Saint Bernard Soaks up the Snow and Sunshine Like He Was Born for This
Some dogs tolerate the cold, but Saint Bernards truly belong in it. With their thick coats and calm, steady nature, winter doesn’t feel harsh to them. When you add in their love for pretty much anything, a sprinkle of sunshine into the day just turns a great moment into absolute perfection.
In this video, we meet a Saint Bernard stretched out in the snow, and he's happy to be soaking up both the cool ground and the warm light, as if he’s found his ideal setting. Completely relaxed and at peace, he looks exactly where he’s meant to be, and it will brighten up your day, too.
@brunostbernardBruno is loving second winter 🥶 #Dogs #SaintBernards #DogsofTikTok #Snow #Spring
♬ Dancing In The Moonlight x Pumped Up Kicks - darcy stokesOn March 18, @brunostbernard shared a video of Bruno, a Saint Bernard, loving the weather. Not because it's finally spring, but because he's experiencing his "second winter" and it's the very best for him. He's happy to be soaking up the sun's rays while keeping his belly cool with the snow on the deck.

In the comments, people were just as taken with Bruno's smile as we were. They left fun comments, calling him "adorable, cutie," and saying hello. Others shared love, leaving red heart emojis and laughing emojis, and there were a lot of heart-eye emojis, which is very appropriate.

Saint Bernards Are Great at Having Fun Doing Almost AnythingBruno is having a great time, and he's not really even doing anything. To him, being able to sit down on the deck outside while his body stays cool with the snow and his face warms up from the sunlight is something to smile about, and he's right. But he only sees life that way because, as a Saint Bernard, he's just really happy about doing anything and always knows how to make the most of things.
According to the American Kennel Club, the Saint Bernard dog is known for being "charming, playful, and inquisitive," which means they're happy to make a game out of anything and are interested in everything, so life's a game. In the family life write-up for the breed traits and characteristics, the Saint Bernard is at the top end of the scale for being lovey-dovey and good with children. Energy levels, trainability, and mental stimulation needs are right in the center; they don't need much.
And we see that with sweet Bruno, who is having the best morning, and ours is better for seeing his giant smile.
Mom Introduces Her 16 Maine Coon Cats and Every Single One Is Stunning
There are cat people… and then there are people who have fully committed to a lifestyle.
Because having one Maine Coon is already an experience. Having 16? That is a full-blown event.

♬ original sound - wildmane_mainecoonsThe jaw-dropping video was shared by TikToker @wildmane_mainecoons, and it features a cat mom and breeder introducing her entire lineup of Maine Coons one by one.
And somehow, each cat is more beautiful than the last.

She walks through everyone, from tiny kittens to moms, dads, and even grandmas, which I did not realize was something I needed to see until now. At one point, she casually includes a Savannah cat too, bringing the total to 17 cats just casually existing in one house, like it's completely normal.
The cats themselves are exactly what you would expect from Maine Coons.
Huge. Fluffy. Majestic. Slightly intimidating in the “you know they run this house” kind of way.
The people in the comments were completely unwell.
“Do I have cats? No. Am I afraid of them? Sadly, yes. Did I watch the whole video? Yes. Those cats are beautiful.”
“I never saw a grandma cat 'til today… and I’m coming over.”
“Kindly requesting a playdate between myself and the 16 cats and kittens.”
Others were immediately ready to change their lives.
“This is my dream cat. One day I will get one.”
“I am so in love with Maine Coons.”
And honestly, same. It is impossible not to fall a little bit in love watching them all move around like a group of tiny lions who also enjoy snacks and soft blankets.
How Maine Coons Are Different From Other Cats @maxiecoon🔊Why Maine Coon Cats Are The Best 😻 #catfacts #mainecooncat #maxiecoon
♬ original sound - 🐱🖤Maxie & Foxie🧡🐱🇬🇧Maine Coons are often described as being more like dogs than typical cats, and I can confirm that from experience. My Maine Coon, Meatball, follows people around the house, wants to be involved in everything, and will absolutely insert himself into any situation, whether he was invited or not.
They tend to be less aloof than many other cats and areknown for being social, affectionate, and very people-oriented kitties. Instead of hiding when guests come over, many Maine Coons will walk right up, as if they are hosting the event.
They are also one of the largest domestic cat breeds, which means everything about them feels a little extra. Bigger paws, longer bodies, more fluff, and yes… a much larger appetite. These felines eat like they have places to be and responsibilities to handle.
But more than anything, they just want to be around their humans.
Which, if you ask anyone watching that video, seems like a pretty great deal.

Majestic Maine Coon Cat Is Neighborhood's 'Resident Thug' and People Can't Get Enough
Every neighborhood's got that one cat. The cat who reigns over the entire block and acts like he owns the whole town. That's Craig the Maine Coon.
In a recent TikTok, Craig keeps all eyes on his neighborhood perched atop a car, constantly surveying his territory. The caption explains, "Craig is in everybody's yard and on everybody's car. And the whole hood loves him."
The POV text says, "When your cat, Craig, is the thug in the neighborhood." Craig's definitely giving that energy. He’s sitting up there looking majestic but also, slightly intimidating, like he's keeping law and order on those streets.

"He's beautiful and he knows it." Facts.
"Majestic ✨," captured the entire moment in one simple word.
Craig's sitting up there looking like he runs everything. Based on the caption, he pretty much does. He's in everybody's yard. On everybody's car. And somehow the whole hood loves him for it.
That's pure Maine Coon energy right there. He cannot be contained.
Maine Coons Have Intimidating Faces But Are Actually Gentle, Affectionate CatsThe funniest thing about the idea of Craig looking like a ‘thug’: even though Maine Coons naturally look serious and intimidating, they are actually very gentle giants.
Everything about a Maine Coon's face reads as stern. High cheekbones, broad square muzzle, prominent brow ridge that makes them look permanently concerned about something. Their eyes can sometimes be intense and don’t blink often, almost surveillance-like. Those tufted ear tips add a bit of a wild edge to complete the look.
Then there's all that fur. The thick mane around their neck looks very much lion-like. Their bushy eyebrows make them look liek they are always in deep thought. Some have those natural "M" shaped markings on their foreheads that can appear to look like built-in frown lines.
Put it all together and you get a cat that looks like they're running a very serious operation.

