the entire cast of The Brady Bunch quietly came together for one last full-family reunion. It was a moment that would prove to be both an ending and a beginning for television’s most famous blended clan.
That reunion arrived in the form of The Brady Girls Get Married, a made-for-TV project that aired over three Friday nights in 1981. While it’s often remembered as a curiosity in the sprawling Brady canon, the special holds a unique distinction: it remains the only time all nine original cast members appeared together in a single project after the original series ended in 1974.
RELATED: ‘Brady Bunch’ Fans Are Crying Inside the Home Now Seeking Landmark Status
The project was conceived as a two-hour NBC television movie centered on the double wedding of eldest daughters Marcia (Maureen McCormick) and Jan (Eve Plumb). But as the Associated Press reported at the time, the network’s plans shifted repeatedly and dramatically. NBC executive Fred Silverman ultimately decided not to air the film as a single movie at all, instead dividing it into weekly half-hour installments. What began as a standalone event suddenly became a three-week television experiment—and, by the fourth week, a backdoor pilot.
That pilot became The Brady Brides, a short-lived spin-off focused on the newly married couples played by McCormick, Plumb, Jerry Houser and Ron Kuhlman. Ann B. Davis returned as housekeeper Alice, while Florence Henderson appeared prominently during the wedding episodes before transitioning to occasional guest appearances.
RELATED: ‘Brady Bunch’ Kids Reveal ‘Insidiously Difficult’ Truth Behind That Classic Opening
Behind the scenes, however, the reunion was far less celebratory than it appeared onscreen. In his memoir "Growing Up Brady,"Barry Williams recalled that many of the former child actors initially resisted returning to Bradyland at all. By the early 1980s, the wholesome image that once made the show a hit had become a professional burden.
“All of us kids had spent years trying to move forward in our careers and live down the whole ‘Brady Bunch’ stigma,” Williams wrote, describing a moment when being a Brady was “no longer considered cool — it had now become downright embarrassing.”
Still, financial realities and studio pressure won out. “When Paramount chose to get ‘persuasive’ ($$$), every one of us caved and re-enlisted,” Williams admitted. The result was a reunion that, in hindsight, stands as a closing chapter for the original cast.

Williams noted that several other Brady revivals were incomplete: Plumb skipped The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, Susan Olsen missed A Very Brady Christmas, and McCormick would later exit The Bradys. The Brady Girls Get Married marked the only time all nine returned together—including Robert Reed, who reportedly insisted during contract negotiations that “nobody is going to give my Brady girls away but me.”
The special aired over three consecutive Friday nights, performed strongly in early ratings, and quickly evolved into a weekly series. But The Brady Brides would last just 13 episodes before cancellation, another brief rise and fall in the Brady family saga.
Four decades later, The Brady Girls Get Married stands as the final moment of unity for one of television’s most enduring casts.
What to Do in Milan During the Winter Olympics, According to the Host of PBS’ Dream of Italy
For many Olympic travelers, Milan will be home base—and PBS Dream of Italy hostKathy McCabe believes that’s exactly how the city should be experienced.
“Milan is Italy’s capital of fashion, design and business, but it also offers a delightful array of neighborhoods and culinary traditions,” she says. “Beyond the runways and showrooms, Milan is defined by aperitivo and cafe culture and a strong sense of everyday Italian city life that rewards travelers who linger.”
Rather than treating the city as a place to sleep between events, she encourages visitors to slow down and take part in the daily rituals. “This is a city where daily habits matter just as much as landmarks,” McCabe says.

McCabe will be staying at Casa Brivio, located in Porta Venezia, a neighborhood she consistently recommends for Olympic visitors. “It feels more like a refined Milanese apartment house than a traditional hotel,” she says. “Porta Venezia is ideal because it is well connected by metro, close to cafés, wine bars and shopping, and less hectic than the historic center.”
She also highlights NEMI Hotel Milan, one of the city’s newest design-driven openings. Set in a quiet residential area, the hotel offers “larger-than-average rooms” along with “strong soundproofing,” which McCabe notes can be especially valuable during a busy travel period like the Olympics. She also points to its restaurant, Forte, which “highlights fresh seafood,” and notes that the hotel is offering a special Olympic “Stay in the Game” package.
For travelers looking for a more traditional luxury experience, McCabe points to The Carlton Milan, which has just opened and marks the arrival of Rocco Forte Hotels in the city. Located in a grand historic building near the fashion district, the hotel brings “classic Italian elegance and contemporary comfort,” along with a full-service spa and refined dining. Travelers attending the Opening Ceremony at San Siro may also want to consider Milan Suite Hotel, which offers “large, modern rooms,” some with garden patios and convenient access to the stadium.

