‘When Calls the Heart’ Star Erin Krakow Is Pregnant and Glowing on the Red Carpet

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:58am

Erin Krakow's due date is quickly approaching, and the When Calls The Heart star is absolutely glowing.

Krakow, 41, who rose to fame on the Lifetime series Army Wives and gained a tremendous following for her popular role as Elizabeth Thatcher on the Hallmark series When Calls the Heart, hit the red carpet alongside her husband, Ben Rosenbaum, to attend "When Calls the Heart & Hope Valley: 1874 Celebration" at The Sun Rose Hotel in West Hollywood. Wearing a form-fitting purple dress that showed off her growing belly, Krakow was glowing. With her brown hair done in tight curls, the soon-to-be mama smiled brightly alongside her husband and castmates. Check out some stunning photos of the beauty below.

When Did Erin Krakow Announce Her Pregnancy?

Back in November, Krakow took to Instagram to share a touching series of photos announcing that she and her husband, Ben Rosenbaum, are expecting a baby.

“So much to be grateful for!!! 🥰,” Krakow captioned the photo, which showed the duo in a photo booth holding up their sonogram.

Krakow and Rosenbaum first went public with their relationship in February 2024, according to PEOPLE. They revealed the big news of their nuptials on Instagram last summer, accompanied by stunning wedding photos. While Krakow is one to stay mum on her personal life, she did tell PEOPLE in the past that there’s a special air of romance on the set of When Calls the Heart.

“I do think there’s just something special about the show and the people involved,” she previously shared. “When you put a bunch of special people together in one place, connections are bound to be made.”

Last year, Krakow got a little help from guest stars Brooke Shields and Little House on the Prairie icon Melissa Gilbert when she announced the news of When Calls the Heart‘s 13th season premiere.

“Guess who’s coming back to Hope Valley?” Gilbertsays in the adorable video. Shields chimes in with “It’s me! I’m so excited to be returning to When Calls the Heart.”

The all-new season premiered on January 4, but it also plays on Hallmark Plus.

Royal Caribbean Announces Fan-Favorite Ship Is Heading to Singapore

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:57am

If you’ve noticed your travel feed filling up with the golden domes of Kuala Lumpur or the neon skyline of Singapore, it isn't just a trend—it’s a reflection of a world that is suddenly much closer. For years, a trip to this part of the globe felt like a massive logistical hurdle, usually requiring a three-week sabbatical just to scratch the surface.

However, a perfect storm of new flight routes, business-class points redemption deals and favorable exchange rates—with the U.S. dollar hitting historic strengths against the Yen and Vietnamese Dong—has made the region more attainable than ever. In fact, according to recent 2026 travel intent data from Mabrian, nearly 32% of all international travel demand is now focused squarely on East and Southeast Asia, as travelers look to swap traditional "fly-over" routes for deep cultural immersion.

With the Disney Adventurerecently beginning its Singapore homeporting and Holland America Line introducing new 8-day introductory sailings, the industry is making it easier than ever to dive into these world-class destinations without needing a month-long sabbatical.

Royal Caribbean is the latest to lean into this momentum, announcing that the tech-forward Quantum of the Seaswill return to Singapore for the 2027-28 season. This deployment is designed to meet a growing appetite for vacations that bridge the gap between quick, high-energy escapes and deep cultural dives.

Chad Grospe, Royal Caribbean’s vice president for Asia-Pacific, noted that the season is a response to the "strong demand" for itineraries that connect guests to spectacular landscapes and heritage in a way that feels seamless and well-paced.

What makes this specific season stand out is the sheer variety of the "bucket list" stops packed into shorter windows. You can opt for a quick 4-night getaway to hit the world-class street food stalls of George Town in Penang, or go big with a 10-night journey that stretches from the bustling energy of Ho Chi Minh City to the mountain views of Kobe, Japan.

Onboard, the Quantum keeps that high-octane energy going with the Ripcord skydiving simulator and the North Star observation capsule, which provides a 300-foot-high vantage point of the South China Sea.

It’s clear that for 2027, the focus is on a more personalized way to experience the incredible diversity of Asian cultural heritage—making it less about a "once-in-a-lifetime" hurdle and more about an accessible, meaningful homecoming whenever you’re ready to set sail.

Netflix Responds Sharply on Matt Damon’s “Offensive” Claims: “Haters Gotta Hate”

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:29am

After Matt Damon accused Netflix of deliberately simplifying the plot of its film and TV shows for viewers – and Conan O’Brien kept the conversation going with a joke at the Oscar 2026 – the executives of the streamer have finally clapped back.

At a press event on Wednesday, chairman Dan Lin laughed off the suggestion, saying, “There's no such principle.” (via Deadline)

Lin added, "If you watch our movies or shows, we don't repeat our plot, so I don't know where that came from. We are focused on making great movies.”

Photo by Kevin Winter on Getty Images

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer also weighed in, calling the claims “offensive” to filmmakers and creators. “It's so offensive to creators and filmmakers to think that we would give them a bad note like that and they would just take it.”

She continued: “I think, you know, haters gotta hate, and people have got to make things up.”

Back in January, while promoting his film The Rip, Damon addressed the idea of intentionally dumbing down films to cater to casual viewers.

Speaking on Joe Rogan’s podcast, he explained, “The standard way to make an action movie, we learnt [years ago], is you usually have three set pieces. One in the first act, one in the second, one in the third. You spend most of your money on that one in the third act. That’s your finale.”

He added, “And now [Netflix] are like, ‘Can we get a big one in the first five minutes? We want people to stay.”

Ever since then, the discussion about such a strategic shift has gained momentum, with both fans and industry figures weighing in on the debate.

Labubu Dolls Celebrate 10-Year Milestone With Unveiling of New Movie Details

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:23am

It was only a matter of time before everyone's favorite ugly-cute dolls would make it to the big screen.