The reality? Maine Coons cats are famously known for their gentle and affectionate temperaments. They get along well with kids, other pets, and pretty much everyone. They're playful, warm-hearted cats who just happened to be born with the face of someone perpetually unimpressed and an intimidating size.
Craig sitting on that car looking like the neighborhood enforcer? He's probably innocent just minding his own business deciding between napping there or napping on a different car. That intense stare suggesting he's plotting world domination? Nope. He's just vibing or possibley just trying to stay awake.
Maine Coons might look like they mean serious business but they're actually just big fluffy sweethearts born wearing intimidating faces.
If Craig's the resident thug, he's the kind who happily accepts treats from multiple houses and lets every resident pet him.The whole hood loves him. Of course they do.
Rescue Golden Retrievers Tuck in New Stuffies Like Real Babies and We're Crying
Adopting a senior rescue dog is one of the best decisions I've ever made. That doesn't mean it was easy introducing him to our resident guardian, a Corgi, but with patience, solidifying routines, and more love than both dogs could ever imagine, life is pretty good now. One thing that helped my boy settle in faster was making sure he had things of his own so he felt like part of the family from the get-go.
Senior Golden Retriever, Duke, has been in his forever home for a hot minute now, but his new Golden sis, Leona, is still finding her way. It just so happens that Mom bought them both brand-new stuffies and the two pups were SO excited, they tucked them into bed (and yes, we're melting)!

Watching Duke find true happiness in a supportive home is the best example of what it means to adopt a senior rescue dog. And Leona joining the family (and she's doing so well) is the icing on the proverbial cake! There hasn't been a better twosome since peanut butter and jelly!

Sometimes, she runs to tattle on her brother like any sibling would. It's always a treat to see what Duke's stolen next. In this case, it's a cookie sheet.

Aside from the obvious comfort a stuffed toy can bring, it shows them they're not alone and are worthy of having something that's theirs.
My senior boy uses his favorite stuffie to self-soothe by nibbling on it when he's anxious, stressed, or a little too excited. One look at Duke and Leona, and it's clear they feel pretty special getting brand-new "babies" to tuck in—and that makes the $6 spent 100% worth it!

Golden Retriever Gets a Happy Meal for His Birthday and Accidentally Spooks the Cashier
Golden Retrievers are known for their lovable and friendly personalities. They are basically furballs of affection and make most people smile. Most Goldens are a decent size, yet their silly and affable demeanor makes them completely adorable rather than threatening. Still, some people have a legitimate fear of dogs, no matter how irresistibly cute they may be.
Wally the Golden Retriever recently celebrated his birthday by getting some special grub at the McDonald's drive-thru and was surprised by how the cashier greeted him.
@wally.meets.worldI still think about this interaction daily 🫠 #goldenretriever #dogsoftiktok #drivethru
♬ original sound - Wally DogIn the TikTok from @wally.meets.world, Wally's mom was at the drive-thru of the Golden Arches and gave the precious pooch's favorite order as he patiently waited in the backseat.
"Can I get a hamburger Happy Meal, but can I just get the hamburger just plain, nothing on it? Thank you," she politely asked the cashier.
As they drove up to the cashier to pay, Wally stuck his head out the window in anticipation of his special treat. Once they pulled up, the canine cutie even put his front paws outside of the car to show his excitement for the tasty burger. His mom encouraged him to sit back and reassured him that his food was on the way, while sharing the celebratory occasion for the yummy treat.
"Getting a Happy Meal — it's his birthday today," she told the cashier with a smile as Wally edged closer to the drive-thru window.
Wally Unintentionally Scared the CashierWally's mom knew he was just being his usual charming self and assumed the cashier would get a kick out of his childlike enthusiasm, but got an unexpected reaction.
"Oh, you're scared of him? Is that what you said?" his mom asked, surprised, and immediately put down her phone. "Oh, sorry! Oh my goodness!"
Apparently, Wally's over-the-top adorableness was too much to handle for the young woman. The compassionate canine and his mom both respected the cashier's feelings, so Wally sat back in the car to avoid causing her any distress.

Followers commended Wally's mom for her understanding and consideration of the cashier's fear.
"Your reaction to her being scared was perfect. Respect for all is amazing. Even though Wally is a perfect little baby!! Happy birthday baby!" one raved.
"Love that she respected her. Now that's a good parent," another noted.
"I’m happy to see that you didn’t take it personally and apologized!! He’s a cutie pie and I hope he had a good birthday!" someone praised.
Despite the little hiccup at the drive-thru window, Wally loved his Happy Meal and had a wonderful birthday.

5 Signs Your Dog Is Asking for Space, According to a Trainer
Your dog may constantly be joining you as you put away laundry, while you're watching Netflix and even taking a bathroom break. Yet, even highly attached dogs desire some "me time" now and again, and pet experts stress it's vital to know how your dog may communicate this need. After all, since dogs don't talk, you have to know what cues to watch out for. To help you understand your dog better, we gathered 5 sign your dog needs some space, according to a trainer. That way, when you see certain dog behaviors or body language, you'll know what it means.
"Understanding when your dog is asking for space is essential for both safety and trust," says Alexandra Bassett, CPDT-KA, the founder of Dog Savvy Positive Dog Training. "Dogs communicate primarily through body language, and many of their signals are subtle. When people miss or ignore these early cues, dogs may feel increasingly stressed or trapped. Recognizing the early signs allows you to intervene before the situation escalates and helps your dog feel heard and protected."
Bassett shares that dogs have many reasons to ask for some time alone, such as feeling nervous around strangers, feeling overwhelmed by activity, being tired or being protective of something (or someone) they value. "A dog might ask for space when they are in pain, startled or feeling socially pressured by someone leaning over them, hugging them or crowding their body," Bassett explains. "In many cases, the dog isn’t trying to be aggressive, they are simply trying to communicate that they are uncomfortable and need distance."
Listening and respecting a dog's needs is important, but you have to know what to look for. To help, Bassett shared five of the earlier, more subtle signs that your dog is asking for space, along with advice on how to respond.