“Milan was recently named the #2 food city in the world according to Taste Atlas,” McCabe says—but she is quick to clarify one important point. “It’s important to note that Milan is not a pasta city. It is the home of risotto.” The surrounding Po Valley produces much of Italy’s rice, which is why risotto alla Milanese has become the city’s defining dish. “Risotto alla Milanese is the city’s defining dish,” she says. “Made with saffron, it is traditionally served with ossobuco and best enjoyed slowly in a classic trattoria setting.”
For a nostalgic take, McCabe recommends Risoelatte. “The 1950s-style restaurant feels like dining in a retro Milanese home,” she says, noting that its risotto alla Milanese is a standout. For a more contemporary interpretation, she points to Ratanà, set in a former railway warehouse in the Isola Porta Nuova area, which serves one of the city’s most celebrated versions of the dish.

Aperitivo, Cafés, and Everyday Milan Milan, Italy - Circa April 2018: Campari bar (aka Camparino) in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II	claudiodivizia for Getty
Aperitivo is essential to understanding the city. “This is a city where daily habits matter just as much as landmarks,” McCabe says, emphasizing that Campari-based drinks are deeply rooted in Milanese culture. “The Negroni Sbagliato was invented here,” she says, pointing visitors toward Bar Basso, a longtime local favorite.
For a more polished setting, she recommends Camparino in Galleria, located inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. As Campari’s historic bar, it pairs carefully crafted cocktails with elegant interiors and feels like a quintessential Milan moment. For coffee and pastries, Pasticceria Cova, founded in 1817, offers a glimpse of the city’s old-guard café culture. McCabe recommends ordering an espresso and a traditional pastry to experience Milan at its most refined. For something more modern, Pavé is a favorite for breakfast or a mid-morning break. It’s known for beautifully made pastries and a relaxed, neighborhood feel. “This is the kind of place where you linger rather than rush,” she says.
She also recommends Bar Luce, located inside Fondazione Prada. Designed by Wes Anderson, the café is a destination in itself, and the contemporary art museum is “well worth a visit.”

Shopping and Neighborhoods That Feel Like Milan Milan, Lombardy, Italy - 04 29 2024: The boat tour on the Navigli of Milan, ancient canals used in the past to transport goods, are very popular among tourists visiting the city.	Simona Sirio for Getty
When travelers ask where to experience Milan’s shopping scene, McCabe always points them toward neighborhoods rather than landmarks. “Rather than hopping from landmark to landmark, I always recommend choosing a neighborhood, settling in, and letting the city unfold,” she says. Porta Venezia is one of her favorites, noting that it feels lived-in and offers some of the city’s best vintage shopping. Bivio Milan is a standout for pre-owned fashion.
Navigli is another must-visit, especially for travelers interested in vintage shopping and aperitivo culture. The canal area is lined with small boutiques, secondhand fashion shops and casual spots for a drink, and it’s where Milan’s creative energy comes through most clearly. McCabe also recommends La Double J, founded by American designer JJ Martin, as a must-visit for colorful contemporary women’s fashion and homewares.

One Experience Not to Skip Spritz aperol drink in Milan overlooking Piazza Duomo	BrasilNut1 for Getty
“In Milan, the one experience I always tell people not to skip is going up onto the Duomo di Milano terraces,” McCabe says. “Seeing the Duomo from the piazza is impressive, but being on the roof is something else entirely.” From the terraces, “you’re walking among the spires and statues, looking out over historic rooftops and modern towers at the same time.” For McCabe, it’s the experience that best captures the city. “It gives you a real sense of Milan as a city that honors its past while constantly evolving.”