An upcoming Labubu movie is set at Sony Pictures, magazines including Variety report, with Paul King (Paddington) attached to direct and co-write.

And all the Dear Evan Hansen die-hards will be pleased to know that award-winning playwright Steven Levenson is enlisted as the other co-writer.

The project, which is still in early development, will be a live‑action and CGI hybrid end result, Variety also noted on Wednesday, March 19. Plot details have not yet been revealed.

The developments were announced during Pop Mart’s “The Monsters” global exhibition tour to celebrate their 10th anniversary. A decade ago, Lung launched the whimsical world of Labubu as a picture book series titled The Monsters Trilogy. Then came the toys, and the rest is history.

Labubu dolls are known for their cuddly but fierce appearance that features sharp teeth, furry bodies and pointy ears. In addition to Labubu, who is the primary character in the toy line, other characters include Zimomo, Mokoko and Tycoco, The Hollywood Reporter notes.

Much like buzzy obsessions of the past, Labubus are sparking block-long lines, unboxing crazes, online treasure hunts and late-night restock frenzies. But don’t be fooled — they’re far more than just toys. Thanks to their unconventional, yet whimsical looks, they have become a collector’s item and a full-on fashion statement, especially this year. Thankfully, Parade has a restock guide for fans and customers here.

The upcoming Labubu movie isn't the first toy-inspired flick to hit the silver screen, and it certainly won’t be the last. After the billion-dollar behemoth known as Barbie, cinematic copy-cats are trying to cash in. (Speaking of, there are already rumblings of Barbie sequel as well as a new animated feature.) Mattel itself is adapting several popular toy properties for the big screen, including Hot Wheels (set to be directed by Wicked’s Jon M. Chu).

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:23am

The series has so far explored the Bessette and John F. Kennedy Jr.'s meet-cute, their whirlwind courtship, marriage, and the early days of married life. Now, as it nears its conclusion, Bessette is pulled even deeper into her fears and the high-stakes drama that threatens to overwhelm her.

In a teaser for tonight's episode, Bessette has already pulled back from public appearances. She’s retreated to the safety of the couple’s TriBeCa loft and finds herself sinking deeper into despair as the press’s unrelenting scrutiny threatens to invade every corner of her life.

44 Years Ago Today, '80s Rock Legend Died Tragically at Age 25

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:20am

Guitar legend Randy Rhoads died 44 years ago on this day. The acclaimed guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne died on March 19, 1982, in a plane crash in Leesburg, Florida, while on tour to support Osbourne's Diary of a Madman album. Rhoads, who was known for his powerful guitar solos on songs such as "Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley,” was just 25 years old at the time of his death.

At the time,The New York Times reported that Rhoads, pilot Andrew Aycock, 36, and makeup artist Rachel Youngblood, 58, were killed after the small plane they were joyriding in struck a van and clipped a house. Other members of Osbourne’s entourage witnessed the crash and its fiery aftermath.

In the documentary Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal, Osbourne bandmate Tommy Aldridge recalled that the band’s manager, Sharon Osbourne, became “unglued” when she found out that Rhoads had died. “She just went off on our tour manager, screaming, ‘How could you let that baby get on that plane?!’” he recalled.

Decades after the crash, Ozzy Osbourne told British GQ that tragedy often replayed in his mind and that it felt like “a  bad f---ing horror movie.” “The house was on fire. The bus had been hit by the plane. There was glass and gasoline everywhere. The f---ing house was engulfed,” he said in 2020. "And [Rhoads] was such a nice guy. A very gentle man... but so powerful with his instrument."

Ozzy Osbourne appeared in a TV interview days later

One week after the plane crash, Osbourne shocked fans when he kept a previously scheduled appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman.

After joking with Osbourne about his bat-biting history, Letterman acknowledged that the singer had recently suffered a major loss.

“Last week I lost two of the greatest people in my life,” Osbourne said. “But it ain’t gonna stop me because I’m for rock and roll. And rock and roll is for the people, and I love the people, and that’s what I’m about.”

Osbourne, who died in July 2025 at age 76, often credited Rhoads for helping him forge his successful solo career after leaving the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath.

“He’s probably the truest musician I’ve ever played with,” Osbourne said in a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone. “The way he died was a terrible thing. I owe my career to him. … I knew him for a very short amount of time. But what he gave me in that short amount of time was immeasurable in f---ing greatness.”

On March 18, 2026, the official Ozzy Osbourne Instagram account shared a classic photo from Rhoads’ final performance. In the photo, Osbourne held the guitar virtuoso up in his arms as he played for the crowd for what would be the last time. “March 18, 1982, Randy’s final show, Knoxville, Tennessee,” the caption read.

Ticks, Flys, Mosquitoes and More Will Be Swarming Popular U.S. Destinations More Than Usual This Summer—And Honestly No Where Is Safe

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:14am

If your summer travel plans involve beaches, national parks, or scenic outdoor escapes, you may want to pack more than sunscreen this year.

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is warning that 2026 is shaping up to have a major “bug boom” across the United States, with insects emerging earlier and in larger numbers than usual. The NPMA explains the unusual winter weather patterns have created the perfect conditions for pests to thrive.

In short: warmer temperatures, heavy precipitation, and even winter snowfall have helped bugs survive and now they’re coming out in force.

Why This Summer Will Be So Buggy

The science behind the surge is surprisingly simple. A mix of mild winter stretches, insulating snow cover, and early spring warmth allowed more insects to survive the colder months. Now, with rising temperatures and increased moisture, those populations are multiplying fast.

Dr. Jim Fredericks, senior vice president of public affairs at NPMA, shared that this winter "...was about as extreme as it gets, and those conditions can create a domino effect that impacts pest activity well into spring and summer. This is our way of visualizing the science and giving homeowners a head start on preparing.”