5 Signs Your Dog Is Asking for Space, According to a Trainer A dog enjoying having its own space.Dogs will start quietly asking for space pretty early through their body language. Yet, Bassett says it's easy to miss cues your dog gives when they want some time to themself. As a trainer, she stresses it's vital to learn them, though. "Understanding this progression—from subtle avoidance signals to more intense warnings—helps people intervene earlier and prevent bites," Bassett explains. "When dogs see that their early communication works and that humans respect their requests for space, they are far less likely to feel the need to escalate their behavior in the future."
1. Avoiding eye contactThere are several ways dogs ask for space. Bassett shares that one is when a dog turns their head and body away from you. This is a sign they need solo time. It's one of the most common early ways your dog tells you, "I'd rather not interact right now."
When you notice this dog behavior, it's your pup's way of communicating to you. "Dogs often use this polite disengagement to signal that they are uncomfortable with a situation," Bassett reports. "Rather than confronting something directly, they angle their body away, look away or physically turn their head to diffuse social pressure."
2. Lip lickingAnother sign a dog needs alone time involves licking. In fact, licking isn't always a cue that your dog is hungry or about to give you a smooch. Bassett says it's often a sign your dog is asking for space. So if you see your dog lick its lips while lowering its heads, or dipping its heads ever so slightly, remember what it means.
"When a dog quickly flicks their tongue out—even when no food is present—it is often an appeasement gesture that indicates stress or discomfort," Bassett notes. "You may notice this when someone leans over the dog, when the dog is being scolded or when they feel socially pressured." Bassett adds that the head lowering is another way your dog says, "I'm not so sure about this" or "I am not a threat."

3. Stress-signal clusterThere are subtle signs your dog is overwhelmed and needs space that pet parents can miss. Bassett says one of those is when a dog has their ears pinned-back, a tucked tail, is tilting their body away from the situation and has whale eyes. Combined, these are almost always a message that your dog feels stressed as these are strong dog body language cues your dog will display when they asking for alone time.
"This body posture reflects anxiety and an attempt to create distance without escalating the situation," Bassett explains. "Your dog may remain still, but angle their body away, hoping the pressure will stop."
4. Walking awayBassett explains that some dogs will communicate discomfort by trying to leave a situation. "Walking away, backing up, hiding behind their guardian or moving to another room are all clear attempts to flee," Bassett says. These dog behaviors are important signs your dog needs space and should be recognized as key dog communication cues.
"When a dog tries to remove themselves, it is important to respect that choice rather than following or cornering them, as preventing escape can quickly increase their stress." Understanding these dog stress signals and dog body language signs can help pet owners respond appropriately and avoid escalating anxiety.
5. FreezingSome dogs default to freezing, especially when earlier dog communication signals and attempts to ask for space haven’t worked. Others may suddenly stop in their tracks, showing one of the more serious signs your dog needs space.
"A dog may suddenly become very still, stiffen their body, or hold their breath for a moment. This pause often occurs when the dog feels conflicted or threatened," Bassett explains. These are critical dog body language cues and often overlooked dog stress signals. "Freezing is frequently the last quiet signal before a dog escalates to stronger defensive behaviors."
Related: 7 Ways Your Dog Uses Their Ears to Talk to You, According to a Trainer
How to Respond to Your Dog's Need for SpaceBassett says that after a "freeze fail," dogs may curl their lips to show their teeth, growl, air-snap, or bite. So, it's vital to notice the earlier signs your dog is asking for space and respond accordingly from a regulated place. "When a dog asks for space, the best response is to calmly reduce the pressure," Bassett advises. "This might mean asking someone to step back, calling another dog away or allowing your dog to move to a quiet resting spot."
Remember, you are your dog's voice. Bassett says it's vital not to make a dog do something they clearly don't want to do. "Avoid forcing interaction or trying to reassure the dog with petting if they are clearly uncomfortable," Bassett recommends. "Instead, give them room and allow them to decompress. When dogs learn that their early communication works, they are far less likely to escalate their behavior."

These Highland Cows Have the Most Enviable Bedtime Routine—And Adorable Pajamas
Highland cows are the farm animal trifecta. They are cute, furry and completely socialable. With stats like that, how could they not be popular?
Though this particular pair of Highland cows has quite a following online. Millie and Milo are known as huge puppies around the farm, according to their social media accounts, and something tells me they wouldn't have it any other way. This video of their bedtime routine shows just how puppy-like they can be.

These Cow's Bedtime Routine is Enviablehttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/_76M3H9PQ4s
Millie and Milo, who live with the creators behind the viral YouTube account, The Husky Fam, are certainly living the high life. However, their most enviable part of their day may be their multi-part bedtime routine. Yes. You read that correctly. These two loveable, fluffy cows have a multi-step bedtime routine that just about everyone on the internet wants to help with.
First, they enter the barn and get to work spreading out a new layer of hay throughout their bedding area. One of the cows, Millie, lends a hoof by pushing the recently released from plastic bales around their home until it is mostly spread out. Of course, she does get a little distracted and starts rubbing her head against her pajamas. I think she may be hinting at something.
Her head rubs were so aggressive that one of the pajamas fell off the wall. That didn't stop her from returning to assist with the bales of hay, though. But sadly, the pajamas stayed on the ground for a little while.

The Final Bedtime StepsNo harm was done, and with a good shake, the pajamas were ready to go. Millie gets buttoned up into her blue pajamas, while the other cow, Milo, finally makes an appearance, just to get buttoned up into his pajamas. But he didn't come to help. Though I would venture to say that Millie's reward was getting her chin brushed after her pajamas were on.
After the pair puts on their adorable pajamas, they have a little bedtime snack. The lucky ducks get to wind down with a movie before mom finally says that it's lights out. She doesn't leave without giving them both extra scratches and kisses.
Fans were equally enamored with the pair. One writes in the comments, "This is one of my favorites. Milo and Millie look so adorable in their jam-jams. I love how Milo is always close to his mama, wanting cuddles and kisses." I would have to agree. I have never seen a cow in pajamas before, but Millie and Milo look totally huggable in theirs.
Other fans agree that they are just "adorable" and can't believe how big they have gotten. Thankfully, these two are miniature Highland cows, so they are about as big as they are going to get. They usually hit about 3.4 feet at their shoulder before they stop growing altogether. Regular Highland cows do grow larger.