Amy Slaton has been extra crafty lately. And 1000-Lb Sisters fans want a piece of it!
But the 38-year-old mother of two dropped some big news on Instagram regarding her artwork.
"Right now my business is closed."
Slaton opened up about her plans to sell her art in a "Frequently Asked Questions" Instagram video on Jan. 5, 2026.
"I’ve gotten an overwhelming response with people wanting to buy my art," Slaton says in the post. "I’m truly grateful. Right now I’m selling any artwork because I’m working on stock. I’m working on a website so y’all can purchase it from there."
The TLC star's artwork has been showcased throughout Season 8 of 1000-Lb Sisters. She has been making the centerpieces for her wedding to Brian Lovvorn and even gifted a custom canvas print to family friend Billy the Minister in Season 8, Episode 5.
According to Slaton's post, fans should stay tuned to her Facebook page for updates on the website. She'll announce when it's live and her art is ready to shop there, but the post will likely be shared to her Instagram, too.
"You go girl!" one excited fan commented on the post. "Can’t wait to see the website!"
Others were more excited about other more subtle news in Slaton's post — her eye surgery. While Slaton hasn't publicly addressed any surgery surrounding her eye, fans first noticed the difference in her November 2025 wedding photos.
"Omg eye reveal," one fan wrote in the comments of Slaton's art announcement.
"Amy your eye!" another chimed in. "I'm so happy you were able to get that surgery."
"You look great Amy!" said a Facebook user. "Glad to hear the art is helping you. I really related to the newest episode when you talk about not being able to drive. I feel like people look down on people who can't drive too much and it sucks."
Another Instagram user had a more personal connection and questions for the reality TV star.
"Amy omg....you were beautiful then and you are beautiful now!" they started. "My daughter is going to have the same surgery you had on your eyes. Any tips? Was it painful? How was recovery? I am so happy for you!"
Slaton did respond to a few comments on Instagram and Facebook, but said nothing regarding her weight loss or eye surgery.

Although the Winter Olympics are less popular than the Summer Games—with just 16 sports featured—NBC Universal and its various platforms are pulling out all stops to get fans to tune in.
Italian opening ceremony creative director Marco Balich has hinted there will be plenty of heart-warming moments in the snow. Balich said his team is aiming for a “very essential human-driven” ceremony with “no technological thrills.”
Christophe Dubi, the Olympic Games executive director, said, “We’re gonna celebrate the athletes the way they have done in Paris. And that is what will make for a true Olympic experience back to the roots.”
While some lucky sports fans will experience the Olympics opener in person, most of us will be viewing from the comfort of home! Read on to find out more about how to watch the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

If you’ve ever wanted to take home one of those fluffy white comforters from a hotel, Amazon is making it surprisingly doable right now. The Serta Goose Feather Down Comforter is available in three sizes: twin, full/queen, and king, and three warmth options, including all season, extra warmth, and light warmth. The best deal is the full/queen all-season version, which is marked down to $64 (originally $153), making it 58% off.
The comforter is filled with a blend of goose feathers and down and wrapped in a soft, breathable, hypoallergenic cotton cover. It’s considered a medium-weight comforter, making it suitable for year-round use. The fill is evenly distributed, so it drapes smoothly across the bed without any clumping.
Serta Goose Feather Down Comforter, From $64 (was $153) at AmazonIf you’re concerned about overheating, the all-season comforter has enough weight to feel cozy and substantial, but it doesn’t trap warmth — unless you want it to, of course. That’s also why it’s offered in multiple warmth options, so you can choose the version that works best for your sleep style, whether you tend to run warm or want something more insulating.
Several reviewers compared the feel to “sleeping in a cloud,” with one person calling it a “giant, fluffy marshmallow.” Another said it's“absolutely amazing and feels truly hotel-quality,” also describing it as “soft, breathable, and gentle on the skin.”
Beyond its cloud-like comfort, this is an easy piece to work into almost any bedroom. The clean white look pairs well with patterned sheets, neutral bedding, or a duvet cover, and the medium weight allows it to be used on its own or layered, depending on the season. It works just as well for everyday use as it does in a guest room.

Philadelphia’s 2026 Fourth of July Celebration Will Be the Largest in the Country—with Six Nights of Fireworks
If there were ever a year for Philadelphia to go all out for the Fourth of July, 2026 is it. As the birthplace of American independence gears up for the nation’s 250th birthday, the city’s annual Wawa Welcome Americacelebration is scaling up in a big way—including more days, more events and the biggest fireworks lineup the festival has ever seen.
Produced by Welcome America, the 2026 Wawa Welcome America festival will stretch across 16 days, transforming late June and early July into a citywide celebration. The headline-grabber: six nights of fireworks, the most ever presented as part of the festival and a fitting nod to the America250 milestone.
Fireworks won’t be limited to just July 4. Instead, they’ll be spread across multiple nights tied to major festival events, including celebrations of Black Music Month, Kidchella, waterfront concerts and, of course, the grand finale on Independence Day along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. For locals and visitors alike, that means more chances to catch fireworks without having to pack everything into one night.

Another major addition for 2026 is the Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Parade, set for July 3. The parade will feature representation from all 50 states and U.S. territories and follow an expanded route through some of the most historic streets in the country. Marching bands, floats, cultural groups, military units and Miss America state and territory titleholders will all take part—turning the city itself into the parade route where independence was first declared.