Experts say Americans should expect:

  • Earlier-than-usual mosquito season
  • Increased tick activity
  • More flies, ants, and even cockroaches

And unfortunately for travelers, many of the hardest-hit regions are also some of the country’s most popular vacation destinations.

View this post on Instagram Southeast Hotspots

States across the Southeast, including Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, are expected to see a major spike in mosquitoes, termites, and flies this year.

Warm, wet spring weather followed by summer storms creates ideal breeding grounds, especially in coastal areas.

Popular destinations impacted:

  • Miami
  • Charleston
  • Savannah

Expect humid evenings and a lot of buzzing.

The Midwest & Great Lakes

Planning a lake trip or hiking getaway in the Midwest? You’re heading straight into tick territory.

Regions including Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois are expected to see early and intense tick activity, along with increased flies and ants.

Warm temperatures combined with spring rainfall create ideal conditions for ticks to thrive in wooded and grassy areas.

Popular destinations impacted:

  • Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
  • Door County
  • Chicago (especially parks and lakefront trails)

South Central States

The South Central region, including Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee, could see some of the worst mosquito conditions in the country.

A damp spring combined with tropical weather patterns means standing water and that’s exactly what mosquitoes need to multiply.

Popular destinations impacted:

  • New Orleans
  • Nashville
  • Austin

Expect more bites, especially near rivers, lakes, and after storms.

Southwest

Heading to the desert? You're not even save there. The Southwest is dealing with a different kind of creepy-crawly.

States like Arizona, Nevada, and California are expected to see increased cockroaches, flies, spiders, and even scorpions.

Monsoon rains later in the summer can drive these pests indoors and into tourist areas.

Popular destinations impacted:

  • Phoenix
  • Las Vegas
  • Joshua Tree National Park
View this post on Instagram How to Travel Smart This Summer

You don’t need to cancel your trip but you should prepare.

A few simple tips:

  • Pack insect repellent (especially for mosquitoes and ticks)
  • Wear long sleeves in wooded or grassy areas
  • Avoid standing water when possible
  • Check for ticks after hikes
  • Keep windows and doors closed in buggy regions

This summer’s bug boom is real and it’s nationwide. From mosquito-heavy beach towns to tick-filled forests and even scorpion-prone deserts, some of America’s most popular destinations are also prime pest territory in 2026. The good news? A little preparation goes a long way.

This Unexpected Oklahoma Oasis Is the Genius Spring Break Move for Gen X Parents and Here’s Why

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:10am

When it comes to waterparks, my kids are obsessed. Over the years, we’ve visited countless waterparks across the country and Mexico. So, I knew we had to make our way to Oklahoma City to check out Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark, one of the biggest and newest water parks in the region.

Before reaching the year-old $400 million property, colorful block letters spelling O-K-A-N-A stood out in the distance across the building’s façade.

Seeing the property’s name made my kids and I excited for what we sensed would be a few fun-filled days in the heart of Oklahoma City

As soon as we entered the lively lobby, my intuition was confirmed. As a proud Gen Xer, the songs blaring from the speakers proved that I was in the right place. The heavy rotation of pop and R&B hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and early 2000s was music to my ears.

The nostalgia washed over me and set the tone for what I was sure would be a good time.

Here’s my honest review of Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark and why it’s the perfect spring break getaway for Gen X parents, and more.

Rooms and Accommodations  Courtesy of OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark

Boasting riverfront and lagoon views, the resort is 11 stories and features 404 rooms and suites. With ten distinct accommodation types ranging from 420 to 720 feet, the property is ideal for couples, friend groups, and of course, families of all sizes.

We stayed in the Oka’ suite, which had a living room, two queen beds, and a separate room with a bunk bed, which my tween and teen loved. Upon entering the suite, I was impressed with the plush, yet practical muted furnishings accented with vibrant pillows and decorative accessories. There were also two large-screen TVs, a couch, and desk. Plus, we had a spacious balcony overlooking the sparkling lagoon.

Although our suite only had one bathroom, it was roomy and had a double vanity. When traveling with my teenage daughter who has her own stash of beauty and skincare essentials, more space is always good.

Overall, the suite was spacious and inviting. It also had a mini fridge. However, it didn’t have a microwave, which would’ve come in handy for reheating meals.

The rooms and suites are connected to the waterpark complex, restaurants, and arcade via a walkway. It’s evident that every detail of the design is geared toward making family stays easy and convenient as possible.

Food and Drinks Courtesy of OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark

There’s no shortage of food options. With four restaurants spanning cuisines, guests never have to leave the resort to venture out for a good, fast-casual meal. During our stay, we dined at all four eateries.

After our early flight from New York City, we were starving. The first place that caught our eye was Chido, a Mexican restaurant with a tequila bar and comfortable seating. Located next to the arcade, this spot is perfect for people-watching—especially with the resort being at full capacity during our stay. Beyond its prime location, the food was impressive. My fish tacos, piled with cilantro, avocado, and salsa verde, were bursting with flavor.

For dinner, we dined at Smokehouse Social, which serves a variety of barbecue favorites like BBQ chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, and baby back ribs. My 12-year-old son said the ribs were the best he’d ever eaten and wished he could get that meal back home in Brooklyn. He raved about them so much, he requested the pork ribs again for dinner the following day.

The restaurant also has a sports simulator inside the restaurant for guests to play, which we took full advantage of after dinner. Hours into our stay, I quickly realized there were opportunities to have a good time at every turn.

Courtesy of Karla Pope

Another example of play being thoughtfully incorporated into all aspects of the resort, is on full display at Curveball Kitchen. Specializing in sports food like chili hot dogs, sliders, nachos and more, this eatery is a homebase for those who crave comfort foods. Decked out in baseball-inspired decor, the restaurant has a baseball simulator for guests to take their best swing.