It is out with the new, in with the new, at least as it relates to my Jack Russell Winnie’s leash.
When her last leash suffered an unfortunate accident, we went back to the rope leash after a few months away. It would be an understatement to say that Winnie actually gets excited to go out on that leash again.
But just because we are bringing back an old friend does not mean we cannot turn to something new, too. For the pet parents in a similar situation, Petco is currently offering the Reddy silicone dog treat pouch for 50% off — a welcome addition to any long walk.
Designed to Make Your Life Easier- The Reddy treat bag contains a clip-on feature that you can attach to your leash, purse, or even your pants. I typically clip treat bags onto my leash, but I know some of my friends like keeping them around their waist.
- According to Petco, the bag is “easily washable,” which is always excellent news.
- Petco offers free shipping if you spend at least $35 on your order. If you do standard shipping, you are looking at a $7 shipping fee. Alternatively, you can do free pickup if you have a Petco near you.

Shop ItPast Buyers Say...This under-$5 dog treat holder has a 4.5-star rating on Petco's website, and 75% of shoppers have left a perfect score. Here is what some have said:
- “It clasped to my jean belt loop with no issues and did not become unclasped at all during our run!”
- “Nice quality, easy to clean, easy to open and close. Very practical and simplistic.”
The Bottom Line: I have said it before, and I will say it again: There is nothing wrong with simple. Part of why I think Winnie loves her rope leash is that she does not need to worry about it being too tight or getting too far away from me. If your dog is like Winnie, then the same premise should theoretically apply to a treat bag. So long as it is easy and reliable for both parent and pet, then we are good to go.
8 Signs Your Pup Is Totally Smitten With You, According to Experts
If your dog follows you from room to room or acts like they’ve won the lottery when you come home—even if you were gone for five minutes—it’s probably no secret you’re their favorite person. But are those behaviors actually signs of love, or is your dog just being, well, a dog? Since dogs communicate differenly than their pet owners do, it can be hard to tell at times. After all, dogs express their feelings through their body language. To help you understand your dog better, we rounded up 8 signs your dog is smitten with you, according to experts.
“We all know how much we love our four-legged friends, but how do we really know they love us back?” says Dr. Jordyn Zoul, a Georgia-based veterinarian and vet advisor to Spot & Tango. “Sure, food is love, and they associate us with their food source, but how do we really know they reciprocate the feelings we have for them?”
According to Zoul and others, dogs often show affection through surprising behaviors people don’t expect. So, how can you tell if your dog loves you? There are different ways ways your dog shows love. Some pups are cuddly and obvious, while others express attachment through quiet, subtle behaviors, like napping at your side or making soft eye contact with you during play. And while every dog has a unique personality, consistent patterns often point to a strong emotional bond. That's why it's important to understand your dog’s body language so you can figure out what message they are sending.
To find out what truly counts as signs your dog loves you and dog affection signs, we asked veterinarians and trainers to break down the clearest ways dogs show they’re deeply attached to ther owners. Here are some canine bonding behaviors that your dog adores you just as much as you love them and some habits that show what dogs do when they love you.

8 Ways Dogs Show Love A dog who loves its owner.Dogs have their own special ways of showing affection, and recognizing these signs helps strengthen your bond. Understanding how your pup expresses love and attachment can make your relationship even more joyful and rewarding. Here are a few you should look out for.
They Follow You EverywhereCan’t catch a bathroom break without your furry friend tagging along? This is one of the signs your dog loves you. “If you get up from the couch to get yourself a snack in the kitchen and your dog comes with you, this is a sure sign she loves you,” Zoul says. This feeling of no man left behind (or dog, in this case) is thought to be rooted in their pack mentality. “They follow you around because they see you as their pack leader,” she adds. “They seek reassurance from your presence, and also want to offer than in response, kind of like a, ‘Hey, I got your back.’”
They Wait Up For YouHow can you tell if your dog is crazy about you? Well, if your dog acts like a concerned parent waiting up for you, they’re totally smitten with you. “A sure sign your dog loves you is their presence right by the door when you walk inside,” Zoul explains. “A lot of dogs will even recognize the sound of a garage door opening, footsteps walking up the stairs or tires on the driveway. They're tuned in to pick up signs their favorite person is back, and they can't wait to greet you as soon as you walk through the door.”

They Bring You “Gifts”Understanding your dog’s body language can take time and this is one dog behavior that can confuse pet parents. However, the meaning behnd it is actually sweet and it's a quirky ways your furry friend expresses love. While certain breeds are more prone to gift-giving than others, many dogs like Golden Retrievers and Labradors will bring owners a cherished toy, papers or other household objects. “Sometimes these are even unwanted gifts, like a squirrel or other unlucky outdoor creature,” Zoul says. “This gift-giving can be funny and sometimes even gross, but it's certainly thought to be rooted in love and respect.”
Dogs are wired to bring prey back to their young or other members of their pack, so this behavior signifies that your dog sees you as someone they want to provide for and comfort. “A lot of dogs also pick up objects when they're overwhelmed with excitement, like from seeing their favorite person walk through the door,” Zoul adds.
They Cuddle With YouJust like us humans, dogs want to curl up with or hug their loved ones. So, if your lovey-dovey dog likes to snuggle, know it's a dog affection signs and one way you can know your dog is attached to you. “In the wild, many pack animals huddle for warmth,” Zoul explains. “This is a source of comfort, security and safety.”
If your dog is obsessed with snuggles, it’s a pretty clear sign your pup feels comfortable and secure around you. “Sleeping is also a vulnerable state for animals in the wild, so if your dog feels he can sleep soundly with you, he trusts you implicitly,” she continues.
They Have a Happy and Relaxed Tail WagNo matter if your dog is small and fierce or big and cuddly, you can expect them to communicate how they feel about you through their body language. So, if you're unsure if your dog is totally obsessed with you, simply check their tail as its a way dogs show love. Dogs smitten with their owners may have a soft tail wag held at their normal height, rather than lowered, tucked or raised high over their back, which can indicate stress, anxiety or fear.
“Happy, relaxed tail wags will often be big and sweeping and may even cause their hind end to wiggle with the size and force of the wagging,” says Aldyn Markle, a certified dog behavior consultant, trainer and behavior specialty services manager at Joybound People & Pets.
They Choose to Be Around You, Even When Nothing Fun is HappeningIf you’re doing absolutely nothing and your dog is velcroed to your side, it’s pretty clear they simply enjoy being around you and love you, even when there’s no game of fetch around the horizon. “If your dog casually relocates just to stay within a few feet of you, that’s not clinginess, but attachment,” says Brett Reynolds, a fear-free animal trainer and director of dog care at The Dog Stop. “When your dog seeks you out during calm, boring moments (not just when food or walks are involved), it signals trust, emotional security and a preference for you as their social anchor.”
They Make Soft Eye Contact and “Check In” With YouThat slow, relaxed gaze dogs give you, often with loose facial muscles and a soft blink, is actually a big deal and a way your dog expresses they care about you. “Research has shown that mutual eye contact between dogs and their humans increases oxytocin, or the bonding hormone, in both species,” Reynolds says.
We’re not talking about intense staring, but rather more demure doe eyes. “In dog-to-dog interactions, prolonged staring can be threatening, but when a dog chooses to look at you gently and often, it means they feel safe and emotionally connected,” Reynolds continues.
You may also notice your dog “checking in” with you during walks or new situations. They might glance back, as if to see if you’re on the same page. “That’s not just good training, it’s social referencing,” he adds. “It reflects a strong emotional bond and confidence in you as a trusted partner.”
Their Body Language is Loose, Goofy and UnfilteredAt the end of the day, dogs can’t fake relaxation, so if their body language is chill, that shows they love you. “When your dog flops onto their back, leans their full weight into you, wiggles when you talk to them or greets you with a whole-body tail wag, that’s emotional honesty at its finest,” Reynolds says. “These cute dog behaviors show vulnerability and comfort, two things dogs only offer when they feel safe and attached.”
Loose muscles, curved bodies and exaggerated movements also indicate low stress and high social comfort. “Essentially, your dog feels free to be their weird, wonderful self around you,” he adds, “which is the ultimate compliment.”