Fan-favorite events are also returning, including Wawa Hoagie Day, Gospel on Independence, Free Museum Days, Pops on Independence and the long-running July 4 concert and fireworks show. Longstanding cultural celebrations like the Juneteenth Block Party and Concilio’s Annual Hispanic Fiesta will once again spotlight Philadelphia’s diverse communities as part of the broader festival.
July 4 itself will begin, as it always does, with the Celebration of Freedom ceremony outside Independence Hall, followed by a full day of events leading into the nighttime concert and fireworks on the Parkway.
With six nights of fireworks, a massive multi-state parade, and more than two weeks of programming, Philadelphia isn’t just marking Independence Day in 2026—it’s hosting what’s shaping up to be the largest America250 Fourth of July celebration in the country.

The Globally Curated Wine Box That Will Take Galentine's Day to the Next Level
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Galentine's Day is proof that not every February celebration needs roses, reservations or a romantic subplot. It's the perfect excuse to get your favorite people together—no pressure, no expectations, and definitely no awkward prix-fixe menus. (Who wants to be told what to eat?) The whole point is celebrating friendship in its purest form, which is way more fun than stressing over whether a date remembered to make a plan.
All you really need for a great Galentine's is a solid group chat, a table full of chocolate, and time to actually sit around and catch up. Add in good wine (especially if you're proudly sisters of the grape), and suddenly you've got a night that's effortless and special all at the same time. It can be as low-key as sweatpants and takeout or as festive as a themed spread and matching glasses—either way, it counts.
Best-Selling Mixed Six Gift Set, $99.99 (originally $127.94) at LaithwaitesLaithwaites
Fortunately, Laithwaites has you covered in the wine department with its Best-Selling Mixed Six Gift Set. It includes three reds and three whites, so there's a little something for everyone. And to sweeten the deal, the gift set is on sale for $99.99 (originally $127.94).
The set features one of each of the following:
- Palacio del Conde Gran Selección 2020, a Spanish red wine
- Pillastro Primitivo 2023, an Italian red wine
- Château Le Coin Sauvignon Gris 2024, a French white wine
- Ca-Bear-Nay Cabernet Sauvignon 2024, a California red wine
- Visionario 2024, an Italian white wine
- Queen Bee Viognier 2025, a South African white wine
Having personally sampled each of these wines myself, I'm particularly smitten with the Ca-Bear-Nay, and not just because of the super cute name. It's smooth, full-bodied and will have you from the first sip. I'm also partial to the Viognier because it's perfectly balanced and drinkable with light bites. But, really, there isn't a bad bottle in this bunch. They're all winners.
If you're looking for some fun, kitschy Galentine's gifts, there's a Wedges of Love Cheese Bouquet that has your foodie friend's name written all over it (or a Pickle Bouquet if that's more their style). Or you could go with something a little craftier, using a simple but gorgeous jar as your base, filling it with candy or travel-size beauty products for your bestie.

Halle Berry Clarifies Her Engagement Status Amid Rumors She Turned Down Van Hunt's Proposal
Halle Berry is clearing up rumors about her engagement to longtime boyfriendVan Hunt—and it turns out that congratulations are in order!
The couple, who have been together for over five years, were initially reported to have gotten engaged in 2025. But since then, rumors have swirled that Berry didn't actually say yes when Hunt popped the question and the couple have given conflicting statements about the situation.
Back in June 2025, Hunt revealed that he had, in fact, proposed but things were "on hold" as he waited for Berry's official answer.
"I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see," he shared during a joint interview with Berry for Today with Jenna & Friends. "It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her."
Then, in an interview with The Cut published this past Monday (Feb. 2), Berry shared that she still had yet to accept Hunt's proposal.
“I haven’t said ‘yes,’” Berry shared with the outlet. “I don’t think we need to be married to have a meaningful relationship. I don’t know if we will ever get married.”
But now, Berry is finally putting the rumors to rest. During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday (Feb. 5), Berry shared that she had indeed said yes to the engagement—she just hadn't said yes to a wedding yet.
"There's some confusion that's going around my guy Van Hunt —I've been dating him now for almost six years," Berry said. "There's some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no. But that's not the case!"
She continued, "I did not say no! We just don't have a date. But of course I said I would marry him! He did put a little ring on it!"
Berry and Hunt have been linked since 2020 after being introduced by Hunt's brother. While it's unclear when they'll walk down the aisle, we're sending congratulations to the happy couple!
You can hear all that Halle Berry had to say about her engagement below.