Finally, there’s Jack Rabbit—the resort’s popular breakfast spot. While there’s a full buffet of bacon, eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, and other traditional dishes to jumpstart the day, guests can also indulge in made-to-order omelets and build-your-own Bloody Mary. In the evening, the restaurant serves elevated comfort food like rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, and grilled salmon.

The food options don’t stop. Inside the waterpark’s indoor portion, guests can also grab pizza, burgers, Asian street food, and cool off with Hawaiian-style shaved ice.

There’s also Market 56, which serves Starbucks coffee, as well as a candy shop with tons of nostalgic candies and sweet treats that Gen X guests will appreciate.

Spa Experience

For us Gen Xers who suffer from occasional aches and pains, the on-site spa is the perfect place to unwind. Don’t expect the royal treatment, this is a no-frills spa—but it gets the job done. Frankly, I was shocked there was even a spa on the property. So, it was a welcome surprise that met my needs and left me feeling relaxed and restored. Pro tip: Book a massage or relaxing treatment after a few trips down the water slides.

Waterpark Highlights  Courtesy of OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark

Speaking of water activities, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor aquatic adventures to keep guests of all ages entertained. Ideal for inclement weather and year-round fun, the 100,000-square foot indoor waterpark features a wave pool, lazy river, luxury cabanas, adult-only pool, and kiddie pool, as well as 15 water slides.

The best part? It’s set to a balmy 82 degrees. This was my favorite place in the entire resort because I enjoy warm environments, and this temperature was just right.

Additional attractions include a multi-level interactive play structure with spray zones, more slides, and a huge bucket that tips over every few minutes, drenching guests waiting below. I noticed this area was dominated by younger kids between the ages of 5 and 10.

Since my kids are a bit older and thrill seekers at heart, they couldn’t get enough of the Wild Rapids ride— a rollercoaster and water slide combined.

When I wasn’t in our private cabana nibbling on fresh fruit, I walked around the waterpark and watched old-school music videos like Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” and Deniece Williams’ “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” which were played on a jumbo screen above the wave pool.

Courtesy of Karla Pope

The outdoor waterpark is just as expansive. The main attraction is the cerulean-colored lagoon in the center of the property. It’s the hangout for kids and adults alike who want to cool off and take a dip. There’s also an inflatable obstacle course, which was another major hit with my kids. There’s also a zip line for those who crave adventure.

Activities and Nearby Attractions  Courtesy of OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark

In addition to the waterparks, the resort also has an arcade with laser tag and an escape room. We experienced both during our stay. It was the first time we’d ever participated in an escape room—it was so much fun and now we can’t wait to do it again.

The resort is teeming with an abundance of fun activities for the whole family. Plus, next door, guests can get a healthy dose of culture and history by visiting the First Americans Museum, which shares the cultural diversity, history, and contributions of the First Americans.

The resort, which is owned by Chickasaw Nation, also celebrates the heritage of the land’s Indigenous people through curated art seen throughout the property.

The Bottom Line Courtesy of Karla Pope

Okana Resort & Waterpark offers Gen X parents the best of both worlds: a fun, family-friendly escape that balances comfort and value. Plus, lively dining and common areas are set to nostalgic hits, blending throwback vibes with new memories. Whether you’re 50 or 15, guests are sure to have an unforgettable time.

Neve Campbell plays his first ex-wife, Maggie McPherson; Becki Newton stars as his second ex-wife and lawyer associate, Lorna Crane; Angus Sampson is private investigator Dennis "Cisco" Wojciechowski; and Jazz Raycole portrays office manager Izzy Letts. LL has featured scenes involving the Bradbury Building, Dodger Stadium, Santa Monica Beach, Grand Central Market, Los Angeles City Hall, Langer’s Deli, and Osteria Mozza restaurant. As showrunner Ted Humphrey pointed out to Tudum, “LA is such an atmospheric city — there’s a lot more to it than the stereotype of Hollywood and celebrities.” The production has stayed away from the main tourist attractions in favor of locations the locals love.

Whether you’re an Angeleno or an out-of-state fan, read on to find out more about The Lincoln Lawyer’s hotspots and how to visit them!

1. What is the Bradbury Building in The Lincoln Lawyer? The Bradbury Building304 S. Broadway, Los Angeles

During the fourth season’s first episode, showing the ex-wives bonding, Lorna meets up with Maggie at the Bradbury Building, one of the jewels of L.A. architecture. Dating from 1893, it’s the oldest landmarked building in the city. As the L.A. Conservancy has noted, “behind its modest, mildly Romanesque exterior lies a magical light-filled Victorian court that rises almost fifty feet with open cage elevators, marble stairs, and ornate iron railings.” It’s often been used as a filming location, including for the moviesThe Artist (2011) Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) and Blade Runner (1982). The Bradbury is still an active office space place today.

In 2020, a full restoration was completed on the building.

The iconic City Hall building, completed in 1928 from granite and grey terra cotta — and marble inside — is the center of L.A. city government, housing the mayor's and city council's offices. The elaborate bronze doors feature images of Mulholland’s water works. Painted murals within depict movie-making and Hollywood has used City Hall in numerous TV shows and films. Most notably, it provided the backdrop for Dragnet in the 1950s.

In Season 3, Episode 2, black-clad Cisco sticks out like a sore thumb as he visits Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel, where a bunch of bathing suit-clad revelers enjoy drinks and splash in its Tropicana Pool. Cisco chats up a hotel employee at poolside, seeking hotel security footage.

As the Rosevelt boasts on its website, “With its beautiful mural by famed British painter David Hockney, the pool offers a colorful, sexy ambiance for sipping cocktails, soaking up the sun, and hanging out Hollywood style.”

Mickey and girlfriend prosecutor Andy Freeman (Yaya Dacosta) flirt over their love of French dip sandwiches in season three, episode two. “If you’re so passionate about it, why don’t you join me for one,” Mickey smiles at the beauty. After they romantically eat together, the camera swirls by the retro Cole’s signs.