Shark’s Portable Stainforce System is a Pet Parent’s Dream Tool, And It’s at Costco
Messes happen. Unfortunately, it's one of the less exciting realities of pet ownership. Muddy paw stains pop up from treks through wet dirt or, even worse, wet grass. And if you have a particularly slobbery pup, spots tend to appear after an afternoon spent chewing on a treat.
Thankfully, there are plenty of stain removal remedies and machines on the market. But, they aren't all created equal. Shark is well-known for tackling tough pet problems with products that handle issues like excess pet hair and stain removal. Their latest product aims to address those pesky stains while remaining portable and easy to use, and it's available at everyone's favorite warehouse store, Costco.

Shark StainForce Cordless Portable Spot, Stain and Odor Removal System, $149.99 at CostcoWhile I'd love to say I stay on top of stains as they happen, it doesn't always work out that way. No one, including me, likes lugging out a large carpet cleaner every single time there's a mess. Getting the machine ready to roll and then lugging it through the house from stain to stain is truly a tedious process. However, a smaller, more portable system makes it easier to stay on top of the stains that come with daily life, which is where Shark's StainForce System comes in, and it's pretty affordable at $149.99.
I can't decide if my favorite feature is that it's cordless or that everything fits in an easy-to-carry caddy around the house. One side holds the sleek stain remover, while the other holds the cleaning spray. Right in the middle of the two is the all-important extra attachment.
The system looks fairly easy to use. Spray the area of concern with the pre-mixed, low-moisture cleaning liquid, and use the scrubbing head to work the solution into the affected area. Suck everything up with the extraction head and call it a day. Or in my case, likely move on to the next spot.
The unit is 20.5 inches tall and weighs a little over 2 pounds, which firmly places it in the lightweight category. The bin holds .14 liters of liquid. If you have a larger cleaning area, you may have to empty the bin a few times before you are through.

Costco Shoppers Have Some ThoughtsWhile it's nice to see what a product can do, it's better to hear from people who have used it. Thankfully, Costco shoppers never hesitate to share their thoughts on Costco.com. One shopper writes, "Got this as an 'emergency tool to clean some filthy cloth seats and it worked really well. Its small size can be convenient to carry around in the car like those portable vacuums. A great addition to your arsenal of cleaning supplies." It would be great for cleaning up the car after a trip to the vet, or may come in handy if your pet ever gets car sick.
"This is an amazing device for our household. My husband spilt wine on the carpet, and I was so happy to have this on hand. It completely removed the stain within minutes and was so easy to use," another Costco shopper writes. She continues, "This is a must if you have carpet in your house. Love that it’s portable, cordless, and comes with a storage caddy. Bonus points that I don’t need to be searching for all of the chemicals and tools because they are all stored neatly in the caddy." My thoughts exactly. I love it when everything you need to get a job done is in one place.
One of the perks of being a Costco member is that the warehouse version usually comes with extra accessories. In this case, it comes with a magnetic charger, an extra bristle strip and replacement filters. It is currently available online at Costco.com and in-store.

Aldi’s Newest Drop Lets Your Dog Have Their Very Own ‘Pound Puppy’ to Cuddle
90s nostalgia has taken center stage, hitting stores with popular pieces of clothing, accessories and toys. But the adorable 90s themes aren't just for humans anymore. This time around, it's extending to our pets, giving us the chance to give them some of the toys we were obsessed with to cherish themselves.
Aldi has one of the quintessential childhood favorites: the Pound Puppy. We all wanted one. It graced the top of the list for every child's birthday and Christmas, giving us our very own pups to care for. Now, we can carry on the tradition, giving our own pups their own rainbow colored stuffed pups to play with.

Hasbro Games Plush Dog Toy-Pound Puppy, $7.99 at AldiAldi
Now that we have our own puppies to care for, it makes complete sense that we, 90s kids, or those who just appreciate the nostalgia, give our pups a Pound Puppy of their own to care for. The white pup fur comes in tufts of rainbow-colored fur, creating a fun and creative toy.
While the dog version may be a little more colorful than the OG pup, it still has the loveable expression and floppy features. Of course, it also has the signature Pound Puppy logo above the tail. The puppy both squeaks and crinkles to keep your dog's attention.
It's perfect for pups who love to snuggle with their stuffed animals or carry them around like their very own emotional support toy. If your pup is a super chewer like mine, you may want to skip this one. One squeak and it's sure to have stuffing scattered around the house in 10 seconds flat.

The plush material is best for mid-day snuggle sessions, nibbling, and fun games of fetch. Just be sure to keep an eye on your pup while they are playing. Stuffed toys make great play companions but can also pose a choking hazard. Plus, you can always wipe it down with a cloth if it gets a little too dirty.
Aldi is well-known for their quirky, but adorable finds. While they never disappoint, items that find themselves lucky enough to be included in this collection tend to go quickly. If it's your heart's desire to get a Pound Puppy for your four-legged best friend, then you'd better get over to your local Aldi store before they sell out.