Jennifer Garner Almost Bit off Stunt Man’s Ear While Filming 2007 Movie: 'Like Mike Tyson'
Jennifer Garnerhas been no stranger to fight scenes throughout her career—but she admits that filming got a little too real while on the set of one of her movies in the early 2000s.
The actress, 53, opened up about the intense moment during an Apple TV press day on Wednesday (Feb. 4). Looking back on the experience, Garner explained that she accidentally injured a stunt person while working on her film The Kingdom nearly two decades ago.
It all went down while she was in the midst of a fight scene with actor Sala Baker and admits that the accident happened because she wasn't told to follow any specific choreography.
"Pete Berg, who was the director, told him to try to kill me. We did not have a lot of choreography, and he told me to do anything I could to survive," Garner explained, per The Hollywood Reporter.
She continued, "He did, and I did, and I ended up scrambling onto his back. I bit his ear, and we have a picture of him missing a chunk of ear, because we were not kidding."
When asked to clarify that she had actually bitten off a part of Baker's ear, Garner replied, "Like Mike Tyson," before jokingly adding, "Don’t make me mad. I seem nice. I've warned you before."
Thankfully Baker was okay and the pair had the chance to reunite on the set of Garner's upcoming series, The Last Thing He Told Me. Reflecting on the reunion, Garner said they didn't hold back during fight scenes.
"We went for it in a way that the crew—this was maybe our first or second day of shooting—were like, ‘Can you be careful with her?’ I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, he’s not going to be careful. I’m not going to be careful. Just back out of the way. I have a score to settle here,'" Garner joked.
The actress also noted that there's quite a few fight scenes in the show so she got to work with Baker all season long.
You can watch the trailer for The Last Thing He Told Me below.
'The Pitt': What Is Sepsis?
It's official: It's worse than MRSA.
A patient on The Pitt appears to be minutes away from a formal necrotizing fasciitis diagnosis after what appeared to be a simple case of cellulitis quickly turned into a severe case of sepsis (though we're still waiting on an assessment from surgery to confirm).
In just a matter of hours, Debbie Cohen went from a small patch of red on the top of her foot being treated with an oral antibiotic to her entire leg being covered in a deeply concerning rash, which spiraled into respiratory failure and a "Code Sepsis."
But how did the waitress, who walked out of the ER with a prescription for oral antibiotics around 7 a.m., end up intubated before noon?
What Does it Mean to Call Code Sepsis? As Dr. Robby starts organizing Debbie's treatment, he tells another doctor that she is "Code Sepsis," though his declaration was a lot more casual than you might find in a working ER.
Typically, a provider will call Code Sepsis "to facilitate early recognition and treatment of the condition," according to the Cleveland Clinc. As soon as someone takes note of an indicative change in the patient, a rapid response team is called in to manage the patient and establish their care plan.
What Is Sepsis?Sepsis is a severe systemic reaction that occurs when a person's body overreacts to an infection, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It causes inflammation throughout the body that can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and even death, because the immune system, for some reason, stops focusing on the infection and turns against the body.
Symptoms of sepsis can vary, as it may affect different parts of the body on different people.
Sepsis resulting from an infection in the blood can cause rashes on the skin, for example. Other possible symptoms include reduced urination, weakness, rapid heart rate, fever, chills, altered mental status, and more.
(L-R) Noah Wyle as Robby and Patrick Ball as Langdon in 'The Pitt'Warrick Page/HBO Max
What Is Severe Sepsis? Not every provider uses a scale to rate the severity of sepsis, but some may categorize it into three stages: sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock. Others may consider severe sepsis and septic shock to be the same thing.
When Dr. Robby brought up the level of Debbie's case, he first classified it as severe, which means it was beginning to affect her organ function. This happens because of low blood pressure, which affects how much blood—and therefore, how much oxygen and other life-sustaining nutrients—are reaching the organs. To try to combat this, Debbie was given two liters of fluids and several strong antibiotics, but Dr. Robby later reclassified it as septic shock.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, this type of shock is defined by "extremely low blood pressure, despite lots of...fluids." At this point, they've also added pressors to her regimen—a type of medication to help raise the blood pressure.
How Long Does it Take for Sepsis to Develop?Sepsis can develop in as quickly as a few hours from the onset of infection, or it can take several days. According to the Physician-Patient Alliance for Health & Safety, sepsis can kill a person in as little as 12 hours.
Clearly, Debbie's case is aggressive and moving fast. We wouldn't be surprised if the poor woman is missing her leg by the time they're able to remove her breathing tube.