Sadly, the 117-year-old restaurant has faced hard financial times and was scheduled to shut down last year. However, support from fans has kept it alive for now and there are hopes that new buyers will acquire the business and still keep it running as Cole’s.

Baseball fans regularly pack the place, and it’s bigger than ever as the L.A. Dodgers have won the World Series two years in a row, including last year’s epic seven-game duel with the Toronto Blue Jays. Since opening in 1962, Dodger Stadium has played host to pitcher Sandy Koufax’s perfect game (1965), Kirk Gibson’s 1988 World Series walk-off home run, and Freddie Freeman’s 2024 World Series walk-off grand slam.

The two-bedroom, three-bath home shows an Asian influence, and as viewers have seen, it boasts a breathtaking view of the city. According to the Zillow description of the property, “View from the master bedroom allows you to open your eyes to the sun coming up over the city and close them to the beautiful LA city lights…Enjoy the ‘I'm King of the World’ feeling.” Mickey certainly does!

Watch Gordon Ramsay's 6-Year-Old Son Bring Next-Level Cuteness to 'Next Level Chef' (Exclusive)

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 8:00am

It doesn’t get much cuter than 6-year-old Oscar Ramsay, who drops in on dad Gordon Ramsay’s episode of Next Level Chef to help introduce this week’s challenge: reimagining kids’ classic dishes.

The remaining chefs on Team Gordon, Team Arrington and Team Blais must take these nostalgic flavors and elevate them into culinary masterpieces. It might sound simple, but it’s not child’s play as one more chef leaves the competition.

“Oh, my goodness. He looks just like Chef Ramsay,” professional chef ColeLawson says in this exclusive video clip. “I’m like looking at a little ham. They have the same hair. I promise he's not giving me baby food for thought not at all. Not even a little bit.”

Then Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais get in on the fun.

Nyesha jokes, “Chef, please drop this skin care routine because you look great today.”

To which Oscar responds, “I feel great,” giving a little jump.

And Richard chimes in, “Chef, you look well rested, like a proper nap time rested.”

The Gordon enters as if he doesn’t already know where his son in and says, “I've been looking everywhere for you.” And then he introduces Oscar.

Social media chef Tim Laielli says, “It’s really cool to see the soft, dad-side of Chef Ramsay.”  Then he jokes, “We’ve got Oscar and the grouch right there together.”

But Oscar doesn’t get excused until Nyesha asks him, “Who makes the best food at home?”

To which Oscar honestly replies, “Mummy!”

And Richard jokes as Oscar leaves, “We have to bring him back as I've never felt taller.”

Next Level Chef airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Streams next day on Hulu.

Sandals’ Three Iconic Jamaica Hotels Will Be Fully Transformed By End of Year

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:47am

If you’ve been holding onto memories of your favorite Jamaican getaway, waiting for the perfect moment to return to the place where it all began, the countdown is officially on.

For many of us, Sandals Montego Bay, Royal Caribbean and South Coast aren’t just resorts—they are the backdrops to our best anniversaries, our most relaxed girl trips, and those quiet moments of "One Love" that stay with you long after the tan fades.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa last fall, the decision was made to keep these three specific doors closed a bit longer. But as restoration efforts progressed, the brand realized they had a rare gift: the chance to stop simply repairing the past and start dreaming about an even better future.

Related: Michelin Says These 11 Caribbean Islands Have the Best Resorts Right Now

Executive Chairman Adam Stewartshared that having these properties fully closed provided a "blank canvas" that changed everything for the team. As he walked the quiet grounds and thought about the guests who have remained loyal for decades, it became clear that a simple restoration wouldn't be enough for a comeback of this scale.

“We shouldn’t simply restore what was there. We should dream bigger,” Stewart said. “When we welcome our guests back, they’ll see the transformation and they’ll feel exactly why we chose to use this moment to create something worthy of their loyalty.”

Related: This Little-Known Caribbean Hotel Was Just Named the Best All-Inclusive Resort in the World

This means that when you step back onto the sand at Sandals South Coast on November 18, 2026, or arrive at the Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean resorts just in time for the holidays on December 18, 2026, the experience will feel both entirely new and comfortingly familiar.

At Sandals South Coast, which reopens November 18, 2026, the focus is on a deeper connection to its 500-acre nature reserve. The lobby is being completely opened up to the air, and the old pool tower is being removed to make way for a massive new "St. Vincent style" signature pool. If you’re a fan of a good slow-pour, you’ll be happy to see the addition of BLUM, the new Blue Mountain coffee concept, alongside four brand-new dining spots and a dedicated Rum Club for evening gatherings.

Just in time for the holidays, both Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Montego Bay will return on December 18, 2026. At Royal Caribbean, the "arrival portal" is being leveled and rebuilt. It will feature a long, modern infinity-edge pool that stretches toward the sea—a direct nod to the architectural style of the newest 2.0 properties.

They are also moving away from the older garden-view blocks in favor of 100 more contemporary, airy suites and a communal dining spot called Suppa that focuses on shared Jamaican plates. Meanwhile, over at Montego Bay, the original flagship where it all began is getting a completely redesigned pool and the debut of Buccan—the open-hearth, wood-fired restaurant that became an instant favorite at the new St. Vincent property.

For those of us who have stayed at these three resorts a dozen times, the most important detail is that the "Stay at 1, Play at All" exchange between Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean is staying intact. You’ll be able to hop on the shuttle and experience the new Buccan at MoBay for dinner, then head back to the new Suppa at Royal Caribbean for a late-night drink—all while checking out the biggest physical transformation these properties have seen in 30 years.