Orange Cat Figures Out How To Open a Crockpot Because of Course He Did
There are smart cats. There are chaotic cats. And then there are Orange Cats, who somehow manage to be both at the same time in ways that feel… slightly concerning.
Because once an Orange Cat figures something out, it’s over for the rest of us.
@katiefraime49Replying to @McKenna ✨🦥🍃🫠 I put the crock pot out a few days later to see if he would do it again.. while I was home.. sure enough he did 😐. The crock pot now has a permanent home in the garage
♬ original sound - KatieThe unbelievable video was posted on the @katiefraime49 TikTok account, and it shows an Orange Cat standing on a kitchen counter doing something I personally didn't know kitties were capable of.
He is opening a crockpot.
Not sniffing it. Not pawing at it. Fully engineering a solution.
Related: Orange Cat and Bearded Dragon Are the Most Chaotic Besties
Using his body weight and paws, he presses on the latch and nudges it forward until the lid loosens, all while his gray Tabby brother stands behind him like a hype man witnessing greatness.
I swear this looks exactly like my Maine Coon, Meatball, just… smaller and slightly more committed to crime.
The people who left comments absolutely lost it.
“I’m a full-grown woman and can barely open the crockpot.”
“I’m so glad my cats are stupid.”
“Orange Cat engineer! Of course, he’s a mechanical engineer!”
Others were less impressed and more concerned.
“This is why I don’t eat at potluck lunches!”
And one person pointed out something surprisingly helpful.
“You are not supposed to use the latches for cooking. They are for transporting. It can cause pressure, and the lid could shatter.”
So not only is this kitty chaotic, but he might also be the only one in the room following proper crockpot safety guidelines.
The cat mom later explained she now has to use her crockpot in the garage, which honestly feels like the only logical next step when you live with a tiny orange genius who has discovered appliances.
And then there was this comment, which sparked a whole different debate.
“I have two cats, and counters are off-limits. They have a clear understanding.”
Sure. OK. That sounds nice. Congratulations to you.
How To Train Your Cats To Stay off the Kitchen Counters Tabby cat on the kitchen counter.Image Via: Tanya Little/Shutterstock
If your cat has decided your kitchen counters are their personal playground, you are definitely not alone. Cats are naturally curious and love high places, especially when those places involve food or interesting smells.
Training them to stay off counters takes consistency and a little patience. One common method is using deterrents like double-sided tape or aluminum foil on surfaces, which many kitties dislike walking on.
Some pet parents also use a spray bottle as a quick correction, though it is important to avoid creating fear and instead redirect your fur baby to acceptable spaces like cat trees or designated perches.
Keeping counters clean and free of food can also reduce their temptation, although, as this Orange Cat has proven, sometimes their curiosity alone is enough.
And if your kitty has already figured out how to operate small kitchen appliances, it may be time to accept that you are no longer in charge.

Rescue Dog With Floppiest Ears in All the Land Shows off the Cutest Hero Costume
Adopting a rescue dog comes with SO many perks. They're usually house-trained, may know some basic commands, and they seem to understand they're being saved. If you're looking for a million reasons to search your local shelter, I have just the pup to sway you.
Ryder, a Shar-Pei mix with tiny, floppy ears, isn't only one of the cutest dogs on the web, but he's also a secret superhero—and he wants to show you his precious costume!

♬ Do You Like My Costume - Kimba And FriendsDid someone put out the bat signal? If so, Ryder heard the call, and he's ready to swoop in and save the day! This cutie-pie is adorable enough without a costume, so this quick but perfect clip is the cherry on top!
And let's not forget those perfectly pointed ears and his big, soulful eyes. He's like another version of Scooby-Doo vibes, but better. This good boy is doing an excellent job showcasing why rescue dogs are the absolute best.

This handsome gentleman is more than happy to wear a costume or do whatever Mom asks of him. Unfortunately, he spent two long years in a shelter before someone noticed what a doll he is and gave him the second chance he needed. Since then, the rescue pup has been livin' la vida loca in luxury!
Not long ago, Ryder became a viral sensation for his sweet donkey noises. He makes them when he's ready for bed (in the cutest jammies) and wants Mom to tuck him in. I've watched this video no less than 25 times, and it's better each time.

♬ original sound - Ryder the Rescue Rescue Dogs Don't Get Enough CreditI'll always be an advocate for rescuing a dog, especially as my senior pup sits across the room dreaming away. Sure, we saved his life at a time he seemed to have given up, but in the three years since that kismet meeting, he's saved mine, too.
With shelters so overcrowded, there's no better time than now to add a new companion to your home. These pups have so much going for them—and you might even find a full-breed doggie who would cost a gazillion dollars from a breeder—and they're deserving of a happy ending.
Aside from the fact that rescue dogs are typically ready to go (vaccinated, spayed/neutered, etc.), you'll never find a love like what they're capable of giving. And you might even get them to don a costume to show off their best features (like those floppy ears on Ryder)!

Tiny, Roly-Poly Bulldog Puppies Wrestling Each Other Is Peak Cuteness
There is a very specific kind of chaos that only exists when puppies are this small, this round, and this committed to absolutely nothing except rolling on top of each other.

They are rolling over each other, gently biting, making the smallest little growls and whimpers, and somehow none of it feels aggressive. Just… enthusiastic. Do I NEED one of these tiny puppies? Absolutely not. Do I WANT one of these tiny puppies? Absolutely.