This High-Tech Grill Season Must-Have Takes the Guesswork Out of Cooking: 'Thoroughly Impressed'

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:45am

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Grilling season is fast approaching, and with it comes the inevitable epidemic of self-proclaimed grill masters cooking their protein to oblivion. Burgers turned to hockey pucks and chicken teetering on the edge of being sawdust. Steaks alchemized into rubber, and fish so dry you couldn't tell that they ever swam in the ocean. It's one of the most common mistakes people make on the grill, due to the wild, untamed nature of cooking over an open flame. And while you might be able to set and forget veggies or kebabs, protein requires a more watchful eye if you're aiming to make competition-worthy barbecue

Even if your aspirations aren't that lofty, there's nothing more gratifying than attempting to make a perfect medium-rare T-bone and nailing it every single time. Unfortunately, grilling isn’t foolproof—even with the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1150 Digital Charcoal Grill and Smoker—and no matter how good your intuition (or your grill) is, you might still need some help to get the job done. Luckily, ChefsTemp has a game-changing product that makes nailing your target temp easier than ever.

😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔

I give you the ProTemp 2 Plus Wireless Meat Thermometer, the key to making expert-level protein without all the extra guesswork. This high-tech addition to your grilling toolkit essentially acts as your eyes on the grill, using an ultra-thin stainless steel probe to monitor internal and ambient temperatures. The probe can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 1,000°F and internal temps up to 221°F. It also comes with a durable water-resistant stand that can charge up to three probes at once.

The thermometer seamlessly connects with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, giving you ultimate freedom to manage your cook from wherever you are with the ChefsTemp app. You can get alerts sent to your Apple Watch or phone that let you know when your chicken is ready or when your burger reaches your specified temp. The ChefsTemp app also lets you control up to nine probes at once, ensuring everyone gets their steak cooked to their liking.

Related: 10 Surprising Celebs You Didn't Know Owned Restaurants

It truly makes cooking less of a guessing game and more of a science, giving you the confidence to step away from the grill and actually have a margarita with your friends. As if that wasn't enough, the probe is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and is waterproof, so you can use it beyond the grill, whether you're roasting, baking, frying, or cooking sous vide. Not to mention it has a whopping 30-hour battery life, so if you're making something more involved like a brisket, you can rest assured that it'll come out as good as perfect, no matter how long it takes.

At $149.99, it might seem a little pricey, but it's really a small price to pay for peace of mind. And when you consider how expensive meat is these days, you'll save yourself the headache of literally throwing money away by not cooking your protein to the point of being inedible. Personally, we'll take it. Now that's grilling season done smart.

Holland America Line's New 8-Day Asia Cruise is a First for 2027

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:31am

If you've been dreaming of the vibrant night markets of Kuala Lumpur or the turquoise waters of Phuket, but couldn't quite wrap your head around a three-week commitment, Holland America Line is finally bridging that gap.

The cruise line just unveiled a new 8-Day Far East Discovery itinerary on the Noordam that is a major departure from the standard 14-day marathons typically required to see this part of the world.

Holland America Line

For the busy traveler who wants a meaningful introduction to Southeast Asia without burning through their entire year of vacation time, this sailing is a total game-changer. It taps into the growing "short-cation" trend, proving that you don’t need a month-long voyage to truly immerse yourself in the culture and flavors of the East.

Departing November 27, 2027, the journey begins and ends in Singapore, but the real standout is the pace. Unlike many shorter cruises that rush through ports, this one features an overnight in Port Klang, giving you nearly 36 hours to explore Kuala Lumpur.

This rare window allows you to see the city transition from its bustling daytime markets to the neon glow of the Petronas Towers at night. Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment for Holland America, noted that the magic of this trip is the contrast. “What I love about this itinerary is the contrast you get in just eight days. You feel the energy and city vibe of Kuala Lumpur, especially with the overnight, and then you balance that with access to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches in places like Phuket. It gives guests a great introduction to Southeast Asia without feeling rushed or overwhelming.”

The itinerary is a carefully curated "best-of" list that also includes a stop in George Town, Penang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its colonial architecture and some of the best street food on the planet.

For those who do have a bit more time, the cruise is designed to be paired with a longer 14-day voyage without any repeat ports, but the 8-day standalone option is what really feels fresh. It offers the refined service and comfort Holland America is known for in a package that actually fits into a modern schedule. It’s a sophisticated, well-paced week that proves you can see the world’s most striking destinations and still be back home in time for the following Monday.

22 Years Ago Today, This 2004 Oscar-Winning Movie Broke Viewers' Hearts When It First Came Out

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:22am

Exactly 22 years ago, the world was introduced to a movie it would never be able to forget.

On March 19, 2004, the critically-acclaimed film The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind came out in theaters, and even over two decades later, the movie is still etched in viewers' minds.

Directed by Michel Gondry, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a science fiction romance film starring Jim Carreyand Kate Winslet. They play Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski, two lovers who get their memories of each other erased from their brains after going through a traumatic breakup, only to find that love isn't so easy to forget.

The tagline for the film sums it up perfectly: "You can erase someone from your mind. Getting them out of your heart is another."

@oscars

"I can't see anything that I don't like about you." 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' debuted in theaters on this day 20 years ago. At the 77th Academy Awards, it won Best Original Screenplay (Michel Gondry, Charlie Kaufman, Pierre Bismuth). Kate Winslet also received a Best Actress nomination for her performance as Clementine Kruczynski. #jimcarrey #katewinslet #eternalsunshine #eternalsunshineofthespotlessmind #moviescene #2000s #scifi #drama #kirstendunst #markruffalo #elijahwood

In addition to Carrey and Winslet, the film also includes performances from Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood and Tom Wilkinson, whose characters work for the company that removes memories from patients' minds while they sleep.

Winslet received a nomination for Best Actress at the 2005 Oscars for her role in the film, marking her fourth career nomination, though she didn't pull out a win. That year, Hilary Swank took home the Best Actress trophy for her performance in Million Dollar Baby. (Winslet later won her first Oscar 4 years later for The Reader in 2009.)

Aside from Winslet's nod, Eternal Sunshine was also nominated—and won—for Best Original Screenplay (Charlie Kaufman). It is the most recent example of a film winning for Original Screenplay without having been nominated in the Best Picture category.

With a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and a 4.2 star average rating on Letterboxd, the beloved film continues to stand the test of time.

"This movie DESTROYED me," one Letterboxd user wrote in their review of the film, while another called the movie "One of the most well-crafted love stories ever told."

Someone else on the movie-rating platform celebrated the anniversary of the film's release, writing in a review on March 19, "happy 22nd birthday to this INCREDIBLE movie!"

Val Kilmer Died Last Year. His Family Just Let AI Bring Him Back for a New Film

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:11am

Val Kilmer spent years making peace with what cancer had taken from him. He lost his natural voice to throat cancer in 2015, endured two tracheotomies, and eventually turned to an AI software company to reconstruct the sound of his speech. He used that voice in Top Gun: Maverick, his final film. He died of pneumonia on April 1, 2025, at 65.

Now, less than a year after his death, a generative AI version of Kilmer is set to appear in As Deep as the Grave, an indie film announced Wednesday by production company First Line Films. It's one of the boldest uses of artificial intelligence in moviemaking to date, and it raises questions that Hollywood has been tiptoeing around for years.

View this post on Instagram

The story behind the casting is genuinely unusual. Kilmer had been attached to the film five years before his death, signed on to play Father Fintan, a Catholic priest and Native American spiritualist. The role appealed to him personally as he identified as part Native American and had deep ties to the Southwest, where the film is set. But his health never allowed him to make it to set. Director Coerte Voorheesrefused to recast.

'He was the actor I wanted to play this role,' Voorhees told Variety on Wednesday. 'It was very much designed around him.' Rather than recast or scrap the part, the director worked with Kilmer's estate and his daughter Mercedes to reconstruct him digitally, using archival images and recordings his family supplied. The AI version of Kilmer will appear in what the filmmakers describe as a significant portion of the finished film.

Mercedes Kilmer, who is herself a filmmaker, gave her blessing. Her father, she said in a statement, had always embraced technology as a storytelling tool. His son Jack is also supportive.

Related: A 1993 Contract Could Rewrite 'Star Wars' History — and Disney’s Not Happy

The film itself is based on a true story. The excavations of archaeologists Ann and Earl Morris in Arizona's Canyon de Chelly, tracing the history of the Navajo people. The cast includes Tom Felton, Abigail Lawrie, Abigail Breslin, and Wes Studi.

The announcement landed differently than most casting news. SAG-AFTRA, the actors union, has fought bitterly over AI replicas in recent years. Its rules require performer consent for digital replication, and by that measure, this project threads the needle. Kilmer signed the original contract, his family approved the AI work, and his estate is being compensated. The union has not commented specifically on this film.

Still, the ethical issue is hard to ignore. A first-look image released by Variety shows an AI-rendered Kilmer, eyes cast forward. It is recognizably him, and that is precisely the point, and precisely the problem for those who believe performance cannot be separated from the living body that creates it.

Producers are currently seeking distribution, with hopes of releasing the film later this year. Whether audiences embrace it or recoil may say as much about where the culture stands as anything a filmmaker could put on screen.

The Inexpensive Carry-On Essential That Saves Me Every Time

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:10am

When you’re packing for a trip in a carry-on, you never want to pack items that are extremely large or unnecessary. As someone who always travels with just a carry-on for most trips, I make sure that every single item that I pack has a dual-purpose. If items are super small, that scores me extra points in the “pro carry-on packer” game. I’ve worked on cruise ships, traveled the world on a Broadway tour and solo travel multiple times a year for leisure. I’m an extremely minimalistic packer, and I’ve definitely gotten my packing habits down to a science.

Over the years, I’ve collected a few non-negotiables that I always pack in my carry-on, no matter the trip. Whether I’m taking a solo cruise, city hopping in Europe or going to visit friends across the country–my list of carry-on essentials always stays the same. There’s one item in particular that is not only small and incredibly useful, but it’s also inexpensive. There’s truly no reason not to get this simple item, so stay tuned while I tell you all about it.

Always Bring A Carabiner With You

Project Untethered is a Youtube channel where the creator, Mitch, shares useful and out-of-the-box packing tips. In one video where he focuses on cheap packing hacks, Mitch shares that he always has at least one carabiner with him attached to one of his bags. While he finds a lot of different uses for them, there’s one way he uses a carabiner to pack more clothes but not pay for extra luggage. For this trick, you’ll need a carabiner plus an empty packing cube that has a handle attached to it.

Wear a ton of layers when you go to check-in at the airport (this is especially useful if you are checking luggage as well). Then, once you are done checking in, take those extra layers off and roll them up into the extra packing cube that you brought. Lastly, clip the packing cube onto your hand luggage with the carabiner. Mitch says that you can also use a plastic bag for this hack if you are desperately in need, however using the packing cube will keep things much more organized.

Carabiners Have Multiple Uses That Make It Well Worth It

Beyond using a carabiner to bring extra items with you in your carry-on luggage, you can also use it to make things much easier throughout your trip as well. You can attach a carabiner to every bag that you bring on your trip, including your regular carry-on, your backpack or any other personal item that you bring.

If you’re taking a vacation where you’ll be visiting a beach, you can use the carabiner to clip on your wet bathing suit to the outside of your bag. If you change out your shoes from wet beach sandals into something more walkable, you can clip your sandals onto a bag as well. You can also use the carabiner to hang your bag places, ensuring that it’s not getting dirty and it stays out of the way. On the airplane itself, a carabiner can be used to hang your bag to the tray table hinge for easy access.