They have those beautiful, spotted merle coats, soft wrinkles, and those fat little bodies that make you want to scoop all of them up at once, even though that would be physically impossible.
People in the comments were immediately overwhelmed. One person simply said, “Cuteness overload,” which is honestly the most accurate summary. Another joked, “I’ve got a bag of potatoes in my pantry, I’m gonna go check to see if they growl all cute, too,” which now feels like something we all need to test.
Others were fully ready to give up all productivity, like, “I would never get anything done, I'd cuddle them all day,” and “Oh, I want one so badly,” which… same. Very same.
There were also the people who just melted, writing, “Oh my goodness, cutest babies ever,” and “They are just precious, I bet they smell so good,” which is such a specific thought but also completely valid.
This is the exact kind of video that makes you forget everything you were supposed to be doing and just sit there smiling like an idiot for way too long.
How Old Do Puppies Have To Be Before Leaving Their Mama? Two Saint Bernard puppies kissing.Image via Shutterstock/Rita_Kochmarjova
Puppies should stay with their mother and littermates until they are at least 8 weeks old, and in many cases, even a little longer is better. Those early weeks are incredibly important for both physical development and social learning.
During this time, puppies learn how to interact with other dogs, including bite inhibition, play behavior, and communication cues. When they wrestle, nip, and tumble around like this, they are actually practicing important skills that help them become well-adjusted adult dogs.
Related: Tiny Dalmatian Puppy Gets the Hiccups and Looks Deeply Concerned About It
Their mother also plays a key role, not just in nursing but in teaching boundaries. She corrects them when needed, comforts them, and helps regulate their behavior in ways humans cannot fully replicate.
Separating puppies too early can lead to behavioral challenges later on, including anxiety, difficulty with socialization, and issues with biting or play. That is why responsible breeders and rescues wait until puppies are developmentally ready before sending them to new homes.
As hard as it is, letting them have this full time with their mom and siblings gives them the best possible start. And honestly, watching them grow and learn during this stage is part of what makes moments like this so special.

Tabby Cat Decides Newborn's Pillow Is Actually Hers and We Can't Even
The mother of a newborn baby and also a cat mom just experienced something many kitty parents go through when they bring home their new addition to the family: Cats love baby stuff.
Babies require a lot of stuff, which means a lot of new, often peculiar-looking items come into the house, and cats are quite curious about all these new additions.
It means new smells, new things to climb on, and most importantly, new places to curl up in for a nice, long nap.
We see that here in a recent video from @gloriacentanni.
Gloria is a new mom to a baby boy she had earlier this month.
She is also the mom to an adorable Tabby cat who has decided her new human brother's special pillow is really hers.
In the video, we see her all curled up on this large pillow with borders.
Her mother asks, "Can I put brother here? This is his," to which the cat just meows possessively as if to say, "No, I'd rather not share my new bed I found. Please take your business elsewhere."
But Mom needs to put the baby down, and so they are going to have to share.
They fit pretty well together on the pillow, though the cat is taking up most of the room and isn't thrilled about her new bedmate.
The look on the Tabby cat's face is absolutely priceless!
@gloriacentanniShe made it very clear… that she was there first 😭 #newbornbaby #catandbaby #catsoftiktok #catmom #furbaby
♬ original sound - Gloria Why Do Cats Love Baby Stuff? From the video, we see that there are plenty of other places for this female cat to take her nap, including a couch.
So why did she select the baby pillow?
Well, first of all, cats are naturally curious, so if something is lying around her space, she is probably going to check it out.
Plus, it is soft and smells like a baby, which is intriguing to them.
And this is a comfy, cozy pillow, so it makes sense.
Related: Tabby Cat Steals Newborn Puppies and Decides They’re Her Babies
But similar to dogs, when you first bring your baby home, make sure you never leave your pet and newborn alone.
Give your cat space to adjust to the new addition. Don't corner them or restrain them and force them to get close to the baby.
They need to approach the baby on their own terms, and if that takes days or weeks, then so be it.
It is also good to let the kitty explore the baby's items when the baby isn't using them, so if you bring the crib or other supplies home before the baby arrives, be sure to let the cat explore.
Clearly, this feline is not only comfortable stealing the baby's pillow, but she'll deal with (albeit reluctantly) sharing a space with him.

Cat Can't Tell If She Loves or Hates Cheetos and It's Hilarious
Certain foods are an acquired taste. Olives, liver, oysters, and other distinct flavors aren't for everyone. For selective eaters, even the most common food items can cause a reaction.
Athena the cat obviously has a picky palate and had a hard time deciding whether or not she likes a popular snack.
@amandamock2#cats #cat #funnycat #pet #kitten Athena really doesn't know if she wants the Cheetos or not...but num num num
♬ original sound - Amanda MockIn the TikTok from @amandamock2, Athena's mom let the pretty kitty try some Cheetos. She held one out and Athena happily obliged, giving it a few licks while loudly purring in approval.
All of a sudden, Athena had a change of heart and hissed in a mix of anger and disgust. Her mom was bewildered by her flip-flop of feelings and took the Cheeto away. She gave it another try and offered it again to the feline fur baby, who gladly accepted with the same joyful purr.
After a few moments of enjoying the cheesy snack, Athena changed her mind again and clearly expressed her distaste.
"Athena was begging to taste the Cheeto, and she has a love/hate relationship with it," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Athena really doesn't know if she wants the Cheetos or not... but num num num."
Followers got a kick out of Athena's contrasting reactions and posted some comical comments.
"She only wanted it for the cheese powder and then said 'rotate this you peasant',” one noted.
"She's disgusted by her own greed," another remarked.
"You’re obviously supposed to know when she’s done," a fan pointed out.
She loves the taste, but she knows they aren't part of a healthy diet — she's smart," a follower posted.
"She hisses when the cheese disappears. I do that as well," someone shared.
Can Cats Have Cheetos? While the cheesy snack isn't necessarily harmful for cats, Cheetos aren't a nutritious option to add to their diet. A few licks won't do any damage — your feline would have to go through a full bag to suffer any gastrointestinal consequences. Yet the long list of unnatural ingredients can have a negative effect on their digestive system.
Athena may have realized that while the salty finger food was yummy, it wasn't worth the risk.

This $5 Find at Aldi Is Perfect for Keeping Your Curious Pet Busy
If your dog or cat gets bored easily—or seems to have a sixth sense for when you’re about to sit down and relax—this $5 Aldi find might be your new best friend.
The Heart to Tail Pet Puzzle Toy (Star), which will be available starting April 8 at Aldi, is an interactive toy made to keep smaller dogs and cats engaged, challenged and occupied.
And for just a few bucks, it delivers way more than you’d expect.