One of my favorite ways to use a carabiner is to use it to attach my water bottle to my backpack. I am huge on staying hydrated while I travel, and I usually have a 40-ounce Owala water bottle with me. These water bottles have little handles on them, making them perfect to attach to a carabiner which can clip right on to any backpack or shoulder bag. This way, it doesn’t have to take up space inside the bag, and it’s much easier to access if it's hanging outside of the bag. For those who love to shop while traveling, you can also use a carabiner to attach your shopping bags to your backpack. There are endless possibilities with this tiny item, so I highly recommend getting a few before your next trip.

42 Years Ago Today, Hit CBS Sitcom Was Born in NYC—But One Star Almost Said ‘No’

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:08am

On March 19, 1984, Kate & Allie made its debut on CBS. The hit sitcom, created by Sherry Coben, starred Susan Saint James and Jane Curtin as two divorced moms raising their kids together in a New York City brownstone. It aired for six seasons, until May 22, 1989.

Kate McArdle (Saint James) was the mother to a teen daughter, Emma (Ari Meyers), and worked in a travel agency, while Allie Lowell (Curtin) was a stay-at-home mom to Jennie and Chip (Allison Smith and Frederick Koehler). From the jump, Kate & Allie received positive reviews.

A TV critic for The New York Timeswrote that the show got off to “an unusually promising start.” And was  “fortunate enough to attract some first-rate talent, in front of and behind the cameras.”

Jane Curtin didn’t want to do the show

Curtin was already well known as an original cast member on Saturday Night Live. Four years after her exit from the NBC sketch comedy series, Kate & Allie wasn’t initially her cup of tea.

“It was presented to me as a series called Two Mommies. And instantly I wanted to barf,” Curtin said in an interview with The Television Academy Foundation. “I didn't want to do it. I thought it was stupid.”

“And then they said, ‘Well, just meet the director,” she recalled. “I met the director, Billy Perski, and had no idea who he was. And I thought, ‘I don't want to do this. This is not anything I want to do. I should be doing something much better, much more important.’ And then my agent said, ‘But they're going to pay you this amount of money,’ which was a lot of money. And I thought, ‘Okay, I'll do it. We'll see. We'll see what happens.’"

Curtin, who won two Emmy Awards for her role in Kate & Allie, admitted that the show “turned out to be really fun” and the cast and crew became like family to her.

“I had the time of my life doing that show,” she said. “My daughter was 18 months when we started, and it was four-camera videotape. We worked banker’s hours. My daughter would come to work and if Susan's baby, who was, I think, about four months older than mine, came, we would just put the babies on the floor and then step over them while we were rehearsing. And when they got big enough, we put them in director's chairs. … It was so warm and familial."

Saint James admitted she was also hesitant to join the show at first. Speaking with People magazine, she shared, “I could relate to the problems of a divorced woman, but I didn’t want to play a show with glib kid actors.”

She finally agreed, but recalled, “Every step of the way, before every meeting, every reading, every rehearsal, I was on the phone to Jane begging her to show up just one more time. Finally, we taped before a live audience, and they fell apart laughing during the first scene. When we went backstage, Jane said to me, ‘Susan, I’ve never had so much fun in my whole life, and don’t you dare ever tell anybody I said that.’”

Kate & Allie was a rare sitcom that filmed in NYC

Kate & Allie stood out from other shows of the day, such as Diff’rent Strokes, Family Ties, and Cheers. Unlike most primetime series, the show was filmed in New York City instead of on a Los Angeles soundstage.

In an interview posted by Rediscover the 80s, Smith, who played Curtin’s daughter Jennie on Kate & Allie, admitted, “I never would have auditioned for a Kate & Allie if it hadn’t shot in New York. I still had many brothers and sisters at home, and we were never interested in leaving New York and disrupting the family.”

Of working with Curtin and Saint James, the Kate & Allie star added, “Jane and Susan were both motherly and both fabulous. I learned comedic genius from being around Jane and all-around greatness from Susan.”

Nancy Guthrie Exclusive: Recently Vacant Home Could Have Been Suspect's ‘Staging Location,’ Retired SWAT Commander Says

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:03am

Investigators searching for missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie are now turning their attention to a recently vacant home near where she disappeared.

In an exclusive interview with Parade, retired Pima County SWAT commander Bob Krygier explained that properties like vacant houses can serve as a "home base or staging location" for suspects, allowing them to blend into the area while quietly observing neighborhood routines. The insight comes as authorities continue to track down new leads more than six weeks into the case, underscoring how even seemingly minor details can take on new significance as the investigation evolves.

"They could look at [that location] as [a] possible home base or staging location for the suspect(s). It would provide them a cover story to be at those locations at different times," Krygier tells me, explaining that staying at a nearby home would offer an opportunity for a suspect or suspects to be "a little bit more 'under the radar' to see the activity of the neighborhood, to see the comings and goings of people, the timing of things of all the people, [including] Nancy."

"A location like [a vacant home], out of the prying eye of the neighborhood, could also be a location to set up surveillance equipment if anyone chose [to do so]. It could be easily stashed in a structure or on the property without anyone knowing," he adds.

This is just one reason that it's important for authorities to fully search any and all vacant homes in the area as part of the investigation. We asked Krygier why this home is being looked into now.

"It is just more follow up," Krygier explains. "The investigators continue to follow all the leads and tips that they are getting ( or getting to). Believe it or not, new viable leads pop up all the time. Someone in the area could see or hear something and it shakes loose a memory that they just put away as 'nothing' at the time," he adds.

Parade talked to Krygier after NewsNation's Brian Entin said that the FBI was asking neighbors about a vacant property.

“Some of the things that they’re talking about is there’s one neighbor that moved out before Nancy disappeared, and they are asking more questions about that situation. Not to say that that has anything to do with what happened. But that is something the FBI agents are asking about," Entin said on the March 17 episode of his YouTube show, Brian Entin Investigates.

Guthrie has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the FBI (1-800-CALL-FBI).