Heart to Tail Pet Puzzle Star, $4.99 at Aldi Heart to Tail Pet Puzzle Star A Great Boredom BusterThis puzzle toy features multiple hidden compartments—up to 14 treat locations—where you can hide kibble or small treats. From there, it’s up to your pet to figure out how to get them out.
That means sniffing, pawing, nudging and problem-solving their way to each reward.
For dogs and cats, this taps into something instinctual. In the wild, they’d spend time foraging and working for their food, so giving them a puzzle like this mimics that natural behavior in a safe, controlled way.
Related: Dog Parents Swear By This Cute and Useful Puzzle Toy on Chewy for Beating Boredom
Why Mental Stimulation MattersIt’s easy to focus on physical exercise—walks, fetch, trips to the park, interactive play sessions—but mental stimulation is just as important for both dogs and cats.
Puzzle toys like this help tire pets out in a different way. Even 10 to 15 minutes of problem-solving can work their little brains, tiring them out in a different way than physical exercise.
For dogs, this kind of enrichment taps into natural instincts like foraging and working for food. For cats, it mimics hunting behavior, encouraging them to paw at and capture their "prey."
This can be especially helpful for high-energy or highly intelligent pets that need more than just physical outlets to stay balanced and well-behaved.
It’s also a great option for:
- Rainy days when outdoor time is limited
- Busy workdays when you need your pet to stay occupied
- Pets that tend to get into trouble when they’re bored
One of the best things about this toy is how easy it is to use. Just add treats, set it down and let your pet do the rest.
You can even adjust the difficulty by how you place the treats, making it a little easier for beginners or more challenging as they get the hang of it.
At just $5, it’s a low-cost way to add meaningful enrichment to your pet's routine.

This ‘Cattle Dog’s’ DNA Results Leave Mom ‘Speechless’
We choose our rescue dogs based on size and connection, but it is also nice to know their genetic makeup. DNA tests can also give us a heads-up on which breed-related health issues may arise in the future. Some breeds are more prone to hip dysplasia, while others are prone to heart, skin, and liver conditions. While it doesn't change how much we love them, I, for one, like to be prepared for the future.
For some of us, pet parents, it is more about curiosity than anything else. Some rescues have the most unique looks, which are more than worth the wait for DNA tests to come back and tell us which breeds go into their adorable little faces. Reddit's DoggyDNA is a constant source of interesting doggie mixes. Some are downright cute while others are completely shocking. This Redditor's pups' results fall into a category of their own, leaving her utterly speechless.

DNA Results Leave Redditor SpeechlessA Reddit DoggyDNA post took the original poster and fellow Redditors from fairly confident in a dog's breed to sheer disbelief, an occurrence that tends to happen on the platform. In this case, the OP, Typical_Following_87, shared a couple of pics with the group of their pup, who clearly looks like a tan-and-white cattle dog of sorts. They thought the mix was a cattle dog with a bit of Jack Russell terrier.
The group chimes in with their guesses, with many of them leaning towards the same conclusion. But the Embark test results show everyone just how very wrong they all are. Ranger has no cattle dog, and no came back as almost 42% Chinese Shar-Pei with 22% Boston Terrier.
Rounding out Ranger's surprising mix is 14% Yorkshire Terrier, 12% Beagle, and 9% Pomeranian. It's quite the handful of breeds for this clear "cattle dog" mix. While he might have a seriously interesting mix of DNA, he is one very gorgeous pup.
Related: Lab Heeler Mix’s DNA Results Are a Shocking Combination of Dog Breeds
Redditors Blown AwayHis mom wasn't the only member of the group left speechless. Group members were equally puzzled. One writes, "I am often wrong on this sub, but never that wrong. lol." In this case, I feel like it's perfectly valid to be way, way off. There is no inclination from the photos that Rnager was anything other than a soft, fluffy cattle dog. I fully expected to see heeler and border collie gracing his DNA, along with something like Kelpie or Australian shepherd mixed in for good measure.
Another Redditor chimed in with, "Poster child for needing a DNA test to determine breed makeup." Ranger definitely demonstrates why dog DNA tests are worth it. But all in all, as Embark puts it, he is 100% Ranger and a certified good boy.

This Adorable Office Dog Just Battled an ‘Alligator’—You’ll Love the Ending
Every office has that one employee who takes their job a little too seriously.
In this case, that employee was a tiny dog named Chewie, and his job was to protect everyone else. We can safely say that Chewie delivered. The moment a tiny alligator toy entered the premises, Chewie was there to protect everyone else.
In a video shared on social media platform Reddit, we see Chewie running circles around the toy. We can instantly notice the bravery of this dog. He is determined and never shows any signs of fear or anxiety.
So damn proud of my dog, Chewie the Chiweenie, who bravely battled an office alligator today and emerged victorious, saving countless livesby u/SappyGilmore in aww
Instead, Chewie runs around the toy, barks, wags his tail, tries to grab the alligator and, eventually, brings him down to the ground.
This “threat” didn’t stand a chance. Chewie’s energy is unmistakable, proving that small dogs are sometimes more fearless protectors than large guard dogs.
Related: This Tiny Found Puppy Had a Surprise Plan After No One Claimed Him
What Are Fans Saying About It?Comedic interactions at work always prompt comedic responses. Fans praised Chewie’s bravery, saying, “Officezilla defeated, heck yeah,” “We need to write a book about this battle” and “Knowing I can sleep safely now that Chewie has felled the beast is a relief.”
After so many funny comments and some memes, Chewie’s parent weighed in. He said, “If this video somehow leads to a Hollywood special effects big budget blockbuster where a CGI Chiweenie battles an alligator similar to Godzilla vs Kong, that's progress.” We personally cannot wait to watch that.
Why Small Dogs Act Like They Run the WorldAnyone who has lived with a small dog likely finds this behavior familiar because size rarely matches confidence. Many small breeds are wired to be alert, vocal and quick to respond to anything unusual. Historically, some were bred as watchdogs, meaning they had to react fast and loud to potential danger.
For example, Chihuahuas were initially bred to be guardians. They’ve retained that instinct to this day, which is why they bark a lot.
Benefits of Bringing Dogs to WorkMoments like this are exactly why bring your dog to work day events have gained traction.
Having dogs in the workplace can reduce stress levels, encourage short breaks and even improve social interaction between coworkers. People naturally gather around a dog, and conversations may start more easily.
For the dogs, it provides mental stimulation and exposure to new settings. Instead of spending the entire day alone at home, they get to explore, observe and engage. Bringing pets to work also provides a comedy break. When Chewie battles with the toy, it triggers a brief, healthy mental reset for everyone watching, and we're so happy someone caught it on video.
